“Please Logan. Please, please, please just behave tonight.” you begged, pouting your lip as you gazed up at him with puppy dog eyes. It wasn’t often you had to beg Logan for anything.
He always gave you everything you wanted, no questions asked.
New purse? Chanell bag was waiting for you on the table when you arrived home. New shoes? He helped you pick them out, making you walk over to him seductively before perching you on his lap.
Anything you wanted, you got. Except for Logan behaving himself.
The older man was not known for being… caring.
To anyone but you, of course.
Where the sunshine lingered over your head like a halo, his stormcloud trailed behind at an arm's distance.
He was jealous… no, possessive. If a man stared at you for a second too long, he was no longer a man, but a boy sprawled on the ground with blood gushing out of his nose, ears and eyes. A violent, cold shouldered man with a harsh military past, but to you he would give the world on a silver platter if he could.
Which is exactly why he was dressing up for an event he very much did not want to go to- for your sake.
You stood on your tiptoes to adjust his tie, smoothing out his crisp, white undershirt that highlighted his strong arms. You wanted to kiss them.
“That's all I’m askin baby.” you pouted again, placing a gentle kiss to his neck as he bent down to your level.
“Now would I ever embarrass my girl?” he asked teasingly, brushing a warm, calloused thumb across your cheek, careful not to mess up the makeup you had so delicatly applied sitting on the bathroom vanity for hours.
“Hmm. Well sometimes someone gets a lil possessive..” you trailed on, his eyebrow cocking in amusement.
“AmI not allowed to protect my princess? There's so many terrible men out there you know baby.. That just wanna take my girl away from me.” he mocked your pout, guiding you around to face the standing mirror adorned with little lights around it, to “highlight your beauty” he had told you.
They glowed softly, pulsing against your skin as he leaned down, placing a kiss on your neck- the same place you had to him- only his tugged at your skin, just a little longer.
“And we don't want that now do we?”
Your panties damped at his condescending tone. God, why did his posessiveness turn you on so fucking much? You were adding fuel to the fire.
“No, but it's just a gala Lo. I’m sure it’ll be okay.”
“I’m always protecting my girl.” he snarled, hands gripping your hips, giving them a squeeze over your velvet red dress, draping across your body like a Greek goddess. It was one of Logans favourites. Of course, he said that about everything you did, and did not wear.
You thought it was fitting for the event, supposedly just a “mingle and drink” was what Charles had said. A good way to connect with other mutants from other parts of the world. It was important to him, so you wanted to make sure it ran as smoothly as possible.
“You look so fucking beautiful. Fuck.” he murmured, running his hands up and down your body, tickling your skin. “You make me think such dirty, dirty thoughts princess.”
“Oops.” you giggled, feeling a bulge against your backside, rubbing against the fabric. You hated to leave him high and dry, but Charles would kill you if you were late.
It would cause Logan to be on edge even more so then he was, but if he had it his way, you’d constantly stay in his bed.
“Now we gotta go. Oh- and, no guns, no claws.” you scolded, shimming out of his grasp to snatch up your handbag, stuffing the contents that had spilled out back inside messley.
“Hgmp.” he grumbled, reaching for your outstretched hand, trailing after you to walk into his own personal internal hell. If it meant he could support you, and even just see you- he would do it.
Not without a slight fuss though, to make you pity him.
“Don’t think about it Lo. Charles wants this to go perfectly… and I’m just-”
“Hey. hey, I’m just teasing you baby. I promise, I’ll be on my best behaviour, I wanna be there for you. But if any man tries it…” He stopped you, turning you back against the doorframe, his palm in your cheek, stroking it lovingly.
You met his eyes, soaking in their gentle gaze he only revealed to you, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear. “You just want an excuse to show off your hot date.” you teased, smiling softly.
He laughed, squeezing you close to his chest. You breathed in his cologne, smelling strongly of whisky and pine needles. It made you drunk, intoxicating you like white wine.
“You caught me there.”
---------------------------------------------
“Fashionably late” is what Logan called it, when you strolled into the ballroom of the old, castle-like manor, nearly twenty minutes past. You had urged him to pick up the pace, but he had distracted you with his lips whenever you tried to protest.
He had listened to you however, when you begged him not to mess up your makeup, only tugging on your lip with teeth instead of smearing it with his thumb.
Smiling meekly at Charles with your hair slightly out of place, you wiggled your way through the crowd, familiar and unfamiliar faces poking out at you.
You waved to Storm, smiling as she flirted with a mutant from out of town. Soaking in her shimmering silver dress, you gave her a big thumbs up, mouthing “you look so good!”, earning a stifled giggle from her as the man continued his conversation.
Logan watched you like a hawk from the side of the room, acting as a bodyguard. He seemed to sneer at anyone who you didn’t know get too close to you, even if they were just passing by.
He had showed up for you, so you let him sulk. It was the least you could do. You paid him no mind, occasionally looking over to see him nursing a whisky on the rocks in a fancy glass, adjusting his jacket as Rouge talked to him.
Giving him a little soft wave, you turned, bumping right into an unfamiliar face.
“Oh, my apologies- I should’ve watched where I was going.” you reassured, giving a curt nod and smile. You took a step, Charles popping into view- only an arms reach away.
“Hey, no worries. I hope I didn’t mess up your beautiful dress.” the stranger smiled, eyeing you up. It made you shiver in discomfort. “Oh thank you.” You tried to be as polite as you could be- hoping the conversation would end as quickly as it started.
“What’s your name?” he asked. “Oh- uh… Y/N.”
“Nice to meet you, I’m-”
“She doesn't care who you are.” a low voice growled, Logan slipping in front of you, shielding you from the stranger.
You could see the back muscles ripple through his tight jacket, threatening to tear in two. He must have sniffed out your immediate discomfort. You were grateful for it, as the hungry stares the man gave you made you uneasy.
“Woah bud. Chill out, I’m just saying hello.”
“You’re making my girl uncomfortable. And anyone who makes my girl-” he emphasised those two words. “-uncomfortable, gets fucked up.”
You felt Charles stare at the back of your head, and you frantically tried to pull him back before he threw a punch and made a scene. “Lo- let's go, lets just let it go.”
He snarled at the man, making him tremble slightly, trying to hide his discomfort the same way you had just done for him.
“I would listen to your girl.” he mocked.
“You shut the fuck up.” you snapped, stepping out from behind your guard dog of a boyfriend- finger right in his face. “I shouldn't even give you the time of day, you perv. I know what you're thinking about- and I would never be with you. Never in a million years.” you spat, turning sharply on your heel, not looking to see if anyone followed.
You felt heads turn as you strutted out of the ballroom, Charles being one of them.
He was a pervert. I’m getting some air. You telepathically told Charles, stomping towards an empty office down the hall- letting the door slam behind you. I understand, and I’ll take care of him, if Logan doesn't before me. He murmured, voice slipping from your mind as quick as it came.
You leaned against the mahogany desk, taking a deep breath. Trying to compose yourself, you unzipped your dress just a tad, to give yourself more room to take deeper breaths.
A moment later, you heard loud footsteps stomp down the hall, Logan appearing from behind the closed door he opened. His eyes glinted with anger- a hunger and possessiveness that had you squeezing your thighs together.
The lock clicked, and within two strides he towered in front of you. “Lo-”
He kissed you so hard you swore you tasted coppery blood coat your bottom lip, and you moaned into his mouth. Melting into his touch, his hands held your neck- not letting you go anywhere, before hiking you up in his arms.
Office supplies were pushed to the side clattering to the ground as you were perched at the edge of the desk, legs wrapping around Logan tightly.
“Youre so fucking hot when you get like that. So worked up, letting that lil cat out to scratch.”
He growled in your mouth, hand slipping down to grab your ass, smacking it hard. “Mghm f-fuck Logan, he just made me so angry… and you protected me like always..”
“That man is not gonna make it tomorrow when I’m done with him.” he promised, and you felt heat rise in your cheeks at his claims.
“You’re mine. Mine, and fuck I’m gonna make sure you leave this room with everyone knowing that princess.”
“Lo- need y’so bad..” you whined, hand slipping down his chest to tug at the button of his dress pants. His bulge taunted you, and a hiss escaped from his lips as you grazed it through the fabric.
“Ya? You need me baby? Come and take me then, my big, strong girl.” he murmured, letting you pull him out of his confinements, the sheer size making your mouth water.
You never got tired of him, never got over how big he was. You struggled to tug your dress fully off, and he chuckled at the sight of you.
“So desperate hm? Need help?”
“N-no.” you mumbled, finally finding a way to shimmy it down. You wasted no time with the extras- simply pulling your thong to the side, as you guided him near your entrance.
“Your hands are so tiny on my cock baby. All of you is just so tiny, you need to be protected, hm?”
You nodded mindlessly, sighing in relief as he slid his cock up and down through your soaked folds, before sliding in and hitting home. Your mouth popped open with an O- as he never fully slid fully in without guiding it in slowly first.
He was needy tonight. You both were.
“Oh fuck baby. Fuck.”
You squeezed your legs around his waist, pulling him in tighter, trying your best to fuck yourself on him. It wasn't as good as what he did to you. You needed him.
“You poor lil thing. You need some help, you need daddy to fuck ya princess?”
You nodded, moaning as his hand found its way around your neck, squeezing softly as he pulled out, then back home- hips snapping at a rough pace that had you seeing stars.
You couldn't help but let the noises escape you- trying so hard to stay quiet but they slipped out, mixing with the slap of skin.
“Yeah let it all out baby. Let them all hear how good I fuck you. How you're mine, and no one else's.”
You looked into his eyes widely, as they started to fog over with pure pleasure. He hugged your gummy walls like a glove, his grunts and praises spurring you on. You couldn't help but look down, watching the way his cock slid deep inside you, the outline poking through your stomach.
“Lo- you’re so big.”
“And you're so tight, baby. You like lookin at how well you take me? Look over there.” he nodded his head over to the right, where a full length mirror stood.
You turned your head, watching as he rammed into you, pushing your legs up across his big, beefy shoulders, bending you to his will. His eyes met yours in the reflection, a cruel smirk forming on his lips as you gasped and whimmered his name as he fucked you.
“Such a pretty princess.” he whispered, hoping everyone could hear you.
Knowing those noises you made were because him- for him, and only him.

the fridge keeps leaking water into the freezer which then of course freezes and blocks the door which causes everything to keep defrosting and then freezing again slightly. which causes more ice to block the door. meanwhile certain areas of the fridge are so cold that things freeze in there anyway. so essentially they've swapped

harry was stubborn. but then again, so was YN.
he didn’t mean for things to end the way they did, he was stuck in a lull since love on tour ended. it was always the inbetween—purgatory, he would call it. a euphoria cut short, leaving him marooned in a space before the settle.
touring ignited his soul, an always occurring rebirth every time he steps upon the stage. but now it’s march, and he’s standing alone in the heathrow airport after his self-imposed exile in italy.
the air was crisp, biting, and tangled with the faintest trace of her perfume—vanilla, the one he'd bought her, the one she wore on the nights they'd venture out together. if he closed his eyes, he could picture her bathed in neon, colors playing on her skin like she was something holy.
if he thought hard enough, he could feel the phantom burn in his nose as it did in october. he could feel the warm trickle of blood drip down his cupid’s-bow if he overdid it. he could taste the metallic crimson that would slip past his lips and stain his teeth. he could remember the look of horror on her face as he shot her a bloody smile, eyes too dilated to come into his senses—too far gone.
but if he fished through his wallet, he wouldn’t find his old debit card—the one he had closed out in 2011 when his fame started to rise. it’s what he always used to form his lines, and remnants of the white powder were a staple on that card. a relic from a life he was beginning to lose control over.
after that night in october, when they got home, YN had snatched it from his wallet and cut it to pieces in front of him, her face twisted in anguish, not anger. she loved him, and that was the worst part.
a superstar like him could indulge, sure. a line here, a hit there—california sober, he used to joke. but as the tour ended, that fleeting thrill had turned into something darker, something that clawed at his insides when the spotlight faded. something he’d turn to for the semblance of exhilaration he had on the road.
so, now he was out of his lucky, unusable debit card. and, sometimes at night, he would think of the way the pieces are drifting around a landfill, scattered and forgotten.
but then he would think of YN. and no, that couldn’t compare, it wouldn’t.
he didn’t have to squint or fish through his contacts, she was just gone. and he knew it.
that night she had threatened to leave if he didn’t get sober, and harry fell to his knees, wrapping his arms around her bare thighs and begged her to stay. he could feel the lotion lift from her skin because of his tears, the way it burned his eyes. she had fell down to the floor with him that night, combing through his curls and whispering promises that she wouldn’t leave if he just tried. that’s all he had to do. they fell asleep on the couch that night.
harry thought he had gotten rid of everything. he had one slip up, and he remembered how YN’s eyes glossed over when she told him he had one more chance.
it was the day before halloween when she found a dime bag of the familiar white powder stashed away in one of his drawers—an afterthought. a remnant, a leftover.
harry tried to explain it wasn’t new, something that remained forgotten. he desperately followed her out to her car in the rain, holding the drivers door open as he pleaded. but she started the engine. she was leaving, and he knew it.
he remembers the way his frustration boiled over. maybe it was projection, withdrawal, or the pain of watching the love of his life walk away. but he had slammed the drivers door shut, slapping his palm against the window with a shaky sob as she drove off.
he hadn’t seen her since. he disappeared into italy afterward, hiding in his villa. he would have virtual therapy sessions every thursday, lots of which ended in his tears.
he knew he was blocked, he could tell by the way his blue messages no longer had the word delivered underneath them. because they weren’t. just conversations with a ghost. a stonewalled grave.
he had only started to come to terms with the end of their relationship in february, after his thirtieth birthday. there was no message, no phone call, no knock upon his door. he was just alone in italy.
harry thought about relapsing that day. he thought about calling a friend of a friend and falling into the vibrant world only the blow could offer.
but he didn’t, he called his mum. he called his therapist. he drank some wine, sang himself a somber happy birthday over a strawberry cupcake, and then slept for thirteen hours.
now he was at the airport in the heart of london. he only had his carry on, roses from the gift shop, and so many words left unsaid. the airport was unusually quiet that afternoon, the fluorescent lights casting a sterile glow over harry as he stood there, unmoving. london was a different reality, pulling him back into the damp chill of march and the weight of everything he'd left unresolved. he tasted a tinge of salt in the air, his nerves raw as he thought of her—the girl he'd lost, the girl he couldn't let go of.
he didn’t even know if she still lived in the same brick townhouse, but it was worth a shot. he didn’t really even think this through, he had enough clothing for about three days, and his car was about thirty minutes away from her place at his own house.
but he ubered there anyway, grateful it was only an older fellow who had no clue who he was. he would shove his nose into the flowers occasionally, smelling them with a gentle inhale. he shifted in his seat, turned his phone on and off with every passing minute to watch the time pass. he was restless, he was nervous.
her flat looked the same as it always did when he was dropped off, but there was a festive little reef still hanging on her door from christmas. a whisper of a smile tugged at his lips from that.
his own body felt heavier on his feet as he stood before her door, it felt like he could topple over and perish in that moment. harry thought it wouldn’t be the worst thing if he did, perhaps she would even miss him—no, he thought, tempting as it was—really messed up.
right?
he shook his head at his own thoughts, raising his fist to knock on her door. it was light, he wasn’t even sure if it’s something she’d hear. the brunette debated knocking again, harder this time, but he heard her voice behind the barrier.
“coming!”
he felt weak in the knees. it was her voice, no mistaking it. she was real, still here, just behind the door. YN’s voice felt like a fresh sherpa blanket, still soft and unused. it sounded like honey stirred into tea. harry really thought he could topple over at that point.
the door swung open and there she was, only a foot away after being hundreds of miles apart for so long. her hair was different, and she had a pair of glasses he hadn’t seen before resting on the bridge of her nose. her lips were parted, face drained of all color as she stared at him.
the words caught in harry’s throat, and he stood speechless. he only raised the roses toward her with a shaky hand, his chest rising and falling rapidly.
she looked down at the deep red flowers, then back into his green eyes. the eyes that were so familiar, eyes that took in every part of her being and imprinted into his brain. but the petals resembled the blood pooled between his teeth only a few months ago, the way it dripped onto her new dress as she eased him out of the club that night.
her throat ran dry as she swallowed hard, her stomach lurching and threatening to spill all over her porch and harry’s beat up sambas. “what–what’re you doing here?” her voice barely a whisper, both broken and brimming with something he couldn't place. she had missed him—he could feel it—but the anger lingered, a smoldering ember just beneath the surface.
the bouquet continued to tremble in his hands. “i had to see you.” he murmured, voice shaking underneath his nerves. he couldn’t hold eye contact with her, something he had never struggled with before. “i couldn’t—i miss you, YN.”
she pressed her lips together, the sight of him here in front of her resembling that of whiplash. it’s been five months, how do you even respond to that? he dropped off the face of the earth after she left, and she understood that to an extent. she’s the one who left, she’s the one who blocked him after he would constantly reach out.
she called his mum on his birthday, needing to reach out in some form, needing to know how he was. she begged her not to tell him that she phoned, something anne kept away from her son with an ache in her heart. “why now?” she mustered out, the pressure behind her eyes almost to much to bear.
he blinked, surprised by the softness in her tone.
he had expected a door slammed in his face, anger, roses thrown onto the snowy pavement. but this—a fragile, weary version of her—felt like a wound laid bare. the question hovered in the air, unanswered. he wasn't sure if he had the words to explain.
"i know i hurt you.” his voice cracked, breaking under the weight of his guilt. he hated himself for it—for leaving her, for drowning in his own mess, for not being stronger. "i thought maybe if i went away, if i fixed myself, i could come back."
"come back?” her laugh was bitter, sharp. "you think this is something you can just come back to, like nothing happened?" she shook her head, taking a step back, as if his presence was suffocating her. "you don't get it, do you? i spent my days worrying if you were okay, if i were going to find you dead on the floor next to a bag of coke. and now you just show up?"
harry flinched at her words, at the coldness in her tone, though he couldn't blame her. he had done this. he had broken this.
“i messed up," he said, his voice thick with desperation. "i know i should've done more. i should've been better f’you, but i wasn't. i’m trying now. i’ve been trying every day, YN."
she stared at him, her eyes glossed with unshed tears, but her expression was hard, unreadable.
she wasn't going to make this easy for him, and he knew it. she shouldn't. "trying?" she repeated, her voice dangerously quiet. "you’re trying now? after everything? after the lies, the broken promises? after you begged me to stay, told me you'd quit, and then i found that–” her voice broke, "–that bag? that was it for me, harry. that was it.”
harry opened his mouth to speak, but YN’s soft, wavering sniffle filled the space between them. her pretty eyes fell shut, and she muttered, “you should go.” the words barely made it past her lips before she closed the door, shutting him out in one quiet, final motion. no glance back.
for a moment, he just stood there, arm hanging loosely at his side, the roses brushing against his knee. his shoulders sagged as the reality settled—he had expected this, even told himself it was inevitable. but still, some desperate part of him had clung to hope.
with a sigh that cut deep, he turned, trudging down the narrow stairwell outside her flat. his heart felt like dead weight in his chest, and each step echoed softly, swallowed by the damp, early evening air. at the last step, he sat, letting his jeans absorb the chill from the wet concrete. he laid the flowers beside him, petals dark against the fading light, and clasped his hands in front of him, jaw tight as he fought the burning in his eyes.
harry couldn’t bring himself to go back to his house. he knew what waited for him there: bits and pieces of her, scattered reminders he couldn’t bear to see right now. a sweater still draped over his armchair. little notes she’d left him during the tour, folded scraps of her handwriting. even the faint smell of her perfume clinging to the blankets. no, he couldn’t face that.
he tilted his head back, gazing into the overcast sky. gray clouds swirled above, blurring the line between evening and night. he sniffled, noticing a modest inn just down the street, its sign hanging askew, light dimly flickering. it wasn’t much—a little rundown, with the look of a place that had seen better days. perfectly unremarkable. and right now, all he needed was a bed.
inside the hotel room, he dropped his backpack onto the chair and stood there, staring at the neatly made bed, the cheap, plush white blankets tucked in tight. the silence pressed in on him, too thick and heavy. without much thought, he shrugged off his jacket, toed off his shoes, and sank into the mattress, the springs squeaking under his weight. sleep embraced him like a reluctant lover, drifting in after nearly an hour of restless thoughts. but it didn’t stay. he awoke after just four hours, staring up at the ceiling as moonlight spilled in through the thin curtains, casting faint shadows across the room.
he groaned, reaching under his pillow for his phone, squinting as the screen lit up his face. only the usual notifications—nothing out of the ordinary, but still, he’d hoped. he didn’t know why. YN had been clear. she’d left no room for misinterpretation.
his fingers hesitated, then he opened her contact anyway. the photo still there—the one he’d taken on the tour bus last summer. a blurred shot from above, a silly close-up she’d protested, but they’d both laughed at it, something shared just between the two of them.
he typed the words, fingers slow, deliberate.
i love you.
his heart twisted as he pressed send, watching the message linger for a second before the familiar rejection—not delivered.
still blocked. still gone.
harry let his phone fall onto the mattress, dragging a hand over his face, groaning into the empty room. his chest tightened with frustration, desperation edging close to something frantic. he didn’t want to seem like he was clinging, but this couldn’t be the end, could it?
would it be futile to try again? sure. definitely in vain. he just wanted to give it one more try.
he sat up, slipping his sambas back on, the leather scuffed and worn from tour, loose enough he didn’t bother with the laces. he left the jacket where it lay, grabbed his wallet, and in a few determined strides, pushed himself through the door into the night, unwilling to let go just yet.
the cold bit at harry’s skin the moment he stepped outside, the wind cutting through his thin sweater as he walked down the dimly lit street. he barely noticed the sting. his breath puffed in front of him in small clouds, quickly dissolving into the frosty air. snow had begun to fall again, light flakes swirling under the streetlamps, but he didn’t slow down. each step was deliberate, his sneakers scuffing against the half-melted snow on the pavement, but his mind raced with a dozen unfinished thoughts. he hadn’t even grabbed his coat. he hadn’t thought it through.
he just needed to be close to her again.
the city was quiet, the usual rush dulled by the late hour and the snowfall blanketing everything in a soft silence. as he turned the corner toward her flat, his heart picked up speed, thudding painfully in his chest. her building was just down the road, its familiar outline coming into view. every step toward it felt heavier, each one laced with the weight of the unsaid things between them.
when he reached her street, he stopped for a moment, breath clouding the air in front of him as he tried to steady himself. his eyes scanned the row of cars parked along the curb, and there it was—her car, parked in the same spot it always was, snow gathering over the windshield, the roof, coating it like a layer of frost. the sight of it hit him harder than he expected. It was the last tether to her, something still close, something that made her feel real, just beyond that door.
but he didn’t go to her flat. he didn’t knock on her door. his feet carried him to her car instead, the snow crunching softly under his shoes as he approached. harry paused, standing before the vehicle, his breath hitching in his throat. his fingers hovered at his sides, the air biting into the exposed skin, but he didn’t care. the snow covering the windshield was smooth, untouched, and he stalled for a moment, the night wrapping around him like a blanket of quiet.
this was weird. he knew it was. but he couldn’t stop himself.
slowly, almost hesitantly, harry reached out, his fingertips brushing against the icy layer of snow on the glass. it was cold, stinging his skin as he dragged his fingers across the surface, but he kept going, his touch leaving a thin, delicate trail through the frost. he could feel the slight resistance as he wrote, each stroke of his finger deliberate, like the weight of his feelings pressed into every curve of the letters.
we should talk
the words were simple, almost too simple for everything he wanted to say, but they were enough. enough for a desperate message left on a windshield, at least—all he could offer now, standing out against the stark whiteness of the snow like a whisper in the dark. his hand lingered for a moment, fingers resting against the cold glass as if he could reach through the car, through the frost, and touch her somehow.
he stepped back, breath shaky, eyes fixed on the message he had left behind. the snow continued to fall, light and steady, the flakes already beginning to gather in the grooves of his writing, slowly erasing it even as he stood there. his hands dropped to his sides, curling into fists, and he closed his eyes for a long moment, the cold finally seeping into his bones. he felt exposed out here, vulnerable, like every part of him was on display in the silence of the night.
he also felt like he was doing something illegal.
but still, he couldn’t bring himself to leave. he looked up at her flat, the windows dark and still, like nothing inside had changed. for all he knew, she was asleep, completely unaware that he was standing here, just feet away. or maybe she wasn’t. maybe she was lying awake, thinking about him too, wondering what could possibly come next after everything they had been through.
the snowflakes clung to his hair, his clothes, but he didn’t move. he stood there, staring at the message on her windshield, his heart caught between hope and fear.
the words seemed to echo in the quiet, fragile and fleeting, like the snow itself. he didn’t know if she’d see them, or if the snow would bury them by morning, but for now, it was all he had left to say. he turned to walk away, his heart heavy but his resolve set. it was up to her now.
inside her flat, YN lay in bed, the dim glow of her phone the only light cutting through the darkness. she had been tossing and turning for what felt like hours, trying to force herself to sleep, but her mind kept circling back to him—harry. the knock at her door earlier had left her rattled, emotions stirring like a storm inside her. she’d shut him out, forced the door between them because it was the only way she knew how to protect herself. but it hadn’t stopped the ache in her chest.
the soft chime of her phone interrupted the silence, a faint buzz. she frowned, lifting it off the pillow beside her. the notification made her heart stutter.
ring doorbell: movement detected.
her stomach dropped. for a moment, she just stared at the screen, unsure of whether to open the app, her fingers hesitating. maybe it was just a stray cat, or the wind shaking the snow loose from the trees. but deep down, she knew. she knew who it would be.
with trembling hands, she tapped the screen, and there he was—harry. standing in the cold by her car, his figure a shadowy outline under the soft glow of the streetlamp. his hands were stuffed into his pockets, his head bowed slightly, his breath visible in the cold air. she watched, her heart pounding in her chest as he lifted a finger to the snow-covered windshield, slowly writing something in the frost. the words began to take shape, and she felt her throat tighten, her pulse quickening.
we should talk.
her heart constricted, emotions warring inside her. he hadn’t disappeared. even after she’d shut the door in his face, he was still here. the sight of him standing there, exposed to the biting cold without even a coat, tugged at something deep inside her—something she had tried to bury the night she walked away.
she swallowed hard, sitting up in bed, her fingers hovering over the phone for a moment longer. she could ignore it, let the snow cover the words he’d written and pretend none of this was happening—a biased fate. but she couldn’t shake the image of him standing there, shoulders slumped, his vulnerability written in the frost as clearly as the message itself.
with a sigh, she swung her legs out of bed and pulled on a hoodie, her mind racing. what was she even going to say to him? she was angry, she was hurt, but she also couldn’t deny the pull he still had on her. the years of love and heartache had tangled them together in a way that was impossible to untangle in one night. and now, he was standing outside her flat, waiting in the cold.
YN slipped on her shoes and grabbed her phone, her heart pounding harder with each step as she made her way to the front door. her fingers shook as she unlocked it, pulling the door open just enough to peek outside, the cold air rushing in.
there he was, standing by her car, his back to her, staring down at the message he had written, threatening to step away. his breath puffed in front of him, his head hung low as if he wasn’t sure what to do next. the sight of him, so lost and alone, tugged at her heartstrings in a way that made her chest ache.
“harry,” she called softly, her voice carrying through the quiet night.
he turned slowly, his face pale in the moonlight, eyes wide with surprise. for a second, he just stared at her, as if unsure if she was real or some apparition conjured up by his restless mind.
maybe he got frostbite and this is the last thing he’d see before decaying into the snow, he thought.
but then his expression softened, his shoulders relaxing just slightly, though the tension in his eyes remained.
she stepped out onto the snowy path, the cold biting at her skin as she approached him. “what are you doing here?” her voice was steadier than she felt, but the cracks in her resolve showed through.
“i–” he faltered, glancing down at the words on the windshield, then back up at her. “i’m sorry. i’m not stalker. i just–” he paused, sighing exasperatedly. “m’blocked and had to try.”
her breath caught in her throat, the rawness in his voice unraveling her. she looked down at the words he’d written in the snow, her heart twisting painfully at the sight of them. he was trying, she knew that. but it didn’t make it any easier. her chest tightened, memories of him crashing over her in waves—good ones, bad ones, all tangled together in a mess of emotions she hadn’t quite sorted through. she opened her mouth to speak, but the words jumbled in her mouth, only letting out a delicate, fleeting stutter. she wanted to stay strong, to protect herself, but looking at him now, standing in the freezing night without so much as a coat, the walls she’d built began to crack. “you don’t even have a coat,” she whispered, her voice softer now, laced with concern.
he looked down at himself, almost sheepish, his lips curling into the faintest of smiles. “i didn’t really think.”
her heart ached at the sight of him, so lost, so vulnerable. for all the hurt, for all the walls she’d tried to put up, a part of her still missed him—missed this. missed the sound of his voice, the way he always found his way back to her, even when things seemed broken beyond repair.
before she could stop herself, the words slipped out. “come inside.”
harry blinked, surprised, and for a moment he didn’t move, as if he couldn’t believe what he’d heard. YN stepped aside, opening the door wider, the warmth from inside spilling out into the cold. “you’re freezing, and we need to talk,” she said, more firmly this time, gesturing to her snowy windshield he wrote upon.
he hesitated for a beat, then nodded, shuffling forward. she watched as he walked past her, his footsteps slow and unsure, like he was afraid the invitation might disappear if he moved too quickly. once he was inside, she closed the door behind them, the soft click of the lock somehow louder in the quiet that followed.
the contrast between the freezing air outside and the muted heat inside hit him all at once, his body tensing, unsure if he should relax. the space felt familiar, yet foreign—like stepping into a memory that had shifted in his absence. the soft hum of the radiator, the faint scent of her lavender diffuser, the quiet—all of it made his chest tighten.
he stood by the door, unsure of what to do with himself. his hands hovered at his sides before he stuffed them into his pockets, glancing around.
the apartment was exactly as he remembered, yet somehow smaller, more intimate. her big winter coat was draped over a chair, a half-finished cup of tea sat on the coffee table, and a pile of books lay stacked by the corner of the couch. there were still traces of their life together—small things, like the framed picture on the shelf they made together on a whim—glued seashells and colorful iridescent beads. the frame was still there, but the photo had been replaced, its new image hidden behind a layer of dust. he didn’t know what it was, all he knew is that he didn’t see the familiar photo of them at his mum’s house during christmas.
he couldn’t shake the feeling that he was erased, like a ghost she had swept away in her effort to move forward.
his throat tightened as he took in the subtle changes, the pieces of her life that had moved on without him.
she hadn't moved far from the door, standing with her arms wrapped around herself, her eyes flicking between him and the room, as if she, too, was seeing the space differently now that he was in it again. her silence isn't cold, but it wasn't inviting either. It was careful.
“you can sit." she murmured, nodding toward the couch, her voice steady but distant. "if you want."
harry hesitated, then nodded, slowly making his way to the couch. he moved carefully, as though the wrong movement might shatter the fragile understanding between them. he sat down, feeling the familiar creak of the old cushions beneath him. the last time he'd been here, he hadn't thought twice about dropping onto this couch, sprawled out with her beside him, both of them laughing at something ridiculous. now, every inch of space between them felt heavy.
she moved to the armchair across from him, settling into it with her legs tucked underneath her, but still keeping a distance. she watched him, her gaze cautious, as though waiting for him to explain himself. to fill the silence.
harry opened his mouth to speak, but nothing came at first. his mind was a blur, his heart pounding louder than the words he wanted to say.
he looked at her, really looked at her for the first time since he walked in. she seemed different, but not in a way he could pinpoint. her hair seemed softer, her glasses discarded, left upstairs on the nightstand. she had a new freckle he didn’t notice till now, and it immediately fell into the category of his favorite parts about her. “i don't even know where to start," he finally admitted, his voice low, breaking the stillness.
she didn't respond right away, just looked at him, her expression unreadable. "then why are you here?" she asked softly, her tone not accusing, but raw, like she was trying to understand. "you disappeared and now you’re back with no words.”
his breath caught, and he shook his head quickly, trying to explain. "no, i didn’t–” he paused, sighing, running a hand through his hair. "i didn't just leave like that. you left me, YN. that night, you walked out and–”
"–of course I did," she cut him off, her voice rising slightly. "you didn't give me a choice. i couldn’t recognize you. you relied on blow, harry. it wasn’t just for fun.”
harry flinched at the words, guilt settling like a heavy stone in his chest. he’d seen it happening, but at the time, he couldn't pull himself out of the spiral. "i know i fucked up. but leaving me? blocking me?—" his voice caught, raw emotion surfacing as he gestured helplessly. "y’just just cut me off. i had my slip ups, and i regret it immensely, y’didn’t deserve that. y’promised one more chance, and that i did. you found an old bag and didn’t even give me the benefit of the doubt.”
her face hardened, her arms tightening around herself as she shook her head. "i couldn't watch you destroy yourself anymore. that bag wasn't just an accident, h. it was a reminder of everything i’d been fighting to save you from. and you–you didn't see it. all you saw was me leaving, that’s it.”
his heart ached at the truth in her words, the weight of his failures crashing down on him. he ran a hand down his face, pinching his bottom lip, frustration and pain coursing through him. "i cared. god, i cared. but i didn't know how to pull myself out of it. i didn't know how t’fix what i was breaking. ‘nd then you were gone, and i didn't know how to–how t’do it without you."
the silence that followed was heavy, both of them sitting there, lost in the mess of emotions that had been left behind. YN looked away, her jaw clenched, her eyes misting over as she stared at the floor. the tension in the room was suffocating, the distance between them widening, and harry felt himself slipping, like everything he had come here to say was unraveling before he even had the chance.
"i didn't want to hurt you," he said softly, his voice barely a whisper. "i never wanted to be that person. i’m trying to be better, YN. i’m getting help. i’ve been sober since halloween. m’not perfect, but i’m getting better.”
her gaze flicked back to him, her expression softening just slightly, the anger fading into something quieter, something sadder. "you should have told me," she whispered. "i was supposed to be your person, harry. you shut me out, and I had to pick up your pieces on my own."
he swallowed hard, the knot in his throat tightening. "i know. and i’m so sorry. for everything. i’m here now because i don't want to lose you. not again."
she didn't respond right away, her eyes searching his face, as if looking for the man she had once loved—the man she wasn't sure still existed. but something in the way she looked at him, the way her guard wavered, told him that part of her still wanted to believe him. still wanted to believe in them. "you’re asking me to trust you again," she said finally, her voice small, barely above a whisper. “i don't know if i can."
“m’not asking for your trust.” his lip quivered, shaking his head as he slipped from the couch onto the carpet. he crawled over to her, sitting on his heels as he hesitantly raised his large, cold hands to her knees.
it felt like a shock, his touch in general and the temperature of his hands. his eyes burrowed into hers, as if silently gauging on whether he was crossing a line.
“i love you. even if y’never want to be my love again. i just want back in. i want to know you’re okay. i want to be able to send you a good morning text, or if you’d like to come to the studio like y’use to.” his voice almost sounded like that of a whimper, a stray tear falling from bloodshot eyes. “i can’t live without even a semblance of you in my life.”
she let out a choked sob, quickly wiping her fallen tears with the back of her hand. “don’t say that, harry.”
he ducked his head, leaning in to catch her averted gaze again. he rubbed small circles into her kneecap with his thumb, his voice cracking. “i don’t mean it a horrible way. yes, i can live.” he sadly chuckled, trying to backtrack how pathetic he must’ve sounded. “it just won’t feel like a life without you in it.”
her hand was hesitant, painfully hesitant as she stretched it out toward harry’s, softly lying it over his. she stared down at his hands, his skin warming just being against her, though his medal rings were still cool to the touch. she traced the veins with a shaky breath, shifting her eyes up his arm, past his shoulder, and finally onto his face. his cheeks were red, glistening in the warm glow of the lamp from his tears. his lips were swollen, hair disheveled and a bit damp from the melted snowflakes. “i want you in my life, too.”
his gaze was unwavering, all he could do was squeeze her knee gently, urging her to continue.
“slowly. friends, just friends. and we can see what happens from there.”
it felt like a weight lifted off his shoulders, a weight that only got heavier after five months.
he wanted to kiss her, tell her how in love with her he was. he wanted to hold her until the sun rose, he wanted to put their stupid christmas photo back into their diy picture frame. he wanted to kiss the ground she walked on and follow her around like a lost puppy. he wanted her to be his again.
but friends? it’s a start. it’s something he could live with. even if all she remained was his friend, he would still thank his lucky starts for her decision to come back.
he couldn’t control his tears at that point, moving his hands from her knees to loop his arms around in a makeshift hug around her legs.
it reminded him of the time he had begged her to stay.
but this time he wasn’t begging, he was thankful.
he nestled his head between her thighs as his shoulders shook from his sobs. she combed her fingers through his hair, softly shushing him and reminding him it’ll be okay.
her pink silk pajama bottoms dampened from his sorrow, a messy mixture of his tears, snot and saliva staining the fabric as he let out his loud whimpers, but she didn’t mind. her fingers fell from his curls onto his back, tracing soft circles into the trembling muscles.
his raw, unguarded grief tore her heart in two, each shuddering sob a reminder of the man she loved, a man who was struggling to rise from the ruin he’d left in his wake. and in the quiet of the room, as his sobs filled the space, she realized his tears, painful as they were—were stitching back together the shredded pieces of her heart.
he’s healing. he’s sober. he’s alive.
and that was enough.

As October settled in, the air grew crisp, carrying with it the scent of fallen leaves. Your neighborhood began to glow with an eerie charm — orange and purple lights strung along rooftops, spider webs draped haphazardly over bushes, and grinning jack-o'-lanterns perched on porches, their flickering candles casting shadows on the pavement. It was your first Halloween in your new home, and excitement buzzed in the air. You and Jack had spent the last few weeks transforming your house into a Halloween wonderland, determined to embrace the spooky season in full.
“This is going to be such a good Halloween,” you said, standing in the kitchen surrounded by packages of candy. You poured another mountain of treats into the bowl, feeling like a kid yourself.
Jack, lounging against the counter, raised an eyebrow and smirked. “You know we’re probably gonna be that house, right? The one that gives out so much candy the kids talk about it all year?”
You grinned back, unbothered. “Good! We never got to do this in the apartment. We’re going all out.” You tossed another bag of chocolates into the mix, the bowl overflowing now.
Your previous apartment building didn’t have many kids, and handing out candy was never part of your Halloween traditions. But this year, nestled in a family-filled suburb, it felt like you were finally getting the Halloween you’d always wanted — the decorations, the costumes, the eager trick-or-treaters. You could hardly wait.
When the doorbell rang for the first time, you practically leapt off the couch. “They’re here!” you squealed, racing to the door like a child on Christmas morning. Swinging it open, you were greeted by a group of tiny witches, superheroes, and a very tiny dinosaur with a tail too long for his legs. Their eyes widened at the sight of your candy bowl, and you couldn’t resist giving them extra, their excitement contagious.
You watched them scamper off down the walkway, their candy bags bouncing, before collapsing onto the couch next to Jack, who had Ghostbusters queued up on the TV. “There was this little dinosaur, and his tail kept dragging behind him,” you laughed, snuggling under his arm. “It was adorable.”
“Is that what happens every time the door opens? You’re going to give me a recap of all the costumes you see?” Jack smirked, pulling you in closer.
“Absolutely,” you grinned, poking him playfully. “I don’t want you missing out on all the cuteness.”
And that’s exactly what you did. Each time the doorbell rang, you bounded up, eager to meet the next batch of trick-or-treaters. After every encounter, you’d return to Jack, excitedly recounting the different costumes — witches, zombies, fairies, and one memorable kid dressed as a very squishy marshmallow. Jack would laugh at your eagerness, but you could tell he enjoyed each one of your recaps.
Between the rounds of doorbell dashes, you and Jack sank into the movie, the Halloween vibe settling in like a comfortable blanket around you. The evening was perfect — the glow of the porch lights, the hum of neighborhood excitement, and Jack’s arm wrapped around you, making it all feel just right.
As the night began to slow and fewer knocks came, the doorbell rang one last time. You jumped up, still full of energy. “I’ve got it!” you called, already halfway to the door.
Opening it, you were greeted by a sight that made you freeze — a kid fully decked out in hockey gear, pads, helmet, gloves, and all. But what caught your attention was the jersey. The black, white, and red jersey stood out in the dark, the 86 on the sleeve glimmering under the porch light.
“Trick or treat!” the small voice squeaked from beneath the helmet.
Your jaw dropped as you let out a small gasp. “Oh my gosh, you look amazing!” you gushed. “Hold on—there’s someone who has to see this.”
You darted back into the living room, grabbing Jack by the arm. “Come on, you’ve gotta see this!”
Jack, confused but curious, paused the movie and followed you to the door. The second he saw the mini-hockey player in his own jersey, his eyes widened in surprise. The kid looked up, eyes shining as he recognized Jack.
“You’re Jack Hughes!” the little boy said, his voice filled with awe.
Jack crouched down to the kid’s level, smiling. “Looking good out there, bud,” he said, adjusting the boy’s helmet so it wasn’t covering his eyes.
The kid's dad, standing at the end of the walkway, waved his phone. “Would it be alright if we got a picture?” he asked, clearly as excited as his son.
“Of course,” Jack grinned. He knelt beside the kid, who raised his hockey stick proudly. You quickly snapped a few photos, capturing the pure joy on both their faces.
Before they headed off, you grabbed two fistfuls of candy and dropped them into the boy’s sack. “You get some extra candy for having the best costume we’ve seen all night,” you told him, smiling as he skated on his roller blades down the walkway.
Jack stood there for a moment, still processing what had just happened. You could see a soft smile tugging at the corner of his mouth as he watched the boy skate off.
“That was seriously cool,” Jack admitted, sliding his arm around your waist.
You nudged him playfully. “You’re a little stunned, huh?”
Jack chuckled, his eyes still lingering on the street where the kid had disappeared. “Yeah, I mean, it's one thing to see people wearing my jersey at games, but that little guy was really into it. He looked like he was having the best night of his life.”
There was a warmth in his voice, a mix of pride and disbelief. “It’s gotta feel pretty surreal seeing a kid look up to you like that,” you said, guiding him back into the house, his eyes still going back to the kid who was far down the street now.
Jack nodded, his smile widening as you took your places on the couch once more. “It just… it reminds me that this whole hockey thing is bigger than just me, you know? Seeing him so pumped, dressed as me for Halloween… it kind of makes it all feel worth it in a different way. A way that’s not just for me.”
You could tell that moment meant more to him than he let on. His eyes glinted with that same spark he had when he was passionate about something, and you loved seeing him like that.
As you both settled back onto the couch, you leaned your head on Jack’s shoulder, feeling the warmth of the moment settle in. “You made that kid’s night,” you said softly, glancing up at him.
Jack’s arm tightened around you, and he pressed a kiss to the top of your head. “I think he made mine too,” he replied, his voice filled with a contentment that made your heart swell.
As the credits rolled on the movie, you sighed happily. “Best Halloween ever,” you murmured, smiling to yourself.
Jack chuckled, resting his chin on your head. “You always say that,” he teased.
You laughed, looking up at him. “Well, this time I mean it.”
He grinned down at you, his eyes twinkling with affection. “Good. Because I kind of want to make this our new tradition. Decorating, handing out candy, watching you light up with every costume… I could get used to this.”
You leaned up and kissed him softly, feeling that familiar, comforting warmth between you. “Me too,” you whispered. “Me too.”
As you both sat there, the last remnants of Halloween fading into the quiet night, you couldn’t help but think about how special this first Halloween in your new home had been. It wasn’t just the decorations or the candy or even the costumes — it was the moments, big and small, that made it unforgettable. Moments like Jack seeing a kid in his jersey, or the way you both had embraced the evening together, fully present and happy.
And you knew that no matter how many Halloweens came after this one, this would always be the one that set the bar.

The house smelled of bread, the tap running as you washed your hands under it. Daryl has been on an expedition for about three weeks now, leaving you with nothing else to do but keep yourself busy. You got a lot of stuff done but you were still lonely.
You hummed to yourself as you moved over to the stove, taking a wooden spoon and stirring the tomato soup you were cooking. The sun was just starting to set, golden rays peeked through the curtains to leave kisses on your cheeks when you turned your head to the right. You lifted the spoon up to your lips, savouring the savoury but sweet taste of the soup. Something was missing, perhaps a bit of garlic? Thyme? You put some more of both in, stirring the soup a bit before tasting it again. A smile appeared on your face after deciding it was good enough, turning off the stove and putting the lid on top of the pot.
You bent down to check on the bread in the oven, the smell of sweet yeast filling your nostrils. It was perfect, nicely rounded and crisp on the outside. Closing the oven, you turned it off and reached back to undo your apron.
You almost missed the sound of the door opening, but you didn't. You quickly ran out of the kitchen and towards the entryway, seeing Daryl wiping his boots on the mat. You didn't think twice before jumping at him, hearing a grunt from him as he caught you with one arm, the other holding his bag. You kissed his cheeks repeatedly, his face scrunching up while the hand on your back gently rubbed you.
“Alrigh’ not too much,” he mumbled before setting you down and kissing your forehead. You looked down sheepishly, hugging him again.
“Sorry, I missed you.” You murmured, his calloused hand making its way through your hair while he smiled slightly.
“Dun’ apologize,” he chuckled. He smelled of sweat and mud with a hint of walker blood, but you didn't seem to care at all. The aroma was oddly comforting, and just the presence of him was enough for you. Deciding to revel in the moment, you snuggled into his chest as a soft sigh escaped your lips.
“How was your trip?” You breathed in, taking in his scent. He kept a hand on your lower back, shuffling you both out of the entryway of your home and placing his bag down. He just exhaled deeply at your question, his fingers tightening a little.
“Jus’ ta same ol’ thing.” He mumbled with a bit of a shrug as he let you go, “killed a bunch of walkers, found some supplies. Same ol’ song and dance.” His hand landed on your shoulder and gave you a reassuring squeeze after noticing your concern. You however did not let it go.
“What’s wrong, hm?” You brought your arms up to his shoulders, looking up at him. He sighed, wrapping his own arms around your waist as his gaze darted around the house. His brows furrowed slightly, his expression changing.
“Nothin’, nothin’..” he muttered shaking his head, “jus’ got a lot in my head.” You frowned but didn't want to press further, instead nodding and moving away to let him get settled.
Daryl’s jaw clenched as he watched you move away from him, feeling slightly disappointed that the physical contact was broken. The moment quickly passed as his head perked up at the smell of freshly baked bread. You noticed his expression and chuckled, taking his hand.
“Want me to run you a bath? You can eat afterwards,” you smiled softly at him. He visibly tensed at the mention of a bath, his hand squeezing yours.
“Nah, ‘m good.” He sniffed, wiping his nose. You scrunched up your nose, chuckling.
“You sure? You’ve been out for three weeks, you're dirty.” You snorted, looking him up and down. You were right, his clothes were gross and probably stinky, his hair disheveled. “You're taking a bath, come.” You gently tugged him along with you.
“Alright… I’ll… I’ll take a bath,” he grumbled, his tone laced with annoyance. You rubbed his hand gently and entered the bathroom with him.
Daryl sighed heavily and his shoulders slumped, but he allowed himself to be dragged around by you. He stood by the counter while you went to fill up the bath with warm water, eventually returning back to him. You placed your hands on the buttons of his vest, looking up at him for permission to undress him.
His eyes shifted to the side slightly, uncomfortable under your scrutiny. His expression changed once your nimble fingers started unbuttoning his vest slowly, and after looking into your eyes for a few seconds more, he looked away and muttered, “go for it.”
You smiled at him softly, letting his vest fall to the floor before starting at his button-up. He stood by silently, watching you undress him without making any comments. The process felt slightly intimate and he felt a warm feeling in his stomach as he looked over you, and he didn't protest or try to stop you from doing your thing.
You let his shirt fall next to his vest, letting your fingers trace along the muscles of his arm, watching them tense under your graze. His breath hitched as your fingers danced down his sides, landing on his holster belt. You carefully unbuckled it and placed it on the counter.
He shifted his weight, continuing to stand silent as you did what you wanted. He couldn’t ignore the feelings of intimacy beginning to rise within him. Your hands slid back down to the belt holding up his pants, unbuckling it with practiced skill. Your fingers soon unbuttoned and unzipped his pants, letting it fall to the floor. Daryl shivered lightly at the sudden coolness on his skin, looking down at you for a moment, his expression shifting slightly at how eager you seemed to be at undressing him.
You looked up at him briefly before pulling down his boxers, looking away to give him some sort of privacy. He quickly turned towards the mirror, seemingly avoiding his image as he turned away just as quick. You turned back to him and smiled softly, taking his hand and kissing it gently. He felt his skin warming up and his cheeks flushed slightly, you’ve seen him naked before but this felt more intimate… somehow. The situation made him feel quite vulnerable, but despite his discomfort he remained silent and still.
You squeezed his hand reassuringly and led him towards the tub. Daryl followed you, feeling a tingle in his abdomen from the butterflies you arouse in him. He stepped into the bath, groaning softly once he sunk down into the waiting water. His eyes closed, letting out a sigh of relief as he relaxed in the warmth of the bath. You leaned over to turn off the tap, letting him sit in silence.
“Wait here? I’m just gonna put your clothes away and get you some new ones,” you murmured softly, watching his eyes peek open to look at you. He nodded contently, closing his eyes again. You nodded and left the bathroom quietly with his dirty clothes.
Daryl sat in the bath, leaning back against the rim. He was starting to feel more and more relaxed by the minute as he let the warm water wash away some of the filth on his skin. He sat patiently for a few minutes while waiting for your return.
You came back into the bathroom, some clean clothes and a rag in hand. The clean clothes were placed on the counter while the rag remained in your hand as you walked over to the tub, kneeling down next to it.
“Mind if I wash you?” You hummed. Daryl’s eyes flickered up to you for a moment, his face lightly flushed as he felt a little insecure about his body.
“Sure… go for it,” he grumbled hesitantly, his eyes looking away. You smiled reassuringly, leaning forward to kiss his forehead. You lifted the rag and began slowly by scrubbing his chest, followed by his arms. Daryl flinched slightly at the touch, his muscles rippled and tightened as you grazed over his flesh. He forced himself to stay still, but even that was a lot to bear sometimes. With each stroke of the rag, his breath hitched.
“Relax,” you coaxed quietly into his ear. “Lean forward, lemme get your back.”
Daryl frowned slightly but obeyed your instruction, leaning forward in the tub to expose his back to you. He bit his lip nervously, though you’ve seen them before, he was still self-conscious about the scars on his body.
He grimaced whenever you would brush over the scarred skin, making the scars feel more pronounced. He hated the reminder of his past, always trying to run from it. But he loved you, and he knew that letting you see him like this was a way of accepting what happened and moving forward with his life. He wasn't used to this physical intimacy, but he felt okay being vulnerable with you.
You made sure to be gentle, and your soft actions didn't go unnoticed by him. Daryl let himself relax and reminded himself you were safe, letting go of the tension in his body as you washed away the dirt left on him. You kissed his shoulder sweetly, letting your free hand come up to run through his tangled hair.
“Okay, lean back.” You whispered softly, a gentle hand pushing him back. He complied once again, sighing softly as he felt your fingers combing through his thick hair trying to loosen the knots.
The two of you stayed silent throughout the exchange, the only noise was the water occasionally splashing or dripping. Your touch was comforting despite his initial discomfort, he began to sink into the water while his muscles relaxed. You were the first to break the comfortable silence.
“I need to drain the water, I’ll put some more since I still need to wash your hair. Unless you wanna get out now?” You hummed quietly, making sure not to startle him by the sudden noise. He shifted slightly and used his arm to prop himself up so he could sit.
“’s up to ya,” he mumbled. “I wouldn’ mind stayin’ in ‘ere longer, but I dun’ want ya ta have ta wait on me.” He rubbed his bottom lip anxiously, nibbling on the inside of it.
“I don't mind,” you smiled while shaking your head. You reached into the tub to drain the dirty water before grabbing the shower head and beckoning him closer, “let me wash your hair first.”
He looked at you for a long moment, nodding cautiously as he scooted over to you, bowing his head. You turned on the shower head, rinsing his hair so it was damp before taking some shampoo and lathering it into his hair. You soothingly scratched your nails against his scalp. His eyes shut tight, letting himself relax as you scrubbed his hair clean. The soothing sensation felt nice, although he couldn't deny how it made him feel…
You pulled your hands out of his hair to rinse out the shampoo. Daryl sat stoically, trying to rid himself of certain thoughts, his breathing deepened however as you washed his hair. The warm water and your touch sent a wave of chills down his spine. You soon turned off the water and fixed his wet hair so it was out his face, filling the tub with warm water again.
His mind started wandering again, his eyes darting around as you fixed his hair. It felt weird to have someone do something like this for him, but he didn't mind it. He trusted you, he loved you, and you helped him feel comfortable and safe in his own skin. He let his thoughts melt away into mush as he enjoyed the warmth of the water and the soft touches your fingers were giving to his hair.
“Gimme a kiss?” You smiled softly, leaning forward. He froze for a moment, intimidated by the sudden request, his face flushing. He thought for a moment if he wanted to, of course he did, but he wasn't big on physicality.
He grumbled nervously, looking away from your expectant eyes. Your smile faltered slightly, and he noticed. You pulled back and got up.
“Never mind, just holler when you're done.” You walked over to the door, “I’ll be in the kitchen.”
He awkwardly watched you walk away, clenching his fists. He felt guilty, he shouldn't but he still felt bad for rejecting you. The truth was, he really did want to kiss you.
“Wait!” He called out, watching you poke your head back in.
“Hm?”
Daryl was hesitant in the moment, not wanting to embarrass himself further. Still, he felt the need to explain himself. “’s not tha’ I dun’ wan’ ta kiss ya,” he said softly and let his shoulders sink into the water. “’s jus’ tha’…”
You cut him off, kneeling by the tub again while caressing the back of his head. “Don’t worry about it, you don't have to kiss me if you don't want to.” You smiled sweetly up at him.
He exhaled softly at your response, licking his lips. He knew you were trying to make him feel better, but he still heard the genuine reassurance.
“But I do,” he whispered. “Can we uh… can we maybe try somethin’?” You hummed in response and knelt up to his level.
His breathing deepened at the sight of you, years of being married to you and he still felt weak in the knees every time he saw you. He felt a nervous excitement in his stomach, much like the feeling he had asking you to marry him. Your eyes flickered closed as he started to lean in, his closing too. When his hands came up, his fingers found your neck and traced your jawline softly. Your body felt familiar and warm, inviting in every way. You leaned closer, and he was worried you could hear his heart beating a million miles a minute. His hands cupped your face, his thumbs brushing your cheeks. Your breath against his lips made him tremble.
Your lips met softly, and you sighed into the kiss. It’s been three weeks since you two had kissed, and you needed this. You needed the reassurance he still loved you like you loved him.
And of course he did, he never stopped loving you since the day you met. His lips felt soft on yours, warm breaths filling you both with tenderness. But most of all, it felt so natural.
His eyes kept closed, not wanting to disrupt the moment. He wanted to get lost in the moment, to forget everything in the world and focus on the way you made him feel.
Eventually, you pulled back, smoothening your hand over his hair as you stood up. “I’ll be in the kitchen, want me to help you get out and change, or do you think you can manage?”
“I wan’ yer help,” he said shyly, slowly looking up at you. “If ya dun’ mind doin’ tha’.”
“Of course, you wanna get out now or soak for a little bit longer?” You smiled at him while combing through his hair. He chuckled and nodded, he wanted to finish this up quickly.
“I wanna get out, then we can get ta cuddlin’ or somethin’.” He smirked, chuckling when you slapped his shoulder lightly. You went to drain the water before moving towards the counter to grab his towel. He followed after you, groaning softly as he stood up and walked over to you. His body shivered slightly as he held his arms up, letting you towel him off. You kept him warm and comfortable, his eyes trailing over the way your lashes curled, his muscles relaxing again as you finished.
You smiled up at him and pecked his lips briefly before handing him his boxers, seeing his eyes flicker with desire at the slight touch on his lips. He took his underwear and slipped them on, feeling butterflies swarm in his belly. You handed him some sweatpants, followed by his shirt. He pulled on his clothes, sighing on relief as he was fully covered again.
“There we go,” you murmured. “We can get to cuddling in a bit, you hungry?” You grinned knowing very well he was quite hungry after his trip. Your suspicions were correct when his stomach growled on cue, his head nodding curtly.
“Tha’d be nice…” he glanced down at you. “Then we can cuddle after?” You nodded and led him out of the bathroom, into the kitchen where you had set up a plate of bread and tomato soup. His eyes widened when he saw his plate of food, the freshly baked bread making a delightful assault on his senses.
“Smells amazin’,” he chuckled and sat down at the table, “ya made this?” He asked, dipping his bread in the soup and savouring each bite.
“Mhm,” you smiled warmly as you took your own plate and sat in front of him. You both sat in warm silence, enjoying each other’s company as you both continued to eat. He felt your warmth and love just from the way you cooked this meal for him.
“Thank you fer this,” he mumbled, finishing up his food. You hummed in response, taking both your plates over to the sink.
“It’s not much,” you shrugged as you washed the dishes. As you washed your dishes, Daryl’s mind began to wander. You cooked dinner, gave him a bath, helped him change, been so attentive and caring, but you didn't seem to want anything in return. He wanted to repay you for your kindness, for making him feel comfortable and safe in your hands. He wasn't sure what to do, but he knew he wanted to make you feel appreciated.
“We can cuddle now,” you turned to him, wiping your hands. He nodded lightly, his eyes roaming over your figure as he walked over to you. He felt pleasant with a sense of fullness, his arms wrapping around your waist tightly as you both walked towards your bedroom. You let him sit on the bed first, kissing his forehead. “Hang on, just gotta change into my slip.” He nodded, sitting at the foot of the bed while waiting for you to come back.
You soon emerged from the closet, wearing a deep red slip dress. His eyes locked on you and they widened at the sight, swallowing as you got closer to him.
“Ya look beautiful,” he breathed as you stood in front of him, his head tilted back to look up at you, placing his hands on your hips. You sighed softly when he pulled you onto his lap, his fingers tracing up and down your thighs, your body fitting perfectly with his.
“I missed you,” you whispered, a slight pout on your face as you let your fingertips rest on his cheeks.
“I missed ya too,” he whispered back, the feeling of being empty and lonely without you slowly ebbing away. He leaned in, kissing you gently. The intimacy finding its way into him again, the comforting feeling of your body on his was warm and welcoming.
You kissed him back, your hands moving down to rest on his shoulders. His hands moved from your hips, up to your waist, rubbing circles into your sides with his thumbs. He wanted to make up for lost time.
The atmosphere suddenly felt hotter, your kisses getting more desperate and intense while his hands moved back down to your hips. He pulled you closer onto him, pulling your body flush against his. You groaned into his mouth as you started rocking your hips against his, hearing him groan as well. The arousal between the two of you started to rise, the intensity of your grinding made your slip ride up. Daryl groaned at the sight of your full, plush thighs, his erection pressing against you. You were so delicate, but so eager.
Each movement you made, sent waves of pleasure up his body. His hands gripped tight onto your thighs, grunting against your neck as you pulled him close. The more you ground against him, the more your slip rode up and revealed your panties.
His breath hitched as you continued to roll your hips, he leaned back on his elbows and looked up at you. The way your lips were parted, the sight of your flimsy underwear eliciting a moan from him. His dick grew harder as his entire body trembled with arousal, placing one hand on your hip.
“Fuck… yer so sexy,” he bit her lip, pushing your slip up with one large hand. He sat up to fully remove your slip, tossing it onto the floor and immediately ravishing your breasts. You yelped, a hand moving to the back of his head as his mouth sucked on the flesh on your chest.
A soft breathy moan left your lips as his mouth wrapped around one of your nipples, biting down gently. One of his hands moved to squeeze your ass, lifting you up slightly before directly placing you atop his erection. You whined at the feeling, squirming on him. He growled against your breast, squeezing the other as he lifted his head to look at you.
“Go on baby, do yer thing.” He whispered breathlessly, watching you grind down on him. Your panties shifted whenever you moved, letting him get a glimpse of your folds. He kept his eyes on your mound, reaching forward to rub circles over your clothed clit. You let out a mewl, biting your lip.
Evidence of your arousal quickly seeped through the thin fabric shielding yourself, smearing over his sweatpants the harder you grounded. Daryl let out a deep groan of approval, taking his thumb away from your clit and licking the wetness off of it. You almost felt yourself squirt right there but you held off, pushing him down onto his back.
He grunted at the gesture, grabbing your hips but grinning as you pushed his hands away. He just sighed and lay back, looking down as you got off of him to pull his pants and boxers off. He groaned at the feeling of his cock springing out, slapping against his stomach. He tried to sit up again but you wouldn't let him, instead pulling off your panties and sitting on his lower stomach. He smirked up at you, his gaze wandering up and down your body.
“Let me sit up, I wanna touch ya properly.” He chuckled, gaining a nod of approval. He quickly sat up, his hands on your ass as he shuffled you both onto the bed. He moved the pillows to the side and sat against the headboard, grinning cheekily at you. You giggled back at him, feeling his cock twitch against your ass. “Gonna take care of me?”
“You bet your ass I’m gonna,” you sneered, reaching behind you to run your fingers along his length. He hissed through his teeth, narrowing his eyes as he looked right at you. His grip tightened on your ass, a low growl in his throat as he waited for you to take this further.
You took the hint, lifting yourself up and grabbing onto his length firmly. Daryl’s breath hitched as he reached out to spread your folds with his thumb, licking his lips at how wet you were. His thumb drifted towards your clit again, drawing out a whine from you. He chuckled at your desperation, thinking he had the upper hand, but you quickly proved him otherwise.
Instead of sinking down on him like he thought you were going to, you ran his tip along your slit, circling your clit. You caught the way his eyes rolled back and his fingers twitched, a soft whimper escaping his lips. You smirked a little, letting his tip invade through your entrance, quickly pulling it out. He growled at your teasing, grabbing your hips and trying to push you down onto his cock.
“Nuh uh Dixon, patience.” You coaxed, caressing his hair. He grumbled, letting go of your hips and letting his hands fall by his side. You continued with the slight teasing, letting the head of his cock in and out, just the tip nothing more. He threw his head back, closing his eyes as his body trembled with the need to just flip you over and take you the way he needed. But he relented and let you do your thing.
You watched as his chest heaved with every heavy breath he took, leaning down to kiss his forehead. He closed his mouth at the gesture, sighing softly as the same butterflies swarmed in his belly again. The feeling of your love was too much for him, the tenderness of it all putting him at ease. At this moment you decided it would be a good time to slam down onto him, evoking a loud moan from both of you. His brows furrowed as he felt your walls flutter around his length, his hands squeezing your hips as to stabilize himself. He almost came right there, the both of you had been deprived of intimacy for three weeks. So you both knew this wouldn't last long.
“Jesus… fuckin’ christ woman,” he groaned. “Ya made me hit my head on the headboard.” You stifled a laugh, earning a glare from him. His hands played around the small of your back, leaning in to kiss you.
You met his lips with equal need, parting your lips to let his tongue slither in. The taste of bread and tomato soup lingering on his tongue. As you two made out, you tested the waters by inching him out slowly and inching him back in. He pulled away from the kiss, his eyes still closed by his face twitched before landing in the crook of your neck. You smiled and wrapped your arms around his head, his arms wrapping around your back as you moved slowly. His breath was hot and heavy and you could hear the occasional whimper and whine from him whenever you’d swivel your hips. You let yourself go and let out your own moans, his hands dancing along your back as you rolled your hips.
Your clit rubbed on the tuff of hair above his cock, moaning wildly at the sensation. His lips kept busy as he sucked the skin on your neck, biting and leaving marks on the blank canvas. Your nails dug into his shoulders, feeling him tense at the feeling but not protesting.
“Ah… Dar,” you breathed. The nickname slipped off the tip of your tongue so naturally, you felt his cock twitch against your walls. His hands rested on your back, leaning back to then dive in between your breasts. He raised his hands to squish the two mounds of flesh together, kissing each nipple softly. You let out a breathless giggle, curling your fingers into his hair. He peered up at you through his eyebrows, licking up the curve of your breast and swirling around the nipple, his thumb doing the same to the other.
You sighed, throwing your head back and closing your eyes and you started to lift yourself up and down on his length. Feeling the way you contracted around his cock, hearing the hiss from his mouth. He let your breasts go, his hands drifting down to your ass once again. He gently guided you up and down his cock, biting his lip to muffled his moans.
Daryl’s hand came to rub your clit again, this time harder than before. Your hips jerked forward, whining at the sensitive feeling. “C’mon, ‘m gonna cum… wan’ ya ta cum wit’ me.” He groaned into your hair.
You nodded, your eyes still closed as you rode him faster. The way you tightened around him allowed you to feel every inch and every vein on his cock, the head brushing against your sweet spot with every rock of your hips. Your mouth fell open to let out whatever noises you could make in the moment, one of your hands on the back of his neck while the other remained tangled in his hair.
You rode him hard, the bed rocking with every movement and the headboard hit the wall a few times. Yet the sound of your moans reverberated through the room, your noises going straight to Daryl’s cock as he bucked his hips up into you. The way he did it allowed him to hit your sweet spot perfectly, and also threw you off the edge.
Stars were all you could see as your movements halted, your mouth open in a silent cry of pleasure as you came. But he didn't yet.
“Fuck… ya came without me?” He growled, biting your shoulder before pushing you down onto your back and ramming himself in and out of your sensitive cunt. This time the cry that sounded from your mouth was louder than ever, your head thrown back while your hands dropped to your sides and gripped onto the sheets. Your walls clamped down on his length, the sensitivity too much for you as you felt a second orgasm rapidly building up. But the heat was too much.
Daryl’s hands squeezed your waist, letting out a shout as he came inside you, still thrusting himself in and out of you to bring out your second orgasm. Your eyes rolled back and your moan came out as a deep groan, this time fluids rushed out of your wet heat and spilling onto his thighs and the sheets, soiling them completely. He gasped, panting heavily as the sight. He couldn't resist and you felt a finger or two slip into you, the wet sounds totally erotic. He fingered you through the intense orgasm, groaning at how wet and slick you were.
You let yourself sink into the bed, closing your eyes, and his fingers eventually slipped out of you. His eyes stayed on your figure, the hickeys on your neck and chest, your pussy and thighs glistening with your wet arousal. You felt him kiss your lips softly, kissing your cheekbone before slowly leaving you on the bed.
You sighed and just lay there, naked and sprawled over the bed like some porno. But when you heard the sound of water rushing from the bathroom, you smiled and felt even warmer than you already did.
“Time fer yer bath,” Daryl’s voice made you open your eyes, craning your head to see him walk over to you. He smiled down at you before picking you up bridal style and carrying you towards the bathroom. You glanced up at him sleepily, pushing yourself up to kiss his jaw, his stubble prickly against your lips. He squeezed you tightly in response, kicking the bathroom door open and placing you in the warm bath. “I’ll be righ’ there ta join ya, jus’ gotta change the sheets.”
You nodded in response, leaning against the rim of the tub and closing your eyes. His hand came up to rub your head gently before scurrying out of the bathroom. You breathed softly, your stomach in pleasant knots at how much you adored your husband. Letting yourself soak in the warm water as your body felt lighter.
You almost flinched when you felt a body slip in next to you, Daryl was way too quiet sometimes. He gently maneuvered you so you sat on his lap, your back on his chest. He wrapped his arms around your midsection, turning his head to kiss your neck softly. You smiled contently, snuggling into him as you both melted into the warm water.
“I love you,” you murmured hoarsely.
“I love ya too,” he responded just as gruff, squeezing you gently as he placed another kiss on your neck. You both sat in silent, just soaking in each other's love and warmth, his fingers rubbing your back to rid of the soreness he may have put on you.
“I’m hungry,” you mumbled and felt his chest rumble against your back as he laughed.
“I’ll heat ya up some of tha’ bread and tomato soup. How’s tha’ sound?” His whisper made you shiver delightedly.
“Sounds perfect.” You whispered back, and leaned against his shoulder.

Summary: Eddie, (Y/n) and their kids haven't long moved into their new home, and the neighbour takes a worrying liking to (Y/n). Which causes a few problems and puts their family at risk.
Enjoy.

Tumblr media
"Here, everyone take one please." (Y/n) opened the boot and leaned her hip against the side of the car. Her hand moved to her temple, trying to will away the headache that was throbbing behind her eyes.
It was one of those headaches that made her feel sick; exactly what she didn't need right now. Her hand moved down from her temple to run across her stomach where the baby was starting to liven up and do twists. That, combined with her headache alone was enough to make (Y/n) sure she was going to be sick soon.
She forced herself to smile when the kids hurried over to the boot and one by one, they leaned in to take a bag of shopping each. Trixie got to (Y/n) first and she held her hands out, waited to be handed a bag as usual and once she had one, the six year old headed over to the front door.
A soft smile fluttered across (Y/n)'s lips when she looked at Lilah. Her youngest was holding out her left hand, while her right hand was bound to her chest like it had been for the last two weeks. Lilah had fallen in the playground at nursery and subsequently broke her right arm just below her wrist. She now had a foam cast on her arm which she constantly cradled to her chest, not daring to move it at all.
"Thank you baby," (Y/n) murmured and held out the lightest thing Lilah would be able to carry, the bag of crisps.
Chris looped a bag over his elbow, letting it swing back into his crutch while Liv leaned over him to take two of the heavier bags so her mum wouldn't have to carry them.
The eldest looked up at her mum with a raised brow and a half smirk that made her look so much like her dad. She looked down at Chris stood at her side before both of them looked back at their mum when she took a bag in each hand.
"Dad said you can't."
"He'll have a fit if he sees you." Liv quipped with a grin, glancing between the house and her mum.
All four kids knew their mum hadn't been very well lately, and they knew what Eddie was like when any of them were unwell. They had heard Eddie give (Y/n) the riot act when she tried to climb on the bed to hang the curtain rail that came down or when she was carrying boxes around the house.
(Y/n) had had a placental abruption last month- Liv was the only kid who understood what that meant, being fourteen- and that meant (Y/n) was now on light duties at home. She couldn't do any heavy lifting or straining and Eddie made sure all the kids knew that so they could help around the house.
First (Y/n) had the abruption, and then two weeks ago Lilah broke her arm which sent Eddie into another spiral. He didn't need anymore stress or anyone else getting hurt or injured.
"Good job he's in bed then." (Y/n) rose a brow and smiled as the followed the two of them inside where Trixie and Lilah had already made a beeline into the kitchen.
Eddie had been on a double shift and came home about half eight in the morning. He had seen the kids get up and then proceeded to go straight to bed himself, he hadn't had a chance to catch even one hour of sleep in the bunker room and he had been dead on his feet. (Y/n) thought it would be better to take all the kids out shopping with her this morning.
It let Eddie have a while to himself to sleep and kept (Y/n) and the kids busy doing the shopping.
She followed the pair of them inside, noting that Trixie had dumped the bags in front of the cabinet and was eagerly searching for her new colouring book. And Lilah was stood near the fridge, broken arm cradled to her chest while she smiled sweetly.
"Can I go sit with daddy?"
"He's asleep sweetheart, leave him be please."
She watched the way Lilah's shoulders slumped before she nodded and shuffled glumly into the living room. She wanted Eddie, she hadn't technically seen him in two days since he had been at work and all she got this morning was a bear hug and a kiss before he had to get in bed, lest he wanted to fall asleep standing up.
(Y/n) put the bags down, murmuring a soft "Unpack please," to the three of them before she trudged back down the hall to go get the last bag and her handbag from the car.
She hooked her bag on her shoulder and grabbed the few toys the girls had left in the back of the car. But when she leaned up and shut the door, a gasp tumbled past her lips and she pushed back into the side of the car.
"Want some help?"
An uneasy, worried smile fluttered across (Y/n)'s lips when she looked Adam up and down. The guy from next door. The one who was always a little too friendly, a little too eager to be around and help and get in the way by all accounts.
They hadn't long moved to this house, less than two months ago they had moved here because they needed more space. And this house was closer to both schools for the kids and to the station, and somehow, they were even closer to Buck's apartment which he thought was brilliant.
The only downside with this house was the new neighbours on the right. The elderly couple on the left were lovely, (Y/n) and Eddie got along with them great. But Adam, he was a whole other conversation entirely. He seemed to take a liking to (Y/n) and he came out of the woodworks when Eddie was either out at work or in bed after a long shift. He always seemed to know when Eddie wasn't around so he could get close to (Y/n).
She noticed the way he was already leaning in the car to try and take the last bag of shopping and it made her feel paranoid. She didn't want Adam's help and she didn't appreciate him trying to reach into the car without waiting for an answer.
(Y/n) squeezed past him, noting the way he leaned closer to her when she had to shuffle closer to the car to get past him.
She wormed past him and grabbed the bag, closing the boot swiftly and almost catching his hand when she slammed it shut. She didn't want his help. (Y/n) would rather not have him hanging around or getting too close like he seemed to try and do a lot lately.
"No thanks, I can manage." She looped the bag on her elbow and tried to walk past him, but Adam leaned closer with a smile, darting in her path.
He made her uneasy. He was too close, always too close. He was always making sure he hung around when Eddie wasn't nearby. Last week he was hanging around the front while (Y/n) tried to do some gardening. He made her so uncomfortable to the point she just stopped and went inside.
When she was out with the kids while they were playing in the back garden, somehow, Adam was also out in his garden, leering over the fence with a cheesy smile and a worrying look in his eyes. When she walked the kids to school, he was always outside when she was alone on her way back.
(Y/n) had an awful feeling that one day, he was going to be stood at the window when she opened the curtains one morning.
"I don't mind, I'll take that for you. You should be taking things easy." He reached for the bag again but (Y/n) sidestepped until her hip bumped into the car.
"Hm, I'm fine."
She tried to speed up and aim for the front door, ready to close it in Adam's face once she was back inside. (Y/n) was tired of being polite when he just wouldn't stop coming by and pestering them. Pestering her.
"Maybe I could come inside-"
"I don't think so, I've got my kids to look after." She gave the door a nudge and quickly placed the shopping bag down beside her. But her eyes widened and she straightened up so fast her head started to spin and her hand reached out for the door to steady herself.
She felt Adam's hand wander down to her bum.
She spun round on her heels, one hand on the door and the other differing between reaching out to slap him and holding her hip. A fire blazed in her eyes as she quickly glanced behind her, trying to make sure none of the kids had seen that. But when her eyes caught sight of Liv's hair whipping across her shoulders as she bolted down the hall, (Y/n) sighed.
Liv was going to get Eddie. She had seen what Adam just did and she was going to wake Eddie and tell him.
(Y/n) tightened her hand around the door, pushing it until there was only a small gap so she could look out at the creep on the doorstep.
He was leant forward, shoulders hunched over, hands on either side of the doorframe with one leg cocked forward. The sleezy smirk on his face was off-putting and he quirked one brow as if he thought (Y/n) was actually going to let him inside.
What kind of person did he take her for? Did he really believe that (Y/n), who had four kids and another one on the way, would willingly have some sort of affair or get close with the neighbour?
She hadn't led him on in any way for him to get those sorts of ideas and he wasn't giving up. But he would soon, he wouldn't have a choice if Eddie was about to find out what he'd been up to. (Y/n) had mentioned once or twice to Eddie that the new neighbour seemed a little too close for comfort and Eddie said he would keep an eye on him. But of course, Adam was doing things when Eddie wasn't around.
"Unless you want my husband to come out there and throttle you for that inappropriate touch, you'd better get off our drive."
(Y/n) didn't give him chance to answer, she simply slammed the door shut just as his lips curved into a frown of disappointment.
Skidding down the hallway, Liv twisted to the left and burst through the bedroom door. It felt wrong barging into her parent's room when she knew Eddie was sleeping. He had been a firefighter for years now and the mix of days and nights had always been routine. All the kids knew if Eddie did a night shift or a double shift and he went to bed, they should let him sleep.
Sometimes they would sneak in trying to be quiet and stealth and they would have a power nap with him. Eddie loved waking up with a kid tucked under each arm or one laid out on his chest.
The blackout blind made the room pitch black like it was the middle of the night because Eddie hated sleeping in a light room. The natural light from the hallway seeped into the battleship grey bedroom and Liv bounded over to the bed, her sights set on her dad.
Eddie was laid out in the middle of the bed. The cover was tangled around his ankles, his arms were both sprawled out on the pillows and his head was submerged between both pillows like he was trying to blend in or suffocate himself. He resembled a starfish with the way he sprawled out. He was taking advantage of having no kids in bed to kick and push and lay on top of him.
"Dad! Dad!" She hissed, kneeling on the edge of the bed as she reached over and gripped his bicep, giving a rough shake to wake him up.
"Hmm." A guttural grunt passed Eddie's lips and muffled into the pillow pressed over his face.
He barely managed to crack his eyes open and he tried to lift his head, squinting until he realised it was Liv prodding him. He knew she wouldn't wake him unless she really needed something or something was wrong, and she was fourteen now. She was too old to try and take a power nap with Eddie during the day like this.
"What's up Carino?" He feathered his hand along her arm before he reached up to run his palm up and down his face, waking himself up a bit more. He dragged his fingers through his hair which stuck up in all directions as if he had been electrocuted.
"That guy from next door, he- he just touched mum up."
"What?"
Eddie livened up immediately, pushing up on his hands until he was knelt up in the middle of the bed. He let Liv grab his wrist and yank him off the bed, pulling until Eddie fumbled over his feet and gathered his balance and his senses.
He gripped the doorframe, swinging himself around the corner as Liv finally let go and hurried down the hall.
Eddie took a peek in the kitchen on his way past, seeing Chris and Trixie sat at the kitchen table. Colouring books in front of them and empty shopping bags on the floor where they had clearly unpacked all the shopping for (Y/n). And when he sped past the lounge, he briefly caught sight of Lilah sat watching tv.
He watched Liv move to stand in the living room doorway, her eyes flitting between both parents, not wanting to be in the way if an argument was going to happen. But she wanted to stay close just in case Eddie decided to head out in his boxers and start a fight with the neighbour. It wouldn't be the first time Liv had seen Eddie start a fight, and he always won.
(Y/n) peeked through the net curtain beside the front door, watching Adam drift back to his own home next door. When she turned around, her breath caught in her throat and she reached her hands out for Eddie.
He had his brows arched, his hands curled into fists and every muscle on show was tense and riled up. Not to mention he was stood there in nothing but his boxers with his hair askew, giving away the fact that he had just been asleep a minute ago.
"Where is he and what's he done?" His voice came out low and brittal and it sent a shiver rolling down (Y/n)'s spine.
Her hands found his arms and she tried to nudge him backwards and aim for the living room, but Eddie planted his feet down on the hardwood floor and wouldn't budge.
He uncurled his hands and clamped them down on her hips, his fingers squeezing tight into her skin as he leaned around her as if he could see through the net and out onto the front lawn. He knew Liv had been talking about Adam from next door. Liv often said he seemed creepy and was always hovering around and now (Y/n) had mentioned he was always a bit too close or eager. But Eddie had yet to catch him doing anything and it was infuriating.
He hated the thought of the neighbour doing something specifically when he knew or thought Eddie was out and couldn't reprimand him for it.
"He's gone, the threat of you frightened him off. Baby go back to bed," She dragged her fingertips up to his shoulders until she was cupping the back of his neck. Feeling the way he shivered beneath her nails that scratched into his skin.
She tried again to nudge Eddie backwards, he hadn't been asleep for that long and he needed rest. But he wasn't budging. His lips curled down and he huffed, looking past her again before their eyes locked and his head ticked to one side.
"What did he do?" She had answered one of his questions, but not the other. Liv hadn't said exactly what the neighbour did and Eddie needed to find out so he knew whether he had to go and make some threats.
"Baby, he's gone, it's fine-"
A shiver tore down (Y/n)'s spine and sent the baby doing summersaults when Eddie reached up to grab her wrists. He pulled her hands away from his neck and held her wrists against his chest before his head snapped to the left to look at Liv. The fourteen year old was skulking in the doorway, unsure whether to go watch tv or hang around and see what was going to happen.
"Liv, what'd he do?" The grumble in Eddie's voice won over Liv rather than the stern look (Y/n) shot her way.
Liv was always a daddy's girl, she was more inclined to agree or listen to Eddie than she was to (Y/n) and if he asked her something, she always answered him. Since the moment she was born, Liv had been Eddie's little shadow, much like Lilah was turning out to be. Whereas Chris, seemingly because he was the only boy, always clung and stuck to (Y/n) a little more.
"Grabbed mum's arse." Liv looked down at her shoes when Eddie's cheeks sucked in and his jaw started to click from side to side. She saw the rage building up in his eyes that darted back down to (Y/n) while his brows rose and he suddenly let go of her, aiming for the door. Despite the fact that he wasn't even dressed.
"Liv why- Eddie don't!" (Y/n) waved her hand out towards the living room as a sign for Liv to go and sit down. Why did she have to tell him? Why couldn't she keep it to herself so (Y/n) could handle the situation?
Once Liv scuttled towards the sofa, (Y/n) spun on her heels and deadlocked her arms around Eddie's chest. She glued herself to his back, shutting the door just as Eddie tried to open it.
"Eddie, please. Please, don't start a fight, I told him you'd go after him and it frightened him off. He won't do it again."
They had only just moved to this area. (Y/n) wanted to give a good impression and be friendly with the rest of the neighbourhood. The last thing they wanted was Eddie roaming round in his boxers, trying to beat up the guy next door. And some of the people in the street were already friendly now they knew Eddie was a firefighter. It wouldn't do him any good to get a reputation or if the news got back to the station.
She could feel his resolve slowly ebbing away, but his hand stayed deadlocked around the door, internally debating what to do.
He didn't want to stand here, he wanted to go round and argue and throw a punch. He didn't stand for anyone disrespecting any of his family, but knowing the guy next door had tried to cop a feel sent Eddie's blood on fire. But he also didn't want to start a fight if the whole neighbourhood was going to find out and he didn't want to scare the kids.
"He can't just touch you up and get away with it. And he won't fucking do it again cos I'll deck him." His head twisted to the right and he looked down at (Y/n) when she gingerly pressed her forehead into his arm and pushed up into his back.
He could feel her shallow breaths against his flushed skin and the way her chest shuddered with each breath.
"Baby…" She feathered her lips up Eddie's arm and across his shoulder until she was leaning up on her tiptoes, pressing a few wet, tender kisses against his neck. She could feel his resolve starting to ebb away as he twisted to the left so he was facing her.
He let her move his left arm and guide his hand to her stomach where the baby was kicking up a storm, making (Y/n) feel queasy again. And he reached his free hand around to cup the back of her neck, sighing as he kissed her temple.
"No stress, remember?" She murmured softly into his neck, letting herself push into his chest as he took her weight for her.
"Then promise me if he does or says anything, you'll tell me straight away."
"I promise."
"Alright, mi amor. Come on, let's sit with the kids, I'm shattered." He muttered against her temple while his hand snaked around from her neck to cup her chin and tilt her head up in his direction. He attached his lips to hers, stealing the air from her lungs and delving his tongue past her lips while his other hand ran along her stomach.
He could feel the kicks against his palm and the way it had (Y/n) arching her back out and shifting from foot to foot. They had another ten weeks until their due date and Eddie doubted if they would reach it at this rate with all the stress surrounding them lately.
He wormed his hand around to cradle her lower back when they parted and the pair of them slowly padded into the living room where all the kids had suddenly accumilated.
Liv was curled up in the armchair, knees to her chest, arms folded and her head switching from the tv to check on her parents. Chris and Trixie were knelt in front of the coffee table colouring in, and Lilah was laid on the sofa with a teddy curled to her chest and her broken arm cradled to the teddy.
When they reached the sofa, Eddie gently leaned over and lifted Lilah up so he could sit down in her place.
He slouched into the sofa, propping his feet up on the coffee table while he cradled Lilah on his lap. The four year old instantly snuggled into Eddie's chest with her head tucked beneath his chin and both arms still curled around her teddy. She felt Eddie's hand gliding up and down her side and he peppered sloppy kisses against her temple while his free hand reached out for (Y/n).
He held her lower back, helping her ease down next to him before his arm curved over her shoulders, tugging his wife under his arm to keep her snuggled close.
His eyes drifted from (Y/n) back down to Lilah when she shifted round on his lap. She wriggled as if trying to get comfy before she leaned back into his shoulder, lifting her head so she could look up at him. When she gingerly held her bad arm out towards him, Eddie's expression softened. Eddie knew what she was after.
Since she had broken her arm, she was forever holding it out to Eddie so he would kiss it better.
His touch was careful when he cradled the black foam cast on her arm and leaned over to kiss her cast and then the tips of her fingers. "All better," He spoke softly as Lilah cuddled down into his bare chest, seemingly satisfied, and cradled her teddy closer to her chest.
Eddie closed his eyes, pressing his lips to (Y/n)'s forehead while both girls leaned into him. And he slouched down a little more, keeping them both tucked up against him with the rest of their family close by.
"No stress." Eddie muttered under his breath. Somehow he didn't believe that was going to be possible.
***
"Girls don't mess around-" (Y/n) cut herself off, a shiver tearing down her spine when she leaned into the bathroom and looked at the pair of them.
Her lips pressed together in a thin line and her hand fell on her hip while Chris tugged on her other hand.
Lilah's sharp cry pierced through the air, causing (Y/n) to cringe and Chris to frown. He let go of (Y/n)'s hand and turned away from the bathroom, trudging down the hall towards the living room. He wasn't going to hang around if his youngest sister was going to have a tantrum, he would rather start watching a movie in the living room with Liv.
He was always sensitive when the girls were crying or having a meltdown. Chris hated the sound of their screams and when they cried it made him uncomfortable, he never knew what to do so he found it best to leave the room.
"Mummy!" Lilah sniffed but she couldn't stop the tears from pouring down her face.
The four year old splashed her left hand in the bath while her right arm, her broken one, meshed up against her chest. She shimmied back in the water as much as she could to distance herself from Trixie who now had tears in her own eyes in fear of getting told off.
She didn't mean to. They were only playing, she didn't mean to catch Lilah's bad arm or hurt her.
Running a hand through her hair, (Y/n) tried to find some strength from somewhere and padded across the bathroom towards the girls. She used the side of the bath as leverage to kneel down beside them and she reached down to pull the plug.
"Both of you out now, please." All the kids loved bath time, but if the girls were going to mess around then they weren't staying in here any longer. (Y/n) didn't have the energy to stop a fight when she was home alone with all the kids and she didn't feel at her best.
A bubbling cry left Lilah's lips and she lashed her legs out to try and kick Trixie who squealed and sent a tidal wave across at her in retaliation.
"Stop it. Trixie out, and you stop kicking that's naughty." (Y/n) leaned over and helped Lilah stand up, keeping hold of her waist as the youngest clambered out with one arm, the other still pinned to her chest. "You're alright, sweetheart," Her tone softened when Lilah continued to whimper, clearly in some discomfort.
This was why they had asked for a foam cast rather than a pot when they took her to the hospital and found out she'd broken her arm. A pot and a four year old didn't mix well and Lilah would end up hurting herself even more or getting it wet and mucky. At least with a black cast they could take it off for a little while to let her arm rest and take it off when she needed a bath, like tonight.
(Y/n) handed Trixie a towel while her focus shifted back to Lilah who was stomping her feet, taking bubbling breaths as she howled.
"Hurts! Mummy, it hurts," Big sobs tumbled past Lilah's lips as her eyes turned red and she rubbed her good hand along her eyes until they were puffy and aching.
She held her right arm out to the side so (Y/n) wouldn't touch it while she got her dried off. When it came to drying her arm, (Y/n) carefully dabbed the towel at her arm like she was blotting a painting, wincing when Lilah sniffed and whimpered.
"I know sweetheart, you're alright, come on." She pecked Lilah's temple and helped her into her pyjamas before she picked up the small foam cast.
She eased it around Lilah's arm and did up the velcro straps before Lilah pushed forward and burrowed into her chest with a huff. Lilah was the youngest, at least until the new baby arrived, and she wasn't keen on (Y/n)'s tummy being in the way whenever she wanted a hug. She also didn't like Eddie giving any attention to the bump either.
When he tried to kiss or talk to (Y/n)'s stomach, Lilah would nuzzle in and whine until Eddie paid her some attention too. He had started doing it more often when Lilah was around because he found it rather sweet how desperate and jealous she would get.
(Y/n) dreaded to think what Lilah would be like when Eddie tended to the new baby. She was used to being the littlest, the one that was carried around and cuddled and needed a bit more attention. A baby was going to change all of that.
"How about some hot chocolate?"
Trixie was already out the bathroom, hazardly dressed and ready to go and get herself a drink.
Lilah nodded and looped her good arm around (Y/n)'s neck, gluing herself to her mum's chest and she curved around her stomach. But she started to whine when (Y/n) shook her head.
"Sweetie I can't carry you, daddy will tell me off." When Lilah let out a piercing cry, (Y/n) sighed and rolled her eyes. "Oh, come here." Defeat flooded her voice and she tangled her arms around Lilah, cuddling her youngest as she used the bath to push back up to her feet.
She could feel the snagging pain in her lower back and she had to double forward to ease the tension in her abdomen, but it stopped Lilah crying. She could feel her snuffling into her neck and cuddling close, wanting as much love and affection as she could possibly get. Especially since Eddie was at work tonight.
"Livy's making hot chocolate."
(Y/n) nodded at Trixie and slowly eased down on the sofa, settling Lilah under her right arm as Trixie sat on her other side with Chris wedged on the end of the sofa. She wasn't so sure Liv would stay and watch a movie with them tonight, the eldest usually went to her room to read or watch a movie by herself, but on the odd occasion she would join them for a movie night.
The eldest trotted through a minute later just as Chris selected a movie. She placed a tray down on the coffee table, a cup of hot chocolate for each of them.
Liv knew that Chris always had to have a hot drink in his 'space mug' which was a deep navy blue colour with depictions of the solar system on. She also knew Trixie and Lilah would use the small plastic Disney cups from the bottom drawer in the kitchen. (Y/n) was the only one who wouldn't mind what cup she had. When Eddie was home, he always used his 'World's Best Dad' mug which had a picture of him and all the kids on.
At the station, Eddie had a mug that said 'Dad and Me' from three years ago, it was one Liv made at school and everyone at the station knew not to use or break it, lest they wanted Eddie's wrath.
"Are you joining us?"
"I suppose." A small smile fluttered across Liv's lips as she plonked herself down in the armchair and propped her feet up on the coffee table, cradling her cup between her hands.
She quite liked the movie Chris had picked and she didn't mind joining them for a movie tonight.
"Mum asleep?" Chris muttered quietly, tilting his head away from the tv for a quick second to glance up at his mum.
She had her eyes closed and her head tilted to one side as she slouched on the sofa. She had Trixie tucked under one arm who was barely awake, and Lilah laid over her lap who was just about to fall asleep. She peeked one eye open and looked across at Chris, nudging his shoulder to show him she was awake.
"Not yet." (Y/n) responded, smiling when Chris shuffled closer so he could lean his head on her arm. He snuggled up, coiling his knees to his chest to try and get comfy, wedging himself as close to his mum as possible.
A bright smile lit up Chris's tired face and he flashed his teeth, giggling quietly when he felt the baby start to kick. He leaned his cheek against the top of (Y/n)'s stomach and moved both hands to her abdomen, waiting for another kick like he always watched his dad do.
(Y/n) started to card her fingers through his curls, unknotting them and brushing them from his eyes while he continued to wait for another kick to show that the baby was awake.
They didn't know the gender of the baby yet, it was going to be a surprise. Eddie had his bets on another girl, he quite liked the thought of having four girls and one boy. He and Chris were surrounded by girls, and that was the way they liked it. Liv agreed, she thought her parents were likely to have an army of girls and one boy. But Lilah and Trixie were betting on a boy, mainly because Lilah wanted to be Eddie's littlest girl and have his attention all to herself.
When Trixie snuggled into her side and started to brush her hand across (Y/n)'s stomach, it made her smile. (Y/n) felt surrounded, she had four out of five of her kids with her, all clinging and lying on her and the baby was wriggling as if to show off that they too were awake. And Liv was just beside them, curled up in the armchair, looking tired for once.
(Y/n) could feel all the kids lulling her to sleep and she had a feeling Liv would have to wake them all up when the movie was over. And she knew that when Eddie was on a night shift like this, at least two of the kids would come scurrying into the bed in Eddie's place.
She began to feather her hand up and down Trixie's arm and she let her eyes fall closed again while Lilah became unusually still. Something (Y/n) took as a sign that the youngest had fallen asleep.
Liv seemed to be the only one paying any interest in the movie anymore, but at least the rest of the kids were settled. There was nothing worse than when they were trying to pay attention to a movie and Chris or the girls were wriggling about or chattering and not paying attention.
The movie drowned into background static when an earth-shattering bang coursed through the living room and felt like an earthquake had taken place in the centre of their home.
(Y/n) jolted forward so far she almost knocked Lilah down to the floor and her scream matched in tangent with each of her kids.
Her arms deadlocked around Trixie and Chris while Lilah screamed and clutched at her stomach so tightly (Y/n) couldn't help but gasp. She could feel herself shaking and her chest shuddered when Trixie screamed into her chest while Chris's nails scratched into her back and chest to try and keep hold of her.
"Fuck- w-what was that?!" Terror ransacked Liv's voice as she began to shake.
Her knees jerked up into her stomach and her arms pinned to the sides of her head as if she expected the house to start crumbling apart like a cake. She shuddered, pushing herself back in the armchair while her rabid eyes locked on her mum.
She watched (Y/n) try and sit up, trying to move the kids so she could get up but all three of them were still whimpering and clinging to her, each about to go into fits of tears.
Liv's knees stayed bound to her chest but her arms moved to grip the armrests and she slowly sat up and glanced behind her where the sound came from. Her jaw dropped and terror flooded her eyes when she looked towards the window. They had thick grey nets covering the windows so no one could peer inside from the street and the curtains hadn't been fully closed tonight. Through the gap in the curtains, Liv could see the window was broken.
"Mum…" She shakily pointed to the window while (Y/n) used the sofa as leverage to push herself up.
(Y/n) tried to level out her breathing and control her heart that was thumping away in her chest as she shuffled away from the sofa and moved near the window. But her heart dropped down to her stomach and the baby did an awful twist when she looked behind the sofa.
A brick.
Someone had thrown a brick through the window.
That could have hit them. A few inches to the left and that could have landed on any of them on the sofa. It could have clocked Liv in the back of the head if aimed at a slanted angle. Any one of (Y/n)'s kids could have been seriously hurt by that.
She didn't want to, but she advanced closer to the window. Her frame stuck to the curtain, hiding behind the dark grey cloth just in case someone was still stood outside and could manage to see through the nets.
The middle window pane was shattered. Glass decorated the floor in a large pattern and sprinkled down on the windowsil.
She could see a figure moving outside, but it was too far away for her to discern who it was, how tall they were, what they were wearing. All (Y/n) could fathom was it was a figure around her height, maybe, walking in the direction towards the house at such a slow pace it couldn't be considered normal.
"Mum?" Liv's voice was unusually meek and worried as she tremored, curling into the armchair like she wanted to make herself as small as possible to stay safe.
"Call nana." Her stern voice took Liv by surprise and she looked between her mum and the tv as if she didn't believe what she was hearing.
"Wh-what was it?"
"A brick."
Panic dwelled in Liv's stomach and she jolted back in the chair when Lilah whined. The youngest scrambled off the sofa and without a moment's hesitation, she climbed up onto the armchair with Liv. For once, Liv didn't groan or huff or tell Lilah she was too heavy to be held or too annoying to be cuddling her.
She wrapped her arm around her little sister and let her snuggle into her chest, binding her good arm around Liv's waist while she cradled her cast to her chest and began to cry.
Liv kissed the top of her head and leaned forward to grab her phone from the table before she sank back into the chair, trying not to shake. Her eyes followed her mum as she kissed Chris and Trixie to try and keep them calm, holding Chris's shoulder with one hand while her other hand clenched down on the back of the sofa to steady herself.
(Y/n) did her best to ignore the shaking setting into her system and the dull throbbing pain in her abdomen that she knew was from the abruption she had last month. Stress wasn't good for her condition but right now it was all-consuming.
When she saw Liv was shakily scrolling through her contacts for Athena's number, (Y/n) felt a bit better. She needed her mum over here, now.
Who would throw a brick through the window? They were new to this area, they didn't know all the neighbours or the people nearby but the ones they did know, they got along really well with. Except for Adam.
"Nana?" Liv did her best to control her voice and she swiped her hand against her face, brushing away the stray tear. She was the eldest, she had to remain calm along with her mum and calm down the younger ones.
"Hey sweetie… everything okay? I've just got to work." Athena's voice was as calming and soothing as ever and it made Liv relax.
Just as Liv was going to respond, she froze and locked eyes with her mum when the doorbell rang.
(Y/n) held her hand out and pressed her finger to her lips, begging them all to be quiet. She didn't know who was at the door and there was no way she was going to answer that without Eddie or Athena here. The smashed window had been loud, but surely it couldn't have been loud enough to alert anyone. The house was detached with the garden surrounding and separating it from the neighbours. They couldn't have heard that.
Maybe whoever it was had seen something and wanted to check they were okay, but (Y/n) wasn't taking the risk to answer. For all she knew it could be whoever threw the brick waiting at the door to pounce.
"(Y/n)? Hey, are you okay, I uh, I heard a noise. Just wanted to check on you and the little ones."
Dread crawled up the back of (Y/n)'s throat, threatening to spill her hot chocolate when that voice drifted through the hallway.
Adam.
He was at the door. He couldn't have heard something so faint and thought it best to come over and check on them. He couldn't have heard that and come round here so quickly. Either he was the cause of this or he was being too nosey for his own good and had seen something. Either way (Y/n) was not letting him inside, he wasn't coming anywhere near her or her kids.
"Sweetie, are you alright?" Athena's voice brought Liv crashing back to reality and made her realise she hadn't answered.
"Everyone up and in mine and your dads room please. Come on." (Y/n) leaned over the back of the sofa and moved her hands to Chris and Trixie's backs, giving them a nudge until they started to move.
Her bedroom was at the back of the house facing the garden. No one could throw a brick through the window or get into the back garden if the back gate was closed. And the front and back door were locked, (Y/n) always locked them in the evening, especially when she was home and Eddie was out at work.
Being at the back of the house would be safer and they wouldn't have to hear Adam if he decided to stay and pester them at the door.
When Chris and Trixie got up, (Y/n) let them clutch one of her hands each and burrow up against her legs. She made sure to swipe her phone from the sofa before she guided them down the hall, checking over her shoulder that Liv was following her.
Liv juggled Lilah in her left arm, sitting her sister on her hip while she clutched her phone to her ear and jogged down the hall, barely breathing at all.
"Nana, we need you to come over. Someone put a brick through the front window." Tears finally began to fall down Liv's face and when she got into her parents room, she shut the door closed behind her.
"A brick? Is everyone okay?!"
"Yeah… nana please-"
"Sweetie, don't you worry, I'm on my way down right now okay? And I'll call grandad because he's not at work tonight. Keep the doors locked and don't let anyone in, no one leave the house until I get there, okay?"
"Okay."
"Nanny," Lilah sniffled, reaching out for the phone but Liv shook her head and advanced over to the bed. She eased Lilah down and watched her scuttle to sit with Chris and Trixie in the middle of the bed while (Y/n) shut the curtains.
Moving her hand to her stomach, (Y/n) swallowed down a groan and walked over towards the door. She peered down the hall and shivered when she could faintly see a dark outline at the front door. Adam was still there. Hopefully when he heard Athena's sirens he would scarper and realise they had called the police.
She heard Liv hang up and tell Chris to put the tv on so they could all calm down and watch a movie.
Getting her phone out, (Y/n) scrolled to Eddie's contact and dialled. He needed to pick up. (Y/n) knew her dad wasn't at work tonight so she couldn't call him to get hold of Eddie. She would have to try Buck and if not, try to find the emergency number for the office who could then get through to Eddie.
She wasn't waiting until the morning for Eddie to come off shift and find out what had happened. And (Y/n) had a gut feeling that this was down to their new neighbour. Eddie's truck wasn't in the drive, that was a damn sure sign that he wasn't home and Adam always tried to talk to (Y/n) or hang around when he knew Eddie wasn't home. This couldn't be a coincidence.
"Mummy no!" Trixie held her hands out when (Y/n) stepped into the hall. She didn't want her to leave them in here, not when something bad was happening and they didn't know what to do.
"Sweetie I'm just here, okay? I- I need to call daddy."
She stayed in the doorway, teethering on the threshold. She didn't want to talk so close where the kids could hear her in case she frightened them. (Y/n) wanted to speak to Eddie alone, but she was going to have to stay within sight so the kids didn't panic or get more frightened than they already were.
"Ola mi amor. Who's not going to bed then?" The lighthearted tone in Eddie's voice almost made (Y/n) smile, if it weren't for the tears threatening to cascade from her eyes.
He was used to phone calls when he was on night shifts, the kids always wanted to say goodnight if they could and if one of them couldn't settle, they usually spoke to Eddie on the phone.
"Baby you- you need to come home."
"What? Mi amor what's wrong, are you okay? Is it the baby?" Panic and confusion tore through Eddie's voice and (Y/n) could hear muffled sounds in the background like he was moving to somewhere quieter to talk.
After the abruption Eddie had been on edge about going back to work because he didn't want (Y/n) home alone with the kids if something happened and she felt worse or another complication happened with the baby. And he knew they weren't likely to reach full term now, (Y/n) was likely to have the baby within the next few weeks.
They had gone through enough of a struggle with Trixie and Lilah, both of them had been early births and Lilah had been a very early, preemie baby. Eddie didn't want to go through that again.
"No, oh God, baby someone-" (Y/n) looked back towards the kids when the tv flared to life and Chris put on a Disney movie. All their attention was on the tv, except for Liv who kept looking across at her. "Eddie someone's thrown a brick through the window."
"What?!" His voice dropped two octaves and was so deep (Y/n) barely recognised him.
"We've called mum, she's on her way over… Eddie I don't know what to do-"
"Okay, okay calm down. Oh Dios, you can't be stressing, just breathe for a minute." Eddie tried to steady his own breathing as he made a beeline for the kitchen. He had to tell Hen he was leaving, she was in charge for this shift while Bobby was off rota tonight. "Jesus, a brick? Are you all okay, did anyone get hurt?"
"We're okay."
"Thank fuck for that. I'm leaving, I'm coming home. Did you see anything, when it happened?" At least for now Eddie didn't have to panic about taking any of the kids to hospital, but he wasn't so sure about (Y/n). If she was stressing it wasn't going to help the baby.
"I didn't… I didn't see anything, but- but Adam's at the door."
"That little fucker from next door? What's he want?"
"He said he heard something, that he w-wants to check on us, I didn't let him in but he's still waiting at the door. Eddie I don't like this-"
"Don't go near the door. Mi amor stay with the kids, if he's still there by the time I come home I'll put his fucking head through the window."
His breaths sounded ragged and laboured and (Y/n) shuddered. She hoped- she prayed, Athena was going to arrive before Eddie. If she didn't she might have to arrest her son in law because Eddie wasn't going to accept this. He wasn't going to let Adam touch (Y/n) up and then pester them at the door like this. And if he had been the one to put the brick through the window, God only knows what Eddie would do to him for that.
(Y/n) didn't doubt her husbands words and she had a feeling he would follow through and put Adam through the nearest window he could find for this. It would be a sight, but (Y/n) couldn't have Eddie getting himself arrested. Not when she needed him home and the kids needed him.
She tilted her head back, feeling a sob burn at the back of her throat as her free hand moved to run across her face.
"Do you want me to go into labour?" She hissed through the phone, clicking her jaw into place as a quiet mewl left her lips and her hand moved to cradle her abdomen where the baby was kicking up a storm.
"I want you to be safe! I leave the damn house for a few hours and someone's smashing it up and if it's him I'll kill him. He could of hurt you and the kids-"
"So come home and help me, Eddie. God, I feel sick." She took a few deep breaths to try and calm herself down but it wasn't working. She wouldn't be calm until her mum walked through the door and she had Eddie's arms around her.
"I'm getting in the jeep now, mi amor I swear I won't be long. Put the kids on the phone, please, let me check they're okay."
Eddie already had his bag on his shoulder and his boots were storming across the polished floor, announcing his departure to the rest of his team. He had whispered a few words to Hen already and she ushered him out with well wishes and worried looks. He would be home soon.
"Talk to daddy, he's on his way home."
Relief plastered across all the kid's faces and they visibly relaxed, sinking back into the pillows and huddling together when Liv held the phone out between them, putting it on speaker.
"Daddy! You coming home?"
"I am baby, I'll be there soon to look after you all. Are you all alright?"
A chorus of muttered agreements and mewls were like music to Eddie's ears as he slammed the jeep door shut and turned the key in the ignition. He was on his way home and when he got there, heads were going to roll.

say no more, my queen - regina george x reader
Tumblr media
summary: regina taking care of her girlfriend on her period
Tumblr media
“What are you doing here, baby?” Regina sat down at her vanity table to take off her rings after she noticed you curled up in her bed after school. She received no response, so she decided to gently pull back the thick duvet covering you.
Snatching it back quickly, you huffed and scowled at her, “leave me alone.” Regina scoffed, “you're in my bed.” You only buried yourself deeper into her sheets, not caring about how your girlfriend could potentially be mad at you for ignoring her.
Regina began to frantically wrack her brain for what could make you feel and act in such a way. She didn't recall you feeling ill recently nor did she think she'd done anything to upset you.
Her mother came upstairs and saw Regina leaning over your figure in bed, quietly leaving a tray of snacks for the both of you. She had let you in before your girlfriend had gotten home and told you to make yourself comfortable upstairs.
The assortment of food that June had left was entirely different to what Regina had been eating before she met you. Ever since you had started to get closer to her, slowly her incessant thoughts about being conscious of her body were replaced by your consistent compliments about how perfect she looked.
Carefully, she rustled a bag of crisps, hoping it would get you to emerge from your cocoon of safety. Wordlessly, your arm reached out from under the blanket, your hand open. Regina placed the bag in your hand and you were quick to begin eating it under the blankets.
Suddenly, it clicked for Regina. She remembered you complaining about PMS a few days prior and how terrible it was making you feel.
Going into full protective girlfriend mode, she quickly ordered pizza and took off her makeup before getting into some comfy pyjamas. She went downstairs to collect the food and a hot water bottle with painkillers, bringing them up to you in a hurry.
She knew that you were always especially hungry when you were on your period but your cramps made it too hard to move to get anything to eat. As she climbed into bed, she set up her laptop with a new reality show playing quietly in the background.
“Baby, food’s here!” she gently shook your arm, which got you to uncover yourself. A small smile was evident on your features as you saw the box of pizza on Regina's bed. “All for you, sweetie,” she opened the box and fed you a slice.
As she continued to feed you, you became more like your normal self, chatting away to your girlfriend as she held the hot water bottle to your lower stomach. After you had eaten, she handed you some ibuprofen and a glass of water, encouraging you to take it so you could nap in peace.
“Is there anything else I can get for you, m’lady?” Regina teased. “You know those chocolate strawberries we made last night?” you sheepishly grinned. “Say no more, my queen,” Regina bowed, making you giggle.
She ran downstairs and retrieved them quickly, “nothing but the best for my perfect, beautiful girl.” You blushed, “thank you Gigi.”
Regina put her arm around you as she got comfortable with you tucked into her side, “so, are you gonna share those?” The expression on your face was priceless, “I am bleeding out of my uterus Regina George and you have the audacity to ask me-”
She chucked quietly as she silently regretted even asking as she listened to your rant.

homesick — hamzahthefantastic
contains: fluff!!!!! also talks abt feeling anxious and stressed bc i am feeling anxious and stressed lol
summary: after a week long work trip, all you desire is the comfort of your boyfriend.
a/n: short n sweet fic but i might be working on a longer halloween themed one…maybe…heheheh..
you walk off the airplane. you’re exhausted from the busy week you spent working in los angeles.
as much as you loved that city, you were eager to leave it.
when you moved to toronto two years ago, you were nervous. you knew absolutely no one.
but you made great friends. and even got a boyfriend, hamzah.
you two met when you moved into his apartment building. you exchanged glances in the hallways and made small talk in the elevator until you eventually grew closer.
now you two had been together for over a year and moved into an apartment together.
he made toronto feel like home. and god you were homesick.
you walk out of the airport, instantly met by the crisp autumn air. you scan your eyes around, finding hamzah’s honda civic parked right where he promised. hamzah leans against the car, swiping away on his phone.
you approach the car eagerly. the second hamzah sees you, he rushes to grab your suitcase, pressing a quick kiss to your lips.
“hi beautiful, how was the flight?” he asks as he fits your bags into the trunk of the car.
“it was okay. i couldn’t really sleep. the woman next to me literally had her shoes and socks off- it was all i could focus on.”
a look of disgust washes over his face, “dogs fully out on the plane is crazy.” he laughs.
you two talk for the rest of the ride back home, giving each other a recap on your week apart.
once you arrive home, hamzah carries your bags up to the apartment. you unlock your front door, holding it open for him. he drops them to the floor and instantly, his hands go to your waist.
he snakes his arms around your back, lifting you up in the process. your arms wrap around the top of his shoulders.
your head fits in the crook of his neck like matching puzzle pieces. and the warmth of his skin on your face brings you an immense sense of relief.
all week you’ve been repressing your emotions. there’s been so much going on in your life- drama from family and work. you’ve just been too busy to address any of it.
but now, safe in your boyfriend’s arms, you felt all your emotions began to resurface.
you sigh into his embrace, feeling tears threatening to fall from the corner of your eyes.
“you okay?” he questions. his voice is soft and his tone is gentle.
that simple question makes you fall apart. you can’t help but cry on his shoulder.
“i missed you so bad.” you let out through your cries.
he sets you down on the ground, bringing his hands to your face and using his thumbs to gently wipe the tears from your eyes. his brows knit together worriedly.
“what’s wrong, baby?”
“just stressed with, everything.” you explain, “feels like i haven’t got a break lately.”
he walks you over to the couch in your living room. he grabs your waist, placing you on his lap.
“you can talk to me about it.” he says, running his hand up and down your back soothingly.
you nod and lay your head on his shoulder once again.
“everything feels so difficult- and i’ve been feeling so anxious all the time and i don’t know how to stop it.” you explain, worried that your emotional rambling made no sense.
hamzah wasn’t sure how he should respond. he was so nervous he might say the wrong thing.
“is there anything i can do?” he asks, sweeping your hair behind your ear with his fingers.
you shake your head, “this is good.” you lean closer into him.
he maneuvers the both of you so that you’re now laying down on the couch. lying there face to face with arms wrapped around one another.
“i wish i could make it all go away.” he whispers.
his voice is so genuine it makes you want to cry even more. you never thought you’d find someone that truly cared about your feelings.
“you make it better.” you smile softly. “it was just hard being away from home.”
he rubs your back lovingly.
he loves that you feel at home in toronto now. he remembered the way you used say you felt out of place in the city.
“i’m sorry you had a hard time on your trip, angel.”
“s’okay.” you reply.
“feels good to have you home.” he says, kissing the top of your forehead. “i was losing my mind over here- had me talking to the cats.”
you laugh at the image of him ranting to red and blue.
“you wanna order food and watch a movie?” he asks softly- knowing just how much comfort you find in a movie night.
“yeah.” you smile.
he releases one arm from his hold on you, pulling out his phone from his back pocket. you start to pull away from his embrace to give him space to order the food.
“no no! c’mere.” he demands, hooking his arm back around you and holding his phone in his hands behind you. he continues to type away on his phone with you in between his arms.
you giggle at this. you absolutely loved when hamzah was clingy with you.
“thai food?” he questions.
“mhm, you know me so well.”
you two spend the rest of your night eating too much food on your couch while watching all of your favorite rom-coms.
hamzah makes an effort to make you laugh all night, cracking numerous jokes during each movie and pretend snoring during the less exciting scenes.
your boyfriend doing everything he could to cheer you up meant the absolute world to you. you were so so happy to be home.
a/n: feeling like this is so so cringe but i think that about everything i write lol but i wrote this quick and did not proofread so sorry lol k bye muah

This road trip was supposed to be fun. Your boyfriend—Tony—had promised you that. He promised that you’d have a great time. He promised that he would give you all his undivided attention. He promised he’d reign in his creepy friend’s weird comments. He’d promised he wouldn’t let his anger get to him.
“Jesus, old man. Just start the pumps back—“
But said old man interrupts him. They’d been going at this for a good few minutes now. “I cannot do that. You will have to come tomorrow. There’s a nice, luxury motel my buddy runs just up the road.”
“Listen,” Tony lets out a deep breath to try and control himself before he jumps over the counter to strangle the poor man. “We’re only trying to get out of this town, man. It is just one car.”
“If I start the oil back up, I’dun have to start it up for ev’rybody,” the man shakes his head, and I know he’s itching to keep up with the Southern Hospitality act.
You start to space out, having gotten used to Tony’s temper. You just wanted to sleep, no matter where. You spin on your heel and start walking down the candy aisle. There's a buzzing sound above you and you look up to see a flickering light. You swear you can make out the black dots of bugs that are being burnt to a crisp by the blinding lights.
You almost scream as someone jumps next to you – seemingly out of nowhere – before you realize that it’s just your friend Stephanie. “Whachu want, girl?”
“Steph—“ You whisper-yell, and the girl only giggles. You shove her lightly and turn your attention back on the rows of different sugary confections. She looks up to see Tony still arguing with the gas station attendant.
“How long is he gonna keep doing that?” She asks you. You shrug in response. After a few silent moments, she walks around you. “Gonna calm him down.”
“Mhm,” you hum and pick up a bag that is interesting to you. You squeeze it for no other reason than to hear the familiar crinkle of the plastic. From the corner of your eye, you can make out a figure walking over to you. You bristle already as Don’s cologne already starts to make your eyes sting.
“You gonna get that?” He asks you and you want to immediately punch the cocky grin off his face.
“No, just looking,” you answer simply. You place the candy bag back in its spot and cross your arms.
“You’re already so hostile,” he chuckles, poking your side. You take a step to the side, putting more space between you. “Dude, come on. I’m just playing.”
Don was never “just playing.” You almost learned that the hard way.
“I think we're almost leaving,” mumbling, you turn to leave. He scoffs and stays in his spot as you walk toward Tony. Stephanie plays idly with her hair — not helping to calm Tony in the slightest.
You were about to respond when a man nearly slams you to the ground. You catch yourself on your boyfriend’s back, who only noticed the interaction when you bumped into him.
 “Watch it, asshole—” he shouts.
You snap your head in the direction of the door, but the man was already gone. The bell hanging from the door almost flew off — you only caught a glimpse of white.
“You know what? Fine.” Tony glares at the worker. “Let’s just go to this shitty-ass motel and sleep with bed bugs, guys. Thanks for nothing, motherfucker.”
Stephanie and Don snicker, and your face burns from embarrassment.
“Luxury motel” my ass, you thought. This place was the dingiest shit hole you’d ever seen. It was a classic two-story nightmare that you would see in a horror movie. There was only one other car but yours, and you could see the grime on the walls from the car. The rust that clung to the metal railings on the upper level streaked down like old bloodstains. Half of the lights on the neon sign that perched from the roof were dead — making it read as “Mo.” But there was nothing your group could do tonight. There was only enough gas to drive back to the gas station tomorrow.
After securing the rooms — and Tony weirdly insisting that you and him have a room upstairs while your friends were downstairs — you all decided to head to the pool. That was the most normal your group had ever been in a while. You played around with them as they splashed water on each other, and Tony even got a little clingy. You missed that feeling of his body enveloping yours in his warmth – and not just for sex.
“I am so tired,” Stephanie exclaims as she climbs out of the pool. You follow behind her and grab your towel. Stephanie pauses and turns to look at you. “Hey, have you guys seen my key?”
“Didn’t you bring it?” You tilt your head to the side, wrapping your towel around you.
“I thought I did. Where the fuck—did one of you guys take it?” She looks over your shoulder to look at the two men. They only shook their heads. “Ugh. Guess I have to talk to that weirdo at the front desk. What was this name again? Miles? Mickey?”
“Micheal,” you correct her, suppressing a smile.
“Oh, yeah,” she giggled. “Micheal Myers.”
Tumblr media
As you walk back upstairs to your room, you can’t help but walk a little closer to Tony. You felt shiver spreading like ice under your skin. An invisible force made you feel heavier, as if someone’s eyes were pressing into your back. The prickling sensation of the hairs on your body raising caused you to turn your head to look behind your shoulder.
“Scared?” The sound of your boyfriend’s voice causes you to look straight ahead. Both of you had stopped just in front of the stairs – you hadn’t realized.
“This place is so creepy,” is all you say.
The motel room was just as shitty as the outside, but at least it was warm. The lights were all a disgusting yellow color against the fake wood paneling. There was a small TV sitting on an aged drawer, a desk with a table, and a singular bed that you could already smell the dust from. You remind yourself to urge Tony not to use the thick blanket when you sleep.
You had just received a text from Stephanie saying she was going to sleep when Tony stepped out of the bathroom. You sent a quick message back to your friend before putting the phone down on the bed. You smiled up at Tony as he walked over to your side. He cupped your chin – sending a wave of heat through your whole body – before he lets it fall back to his side.
“I’m going to Don’s room downstairs,” he informs you and your face falls.
“Why?” You ask before you can stop yourself.
“He brought his PS4,” he says it like it’s obvious.
Of course.
“’Kay, well,” you swallow your disappointment. “Take the key. I’m not waking up to let you back in.”
“My own girl would let me sleep outside?” He looks at you with a lopsided grin, tilting his head. You can’t help but smile back. He hadn’t called you that in a while.
“I could. Now go.”
“Bye, baby,” he chuckles and turns to leave.
Your eyes stay trained on the back of his head until it’s blocked by the closing of a door. You bite at the inside of your cheek. You close your eyes, reinviting the tiredness you had felt earlier. Lifting the blanket, you slide down beneath it, settling into a lying position. An odd, old smell wafts from the sheets, but the warmth provides a comfort that you need.
You’re woken up from your slumber by the sound of a blaring car alarm. The walls do nothing to muffle the sound of the piercing, repetitive wail. Surely any member of your group could do it, and you wouldn’t need to get up. After another minute, you toss the blankets off you and swing your legs over the edge of the mattress. Sliding your shoes on, you stand up.
The keys jingle as you pick them up and stomp over to the door. You stick half of your body out of the door and point at the keys in the general direction of the car. That didn’t work. You groan and walk outside to get closer to the railing – the door closes behind you. Oh shit. But it was too late when you turned around. Pressing down on the right key fob, the car finally shuts up. You try the door anyway. No luck. The only one with the room key is Tony.
You walk down the stairs of the motel. In the distance, you could see Don still at the pool. Funny, you thought. Wasn’t he supposed to be playing with Tony? Maybe he got bored of watching your boyfriend. Walking over to Don’s room, a noise captures your attention. It’s not talking, more like moaning and giggling – from Stephanie’s room. You realized that you could see a crack of light coming from the door – it hadn’t been fully closed. You snicker, thinking of how you’d tease her for being desperate enough to get with Don.
Wait, but… you just saw Don. Still at the pool. And there had been no sign of Tony.
Slowly, and with an anxious flutter in your chest, you step in front of the door. The door stays miraculously silent as you gently push it open. You swear that your heart stops beating. There, on Stephanie’s bed, the pair are writhing against each other. Tony mouths at the side of her throat, while your friend’s arms are snaking under his shirt. You slammed the door as your heart threatens to jump out of your throat. You walk away, dazed – ignoring the loud sounds that emit from the closed room.
Tumblr media
The air in the room was heavy with the scent of copper and the drone of the motel lights above. Jeff is leaning over the bodies of Stephanie and Tony, his blade dripping red as he finishes the final carving of a grotesque grin on Tony’s face. He’s precise with his movements – like an artist putting the final strokes to their masterpiece. Jeff had to reposition the bitch back on top of the girl he was swapping spit with. God, he could still see the look of horror on their faces. Her skin was pale and dull, with a similar smile etched onto her features.
He straightens up and takes a step back, assessing his work, and his head tilted. He’d really outdone himself this time, he thought. Jeff smirks, reveling in his sick joke. He lazily wipes his blade on Tony’s sleeve – not that it made a difference. These two were coated in blood he had fun playing with.
The shrill scream slices through his moment of silence – it had come from outside. He freezes before his head snaps toward the door. Who was that? His pulse accelerates, not from fear, but from curiosity. He walks to the door, another wide grin on his face. He cracks it open enough to peek his head through, the sound drowned out by the lingering echoes of the scream.
Jeff can see you on the second floor, standing frozen in place and trembling. His eyes travel down to the crumpled body on the floor – it was the other guy. Don, or whatever. His body lays in an unnatural position, and he can see the man’s lifeless face. His jaw was out of place, jutting out like an extreme underbite. Jeff would’ve cackled if he wasn’t meant to be quiet. That’s what’s so boring about targeting a group of people. He had to be quiet until everyone was dead. Which they all were, eventually.
But, then, his eyes flicker to you again. You weren’t crying like he thought you would be. You were just… there – you didn’t even look down to make sure your buddy was okay. Just one peek was enough for you – got you hollering like a pig – but you weren’t crying or running for the cops. He leans out further as you mechanically walk over to the stairs. The split second of fear he had seen on your face was all but gone. Your shock had made you numb, and you would just walk around it like it was nothing. Like your friend’s mangled body was just a bug.
“Oh, you’re fucked up,” Jeff whispered, a smirk on his face.
That excited him. He would be the one to get you crying in terror soon.
Tumblr media
Nothing seemed real anymore. You were sure this was some kind of nightmare. That’s why you didn’t care. You just walked over to the ice machine – ignoring Don’s body on the floor – and grabbed a handful of ice. You don’t waste another second and shove as many ice cubes in your mouth as you could. Some had slipped out and crackled against the concrete floor. The pieces that skittered away had flown at your feet. But you didn’t feel it. You didn’t feel anything.
As you crunch on the ice, you slide some of the remaining pieces over your skin. The stinging cold that you would usually feel was replaced by a slight buzzing under your skin. You’re not sure whether you’re glad you can’t feel anything or not. You just wanted to sleep now.
Oh, right. The room key.
Letting the remaining ice cubes fall to the floor, you spun to head in the direction of the lobby. You didn’t want to deal with seeing your boyfriend’s tongue in your best friend’s mouth. You decided that you’d deal with them tomorrow. You didn’t care anymore. And they didn’t care either, it seemed. That’s why they didn’t come out running after you, right? They didn’t care enough to even pretend like they felt guilty. Tony wasn’t groveling at your feet, and Stephanie wasn’t crying her eyes out – begging you to still be her best friend. They had to know it was you that came into the room and slammed the door.
The lights overhead were a dull, sterile white compared to the yellow of the rooms – but it still smelled like piss. You could hear some sports game being played on a tiny, clunky box TV. But there was no sign of the owner. You turned your head from side to side but saw no sign of the fat old man. When you look back at the front desk, you notice the small rack of candy. Fuck it, you shrug as you reached a hand out and grab one. The numb buzz was starting to die down, but there was still no sense of real fear. Just the same tiredness you felt all day.
Guess you’d have to speed up the reunion early, huh?
The door to the room was slightly ajar once again. You had closed it, you remembered that. Maybe they had gone looking for you. Or at least when you had screamed. You nudged the door open with your foot.
Dropping the bag of candy on the floor, you felt bile rising in your throat. Your heart stopped for what seemed like the third time tonight. You honestly wished it would stop forever.
The putrid stench of the blood – let alone the sight of it – attacks your senses and made your head spin. The bodies were positioned as if they were frozen in a perverse display of intimacy. Tony’s face was right up on Stephanie’s, her cheek was being pulled on by Tony’s teeth to make it look like he was eating her face. Your stomach churned and eyes brimmed with hot tears. Doubling over, you retched onto the already stained carpet in the room.
You staggered backward, your legs threatening to give out as they shook. But you managed to take quicks steps back in the direction of the lobby. Your blood seemed to rush to your head, and you could’ve mistaken the pumping for the sound of drums. You wanted to scream and cry and throw up all at once. You wanted out.
Rounding the corner, the motel owner stepped out of a nearby room just a few feet in front of you. You could see the sweat on his shirt as he fiddled with the key ring – he was locking a door. He raised a hand to wipe some sweat from his brow, oblivious to your approach.
Your heart pounded as you stopped dead in your tracks. His actions were so mundane compared to the horror you had just witnessed. It made your stomach do flips. This was just another night for him. Another night of fixing the rooms and watching football on his TV.
“Sir-sir,” you tried to speak, but it came out in a shaky rasp.
Micheal turned to you, his brows raising in surprise. You had startled him. He gave you a once-over before smiling. “Is there anything I can do for you, miss?”
“They’re…” Your lips trembled as you tried to get the words to come out of your mouth instead of puke. You knew you were inaudible, but you didn’t have the strength to speak properly. “They’re… all… They’re dead.”
“I’m sorry, hon,” he leaned forward and squinted. “What was that? I didn’t quite catch—”
The man’s eyes widened and a wet, gargle emitted from his mouth as it hung open. Blood poured from the side of his neck, and a hand shot out to grab his shoulder and stabilize him. There was a squelching sound as the knife was dragged just above the owner’s shoulder. He crumples forward, sending a shower of blood your way, and some of it fills your mouth before you close it tight. Your eyes follow the sight of the keys that land with a soft jingle at your feet.
You stare at the man responsible for only a second. His scarred, unnaturally pale face is framed by jet-black hair that falls wildly across his face. It casts shadows onto his skin, especially his sunken-in, hollow eyes. They’re wide as they stare at you – cold and vacant. His most defining and spine-chilling feature is the wide, carved out smile on his face. It looked like it had scabbed over months ago, but it was still glaringly present. If this man was human, he didn’t look it.
But you act faster than you or he anticipated. You dive for the keys, picking them off the ground, when, suddenly, you feel a hand grab your wrist. He pulls you back up, bringing you closer to his body.
Just when you thought it was all over, you realize that the man is just staring at you. You feel his warm breath hit your face, and you can’t tear your eyes away from him. You’re confused, and it seems that so is he. Using this to your advantage, you smash the ring of keys into the side of his head.
As he howls out in pain, you break free and take a few steps back. You turn and bolt in the direction of a beat-up truck – the only other vehicle in the parking lot. Your hands shook and you clutched at the keys held tightly in your palm. It felt like you could suffocate with the heavy, tense air that surrounded you.
You cursed under your breath as you tried – and failed – to fit the key into the car door. The sound of the jingling only heightened your sense of panic. The key finally slipped into the lock, and you let out a quiet whimper. You yanked the car open, not daring to turn around.
Jeff simply watched you with a wide grin on his face. He was amused by your desperation – elated by the thrill of hunting you down. When the car clicked open, something in him clicked. His smile faltered as the realization that you were almost getting away hit him hard. With quick movements, he sprinted toward you and rounded the car to the driver’s seat.
You practically flew into the driver’s seat and slammed the door just as Jeff’s knife made contact with the window. The loud, grating sound of metal meeting glass caused you to scream. But you continued your attempt to get away. You jam the keys into the ignition, ignoring the hand slamming into the window.
“You bitch,” he snarled, banging on the glass. “I’m gonna gut you like a pig when I get my fucking hands on you!”
The tires of the car screech as you threw it into gear, jerking it backwards. Jeff continued to try and slice through the window, the sharp blade leaving a jagged mark. He took a step back to avoid his foot getting run over by one of the tires. He watches as you manically speed out of the parking lot, his figure getting smaller in the rearview mirror.
Your breath was coming out in short bursts, and your heart pounded wildly. As you drive off, you get one final look at him. He just stands in the parking lot, his own chest rising and falling rapidly. He doesn’t chase your stolen car, but you can tell that his mind is thinking of how he can enact his revenge. For now, he’s proud that you’ve gotten away just this time.
Tumblr media
Two Weeks Later
Jeff couldn’t stop thinking about you. He very rarely lets people get away on his sprees. Not that he was going to let you live, don’t be fucking stupid. He knew how to find you and what he’d do. The man was just biding his time. He wanted the time to be right. He wanted to make it special for you.
The thing was, that second guy – the one that was crushed on the floor – that wasn’t Jeff’s kill. And, as far as he knew, it wasn’t poor old Micheal’s either. You did that. Something had made you snap. And Jeff knew that feeling all too well. Just what had that useless motherfucker done to you? Must’ve been bad enough to cause a sweet little thing like you to break.
He… sympathized with you. In a very stupid way that he hated. But he also loved the blank look in your eyes as your brain numbed you to the act you acted on. That made him want you, oh, so badly.
Tumblr media
He could make as many excuses as he wanted, but he wanted you. His mind replayed the whole thing like a movie. He thought about you while he trained, while he maimed, while he slept. And especially while pumping his hand along his cock. He’d stare up at the ceiling, mouth hanging open as low moans dragged out from his throat. He thought of the way your face twisted in fear, the blood that spattered on you, and oh that felt just right. That’s why he needed to see you again. He wanted you. He wanted you. He wanted you.
He hoped you were prepared.

“Lewis, Next Door”~ pt 1 Lewis Hamilton x Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Warning: age gap, alcohol?
Summary: Coming home from university, Y/N expects a quiet reunion with family—until she finds herself face-to-face with the enigmatic Lewis Hamilton, her dad’s famous neighbor and friend. What starts as a dull evening soon turns unexpectedly electric when Lewis offers more than just small talk.
I hadn’t been home all semester. Between studying, late-night group projects, and the occasional breakdown, the past few months at uni had been… a lot. I’d pushed through, and even though I’d missed my parents, there was something about finishing this term that made me feel a little invincible. I was finally here, though, bags slung over my shoulder as I hugged my mom in the doorway and let my dad ruffle my hair in that way he always did.
Home sweet home.
After the greetings and settling in, I noticed someone else was around. Our neighbor, Lewis Hamilton, was back too. Usually, he was off racing, so it was a rare sight. I wasn’t someone who followed F1 religiously, but I knew Lewis was a big deal—and the whole “dad’s friend” thing only made it more surreal. The few times we’d run into each other, I’d been struck by how effortlessly confident he was. Attractive? Absolutely. Intimidating? Without a doubt. But, honestly, I’d never thought much beyond that. He was just Lewis, the neighbor.
That night, my dad was throwing a big party to celebrate his latest product launch. Fancy guests, fancy decorations, fancy everything—the whole nine yards. I’d barely unpacked, and here I was, getting ready to play dress-up and smile politely for a parade of strangers. My friends were out clubbing tonight, living it up, and I couldn’t help but feel a pang of envy. But I loved my dad, so here I was, hair styled, makeup on point, feeling like I’d stepped into someone else’s life for the night.
As the party got into full swing, I did my best to stay interested, though I kept glancing at my phone, imagining my friends dancing somewhere with loud music and neon lights. Instead, I was here, weaving through clusters of my dad’s colleagues. He was chatting with a group of important-looking men, so I took my chance and approached him, feeling like a little kid again as I asked, “Can I please just have one drink?”
He shot me a disapproving look. “No. You know the answer.”
“Fine,” I muttered, trying not to let my frustration show. I wandered around a bit, catching snippets of adult conversation that were all about business deals and tax write-offs. Glamorous.
Finally, I spotted a lonely champagne glass on a table. I glanced around, and with a little thrill of rebellion, I picked it up, taking a sip. It was cold and crisp, and even though I’d never been a huge fan of champagne, it felt like a tiny slice of freedom. A few more sips, and I was actually starting to relax.
That’s when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned, and there he was—Lewis, giving me a knowing smile.
“I see you like my drink?” he teased, eyes glinting with amusement.
My stomach dropped. Oh god, I’d taken his champagne? “Oh my god. I’m so sorry… I didn’t know… I can get you a new one if you want, I just—”
He chuckled, shaking his head. His laugh was low and warm, and something about it made me relax, just a bit. “Nah, I’m messing with you. It’s fine. I don’t even really drink anyways.” He grinned, flashing a glimpse of a gold grill that made him look both mischievous and effortless, a vibe that seemed distinctly Lewis.
I managed a shy nod, suddenly unsure of what to do with my hands. “Oh… good. Thanks.” I couldn’t believe I was so nervous. But he just kept looking at me, his gaze both curious and relaxed.
He leaned in slightly, lowering his voice. “You bored? I’m so bored. No offense to your dad, of course.”
I let out a laugh, surprised at how blunt he was. “It’s boring,” I admitted, feeling a little guilty, but somehow knowing he understood. He had this whole wild, glamorous life, and a party like this was probably as dull as watching paint dry for him.
“So, what? You’re back from uni, huh? That’s crazy. I remember when you were like, ten,” he says, a teasing smile playing on his lips.
I feel my cheeks heat up with a pang of embarrassment. Here I was, feeling all cool and grown up, and he still saw me as a kid. Great.
“Yep,” I reply, trying to keep my tone light but failing to hide the faint annoyance.
“Well, you’re better than me,” he shrugs. “I never finished school.” I glance at him, surprised he’s trying to keep this conversation going. Usually, we barely exchanged two words, and now, here we were, alone, talking like… friends? Something more? I didn’t know.
“Well… yeah, but you’re a millionaire,” I say, trying to sound casual, though there’s a little hint of playfulness in my voice. I’m not exactly flirting, but maybe a little. Just testing the waters.
He raises an eyebrow, smiling at me but seeming almost uncomfortable at the mention of his money. He shrugs again. “You’re not exactly struggling either,” he teases back.
Was… that a flirt? Or was I just imagining it? It’s just the way he said it, the way his gaze lingers a moment longer than it should. My pulse quickens, but I try to play it cool.
“No… not exactly,” I say, catching his hint and matching his tone. I glance around, making a point about how dull this party is. “Just right now.”
He chuckles, and there’s a mischievous glint in his eyes. “Maybe next time, you come to one of my parties,” he says. It sounds more like a command than an invitation, like he’s decided I’ll be there.
I nod softly, trying to hide the thrill in my expression. He’s really inviting me? He seems amused, almost as if my reaction is endearing.
“Yeah, maybe,” I say with a slight shrug, finishing off the champagne. I feel his eyes on me, and when I look up, he’s studying me, like he’s considering something.
Then he breaks into a grin. “I could give you my number,” he says, casual but direct.
I raise an eyebrow, trying to mask the excitement bubbling up. “Oh?”
“So you can tell me next time you’re bored,” he adds, giving me a cheeky wink.
I feel my cheeks flush as I pull out my phone. He takes it from me, putting his number in. My hands are shaking just a bit when he hands it back.
“There,” he says with that familiar grin. “Now you’ll be set.”
“Cool. Thanks,” I say, somehow managing to keep my voice steady. Inside, though, I feel my heart racing.
He glances back at the party, then back at me, giving me one last wink. “I should probably go talk to your dad. See you around, Y/N.”
And then he’s gone, leaving me standing there, still holding the empty champagne glass, my mind spinning. His number. His number. A part of me feels like I’m floating.

you weren’t really sure when chenle started being more obsessed with your liquid intake, maybe a month ago or so? he’d always been the first to say you were dehydrated if you didn’t feel good. he would pour you a glass of water and pat your head waiting for you to down the glass. he’d call you a good puppy and have that smug little grin when you started to feel better.
but lately. lately he’s been almost trying to drown you. he’d bring you fancy juices to try or make cocktails for you after dinner. and you didn’t mind, you definitely didn’t mind being spoiled. maybe that’s all it was, a new way to spoil you.
chenle did know when it started. he could pinpoint the exact moment the switch flipped. it was almost 4 months ago since it happened and he felt crazy for being obsessed but he couldn’t help it.
it had been a long day of shopping for christmas gifts, spending way to much time on your feet carrying bags and boxes around. finally when you had both checked everything off your lists he decided to take you to a cocktail lounge somewhere you both could relax and unwind. he mainly went because you had been talking about trying this place out. he wasn’t planning on drinking and didn’t think you would get a drunk as you did but you were slurring and leaning on him as you walked to the car together that night.
it was windy and blowing your skirt up making you giggle as you leaned into him.
“hold m- hold my h-and,” you hiccuped holding your hand to him and he grabbed it while tightening his arm around your waist as you walked.
“i think you had a little too much, baby,” he sighed, opening the car door for you. you pouted up at him with hair in your eyes and something made his heart ache with how pretty you looked.
“nope i want you,” you slurred, poking his chest. “to make me a dirty martini.” you hiccuped but wagged your eyebrows as best you could.
“how about i make you an ice water,” he grinned as you got in the passenger seat. you pouted at him your legs were spread as the wind blew your skirt showing your panties. he raised an eyebrow as you groaned about wanting a martini before shutting the door and hurrying to the driver's seat.
when he got in you were still talking about the martini and doing a poor job of begging him to make one. he let you ramble as he started the car and pulled onto the street towards home.
“pleaseee - pretty extra please make me one,” you were grabbing his arm now.
“no can do, baby i’m making you a nice big crisp glass of water and you are going to drink it all for me,” he told you, coming to a stop light. suddenly this reminded you of the overwhelming need to pee.
“i need to pee,” you whined.
“can you hold it baby, we're almost home,” he said, eyeing you from his seat.
“gotta go so bad,” you whimpered, reaching your hand between your legs to cup yourself hoping to keep yourself from going. chenle had to pull his eyes away from you the desperation in your voice made him tingle for some reason. but he couldn’t focus on that, he needed to get you home. he heard you whispering to yourself that you could hold it, you could do it. your leg was bouncing and your left hand was gripping his arm, the nails digging in.
“it’s okay baby, we’re almost there,” he soothed, running his hand over your shaking leg. he hadn’t realized that he was practically speeding but he was already pulling into the parking deck finding the closest spot to the door. he got out quickly running to your side and helping you out before dragging you into the building. he hastily pressed the elevator button as if it would come faster. eventually it dinged and he rubbed your hand as the door closed.
“i can’t i can’t i can’t,” you moaned, bouncing beside him one hand between your legs. your knees were weak and you felt yourself squatting beside chenle while you pressed your legs tightly together.
“so close baby, just a little more,” he said, pulling you back up to stand just as the doors opened. you both ran down the hall and chenle typed in the passkey as fast as he could before pushing the door open. you barreled in kicking your heels off before running to the bathroom not even worrying to shut the door. but then just as relief washed over you, you realized your mistake.
“fuck no, fuck,” you whined, holding your skirt up as hot piss dripped out of your panties.
“you okay,” chenle said before stopping and staring. your wet eyes looked up at him tears of embarrassment slipped down your hot cheeks.
“shhh, it’s okay,” he walked over to you rubbing your back as you pressed your face against him. you were still peeing it felt hot pressed against you in your ruined panties.
“it’s so,” you sniffed. “embarrassing,” you cried into his stomach.
“it’s okay baby. it’s just you and me,” he said, petting your head before tilting your chin to him. “don’t cry.” he leaned down and kissed your forehead. you had finally stopped peeing and chenle helped you up and out of your soaked panties and with the rest of your clothes before getting you into the shower.
he let you shower before taking your soiled clothes to the laundry. he felt more embarrassed by the fact that he got hard while watching you pee and knowing you wet your panties made him even crazier. he didn’t let you know he had gotten off with the image of you holding your skirt up and filling your panties.
Tumblr media
that was when it started for him.
he wasn’t really doing it on purpose. well he kinda sorta was. he liked spoiling you but spoiling you with the chance of you pissing yourself was a bonus. and you weren’t complaining about it so it was probably fine right? he definitely wasn’t telling you that was what he wanted he wasn’t even sure if you remembered, but it was all he thought about he’s fucked you in those same panties 10 fold imagining you filling them before he presses into you getting his cock warm and wet with every thrust.
you had wondered why he had been fucking you in your panties he normally wanted you completely bare for him. you didn’t mind it though you liked how animalistic it seemed, he couldn’t even wait for you to be naked before he ravaged you.
today wasn’t any different, chenle had come home with a new fruity drink for you to try. and you didn’t hesitate to gulp it down because it was undeniably delicious. he smirked at you across the bar as he stirred food in a pan, the straw in your mouth as you casually slurped the purple liquid.
“do you like it?”
“mhmm, so sweet,” he smiled down at the cutting board.
“why are you getting me so many drinks lately?” you asked with the straw between your teeth.
“i just see stuff and it makes me think of you,” he said nonchalantly.
“you’re just the cutest,” you sigh, looking at him dreamily and he rolled his eyes playfully.
“gotta keep you hydrated, baby.”
“unhuh,” you eyed him curiously as the last of your drink bubbled through the straw making you pout. he watched you at the sound.
“what,” he said, putting his hands up in surrender.
“are you sure that’s why?”
“why else would i be buying you a drink?”
“i dunno, you just look guilty.” you raised an eyebrow feigning seriousness. but somehow what you said made him feel guilty.
you didn’t dig any deep or tease him anymore, just watched him cook before setting the table and eating with him. you did eye the large glass of water he poured you along with a glass of wine.
that night you and chenle talked, sharing the last of the wine while you snuggled on the couch.
“what’s something you want me to do but you’re too shy to ask?” you looked at him before downing the rest of your wine before setting the glass on the table.
“you do everything i like and want. but i,” you sigh looking down.
“hmm” he questions.
“i like when you use your feet on me. i’m not saying i’m a foot obsessed person. but i just like the way it makes me feel powerless with you,” you started off strong but finished shyly.
“baby just say you want me to step on you,” he laughed lightly. you whined into his neck shaking your head.
“maybe a little,” you whisper.
“you’re so naughty,” he groaned, leaning his head back as his hand slid up your ass.
“what’s your fantasy? what can i do for you?” you asked, peeking up at him while you fiddled with the hem of his shirt. chenle gulped.
“don’t take this the wrong way. but i want you.” he paused.
“tell me i wanna do it,” you said eagerly. he leaned closer lips grazing your ear.
“pee on me,” he whispered. you gawked, taken aback by what he said. you were sure it would be something less, messy. but it almost made sense for him.
“is this why you’ve been getting me drinks,” you laugh.
“maybe,” he looks away. “but i like spoiling you too.”
“what made you want me to, you know.”
“do you remember when you almost pissed yourself a few months ago?” you groaned covering your face. “nuhuh.” he pulled your hand away and stared at you. “it was so hot you were so desperate and needy, fuck. just thinking about it.” he grabbed your hand bringing it over his already hard cock. you gasped before biting your lip looking up at him innocently.
“please,” he whispered to you.
“it’s so embarrassing.”
“i like it when you’re shy and embarrassed. such a pretty puppy.” he knew what he was doing using puppy to get you to cave. and you wanted to and now talking about pee made you realize how badly you needed to. so you were shifting on him before he pulled you onto his lap. you whined feeling his cock press into you.
“you need to stop wearing these flimsy little skirts,” he said, flipping up the material peeking at your dampening panties.
“and these cute little panties.” his fingers grazed the material and you knew he could feel the wetness because now he was smirking at you.
“you know you make it seem like you don’t want to but you’re so wet, puppy.” you whimpered, bringing your hands to cover your face but he pulled them away. one hand holding your wrist and the other gripping you hips.
“feel how hard you make me,” he moaned as he grinded against you, his hard cock pressing against his zipper. you stayed quiet but moved your hands to release him from his jeans. he watched and you delicately unbuttoned and unzipped his jeans before tenderly gripping his cock letting the head poke out of the waistband of his boxers.
“need you,” you whimper, your hand still fisting at his cock as precum beaded at the tip.
“how bad,” he asked, looking up at you curiously. his fingers teased along the hem of your panties and you wanted him to shove his hand in and touch you.
“so bad.” he smirks at you, fingers dragging down to graze your clothed clit, making you quiver.
“i know you need to go. been filling you up all night for this.” you whined, looking away from him.
“hmm, gonna piss on my cock baby?” you whimpered. you did need to go but you really didn’t want to make a mess.
“lemme,” you mumbled, standing up on weak knees and pulling his jeans down his legs, leaving him in his boxers and tshirt. he looked like a god, leaning back, staring at you with this look of power on his face that made you feel so weak. he groaned when you straddled him and rubbed yourself against his cock.
“don’t make me,” you whined. “so embarrassing.”
“but you need to go so bad, baby,” he replied, pressing a hand against your tummy, making you pull your legs together around him.
“i need to but i can hold it,” you say mainly to yourself.
“just fuck me i can hold it,” you blubber tugging at his boxers ready to pull your panties aside and let him fill you up.
“you really think you can hold it while i fill up your pretty little cunt,” he teases, fingers tickling under your shirt and up your chest. you nodded harshly.
“i can i can do it.” you yelped when his fingers tweaked your nipple bending forward pressing your hands on his chest. he smirked up at you as his thumb brushed your hard nipple, his nails grazing the sensitive skin.
“so if i hold you like this,” he says, moving his hand down to press against your tummy while the other holds your hips in place. you’re squirming when he says, “ while i fuck you, you can hold it?”
“hnngh, wanna hold it. wanna be good and hold it,” you slipped deeper the need to go overwhelming you.
“let go puppy,” you whimpered. not realizing you were but when you felt the familiar warmth you sobbed grabbing at yourself to stop. and you did hold yourself back from letting it all go. you couldn’t see the large wet spot in your panties or feel the way it had started to drip out. but chenle did, he could feel the warm liquid slowly dribble onto his cock making precum pump out of his cock.
“no, no no,” you whined. chenle pressed your tummy again.
“you’re such a good puppy. let go for me.” he groaned.
“want your cock, i can - let me - i can hold it,” you whimper, pulling his waistband down letting his cock free beneath you. lifting your hips as you pulled your panties to the side before sinking down with a groan.
“fuck puppy,” he moaned, leaning his head back but keeping his eyes on you. you did your best to bounce on his cock but you were so full your legs were quivering.
“so full,” you mewled, he reached up pushing your hair out of your face before gripping your hips and fucking back into you harshly. you felt like you would burst any second you couldn’t tell if it was from the need to pee or the need to come. you held your hand over your clit rubbing circles as chenle watched you.
“so fucking good holding it for me, puppy.” he stared at you listening to the sounds of skin slapping filling the room along with your whimpers. watching your lashes flutter against your cheeks and one hand gripping his shirt the other circling your clit. you looked so fucked out so perfect for him.
“so pretty baby, all for me.” you whined down at him, your arms feeling weak from holding your body up.
“so much. can’t hold it.”
“let go, puppy,” he said, pounding into you hard and fast. you couldn’t do it anymore couldn’t hold it in so you let go. relaxing as you let the warmth pour out of you. chenle stared between you watching the hot piss gush from you onto his skin making him groan. your fingers still circled your clit making the liquid squirt onto his chest and stomach and he felt so close to the edge.
“such a good, puppy, so good. so fucking good.” he found himself gripping you tighter and fucking you harder your cunt pulsing around him.
“so close,” you whined, working your hand faster, your stomach full of pleasure instead of the pressure. the mix of release and the building orgasm was too much.
“cum for me, pup,” chenle moaned, thrusting into you faster. you groaned at his words letting your orgasm flood over you, pee still pouring from you as your legs shook and cunt tightened around chenle.
“fuck,” he cursed as he came a moment later filling you up with hot cum. your cunt still pulsing around him as he finished. he stared up at you seeing the last dribbles of pee drip onto him as you slowly continued to rubbed your clit. your hair was a complete mess and your eyes closed and he loved it and wanted it forever.
“you’re so fucking hot,” he groaned, rubbing his hands over your hips.
“it’s so messy,” you finally said, opening your eyes looking at the puddle on your couch.
“lemme see?” he asked, lifting you up off of his cock. he quickly spun you a hand on your back to bend over so he could see your messy cunt. your hands held yourself up as he leaned forward gripping your cheeks pulling them apart to see your puffy hole watching the cum drip out.
“so fucking sexy,” he smirked slapping his hand on your ass making you whine.
“it’s so messy,” you say, turning back to face him.
“but you liked it,” he grins, making you nod shyly.

for the meet-cute event, can you write a blurb about Eddie meeting an introverted girl who also likes dungeons and dragons? maybe he sees a D20 pin on her bag or they're in a game store and he strikes up a conversation there? ❤️ love u bestie, im so glad you began writing fanfic because I wouldn't have met you or red and then we wouldn't be married
Your meet cute happens in a Creative Writing class (featuring the College AU Eddie I know you adore)!
CW: College AU, shy!Reader WC: 542 Divider credit to @hellfire--cult
Tumblr media
You loved the first day of the semester. Everything was just so new. New courses, new professors, even the crisp new syllabi had you excited for the next sixteen weeks.
Nerdy? Perhaps. But you embraced it wholeheartedly.
Your first class today was an elective: Creative Writing. Something to help balance out the heavier courses you needed for your major.
Sliding into an empty desk in the second row, you took a fresh notebook and a blue pen out of your backpack and placed the bag on the floor. The D20 pin on the front pocket pinged when it touched the metal table leg.
“Holy shit!”
You whipped around to see a lanky, curly-haired guy leaning out of his seat from the back row. He looked at your bag, then up at you.
“Is that a D20?” His chocolate brown eyes were alight with excitement.
Nodding, you forced yourself to focus on making conversation instead of how good looking this man was. You allowed your gaze to linger long enough to notice the litany of tattoos that decorated his arms. Bats, some sort of marionette…
The guy grinned. “You, uh you play?”
Another nod. Christ, say something. “Y-Yeah. I mean, I have a group back home. I don’t really know anyone here who plays,” you stuttered, hoping he couldn’t sense your nervousness. He was cute. Really cute.
He stretched out his hand, not caring that he bumped the arm of the person sitting in front of him. “Well, now you do. Eddie Munson, Dungeon Master. At your service.”
You took his hand and shook it, his grip firm but kind and his palm callused. Did you hold onto it for too long? Oh my God, you definitely did, and you definitely made things awkward.
To your surprise–and relief–Eddie didn’t jerk back in disgust. Nor did he look at you with any sort of pity. Instead, he leaned back in his seat with a knowing smile. “I’m starting up another campaign this week,” he said. “Our group meets Thursdays in the Porter Hall common room, second floor, at six PM. And we always order pizza or something so we don’t, y’know, starve to death.”
His dramatics brought a smile to your own face. “It would be pretty hard to slaughter our enemies on empty stomachs.”
“Exactly.” Eddie pointed a ringed finger at you. “I’m nothing if not a fair leader.”
“I can bring snacks, too,” you offered. It was the least you could do, considering he had extended the invitation to join in the first place.
Eddie placed a hand on his heart in exaggerated appreciation. “An angel on Earth. I’ll never turn down snacks. And if you got some of those ruffly potato chips, you’d be my personal hero.”
“I think I can do that.”
“Great.” Eddie looked like he had more to say, but the professor walked in then, so he just let out a sigh. “Let me walk you back to the dorms after class? I’d love to discuss some campaign ideas with a fellow DnD nerd.”
Your top tooth dug into your lower lip as you nodded again. Something fluttered in your stomach that couldn’t be satiated with ruffly potato chips.
The end of the lecture wouldn’t arrive fast enough.

God I’m always the biggest sucker for AUs where Sukuna is Yuji’s older brother and is just smarter and stronger and the reader is Yuji’s lil friend in his friend circle- literally the only one pining for his ripped older brother like 👀👀👀❤️💦💦💦 ‘h-hi’
GAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHSJDNFKSDNKSDNG I LOVE THIS SO MUCH TOOOOOO
theres always something about the older brother of a friend.................................................................................
he will find u so cute and adorable, such a nervous little thing before his eyes,,, sukuna doesnt usually gaf about yuuji's friends and whatnot but you pique his interest....
sorry i got carried away and wrote a whole thing on this oopsies it's very lengthy and wordy...
thinking about the first day you get invited to yuujis house along with megumi and nobara without thinking much of it, only to run into his older brother who turns out to be totally your type
(youre the type of person who develops a crush easily, so much so that no one bats an eye when you tell them that you have a new crush, rip.)
"i thought i told you not to bring your shitty meetings into the house, brat," he tells yuuji coldly, staring down at you and yuuji in the living room.
"awh, shut up! if you can bring your hookups home, i can bring my friends!" sukuna rolls his eyes at him.
"make sure to stay quiet, then. else, i'm kicking all of you out."
all of your friends give side eyes at each other, thinking about what an asshole yuujis older brother is but youre staring at him with puppy eyes, in love at first sight (and he notices it all)
sukuna retreats to his room, and you're already gushing at everyone else about your new crush... all your friends are like 😑
(it's nothing serious at this point, think of it like a fan admiring an idol)
you begin frequenting yuujis house just to get glimpses of him from then on
the four of you are watching a film in the living room, when the snacks run out
you volunteer to grab some more from the kitchen...and there you find sukuna making himself a sandwich...shirtless.
internally screaming, you freeze on the spot for a second before recollecting yourself and focusing on the original objective, to ogle at his bulging muscles- no, that's not it.. to grab more snacks for your friends...
you try to avert your gaze from him as you look for an appropriate bowl to pour the bag of crisps into, but the cupboard! it's too high up!
you try on your tippy toes and manage to touch the bowl, but it's still a struggle...
"you know, you should just ask for help, instead of potentially making more trouble for us."
his body brushes up against you for a second as he grabs the bowl easily. "is this what you want?"
"yes, sorry..." you could erupt into a nosebleed any second now.
"you're welcome."
with a smirk, he walks back into his room with his plateful of sandwiches.
you seemingly float back to the living room with the bowl of snacks in your hands
"i ran into your brother in the kitchen... he was shirtless...." you say with hearts still in your eyes
"what?? and you came back out alive? he hates it when someone comes into the kitchen while hes using it..."
youre giggling and falling into deeper delusions (or is it really?)
one day, you show up at yuujis house bc you and him became partners for a project at uni, but the person who answers the door is not yuuji
"h-hi... is yuuji home?" you ask.
"he's not home right now, sweetie. but you're free to come in if you want."
s-sweetie... you repeat inside your head.
sukuna basically sees your tail wagging behind you. you're so easy, arent you?
you sit on the sofa in the living room, and to your panic, sukuna makes himself comfortable next to you as well, making you tense up
"relax... i won't bite," he tells you with a languid smirk. "or, do you want me to?"
(yes. yes, i want you to.)
the conversation goes back and forth a little bit, and he gets flirtatious but before it escalates, yuuji returns home.
from then on, he gets more and more bold whenever you come over, giving little teasing touches whenever he gets the chance, driving you madd
numbers are exchanged eventually - without your friends knowing.
and then; you receive a text while youre sitting with them one evening, saying "if you're wanting a little more, you can come upstairs to my room."
...you tell your friends youre going to the toilet, and make your way up. giving a soft knock at his door, he opens up and looks down at you with sultry eyes.
(whatever happens in that room? a secret.)
now every time you're over at yuuji's place, sukuna texts you to come pay him a visit. things either end up with you sucking his dick, or just a quickie. (its all very steamy but youre always leave wanting more) ... its so hot to think abt going back to sit with your friends again after he's stuffed you with his load, and pulled your panties back up for you
"you look a bit sweaty, y/n. you okay?"
you tell them it was a tough no. 2 (i mean, what else can you tell them??)
sukuna as well, feels a little... lonely.... whenever you have to make your way back as soon as things are finished
during one afternoon, he overhears you guys talking about your newly found crush-- an older senior upperclassman from uni (getou suguru)
"did you guys see the way he smiled at me? he's so dreamy..."
"do you ever get tired of changing love interests?"
and this upset sukuna more than he expected.
he demands you come up soon after, and intense sex ensues, where he's rougher than usual, possessiveness showing
at one point during it, he asks why you're looking at other men, when you have him... and you tearfully tell him its because you want more than just this, you want to go on dates and be asked out like other girls...
"you could've just asked me. you thought i wouldn't commit?"
sure, you started out as a fun little toy for him, but now he's well aware there's something more going on here...
things get softer and youre left heaving, arms wrapped around sukuna as he looms over your body
"we took too long... they're gonna find out," you tell him.
"let them. why do we need to be a secret, anyway?"
"we don't? i thought that's what you wanted."
"what? when did i-"
(yuuji opens the door)
oh. my. god.
panic and screaming occurs, and the door is slammed shut, leaving you awfully embarrassed, and sukuna just sighing and putting a shirt back on.
"c'mon, sweetheart. we have some explaining to do."
theres a lot of chaos, yuujis face is STILL red and nobara + megumi are horrified, but all ends well bc at least now, you can date sukuna openly, and have your first relationship in peace.

could u please do a quick lil fluffy one about heavily pregnant y/n and harry at an event like maybe an award after party or something? and her just not feeling great so he takes her home and they have a cute little cozy night in and just him taking care of her
Yes I can, sweet dove!

-----
"Y'alright?" His voice was quiet, but loud enough for her to hear over the loud chatter and music. His eyes were vigilant on her the entire night and he could visibly see her start to wilt a little bit in the last few minutes.
When she had agreed to go to the show with him, she hadn't anticipated how tiring it would be. How many people she would speak to, how many people would want to touch her belly. The congratulations had been so, so lovely- but if one more person touched her, Y/N would probably cry.
But this was Harry's event, his work, and she wasn't about to risk anything by complaining. She used to attend everything- the rehearsals and late night shows and signings, but with the arrival of their first baby looming over them and the trials and tribulations of a first time pregnancy, Y/N had been down for the count for a bit.
She did well, all things considered. She had stayed active and ate as well as she could -though the powder sugar mini donuts, sprite and salty French fries sprinkled with sugar had been her weaknesses- and ultimately had a smooth pregnancy. However, nearing the end now, her hormones were shot, her body ached, and her feet were swollen.
Sucking it up all night, she had kept a nice face and leaned into Harry's embrace. His hand had rested protectively over her bump, the swollen stomach his pride and joy as well as his most worried about asset, and he had been a doting father to be all night- but she didn't want to ruin anything for him.
It was nearing 1 in the morning, though, and she was shot. Preparations had begun at noon, making it more than 12 hours of hustle and bustle. Y/N craved mint chip ice cream, crisps, and the couch.
"Feet are swelling." Her response was mumbled into his shirt, but she knew he would understand. "Feels like m'standing on needles."
"Darling." His concerned tone matched the cute little furrow of his brow, making her smile. "Should have said something earlier."
"Didn't want to interrupt. This is work, and I got to eat my sweets earlier." That had been part of the incentive, as well as the goody bag. It was wild what people would send celebrities that could easily afford all the products, but Y/N was a woman who took what she could get!
"You're more important than the lot of them. Our son is napping well inside your stomach." He shook his head. "Cmon. We can go home, let me just say goodbye."
"Kay. Can we get my foot spa out when we get home?" She asked as she followed him to grab their coats. He had gotten her one that heated the water and acted like a mini jacuzzi for her aching feet and it had been one of her favorite things ever.
"Course. I'll get the nice smelling lotion and rub them after, hm? Need you comfortable too. Did you want to stop and get some chips?" His thoughtfulness made her tear up, sniffling before she cursed the hormones. This was common and irritating but she couldn't help it.
"Y-You read my mind. Milkshake too?" She peeped, wide, teary eyes looking up at him with hope. No good fast food run was complete without it.
"As if I could say no to you, my darling." A kiss was pressed against the side of her head as he called for the valet. "Your wish is my command."

‘i walked through the door with you
the air was cold
but something about it felt like home somehow
and i, left my scarf there at your sister's house
and you've still got it in your drawer even now'
the autumn cold bit at my cheeks as i stepped out of the car. i looked at the mansion before me, the x-mansion. i walked towards the tall doors where logan was standing. he took my bags as i walked through the doors. the old wood creaked slightly under our weight.
almost immediately i felt the warmth of the school. i took off my scarf with my gloves and jacket, it smelt like hot chocolate in here. reminding me of the times i used to spend christmas with my parents waiting on my chocolate milk my mom used to make.
professor x welcomed me with a charming smile. his school was spacious yet cozy, every nook and wall filled with complementing wooden furniture. i placed my bags by the stairs as charles led us into the living area. the room smelled even more of cinnamon and chocolate.
time flew by in that living room, sounds of loud laughter and chatting filled the whole massion. it was times like these i appreciated the most. students came wandering inside and outside, either sitting with us for a while or getting some snacks for their small gathering. charles told me that it wasn't always he let teens walk freely after curfew, but when it's the day before Christmas, who is he to say no to them?
i leaned my head against logan's shoulder, my stomach feeling content and full after consuming one too many cookies and chocolates. he placed a hand on my leg and asked if i wanted to go upstairs to rest, and i nodded in reply. so, we excused ourselves. teens were scattered around the hallways as the both of us walked towards my bags.
we reached the top of the staircase, and logan led me into his room. once we reached his room, we sat on his bed, and i opened my bag. i fished out my pajamas and turned around to change. after completely changing, logan appeared behind me, wrapping his arms around me and placing soft, gentle kisses on my shoulder.
Tumblr media
'oh, your sweet disposition
and my wide-eyed gaze
we're singing in the car, getting lost upstate
autumn leaves falling down like pieces into place
and i can picture it after all these days'
the trees blurred by as logan sped down the twisting country roads, the wold a swirl of amber, gold, and russet tones. my window was down, letting the crisp autumn air rush in, my hair was in braids so that no small strands would fly in my face. logan was driving with one hand on the wheel, the other tapping along to the rhythm of the music. i wasn't even sure if he knew where we were headed; we'd veered off course miles back, but neither of us seemed to mind.
"do you even know where we are?" i asked with a grin, my voice raised over the music.
he glanced over at me, his eyes had a sparkle i hadn't seen in so long, but had become so used to. "not a clue, but does it really matter?" he replied with a light hearted laugh.
i shook my head, it didn't. nothing mattered in that moment except the rush of the open road and the way we were singing along to the songs. his hoarse but sweet, wild but calm voice carried the melody effortlessly, even when my voice faltered.
leaves were spiralling down in slow, soothing cascades, covering the road in a blanket of color.
we didn't talk much during that drive, just let the music carry us further, winding through the countryside as if we could do this forever and never run out of road or gas. i could still picture that moment now, after all this time - the way he hummed along, the way the leaves fell like pieces of a story we didn't fully understand yet. but thinking back, it didn't matter, it used to feel right.
Tumblr media
'and i know it's long gone and that magic's not here no more
and i might be okay but I'm not fine at all'
it had been months since i had last seen him. people assure me that time heals, that i'll be okay eventually, and maybe i will be. every day is the same; i get up, go to work, laugh when expected, smile when someone asks about my well-being. but it's the quiet moments of silence that the reality intrudes, like a wave crashing down upon me.
the happy feeling that once filled this place - has vanished, vanished for a while now. yet, there are moments, brief fragments of days, when i can still feel it - like a phantom limb. i find myself searching for you in a crowded place, then the realization dawns on me - he's not here anymore. and there's a big chance he won't be coming back to me.
Tumblr media
'cause there we are again on that little town street
you almost ran the red 'cause you were lookin' over at me
wind in my hair, i was there
i remember it all too well'
it was a late afternoon, and the sun hung low in the sky, casting everything in a tender, golden light. the small town we'd stumbled upon felt like a picture-perfect scene from a postcard - quiet streets lined with old brick buildings, trees bending overhead, their leaves tinged with the fading colors of autumn. we had been driving for hours, with no real destination in mind, again.
he was driving with one hand resting casually on the wheel. his gaze would flick between the road and me. every time his eyes met mine, a small smile tugged at the corner of his lips, and i couldn't help but smile back, even though i tried act like i didn't notice. the windows were down, allowing the wind to dance through his hair.
the car slowed as we came up to a small intersection, the kind that didn't seem to need stoplights because the whole town was quiet - almost no cars to be seen. a red light was hanging above the street. it was as if his foot hesitated on the brake as his gaze lingered on me for just a second too long. i stretched out my arm towards his face, and redirected his gaze. the way he looked at me, almost took my breath away. the way he looked at me like there was no one else in the world, made me wonder what went wrong.
"you almost ran it, logan," i scolded him, half-laughing, as the car jolted to a stop just in time.
he chuckled lightheartedly in response, his voice carrying a sound that i cherished so much. "my bad, bub." his eyes twinkled in the red light.
i rolled my eyes, my heartbeat quickened, and i couldn't help the warmth that spread through me. the traffic signal changed to green, and he drove through the intersection. the town went by in slow motion, passing an old diner, a corner bookstore, and a nearby park where a few kids were running through the puddles and leaves, their laughter echoing slightly down the streets.

'photo album on the counter
your cheeks were turning red
you used to be a little kid with glasses in a twin-sized bed
and your mother's telling stories 'bout you on the tee-ball team
you told me 'bout your past thinking your future was me'
a photo album was lying between us, logan was seated next to me in my classroom. i was trying to ignore how my past was so different from his, i had a better childhood than most of people here. logan's memories were scattered, and most of them too painful to keep.
logan let out a breath, "i don't have much to show from my past." his voice was low, there was a certain tension in the room, but not a negative one. "i don't have any pictures, or any family stories."
unconsciously, i started leaning in, he never liked to talk about his past. he kept it buried most of the time, but it felt different this time. his gaze flicked to the photo album for a moment, then back to me.
"i wasn't born as logan," he started, his jaw was clenching as he closed his mouth. "my real name was james, back in the 1800s," he explained. i tried not to gasp, my boyfriend was almost 200 years old. "i grew up in canada, in a rich family. my father wasn't really my father, though," his voice dropped a bit. "i was just a kid when it happened. my actual father showed up, and it got violent, i killed him," he looked at me. "i didn't mean to, but after all that happened, i didn't know what to do. i was so lost."
"i've fought wars, and then i ended up in an experiment from the government. they took away what little i had left, wiped my memories, turned me into a weapon. i was barely human." he clenched his fists, knuckles whitening. "i spent years to figure it out, but never got anywhere close."
logan looked up, his eyes meeting with mine. "i didn't think i had a future, not until you. i don't know if i can ever escape what i was,' logan whispered hoarsely. "but when i think of the future, it's not as dark as it used to be, not when you're in it."
i swallowed hard, the weight of what he was saying pressed down on me. he wasn't talking about the past anymore - he was offering a piece of himself, a fragile piece.
Tumblr media
'and i know it's long gone and there was nothing else I could do
and i forget about you long enough to forget why I needed to'
the mansion was buzzing with students talking and wandering around. i stood outside jean's classroom, watching through the gap of the door as he spoke with her. jean. the way he softened his voice when he talked to her, the way he stood just a little bit closer, like he was pulled towards her without even realizing it.
he used to look at me like that.
but it felt as if he was miles away, even though i was only a few steps from him. by now i should've gotten used to it, the way he kept slipping through my fingers, always just out of reach. but everytime it hit harder, that feeling of being so close and yet so far.
i knew that when i was with him, it was something real. we had something real. the late night talkes, our laughter echoing the hallways of the mansion. the way he used to look at me, with that glimmer in his eyes that made me believe we were something bigger. but then he got to know everyone better, and so she came along. jean, with her fiery red hair and pretty face, and suddenly, i wasn't enough for him.
Tumblr media
'cause there we are again in the middle of the night
we're dancing 'round the kitchen in the refrigerator light
down the stairs, i was there
i remember it all too well, yeah'
it was quite late - well past midnight - the mansion was quiet. the only light came from the soft, yellow glow of the refrigerator door we'd left open, casting shadows that extended across the kitchen floor and island. i couldn't remember what had brought us down there in the first place. perhaps it was his restless energy, or maybe it was mine. we found ourselves standing in the refrigerator light, laughing over some long-forgotten jest, our bare feet resting against the cool tiles.
he was leaning against the counter, arm crossed, a crooked smile on his face, gracing his features. it was a rare thing, that smile - so much gentler than the stern and hardened expression he typically wore in public.
out of the blue, he grabbed my hand and pulled me towards him, catching me off guard. i smiled softly, stumbling slightly into his chest as he started to spin me around. "what are you doing?" i asked, words bubbling out with a grin i couldn't keep off my face.
"dancin'," he smirked, his voice low and gravelly, like it was the most natural thing in the world.
we swayed in the soft light, the gentle hum of the refrigerator the only sound in the room. our feet were moving in perfect sync with each other, our footsteps barely audible against the smooth surface of the kitchen floor. the world outside didn't matter in moments like these, it was just us, lost in something that felt so small yet so infinite at the same time.
Tumblr media
'and maybe we got lost in translation
maybe i asked for too much
But maybe this thing was a masterpiece 'til you tore it all up
Running scared, I was there
I remember it all too well'
the moonlight streamed through the large windows in the hallway, casting long, eerie shadows that danced menacingly across the floor. the tension between logan and i had been building up for weeks, months even.
after what felt like an eternity, he finally walked in. his face was hard, guarded, a familiar look he always wore when he didn't want to deal with something. i could feel anger rising in my chest, yet underneath it all, there was another feeling, raw and painful.
"what's going on between you and jean?" my voice sharper than i meant it to be. he stopped in his tracks, eyebrows knitting together. "what're you talkin' about?" he said, his tone flat, evasive.
i sighed and pinched my nose, "you know what i'm talking about logan." he shook his head, denying everything i was saying.
"i see the way you look at her. like she's the only person in the room, the world even."
his fists clenched at his side, but he stayed silent. that only made it worse, made the hurt cut deeper. i could feel the tears threatening to fall down any minute, but i swallowed them down, refusing to show how much it hurt.
"maybe it was stupid to think we could ever be something more, that we might've had a chance. but, logan, whatever we had - it was real, good," my voice wavered. "you ruined it."
logan's eyes flicked to the floor, his jaw tight. "i didn't mean for it to happen like this, it's just you and me, remember?" he muttered, his voice was low, as if he was struggling to find the right words. "jean...she.. it's complicated, i didn't-"
"didn't what?" i interrupted, stepping closer towards him. "didn't mean to get lost in her? didn't mean to make me feel like i was never enough? ignoring me, the moment she stepped in the room?" i scoffed.
"i was there for you. i was there when you told me everything, when you let me in, and now you're throwing it all away for someone who doesn't even see you the way i do. she's with scott, logan!"
his eyes finally met mine, and for a split second, i though i saw something - a hint of regret, of the man i knew. but then his walls came back up, and he stepped away, creating a distance once again.
"i didn't tear it apart!" he growled, frustration simmering beneath his words. "it's not that simple."
"but it is," i whispered, my voice barely audible now. "it is simple, logan. you just don't want to see it."
once again, we stood there, inches apart but worlds away from each other. silence becoming suffocating, with all the thing that were said and unsaid, all the pieces of us that had shattered somewhere along the way. i wanted to reach out, but i couldn't, he was already gone.
Tumblr media
'and you call me up again just to break me like a promise
so casually cruel in the name of being honest
i'm a crumpled up piece of paper lying here
'cause i remember it all, all, all
too well'
it was cold and raining when i heard the phone ring - of course it was. the kind of rain that soaked through your clothes and settled deep into your skin. i sat on the edge of my couch, staring at the phone that hung on my wall, ringing. my stomach twisted in a familiar, painful knot. i knew that answering the phone would only hurt me even more, but i became so addicted to his voice, i couldn't stay away.
"logan," i said, keeping my voice firm and steady.
there was a pause on logan's end, i could hear his breath, heavy and uneven. my heart pounded in my chest, a small flicker of hope sparking against my better judgement.
“I wanted to talk,” logan said, his voice rough, strained. “About everything.” i let out a breath i was holding, letting his words sink in and physically melt from the sound of his voice.
my spine straightened, and that flicker of hope i'd been foolish enough to feel quickly died. a rustling sound came through from the other end. scott's voice came through the line, clear and hard.
"you need to stay away from jean," scott said without preamble, his tony cold. i shook my head, i did not need to hear this. this just made me question the fact that logan was still spending time with jean even more.
"she's not yours to run to whenever you feel like messing with someone's head, you've done enough damage."
i sighed, gripping the telephone tighter. i could hear logan protesting, but scott barely gave him a chance to talk. "and while you're at it, stay away from her too." scott's words hit like a slap to logan's face. "wh-"
"you know exactly who i'm talking about. you keep calling her, stringing her along whenever you can't figure out what you want, and i'm done watching from the sidelines. you don't get to hurt her anymore. so if you know what's good for you, you'll leave her alone," scott's voice was scarily calm.
i swallowed hard, i felt like i shouldn't be listening to this. scott's voice dropped lower, "and if you ever cared about her - about either of them - you won't call her again. don't show up. don't send a message. just let her be, logan." there was a long pause, and for a moment, i thought he'd hung up. "because if you keep calling her just to break her all over again, i'll make sure you never get the chance to do it again." i was surprised scott would talk for me like that. i never was really close with him.
"give me the phone, logan," and the line went dead.
i stood there, phone in my hand, i wanted to scream, cry, throw something, maybe even throw up. but i didn't, i just hung up the phone again and walked away.
Tumblr media
'time won't fly, it's like i'm paralyzed by it,
i'd like to be my old self again.
but I'm still trying to find it.
after plaid shirt days and nights when you made me your own.
now you mail back my things and i walk home alone,
but you keep my old scarf from that very first week.
'cause it reminds you of innocence,
and it smells like me.
you can't get rid of it,
'cause you remember it all too well, yeah'
it was a week that seemed to stretch on forever, time moving as slow as it could. i stood in my small home, staring at the box storm brought me that came from logan. it sat on the kitchen table. i already knew the contents of the box, my things, probably stuff i gave logan as well that he wouldn't want to keep anymore.
i opened the box, a couple of shirts, an old book i'd left in his room, little reminders of the nights we'd spend together. at the bottom of the box i found the scarf i'd wore when i first came to the mansion.
i held it up close, the soft fabric taking me back to that one autumn two years ago. back when it felt like we had all the time in the world.
but time made it so hard to forget. i'd tried so hard to go back to the person i used to be, before i met him - to the person who didn't get so wrapped up in boys.
Tumblr media
'cause there we are again when i loved you so,
back before you lost the one real thing you've ever known.
it was rare, i was there, i remember it all too well.'
i remember it was a lazy summer afternoon when the air was thick with warmth and the world felt content. we were lying on the grass near the lake behind the mansion, the sun casted a golden light.
logan has his arms crossed behind his head, staring up at the sky, while i laid next to him, tracing invisible shapes in the clouds with my mind. i turned my head towards him.
"so, what do you want to do this summer?" i said with a small smile, my fingers playing with the blanket we put down on the grass. "what would you do if we could just... take off for a bit?"
logan tilted his head towards me, "summer?" he chuckled softly. "i don't really think that far ahead."
i nudged him with my elbow, "come on, logan. dream a little, where would you go?"
he sighed, glancing at the sky. "somewhere quiet," he said after a moment. "someplace where there's nothing but trees and mountains. no noise, no people."
i nodded in agreement. "i could get behind that idea, we could find a cabin somewhere, spend our days walking around or sitting by a fire at night."
"yeah," he mumbled. "maybe get off the grid for a while, forget about everything. i watched him, feeling the what the words settled between us like a promise.
“mhm,” you agreed, a hint of a smile tugging at the corners of your lips. “maybe get off the grid for a while. forget about everything.”
"i've never done that before," he said. "let myself think about things like that."
i looked over at him, "what do you mean?"
"something good," he replied, his gaze still fixed on the sky. "something that doesn't end in loss or running."
"you don't have to run anymore, logan," i said softly. "we could make those plans real. it would be just you and me."
he didn't respond right away, but i could see how his jaw clenched slightly. "it's just you and me," logan nodded.
i laid back down, my head resting against the grass. i closed my eyes, the warmth of the setting sun on my face.
