I don't know if you're still working on the new long star au. But since we've learned about the kittypet dark forest, what would a kittypet heaven look like?

I HAVE talked about this previously BUT let's make it its own post with some additions.

THE KITTYPET AFTERLIFE

Often referred to as the Twoleg Starplace, kittypets go to the same afterlife as their owners. There’s always food out, the toys are endless, and just about every twoleg wants to pet you. If their twoleg was abusive, kittypets will find a new loving twoleg to pet them and help them heal.

But it's so much more than that, as Dastardly Dan and his victorious rebels. So much more...

The second Dastardly Dan passes through to freedom, the filth of the dark places evaporates off of him like morning dew. The rebels are in a twoleg den, a nearby door letting the most delicious smells wafting through. He lets out a startled cry as his feet meet soft indoor carpet, not the sticky floors and splintered planks he's walked for ages. He hears a twoleg call out in joy, and a pair of black cats burst from the group and leap into the arms of a twoleg kit, yowling in joy. The rest of the former Dark Place dwellers scatter to the wind - one molly crying out to her long lost kits and wailing in relief when they respond, a tom bowled over by his mate, another cat finding the food bowl full of freshly laid out cat food - and Dan just freezes. He was an awful cat, and his guilt weighs him down like a stone in his belly.

Steps far too heavy to be a cat make him whip around - it's an elderly twoleg, Sweet Pea and Nanigans weaving around her legs. The twolegs crouches down and extends a hand. It's okay, says Sweet Pea, this is my twoleg! Dan slowly accepts the hand, and before he quite realizes what happened, he's tucked into a soft bed, with fresh fish on a plate and his thirst quenched. I could get used to this he thinks, and eats.

ive noticed that people who write the pale king with the mindset that hes a bad dude tend to write with any sort of emotion nuance sanded away and people who think that he is a redeemable or even justified manage to write him as a somehow worse person than the people who think hes bad but without an ounce of awareness

Time to be critical of MWIII again. But with a good note.

So, first I need to say that this is the point that reedeem the game a little for me personally, but also make me sad. I'm a huge fan of OST, my libary is probably 90% OST and 10% regular music. A game will often get me hooked if the music is captivating.

MWIII did lack that effect. In most missions, I felt, you barely hear any music to go along with what is happening. Or if I did, then I was so trying to figure out what to do in the OWM I could really appreciate it, cinematics didn't had the same impact (the cinematic in MWII, when Price does his speech and Ghost remove his mask? Every time I listen to the soundtrack I can soooo see it clearly in my mind! That's the impact!)

I had to go on Spotify to listen to all of them and be able appreciate the work. The OST is pretty good even if it's not the same composer than the previous two games. He did a good job, I do give 9/10. But doesn't it sucks that I wasn't able to enjoy it during the game. Flashpoint is maybe the only one where I went "oh yes, in the game, that's when you are crossing the stadium with all the civilians!" Otherwise, all the hardwork got sort of lost. Maybe I should try a third go at the campaign to see if I can catch the music in certain time, beside in the cinematic.

TLDR: MWIII's soundtrack is pretty good, but the game didn't give it justice because everything was rushed and the immersion was weak!

How are you all doing so far and how do you feel about spring time?

Also, I might end up sounding alot like Charile and Emily when I say this, but um.. to everyone on here from Hell that's a sinner, and a Overlord on this blog, I want to try and give you some hopefully helpful and kindhearted advice if you don't mind?

I do think you might have the chance to change, at least deep down inside, if that makes any sense to any of you, to like you know, be a better person so you can get to heaven like what Charile is trying to do, maybe if you ever think about it sometimes?

I know Angeldust is doing his best, hell even Husk, at least to me seems like he's trying to even if he doesn't care nor want to try but, I know he still cares about Angel and all his friends at the Hotel, ya know?

I hope that makes sense.. I'm sorry if it doesn't make sense or if some of you don't like it or want it, I get it. I know it might sound stupid or a lost cause to some of you. It honestly up to you all that Charlie wants to see reedeemed and get into heaven.

A character you particularly like in the game you're currently playing

Sigh... Astarion. I mean, I'm not proud about it, lol. I went into Baldur's Gate 3 going like, there's no way he's actually all he's cracked up to be in the fandom for this game, but goddamnit, I jumped right into the pool. Characters who are closed off and challenged on intimacy and who need to learn to trust and open up are like fucking catnip to me. And the Spawn!Astarion and Reedeemed!Dark Urge relationship is such a good fucking romance.

He's very closely matched by Lae'zel though. I love her so much, her dry sense of humor is lowkey so fucking funny, and I do love a vicious asshole, who is actually secretly a big softie under it all. Her calling her partner the source of my bruises with big soft eyes is so dramatic, like, girl, you're actually so adorable. I need to get her and Shadowheart together, they're made for each other.

A game you would like to replay

Kind of cheating, because I never actually finished it. But I played like half of the first Bioshock game when I was rooming with someone who had a console, but then moved out again before I could finish it. So I'd love to try my hand at it again at some point.

A boss that you think is really cool

The Scratch Fight on the edge of Cauldron Lake! Narratively satisfying, and I was absolutely fighting for my life, and then with the killer soundtrack from the Old Gods of Asgaard!

Ketheric Thorm in the bowels of Moonrise towers is also great, mostly due to his transformation into the Avatar of Myrkul. I was playing that very late in the evening and was planning to go to bed, and then that fucking cutscene started and I was like, well, fuck, guess there goes my bedtime, because I can't stop now.

HER. The icon, the legend, the witch of the needle. Adra, trans-woman, city elf, much bitch, such stylist. She calls people by titles she invents on the spot based off their personality (which is a thing that cannot be transferred into the english language since titles aren't a thing ;; sigh), she's one that states what's wrong with you right in your face, and she's constantly in pain because of her job - one day is her back, the other it's the eyes, but somehow humidity is always involved. She calls herself old but she's not that old, like, she's in her 60s << anyway, she takes advantage of it a lot for her own entertainment. Coming from the Denerim alienage for then moving to Highever, she has had all the experiences one can think of so she appears a bit skeptical when it comes to big scale projects born from righteous ideals. However she seems to believe in the Inquisition. Well, she trusts its leader and her work, but she's a fereldan through and through so she's leaning more on a "I'm gonna judge the overalls when I see the results" attitude. So far, she's satisfied, but she'll never express it. Queen Anora #1 fangirl.

Oldest OC:

Rhian, daughter of Beathan ...who at the beginning was a Lord of the Rings OC but then she turned into something I'm using for a personal project with a medieval fantasy setting, so now she's running free and untied from a beloved franchise :'D weee There is some bisexual awakening going on but it's actually a story about found family, gender roles, and honesty. I'll get back to it at some point. Hopefully. She's the Mulan of my roster, pretending to be a man to join the local army and having to deal with a big menace while questioning her faith on authority. She's very brave, caustically sarcastic, an average soldier, and has loud opinions that always put her in trouble. Also she's a capricorn, she can open jars and she will let you know until she dies.

Meanest OC:

Lenore fucking Shepard WHO WOULD HAVE GUESSED LMAO She's manipulative, controlling, outright nasty towards pyjaks, and would 100% push you towards the zombie horde as bait if that means she gets to save herself plus her squad. She does have a few reedeeming qualities but it's not even slightly enough to grant her a "maybe she's good on the inside" consolation prize. To be fair, she's the most emotional character of the bunch, super sensitive towards children and people that can't fight for themselves. The ones she likes, yeah, but still! Hands down my favorite store on the Citadel <3

Softest OC:

Absolutely him. Mr. Rivelli. Wiccan, chemistry genius, chainsmoker, incapable of interfacing himself emotionally with those surrounding him. He's quite the introvert, but he daydreams like a pro and he's very passionated about his interests. He can't look at people in the eye, but he's the most loving and communicative plant dad one could think of <3 He's a soft boy, he just has a lonely nature. He's part of a project called "The Wedding Planner", it's a boy meets boy story, both of the main characters are in their thirties and there's a "what am I doing with my life" type of approach to the plot. It's a 30 years old / mid life crisis type of story, basically, with a wedding. The wedding is important. Very. It makes it cheesy. We worship cheese in this household.

Most Aloof/Standoffish OC:

Absolutely him, and it's a coping mechanism. Castor "Cass" Actius never shows emotions because he bottles all them up. And it's a long bottle - he's very tall. I was torn between soft and aloof in this case, but he's definitely one that acts like he's the calmest but in truth he's screaming internally all the time. Probably one of the characters I can relate to the most lol He's all legs and sugars, has a thing for tea, he's the fourth of four siblings and probably the most well adjusted out of them - which says a lot about the state of his family considering he's clinically depressed and an addict << He's a great leader, calm and detached, also he doesn't seem very approachable at first. At second as well, and at third, and at... But he's a cool person with big mom energy. If you're under his command, prepare to be scolded frequently, but also to be defended strenuosly in front of his superiors because you're perfect and you did nothing wrong, never in your life!! Best baker of the bunch, sorry Hawke.

Dumbest (affec-- lmao they wish!!) OC:

These three. They all trusted the apostate. On a scale from Stupid to "I trampled on my feet and now the kitchen is on fire" however, Ela is definitely the one sitting on the ambulance with a blankie on her shoulders. Here, have a banner all for yourself, dumbelina <3

Although I'm talking about that kind of stupidity that makes you look like a fool during situations that require a little bit of foresight or planning. She basically winged some of the most important decisions during the Blight, the others were taken because of her strong sense of honor and justice, but like You can't apply that all the time and then go surprised pikachu face when people call you out for being impulsive.

Smartest OC:

Him. Hands down. Serge "Twinkles" R'lyeh. He's MacGyver with the sensitivity of Tori Amos, also he's your therapist and your sugar daddy at the same time. He's an aerospace engineer turned infiltrator turned spy turned college teacher turned practical fx specialist turned distinguished officer during the war turned loving husband and best uncle... Like, there's so much to him! He lived a tons of lifetimes at once because he's talented brilliant incredible amazing showsto-- Probably the second favorite, because he seems like he's perfect but he has a problem taking responsibilities. He's also very childish, egocentric, he second guesses you as if it was a competitive sport when it comes to things he can do better, and his mouth is the envy of every sailor from here to the Attican Traverse - because he swears a lot but also for the other reason *cough* I kinda loved having to deal with someone that was on top of many skills, it made so much room for planning a big downfall <3 oh, and he fell. Hard. I'm gonna stop but know that I would keep writing about him for other 30-40 paragraphs, gushing and blabbering incoherently because he's my special self absorbed space kitty, trust me on that. I'll just say that he built a working real life deluminator when he was a fluff. he smort

Also, they're the ones I'm the least afraid of. On a more serious note, they have a huge deal of compassion and care; he's an empath, she's an active listener. Also I vibe with creative people that show a huge passion for what they're doing, plus I wouldn't mind having to bury some animal bones from time to ti-- cook and bake. I like to roam around the kitchen with my friends and talk about whatever. We talk a lot in this household <<

Okay so, Kaede in this universe is the protagonist so obviously she had to live, but i think there is more to it than that. In this universe she is also the leader of the group, whenever things look dim there was Kaede to pick everyone up, even if she hesitated and was beaten to the dirt eventually she would rise again. Not only that but she is carrying the wills of Shuichi, Kaito and Maki with her, three people who she considered really close to her. And ultimately she is the person who always made sure everyone could get to live another day so i think she is a good and satisfying choice. She probably has a thing about shaping your own world instead of letting the horrible truths weigh you down or living in a lie.

Himiko's arc in canon is one of my favorite aspsects, so i think that she deserves to have it translated here. She went from someone who felt like she didn't have any reason to live to someone who feels like she HAS to live, for everyone whom she lost and everyone who she has left. She is also very interesting in that she is the character who is both conected to lies and truth, living in delusion but also simultaniously being one of the most down to earth in the group that tends to react to things in a more reasonable way than others (Except when it possibly involves magic) She is also comedic relief, which is much needed in later stages.

Kokichi was a hard choice because honestly the fandom has tainted his reputation, and also i love canon Chapter 5, but ultimately i have decided to bring him to the end to the line. Kokichi much like Kaede, was a leader in this version, but his leadership was innefective due to his unwilligness to trust in others which eventually led to the death of two of his closest allies and dare i say friends. However he soon found an unlikely companionship in two of the people he swore he hated the most and decided to put his pride to the side to work with them and let everyone out of the horrible situacion that they are all in. His story is one of finding out distrust and lies aren't the answer and ultimately atonement. He is a reedeemed antagonist joining forces with the heroes to defeat the main villain.

Thank you for the tag @reedeemable!! 💞 This was a lot of fun to do, I reeeeeally had to think on a couple of these things

Favourite girl: A tricky one as I like most of the girls in the game, but I'm going to have to go with Kara ❤️ I have a soft spot for her and her story in general (which you might not guess given my crippling Reed900 addiction. It's not that I don't love my girl, I just tend to write post-pacifist stories and aus-- meaning i am very much headcanoning that she is far away from Detroit living her best life in Canada)

Favourite boy: If we're going purely on canon? Connor. If we're going fanon? His PS5 upgrade any day of the week baabbeeyy (nines cyberlife i love you please one chance)

Least favourite character: Zlatko (although Todd also sucks)

Favourite ship: **SLAPS REED900 BUTTON AGGRESSIVELY** i just think they're neat (detroit evolution permanently altered by brain chemistry. ive never once looked back)

Least favourite ship: Hankcon—although absolutely zero disrespect to anyone who enjoys it!! I just prefer the familial or platonic angle :)

Favourite side character: Does Luther count? I am uncertain if he counts as he is such a key player in the Kara story. If yes, my boooooyyyyyy. My sweet underrated masterpiece

If not, then Ralph. I love this lunatic and his succulent culinary skills (he was the best guy ARRRROOOUND. WHAT MURDDAHHHH)

Favourite theme/soundtrack: This is an unbelievably tricky one for me as pretty much the entire soundtrack is gold. Buuuuuttttt im going to go with Hostage and the rooftop chase music tied for first. Connors story truly has some bangers

Honourable mentions for the Opening Title music and Kara and Alice's escape theme.

Favourite chapter: You know what? I'm going to say it. I think we peak early with The Hostage. It is an insanely great hook to draw you in, getting you super excited for the rest of the game. At least it did for me

Is it a tutorial chapter? Yes. But DAMN if it's not a GOOD one. It serves its purpose perfectly in introducing Connor and his story and i really, really admire that about it. chefs kiss 🤌

Honourable mentions for the The Nest and Crossroads

Least favourite chapter: I passionately hate Jericho. I'm sorry to any fans of that chapter but I just can't do it. The replayability is awful for me. It's a tedious slog finding that graffiti every single playthrough

Favourite platonic relationship: Again, with these the fandom brainrot is real. If we're going purely based on the events we see in the game? Connor and Hank as a platonic/familial type bond. If we're going fanon, then Tina and Gavin have my whole heart.

I know we see them together in game—but i will never not adore the way the fandom expanded on their relationship. they are best friends for life. mlm and wlw solidarity

Favourite design: Zlatkos Creatures

Is it horrifying and is Zlatko an irredeemable bastard man for what he's done? yes. absolutely. but i simply can't look away. im a sucker for nightmarish/horror adjacent imaginary and *damn* is it done well with these guys. I want to give each of them a gentle kiss and tell them its going to be okay

Honourable mentions for Lucy and Ralph—they both also look incredibly cool (basically i have an intense appreciation for damaged androids huh)

Least favourite design: I don't really have one? If I had to pick though, I am not a big fan of the eden club outfits. love the body glitter detail (if some of them have that? it could have been a trick of the light or i simply imagined it) but there's something about the """uniforms""" that i don't find very appealing. a bit sports/swimwear adjacent?

then again i appreciate the chapter and its designs for not going AS explicit as they could have gone. given the 'oh yikes' elements that are already at play

Favourite scene: oh man don't make me pick. there's SO MANY incredible moments

that being said, i really like the bridge scene. its such an iconic visual with hank holding up the gun to connors head. there's a silhouette version of it on a poster that i have hanging in my hallway, so i think im legally obligated to pick it

Also just all of the deviation scenes. Breaking through that red wall is an insanely cool, striking visual every time

Least favourite scene: Todd hitting Alice is an extremely hard watch for me. I picked up that gun with the intention the kill (no questions asked) during my first playthrough. I was not about to let that shit slide

"how do you think this is going to end?"

on the occasion that barton isn't fighting for himself, one could almost guarantee that he'd put even more effort into defeating whatever threat he was facing. especially when he cared about the other person as much as he cared about his daughter. but what could he do, barton thought, when the person he was up against was both physically stronger and quicker than him? matilda had committed a crime; a heinous one, that much was for certain. but the only regret that barton had was that he let himself be grabbed the way he was by the batman at that moment.

he could hardly recall how it even happened, just the moment right before he felt like he was being launched into a grand mirror not too far away from himself. it seemed like batman had shown up out of complete nowhere as matilda was about to cut into her latest victim. or, perhaps what was supposed to be her newest 'doll-to-be.' the name that matilda had taken on for herself, which was dollhouse, unfortunately did have quite a literal meaning to it. she had made quote unquote 'art' out of people who she viewed as throwing away their lives so they could be a part of something bigger than themselves after all. and, of course, so their 'degenerency' could somehow be stripped out of them. but that was not at all how reedeeming oneself worked if they even really needed redemption.

no, this was just a twisted way for matilda to engage in similar behaviors to her father. the thing is, though, that barton had gone to extraordinary efforts to keep his daughter out of the eyes of the police and out of arkham most of all. so he was prepared to defend her with all of the viciousness that a lioness might protect her cubs with. barton had hit his head hard against the mirror, however, and this was not lost on neither him nor matilda as she rushed over to him. everything felt like it was going in slow-motion whilst his daughter helped him to his feet, saying something to him that he couldn't quite catch. ❛ how do you think this is going to end? ❜

it took barton more than a moment to compute the other's words as his ears were ringing like crazy. suddenly, the batman's image contorted into something else, and he found himself looking at an almost perfect copy of his biological father. except that couldn't be because he died decades ago. his brain seemed to be overriding that logic for the time being, however, as he stumbled towards a shovel he had in his workshop. barton could feel a steady, slightly heavy stream of blood trailing down his neck, but he was determined to get rid of him for once and for all this time.

❝ it'll end with me doing whatever... whatever i need to do to defend my family. i'm sick and tired of you showing up, thinking you can interfere in my life — so why don't you just take a hint already and die for good?! ❞ yeah, he most definitely wasn't talking to batman whenever he was saying this. barton was talking to wesley, which confused matilda as she realized that this too sounded a little weird. she actually exchanged a brief glance with batman through her mask before wrapping her arms around her father from behind. matilda suspected that that fall he'd suffered might've gotten him a little mixed up, because it almost didn't sound like he was talking to batman, after all.

it was only when barton dropped the shovel in his hands, despite trying to fight against matilda's hold, that it seemed confirmed to her that there was a strong possibility something was off with barton. he went limp within his daughter's arms then as his knees buckled, but she kept him up. a few tears ran down barton's face whilst he closed his eyes to wesley (batman) and matilda took off her mask, her face contorted with concern underneath it. barton whispered something beneath a sob that matilda barely caught as he held onto her wrists for dear life. ❝ all i wanted was for you to treat me like a human being... like i was your son. why couldn't you do just that one, simple thing, for me? ❞

bowie, while an imperfect person who did do bad things and wasn't a saint, continuously spent time in queer/trans spaces, stood up for the freedom of gender and sexuality experimentation and expression, and was bisexual himself. he dated queer/trans people, hung out with drag queens and in gay bars, and repeatedly put themes of gender expression and sexuality at the forefront of his art his entire 50 year long career. he never treated us differently, because he was one of us.
