🗣️Felix Kroos: "You played many times against Barcelona, and you messaged me just yesterday, that for you, one of the most decisive factors is Pedri, right?" 🗣️ Toni Kroos: "I was just about to mention it. Yesterday Barça had more misplaced passes, the ball possession percentage was almost equal - normally it probably should've been 30-70 for Barça. Especially in games like these, with high pressure, you need players who are crucial on the ball, players who find solutions for you. Which is why the lineup surprised me. Obviously, the reason was probably to rest him, but for a game like this, where you can expect Dortmund to press a lot, to attack high, you need those players who will give you solutions, so it surprised me a lot that Pedri didn't start. Probably had other reasons, he has played so much recently, but he is such a decisive player, with him, this could've been a very different game. He was made for a game like this. Pedri, in general, is a player who you'll miss when he is not playing, no matter against whom, because of what he gives you, but especially yesterday. He not only scores goals, he doesn't only assist goals. He gives you solutions. I had a look at what Pedri is doing this season, and in the Champions League alone, he outplays 52 opponents per game, which makes him better than 91 percent of all other players in his position. He beats eleven defenders per game - which is the biggest difficulty for a midfielder - making him better than 97 percent of all other players in his position. In La Liga, it's even more extreme, he overplays 59 opponents per game, which makes him better than 97 percent of all La Liga players in his position – and twelve defenders per game, which is a huge amount. He's better than 100 percent there, which means he's the best. And if you're missing a player like that, you will notice it. And outplaying doesn't always mean with a pass, most of the time it does. But Pedri is one of very few midfielders in this position who has the gift of being able to outplay someone with a dribble in tight spaces. It's actually the ultimate skill; you can outplay an opponent with just one pass. Or with a short dribble. It solves situations where you are being pressed, like Dortmund were doing it yesterday. And then you can put players like Lamine, Lewandowski and Raphinha in the spotlight, but when you aren't able to overcome the high pressing [of Dortmund] then there is little those three can do, and we've seen exactly that yesterday, and that was what was missing for Barcelona. A player like Pedri helps you in all phases of the game: against high pressing, because he's able to resolve it, or against a deep block, because he's able to find solutions and space there too. In my eyes, someone like Pedri is almost more important than Lamine, Raphinha or Lewandowski. They are the ones who decide games later on, but to even get there, Pedri is currently the best there is in that position in my eyes. I experienced this in person, especially one time. We got trashed at home. Once or twice, I thought I could reach him, because Pedri doesn't appear very fast, but he dribbles around, and I couldn't even stop him with a foul. It's not like with Messi, where you can see how fast his movements are, Pedri doesn't look that fast, but he is, he really is. And it's fast because of how easily he does it, and I like players who can do that and look good and elegant while doing it. And he is doing that. He doesn't need a sprint to play the game he wants to play. It's not just about being fast but even more importantly about the timing. It’s about knowing when the opponent makes a step and when you will make the contact."

It's still Sunday somewhere, right?? Okay so I lied when I said I was only going to post one snippet of the Why Are Buck and Eddie So Dirty at Madney's Wedding Fic (this is not the title), but then I didn't get it completed on time so have another! Ngl not writing Buddie has been odd but I am absolutely loving writing Happy Buck and him being soft and squishy. So please enjoy a little bit of Bucktommy/Tuck/Tevan/Kinkley/whatever their name is rn on the way to Madney's wedding

“You - uh - you know my parents are going to be there, right?” Buck says, his voice slicing through the silence in the jeep.  Tommy chuckles, taking his eyes off the road for just a moment as he looks at Buck with a twinkle in his eye.  “Yes, Evan, I figured your parents were going to be at your sister's wedding.” “A-and you're okay with that? Meeting my parents, that is.” Buck twists his fingers together, something he does when he's nervous.  “Of course I am, I wouldn't have agreed to come otherwise.” Tommy glances over at Buck again, and his easy grin disappears as he takes in Buck's tight expression. He reaches over and takes Buck's hand, lacing their fingers together as he rubs his thumb over Buck's knuckles.  “Hey, you okay? What's going on?” Buck sighs and shifts in his seat as he brings his and Tommy's hands up to his mouth, brushing the gentlest of kisses against the back of Tommy's knuckles. Tommy's hand is warm against his lips, and he can very faintly smell the hand soap in his apartment, along with some of Tommy's cologne. It calms him, just the smallest amount.  “Yeah it's just -” Buck huffs, not sure where to even begin on the subject of his parents. Sure, they may have made nice after Buck's brush with death, but there is a big difference, in Buck's mind, between forgiving, and forgetting.  “My parents can be kind of… mean.” “Mean?” Tommy echoes, raising an eyebrow “Yeah, we have a sort of complicated relationship, a-and you know I haven’t told them about, you know, us yet. I’m a little nervous about how they’re going to react. My mother especially can say some pretty unkind things.”

They’re at a red light, so Tommy takes the opportunity to reach out and tap Buck’s chin, gently guiding Buck’s head in his direction. “Hey, look at me, baby. We’ve got this. It’s a wedding, not a war.” Buck laughs derisively, but allows Tommy to press a soft kiss to his cheek nonetheless.  “You have no idea.”

I’m sorry i swear it’s only been ten years. Cause it was ten years ago or so from season 1 that Garmdon got banished (since Lloyd is ten-ish). How did they age so much two of them are immortal, Misako is understandable she was under stress and still looks somewhat younger.

I prefer to headcannon that the twins were closer to twelve when the apple incident happened. I mean, it takes a while to build a proper settlement, especially when you have to plow fields and stuff so I don't think that the villagers would have had time to really interact much with the twins if they were only there 2-4 years AND working on building a farming settlement. That, and I guess I just like giving these guys a harsher backstory. Meh.

Additionally, I've been thinking about fics where Nightmare returns to his original form (either willingly dispelling the corruption temporarily or bippity boppity boo the corruption is gone, cue the goofs and hijinks). I don't think that Nightmare's original body would be able to stay together without the corruption. Now, sure, the bones are probably still there underneath it all and maybe they've been growing with him over time, but they would be so mangled that he could never live without the corruption again (the tentacles and rest of the corruption literally burst out from inside his bones). HOWEVER, I do believe that he could shift to his original form if he wanted to. Does this sound contradictory? Yes, but stay with me. Nightmare is a shapeshifter, and I haven't heard anything about his forms needing to be as black as his corruption, so he could absolutely use his corruption to shift into his original form.

This brings up an interesting question, though. Do you think he ever just stands in front of the mirror and stares at what he could have been? Like, he shifts into what he remembers his original body looked like and ages himself up. Then he just stares. He looks at the person he could have been. But... how true is that? Could he have avoided eating the apple, or would he have just died if he did? Nothing like a good nighttime spiral, am I right?
