The amount of actual antisemitism on this website is frightening.

It might not be obvious given Tumblr has a new algorithm that only shows you what you want to see, and yes there's maybe a whole discourse about the fighting of antisemitic views and blogs about criticizing antisemitic medias and remembering what genocidal antisemitic political group like the Nazis did. And when you look at this part of Tumblr you think "Alright, it's okay, it's cool."

Problem is that it is a really tiny fragment, and when you look at the other side of Tumblr, at the mass of things Tumblr doesn't show you, you'll find tons of antisemitic posts and tons of blogs praying for all Jews to die. Literaly I saw people here simply write "All Jews must die".

I shouldn't be surprised given the rise, return and multiplication of actual antisemitic political and social movements IRL in numerous countries... But it's still sad to see this website is just as corrupted as any others. I guess it is less visible because often antisemitic views tend to use political, religious or social arguments and subjects as "covers" (the current news is an especially good "shield") but always remember to check deeper and to carefully look at what people are writing - because you need to be able to read between the lines, to see if someone is actually involved in said topics or if they just use a superficial knowledge of it to promote a new genocide of the Jews as a whole.

i can't believe i just saw people mourning one of the members of the band of my life in front of my eyes. i look through my window and the world keeps going on, but you're not here anymore. and this is how it is, how it's going to be from now on.

i just can't believe you're gone, liam.

is with a heavy heart that i write this. is with a bittersweet feeling that i try to heal, because saying goodbye and accepting you're just not here anymore surrounded by people feeling the same while also knowing that you are immortalized forever (through music, and through us) feels both comforting and soul-crushing.

i spent more time of my life loving one direction than not loving them.

we put our hearts where we find happiness and i found happiness on one direction. one direction is the band that was with me through my worst moments. one direction gave me memories, smiles, friends (one of the most important things i have in my life), a love and the courage to start writing. one direction was always the beginning of everything.

one direction was the band of my life (as a child, a teen and now an adult) that shaped me as a person.

and i just keep fighting the fact that today, i have to say goodbye with my chest hurting in a way i had never thought it would.

but deep down, i know life goes on and i know goodbye is almost never true. i know, in this case, is see you soon. i know, this time, is i'm carrying you with me forever and i'll make sure to spread your name and legacy as much as i can, whatever generation comes next, no matter how much i have to talk about the happiness you brought me.

i love to believe in transcending. and i always loved to love you.

i know, as an adult, liam wasn't the perfect person. i know he wasn't the excellent example to follow we all thought he could be when we were 10. and that is fine, because, who's that? who's the perfect role model?

i know everything. i am conscious. but liam truly was my whole world ever since i saw him with those boys on those stairs. liam was one of the people that became the reason i survived more than once, so how am i not gonna cry when i lose someone i always hold more than close to my heart?

i can't lie and say i'm ready to accept everything, what happened, how it happened. i can't lie and say that i've come to terms with the fact that the days pass by and people start to talk about other things and it feels like everyone is further and further from what happened while i'm here with my chest empty. i can't lie and say i'm not kind of mad at the whole universe, as if it had played the most unbelievable and sick joke on all of us. i won't lie and say i don't hate that i'm doing this, that i'm sad and listening to your songs with a bad taste in my mouth. but today, i started to think a little more of that little girl that felt safe because of you. if you -and the boys- taught me and inspired me to be strong, am i really going to give up like this?

i intend to keep on honoring what you meant in my life.

rest in peace liam. wherever you are, i will pray for your soul to be at peace. if there's a way -i really, honestly, wish there is a way- i hope you know you were are loved. i hope you can see how much love the world is expressing for you. i hope i get to exist in the same lifetime as you a thousand times more. i look forward to exist together again.

So, as an aside- because this is the third post I've spotted about it.

Write the uncomfortable things. Write the questionable things. Write the things that are on brand for the voice you're writing in, or the character you're playing.

I'm not saying going and writing out things for sheer shock value, mind you- with the purpose of deliberately riling someone up. I'm saying that if you're writing a villain, and they're going to do villainous things that are immoral and evil?

Within reason? Write them.

Is your hero an anti-hero with skewed morals?

Write them.

You can write them, and still absolutely abhor them. You can write them, and absolutely do not believe that ANY of what you're writing is the right thing to do. You can write them, and still keep your personal morals. Humans are not absolute creatures, and we are not solely in the realms of blacks and whites when it comes to presentation of mores and morals.

So. Write them, but tag them. Be responsible with your words. Tag them so that those that are triggered by them can avoid them. Tag them so that people know what to watch out for.

yk what. Maybe I will hop on the trend and take a break from American political news for a while. I don't even live there so it won't affect me, unless it does in which case Canadian news outlets will report on it. I trust my muties will let me know if the shit really hits the fan. There's no way I won't hear, anyway, my housemates are all pretty into the news anyway. I really don't stand to benefit from any of it, and in the situations where I genuinely need to be informed of something, I'll still find out. All it'll do is make me upset, and I really don't need that in my life rn. thx @gummy-worms-in-my-brain for suggesting it last night. I thought about what you said, and you were right, so. Blocking some tags, setting up some filters, all that jazz.

Feel like I should say this here, while it’s very exciting and amazing that Stray Kids are being featured on the Deadpool movie soundtrack, we must also remember that that is a Marvel movie and Marvel is owned by Disney which is a huge target for boycotting right now. Stays feel free to celebrate this accomplishment because yes it’s a huge milestone in their career but please pirate the movie and song as if you aren’t you are giving money to supporters of Israel and Zionism.
