Note that I don't give medical advices. But I think it will take a little longer to get pregnant than you expected. Or maybe you don't plan to have a baby at that time, because you will be busy, maybe because of work, but I think you will move in together with your partner or move to another city at this time. Maybe you tried to get pregnant for a few months and than you will focus to another thing, probably this moving, and bumm, you will be surprised to find out that you are pregnant. So it's a little unexpected. Maybe you just need to let it go, you know, let go of the pressure and it will happen. I think if you doubt yourself before, during the pregnancy you will be just happy and you will honestly like your body. I see a cozy scene, you sit near the fireplace or in a garden and reading a pregnancy book. So when the baby arrives, you will be more confident in your ability to take care of everything. But in the beginning you probably have a little nausea and dizziness, after that first trimester you will feel so much better. I see you drinking a lot of water, and it will help you a lot. Maybe you or your partner travel because of work, and the other will travel with them, with the baby. So you will travel a lot with the baby, show them the world, take them to trips, camping, go to the zoo, to an amusement park, really spend a lot of fun time together. This child will be a unique person, a little bit of a free spirit. Really charming, everybody will like them. Happy, optimistic, fun. Probably will be a leader type. Full of charisma, an extrovert, very smart. You will laugh together a lot. I think it's more likely a boy.

There is a high chance to have twins. Or twins and a boy maybe, so I think you will have a rather big family, at least 3 children. Somehow the father figure is very strongly present here, so the father will probably there when the mother give birth. And he will make sure to provide everything to the children too, but for the mother too. He will literally spoil the mother during the pregnancy. You will feel like it's a very very big change in your life, maybe you will feel like you are not ready to have children or especially 3 of them, and maybe the age difference will be small between the siblings, so I think you will be a little worried at the beginning. But things will work out just fine. Maybe there is a grandfather too who will help you, or a grandmother but with strong personality. You need to be patient with the kids, because I feel both of them - or the twins-will be a little impatient and really curious, they want to know everything, want to see everything, want to climb everywhere. They have a lot of energie. They are brave. I think they will be very smart, probably go to college, one of them can be someone who speaks before a crowd, a public speaker, teacher, something like that. Probably a leader type. Very charming, funny. The other can be good at sports, very honest and straightforward. They will have a lot of friends, they will be popular. You will get married with your partner, probably a traditional marriage and a traditional household. I feel a lot of fertility here but somehow don't think it's a very big family. A boy probably, and maybe a girl too. You will be very creative with your children, a lot of drawings, handmade things. A lot of activity together. Movie nights, board games,trips. You will really enjoy each others company. A lot of time in the nature for sure. But I think you will require things from them, but still have a balanced relationship. You will take time to understand them, so even if you have rules for them, you will be fair and understanding. I think you will feel complete because of motherhood. I feel your home will be very stable, a warm home, like when you go to grandma and she has cookies and a warm smile for you, that kind of feeling. One child is a little sweetheart, likes animals, friendly, but you need to pay attention because she can be a little sensitive and daydream a lot. I think it's a girl. Oh! I watched the first 2 eps of the second season, then I decided to put off watching it for a while (I can always buy it in our local OTT platform, they have it there!) because the manga... ;v; is already making my head spin so much already. I can only focus on one thing at a time... It was SO good though!!// I remember how the first episode started with stage-play, which was very impressive. The opening animation sequence is amazing too! I'd like to binge it all at once later.

Hmm...about expectations, I personally consider the current arc to be great in terms of depicting Aqua's psychology. It was peak in terms of helping us understand his character, so I appreciate that a lot. We get to see all his pains and trauma and the struggles he had, and it was so powerful. I'm sure the anime would be touching on those currently, if they do a great job with that (along with Akane's rivalry with Kana and how they shine on stage in different ways) I feel I'd be happy with it! Also that scene with Melt. I'm sure that one's been animated because I saw a thumbnail of it on youtube. I'm also looking forward to the aqukana date. That's one of the few peaceful, cute moments we have. I'm sure I'd watch that part the moment it comes out because I'm curious how that's going to be acted out.. and I need to see some happy moments in onk for once. Stuff's been depressing in the manga lately and I feel sorry for a lot of characters;;

I really want him to get a bright color palette, because his name has to do with both "god" and "light"... or the god of light if combined.. I SERIOUSLY believe he HAS to do with amenouzume, the entertainment god's husband!! That god conveniently is said to have a "shining body" and is called the god of the bright lights!!!! There is no way that has nothing do do with him!! I don't really picture him with dark eyes, I feel golden eyes would really suit him because that gives off the "light" imagery and it'd make sense. It'd also be able to make his black star eyes really stand out as he has them.. and I feel he'd make a good contrast with Ai if he's colored a bit brighter than Aqua or Ruby. purple and yellow contrast each other very well! So I'm crossing my fingers for that to happen. Same here, I'm really curious how he'd sound like, and I'm happily awaiting to see his depiction in the anime. Since I drew a lot of things about him already, I'd be a bit embarrassed if happened to get his colors off... but?? It's the colors I really want. So I won't regret having colored him that way. We can all dream, right!

Okay back for some more art related questions.

How did you make fpk so pink without actually making him pink? I feel like every time I try to draw a pale character with an undertone of color, it looks like that color even though on the color wheel I added like 3% of the color.

How long does it take you to do your art? For an example how long did the fpk reference sheet take you compared to The Cycle art piece with Grimm?

How do you eyeball man? Your art is literally the reference pictures I use to try and draw dark eyes but every time I try to draw them, it looks like Kawaii eyes. Like the eyes in this emoji:🥺. How do you do it?

it all comes down to a very simple thing - it's about highlights that trick your mind into seeing a different color. i'll mainly talk about pink here cause that applies to fpk and i have examples, but i'm sure you could apply this to other colors

here he is with the pink highlights, without them, and what he would look like if he was actually pink. see the difference? he's still predominantly light gray, but the pink details make you see it as more pink-tinted than he actually is

it's not a 1:1 match since he's leucistic as opposed to fully albino, but i was heavily inspired by pictures like these:

if you notice, they're not pink, all of them are white, but the pink areas around the mouths or in the shadows make them appear pink-ish

his pre-hibernation look is a lot closer to these pictures, since his soul glow made him more white than light gray (he also has very subtle iridescence)

the lineart also plays a big role in making a white/gray character appear to have a certain color

here's fpk as you see him on the ref with gray lines + pink highlights, with the highlights removed, and with pink lines (the shadow behind the horns was adjusted as well to match the lines)

both 1 and 3 appear to look light pink. the third one especially affects how the body looks, so depending how subtle you want the effect you may choose between the two options. or mix them, whatever you like. and as you can see, the colors on the last two are identical, but the one on the right looks more pink

(and if i'm being honest, i may actually snatch those pink lines for future drawings, cause i really like how that looks hahah)

2. it's very difficult to say, i get distract easily so i never keep a proper count. but the unshaded drawings don't take very long, unless there's a pose or any other details that gives me trouble, and i focus all my attention on it, i'd finish the lineart and color phases in probably around 30 minutes? the sketch always influences the length of the process the most, so there's no single way to determine it

and in the case of references, it naturally adds up. the last updates aren't exactly the most reliable way to deduce that since a lot of them were just updates to existing drawings. but if i were to start from scratch, had clear poses in mind and didn't get distracted, i could probably get it done in like two hours

as for the more detailed drawings, they take a lot longer. again, i can't really say how long, the cycle drawing took me a few sittings, but if i had to guess it was probably a few hours in total? maybe around 5? just guessing

3. depends which style i go for. in the unshaded style i keep the eyes simple. one flat color and two lighter colors for the reflections. the more subtle ones play a big part, they make the eye look more 3d and wet. and that also carries over to the painted, shaded style, which includes additional lighting and some details. i particularly like the little star shaped reflections, i think they're adorable but they're subtle enough where they're not distracting

another big part of how i paint his big black pupils is their reflective nature. in a brown room, they'll look more brown than black and so on. it's very exaggerated, normally such eyes wouldn't change color to such a drastic extent, but i think it makes the drawings look more interesting

i can't really offer any specific tips other than that, since i kinda make it up as i go. but using photo references is always helpful, especially for different eye colors

I've crawled out of my cave after playing Final Fantasy IX for a long ass time what have I missed?

Artist's Notes:

I'M BACK BABY! A while back I made a post with a new style experimentation thingy but I ended up deleting it because it was just kind of a boring face thing, I was planning on doing more art but then I started playing Final Fantasy IX and uhhhh yeah so that game has kind of taken of my brain for the past two weeks and I am 20 hours into the game because I love it so much. I wanted to draw Vivi because Vivi is just really fun to draw ok? I've kinda been feeling really burnt out with my lineless style, mainly because of how hard it was to do lighting. I'll show one of my initial art style tests on the bottom of this post. Again, used to have it be an individual post but it was just one face so it was kinda boring, so might as well include with this one on the subject of art styles. I wanted to kinda mix some aspects of my older style with the sketchy shading lines with a more painterly way of doing the lighting (mainly in the shadows). All in all, I think that's my favourite part about this drawing, it feels nice to finally be able to do some proper lighting again, and I want to experiment even more with my lighting and rendering in future pieces. Also, part of the pant shading got kinda lost in the sketchiness, so for next time I'll probably focus on the clarity of the more sketchy parts of the drawing, since I did go with my initial sketch for the final drawing. I also gave up on the background since I had no idea what to do for it, and I didn't put too much detail into the staff as I forgot which one I gave him in my current playthrough and I didn't want to risk spoiling myself via looking up references, but that's ok I like how the singular yellow circle on it matches Vivi's eyes. Also I was having a bit of trouble figuring out how to draw his body and how to pose him, but I like how the pose turned out a lot. It was inspired by his idle animation when in a battle in game where he does a little shimmy.

Ok I need to talk about Vivi's design because I love it so fucking much oh my god-

I absolutely love how his face is just in complete shadow and only his eyes stand out, it's so cool and unique and I love how they recontextualized the original black mage design from the classic Final Fantasy games. How they did it I won't say because I don't wanna spoil the game, but someone give this poor baby a therapist because he goes through a lot. Actually, same can be said for all of the FFIX cast, they all need therapy (again, I won't spoil anything, please go play the game for yourself).

While I do love almost all the characters in the game, even though Vivi is most fun to draw, my favourite character has to be Zidane (the main protagonist of the game). He's a really fun protagonist, and they could have easily written him as a misogynistic jerk who doesn't respect women but they didn't, and I really appreciate that. He's just an overall cool dude who's a really nice older brother figure to Vivi and also just has a cool character design (who I also want to draw eventually). Initially in the game I was planning on grinding levels for Vivi to make him the tactical nuke of the party, but then that title went to a different character (who was initially multiple levels behind the group since I grinded the party in the starting area way to much before they joined, but now they are two levels ahead of everyone and have pulled the team through a lot of tough battles, again I won't say who it is because it is kind of a spoiler and the way the gameplay actually ties into their character arc is just so good omfg). Once I eventually finish the game I'll probably write a full review on here, so no spoilers until then lol

Also, I've kinda been burning out a bit with making Touhou art, which also made me a bit burnt out with Touhou stuff in general (although I will continue keeping up with the manga) so getting into other things (i.e. Final Fantasy and even Fallout since I've watched the first season of the TV show which is a whole other post for another day) has helped me refresh and given me something new to think about. I've ended up in the exact place I feared ending up, where I would start drawing fanart for it not because I wanted to but because I felt like I had to, so I'm taking a bit of a break. When I do draw Touhou fanart again I'll try to draw for the sake of myself, and to all the other artists and fanartists on this platform (and on any social media for that matter), take care of yourself and don't forget to take breaks when you need to!

(Ok part of that last paragraph was definitley influenced by the good ol' "it's 9:00pm and I need sleeb, but the message at the end still holds up, always take care of yourself)

BOOK REVIEW: LIKE WATER FOR CHOCOLATE

This is not a book review (HAHAHA OK I JUST REALLY REALLY WANNA VENT SOME STUFF ABOUT IT AND WRITTING "BOOK REVIEW" SEEMS PRETTY AND IT MAKES ME FEEL COOL)

This will be poorly written (I write how I speak and I speak very wrongly so-)

I read the book in spanish so I hope things aren't too different in other languages

LET'S START.

QUICK SUPER FAST SUMMARY WITH NO SPOILERS:

It's a very good book (bruh HAHA). OK BUT IT IS A VERY GOOD BOOK. It's super short. It plays with time so as it's explaining something to you, it involves the past, the present and the future AND I LOVE THAT. Cause sometimes I don't know where I am and what things have happened already and what hasn't. It uses a lot of uhmm... how is it called? imaginary resources? It uses a lot of magical realism AND I LIVE FOR THAT. THERE ARE SO MANY SCENES I WANNA ANIMATE JUST BECAUSE THEY FEEL SO POETIC AND INCREDIBLE TO PICTURE. Not that I understand them, but it's just so magical to read them.

Honestly, some stupid theories I thought while reading was Tita had super powers or something, or she's crazy and everything described is all in her mind. But I would very much prefer to believe, all those things are real in that universe.

Anyways, good book. Short, it has a lot of cooking recipes (It's unknown to me if people would be able to copy them by just buying this book but who knows, maybe) a lot of magical realism and incredible pictures. I HAVE TO MENTION- that this book wouldn't exactly be for kids as it references adult relationships and many of the imaginary resources come from private body parts or mildy... LIKE NOT DISGUSTING THINGS, just not... average things? Idk- If I had to describe it in a way. It's a kind of book that is like when you see someone naked and it's not supposed to be sexual or awkward. It's like you are drawing a model and take it as art.

Can you show us your drawing process?

Many of my pictures are the result of emotionally charged inspiration. This can be a picture, a film scene or, very often, music. In this case: "Hurt" by Johnny Cash.

Once I'm in the mood to draw something and inspiration has provided me with a vague idea, I create my first scribble.

I use a different colour overlay for each scribble layer. This helps me to sort myself out. It has become a habit that the first raw scribble is coloured purple. Then green, then red for the actual outline. Red and green also have "historical" reasons, as before the time of print films, the preparatory artists in old comics used these colours. But that really doesn't matter today and only feels good to me because it creates a kind of spiritual connection to my ancestors. Does that sound crazy?

Once the composition is finalised, I look at all kinds of pictures that can serve as a reference for complicated parts. For example, photos with extreme perspective foreshortening and the like. Reference images are extremely important, hardly any artist who works a lot with anatomy does without them. The human body is fascinating, but it has some quite astonishing characteristics that you can't make up!

It's a good idea to have a folder where you can store interesting pictures of anatomy for possible future references. I have a lot of collections called "Arms_Foreshortened" or, my most hated, "Feet_Angled".

Once I have defused all the anatomical booby traps, I start working on the design. Sometimes I already plan where I'm going to set accents with flat, black elements. In this case, I wanted to keep the focus on the demon and therefore designed the body at the bottom to be very blocky and restrained.

Now it's time for the final outline. You can see that the green scribble is already very close to the final drawing. But that doesn't always have to be the case. Sometimes there are several completely different green scribble stages.

I have a few ink brushes that I use again and again, but I'm not 100% satisfied with any of them. I'm still looking for the perfect brush. Both for pencil and ink. I have quite a few home-made brushes - especially for special pieces like chains.

As I rarely or never really colour, I use black to give depth and weight. And to draw attention. Black can have both a restrained effect by concealing unnecessary details (for example, on the body in the picture below) and also draw the eye to itself, as with the black parts of the demon.

I love black. Black is fantastic.

Then add a little background (I hate backgrounds) and you're done!

sure thing! i'll go to the absolute basics so folks from any art level might get something from it, so i apologize if i'm explaining something that might be obvious, but bear with me here

i've pulled a couple in-game screenshots! using refs to start with is gonna be the most help tbh, and it's good practice imo to get the hang of everyone's shapes this way. our models today will be Mycologist Seeli and Hazel Steelcrasher

it can help to start by just taking the characters and tracing over top of them to figure out their shapes. the way i tend to do it is with a sort of wooden art mannequin way, separating out the sections into blocks and connecting them with joints, adding median lines that help track the direction different aspects are pointing, things like that! if you're just starting out it might be really helpful to crack some art anatomy books for humans and animals before tackling funky li'l guys like these, as we can take observations from life and apply 'em fictionally

from there I can start to try and eyeball the shapes-- both of these mannequins i've drawn were just by referencing their adjacent images, and all the shapes have done for me is map out my pose as well as the characters sort of volumes so that i can get a feel for where they are in the space i've put them in, if that makes sense. all the extra little lines on the face can help me with proportions and expressions too, but i've gone a little loose with 'em here for the sake of just focusing on structure

then from there, I can apply my sketching process to freehand drawing without references! that said, there's absolutely nothing wrong and it is in fact a good thing to use lots of references to apply to your work, especially for a piece you super wanna polish

and finally!! it's very, Very helpful to figure out how both asura and charr differ from a strictly humanoid anatomical setup! admittedly i draw my charr and my asura slightly more human-proportioned (usually around the legs) but doing studies that compare and contrast certain structures, like the face or the torso and legs like i've demonstrated above, can do wonders in designing characters in the future and translating certain features between body types.

I don't know if I'm exactly the person you should asking, seeing as I'm still fairly new to art so I'll point you in the direction of a few of my personal favorite artists as well! I do have a few tips and exercises for you that I've found to be quite helpful (if not fun) that have been passed down to me by other artists and teachers, though.

1. You should really learn your anatomy before you try to find your specific style. Without knowing the basics first, you'll probably jump around and have no consistency when drawing the same character. Knowing the body is very, very important.

Exercise 1: Using reference photos (I recommend dancing and sports photos for more dynamic shapes, beauty influencers and photographery for what is typically "attractive," and lots of different body types and skin tones for a diverse and more realistic character) and trying to figure out the line of action, then make a gesture drawing to get the basic feel of the body's movements, then the shapes of the body, etc.

Exercise 2: (The fun version) Draw a random shape. Yes, a random one - it can be pointed or round or wavy. It just has to connect. Then, try to make a character that fits in the bounds of that shape. This will push you to try to figure out what is necessary to make a human look, well, human, and also limit the clutter of your characters' accessories and clothing. It also helps you create a unique silhouette (which is always great when making a good, recognizable character)

2. Colors! I'm sure you know basic color theory from when you learned how to draw objects, but if not, you should definitely get on that. It's best to know what colors work best with specific skin tones or whatever you're putting on your character. There are a lot of color theory videos on YT which I think you should check out!

Exercise 1: Limit yourself to 1 color - you may only use variations of that color for your entire character. Yes, this includes skintone and hair. This exercise helps you with values and gets you connected to what places need darker or lighter colors. It's also just really, really fun.

Exercise 2: (Variation of 1) Find a color pallette and stick to those colors exclusively. Try to use the 60-30-10 rule if possible (meaning 60% of the character is one color, 30% is a different color, and 10% is another color). Not everyone adheres to this rule since character design is fluid, and you can do whatever the heck you want, but I personally think that it helps to push your knowledge of color.

Exercise 3: The internet is your best friend. Find a very colorful image online of a model that you really like, or a person that's sitting in some nice lighting, or even an animated character that had some funky colors. Try to imitate the rendering. Shading is pretty important when learning how to draw because it can really change how the muscle looks without it. (Depending on your style, shading can look very, very different.)

3. (Extension of Color) Once again, shading is very important! Depending on the project, however, the way you should shade can be very different. For animations, shading is typically minimal so that they can focus on the movement and not slave over their computer for days on end shading and shading and shading. Keep that in mind! For cartoon or anime art styles, it's often blocky and not blended. For real-life proportions and art styles, it's often blended and rendered (and normally without line-art if that's the route you wanna go 👍).

Exercise 1: Try out and study all sorts of art styles and shading types! It's really helpful in the future if you want to know what you like best! If you want to study a specific artists' art, it's best to ask them beforehand, however. Get their OK before starting. If they say no, then don't. (By the way, no art style is original, no matter what anyone says.)

3. on a scale of 1-10 how much do you enjoy incorporating romance into the average story?

Hm... obviously a lot of my fics involve romance in some way or another, just because I think there are so many ways it can take shape and I love exploring those different dynamics. So for fanfics... maybe an 8 out of 10 - romance is by no means a requirement for a good fic, but I just think it's fun, especially when you can look at the ships and say "Hey, Eris and Rick love each other, and Jasper and Kyle love each other, but they love each other in completely different ways"

But in terms of all my stories, both fanfic and original, it's more like 3-4 out of 10. I still like writing romance, but my original writing is a lot more sci-fi, horror, or modern fantasy, only a few of which have a major romantic plotline.

It's really only fanfic where romance is so ubiquitous in my writing, my original stories have some very different vibes.

43. how did writing change you?

Oooh man...

So on a more serious note, writing has kept me alive. I've pushed through some of my darkest moments with the knowledge that if I don't get this story finished, nobody will ever be able to read it because it otherwise exists only in my head. It's why I keep so many active WIPs even when I can never update them on schedule - as long as I have a story waiting for its ending, I have at least one reason to keep going.

On a less serious note, it's changed how I look at the world. When my mind wanders, I find myself mentally describing what's around me, or coming up with snippets of description or dialogue (either for my stories or just standalone bits). I also have gotten a lot better at categorizing my thoughts and emotions, since I find it easier to put words to those feelings.

51. share the synopsis of a story you work on that you haven’t published yet

Hm... I can't really call this a WIP since I haven't even written out a full outline yet, but I picked an idea at random from my ideas list and here's my attempt at a synopsis:

Christina "Chris" Carver can see the future. It comes in pieces, illogical flashes that overtake their entire body at the most inopportune of moments. When they experience such an episode in the middle of a crowded subway station - mere moments before a devastating bombing that costs dozens of lives - their life is upturned in a complex legal struggle that they can't seem to fight their way out of. How do you prove the existence of foresight? They're going to need a really good lawyer.

(it's been a while since I looked at this OC and I think they're due for a bit of a revamp, but the plot is one of my more dynamic ideas)

62. what’s the weirdest reason you’ve ever shipped something?

Oooh man... I'm not sure. Most of my OCs and those ships come from these sort of "what if?" opposites - what if Mister Morals Rick Flag was met with someone with an incredibly flexible moral code? What if Peter Maximoff was forced to slow down and pay attention? What if Alex Summers, a man who mocked physical mutations, was given a partner who develops extreme physical mutations herself? What if Wojchek, a sailor with a lot of superstitions, ended up in a relationship with one of his own old sailor's tales? And so on and so forth. I don't know that any of those are weird, it's usually just an element of the character that I want to draw out and focus on.

And all of my canon-character ships are fairly run-of-the-mill, I think? At least, I can't think of any that are super out-there or have a particularly weird reason behind them.

He's one of the characters who shows up a lot and has a lot of backstory vaguely referenced but never gets a perspective to explore that so I was wondering if you'd be down to share what ideas you had for his backstory while you were writing. it's actually kind of funny that you ask this... playing with matches has always been the heart of magnolia verse to me, and future installments were/are going to focus on the characters in that fic (particularly agnes, oliver, julia and gerry, with some others). most of them have pretty detailed backstories in my mind but michael was one of the ones whose history i've actually thought less about!

i did have a few things in mind - michael had one particularly shitty relationship when he was ~16/17 that he still carries a lot of baggage from. he had crushes before that but never anything he was brave enough to act on, so it was pretty formative for him wrt his expectations for relationships. he was basically being strung along and used by a guy who didn't have strong romantic feelings for michael the way michael did for him. michael also didn't have a lot of friends growing up, or at least not since childhood, so he really wants to be loved (in any capacity, but he's particularly insecure about the romantic). going back and forth with his divorced parents didn't help with this - he stays with his mom most of the time and had to move when he was ~13-14, uprooting most of his life to a different school where he knew no one, and he never really settled in and found friends there. he's also pretty socially anxious and until meeting gerry, hasn't quite figured out how to get out into the world. he's a homebody mostly because he doesn't know how to be anything else (yet), and though he has art school friends, they aren't very close. too much of his impressions of queerness and college life were formed by the internet/popular media and he has a bit of an inferiority complex about it - he's very aware that he doesn't Do Much aside from art and feels like a loser because of it. (this is an unfortunate combo with his body image issues, insecurities about what he can offer in a relationship, and him being very much starstruck by gerry's band, leading to some of the conflict you see in playing with matches). some other random details: he's out to his parents but has a slightly strained relationship with both of them (he's closer with his grandma on his mom's side!), he has severe adhd but i don't think he knows it yet, he's been drawing for basically his whole life but recently focusing on art forms that involve more physical processes because it's good for his mental health (atm it's various forms of sculpture).

but honestly i've thought a lot more about michael's future than his past! at this point i've been telling people for years that magnolia verse is still in progress and feeling more and more guilty when a completed work fails to materialize, but i still can't stand the thought of leaving it as-is and have to believe in my ability to finish one more fic, so... there Will be one more... but probably not anytime soon and it probably won't be gerrymichael centric. so i'll just tell you about the gerrymichael fic i DID have planned lmao.

so: ex altiora goes viral and gets very popular very quickly when they finish school and release a full album. the speed of it is great for their careers and bad for their mental health. agnes and gerry really struggle with it. gerry in particular starts getting a lot of fans which makes him REALLY nervous because he's going stealth, trying to hide from his mom, and just generally not super interested in being a public sex object! this is a little bit Weird for his relationship with michael. he gets pretty (reasonably) paranoid and wants to keep his personal life very private, but michael Does Not Get It and is hurt because he feels like he's being kept a secret. he's also a little bit jealous of the attention, though he won't admit it, and is overall experiencing new depths of insecurity that he will (eventually) Finally get to process because he still thinks of gerry as the Cool One with all the power in the relationship. meanwhile gerry is so anxious and trying to cope with the spotlight of sudden internet fame/irl fame in certain contexts (i.e. shows) and feels like he can't confide in michael about it. the tension in his and julia's friendship is also reaching a breaking point around then and they have a huge fight which leads to them (gasp) speaking honestly about thoughts and feelings they've had for years! but anyway. everything gets sorted out in the end, and michael and gerry end up much happier! michael resolves his issues, gerry comes out to the world, they work out boundaries together, everyone becomes closer :)

Hello! I have been enjoying the content here, so thank you for it! Recently I feel so drained. Exhausted. Mentally and physically. My head, eyes,ears hurt. And my thoughts are messy. Any specific tips on how to relax both mentally and physically ?

Thank you a lot for your words and for being around! Let me just remind you and everyone else that I am not a professional figure, and anything you find on here is either from my own experience/reflections and online resources (phsychologists/therapists and such).

Now, to answer you. Exhaustion is a common feeling these days, as far as I have noticed: heat itself (if applies) may cause exhaustion and headaches, as our bodies consume more energies to keep up with it. Exhaustion also usually brings in the need to sleep more to recover, and your thoughts may indeed feel scattered cause of this tiredness: you cannot focus on anything, at least not for long. You may even get easily nervous.

A pretty long period of deep anxiety/stress caused by any reason/s may give you these symptoms, all of which may sum up into something called "mental exhaustion": your mind, after that huge period of stress and demanding activities (maybe school ended? Or a more stressing job/life situation, for example, but also healing itself), is telling you by sending signals through your whole body that is time to rest, and this is why your thoughts may seem more confused than the usual and you feel so tired and have all these pains.

To be fair, these symptoms could even relate to other causes, from blood pressure to cervical pain caused by a specific position, for example. I would recommend, if you think you may need, to have a check with your doctor or have blood analysis before referring to any specialist (maybe even a nutritionist), just in case this fatigue may originate from the lack of any vitamin or other molecule in your body. I, for example, have low level of iron which causes me low blood pressure and exhaustion/headaches especially in summer, and I need to integrate it in my routine.

Anyway, as you are realizing the causes of your problems (if you need, but I had to mention cause again I'm in no way a professional figure in any field involved here), you can try to give your mind and body breaks.

Mentally, you can do anything that helps you relax and recover from that stress: from taking a walk, to meditating, drawing or painting, cooking, doing yoga movements (some are very helpful, there are videos by yoga instructors on youtube + I had posted my routine as well somewhere)... TBH my brother recharges by going out with friends while it just would drain me to no end: we're all different so I cannot suggest you anything specific. Just find out what works for you, follow your guts: if one day you need to draw, just draw; if another day you want to sleep, just sleep. Listen to yourself. There are also guided meditations to relax yourself on youtube if you want to try them: maybe focusing on doing something specific while laying down, can be of help both not thinking about anything stressful that may happen to you and could help you even sleep better. I might also try and post at least the text of a meditation I used to follow in the past (not sure if I can post it anywhere as an audio, I'll see).

I personally would recommend slowing down your life in general: evaluate priorities and urgencies and focus on these while postponing all that you can (unless it will make you torment yourself over what you need to do next: while you recover/relax, you need to commit to recovering/relaxing, and thinking about what you need to do next is not helping you recovering nor relaxing); also sleep as much as you can/feel/need to. Do not feel guilty about it, you're only saving energies and trying to get back more after having given away so many. Be as present as you can: worrying about past or future stuff won't help you relax, just stay in touch with yourself and listen to yourself.

T session (long)

Man, T is really good. I'm really happy with how she showed up for me today.

On the way there I got super nervous and kind of dissociated. T noticed pretty quickly and she gave me some paper and pencils to draw a "feeling thermometer" if I wanted to. We ended up talking a bit about the tension, T said she could feel it in the air and as a pressure on her chest. I explained that I think my body knows that therapy is a place that's often very upsetting and so it kind of already gets upset beforehand and we talked about the window of tolerance a bit more.

Eventually I mentioned that it may help to talk about animals and that really did help a lot. I said that maybe I need to make a list of subjects like that again and T said that in those moments it's also hard for her to come up with subjects because she kind of gets sucked in with me.

When we got going, T asked for feedback. She asked about the reenactment I've been feeling and how it relates to her. I explained and I think there's still a lot to talk about in the future... she said she also is insecure about if therapy can continue next year (based on insurance) and that I can see that she's also getting a bit older. And she admitted that she hasn't had the same bandwidth lately as she usually has.

I noticed that I got a bit afraid from her saying those things and therefore shied away from discussing it further, though she did say that she will focus on the things she can control and that we are both doing the very best we can.

I shared the new list of goals for therapy I made last week. It has some goals about the relationship, such as gaining the ability to be comforted, and then also some wishes for coping skills and trauma work. T said that she recognized each goal as something that we're already working on somewhat and reiterated that she thinks we're on the right path.

When I came in I saw that she'd placed The Courage to Heal (a book) on the couch where I usually sit. It's a book that I mentioned to her and that she immediately bought... I have a feeling that this move of placing it on the couch was intentional, because she also mentioned two times that I make good book suggestions and that even her colleagues also find them useful. At some point in the past we had a rupture about this (I asked her to read a book and she said she wasn't sure she wanted to specialize in complex dissociation), so it means a lot to me that eventually she did. And it also means a lot that she seems to look at it differently now and seems to appreciate this side of me somehow.

Then I mentioned what happened last week with Fox and fox. I talked about the things I learned about fox and T said she thought it sounded really calvinistic and sadistic. She wondered out loud what the purpose could be of such a controlling and purposefully confusing part and she said that perhaps it is about not wanting to be a victim anymore and about thinking/realizing being unhelpful when you're stuck in an unescapable situation.

She asked me how I felt in my body and I very vaguely said that I felt "lines", which made T very curious. So then I drew a body and coloured what I felt (which is MUCH easier than trying to describe it). T said that it looked like what you would feel if you were in flight and tried to hide it.

We spoke more about containment and my associations around it and why it doesn't work. (The associations with trying to seem as normal as possible and "keeping it locked inside").

Eventually I also said that I found her invitation to message her very very confusing last week and asked her not to do that again. I'd rather have things be very clear.

I also asked if I could record sessions in the future, because I miss so much of what she says whenever I get triggered. She immediately said yes, but also seemed scared. So we spoke about that for a bit and she admitted she was scared, but also thinks it's a good idea.

She said the first step will be to listen to my body more in our sessions. She didn't say this explicitly, but I got the sense that we will work on making things a bit more gentle.

I'm still scared about insurance and all that, but also feel hopeful about working together.

When I say private, I mean somehow-this-guy-cleared-an-entire-restaurant-just-for-your-date private. But don't mistake this gesture to mean he's shy. Chi - 散 scattered, Aki[ra] 明 - bright, light, clear, scattered light

Sakyū - 砂丘 - dune, sand dune, sand hill,

his given name is a placeholder, mainly because i can't think of another name relating to his quirk, so i gave him a more 'usual' name but with different kanji(hoping i did it right). scattered light could be a reference to how shattered glass catches the light.

also wouldn't it make more sense if given names were based on the person's quirk and family names weren't? idk maybe im misunderstanding how japanese names work/the structure if it.

i also haven't made a design that I like yet but I'll draw him at some point.

Sakyū is currently in class 1a/1b limbo hell purgatory. i can't decide which class would work better for him.

Quirk stuff

[Sand Control] - the user can create sand(assuming to the molecular level and from using natural minerals found in the body) and control it via telekinesis.

I'm guessing it would be Emitter type, I'd have to look at the types again to be sure.

Okay so since telekinesis based quirks are KINDA overpowered, like he can do a lot JUST with the sand part, not even including the telekinesis. he's going to have a few drawbacks.

Drawbacks of [Sand Control]:

- If Sakyū uses his quirk for too long, physically it puts a strain on his hands and arms, the constant feeling of friction burn, even if the sand is not directly coming from his hands.

- His skin is not toughened in any way, so he isn't immune to abrasion or cuts from his quirk.

- He can get extremely dehydrated and usually passes out if he overuses his quirk.

- Since his quirk uses natural minerals in the human body and converts into sand(trying my best here, don't think about it too much), he's also probably deficient in a ton of things. which also contribues to him passing out.

-In the very, very far future, he realizes that his quirk can have more uses. In the situation he can control sand to molecule level, it would make sense he could seperate the composition of sand and control the individual components. Natural glass perhaps.

- If would have to come directly from his skin however, since he isn't used to seperating sand and would require more focus than he can handle while using telekinesis at the same time. And since his skin is normal skin, saying it would hurt would be an understatement. He'd probably figure something out eventually but not anytime soon because he's already OP and I'm trying to power scale here.

- Most telekinetic based quirks have headaches as a drawback, and so does Sakyū. Worst case scenario it turns into a migraine.

--------------------- Other stuff that's kinda quirk related

- NOT a drawback stemming from his quirk, completely unrelated, is that Sakyū has tactile based sensory issues. Mainly regarding to more rough textures or grainy textures like cotton swabs/balls, dry towels, rougher fabrics, sandpaper, sand, etc. even if he didn't have [Sand Control], he would still have sensory problems.

- like just imagine having a quirk that just makes whatever texture/other forms that you're sensitive to and constantly getting overstimulated. i'd be so unhappy all the time. literal sensory hell.

- quirk counselors(blurring between canon and fanon here really quick because I like the idea of them) just thought he could create sand and advised to try and not activate it since it was causing him obvious distress.

- this probably means he was overstimulated a lot as a kid when his quirk manifested. if he ever did accidentally activate his quirk(as kids have poor control over their quirks) and didn't figure out the telekinesis part of it yet, then sand would touch his skin.

(i like to think because of telekinesis bullshit, he can create the sand without/before it touching his hands, but it takes a lot of effort and focus so eventually he got gloves to try and make it easier)

(that also takes a lot of concentration since he isn't used to wearing gloves and using his quirk, under the assumption that it wouldn't work at all)

(and his hero costume is completely covering his skin with thicker fabric which also just protects his skin from damaging himself from his own quirk. his sensory problems aren't as severe as when he was a young kid, but sometimes its hard for him to try and push through it, especially in stressful situations and he ends up getting overstimulated)

- once he did figure it out that the sand didn't have to touch his skin, kid Sakyū was a menace to anyone he didn't like. teachers, other kids, strangers that just looked at him wrong. immediate sand aimed straight for the eyes.

- of course his parents were not at all happy that their kid was being an asshole and often times were forced to hold his hand whenever they went somewhere with public until the age of 8 to try and prevent him from using his quirk. even then Sakyū could still probably figure ways around it.

- he eventually grew out of the habit of temporarily blinding the innocent but he is often still the victim of getting sand in his own eyes when he's tired or not paying attention, a subconscious thing.

- no suprise that his eyes also aren't immune so it hurts like hell. karmic retribution.

that's probably the basic of quirk related stuff for now, I can't think of anything else off the top of my head. i can get into details about his personality later and im not going to get into the specific of all the ways he could hypothetically use his quirk because then I'd be here all day.

She wants to focus all of her attention on only him and not the thousands of other things she’d been stressing about lately.

But, she has a feeling, based on his already stranger than usual behavior, that she isn’t going to be given the chance to resume her usual routines. Did he think there was going to be some radical shift from assistant to fiance? Sure, some things would change (for the better!) but the line between work and devotion had long since been blurred. She’d been overstepping her assistant position for years; finally, the way she’s always gazed at him, the way she lets her fingers rest against his throat for long moments after straightening his collar, is appropriate.

“Thank you.” She’s quiet as always as she steps through the door; it isn’t a sign of discomfort. She’s more comfortable observing. This time, though, she takes the opportunity to test the waters of their shift in dynamics. She rises to her tip toes as she passes him, wraps an arm around his shoulders for a bit more leverage, and then presses a soft kiss to his cheek. She can practically feel the heat rise to his cheeks before she’s fully pulled away.

“I’ll start some tea.”

Varrick was not expecting the kiss--he freezes up and then goes limp as he realizes with excitement what's happening. His body trails after hers as she pulls away. He followed her.

"It's a wonder this place is still intact. We lost a lot of good buildings today. My profit margins are going to have to be tight for awhile to make up for the loss of assets."

He hovered over her as she started up the tea, fidgeting. He was still worked up from the battle, and he didn't know what he was supposed to do to relax. He wondered if he should kiss her, just because he could. For some reason, he was scared to. Love was so much more complicated than business.

"Zhu Li." He rubbed his hands together, then stretched to hide his nervousness. He wasn't used to being so unsure. "I know we're dating now, so things are different. I know I've got to appreciate you more, and that I've been a real dunderhead, but I also know you're the most efficient, capable woman the world has ever seen and you'd never do something as stupid as marrying me if it weren't one-hundred-percent intentional. The only thing is..."

He sighed. He looked down at the flight suit he was still wearing. For some reason, he suddenly desperately wanted it off, and the task seemed impossible on his own. So many buttons and clasps. He was so tired from the long day that his mind felt muddled and he couldn't even figure out where to start to begin making that happen.

If Zhu Li were his assistant, he would have tasked her with helping him. If she was his future wife, he could try... Asking...?

"Could you help me take this damn thing off? I'm sick of being in it. I want nice, silk pajamas, stat." He smiled, a little sheepishly. That wasn't an emotion he was used to feeling. "Only if you don't mind."

Varrick was... Overstimulated. That was one way of putting it. So much had happened that day! He'd gotten engaged, became a hero, seen a new spirit portal open thanks to the superweapon he'd invented that had nearly wiped out him and everything he cared about, but it hadn't, and he was safe now, alone with his fiancee and trying to process everything that had happened.

His fiancee. No longer his assistant. That was the part he really couldn't get over. He felt like he hadn't even had time to really think about it. She'd said yes. How were things going to change?

He felt overcome with it even as he opened the door to his penthouse. Thankfully the building had escaped unscathed from the battle. He wasn't even really used to being back in Republic City. He was happy, of course he was, but he didn't know what things were going to be like now. Whatever it was, Varrick would be happy with it because it was with Zhu Li. Even if he had to make his own tea now. And wash his own clothes. And fold them. And hang them. And iron them, and, oh, spirits, how many steps did clothing even have?

Was that what married life was? Washing your own socks? It had always seemed so unappealing before. Would it suit him? Was he in a bold, new, independent era? That sounded terrifying. Still, he was prepared to face it with characteristic bravery and good humor. He was a hero now, after all.

He got to the door first. "After you," he said to Zhu Li as he opened the door, then forgot to wait and stepped inside. He realized as he did kt and stepped outside again to keep holding the door open. "Ladies first."

You’re a pro hero and also a teacher at UA you mainly teach History but you also teach other subjects from time to time. This was thanks to your high focus on academic achievements. It was your first year as a teacher you were still very new to it but you were very excited and proud that you got into UA High of all schools. You were teaching for three months now and you really enjoyed it. You just finished your last class and you had waved your students off when they left. You glanced over at the clock and it was 16:30 o’clock. You stretched your sore muscles after a tiring day of teaching. You got ready to prepare the lessons for tomorrow as you were excited to teach your class about Greek mythology. You were busy editing and adding information on your lesson plan. Until you heard the tune of the intercom go off. It was principal Nezu. He was calling all the teachers for an urgent meeting through the intercom. You put on your baby blue cardigan and quickly put your hair in a ponytail. And you rush to the meeting room. Entering the meeting room you are met with only one other teacher you greet him quickly and notice it’s Eraser Head. He looked very handsome up close. You’ve seen him before in the hallways but never had a real interaction with him before. “Oh you’re the new teacher? I’ve heard from principal Nezu that the two of us will be working a lot together in the future, it’s nice to meet you.” He says giving you a curt smile but he quickly drops it to your surprise “Whatever you do though don’t give me unnecessary extra work.” He says with an annoyed look. You just stare at him with narrowed eyes. What’s up with him? You thought. Suddenly you felt a little less excited about this school year.

How it started:

You stood in front of the massive door and took a deep breath before entering the classroom. The day before, after classes ended, Aizawa knocked on your classroom door. "Nezu told me you'd do the explaining about Re-destro and the Quirk singularity doomsday." You stopped grading your students' work and looked up. You nodded "I'll have to explain that to all the first-year students this week, I finished the preparations for it." you said in a self-assured tone. He nodded and entered your classroom which surprised you, you gave him a suspicious look. "Can I help you with something else?" you asked narrowing your eyes. I mean Aizawa was always a mystery to you, he made it clear that he saw you as a burden from day one, yet he still lingered around you. "I am a first-year student and you are you. Let's practice," he said in his usual lazy manner while sitting down in front of you. You stood up from behind your desk and decided to get this over with. You started to explain the whole theory and you started to lose yourself in the information and gave your own opinions and speculations after you finished rambling. You saw that Aizawa looked at you with an expression you couldn't quite read. It looked like fondness, he praised you and said to do it like this tomorrow, and after that he left. Once you opened the door and entered class 1-a, you noticed how all eyes were on you. You'd be lying if you said you weren't nervous but you had your trusted poker face painted on your face. "this is y/n (or your hero name) she is a new teacher and she will teach you guys something. She is more educated on the matter than I am." Aizawa said while sitting in the back of the class and letting you do your thing. You introduced yourself to the class and started your lesson and answered all the questions they had. One student in particular, a freckled green haired boy, seemed to have a lot of interest and opinions on the topic of the quirk doomsday theory which you appreciated. It made you feel more passionate and listened to when you were explaining the topic in front of the class. After no one seemed to have anymore questions, you finally gave your ending note and thanked everyone for listening. You didn’t expect to get a standing ovation but you did. “Okay class that’s enough!” Aizawa speaks up with a commanding voice his hair was floating and his eyes were glowing red. He activated his quirk, erasure. You thought it was interesting how much more different and intimidating he could look by just activating his quirk. The class immediately went silent as everyone sat back down in their seats. Aizawa made his way over to you at the front of the class. “Thank you y/n you can leave now.” He spoke up again, but this time a lot more calmly and without his quirk being activated. You gave him a quick nod as you got ready to leave but Aizawa stops you before you can do so. “Wait, could you come by after you're done with your lessons. I have something I would like to discuss with you.” He says you didn’t like the sound of that but all you can do is agree. Aizawa seemed to notice that you weren't happy with his request because he suddenly speaks up again. "I mean over dinner." He says in a hushed tone so that the students don't hear him. "what?"You asked dumbfounded. He discreetly leans in and whispers "Let's go out for dinner after classes. You and me.”
