HEAT OF THE MOON | jeon jungkook au [TEASER]
summary: In a far away land lives a young princess who’s dreamt of a place unlike anything you’ve ever seen before. trapped behind palace walls and a predetermined future, you wish upon a star for a life different from yours and find yourself at the hands of Jeon Jungkook—a broke musician stuck waiting tables day and night. this strange new pairing brings adventure to your lives and he helps you navigate through the real world and experience redamancy along the way.
➣ genre/au: fantasy. smut. parallel universe.
real world Jungkook x fantasy princess y/n
➣ wc: TBD
warnings: smut. angst. fantasy. humor. more TBD.
His black boots stepped into huge puddles of water as his denim jeans turned a shade darker when wet. The black and white leather jacket he wore did very little to actually conceal him from the rain and his white t-shirt still got drenched. He realized now it was going to be a long ride home.
The employee parking lot was poorly lit and down the sketchy back alley but he barely even noticed how dangerous the way was. He usually just walked without a care in the world knowing that if someone even tried it, he could give them a good ole’ ass whooping.
Just as he reached the parking lot, he nearly jumped in fear at the sight in front of him. He couldn’t see clearly through the rain but for a second he thought he saw a ghost dressed in white with wet hair concealing its face. The part of him that assumed he could survive a horror movie had him walking closer until he stood just a couple feet behind. It was now that he was up close that he realized this was not a ghost but a person, living? — he’s not sure yet.
“Hey,” Jungkook called as if that little word could get their attention, “It’s raining.” — as if they didn’t know that when they were completely drenched in rain water.
The person was a bit smaller than him in height and he worried for a second that something might seriously be wrong, so like the Good Samaritan he believes he is, he touched their ankle with the tip of his black boot, “Are you aliv—“
“Ah!” A loud scream burst through the air as you sit up from your lying position, now regaining consciousness feeling cold and alert when something touched you. Jungkook couldn’t help but yell too, worried that he really did find a ghost, “Ah!”
It took about a minute of uninterrupted screaming and staring for the two of you to stop and he watched you look around anxiously, “Where am I?”
Far away from the comfort of your palace, that’s all you knew.

(Complete, link to the second part down below ⬇️)
Summary: Gus March-Phillips was gone for about four years. Leaving behind the one woman that he loves. He’s hoping against all hope that you’ve waited for him. Becoming more and more anxious as they pull into the harbour and you’re nowhere in sight… Did you grow tired of waiting? Have you found another in his absence?
Pairing: Gus March-Phillips x Fem. Reader
Warnings: cursing apart none whatsoever, just angsty yearning buut with a fluffy ending (smut/physical reunion in the second part, though Can Be Read As A Stand Alone)
Word count: 2.1K
A/N: Okay, guess who’s finally watched the movie yesterday? And loved every second of it?!!
As I’m always writing while listing to music, one song in particular inspired this (= One More Pull by The Wellermen, The Longest Johns!) Any mistakes are my own. Comments and reblogs are much appreciated. Thank you! Hope you’ll enjoy…❤️✨
! Neither the Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare nor the OC’s like Gus are my creation. The parts of lyrics I worked into my story aren’t mine either!
🌊 🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊
PART 1
A cold drizzle had started. Still he stood unmoving outside on deck, trying to look beyond the darkness. Trying to make out the harbour that would surely come into view any time now.
“Captain why don’t you come back in? Where it’s warm?”
Lassen’s booming voice mocked, “Pretty sure he’s got his eyes fixed on something special, am I right?”
Gus turned, not nearly as amused as he’d normally be at their banter. “Shut up. Go back inside.”
“Uh oh, sore spot? You’d think you’ve fallen…” Lassen’s mouth closed, upon seeing the angry, stormy Blues fixed on his face. He immediately knew he’d gone too far, trying to lighten the mood this way had not been one of his best ideas apparently.
“Just go back inside.”
At last Freddy and Lassen went inside, letting him be.
Usually he could take quip after quip from his men, without so much as pulling a face, but today wasn’t just any day. It was a day he’d promised you, would come way earlier than it did.
He’d assured you, he would only be gone for eight month. However that wasn’t the case, as their mission had been more complicated than they originally thought.
Now it’s been nearly four years, since he’d made that promise.
Growing anxious as more and more time went by, without hearing back from you. Gus and you had written a lot of letters, back and forth, yearning for each other. Telling the other of your day, sometimes even going as far as describing what you’d do once he’d be back.
Though his letters had become quite apologetic after ten long month, when there still wasn’t an end in sight for the mission.
After the third year, not being able to return to you, your letters had stopped altogether.
Making him sick with worry. Had something happened to you? Where you discovered? Tortured for information on him?
Or something else entirely…Had you found someone else? Someone who’d stay by your side? Someone that wouldn’t leave you alone for four years? Someone that wasn’t him?
Every time, those thoughts surfaced (which were often), he’d felt like Freddy. Just a burning desire to blow something up. Or to shoot whoever was responsible for the sudden stop of your writing.
Though he didn’t cease writing letters. They even got rather poetic at the end, because he was trying to impress you, wanting to let you know how much you mean to him. He simply couldn’t lose the only woman, he had ever loved. He will ever love.
The last one he’d written, was the one where he poured in everything he felt. The frustration at your silence. The hope you’d wait for him. The desperation. The deep, honest love he held for you… even the despair he’d felt for being away for so long. But now he finally headed home, to you. After all, you were his home.
This last letter of his, read something along the lines of:
// Dearheart,
I know I’ve promised to be back a long time ago. And I haven’t.
Regretting every second I’m not by your side. Though my love for you continues to grow stronger every day. My love for you, is both as calming as a sunny day near shore and as wracking as being in the middle of a storm on the high sea. Wave after wave of regret washing over me, threatening to drown me, because I’ve left you behind.
The despair I feel for having been away for so long, is shattering my heart, like a hammer would glass. Every splinter feels like it’s painfully piercing through my chest. More so, since you’ve been silent, every letter not returned, is a shard of my heart crumbling even further.
Now that I finally return to you, everything that’s left of my heart, may be just a fine powder. And like the untamed sea, you decide where to take the leftovers of said heart.
Will you drown the fragments like they haven’t been anything of value? Or will you carefully carry the particles of my heart through the storm, until they reach safe harbour?
For now the hope I feel is still somewhat able to sustain me. I know expecting you to wait, is not fair. That’s why I’m hoping. Because hope is the one thing that’s left, keeping my naïve heart beating, longing for you.
It’s been a long time since I’ve seen you. Will you be waiting when we dock in three days’ time, my love? Because soon we’ll draw closer and my journey will be done.
Yours to command, yours to love…
Gus //
Never before had he written anything like that, it was very unlike him. But he’d also never felt for someone like that before either, so he’d sent the letter. Again getting no answer.
Gus thought he was the most anxious when your letters had stopped, but right now as their ship approached harbour, his mind was beyond restless. The unease and dread he’d pushed down for months, creeping up just then, though making him stay frozen to the spot as his gaze was fixed on the lights that slowly came into view. Just when he thought he couldn’t take not knowing anymore, a huge paw landed on his shoulder.
“Here,” Lassen held out a spyglass, nodding at him to take it. In fact not just he had come out, his whole crew stood behind him, as if they were cheering for him.
Appleyard smirked; “Go on then, you surely can’t see without that.”
Gus shook his head, smiling though, he knew his men had his back no matter what. He took one deep breath then lifted the monocular to his eye.
Darkness, then he moved it back and forth until one of the houses on shore came into focus. From there he moved it until he saw a few smaller boats and then further to the right where he knew they’d dock. Where he hoped you’d wait.
There was nothing there, just three men sitting by the sea, probably drunk if their swaying was anything to go by. Not wanting to give up just yet, Gus moved the spyglass up, up, up, over the rooftops of the small town. Even further up into the mountains, where he knew your house sat, a little above the treeline. It seemed just as deserted as the dock, no lights, no nothing that’d point to the fact that you were awake or that’d you’d been waiting.
After one last desperate and frantic search of the harbour, he lowered his arms. You were nowhere to be found.
When he turned, all his men stared at him expectantly, which was the last straw, making him more furious than he’d thought possible. With an unnecessary violent shove, he barrelled the spyglass into Lassen’s chest with the words, “Not here.”
Bumping into Hayes, on his way inside the cabin, slamming the door shut behind him. His crew remained outside, unsure how to proceed. Gus grimaced. What had he been thinking? Why would someone like you, wait for someone like him? He was no prince, hell he wasn’t even a catch, so to speak. Angrily pacing up and down.
When he couldn’t take it anymore, he flung the door open again, growling, “What are you waiting for?! We are leaving!”
Bewildered at his aggressive outburst, Freddy carefully phrased his next sentence, “But…it’s dark. Maybe…”, he didn’t get to finish, as Gus seethed nearly screaming, “We are leaving! Now!” And with another slam, he disappeared back inside the cabin.
Gus tried to calm down. Closing his burning eyes, concentrating on his breathing and the footfalls of his men, getting the ship ready to turn around. Heart thumbing unnaturally fast within his ribcage. Forehead leaned against the door, then he heard it.
“Fuck. No WAIT!!”
He straightened, it couldn’t be? He strained to listen again, certain his mind was playing tricks on him. But that sweet voice? He didn’t have to wait long, when a second much louder curse could be heard.
“Arrrg you fucking ASSHOLE!!! WAIT!!! OI don’t you DARE LEAVE!! FUCKING STOP!”
Gus couldn’t help but grin, as he threw the door open.
He was greeted by Lassen’s smirk, “I think there’s something you might wanna see captain.”
Everybody stood by the railing, looking down into the water. He quickly made his way over, as well.
And there you were, seated in a tiny rowing boat all by yourself, angrily screaming up at him, shaking your fist.
“There you are. You SON OF A…”
All the happiness within was suddenly trying to bubble to the surface, seeing you down there. Not only had you waited, you rowed out onto the sea, alone, at night, to get to him faster.
He swiftly interrupted your rant, “Is that a way to greet your captain? Hey there, love. I’ve missed you, too.”
For a second you were too stunned to continue screaming. Then his deep timbre sounded again, “Well what are you waiting for, hoist the boat up, boys!”
This time around they gladly followed their captain’s orders immediately. Throwing ropes down, that you knotted around your small boat, so they could pull you up and swing you on board.
As soon as your feet touched the wooden blanks of his ship, you whirled around to glare at Gus, leaning against the railing. Sure you were beyond happy that he was back, but you were also furious that he had you waiting, for four fucking years. So you stormed over to where he stood, clearly expecting a hug, because his sturdy arms were already reaching for you.
Though instead, you began attacking him with your firsts, repeatedly punching his chest. Getting out all the despair, pain and agony you’ve stored inside you, all these years. And he let you, not moving an inch, even though it hurt. A lot.
You didn’t even notice the tears streaming down your face, that just added to the cold drizzle still coming down. After a few minutes placing hit after hit, you suddenly felt so exhausted, you simply slumped against him.
Then he put his arms around your shaking body, at last.
Embracing you as if he was afraid you’d disappear if he let go. You buried your face deeper into his chest, arms around his midsection, drawing him even closer.
One of his hands reached for your chin, tipping it upwards, so he could look at your face. His calloused thumb swiped over the soft skin of your cheek, wiping away the stray tears.
You couldn’t look away, you’ve never seen so many emotions swim in his Sapphires. If you weren’t mistaken, they even glistened with unshed tears, when he murmured, “I’ve truly missed you, dearheart.”
“And I you, so much. Just promise to never leave again. I couldn’t take that…”
His loving gaze roamed your face, “Never, I promise.” Then he leaned down, sealing his promise with a kiss. Your lips felt like heaven. Sweet and soft, moving in perfect harmony with his.
Unconsciously you softly hummed, making him smile against your lips. This in turn made you giggle, because his beard had tickled you.
“I love you.”
You replied, slightly biting you lip, “I love you, too.”
You two had been so caught up in each other, you had completely forgotten the others, surrounding you, until, “Aaargh, get a room…disgusting display of affection…”
Your head whipped around, looking at the biggest smirk on Lassen’s face as his voice had held no real bite. Gus only laughed in turn.
“Let’s get you inside. You must be freezing. And we still have to dock, don’t we boy’s?”
There was shuffling again, as they prepared the ship to take harbour. You weren’t really paying attention, you only had eyes for the handsome man that still embraced you tightly.

No, idiot
Janis ‘Imi’ike x Regina George
Warnings: coarse language, fluff
Just a cute little peek into their day, home alone while Janis’ parents are on a trip. Ft. ‘Imi’ike! younger sister reader(1 year younger) & Cady Heron
Inspired by this incorrect quote by @frogs00 & @magicmumu2 <3 :)
“Jan.” She hears Regina calling her name. But she ignores her, more focused on her phone— she was currently texting you.
“Janis.” She hears again. Ignored.
“‘Imi’ike.” Regina huffs, tossing a cheese puff at her face.
Janis shrieked. “What?”
“I’ve been calling for you forever.” Regina smirks, “What the hell are you doing?”
“Texting y/n.”
“Why? She’s fine. She’s at the grocery store.”
“I know she’s fine. I just want her to get my damn gummy worms.” Janis sulked.
Regina nearly snorted.
“What’s so funny?” Janis pulled a face, tossing her phone aside after reading your text.
“Nothing, you’re just cute. Can’t I think you’re cute?” Regina shrugs, “Idiot.”
“Shut the fuck up.” Janis scoffs, grabbing a couch cushion and tossing it Regina’s way. The blonde easily caught it and set it down. “Don’t make me hit you back with this.”
“Thought you already would’ve.” Janis flashes her a cheekily smile then picked up her phone when it buzzed. “NOOOO.”
“What?” Regina cracked a smile.
“They don’t have the gummy worms I wanted.” Janis sulked.
“So, just get something else?” Regina scooted closer, wrapping an arm around the smaller girl. “I’ll get you those you like next time we’re out.”
“Dude, I’ve been craving for that specific brand of gummy worms. I finally got her to cave and get me a bag and they’re out of stock.” Janis deadpanned.
“Babe, if you say ‘gummy worms’ one more time…I will laugh.”
“Ugh, forget it. It’s such a stupid thing anyway.”
Regina tilted Janis’ face and presses a kiss to her lips, “Cheer up. We’re home alone.”
Janis chuckled mockingly, “With my sister.”
“Like she would care what we do.” Regina replies.
“It’s stressful knowing she’s like two doors down.” Janis rolled her eyes.
“You could be quiet.”
“Tsk.” Janis looks up, glaring at the blonde, “Talk about yourself.”
Regina smirks again, then laughed breathily, “She’s not here now.”
“No.” Janis says, “We’re not doing anything now.”
“Okay.” Regina agrees without a fight.
“But when she goes out to watch a movie with Carly tonight, sure.”
Regina says, eager, “Ooh, okay.” Janis giggles a little. “Who’s Carly again?” Regina asks. “Is that the girl she has a crush on?
“The girl she likes, yeah.” Janis answered.
“Right.” Regina nods, tracing random shapes and lines on Janis’ forearm, “Did y/n tell her yet?”
“No, but the tension? It’s there alright.” Janis laughs at the recollection, “Every time I see them together, they’re like— flirting. To me at least.”
“Maybe they need a little nudge.” Regina winks.
“I am not meddling. They’re doing fine.”
“Yeah, whatever.” Regina said back, “So we know your sister’s queer because she came out to us. But is Carly?”
“I dunno. She never said anything more than ‘I think I like her’.”
Regina hums, “Oh. Hey, what’s for lunch?”
“Food, usually.” Janis answered without hesitation.
“No, idiot, I mean what are we having?” Regina was biting back a laugh.
“An unwanted conversation.” Janis smiled, earning a playful shove from the blonde.
“Why is your sister at the grocery store?”
“She said she wanted to cook something, I dunno. She’s old enough to drive, I don’t have to watch her like a toddler.” Janis shrugs.
Regina scoffs, “And you couldn’t have just said she was gonna cook?”
At this moment, they hear a familiar jingle of keys. You were home. “Hi, baby.” Regina greeted. “Hey.”
Janis squints, noticing a change in your mood. Not in a good way. “y/n, what’s wrong?”
“I ran into Carly at the donut shop I stopped at on my way home.” You began, “I was planning on telling her that I liked her tonight, but it doesn’t matter anymore.”
Janis and Regina shifted on the couch to make space for you in between them. You sat down. “She was there with a boy. And they kissed.” You started to explain, recalling the images in your head, “She was the one who started flirting with me first so I flirted back. I don’t even know when she got a boyfriend— she didn’t tell me. If she did, I wouldn’t have been so stupid and continued. I should’ve guessed it when she canceled on me last minute for the last few times. I’m so stupid.”
“No. No one could’ve just guessed something like that.” Janis disagrees, “And don’t you dare call yourself stupid. You are not stupid.”
“What can we do to make you feel better?” Regina asks seriously.
“I don’t know, honestly. I just feel like shit. I don’t even know what I want to do.” You admit.
“How about we get our friend Cady to come hang out, and you two can chat? See where that goes?” Regina suggested. Janis was alarmed, “Really? You think this is the right time for that?”
“Actually, yeah. Please do that.” You agreed, “I don’t want to think about Carly anymore. I honestly just need a clean break from her. Now that my feelings for her are no longer platonic. It’s not gonna help if I stay friends with her.
“I don’t get it.” Janis says.
Regina chuckles, “Right. You don’t know this, but word has it that Cady likes your sister.”
“Cady?”
“Yes. And she has a crush on Cady too.”
“I never thought she’d like feel the same way, too, in my defence. She’s way out of my league. She hangs out with you.” You said, looking at Regina.
“She didn’t hang out with me.” Regina pointed to Janis, “But she’s my girlfriend now. So your point?”
“Is that I’m nervous.” You looked at the blonde dead in the eye, “Okay, it’s silly to have two crushes at once but hey, if you’re gonna offer to text her for me so we can hang out, I’m not a complete idiot.”
“Is this not too rushed?” Janis raised her concern.
“No, I’m done with Carly. Nothing has to happen between me and Cady— we’re just hanging out, getting to know each other.” You replied firmly.
“Okay, if you say so.” Janis smirks, grabbing her phone.
“What are you laughing at?” You squinted at Regina.
“Just the fact that sooner or later, the whole of our friend group’s gonna be kissing each other.”
Janis chortled, “She’s right. Karen and Gretchen. Me and her. I mean, Damian’s…Damian. Then you and Cady, maybe?”
“Okay, I take it Janis is texting Cady. I will make us a nice lunch. You don’t worry about anything at all — just look pretty for your crush.” Regina decided. “Requests?”
“Just make whatever you want.” Janis shooed her away.
“Fine. Chicken and waffles?”
“Sounds good.” You told her as she walked into the kitchen and checked out your grocery haul.
“Are you sure you’re okay?”
“I’m fine, Janis. Just need a good cry in the shower later on. All a part of life, right?” You chuckled dryly, “We’ve been friends forever. Maybe that’s why it felt so easy to be catching feelings for her. It’s not her fault, I just wish she would’ve told me she was seeing someone just like she’s told me everything else. Then it wouldn’t have been so sudden and such a punch in the gut. Also, the fact that she acted as if I already knew when she introduced me to him? I knew I had to leave her. She wasn’t honest with me. I don’t want someone like that in my life anymore.”
Janis puts her arm around your shoulder, pressing a kiss to the side of your head, “You’ll be alright, bubs. We got your back.”
“Thanks, Janis.” You blinked profusely, trying to avoid the crying.
“Let’s watch a movie, alright? You pick one. I’ll be back in a second. Just gonna grab us some snacks.”
“Do you guys want cookies or brownies?” Regina asks from across the room.
“Both.” Janis requested.
“No, idiot. Pick one.” Regina laughs, “I’m using the boxed mixes in the pantry. So if your parents ask, it was me.”
“The cookies, please.” You replied, “Thanks, Reg.”
“I was hoping you’d pick the brownies, but I’ll listen to you because you’re in a bad mood and I’m trying to help you feel better if not Janis’ll kill me.”
“I will not.” Janis gasps, offended.
“You’re capable of it.” Regina retorted, “You lit my backpack on fire.”
“Wrong.” You chimed in, “She lit your unicorn on fire. Your backpack was collateral damage.”
“I’m joking.” Regina tries not to grin but still did at this interaction. She’d never admit it, but she obviously had a soft spot for Janis, but also, for you. She cares, but always hid her concern behind her usual attitude whenever she speaks or does something.
————
The smell of waffles soon wafted through the air, accompanying the aroma of the fried chicken. “Stop staring at my ass.” Regina looks over her shoulder.
Janis stuck her tongue out, “No.”
“Childish.”
“I’ll bite you.”
You laughed, hugging a couch cushion close while your eyes were glued onto the TV screen. Before you knew it, Janis was hopping off the couch and jumping onto Regina’s back while the blonde was plating the food. “Hey!” Regina exclaimed. “Damn, I could’ve dropped this on the floor, baby.”
“As long as you don’t drop me on the floor.” Janis continues, resting her chin on Regina’s shoulder.
“Will you please get off me?” Regina asked, “Lunch is ready.”
“Fuck, you’re a great cook.” Janis admired the food on the table.
“Thank you~ I try.” Regina says, “Off.”
“Fine.” Janis pouted, standing back on the ground.
Regina retaliated by smacking her on the ass. “Ow! Damn you!” Janis shrieked, “You’re going to pay for that.”
“Gladly.”
Sighing, then laughing lightly as you watched them joke around with each other, you walk over to the kitchen, joining just briefly to grab your plate. You ate in front of the TV while your sister and her girlfriend ate in the dining area.
“y/n, the cookies are done if you want them.” Regina tells you. You nodded, not paying much attention to her than you were the movie. “You okay?” Janis asks.
“Mhm.” You confirmed, then Janis realised you were watching your favourite movie. Which explained why your eyes were practically glued to the screen. She shrugs, “Cady’s arriving soon.”
“Okay.”
Regina laughs, “Damn, what the kind of movie is she watching for her to be so focused on it?”
“Tangled.”
“What?” Regina chortled, “Tangled?”
“Well, she likes it. Let her enjoy it.” Janis retorted.
“I didn’t say anything about not letting her enjoy her movie.” Regina squinted, “You have syrup on your chin, idiot.”
“Whatever.” Janis shrugs, “I’m still eating, anyway.” Regina grabs a napkin and leaned forward to help Janis clean it off. Janis gives her a childlike grin, mouth full of the chewed up waffle and chicken, “I’m your idiot, though.”
“What is this? Are you like, about to get a sugar rush?” Regina was more amused by her little antic than she expected.
“Maybe.”
“Oh, boy.” Regina sighs, watching the brunette happily munching on the food. “You’re lucky you’re cute.”
Janis rolled her eyes playfully, “Aw, thank you so much.”
The doorbell rings, interrupting their silly banter. “Cady’s here.” Janis declared. “I’ll get the door. She’s um…doing that.” You put down your plate and went to answer the door.
“y/n! Hi!” The redhead gives you a bright smile, you stepped aside to let her enter.
“Hi.” You flashed her a small smile in return.
“I made chicken and waffles. Help yourself.” Regina began, “y/n’s watching Tangled, and Janis is currently giggling to herself because she’s had too much sugar.”
Cady couldn’t help but laugh, especially with how she said it, “Oh, I love Tangled. It’s my favourite movie.“ Your head whipped around so fast to look at her, “It is?”
“Oh, yeah. I haven’t watched many movies, but yes. That’s my favourite one.” She confirms, glancing at you on her way to the kitchen. After getting her share of food, Cady joins you in the living room to watch the movie together with you.
“She likes you, Caddy.” Janis giggles, “Oh, god. I need to stop doing this.”
“Janis!” Your eyes widened, horrified.
“She does this a lot, I’m sure she’s just—” Cady tells you.
“Yeah, she does.” You laughed awkwardly, “But um, Regina said you liked me…?”
Her cheeks flushed a light pink, “Um…” Your heart starts slamming in your chest, waiting for her to respond.
“Yeah, I— I do.” Cady spat out after putting her half-eaten plate of food down, “Do you…”
“Y—” You stuttered, “Yes, I do. I like you, too.”
Janis’ giggling snapped you out of it, “Regina, please don’t tell me you put stuff in her food.”
“Why would I do that? She’s a handful as it is.”Regina laughs, “Okay, that’s it, you’re not eating anymore of this. You are acting like a child.”
You were trying not to laugh, but seeing Janis being babied like this by Regina was far too entertaining to you and Cady.
“Fineee.” Janis huffs. “Take a shower with me.”
Regina’s brows were raised, bewildered. Then her signature smirk was plastered on her face again, “Okay.”
Janis stopped fidgeting, looking at Regina solemnly, “Really?”
“Fuck it, yeah. We’ll let these two babies have their alone time, while we have our fun.” Regina looked at you and Cady then back at Janis. “Will you two be okay alone? Of course, who am I kidding, you guys aren’t kids.”
“We’ll be fine, Regina. Just gonna hang out here.” Cady assured, “You two just…lock your door.”
“Don’t even worry about that.” Regina takes Janis by the wrist and pulled her up. Janis lays her head on Regina’s chest, “Carry me.”
“God, babe. The syrup on your chin is on my shirt.” Regina seethed, but she didn’t stay annoyed for long and just complied, “Fine, clingy. Cady, not a word. To anyone.”

Goodbyes
Charlie Dalton x reader CW: female reader, use of Y/N, angst, Charlie going back to school, brief mention of underage drinking [1.5k words] can you tell i don't want to go to school
Charlie and Y/N had just spent the most amazing summer together. They’d gone to the beach, splashed in the waves until the sun dipped below the horizon, and laughed over melting ice cream cones. They’d snuck into late-night movies, thrown parties that left them both giggling and stumbling over each other in a tipsy haze, eventually passing out in a bathtub because it seemed like a good idea at the time. It had been a summer full of memories and mischief.
But now, with summer winding down, the reality of Charlie’s return to Welton Academy was sinking in. Y/N was in his room, trying to help him pack. It was a disaster zone, with clothes, records, and books scattered everywhere, and a lone suitcase sitting half-open in the middle of the chaos.
“Charlie, you seriously weren’t going to pack like this, were you?” Y/N asked, holding up a wrinkled shirt with a mock look of horror.
Charlie grinned, lounging on the bed as he watched her. “What’s wrong with my method? You just toss everything in, and boom, you’re done. It’s efficient.”
“Efficiently awful,” Y/N shot back, starting to fold the shirt. “You’re hopeless.”
Charlie smirked, rolling onto his side to get a better view of her. “Hopelessly charming, you mean.”
Y/N snorted, tossing a pair of socks at him. “Yeah, charmingly lazy.”
He caught the socks and grinned wider. “You know you love it. Besides, aren’t you the one always saying I need more structure in my life? I’m just giving you something to work with.”
Y/N shook her head, trying to hide her smile. “I’m beginning to think you’re doing this on purpose just to keep me here longer.”
Charlie’s eyes sparkled with mischief. “Maybe I am. What’s it to you?”
“Oh, you’d like that, wouldn’t you?” Y/N teased, picking up another shirt and folding it neatly. “Having me cater to your every need while you just lie there and look pretty.”
“Well, someone’s got to look pretty around here,” Charlie shot back with a wink.
Y/N rolled her eyes, but her cheeks warmed at his teasing. “If you think you can charm your way out of packing, you’re sadly mistaken, Mr. Dalton.”
Charlie sat up, his playful grin never wavering. “You know, I’m pretty good at charming my way into things too. Especially when I’ve got someone like you to sweet-talk.”
Y/N’s heart skipped a beat, but she kept her tone light. “Nice try, but flattery will only get you so far.”
He leaned in closer, his voice dropping to a low murmur. “How far, exactly?”
Y/N felt her pulse quicken. She was used to Charlie’s flirtations, but there was something different in the way he was looking at her now. Something that made it hard to breathe. “Not far enough to get out of packing,” she replied, trying to keep her cool as she handed him a stack of folded shirts.
Charlie chuckled, taking the shirts from her but not breaking eye contact. “Alright, alright, I’ll behave… for now.”
She laughed, the tension easing just a bit, and they both got back to work. Y/N was folding and organizing, while Charlie made half-hearted attempts to help, all the while sneaking glances at her.
But as they continued, the mood slowly shifted. Y/N could sense Charlie’s thoughts were elsewhere, his usual lightheartedness giving way to something more serious.
He wasn’t his usual, carefree self today. There was a tension in the air that Y/N could feel but couldn’t quite place. As she worked, she felt Charlie’s gaze on her, more intense than it had been before. He was always teasing, always flirting, but today it felt different, heavier somehow.
“What’s with the long face?” she asked, trying to lighten the mood. “You’re acting like you don’t want to go back to Welton.”
Charlie hesitated, his hands still on the records. “I don’t,” he admitted, his voice lower than usual. “I mean, I do. But… I don’t want to leave.”
Y/N paused, looking up at him. “Well, you don’t have a choice. It’s Welton. And you’ve got to go back. We’ll still see each other during the holidays.”
“Yeah, but it won’t be the same,” Charlie said, sitting down on the edge of the bed. He ran a hand through his hair, messing it up even more. “This summer… it’s been different. I don’t want it to end.”
Y/N’s heart skipped a beat. She had felt it too. They had been so inseparable, it had felt like nothing else in the world mattered when they were together. But she didn’t want to dwell on it, not now. Not when he was about to leave.
“Hey,” she said, forcing a smile. “We’ll make the most of the time we have left. And we’ll make sure next summer is just as good, if not better.”
Charlie didn’t respond right away. Instead, he stood up and moved closer to her, his gaze locked on hers. “You know, Y/N,” he began, his voice softening in a way that made her nervous, “I’ve been thinking… about us.”
Y/N’s stomach flipped. She had a feeling she knew where this was going, and she wasn’t sure she was ready for it. “Charlie, don’t,” she said quickly, trying to cut him off before he could say more. “We’re having a good time, let’s not ruin it.”
But Charlie wasn’t going to let it go. “No, I need to say this,” he insisted, taking her hands in his. His touch was warm, and she felt a shiver run through her. “I’ve been feeling this for a while now, and I can’t leave without telling you.”
Y/N tried to pull her hands away, but he held on, his grip gentle but firm. “Charlie, please. You don’t have to—”
“I like you, Y/N,” he said, his voice unwavering. “I’ve liked you for a long time. More than just a friend. I didn’t want to admit it because I didn’t want to mess things up between us, but I can’t keep it to myself anymore.”
Y/N’s breath caught in her throat. This was the moment she had secretly hoped for, yet dreaded at the same time. She wanted to say something, to tell him that she felt the same way, that she had been falling for him all summer. But instead, all she could think about was how he had waited until now, the last possible moment, to tell her.
“Why now?” she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. “Why did you wait until the night before you’re leaving to say this?”
Charlie looked pained. “Because I was scared,” he admitted. “I was scared of what it would mean for us. I didn’t want to ruin what we had. But I can’t go back to Welton without you knowing how I feel.”
Y/N shook her head, tears welling up in her eyes. “You had all summer, Charlie. All summer to say something. And now, when you’re about to leave, you drop this on me? What am I supposed to do with that?”
“I don’t know,” Charlie said, his voice cracking. “I just couldn’t keep it inside anymore. I don’t want to lose you.”
“You won’t lose me,” Y/N’s voice began to tremble. “But this… this isn’t fair, Charlie. I don’t know what to do with this. If we start something now, what happens when you’re at Welton? You’ll forget about me.”
Charlie shook his head fiercely. “That’s impossible, Y/N. I’ve been coming back to you since the moment I met you. There’s no way I could ever forget about you.”
Y/N’s heart ached at his words. She wanted to believe him, to throw herself into his arms and tell him that she felt the same way. But the timing was all wrong, and it hurt too much to think about what could happen if things didn’t work out.
“I need to go home,” she said, her voice breaking as she pulled away from him. She couldn’t hold back the tears any longer. “I just… I need some time to think.”
“Y/N, please,” Charlie said, reaching out to her, but she stepped back, shaking her head.
“Goodbye, Charlie. Have fun at school,” she whispered, turning and hurrying out of the room before he could see her break down completely.
Charlie stood there, frozen, as the sound of Y/N’s footsteps faded down the stairs. He looked around his room, at the mess they had been trying to sort through, and suddenly, the weight of everything crashed down on him.
Charlie felt more alone than he ever had before.

Writerly Questionnaire
I got tagged back in my own questionnaire (tysm @saturnine-saturneight), so here we go!
By the way, if you see this and feel up to answering it, please do! I’d also love if you tagged me in your response so I can be sure to read it!
Smol trigger warning for mentions of various tough things.
About You
When did you start writing? I’ve been writing since I could hold a pen, quite frankly! As a toddler, I’d draw doodles then scrawl zig zags beneath to represent the “words” of the illustrated story. They became real words as I learned to read. I was never found without a notebook.
Are the genres/themes you enjoy reading different from the ones you write? I read a lot of stuff I don’t think I could ever actually write. My all-time favorite author is Cormac McCarthy, followed by Jane Austen and Jack London. Larry McMurtry is becoming a fast favorite. My stories tend to require less lived experience. I am not well traveled or thoroughly educated, so, while I’m happy to do research, I most often write stuff that requires less expertise. I also write more about gay cowboys than any of the authors named above — at least as far as is publicly known.
Is there an author (or just a fellow writer!) you want to emulate, or one to whom you’re often compared? I have been compared to Chuck Palahniuk, which is enormously flattering (if not deserved!) It’s massively important to me to have my own style/voice, so I don’t want to write like anyone but me… but I would love one day to harness even a modicum of McCarthy’s talent.
Can you tell me a little about your writing space(s)? (Room, coffee shop, desk, etc.) At a desk or coffee shop. The stars must align just so, my mood must be just so, I must have creative juices flowing and absolutely no distractions or particularly strong feelings. (I end up not writing anything more often than not.)
What’s your most effective way to muster up some muse? I wish I knew. Inspiration hits me light a lightning bolt once in a blue moon. Other than that, maladaptive daydreaming watching head movies. Music is an excellent source of muse.
Did the place(s) you grew up in influence the people and places you write about? Absolutely. In a way that reminds me a bit of Donald Ray Pollock, who writes about a pretty bleak and raunchy Appalachia.
Are there any recurring themes in your writing, and if so, do they surprise you at all? Loneliness, self-loathing, self sabotage, addiction in many forms, mental illness, abuse, and suicidal ideation/thoughts/attempts, “taboo” romances (usually sexuality vs time period). Some of these come as a slight surprise; others are no surprise at all.
Your Characters
Would you please tell me about your current favorite character? (Current WIP, past WIP, never used, etc.) It’s Shiloh. I have no idea why. He’s been my favorite since 2018 or 2019. He’s weird as hell but writing him comes effortlessly.
Which of your characters do you think you’d be friends with in real life? Preferably none. They’re kinda awful. In all seriousness, maybe Lou? He’s chill and makes a good listener.
Which of your characters would you dislike the most if you met them? Ruck. We have nothing in common, would have nothing to talk about, and his poor decisions would stress me out. He’s one of my favorite characters I’ve ever written, but I would hate to actually know him.
Tell me about the process of coming up with of one, all, or any of your characters. Just about every one of my favorites started out as a side character meant to garner very little attention. Somehow or another, they demanded to be written — demanded I let their personalities shine. And lo, here they are.
Do you notice any recurring themes/traits among your characters? Mentally ill lonesome addicts.
How do you picture them? (As real people you imagined, as models/actors who exist in real life, as imaginary artwork, as artwork you made or commissioned, anime style, etc.) As real people! Often I’ll pick a model/actor as a template, but they always evolve into a slightly varied appearance from that person in my imagination.
Your Writing
What’s your reason for writing? It feels so compulsory there’s no other option but to write.
Is there a specific comment or type of comment you find particularly motivating coming from your readers? I like when people tell me what they felt when they read my writing. Whether it’s attachment or hatred aimed at a character, or nostalgia, or just feeling like they were there when the scene took place. Anything that shows they absorbed and enjoyed it feels like the hugest compliment.
How do you want to be thought of by those who read your work? (For example: as a literary genius, or as a writer who “gets” the human condition; as a talented worldbuilder, as a role model, etc.) I want people to think, this bitch loves words. She loves writing. She is a writer.
What do you feel is your greatest strength as a writer? Making people feel endeared to the characters. Realistic dialogue. Getting inside a character’s head.
What have you been frequently told your greatest writing strength is by others? Pacing & setting description. Which is awesome, but I always feel like these things are weaknesses of mine? I’m always iffy about them - pacing in particular. I have no idea how to do it, but I’ve been told I do it well. That said, there are definitely things -I- think I do well that get the most negative feedback/criticism.
How do you feel about your own writing? (Answer in whatever way you interpret this question.) Writing is the only thing I feel I do relatively well. I’m certainly not the world’s best, and I don’t think I’m really ready to be published or anything like that - but I am pretty proud of it. It’s the only thing I feel this way about. I want to show it to people. I wanna talk about it. I love to read what I wrote. It feels gross to say that, but I’m making myself say it anyway, lmfao. I love to see other people feel this way vs anxious or self conscious about their writing.
If you were the last person on earth and knew your writing would never be read by another human, would you still write? Yeah, for sure. I don’t know if I’d write as much fiction, because part of the fun is talking with others about it. But I’d still journal, and I would still imagine stories in my mind.
When you write, are you influenced by what others might enjoy reading, or do you write purely what you enjoy? If it’s a mix of the two, which holds the most influence? I hate this question, wtf Davy. It’s a slight mix. I’ll admit a part of me wants validation from others, but a larger part would rather write what she wants to write than turn it into a chore. Doing something just to entertain others is definitely a chore. My writing is heavily self-indulgent and I think it may suffer a little from that - but it also means when people enjoy it, they enjoy it more. I think it’s the same for any writer who does it this way. When I belonged to a huge online critique group, I edited the life out of a novel I was working on and made it less enjoyable to its biggest fans while trying to net a larger audience. I now know that was a huge mistake, because having a tiny group of people who eat your shit up is way better than having a ton of people read it, approve of it, but ultimately forget it existed because it wasn’t memorable.

hello jess...did i mention how much I want to thank you for blessing us with an exciting kinktober event? guess I didn't?
i'm really curious to know more about you well guess we all are haha!
Hellooo!! Thank you so much UwU.
more about me, I guess? I’m not the best at introducing myself to people. Honestly, I’m the kind of person who’d spend days making a whole introductory PDF about myself and just sending it to anyone who wants to know me better!
ENTJ | Gemini Rising | Gemini Sun | Taurus Moon
You’d think I’d be super extroverted, right? Nah, I’m more of an ambivert. Lately, I’ve been really enjoying my quality alone time more than ever. You’ll usually find me in the mornings waking up early, sipping coffee at my favorite café near the office while diving into a good book. In the evenings, I’m either cooking, watching a great movie, or writing some fics with soft music playing in the background. It’s my little routine, and I love it
I lean towards the feminine side, but my wardrobe is super versatile. I'm absolutely weak for suits, elegant casual dresses, and depending on my mood, you might catch me in gothic, rock, or grunge fits. The one thing that’s constant? Black and burgundy are my go-tos. Oh, and I’m 5'3 *yes, people think I'm taller*
career wise? Believe it or not, I majored in Japanese, but I’ve been working for a year in the medical field! I'm a medical practice manager for a gynaecologist and suboncologist. My work persona? Perfectionist, fast-paced, and problem-solver extraordinaire (I've got cute awards for leadership, problem-solving, and fast surgery bookings. it's so cute jsiwjej).
Outside of work, I’m obsessed with reading—my library is my sanctuary. Oh, and I paint a lot too; I need to bring out my stashed canvases asap fr..I also sing, mostly opera-like songs, and have been on stage multiple times.
I have a deep passion for video games as well. I’m currently obsessed with Dishonored, Elden Ring, Ghost of Tsushima, and Lies of P.
Things i hate? shallow people and foolishness are major turn-offs. I thrive on intellectual conversations and prefer depth over superficiality. Also wannabes give me the ick—let’s keep it real. Chaotic and dramatic individuals can be a drain, as I’m all about seeking peace. But if my bestie calls me at 3 am to spill the tea on some drama or how she omg-accidently got back with her ex, I’m all ears sweets no judgement xx.
I guess that's pretty much it? Let me know if you'd like to know more about me though.

“Whatcha reading, ______?” Swiss slithered into your nook in the ministry library, and the charming bastard reclined on your desk, grinning at you. The library liked dark woods and the scent of paper; the stained glass windows kept you warm as you sunned yourself against Autumn’s early chill.
“I’m studying for my next sermon, but I’m pretty sure you already knew that,” you gave him a sidelong look.
He only grinned wider with too many teeth, as he did when he was about to bring chaos.
Your tail flickered in his direction. He was a handsome shit. He had dark grey blemishless skin and scruffy cheeks, and he wore a half knot of dreads, leaving the rest to frame his chest. He looked like a trickster god. Eyes black peeled and waiting for the next opening to run with. “What do you want, Swiss?”
“Can’t a pack-mate check on his favourite cardinal?”
Not when a certain pack-mate had the glint in his eye that he usually did. “How are you causing upheaval today?”
“Up-upheaval? Me?” He gripped his chest as if wounded.
You arched a brow. Did you really have to explain yourself? He was the loudest of your pack, the most animated when speaking, and always had a story of how he had gotten up to absolutely no good in hell. Known to have stolen from the princes, known to have taken Mammon’s wife in Mammon’s own bed—known for that grin and all it might entail.
“Right, maybe that is on brand, but I promised I’m on my best behaviour,” he showed all ten of his clawed fingers defensively. “I was just wondering if you wanted dinner with me tonight—alright, maybe there is some ‘upheaval’ on my mind—I have procured a large amount of hard liquor, and I’ve been hanging out to watch this movie Sodo said was funny, uh, ‘Velocipastor’.”
“You have to know Sodo has no fucking taste in movies.”
“Hence the alcohol,” he nodded and grinned, “Meal’s on me; I’m cooking.”
“So there will be reapers in my food again?”
“Naw, that was an honest mistake… I thought, ‘It’s the mortal plane, how fucking hot can it be’?”
You grimaced. “I’m sorry, my love, I would and maybe next week… no, it’s gotta be the week after because of ritual Saturday… then there’s…” you shook your head. “Autumn,” you shrugged, “so fucking busy.” You sunk at your desk.
“Ah, I know,” he sighed dramatically. The guy knew how to mope gorgeously. “I’ve missed you in my bed,” he pouted.
He’d be the death of you. “I have learnt that Sodo is very good for venting frustrations out on.”
“I have more than frustration for you, Sweetheart.”
“Oh, I’m sure you do,” you cracked a smile.
He grinned right alongside you until it fell, “I didn’t see you at breakfast, ______, you’ve been eating, right?”
“Yeah,” you waved off.
Dark lids fluttered a blunt blink.
“I’m a big ghoul, Swiss.”
“Sometimes a fucking wonder about that,” he muttered and stole a chaste kiss, brushing the rough of his cheek against yours. “I’ll see you later, hm? Don’t stress about the sermon; yours are always the best.”
“Not biased at all?”
“No, it’s true, I fall asleep in the other ones or try to choke myself to death or…”
You chuckled; you’d seen him do that with his guitar strap. “You aren’t choking yourself for death, you fucking monster.”
“Ah, but you know the French, huh? La petite mort?”
You shook your head.
“Perhaps ask Rain,” he winked and sauntered away.
“I love you, Swiss,” you called.
“Right back at you, Sweetheart,” he responded.
You would ask Rain about ‘La petite mort’, passing him in the hallway. The question left him stammering and blushing hard. Ah, Swiss; ever sewing little seeds of chaos in his wake.
***
“Sweetheart?”
You jolted awake from your desk, “Fuck! Papa, sorry… is it time for the ritual? I’ve… I’ve got most of it done—I just need to… to… Ah, Swiss…” your shoulders relaxed. The dread-head ghoul stood in your office with a ceramic bowl in his hand. You peered out the window behind you and rubbed the drool from your face. It was dark; last you checked, it had been five, the day had left you behind, and it was then eight forty. You had to have a desk-shaped imprint on your face. You groaned. You still had a day before the sermon. “Thanks for waking me, hun—was there something you needed?” you blinked at your writing, trying to make sense of the papers on your desks again.
“You weren’t at dinner, ______,” his tone was something you’d never heard from him. Low, on the edge of dangerous. “I haven’t seen you in the dining hall for the past week and a half.”
“I’ve just been busy; I grab from the kitchen… usually… sorry I haven’t been about to see you much, my love.”
“When was the last time you ate?” His voice, again, was dark.
A sudden chill ran up your arms. “Uh.. we’re ghouls, so it’s not a big deal…”
“_______,” he warned.
“Yesterday, what’s gotten into you, Swiss?”
Dark eyes narrowed. He wasn’t grinning. He stepped closer and shifted the papers from your desk with a swift sweep of his arm.
“What the fuck? Swiss,” you growled, standing.
“Sit.” He snarled in a way that tore through you, placing the bowl where your papers had been.
“Swiss…” You didn’t sit. You stood back, ready to collect your papers from the ground.
The other ghoul was quicker. He shoved you back down in your chair. You hadn’t seen him move like that since the last time the clergy went to holy war years ago. “Eat,” he commanded.
“What the fuck, Swiss?” you hissed up at him.
“I’m not playing here, Sweetheart.”
“And you think I am?” You spat.
“Your research isn’t going anywhere; you can get on your knees and pick them up after. For now, eat.”
Your nose wrinkled in a snarl, but you couldn’t deny you were hungry. The bowl was filled with a Mountain’s worth of pasta. The noodles looked handmade. He’d made it for you. “Fine,” you muttered. “You don’t have to be a dick about it.”
“Evidently I do,” he growled, perched on your desk to watch you.
You studied Swiss for a while; you hadn’t known him to be so dominant. You had no idea what had gotten into him. You supposed you should eat anyway. You approached the food with the fork and messily ate some—ghouls were not known for their table manners. Hell left you with little to no etiquette, as etiquette was for the privileged, minor demons gorged on what they could fucking get. You moaned around a mouthful of pasta. Swiss was getting good with his cooking.
“I know it’s fucking good,” he growled from your side, sitting taller and looking down on you from your desk.
You were suddenly self-conscious about your eating, self-conscious in a way no ghoul generally was. Swiss was watching you. Watching the sauce dribble your chin. Eyes devouring how much you could fit in your mouth and the way you swallowed what he had made for you.
“Uh-Swiss, hun.”
“No speaking, let me enjoy this.”
What the fuck was happening? Was he getting off on you enjoying the food he’d made for you? You gave him an incredulous look.
“I like filling your belly in any way I can, _____,” his voice was gravel, and he was dead serious.
You couldn’t look at him and couldn’t seem to stop eating either. For one, the pasta had the perfect bouncy texture, and the sauce had to be made from scratch. And secondly, your hunger crashed in on you all at once—you had forgotten what it was to be hungry for a moment. Much to Swiss’s approval, you cleaned the bowl.
“Good bean for finishing, ______.”
“I’m sorry, what the fuck?” You scoffed.
“Don’t pretend me treating you like this doesn’t make you wet, Sweetheart, we’re ghouls—I can smell it on you.”
You frowned. Just as you had forgotten to hunger, you had forgotten to want. Ghouls could barely keep their hands off each other and the clergy, and it had been… at least a month since you had anyone. Oh, shit, he wasn’t wrong. “You’re enjoying this a little too much.”
“Sweetheart…” Swiss began, stepping from the table and gently placing the empty plate on the floorboards and out of his warpath. “You’ve been away from my bed for too long, and you haven’t been looking after yourself—I’m afraid I will have to punish you.”
You scanned over the trickster’s face, and you couldn’t find a joke there. You swallowed. “Swiss?”
“On the desk, facing me. Now.”

Warnings: Depression, hurt/comfort, slightly angsty, disordered eating, the Reader and Elsbeth are watching a horror movie so brief mentions of violence and murder, brief mentions of alcohol.
Summary: Reader hasn't been taking very good care of herself lately, and Elsbeth wants to help out.
I didn’t realize until around 6:30pm that I hadn’t eaten all day. It wasn’t even intentional, I had just forgotten. And this wasn’t the first day I had forgotten to eat either, yesterday the first meal of my day was the ice cream cone that Elsbeth had brought home from work.
This wasn’t the only thing troubling me, either. Lately, even brushing my teeth every day was a chore.
Of course, I tried to hide this from Elsbeth, as it seemed like I had so many problems all the time, and I felt like I was just weighing her down with them.
And of course, today of all days, when I hadn’t eaten all day, was a day that Elsbeth just wouldn’t stop talking to me. It didn’t annoy me, I just worried that she would get worried about me.
As usual, she came up to me with a huge grin on her face, the one that made my heart melt.
“Hey there, I was just wondering if you wanted to go watch a movie with me! I have the perfect one picked out, it’s a horror movie.” She offered.
“Oh, sure.” And like that, the thought of food completely slipped out of my mind.
We went into my room and put on the movie. I leaned my head against Elsbeth’s shoulder, sighing in contentment.
Elsbeth looked over at me and chuckled, “You like this movie?”
“So far it’s interesting.” I shrugged.
“Just wait, it gets really good!”
We watched the movie in silence for a bit, before a scare happened and I jumped, my head bumping Elsbeth’s shoulder on accident, “Sorry about that…” I said sheepishly.
Elsbeth chuckled, “Aww, that’s alright. Yeah this movie is pretty scary, or at least the scares are loud…”
“Yeah.”
“I still can’t believe she didn’t look in the basement!” She groaned, shaking her head.
“If I were hearing creepy moaning noises coming from the basement, I probably wouldn’t go look! Could be some scary ghost or something.”
“Orrrr it could be the people the farmer trapped in there calling out for help, and you just ignored them cause you have no heart!” Elsbeth teased.
“How am I supposed to know the farmer uses people to make the meat he sells? He seemed like such a pious dude!”
“Well, one thing I’ve learned from defending many guilty people, is that when someone tries to act all holier than thou, they likely have something they’re hiding.” She explained, “And why would your mind even go to ghosts that quickly, anyway? Even I don’t watch that many horror movies!”
“I dunnoooo, why are you attacking me, Elsbeth?” I pouted.
“Awww, I’m sorry. Do you want an apology hug?” She asked. I nodded eagerly and she wrapped her arms around me tight, pulling me in close.
“You’re so warm…” I mumbled.
“Well, humans are warm blooded animals!”
I giggled, “That is true…” She pulled back, but kept one arm wrapped around my shoulder.
“What do you think you’d do in that situation?” She asked when the farmer was playing hide and seek with the protagonist.
“Uhhh, probably beat the farmer’s ass and stab him with his own rake.” I gloated.
Elsbeth laughed, “Okay, but what would you really do?”
“Man, I dunno, probably cry too loud and get killed immediately!”
“Awww, but joking aside I think you would do great! You’re really brave and stronger than you think, y’know?”
“You’re just saying that.” I rolled my eyes.
“Of course I’m not just saying that!” She nudged me playfully, “I mean it, you’re way too hard on yourself.”
“Well…” I looked down, my cheeks slightly pink, “I’m glad someone believes in me.” I chuckled, trying to lighten the mood.
“You’re so silly.” Elsbeth reached over and poked my cheek. I giggled once more, slapping her hand away.
Finally the movie was over, and I got up, stretching, “Man, that was a good movie.” But while I was stretching, I noticed that I felt slightly weak and shaky, and remembered that I still needed to eat. I groaned, annoyed at my own forgetfulness. It had to be what, 8pm now?
Elsbeth shot me a concerned look, “You okay?”
“Yeah… I just, ugh I’m really hungry.” I sighed, pinching the bridge of my nose.
“When did you last eat?”
“Uhhh, 3pm.” I cringed at my own voice shaking, making it obvious I was lying.
Elsbeth sighed, “Are you sure about that?”
I groaned, “I really can’t get anything past you, can I?”
Elsbeth shook her head, “Nope. Now when did you really last eat?”
“Last night.”
She rushed over to me, “Oh no, is everything okay?” She put her hands on my shoulders as she looked me up and down, a look of deep concern on her face.
“Yeah, I just… forgot.”
“That’s not good… Do you want me to make something for you? And other than that, have you been feeling okay lately?” Her voice lowered on that last sentence.
“No.” I sighed, “I’ve uh… been feeling kind of depressed.”
“Oh dear, I wish you had told me. I would have been perfectly okay with helping in any way I can.” Her hands rubbed up and down my arms.
“I didn’t want to burden you, I already have so many problems all the time, and I didn’t want to weigh you down.”
“Nonsense, honey… you wouldn’t have been weighing me down, I’m perfectly happy to help. Come here…” She engulfed me in a hug. I squeezed my eyes shut, the hunger and mixed emotions too painful for me. Elsbeth noticed me shaking, and rubbed up and down my back, “You don’t have to do this alone… Please let me help you.”
“You would really do that?” My voice cracked as I spoke, revealing my vulnerability in that moment.
“I would do that and more.” She said with a confidence in her voice that soothed me deeply.
“Alright…”
She pulled back, “First of all, let me make you something to eat. What do you have?” She asked.
“Uhh, honestly not much. But there are supplies to make my favorite meal, if that’s alright.” I rubbed the back of my neck, a little embarrassed to be asking.
“Of course it is. No need to ask, I’ll make it pronto.” She patted my shoulders and quickly rushed to the kitchen, gathering the supplies needed to make my favorite meal. I sat down at the dining table, feeling a little guilty that I made her do this for me. She must have sensed this, and looked over, a reassuring smile on her face, “And don’t feel guilty about this, okay? I’m choosing to make this for you, because I like making you happy. It’s no sweat off my back!”
I smiled gratefully at her, “Thank you.”
“Of course, honey. Just relax and look forward to the meal.” She continued making the food, and eventually served it up to me. I started scarfing it down, not realizing just how hungry I was until I tasted the food. Elsbeth smiled at me warmly, “I love seeing you happy. I wanna make you this happy all the time.”
“What did I do to deserve someone as amazing as you?” I wondered aloud.
“You were you.” She poked my shoulder playfully, “And you are perfect.”
“Nobody’s perfect.” I smiled, rolling my eyes.
“I guess you’re nobody then.” She winked at me.
“Wow, I never thought being called a nobody could be so romantic.” I said.
“Yeah, now that I think about it that did come out a little wrong…”
“Nah, it came out perfect. Just like you.”
“Really? I thought ‘nobody’s perfect’.” Elsbeth repeated my words back to me.
“Well, I guess you’re also nobody, which makes us perfect for each other.” I said.
“Wow, that was smooth.”
“Thanks, but yours was better.”
“Now…” I had finished my food, and looked up at her waiting for her to continue, “Have you brushed your teeth today?”
“Uhhh, yeah.”
“Hmm, I don’t think you did.” She said confidently.
“Fine, I didn’t. You know me so well.” I groaned.
“Why don’t we go do that, then?” She held out her hand, and I took it, following her to the bathroom.
I grabbed the toothbrush, and brushed my teeth.
“You know what I think would help? A bubble bath. With wine, and candles.” Elsbeth offered.
“Hmmm I suppose.”
Elsbeth drew a bath for me, and set everything up. I undressed and got into the tub, sinking down into the warm water. “Wow, this is the perfect temperature…”
“See? I know you too well, don’t I?” Elsbeth had a cheeky grin on her face, and I shook my head, smiling lazily.
“God, I love you.” I said.
“Awww, I love you too.”
I cleaned myself in the bath, and afterwards just relaxed, enjoying the warm water that soothed my tense muscles.
After I got out of the tub, Elsbeth gave me a warm and fuzzy robe, “I think you need some rest now… Why don’t I take you to bed.”
“Sure!” I said.
“Alright, come on.” She led me to my room, and I laid down. She tucked me in, giving me a gentle kiss on the forehead. “Goodnight, honey.”
“Aren’t you gonna come to bed with me?” I asked.
“Well, I guess I could…”
“Yayy!” Elsbeth got into bed next to me, and I laid my head on her chest. She wrapped an arm around me.
“Sleep tight…” She closed her eyes, and I followed suit, listening to the sound of her heartbeat, letting it lull me to sleep.

My Birthday
March 24, 2002
I am fifteen today.
I have not written in a while. I haven’t had time.
Sam has been gone for a month. It’s just been me, Dean, and dad. It’s been tense. Dad’s been drinking a lot. He’s been angrier than usual.
He said I didn’t have time to waste on writing stories, so I stopped. I wonder why he even bothered giving me this journal.
Dean hasn’t been the same after Sam left either. I guess none of us have. But Dean was the same with me, at least. But I could still see sadness in his eyes. Like it was his fault somehow. I never say anything about it, I just talk a little sweeter to him and hug him a little tighter. I think it helps.
With dad I’ve just been trying to get more enthusiastic about hunting. I’m trying to be his perfect hunter. Even though I’ll never compare to Dean. Or Sam. We never talk about Sam, and dad is still angry, no matter what I do.
I’m only writing today because it’s my birthday, and dad isn’t here.
Dad left three days ago. He said he’d be back for my birthday, but he called Dean this morning and said it was going to take a few more days. He didn’t mention my birthday. I heard the whole conversation. Dean thought I was asleep, and when he woke me up, he told me dad called to say happy birthday and told him to take me to a nice dinner and a movie. He didn’t say that, but I smiled at Dean and acted happy anyway.
“Where do you want to go, pipsqueak?” Dean asked me, ruffling my hair.
I hesitated. This was my chance to have any kind of day I wanted.
“I think I’d just rather go practice my shooting, Dean.”
His face seemed to drop. “Babygirl, it’s your birthday. We can do anything you want!” he encouraged.
“I know. That’s what I want to do.”. I smiled.
“Ana c’mon. Dad isn’t here.” He insisted.
“Yeah but, I like shooting, and I was sloppy on my last hunt. I could use the practice.”
Dean looked sad.
“But… can we go get some pie afterwards for dinner? Instead of a cake.” I smiled again. That finally got him in a better mood.
“That’s my girl!” he exclaimed, slapping the bed and standing up.
I don’t like pie. I never really have, but it makes Dean happy, so I pretend I do so I can cheer him up sometimes by asking for it. I didn’t really want to go shooting either, but I know it would make dad happy, and even better than that, it would make him proud.
They needed the mood boost more than I did.
So Dean and I went and grabbed some breakfast, then spent the day at the shooting range. I perfected my shot on Dean’s revolver, which I always loved to shoot, the kickback just always threw me off.
On our way to pick up an apple pie, Dean struck up a conversation.
“You didn’t really want to go shooting for your birthday, did you?”
I thought hard about what to tell him.
“Maybe not. But I want dad to be proud of me. And I wanted to spend the day with you. So it’s been a pretty good birthday.” I smiled softly at him, but the smile didn’t reach my eyes.
“Ana, you know dad is always proud of you, right?” He asked.
I didn’t say anything. I just listened to the hum of the engine and the soft song that was playing on low volume.
“Ana?..” he sounded softer.
“Hm?”
“You know I’M always proud of you, right?” He asked me, looking over to me for a moment.
My smile is real that time.
“Yeah, Dean. I know.”
He’s silent for just a moment, then, “happy birthday, kiddo.”.
I look at him. He’s beaming with pride at me. I reach to turn the music up.
“Hush. I love this song.” I say. He laughs.
We sang along to “Wanted Dead Or Alive” the rest of the way to the diner, laughing at each other.
Once the pie was finished, we went back to our motel and watched Scooby-Doo until we were falling asleep.
Dad texted Dean close to midnight.
-Case near you. I’ll call with details. You leave tomorrow.
Dean lets me read it, and I hide any annoyance at the lack of a “happy birthday, Ana.”.
-Ok
is all Dean texts back. I asked to text him too.
-Ready for the next case. I love you, dad. ~Ana
-8500 Washington Ave
is all he texts back.
Dean just took the phone back quietly.
“I’m gonna hit the hay, kid.” He tells me.
“Okay. I think I’ll study a bit and then get to bed. Is that okay?” I lie. Dean still thinks this journal is used for research and studying.
“Whatever you want, princess.”. He rolls over and closes his eyes.
“I love you, Dean.” I mutter.
“I love you too, Ana-banana.” He says, promptly following it with some light snores.
It was a good birthday.
~Ana Winchester

Yeah, also since I read manga weekly, any spoiler that I do see usually isn’t major like that one. It really did. And like I said, I was with extended family and it was so difficult not to cry as much as I wanted to and I only managed to keep myself calm with the thought that there might be more to it, it might not be final beause he really is just such a fun character. That’s so nice to hear and I’m also excited to see you write about them 😃 Yeah, other people also predict autumn at the latest and it would make the most sense considering everything that’s happening in the story. Yeah, same here. Like I do really love the series and am always excited to read a new chapter every Friday evening (when there’s no break), it’s pretty much become my routine to read it after dinner, but even though I love it dearly and will probably at some point rewatch the anime, I wouldn’t say I love it as much as some of the other series out there. And I see. And that might also explain why I don’t love it as much as some other series out there beause of that.
From what I saw after a quick search, both Persona 3 and 4 have less than 100 chapters. Sure thing. Oh, that’s unfortunate to hear. I’m sorry that happened and hope that you’re still able to rest properly at some point. But still glad to hear that you’re doing well ☺ I see. And it is a nice thing that it lets you take a break from things since I feel like for a decent amount of people, it probably is. Thank you for saying that. Since I could look it up, I did a quick search and the manga of D. Gray-Man is still ongoing. Oh that’s a good mood to be in. It’s funny though beause I finished the Swordsmith Village Arc a few days ago so we might’ve been watching the series around the same time or might’ve swapped around. Again, saving you a Google search beause this girl knows it just from what’s in her head. The Mugen Train season isn’t Crunchyroll screwing up beause those 7 episodes actually aired before the actual second season (The Entertainment District Arc which is 11 episodes). It’s the movie’s plot, but with some added scenes, plus the first episode is entirely new stuff, and when I did my rewatch, I watched both because yeah, both are done beautifully in their own ways. That’s also an important thing to do. I see. Yeah, I also really like that character and I do think that I love him and Sanemi equally, at least I said so at some point, beause they’re both just so great in their own ways. And since we’re talking about the movie here, this is the movie that made me upset a few weeks ago that I was talking in our DMs about. And yeah, hopefully now that I’ve explained it, you can go on to watch yet another great season. Yeah, true to what you’re saying about Avatar. Yeah, same. Like Toph is my girl and I was just looking forward to seeing her again when I was doing the rewatch and like I don’t think I have an actual proper favourite beause I love all of the main gang for who they are. They’re just all so great.
Yeah. A part of me wants to say more but I won’t in case of any kind of spoilers but it’s a well-told story until the very end. Yeah. Like the only ‘extra’ stuff we get is those extra scenes from the Mugen Train season and the stuff I was fangirling to you about in our DMs. Yeah, understandable. And after you’ve watched it all, if you still want to hear Genya in Japanese, I could find some of my favourite moments of him. Though there is one scene (apart from his first scene in the Swordsmith Village arc which was just so very Bakugou. Like what he said is something Bakugou says very often) that I’m thinking of so yeah, if you want to hear him in Japanese, I’ll give you the episode and the time stamp after you’ve watched it all. No problem. Yeah, it’s very clear beause even though it’s all clearly the final arc, there’s still a clear division between the two mini-arcs. I hope not. Like as much as I love the movies, I don’t think they’d be able to do those 22 chapters justice. Like the Mugen Train was 13 chapters to give an idea and that movie was almost two hours long so it would have to be a very long movie and considering what happens (not that I remember everything), we do need breathers. But yeah, I do understand your dislike towards the tentacles but I do feel like that’s probably the worst. Yeah, Genya’s first scene isn’t his best moment, like Nemi’s first moments actually, but like with Sanemi you do kind of get to understand why he was being such a dick and was so inpatient at that point when you learn his story. And yay to that. And when you do, just tell me all your thoughts beause he’s just so great and precious and deserves all the love 😭
Yay. That arc takes place a few episodes after the Tenrou Island arc and Sting’s first appearance is the episode after that arc’s done to give you an idea of when it takes place. No problem at all ☺ I see. Will you watch the whole of Beyblade then? Like go from the original to the Metal Saga? Thank you. I finished A Sign of Affection and it was nice. But yeah, even though I liked watching it and the couple was cute, I guess I would have liked more development. Like there’s this one very romance centred anime and it’s just one couple, but there’s still slight misunderstanding that the guy the girl is actually interested in thinks that she’s into his really good looking and all around amazing best friend (who I till this day will headcanon as aro ace) but she’s absolutely into the main guy and it’s just so cute and sweet and sure I haven’t rewatched it sine first seeing it but it definitely left a good impression on me. It’s called Ore Monogatari or My Love Story if you’re interested. But yeah, now it’s onto Tokyo Revengers and then finally Iruma-kun.
Yeah and believe me when I say that I was worried that they wouldn’t properly adapt the main backstory that takes place during this match. And thank you for the understanding. I’m not sure yet to what extent it will be a let down but it really was such an important match, probably the most important math considering it’s been set-up sine the very first season. Really and I hope they don’t beause they teased what the next movie would be about, another important Karasuno match in a different way, but on that same day there’s another match that’s also really important beause my owl boy has such, such amazing moments during that math (and I love what he says before the match even starts) and his backstory is shown in it and I just hope that one day the studio will say ‘Actually we will not only adapt this match properly but also everything that we did in the movies and of course the time-skip’ beause sure, everything is important, but that match showed a glimpse into Bokuto’s development and I really do fear that we’ll never see it animated. Funny thing is also when it comes down to that Bokuto match I sent a screenshot of a moment of him and literally was like ‘I will cry when this is animated’ so maybe the studio saw it and was like “Okay, we’ll never animate it then”. And true. Like I said about the Mugen Train movie, that was 13 chapters and the movie was almost two hours long. Yay 😄 Be excited. And that’s great to hear about you appreciating all their characterisations and be free to say anything you want about it all in our DMs when you get to responding to me. Thank you so much for all of that. Yeah, we definitely do get to see all the Hashira fighting at some point, and some do get to shine more than others and that’s probably why we got that extra scene in the latest movie I went to, to show a bit of two Hashira fighting before the final arc. I see. Yay 😄 Really glad to hear that. I’ve been doing pretty well. Saw some Doctor Who episodes today, the first ones with the Master and he’s such a fun character to watch. Though a few days ago at my latest physio appointment my physiotherapist said something which I didn’t especially like and now it just won’t leave my mind. Like I mentioned while we were talking about stuff that since I’m disabled, I probably won’t be called in to do certain things and first she was shocked that I’d even use that word to describe myself which was yeah, whatever since I don’t generally have any reason to, but then later she said that I’m not as disabled as other people and that’s stuck in my head since since of course I know that, but I’m still much less abled than other people around and I know she never sees me at my worst but it still stings and I know it’d be weird to bring it up again to her so I just wanted to say it here in hopes of it helping in leaving my mind. But yeah, apart from that, been doing pretty well. Have done some more of my diamond painting and put all my Bokuto anime screenshots in order and really do love all the expressions he makes. They’re just so funny and nice. He’s such a gift and I’m really so grateful for him.

I’m glad that most spoilers you see are relatively minor, being a weekly reader. I’m definitely not. I’m usually either rereading series that I’ve read before and forget a lot of what happened in them or I’m reading completed series. There’s only a couple I follow that are still ongoing, and I tend to forget to catch up with them for a couple weeks or such and binge the chapters that I missed. I’m horrible at keeping up with a lot of things. It sucks that you got such a massive spoiler in a situation where you could do nothing about the information. I don’t think I could’ve stayed calm and I would have had to excuse myself to go read real quick and then would’ve been upset the rest of the night, so you handled it really well! And I can definitely see the argument for autumn, so we’re just going to have to wait and see, I guess. I didn’t know the manga updates on Fridays, so that was fun to learn. Thank you for that. It’s also interesting to hear that you kind of see some of my points and feel the same way in some regards. It’s really comforting to hear that and I feel really relieved reading that.
Yeah, both anime and manga wise, Persona isn’t too long. I’m just saving up money so I won’t feel guilty splurging on the Steam versions of the games, because I’ve really gotten interested and want to give the actual games a try! And thank you for that. I’ll admit to getting very little proper rest lately, but on the other hand, I’ve been being really productive and that’s always a great feeling to have. Accomplishment is always a feeling I really enjoy and aim to get, so while I’m trading some rest and relaxation, I still feel good about it. Thank you so much for the saved Google searches and I find it amazing that D. Gray-Man is still ongoing. I’m wondering if the manga went on hiatus or something, because it’s been years since I read it and I remember thinking it had to be pretty close to wrapping up! In terms of Demon Slayer, I’ve finished up to the end of the Swordsmith Village Arc, so all the episodes that Crunchyroll has. I haven’t watched more than the first movie though, because Crunchyroll doesn’t have that but can I just reiterate – I’m so pissed off my manga app doesn’t have the manga because I really want to read it. I want so much more story and hopefully some more character development, since I feel there’s a lot more that is going to happen and I feel like the anime might be cutting out small moments because of pacing and such. I’m just intensely curious as to where everything is heading and why certain characters are the way they are and I always feel I get better handles on that through reading than through watching. That being said, I have a couple minor complaints, but overall, I really enoyed it. Thanks again for the recommendation! I’m mostly just pissed I don’t have more of it, hahaha! I honestly can’t think of any of the Avatar characters I truly hated, because even the villains were largely really well done.
Thank you for avoiding spoilers – unless it was in the movies though, I’m pretty sure I’m caught up on the anime? Now, it’s funny because I was just complaining about fillers, but I enjoyed the little ‘fillers’ at the end of the episodes of Demon Slayer, I just want to put that out there. Also, Haganezuka is now my husband, just saying it. He amuses me so much and I just adore him. I will definitely take hearing Genya in Japanese, if you wanna send me any of your favourite moments through dm’s! Especially if, like you said, there are scenes where you can really connect the voices to the different characters! I hadn’t realized the movies covered so few chapters so I do take back my statement then, because yeah, that was a long movie, covered a lot well, but a movie definitely couldn’t be made out of that many chapters then, since I think most fans are not Lord of the Rings loyal to the point where they’d sit through a four hour long movie. Heck, I don’t think even I would do that for much else besides LotR! I genuinely wish I was learning more about both Genya and Sanemi, and I know more about them has to be uncovered later on and I’m hoping they’ll both get focus on them after this arc as well, because I really feel we’re just barely scraping the surface here! They introduced a lot of characters we’d just barely seen before in the arc and it felt like none of them really got the focus that they should have gotten for us to properly know them, just going anime only.
Oh, that is helpful to know! I’m probably going to speedread through Fairy Tail and then watch the anime, so I’ll meet Sting via manga first, though I’m excited to also hear all the characters since I remember having really strong voice ideas for a few of them when I first read some of it way back when. As for Beyblade, I’ll give each series a try, but I’ll probably skip any series that don’t catch my attention within four episodes – I always try to give animated shows at least two hours before I decide if I’m interested and like them or not. I’m glad you enjoyed A Sign of Affection! I actually know of Ore Monogatari! I keep getting recommended it and honestly, it does seem like a romance I might actually enjoy, so it’s on my watchlist though it’s not the first one I decide to watch any time I’m flicking through that list! We actually might be watching Tokyo Revengers at the same time then, since it’s my next anime! I hope we both enjoy it 😊
Wait, it was that important of a match? Like, there’d been build up for it since that early and they did all the fans dirty by not giving that match a full movie entirely focused on it? That seems really frigging awful, not even going to lie. I hope, if the movie is indeed about that, that the important Karasuno match is the movie and then you get an arc for Bokuto and that match, including episodes showing his backstory. To me, just as a creator, that is the way I’d go – a movie for the big match and then a three to four short arc dedicated to the smaller match with Bokuto’s team. I’m also really glad to hear that we get to see all the Hashira fighting at some point, because I am curious about some of them and kind of really hope for some more Giyu moments, not going to lie.
I’m so, so angry at your physiotherapist though. If you feel, because you know your body best, that you’re disabled in some way, then you are and her treating you that way is inexcusable. Knowing you like I do, I can also safely say that I adore you but yeah, I agree with you, I do also consider you as someone who has a disability. I also think you handle it amazingly well, are gracious in the face of it, and really admire how kind you are even dealing with everything you do. Don’t let that twatface of a physiotherapist get you down. If I could, I would take their kneecaps. I’m sorry my reply came so late and I hope you’re doing as well as can be expected! Hugs!

Hiya I’d like to take part in your match up event? I absolutely adore y’all’s blog btw! I’d like to get matched up with a papa!
I’m a 21 year old trans man, 5’3(and a half with my combat boots on) And I’m built like a hairy stickbug, (T has made me hairy but I love it) I’ve got short slightly curly brown hair and brown eyes. I’m calm but hyper sometimes if the mood is right (I get the zoomies). I’ve been called a housecat in human form by a friend. I have terrible social anxiety and deal with depression and am often told to speak up (T has made my voice grumbly, but I sort of mumble/talk quiet). I’ve got a bad knee that causes me bouts of terrible pain after days of heavy work. I love making art, caring for my houseplants, gardening, flipping over rocks to look at bugs, watching horror movies, headbanging to metal and reading. I can’t live without coffee in the morning but love relaxing with a cup of tea and a good book on rainy days. My love language is acts of service and physical touch, but I’m a huge sucker for praise (please just tell me I’m a good boy, or that you are proud of me) I’m a Satanist and often leave little offerings of flowers or herbs on my altar. Even though I have social anxiety I am usually the “he asked for no pickles” friend, my friends say if I get mad I death stare, like a small angry dog, I’ll bite your ankles 😂
Your match is… Primo!
Every morning he brings you a cup of coffee.
If there is time, you'll sit in bed drinking your cofee together and talking about the day ahead.
Often if you have the zoomies, he'll watch you run around the garden, while he calmly gets on with his work. He smiles happy to see you so energetic.
Every now and then he'll also have a lot of enegery, it's a littler rarer now but still happens. On those days you two get up to all sorts of mischief. It's like he's making up for all the years he had to be sensible while raising his younger siblings.
He’s a constant calming presence. If you are struggling/having a bad day, he’ll spend it in the garden with you. Or if it’s raining, he’ll make some tea from scratch and wrap a blanket around you. You then sit and read together.
He gets very excited when you do an artwork of the garden.
You often garden together, sometimes while listening to metal, then go home and watch a horror movie.
Primo will often buy you a new house plant, or 'Bambinos' as he calls them!
He'll make sure you don't over work yourself and hurt your knee. But if you knee is bad he'll take care of you.
He is so proud of you and more than happy to tell you this. He will praise you, and let you know that you are a good boy.

My Ghostface Ranking
Hello everyone!
I’ve been in a big Scream mood lately (and always), so I figured I’d do a ranking of my favorite killers in the Scream franchise.
This will include the killers from all three seasons of the TV series, as well as Scream 1-6. I also included Jason, the opening kill of 6, because why not lol. Comes to 17 killers total! (I didn’t include the killer from the one-shot Halloween Special of the TV Series, as he didn’t even resemble Ghostface unlike the others). SPOILERS for all of that by the way!!
My rankings are very different than a lot of the ones I’ve seen floating around the internet, so please be respectful of my opinion! I love all most of these characters and any differing opinions are 100% valid!
17. Jamal “Jay” Elliot - TV Series, Season 3
I have to admit, I enjoyed season 3 of the TV Series. It was cool to see the perspective shift to a lower-income neighborhood, and having a more diverse main cast. With that said... Jay was unfortunately a very underwhelming killer and character as a whole. A lot of this comes down to Tyga’s performance. His line delivery was so wooden despite his emotional backstory and motive. His killer reveal happens as he lay there dying, which took away a lot of the stakes and gravity of the moment. The character had a lot of potential, but unfortunately I don’t feel that it was tapped at all.
16. Jason Carvey - Scream VI
Yeahhhh, Jason was never going to make it far up this list. I was hesitant to even add him at all. He is one of the opening kills of Scream VI, but what the character brought to the table for his limited screen time was really fresh and interesting. In the opening scene of the movie, we have Ghostface commit a murder and then unmask himself??? It was cool to follow a Ghostface Killer’s perspective, watch him interact with Tara while secretly plotting her death, describe how his first kill felt, etc.
15. Quinn Bailey - Scream VI
I actually really liked Quinn. Her quirky, sex-positive roommate character was extremely fun and endearing, and turning the trope around to make that sex-positive character the killer was a fun twist. Unfortunately, though, I feel like Quinn became less interesting after her killer reveal. She was just kind of.... angry, and lost a lot of her fun quirkiness. She is the only killer that I feel got less interesting after revealing themselves as a killer. I also believe she was only actually responsible for one kill (Gale’s boytoy), which is disappointing. Ultimately, I feel it would have been a better move NOT to make her one of the killers, keep her the fun quirky friend she was pre-reveal, and allow more much-needed focus to the film’s other two main killers.
14. Charlie Walker - Scream 4
In most of the Ghostface partnerships, there is usually a mastermind and a minion. Charlie is one of the more obvious examples of the “minion” type, and unfortunately very much gets overshadowed by his partner - more on her later. Charlie himself is fine - I don’t particularly love OR hate him? It was a fun twist to see the Randy-type horror trivia nerd turn out to be the killer, and I did enjoy his flirty dynamic with Kirby. I am personally of the belief that Charlie was behind the mask for most of the movie, doing Jill’s dirty work so she could keep her hands clean. He was an efficient and brutal Ghostface who unfortunately did not get much time to shine post-reveal.
13. Stu Macher - Scream (1996)
I know. I know. Don’t kill me. I’m sorry. Stu, I feel, is usually somewhere in the top 3 on everyone’s Ghostface rankings. And I get it. Matthew Lillard’s performance as the character is great. Stu is extremely entertaining, freakin crazy, and fun to watch. But beyond that.... I’m sorry, he just didn’t have much importance in the grand scheme of things. He was little more than Billy’s minion. He had some of the greatest lines in the franchise, but also... his motive was peer pressure. As charismatic and amazing as his performance is, I just can’t justify putting him any higher on this list.
12. Richie Kirsch - Scream (2022)
While we’re on the topic of Ghostface Killers with incredibly high charisma, here’s Richie Kirsch! I honestly really like Richie. He’s very likeable, both pre- AND post-reveal. His “toxic fandom” motive is interesting. I also really enjoy that he and Amber never really show any signs of wanting to betray or kill each other, and seem to genuinely respect each other. This is also the only Ghostface team that I really don’t think the mastermind/minion dynamic applies to, as they seem to be on pretty equal footing. But a lot of what I find interesting about Richie comes with subtext. Upon rewatches, there is so much subtext surrounding his character. How he claims to never have seen a Stab movie, but then stands there in shock and awe in the background when he first meets Dewey, and watches Stab movies and Stab analysis videos in every second of idle time we see him have. The chemistry and body language when Richie and Amber “meet for the first time”, and the looks they give each other when Amber half-jokingly throws suspicion on him. Richie was overall a fun and compelling character, and Scream VI expanding on his backstory and the depths of his toxic fandom was really interesting.
11. Piper Shaw - TV Series, Season 1
Piper was the killer in the first season of the TV Series. Seemingly, she started off as the show’s answer to Gale Weathers: a true crime podcaster that came to Lakewood to investigate the recent string of killings, and the town’s history of previous killings. She befriended Emma, the show’s main character, and became something of a confidant to her, a shoulder to cry on. In the end, Piper was revealed to be the killer, the daughter of a man who (supposedly) famously killed a bunch of teens decades ago.... and Emma’s secret half-sister. She was carrying out a vendetta she had against Emma’s mother for abandoning her as a child. Although Piper isn’t given a whole lot of time to shine post-reveal (her final revelation/fight scene is only a few minutes long), she is mentioned a lot in season 2. In a lot of ways, she is the mastermind of the show’s first two seasons, even after her death in season 1. I feel like I would’ve liked Piper a lot more if we got to spend more time with her and better understand her, but alas....
10. Mickey Altieri - Scream 2
Of all the “minion” Ghostfaces, Mickey was the one that got the closest to being a mastermind type. Even though he was pretty much under Mrs. Loomis’s thumb, he had his own motive, his own goals and ideas, his own agency as a character. He also dealt some serious psychological blows to Sidney. Mickey was a solid Ghostface that left a lasting impact on Sidney and the franchise as a whole - even if he largely goes unrecognized for it. He was the only Ghostface that wanted to get caught, and wanted to undergo a big, high-profile court case where he used violence in cinema as a defense. I’m not sure how well that motive has aged for this day and age, but back when Scream 2 came out, that was a very hot-button issue and I could very well see a court case like that getting huge media attention.
9. Ethan Landry - Scream VI
Honestly... I was surprised when I found myself putting Ethan this high up the list. I liked Scream VI, but my biggest issue with it is that, since the movie has three main killers to contend with, it unfortunately means that none of them really get the development or focus that they should. And if you haven’t been able to guess yet by the Ghostfaces ranked below Ethan, I tend not to appreciate the “minion” killers as much as the masterminds. But, here is also where a new trend will start to become apparent on this list - I have a big weakness for mentor/mentee, parent/child types of relationships.... even villainous fictional ones. I had a pretty rough childhood, my adulthood is spent largely trying to mentor youth and be the adult I always wanted when I was a kid, and I love exploring those types of dynamics in fiction - even dark, twisted versions of it. I realized I loved Ethan the moment his father said that there’s a very special bond between a father and his “first son”, and that look of heartbreak and jealousy came across Ethan’s face. That quick look said everything you needed to know about his character. This sweet, awkward, emotional kid was getting up to some dark shit just to finally win his father’s approval and love. Ethan wasn’t a killer at heart, not really. He was just a lonely, unloved boy changing himself to be what his father wanted. That’s tragic. I really would’ve liked to see this batch of killers get more screentime and development, most especially Ethan. I think the character has a lot of potential - but, like some of the others below Ethan on this list, that potential never came to light.
8. Amber Freeman - Scream (2022)
Amber is just so FUN. She’s got that manic Stu energy, she is wildly unpredictable, but also has a lot more depth and agency than I feel Stu got. A lot of what I said about Richie also applies to Amber: There is a lot of subtext to unpack in earlier scenes of the movie between her and Richie before they reveal themselves, I think it’s rad that the two never really show signs of wanting to kill or betray each other, and they seem to be on pretty equal footing instead of taking on mastermind or minion roles to each other. Beyond that, Amber is just SO entertaining to watch, especially after her reveal as the killer - which, by the way, her reveal itself perfectly encapsulated just how chaotic her character was. You never really knew what she was thinking or what she would do next. A few times in the climax, she fell into a sobbing fit begging for mercy or declaring himself the victim to throw people off their guard, only to immediately snap back into killer mode. There was never a dull moment with Amber! AND HOW FREAKING COOL WAS HER DEATH SCENE???
7. Billy Loomis - Scream (1996)
This.... is another placement that I feel a little guilty about, and am afraid I might get hate for haha. A lot of people have Billy at #1 on their rankings. He’s the original, after all! The one that set everything in motion! And for the record, I do love Billy Loomis. A lot. He is a great character, and he paved the way for an entire franchise of Ghostfaces following in his footsteps. He came off as extremely threatening, extremely scary, and definitely was a great villain. My main issue with him is, both in AND out of canon, Billy is a bit overrated to me? The way he is talked about online, in forums, discussion videos, even in the movies themselves - especially with Sam’s visions of him in two movies now - almost seem to deify the character as some brilliant, almost supernatural, force of evil. In reality, he was a goofy, bumbling teenager that made a lot of dumb rookie mistakes, constantly got battered up in fights, etc. His effectiveness in the original movie was BECAUSE he was so “real”. Anyone, even your boyfriend, could secretly be a psycho out to get you. As much as I love Billy, and as much as I respect the legacy he started, there are definitely others in the Ghostface mask that have personally affected me more.
6. Beth - TV Series, Season 3
Beth is pretty unique for a Ghostface Killer. Jay, her partner, is the one with the motive, with the personal grudge, the goal to achieve. Beth’s motive is that she is a sociopath and just wants to kill people. Despite that, though, Beth is the mastermind of the duo. She listened to Jay’s problems and convinced him to be her partner and kill alongside her, so that she could be the horror villain she always wanted to be. Beth is the resident horror fanatic that all Scream media must have, dishing out the rules to survive and throwing out horror references, and this continues well after her reveal as the killer - and the horror commentary only becomes more fun with lines like “No wonder Jason never runs after all those stupid counselors. This is freaking exhausting!” With Jay betrayed and killed off before her reveal as his partner, Beth gets a lot of time to shine, with almost half of the final episode devoted to her final confrontation. She was genuinely a lot of fun as a character and as a killer. (But I hate that she’s the only Ghostface in the franchise that doesn’t have a full name!)
5. Nancy Loomis AKA Debbie Salt - Scream 2
Mrs. Loomis was the Ghostface reveal that shocked me the most. I genuinely did not see that coming. Laurie Metcalf is a great actress, and pretty well known, but her part in the movie pre-reveal was so small that she was barely even on my radar. And what a performance! Laurie Metcalf comes off as genuinely freaking unhinged in this film, and her eyes are so expressive and full of madness. She has, in my opinion, one of the best fight scenes in the franchise on that stage with Sidney. As I said in Ethan’s entry, I have a weakness for those mentor/parental relationships, and one thing I love about Mrs. Loomis is how maternal she comes off as... even though she tends to completely screw over the young men she has such love for. She speaks so lovingly of her son Billy, her entire motive is avenging his downfall and death, even though she abandoned him and helped to cause that downfall in the first place. She takes Mickey under her wing and speaks proudly of his accomplishments and potential, even though she betrays and kills him. She’s deluded herself into thinking she is a nurturing, caring mother figure while completely deflecting her own worst qualities and actions onto others. Blaming Sidney’s mother for her own abandonment of Billy and the psychological damage that caused him, and blaming Sidney for everything resulting from that, is only further proof of that delusion.
4. Kieran Wilcox - TV Series, Seasons 1-2
Kieran is the only time on this list that I like the “minion” killer more than the “mastermind” killer. And even though he definitely takes an almost subservient role to Piper, after her death he is forced to step up and become more of a mastermind type. In season 2 of the TV Series, he is the sole killer, and we learn that he had a hand in a few of the deaths of season 1 as well. His kills are easily some of the most brutal in the franchise, and it quickly becomes apparent that he is far more gruesome than Piper. He poses as Emma’s boyfriend for the bulk of the show, though he secretly was dating Piper and spoke of her almost in a worshipful tone - he even ends up dragging her corpse out of the lake and keeping it in his “lair”. He had mental issues, but Piper honed them and taught him to let out his aggression by killing. With Piper being an adult podcaster and Kieran being an underage high school student, there is definitely a lot of creepy undertones here, but it shows some depth to Kieran’s character and motive. In the end, he was ultimately a victim to Piper despite how awful he himself grew to be. He stepped out of her shadow and became a formidable killer in his own right, even killing the mayor of Lakewood, framing Emma herself for the murder, and manipulating Emma all steps of the way to distrust everyone around her.
3. Detective Wayne Bailey - Scream VI
I LOVE Detective Wayne Bailey. From what I can tell, I’m very much in the minority there, and I hear all of the complaints against his character. He’s hammy and over the top. I agree, but I don’t see how that’s a bad thing? Stu is VERY over the top and the majority of the fandom (myself included) loves him for it. Bailey checks a lot of the boxes I typically love in characters. He has those parental relationships with THREE children that all go a long way in defining the core of his character. He orchestrates and manipulates quite a lot, and I tend to really like the manipulative mastermind villains. He’s a corrupted cop, those are always fun in fiction. He seeks to avenge his oldest son’s death, but like Mrs. Loomis, he is completely oblivious to his own part in that death and the ramifications of his own actions. He fueled Richie’s love of Stab and horror, illegally got him Stab evidence for his collection, and basically bankrolled his murder spree. He sought to avenge his oldest son, while in the process killing Jason and Greg, two people who respected and revered Richie and wanted to complete his life’s work - he even mocks them for it. He uses his surviving two children as soldiers in his personal war, and ultimately gets them killed as well. He is so obsessed with avenging Richie that he neglects to appreciate the children he still has (see the “bond between a father and his oldest son” moment and Ethan’s reaction), even though part of his scheme involves openly mourning Quinn’s fake death. He claims that the Stab movies are “a little dark”, despite causing some of the most brutal kills in that dark franchise. He completely lacks self-awareness and is SUCH a toxic and awful example of what those mentor/parent relationships can look like, which is fun to explore in fiction. Yet, like Mrs. Loomis, he’s deluded himself into believing that he’s a good parent. Also, that bodega scene with the shotgun is SO INTENSE I LOVE IT
2. Roman Bridger - Scream 3
I’ve always loved the manipulative mastermind villains in fiction. Darth Sidious. Xehanort. Petyr Baelish. Wilson Fisk. Walter White. That’s not the sort of villain I ever expect to encounter in something like Scream. Yet, we got something along that vein with Roman Bridger. Similar to Piper, Roman was the illegitimate sibling of Sidney, and sought revenge for being abandoned as a child. He turned young Billy Loomis against Sidney and her mother, took him under his wing (there’s that mentor angle again!) and taught him how to successfully get away with murder. Roman didn’t directly murder Maureen Prescott, he directed someone else into doing it for him. When Billy moved on to trying to kill Sidney, and the resulting fame that arose from that, Roman finally took measures into his own red right hand and started another killing spree. He was the director of Stab 3, and began killing his actors to draw Sidney out of hiding, kill her, and frame her for his crimes in the process. One thing I appreciate about Roman is that he didn’t carry out his kills the same way as any other Ghostface on this list. Even when getting himself more directly involved as a killer, he directed people. He used a voice modifier to trick people and get them to go exactly where he wanted them. In some cases, he created a dangerous situation and then manipulated people into effectively getting themselves killed. He didn’t just stab people, he manipulated them, he blew them up, he turned them against each other. To be honest, Roman may even be my favorite Ghostface. I go back and forth between him and the #1 on this list a lot. Their order changes depending on the day and my mood. He scratches a lot of itches for me and I love his character. His final fight against Sidney is my favorite in the franchise and gives both of them time to shine.
1. Jill Roberts - Scream 4
But then there’s Jill. The other big shock I didn’t see coming - the other being Mrs. Loomis. Jill was the new main character, the new Final Girl, the new Sidney for a new generation. Until it turned out that that’s exactly what she WANTED. She may not be the level of mastermind that Roman was, but she had all of her friends, the police, the media, all fooled into thinking that she was the next Sidney. She had Charlie fooled into thinking that he would be the famous survivor, the Randy, alongside her. For a brief moment, she actually got what she wanted and WON. She betrayed and murdered her partner, she survived the Act 3 bloodbath at the house, she beat the living shit out of herself to sell her story and make her status as the survivor believable, and moved on to the hospital and a whole other fight scene. There is nothing I DON’T love about Jill. She was a great, and extremely effective, villain. She had, in my opinion, the greatest motive of the franchise. There’s some truth to it - in the age of social media and viral videos, she very well could have become rich and famous overnight, with movie deals and legions of fans. She also has some of the greatest Ghostface lines ever. “I’m gonna slit your eyelids in half so you don’t blink when I stab you in the face.”

I SAW U ON MY NOTIFS OMG ITS BEEN SO LONG HOW ARE YOU??
I don’t know why I just saw this omg!! I’ve been good :) I’ve been working a lot and busy with classes and just everything else life has to offer 😂
Willow is almost 2 years old now!! and she’s gotten so big and she’s been much more well behaved too!!
I’ve been on and off Tumblr and usually just go on to read some stuff on my favorite fandoms which surprisingly there isn’t a lot of the things im looking for!! I’ve really taking a liking to My Hero Academia but specifically 3 characters- Best Jeanist, Edgeshot, and Stain which there is like NO new content on them!! I haven’t finished the anime yet since im more of a manga reader than an anime watcher 😔
but more on Best Jeanist- I have become addicted to his character 😭 I’ve rebranded some of my usernames to him and I have a collection of merchandise of him on my shelf!! It started as a joke but it’s not a joke anymore!! same with Stain and Edgeshot, but most of my money has gone to Best Jeanist. I’m so sad there’s not much content on him, I say I’ll just write my own but that isn’t true- LOL but that’s ok, I can just use my free time to think of silly little scenarios of him in my head!!
Here’s a picture of my current anime collection, it’s slightly outdated but you get the idea:
Not pictured is a couple One Piece things since I’ve really started to like One Piece again and a couple plushies including a plushie of Shinsuke Kita from Haikyuu because he will always be my favorite (and Tsukishima too!! remember when my user was kaleshima!!)
I’ve always been taking a liking to making an OC and just my oc overall!! She’s mainly a MHA oc with a freaky blood/guts/gore manipulation power (it’s kind dark but I think it’s cool) and omg she’s taken up so much of my time and brain space, I feel like I’ve done more in depth creation of her than of myself 😂 I’ve also been buying a lot of art commissions of her!! I’ll attach a few images below, but I like talking about her so much that if I end up coming back here I might do some writing for her since I’d love someone or some place to talk about her :) all credits to the locket artists, I don’t think any of them have Tumblr though-: (the first image is her with Best Jeanist and the last is her with Stain!!)
I also have gotten into JJK but im still new to it, only watching the first couple episodes and reading the leaks 😭 which is a GREAT way to start omg
Also, don’t you love it when old hyper fixations come back??!??! yeah, that’s me right now with Mortal Kombat!! I’ve been a fan for almost 10 years now and the new game is so good!! and the characters omg… they made them so good 😍 thankfully Tumblr has a lot on them!!
but other than some things coming and going there hasn’t been a lot of new stuff in my life but compared to last year my mood and health has been so much better which is a win in my eyes, plus im starting to like a new guy which is good because I got my heart absolutely shattered little over a year ago and I swear I thought I was never going to recover, but recovery is possible and I give myself a lot of credit for the things I’ve done despite life seemingly staying the same.
I hope to move out of my parents house soon and continue my education further and my social life and all that but ik that won’t happen until a few years which seems like forever but seeing how 2023 has gone by so fast, I have a feeling it’s going to come quicker than it seems
I always say I want to come back to writing on this app and honestly I am in need of a new hobby because yeah listening to music is great but it doesn’t get you far!! which by the way, also a hyper fixation, bands and music and all that- I am really big into Nirvana right now and plan on dressing up as the lead singer Kurt Cobain for Halloween- which is funny I am dressing up because for the first time I have no plans for Halloween!! I’ll probably just bake some goodies and watch scary movies. How is Halloween celebrated where you are, if at all? American culture is so funny- and it’s funny because America doesn’t have much culture, it’s just one big melting pot which makes it unique
Speaking of music, my favorite artists are probably Nirvana (which is a band) and so is Radiohead, Weezer, The Smiths, Ghost, and Korn (which are rock/metal bands, I really recommend them if you’re into that!!) but I also really like Melanie Martinez, Lana Del Rey, Mitski, Alex G, and a couple other solo artists (fun fact, I went to many concerts over the summer including Melanie and Weezer- they were so good!!) what kind of music do you listen to? any you recommend?!
Half way typing this too, I thought of the idea of coming back to Tumblr to write not just drabbles on my current hyper fixations but maybe some life advice and psychology stuff, I have a way with words and advice and all that even though I am considered “to young to know all this” but I see it as both good and bad having an old soul at a young age- and not to say I am a little child either, but I haven’t even been on this earth for 20 years yet, soon enough though
That all being said, I feel like a huge chapter of my life is coming to a wrap up soon and I am excited to start the new one!! I’ve been on this app forever even though I technically shouldn’t have had Tumblr as a pre-teen but hey, we all start somewhere!!
How have you been? Anything new and exciting? Or maybe something you’ve learned? I’ve been trying to learn new hobbies and I’ve started to really dig into what I want to do as a career since I have to really decided soon (I am doing community college right now which is a free 2-3 year schooling opportunity to earn credits before you go off and study a minor or major- not sure if you have that where you live and if you do it’s still probably different)
Anyways I want to study business and business management since I have taken a liking to running/leading an organization/group and coming up with marketing ideas for various groups I spend my time in- including theatre!! I have a local theatre group I work in backstage and I am the stage manager this year which is great since I want to going into management
It’s “late” where I am- actually it’s just 9:30 but I go to bed early especially when I have things to do the next day 😔 I’ll probably just use the excuse I am tired to run to Starbucks and spend my money like I always do. I really have become addicted to Starbucks and it’s only going to worsen as “Capitalism Christmas” comes next
Holidays are so silly to me too, I don’t really enjoy them because they’ve always seemed to cheesy and not like they “advertise” but I hope to make the best of it this year, even if it just ends up being me working that day and then coming home to my dog. What Holidays do you enjoy? Any certain traditions or events you’re looking forward to?
I’ve written down most of my thoughts and this has been the most I’ve written in ages!! Maybe I should answer more asks from now on to get myself into the writing kick!! 😂
I hope you’ve been well and I hope we can talk more soon!! I totally just remembered we have each other on discord too!! I changed my user to @bestkaleist (Best Jeanist reference) so if you’re confused as to who that is, it’s me!!
wishing you all the well!! 🥬

June 2023 Movies/Shows Wrap-Up
A little monthly (spoilery!) wrap-up of all the shows, movies, and shorts I’ve watched or am watching in June 2023, general thoughts, and ranking of them all.
Recommendation of the month: I Go To School Not By Bus and We Are Gamily just cause they’re not as well known.
Ranking
The Devil Judge
Bloodhounds = The Eighth Sense
Our Skyy 2 = From Now On, Showtime! = I Go To School Not By Bus = We Are Gamily
Average Rating: 6.07/10 - D: so low this month
MDL Updates - Added to Watchlist:
A section because I’m curious about how many shows I decide to add to my Watch List a month and also the ratio of watching them:adding them.
My Name (2021): in some r/kdramarecommendations after finishing the devil judge
Bad Guys (2014): from this r/kdramarecommendations for heroes and villains who are both crazy
Bloodhounds (2023): It just released today (dropped all episodes on Netflix) and people are saying it has good action + fun bromance and is enjoyable, so I’ll watch it
Addicted Heroin (2016): idk it’s just one of the early BLs (from China no less, though there’s no proper ending I’m pretty sure) and people say there SA and isn’t healthy, so I’ll watch it when I’m in that mood
Some More (2018): I finished watching I Go To School Not By Bus and searched up tiktoks for it and kept coming across ones for this instead. I suppose it’s a trade-off; watch one short, add another. though i did have this on my radar already since it’s by Strongberry.
To Watch List At Start Of Month: 54
To Watch List At End Of Month: 49
Removed from To Watch List:
Removing these on June 30 because now that I’m getting into kpop as well, my interest in watching dramas isn’t as high and I know I’m probably not gonna get to these.
180 Degree Longitude Passes Through Us (2022) - if I watch it, I might like it but I probably won’t end up watching
GAP (2022) - man I was really looking forward to this but ik people say it’s overdramatic and messy by the end and I don’t feel like it
Merry Queer (2022) - this has been on the list for a while but I always just skip it lol
Rak Diao (2022) - I almost started this multiple times but never ended up actually watching it, so I probably just won’t
Watching On-Air
Our Skyy 2
Country: Thailand
Release Dates: Apr 19, 2023 - June 8, 2023
Watch Via: GMMTV YT (free)
Watch Dates: Apr 22 - June 8, 2023
Rating: 6/10 [based on (6.5 + 5.5 + 6 + 5.5 + 6.5 + 6.5 + 6.5)/7 NLMG = MSP = BBSxATOTS > Eclipse > SIMM = Vice Versa]
Bad Buddy: Cute and fun and I love PatPran, so I wish there was a bit more of them than there actually was. It got boring toward the middle when they were separated and kept getting lost in the forest but I like them so much and also the tidbits of InkPa were great.
ATOTS: I do not care about these people. [6.5/10 for the last 2 weeks]

The Devil Judge (2021)
Country: South Korea
Release Dates: Jul 3, 2021 - Aug 22, 2021
Watch Via: Viki (free)
Watch Dates: June 1 - 5, 2023
Rating: 7.5/10 7/10 [Jan 25, 2024 Update: Decreased by 0.5 stars when rerating my top shows: 7.5 -> 7]
Overall Impression: Cool concept with the live court, I liked how it played with the viewers and the in-show audience. Ji Sung was a great actor to play Yohan, he's beautiful, he's charming, he's intimidating, he can play both arrogant and cute. Seonah my beloved, she was so clever and cunning and forward thinking and fearless, yet with hints of loneliness and care for young girls, she was a great villain ah <3 Gaon was fine to be honest, I think people were frustrated by him but I felt like his inability to trust Yohan made sense considering Yohan's a sick bastard and people who he trusted more distrust Yohan. I wish the girls Judge Oh and Suhyeon were given more depth and utility because they were very flat characters who had some usage sometimes but were often just out of the loop and had little impact on the narrative. Seonah x Yohan sicko dynamic is so good I love it so much. Suhyeon x Gaon could have really been bodyguard gf x princess bf but alas, they had like a day together after kissing lol. Yohan and Gaon were so homoerotic, like wow no kiss. I loved Yohan, Elijah, and Gaon so much. I'm heartbroken that in the end, Gaon is all alone without these 2, with a dead best friend and a traitor of a mentor being a judge in a system that's just as corrupt.

Overall Impression: Good enough, especially the heart of episode 6 but not something I'll be thinking about at all. The characters didn't resonate a whole lot, this focused a lot on just fighting scenes (more than like strategizing, being clever, etc, which is usually what I'm a fan of), the defeat of the villains wasn't really satisfying at all - especially with how cruel episode 6 went down. Also, I don’t ship Geonwoo and Woojin, sadly.

Overall Impression: Funny and comedic with likable characters (even rancid characters like Yeji were charming to me). Nothing too deep, though it had some touching moments. Too much dramatic romance in the second half, I don't care about their royal/shaman past life tragedy and I think that made it kinda meh for me in the latter half.

Overall Impression: It was interesting and I think the show had a good grasp on characters and relationship dynamics and progression. I liked that there were friendships each character had and that they existed outside of just this relationship; even some of the friends existed outside of just being a friend, like Yonnwon was a whole human. The female friends were great, Yoonwon is a treasure and I liked how Aeri was so sweet but so mean sometimes, a very clever city girl type. Also, the tension and cute moments between Jihyun and Jaewon (esp in ep 6 and 10) were great. I think it's a good show that's done well but right now, it's not taking up much brain space and it also didn't make me viscerally feel anything.

Overall Impression: Man, I came across this short because of this tiktok of the bathroom kiss which haunted me, such a good edit, but the actual scene T.T This reminds me of Your Name Engraved Herein with the school boys who are plagued by homophobia at school, though interestingly, one of the characters was out to everybody from the beginning here. The homophobic teachers and the weird shouty fangirls who outed them and obsessed over them were sooo dislikeable and took up too much time in this 35-minute video. It was cute, it was sad, it had the indie vibes that so many of these queer shorts have. The ending wasn’t necessarily happy but it wasn’t tragic, at least - though I feel like that specific scene was lower quality than the rest of the show in terms of production and acting.
Well fuck, I accidentally got into watching Boys Love Boys Planet podcast recap of all 12 episodes, then didn’t know the group at all but kinda felt like I did, then ended up actually watching some content and now I’ve reblogged 2 things, have been going through the reddit r/zerobaseone posts from the beginning (since it started just 2 months ago), am watching content, started my content index, the whole thing bruh. So my watching is gonna take a huge hit I can tell + my dreams of starting to read books again is a wisp now

Overall Impression: Another gay-lesbian marriage after Badhaai Do with overbearing family, though this one is mostly mothers. I think the interactions are funny and how certain pairs agree and then agree with the other pair. I think the fact that the mother pretended to have pancreatic cancer which killed their father but nobody called her out on it kinda soured me though, I think I would’ve been even more touched if that wasn’t there. The ending was sweet and touching, though a bit sudden. The romance between the women was a bit too sudden like y’all barely know each other but it kinda feels like the opposite journey as in Badhaai Do where the man got a new bf lol. Anyway, pretty good.
I should prune my MDL to-watch list, especially since I’m gonna be watching stuff less frequently now.
