So who’s gonna write the fic where new Marshal IG-11 keeps seeing a mandalorian and his son out and about in town and knows he’s never met them before but can’t help but feel like maybe he has. Sometimes he catches the mandalorian staring at him (lots of people stare at IG, it’s not every day you see an assassin droid turned lawman) but he never approaches and always turns tail and disappears if IG comes near him. He’s never done anything outright against the law, so IG has no real business with him, aside from the illogical nagging feeling that he’s forgotten something important and the mandalorian is involved somehow.

The mandalorian’s son always looks sad when he sees him. IG has no idea what species the child is or what his name might be but he finds he knows the sound of his laughter. The feel of a long soft green ear in IG’s hand. The choked sound of a seriously injured man, resisting medical care to preserve his honor. The same choked sound, overlaid with sorrow, as the man tries to rationalize away what they all know has to happen. A sense of calm as the self-destruct timer enters the single digits.

His memory circuit is freshly wiped, but there are ghosts in the machine that persist.

I went to a wedding like a month ago and started a wip about a wedding meet cute with Bakugou that was supposed to be like 2-3k words but never finished it and I’m so mad bc it should be easy but school was so hard and UGH

but!!!!! it made me think about being friends with benefits with Bakugou and having just finished sleeping with him, rolling off of his chest as you both lay beside each other trying to catch your breaths. and you ask him if he’d like to go to to your friends wedding with you next weekend? that he doesn’t have to come, but you’d like to have some arm candy with you?

and at first, he doesn’t answer. gets kind of fidgety, scratches at his chest, murmurs under his breath that he’s not sure, he might have a shift, he’ll have to check later. and how can you not take that as a rejection? as a show of only being good enough for private time spent together, but unable to be seen together, publicly, as his date?

so you gather your things, quickly and embarrassed, stutter out that you were just joking, just fucking around and playing. you’re scurrying out of his apartment before he can stop you despite his pleading to hear him out.

and do you ignore him the entire weekend of the wedding? how couldn’t you, when you show up, dateless, with the memory of only being filled sexually but never emotionally? and does Bakugou regret it the entire time? how couldn’t he, when he was only tongue tied and nervous because he couldn’t believe the person he’s been in love with for months wanted to do more than just lie underneath him?

I need people to understand that Musk destroying Twitter by going after its usability is a deliberate and insidious choice

He doesn’t care that he’s gonna lose $44billion because the tool he’s systematically tearing apart each day was the tool used by journalists, lawyers, academics, doctors, scientists, activists and so many more valuable experts to disseminate vital information and it was being used to organize people, speak truth to power, and to fight authoritarian despots wherever it was accessible. Ffs search and rescue operations esp after natural disasters for YEARS relied on Twitter to determine where their help was needed most and which areas were in need of what resources.

Elon is a moron and don’t get me wrong I love laughing at his expense too but it’s so clear to me that while he’s certainly no evil mastermind he’s definitely making very deliberate choices right now.

When Twitter dies, those experts will probably move on to different apps. They’ll be scattered and you won’t follow everyone to 17 different apps. That’s the point of this takeover and rebranding and Twitter blue and dm limits. He wants to drive out users, get rid of features which enable people to organize and campaign. He wants people to question each others credibility. He’s gonna make back that $44 billion. Didn’t his net worth quadruple during the fucking pandemic?? He’ll continue to be hero worshipped by his cult of blue-check zombies and one of the greatest (albeit riddled w it’s own brand of flaws and issues) tools of communication will die a slow, painful, and embarrassing death. Not w a bang but w a whimper.
