Dear Redhood.
I know you just watched me collapse, scream in anguish and sorrow before standing up and continuing to work on my assignments.
I’m fine. Uh. Don’t call the bats or birds on me or whoever you’re working with.
It’s not a villain origin story. It’s just been a week. I know I’m in college. I promise it’s not for crime.

The Worst Crossover To Ever ‘Cross Over’ Pt.2
See, Danny isn’t terribly surprised with his predicament. And by that, he means that he is wholly unsurprised that he has to fake who he is. A fourteen year old kid working, in this day and age? Unlikely, he thinks. So he decides to pretend to be fifteen, what an easy fix. But that doesn’t help with Sonic’s side of the problem. Sure, Sonic gets confused for a kid, but..how old is he?
As soon as the thought surfaces, Danny opens his mouth to speak, turning to look at Sonic as they walk around, searching for a somewhat acceptable abandoned building or something similar to hide out in for now. “Uh, how old are you, exactly?” Danny asks, with little hesitation. Sonic shrugs; “Old enough to legally drink in some countries- why, worried about something?” Danny feels his face turn a bit white. Wow, his appearance does not match his age. With a nervous smile, Danny responds with, “Yeah, dunno if you could get a job looking like that. I’m fourteen, and even I look older than you.” Sonic coughs awkwardly. “I’m gonna have to work on that, aren’t I? What an unlucky day it is,” he says, with a yawn. Shelving that problem in order to focus on the most important one, the two continue to wander the streets, looking for something to temporarily call “home”.
It isn’t too long before they find a suitable place. Dark, dreary, just like everywhere else; but it’s far more exaggerated, and even dirtier than the rest of the city. Some old graffiti here and there, a broken window or two. Not too shabby on the inside, still has running water and an AC. It makes Danny wonder just how old this building is and just how long it’s been since it was last lived in.
Sonic inspects every nook and cranny of the building, as if checking for safety violations. It appears to be an old office building, with kitchen necessities in what might’ve been a break room, and running water in the bathrooms. He investigates alone, namely for “Danny’s safety”, he says, but it makes one think. The amount of spiders he’s killed seems to point to a different conclusion..but that’s of no matter.
After looking at every floor, Sonic finally decides which one they’ll be staying on. Something that’s just a cut above the rest, and also safe enough- the third floor, out of four. He waves Danny over to the cleanest spot in the spacious, main room, calling out, “Let’s sleep over here for now, since we kinda can’t clean anything yet. It looks a lot nicer here, away from the nasty corners.” Danny nods, agreeing in silence. It looks like they have a lot of work to do, as they both flop on the floor and try to sleep.
Danny, however, struggles to sleep. In an entirely new city, an empty building, with someone who he’s just been freshly acquainted with, trying to sleep on the cold, hard floor? That’s no easy feat, and he acknowledges this. So he comes to the most logical conclusion: why not check out the city from above, via Phantom form? In silence, he nods in agreement with his own thought, intrigued by his new possibilities. He’ll fly out and survey the town, enjoy the sunrise, if he’s awake for that long- try to make this place feel a little bit like home. Familiarize himself with it, perhaps. It sounds like a good plan, no? So he acts.
He whispers to himself, after assuring that Sonic is asleep, “Going ghost!” He transforms in silence. A little reminder of who he is, the whispers of who he was only hours ago, come to him via his reference of his beginnings. It gives him a feeling of determination, a want to explore. A desire to protect this new friend he’s found, and the strangers of a place he’s newly discovered. Slowly slipping through the floor, intangibly, he floats out of the building, making himself invisible so as not to spook anyone else who may be out at night.
In the night sky, he soars through the clouds as he takes in the layout of the city. It’s large, dark, and..full of crime, which makes a lot of sense in such a poverty-stricken area, but.. it has an air of abnormality. Suddenly, he hears some horrible sounds. Shrill, shrieking laughter booms out from a warehouse a few blocks away, his ears wishing for the silence of seconds before to return. Although he doesn’t truly want to approach, his obsession to protect those in need draws him to the source of the sound. The closer he gets, the more off everything seems. And..are those furries on the top of that building? What have I gotten myself into, he thinks, with an accompanying facepalm. Oh, boy.
Back in the cold, dreary office building, Sonic wakes up, restless. He feels terrible..he turns towards Danny, wanting to check on him, before quickly finding out that he’s not even present. What a fantastic day this has been. Sonic feels his heart pumping, ready for a run. He has to find Danny, to make sure he’s okay. Unless..he left of his own accord? Shit, what if he actually is weirded out by me..he said something about the unusualness of a guy like me showing up, didn’t he?! Sonic struggles to decide what to do. He knows Danny could be in need, he knows he’s young. And, from what he’s gathered, he’s a bit odd too, but if he needs help, of course Sonic should jump on in for him! They’re “partners in crime” now, aren’t they?
Despite his conscience screaming at him to go, he still struggles to make the choice. What if Danny really didn’t mean anything he said? But..he listens to that loud, desperate part of him. He doesn’t want to lose the only person he’s found here. If he can save or help this kid, someone who accepts him in this strange new place, that’s just what he’ll do.
So, against his “better judgement”, he rushes off, speeding around the town to find Danny. If anything, he should be where it’s quietest or where it’s loudest, since both are eeriest. As Sonic zooms off, going incredibly fast so as not to be seen clearly, he is particularly careful to check suspicious, disturbing areas.
Not long after he began his run, he finds Danny. But it’s quite the weird situation to be in.. cause Danny’s colors are inverted now? And there’s this weird bat guy a few buildings away, with some friends, too.. and a fucking..clown?! What is this shit, bad writing??!

Hi my love <33
So as you know (bc I don’t shut up lmfao) I am currently going through a wild time that’s making me super emotional breaking down at everything! So I come to make a humble request 🫶💓
Can I get thoughts/blurb/hcs/etc, really anything lmfao, for how Greg and Aaron would be supportive of big life changes? The way they’d be comforting while still being logical and grounding😭😭
No worries if not of COURSE! Love you always
MY SWEET!!!! 🫶🏻 it’s all going to be okay, i’m right here for you and so are our favorite men 🤭
let’s start with aaron <333
aaron is the wise Old Man™️ because he’s older and he can give you advice from life experiences! so one of the things he does a lot is talk to you about the big changes of his life. remember when he gave up being a prosecutor because he wanted to join the bau to prevent the crimes form happening? that was a big decision for him to make but he knew that was what he wanted. and now he knows he wouldn’t change that decision for the world bc the bau is his life <3 so he comforts you with the fact that big changes are for good and that was what happened to him 🥰 he just knows more and he has this thing where when he says something you believe him. if aaron hotchner tells you you’ll be alright and you have nothing to worry about, you believe him!
if you get overwhelmed he just gets you in his lap or his arms and asks you questions to find the root of what is bothering you. it kinda helps to break down your problems into smaller ones. and as you do, together you figure out possible solutions. which takes a huuuge weight off your shoulders!
he also lets you get as emotional as you want without any judgement!! he knows how scary it can feel growing up! but he will make sure you have a shoulder to cry on! someone to hold you all night long <3 and of course he reminds you that no matter what life changes you’re going through he’s the one thing that will never ever change cause he’ll love you forever 🥹
now for greg <333
greg is the organized type. you know he loves his lists 🤭 and ofc he’ll make so many lists with you. what’s stressing you out? he definitely has a list for that. problems with solutions! he won’t let one of your worries unanswered. you’ll be like “i’m worried about…said problem” and he’ll be like “no worries, let’s look at the list and see what possible solutions we have for that 🥰”
greg is also a ray of sunshine!! which means he will somehow make you feel excited about your new beginning!! bc look at all these new opportunities!! new places for dates!! new people to meet and become friends with!! he’s just sooo excited for your new life together so you can’t help but get excited too!!!!
when it comes to missing your favorite people, he’ll create routines with you so you don’t feel their absence as intensely. maybe he’ll plan for specific days and times to call your friends or facetime your parents! plan your next trip back home! maybe he’ll help you make a journal that you’ll fill with your new life experiences and moments so you can share it with your favorite people so they won’t miss out on anything!! anything to make you feel less homesick 🥹
they both love you sooooo so much and they’re proud of you!! they couldn’t be happier to see you grow and change and make new beginnings! and they’re literally right there by your side so you know you’ll be alright!!
and a little thing from me <3 there’s this quote about change from an old tv show i used to watch that always helps me “i don’t know if things will get better if they change, but in order for things to get better they have to change”

Escape Room
Frustrated that Bettel has fled the country, O decides to go after Twobert instead. To survive with Phantom in tow, he enlists the help of anyone he can to avoid getting kidnapped by these new assailants.
Previous Chapter
Bettel 2 & Crimzon Ruze
TW: kidnapping attempt, witness protection, police shoot out Words: 1458 | Rating: M
Pounding on the door alerts Phantom, the barking startling Twobert out of his gaming session to go answer. He peers through the peephole, eyes widening when he sees several figures dressed in all black. Phantom is scooped up quickly and shoved in his carrier, as Twobert grabs his phone and moves towards the back door.
“C’mon shush- can’t give us away Phantom!”
The pounding resumes as he starts hearing shouting, moving to the fire escape quickly and heading up onto his neighbor’s balcony. Phantom luckily is satiated rather quickly with a Taco Bell burrito Twobert stashed in his pocket, pressing his back against the door and getting as far away from the edge as possible. He closes his eyes as he hears the figures break in, already trashing the place looking for him. Their boots clomp against the metal deck outside their apartment, and he hears the fire escape ladder squeak.
“He escaped out the back door! He’s gotta be down in the alley! Pan out!”
He lets out a breath quietly, texting his neighbor to unlock their backdoor and open it quietly. There’s a very brief moment before the door slowly slides behind him, the neighbor looking down at him with much concern, as they hear the men yelling around in the alleyway. Twobert is pulled into the apartment quickly, and the neighbor goes to the balcony to try and cover for him.
“Hey, you boys looking for your dog or something?”
“Oh don’t worry about us! Apologies for the noise, miss!”
“Quite alright! I hope you find him!”
She turns back, coming back into her apartment and locking the door, quickly closing the curtain to cover.
“What in the fresh fuck did you do!?”
“Nothing! Bettel got some, cryptic note saying that he’ll pay for his crimes, but he hasn’t committed any crimes! I’m guessing either they’re after me to try and get to him, or they think I am him. Bettel fled the country a few hours ago.”
“Hours? Oh gods. Do you want me to call the police?”
“It would be appreciated? Bettel gave me the number to some guy at his work and told me he would help me if shit gets bad, so I think I’m gonna call him, if that’s alright with you?”
“Totally. Go in my office, there’s no windows in there and I have soundproofing up. That should be the safest. Does Phantom need anything?”
“He should be fine with his burrito, I hope…”
Twobert goes into her office, hands shaking as he clicks on the number that Bettel sent him. He holds the phone to his ear, trying to settle his breathing.
“Who is this?”
“This is Twobert, Bettel’s brother? He told me he works with you?”
“Yeah? Why’d Betsy give you my number?”
“So… he may or may not be wanted by someone who wants to kill him? So he fled the country a few hours ago to live with an old friend, and a bunch of guys just broke into our apartment.”
“Oh shit, really? I was there when he got the letter, but they’re moving fast if they’re already to break-in levels of pissed off. Probably found out he fled the country and are after you… where are you right now?”
“Name first, I’m not giving you any location unless I know for sure you work with him. Especially since they’re still around the apartment.”
“Fuck- sorry. Ruze, I work as the mayor’s head bodyguard.”
“Oh thank gods he gave me the number of someone who can actually do shit.”
“I mean, your brother works around a lot of bodyguards. Kinda comes with the territory.”
“Alright, I’m in a neighbor’s apartment right now, she’s calling the police and hopefully they’re on their way.”
“Kay, sit tight, I’m gonna grab a few of my boys and we’ll tail the officers, grab your shit, and get you to one of the safe houses, alright?”
“Okay, they don’t know I’m here right now, but I’m not compromising shit. Text me when you’re here, alright?”
“If you don’t hear police sirens first, I will.”
Twobert hangs up the phone, sitting on the floor with his head between his hands in a panic. In less than a day it’s already gotten so much bigger than he thought it would be. His neighbor comes to the door with Phantom at her heels, who runs up to him and starts licking his face.
“Hey, they’re on their way. Just hang in there. How was the contact your brother gave you?”
“He’s the mayor’s head bodyguard, he said he’s gonna come over with some guys and get me and my stuff to a safe house.”
“So you’ll be alright?”
“That’s the hope. I mean, they kept the mayor alive through all those assassination attempts. I hope they’re good at their jobs.”
“Okay, they said this is their priority since you’re actively in danger. So-”
Mid-sentence she pauses as sirens are heard in the distance. There’s shouting outside in the alley, sounding rather frantic. Tires screech against the street as they grind to a halt, and megaphones begin blaring from the tops of their cars. The two of them move back to her living room, cracking open her back door slightly, just enough to hear what’s going on out there.
“Alright boys, we got some calls that you broke into some man’s place looking for him, is that correct?”
“Don’t know what you’re talking about officer, we’re just looking for our friend out here!”
“Well considering we have the man himself in our custody saying otherwise, I’m more likely to believe him. We’re gonna take you boys down to the station.”
“SON OF A BITCH-”
Twobert flinches back as he hears a few gunshots, pressing his back against his neighbor’s couch. She goes to him, helping him calm down after closing the door to muffle the sound outside again.
“Breathe, it’s okay. They don’t know you’re here, they think you’re down at the station. You’re safe. Help is here.”
She helps him lay down on his back, and Phantom curls up on his chest, whining. His hand shakily pets his dog, trying to ground himself out of the panic. The noise outside eventually settles, and his neighbor goes back out onto her balcony. Her shoulders relax, turning back inside.
“I only saw six men, and they have all of them in cuffs and being shoved in the backs of the cars. Looks like some tried to run, and others tried to go down shooting. But they got all of them.”
Twobert lets out a sigh of relief, scrubbing his face with his hands. A quiet knock is at her front door, and he ducks behind the couch out of sight. She goes to answer the door, cautious.
“Oh- hello officer.”
“Hello miss, we were told that you were the one that called us?”
“Yes, were you able to get all of them? Are there any more in the apartment?”
“We got six in the alley, and the boys pulled another one out of the apartment. Whoever wanted to nab your neighbor there wanted to be sure they succeeded. But they’re all heading down to the station to be questioned now. Is it alright that we come in and speak to him? Get a statement from both of you?”
“Absolutely, come right in.”
Twobert gets up from the floor, sighing with relief at the sight of the police officers. Phantom doesn’t leave his lap, sensing the stress pent up inside him. The questioning luckily goes smoothly, and they offer to stay until Ruze and his men arrive. He glances down at his phone at a notification, sending Ruze a reply with the apartment number when he sees he’s arrived. Another knock is at the door, and the police answer the door to reveal several larger men.
“Hey, I’m here to escort my coworker’s brother to his new temporary residence. We got a box for him!”
“Of course, he’s right in here.”
Twobert is a little surprised at how his brother manages to work with so many tough looking men but still managed to get threats sent to his work desk. Ruze gestures to the box, to which Twobert throws up an eyebrow at.
“It’s to get you downstairs with the rest of the boxes in case they have eyes on you still. We’ll load you into one of our vans with the tints in the back, and once it’s loaded up, you’ll be able to get out and sit in it properly. We’ll have the other guys bring the rest of your things after us.”
“And you know this’ll work?”
“Hasn’t failed me yet. Now are you getting in the box or not?”
“I guess…”

Liminal Spaces
Tumblr media
This also fills @felinesomnambulist's prompt of "only YOU could convince me to do something like this!” but I need to hold on to that ask for the second prompt.
“I hate you so much,” Jiang Cheng mutters, not for the first time but he still walks on.
“Come on, A-Cheng,” Nie Huaisang whines, hanging off Jiang Cheng’s arm, and his voice echoes eerily through the empty hallway.
“This is so bad,” Jiang Cheng mumbles, and he doesn’t even dare to imagine all the consequences this could have.
“It’s not that bad,” Nie Huaisang immediately gives back and dangles the key in front of Jiang Cheng. “I got this fair and square, so technically it’s not even breaking and entering.”
“You talked Lan Xichen into stealing this key from Lan Qiren so we could break into the school at night,” Jiang Cheng says, pinching the bridge of his nose because he can’t believe Nie Huaisang talked him into this.
“Yes, so it’s not even my crime,” Nie Huaisang says with the absolute conviction only fools can have and Jiang Cheng is absolutely helpless against it.
“I hate you so much,” he reiterates, because it bears repeating in Jiang Cheng’s mind, but Nie Huaisang only smiles at him.
“Come on, admit it,” he cajoles. “This is creepy and exciting and awesome.”
“Yeah, right until we get caught and I get disowned,” Jiang Cheng grumbles.
If his parents find out about this, he’s dead.
“But we won’t get caught,” Nie Huaisang reassures him and drags Jiang Cheng along. “And besides, would you rather I go with Wei Wuxian? Or would you rather go with him?”
Jiang Cheng snorts at the question.
“Only you could convince me to do something like this! And if you want to go with Wei Wuxian and risk serious repercussions because he doesn’t know how to behave, then please do feel free,” Jiang Cheng says and turns around on his heels, pretending he wants to leave.
“Noooooooo, please don’t do this to me, it’s too creepy alone,” Nie Huaisang almost yells and yet again his voice echoes.
“Be more quiet,” Jiang Cheng hisses, but to his chagrin that also carries and Nie Huaisang only laughs at him.
“Let’s get going,” Nie Huaisang says after he calmed down again and he keeps dragging Jiang Cheng away. “The faster we go on with this the sooner you can cross ‘visiting a liminal space’ off your bucket list and I can do the same with dancing on the bleachers.”
“You could totally dance on the bleachers during the day,” Jiang Cheng shoots back because it’s not like Nie Huaisang is ashamed of anything he does.
“But that’s not the point of it. It has to be exciting and slightly illegal,” Nie Huaisang gives back and Jiang Cheng stops dead in his tracks.
“So you admit it. It’s illegal.”
“Only a little bit. Not enough to get us into serious trouble, I promise,” Nie Huaisang reassures him, but Jiang Cheng doesn’t believe a single word he says.
This is going to end so badly.
“Let’s get this behind us,” Jiang Cheng decides and now he’s the one dragging Nie Huaisang along, but seriously, he just wants to get this over with so they can leave.
The sooner they leave the less chance there is for anyone to catch them. Or so Jiang Cheng hopes.
It’s not long before they get to the gym—this is their old school after all, so they know the ways—but it’s so much more creepy than Jiang Cheng imagined it to be. He hadn’t realized that people would make such a difference to the whole mood and he has to admit that he checks over his shoulder more than once on their way.
“Scared?” Nie Huaisang asks him, with a light jab of his elbow to Jiang Cheng’s side and with anyone else Jiang Cheng would snap but not with Nie Huaisang.
“Yes,” he admits, and relishes in the way Nie Huaisang’s eyes go wide.
“Oh,” he breathes out and then looks down. “I’m kinda scared, too. It’s so—empty and creepy. It shouldn’t be this empty,” Nie Huaisang says and Jiang Cheng smiles at him because this is why he feels he can be honest with Nie Huaisang.
“True. Now come on, I want to go home.”
They quickly make their way to the gym now, spurred on by their need to leave and soon enough they look up at the bleachers.
“You wanna dance on every row?”
“Yes,” Nie Huaisang decides and gets started on that immediately.
Jiang Cheng follows after him, though he’s much more careful about it and definitely doesn’t jump from row to row recklessly like Nie Huaisang does but they make their way up relatively soon.
“Well, that was kinda underwhelming,” Nie Huaisang decides and turns around to jump back down.
Except that he slips and falls off the row.
Jiang Cheng reaches out for him, and manages to get his hands on his arm, stopping Nie Huaisang from falling completely, but in turn Jiang Cheng slips off his own row.
And lands really badly on his foot.
“Fuck,” he yells, the ankle throbbing almost immediately, but he still keeps a hand on Nie Huaisang until he’s safely sitting down.
“You okay?” Jiang Cheng asks and Nie Huaisang looks at him with watery eyes.
“What does that even matter, you’re hurt!”
“It’s just sprained, I think,” Jiang Cheng tries to reassure him but when he puts weight on it—carefully, just testing the waters—pain laces up his entire leg. “Or maybe not,” he pants out, falling back onto the bleacher.
“We have to call someone,” Nie Huaisang says, already searching for his phone. “There’s no way you can bike back.”
He’s right, Jiang Cheng knows that, but he can’t call anyone. All of his options will get him into trouble and that seems so much worse to him than some simple pain.
“I can manage,” he presses out, but Nie Huaisang shakes his head.
“You can’t,” he decides and then he already has his phone pressed to his ear before Jiang Cheng can protest further.
The pain is suddenly secondary to the panic gripping Jiang Cheng’s heart, because he’ll be in so much trouble. His mother will yell at him for days, his father will either ignore him or hand him over to the police, his sister will be so disappointed and Wei Wuxian will be so mad that they didn’t take him with them, and seriously all of his options are bad.
“Huaisang, please, no,” he whispers, hoping to stop Nie Huaisang, but he simply waves him off.
“Da-ge? Yeah, so listen. Wanyin and I—we maybe, kinda, broke into our old school a little bit?” Nie Huaisang waits for a moment and Jiang Cheng can faintly hear Nie Mingjue yell at the other end of the line. “Maybe Wanyin got hurt saving me from falling? And maybe we can’t make our way back home on our own? And seeing as I have potentially the best da-ge in the world—oh, you’ll pick us up? How nice of you! We came through the side-entrance, you know the one, we’ll try to get there from the gym, but meet us halfway!” Nie Huaisang cheerfully says and then hangs up on Nie Mingjue.
“Huaisang,” Jiang Cheng hisses, and he’s sure his face must be absolutely pale because from all the possible options, getting yelled at by Nie Mingjue and disappointing him must be the worst of them.
They are on the verge of something, Jiang Cheng is aware of that—has to be really, with all the flirting they have been doing—but this is going to ruin everything. He would take being yelled at his by mother anytime over disappointing Nie Mingjue and ruining whatever chance he has with him.
“Don’t worry, da-ge has our backs.”
“He’s best friends with Lan Xichen. He’s going to rat us out. And even if he doesn’t, he’s going to be so disappointed.”
“Xichen gave us the key in the first place, I don’t see what he gets to say to this,” Nie Huaisang sniffs and then gets up. “And da-ge did way worse when he was younger. Alright, up you go, we have to limp a bit now.”
Jiang Cheng stares incredulously at him for a moment longer before he hauls himself up, balancing on one foot.
“This is going to suck so much,” he mutters, and then leans gratefully onto Nie Huaisang when he slides in under his arm.
“We’ll make it. Da-ge will handle the rest, you’ll see.”
“Your da-ge will kill me,” Jiang Cheng grumbles, but he starts limping along.
His foot is already swollen, he can tell, and putting any kind of weight on it hurts like hell, but somehow they make their way down the bleachers and across the gym.
They barely made it into the hallway when they hear something.
“Please let this be da-ge, please let this be da-ge, because otherwise this is the moment we die,” Nie Huaisang mutters.
“Huaisang!” Jiang Cheng hisses, because this is really not what he needs right now, but only a second later Nie Mingjue calls out.
“Huaisang? Wanyin?”
“Here, da-ge!” Nie Huaisang yells back immediately, and they simply wait for Nie Mingjue to find them.
“There you are,” he says once he comes into sight and takes in their appearance with one glance. “How bad?”
“Definitely sprained, maybe worse, he can’t walk on it at all,” Nie Huaisang sums up and then steps away and basically throws Jiang Cheng at Nie Mingjue.
Nie Mingjue catches him easily, and he steadies Jiang Cheng much better than Nie Huaisang did.
“You saved my idiot brother?” Nie Mingjue asks wryly and Jiang Cheng nods, much to Nie Huaisang’s protest. “Well done,” he praises him then and Jiang Cheng goes beet red in the face.
He hopes Nie Mingjue doesn’t notice.
“He didn’t want me to call you,” Nie Huaisang huffs when they start walking—well, hopping in Jiang Cheng’s case—and Jiang Cheng wishes he’d shut up.
“Why not?” Nie Mingjue asks but before anyone can answer he clicks his tongue. “No, actually, I see. Your parents. I wouldn’t call them either,” he says with a nod and then smiles at Jiang Cheng. “You can always call me.”
“Yeah, right,” Jiang Cheng bitterly says, because like hell he can.
Nie Mingjue is Nie Huaisang’s brother; of course he’ll come to help him. But if Jiang Cheng should need help, he doubts that Nie Mingjue would do the same.
“What?” Nie Mingjue asks and Nie Huaisang chimes in.
“He thinks he doesn’t have the right to call you, seeing as you’re my brother,” he helpfully explains and Jiang Cheng wishes he’d simply shut up.
And get out of his head.
“Ah, I see,” Nie Mingjue says and then stops in his tracks. “Okay then,” he decides and leans down to kiss Jiang Cheng.
Jiang Cheng is completely frozen for the first second but then he melts into it and he doesn’t even pay attention to Nie Huaisang’s screech.
“What was that?” Nie Huaisang wants to know when Nie Mingjue and Jiang Cheng part and while Jiang Cheng is still a little bit dazed, Nie Mingjue smiles.
“Well, we’ve been flirting for a while, right, Wanyin?” he asks and Jiang Cheng can only nod.
They had been, true, but he had thought that maybe they weren’t ready for this. It seems like he was wrong about that.
“And like this he can call his boyfriend to come to his rescue.”
It makes Jiang Cheng laugh, and lean a little bit more into Nie Mingjue, while Nie Huaisang still pretends that he would love to gauge his own eyes out.
“I think I can manage to do that,” Jiang Cheng fondly says and leans up for another brief kiss.
“Stop that,” Nie Huaisang demands.
“I’m hurt because of you, I can have a little comfort,” Jiang Cheng tells him and Nie Mingjue drops a kiss on his forehead.
“Or a lot comfort,” he decides and then gets them walking again. “We’re going to bandage your foot, and put some ice on it, and then you’ll stay with me on the couch.”
“What a hardship,” Jiang Cheng grumbles and then gives a cheeky grin to Nie Huaisang. “You have the best ideas, Huaisang, did I ever tell you?”
“I hate you both,” Nie Huaisang decides and stalks off without them.
He has to wait for them at the side-entrance to lock it again but he doesn’t speak to them at all during the ride back to the Nie house and it’s only when Nie Mingjue and Jiang Cheng are cuddled up on the couch that he comes back out, ice-cream for all of them in his hands.
“Because you—“ he gives Jiang Cheng a bowl— “are the best friend, and you—” one bowl for Nie Mingjue—“are the best brother. Now, I’m happy for you both, but let’s never talk about this again, it’s bad enough I have to see it.”
Jiang Cheng laughs at that just like Nie Mingjue does and then they settle all right in.
All in all, it was a very good breaking-and-entering.

“You’ll be careful, right?” You asked, straightening your boyfriend’s tie underneath his vest.
“Only if you are.” Spencer gave you that little awkward smile that he always gave you. “Besides, I’m not going with Agent Action Hero.” He motioned to Agent Morgan; your search partner for the evening.
“He’s not an action hero.” You laughed, strapping on your vest. “He just really likes kicking in doors.” Spencer snickered slightly, but his expression was still uncomfortable.
“You jealous that I’m riding with your girl Reid?” Morgan laughed, patting the younger agent on the back.
“Morgan.” You hissed, jerking your head towards Hotch.
“What? We all know about you and the brainiac.”
“Yeah, and Hotch doesn’t exactly like being reminded about it.” The relationship between you and Dr. Reid wasn’t exactly protocol, especially on the same team. You hadn’t quite been able to figure out why SSA Hotchner hadn’t reported you or told you to put an end to it.
“You guys better get going. We only have about five hours before he’ll likely kill Audrey Lang.” Spencer hooked his finger with yours, only for a moment, but it sent a sweet, tingling feeling up your arm. With both of you being new to any kind of serious relationship, you stuck to pretty small signs of affection. You didn’t mind. It was personal and perfect. Spencer went to join Hotch and you headed to the car with Morgan.
“Is it just me, or did Reid actually look kind of worried?” Morgan asked. It was more to tease you than from concern.
“Shut up.” You couldn’t help but grin. Morgan had that effect. You got into the passenger side and waited for his list of snarky comments. He wasn’t done poking fun at you yet.
“I have to say, you’ve got ‘rule breaker’ all over you, but I honestly did not see this coming from Dr. Teacher's-Pet.” He shook his head with a smug smile and started the car. You just sat and rolled your eyes. Any response would just mean more provocation. “But dating a younger man… I always pictured you as more of the ‘Silver Fox’ kinda girl.” Now that pressed your buttons.
“Okay, first of all, just because I like Richard Gere, doesn’t mean I like older men.” You retorted, “Secondly, I’m not even that much older than Reid. There’s what, three years, between us?”
“Uuuhuuuh.” The side eye he gave you made you want to slap him. Morgan chuckled. “Come on, you and I are friends, right? Don’t I get a few little details?” From the smirk on his face, you knew what he was talking about.
“Derek Morgan, we are on a case. We are professionals on a case about three murdered federal employees. I will not divulge information regarding my sex life!”
“I never said anything about sex, Agent Y/L/N.” His grin grew and you begrudgingly turned your face to the window. Morgan laughed at the red flushing your cheeks. You would be mad if he wasn’t your best friend.
In the other car, Reid rode beside Hotch in tense silence. Spencer knew that his relationship with you could potentially get both of you into trouble with the bureau. Every time he was around Hotch, he waited for the reprimand. The unusual quiet was almost worse. Hotch turned a corner and took a heavy breath.
“It’s a bad idea. You know that right?”
“I know it’s against the rules, if that’s what you mean.” As intimidating as his superior could be, Reid was sure of himself.
“The rules are there for a reason, Reid.” Hotch sighed. He would give anything to not be having this conversation right now.
“Have either of us proven to be less efficient?”
“That’s not the point.”
“If our relationship complicates our work, I can assure you that Y/N and I will be the first ones to address it.”
“Reid-”
“You know, if anything, I think that we’ve working better together than we have in the past, which is saying something because Y/N and I-”
“Are you happy?” He asked a little more aggressively than he had intended. Reid just blinked at him blankly.
“What?”
“Are both of you happy?” He glanced over at the younger agent and Spencer shifted in his seat. He was awkward, but assertive.
“I can’t totally speak for Y/N, but… yes.” He sat and waited for his superior’s response. Hotch fixed his eyes on the road.
“Okay.”
“I’m sorry?”
“I said okay.” Maybe he was going soft, but he’d never seen Reid or you like this before. If this relationship could help the both of you get through the horrors you saw every day, then turning a blind eye might not be the worst thing.
“Thank you.” Spencer felt a small smile creep onto his face. Hotch scowled.
“If a single problem arises, and I mean any dispute or laps in judgement-”
“You didn’t know anything about it. Got it.” Spencer stared at his lap to hide his smirk.
You were still avoiding Morgan’s inquiring gaze when Garcia’s voice came through your earpiece.
“Guys, Audrey Lang’s phone just turned on.”
“Where?” Morgan’s grip on the steering wheel tightened.
“157 21st Street.” Your stomach turned. As selfish as it was, a part of you had hoped that someone else would be closer. Morgan whirled the car around.
“That’s just around the corner from us. We’re right on top of him.” He slammed on the brakes in front of the house and the two of you jumped out of the car. The house was about what you expected from a paranoid, conspiracy-obsessed unsub. The windows were boarded up and two different cameras looked down at you from the roof.
“Morgan.” You pointed to the devices. Jacobs knew you were here. He nodded and spoke into his radio.
“This guy has surveillance everywhere. He’s going to panic.” He glanced back at you, waiting for you to have his back. Despite your building panic, you didn’t have time to hesitate. You gave him a strong nod. “We’re going in.”
You pushed your fear to the pit of your stomach. If you showed even the slightest panic, Morgan would know and you could jeopardize everything. So when he kicked in the door, you were right behind him.
The house was silent. With guns raised, you both covered the first floor, finding nothing but scattered notes and ‘Big Brother Is Watching’ flyers. You located a flight of stairs leading to the basement and cautiously followed Morgan down. Similarly to the floor above, the basement seemed other than a desk with a few surveillance screens. Across from the stairs was a large metal door. It was open.
Morgan charged towards it, but something wasn’t sitting right with you.
“Hotch, how close are you and Reid?” You asked tentatively.
“Five more minutes. Have you found Mrs. Lang?”
“She’s in here!” Morgan announced. You stepped into the room, but kept close to the door. Morgan was kneeling over the unconscious body of Audrey. While she was out cold, she was still breathing.
“What about Jacobs?” Hotch asked.
“We looked everywhere upstairs and he wasn’t there.”
“Reid, when you went to the other crime scene, you said that the victim had been covered and made to look like part of the rubble, right?”
“Yeah, Jacobs wanted to hide the body. If the construction worker hadn’t been working there, it likely wouldn't have been found.” Spencer’s voice wavered as he figured out where you were going with this. You looked at Morgan with wide eyes.
“Then how did we get here so easily?”
Hotch yelled into the radio.
“It’s a trap. Get out of there. Now!”
You whirled around and came face to face with Steven Jacobs. You fired your weapon, but didn’t get the chance to see if you hit him. Instead, you stumbled backwards and the large metal door slammed shut.
“No!” Morgan shouted, throwing his weight against the door to try and break it down. “Hotch, can you hear me? Reid!” The radio connection was dead. Morgan slammed against the door again.
“Derek.”
“We’re going to get out of here.” He searched the door for any point of weakness.
“Derek.”
“Let us out, you son of a bitch!”
“Derek!” You finally yelled. When he turned around you watched his face morph with panic. Blood leaked through your fingers, your hand pressed against the wound in your shoulder. It wasn’t your gun that had gone off, it was Jacobs’. And you were hit.
-
The street swarmed with teams from local police, S.W.A.T, and the BAU. In the middle of all of it was Spencer. He just stared at the front door. Somewhere in the basement of that house, his girlfriend and his closest friend were trapped by a paranoid schizophrenic with a gun. Neighbors reported already hearing a shot go off. Judging by the lights still on in the house and the fact that you and Morgan still hadn’t come out yet, it wasn’t one of your guns to make the shot.
“He must be using something to jam the signal.” Prentiss huffed, her attempts to get a hold of either of you failing. “We need to get in there.”
“We don’t know what Jacobs has in there.” Rossi said gruffly, joining them after meeting with the S.W.A.T leader. “For all we know, he could try and blow the whole block.”
“The longer we wait, the longer he has Morgan and Y/L/N.” Spencer ran his fingers through his hair. “Audrey Lang is probably dead and we don’t know who shot the gun or-”
“When they found her, Morgan didn’t say anything about Lang being dead.” Hotch said sternly.
“He didn’t say she was alive, either.” Spencer’s voice was harsh considering he was speaking to a superior.
“Reid, I want to get them out just as badly as you do, but if we try and storm in there, Jacobs will likely kill them and himself.” Hotch’s tone was stern and surprisingly calm.
“You thought you had me, didn’t you!?” A voice boomed from the house. Every agent in the street tensed and raised their weapons. Prentiss was the first to lower her gun.
“Look in the bushes.” She pointed to the shrubbery on either side of the door. “Speakers.”
“You all thought you would silence the truth! Well I’m smarter than you. That’s right. And I will not be silenced!”
Hotch looked at the hostage negotiator, who gave him the okay to talk.
“Mr. Jacobs we don’t want to silence you.”
“Tell that to the three spies in the other room.” Underneath Jacobs' voice was the sound of banging. Like fists against a door. Listening closer, Spencer could hear a yelling voice.
“Morgan.” He whispered to the others. They listened to the sound of their coworker- their friend- trying to break free.
“Jacobs you son of a bitch, we’ve got two injured people in here!” Derek screamed. You closed your eyes, trying to drown out the sound that was just making the pain worse.
“Derek, don’t antagonize him.” You grimaced, trying to keep pressure against the still gushing bullet hole in your shoulder. “It’ll just piss him off.”
“Y/N, we need to get paramedics in here. Audrey is barely breathing and you’re bleeding out.” He knelt in front of you, lifting your hand slightly to look at the wound.
“I thought you weren’t supposed to tell the patient they’re going to die.” You teased, trying to get your mind off of the guilt and regret. Derek winced.
“You’re not going to die. I didn’t mean that.”
“Go check on her.” You motioned towards Mrs. Lang. “I’ll be fine.” You adjusted slightly so your vest was in your lap. You had to take it off in order to tend to your wound and it left you vulnerable.
As Derek crossed the room, you felt your vision blur with tears. You should have told him. You should have told him.
Outside the tension was only getting worse. Jacobs had gone quiet and the team was itching to break the door down. Spencer was pacing, running through plan after plan in his head. If Garcia could hack into Jacobs’ system, they could cut the surveillance feed and go in. But if Jacobs noticed the hack, he would kill everyone inside. Finally, the shrill voice came back over the speakers.
“One of your spies is dead.” He laughed frantically, a madman slipping more and more into his delusion. Spencer froze. “She said she didn’t know anything, but I knew she was lying. You train them well, you know.”
“She.” Spencer whispered, the panic making his hands shake.
“Mr. Jacobs, which woman is dead?” Hotch asked carefully. Jacobs laughed again.
“You have chips in all of them, you tell me.”
“Mr. Jacobs, I need to know who died.” While he kept his gaze focused on the house, Hotch could tell that the team was holding their breath.
“Damnit!” Derek exclaimed, slamming his hand against the floor. Audrey was dead.
“There was nothing you could do, Derek.” You said grimly. You looked around at the metal walls and felt the last bit of hope leave you. “He’s going to kill all of us.”
“No, no, you don’t get to talk like that.” Derek crouched in front of you and put a hand on your cheek. “We are not going to die in here.” A tear slipped down your cheek and you shook your head.
“I never even got to tell him.” Maybe it was shock, but you started to hyperventilate. “I didn’t tell him, Derek.”
“Sweetheart, what are you talking about?”
“I didn’t tell Spencer.”
“Tell Reid what?” Derek’s eyes searched yours until you watched the realization on his face. “You’re not…”
“Yeah, Derek. I am.” You wiped another tear away. “I found out a couple of weeks ago.”
“You’ve known that long and haven’t told anybody?” He sighed, sitting down beside you. You laid your head on his shoulder.
“I’m telling you now, aren’t I?” You laughed humorously. “I know I should have told Hotch as soon as I found out, but I couldn’t tell him before I told Spencer and I just couldn’t figure out how to tell him.” Your voice cracked and Derek pressed a kiss to your temple.
“It’s okay. It’s going to be okay.”
It was eerily quiet. Jacobs had stopped his rambling and the sirens outside seemed distant now. Your hands fell to your stomach and you smiled sadly.
“Help me think of names.”
“Hmm?”
“Come on, distract me from the pain. Help me think of names for the little genius.” You shifted so that you were looking at Derek. “I was thinking that, if it’s a girl, I want to name her Diana. Spencer’s mom has always been such a big part of his life and I think that’s what he would want.”
“Diana is a beautiful name.” He gave you a sweet smile and took your hand in his. “What if it’s a boy?”
“See, I can’t make up my mind on that. I’m sure Spence would want some super smart author’s name or something, but... he’s the smartest person I know.” You spread your fingers over your belly, thinking about everything you had to lose.
“Well if Spencer Jr. doesn’t stick, you could always name him after your favorite profiler.” Derek chuckled. His smirk fell when he looked at the sorrow on your face.
“I need you to tell him.”
“What?”
“If I don’t…” You gulped. “If I don’t make it out of this, I don’t want him to find out from some doctor. I want him to hear it from you.”
“Don’t go there. Don’t you go there, you hear me?” He stood with new determination. “We are getting out of here and you and that wonder baby are going to be just fine.” He brought your hand up to his lips before turning towards the door.
“What are you-”
“Jacobs!” He pounded on the door. “I’m ready to talk! I’ll tell you anything you want to know.”
“Derek what are you doing?” You struggled to stand and Derek moved you to the wall beside the door and motioned for you to stay still.
“I’m ready to talk, Jacobs! You win!” You both readied your weapons and Derek stood in the corner.
It didn’t take long for Jacobs to take the bait. Slowly, the metal door opened and Jacobs cautiously stepped inside. His wild eyes locked on you and your gun and he charged towards you. Before he could get far, Derek kicked the door into him. The impact made him stumble forward into you, shoving you against the wall. Your head hit the concrete hard, disorienting you long enough for Jacobs to aim his gun at your stomach.
This time the shot wasn’t his. And you didn’t miss.
-
The second shot had everyone ready to go in. Teams were prepping when the front door opened.
“Hold your fire!” Morgan shouted. “I’ve got an injured agent here!” He emerged from the house walking as fast as he could. He was carrying you. Spencer broke into a sprint, rushing alongside him and trying to examine your injuries.
“What happened? Is she okay?” Before he could answer, paramedics swarmed them.
“She was shot in the left shoulder, no exit wound, and she’s lost a lot of blood. She also hit her head pretty hard, but she’s remained conscious.” He informed them.
“Sir, you’ll have to come with us so we can examine you as well.” One ordered.
“I’m coming with you.” Reid said firmly. Nobody argued with him and so they all climbed into the back of the ambulance.
They sat Morgan and Reid down and got you onto a gurney.
“Agent Y/L/N, can you hear me?”
“Agent Morgan, did you sustain any injuries in Mr. Jacobs’ basement?”
“Dr. Reid, I need you to stay over there.”
So many things were happening at once, Derek could barely get a word in.
“There’s something you need to know before you give her anything.” He told the woman tending to you. He finally looked at Reid. He’d been avoiding his gaze since he stepped out of the house, but now he had to keep his promise to you. He had to tell him. “She’s pregnant.”
The paramedics acted accordingly and Spencer just stared at him.
“What?”
“She’s pregnant, kid.” Derek put a hand on his shoulder, but he shrugged it off, his gaze shifting to you.
“That’s not… she would have told me. She would have-”
“She wanted to tell you. She was just scared.”
“Scared of what?”
“I don’t know, kid.”
“Don’t call me that!” Spencer pushed away from him.
“Sir, I need you to calm down-”
“Reid-”
“You should have waited! If you had waited for the rest of us, this wouldn’t have happened.”
“We were trying to save Audrey Lang.”
“Audrey Lang died!” Spencer snapped. “And now so could Y/N. She could die and could my…” He trailed off, his anger fading quickly into a devastated panic.
“This is really not the place for this argument.” One of the paramedics warned.
“She’s going to be okay, Reid. Her and your baby are going to be okay.” He pulled the younger agent into a hug, trying to convince himself as well.
-
The whole team was in the waiting room. Hotch watched Reid carefully as he paced relentlessly. Judging by the tension between him and Morgan, there was something the two weren’t saying.
The bodies of Audrey Lang and Steven Jacobs were found in his basement. Hotchner would be filling out the paperwork as soon as they found out your condition. When the doctor finally approached them, everyone was on the edge of their seats.
“Agent Y/L/N will have to wear a sling for her shoulder injury and she’s suffering from a concussion, but in time, she will make a full recovery.” Everyone breathed a sigh of relief. The doctor continued. “As for the other matter,” She gave Spencer a small smile, “she’s asking to speak to Dr. Reid before any other visitors.”
With everybody’s eyes on him, Spencer followed her back to your room. You looked a lot better now and you were giving him a nervous smile.
“Hey.”
“Hey.” He stood in the doorway for a moment, unable to move.
“I’m going to go fill out some forms, but I will be just down the hall if you need anything or have any questions.” The doctor said before leaving the two of you alone. Spencer shoved his hands in his pockets and slowly shuffled forward.
“Is everything okay?” He asked. “I mean… is the… are you-”
“We’re both fine, Spence.” You held your breath, waiting for him to react. Spencer pulled up a chair and took your hand in his. His hands were shaking slightly.
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
“Spence…”
“Were you that afraid of how I would react?”
“No!” You exclaimed, laying a hand on his cheek. “Spencer, I was afraid of everything. I was afraid of facing it. I love you and I want this child, I do. But… I know geological profiling and how to link victims and what to say to a grieving family. I don’t know how to be a parent.”
“You think I do?” He laughed anxiously. “I don’t know the first thing about being a dad. But…” He gulped. “I know that I have been happier with you than I have in my whole life. I don’t know a lot about love, but everything I do know, I know because of you. And if you can do that, then we can figure this out.”
A grin spread across your face and you pulled his lips to yours. You were too distracted by each other to notice the other figure at the door.
“I believe I was told something about naming a certain baby after me?” Derek smirked. Spencer gave you a look.
“You’re delusional, Morgan.” You laughed. Derek looked at Reid.
“Are we good, kid?”
Spencer smiled.
“Yeah. We’re good.”

[Warnings] dark peter parker x innocent reader, reader is extremely innocent, manipulation, male/female masturbation, somnophilia, stepcest, hj, vaginal sex but not really?
A/N: This is based off a request I got for a innocent reader where Peter teachers her about sex. Reader is 18 and Peter is around 21. DARK THEMES SO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK
In which you’re May and Happy’s foster kid and Peter takes advantage of your innocence.
Like, reblog and let me know what you think!
word count: 2.9k
You came home from school like it was a normal day. Walking up the steps to your family’s brownstone, clad in your school uniform, and loud music blaring in your headphones, “May!” You shouted too loudly, walking down the hallway towards the kitchen, “Did my package come?”
You stopped in your tracks as you saw three figures standing in the living room. Happy, May, and … some kid you didn’t know. Your eyebrows raised in confusion at the young man standing with your foster parents.
“Y/N, this is my son Peter!” May smiled, trying not to be awkward. She approached you, urging you forward. Now you recognized him and your eyes widened because of how easily you missed it. He was in all the photos on the mantle but, now, he looked a bit older.
You were not what Peter expected, at all. By May’s description of you, he thought you might be a middle schooler. His eyes trailed over you, the way you filled out your uniform … Peter snapped out of it, moving forward to hold out his hand to you.
“Hi, I’m-” Interrupting him and surprising him at the same time, you went in for a hug. Peter hesitated for a moment before hugging you back. You noticed he had a strong grip.
“She’s a hugger,” You heard May whisper.
You pulled away and offered your hand for him to shake. He took it, smiling, but still a little confused by the long greeting, “I’m Y/N. You look just like May! I mean, you’re very pretty like her.” Happy always went on about how pretty May was and you always agreed.
You watched as his cheeks reddened. Was it something you said? ''Thank you very much, I haven’t heard that one before.”
You looked back at May who seemed to improve the interaction. You smiled, worrying that you had made him nervous, “Peter finally has a break from his busy schedule to come see us. He’ll be here with us for at least a week. May and I thought this would be a good time for you two to get to know each other.”
May had taken you in two years ago but this was the first time you were officially meeting Peter. He was always halfway around the world fighting crime and could only stop at May’s work every once and awhile. You never thought you’d ever have a full family like all the people on the television did.
“That sounds like a lot of fun,” You heard Peter say and your heart did a little backflip. Your very own big brother.  “What’s this about a package?”
“Oh,” Your face fell, “Uhm, they’re just books.”
Peter gave you a look of inquiry, stuffing his hands into his pockets, “You like to read? What kind of books?”
You opened your mouth to make up some excuse but Happy interrupted you, “I put your package on your bed, sweetheart. Why don’t you show Peter his new room?” Right, you had taken Peter’s old room.
“Okay!” You perked back up, glad the subject of books was over, “Follow me, big brother!”
That was easy, Peter thought. She didn’t seem to give a second thought about accepting him which was endearing but scared Peter to a certain extent. How trusting was she exactly? May had warned him that she was a little eccentric … and a little emotional.
Peter tried to keep his focus up as he followed you up the stairs. A part of him was a little let down that you were wearing shorts beneath your plaid skirt.
“May says you have like a sixth sense. And that you can sense when danger is near. She talks about you a lot, you know? You call it a Peter tingle, right? I thought that was a really cute name but I’m not supposed to bring it up around you apparently-” You were rambling, as usual, and had passed your bedroom but you noticed that Peter wasn’t following you anymore.
“You made it pink,” You heard Peter say as he peeked into your room. He adjusted the black backpack on his shoulder and you couldn’t help but notice his muscles. He was like the boys you read about in your books but … he was technically your stepbrother.
You walked toward him, “May said I could decorate it how I wanted. Do you hate it? You hate it, don’t you? I’m really sorry. It’s just that it’s my favorite color and-”
“No way, I like it!” He quickly assured you, not wanting to see what happened when you finally ran out of air. Peter walked inside and you followed him. There was no twin bed anymore but a regular-sized bed with a white canopy.
There was a pile of stuffed animals in the corner that Peter noted, “You have a lot of stuffed animals …”
“Those are the ones they give you in family court,” You explained to him before pointing over to your bed, “I keep the ones Happy and May give me on the bed, those are my favorite.”
“I see,” You spoke so casually about being in family court that it made Peter wonder what your story was. There were at least ten stuffed animals there, “Which one’s your favorite?”
You liked that question, smiling wide, as you walked over to your bed. Peter watched you carefully as you bent over to grab a gray penguin, “I like penguins a lot. My first Christmas here, May got me this and a penguin puzzle. I’ve done it a million times now but we could put it together if you wanted.”
“I can’t imagine anything better, Y/N.”
You were going to be very fun to get to know, Peter thought.
+
The family had gone out to dinner that night and had been the rest of the evening putting together a hundred piece, penguin puzzle. It was one of the best days of your life and, as you expected, having a family was wonderful. Having Peter was just an extra bonus. You wished he didn’t have to leave.
The next day, as you walked down the steps that lead from your school, you didn’t expect to find Peter waiting for you. You ran up to him and hugged him, of course, and you savored the moment when his strong arms were around you. Some girls you didn’t know gasped and practically swooned as they watched you two.
“I have strict orders to take you straight home so you can start right away on your homework,” You frowned until Peter continued, “But I think we should stop for ice cream.”
You were practically bouncing with excitement as Peter grabbed your hand and lead you down the street.
At the small parlor, you licked at a cone of chocolate ice cream while Peter stuck his spoon into his ice cream sundae. Peter’s eyes wandered over to your mouth, imagining your wrap your lips around his-
“You never said what you liked to read, Y/N.”
You blushed, your nose wrinkling, as the embarrassment filled you, “It’s silly … you don’t want to hear about it.”
“I do,” Peter insisted, “I won’t tell anyone, don’t worry.”
You took a breath, “They’re … they’re romance novels. It’s a series one of my friends at school told me about. She thinks I’m too … too babyish. Apparently, there are scenes in it ... “
“Scenes like what?” You blushed even more.
“Bad scenes,” you whispered and Peter pretended to think the subject was taboo, “She wants me to learn about … dirty stuff. These guys are taking us to prom and she wants … she wants us to have our ‘first times’ together. I don’t even know what that means! But I can’t tell her that or she’ll think I’m even weirder than I already am to her.”
Buried treasure. Peter had stumbled upon pure gold.
“Y/N, you’re talking about sex?” Peter narrowed his eyes at you.
“Sex?” You spoke the word like it was completely foreign on your tongue, “I think that’s it. Sounds gross, right?”
Peter couldn’t help but chuckle, “It’s kinda gross if you think about it too deeply but it’s not meant to be gross. It’s not as scary as you think. It’s quite beautiful, actually.”
Her eyes went wide, “You’ve done it a bunch, haven’t you?”
Peter shrugged, “A few times but only with special people. If the guy who’s taking you to prom isn’t special then you definitely shouldn’t give him your first time.” Peter would have to do some research on this guy and make sure he didn’t even think about coming near her.
You looked solemnly at your melting ice cream, “I must be a total weirdo then …”
“You’re not, Y/N, trust me. Eighteen is still young.”
You leaned forward, whispering, “I haven’t even kissed anyone, Peter. People do that in middle school.”
Peter leaned forward next, entrancing you with his eyes, “Do you really want to get some experience? Because … I could help you. I’m probably better than those trashy books.”
You raised an eyebrow, “Do brothers and sisters normally talk about stuff like this?”
“Don’t you want to be friends too?” You instantly nodded, “Then I can help you out, as a brother and a friend. But if you want to read your books-”
“No, no, you can teach me!”
And you easily stepped into his trap.
+
That night, Peter slipped out of his room clad in his pajamas. Your door slowly creaked open and you sat up in your bed. You rubbed the tired from your eyes as Peter peaked in, “My room is freezing … and I can hear Happy snoring through the walls.”
You pulled back your comforter, patting the spot next to you, “You can sleep in here with me,” Peter entered all the way before slowly shutting the door.
“Really? I can sleep on the floor …”
You shook your head, “It’ll be like a sleepover.”
Peter moved in the darkness, climbing in beside you. You pulled the covers over him and you both lay down. Peter watched as you turned over before tiredly murmuring, “Goodnight, Peter.”
“Goodnight, Y/N.”
Peter waited a good hour before moving closer to you. In a slow movement, he had pressed himself against you, taking in the scent of your hair, as he admired the lines of your body. It was a risk but he touched your waist, his hands trailing over to your stomach. He felt the soft skin of your back as well before reaching into his pants.
He touched himself to the thought of you and he almost panicked as you moved. You turned to your other side, not facing him. Watching your sleeping face sent Peter over the edge and he muffled his grunts with a pillow.
He wasn’t in your bed when you awoke the next morning.

Happy had surprised May with a romantic dinner that night so Peter and you were left alone that evening. You were brushing your teeth in your jack and jill bathroom when Peter walked in suddenly. You looked over to see him only wearing a pair of basketball shorts.
You blushed, looking back at the mirror before spitting out the foam in your mouth. He stalked closer to you and you noticed something different in the look in his eyes, “I was thinking something, Y/N, about what you told me at the ice cream shop.”
You put away your toothbrush, turning off the sink before wiping your mouth with a hand towel, “I thought you had forgotten …”
Peter smirked, “Far from it, actually. I was thinking about how you said you want more experience. With kissing boys and things like that, right?”
You nodded slowly, growing nervous.
“I think the first thing you should learn is how to pleasure yourself before you learn about pleasuring someone else,” He held your hand, rubbing soothing circles into your palm.
“Pleasure?”
Peter nodded, “Sex is all about pleasure,” Peter held your hand it slowly brought it against his crotch. You felt something hard and flinched away, “It’s okay, don’t worry.”
It was such a weird feeling. Only recently had you learned that boys and girls even had different parts.
“Right here is where guys can feel pleasure,” Then Peter reached out to touch you. Through the fabric of pajama pants, you could feel his fingers brush against your folds, “This is where girl’s feel pleasure. Let me show you.”
He assured you that everything was going to be okay as he slid down your shorts. Before you could step out of them, Peter swiftly lifted you onto the counter and you yelped at the sudden movement.
He took your hand and pressed your fingers against your crotch. He tried to guide you as best as he could, standing between your spread legs, “Oh my stars …” You breathed out, savoring the foreign new feeling. You wanted to run away from it and run to it at the same time. You looked at Peter with frightened eyes as he slowly moved his hands away.
“That’s it, good girl, keep rubbing,” He praised you, loving the sight of you discovering your own body. You kept going, rubbing circles over that sensitive area through your light pink panties. You leaned back, lifting a leg on the counter, so you could get a better angle.
“Is this good Peter?”
“You’re doing great, Y/N. Doesn’t that feel good?”
You nodded, practically whimpering. You looked at Peter differently than before, you didn’t see the boy you saw before. You thought about how handsome he was and how sweet he’s been to you all week. You felt the wetness growing beneath your legs and you blushed as you look down, “Peter, I-I  think I’m peeing …”
Peter gave you an amused smile, “That just means that you like it, Y/N. That you’re aroused,” Peter grabbed your hand and moved it away from your crotch. You found yourself missing the feeling and you watched as he slid off his pants and underwear. The sight of his manhood felt foreign but aroused you at the same time.
Peter slowly palmed his manhood as he leaned into you. You practically froze as his lips touched yours. He didn’t even have to speak because as he slowly left soft pecks on your lips, you started to lean back into him. Your hands touched his neck as you started to move your lips against his. You liked it … No, you loved it, “Your lips feel squishy,” You gushed and Peter laughed, turning his head as the kiss became more passionate.
You let your leg fall back over the counter and, as it did, Peter slowly slid off your underwear. Then suddenly, he lifted you. You wrapped your legs around him as he carried you into your room. He sat on your bed, leading you to straddle him.
“I want to try something,” Peter said before pecking your lips again.
You were all in.
He laid back on your bed, and you sat on his legs, “Touch my cock,” You thought the word was silly but you could tell what he meant. It felt harder than you expected and as you gripped it on your hand, a guttural moan exploded from Peter, “Spit on it.”
“Peter-”
“It’s okay, it’ll feel better that way,” He tried to assure you and you hesitated before pulling your hair back. The trail of spit fell onto his member and you felt gross for a moment until you saw his reaction.
That sound he was making you even wetter.
Peter grabbed your legs, pulling you up more until your private parts were positioned right over his, “I want you to rub yourself against me, can you do that?” Peter asked. With all his fantasies coming true, he wasn’t sure how long he’d last.
You nodded. You held onto Peter’s chest as you slowly dragged your private parts against his. His cock was pressed against his stomach and your lips moved up and down his length. You felt it then. That pleasure and his pleasure mixing. You kept going, starting to feel something building up in your core.
You bit down on your lips, liking the feeling of when his tip rubbed against your sensitive bulb. Your wetness acting as even more lubrication, you thought you were making quite the mess but Peter didn’t seem to mind.
You moved faster, Peter’s groans encouraging you and your curiosity of that thing building up inside you kept you going. Your toes curled as you got the feeling of a waterfall rushing off a cliff. Your mind went blank for a moment and your body shook as that damn finally broke.
You moaned, riding out the feeling and that's' when you felt Peter convulsing. You felt his cock twitch as white spilled from the tip of his member and onto his stomach. Peter’s head rested all the way back and you couldn’t help but smile as you realized that you had both reached your tipping points.
“Well, was that it? Did I do sex?”
“Sort of,” Peter said, completely out of breath. The eagerness in your eyes wasn’t something he expected, “You have a lot more to learn, Y/N.”
“Then can we do it again, Peter?”

Singing in the Dead of Night
Damian Wayne meets a new masked persona in Gotham, and everyone has to adjust to her.
AKA I have a lot of headcanons about Lucy Quinzel and I'm making it other people's problem.
I want it up front that I haven't read these comics, just a lot of wiki pages and tiktoks. If there's a fun thing in the comics you can tell me, but this is my own version of this universe and these characters.
This is going to be the main story, but I may do some offshoots. If you want to subscribe, chapters are also posted on my Ao3 (link in my description).
“You need to take things less seriously.”
Damian looked up, looked down, and then looked back just to be sure it was really his father who asked. It was hard to tell sometimes if your superhero father had been replaced or possessed or something. “Are you serious? YOU’RE telling me that?”
“That should enforce to you how dire the situation is.” Bruce said, leaning back in his chair. “You’re still a kid,”
“I’m 15,” Damian said, then thought about his varied adventures, “Technically…”
“My point exactly,” Bruce said, turning a page on his crime reports, “You should enjoy being a kid, for a while.”
“Oh, did you enjoy being 15?” Damian said, and maybe that was a low blow, but if Bruce wasn’t ready for him to call him out he...shouldn’t have made him upset. Hmm.
Bruce looked up and stared into his soul, and Damian worried he might have stepped in it a bit. He backed up a step in case. Bruce took a deep breath, looking at him. “My childhood was stolen from me, but I at least had one. As did all the other Robins. You’re not responsible for what happened to you,but I think you could use some time. I couldn’t offer you a childhood then, and I can hardly do that now, I know, but I can do what I can.”
“And what are you doing?” Damian asked, narrowing his eyes.
“You’re suspended from Robin duties.”
“WHAT?!” Damian exploded, getting in his face. “What are you talking about?!”
Bruce didn’t flinch, “Until the Wayne Manor Christmas Party,” Bruce said, “I’ve called Tim and he’s willing to cover for you until then.”
“He doesn’t NEED to cover me,” Damian snarled, “I’m right here! I’m not injured, or dead, or ANYTHING I just--WHY?”
“I told you,” Bruce said, “You need to find other...hobbies, or form connections or SOMEthing. Anything other than the lifestyle. You have two months, you’ll live.”
Damian curled his fists, shaking, but had no more arguments. “You’re the WORST!” He said, and went off to his rooms.
The room was left in stony silence for a moment. Alfred came in, changing out Bruce’s cup of tea. “You don’t actually expect that to work, do you?”
“Not really, no,” Bruce said, “But he’ll be out of my hair for a little bit.”
Alfred was very dignified and so did not snort. But it was close.
Damian went out at night, saying he was off with a friend. Best to keep things vague, but if Bruce pressed, he’d say he was with Jon, and could probably bully Jon into vouching for him.
He dressed all in black, jumping from the rooftops, looking for trouble. There was usually plenty of it in Gotham. He just had to avoid the Bat Signal hanging in the sky and he’d be fine.
He heard a crash and looked down. Jewelry store robbery. Perfect.
He jumped down to ground level and approached the broken in window, taking out his sword. “Anyone in here, it’s better to surrender now,”
Of course, because it was Gotham, he wasn’t met by a normal jewel thief. No, instead, what approached him was a small walking orange balloon animal dog.
Because of course it was.
With an act first, think later attitude, he stabbed at it. He regretted it instantly as it let out some sort of opaque gas, the effects of which he didn’t want to find out. He pulled his shirt up over his mouth in hopes of preventing himself breathing too much in.
“Oh wow,” a voice said behind him, “Are you Robin?”
Damian whipped around and scowled. The gas was obscuring whoever was there, but the silhouette seemed like something of a ballerina. Why couldn’t one criminal just be normal?
He jumped back, ready to attack, but she didn’t fight him. “I’m not Robin,” he said, “I’m…” he didn’t think of another name. Ugh, this was more complicated than it needed to be.
“Huh,” she said, heading over to the display case, “This city sure has a lot of teenage ninja fighters, doesn’t it? Is ninja appropriative? Hmm, will have to think on that.”
She picked up a diamond ring from the display case and headed for the door. “Put that down!” Damian yelled at her, lifting his sword up.
“What, are you going to kill me for one ring?” She said, holding it, “Kinda overkill, don’t you think, Blackbird?”
Damian put his sword up to her, blocking the exit. “I’m not going to kill you, I’m just going to stop you,” he said, determined, but then her words sank in. “Blackbird?”
“Well, I’ve got to call you something, isn’t that how these superhero fights all go?” She stepped forward out of the fog, a girl about his age with a white painted face, lips painted into a heart, and bright orange and pink eyeshadow. “I’m Commedia, the hero of funny, the dancing clown, the laughing knight, etc etc.” she said, “im still working on my name too.”
She did a fancy twirl, getting out of range of Damian’s sword, which he countered to block her from the entrance again. “Oh, you like to dance?” she said.
“Clown, huh?” he said, staring her down, “You work for the joker?”
She laughed, high pitched and sweet, “Very much no,” she said, twirling again through the store, “Though I understand the confusion. No, Joker is...well, a joke. He’s not even registered in the clown registry.”
“There’s a clown registry?” He swung his sword.
This time, it came to a stop, with a matching jingle. He frowned, and saw it was a tambourine that the woman had lifted and stopped the sword like a shield.
He stared at the girl, Commedia, in stunned silence. She smiled brightly at him. “Well, this has been fun. But I really ought to head out. Raincheck on that dance, Blackbird.”
With a spin and a jump, she made it past him and rushed out the door, throwing a pink flower behind. A gas filled up the room in her wake, obscuring the view. Damian unfortunately got a whiff before he could block his nose, but he knew a simple fog cloud scent when he smelled it.
Damian went back into the shadows before the police inevitably arrived. It did seem below his paygrade, fighting someone who only stole a single diamond ring. But it was even stranger for that fact. A strangely dressed clown woman engaging in very strange and specific crimes in Gotham screamed “beginning of a dangerous plot.”
He wanted to go in swinging as usual, then remembered that if his father heard anything about a young person with a sword threatening police, he might catch onto the fact Damian went out that night. So, he went with the subtle approach. Breaking into the jewelry store’s records.
He was glad he did. It turned out that ring in particular had a history. It had been bought, returned, bought again, and returned once more, all by the same man, a Matthew Crenshaw. A quick records search brought up that he was a simple caller at a center. Nothing special about him. But, he was tied to the ring, and that tied him to the girl, so that was his first stop.
He tracked down the apartment to find Matthew Crenshaw in the middle of a very strange day. Damien watched through the window as Matthew lay on the floor of his meager living room, looking up at Commedia herself. She held the ring out to him, offering. “Well come on, man! Take it!”
“I don’t…” he mumbled, “Who...who are you?!”
“Just call me your fairy godmother,” she said. “Come on, you said you wanted it! So take it!”
“That’s…” Matthew said, “That’s the ring that Jenny liked...that she…”
“That you said would make the perfect proposal!” She said, dancing around, “So? Here it is! Now you can propose for real!” she said, giving it to him.
He juggled it, nearly falling over. Commedia came rushing over, jumping through the window and onto the fire escape. “Alright, hands up,” Damian urged her.
She turned, smiling. “Why, Blackbird? We going on roller coaster?” She put her hands high in the air and swung around the fire escape ladder, “Weeeeee!”
Damian followed her, pointing his sword tip at her chest. “Stop,” he said, “What are you planning?”
“Well, I’m planning to go sneak up to that window up there so I can look in and see what Matty and Jenny have going on,” She said, “Wanna join--OH!”
Damian pressed his sword up to her neck. “Cut the games,” He said, “You’re up to something, I know it. So tell me.”
Commedia sighed, giving in. “Matthew doesn’t want to get married.”
“I...what?” Damian said, confused.
“Matthew Crenshaw, the guy up there,” Commedia said, “He’s a nice guy, and he cares for his girlfriend Jenny, sure. But she’s been pressuring him about getting married, even though he doesn’t really like the idea of getting married. He’s talked himself into saying that he needs the perfect ring, but when he bought it, he decided he couldn’t afford it, and gave it back. So, I got it for him.”
Damian’s scowl only deepened as she kept talking. “Who’s he to you?”
She tilted her head, confused. “He cold called me to try and offer me a deal on car insurance.”
Damian put down the sword. He just. She said it so sincerely. “Who ARE you?” He demanded, now out of confusion more than anger.
She smiled brightly once more. “Why, I’m Commedia! The hero clown, the dancing--”
“Yeah, you said all that before, but like,” He sighed, “Why?”
Commedia’s smile fell down to something simple and kind. She offered a hand to him.
Hesitant, curious, and just...confused, he took it.
She led him to the other window, where they saw Jenny walking through the door. She gasped and ran to Matthew. “Oh, Matt! Matt, yes! Yes, I do, I do, I never thought this day would come! Oh gosh, I gotta call my mom, I’ve got a few dresses all picked out. You’ll see, it’ll be a huge party with everyone we know and-”
“Jenny,” he said, “Jenny wait, I...you know I don’t...I’m not comfortable with crowds and...and I don’t--
“But it’s MY DAY!” Jenny wailed, “You wouldn’t take MY day from me, would you?”
“C’mon,” Commedia muttered.
“Please, Jen,” Matt continued, “Look it’s just...if, if we did get married, shouldn’t--wouldn’t it be my day too?”
“Oh come ON, Matt,” Jenny said, walking to the counter, “We both know I’m the one who knows what’s best for you. It’ll be good! You’ll finally get to shine, and if you don’t like it, you’ll have ME there to take the rest of the spotlight!”
Matt’s hands balled into fists, and his face set, “No.”
“What?” Jenny said, incredulous.
“I’ve had it! I’m tired of-of you telling me what I like and what I don’t!” his lip trembled as he stood up. “I knew I was hesitant, but I didn’t know why! Now I see it’s becasue I didn’t want you in the rest of my life!”
“Hey now,” Jenny said, “Matt, calm down--”
“Get out of my house!” Matt went to the open window Commedia left behind and tossed out the ring.
“Whoopsies,” Commedia said and dropped away. Damian, confused, dropped down after her.
She picked the ring up from the ground and held it out to Damian. “I trust you can get this back to the jewelry store.”
“So, all of that…” he said, “was to help a guy get out of a bad relationship? That you barely knew?”
“He sounded sad on the phone,” Commedia said, “Made me curious.”
Damian scoffed, staring at her. “Who ARE you?”
She chuckled. “My guess is you’ll find out sooner or later,” she said, “So I’ll pick later, for now. But I’m sure I’ll see you again soon, Blackbird.”
She took out another flower. This one shot off into the distance like a grappling hook, and pulled her twirling into the night.
Damian could have followed her, maybe. But, holding the ring in his hands, he didn’t see much need to.
Across town, Batman was called to a bank robbery in the middle of the night. Inside, however, he didn’t find the vault broken in, and nothing stolen, other than a number of complimentary lollipops. “You know there are easier ways to get my attention.”
“Aw, Come on Bats!” Harley said, swinging from the ceiling with one of the lollipops in her mouth, “Ain’t this a classic? Brings me back to the old days.”
“Oh, you’ve stopped doing crime then?” He said, leaning back and looking up at her, “News to me.”
Harley flipped down in front of him. “Batsy, you know I’m tryin’! I do good, is it a crime to have a little fun while I do it?”
“If you hurt people, yes.” Batman said.
Harley deflated. “I haven’t done that in a while now. I’m goin through some life changes.”
Batman hummed, staring down at her. “I’m guessing this is about the small clown that has been reported around town recently doing strange acts of minor crimes to help people?”
Harley brightened again, balancing on the teller counter. “She’s my new apprentice! A bit of a goody-two-shoes, but I’m doing my best to train her.” She did a handstand, “I came to ask for some advice at raising child soldiers, considering you have so much experience.”
Batman always scowled, but it seemed his scowl deepened on that. “I help some people come to terms with terrible things that have happened to them, and teach them to be a force of good in the world instead of falling to the world’s darkness.” He thought back on his children, “It doesn’t always work.”
Harley laughed, “No kidding,” she said. She sighed, thinking. “To be honest, Commedia is already pretty good. I can’t claim credit for that.” She rocked back and forth, feeling uneasy.
Batman approached, slow so as not to scare her. “Well, we both know she didn’t get it from her father.”
Her face was already white, but she blanched further. “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” she said, “She’s my niece, she ran from home so I’m taking care of her and-”
“Harley,” Batman stopped her rambling, “I’m a detective, remember?”
She frowned, shaking at him. “He doesn’t know,” she said, “No one knows, she...she’s never met him and I don’t want her to I--”
Batman held up his hands, stopping her again. “I know,” he said, “I understand, really. And I’ll help.”
She blinked up at him, smiling. “Really?”
Batman nodded. “I’ll help you protect her. As for advice....if you ever figure out a perfect way to raise masked vigilantes, let me know. I mostly just do the best I can, and make sure they can do a proper spin-kick if they need to.”
Harley snorted. “I’ll make a note of that.” She grabbed the box of free lollies on the counter, “I am going to be robbing these though, and you can’t stop me.”
She headed for the back entrance and away. “Harley,” Batman called her again, and she froze, “The year you were gone, when you disappeared and suddenly your sister had a child she wasn’t pregnant with. I want you to know, I noticed.”
Harley smiled, turning, “Thanks Bats-” When she turned, he was gone. “And people call me a drama queen.”

something good
3.1.21
note: this is kinda inspired by the song ‘something good’ from ‘the sound of music’. enjoy some loki being absolutely WHIPPED for the reader!
loki series masterlist / request a part! / masterlist
---
Loki can hardly believe his luck. He finds himself far too often doubting whether this is real, or just another of his own illusions. Sometimes he’ll reach out to feel your hand, just to reassure himself again. But no, he could never make illusions this good. This kind. This loving. He’s good, but not that good.
“Why did you come to New York, again?”
“To take control of all of humanity.”
“Oh, right…  ‘Cause it kinda looked like you were auditioning for ‘America’s Next Top Model’!”.
He’s not blind to who he is. Who he’s been. He knows the records of his offences better than anyone. The childhood full of mockery and always-second-best, leading up to an adulthood of crimes and deceit. But he can’t help but believe -- or hope, at least -- that something, somewhere in him, must’ve stayed good. How else could you kiss him the way you do? How else would you hold him at night?
“Move over, you’re hogging the blanket.”
“Oh, boohoo, cry baby. You’re a freaking ice block, you’re lucky if I don’t wake up with a frost-bite…”
He struggles to describe you. Every night he tries, every night he fails. You’re not perfect in any manner. But neither is he, so why worry? In his mind, you’re an enigma. A math problem more complicated than life itself, waiting for him to solve you. Those moments only last a few minutes -- you’ll always do something in the style of taking his hand, or kissing him a bit too tight. Then he’ll realize again that you’re not some equation. You’re a heart, and a brain, and a living body. And he’ll love you even more.
“D’you ever think about the fact that the moment you’re born, you start to decay and die?”
“No. But the fact that I’m immortal could contribute to the lack of thought I’ve given to it.”
Exactly how he feels about you isn’t something he’d ever tell you. He wouldn't have the words. Forget years of public speaking lessons, in graceful countenance and perfect manners -- He will look at you once and forget how to breathe. He becomes a helpless fool within a six feet radius of you. All choked up and sweating about the sweet words he wants you to know from him. It sometimes comes to the point where you’ll actually start to worry about him.
“What’s wrong with you?”
“What? Nothing-- I just thought of…  a thing.”
More often than not, that thing is you.
The final thing about you hurts his heart a great deal. It’s a heart-breaking realization, not even fit for a god. Slowly, but surely, Loki may start to believe that if you can love him, then maybe, just maybe…  he can love himself too someday.

The Death of Peter Parker
My AO3: Anonymous_Random_Potato
Summery: Peter Parker dies. Matt using a time travel machine and has 12 hours to save the one person he can't live without. Happy ending don't worry. Fluffy and and little bit of angst.
Wrote this for my birthday (May 18th). Kinda bad but there's more spideydevil in the world so it's not all too bad.
Matthew Murdock Apartment, Hell's Kitchen.Friday, September 23rd 2016"Crime rates have risen up 48 percent especially in the two weeks since the hero Spiderman has died. The avengers were able to take down sinister 6 members Doctor Octopus, Mister Negative, Electro, Vulture, Rhino and Scorpion that teamed up with both the Green Goblin and Beetle but while Spiderman fought as hard as he could his death was one of the many casualties of the night. Which leaves the question 'Who can protect New York City-" The news anchor voice being killed by the silence as the man shuts off the TV the only sounds are footsteps and the tv remote hitting the ground."I'm sorry Peter. I'm so sorry. You were right the fight was going to be big. I- I never should have let you fight them alone, I- Maybe- maybe you would still be here." Matt says to the window unseeing eyes watering. "I'm going to make this right I promise."
Peter Parker's lab in his Apartment, Queens
Monday, April 4th, 2016
"Matthew, you are one of the people I trust most in the world I need you to do something for me. Once I tell you about this you can't tell anyone about this. Not Foggy, not Karen, not Claire, not even Father Lantom, No one outside this room can know about this. Can you promise me this. Please." Peter Pleads his friend.
"Nothing said in here will leave this room if that what you want." Matt Promises Peter somewhat willing to break his promise if peter was in huge Trouble. "Just Please tell me your not in Serious Danger."
"No- no, oh no it's nothing like that. I- just- kinda- MadeamachinethatwouldallowmetotravelbackintimeforhalfdayandIcouldsavemyuncle."  Peter finishes too quick even for the devil enhanced hearing to pick up on.
"My hearing good but you're going to have to slow down" Matt tells the spider. "What did you make?"
"A machine that could let me travel to the past for 12 hours that I could use to save my uncle. Which is why I need you to protected it from everyone even me it's too dangerous and could have crazy side affects to the timeline." The younger man explains and gives him a piece of paper with braille on it. "It can be voice activated if something happens and you need to destroy it. the paper has everything needed to know about how to destroy it. So please promise me that it will never be used."
Friday, September 23rd 2016
"I'm sorry I need to break our promise but the world lost a bit of it's soul the day you died. New York did. Your Aunt did. Your Friends. And Me. The world Needs you. Not just as Spider-Man but as Peter Parker too. I know I messed up but I'll fix it."
New York City
Saturday, September 3rd, 2016
"Step 1. Find myself. Shit what was I doing today. It's Saturday. So no church and I'm not at work and claire is out of town. So my apartment, Peter's or Fog's? I'll go to Foggy he will at least have some common sense and Peter is going to be mad at me for breaking our promise so Foggy seems like the save bet." Matt tells himself. "It will fine Matt it's not like he'll know that I traveled back in time."
BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP
Peter looked at his watch confused. He put a tracker on the Time-Traveler (not his best work but oh well) if it was to ever get in the wrong and and ever was used to change the timeline he could track where or when in time the person went to but the date the person who used the Time-Traveler was today? so that means that something happens either now or in the close future someone maybe Matt or May dies and future him trying to prevent that from happening. Matt Promised he wouldn't let anyone use it and so for Future Peter to get Matthew Murdock must have died. Which Matt was always the person who Peter knew would have his back, would believe in Peter even when Peter didn't feel like he could win the fight. Without Matthew Murdock, The Devil of Hell's Kitchen, Magoo, the world would lose one of the most kind-hearted, caring, protective, noble, humble, talented men that even when it all seems lost will fight to protect what he loves, The places he loves, Who he loves. Which is one of the things I love about. I just could imagine life without him it would feel like the world stopped spinning and there wasn't any love on the planet.
"Oh.
Oh."
I AM IN LOVE WITH MATTHEW MURDOCK!
Ok. Ok. Calm down. Breath, freaking out is not helping you. You only realized you are IN LOVE WITH ONE OF YOUR BEST FRIENDS! I am screwed. So very screwed out of all the holes I got myself in how the hell do you get yourself out of this one Peter! Ok stop freaking out we need to figure out how to save Matt. How to tell Matt your feeling for him and how to not be disappointed when he rejects you because there are so many stunning flawless people out there who matt would want to date instead of some lame nerd who he works with from time to time. Ok stop getting off track and I don't know actually track myself for god sakes."Ding!"Ok, future me is at Foggy apartment..? I guess he would be able to convince Matt to not do whatever kills him. Lets go!
At Foggy Place, HK
"So you're telling me that you are from the future. And if I don't give this letter to present you than you will lose the one person who makes your world spin and stop new york from ending up in a state worse than Hell." Foggy Sighs somewhat done with his partner/friend's dramatics.
"The World Foggy. Please I have 2 hours left before I am brought back home just please I know I am not the easiest to deal with but please, I try harder to make your live easy not get hurt as much just please." Matt Pleads, Having little time left and not willing to go back to a future without Peter in it."
Matt? What? how? Wait are you the one from the future does that mean that what Foggy dies? Karen? Claire?" The Spider asks as he comes in through the window. "I told you not to let anyone use it. The timeline could be in great danger Matthew!"
"I don't have much time but I need to stop waiting for the right moment because you could die before that and I can't lose you at least not before telling you that I love you!" Matt says. "It's fine if you don't feel the same way but I can't lose you at least not without telling you how I feel."
"Matt I-"
BEEP BEEP BEEP 8 o' clock BEEP BEEP BEEP 8 o' clock
Matt wakes to find himself in bed besides him is the person who makes his world turn, his angel, his hero. Turning off his alarm clock when Peter wakes up. "Morning. I love you. but if you ever do something that stupid again I swear to god-" Peter's lecture is interrupted by Matt kissing him. "Hey! I'm trying to lecture you here!""I'm going to protect you. Keep you safe. And love you. Now let's eat breakfast we need to go to work soon." Matt tells his lover.

Draco Malfoy x reader
MASTERLIST☁️
Tumblr media
Warnings: self doubt and I think that’s pretty much it
Note: this is 3.7k+ words. Also if you have any feedback let me know as I’m always trying to improve!¡ also h/n means house name also ngl im kinda proud of this 🖐😌✨
Summary: Draco unexpectedly breaks up with y/n and moves on with his life and now dates Astoria Greengrass but y/n still wants an explanation to why he suddenly dumped her leaving her heart broken but do things ever go back to what they were?
He was slipping out of my hands. I was losing him. I was losing myself. I was losing everything I had ever wanted.
My love for a certain platinum blonde haired boy was unconditional. His voice was delicate and soothing and was certainly music to my ears. His touch made me melt into his beautiful pale and creamy skin while he would caress me tightly but all of it was gone. Everything I had ever wished for was crumbling before me.
Draco Malfoy was no longer with me. After all we had been through it felt like nothing was no longer worth it and it hurt me to see him walking through the corridors with Astoria Greengrass clutching onto him. She was always with him, clinging onto his arm, feeding him in the great hall and now she even had access to his dorm. He promised me no one else would take my spot but at this point I assumed it was all a lie.
“You know what? I’m not even mad he ended things with you because he doesn’t deserve you y/n,” mentioned Hermione while you looked across the great hall towards Draco who had Greengrass sat beside him giggling .Me and Hermione had become best friends since our arrival at Hogwarts and she had always stuck by me through thick and thin. Our friendship was an unbreakable bond and i had always shared my thoughts and feelings to her and trusted her more than anyone else.
“Surely I wasn’t deserving enough for him-,” you whispered softly as you played with the plate of ravioli in front of you, piercing thousands of holes into it every now and then.
When he left me, he gave no explanation for the sudden breakup. Everything just shattered and I had remembered pleading him while tugging on his arm for clarification while drops of tears streamed down my face. He couldn’t face me, he couldn’t even muster the courage to look into my eyes and tell me he no longer loved me. He harshly moved away from my grasp and walked away leaving me all alone at the top of the astronomy tower. What seemed to hurt me the most was how he confessed his love for me after the Yule ball had ended and now he had dumped me in the same exact spot . Was I not good enough for him? Was he deserving of someone else? I wanted him badly to come running back to me telling me it was a joke of some sort. I wanted to wake up and pretend everything that had happened was just a nightmare but it was real. He was really gone.
The next day after lunch I made my way to my favourite tree. I would normally
sit by it and read the muggle stories I owned or just catch up on some work. I held precious memories here. I remember the first time me and Draco actually spoke to one another it was under the same exact tree only except after a few days I would read him stories like Alice in Wonderland or Jekyll and Hyde which he would thoroughly enjoy by sitting in one of the trees branches while munching onto an apple listening to the words that would come out of my mouth. He never really understood my thirst for reading muggle books. When I had first read them to him he was acting as if it was some sort of crime but once the stories got into depth he eased a bit and understood why I adored reading and it was all because I could get lost into my own imagination.
When I had reached the tree I couldn’t seem to believe my eyes. Under the tree laid Astoria’s head on Draco’s lap as he hesitantly stroked her hair almost looking a bit uncomfortable. I felt my eyes starting to well up and my vision instantly turned blurry. A pain in my chest made it seem as if my heart had been torn into millions of pieces. I stood there slightly trembling and took a step back. To my surprise my foot crunched under a pile of twigs and branches disturbing the two as Draco and his girlfriend looked up at me. He pushed Greengrass of him and scrambled up as if he were about to say something but Astoria tugged on his arm while glaring at me darkly and I decided to run back to my dorm. He really had replaced me.
“You should talk to him,” explained Hermione.I had told her everything from the way he made me feel and how uneasy I would feel whenever Astoria would be beside him. “If I’m being honest he really did downgrade,” added Ron while he took a bite out of his sandwich.
“I-i can’t, I just know he’ll try to avoid me,” i mumbled.
“You really think that? Weren’t you the one who said that he pushed Greengrass off him when he saw you?” Mentioned Harry sarcastically as he put the daily prophet down.
“But that doesn’t mean he wants to talk to me, I bet he doesn’t even care about my existence,” I groaned while i glanced at all three of them while Harry had a smug expression painted across his face.”let’s test that theory shall we?” .You knew he had some type of plan.
__
“Malfoy, theres a letter that’s addressed to you,” spoke Crabbe as he took the letter between the beautiful white owl’s beak. Draco snatched the letter out of his hand and opened it:
Malfoy,
Meet me at the astronomy tower tonight at 12. This is extremely important, it’s about y/l/n. Her life is in danger.
Harry,
Draco read the letter, while his thoughts circled his head. His two minions, Crabbe and Goyle, tried peering over him to take a look at what was written. His heart started beating at a quicker pace and he was worried sick about you.He hastily shoved the letter back into it’s envelope.”What does it say Malfoy?” Asked Goyle curiously.
“It’s none of your business,” he snapped back.He didn’t want to put you into any type of danger because he still cared. He couldn’t bear seeing you hurt because he still loved you. However not everything was what it seemed.
“Harry I don’t want to start any trouble-,” I muttered before getting cut off.
“Come on y/n, tonight we’ll find out if he’s still in love with you,” interrupted Ron.
Hermione placed her hand on mine, almost as if she was trying to reassure me that everything would be okay. Harry’s owl came swooping through the gryffindor common rooms half open window as Hedwig plopped himself onto his owners shoulder while Harry stroked its feathers.
“He’s got the letter, now we just have to see if he turns up,” explained Harry as he looked at me flashing me a confident smile. I returned one back but something inside me made my stomach churn. What if Draco didn’t turn up. What if he didn’t really care about me and what if he was happy with Astoria. I had so many questions.
__
The clock striked twelve, and I cautiously made my way to the astronomy tower making sure no one saw me out of bed after curfew. I was still in my h/n uniform shivering as I had left my robe in the common room. Once I got there I gazed at the stars hoping that Draco would come. I still wanted him to care for me, to love me but as time ticked by I stood there reconsidering everything. I had made a fool out of myself by showing up, I should have known better. He had moved on and I should have too. I was about to leave when I heard a familiar voice. “What are you doing here?” Questioned Draco. I had turned around to see him although he was a few metres away from me. I couldn’t quite make out his expressions. “I thought I was here to meet Potter not you,” he snarled. If I was being honest his words cut me deep leaving a wound that wouldn’t ever be healed. He really seemed as if he didn’t want to see me but I still had hope.
He turned around and almost started walking away but I had stopped him. “ if you didn’t care about me you wouldn’t have showed up,” my voice slightly broke towards the end. Ever so slowly I had made my way towards him hesitantly placing my hand on his shoulder. He glanced back at me not fully turning but his expression seemed to ease down a bit. “ Draco, I know it was wrong but I just wanted to talk-,” I felt my eyes tearing up but I quickly wiped them away.
“There’s nothing to talk about,” he answered back.
“Yes there is, why did you dump me? Do you realise how much it hurts to see you and Greengrass in the hallways! do you realise what you put me thr-,” I started to raise my voice while I vented at him before he cut me off.
“What I put you through?! I had no choice y/n. Don’t you think it didn’t hurt me when I left you?!” He had never spoken to me like that before.
“I just want my answers Draco, why? Why did you do this? Why did you end ‘us’?,” I whispered as I tried fighting back my tears but I couldn’t. He turned around now facing me completely. He seemed nervous as if he didn’t know how to break the news to me but he knew he had to, he knew he couldn’t keep me in the dark like that.
“Because... because I’m marrying Astoria,”
I covered my mouth with my hand trying to muffle my cries that tried to escape, stumbling backwards from him. He had never seen me so devastated and it really showed. I could tell he wanted to comfort me but he couldn’t. It would have been wrong.
My sobs started to get worse and Draco had noticed. “Y/n I need you to calm down.. please,”. The tone in his voice was soft like butter and I couldn’t help but listen to him. Hesitantly I pulled him in for a tight hug I could tell from his body language that he didn’t expect me to do that. He didn’t hug me back although it felt like his hand was hovering against my back almost as if he wanted to but couldn’t. I pulled away from him patting my tears dry while I shivered in the cold. I could have sworn that the tension in the air could have been cut with a knife. The next thing I knew, Draco took of his slytherin robe and covered me with it to stop me from shaking. “ I thought maybe you would need it,” he stammered. I crossed my arms looking down at the ground.
“Why are you marrying her?” I questioned while I furrowed my brows together.
“It isn’t my choice y/n, my father wants me to marry her because she’s a pureblood,” he responded while he looked at you with blurry eyes. You knew that his parents wouldn’t have ever approved of you, well mostly Lucius. He had despised you since the day you walked into the Malfoy Manor after finding out you were a mudblood.
“You should have told me, we could have worked this out, we could have done som-,”
“THERES NOTHING WE CAN DO ABOUT IT!” He sneered as he quickly scuttled away leaving me alone at the top of the tower.
__
The winter break was here and you were returning home for the holidays.
Every night since my return at home i couldn’t help but think about him. I started to become restless and i wished for the holidays to come to an end quickly so that I could see him again but what was the point? He was happy with Astoria and I would eventually move on from him sooner or later but I still had faith.
__
When the Winter breaks had ended we were returned back to Hogwarts.
I remember when I had reached my dorm I started unpacking all my luggage when I found Draco’s robe inside my suitcase. I clutched onto it tightly while running my hand over the soft fabric inhaling his sweet scent that consisted of citrus and mint. Everything felt wrong. I had to give his robe back to him although he would have bought a new one but I still had to. I no longer meant anything to him.
The first class of the new semester was defense against the dark arts which was taught by Umbridge. Everyone seemed to loathe her apart from a bunch of kids who became a part of her clan. Unsuprisingly Malfoy was one of them.
I couldn’t help but stare across the room at him. He was just so beautiful. His prominent, sharp jawline could have easily cut whoever’s fingers glided across it and his magnificent blonde hair had grown a tiny bit compared to last year. I had sat there just admiring him from a distance when he seemed to notice when he had turned around to talk to Goyle. Our eyes had met until I pulled away quickly. I couldn’t do that to him since everything was over but I still yearned for him.
“I’m so sorry y/n, we didn’t expect Malfoy to react like that,” explained Hermione when you had told the trio everything that had happened before the winter break.
“I can’t believe he’s marrying her, out of all people he chooses Greengrass,” muttered Ron while he took a sip out of his cup.
“It’s not his choice Ron,” I mumbled under my breath just loud enough for him to hear .
“Are you going to give him his robe back?” Questioned Harry while he glanced at me with a weak smile.
“I suppose so, it doesn’t belong to me anymore,” I sighed while letting a shaky breathe out.
I could see from across the great hall, that he was staring at me until I had noticed. He quickly shifted his attention to Astoria while she rested her head on his shoulder. She was starting to infuriate me.
We were going to Hogsmeade today and unfortunately Harry couldn’t come because he couldn’t get permission to go on the trip or I could have hung out with him there. “Harry I’ll get you something from there,” I mentioned kindly with a small smile across my face. He simply nodded with a small smile and then left.
I thought it would be best if I left Ron and Hermione alone since I didn’t want to be the 3rd wheel besides I wanted to explore Hogsmeade alone and get all the heavy feelings of my chest and for once be carefree.
Once I had finished exploring all of Hogsmeade I decided to go to Honydukes to buy some candy for Harry since I knew he absolutely loved lemon Sherbets and well I had promised him I would bring him something back.
I went into the shop searching around for lemon sherbets and looking at the different types of candies in the glass jars until I saw Draco. Obviously he was with Astoria. My heart did a quick jump in my chest and I just froze. “What is she doing here?” Groaned Astoria. Draco just stared at me and then looked towards the ground. I could feel my hands starting to become clammy and a few drops of tears spilled down my face. “I see you EVERYWHERE, don’t you realise that things have ended between you and Draco? He’s MINE not YOURS,” sneered Greengrass. I quickly sprinted my way out of the shop while Draco was going to run after me but she had pulled him back from doing so.
The next day in the great hall, I hid my head in my hands silently wheeping trying not to cause a commotion while Hermione rubbed my back in circles. “You should have stuck with us,” spoke Hermione while Ron nodded along agreeing with her.
“If i were there I-“ Harry started but got cut off when Hermione silently shook her head slowly, almost telling him to stop rambling on.”i-i need to go.. I’ll be back,” I stuttered.
I went to my dorm and grabbed Draco’s old robe and hurried back into the great hall. I was striding towards him furiously while everyones attention was drawn on me. The next thing I knew Astoria and him both looked at me astonished as I threw his robe in his face.”thought this belonged to you,” i whispered while my voice cracked and off I stormed back to my dorm.
I could hear everyone in the great hall talking about the commotion I had just caused while I ran through the corridoors.
The next day was a ordinary Monday, Draco had promised to meet Astoria at lunch and then they would supposedly spend some time together. Lunch was intimidating for me. The buzz about all the drama that had happened yesterday was still news to everyone. People gave me sly looks from across the hall and others were concerned or confused.
Draco would give me small glances then look away just in case I saw. In my heart I still felt as if he wanted me but I wasn’t so sure. It had been a long period of time and it felt as if the 2 were starting to become closer than ever.
After lunch Astoria and Draco were walking the hogwarts grounds. She practically forced him to drape his robe around her. Greengrass was very touchy and there were moments that made him uncomfortable and he would slightly move out of her grasp.
“I don’t understand why y/l/n always has to come between us,” she muttered. Draco stopped walking and looked her in the eye.
“I don’t understand why you hate her so much, what has she ever done to you?” He snarled. Certainly Astoria never expected Draco to ever defend you like that, after all what were you to him?
“Draco, what are you saying?” She questioned while her cheeks turned a tint of red in embarrassment. He took a few steps towards her until the gap between them closed. He seemed agitated while he clenched his fists tightly.
“I’ve never wanted to marry you,” he snapped. Astorias heart started beating rapidly at this point he was scaring her.”Its never been you, it’s always been her,” he sneered as he snatched his cloak away from her body leaving her shivering in the snow.
I was at the top of the astronomy tower, lunch had just finished but since it was still winter season the sky has turned dark in the evening. I looked up at the sky admiring the beautiful colours above. This was my favourite spot to relax. A place for me to escape all of my worries and concerns. Everything that had been happening felt like a nightmare that wouldn’t stop haunting me. If I was being honest I had wished that Draco would be beside me, vibing into the moment like we use to but all of that was gone. I started to shiver slightly as I was only in my uniform and I had again left my robe inside thinking that I would be in all day. Turns out I was wrong after all.
Suddenly someone covered me with their robe. It smelt familiar, like mint and citrus fruit and it’s aroma was sweet with a hint of bitterness. “Thought this belonged to you,” uttered the voice softly under its breath. I slowly turned around to face the person when I saw Draco stood behind me.
To my surprise he gave me tight hug lifting me off the ground since he’s way taller than I am. The hug was different. He didn’t seem to hesitate and it seemed confident like he thoroughly wanted to. He held me there almost cradling me until I slightly wriggled out of his grasp. “Malfoy What is wrong with y-,”. He immediately went in for a kiss. It wasn’t anything extra just a peck on the lips until I pulled away from him. “Draco we can’t do this,” I spoke while my cheeks blushed.
“why can’t we?,” he asked while he pulled me back moving me closer towards him. He was acting totally weird as if he suddenly forgot that he was going to be marrying Astoria. “I think you’ve forgot that your marrying Greengrass,” I sighed after letting a deep breathe out. He seemed to loosen his grip and that managed to create a one metre distance between the two of us. He scratched the back of his head while I crossed my arms trying to avoid eye contact.
“Yeah um.. about that, I don’t want to marry her,” he spoke.
“What do you mean?” I asked hastily.
“Look I know after all that we’ve been through it was wrong for me to leave you like that with any sort of explanation and i just want you to know I’m- im sorry. I don’t care what my father has to say about the two of us. it’s never been her... it’s always been you,” he confessed. I stared into his beautiful eyes and I could tell he really meant what he said. The same Draco Malfoy has apologised for everything he had done and he was even ready to fight against his own father. On my tiptoes I caressed his alluring face with both of my hands as I pulled him down a bit until our lips grazed against each other. The next thing I knew his lips were on mine while one of my hands found their way to his head, softly tugging on the bottom of his platinum blonde hair while his arm slithered across my waist pulling me closer to him till no space was left between us. Pulling away panting slightly I smiled widely. Everything had gone back to what it was and I couldn’t have been more elated. “It’s always been you,” he whispered.

Song: Noah Kahan - Anyway
Jens rubs his eyes, which are dead from staring at the small TV screen all morning after a severe lack of sleep.
He has spent the past two nights tossing and turning in an unfamiliar bed in the spare room of his sister’s apartment and wishing he had gone to Lucas’s flat. After thinking he was choosing the best route for all of them, he’s a little frustrated by the worry consuming him. The nagging thought is there that leaving Lucas behind has done nothing to keep him safe. He has probably only left him upset, worried and confused and alone, hurting because of Jens despite his best wishes.
It doesn’t help that the same crime show has been playing on repeat for hours, and Jens still has no idea what it’s about. He can’t focus on something so mundane. He has been watching it blankly, taking in a word here and there, snapping to attention at some of the louder noises only to drift back into his mind moments later.
Although Jens has never thought it possible, thinking about Lucas is difficult. Pushing thoughts of him away leaves too much space for thoughts of Vince.
He thinks about Lucas a lot.
The door cracks open and Jens almost sighs in relief at the sight of Lies, finally home from her shift. She comes in and sits on the bed in front of him, brushing his hair up under his hood. Dylan’s hood. It’s strange, wearing his sister’s boyfriend’s clothes all the time, but he knows he’s lucky to have the option. He’s willing to bet his own boyfriend’s clothes would be more comfortable.
“I got things sorted with the school. You’ll be able to take the exams when they’re doing the resits after the holidays.”
Jens nods and blows out a breath, choosing to be silently grateful rather than ask any questions. He doesn’t really want to talk about any of it. The constant stream of thoughts is enough.
Lies has been easy on him. He’d stumbled through an explanation on the phone to her, and after failing to tell her clearly he had simply pleaded with her to come get him. She had done so without question, organising to meet him at the train station and take him straight back to Ghent. On the train, Jens was able to tell her in person, and she had wrapped an arm around him and they had sat together in silent companionship for the duration of the trip. Since then she has provided him with everything she can and called both their mother and Jens’s school.
It makes Jens feel infinitely better, but he knows it still isn’t right.
“You okay? What have you been doing all day?” she asks.
Jens shrugs and gestures at the TV. “What can I do?”
“Didn’t you use the laptop?”
“Dylan’s been using it for something,” Jens mumbles, shrugging again. He is upset and therefore, a little irritated, but he knows how much he is already imposing.
Lies curses quietly and then pulls out her phone. “Okay, use this now then.”
“Instagram won’t let me in, though,” Jens reminds her.
“So call him.”
“I don’t know his number by heart, Lies.” He wishes he did. He wishes he could talk to Lucas in any way, but Lies’s less-than-useful internet connection hasn’t been allowing it.
Jens has, admittedly, only tried once.
Lies shakes her head. “Don’t keep giving me excuses. You need to let them know you’re okay.”
Jens licks his lips and thinks. The realisation comes to him very abruptly. “I can call Robbe.”
Lies presses her phone into his hand.
Only once he has dialed does she leave him to it, and when his best friend picks up Jens almost cries in relief.
“Hello?”
“Robbe.”
“Jens?”
“Yeah,” Jens laughs, dropping his head back against the pillow. It brings him back to reality, leaves his breath slipping out of him in a rush. He hasn’t gotten to speak to Robbe at all, and he certainly hadn’t seen him. He hasn’t been thinking about Robbe as much, hasn’t realised how much he misses him too. “Fuck. Are you okay?”
“Are you? Where the hell are you?”
“I’m with Lies. I’m okay. Is Lucas with you?”
Jens asks it hesitantly, knowing how likely it is he will get a negative answer. He just isn’t sure whether it will relieve or disappoint him.
“No,” Robbe says, seeming apologetic. “You haven’t spoken to him?”
He sounds surprised, likely that Jens has called him before contacting his boyfriend. “Can’t get through. I’m guessing he hasn’t gotten his phone fixed?”
“Not yet, I don’t think.”
“I don’t know his number anyway,” Jens admits, rubbing a hand over his face.
“I can call him for you from my laptop. If you want to speak to him?”
Does he?
He takes only a second to think about it before breathing, “Please.”
“Okay.” Jens can hear Robbe’s smile. “I’ll message him first to make sure he’ll answer, but I think he’s been sitting with his laptop on the whole time. Fuck, it’s so good to hear from you. You two need to stop running off and freaking us out.”
Jens closes his eyes, inhaling slowly. “I know. I’m sorry, seriously. I just—“
“Wait,” Robbe interrupts. “Lucas will respond soon and then you can tell both of us. I don’t care anyway. I’m just so fucking glad you’re okay.”
Jens slumps back, lying down now as all the tension finally seeps out of him. He’s talking to Robbe, and Robbe is safe, and he’s safe. Robbe, as predicted, isn’t even mad at him, only worried. Lucas may only be seconds away. Jens can breathe.
“Robbe? What’s up?”
Jens hadn’t even known Robbe had attempted the call. His breath catches at the distant voice and leaves his own choked as he breathes, “Luc.”
There’s a pause. Then, unsure, Lucas questions, “Jens?”
“Yeah. It’s me. Shit.” Jens sits up again, scrubbing his hand through his hair and drawing his knees up to his chest. “I’m so sorry.”
“Can you tell us what happened?” Robbe asks gently.
With slightly more urgency, Lucas asks, “Are you okay?”
“You’re breaking up a little, so go slow,” Robbe adds.
“I’m fine. I—I ran out of the house on Saturday with no keys or clothes or money or anything. This woman saw me freaking out on the street and let me use her phone and I called Lies. I couldn’t—I can’t put this on either of you. But I didn’t mean to make you worry. I tried to text you last night but Lies must have a shit connection for everything.”
“It’s fine,” Robbe reassures. “You’re safe. That’s all we care about.”
Jens lets out another breath, nodding to himself even as he notes his boyfriend’s silence. “Luc,” he repeats, still barely audible. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to—that wasn’t what I wanted. I just needed…I’m sorry.”
“Don’t,” Lucas says, only a little stronger than him. Before Jens can take it to heart, he continues, “Fuck, I miss you. I thought you were disappearing.”
“I think there’s already been enough of that,” Robbe says, in that light, teasing way he has that makes the others both laugh, that makes them all relieved. Jens misses them twice as much. “When are you coming home?”
Jens licks his lips, then swallows. “I don’t know.”
A longer silence extends, in which Jens wishes he could be with them in person. He wishes he could at least see them through the screen, as they are with each other. He wishes that he and Lucas were alone, not even over the phone, but back in their bubble. He wonders if he’s there now, in one of their parallel universes.
“I’m not sure if I can,” he adds, only a breath now, hardly even loud enough to be considered a whisper. When he’s answered by more silence, with not even the sound of the fuzzy connection breaking it up, he takes the phone from his ear to find that the call has ended on its own. The empty bars at the top of the screen inform him that he has no signal.
He curses under his breath. Then again, louder, as he tosses the phone from him. It takes only a few seconds then for Lies to return, just on time with Jens’s slow breaking-down.
Lies immediately climbs onto the bed with him and gathers him in her arms and he sinks against her, even as he desperately wishes she was someone else.

Theo, my girl, my idol, my star, my main bitch, I gotta read about the first time that Loki is seen out and about after he's been released pleeeaaaasseeeee (and some sexual tension wouldn't hurt)
part 18 of predating idiots, in which you speak with that idiot for the first time since…everything happened. (he hasn’t exactly been released, but close enough ;))
warnings: long ass chapter with blood, injuries, pain, alongside some denial and awkward moments :))
Life without a fake-boyfriend has become rather, well, quiet.
No more surprise visits with only the excuse “I’m dying” being given, no more lying about the exceptional dates you’ve been on…no more ridiculously attractive doctor on your arm.
No one’s stealing your bagels anymore. That’s a plus.
But work is slow, suddenly. The weight of the secret, sneaking Loki into your office to eat and sleep and rushing him home on lunch breaks for a shower, was, in it’s own twisted way, exciting.
Loki admitting to the fact that it’s been “centuries” keeps floating back into your consciousness. You continually choose not to dwell on it.
Your first day back after Tony gave you a four day weekend to recoup went smoothly, without a single hitch nor a word from your special alien. Asking about him while trying to remain casual didn’t get you far, so you resigned yourself to a quiet day at your desk, sometimes sending Marcus off to make copies for you when even he looks bored.
“I’ve gotta admit,” he pipes up one day from his station at the doorway, “I kinda miss Lucky. Thought maybe I’d get to stop a bad guy, that’d look good on a résumé.”
You shake your head with a laugh, scrolling through a file of release records. “Sorry you’ve got to just watch me all day. Can’t be the most exciting thing.”
“I don’t mind.” He shrugs. You don’t look up.
Another day ticks by, then another, and then a whole week and you still haven’t heard a single bit of accurate information regarding Loki.
Plenty of false information is circulating though, and you pick up bits of pieces around the break rooms and bathrooms.
“Yeah, he got the chair, they wouldn’t have kept him alive.”
“No, they’re rehabilitating him. He’s of use, he’s basically another Thor, don’t you think shield would want to hang onto him?”
“What, make him a new avenger?” The voice by the sinks laughs, and the faucet shuts off. “Just what we need. Another superhero. Jesus, I can’t keep up.”
Break rooms are to be avoided as of late, since you can’t go near another coworker without them jumping you with questions, assuming you must know what happened to him.
“Wish I knew,” you always reply. It’s not exactly a lie.
This fine morning, you pass the god of thunder on the way to the copy room. He gives you a grimace of a smile, lifts a hand, and turns to walk back the way he came before you can call out to him.
Strange. You haven’t seen Thor since the day Loki confessed.
Assuming he’s been busy helping his brother, you hadn’t worried about what he’s been thinking of you. Granted, his impressions of you haven’t been of the greatest, most respectable caliber, from asking you if you were attracted to his brother to watching you rip his brother’s shirt from him while straddling him on a bed—
Yeah, it’d be better not to dwell on what awkwardness Thor may have started to feel towards you. You’d rather not know his thoughts.
Then the next day, Thor is there again. You manage to get in a wave this time, giving him your politest please-don’t-talk-to-me smile and heading for the copy room again.
This time, the god follows you, fidgeting with the strap of mjolnir.
“I would like to talk to you,” he announces, trying to lean casually in the doorway. It doesn’t work well for him, so he straightens up and goes back to fidgeting with the hammer, staring at you.
“Okay…go for it.”
“I’d like to-to—” he breaks off and clears his throat. Finishing your copies, you turn to him with your eyebrows raised.
“Yes?”
“I’d, uh, like to apologize.”
Your brow knits in confusion and you cock your head at him. “What for?”
“Not to you,” Thor clarifies with a nervous laugh. “Sorry. Do I owe you one?”
“No, not really, I guess.”
“I’d like to apologize,” he tries again, “to, uh, to my brother. You know, Loki.”
“Ah.” You nod with a tight smile. “Yeah, I’m acquainted with him.”
Thor lets out a relived laugh at that, tossing mjolnir in the air and catching it. “Of course you are. The only trouble is, I don’t quite know how.”
“And you’re coming to me because…”
“Because you may know this Loki better than anyone.”
“Right.” Biting your lip, you stare at the crease in Thor’s brow. This Loki. A bit of a terrifying thought, really, but he may be right. However unpleasant, your interaction may have been the first semi-normal one Loki had had in a long time. “Well, um, how can I help?”
“How…bad is he?”
That’s a loaded question, and you pretend to look through your papers while you think. “He’s in a bad state,” you venture to say, “he’s definitely hurt. Somebody hurt him, and not just physically.”
“Right. Alright.” Thor nods, tossing his hammer back and forth between his hands. “I can work with that. Sensitivity, I’m getting good at that.”
“Good for you,” you laugh. “Be careful with him. I mean, I don’t know him very well. But I know he’s not one to open up, so…go slow. I’m sure he’ll appreciate the apology.”
In all reality, you have no idea if Loki will give a shit about Thor’s apology, but in theory it sounds like a good thing to happen. It can’t go terribly wrong.
“Just be gentle with him, will you?”
Thor nods. “Of course.”
You rifle through your papers, gaze dropping to them to avoid his. “Where, uh, where is he, by the way?”
Your stomach flips at the sound of the question leaving your mouth, but hopefully you can pass it off as casual curiosity, keeping your gaze trained intently on the papers in your hand.
“The healing wing,” Thor replies with a growing smile. “The two-hundred and third room. I am sure my brother would be happy to see you, my lady.”
“He hates me,” you answer way too quickly, flashing him a forced smile and pushing past him. “He won’t—no, he doesn’t—heh. Just curious. Thanks.”
Curious enough to go find him on your lunch break, that is.
Room 203 is a drab white room that reeks of disinfectant, one single bed in the center next to stacks of monitors and a cot-like couch beside it. It’s an improvement from the cell, you’ll give them that, but the pure white gives you a headache the moment you enter, and Loki still looks trapped.
Trapped, and deliberately expressionless upon seeing you sneaking through the doorway.
“Hello.”
He says it carefully, eyes narrowing at you as you wring your hands with a sheepish grin.
“You’re, ah, looking better.”
More like an angry cat who just had to resign itself to the fact that baths are inevitable, but better nonetheless.
“I feel like my limbs have been filled with lead,” Loki replies. He limply tries to lift his arms for emphasis.
“Nothing a god can’t lift, I’m sure,” you laugh, taking the few steps needed to be by his bedside. His piercing gaze tracks every one.
Checking his water jug and the tray of food still untouched by his bedside, you give him a mildly disapproving look, one he certainly disapproves of. “I bet you’d feel better if you ate something.”
“Not interested.” He sinks back into the pillows, watching you with hawk-like precision. “Why are you here?”
You give him a casual once-over, disguising it with a quick look about the room, as well. His arm is in a sling—that’s new, he must be cooperating at least a little if they’ve been treating him.
“Uh, curious,” you decide to answer. “I’m curious, just, y’know, want to make sure you’re being treated right. You healing up?”
Loki nods. Yes, he is healing, technically, but at a glacial pace that’s nearly historic for asgardian abilities. Maybe he had pushed his limits a little too far with all the illusions and covering undressed wounds for so long.
Your not-so-discrete scrutinizing of his shirtless body doesn’t slip his notice and reopens a whole other wound, but he can’t think about that right now. Or ever.
“You’re wearing a sling,” you lamely point out, desperate to fill the silence, and mentally slap yourself.
“That I am,” Loki replies, and can’t help the smug little smirk that starts to turn the corners of his lips. You’re a bit out of sorts—this could be fun. “Did you miss me, darling?”
Your face goes sour, crinkling at the nose. “Don’t call me that.”
Loki breathes deep with a grin, and Dr. Laing takes his place in the bed, lounging much more seductively, injury free and on his side, with an arm draped over his hip.
“You missed me, didn’t you.”
“If you weren’t on the verge of death and in a hospital, I would slap the shit out of you.”
Laing laughs as he fades back into Loki; it’s a tired sound, scratchy and painful and rattling in his chest, but somehow he manages to sound so disdainfully full of himself that you don’t know if you want to soothe his aches or cause him a handful more.
He does look better though. Weak, definitely still as weak as before, but better. Not so gaunt.
“Have you been eating well, then?” You ask, pulling up a chair beside him. “You’ve filled out a little.”
“Define well,” he replies with a quirk of his eyebrow.
“More fast food, I take it.”
“If I wasn’t close to death before, I am now.”
“Well, take what you can get.” You reach over and give him a pat on the arm, just one awful pat before you think better of it and immediately hate yourself for doing that. “So, uh, what was the verdict? On your…y’know. Crimes.”
Loki shifts on his pillows, trying to sit up a little straighter, and his blanket slips further down to his hips as he struggles to with one arm.
“My crimes…right, trying to conquer the planet. Those crimes.”
Without thinking, you lean in and straighten his blankets for him, tugging them back up to lay just under his arm.
His voice dies in his throat, and he stares.
You stare, too, but unfortunately at the bruises littering his ribs and the scar racing right over his heart.
“There you go staring again,” he says, clearing his throat. “Are you quite finished?”
Ripping your gaze from his chest, you meet his narrowed eyes and swallow thickly. “Sorry.”
“Don’t be.”
“Are you…are you using any illusions right now?” You gesture at him, emphasizing his relatively scar-free face.
“I may be,” he replies.
“Why? You should be healing, not hiding anything.”
His eyes roll and he sighs. “I do still have some semblance of a reputation to uphold. Maybe no longer with you, and something must be done about that, but as for the others, they don’t need to know any more.”
“I don’t really care about your reputation,” you tell him, and he laughs as if that were obvious. “Or any image you’re trying to make of yourself, just so you know.”
“Oh, you did miss me, mortal.”
“No,” you snap, “I just…well, I don’t want you getting any more hurt than you are. And…maybe might have been a tiny bit worried.”
The last part you blurt, staring out the window with a burning gaze. You would like him to know, just for the sake of knowing that he’s not necessarily alone in this, but when you say it out loud, like that…
Loki appears to have swallowed something sour, when you glance back at him, and he stares at you.
Confusion, maybe?
Or maybe just shock. Or maybe he has morphine pumping through his veins; that’s a very possible answer.
“Are you on morphine?” You whisper when he doesn’t move, still staring. “That stuff can kill you, y’know. Careful.”
Slowly, he nods, lips parted.
“I…am.”
“On morphine?” You give him a sad smile. “That’s why you’re being friendly. Well, by your standards.”
“No,” he cuts in, cocking his head at you. “Still using an illusion.”
You nod, glancing down at your hands in your lap. “I figured. You can take it off now, I’ve already seen the worst of it.”
Room 203 falls silent for a moment, nothing but the air conditioning whirring in the background as a wave of green energy passes over Loki’s body.
“Just for you,” he clarifies when you look back up at him, “only for you.”
“Of course. I won’t tell.”
Taking a steady breath, you scoot forward in the chair and begin your inspection, ghosting along the parts of him you can, too used to cleaning him up to the point where it’s almost routine. He sits quietly, you point out to him which bits he should really show the others, berate him again for waiting so long to tell the truth.
“I lie,” he murmurs, and you almost catch a smile playing at his lips. “It’s what I do.”
“Roll on your side,” you simply respond. “You’re letting them treat your back, aren’t you?”
He grimaces, but doesn’t move. “In a way.”
“Please? Can I see?”
“I’d rather you didn’t.”
“I don’t know if you realize this,” you exhale, exasperated already, “but I’m a little more trusted here than you are. I can help you, if you’ll let me.”
He squares his jaw, fighting with himself for a second longer—then rolls his eyes yet again and turns to face the other direction, exposing his back to you.
“Loki, come on.”
“I tried,” he cuts in before you can berate him further on the hideous state of his lashed back. “Really, I tried, but they can’t treat them yet. It’s not a flogging like any that have happened on Midgard, believe me.”
The thought of something worse than a flogging makes your toes curl, and you gingerly brush your fingertips over his shoulder before the sight makes you retch; one of the few unmarked patches of skin left on his back.
“You’re still bleeding.”
He nods, face turned from you. “I would imagine so.”
“Bled through your sling…” a quick look around finds the spare cloths and towels in the cabinet under his bed stand, and you take a couple soft rags. “Want me to, y’know, clean you up?”
He’s silent for so long you wonder if he’s fallen asleep, but then he nods, just once.
“I would–I would appreciate that.”
His whole body jerks with every few dabs of the cloth, trying to at least stop the trickling and sop up what’s pooled in the bony dip of his shoulder blade.
You try to tell Loki which cuts desperately need stitches, but he just chuckles dryly and explains that these cuts aren’t meant to heal; that they rip and open any stitching or bandages applied to them. Each attempt to close the wound is predestined to worsen it.
“So you’ll always have these?”
“Until I can find a way to heal them,” he grunts, letting you help him sit up, “yes. It’ll be wonderful for when I’m feeling nostalgic.”
The sling, as it turns out, is covering a much deeper gash than the rest, one that the skin around the edges looks burnt—but weirdly enough, also looks almost crystallized where it should be scabbed. Almost…icy.
You don’t know what to say to that, so you just continue in silence to switch out his sling, sick to your stomach. Nothing you could possibly have to offer, any assistance from anyone on earth could make up for that.
It’s been a couple months now, since New York. There have been no other attacks, clean up has been relatively successful with the camaraderie of the nation. The avengers have been assembled, tested, and proven effective.
Loki’s in custody, no longer hiding, no longer blackmailing you into keeping his secrets while he runs. He hasn’t stepped out of line since, he’s been offering his knowledge, he’s been cooperating.
Yet he’s the only one still bleeding.
“Loki,” you say quietly, glancing at the door, “are they actually helping you?”
He gives his shoulder a testing roll with a wince. “That’s too tight,” he tells you, tugging at the fresh sling. “I’m being treated. Accordingly.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“I’ve received the help I need.”
“I don’t believe you,” you reply with a huff, fighting with the knot in his sling. “I mean, has Thor even come to see you? He told me he wants to talk to you, but he’s the only person who’s mentioned you…”
Loki gives you a nod when you finish with the sling, finally lifting his head to look at you with an illusion-less face, ripped flesh around his lips where a cord stitched him silent.
A fist closes around your heart, clenching it and leaving a hollow ache in your chest. Your skin burns at the sight of him.
“You’re staring again.”
“Sorry.”
The stitching was crude, unevenly spread along his upper lip, and the left side has a couple gashes where the skin is torn all the way through. Must’ve had to rip out it himself.
“Don’t victimize me,” he warns. “Don’t make me into something I’m not. Don’t.”
Your jaw clenches, eyes flitting from his lips to meet his gaze. “How do you expect me not to?”
He drops his head back to his pillow, shutting his eyes.
“You should leave.”
“Yeah.” You stand, and he doesn’t open his eyes. The closer you look, his scars are fading again, back under the facade you broke. “I probably should.”
Before you can stop yourself, your hand moves to touch him, just once on the back of the hand that’s draped over his chest. He grabs your wrist before you can.
“I don’t think I trust you,” he whispers, eyes still shut tight.
A lump catches in your throat. “You–you can, you know.”
“I know.” He takes a shaking breath, wincing as his blood soaks the pillows. “That’s why I don’t.”
You give him a week.
You hadn’t gotten even half the answers you had gone in there for, leaving with more questions than before, if anything.
It’s hard to tell if he was pleased to see you.
So you give him a week. No visits, no telling him he needs to eat, no mention of him behind his back.
That week passes as normally as it could be.
By the next, you find yourself outside room 203 once again, psyching yourself up to just walk in there and cut right to the chase, not giving him even an inch over you.
But you open the door and he’s on his stomach, fists ripping the sheets as a nurse with a needle stitches the lashings on his back shut.
He’s bleeding. Badly.
“No,” you blurt, “stop, don’t do that–”
Your tongue falls limp in your mouth, and completely against your will, you walk straight to the couch beside the bed and sit.
Nothing you can do will allow you to move, and you spend the next few minutes struggling against invisible bonds, shouting silently into oblivion that you’re making it worse, horrified at the sight of Loki’s serene expression as he stares at you.
You can see it getting worse; each stitch undoes the last, reopening the wound from the beginning so that by the time she’s moved to the next cut, the one just finished is a fresh, open wound.
Even with his face perfectly calm, his gaze stone-set on you, his body betrays him. He jerks with every pierce of the needle, the vein on the side of his neck bulges, and he’s ripped the sheets by his fist.
It looks like pure agony, and you can’t do a single thing about it.
So you sit there, frozen to your seat and silenced, until the nurse gives up and apologizes for another failed attempt, promising that they’re trying to find a type of material that can hold as she tries to soak up the blood. She wraps his torso and he stays silent the entire time, knowing full well that nothing will change, and doesn’t move after she’s left the room.
You take a deep breath as Loki does, and the restraints on your body and tongue fall away.
“What the hell, Loki?!”
“Please don’t yell.”
“I think it’s warranted,” you cry, stomping over to his bedside. “You have a death wish, god, you–you–what the hell were you doing?!”
You’re shaking, half from the horror of having to sit there and watch him endure that, but mostly from rage—he could’ve stopped her.
“Why the hell didn’t you say anything?!”
“Shh…”
“Oh, don’t you shush me, I’m so sick of this–I-I can’t believe you made me watch that—”
A cold hand curls around your wrist and yanks, and you fall to your knees by the bedside, nose to nose with the god of mischief.
“Let me bleed,” he grits out, each word ripped painfully from his throat.
“What?”
“Let me…let me bleed.” This time it’s on an exhale and his eyes close, his hand dropping from your wrist.
You can’t find it in yourself to move away from him.
“Why’d you do that, you idiot?”
Half his face squished into the mattress, he manages a hoarse laugh. “Punishment for my sins.”
“That’s not your call,” you hiss, grabbing him by the arm. “You need to roll over, you’re laying on your injury. C’mon, move.”
He actually obliges and the two of you struggle to roll him onto his uninjured side. It’s not exactly comfortable, for either of you, and you realize after the fact that you had to practically hug the guy in order to haul him onto his side.
That’s probably why he went so stiff.
And…why he’s staring at you as if you’d sprouted wings, trying to catch his breath.
“Sorry,” you mutter, a little out of breath yourself from trying to lift him. “You’re a fucking masochist, you know that?”
“Oh, don’t act so surprised.” He forces out another laugh.
Always laughing.
Always bleeding, always laughing. It’s exhausting, not to mention unbearably irritating when you’re nearly writhing in pain for him.
“Do me a favor, darling.”
“Don’t call me—oh, wait, do you want me to slap you?”
Another dry laugh, but this one sounds truer.
“Don’t make me beg,” he grins, and you almost find yourself wanting to grin back; it’s a breath of fresh air, after all the blood and pain. “Please, would you do this for me?”
“Yeah.” You can’t help the tiny smile you offer back, hidden behind your exasperated sigh. “Yeah, of course.”
“Tie my hair back?”
You swear his cheeks burn bright red, but he doesn’t let his empyrean expression waver, sinking subtly deeper into the pillows and handing you a thin strip of leather.
“Sorry,” he says when you take it, voice muffled, “it only gets matted with blood if I leave it down. I’d cut it, but I can’t be wasting strength on that in this condition—”
“I get it,” you assure him with a smile. “Don’t worry. You’ve already ruined your reputation with me.”
“Right. Thank you for the reminder.”
Biting back a grin, you pull the strip of leather between your hands. “I’ll do it, on one condition.”
“You are unbearably difficult.”
“Thank you.” You lean towards him, a tiny, smug grin just turning at your lips. “You answer any question I ask while I’m doing it. And no lies, trickster.”
He mulls it over for a moment, halfheartedly glaring at your smug self. You do look sure of yourself, leaning onto his bed, eyes narrowed playfully, his leather cord taut between your fingers. Daring him to disagree.
It’s not a bad look. Confidence, he supposes. Power.
The day has reached sunset, and in this moment of weakness Loki can’t help but notice—the light filtering through the lone hospital room window hits your face in a rather flattering way.
That, or maybe it’s been so long since someone smiled at him, laughed with him, teased him—maybe it’s…nice.
Maybe it’s been missed.
Maybe…that would be alright.

I am here for you
Secret Santa gift for @jellyfishdodraw! Also for the Duskwood Secret Santa page @christmaswithduskwood
It's based on the AU of MC being strong in front of others until Jake asks. This is placed somewhere in episode 5 partly 6. It is based on the aftermath of the video that Lilly uploaded. This is Fem!MC x Jake. It's not canon compliant since this definitely didn’t happen. Also I will fully admit I am not the best writer but I hope you enjoy it. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!

The comments and responses to the video that Lilly posted just keep coming in. Even after the video is removed they keep coming in on text messages, facebook posts, instagram messages, etc. I can’t seem to escape them. But I can’t let the others know about this because Jessy and possibly Jake would definitely try to kick Lilly’s ass. I scrub my hands against my face and get back to decoding the cloud storage.
*Jessy is Online*
Jessy: Hey MC!
MC: Hey
Jessy: How are you doing?
MC: I’m doing pretty well just looking for more clues. :)
Jessy: That’s good just try to take care of yourself as well and ignore that stupid video. Lilly is just trying to stir up trouble.
MC: Way ahead of you.
Jessy: Ok that’s good just try to keep a positive mindset! You can always talk to me if you need to. <3 :)
Jessy: Oops got to get back to work we’ll talk later.
*Jessy is Offline*
I set my phone down as more notifications of comments and threats keep pouring in. Sighing I stare out my window dejected as my phone keeps pinging. Getting up and stretching my back I trudge into the kitchen intent on making myself some tea or other hot beverage. Something to comfort me as the messages keep piling in.
*Jake’s Pov
“Ok I seem to be getting on the right track now, all I can do for now is let the program run and see what it finds.” I mutter to myself as I lean back from my computer. Running my hands through my hair I stare tiredly at the computer screen. “I wonder if MC is still up.”
Grabbing my phone I look to see if I have any new messages from her. Spotting a new message from a number that I don’t recognize I open it up.
Unknown: You two are absolutely SCUM of the Earth. HOW COULD YOU HURT THAT WOMAN!! I hope you both ROT in HELL for what you did!! Do you have no compassion for anyone?? What you two did was DEPLORABLE AND I HOPE YOU BOTH GET WHAT YOU DESERVE!!
“Awesome, gotta love the people I get messages from,” I mutter, “Lilly why on earth did you think that video was a good idea.”
A sudden thought comes to my mind. Lilly didn’t just post my number she also posted MC’s number. Worry grabs at me as I glance at MC’s contact information. I don’t want to break her trust by looking at her messages without her permission but I also want to make sure that she isn’t getting messages like this. I’ll talk to her first.
*Jake is Online*
Jake: Hey, how are you?
*MC is Online*
MC: I’m good, how about you?
Ok maybe she isn’t getting the same messages as me. That’s good, I’ll gladly take the brunt of this to keep her safe and happy. Some people can get really aggressive with this kind of accusation flying around. The worry starts to ebb out of my body.
Jake: I’m alright, I just wanted to check in with you while I have some time. :)
MC: Can’t keep me off your mind? ;)
MC: I’ve been just working on the cloud
Jake: Haha you can always make me smile. :)
*ping*
*ping*
*ping*
I glance away from the chat to see that I’m getting notified about a private conversation between MC and an unknown person. I freeze as part of the unknown sender’s message flashes across my phone screen. It’s a death threat. Fury and worry race through me as I click on the messages.
*Spymode: MC and Unknown*
Unknown: I’ll find you and rip your head off if you don’t let that woman go back to her family!! How could you as a HUMAN BEING do this to another human being!!
Unknown: We should just kidnap you to make you fear for your life like you are making this poor woman feel. You better watch yourself.
I watch as the messages just keep coming not just from this person but others. Hate comments and death threats from random strangers on the internet who have no idea what is actually going on. Concern fills my chest as I quickly realise that MC has been getting way more than me. Going back to my conversation with MC I realise that she’s been dealing with this without mentioning it to anyone.
MC: I’m feeling pretty drained today but I’m hoping to get a new file from Hannah’s cloud soon.
Jake: Ok just don’t overwork yourself, afterall where would I be without my partner in crime. ;)
MC: Haha good thing we’ll never know the answer to that.
MC: I’m gonna head to bed, have a goodnight Jake I hope you have a good night’s sleep.
Jake: Goodnight MC. Sweet dreams. :)
*MC is Offline*
*Jake is Offline*
“Time to get another pot of coffee going, I’ve got some work to do regarding these messages.” I mutter darkly as I glare at the unknown senders. No one is going to hurt MC and get away with it, not with me here. Time to put my skills to good use.
Grabbing a new cup of coffee I get to work on making sure that these people can’t reach her anymore on any platform that she’s a part of.
*MC’s Pov-The next day
Sun shines through my window waking me up. Ignoring my phone for a little bit I work on getting myself a cup of coffee. New day hopefully with no new messages. I gingerly grab my phone and take a deep breath.
“Ok time to face the music.” I mutter, turning it on and quickly glancing at the screen.
NO NEW MESSAGES
“Oh thank goodness I get to have a little bit of good morning,” I say as I sip my coffee. Scrolling through my messages I quickly notice that all the hate messages and death threats are gone.
RING!
My phone suddenly rings causing me to almost throw it in surprise. I really need to turn that ringer down. Glancing at the screen I notice Jake’s icon pop up as an incoming call. I quickly press answer and move to sit down on my couch.
“Hey Jake.” I say as the call connects through.
“Why didn’t you mention it? Why didn’t you say that you were getting hate and death threats from Lilly’s video?” His voice filters through still distorted through whatever audio thing he uses.
“I didn’t want to worry you guys and I didn’t think it was that important.” I comment quietly as I begin putting the pieces together.
“It’s important to me!” He doesn’t quite yell it but it’s almost a yell. “I could’ve set the software up earlier and you wouldn’t have had to go through all that.”
“I didn’t want to add more to your plate, you are already really busy plus it wasn’t that big of a deal.” I say tightly trying to hold back the overwhelming flow of emotions as the last couple of days begin to catch up to me.
“MC, I don’t care if I’m busy. Yes I want to find Hannah as quickly as possible but I also want to make sure that you are safe as well. I care about you and your wellbeing more than I could ever care about the amount of work I’m going through,” He says gently.
Hearing him say that is the final straw, all the stress and fear from the last couple of days breaks free and I just start crying on the phone. It’s definitely not a pretty cry I can barely speak as Jake tries to console me over the phone. I hear a knock on my front door as I try to get my crying under control.
“MC please open the door,” He says.
I get to my feet and stumble to the front door opening it with my phone still against my ear. Standing in front of my door is a man with a black hoodie, who's holding his phone to his ear.
“Hey MC.” He says gently and ends the phone call. “I can’t stay too long but I wanted to make sure you were doing alright.”
I move aside to let him in and close my door. Putting my phone down I turn to him. He kinda blushes and scratches the back of his neck.
“Sorry I know I should have messaged you ahead of time to let you know that I was coming but I didn’t want to risk it with everything going on.” He says averting his eyes in embarrassment. “Do you want a hug?”
Nodding I wrap my arms around his midsection pressing my face into his shoulder as I sob letting out all the turmoil within me. He gently rubs my back comfortingly.
“It’ll be ok, don’t worry MC. I’ve got you let it all out.” He whispers into my hair as he continues to hold me. We stay like this for a little bit before I finally start to calm down.
Even though I stopped crying Jake hasn’t let go of me, in fact he's holding me tighter. I clear my throat and step back a little bit. Now that I’ve let everything out I’m just feeling drained. He gently guides me to the couch and we sit together on it.
“How long are you going to be able to stay?” I ask quietly, my throat still raw from crying.
“A couple of hours at most but I don’t want to risk it too much.” He says as he wraps his arms around me again pulling me towards him. I’m positioned in a way that makes it so that I am leaning against him with my head over his heart. “No matter what happens I want you to know that I’ll do everything in my power to keep you safe.”
I nod tiredly as the emotional release drains me of all the energy I had. I close my eyes and listen to the gentle rhythm of his heartbeat in my ear. His hand is still rubbing my back gently. Even though I’ve never met this guy in person before with all the texting we’ve been doing I still feel comfortable around him.
Even though I know he’ll be gone soon I’m gonna enjoy this moment for as long as I can. I start to drift off slightly when I feel him press a gentle kiss to my head. I know that we still have a lot of things to do but this moment will be forever imprinted in my memories.
The End
Again I really hope you like your gift! Happy Holidays!!

Meeting the Parents
based on this request:  “Racetrack x reader where she is filthy rich so he goes out to dinner with her family and they don’t like him. He then teaches her what it’s like to be poor? Kinda like the titanic scene??”
masterlist
Tumblr media
Race stands before you, nervously tugging at his shirt collar. You can tell he’s wearing his best clothes, and he’s even forgone his usual newsboy cap to make a better impression. Tonight, after all, is the night he’ll meet your parents for the first time.
You and Race had been dating for a few months now. It all started when your best friend, Katherine, had dragged you along to the lodging house so you could meet the newsboys of Manhattan. You had only gone so you could finally meet Jack Kelly, who she’d been talking about for what felt like forever, but you were instantly distracted by the sight of a newsie with golden curls. He’d been talking to one of his friends, but the second you’d walked through the door he had stopped and stared, all conversations forgotten. Your eyes had met across the crowded room, and in that moment, you knew that this boy was going to be the death of you.
It hadn’t taken him long to ask you out, in that usual flirtatious way of his, and it had taken you an even briefer moment to accept. Race flirted with every girl that crossed his path, that’s just what he did, but once he met you, everyone knew he had finally found someone he truly cared about. You two were so in love that it felt like even Romeo and Juliet were simply vague shadows of what you felt when you were with him.
Before long, your parents began to question why you came home with a grin and a blush, and why they kept hearing voices from your room late at night when you should’ve been asleep. Eventually, they found out that you were dating Race, and so they arranged to meet him tonight. Thus, Race is panicking.
“I’se just worried, you know? I’ve never been to a restaurant this nice, and your family is filthy rich. I mean, you could probably buy yourself an island or something. How am I supposed to tell them I’se a newsie?”
You laugh gently and straighten his collar. “First of all, I think that’s a bit of an overstatement. Second of all, if they see even a quarter of what I see in you, they’ll be more than happy. We just have to make it through one dinner, and then we don’t have to hide our relationship anymore. That’s good, right?”
Race sighs, then turns to face the door. His hand wraps around yours, squeezing for the briefest of moments as if to give him one last boost of strength, then opens the door for you. “Here we go, darlin’.”
You and Race make your way through the maze of tables, trying to find your family. Race is doing his best not to stare at the ornate chandeliers and gilded portraits hanging on the walls. He treads delicately on the fine carpets as if they’re made of crystal. “I feel like I’m a bit out of my league here, Y/N.” You can’t help but laugh at the awestruck expression on his face. “Don’t get too caught up in the decorations. I see them.” Race nods in readiness, then walks with you to your family’s table.
Your father smiles when he sees you. “Y/N, dear, there you are. And this must be-” “Anthony. It’s nice to meet you, sir.” You do your best to hide a smile as Race shakes your father’s hand. Race doesn’t often use his real name, he must be trying his hardest to impress your parents. This idea is confirmed when Race guides you to a seat and pushes in your chair.
With a slight movement of her hand, your mother indicates for the waiter to bring some drinks for all of you. “So, Anthony, it’s lovely to see you at last. How ever did you meet Y/N?” Race smiles, and only you can see the nerves still emanating from his every move. “Uh, I met her while I was at work. A friend of hers introduced us, and I’ve been in love ever since.”
You turn to Race, beaming, but your father leans forward and continues the interrogation. “Ah, a workplace introduction. That’s how I met my wife, actually. I’m a banker, at the Manhattan Alliance down the street.” He smirks coldly, letting his statement sink in. The Manhattan Alliance is one of the biggest banks in New York, so Race definitely feels the pressure growing at the table. “What do you do again, Anthony?”
You hold your breath. This is the one question you had hoped they wouldn’t ask. “I, uh, work with the New York World.” Your father raises an eyebrow inquisitively. “Ah, the newspaper. I know Pulitzer, he’s a good man.” You stifle a grin as Race does his best to not say anything. To the newsies, Pulitzer is anything but good, and hearing your father speak of him as if he’s a saint is taking all of Race’s strength not to break his composure.
Your father continues speaking. “I was talking to Pulitzer just the other day, actually. What is it you do with the World?” Race goes rigid for just a moment, then tilts his head casually. “I work with raising profits for the newspaper through, uh, studying distribution patterns and management, specifically focusing on regions within Manhattan.” Race speaks as confidently as he can. You two have been practicing this line all week to make sure he can translate being a newsie into seeming wealthy. It actually sounds pretty good, if you could say so yourself.
“I understand, I understand.” Your father nods, leaning back in his chair. “What you mean to tell me is that you’re a mere newsboy. No amount of prepared speeches can hide the truth, which is that you are nothing but a street rat, who should be under no circumstances fraternizing with my daughter. Yes, Pulitzer told me all about you. It sounds like you’ve been seen with him, Y/N, and he was eager to tell me just what I would be getting into.”
Your head flies up. “Father! Anthony is perfectly respectable, and what’s more, I love him! Please treat him with the courtesy he deserves!” Your father just shakes his head, a cool glare emanating from him. Your mother speaks up beside him. “You know this won’t work out, Y/N. Please, just get rid of him and let’s move on.”
Race stands up. “I can see I’m not wanted. Well, Mr. L/N, I may be ‘just a street rat’, but I will always love your daughter, no matter how cruel her father.” You stand up too. “I can’t believe either of you. I’m going with him.” Race takes your hand, and as the two of you flee the restaurant, you can hear your mother calling your name.
The second you leave the stuffy restaurant, you turn to your love in despair. “Oh, Race, I’m so sorry. I never thought any of this would happen.” He kisses your cheek softly, then shakes his head to dispel your worries. “Trust me, none of this is your fault. That’s just the thing about rich people- they never want to dirty they’se hands with us commoners. That’s what I like youse so much, Y/N, because you never cared about the money.”
You smile at that, and let Race lead you further away from the restaurant. After you find yourself heading down twisting streets, you realize you have no idea where you are. “Race, where are we going?” He grins, then pulls you down another side street. “If we can’t have that date with your family, we’re going to have fun with mine. Come on, Y/N, it’s just a little further.” You shake your head, laughing, and keep going after Race. You feel like you would follow that boy for forever.
Before you know it, you’re at the lodge. You can hear the distant sounds of music coming from somewhere inside the building, and when Race throws open the door, you’re enveloped in the sounds and sights of what feels like a festival. The newsies are all there, worn out but joyous after a long day of selling. One of the newsboys, who you believe is Albert, makes his way through the crowded room towards the two of you.
“What’cha doing here, Race? I thought you had that date?” When Albert sees you, his eyes clear. “Ah, there ya are.” He takes you in, still in your elegant gown. “You know, if you ever get bored of Racer here, I’d be more than happy to take care of youse.” Race shoves him, and Albert falls back, laughing. “As if I’d let the likes of you anywhere near Y/N.” He turns back to you with a grin, then holds out his hand. “Besides, she’s already dancing with me.”
You accept his hand, still taking in the sights of the room. Boys are crowded into the different areas of the lodge, some talking, some dancing, and some providing a beat by drumming on whatever empty surfaces they can find. All in all, it’s one of the most hectic scenes you’ve ever witnessed, and yet somehow one of the best.
Race leans in close to you, straining to be heard above the din of the room. “See, this is all we need. No mansions, no diamonds, no millions. Just the drums, some friends, and a good time.” You laugh at that, feeling the entire day's stresses run away from you. The aura of pure, unbridled joy surrounds you. Without strict social norms, without imposing parents or gossiping wives, you can at last breathe and let yourself have fun. Here, you can finally be yourself.
Race takes your hand and leads you to the groups of dancers. He places his hand on your waist, keeping the other clasped around yours, guiding you to the beat. The steps are slow at first, but as the boys drumming start to get more excited, the two of you move faster and faster until you’re breathless, both from dancing and from laughing. Race lets go of you to spin you, and the two of you spin around and around until the walls are tilting and you have to cling to Race so you don’t fall over.
The room seems too hot to think straight, what with all the boys packed together, so Race leads you to a balcony. The cold night air is a balm to your flushed skin, and you breathe it in happily. “See, we may not have millions, but we do manage to have a good time.” Race declares, leaning against the balcony’s railing next to you. “That you do. I don’t think I’ve laughed that much since I was little.” Race looks over at you, the moon shining in his curls. “That right there is a crime, darlin’. You’se got a smile that’s too pretty to hide away.” You glance away from him, blushing, but Race turns your head back with the tips of his fingers so he can kiss you. You kiss him back, rejoicing in the feeling of him next to you and wishing that this night could last forever.

Diego Hargreeves x reader
Summary: You and Klaus cause some mischief in the local liquor store while Diego does a terrible job at stopping you.
Tumblr media
It’s a cold October night, Diego would honestly love nothing more then to cuddle up next to you on your guys bed back in your warm apartment. But the universe appears to have other plans, so here he is, standing behind you and Klaus as the two of you discuss amongst yourselves which brand has the best alcohol. You’re completely oblivious to Diego’s inner thoughts as your eyes scan over the different labels and their prices. You don’t notice when Klaus’ attention shifts from the various beverages to a festive poster on the nearby store window. He chuckles when he spots the poster of Dracula holding a red glass of wine as little black bats dance around him. Klaus’ head turns towards you and then at another store patron who’s just trying to mind their business.
“Vhatch out for Y/N...she’s come to svuck your vlood.” Snickers Klaus in his best Transylvanian accent as he holds up his pointer fingers near his mouth to show off mock vampire fangs. The random lady nearby just gives him an odd look, turning away and making a beeline for the next isle. Klaus snaps his attention back to you as he continues his little theatrics, you just do your best to suppress your laughter.
“Stop it Klaus.” Warns Diego with a brotherly roll of his eyes. You turn to Diego with a mischievous smirk as your eyes playfully darken.
“He’s right Diego, I’ll turn you into one of my minions.” You retort as you fake growl at him, he just shakes his head as a small smile forms onto his lips. Deciding to have a bit of fun with your two favorite boys, you indulge in Klaus antics.
“I am a vampire seductress who wants something delicious to drink this fine evening. Klaus my dear, pick the flavor.” He nods with a cheeky grin as he turns to scan down the long isle, looking for just the right bottle.
“M’lady whateth should I choose? I’m thinking the most pricey, would you agree?” Asks Klaus, now choosing to really play the part as a medieval peasant of sorts, throwing in an accent and everything. You turn to him, he’s holding up a beautiful ruby red 200 dollar bottle of the good stuff, your eyes go wide in excitement.
“Brilliant. We’ve got our treasure, now let us make off with the loot.”
“Y/N cover me while I hide it.” Whispers Klaus, you walk over to him and as casually as ever to block anyone’s view from watching as he shoves the expensive bottle into his jacket, like this is the most normal thing in the world. Diego attempts to look over your shoulder to put together what the hell you two are doing. You swiftly twist around to face him like nothing out of the ordinary just happened, you and Klaus definitely did not just steal anything.
“Did Klaus just steal that bottle?” Wonders Diego as he crosses his arms over his muscular chest. You furrow your brows in false confusion while Klaus stops to stare an accusing eye at Diego.
“What? Did you see someone stealing something?” You ask him casually, he gives you an amusing are-you-actually-kidding-me face in reply. You just smile up at him as sweetly as ever, “That’s illegal you know.”
“Very, so if you saw something you better report it. Never know what kind of delinquents are running these streets.” Adds Klaus with a knowing look, the both of you flash Diego a tight lipped smile before walking past him towards the end of the isle. The both of you heading straight for the glass doors at the front of the store when suddenly Diego catches both your arms, one in each of his own hands, you and Klaus snap your heads to him with annoyed faces.
“You two aren’t stealing anything.” His voice is serious and calm as his dark eyes flash in between the two of you.
“What’s this Klaus? A goblin trying to take our stash, I think not.” You announce to Diego and Klaus with a sassy hair flip. Diego releases the two of you as he gives you an frustrated glare.
“My vampire mistress will put a spell on you, and HA HA you won’t be able to rain on our picnic anymore.” Whisper yells Klaus as he sticks his tongue out at Diego. Diego lets out a tired sigh, putting his gloved hands up in surrender, deciding it wise to let you two have your fun. He honestly really wants to see if you’ll get caught or not, giving him another reason to possibly catch up on the dealings around the police department. You and Klaus link your arms together as you both continue to walk down the long isle of various alcoholic beverages. When you make it to the carpet at the front door, the 78-year-old half blind cashier calls for you guys to stop and turn around. Your nerves prick, more-so in annoyance then anything else, but like the veteran thief that you are you know exactly what to do to charm the old fart. Giving him the sweetest of smiles you walk in front of Klaus and slowly up to the cash register.
“How’s ya evin’ Marv?” You ask with a bit of Brooklyn charm, you’re a slight regular at this joint and he’s always in the mood to talk to you. Better yet, Marv’s incredibly easy to convince and you’re about to work your magic like a boss.
“Oh you know, same old same old. Always nice when you come ‘round these parts.” You keep a forced smile as you quickly shift your eyes to the right, catching a surprised Diego who catches your gaze before he heads out the door with a disapproving shake of his head. You turn to fully face Marv once again, batting your lashes like a teen in love.
“Is that a new shirt? I’m loving the whole Hawaiian floral get up, it adds a bright splash of color to the usual dreary autumn weather.”
“Oh yeah, you really think so? Aw sweetheart you’re just saying that.” He gushes with a wave of his wrinkled hand. You let out a small fake laugh, keeping the mood light and fluffy, just giving enough time for Klaus to make off with the riches.
“No I’m one-hundred percent serious it suites you well.....uh anyways..Marv its been a time, but I really gotta go. See ya when I see ya.” You say with a tiny wave of goodbye, but as you turn to leave you “accidentally” bump into the side of a large cardboard cut-out of the latest Budweiser can. It goes down with a less then dramatic crash to the grubby tiled floor. Your head snaps up to Marv with the best sad face you can muster as you clutch your hands together like an abashed Victorian maiden.
“Shit I’m such a klutz. Your poor sign.” You exclaim, he just chuckles as he walks around to where the sign has fallen.
“Oh no worries. Anyone coulda sent it tumbling, I’ll just havta move it to the other side is all.” Replies Marv while he leans down to pick up the large cut-out, you give him a friendly smile as he walks over to the other side of the counter setting it down and walking back behind the register. By the time he reaches the counter which feels like a thousand years later, you’ve reached the front doors. You say a last goodbye before hearing the bell chime when you open up the doors and swiftly make your way out of the liquor store. The air is crisp and a burst of wind smacks you right in the face, sending your hair in various directions. You flick it out of your face, unbothered by the current weather conditions you walk further down the sidewalk, heading straight for Diego’s car. Like the sly fox you are, you reach into your coat and casually pull out the concealed bottle of top of the line tequila you may have just stolen. You catch the wide eyes of Diego from inside the car as your face breaks out into a huge smile while you joyously raise your bottle into the air like you’ve just won the World Cup. You quickly open up the passenger side door, getting in and shutting it to keep the cold out.
“One hundred points for Vampire Seduction.”
“Y/N you sly motherfucker.” Smiles Klaus from the backseat as he shakes your shoulder, impressed with your thieving skills.
“I played that old bear like a violin. He’ll never suspect a thing.”
“Cheers to that m’lady, we’re like....pirates.... truly amazing.”
“You know Klaus you kinda look like Jack Sparrow, just grow out the hair a bit and find a red bandanna and wallah, pirate.”
“Y/N you’ve just found my Halloween costume. Oh hey, you could be a vampire mistress and Diego could be the seduced servant guy.”
“You two just stole from a store, that’s a crime.” Interrupts Diego like a mother goose telling off her naughty children. You just let out an amused huff of air as Klaus blows a raspberry at Diego.
“Oh come on bro, have a little fun. No cameras and that dude is practically blind. And anyways, look at the cool shit we got.” Replies Klaus excitedly while he holds up his bottle, Diego glares at the two of you as you suppress the urge to laugh once again. He’s so dramatic sometimes with his whole vigilante hero/ failed cop persona going on, you forget that not everything you do is agreed upon in his eyes when it comes to breaking the law. You can’t help it that stealing things with Klaus is incredibly entertaining to you, sometimes being the hero all the damn time can get so boring.
“Still a crime.” Grumbles Diego, you suddenly lean in close to his face, staring deep into his chocolate irises, his breath catches in his throat. You smirk at him, “Or whatta gonna do pretty boy? Turn us in?” Klaus lets out “ohhhh” from behind the two of you as Diego seemingly forgets how to speak. He looks rather adorable all flustered from your abrupt change in positioning. He opens his mouth to probably reply with something sarcastic or heroic, so to shut him up you crash your lips into his. The kiss is a quick one, but it’s all you needed to do in order to shut that pretty mouth of his. You sit back in your seat, a satisfied smile appearing onto your lips while you hold the bottle of tequila in your lap.
“Diego she just used Vampire Seduction on you. Y/N that was brilliant, now make him take us to the trampoline park.” Says Klaus while unknowingly breaking the sexual tension between you and Diego. You giggle as Diego blinks, snapping out of the brief post kiss confusion you just handed him.
“Uh...no trampoline park, you’re going home and then me and Y/N are going to have a fun rest of our night with that bottle of tequila.” Your eyes glance over to a grinning Diego, it appears that your simple plan to quiet him has suddenly turned his mind onto you. And everything he plans on doing with you once Klaus is gone and you’re back at the apartment. You bite your lip in anticipation while Diego drives down the road, your own mind swirling with images of a soon to be shirtless Diego and other fun nightly activities to follow.
