talking to preschoolers is awesome bc they have not fully differentiated stories into 'true stories' and 'imaginary stories' yet so you will tell them about something that happened you once (coyote came out of a bush right in front of you and got startled) and they will tell you about how one time their house was full of coyotes in every room 'including five in the garage' and they're not even like, aware i think of the idea that they are technically 'lying'. they are simply telling stories about coyotes bc its time to tell stories about coyotes.

#like ppl will be like 'kids love to lie' but i think whats going on is the human inclination to storytell. which is pointedly different imo #and like to be clear im not saying they dont know there weren't actually coyotes in their house #its just that like. they don't know why it would matter

literally my favorite aspect of sock opera is bill calmly but repeatedly failing to buckle his seatbelt. like its funny enough that Bill Cipher of all people is putting on a seatbelt but its so funny that he keeps fucking it up. but he's still just smiling like a dumbass the entire time

#from a storyboarding angle i get it #because in the next shot he turns towards dipper in a pretty cool looking way and theres the thing with the reflection #so they had to keep him looking the other way Somehow #but its really funny that the way they went about it was This Grown Man Can't Buckle A Seatbelt #like. i love the quiet sound effects too. its really funny to me in a way i cant describe #sock opera is good because we get to see a lot of bill's body language and the crew did a very good job in showing the physical differences #-between bill and dipper #this also goes for carpet diem. the gf crew is rlly good at body language #doc talks #gravity falls #undescribed
