"Look at them, darling." Leona's voice sliced through the air like a blade, sharp and chilling, as he pointed to the prisoners with a venomous tone that dripped with malice. Each word carried the weight of his disdain, echoing through the grand stadium halls with a ferocity that demanded attention.

His murmurs held the intensity of a primal growl, a silent but potent threat hanging in the air, urging for retribution to be exacted. "For every injury that is marked on your body, every cut and bruise, let their punishment bring you comfort, my beloved."

You settled beside him, suppressing a grimace that threatened to surface as you adjusted in your throne. It felt as though tiny needles pricked at every inch of your skin, sending great waves of discomfort coursing through your limbs like a hellish torment. Clenching Leona's hand tightly, you drew in a steadying breath, your gaze scanning the faces of those who had wronged you.

These were the individuals who had never fully accepted you because you were someone with no royal backstory or noble blood. A commoner, an outsider who didn't the deserve the title of Prince /princess consort. They spread rumors about your nature, twisted it, said you only wanted Leona for his money and to warm his bed. Though the rumors were hurtful, you had initially chosen to ignore them, understanding that their minds were steeped in outdated prejudices.

You thought that with time they would see you for who you really are. You were wrong.

Their malice didn't stop at mere gossip; they took your silence as incentive to take things to another whole level. That was... An attempt against your life.

"Leo..." You call out to him, searching for him as if he was all the air you needed to live for another day. The mere space between you two seeming like a wall to you, so cold and cruel. And he realizes it instantly.

He realizes it as he realized that you liked to pepper his face with little kisses when you thought he was asleep or how he realized that you liked to curl all over his chest, like a little kitten. He acts on his instinct quickly, softly. He doesn't even think.

Leona's arms encircled you in a tender embrace not caring that everyone was watching each and every move he made. He couldn't care less, he just wanted to comfort you, to show you he was here for you and always will be. Shivers ran down your spine but in the warmth of his arms, you felt a surge of mixed emotions — most of all was relief. You were safe here, those wounds felt somehow lighter, as if his presence alone had the power to heal even the deepest of hurts.

As if on his arms, there was nothing that could hurt you. No danger, no pain, no nothing.

"I'm here, beloved." He whispered right in your ears, nuzzling his face agains the top of your head. "And I'm not going anywhere. I'm going to protect you from everything and everyone so don't ever feel afraid again."

You knew he was telling the truth. You felt yourself calming down, watching over his shoulder as the executioner sharpened his axe calmly. This whole thing was an spectacle for the others to see and learn, not to touch you, not to talk or be near you.

You let your head fall to Leona's chest, holding onto him for dear life. And as you gazed into his eyes, you knew that in his embrace, you had everything you needed. You had love, protection, you could stay like this forever. His heart was beating lazily on his chest, slow rhythm making you close your eyes and surrender yourself to him. He would protect you after all. You had no doubt about it.

A trumpet sounded loud, annoyingly loud as a man informed everyone of the execution that was about to take place. Your attackers, three men and a woman, started walking. You peeked in their direction. Their complexions were worn and weak, ears lowered to their heads as they walked in a line, staring at their feet. It was a sad sight that you wouldn't have had to see if they didn't had stuck their noses where they didn't belong. This could no longer be avoided.

"I know it's shocking for you," Leona murmured to you, fixing your hair as it fell across your face with quick fingers. He slightly turned his head to send a look full of disdain towards the prisoners. “But that’s how we do things around here. I need to show them, show them that nobody can't mess with someone I love. Close your eyes if it becomes unbearable to watch."

The sun was high in the sky, casting long shadows across the stadium. Murmurs of expectation and horror ran through the rows of spectators, who anxiously awaited the morbid spectacle.

On the gallows, the four prisoners knelt, hands tied behind their backs, heads bowed in resignation or perhaps in silent prayer. The executioner, a burly man with a leather mask that hid his face, wielded a large, sharp axe, the blade reflecting the sunlight. Beside him, an assistant read aloud the crimes of the condemned, each word echoing in the silent now stadium.

"The first prisoner, accused of attempted bribery and obstruction of justice," The assistant announced, as the prisoner raised his head, staring at the crowd. His eyes, full of defiance, met those of a specific spectator, who was holding a handkerchief, tears falling freely.

You felt nauseous, bile rising on your throat. He had someone waiting for him, who would mourn his death. Why would he do something so drastic like this?

The executioner stepped forward, positioning himself next to the prisoner. With a firm movement, he raised the axe, waiting for the assistant's signal.

"Let justice be done," Said the assistant as Leona nodded, and the axe descended in a deadly arc.

The crowd held its breath, only to let out a collective gasp as the blade did its duty. The lifeless body was quickly kicked from the gallows by the executioner. He was so nonchalantly too, almost as if he didn't cared that he just killed a person. You squeezed Leona's hand, closing your eyes as the assistant read over the crimes committed by the second prisoner.

The latter, visibly shaking to anyone paying close attention, screamed prayers under his ragged breaths. He was terrified. Terrified of death just like you had been.

Asking for forgiveness, pleasing, crying.

Your eyes remained closed as you heard the axe descending, the sound it made every time it made contact with skin was indescribable. It made you sick. It was rough, dry. Blood soaking the ground, never dripping, forming a red puddle. You didn't open your eyes till you the assistant started reading the fourth prisoner crimes.

The fourth prisoner, a frail-looking woman, scanned the crowd with her hard, uncaring eyes. If she was looking for a familiar face, you didn't know. You'd rather not know, as she was the mastermind behind the attack even if she pretends not to be.

"Accused of contaminating evidence, attempted intentional homicide, and contempt of authority," The assistant said, his voice reverberating with a mixture of disdain.

She raised her face to the sky, accepting her fate with surprising calm. The executioner, although ruthless, hesitated for a brief moment before raising the axe one last time.

"May the gods have mercy on your soul," He murmured, inaudible to everyone except himself.

The axe came down and the final sound was drowned out by the clamor of the crowd, divided between applause and screams of horror. The justice had been served, leaving a trail of blood and death on the gallows, as the sun continued its relentless ascent across the sky, not paying attention to the human suffering below.

It was over. It was over, you were never going to see those people again. A shaky sigh left you as you turned to Leona.

"Let's go home?"

He looked at you, little smile on his lips as he nodded. Home, where you would be safe inside the palace's walls, home, where you would cuddle him and he would embrace, and protect you and love you forever.

He stand up, as customs dictate, his eyes travel through the stadium and pass briefly by the headless bodies. He turns to you, taking your hand on his, Leona guided you without looking back. To home.

To new people who are joining/ may join the Danny Phantom fandom...

Since new people are joining or may be joining the Danny Phantom fandom because of the graphic novel A Glitch in Time novel that came out last year, i feel there are some things that should be addressed before starting to participate in the phandom.

That is, if you come with the mentality that the Danny Phantom fandom works just like fandoms from modern animated series do, they you have likely been informed wrong.

I say this as someone who has been part of the Amphibia, The Owl House, The Ghost and Molly Mcgee and other modern animated series fandoms- the Danny Phantom fandom doesn't care about shipping wars, nor the character a person likes (considering characters like Vlad and Dan are very popular characters) nor going dark with its ideas (like having Danny being dissected).

A lot of the dumb stuff that usually happens in modern animation fandoms like harassment because someone ships Tucker x Danny instead of Sam x Danny, or in occasions that turns into downright doxxing- that shit is frowned down in the phandom. This is because this fandom has already been through that many years ago and most of us are adults over 20+ years old.

Like, yeah. If you see someone who is spreading actual racist propaganda, bring an overall bigot, harassing others, etc. Of course, bring it up. That's an actual problem that is worth of alerting others about. There are actual problems that exist in fandom that are worth of talking or discussing about.

What i'm talking about is petty drama that is very common to see in animation fandoms nowadays. Saying things like ¨if this person doesn't like Jazz, then they are sexist¨, yeah, those kind of things won't work in this fandom because a lot of us are older and know better than to engage with pointless discourse.

On second point, please watch the show. Yes, the writing isn't always the best, continuity kinda sucks and there are things that are outdated because it is a Butch Hartman show from 20 years ago. But still, engage with the series of the fandom you want to be part of to understand things better. Just don't stay with the fanon stuff. Try watching the series and use what you like from it based on that.

Having said that, have fun in joining the Phandom!

Wait, so IS pressuring people to talk about Palestine actually working as a strategy to help people affected by it? Like I can understand pressuring companies to divest, but like random people. Like... people you don't know well.

Because I thought that the most helpful thing you could do was donate money because that actually helps people relocate. Like I don't like talking about things unless I have these criteria:

-an understanding of the nuances (which as people have pointed out-I'm not great at understanding nuances) of the situation from reliable resources that I can guarantee are not spreading misinformation

-a call to action that isn't likely to be a scam.

Like I don't mind if I accidentally donate to a fake gofundme because that's my money. I do mind sharing something that ends up being a fake gofundme, because then I'm part of the scam.

I have fallen for scams before and gotten caught up in the hype of it and its getting increasingly easier to make one. So I am conscious of that and I don't want that for other people.

But there's so much emphasis on talking about it, even if you're working with outdated information or incorrect phrasing, or if someone is using the tragedy as excuse to be either antisemitic or islamophobic (I have seen it happen, even in posts where I know the person I follow well and I know that's not their intention. The whistles change often.) And I don't want to spread any of those things.

So if I simply donate what I can to causes that I think are legit, I think that should be okay. But it sounds like that's not okay.

Here you go Lily. Here is a bunch of stoners arguing the very indepth and backed up facts about weed. They go after the real reasons weed was/has been illegal for so long. This song came out in 2011 so their is some reference that are outdated.

Note weed does have some minor negative effects. But so do most medications and our own environment. Nothing is completely safe. Weed is the least damaging amount alot of the other medications options. Especially because now a days you don't have to smoke it. They have goodies with exact measurements of THC and CBD in said goodies. So it's becoming even less dangerous. The mager probably with weed was the smoke. But now a days that's a choice and a completely optional way to consume it. You can not like weed Lily but don't lie about it. I get it stoners can be super pushy and annoying. I can't smoke weed because of pain management so I'm the only one in my family not engaging in weed. But they usually drop it after you say no. But if you then go on a lecture with miss information then yeah they are going to probably push back or laugh at you. But take it in strides or leave. Stoners are the last people to make you stay somewhere you don't want to be or are upsetting the chill vibes. But I get it being told weed helps them deal with chemo makes you have to reconsider your stance. And you don't like being wrong. But don't spread misinformation.

Show premise:

The Mark Side centers around titular character Mark's strained relationship with his childhood best friend Benjamin, who due to years of communication issues now absolutely despises him. Mark however, seems blind to the obvious deterioration their relationship has had, as he harbors major unrequited romantic feelings towards him.

Mirroring the two are Jonathon and Kenny, the other half of the friend group who through their years of knowing each other have communicated and helped each other through hardships, presenting as a strong, healthy couple today because of it.

After a summer of not being on speaking terms, Mark manages to wiggle his way back into the friend group again only to find a new guy has 'replaced him'— Ash, Benjamin's new boyfriend.

It takes place in the fictional town of Ohwell, Texas in the late 2010's!

Season 1 will showcase the arc of Mark struggling to maintain his place in the friend group despite his jealousy whilst also dealing with a plethora of emotional and complex family issues.

The main takeaway theme is that most scenarios are less black and white than one may assume at first glance, showcased by the characters being the antagonists of themselves instead of portraying one character as the villain.

All while maintaining a good balance of humor through an expressive and cartoony style! Humor and style draws lots of inspiration from 2000's Cartoon Network and Disney XD shows!

The whole thing is weird and stupid because Jess didn’t think this through when she sent those photos in. Did she forget that she posted videos of herself recently when her hair wasn’t even that long and if she follows Jamie her “partner” that she “cares about”, does she know that his hair wasn’t that long and clearly she forgot the snowboarding bag that he was carrying behind him in that picture, even the clothes they were wearing screams winter and it is Fall……They said they are still going strong but using old photos because most likely Just Jared doesn’t know that those pictures are old. They think it’s new because that is what was sent to them and were probably told it is new. They said they were keeping a low profile because that is what was told to them or a guess. Yes, Jamie is really popular but he’s not A-list level YET so why would Just Jared even care about his relationship status? Secondly what fans (other than a big collective, but even we don't want a tabloid to confirm what we already see) would put that much energy into wondering if they’re still together for an article or tabloid to confirm that they’re still together? Then Just Jared on top of that lie and contradict themselves by saying that fans think they're still together? If they say fans think they're still together who are the others thinking the opposite?? Why post about it if the “fans think they're still together” ?? Even if we fans didn’t think that they were (which most of us don't) why wait months and months to just now post this? Why not post them before?? Or at all when they were seen together before Jamie stopped that besides YSL and other big events they went to?? Clearly, the relationship is not going very well and Jamie is ignoring Jess’s existence and is damn near done with her and she’s spiraling and panicking sending those photos in to try to debunk the breakup rumors cause she is about to get dumped or is already dumped. This proves Jamie is not messing with her BIG TIME, she's outing herself at this point. She is still that gold-digging narcissist. She didn’t have any current photos of him and that’s proof as to why she sent those old pictures in from last year. People need to know those photos are old and tell Just Jared that they're spreading false information if they even care.

I seriously doubt Just Jared cares about spreading misinformation, especially if someone paid them to write the article in the first place. Let’s be real—Jamie and his relationship aren’t exactly front-page material. He’s not an A-lister, and no one needed a reminder that he and Jess are supposedly 'still going strong.' The timing of this post is strange, and no tabloid would be this invested without some outside push. And it’s pretty obvious that push came from Jess herself.

The real giveaway is that the photos are clearly old, and Jess didn’t have anything more recent—like from an event or trip together—to send in. We all know Jamie’s doing his best to act like he doesn’t even know who she is, keeping her at arm’s length whenever possible. If her name does come up, which is rare, he never actually says it and doesn’t offer much.

This whole PR stunt reeks of desperation, and I’m pretty sure Jess orchestrated the whole thing because either they’re not together anymore or something’s gone wrong in their relationship. She should’ve been more careful, though, because even casual observers have been pointing out how outdated those photos are. I saw a comment wondering why they were dressed for winter while supposedly in L.A. It’s not like people don’t notice.

Jess is probably feeling pretty smug right now since that Just Jared post got over 10K likes, but we all know she monitors herself online. She’s definitely aware of the breakup rumors, and she’s probably seen how many people have already figured out the photos aren’t recent. Honestly, it’s concerning what her next move will be. If she was desperate enough to pull this stunt—and it flopped, which she knows it did—there’s no telling what she’ll try next.

Anyways... I collect old, unwanted technology. Computers, pokégear, outdated pokédexes, you name it. I can also fix things if you want... Although, they might not come back quite the same. The glitchiness isn't usually that bad though. I also like to share fun information I sometimes find, or talk about little things that happen here in cyberspace. leetspeak information post

so if you're someone who's played old online games as a kid and would see the numbers 1337 somewhere, either in someones username or put in a random spot on the map, or would notice random numbers in the middle of peoples names replacing letters- thats leetspeak! in fact, 1337 is the word leet written in leetspeak!

leetspeak is when you use different characters on a keyboard to replace letters in words so that they are harder to read for people who don't know it, and that way you can hide messages from people in plain sight.

history

it gained its popularity in the 80s when speaking to people around the world online started to grow in numbers. pretty much the only way to communicate with people online via computers and the network was using a BBS, Bulletin Board System, that was basically forums before they were called forums. right before IRC existed too! this language was commonly used by people who claimed themselves as hackers, or H4X0RS, and their knowledge of accessing hidden away files and system controls allowed them to be known as the "elite", giving them the title 31EE7 H4X0R. the most famous hacker at the time was Kevin Mitnick, who got arrested at one point in 95 by the FBI for computer hacking and wire fraud. if you're into 2000s gaming and his last name sounds familiar to you, thats because he's even referenced in Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines and is the name of the hacker Nosferatu in Hollywood!

leetspeak is a wonderful way to keep yourself and your thoughts hidden online from the general public, and especially from specific groups of people that you don't want finding you. as well, you can write a word in any way you want in leetspeak! you don't have to use the same replacing characters twice!

as well, leetspeak is an outdated way of communication, and most people have forgotten that it even exist, so its very likely that the people youre trying to talk shit about will be one of those people, and they'll never know how to find you! and even if they DID remember it existed, theyre probably too lazy to try and figure out the various combinations anyway, so youre always safe!

how to learn

learning leetspeak is especially easy to do when you practice it yourself. often the most common forms of leetspeak that is normalized is changing letters to numbers that look similar, such as E to 3, A to 4, G to 6, and so on so forth. there is also different levels of leetspeak that can be used to make the messages even harder to read for those inexperienced, so your secrets are extra safe.

here are some examples of words being turned into leetspeak at varying degrees of experience:

the reason why the leetspeak versions of these words might be easy for you to understand right now is obviously because the actual words are right next to it. 8u7 1f 1 \/\/343 2 $7@47 7@|k1|\|6 |1k3 7h1$ ["but if i were to start talking like this"], then its very likely you won't be able to read it!

on the wiki page for leetspeak, there's a chart that list the most common combinations of replacements for letters that can be used

switching up how you do these various combinations can make you so hard to find that you'll basically disappear from people's searches entirely! making you safe from groups that are prone to harassment, bullying, and the like.

and, psst, for tumblr use especially, you could use this to spread awareness for a lot of topics that staff usually will delete entire posts and blogs over. staff won't know what to do when they suddenly can't find anymore more posts about 9/\|_3$71|\|3 to block.

leetspeak isn't that accessible for some people

leetspeak does not generally do well with people who have disabilities and the like that affects their ability to read, and is not a friendly language when it comes to screen readers.

sadly, tho, that is technically what you have to sacrifice if you want to use it to be hidden. some of your followers won't be able to read a post that you used leetspeak on to be able to avoid being detected, thus they miss out on whatever youre saying. and that can suck.

the best way to keep it as accessible as possible is learning the lower level form of leetspeak and using it in posts, such as only changing some of the letters in words to numbers, l1ke th1s, so that they can somewhat get a general idea as to what youre attempting to say.

there are some sites that do give the option to decode leetspeak, such as 1337.me and dcode.fr, however those sites rely on the old typical chart of leetspeak characters, so if you try to decode someone's unique way of hidden a message, it likely will come out not making sense.

for example, this is what the decoder thinks 9|~()9|_&|\/|$ spells. mind you that this is supposed to spell "problems".

this is how i would have to write it in order for the decoder to understand what i'm saying.

but if i try to put that same "fixed spelling" into the second decoder, it comes out as this

so, sadly, higher forms of leetspeak are not very friendly towards people who have difficulty reading, so if you want your post to be accessible for those individuals, then its best to either use the lower form of leetspeek, as 1n r3plac1ng as l1ttl3 l3tt3rs as p0ss1bl3 ["as in replacing as little letters as possible"], or to just u.s.e p.e.r.i.o.d.s so that the words get spelt out.

of course, if a person with a disability that affects their reading really wanted to, they could attempt to learn how to read it in their own way, such as learning what numbers replace which letters and what certain combinations of characters stand for. very much more power to them if they can, but that cant be easy. and i only wish the best for them.

also, the biggest and most obvious draw back- people who are not experienced or straight up do not speak english will have an impossibly difficult time reading it, some of them not even being able to use it for their own language depending on what it is. which, again, is why it's suggested to use the lower form of it or to just use periods in between words.

conclusion

if youre someone who is into the history of the old internet and has the time and ability to learn something new, PLEASE LEARN LEETSPEAK!!! it can be so so so so useful in the long run and i think it's a lovely way to communicate in secret, especially with how terrible internet secret and privacy has become in recent years, sometimes it can used as a last resort in order to make sure no one out there can be able to track and find you.

and its so much fun to figure out new ways to spell things! and the aesthetics of it can be very pretty!! and i just think its neat!!! please learn leetspeak!!!!!

I think I finally know how to put into words why TERFS are not feminists. We know they aren't feminists, this isn't some great revelation I'm making here, we know this already. And nothing I'm about to say is original, either. But I'm saying it anyway because I think I finally figured out how to put it into words.

Long post so under the cut (:

TERFS think trans women are men invading women's spaces. They think this because they think all men are bad and the root cause of all evil, so they think trans women are just another way for men to gain access to and be violent towards women.

TERFS:

P1) All men are evil and trying to hurt women

P2) Trans women are men

P3) Trans women are trying to get into women's spaces, such as the woman's bathroom

P4) Men often attack women in women's spaces (e.g. bathrooms)

C) Trans women are in fact evil men trying to hurt women.

The "men are all evil" idea is bioessentialism: "by nature of being born a man, someone immediately wants to hurt women, and a good man is one who resists these natural urges". It is at this point that I would like to state something that once again you'll probably find pretty obvious: the vast majority of TERFs are not biologists, geneticists, psychologists, etc. They don't *know* that gender is rooted in biology because this is not a true fact (Hell, as early as a level psychology we learn that gender is rooted in nurture much more than nature, with nature as a sort of signifier to inform the nurture-based idea of gender at large, and your own gender). Or, to put it another way, they know it in the same way people once "knew" the sun revolved around the earth. TERFs are living under an outdated paradigm: P1.

Now, let's keep going- TERFs ideas on trans men: they think trans men are women who are confused or delusional, or "brainwashed by trans propaganda", and need to be saved in some way. TERFs on trans men:

P1) Women are naturally weaker mentally than big evil scary strong men

P2) Trans men are women

P3) Tansgender is a delusion

P4) Women are more likely to fall prey to delusions

C) Trans men are actually just confused women who need protection.

Do you see how none of that is based in reality or science, but it all stems from P1? It's sexism. "Trans men are women who are confused and need protecting." Why do they need protecting? "Because women are so confused, poor things". If you believe women are naturally weaker than men, transphobia follows.

Most TERFs also seem to believe non binary people are all afab, so use the same logic as above on us, but with a couple additional premises:

- non binary is woman lite

- non binary people are actually women

And the few who know amab people can be non binary too seem to follow the same logic as in the first set of premises- that they are "actually men invading women's spaces".

So, in conclusion, TERF ideas come from a place of sexism and bioessentialism. And this is why I think that, while spreading awareness and fighting the stereotypes around trans people are of course needed and important, it won't help TERFs realise their ideology is flawed. It's the contradiction, the "I'm a feminist but women are inferior" that we need to be pointing out here. Attack P1, and P2 falls. TERFs are not feminists because their ideology is rooted in sexism.

fair point that the founding of a movement is relevant to its modern perception but I don't think that excuses spreading outdated information as if it is current, and as if it is the most relevant aspect of the movement, rather than the fact that it is a militant response to israels subjugation of palestine. I can't tell you how to feel abt their origins but "hamas wants to eradicate all jews" is just incorrect and misleading people. I also know there are jewish (and christian) palestinians. this is relevant to hamas specifying their resistance is to israel, not towards jewish people.

In 2017 bechdel made a blog post about a dying irl friend who she knew for years. It was, in fact, THAT FRIEND who praised mitchfest. Bechdel took her words and put it in her blog post.

I don't know Maggie Jochild's stances on trans women, because apparently in the 90's, male socialization had a different meaning than it does now. I'll never know what she truly meant, because she died 3 days after this blog post was made. Her Twitter, which is still up, doesn't give that much information either because it's all old and mostly updates about her health.

Bechdel could be bigoted against trans women. I dont know her personally snd i never will. But the only evidence I've found is some outdated wording, some strange writing choices about the trans women in DTWOF (which I agree have been...strange), maybe being friends with a transphobe, and going to mitchfest once in the 90's, which I will happily criticize her for.

If you want to read more about mitchfest, THIS blog post from an attendee talks about the transmisogyny the head of mitchfest perpetuated, while demonstrating that there were a lot of attendees who wanted trans women to attend as well (and trans men but again...no one's perfect).

I'm glad that festival is gone because the head of it was a right piece of shit, even if she did correct herself in later years. And so does the author of this article. But that's not the point. The point is that misinformation is easy to spread around and facts to be twisted.

And this all started from people pointing out that the creator of homestuck is a racist, ableist, antisemitic creep who thought 13 year olds were hot when they were an adult. No one was attacking them for being nonbinary

here's a PSA on Researching stuff and discourse shit

While researching any kind of information, you might stumble upon various articles, studies, and other materials on the topic you are interested in. But, here's the thing, it is important to look up the most recently reviewed or understood research on that topic.

Like, using an article from 2006 about how autism works might be useful...except it might have out-of-date data compared to more recent research done in the past few years (2020-2023). I would trust an article done in 2021 over an article done in 2006 because it would be more up-to-date with a more recent understanding of the autistic spectrum. Relying on the older article will risk me spreading misinformation.

This is a very simplified explanation of the broad topic of "how to research", but it's really important to know if you are doing research.

This article claims that video games contribute to childhood violence, disrespect, and dehumanization. Note that one of the studies mentioned in the article, Denying Humanness to Others: A Newly Discovered Mechanism by Which Violent Video Games Increase Aggressive Behavior, was written in 2011.

Well, just by searching "violence video games 2023" in Bing I found:

There's mention of new and improved research to better focus on how people engage with video games.

Stanford researchers scoured every reputable study for the link between video games and gun violence that politicians point to. Here’s what the review found by David Dupee, Varun Thvar, and Nina Vasan - May 2023 - Fortune - article discusses how current research and studies do not find any link between video games and gun violence, how video games aid mental health, and mentioned how conservative groups often used video games as a scapegoat to blame gun violence and school shootings. The article also concluded that the best way to reduce gun violence is through gun control.

Just a game? by Chris Lines - City University London - Nov 2021 - found via this ScienceDaily article - articles discuss how a study found that while participants were more likely to destroy things, they did not carry out violence against other people. The article also says that "policies that place restrictions on video game sales to minors are unlikely to reduce violence" (quoting from Dr. Suziedelyte in the article).

So yeah, keep up with what is being discussed about these things. It is okay to look into old articles and research to see what was being discussed at the time, but it's important to keep up-to-date, too.
