"Rise and shine, sleepyhead!" Lance called, a mug of coffee in one hand while he nudged open Pidge's bedroom door with the other.

He half-expected her to be slumped over her desk, her laptop still open with her head lolling forward. Or even, maybe for once, she actually made it to bed before falling asleep. But no, her room was completely empty of life, except for Artemis curled up on a pillow on the made bed.

The white cat perked her head up, staring at Lance with curious green eyes. The mug slipped out of Lance's fingers, coffee soaking into the ugly beige carpet while it shattered against the hardwood of the hall.

Lance rubbed his face. "Not again," he moaned.

Pidge's cat stood and stretched laboriously before hopping down and coming to investigate the spill. Lance stared down at her and asked, "So do you know where she went this time?"

Predictably, Artemis only meowed. She was probably hungry.

Lance sighed and pulled his phone from his pocket. The captain would not be happy with him, and he dreaded telling her. Unless he could find Pidge first.

Season 2 turned me from a casual Voltron fan into a complete Sheith disaster. The first two steps after that were:

1. Start a Shiro appreciation blog (and spend hours upon hours digging through and queueing up the gorgeous fanart) 2. Work through the AO3 tag and compile a list to rec to others who’re new or who need some extra motivation to fall into this fandom

A/N: this was going somewhere else originally, and then it got derailed and ended up in a snowbank, much like shiro’s car. also i’m fake af and don’t actually know anything about snow, much less driving in it, but whatever y’know

It’s not a big deal, really.  He’s not dying of hypothermia or anything, and he’s a button’s press away from calling for a tow truck when Keith arrives instead, his red truck like something out of a holiday fever dream.  It’s still decked out like a reindeer, thanks to Pidge and Hunk’s shenanigans from last night.

“Shiro!” A car door slams, and Keith runs toward him through the snow.  Or—waddles is probably more accurate, given the way the slush sticks to his boots, dragging at each step.  It’s ungainly but endearing, though Shiro keeps this to himself as Keith finally makes it to his side, cheeks ruddy from the cold.  “What happened?”

“Patch of ice.  Skidded.  Poof.”  Shiro pantomimes the flurry of white from entering the snowbank.  He doesn’t know why he’s talking like this.  Normally conversation comes easy, but somehow the sight of Keith in a puffy parka has reduced him to processing things in short bursts, like—eyelashes. Dark. Hair. And then there’s the messy business of—“Did you, uh, get home okay last night?”

Keith eyes him warily.  “Yeah.  You?”

“I knocked out on Lance’s couch, actually.”  Shiro hesitates, wondering if he should bring up his exchange with Lance in the morning.  Oh, you’re still here? A smirk, shot over the rim of his coffee mug.  I thought Keith would have taken you home.

There had been an implication there, but Shiro’s head had still been too muddled to unwrap it.  What had Lance put in that eggnog?
