Probably a niche political interest, but every election I watch the polls to see if Idaho votes to redraw their third congressional district which only covers the Amigara Township and a few small farming communities.

you know what? I get that enigma at amigara fault is a pretty clear allegory for how our attempts to live up to people's increasingly strict social expectations of us only mangles us into something more and more unrecognizable from the person we used to be. I feel that. but also? if a cliffside riddled with human-shaped holes opened up following an earthquake I simply wouldn't go there. rip to those people but I'm different

Extrapolation suggests that exists a hypothetical 11th panel to this image where the salmon looks like it had to swim through Amigara Fault to get to the spawning grounds

Yeah, uh, we showed your boyfriend a series of human shaped holes. Yeah he, uh, found one made exactly for him. He did go in the hole. It goes all the way through the other side but it, uh, it slowly distorts shape as he goes through, so that it physically reforms his bones. Yeah, he's gonna come out the other side a little squiggly guy. Sorry

The Enigma of Amigara Fault

This short story by Junji Ito is about a fault that appears in Amigara mountain after an earthquake. The earthquake exposes countless human-shaped holes in the mountain which seem to have been made about a thousand years ago. People, intrigued by these  silhouettes, gather at the site and that’s when things get creepy.
