first time trying to make a real comic style to depict AU lore, here’s some of Amber’s background!

due to Twi’s more anxious and protective nature in my AU, that attitude bled into her parenting style. As a little kid, Amber snuck out a few times under the disguise of other ponies around town (mostly pegasi so she could practice flying around, since she didn’t have wings in her main form). The last time, Twilight found out about it and scolded her with a harsh reminder of the reality of their situation. Although, she did try to raise Amber more socially when she got older, you know, trying to enforce the power of friendship and all, but the psychological damage had been already done, and Amber grew up having a permanently tainted image of herself and those around her due to that fear of hostility ingrained from a young age.

Day 28 - Sparkle

"Hey," I say, fishing my amethyst out of my bra. (Very happy to have it back outside of my digestive tract. Sweet Circe, that was an unpleasant task.) "Let me see that bite."

I definitely wanted to draw Penny's gem for this prompt. Specifically when she was carrying it loose.

Quick aside: I love this pen, but I have only a little bit of sparkly purple ink left. Not enough to trust it to make it through a whole drawing, but too much to wash it out and put in a new colour. But, at last! I get to let it shine!

i was losing my mind studying and needed a break and i remembered monnie, my good friend monnie, one time talked about how she reccs sketching with a pen b/c you cant fix your mistakes easily and it makes it easier ta just sketch and not worry abt if something turns out fucked up and i said, "yeah okay monnie is like one of the greatest artists i know ill do that"
