Designing my friend a Golden Kamuy Skateboard deck! Only have the sketch half way done so this is all i got at the moment.

I’m working with Newfields’ horticulture department (also known as The IMA/The Indianapolis Museum of Art) to design some graphics of native Hoosier plants in their pollinator garden. The yellow flower is the American Senna and the pink one is the Eastern Red Columbine.

with all the recent news surrounding checo's performance clause with rbr, it got me wondering about Daniel's deal with McLaren. Did he also receive a similar contract clause from that team? like Ik that he was dropped without his prior knowledge but was he given options beforehand??

Daniel in fact had no such performance clause in his McLaren contract. He had an option to extend for 2023 that only he could trigger, which meant McLaren couldn't unilaterally decide to not extend him for 2023.

This was why Zak Brown went on his media tour criticising him and playing musical chair with his seat until he signed Piastri behind Daniel's back. They wanted Daniel to trigger that exit clause on his own so they wouldn't have to pay him out. In the end, Daniel left $18mil richer

Omg yeah well I should preface this by saying I’m not a doctor I’m a food scientist for gatorade (they don’t employ me or know who I am). But it’s just a simple blend of raspberry leaf & wineberry leaf (virtually the same, wine berries are closely related lol and I only add them bc they grow all over my yard and I like to put fresh leaves in), red clover, and motherwort. But because I’m super willy nilly and only drink teas that taste good I also added lemongrass lemon balm and chicory for flavor. But I super highly recommend even just raspberry leaf from your co-op, it’s that wonderful combination of good for you and really yummy (see also: tulsi). This tea doesn’t even need extras for flavor bc the raspberry and wineberry and clover are so nice.

Also another disclaimer is that a lot of people touting this shit are like scarily trad sometimes so like also see your doctor and whatnot and not pictured in the teas are the multiple Tylenols and ibuprofens I also take even though I know how to make a perfectly good willow bark tincture lol. And third disclaimer even a cursory google search is a good idea before heavy use of any herbal medicinals bc some like ashwagandha or whatever can build up their effects over time or mess with your meds and stuff but everything I’ve put here is super safe just research before you go too crazy :-)

I read your fanfic with Senna reader and I want to criticize you, as someone who is Brazilian: making her say a few words in Brazilian Portuguese, in a story that is mostly written in American English, is not enough to make a respectful representation of my country's culture and my people's identity. In fact, as well as being unrealistic - because nobody who is of mixed descent or knows more than one language speaks in such a way, unless they are not fluent in a language and have to communicate in it -, it only exoticizes Brazilian language and culture, which are already VERY exoticized and reduced to stereotypes, thank you.

If you're not prepared to or don't have the time to dedicate to studying a more complex representation of Brazilian culture, that's fine. But please don't exoticize it! I can assure you that it's much more respectful (and exciting) to leave everything in American English and focus on writing about the reader's connection with her father or her abstract patriotic feeling - because that's more tangible than a few words in Brazilian Portuguese.

Imagine having the audacity to criticize a fanfiction that someone spent countless hours of their own time (while in medical school, mind you) pouring their heart and soul into writing for not featuring enough words in a language the author doesn’t speak.

Imagine thinking that trying to make a few references to the Reader’s Brazilian background (in a story where she barely speaks Portuguese as is since the other main characters are French and British … and she lives in Switzerland) gives you the right to tear down someone else’s work that was only ever written with good intentions.

Should no one ever be able to write Charles speaking a few words in French? Or Max in Dutch? Or Carlos in Spanish?

If you can’t handle this, maybe reading fanfiction isn’t right for you 😊 If you’re not prepared to scroll past and keep your mouth shut if you don’t like something, that’s fine. But please don’t be an asshole about it!

Does this come off as a bitchy response? Maybe, but to be frank, I don’t care. I have no idea how some people are on such a high horse that they not only type something like that out but send it to an author anonymously. Imagine being that entitled.

On Senna and the grooming allegations.

Half Brazilian here too! Although I have never been to Brazil, I am from another Latin American country. I find that many foreigners don't understand the Latin American context, especially in the 70s/80s.

It took a lot of courage to touch on this controversial topic. Please read at your own risk.

Our countries, to this day, are considered emerging zones. Poverty, violence, crisis and political instability are something we have had to learn to live with.

Sadly, age was not taken into account as much as convenience and economic security. Families, especially wealthy ones, sought to ensure economic well-being rather than healthy and happy relationships. Marriage is an agreement to protect the spouses, ignoring whether they were mentally or physically prepared for what it meant. These are practices that still continue to this day in some parts, therefore, the perception of moral standards was extremely different; this is told to you by someone whose grandmother married a man in his twenties at 14.

Was that wrong? Of course it was, many things were wrong at that time.

When Ayrton Senna mentioned in that interview for Playboy that he lost his virginity at 13 when his cousin took him to an adult prostitute (and as this was already considered late for his culture) it doesn't seem to have raised many outraged voices, not even to this day, which honestly worries me. Adriane Yamin was already 18 (legal age of consent in many countries) when she had intimacy with Senna, as told by herself. Senna was only 13, THIRTEEN, not even the age of consent in Brazil, which is 14. I don't think you understand how much this shit marks you, how much it traumatizes and affects your life.

The truth is, Senna's family was extremely controlling, and they needed to approve (choose) their girlfriends. Ayrton's marriage to Lilian was basically an arranged marriage. The same happened with Adriane Yamin, whose relationship was cultivated and strictly controlled by both families. An engagement was arranged for 1989, but Senna broke it off. He did not want to get married.

Perhaps this is, at least in part, the reason why this man was so keen to have control in his life as a public figure and as a driver, he wanted everything to go his way. It does not seem that many things in his early life were his decision, but it seems that deciding to return to England after announcing his retirement as a racing driver in 1981 was the incentive he needed. Well, here I am already falling into the territory of speculation, but I think I have made my point.

Say whatever about Ayton Senna, hate him or love him, the man is no longer with us to defend himself or speak for himself. However, I believe that judging him under current social values, ignoring the cultural and historical context in which he lived is unfair. It is unfair to all the people of Brazil and to the rest of Latin America. We're striving to change for the better.

I think my all time favorite has to be Ayrton Senna for his presence and impact alone. He was the best at driving in the rain.

I like his documentary, his rivalry with Alain, his work in the GPDA, and pretty much everyone around him had so much reverence for him (I’ve been reading Adrian Newey’s How to Build a Car, and he talks about Senna personally up until his death.)

(I also got to see his Williams and Camel cars!)

As for current F1, It’s LOGAN SARGEANT 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸💥🦅🦅🦅

IDK He’s very underrated for some reason! He’s being replaced by Carlos next season which makes me very sad, but I’ll probably keep following his career if he moves to Indycar.

He’s spoken a lot about how he feels ostracized due to being the only American on the grid, and tbh there’s as much of an untold story behind his career as any legendary driver. He’s also very sweet and kind of awkward! His chemistry with Alex is great too, they really make the most of the poor Williams car.

I also quite like Max and Nico Rosberg. Max because he’s funny and talented (and likes cats) and Nico partially because of his rivalry with Lewis and because I watch his Youtube videos 😞 to understand the races better 😞 Also he’s a polyglot! And I love learning languages.

Ollie Bearman will be completing junior FP1 session for Haas in Imola

Ferrari tested new anti-spray wheel covers during their filming day in Fiorano (they look horrendous) - as well as the new upgrade package they will introduce in Imola
