going on anon in the community to have a gigachad opinion is my hobby but like yeah i simply think also, people should look at characters for their story value. not all characters in a story are going to be likeable to everyone but that doesn't mean they aren't absolutely vital to it. to change moon kills the story. rainworld works because it's so layered, has so many themes, is so tragic. iterators are intentionally flawed in how they think. insert that discussion those users, forget who, had awhile back abt ALL iterators very clearly demonstrating poor eq. moon has a lot of the same flaws as the other iterators and i feel like it's definitely unfair that she gets critiqued so harshly for having flawed logic in her situation when literally every character (dp wise, i cant speak for vanilla atm) had flawed logic. the only real explanation for disliking moon and not the other iterators for that reasoning is misogyny and i think you've been pointing that out pretty dead on. most of the time i feel quite neutral to the iterators as i like them all but even then, even if i ever do forget why moon is likeable as a character, i still appreciate that she is part of the story simply because she is objectively a necessary component to it. not sure i'm putting words together well here now but it's whatever

girl literally tells you little stories and is nice to you if you're not a jerk. i can't comprehend how anyone would hate her without exhibiting flawed thinking themself lol. arguments against her fall apart like sand they just aren't defensible. everyone is entitled to an opinion, if they just dont vibe with her sure whatever, but being so drastic as to hate her and act like she's not a valuable character with important themes and ideas is weird to me too

[nods sagely] i completely agree. like the iterators, despite looking/seeming like untouchable gods, are no better than we are at the end of the day. they’re emotional, they care too much, they make rash decisions. they fuck up despite a lot of the times thinking they’re doing the right thing…much like all of us. that’s what i think rain world is really trying to drive home: the gods that tower over you, the scavengers that seem erratic and irrational, the slugcats, YOU, are all the same. you are all trying to survive, to understand your purpose in the world. monk and survivor are a parallel to pebbles’ and moon’s story. like, the game makes that pretty clear. it all comes full circle, doesn’t it?

at the end of the day all the iterators were doomed from the start. even if moon had “done everything right” (could anything even qualify as right??) she still would have collapsed. so too with pebbles. its not like they can do much being, ahem, “locked up in a box”, with miles and miles between one another. the damage had been done already. judging their reactions to such an unprecedented situation, filled with emotion and desperation and fear and sheer hopelessness, you probably wouldn’t have reacted in the most flawless way either. the iterators aren’t pure, rational machines! and that’s what makes the game GOOD!!!!

…not to mention, if they did nothing to the game aside from flip pebbles’ gender, you KNOOOWWWW the fandom would HATE his guts rather than being like 🥺 omg my poor littol emo baby 🥺 and like idk. call him a selfish bitch or whatever

Personally I’d choose L from Death Note. I’d be going above and beyond, traveling out of town and having security cameras, alarms, thinking I’d be safe only to wake up at the dead of night to this sleep deprived detective looming over me with all my security measures down being like “You really think I’m that easy to lose? I’m almost offended”

God yes, it would seem almost too easy at first, just cut some ties, lose some social media, change addresses and last names and just head out.

But to Him? It’s an irritatingly easy game of cat and mouse. You think he wouldn’t scan every camera of every business of every street to see if he finds you? Think he wouldn’t track some personal items to keep you nice and safe?

He simply lets this play until he decides enough is enough.

It would be so funny if the one dish that Dottore could cook only healed reader. What it does to other playable characters is...questionable, to say the least. It always turns into his signature dish, possibly a small dessert (for the sake of the drabble below + I could imagine reader teaching Dottore to make some cookies), so imagine:

"Affection": Dottore's signature dish. It's a simple plate of cookies, nothing more and nothing less. While you're a bit skeptical of the slightly charred edges, [Name] looks proud of their lover's work, and the piercing red gaze of the Doctor convinces you to try at least one...

...you end up choking immediately. Before you can question what Dottore put in those cookies, [Name] tries one for themselves, muttering something about how they were just fine and that you were being mean. Perhaps it was for the best that you let [Name] devour his cooking, for everyone else's sake.

The cookies would look really amateurish, especially compared to what [Name] can make, there's not even a glass of milk with it, not to mention how he had to throw out a few because the bottom was burnt to oblivion... Also, it seems that there are way more chocolate chips in them than there should be...? But that doesn't matter, [Name] reassures you! They love these cookies and have tried them many times! Looks are just deceiving!

The contrast between [Name]'s bright, hopeful expression and Dottore's less-than-amiable one is enough to convince (force?) you into taking a bite of a mysterious cookie. Unfortunately, it does not live up to [Name]'s hype. Far, far, from it... Thankfully, your will to live another day overcomes the sensation of nearly succumbing to the cookie.

Meanwhile, [Name] snatches the plate from you and huffs as they bite into another cookie with no hesitation, then kisses the Harbinger on the cheek, complimenting him on how far he's come on his cooking journey. Perhaps [Name] can only taste the sweet love from their beloved imbued within these cookies rather than the actual taste.

They seem to be a couple that you should stay away from...

I feel like atp I barely care for the canon cartoon at all, I just have a very strong fixation on Flug. I should really mention that. I have given up trying to stay in-character and basically use him like my OC. I would LIKE to move on and not be in fandom spaces anymore but sadly my autism does not let me. my brain just refuses; kicking and screaming; to be interested in a single other thing on earth than Flug since nearly 8 years.

The thing that stands out to me about Jax and Ragatha's interaction is that Jax did not seem surprised to hear Ragatha admit to hating him.

Considering his... *gestures to Jax entirely* everything, I guess he wouldn't be surprised to hear that everyone does hate him, even if it's secretly like Ragatha does.

Oh, I'm sure Jax knows. Zooble would absolutely tell it to his face, stupid sauce or not, and I wouldn't be surprised if Gangle has made a few jittery "you're so horrible" comments when he's bullying her. The only ones who don't active hate him are probably Caine (he likes everybody) and maybe Pomni (she's too new and he's not really targeted her specifically for much; she considers him an asshole, but I think it's a stretch to say hate rn)

Ragatha's too nice to say it when she's not looped out of her mind but she DOES spend most of her free time yelling at him bc he's Always Fucking Around so he gets the jidst.

ik hopes very hard that this is a fluke. it is not a fluke. morningstar is at her house AGAIN barely a week later and this time it's while she's at home, so she has to pretend to be very surprised and mildly starstruck when she walks into the kitchen and sees the guy she saved the city with barely a day ago. her dad explains that he's a very nice hero who's just checking up in the aftermath of stopping a dude robbing their house. ik is not fooled because morningstar has brought fucking FLOWERS and he is being about as subtle as a boulder rolling down a hill

from lucifer's pov, however, zhao's daughter clearly is suspicious of/dislikes him to some degree. understandable, she's at that anti-establishment age, and he is a government mandated hero. still, he'd like to get along with the kid for.... wherever it is this is going, and she seems to be about the same age as the vigilante he works with, so....

this results in lucifer offhandedly asking ik-as-spiderkid for advice in getting along with herself, and ik doesn't know whether to be amused by mr normally-aloof-and-prideful stooping to this level, or absolutely horrified by this entire situation

I think, with Kwahu's recent delving into the Staticlord psycast tree from 'Vanilla Psycasts Expanded', the Jones boys would make for excellent sorcerers of the Storm Sorcery subclass, though they'd have trouble with the charisma side of things, I suppose. Perhaps they'd make for better knowledge-domain clerics of Oghma, or monks.

I do think the sorcerer outfit looks best on them, though.

oh also I guess enough time has passed but I think vader burning obi-wan was such a genius move, story-wise. like it's so on-brand for his character, especially since he's so angry and he wanted obi-wan to feel exactly how he felt on mustafar. i feel like it's very obvious that he was thinking about doing that to obi-wan for a long time.

I think in my eyes going back and watching the prequels and even TCW with this knowledge really shifts things for me, especially with obi-wan and anakin's relationship. not necessarily in a bad way, I love their dynamic and I still do. but more in a way of "wow, give it a few years and these two are going to just. damage each other completely and the way that anakin will come to hate obi-wan in the future makes me so sad about how they are now"

and I guess before kenobi dropped we knew that vader hated obi-wan. like obviously he says it to him at the end of ROTS and the way he constantly talked about finding obi-wan afterwards made it very clear.

but in the kenobi series, we finally get to see him act on that hate. and it tells us just how much he hates him. (spoiler: a lot).

anyways, I still haven't gotten around to rewatching the prequels since kenobi dropped last year (though I did rewatch ROTS last summer), but having rewatched some TCW episodes recently, it just hurts in a different way to see obi-wan and anakin being...obi-wan and anakin, you know? like the fact that they both care about each other so much but also just knowing just how much damage they're going to do to each other...

Ive seen it around but I haven’t read it yet. I thought I saw the top!Alastor and bottom!Lucifer tag on it a while, which is probs why I haven’t read it, but I checked the fic recently and I didn’t see those tags so idk maybe I’ll give it a look. I’ve seen a lot of fan art of it going around 👀 it looks interesting.

It had been an impossibly long time since you had to deal with your illness, but over time, there were times Dottore was able to stabilize your condition enough to allow you to enjoy normal things more easily. One such thing was leaving the lab to enjoy the beauty of Snezhnaya. Very simple, but so fun for you, who had been deprived of such things for so long. It had taken a long time for Dottore to be convinced to let you go, still cautious about your health, (now that was an understatement) but in the end, you won (of course). Always, there was a segment or one of your friends accompanying you though. But this time, Bina couldn't come to pick you up, and it seemed like all the segments were too busy to even bother - wrapped up in the middle of an experiment or meeting... well, this was an issue. You really wanted to go! You had plans! Well, maybe if you return quick enough they wouldn't notice? If they did... that's it, you'd just tell Zandy to tell them the situation. And you'd take lots of Fatui agents, yes, everything would be okay.

And it was great! You made it and had lots of fun by yourself and with Bina... exploring the frosty nation and picking up a few specific ingredients you wanted for some recipes. Very fun. Unfortunately for the group of blue-haired scholars back at the lab, nothing was okay. One worried segment had turned into two into three into all of them who were currently flipping the lab over to discover where you could have gone. For themselves and also before Prime terminates one of them for not watching you properly. (Zandy had fallen asleep for a nap before he could convey your words.) All while you were none the wiser.

After very much scoping out every inch of the huge lab and discovering you are actually gone, for once they manage to work together flawlessly and it takes them no time to start investigating and discovering your exact coordinates. You may have succeeded in escaping their radar for a little bit but, you can't underestimate their tracking skills.

When you're entering the carriage to go back home and the original Dottore is there inside waiting for you, you nearly lose your footing. Needless to say, you have a lot of explaining to do...

You can tell he isn't exactly angry at you, just a bit annoyed but out of worry for you. Yes, he can understand why you did it, but you still need to be more cautious than that! What if your condition acted up and no one could help properly? The long lecture from him and mostly the older segments is thoroughly embedded in your brain, and although you feel bad, you can't help but think it's cute, how much your crazy lovers care for you this much.
