While he will readily admit that he is sleep-deprived (having a four-month-old at home will do that to you), Rhysand does not think lack of sleep causes one to start seeing things. Maybe he's just feeling sentimental, with his own family so newly-expanded, and that's why he could swear he's seen Amaya several times over the course of the afternoon he's spent running errands in Velaris. He shakes his head to remind himself that this is impossible. Amaya is dead. Has been for centuries. He's just.... tired. That has to be it.

And yet, when he steps out of the next shop and sees the female again, he cannot help but stop and stare. Because this time, she's standing in the middle of the crowded street, looking directly at him. It takes a few seconds for him to realize that she has noticed his staring. When he does, his expression shifts from confused to apologetic. Vanishing the bundle of newly-purchased baby clothes in his hands into a pocket realm, he takes a few tentative steps towards the female, his hands held up in a gesture of apology. "My apologies, lady, for staring. You... look like someone I used to know," he says. "Are you looking for something? I will happily point you in the right direction."

Elsa had spent her entire life believing that there was no one else like her.

No one else in Arendelle possessed magic—not even her own family—and none of the history books she'd studied cover to cover mentioned magic in any other parts of the world. She was eternally grateful for her people's acceptance, of course, but even though they'd accepted her, she'd convinced herself to accept that she would always be...different. No one else would ever truly understand.

Thus, one could imagine her excitement upon learning about the magical, wish-granting king currently ruling the far-off city of Rosas. It felt wrong to leave Arendelle behind so soon after everything—she'd only just gained her people's trust; would she lose it again if she left?—but Anna had insisted. And, in truth, Elsa hadn't taken much convincing. She'd been cooped up in the castle for ages; getting to see another part of the world was a dream come true.

The voyage had been torn between worry for her sister back home and speculation as to what she would find when she arrived. Whatever may come—whatever powers King Magnifico possessed—Elsa tried to take comfort in her own certainty. She had to meet him. She had to know.

That giddiness swelled anew as her ship finally pulled into the island's harbor. Waiting to dock bordered on torturous, but Elsa forced herself to maintain propriety with a bit of mental scolding. The last thing she wanted was to make a poor first impression.

When she disembarked onto Rosas' shore at last, there was no taming the grin lighting up her face. She met King Magnifico at the end of the dock and dipped into a formal curtsy.

"Your Majesty," she greeted the other royal. "It's an honor to be welcomed to your beautiful kingdom. Thank you for having me."

Amaya was at first on the Wait List, before a spot opened at Rainbow High and she was admitted. Late to the first project, and entering a grieving team, she struggled to find her place. Particularly as a second fashion focus in the group. But with some hard work, she found her place and helped the team pass their first project.

Watching the emotions cross her husband's face was like watching the tides: roiling as they crashed into shores of Rosas, then calm as they receded. Amaya was all too familiar with his temper (and his penchant for devolving into childishness and dramatics when things didn't go his way). Before, she'd known how to soothe those sparks before they ignited.

But this...?

This felt different. Dangerous, like tumultuous waters even she had never before charted. Amaya didn't know who she was speaking to anymore. How could she break through the shroud clouding his judgement when it came from that wretched book and all of its wickedness?

Amaya hated that she didn't know. For the first time in decades, she had no idea what to do or say to him to make things right.

All she could do was keep trying. She always would, for him.

There was an edge to Magnifico's voice when he spoke again: more subtle than before, but reminiscent enough of the book's insanity to send a shiver down her spine. Yet the sentiment was kind...at least on the surface. It sounded like the real him; the one who had always cared for her above most anything. But the queen's eyes had been opened. She couldn't help but read between the lines—she couldn't help but doubt.

Not just him. She doubted her own heart, her own thoughts, her own judgement. Decades of responsibility to their citizens surged to the forefront, even when those obligations tried to make her shove her own pain into a prison deep inside.

This was for him.

Amaya repeated that mantra over and over, harnessing it as reinforcement for her wavering foundations. If it was for him, she could remain strong through any pain or struggle...even this.

The queen needed that strength when Magnifico raised a hand to the glass. She was helpless to the way her eyes traced its shape. Would she be able to tell if it were truly him if only she could feel him? Would his touch still hold the same tenderness that he'd always had for her? Would her heart know—beyond a shadow of these horrible, gut-wrenching doubts—if he was truly her Matteo?

"But you can't." The words fell heavily to the stone floor. Solemn. Resigned. "I wouldn't want you to. Not unless you could take it all back." Amaya wouldn't be placated. This was so much bigger than the two of them; too much had happened for her to be soft now.

"I always thought we would stand together against any threats that came our way." The road had never been easy. Surviving Primevère, rebuilding in the aftermath, establishing a foothold for Rosas and making peace with a skeptical world... "We've faced so many trials, standing side by side."

Now the glass between them felt like miles. Whatever parts of him may be back...he'd never been farther away. Her next exhale trembled as she ducked her chin. She couldn't bear to look at the shimmer of the mirror in the dancing firelight. "Did all of that mean nothing to you?"

A push and a pull continued at a maddening rhythm here: not so much between the king and queen of Rosas, but there inside the former, like the relentless tide of the sea washing footprints—washing progress—off its sandy shores. One moment, he was picking apart those foggy, bewildering memories with the precision he’d harnessed over magic: difficult, but manageable (and doubtless worth the effort in the end). The next, a fresh flare burst in his chest, rained in hellfire down his ribcage—anger, frustration, all manner of resentful emotions for where he was now . . .

For what they’d done to him. What his people had done to push him this far.

—and all feeble recollections of precisely what “this far” meant crumbled through his fingers as they formed fists. 

Magnifico tried again—he always would for her—and breathed in and out deeply, fully, enough to potentially extinguish those embers newly alight within him. He hadn’t taken the time to imagine it would only feed the flames. And when Amaya answered his question with hardly a real response (indeed, the woman danced around it with finesse that just as much gave him that answer he didn’t need to hear), something reminiscent of a hiss pierced through his teeth. Part of him wanted to shout. Part of him wanted to quip on a voice as venomous as hers: Yes, we’ve been over that. I’m talking about you, not them! 

Was he supposed to care about an entire kingdom who’d turned their backs on their king . . . ? Is that what she’s saying—? He’d only become a “threat” because they—

. . .

This wasn’t about them. Right now, he only cared about her.

A new tremor of exertion coursed through him, and Magnifico bit his tongue while he allowed Amaya the chance to speak. It seemed . . . more difficult to hear her suddenly; all at once, it was as though the barrier this prison erected between them had become thicker—as if Amaya spoke to him through layers upon layers of ice. The thought itself did enough to turn that tremor into a shiver. So, naturally, Magnifico finally met her gaze. She was the warmest thing he could think of, even when so desperately buried beneath pain and betrayal.

Nothing could get through to you, she said.

And yet . . . Magnifico almost, almost wanted to laugh.

Isn’t that exactly what you’re doing right now . . . ?

Push. Pull.

That fresh flare of fury was already dwindling again.

“Truthfully, Amaya”—he replied to her on a breezy lilt, that near-manic urge to laugh in spite of himself (or the situation, perhaps) tickling the edges of his words—“I’d love nothing more than to provide you with a confident answer to that, but.” A shrug rolled through his shoulders, and his next breath fluttered out of him with inklings of resignation. “All I can say in confidence . . . ?” And here, Magnifico inched closer, fingers gliding uselessly over the mirror’s glass. “I’m enough of myself now to despise what led me to hurt you.”

His brow furrowed, and though a lick of fragility tugged on his legs, he held firm to face her. “And I’d go back and change that in a heartbeat if I could.”

Partially inspired by this post ^^

Like a lot of people, I was disapointed by Disney's "Wish", even more as I read more and more about what it could have been. So I try and comfort myself with my own version, partly inspired by @annymation's fanfic "Kingdom of Wishes".

In "Kingdom of Wishes" Asha's wish is to make other people happy and becoming a great artist. And even though I like this take, I'd like Asha to be a symbolic representation of people inspired by Disney productions into becoming artists (writers, filmmakers, ect) themselves. Hence why I would like her to be a storyteller with her drawings. And of course, she'd have her cute little romance with Najm (my starboy). And Valentino would be a cute baby goat actually helping Asha and being an actual funny emotional support for her, instead of being useless and unfunny.

@annymation had the excellent idea of making her starboy a 2D character evolving in a 3D world and being able to hide themselves has a 3D character with a off-animation, kinda like Hobie in "Across the Spider-verse". And while helping Asha, he'd became more and more engrossed by humanity up to wishing he'd be human himself. I find almost nothing to add, except that I wanted Najm to be a shapeshifter so here it is !

In "Kingdom of Wishes" Magnifico is the latest of a long line of magician royalty protecting Rosas and the Wishes and he poisoned his brother with the complicity of his evil wife Amaya. It's a great idea and all, but I wanted to stay simple and distinct enough so I got rid of the fratricide part and just made him the rotten apple of what was a rather decent batch. Other than that, they would be just like @annymation made them be.

🎶Wish Away- the villains song

Magnifico and Amaya's villain duet for my Wish rewrite

So... I was in a silly goofy mood, searching for inspiration to make the Magnifico and Amaya's villain duet for my rewrite.

And what do you know, I came across a deleted song from EQUESTRIA GIRLS 3, YEAH, EQUESTRIA GIRLS, and that inspired me the most... Like, I found exactly what I was looking for, and adapted the song to fit my vision.

The song that inspired me was "Free the Magic (Demo)" and it has the exact kind of tempo and style I think are fitting for two manipulative monarchs, very sophisticated and classy but also hiding a lot of malice.

I may or may not change the lyrics as time goes on, but so far here's what I got:

So first things first, here’s the deleted Equestria Girls song that inspired me. Give it a listen first or while you read the lyrics so you can get a feel for the rhythm and feel of the song. Although in my version the very last verse would play differently, sounding a lot more intense.

If this was a Disney song tho it would obviously have more instruments than just a piano, which could really elevate it, I imagine there could be different kinds of instruments depending on who's singing.

Also, so you can better picture the scenery. Magnifico and Amaya are trying to convince Asha to give away her wish instead of just working hard to get it by herself.

They take her to that room we saw during “This Is The Thanks I Get” in the movie, with the miniature model of the kingdom and the lil dolls.

The dolls will serve as the backup singers, as Magnifico uses his magic to give them life.

The rooms is mostly dark, and the king and queen start out very gentle with Asha but their demeanor becomes more aggressive as the song progresses.

amaya and mental health

the longer i write amaya, the more some recurring themes about her mental health show up in my writing and I’ve been meaning to finally sit down and write some of those thoughts out. canonically, she does struggle with self esteem issues and chronic depression and it’s something i think is really important to her portrayal that i will thread it through her other au’s too.

throughout amaya’s childhood, it is very clear she is the “spare” to rhys. that’s not to say she wasn’t loved, just that the way she was treated and the role she was expected to have in the family was very different from her brother. i hc that her father specifically is a complex character in her narrative in his paranoia and his expectations of the children. he is extremely paranoid of enemies of his court both outside and from within. stemming from that, amaya is kept on a very short leash for her “protection.” she is not allowed to venture very far and she is isolated from anyone close to her age or others that could possibly provide a support system for the struggles she begins to have in her teenage years. with rhys away in illryria and no close friends in the court, amaya is alone and learns very early on to start to mask what she feels.

this is where i take a lot of inspiration from m.axton h.all. there is no expectation that she will be chosen by the court’s magic to rule, so she is often sidelined. her opinion is seen as amusing but nothing more. rhys bears the heavy weight of his father’s expectations and even his father’s paranoia of a coup as rhys starts to grow in power, but amaya is never seen as a threat and is more often left on her own (ignored isn’t really the right word for it but she is not invited into important conversations and doesn’t have a place in the court outside of her title of princess). amaya starts to think of herself as unimportant and replaceable. she can see no discernible role for herself at court and is not given the space to find a purpose outside of the house of wind. she is aimless and her idea of self-worth starts to fracture. the first signs of her depressive episodes begin to show themselves around this time. she grows quieter, she is more tired than she used to be, and she starts to have days where she withdraws to hide the growing melancholy she has. as we see in feyre’s story, there is no therapy or medication in prythian to help with mental health struggles and so amaya does not have those resources either.

these feelings only worsen when she arrives in midgard. she has lost her home, her family, and her wings; she is forced to do terrible things for morven to survive. her depressive episodes become more frequent and last longer than before, but it’s really einar’s abuse that sends her down in a spiral. the spousal abuse she survives feeds into the fire that consumes her idea of self worth. there are entire weeks she struggles to get out of bed, but she smiles and plays the good wife for her son if no one else. she also suffered from postpartum depression that was compounded with einar taking ruhn away from her shortly after his birth. despite midgard having more resources in prythian to help mental health disorders, amaya does not use any of them because of stigma in the royal family of accepting outside help and the fact that she knows she can never discuss prythian or her marriage to anyone.

in every verse/au i have, amaya does not seek the help she need because of the stigma around these issues and continuously tries to mask/hide the immense sadness she carries. be patient with her, love her, encourage her to seek help because she is worth finding herself and getting better even if she struggles to see it. as a character, she is a study in healing and learning how to love herself despite everything she has endured.

Yes, absolutely! Its actually going to be the final song in the movie, where it closes out the story before cutting back to Asha's narration. I think it would help to make the happy ending more of tear jeker.

2. Without giving spoilers, its one of the teens that end up seeing the errors of their ways and help the group. I am keeping the mirror entrapment part in, but upgrading it. In fact, most if the Rosas citizens help defeat the royals in my rewrite.

4. This version has Asha and Star singing the first few verses together, trying to convince the rest of the teens to join them. Then in place of Dahlia saying "Get up! No, I'm not the only one that's fed up", its Gabo. The chorus parts have Star use stardust to make it look like all of Ross is joining them. Amaya's lines are sung by the traitor who ends up joining the cause. Instead of " Hoo!" "Ha!", they go " Heigh! Ho!". And a few minor changes to nonsensical lines "I was sweet, but now I'm something else". There's more, but you'll have to wait until the scene is out.

But I can say Flazino gets upset he's left out of the rebellion song at the end of it. 😂

5. He turns to a Platypus briefly when demonstrating his range of animals. Though its to make a Phineas and Ferb reference.

Star: "Yeah, I don't know how to work with this one. I mean, its a platypus. They don't do much."

The rhino.... aside from that quick shot in deleted scene I used. I'm honestly not sure if I have a way to put that form into the story. Maybe Star will changer into one when fighting some guards?

Vermax was dead, and he did not know how to go on from that. His own injuries would heal, though the maesters suspected he would always feel some of them, that the pain might not fully relent, though they did not know how long it would take. And while he was healing, he was meant to be in bed, resting. It was impossible. There was still a war being fought, and he must be ready if he was called to battle. Though he would be fighting on the ground now, and he needed to be ready to fight as soon as he was needed. Today, however, he was in too much pain for that, too tired, but he could not stare at those four walls any longer, and despite how long and arduous the process had been, he had found himself, now seated, upon the cliffs, overlooking the water, seeing Seasmoke and Syrax in flight. He was excluded from the council now, as he healed, and he resented it, a little, though he understood why his mother would do so. His mind races with the thoughts of what he is missing, how the war is progressing without his knowledge, when he hears a sound behind him, causing him to stand quickly, though he braces the stone he had been seated upon, pain shooting through his leg, his back.

"I did not know anyone else would come out here." Particularly not someone, he knew, could share in this similar grief. The dragon bond breaking by the loss was something he was finding difficult to reconcile with, and she might be the only person he knew who would understand it, though they did not know each other well. "I could return inside, if you wanted to be alone." He did not know what her grief entailed, but there was a quiet pain, in staring at the dragons in flight, knowing that his own was lost to the waves they sailed above.

2.) Why is Orion helping Asha? Did she wish on him?

They both have the same goal of taking down the royal couple, Orion mainly wants to prevent them from shooting down and capturing stars and turning them into [redacted]. Asha wants to retrieve the wishes that Magnifico has collected from the citizens of Rosas and return it back to them and help them achieve their dreams without relying on magic to make it come true.

Well, That's their main motivations at least. (unless i change my mind and change their main motivations or something-)

3.) What's her owl's name? (I saw you mention something about an owl sooooooo)

Chará. It means Joy in Greek! Asha named her that because Chará always brings her joy whenever she feels down.

5.) What does Asha think about Orion? Same with him?

They were totally not entirely trusting of each other at first. Especially Orion, with Asha being the Royal couple's ward he was waiting for the other shoe drop and for her to reveal that she was working for Magnifico the whole time and now he's gonna end up as the rest of them-

ANYWAYS-

Asha, while sort of cautious of Orion at first, definitely noticed that he acts like he's not bothered by the fact that she's the royal couple's ward but she knows that Orion always casts suspicious glances towards her whenever he thinks that she wouldn't notice.

She tries her best to not make him uncomfortable because of that, and Orion notices and secretly appreciates it.

After some misunderstandings, getting to know each other and some near death experiences they'd have some sort of ride or die relationship with each other.

6.) Does Asha have any friends, or is she alone?

She only had Chará as her friend after finding her injured and tended to her until she got better, she pleaded for Amaya to let her keep the owl and Amaya reluctantly agreed, as long as Asha takes full responsibility for the owl herself.

As the story goes on though she eventually befriends Flazino first (due to some Orion shenanigans and then Flazino almost getting kidnapped and Orion kidnaps him before he gets kidnapped) and then eventually working their way to befriending the seven teens due to Flazino being acquaintances with them.

Orion: You have been kidnapped for your own protection! Your boss is evil by the way.

7.) Does Asha know magic?

She does, but she struggles with it. Magnifico is often disappointed with her for not being able to keep up with him.

Magnifico just has a natural talent for magic and he sucks at teaching other people so she shouldn't be upset. nope she beats herself for not being better

Her strength actually lies in potionmaking, she takes after Amaya more than Maggy. she was first (and still is) Amaya's apprentice in Alchemy before she is Magnifico's student in sorcery.

But it doesn't mean she didn't learn a few magic tricks though.

8.) How do Maggy and Amaya treat Asha? Is it good? Is it bad??

Maggy isn't really fond of Asha. He took her on as his student due to Amaya's request as she wants Asha to have some experience with it. But Asha can't keep up with him in sorcery as he has a natural talent with magic and she...just doesn't. He looks down on her for it as a result.

Well, at least she's useful when it comes to castle duties like managing the palace budget and overseeing trade. (Hey idk what a princesses's job is inside a castle, do they just sit around inside or...?)

Amaya took on Asha as her little apprentice when the girl was young, she saw the kid wander inside her study and create a potion without blowing something up on the first attempt and figured she has potential and it might be good to have a little helper. Asha's mother, the royal seamstress Sakina, saw no harm in it and allowed Asha to be Amaya's helper.

And cue Asha's parents dying

So when those two died, Amaya adopted Asha as the child had no other relatives, at least from what Asha remembers. Asha would drown herself in her duties to force herself to forget and not think about the loss of her parents, isolating herself from the outside world.

Amaya does care for Asha, but if there comes a time that she would have to choose between Magnifico and Asha...well...

Let's just say there will be heartbreak.

9.) Stupid and random ass question, butttt how would Hiccup and Orion get along (that is, if you like the movies/show). If you dunno, then how would he get along with Nimona or Jack Frost?

Orion being amazed with his sword Inferno, and suggests that he should also get himself a long ranged weapon too, like a crossbow with fire arrows! >:D

(Oh boy once he find out that Hiccup has a shield that can turn into a crossbow he's gonna beg Hiccup to make him one)

It pains me to say that i haven't watched Nimona...YET. But Orion would probably have a shapeshifting battle with them or something

She's mostly an Alchemist, maybe she knows some magic too but she's not as good as Magnifico. She does know how to use a blade though :D

13.) Why does Mag take wishes? Is Amaya on his side?

Yep he still does, When he became king, he made a rule that when they come of age, every citizen of Rosas must give their wish to him if they want to live there. His reasons is that its to prevent the tragedy that happened to his father, the previous king and his brother, Prince Philip that involved a Star and a wish, it was said that the Star took the prince's life to consume his wish to become more powerful and the previous king died protecting the prince.

He actually uses Wishes to trick stars to coming into Rosas.

You see in my au, whenever someone on earth makes a wish, when a star hears it, it's like LITERAL MUSIC to their ears (that is, if they even have ears but you get the point). And there's a difference between a real person making a wish and Magnifico using a wish to trick stars. Fake wishes by Magnifico sounds a bit distorted and it's like there's some off keys about it, like hitting a wrong note when playing music on a piano. Younger stars are more prone to being tricked due to not being able the difference due to inexperience.

So Magnifico uses the wishes to trick stars to think that someone in Rosas is having a disney princess "i wish" moment and they go down there to assist the wishmaker in pursuing their wish.

But unfortunately for Maggy, a meddling star always intervenes whenever a star does get tricked and comes down to Rosas. The star that gets tricked gets dragged back to space by the meddling star and gets lectured for not listening to warnings. Magnifico also ends up getting burned and some of his belongings on fire because of this guy.

Yes Amaya is in on it, they're partners in crime :)

14.) Ahh I see what you did there, but imma ask it anyway: Is Charo (if it is their name) a lynx or just a house cat? Do him and Asha's owl get along, or does Charo just want to eat him?

Just an Aegean cat, though don't underestimate the little guy, Charo has probably clawed out a man's eyeball at some point.

Charo and Chará don't really like each other.

Whenever they're alone with each other they would often get into a fight. Lots of scratching and hissing and aggressive hooing.

Don't have your Starboys use magic to allow them to be able to talk, there would be lots of screaming and arguing and threats and the occasional profanity with those two. Orion is already traumatized.

15.) Oh no! Canon Asha appears in Asha's room! WHatever shall she doooo????

She'd wonder if Magnifico cloned her or something. Honestly, why is she not surprised she should've expected that he would get rid of her one day. Then she'd try to find a way to send her back where she came from.

At first i named it Shoot for the Stars, but Flicker recently pointed out that it sounds a bit too similar to their Reach for the Stars AU and it might cause confusion, but they suggested the title Shooting Stars instead. Which is a wonderful name and so it's called Shooting Stars now!

The title (whether its the old or new one) references Starboy's name having a relation to archery, how my au Magnifico literally tries to shoot down stars, how my Starboy uses the archery skill he's known for to protect the stars that Magnifico is trying to shoot down and capture.

19.) Design inspirations you got from designing Asha and Orion!

Lots of Medieval themed dresses for Asha, there was so much saved on my phone that it already has low storage D':

But i settled with a mix of these three outfits instead:

To add onto the Rose theme i gave her a Rose choker.

I also gave some Thorny vine designs that would be seen on her dress.

The idea was to give her some sort of Thorny Rose vibe. It's not just her that has a thorny vine design on her, citizens under the Royal couple's rule has a thorny vines design on their attires. Anyone who opposes or has doubts or doesn't like the royal couple does NOT have this design, it would just be normal vines with leaves on it.

To finally finish off the Thorny Rose vibe of Asha, I (Magnifico actually) gave her a crown made of thorny vines that has a rose on the middle.

Imagine this, but it's made of vines with thorns on it and a Rose on the middle.

For Orion, his outfit is a mix of Prince Florian and Prince Charming's outfit.

Here's also some fun facts about his design!

There are three diamonds in his belt, it actually references the asterism called Orion's belt found in the Constellation Orion! (It's a silly little detail that i thought would be fun to share)

His main outfit colors consists of Dark colors (Blue and Black) to symbolize how he blends in the night sky, unnoticed so no one can wish on him. And some gold colors too but it doesn't really dominate his outfit.

Used a fur collar for a "Hunter" vibe (at least that's what my notes were telling me while i was looking through his old designs idk wth past me was talking about)

His outfit should not have too many layers, as it would hinder him using his Bow whenever he's trying to shoot something. But i still wanted to give some sort of princey vibe for reasons, and so his current design was born.

He can turn his cape intangible whenever he desires so it won't hinder him whenever he's trying to aim for something. But he can't turn it intangible for long periods of time.

He has a Star brooch on the middle of his fur collar thingy, it's default look is the one on the left. But whenever he uses magic it changes to the star on the right.

20.) Do you have the Maggy and Amaya designs, or are you still exploring that?

Not yet, but i do already have ideas on what i should give them.

Maggy would have a collar like the Evil Queen, but a bit more smaller.

And with Amaya, I'm debating whether i should give her braided hair or short wavy hair

Orion would protect Asha at all cost, and he would freak out A LOT when he discovers that they have to LITERALLY DIE to finish Eden.

22.) Is Orion seen as a monster (rawr rawr rawr) by the people of Rosas? By Asha? By Magnifico? Or no??

Asha is the only human that knows Orion exists in the early parts of the story.

Rosas though is scared of another Star named Apollo, it is told that the Star killed the previous King of Rosas and his younger son, Philip. (Which is Magnifico's dad and younger brother)

Magnifico doesn't know who tf this Orion guy is. He hates this star named Apollo though.

overall thoughts on tdp??? Now that you’re done watching, which season/story-line/character (besides our iconic queen General and Aunt Amaya 👑) was your fave? Any moments throughout that you really felt or really spoke to you?

The dynamic of characters in this show is so interesting. The theme throughout the whole show is something that resonates with me because it's how I live my life. Despite what you hear about a certain group of people you should have an open mind. This is just some of my thoughts and opinions on some of the characters. There might be spoilers so read at your own risk.

I love Seasons 1-3 and if it wasn’t for the wedding preparations and scenes with Amaya. I wouldn’t have watched season 4. I felt like the whole season was complete filler. The series could’ve ended at the 3rd season and be solid. Season 4 didn’t really get my attention compared to the previous seasons. I hope the story picks up in season 5. I just need more Amaya 😭 lol

Callum starting as a kid who doesn't know where he belongs because he isn't a fighter or have anything useful to help the kingdom. He is the stepson of the king. Turns out he is a mage and he instantly knows that he wants to be a good light mage and nothing like what his former crush, Claudia is. Speaks on his character and reminds me a lot of his mom.

Ezran, such a baby doll, is quirky and awkward. Has a difficulty talking to people and has a special connection with animals. He has a kind heart and sees the good in people. He doesn't allow outside comments deter his judgement on a person. He reminds me so much of Antonio from Encanto. He is a fave for sure. He is a type of King that I would love to see in the real world.One that rules with kind and compassion instead with a drive for power or holier than thou.

Rayla being a moonshadow assassin. While Rayla claims to despise humans, on the inside she doesn't truly hate them. She doesn't see them as lesser beings than herself, unlike the rest of the elves. It causes this inner turmoil on her belief as a moon shadow assassin verses her morals. She constantly checking her morals and doing better. Willing to put her life on the line to do the right thing.

Claudia, her development was scary, I know there's some good but she continues down this dark path, that its sad. I was so hoping that she would run away with Soren. I really hope there is some way she can redeem herself in the upcoming season but I feel like she's so far down the rabbit hole that it's too deep a hole for her to come out of. The reason why I say Claudia's development is scary s because she knows she is becoming darker. Each season she is at a point where she pushes that morality further. She crosses that limit and instead of realizing ok that's enough. She knows it's bad and accepts it with no regret. Only to surpass it again the next time. There is nothing that will stop her to get what she wants.

Soren, at first I didn't care about him because he was this jerk who constantly picked on Callum, but Soren definitely grew. The first season I feel like the creators wanted us to see Soren as this idiot jock that heavily relies on his physical strength. It also didn't help that Viren and Claudia also treated him as such. As the series goes on he is so much more than that. His development throughout the series is one of the best, imo. He has this emotional intelligence that came to a surprise. He does have silly moments where he acts first but then he realizes his mistakes and changes. When Soren realized how he was manipulated by his dad. He went against his dad. This is so hard to do. He loves his dad and his sister so for him to renounce his loyalty from his family and follow the crown. Then on top of that having to go to war and the person you're fighting is your own father and sister. That hits the heart in more ways than one. His redemption arc is honestly chef's kiss. Soren is a good boi.

Amaya, my my my Amaya. She is wife. Once she appeared on the screen I had heart eyes immediately. Like I was already shopping for rings! I think I have a thing for strong stoic types who are really big softies. She's both an immovable object and an unstoppable force in battle. Amaya is thoughtful, honorable, compassionate and smart. Brutal, driven and capable. Pragmatic and adaptable. Her character design and fight choreography is stylish af. I could watch her fight it's like watching a dance. Her shield is honestly really cool and interesting design. Even though she's a tough person that flips switches so fast once she's with her nephews. She turns into this big softy that is so adorable and honestly is why I fell hard for her. She has a heart of gold and isn't afraid to jump into the line of fire to protect the people she loves. Her nephews, Gren, Janai, her soldiers, her kingdom. I could go on about Amaya.

Bait, Bait is the best. I can't get over him. He has a range of emotions and is the bestest boi. He deserves all the tarts.

I can't get over the fact that Amaya threw Bait in a perfect spiral throw. Bait is beauty. Bait is grace.

Wish Upon A Star: Plot Breakdown (Wish Rewrite Project)

It starts out practically the same as the original, except Asha is telling the origin story of Rosas to Valentino, who is her familiar, as she’s already Magnifico’s apprentice. (Asha has the rare ability to talk to animals.)

Welcome To Rosas is sung from the citizens’ POV and is generally very upbeat, with them all singing the praises of Magnifico and Amaya. It becomes a little sad towards the end, as Asha gets her own verse about how she feels like her magical powers make her an outcast and even though she has the privilege of being Magnifico’s successor, she still longs to fit in with everyone else.

Magnifico is introduced, rushing about and getting everything ready for the ceremony, with a number of well-meaning but clumsy servants providing a little comic relief.

When Amaya is introduced, along with her pet Sphinx cat (haven’t thought of a name for him yet), she’s shown to be a vain and jealous woman, envious of all the positive attention her husband receives from the kingdom. She always pretends to be innocent whenever Magnifico or Asha is around, although Valentino can sense something off about her, frequently getting into scuffles with the cat. (Haven’t figured out what sort of animal familiar Magnifico will have yet.)

Asha is incredibly excited, as this is the first time she’ll be partaking in the wish-granting ceremony. Magnifico also lets her see the wishes for the very first time, reminding her that she’ll soon be responsible for all of them.

Much like in the original, Asha and Magnifico argue about their different viewpoints on granting all of the wishes vs only granting some of them.

Asha, in an act of defiance, decides to grant a wish that Magnifico didn’t approve of at the ceremony and it predictably ends in disaster. Asha feels deeply ashamed of what she’s done and the fact that she let down her mentor and her future kingdom.

She runs away in the middle of the night, with Valentino by her side. Singing This Wish, Asha looks up at the stars, recalling the days when she was younger, when Magnifico used to tell her all sorts of wonderful stories about them and the ancient magic they hold. She basically prays for guidance, for someone to understand her and to help make amends.

In a blaze of light, a star descends from the sky. The people of Rosas are amazed and excited. Magnifico, on the other hand, is terrified of the blinding light, as it triggers a flashback to when his home was destroyed. Even in such a vulnerable state, he still worries about Asha.

Asha finds herself face to face with a handsome young man with bright eyes and glowing golden hair. They’re both fascinated by one another and when Asha asks him who he is, he explains that he’s a star. Both Asha and Star are, well, starstruck, even more so when Asha finds out that Star can understand Valentino. She thought she was the only one and as they travel through the forest, Asha feels comforted, knowing that she’s not alone.

Meanwhile, Queen Amaya is secretly delighting in all the chaos that’s been happening. She sees this as the perfect opportunity to steal the limelight from both Magnifico and Asha. She conspires to essentially poison Magnifico against his apprentice, wanting all his attention to be on her and nobody else, even though it’s already been established that Magnifico loves her deeply and hasn’t been neglecting her at all.

Amaya’s evil monologue is interrupted by Magnifico, who confides in her about how worried he is and how he feels like he’s losing control of the situation. “I can’t find an answer in any of my books!” “Well, there is one you haven’t tried…yet.” Amaya refers to the grimoire. Magnifico is horrified at the prospect of using it, but Amaya just laughs it off as a joke, pretending that she’d never consider using it. Magnifico decides to take his best knights with him to the forest to find out what’s going on and bring Asha home.

Meanwhile, in the forest. Asha and Star are learning more about one another, with Star being incredibly curious about the human world in the same way that Ariel is in The Little Mermaid. When Asha speaks so highly of Rosas, Star wants to travel to the kingdom and see it for himself, but Asha sadly explains how she messed things up at the ceremony and how she feels like she can’t go back. Star comforts her and assures her that everyone makes mistakes and the important thing is that she learned from it. They dance around the forest and sing At All Costs. Their magic combines and spreads throughout the forest, making everything beautifully vibrant and colourful and giving humans and animals the ability to understand each other.

Magnifico and his knights come across the beams of magic and are initially frightened, with Magnifico trying not to panic, but the talking animals assure him that they won’t hurt him. They can tell he’s got a lot weighing on his mind and sing I’m A Star to cheer him up. Magnifico calms down and feels safe, realising that he doesn’t need to be afraid of something he doesn’t understand.

Meanwhile, back at Rosas, trouble is stirring. Queen Amaya, after going through her villainous plan with her cat and Dahlia (who has been her long-suffering maid for most of the story) in the form of This Is The Thanks I Get?, has decided to address the people and is using the dark magic from her grimoire to corrupt the citizens, turning them against Magnifico and Asha.

Admittedly I got a bit stuck here, but essentially Magnifico is forced to return to Rosas, only to find the people up in arms and determined to dethrone him. He turns to Amaya for help and she lies to him, telling him that Asha was the cause of the anarchy, that the people never loved or trusted him. When he asks her if she does, the evil queen simply laughs in his face, breaking his heart. Magnifico tries to stand his ground, but Amaya targets all of his insecurities, including the fact that he never had his wish granted (his wish for a child). Magnifico falls into despair and Amaya has him possessed by the grimoire.

Asha, Star and Valentino return to Rosas, determined to set things right, only to be greeted with a sight of ruin and despair. Dahlia, who has managed to sneak away from Amaya, hides the trio in a secret room, where she explains what’s happening and they all resolve to save Magnifico and the citizens from Amaya, while singing Knowing What I Know Now.

Dahlia briefly mentions that the evil spell Magnifico’s trapped in can only be broken by true love. At first, all seems to be lost, but then Asha realises something; it doesn’t have to be romantics love that breaks the spell. It can be familial love, too. She basically has an epiphany, realising that not only is Magnifico the father she always needed, but that she’s also basically his daughter. In other words, his wish was granted without him even realising it. This revelation gives her and her companions a new burst of courage.

Star uses his shapeshifting abilities to confuse/distract the castle guards as the heroes try to locate Magnifico and Amaya. They are unfortunately captured and taken to the tower, where the final battle takes place.

The possessed Magnifico attacks Asha, who fends him off with Star’s help and tries to get through to him. Amaya traps Star inside the mirror-topped magic staff. Just when all seems to be lost, Asha sings a reprise of This Wish, as she explains to Magnifico that his wish was granted. Amaya’s arrogance crumbles as she sees the spell weakening. Magnifico breaks free from Amaya’s control, Star is released from the mirror and Amaya is pulled into it, vanishing forever.

The people of Rosas are freed and everyone rejoices. Magnifico and Asha reconcile, admitting they were wrong and accepting that they’ve both still got a lot to learn from one another. Asha and Star embrace, while Magnifico has a proud dad moment.

At the very end, Star is asked what he could possibly wish for and he replies that he wishes to be human. He’d rather spend a finite life with Asha than be immortal and alone. Magnifico grants Star’s wish, then passes the mantle of Wish Granter to Asha. Star and Asha kiss and Magnifico concludes the narration that opened the film, saying: “And we all lived happily, ever after.”
