surprise starter for @magnifiico! (。•̀ᴗ-)✧
Elsa had spent her entire life believing that there was no one else like her.
No one else in Arendelle possessed magic—not even her own family—and none of the history books she'd studied cover to cover mentioned magic in any other parts of the world. She was eternally grateful for her people's acceptance, of course, but even though they'd accepted her, she'd convinced herself to accept that she would always be...different. No one else would ever truly understand.
Thus, one could imagine her excitement upon learning about the magical, wish-granting king currently ruling the far-off city of Rosas. It felt wrong to leave Arendelle behind so soon after everything—she'd only just gained her people's trust; would she lose it again if she left?—but Anna had insisted. And, in truth, Elsa hadn't taken much convincing. She'd been cooped up in the castle for ages; getting to see another part of the world was a dream come true.
The voyage had been torn between worry for her sister back home and speculation as to what she would find when she arrived. Whatever may come—whatever powers King Magnifico possessed—Elsa tried to take comfort in her own certainty. She had to meet him. She had to know.
That giddiness swelled anew as her ship finally pulled into the island's harbor. Waiting to dock bordered on torturous, but Elsa forced herself to maintain propriety with a bit of mental scolding. The last thing she wanted was to make a poor first impression.
When she disembarked onto Rosas' shore at last, there was no taming the grin lighting up her face. She met King Magnifico at the end of the dock and dipped into a formal curtsy.
"Your Majesty," she greeted the other royal. "It's an honor to be welcomed to your beautiful kingdom. Thank you for having me."

@solhjerte : “ don’t bury your feelings. sadness. hurt. rage. feel it. acknowledge it so you can decide what you want to do with it. not what it will do to you. ”
A HOLLOW LAUGH DIED IN HER throat, Elsa forcing herself to swallow it down. It was an echo of the past, when her bitterness had swept over her, drowned her with claws keeping her below the surface. But now the only claws holding her were her own hands gripping herself in a tight embrace, fingernails digging into the thin material of her shirt. And Anna was by her side, her beloved little sister, who had given up so much for Elsa’s benefit.
“I don’t know how,” she whispered, voice barely a rasp. “Not without putting everyone in danger again. I can’t hurt you again.”
Her control over her powers still felt so tenuous, like they would break down her defences at any moment. Each day she pushed at those limits and found herself pleasantly surprised, but she still had not allowed herself to dive into those deeper feelings, those darker feelings. The very idea terrified her, and just brought back images of her room, wrecked and frozen over. Of two men, both on the verge of death at her hand.
“It’s all just too much,” she said at last, sinking into a chair and hanging her head. “It’s still too much. I should be stronger now, but instead I’m still just... the same.”

@tatterdhearts said:( HOLD ) ( dom & elsa ! ) x accepting
Just breath... That was what she repeated to herself like a mantra. Eyes closed, hands clenched at her side as she tried to listen. As she tried to calm down from her anxiety attack that had her hands shaking more than the cold steam that was coming off of them. She had almost forgot that she wasn’t alone until a warmth was spreading from her hand up her arm. Her skin almost hissing at his touch.
Eyes snapping open, darting towards him before looking down at where Dom was holding her hand. Tension melting away starting from where he touched her, travelling up her shoulders to her face as she finally did breath. Focusing on him now more than herself. Slowly, as if she was afraid if she moved too quickly it would break this peace that he brought her, she turned her hand over and laced her fingers with his. Looking up into his eyes again before whispering, “Thank you....”

Talking about the differences between Frozen and Frozen on Broadway
The Broadway Musical version of Frozen was always, not only a source of more Frozen content, but also a source of more detail into the Frozen universe as a whole. While is delves into a more soft canon, as it’s meant to be a mature remake of sorts, it does offer some interesting insights into the world and gives more detail about the character’s motivations.
Here, after I *finally* had the chance to watch the show, I will be comparing the major differences in the plot. I will lightly retell the events of both stories, giving an idea of how each is structured. Towards the end, I’ll give my thoughts on what changes I liked and didn’t like. Let me know your own thoughts and opinions on the changes, and let me know if I missed something important.
The Accident
Film: The film starts with Frozen Heart, where Ice Harvesters are foretelling the events in the film. Then, Elsa hits Anna in the ball room while she is trying to stop her from jumping off a snow hill. Agnarr is the one with knowledge on what to do, looking up the location of the Trolls. The family go to the Valley of the Hidden Rock, where Grand Pabbie erases Anna’s memories. He then warns her that her magic is beautiful but dangerous, and that fear will be her enemy. During this time, Kristoff is there watching the entire scene go down and gets adopted by Bulda.
Broadway: Frozen Heart is removed, and replaced with Let the Sun Shine On, giving us insight into the royal family. Then, we hear another song as Elsa and Anna are playing with each other, A Little Bit of You. Later, Elsa hits Anna in their bedroom when she accidentally gets in the way of one of Elsa’s magic blasts. Their parents come into their room, and it is Iduna who has knowledge about the Trolls, who are called the Hidden Folk in this version. She issues a call, similar to that of the siren in Frozen 2, to call the Hidden Folk to the bedroom through the window. Grand Pabbie erases Anna’s memories, but then Elsa asks him to erase her powers as well. He tells her that this isn’t possible, and that fear will be her enemy.
The Parent’s Deaths
Film: Agnarr and Iduna leave (for Ahtohallan) when Elsa is 18, and Anna is 15. It is implies that Elsa ruled Arendelle from this point, until Elsa officially became queen at 21. Anna sings the last verse of Do You Want to Build a Snowman in the perspective of a grieving sister, seeking Elsa’s companionship. Elsa is on the other side of the door, grieving as well with her powers out of control.
Broadway: Agnarr and Iduna leave when Elsa and Anna are still around the same age as when the accident happens. Elsa doesn’t rule at all, since she’s a child, and is instead guided by a regent. Anna sings the last verse of Do You Want to Build a Snowman with different lyrics, implied to be the the day before the coronation. Elsa is again on the other side of the door, but her unleashed powers are for her anxiety for the coronation.
The Coronation
Film: We briefly see an adult Kristoff buying carrots for Sven, and then we are also introduced to the Duke of Weselton talking about exploiting Arendelle for riches. Then, Anna wakes up and dresses herself, running around the castle until she runs into Hans. Hans and Anna have a short interaction, fumbling around in a boat, before she returns to the castle. During this time, Elsa is trying to practice for the coronation, already dressed in her coronation outfit. We then go the the church scene where Elsa almost reveals her powers. A lot of her reactions and emotions are told by her facial expressions and subtle actions. We then go to the introduction of the party scene, where Elsa is seen happy and relieved.
Broadway: We immediately begin with Anna waking up, this time being helped to get dressed by servants, a change also reflected in a lyric change for For the First Time in Forever. The scene has Anna running through the castle as well, but she has more interactions with servants and other guests. Elsa is not dressed in her coronation outfit when we see her, instead in a blue dress. Anna runs into Hans again, but the scene includes a song called Prince Hans of the Southern Isles and has a bit more sexual tension related comedy. This is also where we first meet Kristoff, as Anna and Hans fall into his cart instead of the boat. Later, during the Church scene and extending into the beginning of the party scene, Elsa actually has an inner monologue song to express her emotions instead, called Dangerous to Dream.
Climb to the Mountain
Film: As soon as Elsa leaves, she arrives on the top of the North Mountain that same night and sings Let it Go. Anna follows her but gets lost, traveling around for around a day before reaching Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post. This is where she first meets Kristoff, and then buys her new traveling outfit before bribing Kristoff to take her up the mountain, where he briefly sings Reindeers are Better than People. Later on, after traveling and being attacked by wolves, they group meets Olaf, who sings In Summer. We later see an update of what is happening in Arendelle, with Hans arguing with the duke before seeing Anna;s horse and deciding to go after her.
Thus, the order of events are as follows -
Elsa runs, as Anna decides to go after her.
Elsa reaches the North Mountain and sings Let it Go.
Anna travels around, reaching Oaken’s.
Anna meets Kristoff.
Anna and Kristoff argue about love.
They meet Olaf.
We get an update on Hans in Arendelle.
Broadway: There are a few major changes in the order of all of these scenes. Elsa is shown leaving, but actually doesn’t reach the North Mountain until around the second night of traveling, singing Let it Go as a closer for Act 1. Anna meets Kristoff (in which they have a duet What do you Know About Love and is given her own ice harvester outfit) and Olaf (who sings In Summer) before reaching Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post in Act II, where we hear another song called Hygge. This is when Anna purchases her iconic traveling outfit. We then see the update in Arendelle, with Hans arguing with the duke, however the citizens of Arendelle intervene and start to sing Prince Hans of the Southern Isles Reprise. He then sees Anna’s horse and then decides to go after her.
Thus, the order of events are as follows -
Elsa runs, as Anna decides to go after her.
Anna meets Kristoff.
Anna and Kristoff argue about love in song form.
They meet Olaf.
We get an update on Hans in Arendelle.
Elsa reaches the North Mountain and sings Let it Go.
Act II begins with them reaching Oaken’s.
*Note* In the ‘traveling’ versions of the Broadway musical, Hygge is sung before Prince Hans of the Southern Isles Reprise, and is not used as an opener for Act II.
Confrontations and Trolls
Film: Anna and the gang reach the Ice palace, where Anna talks to Elsa and the two sing For the First Time in Forever Reprise. The conversation eventually leads to Anna being accidentally struck by ice magic, where Elsa then summons Marshmallow to kick them out. The gang realize Anna’s predicament, and go to the Trolls to figure out what to do. The song Fixer Upper is sang, and then Pabbie tells them about an the act of true love. Later, during the Siege, Hans fights Marshmallow and eventually reaches Elsa fighting with the duke’s guards, eventually causing the chandelier to fall on her. He returns her to Arendelle, where they talk to each other. Then, Kristoff reaches Arendelle and delivers Anna.
Broadway: Again, some scenes are miked around in this version. Anna and the gang reach the Ice palace, where Anna talks to Elsa and the two sing For the First Time in Forever Reprise. The conversation eventually leads to Anna being struck by ice magic, however Marshmallow is not in this version as Anna is dragged out by Kristoff. The gang realize Anna’s predicament, and go to the Hidden Folk to figure out what to do. The song Fixer Upper is sang, and then Pabbie tells them about an the act of true love. Then, Kristoff reaches Arendelle and delivers Anna. Here, Kristoff sings a solo Reprise of What do you Know About Love, called Kristoff Lullaby. Later, during the Siege, Elsa sings Monster, now wearing pants, as Hans and the guards try to find her. He eventually finds her, but convinces her to go back without throwing a chandelier on her. they return her to Arendelle, where they talk to each other.
*Note* In the ‘traveling’ versions of the Broadway musical, For the First Time in Forever Reprise is replaced by a new song called I Can’t Lose You. This song is similar to FTFTIFR, but goes into more details on Anna and Elsa’s feelings about each other, their desires for their relationship, and their fears of losing one another.
The Ending
Film: Anna tells Hans about her situation, in which he turns and betrays her. He then announces to the dignitaries that he is charging Elsa with treason, and sentences her to death. Olaf arrives and tries to help Anna get to Kristoff, eventually leading to her seeing Hans try to kill Elsa. Anna sacrifices herself, leading to the act of true love and the great thaw. Vuelie is played in the background while Elsa thaws everything. Olaf is then stopped from melting by Elsa, Then, possibly a few days later, Anna and the gang are seen happily enjoying their new lives. No more songs are sung during the ending.
Broadway: Anna tells Hans about her situation, in which he turns and betrays her. Anna sings a song called True Love where she reflects on her choices and thoughts. Olaf arrives and tries to help Anna get to Kristoff, where she hears Hans announce that he is charging Elsa with treason. This scenes follow similarly to how they play out in the film, but is performed with a song called Colder by the Minute. Then Anna sacrifices herself, leading the the act of true love. Then, Olaf sings When Everything Falls Apart, as he is melting before Elsa saves him. Elsa then thaws everything, which is done with performance of a finale song, a Reprise of Let it Go.
*Note* When Everything Falls Apart is placed differently depending on the show. Sometimes, it’s after Finale/Let it go, and others its not present at all.
*Note #2* Hans and Anna actually kiss in the Broadway version before the betrayal scene. They kiss after Love is an Open Door, which is dragged out for comedic purposes.
My Thoughts
~ Changes I Liked ~
I liked how they incorporated Iduna more in the beginning. I feel it balances the parent’s roles a bit better. However, given that the creators did not have the ideas for Frozen 2 while writing Frozen, it makes sense that they did not include anything about Iduna’s heritage yet.
I loved the inclusions of Dangerous to Dream and Monster. One of the criticisms of Frozen was how Elsa did not have enough screen time, and these songs really add to her character and clear up some of her thoughts and positions on different elements; like how she feels about Anna and having a more active role in wanting to stop the winter.
I really enjoyed actually having songs after Fixer Upper. Frozen ending it’s soundtrack so abruptly was always jarring in the film, and I think having songs like True Love and Finale/Let it Go really helps make the story feel complete and could’ve benefited the original film.
The Kristoff centered songs, What do You Know About Love and Kristoff Lullaby were welcome additions. While I feel that the film reflects very well about Kristoff’s feelings for Anna and a song like Kristoff Lullaby wasn’t really necessary, a song like What do You Know About Love would’ve really benefited the film. It would have not only given Kristoff a more proper song, but also help better set up Kristoff and Anna’s relationship.
HYGGE HYGGE HYGGE HYGGE HYGGE - HYGGE HYGGE HYGGE HYGGE HYGGE - HYGGALY HYGGALY HYGGALY HYGGALY HYGGALY - I’m obsessed with this song, it’s the most hilarious thing I’ve ever heard haha.
I liked seeing A Little Bit of You for young Anna and Elsa. I would’ve loved in the film if we saw more time with them together, but I understand that given all the elements they had to cover and the limited time, they couldn’t fit too much in the childhood days.
~ Changes I Didn’t Like ~
The age change of the girls when the parents died was strange to me and how they changed Do You Want to Build a Snowman was jarring. I feel it lessens to impact of the song.
I wasn’t a big fan of the song Prince Hans of the Southern Isles. I don’t think the song is very memorable and I would’ve wanted Hans to have a more interesting song to be honest.
When Everything Falls Apart is a really ugly song in my opinion. It’s honestly the only Frozen song that I just really don’t like. I’m glad in some versions this song vanishes haha.
I feel the sudden change from For the First Time in Forever Reprise to I Can’t Lose You is a bit unnecessary. Not that I Can’t Lose You is a bad song - it’s a gorgeous song - I just feel like that For the First Time in Forever is fine and continues the idea of mirroring the songs from Act I into Act II that we see.
Making Hans and Anna kiss after Love is an Open Door lessens the impact of the betrayal scene in my opinion. In fact, a lot of the sexual humor between them was unnecessary. I understand it - it’s to help make the comedy more mature and show that Anna’s attraction to Hans is more physical than romantic. But I feel it wasn’t executed all that well.
Changing the Trolls was also unnecessary. I can see how they wanted to make the Trolls more mature, but just make their designs less cartoonish, not completely change them into a different creature entirely.
I prefer Frozen Heart to Let the Sun Shine On. Both songs are great, and I know that Let the Sun Shine On is a better Broadway opener, but I like the more mysterious elements of Frozen Heart.

Dinner for two
A Kristanna one shot fanfic
Rating: F/M
Relationship: Anna/Kristoff (canon verse)
Words counting: 2401
Summary: On the evening of the great thaw, Anna provides Kristoff with a gallant dinner at his new accommodation. This is about coming home and getting first steps into friendship. Some feelings... Because I can´t help it getting them together in an innocent way...
Hope you enjoy!!! :)
So, the villain was thrown overboard and put to the castle jail for the time being.
There had been great cheer and laughter once the party of three plus a reindeer and snowman riding between the animal´s antlers had got down from the boat to get into the harbour on a transport vessel.
Then, everything happened in a rush over… The moment they descended the boat, people came running up greeting and questioning them with lot of excitement.
Elsa first talked to Kai, then turned to Anna “I will have to talk to the ambassadors and guests of honour to explain. You will make sure to take a rest before tonight´s dinner, will you?”
“But Elsa,” Anna intervened, “you need a rest, too.” Elsa waved off and explained, that she would rest later, for sure.
“All right,” Anna smiled and then gasped, leaning closer to her sister, whispering, “I would like to take care, Kristoff and Sven get a suitable accommodation for the time being. But for that, I will need Gerda´s help. Is that okay with you?” Elsa nodded happily, that was a great idea. She then left towards the castle. The people would not come to close near her, after all she was the queen.
Anna turned to Kristoff, who stood surrounded by some customers from the marketplace. He got questioned on what had happened and he shrugged, not really knowing what to say.
Anna wanted to step up, hooking herself into Kristoff´s arm kind of protecting him from the friendly attacks. But then a thought struck her mind ´you just kicked your false fiancé overboard and now you go for the next one? ´ She felt a bit forlorn and silly. But then, the ice harvester was her friend, was he not? He looked like he desperately needed some help, it was her turn now to step in for him. So, Anna came along and stood next to the man who had raced down the hills with her. “Ah, you must know, it is all rather complicated. We will explain in time, I promise. But will you please excuse us, we all need some rest.”
The chatter ebbed and the people apologetically moved out of the way and smiling they went off.
Kristoff sighed and glared at Anna “thank you. That was spooky.”
“Ehem, nearly as scary as Marshmallow on the north-mountain…?” She giggled and then added quickly, “don´t worry, I will show you and Sven a safe place.”
****************
A bit later, Olaf sat on Anna´s bed and looked around in amazement. “Oh Anna, your home is so lovely. I like it.”
“Glad you do,” Anna smiled at her little friend, “you are welcome to stay with me if you like.”
“Oh, I don´t know. I promised Sven to come over for a visit.” Olaf mused. “Do you think, Kristoff will stay forever in the stables? Should he not rather be sleeping in a bed like other humans?”
Anna glanced to the window, that gave free sight towards the old stable department and hoped deep inside he would feel comfortable right now.
She had offered Kristoff a guest room within the castle. But he had been so reluctant, at the end he confessed he rather stay with Sven in the super nice stables, she had just shown to his best friend. Anna had understood that after all the excitement, the man appreciated the solitude with his companion. She than had promised him to come over later with some dinner.
On Elsa´s request Kristoff had been invited to dine with them and the other guests. That was worse to him than her offer of the guest room in the first place. Anna had chuckled, nodding understanding, and had then excused him for the occasion.
Now, she was about to get ready for the evening dinner. As much as she had ever wished to dine with her sister, to be surrounded with people for chatter and laughter, she now felt kind of uncertain of how to feel about all those people seeing her again. She still felt silly, childish of the late event. She had thrown herself at that betrayer´s neck practically publicly. Gossip would rise for sure… But then, she did not want to leave Elsa alone that first evening back at home.
And then, Anna had mused if she should ask Kristoff why he had come back to Arendelle after all. Apparently, he had rushed to help her. Had Olaf been right, that he loved her? She decided to wait for a proper opportunity to talk to him. But not tonight. They all needed to settle in the first place, get a rest and especially no overthrown talking yet.
Olaf liked what he saw.
Anna had finished dressing. Her light green dress was simple cut, with some traditional embroidery in mix of dark green and black along the front buttons, that run the bodice. The skirt´s bottom seem was embroidered in the same style, just broader stitched. Her hair was combed in a bun, with two braids engulfing the round piece. A green sleeve was stuck decoratively in the right-side braid. Together they went downstairs towards the great dining room. Olaf then left, to see Sven.
The dinner was a quite ongoing. Elsa sat at the head of the table; Anna was seated next to her at the top of the right length side. It was all so overwhelming to Anna, although she was exhausted from all the happenings of late. She would enjoy so much sitting next to her sister daily from now on.
Next to Anna sat Lord Dubois of Bourgogne. He was kind, with a fatherly way of conversation. Lord Dubois had offered to take Prince Hans back to the Southern-Islands, as they lay on his way back home. Elsa and Anna had thanked him for taking care of that misfortunate topic.
Before desert was served, Anna leaned in a bit closer to Elsa with a questioning look. Elsa looked puzzled, then understood. She smiled and nodded with her head for Anna to leave.
Anna quietly said goodbye to her table neighbour and got up. She nodded in the round and then left silently.
Once out of the dining hall, she hurried up towards the kitchen. It was not uncommon for her to show up there. Olina, the cook, had been informed before by Gerda, of the princesses´
request for the night. So, when Anna stood in the door, two baskets with food, dishes, and cutlery service were already packed and ready for her to pick up. Nobody would say a word or question her doing for tonight.
***********************
Kristoff was laying cosily against Sven´s body. The animal had dozed off, after he had been offered a giant bucket of carrots that was delivered by a stable boy. Apparently ordered by the princess personally. The haystack in the corner had been multiplied as well and the water barrel freshly refilled. It was a nice place, dry, warm, and clean. What more could he ask for?
At this very moment, a kicking noise against the door startled him from his musing. Then a soft nock, the door opened slightly, and an auburn head peeped through, grinning “hello, disturbing?”
Kristoff pushed up from his position, unwillingly nudging Sven with his elbow. The reindeer startled up from the ground so fast that Kristoff nearly tipped over backward. Regaining his composure just as fast, he easily cleared his throat, “no, all fine. Please come in.”
Sven had already skipped over to Anna and pranced around, showing his happiness seeing her.
“I must say,” Anna chuckled, stroking Sven´s chin, “this is certainly a far more natural greeting than over there.” She nodded her head towards the castle.
“Why am I glad to have stayed out of that…?” Kristoff remarked with a grin and stepped closer to give Anna a hand with her bringing in the baskets. “Have you kicked the door just before?” he asked. “Yes, I thought it was loose and I could just push it with my foot. But it didn´t move so I still had to free a hand.” Anna shrugged and then explained, “oh yes, that´s your dinner. I hope you like it. I guess the cook has put in enough, hopefully.”
Kristoff stared at the baskets in front of his feet and asked, “but you got something to eat already, did you? Who do you think should eat that all up?”
“I thought you must be starving by now, so I wanted to make sure you get the best share of it!”
“Thank you,” Kristoff meant it because his stomach did rumble since a while, “that´s very considerate. Must you go back immediately, or can I offer the princess a … seat in the strow?” He gestured with a generous move towards the stables, where Sven had laid himself back down in the corner.
Anna grinned and then laughed, feeling so comfortable and honestly welcomed. “Oh yes, that would round up the evening just perfectly, thank you!” She followed Kristoff´s gesture and went over to the strow and plopped herself down into the golden bed. She patted Sven´s neck behind her, adjusted her skirts shifting around and then sat straight, ready to be a good company.
“Where is Olaf,” Anna looked around wondering where the little fellow had gone. “Oh, he went back to your room. He said that he had never seen a bed so comfy in his entire life and couldn´t wait to go get a good sleep. Honestly, how long has he actually lived?” Kristoff chuckled and grabbed the baskets, then placed himself opposite from Anna.
“True,” Anna sighed, “but I´m so happy we have him here.” Kristoff nodded, reassuring gently, “yes, he is unique.”
Going through the immense food offer before him he whistled, glaring at Anna in amazement. “Okay, that´s provision for a week. How long do you want to jail me up in here?”
Anna stared shocked. He felt imprisoned. No, that´s not what she had meant it to be… Panic rose within her and tears shot to her eyes.
Kristoff noticed her face going white and eyes filling with tears. Oh no, what had he said? “Anna are you, all right? What is it?”
“Is it so terrible for you to be here in town, at the castle´s environment?” She whispered, facing down, and fiddling with the fabric of the skirt with her fingers.
Kristoff´s heart skipped for a moment. She worried for his well-being and thought he didn´t like it here… How fond he was of her. She was so honest, so selfless. “No, Anna. I´m grateful to be here. That you let me stay in here with Sven and don´t rush me to sleep in a room I could not identify with right now. I was kidding about being jailed up, okay?” He tilted his head to get a glance at her face.
Anna looked up slowly when he was about to speak. She smiled uncertain of how to respond and then smiled at him, “you´re welcome. This place is yours for as long as you like.”
Kristoff sighed relieved to have her smiling again, “thanks. Sounds great to me. Besides, I could not go anywhere far for the time being. I will have to reorganise my stuff.”
Anna gasped, put a finger up as to mark the importance, “about that! Thanks for the reminder. Don´t worry, it´s all organised. Kai will take care of that. But we need an exact and clearly detailed list of all your belongings and supplies, that go along with the sled.” She started fiddling around in one of the baskets and pulled out a bundle of papers and pencil. “There, will you please set the list till tomorrow morning? That´d be great!” Anna beamed and laid the paper and pen next to Kristoff on the floor.
The man looked back and forth from her to the paper. “Are you serious?” he gasped. “You shouldn´t…”
“I promised you, forgotten? I would have totally understood if you had just walked off. But to be honest, I was so glad and thankful for your coming along. What would I have done without you?” Again, Anna´s eyes got moisty, but she composed herself, clearing her throat, adding conspiratorially “but still I understand it was Sven´s idea, right?” She winked and then put a sheepish smile, pulling up her shoulders giggling.
“Yes, absolutely, it was!” Kristoff laughed and waved a hand in defence.
“But now,” Anna nodded seriously to the baskets, “you should really do yourself some good and start eating, please.”
Kristoff had insisted she should have a little share, otherwise he´d feel foolish eating all alone. As she hadn´t had any desert yet, Anna gladly granted his wish and helped herself with some nuts and another glass of wine. Then she checked the sweets basket and cried out joyfully discovering some chocolate cake.
Kristoff tried not to stuff impolitely, but the diverse ingredients were delicious and so multiplied he could hardly decide where to start and how much he should enjoy. As he hadn´t eaten a lot the last days in the first place, he felt full very soon.
He rubbed his stomach and sighed contentedly. “Thank you so much. I think I have not eaten so well, since… I even can´t remember haven eaten so well ever before.”
“Don´t tell me you would not enjoy a vast food feast at your family´s place?” Anna laughed, but then gasped and stared at Kristoff.
He had not noticed still caressing his belly. “No, that´s all wonderful. Berries, mushrooms, and sorts, you know. But I still indulge from that delicacy you know.”
“Kristoff. Your family.” Anna put her hands to her chest, “don´t they need to know that we´re all fine and things have turned out to the best?”
Now Kristoff looked at her, grinning, “I think, they already know… But if you like, I will take you up there again as soon as I can. So, you will tell them personally okay? But no, maybe that´s a bad idea. I mean, they will surely love to see you again… Only, you never know what they are up to the next time you meet them… you know?” He looked kind of apologetical and then uncertain not to scare her off.
Anna smiled, shrugging she mused, “well, what if we just roll with it….?”

Frozen 2 Musical themes
Hey everyone! This mega post is my labour of love and tribute to the songs and score of Frozen 2, my #1 favourite soundtrack now. I wish to show all the musical themes and how they interweave in the score, following the plot and adding a rich layer to the story. This is all my original work from months of listening, I have not watched the special feature "Scoring a Sequel" or read any F2 piano books. I have given my own names to the themes. The themes may be heard in different keys and variations in different parts of the score; I won't be transcribing all the different keys and variations, sorry.
SONG THEMES
1. Vuelie (nanana heyanna)
This choral piece is heard in the beginning of both F1 and F2, as well as during The Great Thaw of F1, the Enchanted forest (where Vuelie is revealed to be a Northuldran chant/folksong) and of course, in the magnificent ending of F2.
2. All Is Found (lullaby) A very central song to the whole movie, the sung version makes 3 4 reprises - Anna sings it to Elsa in the bedroom; Elsa and Honeymaren sing it in the forest; in Ahtohallan we hear “Where the north wind, meets the sea” and the image of Iduna sings “come my darling homeward bound” in Show Yourself; lastly, Iduna can be heard singing the warning "but not too far or you'll be drowned" just before Elsa plunges off the cliff. The instrumental theme is very moving and is heard whenever Iduna is referenced in the following scenes: A) Enchanted forest when Elsa takes out the scarf "I know what you need", Northuldrans reveal that the scarf is Northuldran and EA recognise the frozen statue of young Iduna; B) the ship scene when EA find the map and Anna says "this is mother's handwriting" and Elsa makes the ice statues of Agduna at their death appear and cries from the pain of believing she cursed them; C) lastly, when Elsa screams "No!" and freezes to death in Ahtohallan, ending on a very grave note.
3. Some Things Never Change
The musical theme of the verse and chorus are used repeatedly in the epilogue scene (from Queen Anna's appearance in Arendelle, all the way till Elsa reads the letter in Ahtohallan) and shows that while many things have changed at the end of the adventure, some things Never change. I have written a full post on the Epilogue here.
4. Into The Unknown The musical theme of the first 2 lines of the chorus plays when the main characters first set off from Arendelle in the wagon (in an "active"-sounding variation), signifying that they are literally going into the Unknown. It recurs seconds later (in a sweet variation played by the flute), when they pass through a valley and EAK unanimously tell Olaf that sleeping on long journeys prevents insanity! (both not in the CD)
5. When I Am Older A short segment of Olaf's musical theme is played in a cutesy way when Olaf appears and says "I got this". This is in the Enchanted forest, just after Elsa freezes the floor to repel the Northuldrans and the Arendellian soldiers, and just before his dramatic recap of F1. (not in the CD)
6. The Next Right Thing
The musical theme is heard twice before the actual song, as a foreshadowing. You hear it when A) Anna is talking to Mattias in the forest and they talk about doing the next right thing. B) the cave scene after Anna and Olaf see the frozen statue of Runeard murdering the leader and Anna realises what she must do to free the forest.
SCORE THEMES
7. Elsa's theme
In the transcription, the red section is the most recognisable part of the tune, though the theme is actually much longer. This is Elsa's theme, especially when she is doing something strenuous or heroic. This theme is first heard when A) Elsa fights Gale in the tornado, and the ice memories start appearing. We hear it in full when B) Elsa is talking to Honeymaren, but in a very sweet, soft variation that is primarily played by the harp. C) During Elsa's fight with Nokk in the Dark sea and this piece of music is genius. The Water theme and Elsa's theme clash with each other, fighting as the characters fight. Each theme is heard when the respective characters seem to be getting an upper hand and sometimes the themes combine - you can hear the triplet rhythm of the Water theme beneath Elsa's theme; until Elsa comes out on top and her theme soars majestically, with no further hint of the Water theme. The theme calms down as the waters calm down. D) When Anna speaks to Mattias at the dam and says "my sister gave her life for the truth" which is a VERY nice reference. E) Lastly, in its most heroic form when Elsa rides down the tidal wave, outruns it and saves Arendelle with her massive ice shield.
8. Sisters theme
I contemplated naming this theme Anna's love theme. This is the most beautiful theme in the entire score (Peace theme is a close second) It comprises a moving melody, coupled with a delicate moving chord sequence that is usually introduced by the harp. It is heard 4 times, always when Elsa and Anna are alone and talking to each other heart to heart. A) in the bedroom: "What things? You're doing great!... What would I do without you?"; B) after the Earth Giant appeared and walked off and Anna stops Elsa from following it: "remember, the goal is to find the voice" - only the melody part is heard; C) the exceptionally moving scene outside the ship when Anna lovingly comforts a tearful Elsa: "You are a gift!... I believe in you Elsa, more than anyone or anything"; and finally, D) in the emotional reunion scene when Anna looks in the distance, realises Elsa is alive and the sisters reunite with Anna running to Elsa and crying happy tears.
9. Magic theme
I wanted to call this one Sorcery theme but it sounds too negative. This theme is actually from F1! It is just 5 iconic notes. In F1 it is heard when young EA play with snow; when the royal family sets off to find the trolls; when Agduna's ship sinks; and when Queen Elsa accidentally reveals her powers and Weaseltown exclaims "Sorcery!". In F2: A) When Elsa fights Gale (Wind), before Elsa's theme; B) When Elsa fights Bruni (Fire and Ice), played by violins at a high pitch; C) When Anna and Olaf find themselves "In a pit with no way out"; and D) When the dam starts to collapse and the unity snowflake appears in the sky, signifying Elsa's resurrection.
10. Peace theme
The Peace theme is actually related to the Magic theme. Just change the fourth note of the Magic theme by flattening it by one semitone and a mysterious, ominous theme transforms into a sweet one! Genius. This theme is heard A) softly when young EA are playing with snow in F2's first scene, just after "bedtime soon!" (not in CD); B) in the Northuldran village after the tribe sings Vuelie, when everyone is at peace. The theme is beautiful here, with a piano playing a melody over a harp background. We also hear it twice more in relation to Olaf - C) sadly, as Olaf flurries away in a devastated Anna's embrace. He is, metaphorically speaking, "at peace". The theme then blends into the "sweet Gale theme" as Gale gathers Olaf's remains. D) Happily, when Olaf is resurrected by Elsa! This is prefaced by "sweet Gale theme 2" when Elsa asks Anna "Do you want to build a snowman?"
11. Northuldra theme
This mysterious and slightly creepy theme is actually very long, but the iconic part is marked in red. An important theme, it is played by the Gemshorn for its haunting sound. This theme is heard whenever the Northuldra are referenced (except for one instance) The full theme is heard A) when Agnarr tells the story of the Northuldra and the war. B) After the exodus, when Anna is talking to Elsa and says "Wait, the Enchanted Forest? The one father warned us about?" (not in CD). C) When the main characters stand in front of the mist, which makes sense since they are about to enter Northuldra territory. D) Very briefly, when we hear shuffling in the forest, Anna grabs the Sword and the Northuldra reveal themselves. E) When the sisters look at their parents' ship in horror, and inside the ship until it blends into All Is Found theme. I cannot explain why the theme is used here (there's nothing to do with the Northuldra), except that it's a sufficiently creepy and sad theme to match the scene. F) At the dam, when the earth giants throw their boulders. I interpret that as the Northuldrans are being freed from the curse. The theme blends into Magic theme when Elsa resurrects, recurs as the waters rush down the fjord, and blends into Elsa's heroic theme.
12. Gale's theme
This is the “main” Gale's theme that is heard in full in the forest scene when Gale is playing with the main characters (after the tornado). In essence it is just 3 notes and is heard every time Gale appears. In the main theme, the first note is an augmented fifth (eg, C-Aflat) which is slightly mysterious and instantly recognisable.
There are a couple of variations on the main theme. Christophe Beck shows his genius here. He uses the same three notes for "angry" Gale, when Elsa fights Gale, but, he changes the base note and the augmented fifth is not heard. (so the first note is G, in G minor). There is a lot of additional fast-paced orchestration that amps up the "angry" feeling, but the main 3 notes are still there. The other variation is the "sweet" Gale's theme. In this variation, the third note of the theme is flattened by one semitone. Genius. We first hear it when Olaf dies and Gale gathers his remains. We also hear it (sweet 2) when Elsa asks Anna DYWTBAS, and lastly in the epilogue (sweet 2) when Gale comes to appreciate the statue of Agduna. The difference between "sweet" and "sweet 2" is simply that the base chord is different.
13. Bruni's theme
Bruni's theme is a melody that jumps up from the first 2 notes, to a note that is held and then repeats itself before coming down. This theme is all over the Elsa-Bruni fight, accompanied by a lot of rapid orchestration to make it sound intense. At the end of the fight, when Bruni is calm, we hear a "calm" version of the theme played gently. The musical difference is that the jump is a major 6th in the "angry" theme, and a minor 6th in the "calm" theme. We also hear Bruni's theme immediately after the main characters have passed through the mist into the forest - there's a short segment where Bruni is checking them out with his "Bruni-vision". Lastly we also hear it when Olaf interacts with Bruni "this is why we don't play with fire... Why are you so cute!" (The latter is not on the CD)
14. Earth Giants theme
This is a series of block chords, that starts high pitched and then cascades down rapidly. The last chord is very low, an octave lower. The Gemshorn Fujara is part of the Earth giants' characteristic theme. It is blown hard (overblown) during the first chord, making this VERY haunting, mystical sound. A) When Elsa parts the mist and they look at the stone pillars of the elements. B) When the main characters are blown through the mist (interesting that it's not Gale's theme); C) When a giant walks near the Northuldran village and almost sees Elsa; D) when Anna and Olaf encounter the sleeping giants on the river in their ice boat and E) when Anna screams at them to wake up to help her break the dam.
15. Water theme
I did not call this Nokk's theme because Nokk does not appear in the ice boat river scene. This theme is very rapid in that scene; it is played slower in the Dark Sea during Elsa's fight with Nokk.
Minor themes
16. Ahtohallan theme
This theme plays when Elsa is seeing all the ice memories in amazement. It is combined with Elsa's theme and is initially joyous and lighthearted. However, as the scene progresses and Runeard's evil nature is gradually revealed, the music darkens and becomes more ominous. At the cliff, after Iduna's warning is heard, the second, spookier, version of the theme is heard.
17. Gone Too Far theme
A really creepy theme that gives me goose bumps. It is heard when Anna and Olaf receive Elsa's icy message about the truth behind Runeard's dam. It is followed by The Next Right Thing theme; it then recurs as Olaf starts to flurry away and Anna slowly realises in horror that something has gone terribly wrong.
18. Anna running theme
Sounds similar to Water theme but is different. Heard when Anna runs from the Earth giants in the forest, and when she runs on the top of the dam. Lastly here is a master list of the score, track by track starting from #4 Exodus, of all the musical references in chronological order. 4. Exodus - “main” Gale's theme 5. The Mist - Northuldra, Earth Giant, Bruni, Northuldra 6. Wind - "angry" Gale, Magic, Elsa's theme, main Gale's theme, Northuldra (short) 8. Fire and Ice - "angry" Bruni, Magic, "calm" Bruni 7. Iduna's scarf - All is found, Gale's theme, Vuelie, Peace theme, The Next Right Thing, Elsa's theme 9. Earth Giants - Earth Giants, Sisters theme (short) 10. The Ship - Gale's theme (short), Northuldra, All is found, Sisters 11. River Slide - Water, Earth Giants, Water, Magic 12. Dark Sea - Water, Elsa's theme 13. Ghosts of Arendelle Past - Ahtohallan theme, Elsa's theme, All is found (short) 14. Gone Too Far - Gone too far theme, TNRT, Gone too far theme, Peace theme, "sweet" Gale's theme 15. Rude Awakening - Anna running theme, Earth Giants 16. The Flood - Elsa's theme, Anna running theme, Northuldra, Magic, Northuldra, Elsa's theme (heroic) 18. Reunion - Sisters, "sweet" Gale's theme 2, Peace theme 19. Epilogue - Some Things Never Change, "sweet" Gale's theme 2, Vuelie

If Merida admitted to having a crush on Hiccup in Wreck it Ralph 2, what would the princesses think?
Ok so I don't know if you did it on purpose but you just poked into one of my biggest hyperfixations: Disney Princesses. I adore the idea of all of them hanging out in the WiFi-verse.
So first off, I like to headcanon that the Disney characters are not allowed to talk to Dreamworks', but everyone has broken that rule at some point because the Dreamworks guys are so much fun to hang out with. Cue the big four escaping together in clandestine hangouts in the deep web. Their favorite sites to hang-out in are Deviantart, Tumblr and etc.
Also, I like to believe most of the princesses insist that the recent ones (Elsa, Merida and Moana) will find a significant other sooner or later. All that being said, here are some personal reactions.
Snow-white: Oh! I knew your prince would come, and such a hansome brave gentleman too! (excited singing, like in the movie)
Aurora: Cindy owes me so much money.
Cinderella: Bibidi-bobiddy-crap. I do NOT have the money.
Ariel: Ooo, now you two get to... What's it called... Fly! You get to fly together!
Jasmine: Yes! Make sure to travel the whole wide world together. Such romantic sights! You need to go to Egypt and China and the new continent, sing a duet over his dragon and...
Pocahontas: Ah, forbidden love. Painful, at most, but very worth it. Keep your heart open to bravery.
Mulan: Hold on, I need to get you two some yin-yang pendants. Actually, scratch that, light and night fury pendants would go better.
Belle: But why is everyone rushing? So far we don't know if he likes her back... No Merida, no offense, it's just, everyone has the right to say no, right?
Tiana: Girl, no matter what happens, always remember the true important things in life. Even if he says no (glares at Belle), you need to dig into your friendship and enjoy it for what it is.
Rapunzel: You guys, stay calm. I know Hiccup like i know my own mind. He is head over heels for Mer. You two just NEED TO TALK.
Elsa: For how long have you known him, again?
Anna: Can I punch Belle now? No? Ok.
So he's a little bit of a fixer upper, but you'll make the perfect power couple. Just, confess ypur feelings. True love can thaw a frozen heart.
Moana: Mer, i thought WE were the "romance is overrated" squad. What happened?
So far they're happy to help her sneak out and meet him at his site. Also, Cinderella's mice might or might not have done a few modifications to her dress to add on to her charm. And of course, Mulan gave her her lucky sword, Jasmine insisted in the flying duet, and Ariel accidentally stuck a dinglehopper on Merida's hair, trying to brush it a little. They all want her to find love, at her own time.

The Snowflake II: Light of the Stars Song Preview
*SPOILERS FOR THE SNOWFLAKE 1 BELOW!!!*
"Singing"
"Sing" - "Siiing"
*(Song Title - Source/Artist)*
MORE INFO UNDER THE CUT!!!
NOTICE: The song and lyrics were written by ME. I own the song, but not the character or the setting. This version of Jack Frost belongs to Dreamworks and William Joyce, while Arendelle and Frozen belong to Disney.
*(It’s Enough - Chris Pine)*
(VERSE 1)
Stop right there…
Don’t step out of line…
You have all that you need.
What have you right now is fine.
Turn back.
You’ve been down there before.
You’ll lose everything,
If you go and ask for more.
No more heys and hello,
It’ll just be me in the snow.
I’ll go back to being as lonely as I used to be.
No more friends who love and care.
Wanting more from them ain’t fair.
Why can’t what I have now be enough for me
(CHORUS 1)
When it’s enough?
It’s enough.
It’s more than enough.
To have a home to go to,
And friends who adore you,
Is enough.
It’s enough.
It’s more than enough…
It has to be enough.
(VERSE 2)
You can’t want.
Don’t you know the score?
You can’t hope for anything else,
Or sadness will be what’s in store.
Didn’t you learn
The lesson the first time?
Being selfish is when
You lose the right to see her shine.
Leaving her alone.
That’s when it finally hit home,
That I have to put my own needs after others’.
Love is being selfless,
Can’t risk being careless.
To have her be in my life, and allow me to be in hers…
(CHORUS 2)
Is enough!
It’s enough!
It’s more than enough.
To be there for her,
And be part of the picture
Is enough!
It’s enough!
It’s more than enough…
It has to be enough.
(BRIDGE)
Thinking back to how things were when I started,
It’s enough for me to be spotted and wanted.
To be caught up in the princess’ quirky rhythm,
Is one of the nicest gifts I’ve ever been given.
To hear the ice guy do his weird reindeer thing,
Which I admit, is sorta endearing.
And Olaf, too, with his fun attitude.
Makes my own brand of fun look subdued.
And her…
Oh, her…
The way she makes things better and bright,
And everything else feel so right,
Like a star hanging atop the vast moonlit night!
(PAUSE, CORRECTS HIMSELF.)
I owe it all to her,
That’s why I gotta make sure,
The selfish Jack Frost of old is here no longer…
Can’t want anything further…
(FINAL CHORUS)
Because it’s enough!
It’s enough!
It’s more than enough!
Friends who want me near!
Family new and dear!
Everything I ever wanted is right here!
It’s enough!
It’s enough!
It’s more than enough!
(ENDING)
It has to be… eeenooouuugh.
This song is gonna be one of two original songs that will be featured in my future sequel to my story The Snowflake, which you can read here.
This song was written on a whim in one day, heavily inspired by all the info coming out of both Annecy (special thanks to @justlookatthosesausages for divulging what she saw) and D23 Expo last weekend.
This takes place after the charades scene. Jack checks on Elsa, because I headcanon that Jack, a being a who thrives on fun, can sense when people aren’t having fun and/or are distressed, something he has over Anna when it comes to Elsa. He goes to check on her, but knows only Anna can cheer her up.
After the sisters fall asleep, he’s glad, but can’t help but wish he was the one able to help her. He is not jealous of Anna. More like he wishes deep down that he could be someone like that for her. Someone special and irreplaceable in Elsa’s heart.
Ever since the Great Thaw, Jack has been feeling out of place in Arendelle, despite being welcomed there by Elsa and the others. It’s a heavy case of imposter syndrome, and lack of direction. His reason for being there was to help Elsa control her powers and reunite with Anna, but now that she has control, as well as Anna - not to mention she’s capable of having fun without him - he’s struggling to find a purpose to keep him close to Elsa. He WANTS to be there, but cannot shake the feeling he’s part of a picture he’s not supposed to be in. (Technically not since he’s from ROTG and he’s in Frozen, lol)
He doesn’t know what he’s feeling, and is afraid to name it. Not to mention he’s still feeling guilty for leaving Elsa right before her parents died, and for selfish reasons. He has taken “Love is selflessness” to heart, but in doing so, is unknowingly relinquishing his right to love her, even if he isn’t aware that he loves her yet.
His feelings are complicated, so the bottom line is that he’s trying not to be selfish, for he’s afraid that if he does become selfish with her, he loses his right to be a part of her life.
But that’s just the tip of the iceberg for his problems in the sequel.
Anyway, hope you guys enjoyed it! I’m super excited to write this story, as you can tell, and also excited for Frozen II!
But first... gotta finish The Snowflake 1 first!

( MY CANON DIVERGANT INFO PART ONE ) :
Anna will remain to have the white streak in her hair from when the trolls erased her memories as she will still not remember that it was Elsa that caused the accident. Even after she has been "thawed" and it won't fade away until she gets her memories back.
Anna does suffer from ADHD , possible PTSD and depression. However the PTSD may not be completely written in since I don't want to do it incorrectly with those who do have it.
Anna has abandonment issues especially during her main verse since she longs for a connection with her sister even her parents. Also with falling in love with Hans quite instantly ( though she is a hopeless romantic ).
Anna has tried to get servants to come play with her to make her less lonely but they never stayed for very long due to other duties. Which lead to the young princess try to help so they can play more . . it was safe to say she didn't do it very much after nearly breaking a lot of plates.
Anna is not engaged or to be wed Kristoff in her main verse or any verse unless stated otherwise.
#( always stay humble and kind * ooc )#( an important announcement * psa )#// more to come but there's some

Graphic novel is a stupid term that often encompasses things that are not novels, but I used it as a blanket term for anything comics I read that were bound rather than stapled. Minis are shorter works, stapled, and generally self-published by the artist, or done by a small press like Shortbox or Youth in Decline. I was totally lazy about crediting creators on series because my actual list for that is a grid, keeping track of each issue. Similarly, when listing creators on trades, I tended to only list writer and artist which is enough for some books, but sometimes there are many more, inkers, and colorists and letterers, and maybe I’ll do better next year.
Support your local library, your local comic shop (especially Hub Comics if you’re in the Boston area), and indie comic shows like MICE.

@tatterdhearts said:‘ i don’t want you to touch me. please don’t touch me, just go away. ’ ( dom @ elsa ! ) accepting
Immediately jumping back Elsa froze for a moment. Hurt written all over her face but not because he had actually hurt her physically. She was fine, but mentally as he told her to go away she was ready to run. Afraid that she had hurt him somehow or that maybe he was just finally seeing her for what she thought she was. A monster. “I-I’m sorry!” Unable to help herself from tearing up. She wrapped her arms around herself.
She took a deep breath. Trying to push her own worried thoughts away to think about him and how him pushing her away right now might not have anything to do with who she was but that maybe he was having a moment like she had all too often. “Dom... I want to respect your wishes and leave, and if that’s what you really want I will because I don’t want to hurt you, but... I don’t think you should be alone right now either.” She fought every instinct in her to run and not look back as she stood there behind him. Wanting so badly to reach out and hold him like he had with her.
“Please...”

Hans Info
Full name: Hans Westergaard
Species: Human
Age: 23
Sexuality: Pansexual
FC(s): Domhnall Gleeson
Bio: As the youngest of 13 brothers, Hans found it pretty difficult to stand out in his family or as a prince. It almost seemed like, no matter what he did to an exceptional degree, one or several of his brothers would do it BETTER. It didn’t help the fact that most of them either ignored him or bullied him for being the youngest. The only sort of love he receives from his family is from his mother, who only seems to be truly content around him.
The young prince knew from an early age that her marriage to his father was arranged. The two never loved each other, never grew to be fond of one another, they can’t even stand being in the same room together. But their marriage united two kingdoms and saved The Southern Isles from disgrace.
One would think that being basically ignored by almost every member of his family would mean that Hans has the freedom to do anything he pleases, but that’s not the case. His father barely spoke to him but his eyes said everything. If Hans didn’t do what the king wanted, he would be punished -- it was the silent treatment version of ‘You may be a waste of space but you’re still a prince of the Southern Isles. Act the part.’. Etiquette, diplomacy, politics, geography, economics, manners... Hans had to master them all.
His only moments of solace were when he would be by himself on his private chambers or in the royal library. The young prince would do nothing but read -- read books about the mysteries of the world, about the different kingdoms and their customs, and, last but not least, fairytales. Yes, fairytales -- something unfit for a prince but Hans found enjoyment out of them. They were that one thing that brought a smile to his face because of how hopeful they make him feel. They made him wish for a better future, one where he was able to find true love and be happy, unlike his parents.
Years later, some months after his 22nd birthday, he was sent by his father to represent The Southern Isles at the coronation of the new queen of Arendelle. Why him? It’s still puzzling for Hans how his father doesn’t consider Arendelle a possible strong ally but was happy to be able to travel away from his homeland for a while. A few days without his family is better than nothing. Not long after a few minutes after arriving at the closed-off kingdom, he accidentally stumbled upon the princess of Arendelle, Anna.
She was the sweetest and prettiest girl he had ever seen -- prettier than all of the wives of his married brothers. And despite the unfortunate way they happened to meet, she didn't think ill of him after almost accidentally pushing her into the sea with his horse -- she even laughed! At that moment, Hans was convinced that the warmth in his chest was love. It has to be, right? What else could it be but true love? Maybe it was fate what made his father choose him to come to the coronation and meet the young princess.
Later that day, when the two were alone, he didn’t hesitate to propose right on the spot, even though it was the craziest move he could’ve done. Propose after meeting her that same day? His father would’ve thought he had gone bonkers -- you can imagine how shocked and overwhelmed he was when she said yes, a genuine and heartfelt yes. Hans thought nothing could ruin that evening.
Oh, how fate had different plans for him and everyone involved.
He never anticipated for the new queen to have any sort of magic abilities like he would so often read about in his fairytales. But she did, queen Elsa had power over ice and snow. Because of a misunderstanding, Anna’s frustrations and the evil intentions of the Duke of Weselton, her powers were exposed and everyone feared for the worst -- even he himself was unsure of how to feel at first. After Elsa ran away scared, Anna left the kingdom determined to find her and fix this mess, but not without leaving Hans in charge.
It was rough at first, trying to calm down the townsfolk as well as the other royal visitors currently stuck in Arendelle during the frozen winter in the middle of July. But he did his best, applying everything he has learned back home while adapting it to this current predicament. It worked well enough for the first hours.
When Anna’s horse returned but without its rider, his worries only increased. Dedicated to finding his bride-to-be, Hans formed a team of volunteering men to search for the princess and the queen. Hours later, he was surprised, once again, to find queen Elsa in what seemed to be a place of her creation: a palace made out of ice, truly magnificent. He was planning to reason with the queen and try to make her return to Arendelle peacefully, but those soldiers from Weselton ruined everything by scaring her and almost killing her.
The men returned to Arendelle with an unconscious Elsa. Hours later, Hans found himself with the queen, who was put in the dungeons and chained due to the worries of the other lords present. He pleased her to bring back summer, but she couldn’t. Unsure of what to do, he reassured her he would do anything to help her and returned to the comfort of the chimney. Not too long after that, Anna returned weaker than ever -- her hair was whiter than before and her body was freezing. Apparently, when anna tried to reason with Elsa, the queen accidentally froze her sister’s heart and now anna was slowly turning to ice, only to be told that an act of true love would thaw it.
The young couple stared at one another after being left alone. An act of true love... a kiss! If they kissed, she would be saved. Hans was extra careful while holding Anna, resting her against the sofa in the room that was near the chimney, all while cupping her cheek gently and smiling warmly at her. He leaned closer until his lips met hers in a closer embrace. They stayed like that for what it felt like an eternity... but neither felt anything, not a spark, not warmth, not anything. The kiss not only didn’t work, but both were dumbfounded by this revelation.
It took the help of a curious but strange talking snowman ( which shook him to no end ) for the lovebirds to realize their situation. What they thought was true love was not it -- it was a fling of the moment, a passionate desire for comfort and happiness while sharing it with another person, something both had wanted for years due to not getting any sort of love from their families. This didn’t make things awkward between them ( or at least not THAT awkward ); both knew the truth know.
Now their objective was to get Anna to Kristoff, her actual true love. Hans helped Anna get around the castle due to their weak form and her inability to walk in her current state. They reached the frozen fjörds, where Kristoff was also looking for her, but so were Elsa, the duke of Weselton and his men. Hans left anna so she would go with the blond man, while he grabbed his sword and tried his best to stop the men from killing the snow queen. However, they were three against one, two of them being much taller, bigger and stronger than him.
It all happened in a matter of seconds. The short Duke sneaked past him to strike Elsa, but then Anna stood in the way, using her last ounce of life to stop him while her body became ice. The ground shook as a wave hit everyone who was nearby. The scene was devastating to behold. Anna, who he had ground fond of and now realized she really was a good friend, stood frozen in the middle of the fjörds; Elsa hugged the statue devastated while sobbing her heart out.
No one anticipated the return of princess Anna. But it was that act of true love, the self-sacrifice she did for her sister what thawed her frozen heart. There was rejoicing all across the kingdom of Arendelle, its citizens and the lords visiting as Elsa brought back Summer.
A few days later, Hans was rewarded for his bravery and all the help he brought to Arendelle and the sister, despite the young prince insisting that he didn’t deserve anything while anna said otherwise. He was a hero, as much of a hero as Kristoff, the ice harvester, was. He and Elsa also were able to start again while building new relations between the kingdoms -- The Southern Isles and Arendelle would be their greatest allies.
Hans was content to have done a good deed and for some of his naïvete to have vanished thanks to this experience -- he’ll be careful in the matters of love, but still hopeful for a bright and loving future.
Note: Hella canon divergent. Mostly based on his personality pre-twist and first impressions from the trailers.

-----------------------------------------------
V001: Youngest of 13
Default main verse. Hans is the youngest child of the king and queen of Westergard and without any chance to get a claim to the throne, not without his 12 brothers being more favoured by his father in all ways possible. He is determined to stand out in any way possible without going against his moral compass, which includes forming better relations with other kingdoms and start having friends.
NOTE: Mostly takes place after the events of the first movie. I’ll have to see the sequel to see how I can work him into it.
V002: Working Towards a Better Life
Modern verse. As the youngest of 13 brothers, Hans was often ignored by his siblings and his father, only occasionally receiving a caring word from his mother and, if he was lucky, a full conversation with his father.
Currently, at the age of 23, he’s working to get a degree in History so he can become a professor in the subject -- history has always fascinated him, even as a child, so having the possibility to share this passion with a new generation made him happy. On top of that, Hans is also working on a novel during his free time. He also moved out of his home as soon as he was able and had the resources; at this point of his life, he didn’t want anything to do with his father’s company and connections ( not that he would get any of that ) and instead focus on making himself happy.

Ivy
Written in a retro Victorian stylie. It’s evocative of Emily Dickinson (& Sue/Austin). It's about a love triangle with a narrator, who is in love with a woman, this woman is also in a relationship with a man and will marry him.
Verse 1 (Remembering the beginning of how they met and setting the scene....)
The narrator is sad and grieving, reflecting on her situation. She tells us the whole story:
How's one to know? I'd meet you where the spirit meets the bones In a faith-forgotten land
How could i have known I’d meet my soulmate “where the spirit meets the bones”? [This is a line from a poem (Compassion by Miller Williams) - it means the deep emotional part of oneself].
The poem by Williams encourages compassion to all because you never know what’s going on in someone’s heart or soul that might be motivating their apparent inconsiderate behaviour.
Maybe this is the circumstance of the meeting of these two; the lover showed some compassion and saw a deeper hurt in the narrator, which touched her. They connected. Perhaps the narrator had lost faith in love or life (in a faith forgotten land).
In from the snow Your touch brought forth an incandescent glow Tarnished, but so grand
The muse thawed her emotions (like being brought in from snow) or perhaps it is literal, there was snow.
Snow is also a memory in atw10: I still remember the first fall of snow, and how it glistened as it fell. There is also snow globe imagery in lover (may be a reference to a certain stage performance is the allusion here).
She tells us ‘tarnished’ feelings were reignited and ‘glow’. Perhaps the narrator was hurt in the past so her heart was closed to love so these feelings were unused for a while. However, tarnished also implies stained or sullied - so are these also ‘wrong’ or repressed homosexual feelings? At any rate the feelings are/were ‘grand’ and ‘incandescent’. The narrator recognises the feeling of falling in love?...
(so that was how it started but now it’s over...)
And the old widow goes to the stone every day But I don't, I just sit here and wait Grieving for the living
Now she just sits sadly waiting.
A widow can visit a grave stone but she lost that muse and it feels like she died (she has disappeared from her life) but she cant visibly grieve like a widow because the lover is still alive and the love was secret.
(she recalls the beginning of the end...)
Oh, goddamn My pain fits in the palm of your freezing hand Taking mine but it's been promised to another Oh, I can't Stop you putting roots in my dreamland My house of stone, your ivy grows And now I'm covered in you
The lover took her hand in hers and told her she was now engaged to someone else. She felt this as physical pain like she had frozen her heart (think of Elsa freezing Anna’s heart for a very simple visual).
[Think of the bit-emoji (143. remember those days) a previous muse showed a heart can fit the palm of a hand, freezing or not...]
She still can’t stop dreaming about the muse, and is consumed by thoughts of her (ivy is very destructive - this metaphor is vivid and evokes the madness you can feel in losing ‘the one’).
Verse 2 (In these maddening consuming ivy dreams or in flashbacks she recalls....)
I wish to know The fatal flaw that makes you long to be Magnificently cursed He's in the room Your opal eyes are all I wish to see He wants what's only yours
Is this a visual from her dreamland or a flashback?
It seems to be about competition with the lover’s male suitor? She wanted to awaken the lovers fatal flaw (sapphic), the one that makes the lover desire to sin. ‘ He’ is there though, preventing them from becoming magnificently cursed (ie female lovers and/or in a relationship). She only wants to think of the lovers beautiful eyes but he is an ever present obstacle and he has his own sexual desires for the muse too. They are rivals.
Bridge (Fast forward: the affair and a failed escape...)
Clover blooms in the fields Spring breaks loose, the time is near What would he do if he found us out? Crescent moon, coast is clear Spring breaks loose, but so does fear He's gonna burn this house to the ground
They have an affair irrespective of the marriage plan and her jealousy (imagery of clover and spring). But it’s very stressful in case he finds out. The narrator thinks she has won her lover over and that they will escape together. The plan is all looking good (crescent moon coast is clear) but the lover takes fear and breaks off the affair fearing ‘he’ will become enraged, or perhaps he actually finds out and threatens to wreak havoc (burn this house). The muse capitulates, perhaps they both do.
Verse 3 (the denouement....)
How's one to know? I'd live and die for moments that we stole On begged and borrowed time
She reflects. Who knew this would end up with them clinging to borrowed moments together, that were like life and death to the narrator (it is an affair, she is the hidden other woman, while the muse retains the male love interest).
Perhaps this tenuous situation culminates in an ultimatum issued by the love interest after narrator complains OR it’s just a self realisation by the narrator about what’s implicitly being being asked of her.
Is this the ultimatum/realisation?...
So tell me to run Or dare to sit and watch what we'll become And drink my husband's wine
Choose to either “run” and leave the relationship (i.e. if it’s too painful to be on these terms of “begged and borrowed time”) or continue to tolerate this situ and be brave, dare to stay, as the muse demands, and “sit and watch” them become man and wife. Plus literally attend the wedding and drink hubby’s vino at the reception!
(what happened next...)
So yeah, it's a fire It's a goddamn blaze in the dark And you started it You started it So yeah, it's a war It's the goddamn fight of my life And you started it You started it
Conflict. She didn’t go with grace. The husband “burned down the house” ~ emotions of anger/jealousy/bitterness were unleashed on both sides and/or frantic attempts to win back the lover. It became a war, an existential threat, and the narrator thinks the muse started it.
outro...
Oh, I can't Stop you putting roots in my dreamland My house of stone, your ivy grows And now I'm covered in you Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh Now I'm covered in you In you
She still cannot stop thinking about the muse. Perhaps though, the ivy is destroying the house...

Selfish
“All witches are selfish, the Queen had said. But Tiffany’s Third Thoughts said: Then turn selfishness into a weapon! Make all things yours! Make other lives and dreams and hopes yours! Protect them! Save them! Bring them into the sheepfold! Walk the gale for them! Keep away the wolf! My dreams! My brother! My family! My land! My world! How dare you try to take these things, because they are mine! I have a duty!“
--Terry Pratchett, The Wee Free Men
Starscream has a few traits that stretch across various adaptations and mediums (I’m thinking G1, IDW, and the Aligned ‘Verse), but besides his cowardice (which I’m not certain is cowardice, merely self-preservation), one thing that Starscream is known for is for the fact that he is selfish.
I struggle with writing Starscream at times, because while I get how his wily mind works when it comes to politics and using people, when it comes to emotional responses I find him more difficult. I know I would respond and how Windblade would respond, but he’s something of a different country.
So the one thing I keep coming back to is his selfishness. I don’t think that selfishness is inherently a bad thing (not until your selfishness harms others), but I believe that Starscream’s self-absorption and selfishness was, for him, a defense mechanism. He couldn’t afford to have political ideals or a ‘cause’ when someone is as loathed and is as powerful as he is. He is willing to do what it takes to survive. That’s also what makes him such a wild card--he can be unpredictable except for how something affects him.
“Starscream cares for nothing and no one but himself.” Once that’s understood, that can be leveraged to get Starscream to go the way you wish as long as he feels it’s in his self-interest.
In frozen heart, part of Starscream’s arc is learning how to make his selfishness useful for more than just him. He is unmoved by the concept of ‘duty’ or ‘honor’, because had he been taken up by such things, he would have died several times over. But he must learn to take up his land and his people again, and defend them, not because it’s ‘the right thing to do’ or ‘his duty’, but because they are his and he will not tolerate a threat to anything that is his.
I have several issues with Frozen (which, admittedly, also has the lightest of touches of influence in this piece), but one of the smaller ones is that I think Elsa got over her anxiety too quickly. Yes, I understand that it’s a children’s film and it needed a conclusion tied up with a bow, but it was too easy.
The way I would have preferred to see it was that if love was the answer, then Elsa must learn to love her land and her people, and so the ice spell would have thawed off in sections as she learned to love the various regions and the people in it.
Starscream’s luckier--his land currently encompasses Iacon alone.
Starscream needs to learn how to accept Iacon and its surrounding land as part of himself for him to be devoted to its welfare. I can’t wait for all of you to see how it comes about.
