Alysanne Targaryen, second of her name, was the last living child born to King Viserys Targaryen and his first Wife, Aemma Arryn.  She had been born shortly after her Father ascended the Iron Throne after the death of his Grandfather, Jaehaerys Targaryen.  Throughout Alysanne's early life, she kept true to her namesake and behaved much like The Good Queen, treating everyone she passed by with a kindness that rivaled her Great–Grandmothers. But as she grew older and experienced the losses of her loved ones that resulted from the selfishness of her own house, she began to grow bitter and bloodthirsty for all that she has lost.  Her title of The Good Queen Come Again had shifted to Visenya Reborn.  And this is how it all unfolded.
———
Alysanne was only a girl of one and ten when she began to understand that she lived in a man's world. The young girl had known nothing of her place in the world nor did she truly comprehend her duties as the daughter to the King before then. The moment she realized that she would have to follow in the footsteps of all of her ancestors before had hit her full force when her eldest sister, Rhaenyra, was arranged to marry their cousin, Laenor Velaryon. From that moment forth, she realized the kind of value she held to the men around her and to her people, it all becoming more evident the minute Otto Hightower had moved on from mingling with Rhaenyra's life to hers. She was just a chess piece to play with and move around in this intricate game that many were hellbent on winning. Alysanne had no escape and nowhere to run, having no choice but to accept the cards Otto and her Father forced upon her from the moment she was deemed of age.
———
Upon reaching the age of seven and ten, Alysanne Targaryen was to be deemed of age to marry, much like her older sister before her. Even before her King Father announced that she was eligible for the taking, many suitors had sent their proposals to him regarding his young Alysanne. She truly was a beauty in the eyes of the people, something she must've inherited from her late Mother. But after many balls and parties that were thrown in her name and in the sake of her securing a good Husband for herself, she never agreed to a proposal. Her Father and Step–Grandsire began to grow impatient with the teen, resulting to arranging her own marriage after many failed attempts at doing so. It had been announced to all of the Seven Kingdoms that Lady Alysanne Targaryen was to be married to young Lord Cregan Stark once King Viserys made a decision on the suitable match for his daughter. Alysanne was determined to not succumb to the unsatisfactory life many of her ancestors before her had. But try as hard as she might, Cregan Stark was hard not to succumb to. The couple could give it their best to put on a facade and try with all the power they had within them to not let their forced alliance bring about any new feelings, but the heart always wins.
———
After hearing of the challenge to her nephews claim to the throne of Driftmark, Alysanne Targaryen had made her way to King's Landing in support of her sisters second born. She had arrived on dragonback, her loyal mount, Vermithor, thankful to be back in a warm place again. She had been happy to be back home after many moons of being away, basking in the warmth of the Red Keep and her family's open arms. But that happiness soon turned into fear as she began to witness her family tear themselves apart, greed and selfishness beginning to seep through the cracks of the unstable bearings holding them together. The foundation of House Targaryen began to shake once more, slowly but surely crumbling to the ground. And Alysanne would be the only one left to tell the tale.

Imagine Aelyra getting pregnant again at 50 (at the moment when Aemma is pregnant with Rhaenyra) and she dies at birth. Baelon who does not leave her side watches as she slowly dies and when his daughter (let’s call her Alysanne) is healthy, he gets drunk because he misses his Aelyra. Meanwhile, there is discussion about what happens to Alysanne II. Viserys wants to raise her as his daughter while Rhaenys wants to take her with him and raise her. Visenya wants to make her a warrior stronger and Daemon doesn’t want to lose his mother That’s why he wants the last of her with him.
Meanwhile, Alysanne and Jaehaerys fall into a hole because Aelyra is gone. Alysanne convinces to make Rhaenys an heir and the dance of the dragons does not take place around the Throne but stood around Alysanne II hand
oh god. alicent insists on marrying one of her sons to alysanne ii, she loved aelyra and was loved so much in return. would it not be the best?
rhaenyra and daemon both think that she's best by their sides, if she wishes to marry, luke and jace are both very capable and kind young men.
alysanne ii is rhaenys beloved sister so she insists that alysanne ii should be with her while visenya wants to take her to the north with her. its chaos.

93 AC Red Keep, King's Landing
„Mother, I do not understand why you are doing this! I do not need to re-marry I have two sons!” The spring Prince raised his voice at his mother, her disapproving expression tamed the anger bubbling in his chest.
“My love, Alyssa died nine years ago. I grieve my child's passing more than anyone. I have lost nine children Baelon, nine. I am happy that the god's gave me all of you and many grandchildren. But we have to continue our line. With more blood of the dragon our dynasty is secure. Me and your father are the prime example of that. Our house thrives thanks to our sacrifices.” The ailing Queen Alysanne responded hands tucked in front of her abdomen.
"What sacrifices?!” Baelon raised his voice "You love father and father loves you. That is no sacrifice! That’s your duty and you have fulfilled it because of the love you hold for each other. You married father despite the wishes of grandmother and the hand. I should be given that right.”
Alysanne sighed deeply and sat on the comfortable chair in her solar.
“I know you still love Alyssa and the gods were cruel to take her away. But Gael is different, she is... you know how she is. Gael will be happy with whatever you give her. But what you need to do is produce heirs, to ensure the safety of our house.”
„Mother I-" Baelon started but stopped, he sat on the queens bed. His large palms tangled in his silver hair. „I feel that if I marry Gael I am betraying Alyssa. Betraying her memory and what she means to me.”
The Queen looked with sadness in her eyes at her oldest surviving son. She sat next to the prince and took his hand in hers.
„Alyssa is resting with the seven. She looks from the heavens at you and your sons, I think she would understand. She was my smartest child after all.” Alysanne jested and Baelon let out a weak chuckle.
„I am build for the happiness or misery of our kingdom.” Baelon muttered after a long silence. The prince took a deep breath and nodded his head, he knows his mother is right. With Aemon’s death, he became the heir and to ensure his line survives he needs heirs. Despite his healthy children Viserys and Daemon, the gods were cruel.
“I will do as you wish mother.” Baelon whispered and kissed the wrinkled cheeks of his mother and departed from her solar.
„I know you will my love. I hate to see you miserable but dark times are approaching and we must do everything in our power to prevent that.” The good Queen said. „I hope you find some happiness with Gael.”
„What does she think of this?” Baelon finally thought of how his sister of five and ten must feel about this.
“Why don’t you ask her yourself?”
Baelon the brave nodded and left his mothers solar to search for his youngest sister. The winter child Gael was unlike any of her siblings, her head was in the clouds. Because of Alysanne's dependance on Gael the princess was very sheltered and kept away from court. She liked to embroider and draw, but her works were... disturbing. Gael drew and embroidered macabre scenes of dragons killing different creatures.
Princess Gael was sitting beneath the weirwood tree, her hands moving skillfully on the embroidered dragon. Baelon looked at the winter child with a pitiful gaze.
„Gael?” The spring prince asked, the girl did not move. He noticed that her lips moved and yet no sound came out. „Gael?” He asked again, moving closer.
Baelon gently touched his sisters shoulder, her head jolted upwards abandoning the embroidery.
„Oh, brother.” She whispered quickly resumed her task not looking at her brother. They sat in serene silence, he thought of his sister Daella. They were similar in a way, both sheltered and shy.
„What are you embroidering?” He asked.
„It is father's dragon.” She answered simply, but the drawing didn't show only Vermithor, it breathed golden fire upon a green army. A pregnant silence fell between the two of them. Baelon sat next to his sister, their shoulders touching.
„Gael… I wanted to ask you.” Baelon started „Are you happy?”
Gael looked up at her brother a confused expression on her delicate features.
„I don’t know.” She muttered „Mother is sad, so that makes me sad. She said I will be happy with you.” Baelon winced at the mention of their union. „I wonder... Viserra wanted to marry you but father and mother objected." Gael muttered her voice thin.
"Viserra did not want to marry me for love, she wanted to be Queen."
Viserra was very alike to Saera her elder sister. Both beautiful and bold but vain and cunning.
„I did not wish to marry Viserra, father and mother agreed that what she did was wrong. I hope you know that.” Baelon responded thinking of Viserra with guilt. Perhaps if he had acted differently during that fateful night she met a different fate. A happy life in White Harbor instead of a broken neck.
„I do not wish to be Queen.” Gael whispered looking up at her brother.
„I know” Baelon answered.
...
Gael stood before a mirror as a maid fixed her violet wedding dress. She picked at the skins of her fingers in nervousness.
“Child, stop that.” Queen Alysanne mused as she picked up on her daughters, nervous habit. “I know you are nervous but there is nothing to be nervous about. Your brother Baelon will treat you with utmost respect and you will be his queen someday. The greatest lady in the seven kingdoms.” The queen caressed her daughters pale cheek. Gael’s expression saddened, her hands trembling as she looked at her mother.
„Alyssa should be his Queen... Mother I-„ Gael began, she took a deep breath to calm her herself. „I dream of dragons.” She whispered, Queen Alysanne looked expectantly at her daughter expecting more.
„That’s natural daughter, you’re the blood of the dragon.”
„No mother you don’t understand!” Gael raised her voice, the Queen flinched. Her daughter has never raised her voice before. „These are no ordinary dragons, they’re beasts mother. They are not our dragons, none of them.”
„A nightmare my love.” Queen Alysanne whispered, caressing her daughters pale hands. „You are just nervous.”
Gael trapped the Queens’s hand in her own, with such strength Alysanne winced in pain. Scared eyes of the Queen searched for the calm orbs of her daughter only to find misty ones.
„Blood will flow.” Gael whispered letting go of her mother’s hands. Her eyes turned from misty to a bright violet, her breath steadied and she straightened herself.
The ceremony passed in a blur, the high Septon said the vows and the two Targaryen’s repeated. Baelon threw his cloth around Gael bringing the young girl into his protection. A chaste kiss followed and the crowd erupted in applause.
„It will be fine, Gael” Baelon whispered to his new sister-wife. „We’ll be okay.”
...
93 AC Dragonpit
Five months after the wedding of Gael and Baelon Targaryen the spring prince died of a burst belly in the tower of the hand. The princess pregnant with her first child wept bitterly at the pyre of her husband and brother. She caressed her swollen belly as she held her mother's hand.
They stood among the rest of their house, the King standing at the feet of the pyre of his son, the bronze fury overlooked from the hills.
“Dracarys” The wise king commanded, his steed lit the corpse of the prince with dragon fire. The stench of the burning flesh of her husband was enough for the young princess to expel the contents of her stomach.
...
“It’s been almost two morrows since her royal highness started the labour. She’s losing consciousness and blood, if the babe is not delivered soon it will die.” Maester Runciter informed the King and Queen of the delicate state of their daughter. Gael’s screams haunted the red keep, her voice sore from the hours of agonizing labour.
“What do you suggest we do?” The Queen said worried, the maester hesitated before speaking. “Seven hells, speak!”
“We would have to use the forceps to remove the babe from the canal, it may injure the infant but save it’s life” The maester muttered looking at his bloodied hands.
„And Gael?” Alysanne whispered staring daggers at the maester.
„If we act quickly and remove the babe from her belly she might live but we are not certain. She has lost blood and her body is weak.”
“Jaehaerys…” The queen wept clutching her husband’s hand. The king was pale with fear, another child would be lost but a grandchild could be gained. He looked at his wife and then at the maester.
“Do what you must..” The king ordered weakly.
Alysanne rushed to the chamber where her daughter was screaming in agony. The queen got on the bed caressing her daughters damp with sweat hair.
“Mama?” Gael whispered weakly, her hands strongly clasped her mother’s dress.
“Yes my sweet, it’s me.” Alysanne cried with a faint smile on her lips. She stroked her daughters cheek and kissed her forehead. Before she could raise her head Gael’s hand grabbed her hair. The winter child stared intently at her mother.
"The death of one gives an heir and god's beware she will bring despair. Red eyes with needle and thread change our death." Gael , absentmindedly whispered into the air, fear and anger boiling in her violet eyes.
Alysanne stared in shock at her daughter, it’s as if time stopped. She looked deeply into her daughters violet eyes. Her ears rang, the trance was interrupted when the cries of a babe reached her ears.
“A healthy girl, your grace.” The maester uttered holding the bloodied newborn. The midwife’s took the babe and swaddled it in fresh cloth.
The Queens attention turned towards the crying babe, as her gaze left her daughter, weak hands slipped from the queen. The princesses breath shallowed, her eyes turning misty. Gael lost consciousness.
“Gael? Gael!” The Queen screamed, her lungs burned. Worry overtaking her body. She cried, her hands clasping her daughter. Blood and sweat staining the queen’s blue dress.
"Your Grace, the princess is weak but she might recover. Only time will tell now." The master said checking Gael.
Outside the chambers king Jaehaerys and his offspring gathered around him. Gael's scream of pain and Alysanne's cries haunted the Red keep.
“Your grace ‘tis a girl.” A maid walked out of the chamber, her eyes glossy with tears. “The maester wishes to know the name.”
The old king stared at the infant, wisps of silver hair, thin brows, full cheeks and piercing red eyes. He caressed the ample cheek of the baby and in turn she giggled. The king smiled at his granddaughter, her little fingers wrapping around the bony finger of Jaehaerys.
“y/n” The King muttered.
...
The winter child suffered from childbed fever, her daughter y/n was born small but healthy. To prevent the infant from catching the illness she was taken to separate chambers. Maester Elysar visited the princesses chambers twice a day to change the wet rags that cooled her body and provided small doses of milk of the poppy to alleviate the pain.
Princess y/n was visited often by her kin. Her two half-brothers Viserys eight and ten and Daemon four and ten watched their little sister curiously. Viserys's wife of two years Aemma stood faithfully at his side. Their cousin Rhaenys one and twenty with her husband lord Corlys Velaryon watched the squirming child.
"Her eyes are red." Rhaenys stated staring at the little princess. Daemon picked the infant from her cradle and held her securely in his arms.
"Quite fascinating isn't it?" Viserys mused, the rest nodded.
"Has there even been a Targaryen with red eyes?" Aemma questioned caressing the chubby cheeks of her sister in law.
"None that I'm aware of." Corlys the eldest answered "I have never seen red eyes, not even in Essos."
"Perhaps the blood of old Valyria is strong in her." Daemon said rocking the infant in his arms, the child smiled gleefully.
"I do not think it is a good omen." Aemma whispered caressing her pregnant belly.
"An omen of what?" Daemon said quick to anger.
"I do not mean any insult good brother, it is just peculiar." The Arryn answered cautiously glancing at Daemon.
The King and Queen entered the nursery putting an end to the conversation.
"Your Graces" Lord Corys said bowing his head as the monarchs approached their grandchild.
"How is little y/n?" Jaehaerys asked taking the little princess from Daemon's arms.
"A true dragon grandsire." The prince answered, following his sister's every little move.
"Are there no eggs to be put in her cradle?" Alysanne questioned glancing over her kin.
"Not that I'm aware of grandmother." Viserys answered truthfully.
"She has no need for an egg my love." Jaehaerys interrupted his sister wife, his deep purple eyes focused on the princess in his arms. "One I pass she will mount Vermithor and take him as her steed."
The room fell silent after the King's statement. With peace and quiet princess y/n fell asleep and the room began to empty, Daemon was the last to leave.
Hours later Gael entered her daughter's nursery. Drenched in sweat her linen tunic clung to her body, long silver strands were stuck to her pale face. She approached her daughter's cradle and placed a kiss on her head.
"I am so sorry..." She whispered as her eyes were glued to her child. y/n slept comfortably as the cool air of spring chilled the stuffy room. Gael glanced at her daughter for the last time.
The waters of blackwater bay were cool, they brought comfort to Gael as she stepped into the water.
It was said that Princess Gael passed away from childbed fever. But that is only half true, after the death of King Jaehaerys and Queen Alysanne it was revealed that Gael suffering from fever she walked into Blackwater bay and drowned. Alysanne's youngest and most favored daughter, Gael, committed suicide in 95 AC. Gael's death broke Alysanne, for she had outlived all but two of her children. No longer able to bear living at King's Landing and the Red Keep, Alysanne returned to Dragonstone, where she had spent the happiest days of her life. Despite the sadness that overtook the court after princess Gael's passing the realm rejoiced over the fruit of her demise. -From the dragon bringer by the feather and quill of Grand Maester Roland.

Green stans finding their way into the Team Black tag trying to convince people that both Teams end up losing the war - Never not funny.
Please, read the book and try to understand that even though the Blacks didn’t win the way they expected to, they still won. They’re still standing. They actually exist.
The Dance ends with the Seven Kingdoms under the control of the Blacks (since the final battle of the war was won by them):
Aegon III Targaryen
Viserys II Targaryen
Baela Targaryen
Rhaena Targaryen
Alyn Velaryon
Cregan Stark
Jeyne Arryn
Kermit Tully
Corwyn Corbray
Black Aly
Benjicot Blackwood etc.
Where are the Greens in this whole scenario? Dead? Extinct? Cool. Justice. House Targaryen’s biggest mistake, corrected.
So, you TG stans finally get the picture? The Greens are history (not even that, since history doesn’t bother remembering them).

i love the way that a dragon's coloring is sometimes connected to its rider's family.
meraxes had silver scales and was ridden by rhaenys. rhaenys' son aenys had a dragon named quicksilver, and though we don't know her coloring, given her name and her pale white fire, it is probably silver as well. aenys' daughter alysanne had silverwing, described as a silvery dragon.
three generations of rulers who had silver she-dragons.
jaehaerys i rode vermithor, the bronze fury, and his son baelon the brave rode vhagar, who was described as bronze.
aemon and alyssa, brother and sister, both rode red dragons, caraxes and meleys, respectively.
rhaenyra has the yellow-gold syrax, and her son lucerys who rides arrax, described as having yellow fire and gold eyes and crest.
(could even connect this to aegon ii's sunfyre, who is golden and has pink membranes, matching to rhaenys' meleys and rhaena's morning, who is fully pink.)
helaena and daeron, also brother and sister, rode dreamfyre and tessarion, both blue dragons (although in different shades).
although we dont know his coloring, stormcloud, based on his name, was probably (dark) grey, which would match with the (light) grey color of seasmoke, who belonged to laenor, aegon iii's stepfather.
and of course, there is the connection between the conquerors' dragons balerion, meraxes and vhagar with dany's children drogon, viserion and rhaegal.

It is said that, when Prince Aegon found out that his mother rejected Princess Rhaenyra's proposal to marry him and Princess Alysanne, he raged for days and even locked himself in his chambers as a protest, ignoring his wife Helaena and his children even more.
After all, it wasn't much of a secret how intensively the Prince adored his oldest niece, with whom he used to spend all his free time roaming around the castle and whose permanent absence on the Red Keep drowned what little happiness he felt.
Even the Queen's father himself, Otto Hightower, verbally agreed that such marriage would've been strongly beneficial, but the Green Queen's hatred for Princess Rhaenyra ran so deep she didn't consider the political aspects of the union, instead focusing on keeping her children as far from Rhaenyra's blood as possible.

Let’s say Alysanne II is only 5 years old than Rhaenyra, what is the relationship between hers?
i feel like it could go either way. alysanne ii could like her niece and wish to help raise her and protect her or could very easily dislike her because of people saying that at least rhaenyra did not kill her mother like she (alysanne ii) did.
alysanne ii is a lot like aelyra, she has a very good grip on her temper but she's also very slow to forgive transgressions against her so the lords and ladies who spread rumors of her will never find a friend or ally in her. alysanne mainly finds enjoyment in reading and riding her dragon than being social, she dislikes large crowds and noisy places.

Who do you think showrunners might cut out of the plot in the future seasons? Many say Daeron, but G. R. R. Martin said that Daeron is in the show and they did not have time to include him yet. He is important for the Battles of the Tumbleton.
They've cut Kermit and Elmo Tully? The audacity! (not 100% but so far, we have cast for only Oscar, and he is heir?!!!)
Cregan Stark is there, they took their resources and established him as a character even though he is not prominent in the book until the very end. So that should mean Black Aly is a sure thing? But will they cut Bloody Ben? Seems unlikely, Aly can't possibly inherit Raventree if she is to marry Cregan.
What do you think?

If Jaehaerys was all about minimizing the power of Targaryen daughters but marrying them off to less-than-ideal suitors (love that idea), how do you think that applies to the match of Rhaenys and Corlys? Does it, even? Or does it need to, given expected Rhaenys's station at the time? He says she couldn't have picked a better man.
And, also, do you think this can be applied to Daemon's match with Rhea?
LETS DIG INNNN okay this got so longgggg but i was trying to be fair while also discussing like, so much sex crime-
So like the post said re: Alyssa & Baelon’s marriage, I think there's some interference from Alysanne here. Especially early on in their marriage, before she's made it clear that she can in fact live without his ass, I think we have several cases where he's ~indulging~ Alysanne's more romantic ideas about what ruling should look like and what being a targaryen should be about. Giving her wins that ultimately don’t cost him much (before she starts asking for things he doesn’t approve of).
I think by the time Rhaenys marries Corlys, Jaehaerys has already written her off as a potential heir, but if he denies her marriage to Corlys, that risks not only pissing off Corlys - who imo already has A Whole Thing about being Just As Valyrian As The Targaryens, so he will take offense - but also tips Alysanne off to the fact that he has no intention of letting the crown pass to Rhaenys or her sons. He knows this is a sore spot for her because she insisted that little Daenerys be considered crown princess and heir over Aemon, and Jaehaerys already brushed her off about that. So if he tries to marry Rhaenys off to like, a Tully who already has three heirs or some random Darry, Alysanne is going to argue that Rhaenys deserves a much loftier match given her status, and get really paranoid about why Rhaenys is getting a shitty match. I think he's trying to put off naming Baelon as his/Aemon’s heir for as long as possible because he knows it's going to be a fight, especially given that Alysanne is usually the one in charge of marriages, and this has precedent (that marriages are the Queen's domain - Visenya and Rhaenys made marriage matches as well).
But also. I think (and I can't believe I'm gonna do my man Ned dirty like this) that like Ned (bleh), Jaehaerys learns the "wrong lesson" from his sister. Rhaena married extremely beneath her and that caused major problems for her, so Jaehaerys is making sure that Rhaenys doesn't marry far beneath her as well. Because see, Rhaena spends much of her life miserable, without a direction in life, without even a castle to her name that she can hide out in. Everything that is hers is actually Jaehaerys' and it eats away at her until the day she dies. Beyond that, keeping Rhaena on as a guest is expensive because people want to see her, because she comes with her own household, and because she has a whole ass dragon that needs to be fed. So even if she wanted to live off the goodwill of others, that goodwill runs out quick due to logistics. She only gets Harrenhal because Maegor Towers is sickly and the last of his line, and even then, it's not really hers - it belongs to the crown.
I think Jaehaerys looked at how unhappy she was and what a huge pain in the ass it was, and figures he needs to give Rhaenys a consolation prize in a way he doesn’t need to give to the younger daughters, bc they never had a chance to inherit. Rhaenys has assumed the crown will pass if not to her then to her son, as has Alysanne, and I think its likely Aemon and Jocelyn also assumed that the crown would pass to Rhaenys' eventual son. Jaehaerys can’t just deny her all the trappings of being crown princess/mother to a king and expect her to take it lying down. And to be clear, I do think there’s some emotional aspect to this - I think he did feel guilty over stealing Rhaena’s crown and throne even if he felt he was doing it ~for the good of the realm bc Aegon had died. When Rhaena makes her “you are rhaenys i am visenya i have always known this” comment, she nails the dynamic, but I think Rhaena being the ~rejected bride~ does hurt Jaehaerys - she deserved, in his eyes, to grow old with their brother and have the power of a queen consort. BUT. At the same time, he’s a raging violent misogynist who believes Alysanne is the only exception to her gender, that it is simply right and natural that a woman only derives power from her husband. It’s why Baelon gets to claim Balerion when he’s young, but Alyssa is barred until her wedding. A dragon is a responsibility, a realm is a burden, and in his eyes Alyssa Velaryon, Rhaena, and Visenya all failed to live up to the challenge. So yes, he wants something good for Rhaenys - he wants her to have a happier life than Rhaena did, and he’s willing to gamble just like he did with the Baelon/Alyssa marriage, and indulge Rhaenys and Alysanne in giving her a dragon and a husband who could back her claim because she needs something to keep her calm when he inevitably usurps her, in contrast to the way Rhaena had absolutely nothing to distract her from her misery. And his gamble pays off is the thing - he neutralizes her dragon and her husband bc Corlys is off fighting still when the announcement is made, and Rhaenys is heavily pregnant and probably not really riding Meleys. He figured - bc of his love for Alyssa, Alysanne, and Rhaenys, however goddamn deranged and ultimately meaningless that love is - that he could move the pieces enough to get the outcome he thought was best and he was right!
For Daemon's part, I do think this is part of why Alysanne ships him off to the Vale yes. Notable to me that every marriage match does have a seat of their own, even if it's not an important one, unlike second son Androw Farman - Daella would have gotten the Eyrie, Viserra would have gotten White Harbor, and while none of Saera's matches were lofty they were all heirs with nice enough seats. But Daemon would run into a similar problem where it would be too expensive to keep him around if he marries some random noble lady living with her dad, but if he marries too high up that’s just as bad, so giving him an heiress and then kicking him the fuck out is a good way to deal with him.
BUT. I actually do have a conspiracy theory here that something happened at KL that caused a huge stir within the family and Alysanne dealt with it by shipping Daemon off. What happened? Well...obviously I think Viserys and Daemon got caught fucking lmao, I call myself a Visaemon truther for a reason. I do also think there's a chance that Alysanne suspected Daemon was fucking around with Gael as well - they're only a year apart, they grew up in King’s Landing together, Gael & Alysanne have been back at court a few years, Targaryens love to do that stuff, etc. I’m not saying he IS the father, the timeline is close enough that they could have fucked around but not close enough to have gotten her pregnant - he marries Rhea in 97 and Gael disappears from court in 99. But my other conspiracy about Jaehaerys being the father does kinda fit this too - that Alysanne noticed something was up but suspected the wrong man. I don't think Alysanne would ever want to even entertain the thought that Jaehaerys was raping one of her daughters, even if she realized what he had done to Alysanne herself was rape. Much easier to blame it on/suspect eternal Problem Child Daemon, especially if he's also being groomed by fucking Viserys; he's already an oversexed lecher who seduced gentle, married Viserys away from sweet Aemma, what else isn't he capable of? (and the double tap there of like, hypersexualization of bisexuality + Alysanne’s complete refusal to deal with how unhappy she is with Jaehaerys equals, to me, her constantly punishing her children and grandchildren because she can’t punish Jaehaerys, and proving this point to herself that she couldn’t have been manipulated into marrying him because look, her daughters are marrying the same way as well. And if she suspects even subconsciously that Jaehaerys is raping Gael? And punishes Daemon for ~seducing~ her poor sweet innocent Gael and stealing away Viserys from his sweet innocent wife Aemma? yeah that tracks with how she treats Saera and Viserra).
um tldr i think jaehaerys simply gambled that he could still control the situation when it came to defanging rhaenys, but also knew he couldn’t just give her nothing, if not for sentiment sake, then at least for logistics sake and to avoid a small rebellion, so when rhaenys & alysanne float the match, he can’t say no to it, so he just controls it. and i do think alysanne sent daemon off to the vale in part to defang him as well, yes, in addition to my not insane i’m right conspiracies about exactly what was cookin in king’s landing circa 97-99 ac (it was a lot of sex crimes, that’s what was cookin).
