Foods with PROTEIN in the title… . A client of mine just told me about what they were having for breakfast because they had extra protein. . Thats great but is it worth it? . I would say NO. Look at the nutritional breakdown on this protein cereal against this normal one. . You get an extra 8g of protein per 100g, but also get over 20g of extra sugar, less fibre and more salt. . Instead of picking cereal 1 for the extra protein, try adding a serving of healthy lentils to a meal in which you get an extra 12g without all the extra CRAP added too! . Don't believe advertising like this just because something says PROTEIN on the label, doesn’t mean it's healthy. Take a look at the ingredients and make smart choices. . #goodadvertisingbadproduct #addedproteinvsnatural #smartchoices #alwaysreadthelabel #protein #falsepromises #healthychoices #harrishealthandfitness #hhaf https://www.instagram.com/p/BzuqBMnpCDU/?igshid=upehzupxakrh

Sometimes you think you are being good getting a healthy drink, such as an ice-tea 😇 then you read the label and realise that it contains your daily total added sugar intake in a bottle 🤯 . Dam you smart advertising!! 😞 . #alwaysreadthelabel #sugarcalories #icetea (at Chelsea, Victoria, Australia) https://www.instagram.com/p/BoqtHX2FaE-/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=126y9g7na87dt

Whether I'm home, or travelling/out of routine, I always make sure to put my health and fitness first - especially #GutHealth! I simply add @life.space.probiotics to my morning routine to help support my immune system which are in convenient capsule form that don't require refrigeration #grabandgo👌They have added #choline which can support healthy liver function and assist with fat metabolism. 🔥 So easy to just throw in my bag and go! #LifeSpaceProbiotics #alwaysreadthelabel #useonlyasdirected http://bit.ly/2NDeCSS

Matcha tea. With coconut milk. Why? Because last night I saw a blog by @mind_body_bowl for a yummy looking chocolate mousse so I thought I would whip some up. I opened a tin of coconut milk and realised I had accidentally bought reduced fat. So I opened another. Same thing. So I opted for a coconut milk/water/cacao/strawberry smoothie. And had a lot of leftover 'reduced fat' coconut milk 😂 so I am going to use it in my matcha tea... For the next month 🙈 #AlwaysReadTheLabel I'll try the mousse again tonight thanks for the inspo Annie 👌

Love this new campaign from Food Standards Scotland: Always read the Label. I want it to be for better nutrition but this is to help shoppers best food poisoning. For example, a 35-year old woman found herself sick and off work after she ate a ready meal that was a couple of days past its Use-By date (a No-no). #AlwaysReadTheLabel

Bought a new hot sauce I hadn't tried yet and decided to eat it with my steak today (10 out of 10, would definitely recommend). Upon reading the ingredients however, I notice the phrase "may have an adverse effect on the activity and attention of children." ..........wtf?? Is the company implying that once your child tries this delicious sauce they will want to gluttonously guzzle it down, dunking mountains of food into its glorious golden depths, thus keeping them from their healthy recommended dose of daily physical activity? Are they suggesting that there are some questionable food additives that may or may not render my child incapable of controlling themselves in public (or perhaps causes them to want to misbehave)? Does it not affect adults?? I can honestly say I've never encountered a food label warning like this before.

"What the....?" - The day I discovered my almond milk was in actual fact sugar and water. SMH #vegan #processed #almondmilk #isitreallygoodforyou? Processed foods are not always the answer no matter how healthy they appear. Perhaps it is time to make my own. #alwaysreadthelabel

So I’ve been putting myself out there quite a bit lately. And I’ve got to say…
I am feeling the love!
I have received so much love and support that I never knew was there!
Each week, I get my husband to read my blog posts and he said to me on Friday, “I know you, but I want to keep reading to find out what happens next”. Sorry no more mushy gushy stuff over breakfast!
It’s just so nice to be getting so many compliments back - so thanks guys!
No seriously, I really mean it - thank you!
My aim with this blog is to inspire and uplift - but mostly, to challenge your current way of thinking. And it is working!
Here is another cliche for you (because I happen to love cliche quotes as you’ll soon realise) - ‘you get back what you put in’. Is she talking about Nutrigrain?
I am an introvert. (Definition: A shy, reticent person. A person predominantly concerned with their own thoughts and feelings rather than with external things.)
I am not embarrassed of this. I know who I am. And I know my weaknesses.
A couple of my weaknesses happen to be dwelling on the negatives (from time to time) and self doubt.
Yes, you guessed it - another quote for you.
‘The more you love your decisions, the less you need others to love them.’
This blog and your feedback has really helped me to realise how true this statement is. Pre-blog, my eyes were closed to the love and support that surrounded me. I didn’t feel it because I didn’t support myself.
Now that I’ve been putting love and positivity out there and getting it straight back, I’ve realised a few things…
Just because we are told to visualise what we want, doesn’t mean we have to negatively reinforce them.
I happen to really want my bikini body back. No, not a body that simply fits the bikini. The one that is uncharacteristically airbrushed and toned with a lifted booty and strangley large breasts. Yes, that one.
Is that realistic? No. Has it done any good for me? No.
So why do it to yourself?
I took a bit of time after I realised this to go through my Instagram and Facebook accounts to remove all of the negativity. It does nothing for my life but make me judge myself and feel awful that I look like a regular human.
This brings me back to my first cliche quote, getting back what you put in… 100% true.
You should definitely give it a go.
But be careful, it’s addictive.
Can’t say much about the benefits of Sugargrain though… I mean Nutrigrain.

I may or may not have handled poisonous chemicals today without necessary precautions (gloves/fumehood)... D'oh!
