[Reversed AU] - P.2
Hellsing (family) portraits.
it might not be visible in this but integra and alucard both wear red ribbons as hair tie
seras eyes’ colours are corresponding to alucard and integra’s eyes colours, they are on the right side and left side of seras, the angel and the devil on her shoulder
Because she is a nephilim, not a fully transformed angel, seras can only open one wing on her right side
Integra dressed as a nun of the church to avoid uncovering the existence of supernatural force to humans. She have human disguise to avoid hurting humans because her angel form is incomprehensible to humans.
The design of the Iscariots are not finished yet, but here’s yumikel. In this AU, enrico is an occultist and he’s the only human in the Iscariot team. Yumie is the “released restriction 0” form of yumiko.
yumiko have two coloured gloves, the black gloves represent yumie is the hand shes using for wielding the katana
another thing about heinkel as a werewolf, she cannot take full control over her werewolf form when she’s too excited, and her ears and tail often slip out when she is near yumi (both yumiko and yumie)
werewolf heal faster than human but is not regenerating like vampire so heinkel still have scars and most prominent is the scar on the sides of her face because she rip the skin there open everytime she shift halfway.

Alucard and Anderson fighting over you...
ok but Alucard and father Anderson both pining over the same person...
✧ If having an obsessive bloodthirsty vampire on your trail isn't bad enough, it appears you managed to capture another set of eyes... A set of eyes akin to madness.
✧ Alexander Anderson is puzzled; yet enthralled by your mere existence once he sees for himself the kindness you possess. The way you are so tender and kind to even the lowliest of hellspawn captures his attention. How you smile and treat the Draculina Seras with kindness, like she were a good friend, despite her dead heart and cold body. will earn you a prolonged stare from the towering man himself whenever you are within his presence.
He listens. He watches. Observing the way you confide within the young vampire, or flitter beneath Integra's steel Gaze- and especially how you seem to appear nonchalant despite being shrouded in the no-life kings shadow. It's curious to him, oh so very curious. It's Maddening to him.
✧ Who are you? What are you... You're nothing more than a fragile human, dear and earnest. You may have your obscurities and oddities, but at the end of the day, you're a little thing ensnared within the claws of hellsing.
✧ Through contemplative nights and long days of reading scripture and clutching his cross within his worn palms, he comes to a conclusion amidst a sleepless dream. An angel. You must be! How you exist in this cutthroat world is impossible, how else are you so full of light and joy? A sliver of heaven itself.
✧ Once he has found himself content with his conclusion, he grows frustrated with the fact that his rival- his dark contrasting other half, seems so infatuated. He has no business being so close to you- his mere presence is like an iron cage around a dove.
Father Anderson can see the no life kings obsession with you, the way this beast has formed this 'claim' to you, and it repulses him. To see such an innocent soul in the sights of a monster enrages him to no end. However he can only deny his own hypocrisy for so long. You too occupy a section of his thoughts and heart, often thinking of you in prayer and requesting the lord of your safety and wellbeing. The irony of being no different from the vampire vexes him so.
✧ They already butt heads, ready to tear one another limb from limb. Alucard is possessive and protective of you, and definitely doesn't like how his arch nemesis is hellbent on 'saving' you from the evil soulless beast that sunk its fangs into you.
Just the moment they are in the same room, all you can do is sigh and rub your temples- inbound by the fighting that's about to go down. Like wild alleycats. 'here we go...'.
✧ Father Anderson wishes strongly for you to remain with him, away from the vile twisted hands of Integra- and Ultimately out of the jaws of her bloody hound. You'd be safe in his residence; away from the cold stone hellsing manor walls and the shadows that occupy it. You'd have sunshine, warmth, safety. You'd have no reason to fear; no reason to hunger, nor thirst, nor shiver from the cold. The church will keep you safe within its Holy walls. You will remain a soft soul, kept away from the monsters.
✧ Prepare to be questioned by this vampire hunter whenever your paths cross. 'how are you? Are you being treated fairly? Are you sleeping and eating well? Are you happy?'. Please assure this man's every inquiry, for even a hesitant falter in your words or a deflated expression on your face will warrant an extreme reaction from him. (And by that, I mean he'll hail an onslaught of insults upon integra and her seething vampire). He's so keen to sweep you away, so he'll grasp at anything to justify it.
✧ As you can imagine, Alucard is not a fan of his rivals intrusive nature towards his human. His beloved. Blood red eyes will glare venomously at the priest as he speaks sweetly to you, wanting to laugh at his onslaught of questions. Are you sleeping well? Of course you are, he sees to it himself. Are you safe? The safest place is in the eye of the hurricane, after all. What foolish inquiries.
✧ I think ultimately when your personal safety is in danger, they'll reluctantly team up. They have the same goal in mind- to keep you alive. Perhaps a part in themselves will enjoy the partnership. The contrast of their existences somehow meshing perfectly together when they're doing something they both have their sights on. They're both unstoppable, impenetrable forces.
✧ Still, they see no other reason that they have to like each other. They still butt heads like possessive alley cats, spitting their snide remarks and wit towards one another like their hail of bullets and blades.
"Really? Now you Don't see me cowering in the shadows of her room watching her sleep. It's rather pitiful, don't you think?".
Alucard finds his taunts amusing. His grin widening at his rivals words, chuckling lowly at his snide remarks. Does this man honestly believe he has any shame? Any embarrassment when it comes to you? This all but frustrated Alexander more, hence the neverending cycle of aggression towards one another.
✧ The boisterous taunts will only ever earn a few array of reactions. Either alucard will give a sharp toothed grin and shamelessly agree with his own infatuation, or snarl and glare. It very much depends on what's said.
"Do you really think that an angel like her will want an evil, soulless creature like you?".
Any prods at Alucard himself are met with deep rumbling laughter and snarling grins. He cannot disagree, father Anderson speaks the truth. He is a monster. In fact, it's frustratingly amusing to him.
"And yet, she is mine. Funny, isn't it, father?".
✧ Him seeing Alucard as a tick in your side.
A disease that refuses to leave.
Nothing good comes out of having a vampire attached to you. It irks him to see an innocent soul in the clutches of the no life king.
The hostility between them turns sour, more intense. It's not just a battle between unstoppable forces anymore- with you thrown in the mix, it's a hellfire of bullets and blades. Father Anderson wants to save you, and Alucard wants this bothersome human to stay away from his human. As said before, they will reluctantly collaborate if it assures your safety- despite their own selfish desires to be your own hellish tormentor and divine protector. An immovable object, and an unstoppable force.
✧ Just know, that no matter who you choose to remain besides, the other will be just as infatuated and stubborn. You'll be caught in a whirlwind, a force you cannot escape nor fight. What will you do? Will you grace the monster with your gentleness, or will you fall into the arms of a mad saint? That power lies within your hands.
I find their dynamic so interesting, they're the opposite sides of the same coin. I'd love to hear anyone's interpretation or thoughts on them!!!

Paved With Good Intentions- ((Yandere!Anderson v Yandere!Alucard) x Fem!Reader)
Warnings; yandere, yandere vs yandere, consistent 'good v evil' juxtaposition, virgin reader, slight unhinged behavior, both Alucard and Anderson are monsters in some way obsessing over the equivalent of a pet human, objectification, vampires (it's Hellsing, there will be vampires), religious soldiers, blasphemy, angels, devils, blood, mention of violence,
~~~~~~~~
The road to eternal suffering is paved with good intentions.
It was good intentions that got you into the mess you were currently facing, and it was those good intentions that captured the attention of monsters. Most people were concerned only with their own benefit and that was where you differed from all of them.
You wanted to help people regardless of if they were good people or not, doing what you could to lend a hand to those that needed it. There were what seemed to be endless empty churches in the country side because so many people decided to move into the cities instead. It was in one of these abandoned churches that you set up a small hospital and grew various herbs to help the people that came to you.
Medicines were becoming more expensive and people could not afford to be treated with more modern methods. You didn't charge any money to those who came to you for help, nor did you demand they be repentant followers of God. With all the new branches of the church and the demand of being a certain religion to receive help, you decided to just help without that demand.
Of course, since you had moved into a church there was no small amount of visitors regarding the church, most of whom you sent on their way. From pastors to wandering priests looking for a place to preach their sermon, countless people showed up at your door looking to spread their 'doctrine' to whoever would listen. Regardless of how far out from London you were, it seems anyone trying to help drew endless attention.
Letters demanding you declare some kind of loyalty to one branch of Christianity or another were shredded and burned. People who were not seeking aid but seeking followers were sent away with more than an angry word or two. Anyone trying to cause problems or preach loudly about their ideals were kicked out and chased off by you. Even with the countless people causing problems, more showed up for help of some kind.
That was how you first encountered the two monsters that would stalk your waking world and nightmares.
~~~~~~~~
It wasn't anything new for subsects of churches to crop up around London, but one particular church stood out among others. Apparently people went to the church seeking healing of their afflictions and would leave speaking about an angel that took care of them. Some even claimed it was miraculous healing from God, which drew more than a few raised eyebrows.
After countless letters sent and no response given, members of Hellsing and Iscariot decided to drop in for a visit. Of course, neither of them planned in accordance with one another- the two factions hated each other- but by whatever play of fate, they wound up visiting at the same time. Naturally the two monsters Alucard and Anderson were eager to continue their fight and little was going to stop them from going at it.
With weapons drawn and teeth bared, the monsters prepared to tear into one another gleefully. At least, the planned to until a decidedly female voice broke through their concentration with unusual clarity.
"Stop!"
It was atypical that either monsters would be called off their quarry so easily, but something about the voice snapped through their minds and drew their eyes to the source of the sound. Standing at the large double doors of the old church was a woman who glared with a fiery fury at the pair that still had yet to lower their weapons. The onlookers were surprised to see this young woman march out and into the moonlight toward the pair of beasts. Where most only saw this (h/c) woman with smooth (c/s) flesh walking in a pure white dress, the monsters saw something else entirely.
Perhaps it was the fact that none of them were exactly human, or perhaps it was because they were such monsters, but they saw a startling truth. Beneath the moonlight they saw the halo cast above the head of the woman, large ruffled wings partially open and catching the light that filtered down in a dazzling display. Light lazily faded in and out of existence like fireflies blinking in the night as it danced around the woman.
"Enough! I would have gladly welcomed you all had you not begun a fight immediately in front of my home! Put your weapons down immediately."
The pair were at a loss for words as they stared with unblinking eyes at the frustrated woman that chastised them. Weapons were slowly lowered as either monster took the being standing before them into consideration.
Alucard, the monster vampire, was shocked. He was not used to seeing anything close to the depiction of an angel among humans. As far as he had been concerned, there was no such thing as an angel outside of the various holy scriptures. Yet it seemed an angel stood before him in all their glory, the scent of the warm blood flowing within their veins calling to the beast inside with a low and seductive croon.
Anderson, the holy abomination, was humbled. He knew angels existed among men and he even thought he had caught a glimpse of one before, but nothing like this. Before him stood one of God's heavenly warriors sent down to perform blessings on His behalf. It humbled and invigorated Anderson to stand before one of the divine soldiers after years of preaching to the masses.
The group on both sides were fascinated to see the pair of beasts react so oddly and out of their typical character. On one side of the divide, a young blonde spoke up, her blue eyes filled with confusion as she pointed a single finger at the woman.
"Why does she have wings?"
"Wait," Integra turned to Seras, "what?"
"That woman, she's got wings."
This made the onlookers glance back only to see the same that they saw before, a woman with unshakable resolve in a flowing white dress. It was enough of an oddity that they resolved to speak on it once out of earshot of the young woman who seemed none the wiser.
"Forgive them," the priest Anderson had come with spoke first, walking forward to address the woman, "it seems they have forgotten their manners. We are here-"
"I don't care why you are here unless you are seeking healing. I will not have my patients be ridiculed or judged for any reason or by anyone."
"My good lady, we are not here to judge. Just to know what branch of the church you operate under-"
"None of them. This church was abandoned by your people long ago and I have turned it into my hospital where anyone and everyone can seek medical aid regardless of what brand of poison they believe in on Sundays. If you are here to preach, you can leave now and not come back. If you are here for medical attention, you may come inside only if you leave this violent nonsense at the door."
With that, you turned on one heel and confidently walked back to the church, not even glancing behind you to see if the group was following. Where most saw your retreating back, the beasts saw your illustrious feathers ruffled by the wind as the wings settled down securely on your back.
~~~~~~~~
"You found a what?"
The shocked voice broke the silence that had hung over the group of clergy members who sat at attention. The pope and all living cardinals were present among the ranks but even they were stunned to hear the report from their holy monstrosity.
"A tried and true angel. My eyes can't be deceived as easily as most. Even that abhorrent Hellsing Vampire saw her for what she truly is. She doesn't seem aware of her divinity which leads me to believe she was sent to live among us humans as a human, but she is an angel regardless."
This caused a hushed murmur to escape over the group as the men present tried to come to terms with several things. Naturally, hearing an angel walked on the Earth among men bolstered their faith and encouraged the idea that God watched over them. Beyond the angelic being, the idea that a No-Life King was aware of such a holy creature was certainly a cause for concern.
"So enemies outside of the church know one of heaven's blessed has appeared. We need to keep this holy servant out of the hands of those heretics!"
There were several shouts of agreement from the group, the members of the clergy keen to keep such a divine gift from falling into the hands of heretics. An angel was a member of the heavenly order and should be protected at all costs regardless of who may die as a result. Any member of the church would happily give their life to protect one of the divine soldiers from the filth of the world. It was during this murmuring and light bouts of conversation that Father Anderson chose to speak.
"I believe I know how."
"How?"
"She is clearly a very devoted woman who tends to the infirm, but she is loyal beyond human standards. Were she to find herself wed to a suitor, she would no doubt be a loyal wife."
This caused an immense outbreak of whispers and questions to come from the group. It made sense, of course, to have the angel wed to one of the church's most loyal members, but there were still countless questions among them. All of these questions were murmured and whispered among the group, yet Anderson stood silently where he had been since the start of the congregation taking place.
"What holy soldier could possibly be worthy of such a task?"
"Could one among us ever hope to claim a lady of God?"
"What a blessing to see every side of such a beautiful divine being!"
It was then the Pope spoke, standing up and demanding the attention of those in the room. An immediate silence fell over the group as they all looked to the holiest among them for guidence.
"Enough! The answer is clear, as a loyal member of this church and a true follower of God, Father Anderson is the obvious choice. Who else could keep such a precious blessing safe?"
After a moment of consideration, several cardinals voiced their agreement with the decision of the pope. Even those who were not in agreement kept their opinion to themselves, knowing that they had no better option to propose instead.
A grin stretched across Father Anderson's face, knowing that he had basically been given the go ahead to claim that angel any way he wished. There were dark lustful feelings churning inside of him, but who could truly blame him? If he was to be bound and wed to an angel, he would certainly wish to consummate the betrothal and have his new wife in her rightful place beneath him. The thought of being able to defile and indulge in the succulent flesh of that angelic being was no small temptation.
"I gladly accept and will take that pure being of God into the safety of my arms so that darkness may never touch her."
~~~~~~~~
"What exactly did you both see?"
Integra questioned the two vampires standing before her about the odd events that had taken place. They had cautiously retreated for the time being to assess the new information they had been presented with. The first thing that needed to be addressed was what exactly the vampires saw, as Integra only saw a woman instead of the angel the vampires saw.
"Oh? Police girl saw the truth as well? She is a Draculina, but I had expected only Anderson and I to see."
Alucard had his ever present grin as he thought about the unusual being he and the members of Hellsing had come across. Certainly the angel was not an every day being as it was the first time Alucard had even seen such a creature. It interested him to know that Seras had also witnessed the angel, but it was likely due to being one of Alucard's coven.
"Like I said, I saw that woman who yelled at Master Alucard had wings. They were big and fluffy and it was like she had some kind of light above her."
Seras was understandably confused in the situation because it seemed like an angel would be a much more common occurrence especially since it involved the various branches of the church. She was only starting to realize that it was a big deal to see an angel and even her master had not seen such a being before despite his long lifespan.
Alucard spoke next, his voice the usual relaxed drawl, but now there was an edge of excitement that accented his voice. An angel meant countless vampires and humans would be clambering over one another to get at such a divine being. Having one live in Hellsing manor meant all the entertainment possible would be coming to him instead of him being sent out to find and eliminate.
"I truly didn't think any feathered servant would be able to stand on this blood stained soil, let alone live among the worst of humans. But that is what they are supposed to do, right? Lift up the poor sinners and cure the ailments of all, even the non believers. The police girl is correct, (y/n) did have wings with bright feathers. I would say they were white, but I believe they were clear and worked like a prism where light is refracted. Above the crown of her head was an obvious gathering of light, a halo that so many humans have failed to capture the likeness of. A true angel."
Integra hummed in contemplation, knowing that Alucard was likely the best source of information regarding the odd woman they encountered. Anything they could do to keep that divine being out of the reach of Iscariot would always be ideal. Of course, she needed to think about her next move while anticipating the next move of her enemy.
"Iscariot will be chomping at the bit to get their vile hands on her. Alucard," Integra's voice was stern and to the point, "if I send you to retrieve her, you must give your word to bring her back alive, understood?"
"Yes, my master."

Anonymous requested: "headcannons about Alucard and Alexander Anderson being in love with the same S/O?"
I was feeling more in the one-shot mood, so I hope you like this either way.
Alucard and Alexander Anderson Being in Love With The Same S/O
It started at the National Gallery, where you tagged along with Sir Integra, Walter, Seras and (you think?) Alucard. Tbh, he disappeared the moment you all stepped out of the limo, so you imagine the flirtatious vampire has wandered off to find a dark closet to rest in before being called upon when if things go awry.
Seras, too, leaves you three, mentioning something about “finding a good plan B”. Whatever the hell that meant.
So that just left you, Sir Integra, and Walter, to wander about the marble hallways of paintings, waiting for your invited company to arrive.
If only they would show up on time for once…
“What nuisances,” Integra grumbles, before turning to you. “Go see if you can weed the heretics out. I’m positive they are perusing the exhibit, purposefully wasting our time.”
“Of course, Sir,” you obey, bowing slightly before making your way through the maze-like museum. You imagine that whoever the has Iscariot sent to London; well, they must stick out of the average crowd.
Scanning the tourists for holy robes, uniforms, hell, even a gun or sword, you fail to spot anybody who could possibly be your tardy visitors. Eventually you resort to exploring the forbidden staff area, knowing that both Hellsing and the Iscariot have the pontifical balls to break simple rules. Opening many doors with obvious ‘DO NOT ENTER’ and ‘PRIVATE PROPERTY’ signs, but finding most of them locked, you sigh in disappointment, deciding to make your way back to your boss.
But then you spot a familiar head of blonde hair, exactly where she shouldn't be.
“Seras, is that you? What the hell are you doing back here?” you call to her, seeing the young vampire in an unfamiliar uniform. She gives you a cheeky smile and an awkward wave, before disappearing around a corner. Tailing her, you run back down the hall, only to turn the same corner and collide into what you could only assume to be a wall, solid and sturdy as you smack face first and begin fall to the ground. Startled and blurry-eyed, you prepare to break your fall before a very long and strong arm catches you around your shoulders.
“Woah there, friend. Are you alright?” an unfamiliar Irish-tongued man asks, lifting you back onto your feet. You rub your sore forehead, blinking your vision back to coherency before looking up…up...and up, to your human wall.
Christ, he’s tall.
“Haha, yes, indeed you can thank our lord and saviour for that.”
“Oh wow, did I say that out loud? I’m so sorry—” you spy the golden crucifix and clerical collar around his neck, “—Father. I shouldn’t have been running. I saw that my friend had gottn a bit lost and…well she’s gone now.” You huff in annoyance, knowing you’ll give Seras a good talking to later. She’s becoming far too much like her new master as of late.
“All is well, my dear. Actually, I have found me’self a bit lost as well; the museum is just so beautiful that I stumbled off course!” he laughs jovially.
You smile back, knowing you’ve found your man. “Actually, Father, you are just the person I’ve been looking for.” You lift your arm band slightly for the priest to see, telling him your name and position in the Hellsing Organization.
You see his cheerful smile damper a bit at the Hellsing insignia on your uniform, before quickly recovering. “I see. Father Alexander Anderson, at your service, my dear.” He bows his head towards you, “please call me Alexander. After all, you and I come from two very different clergies, I imagine.”
“A pleasure, Alexander. Although, I like to keep my faith ambiguous,” you add. “Sir Integra is waiting for you in the Sainsbury Wing, if you would please follow me.” You raise an arm in the direction out of the staff wing.
“What about your wee friend?”
“Oh, I’m sure she’ll find her way spontaneously back. Come, let’s not keep Sir waiting any longer, she can be quite the impatient woman.”
Alexander follows you back into the exhibits, making small talk along the way by commenting on the many displays. While a member of Iscariot, you discern Alexander to be a kind man with an eye for art. He tells you small sermons associated with some of the Italian pieces, amazing you with his theological knowledge, and letting him know so. You never imagined an enemy could be so enjoyable to talk to. But you suppose he’s only your enemy by association.
“I take it you are familiar with Hellsing’s pet vampire, dear?” he suddenly asks out of the blue, making you stop pause in surprise. His tone is pleasant, but his face tells something more. You recognize it as hidden disdain, masked behind innocent curiosity.
“Erm, yes, I am.” That was the understatement of the century. You have become more than a little familiar with Alucard over the years you’ve worked by Integra’s side. If you had to describe him in three words, it would be devious, coquettish, and handsy. He has made it more than clear that he has developed an attraction towards you, yet you have hesitated to return the handsome vampire’s advances in fear of getting played. Surely a creature of his stature could never have feelings for a human such as yourself, right? So, you’ve remained neutral, neither encouraging his inviting caresses and seductive words, nor pushing him away.
“We’re coworkers,” you affirm. “But I would not describe us as anything more, though Alucard can get a tad possessive,” you admit.
Alexander sighs with sympathy, suddenly draping an arm around your shoulders, just like he had when he caught you on your fall. He continues to lead you through the museum, not particularly focussed on finding your desired destination any time soon. “A shame. A pretty young soul such as yourself should never feel controlled by a vile monster.”
You purse your lips at the compliment, never hearing a man of the cloth make such a comment before, let alone towards yourself. His hand lowers from your shoulder to your middle back, pulling you gently ever-so-closer to his side.
“Just let me know if you ever need a delivering hand to aid you in a time of need, and the Lord shall answer your call,” he winks at you with a smile, making you giggle in disbelief.
“Father, are you flirting with me?” you ask with mock scepticism.
“Don’t ya worry, dear. I’m more than happy to look at the menu. It's ordering that’ll require a confession out of me. Or two.”
You giggle at his boldness, before the both of you hear an angry cry echo down the hallways.
“Anderson!”
Alexander frowns, before removing his arm from around you. “Please excuse me, my dear. It seems we have missed introductions.” He cracks his knuckles together, before two silver bayonets are unsheathed, seemingly out of nowhere. You gasp in shock as he stalks his way down the hall with a malicious grin on his face, sermons spilling from his mouth as he makes his way to his target.
You follow quickly behind, practically running to keep up with the tall priest. Down the hall you spot Sir Integra, Walter, and also Alucard with his gun’s raised, pointing them at the two other Iscariot members you missed in your search. You know this was going to lead to only one thing.
Alucard laughs maliciously. “Neither of us could ever back down in front of an enemy. Come on then, Judas priest!”
“What a coincidence. You won’t be so lucky this time, vampire. Do you enjoy playing with God’s most gifted children so?”
Jesus Christ on earth. “Stop!” both you and the silver-haired Iscariot member yell at the same time.
You see Alucard’s eyes widen as he catches you running behind from where Alexander had appeared. A scowl replaces his bloodthirsty smile. “What were you doing over there, Catholic? How dare you even breathe the same air as my beloved!”
“Beloved?” Alexander sneers. “How delusional! You really think this beautiful soul would ever be with a putrid demon such as yourself?”
“I’m ordering you to stop!” the Iscariot man repeats.
You've had enough of their cat fighting. You yourself between your quarrelling admirers and silently pray to God (or beg to Satan) that your new knights aren’t feeling as trigger-happy today.
“Hi! Right this way, everybody!” Seras practically yells into your ear, as a flock of elderly Japanese tourists stumble their way around you. “Everyone with the Japanese tour right this way, please! Kochira e dōzo!”
Seras' can-do attitude and smile is a welcome de-escalation of the tense situation. You only wish she had let you know beforehand, before deciding to run away.
Alucard fluidly moves his way through the murmuring crowd, grabs you by your waist and leads you back behind Sir Integra and Walter, much to Alexander’s detestation.
“What were you doing with him?” Alucard glowers.
“I was doing my job, since you decided to disappear," you huff.
“I was making sure the area was safe, for your and my master’s protection. Don’t you know who that priest is? He’s just as much a monster as I. I won’t allow him to go near you again.”
“And what makes your attitude any different from his? How is that any of your business? ” you glare back, not pleased with being pulled around so much today.
Alucard lowers to your level, getting in your face. “You are my business. You are mine.”
“That’s where you’re wrong, monster.” Alexander approaches from behind you both, bayonets thankfully gone from his hands. “I think the dear knows the path they walk, and it is not beside you.”
Alucard turns with a hiss, prepared to start the fight anew when it was your heart on the line. Hell, you know Alucard wouldn’t hesitate to bring about WW3 for you.
You stomp your foot on the ground in frustration. “I don’t need either of you to speak on my behalf. The path I walk is my choice alone, and at this moment, it’s away from both of you pompous idiots!” you yell, before turning on your heel towards the pavilion to prepare it for Integra’s meeting. Both of the men look at your back with marvel, before glaring at one another.
Maybe a war really was about to begin?

It's really annoying when discourse blows up, and it's about something you agree it's stupid, but the people involved are even dumber than the discourse itself
The other day a tweet exploded, and it was someone praising the scene in NFCV S4 when Trevor explained that crosses make all vampires freak out regardless of their faith because geometrical shapes "confuse the shit out of their brains". Tons of people have reunited to complain about how idiotic this scene is, which of course attracted defensors too. No one is right :')
"muh religion, muh wokeness, the games were always pro-christianity" no, no, shut up, this is not Netflix being woke, this is Ellis being an edgy atheist at most. Christianity won't collapse because of one small badly written scene. The games treat the Church (which is different from the religion) in a more neutral way, and even then it's mostly about the aesthetic. The Church has taken Sypha in in the same way they have forbidden Leon from pursuing Sara because he had to fight the Crusades. It's complicated, and I like that it's not black and white, but it's outside of this discussion. And you know what, "Dracula's Curse opens up with Trevor praying in front of a cross" is a shallow argument, because by S4 it's clear that the show couldn't give a single shit about the games.
"well maybe Trevor was wrong! Even vampires themselves don't know what kills them" oh yes sure let's make Trevor even less important than he already is! His role in the gang is pretty much being the loremaster, because dude was trained to be a vampire hunter and if there's anyone who should know how vampire weaknesses work, it's him!
Also this usually comes in junction with praising the scene in S2 where Carmilla and Godbrand argue on whether running water kills vampires. As much of a waste of time that scene is, because the pacing of this show sucks ass, at least there is a small payoff! When Carmilla decides it's time to take the castle, she chooses to sanctify the river to make sure to kill the guards - maybe running water doesn't hurt vampires, but holy water surely does.
Which. It's another unfathomably stupid scene, because there is no fucking way the reanimated corpse of a bishop controlled by a guy who used to serve a genocidial monster and who is now aiding another monster who plans to enslave humanity would receive God's approval. But there you go! Holy water is a thing in this setting! And it was established, way back in S1, that it's due to God aiding the goodhearted! Because Trevor asks a good priest to sanctify water to fight monsters! There is also that whole scene of Blue Fangs getting in the Bishop's face and teling him "God exists and you make Him puke", unless now that scene isn't valid because a demon says it.
Trevor uses a consecrated whip! He used holy water! He recommended salt against night creatures! It's common knowledge that sun burns vampires! But crosses is where he pulls out a scientific explanation to answer the question "what about non-Christian vampires"? Fucking Nocturne had a better answer for it, when the non-Christian Annette used Vaublanc's faith to trap him in a cage of crosses! Nocturne!
And if it was meant to be wrong, or just funny... why even bother? That scene then doesn't add anything to the worldbuilding and plot. I don't care about muh realism when the pacing is already out of wack.
(others have also pointed out that if that were true, Alucard should freak out everytime he swings his own sword lol. So it really is completely wrong and a waste of the VA's voice)
"wah wah it doesn't ruin the games it ain't that deep" you know what? true. This is a very small exchange that really didn't deserve the attention it got (I personally got much angrier at the blessing zombie lol). It only got attention because dudebro grifters latched onto it for their agenda that muh wokeness is destroying society - and I know it's them because look hard enough in their responses, and you'll see the usual complaints about Isaac being black.
The show is always criticized for stupid shit like muh religion and muh swearing and "they ignored Grant, literally unwatchable" (all my respect to Grant, but look at me and tell me you want him to become a caricature of himself like Trevor), which aids its fans in thinking all the people who hate the show are nitpicky and whiny at best and bigots at worst. No one ever points out the much more serious issues like sloppy worldbuilding, idiot plots, character favoritism, cynical edginess bordering on meanspiritedness, classism and xenophobia, rape apologism, etc.
I guess genuine discussion wouldn't trend on Twitter :\

When you find yourself stuck between two evils, a vampire trying to kill you, and a vampire trying to hunt that vampire; you're not sure how you got here.
Alucard's gun fires and you feel the familiar pain in your chest- and then you jolt awake.
These nightmares have been popping up a lot lately. Of the day you met Alucard, your master. You jolt again when you meet a familiar dark presence lurking in the corner of the room.
"Master?" You ask softly, and Alucard's tall and dark figure approaches you.
"I know you haven't been sleeping well, mortal girl", he states the obvious as he reaches the table and sits down. The ice bucket with a single pack of blood still sits there, untouched by you.
You sigh and help yourself off the bed, taking a seat across from Alucard. "And you're not eating" he states the obvious yet again.
"I'm immortal now, remember?" You respond with a bit of an attitude but you forget Alucard is quite sassy himself. "Won't be for long if you don't eat" he snarks as a response.
You knew he was right, but you never wanted to go on admitting that. Another sigh leaves you as you sit back in the chair.
Alucard narrows his eyes at you before removing his tinted glasses and hat. You always forget how hauntingly beautiful this undead man is. Leading to you forgetting the way your face feels warm when he speaks to you like this, in such a personal manner.
"Listen, police girl, you have to consume blood eventually. Whether you like the idea or not, it's not avoidable" he explains, trying to be blunt but also reason with his prodigy. He knows this isn't ideal for you, nor him either. But he has no hard feelings for you, he never wants to see you hurt because of him. He kills horrid vampires, and cruel beings, and maybe sometimes whatever interests him is a good fight. Outside of that, his interests are beyond even your imagination of what he wants.
"I know, Alucard. But it's just... I know what I am, but I feel like a monster. I just can't get past that." You try to explain but find yourself frustrated in trying.
"Police girl, we are monsters. There's no denying any part of that. Do you think me a monster, an awful person, darling?" He asks as a casual smirk plays on his lips, showing his fangs a bit.
"Mm... You are a monster, master. But I do not think you are awful. You help innocent people in your own way and you protect Integra and me..." You respond as you feel the scar on your throat from that damned priest's knife.
Alucard lets out a sound of acceptance as a response before he speaks "Then there's your answer. You watched me drink from that journalist woman, you know my nature as well as you know yours. You just won't commit to yours." He explains before he holds out a gloved hand, motioning to the blood packet in front of him. "Do you need me to feed you for God's sake, darling?" He says in a mocking manner with a laugh. Though you wouldn't mind that, and your silence prompts him to get that memo a little too quickly.
Alucard chuckles, as he picks up the blood packet from the ice.
"Always have to watch after you. Such a clumsy girl you are, darling. Not that I mind, it does add some interest to my immortal torment." He adds a smirk before opening the blood packet. You're unsure of what to say when he gets like this; you just sit there with your face continuing to feel warmer by the second.
Alucard pours a bit of the blood into his mouth, getting a taste for it. It's not quite his style, considering he much prefers something fresh, but he'll manage for his prodigy.
Alucard stands from his seat, stalking over to you. You already had a feeling you knew what he was gonna do, and you weren't against it in the slightest bit.
"Do you want my help, darling?" He asks in one of his gentler tones that you can hardly believe he manages. It doesn't take you long to utter a small yes as a response.
Alucard finishes put the blood packet into his mouth before leaning down and kissing him deeply. His long tongue slips into your mouth as you taste the blood he drank. You swallowed without a second thought for once.
Alucard pulls off one of his gloves and gently holds your chin, making sure you don't spill any. You feel your breath hitch as you finish drinking the blood from Alucard's mouth. But he hasn't pulled away yet.
His tongue is still slipping against yours, making you almost drool. You find yourself tangling a hand into his long, black hair, needing to ground yourself on something.
You swear you hear him groan as he finally pulls away, a string of saliva following his tongue as it leaves your mouth.
He composes himself, you're not even sure how to compose yourself from that.
"Good girl" he praises you, as he pulls his gloves back on.
"Um... Thank you, master" you muttered, still embarrassed and unsure of what to say to that. Alucard smirks and chuckles a little at your flustered response.
"Take care of yourself, police girl" was his only response before he disappeared into a black void.
Leaving you flustered and partially confused, you just made out with a centuries-possibly old vampire...

Defend your Blorbo entry
Okay, I have questions about Dracula from Castlevania. I know he's attractive if you like them tall, dark and handsome. I know the Catholic Church deserved it, but what about everyone else? What about Alucard? Did he deserve it? Are we going to justify genocide? Because The Catholic Church was horrible, and he was a good husband. I'm just curious because the amount of thirst I see for Dracula makes me concerned. He may have been a good husband, but he was a terrible father. The Catholic Church may have had it coming, but what about the innocent villagers? People are justifying genocide because he was a good husband, and everyone hates priests. So, can someone explain why this is okay?
Defend Your Blurbo #9
Please remember this post is about curiosity and genuine fandom discourse. Be kind with your answers because this is not a debate essay, this is a discussion between fans.
For those who haven't watched Netflix Castlevania, you definitely should. It was an excellent show, this is Dracula
And to partially answer the anon's question, He is ungodly hot in every scene, and Tumblr has a habit of excusing just about anything when dealing with a hot villain
So Castlevania fans, Defend your Blorbo. This should be a fun one since this is our first major villain

Clothing in Castlevania: Yellow vs Purple
Every Castlevania character has their clothing color scheme. With Trevor, it was reds and browns and then later black, red, and gold. Sypha's was white and blue. Alucard's was black and gold. In the Official Artbook, it says this was done to preserve some elements of their original video game designs. We can see they kept this change with Richter (blue) and Maria (pink.)
But Annette's original design wore a mostly green dress with some yellow accents, not a yellow one. It's a harmless change, of course, and it might just be a bid to completely remake her character, but I do wonder if there's more significance at play here because green was not forgotten by Nocturne. Annette says her favorite color is green, which I think is a very tiny, subtle callback to her old design while independently preserving her new look.
At first, I thought it might be in reference to her ancestor god Ogun, but from what I can find, his sacred colors are green and black, red, or sometimes blue, according to different regions. (As far as I understand.) So the significance for Annette's clothing change isn't here.
The answer, I think, partially lies with Olrox.
Yellow in general is often regarded as a positive color, representing success, a bright future, happiness, and optimism. It's also used to represent the sun just about universally around the world. Definitely a good choice for a protagonist and it also holds significance for the season finale as the ending is the sun literally going dark.
As for Olrox, his clothing color scheme is purple, same as the video games. This also fits his background in Nocturne as purple was regarded as a divine color by the Aztecs, reserved for priests and the nobility. A good choice for a powerful vampire.
So while the positivity and representation of the sun may hold true for Annette's yellow, I also want to point out that yellow is the polar opposite of purple on the color wheel. Maybe the color scheme choices for Annette and Olrox were intended to play off each other with Richter as the fulcrum between the two: Olrox's purple as Richter's dark past and Annette's yellow as the possibility of a brighter future.

The Church in Castlevania
Okay, folks, I need to get this out of my system. Because this is always such a bad faith argument and... yeah, I just need to get that out there.
Now, I think most of us can agree that a lot of the game fans, who hate on the series, are just... looking for reasons to hate on it. Because in this time and age it is apparenting not just okay for people to say: "This wasn't for me" and move on. No, folks need to make up reasons why actually the thing they don't like is the worst thing ever.
In terms of Castlevania that comes with people idealizing the games (and quick reminder: I like most of the games, but... their storytelling is still very lackluster) and of course making up issues with that.
And one of the made-up hate reasons they found is how the church and religion are depicted.
They will claim: "Religion is a force of good and such an important part of the games and the Netflix series made religion a bad thing!"
And I am sorry. This is bullshit. Especially as someone who has been raised Catholic - aka the flavor of Christianity that Castlevania features.
Let me explain.
How the Games depict Catholicism
Now, I am no longer Catholic. Because of all the bullshit the Catholic church did to kids, and also their stand towards queer people. But I can tell you: If I still was Catholic, I would probably be offended at the games.
Look, this is how religious characters like priests and nuns look in the games.
And, I am sorry, this is all bad.
Now, let me start with Tera, because she is probably the least offensive in there. Because her dress per se is alright. That is what a habit of a nun would look like. Most probably St. Thomas or Ursuline. But... there is one glaring issue: She is not wearing a head scarf. And that is an important part of being a nun. Like, really. nuns are usually allowed to drop the rest of their habbit. If you live somewhere with an abby (or go to a school where nuns are the teachers like me) you might see nuns running around in normal clothing... But never without their headscarf. The hair has to be covered. It is kinda part of the point.
Next up would be Vincent. And that dress is just like... Okay, I am gonna give them some points for giving him the right hair style that would made him Capucian. But the rest of his design? What is even going on there? That is not Catholic, that is just some fantasy priest design. It absolutely makes no sense. Even less so under the entire "well, technically he should be a monk" idea. The design is bad. Really bad.
And then we have the nameless Priest of Moonlight Rhapsody. Who... looks like you crossed a Capucian monk with a freaking druid?! Like... What?!
Not to mention, of course, that while Sypha in the games is not technically a nun (though she hides as one) she hides as one and also is said to have a close tie to religion, being a woman of faith and all of that.
Now, the CV3 design is not even that offensive.
Like, sure, the blue is a bit weird, but... You know what? Hair is covered. The clothing is very conceiling. Yeah. It is not ideal from a Catholic point of view. So, that is okay.
But then we have the Castlevania Judgement design.
And... Do I really have to explain why this design is offensive on so many levels?
Like, you cannot just put a female character in this super sexy outfit, put so many fucking crosses on it and then go like: "Yay, religious character!"
Ironically the character who has the best religious design in the games is fucking Zead.
Outsie of that, let us look how religion gets depicted within the text... Well, no, let's not do that, because it isn't. Religion is not there in the text. At all. Because it is just a purely aesthetic thing that happens within the games. Charakters have religious affiliations, you will regularly find a chapelle in Dracula's castle with all the pretty stained glass and all that. But... It is not really there.
I think Alucard is a very good example of this. In Japanese artwork he gets depicted with a rosary or cruzifix from time to time. Like on the cover of Symphony of the Night.
But there is nothing religious about how he acts. There is no prayers. Nothing in terms of how he speaks. Really nothing. It is nothing but an aesthetic.
And... that is basically the whole thing going on with the games.
The thing folks miss, when it comes to the depiction of Christianity in the games, is that the games are first and foremost Japanese games made by Japanese games for a Japanese market. And in Japan only 1.5% of all people are Christian. And to Japanese people, Christianity is a very exotic. It is about as exotic as Shintoism is to European and American people. So, the Christianity within the games is very much that. It is basically the same like an American game in which some characters run around with Kitsune masks, or where you run through a shrine with nice torii in front.
Is it offensive in a horrible way? No. Or not that much, and be it just because Christians over here love to feel offended, but actually rarely are because they are the majority. It isn't that bad. But is it a good depiction? No, definitely not.
How Religion gets portrayed in the Castlevania series
So, let me talk about how the series - both the one from 2017 and now Nocturne portray Christianity and how this is related to their historical contexts. Now, let me first get one thing out of the way. The bishop and the Catholic church.
Yes, the bishop is clearly wearing the vestments of a Catholic bishop. Stylized, yes, but this is clearly Catholic vestments. And I have no heard several people claim that this is ahistoric because of Romania in general being mostly Eastern Orthodox.
But here is the big issue with that is, that... Yeah, Eastern Orthodoxy started to spread in Wallachia about a hundred years early. And it was from all we can say (look, there is little of written information that survived on the exact distribution). And I will not do it to you and myself to go deeper into the entire chasm between the Orthodox and the Catholic church.
Something that just needs to be said: The late 15th and the early 16th century in this area was a lot of religious turmoil. Which also had to do with the one historical detail that is not quite adressed in the show: Wallachia was just at the border to the Ottoman Empire, who tried to conquer Europe from there. (Again, the entire historical Vlad Tepes was so closely tied to that story. He got killed by the Ottomans in 1476.)
But that is also the aspect the show rightly brings in in one regard.
See, generally speaking one of the reasons that we got the Spanish Inquisition (which, again, was not about witches!) and the witch hunts just after the middle ages ended, so in the late 15th century was the conflict within the Church. There were suddenly several Christian religions and they were in conflict with each other and with that came a lot more push for the Churches to have power. The witch hunts were a way for them to clear up their power.
And yeah, that was a horrible thing they did. But... it is historically accurate. In fact, I would find it kinda offensive to look at the church of this time and show them as these nice people. Because that is kinda fucking with the pain and trauma of all those killed in the name of the church.
Now, Sala and his men are clearly Eastern Orthodox. While the clothing is not an exact match, the stuff they wear and also how they wear their hair and what not... That is Eastern Orthodox design.
Admittedly, the Priory is a but... bland for that. The Priory looks almost like Protestant. But than again it is a priory in a little town, so I guess it is somewhat understandable that it is not quite as fancy as Orthodox churches would be.
When it comes to the depiction of them... Well, I mean, they are not crazy because of their religion, they are crazy because somehow the night creature has brainwashed them.
That is honestly all I have to say.
And yeah, of course I should mention that we have of course Isaac there, who is a very religious character and who, in the very end, also gets depicted in a more positive light.
Now, compared to the original show Nocturne put in a TON MORE research when it comes to the depiction of the religious folks. Because while I do not consider the depiction in the original show as wrong, there is also not a ton of nuance and neither is there a lot of... details in there.
And compared to that we have now Nocturne and they just get the Knights Hospitaller so right. As well as their role within the revolution and all that. And... you know what? I am just gonna leave this blog here, where I went more into all of that.
But yeah, the entire thing is, that... in the games, Christianity is just an aesthetic. There is no substance to it. It is just to make the setting and the characters more exotic from a Japanese perspective. Meanwhile the show, which is mainly producted for a western audience, is more aware of the historical context it is set in and what role the Church took in it.

Finished S1 of Castlevania Nocturne! I gotta say, that one vampire wife of the Marquis who kept his head around was the funniest character in the entire show so far.
In all seriousness, Alucard!!! I was wondering when he'd show up and by the time he did, I'd completely forgotten and thought it was Olrox who saved Richter from Drolta! Speaking of Drolta, she dresses very similar to the Succubus from Symphony of the Night, and even has a similar attack where she spreads out her wings, and sharp tendrils emerge from them; Plus with Alucard being the one to kill her, I'm just gonna treat her as the Succubus. RIP Queen you were a good one.
Does anyone else think Emmanuel is Shaft? He looks like Shaft, he's an evil priest, he's working for an evil vampire, him being human makes him necessary to pull souls from hell. That forgemaster contraption kinda reminds me of that weird orb-thing his ghost fights with in Symphony of the Night...
Speaking of that! Olrox muses on the demon that Emmanuel made a deal with to create that machine, and because of its creator, it's indestructible. Could this be pointing towards Galamoth as the final enemy of the show; He's the hardest boss of Symphony of the Night, Alucard has just shown up, and the two technically fought in... Kid Dracula. Where he was also the final boss for Alucard. The demon might just be Death, but then he's described as an elemental spirit.
I'm also curious as to how Edouard's story will turn out! Between him and Jacques and the Night Creature with a suspicious amount of mouths (as Bathory noted), the show seems to be going back to the whole idea of Night Creatures remembering their humanity and being rehabilitated. Which just begs the question of what happened to Isaac's kingdom of Styria, meant to be a place for Night Creatures to heal? Will we see that come back for Edouard? Isaac was once a slave himself, just as Annette was, so seeing all three come together would be wonderful! It's poetic, as Night Creatures are literally dehumanized slaves, so seeing Isaac, as well as Edouard (someone who helped liberate slaves) resonate with them works.
I wonder if we'll see the Moth Princess from Bloodlines; She's the penultimate boss, and Bathory had her starring role in that game. She looks human enough, but she's probably a vampire, so it'd be easy to adapt her as another lieutenant, especially in the wake of Drolta's death.
DAYUM Olrox and Mizrak! Firstly I'm glad they made Olrox turn into a green reptile monster like in the games... I was joking about the more comfortable place to meet being a bed, but holy shit it actually happened. I love all the references to Olrox's game lore, like his skulls and floating around... Here's hoping we get to see him dramatically unfold his legs in a chair, and then stand up!
I had a lot of fun; Richter was great, Maria was adorable and she is my precious child and I love her so much!!! I love her turtle and I hope we get to see her summon a whole-ass dragon as her most powerful spell, something like that.
I wonder how Emmanuel will go from here, if he's meant to be Shaft; Will he dive into full villainy, or will he be like Isaac, in that his show counterpart will have a happier ending? As Tera said, Emmanuel got his ram; Could it lead to him developing a messiah complex, thinking God rewarded him for his faith? Or will he know better? If he's Shaft, I better see him throw some... *snrk*... balls.
And did anyone else find the Night Creatures in this season to be particularly horny? Like that one moth girl who looks like a monsterfucker's OC, I mean I'm not complaining! Is this just a creative decision by the animators or does Emmanuel have anything he wants to share with the class... It all started with Abel it seems.
AND JUSTE!!! I managed to guess it; The white hair always made me wonder how Juste might be adapted, hypothetically, so it seems the show just portrays him as an old man for that! When he took Richter's whip, I had my suspicions and made the hair connection, it was wonderful... And they referenced Lydie and Maxim!!! Unfortunately it was yet another tragic ending for a Belmont... Man, what happened to the previous season's ending suggesting a happier route, only for us to go back to a "Last of the Belmonts" situation??? At least we got a Sypha shout out!
One more thing I just remembered; Annette's favorite color is Green. I believe that's a reference to her sometimes being depicted with a green dress in the source material? And in-universe, might reference Edouard... I love the connection between Annette's manipulation of metal, and her whole thing of banishing the demonic machine; Here's hoping she gets to pull it off!
All in all, I'm excited to see how things go in the second season! Which will really suck waiting for, but that's the price for quality I'm afraid. Ethical quality at least. But I gotta wait, what other choice do I have? Here's looking forward to how Alucard interacts with yet another Belmont... When Richter almost drank, I could just SEE him become Trevor again and I bet Alucard felt a chill down his spine for some reason.

Hey op just curious what makes you hate the new Hellsing fanbase. As a fellow Hellsing fan I was wondering if I’ve completely missed something strange going on lately.
The new Hellsing fandom honestly irks me because of the surface level probing of the source material*. Yes, to most it's a hard core, dark, violent, mad and bad-ass anime but, like I've said so often, for so long on this dumb blog, it has the BEST female characters I've ever seen, recently rivaled by Arcane. Incredible depiction of platonic relationships and morally grey characters. To me, it's primarily a found family story, among other things.
The side characters are incredible, Yumi and Heinkel are the most underrated of the show. I mean come on priest and nun lesbians (lesbian used liberally). Heinkel is confirmed by the author to be an INTERSEX HUMAN. Alucard shapeshifts into a female (which, looking at the Devilman fandom, everyone took for an obvious trans metaphor, why not here?). The source material is as homoerotic as it can get between a lot of the characters (the tension between Sir Integra and Seras during the blood scene). Let's not forget Rip van Winkle, Pip, Walter, and Alexander. Alucard's teasing, Seras' naivety and subsequent maturity, Pip's endurance and playful wittiness. These characters and relationships are stuck in my head forever, they're all incredibly unique, fleshed out and worth remembering, no matter how short a time they spent on screen. And the character designs? As a long-time vampyr and catholic guilt fan, can I just say. Rawr. This show shaped how I dress like irl and my own shitty characters, as well.
Sir Integra is my favorite character of the show and one of all time. Sir Integra Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing. Like, an actually good depiction of a no-nonsense, androgynous as hell, unabashedly commanding (dare I say) woman? And it's played completely straight? No "Whaaa that's a woman?" every 2 seconds or "heh, you will listen to me despite my womanhood" from her. Powerful in her own right despite being the few "magic"-less humans of the series. 0 sexualized Ultimate scenes (sorry Seras and the "hot down there" comment doesn't count, that was banter). She was fucking knighted by the Queen of England before she was even 25, hence Sir Integra. Canonically bi-racial and South-Asian. I'm not even going to go into her character's willpower and values but. Hellloooo???
Not to mention, something noteworthy about the series, but Hellsing works because Hirano made time for silly moments. I mean, hell, one of the scenes I remember most vivdly was the gag of Heinkel lighting Sir Integra's cigar and being mega-pissed about it during the final battle, it's funny yet in character, despite many fans saying the humor throws you out of the "reality" of the show.
Oh no, but what do the new fandom gremlins talk about? "Alufart rails Y/A" "OMG VLADCARD'S BARA HAIRY TIDDIES I WANNA RUB MY FACE AGAINST THEM" (you know who you are) “I drew the most fucked up version of Alucard I could think of in my twisted mind”
and my personal "favorite":
"omg 🥺 what if intewa and alucard kisswdd", it's almost as bad as Seras x Alucard.
Unfortunately, I am a part of the ship police, so I'm gonna say right now that these two are my most hated ships:
1) Sir Integra and Alucard's relationship goes beyond romance to me. Since none of the new fans know the lore, Sir Integra is and will die a virgin (canon), it's literally plot relevant because by having sex, if she gets bit she will become a zombie slave (obvious but apparently needed to be said) and, taking a note from the 2001 anime, gone is any chance to continue the Hellsing mission. If she was bitten, plot armor aside, she'd have to off herself instead of becoming a vampire. (and for you freaks out there/pos, dare I say… ace representation? you can argue about desire and subtext later)
2) Seras and Alucard's relationship was specifically noted by the author to be a father/daughter dynamic, which is kind of obvious in the show. Like I said, fundamentally a found family series. Yeah, you don't need to treat found family like family family but I gen can't stand this ship.
I know that people will ship characters who've never been in a room together before. I can't stop people from shipping them and these two ships have ALWAYS been popular in the fandom. I typically ignore this and, yes, "don't like, don't interact" is my main rule. However, new fans ONLY talk about this stuff. None of the rest of the show seems to matter, just Alucard's hairy mustached tig bitties and him fucking one of the two women in the main cast. Or someone's self insert.
((tangent but personally my favorite ships are Alexander x Alucard (obviously in an enemies to enemies way), Heinkel x Yumi, and a romance only Seras x s.Integra. Like, you want old women yuri??? There ya go! They were in a mansion for like 30 years (I forgot) together, probably going missions alone and sharing their grief over Alucard and their unique experience/history. Like I said, I can't help who people ship, I'm not trying to say the source material is in favor of my ships or "how dare people interpret these obviously gay characters as straight". like no, that's not why I'm upset and ik alucard and alexander weren't yaoi-ing it up but like. alucard and s.integra shippers dni /j))
Not to mention, I couldn't help but notice, despite this information being readily available to my middle school self, no one knows the fckn lore or background of this show?? I honest to god saw someone comment that Hellsing Ultimate™ was a bad “remake” because it diverged from the original anime.
Here's SOME fun facts:
-the 2001 version of the show has a different ending than the manga because it wasn't finished yet (duh). Hellsing Ultimate is "soooo short" because production took almost a decade and it was trying to be a faithful, well-animated (that takes time bruv) adaptation. Oh, and a bunch of directional changes that I won't get into.
-there are multiple OVAs following Walter's youth in WW2 (Hellsing: The Dawn). Young Walter's design honestly was one of my favorites from the series so. Walter enjoyers. Check it out.
-there is a bonus book explaining a lot about the characters and process of creating Hellsing written by Hirano himself. whenever I got a hold of it, though (8+ years ago) there was no English translation.
-Alucard didn't just transform into a girl that one time, he was in his girl form the entire time during WW2 (hence why when people mention his possible affair with the Queen it might've been a sapphic thing but I think that mostly stems from the abridged series. the queen thing not the girl thing)
-Hirano used to be a Hentai mangaka and actually designed many of Hellsing's characters in said hentai or in short stories (such as Crossfire, it's basically extra, non-canonical Hellsing content) beforehand. Which, this used to be the most popular "fun fact" but has been lost to the sands of time now, so prepare for a lot of people rediscovering this.
-personal lore is I almost named myself Rip van Winkle bc of this show (quirked up Portal, Grell Sutcliff, queer-coded, rifle-wielding shawty)
Anyway, to sum it up, I hate when people don't interpret characters in the same way I do. Yes, I am a bad “fandom elder”, idgaf I am fundamentally a hater.
*I keep seeing this happen with old shows that resurface. Unlike newer or more popular shows where every scene gets scoured, characters who showed up for one scene get analyzed, and endless cafe AUs are made- older shows mostly get fan art of the main charas and the ships of the two hottest characters and that's it. Discussion of lore and themes are completely off the table. So I'm not surprised, just disappointed.

I'm not exactly good with drawing digital art but...
These are my versions of Shaft and Tera for my Nocturne rewrite, now retitled "The Rondo of Blood". While I am discarding much of Nocturne's entire storyline, there are a few spades from that which remain in the rewrite. Among these is that Tera (now Teranova Renard) and Shaft (formerly Enoch Laforeze) are the parents of Maria Renard.
Although I would lament that Tera will have a much smaller role compared to her Nocturne counterpart (as she appears only in flashbacks), much of her character traits (and that of Edouard, who also doesn't appear much in the rewrite) are transferred to Annette de Winter (who is more in line with her game counterpart with a few major liberties; she's now a French alchemist who is a confidant of Richter Belmont as well as the older cousin of Maria Renard).
Unlike Nocturne however, the main antagonist through and through is Shaft (as it should've been, as he's the second main villain of the original game). Not Erzebeth nor Drolta, as they should've been reserved for an adaptation of Bloodlines (which is highly unlikely considering the directors' favorite character Alucard isn't in the game). With Dracula out of the picture (for now), I used the opportunity to flesh out Shaft as a major character and it... clicked.
The extensive backstory I wrote for him (while tragic) aligns perfectly with the Revolutionary France setting, as a humble priest with a dark past who fell astronomically from grace and morality after witnessing his own home crumble before him in chaos and disorder. This makes him a lot more compelling and, quite controversially, a more interesting villain than Erzebeth. In fact, with his background as a cult leader, it makes far more sense for him to be called the "Messiah".
Shaft, in this version, is an adept Forgemaster (and a descendant of Hector, as The Curse of Darkness is canon in this alternate timeline) who leads a nationwide cult with a dream to conquer Europe beginning with France. It would be a nice change in formula to have a main antagonist who's not a powerful ancient vampire but a human who is just as dangerous as one. As a result, his zealous ambitions are challenged by the great vampire lords of Europe, who fear that he himself will topple their dominion over the wider continent. This is a stark comparison to Emmanuel from Nocturne, who is a pretty pathetic priest (in my opinion) who makes alliances with the vampires to bring down the revolutionaries (by itself is a blasphemy to imagine), and merely uses a machine for making night creatures (that don't function properly).
The circumstance of him being Maria's father is much more significant than Nocturne as, following the tragedy that set Shaft on a darker path, he had purged every ounce of humanity left within him to keep himself going. Unlike Dracula, he was hellbent on watching the world burn and build a "paradise" out of it that he wouldn't let such "petty emotions" tear him away from his path. Nothing except Maria, his only connection to the peaceful life he once had and the kind man he once was. For all these reasons, his obsessive desire to find her is what kick-starts the events of the main storyline.
I'd add more about Annette in this version, as well as Richter and Maria, but that's a different set of blog posts altogether.

andercard going SHOPPING
ANDERCARD S M O O C H I N G MAKING OUT EVEN
BAKING
GARDENING
QUEERING
DANCING
that is all :3
Ah, well my dear unfortuantly.. Our shopping trips usually turn out to be shopping from Master Integra's office since I don't make any money and Anderson is.. not wealthy.. As for kissing.. I think i came come up with something for you: Alucard walked up to Anderson from behind and gave him a quick peck, causing Andersons face to go bright red. Anderson turned "Ah no ya filthy heathen you arent beating me that easily" Anderson quickly slammed Alucard against the wall and kissed him, before Alucard lunged at him, kissing back. Anderson quickly pinned Alucard on the desk, as they kissed passionately "Sir," Walter said from behind "As much as I appreciate your blossoming love.. I don't think Sir Integra would be happy with you doing this in her office"
And with the fact I cannot physically eat food, Anderson usually does the baking to eat, but I have convinced him I can, and pretend to eat it, usually to make him happy that his baking is good *Its not* Gardening doesn't happen much because it usually ends in me throwing flowers at his face to get his attention *Yes, I am indeed a little needy* Queering is not a term I have heard, if you youngsters could inform me, that would make me oh so happy (Hes so old) And dancing: Alucard took Andersons hands and started to sway "Aye, this is.. Nice" Anderson admitted as Alucard led him Alucard smiled "I'm so glad you think so, my beloved nemesis" He spun, before dipping him and kissing him passionately
"I love you, Judas Priest~" "Shut yer mouth, you filthy heathen" Anderson smiled "Ah, I love how feisty you are"
Well, that is all for now, my dear I hope I answered you well, and if not, please do ask more, I am *always* available for you, and all my beloved mortals Sincerely Alucard
