Oh, then he noticed that she blushed! Good that he could not read her mind: --
“Oh, I am not feeling intimidated…and I was not really expecting you to do anything…" - (“If anything I was wondering how it would feel if you actually did”) – Nunnally waved her hand to brush off his words – “If anything I was slightly embarrassed with myself …although no! That’s not the correct words. Rather surprised with myself that I am taking you here…to this small room instead the formal living-room. I mean…I tend not to invite anyone here unless I know them better...well. It was just unexpected wish that I decided to oblige…” – ( “Now it’s probably worse than leaving it without any comment”) – she thought but decided not to care about it too much. Instead she offered him a warm smile: --
“Yes, of course, Would you prefer it Japanese or more European way?” – she was happy Victor made himself comfortable. She noticed he was glancing over the room and was, somewhat, interested in what he was thinking. Nunnally did not want him to be disappointed in what the room looked like. She usually did not care, so why this time? The girl was puzzled by his next words; them causing her cheeks getting slightly red again – “Then perhaps you prefer to stay alone? I can provide you with your tea and something to read, if you prefer…to work…it was not my intention to make you feel uncomfortable.” – a pause – “I really mean it. I would not feel bad if you prefer me to leave.” – well, probably she was too honest. She should keep it simple and polite.
She genuinely smiled when he told her about his parents. It was such a sweet story. She wished she would have a similar one to tell her children, but she was painfully aware that most likely she would not. Her parents’ marriage was an arranged one (unhappy one as far as she was aware) and she was sure it was the same with both of her grandparents. Well, she was sure about her maternal grandparents and only assumed so when it came to her father’s side. She had never met them. They died long before she was born. So, she simply assumed that arranged marriage would be her fate as well.
“That’s such a lovely story…and such a unique way to honour your parents. I wish I will be able to do something similar one day!”
“I…I am not sure how the park looks right now. I have not been there for a longer while, but…” – her eyes sparkled – “I have always enjoyed water and I remember there was quite much of it…perhaps more footbridges would be nice over the ponds and small streams…and a lot of flowers and trees…I know it’s the amusement park, but I think it’s nice when there are also places just to relax…And I was thinking a cable car…although that’s probably too much…but just imagine being able to look at the park from above…”
She almost picked up the drawing notebook that was left on the small table with some of her drawings to be seen there to start sketching what she meant, but – in the last moment – Nunnally hesitated. Victor was probably just polite and she was getting overexcited, As she was not sure if her father would be pleased she was getting involved. Instead grabbing her notebook, she sat on a chair close to him: --
“I am sure my father will be a great support for the project.” – she smiled and her face became bright as every time she thought about her father; although Nunnally did not truly understand why her father was interested in the park business. Was is because of her…? It was hard for her to believe in it, but it was not impossible, right? – “And if you ever need some assistance, I would always…” – she started…
“I would have to ask my father if he would not object…but I am he would not!”

"you don't need to blush. i am not going to do anything," victor pointed out matter-of-factly. the man was faintly aware, that his business partner had a daughter. victor had seen her on a few occasions. she was mostly hidden behind her father, almost like he was keeping her away from the public, which was a very... unsuccessful attempt. he was just happy enough that the most private parts of his life weren't up for discussion in public because he gave them no lead at all. victor was too busy for a love life and on the other hand, he had not gotten over his last crush anyhow.
at least he was ripe enough to meet new women, which was not a goal but a byproduct of his career. he looked at her a bit longer before clearing his throat. "what i mean.... please don't look so intimidated." he liked to think of himself as stern or strict, but not exactly a scary sort of person, although his height was already plenty intimidating for women... in his defense, it was in his genes.
"I like green tea. soothes the mind. if that's possible?" he friendly asked before stepping closer to look over her shoulder. yes, she was tiny. victor tapped his chin and stepped away, not wanting to give her a fright for coming so close and instead just made himself comfortable. victor looked around curiously, certainly looked like something her father would like but there were some clearly personal touches to the decoration here and there.
certainly what nunnally would like, judging by her shy and sweet behavior.
she was much more gentle than her father... who was... actually a little bit off an asshole and certainly not the one he would vote for, but that was nothing he was going to tell nunnally, obviously.
"i know i am not your usual ceo, but i like being... alone. having absolutely no one around. i never liked it when the maids and butlers pampered me. i can totally tie my shoelaces all on my own." he gave her a small smile, never having meant to be intimidating after all, but it was difficult for him. he was not exactly used to show his emotions, partially why his last girlfriend left him.
"i am glad you like the park. it was where my parents met and fell in love. it is more or less the reason i was born. i thought i would like for it to glimmer and sparkle again, just like many many years ago, for more people to appreciate it." his smile was genuine, recalling the memories of himself trying all the wild rides and seeing the many happy faces, especially his parents.
"if you have ideas, feel free to consult me. the planning is part of my tasks, since i suggested this in the first place and your father for some reason seemed very interested."

Was the young Henry VIII a very friendly and gentle person?
Assuming you mean on a personal level (since, obviously...ordering executions is not especially 'gentle'), that seems to be the general judgement. There's not actually much variation from it from 1509-20s, foreign observers extol his gentleness and generosity and piety throughout the early 1530s, their only specific criticism there is that he's enthralled with a woman of 'bad character' (shorthand for 'low birth').
'the kindest of princes' (Cranmer, 1526) ‘a man of gentle friendliness, and gentle in debate; he acts more like a companion than a king’ (Erasmus, 1529) 'affable and gracious, harmed no one' (Venetian ambassador, 1519) 'He is kind and affable, full of graciousness and courtesy, and liberal; particularly so to men of science (virtuosi) whom he is never weary of obliging.' (Venetian ambassador, 1531)
There's some interesting post-contemporary observations on this matter, too (that have to be considered more doubtful since they're more influenced by hindsight and sometimes, by partisanship); such as:
"her Majesty's father, though otherwise the most gentle and affable prince in the world, could not abide to have any man stare in his face; or to fix his eye too steadily upon him when he talked with them".
And while I won't arm-chair, body-language 'science', pop psych-analyze that one (search results yield that specific source quote to 'narcissism' discussion), since it's neuroableist particularly to suggest an inability to maintain eye contact is indicative of innate deceit/dishonesty ...it is an interesting observation, considering how long he was in the public eye.
'Otherwise' gentle and affable is what's interesting about this remark, really, because are gentleness and friendliness mutually exclusive with a certain self-consciousness? I don't think so, and I wonder if this manifested particularly once he got to the point in a public ceremony/spectacle where he became overwhelmed by the attention and scrutiny, it is not typically how he's thought of but it's such a specific observation connected (but 'contrasting') those specific traits you asked of, I thought it was worth mentioning.
Mantel touched on this,
‘The burden of kingship,’ he says, ‘no man can imagine it. All my life, to be a prince: to be observed to be a prince; all eyes to be set on me; to be an exemplar of virtue, of discretion, of excellence in learning; to have a mind young and vigorous yet as wise as Solomon; to take pleasure in what others have designed for my pleasure, or be thought ungrateful; to discipline all my appetites, to unmake myself as a man in order to make myself as a king; to waste not a minute lest I be seen to waste it; for idleness, no excuses; always alert to prove, always to show, that I am worthy of the place God appointed me … When I was a young man I suppose I showed the calf of my leg to an ambassador and said, “There, has your French king a calf as good as that?” And my words were reported, and all Europe laughed at me, a vain idle boy, and no doubt people laugh still. But being young I asked myself, if God had formed François better than me, which prince did He favour most?’
And I also thought Mantel touched on this (although I can't find it in my highlights atm, so maybe I'm misremembering); I distinctly remember this scene...where somebody is recalling, as Duke of York, Henry was placed on a pony or horse when he's only two or three years old, and this is really his first public appearance, and he's reported to have acquitted himself well, to have been charming and gracious and graceful, even then...but even then, there was always this dark spectre. The timing of his ennoblement as Duke of York was chosen with purpose, it was in the shadow of a pretender. Was there a sense of unease, even then, that he couldn't articulate until later: that behind every smile, could be a knife?
'[Henry VII]'s children grew up in a world of threats, intrigue, and paranoia', '[Prince Henry]'s earliest years were as emotionally insecure as his father's reign was politically uncertain', '"he is so subjugated that he does not speak a word except in response to what the king asks him"'; again, the latter does not match the gregarious (perhaps even, more self-fashioned than natural) personality he's recorded as having as an adult.
The possibility that he oscillated between two opposite settings, and adapted accordingly, back to back (relative isolation and circumspection, to complete immersion in public celebration and celebrity and grandiose openness/friendliness); could account for the contradiction of an "affable" young man that gradually became uncomfortable with the level of scrutiny to which he was held, and maybe even modulated his habit and outward persona to fit what was expected of a king.
#anon#can't answer for if he was...there were (although it's not generally given much space)#speeches of dissent against him even before the GM. but they were fairly rare#anyway. can't answer for what he was#just what he was observ#...observed to be#i don't think he was suited to rule...?#he was a good politician so that's not what i mean#but i think he would've made a better advisor#it's almost like he makes up for the 'lost time' of the first half of his reign#where he's astonishingly...possibly to deteriment...permissive#by turning to become incredibly ruthless#although i think CTE was a factor asw#but there are several accounts that are suggestive of this . he was permissive and he fell into permissive habits#bcus he wanted to be liked and let those close to him take advantage of their friendships/working relationships#like AB flipping over a table (metaphorically speaking) when a messenger relays that cardinal wolsey wants henry to visit him#that's often portrayed as her own power play; she doesn't want to be left out of the conversation#or her own animosity towards wolsey#and im sure both those things were also true#but. yk. it's also from someone with experience in several courts; of several rulers#abroad...and i think it is also genuinely shock. that this is his habit.#to let wolsey dictate when and where they're meeting rather than the king doing so

really if you're being like a connoisseur of facial proportions and stuff im not pretty. but what i am is thin and young with big green eyes and long blonde hair which is enough to be pretty-adjacent as an anti-woke outrage farmer social media presence where all i have to do is make faces to a clip of women saying they don't like short men and say something like "women are crazy nowadays i don't blame guys for staying single!" and let the money from my following of stupid sheeple conservative-but-not-religious men roll in
#does that make sense to anyone#this is about lauren Chen who I don't even have beef with i just think her content is so so so basic and she definitely only has the succes#she does because she is a young pretty woman willing to criticize women (and even then it's not like she says anything particularly shockin#she just lets her fanboys pat themselves on the back and complain about women in her comments sections which is smart)#but it's also about several other women i see who are like this#who was that blond girl from a couple years ago??? not tomi lahren although she is adjacent to this too#anyway Lauren Chen is legitimately very pretty but I think the standard is more what I call the Kennedy effect#JFK was not hot he was just the hottest President because he was young and not actively ugly alongside a bunch of old and unfortunate#looking men (politicians)#it's like office hotness

Jacinda just resigned.
#i feel more about this than expected.#she was a politician who didn't try to act like a man to be authoritative#i mean we had Helen Clark. who i also admired. but she was kinda terrifying from memory#although i was a lot younger#Jacinda on the other hand was able to be nice as well as the authority. gentle. understanding.#all sorts of things i'm not used to seeing from people in charge#my department's egm was like this during the lockdowns too which was another great example#but its an even better example when its your PM#she's also 2 days older then me 😅#so i feel perhaps more of a connection than inusually would to a politician#i mean i get it. if i'd had to run the effing country through a volcanic disaster. a terrorist attack. and a pandemic i'd be tired too!#her comment to Clark saying lets get married now was adorable#and her feeling on her decision was so evident#while Labour didn't achieve nearly as much as I'd hoped it wasn't exactly a smooth run so i get it#but#thank you Jacinda#jacinda ardern#nz#new zealand#politics#real life

dior/nimloth for the ship opinions?
Ship ask game
Themmmmmmmm <3
Is Nimloth essentially an OC with a canon name? Yes. Does this make me any less invested in this ship? Absolutely not.
They're both young and ambitious and want to move up and make a difference in the world while their parents are either not that invested politically (Galathil and Laerell) or actively sprinted away from politics full speed to live out their cottagecore dreams in the woods (Beren and Luthien). Dior has no idea what he's doing, but has the influence to do things. Nimloth does know what she's doing, and knows how to use his influence to their benefit. Their relationship is 50% political convenience and scheming and 50% absolute soul-felt adoration.
They join the marchwardens for the same reasons and have so much in common. They kinda hate each other at first. Dior falls in love at first sight. Nimloth reluctantly makes friends with him and realizes she's in love when they're both drunk out of their minds. They keep pining for months. Dior immediately proposes but forgets to get a ring so he makes her a magic flower hairpiece. Their idea of a good date is killing things together and/or for each other. They write love poetry and have 50 sappy nicknames each. They're kinky. They fight over who gets to be given the epithet "The Fair" and Nimloth wins because she uses all her political skill to make sure everyone recognizes that her husband is very pretty. She called him Eluchil first to be mean and then sincerely and then as a political move. Dior warns her that he's probably mortal and he understands if she doesn't want to fully commit to their relationship. She says that he's stupid if he thinks she won't anyway. When they die they pull a Luthien in Mandos except they argue law and theology and destiny with a judge god who sees the future while completely horror-and-grief-stricken and they manage to win Dior's immortality. They proceed to be exactly as deadly and clever and disgusting as ever in Aman, except this time Nimloth has decided she can make use of the kinslayers and Dior doesn't have quite enough of an excuse to tear Celegorm's heart out again. Their children have become (not-maia-not-incarnate not-a-pair-not-alone) horrifying avatars of Doriath and an adult woman with children of her own while they were dead, and this doesn't stop them from exercising excellent parenting skills.
Basically their relationship might exist only in my head but it makes me mentally ill.
#ask game#dior eluchil#nimloth#dior/nimloth#admittedly like 75% of named female characters are basically ocs but like most of them you can at least kinda extrapolate something about#and/or they have more fanon#i have seen like. 2 other people who actually care about nimloth as a blorbo lol#although this ship is actually fairly equal in that dior doesn't have much on him by way of fans ir canon personality either#but yeah i care them so much theyre my creatures my blorbos my deeply competent politician/fighters#theyre so healthy and communicative but in an insane way <3#asks#thalion71

was listening to a podcast and the author being interviewed was a gay man and he was saying that in this new era of constant online surveillance there's a lot of emphasis on politicians' "authenticity" and a lot of outrage when it comes up that they said something in their off duty time that's not as progressive as their "public" politics/views are but he said he actually doesn't care at all about what they say in private, (I'm paraphrasing here) bc an homophobic joke in private is very different from a public speech instigating hate or laws reinforcing discrimination and he said "I don't want authentic politicians, I want responsible ones".
idk I just thought it was an interesting statement
#ive said something similar before too for example about how people defend public figures ' questionable public choices with remarks about#how great they are in private and ive always said yea but what good does it do being decent in private and then doing shitty things with#your public platform#i guess this is the same thought just reversed#although i think theres more nuances to it like can someone who doesnt believe in something actually be fighting for it at an institutional#level ??#but i also think that in an ideal society that shouldn't really matter bc in an ideal society/democracy#if a politician that gets elected with a promise to do something and then turns around and doesn't respect that#then theyd simply be kicked out of their positions#but unfortunately in our current society people seem to have forgotten that politicians are meant to work for us and to represent us so !#i also understand people who distrust someone who has different views in private even if they dont act on them institutionally#idk its a thought provoking idea so i thought id share

Macklemore cancels his show in Dubai to boycott the UAE in solidarity with the people of Sudan:
“At the end of the day I have to ask myself what is my intention as an artist? […] Although dismantling systemic oppression might not fully happen during my lifetime, our collective analysis is evolving. That is where it starts. When we realize our individual liberation IS Palestinian liberation. Is Sudanese liberation. Is Congolese liberation.”
He also writes:
“The last 10 months l've been learning what factors/motivators feed genocide and global systemic oppression. I keep getting led back to self interest over collective interest at the root. If you want to know what's up in Argentina:
Argentina has, historically, the right to public FREE quality university for all citizens and residents on its soil. This is considered a right and, although the system has its faults, it's considered the pillar of Argentina's middle professional class and a tool for upward mobility.
Last week, against HEAVY popular citizen support for the national public university system, Congress decided to support Javier Milei's veto that halts the public university's funding to inoperative levels.
Although the goverment and other friendly politicians assure this is about keeping numbers balanced, the money the Argentinian goverment gives to the system is less than 0,14% of the GDP. This is ideological. This is about less rights.
The President has claimed in interviews before and after his presidency that he considers free university "a degeneracy" and useless, although the Argentinian public university system has been lauded internationally (with high global rankings of UBA, Universidad de Cordoba, UNLP and Nobel prizes for its graduates) and is considered one of the tools for the working class's social mobility and the creation of Argentina's professional middle class.
The response to these measures that directly goes against the people's wishes have been instant.
There are now massive university takeovers all over the country, including very conservative areas and faculties with a population that refrains from these measures and have indeed voted for Milei's Libertarian party. Argentinian's Student Movement is historic, relentless and goes back to the 1918 Reform. It has coordinated and birthed several historical moments country-wise and was famously targeted by authoritarian regimes (like 1976's US-backed Military Dictatorship'a genocide and 1990s Neoliberalist Menem's policies).
The last two decades the movement has been disjointed, even fangless, but it seems Milei and the Congress's blatant corruption and disregard for what is considered a basic right has awakened a dormant beast.
Keep an eye on us, alright? Please.

A History of the Democratic Republic of Congo… From IG - @redstreamnet — Did you know that the CIA once orchestrated the execution of Patrice Lumumba by a firing squad? On the 17th of January, 1961, Patrice Lumumba, the first democratically elected leader of the Congo, was executed by a firing squad following assassination plots concocted by the US and Belgian governments. Lumumba’s anti-imperialism and his vision of a united Congo made him an adversary of both Belgium and US imperialism. Although the CIA ordered his assassination, they weren’t able to carry it out themselves. Instead, Washington and Brussels secretly funnelled cash and aid to rival politicians who organized a coup and arrested Lumumba. He was then beaten, tortured, and killed. #BlackHistory #PanAfrican #AfricanHistory #AntiColonialism

The Sanitized Lore of Dragon Age: The Veilguard
Tevinter is the heart of slavery in Thedas. This lore has been established in every game, novel, comic, and other extended material in the Dragon Age franchise to date that so much as mentions the nation. But in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, when we are finally able to actually visit this location for the first time… this rampant slavery we’ve heard so much about is nowhere to be found. It’s talked about here and there; Neve mentions The Viper has a history of freeing slaves, as does Rook themselves if they choose the Shadow Dragon faction as their origin, for example. But walking down the streets of Minrathous, you’d never know. Because Dragon Age: The Veilguard, for all its enjoyment otherwise, has one glaring issue: It’s too clean.
The world of Thedas is full of injustices. Humans persecute elves, fear qunari, and belittle dwarves. Mages of any race are treated like caged animals in most places. The nobility is corrupt. Although, Dragon Age has not always handled these injustices well, mind you. Many, many times I’ve found myself frustrated with moments that just feel like a Racism Simulator. But what makes it worth it, is when you can actually do something about it. These injustices are things that a good-aligned character strives to fight back against, maybe even for very personal reasons. Part of the power-fantasy for many minorities is that this fight feels tangible. I cannot arrange the assassination of a corrupt politician in real life, but I sure can get Celene Valmont stabbed to death in Dragon Age: Inquisition, for example. Additionally, these fictional injustices can be used to make statements on real life parallels, like any source of media. For example, no, the Chant of Light is not real, but acting as a stand-in for Catholicism, through a media analysis lens we can explore what the Chant of Light communicates on a figurative level.
When starting Dragon Age: The Veilguard and selecting to play as an elf – this should be unsurprising to anyone who is familiar with my bias towards them – I was fully prepared to enter the streets of Minrathous and immediately get called “knife-ear” or “rabbit”. But this did not happen. I thought perhaps it was just a prologue thing, but returning to Minrathous once again, there was not a single shred of disapproval from any NPC I encountered that wasn’t a generic enemy to fight. And even the generic enemies, the Tevinter Nationalist cult of the Venatori, didn’t seem to care at all that I was a lineage they deemed inferior before now. This is a stark difference from entering the Winter Palace in Dragon Age: Inquisition and immediately getting hit with court disapproval and insults. Are we now to believe that Tevinter has somehow solved its astronomical racism and classism problems in the ten years since the past game? Or perhaps are we to believe all the characters who have demonstrated Tevinter’s systemic discriminatory views were just lying or outliers? Because it makes absolutely no sense at all for this horribly corrupt nation to not have a shred of reactivity to an elven or qunari Rook prancing around. But here were are, and not a single NPC even recognizes my character’s lineage. And because this is so different from every single past game, it feels weird.
As an elf, you have the option to make a comment about how “too many humans look down on us” in one scene early in the game. You can also talk to Bellara and Davrin, the elven companions, about concerns that people won’t trust elves after finding out about the big bad Ancient Evanuris… but this is presented as if elves don’t already face persecution. It’s all so limited in scope that it could be all too easily missed if you are not paying very close attention, and coming into the game with pre-existing lore knowledge.
All this made it easy to first assume that the developers simply over-corrected an attempt to address the Racism Simulator moments. And if that was the case, than I would at least give credit to effort; they did not find the right balance, but they at least tried. However, the sudden lack of discrimination against different lineages in Dragon Age: The Veilguard is not the only sanitized example of lore present.
In Dragon Age: Origins, Zevran Arainai is a companion who is from the Antivan Crows; a group of assassins. He discusses in detail how the Crows buy children and raise them into murder machines through all kinds of torture. The World of Thedas books also describe how the Antivan Crows work, echoing what Zevran says and expanding that of the recruitment, only a select handful of those taken by the Crows even survive. When you start Dragon Age: The Veilguard as an Antivan Crow, you immediately unlock a re-used codex entry from the past, “The Crows and Queen Madrigal”, that says the following:
“His guild has a reputation to uphold. They are ruthless, efficient, and discreet. How would they maintain such notoriety if agents routinely revealed the names of employers with something as "banal" as torture.”
Ruthless, efficient, and discreet. Torture is banal. This is what the Crows were before Dragon Age: The Veilguard decided to take them in a very different direction. The Antivan Crows in this latest game are painted as freedom fighters against the Antaam occupation of Treviso. Teia calls the Crows “patriots”. And while I can certainly believe that the Crows would have enough motivation to fight back against the Antaam, given that it is in direct opposition to their own goals, I cannot understand why they are suddenly suggested to be morally good. They are assassins. They treat their people like tools and murder for money. Even as recent as the Tevinter Nights story Eight Little Talons, it is addressed that the Antivan Crows are in it for the coin and power, with characters like Teia being outliers for wanting to change that. It makes the use of the older codex all the more confusing, as it sets the Antivan Crows up as something they are no longer portrayed as.
I personally think it would have been really interesting to explore a morally corrupt faction in comparison to say, the Shadow Dragons. Perhaps even as a protagonist, address things like the enslavement of “recruits” to make the faction at least somewhat better. (They are still assassins, after all.) Instead, we’re just supposed to ignore everything unsavory about them, I suppose…
We could discuss even further examples. Like how the Lords of Fortune pillage ruins but it’s okay, because they never sell artifacts of cultural importance, supposedly. Or how the only problem with the Templar Order in Tevinter is just the “bad apples” that work with Venatori. I could go on, but I don’t think I have to.
It is because of all this sanitization, that I cannot believe this was simply over-correction on a developmental part. Especially when there is still racism in the game, in other forms. The impression I’m left with feels far deeper than that; it feels corporate. As if a computer ran through the game’s script and got rid of anything with “too much” political substance. The strongest statements are hidden in codex entries, and I almost suspect they had to be snuck in.
Between a Racism Simulator and just ignoring anything bad whatsoever, I believe a balance is achievable; that sweet spot that actually has something to say about what it is presenting. I know it is achievable, because there are a few bright spots of this that I’ve encountered in Dragon Age: The Veilguard too. For example, some of the codex entries like I mentioned, and almost all the content with the Grey Wardens thus far. It is a shame there is not more content on this level.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard is overall still a fun game, in my opinion. But it’s hard to argue that it isn’t missing the grit of its predecessors. The sharp edges have been smoothed. The claws have been removed. The house has been baby-proofed. And for what purpose?

Yandere President! Husband x First Lady! Wife Reader:
I have never seen a yandere as a political figure, be it a mayor, minister, senator, congressman or president of an entire country.
The Yandere President met you before he rose to power, and from there he became madly infatuated with you.
The yandere president came from a very powerful family like you, so your parents and his arranged a marriage despite the modernity of the time.
He received a very comprehensive, albeit and very strict education.
Your education wasn't very different from his; you even knew each other from a young age, as your parents purposely brought you together.
The Yandere President won't take "no" from you for an answer.
A president needs to have charisma and know how to communicate with people, and the Yandere president is no exception. He KNOWS that there are people who believe in him, and whether he is corrupt or not, he will use this chance of manipulation to his advantage to have you.
The Yandere President will always make sure you're comfortable wherever you go together, or whenever you want to stay home. You will have the best medical care and attention, as well as the best food, drink, clothing, treats, accessories and, above all, protection.
And by the way, you will have a great and powerful status that others would envy.
The Yandere President is one of those powerful, paranoid, manipulative, protective and, above all, controlling yanderes.
Whether you're alone or with him, you'll ALWAYS be watched by him wherever you go, even if it's from your bedroom to the living room. The Yandere President will have bodyguards on hand to carefully protect you, him, and his family; he also has servants such as private chefs, maids, chauffeurs, butlers, security guards, etc.
ALL of those servants will tell the yandere president everything you say or do.
The yandere president has a WHOLE team of security cameras and microphones watching you from every possible angle (even if you can't see them), so he ALWAYS knows where you are, who you're with, what you say and what you do. After that, there's no way you can lie to him.
He would even limit your outings to the patio, for fear of snipers, according to him.
Needless to say, you have become the main object of his crazy obsessive love. He would do anything to have you; including killing his love rivals; overprotecting you; isolating you; censoring or controlling all information about you in the media.
The Yandere President knows he has enemies everywhere, both politicians from other parties and other nations and civilians (including rebel groups) who are willing to kidnap you, torture you, extort you, rob you, rape you and even kill you for the simple reason of being related to him.
The yandere president would barely let you see your family.
The Yandere President would love any gift you give him, just because it came from you, his greatest love.
The Yandere President would proudly show you off to everyone, and wouldn't stop reminding the citizens that you are his.
Even though you participate in politics and charity events, the yandere president considers that you should only be his due to his jealousy.
And speaking of which, the yandere president will not stand for you leaving him or talking to another man other than himself, your father or maybe a brother.
Whether in public or private, he will hold your hand, hug you or kiss you, but not to keep up appearances, but to show you the love he feels for you.
Although the yandere president knows that he must protect you from the paparazzi and the media, since he knows that if they have no mercy on him (being the president), much less will they have mercy on you.
I almost forgot: the yandere president would NOT accept a divorce.
He can't bear the idea that you, his beloved, want to leave him.
He would question you intensively to find out the reason for the divorce. Did he not take care of you? Did someone threaten you? Did he not give you enough gifts? Did he not love you or give you enough affection? Did he not give you the attention you wanted? Did someone do something to you and he did not protect you enough?
The Yandere President would talk things over with you and tell you right away that he would NOT let you go anywhere.
The yandere president will even lock you up to make you reconsider.
The Yandere President is not only someone with a lot of money; he also has the best team of private detectives, investigators, spies, hackers, guards and even police officers; so he knows EVERYTHING about you and your family, so if he can't get you to give up on the divorce, he'll have your parents pressure you or threaten to make them disappear.
The Yandere President is capable of ordering the killing of any lover you have.
He is the yandere president; he has absolute control over every part of the country, be it houses, apartments, schools and universities, public administration sites, establishments, all streets and even airports and/or borders.
Now, he would never dare to hurt you directly.
The Yandere President would be capable of making your life difficult if you divorce him. He will do everything to get you back, even sending his men to kidnap you.
He would not accept a divorce even if his election campaigns fail, just think that if he fails, you'll do it together.
The yandere president would be able to become a yandere dictator for you.
He would invite you on the most dazzling trips around the country or around the world.
-The end.
So, what do you think?

༊*·˚ LIKE THE WAY I FUCK ('CAUSE I GET ROUGH) — an undercover mission with your superiors leads to compromised positions (in more ways than one)
featuring. simon 'ghost' riley + könig
warnings. nsfw, fem!reader, canon-divergence, age difference, slight power imbalance, jealous/possessive behaviour, discussions of violence, tags to be added
// NSFW CONTENT BELOW THE CUT //
Turns out, undercover missions involve a lot more make-up, perfume and dresses than you'd anticipated.
Being a seasoned task force operator, it's been months, if not years since you've been to a party outside of your barracks. Let alone one of this calibre; CEOs, billionaires on Forbes Top 50, politicians.
It's off-putting.
All of it; it's stressful, and it feels as though your skin's crawling, having so much skin on display, so many eyes on you at once. You feel as though you’re an animal at a zoo, being inspected by families with their snotty-nosed kids.
"Sit-rep, Diamond?"
Swallowing around a dry mouth, you reply to your lieutenant's request through your earpiece, tone low and careful. "All as planned, Lt."
Ghost hums a low sound in reply, and your shoulders loosen slightly from their tense position.
You knew that your superior was already inside, having arrived ten minutes earlier. A small, selfish part of you wished that you'd have arrived with him, if only to see how he cleaned up.
Ghost? In a suit? It's like one of your deepest, most dirty of desires come to life.
Such thoughts that you'd never let leave your lips -- thoughts too likely to wreck your entire career and any opportunity to keep your relationship with the man.
"König?" Is Ghost's next question, although it's just the other man's name alone.
Right.
König.
The other superior featured in your dreams. Thoughts. Wank-material?
Whatever they are, they're becoming all too common, all too realistic, and all too risky.
"Successful entry," König replies, heavily accented voice low and quiet -- he's amongst people.
Your limo comes to a stop outside of the decorated museum, and a suited man opens your door with gloved hands. His upper lip is covered in a well-groomed pencil moustache, and you have to stifle a chuckle. Soap would’ve appreciated it.
With a small smile, you incline your head towards him, lifting up the fabric of your skirt so it doesn't brush against the gravel. It’s so… impractical, and you really can’t help but respect those that dress up like this on a regular basis. Looking down at your outfit, you let out a low breath.
When Gaz and Soap had burst into your room with shit-eating grins and a garment bag, you had just known that your dress was going to be... extravagant at best, and downright sinful at worst.
You were correct, of course.
So, here you are, walking down the red carpet into the building, cameras flashing and paparazzi screaming, in this... dress.
Silky black, strapless, and with crossing lines of fabric across your bare back. Chiffon skirts fall behind you, with a slit rising all the way up to where your thigh meets your hip bone. A gun hides beneath, strapped around your inner thigh, paired with your right, adorning a delicate yet hefty knife.
You look... not at all like a Sergeant on Task Force 141.
You look like a celebrity, one just out of her fans' reach. It's a surreal experience, and the mere thought of your two superiors (crushes) seeing you like this... It's frightening. Maddening. And, maybe, a tad bit exhilarating.
Gaz had insisted on doing your make-up -- having so many sisters made him a fully-fledged artist, apparently. And an artist he was, talented with the brushes of eyeshadow and flicks of eyeliner against your skin.
Soap, for his part, had begged for you to let him do your hair -- but considering his only experience was his mohawk, you were less than lenient. With a huff, he’d let you go to Laswell’s wife with the request, as long as he picked out your jewellery.
And now, hours later, your heels click against the stone tile as you enter the museum.
Soft lighting cascades all of the guests in gentle hues of yellow, laughter and polite mingling surrounding you as you enter the main ballroom, skirts brushing against your legs.
Chandeliers above glisten, a live-band plays beautiful jazz, and servers walk around with trays of champagne and finger foods.
It's nothing like you've ever experienced.
This mission, somehow, terrifies you more than the weight of a sniper in your hand and an order to neutralise.
"Target, six o'clock," Ghost's voice carries through your comms as you take position near the corner of the room. There’s fewer people here, and it allows you a moment to breathe and recalibrate.
Your eyes dart to the direction your lieutenant has supplied, and you catch sight of your target immediately. "Got eyes," you murmur softly, smile on your face as you pretend to fix your hair.
"Affirmative," König answers then.
"I haven't seen you before."
Whipping around to the source of the words, you find yourself face to face with a man who you've seen the face of too many times to count.
"Apologies for startling you," he inclines his head respectfully. He's got a few inches on you -- although you find it hard to consider him tall when you're with your superiors more often than not. His skin is closely-shaved, his blonde hair gelled to the nines -- and a smarmy, trust-fund baby smirk to top it all off.
Extending his hand, he announces, "I'm Phillip. Phillip Graves."
...Graves.
The last name of your target -- the son of your target.
"I'm Louise," you say with a sweet smile, taking his hand and shaking it. Your undercover name was going to have to come into play sooner than you'd hoped. "It's a lovely atmosphere, isn't it?"
"Positive, Diamond?" Ghost's deep voice instantly responds to your subtle codeword.
"Not as lovely as you, I'm sure," Phillip flirts, and you pretend to bat your lashes and hide your face from him.
"Ah... thank you, Sir. You're quite dashing yourself," you meekly reply, giving him a soft smile.
Men like this were so easily played, you found. Not at all like the military men you were surrounded with on such a constant basis. Not at all like…
You can hear both König and Ghost swear underneath their breaths. Releasing the hold on your bracelet -- the one with the built-in comms button -- you shyly bite at your lower lip.
Phillip’s eyes track the movement, and if not for the stakes of this mission, it'd be almost comical.
"May I have this dance?" He asks, offering his arm for you to take. He’s adorning an obviously wealthy suit, dark blue and silky – and it rubs you in all the wrong ways.
You can hear your heart pound in your ears -- this wasn't the way the mission was supposed to go. But, then again, you didn't get into Task Force 141 by expecting every mission to go as planned.
"I would love to, Sir," you smile, wrapping your hand around his arm, allowing him to escort you to the main dance floor.
Subtly folding your hands together around his arm, you're able to push down the button on your bracelet. "You want us to dance in the middle of everyone? I'm not the best of dance partners..."
Phillip chuckles, but through your inner ear piece, you can hear König report, "Got eyes, Diamant."
Chills run down your spine. Either from this situation or…
Or something else that you're not entirely supposed to -- or allowed to -- feel. Not for those two men, and certainly not for your superiors.
"I'll lead you, darlin’," Phillip leans down to whisper into your ear, his lips brushing against your skin. They’re thin, and chapped against your own skin.
His hand moves to sit at your lower back, just above your ass, and the other moves down your arm to interlace your fingers with his. It's an intimate position, your front pressing against his as he starts to lead you with the beat.
Of course you knew how to dance; you wouldn't have been picked for this role if you couldn't.
However, you deliberately misstep a few times, just to play into Phillip’s ego -- his desire for control and intelligence.
"For such a beautiful girl, you sure aren't the smartest," he jests, and it takes everything within you not to just swing your fist and leave him twitching on the dance floor. You could, realistically speaking, but that would cost you all the mission. And you would not let yourself, nor König or Ghost, down.
Instead, you nervously flit your gaze from him, moving in closer to his chest. By his squeeze on your lower back, you know it's the right decision. "I... I'm doing my best, Sir."
You want to crawl out of your own skin at the way you’re feeding into his misogyny, how you’re downplaying your own strengths.
He huffs, a demeaning, cruel thing.
"I want to shoot 'im," you hear Ghost mutter, and you'd be a liar to say that those words in that tone don't make you clench your thighs together as you sway against Phillip.
"Make it a competition, ja?" König quips. There's... irritation -- anger, maybe -- behind his question. It's so unlike the gentle giant of a man, and that fact alone has your breath coming out in a short pant.
Phillip, of course, thinks it's him making you so flushed.
With a vindictive smirk, he spins you, completely throwing you off balance. Maybe a tad too dramatically, you find yourself falling into his arms, giggling a little bit.
...It's worth it to hear Ghost grumble under his breath through the comms.
This whole situation doesn't feel quite real, and you know that their attitudes are nearly definitely due to the stray in plans. That's fine. That's all it can possibly be. It’s all that you’ll allow it to be.
But your mind has never been kind, and your imagination has always had the habit of wandering.
"Let's go get some drinks, hm?" Phillip asks, his hand falling dangerously close to 'inappropriate hand placement' territory.
You shoot him a seductive smile, nodding as he pulls you to the open bar, his arm wrapped tight around your waist, leaving you glued to his side. It’s a possessive position, and you find yourself wishing it was either of your superiors holding you in such a way instead.
"Don't drink anything he offers you," Ghost warns. You almost have the mind to chew him out for not trusting you with something so obvious, but... There's something about such subtle
protectiveness that only feeds your elementary style crush on the man.
"I would love to," you reply as Graves leads you to the bar, hand only moving lower with every step the two of you take. Fear trickles down your spine, your hands squeezing tightly together at your front.
"Say the word and we get you outta' there, Princess," Ghost quips, sharp and to the point.
With your hands already together, you manage to reply an agreement in Morse code -- quick, successive taps of the communications button.
"Good girl," König replies, just a touch breathy from the quietness of his words.
You manage not to trip on your feet, but it's a close thing.
a small snippet, because i feel really bad for my lack of posts!! life is so insane atm its like a satire.
