What things smell like according to Logan Howlett/ The Wolverine. A series of smell based headcanons. Do with these whatever you want :)

People:

Ororo: burnt marshmellows, rain, chunky chocolate chip cookies, protien shakes, spansih rice, chillies, and cocoa butter. She always smells great.

Scott: cucumber shampoo, the remaints of a bonfire the next day, fresh dry cleaning, axe shower gel, lavender sheets

Jean: caramel latte, lavender sheets, vanilla spiced chai, books, mint ice cream, fruit smoothies, stinky hair product, lemon poppy seed muffins, sassafras

Hank: Books, sanatizer, various chemicals, a very specifc fur dander, kinda musky but in a 'im covered in fur and sweaty' kind of way.

Rouge: "Dolly Parton", brick and concrete dust, cherry blossoms body spray, freshly engraved wood, strawberries and milk conditioner, spicy gaucamole and freshly sizzled sausages.

Gambit: tv static, a fresh deck of cards at the casino, spicy jumbo, gin, lime jello, hair gel, "suprisingly good actually"

Kurt: brimstone, smoke from franckinsense, myrrh, a less smelling dander then hank, Holy chrism oil (olive oil and Balsam made by catholic priests), metal, and blue raspberry. Fur/ beard pomade sometimes for special ocassions.

Morph: even when changed he can smell is sandlewood shampoo, he smells like how "Jack Outta smell", latex, pine and cedar, clear nail polish, "that ugly quilt that your grandma kept on the back of her couch that was the warmest, softest thing you've ever slept with."

Charles: Old man fart, metal, chalk, shoe polish, nutmeg, wool, "a trusting hug", books, mahogany, expensive champagne.

Laura: "teen spirit", a shitty cheap "girl power" deodorant that doesn't do well hiding the sweat, apples and peaches, kinda woodsy.

Wade: Cancer, gun smoke, citrus dish soap, blood, oranges, taco sauce, infected skin once in awhile, red dye 40, slight over cooked and crispy apple pie, sugary cereal

Puppins: wet dog, dog dander, oatmeal senstive skin puppy shampoo, chicken, "the dirtest trash she can find to roll in on her walk"

Althea: Old lady, way too strong perfumes, butter biscuits, tea, peppermint candies, more cocaine, "baby powder", lanvender linens, cotton and daisy's Landry detergent.

Feelings/emotions:

Big/serious lies: smell like Gasoline and salty sand near the sea.

Small fibs/playful/ teasing lies: smell like Anise

Lies with decent intentions/are bent truths: smell like honey

Those two are easily mixed up.

Innocent (the person truly believes it. Ex. A child saying dinos are real) truth: smells like thick vanilla creamer.

Filling, whole truths (the person knows for a fact its a truth) smells: like fresh baked rolls/buns

Cancer smells vary like: urine, nail polish remover, some people have a pungent semi sweet smell like rotting fruit, and tar is another smell, depending on which part of the body. If already in late stages, one can smell like cadavers. Even spicy almost.

Pregnant people vary in scent but he can smell the rise of different hormones: Some hormones sweeter then other. If you asked him he would say cinnamon or dying roses. If you're later in your term the scents are more soft like lotion or custard. Lemon ussually.

Serotonin; cheese, lemon cakes, fruity, a bit light, and flakey like a pastry. Marshmellow fluff.

Dopamine; sweet fresh coffee, doritos(?), cocaine. Don't ask why he knows what cocaine smells like. He was alive during coke cocaine.

Endorphins; Sweaty Sex, mint, dark chocolate, violets, chemicals, varies by persons pheromones

Oxytocin; "playful cherries", freshly washed cotton pillows, the warmth of a bath, skin on skin hugs, strawberries

Joy/relaxation/relief: Jasmine, vanilla sugar cookies, fresh soup.

Anger/disapproval/hurt: smoke, the back end of a cigarette, spicy curry, iron, blood, "spoiled raw chicken left out too long"

Fear/excitment/anxiousness: Adrenaline smells like oil, paint, salty pretzels almost.

Tears: Oceans, lillies, fresh water lakes

It wasn't always odd to come home and find that your husband has given in for the day, laying on the couch all bored and droopy eyed.

What was odd (for most, but not Wade) was said husband jumping up to growl at you and give you a death glare as you walk in through the door, only to immediately look guilty and get off the couch. Walking to him, Logan puts his body against Wade, closing his eyes to nuzzle him, only to stop, starting to sniff all around him like when Puppins smelled another dog on him.

"Uh oh, vibe check." He mutters, used to this by now. In his hands, Wade was holding some takeout from the local Olive Garden and a coffee in the other. Holding them up so he couldn't spill them. Trying to sniff at the food, Logan stands on his tiptoes only to use a hand, pulling it down. "Excuse me, where are your manners?" Wade teases.

Sniffing the hell out of it, Logan huffs through his nose, giving Wade a glance of betrayal.

"What? I asked if you wanted to go to OG with me and Vanessa. You didn't wanna go."

"......" The head tilt makes him roll his eyes, playfully smiling. "But yes, I did, in fact, bring you back some breadsticks. Honestly, though, why don't you ever come with us? I mean, it's OG, not RL."

Red Lobster. Wade steps into the kitchen, setting down the food and starts to take off his coat.

"Then you can eat as many breadsticks as you want!- Hey, no. That's my parm. Don't mess with my parm, peanut." He says, pointing at him sternly with a glance, seeing Logan leaning over the counter, his nose nudging the bag as he proceeded to sniff.

"Oooh...Hi pup." He tests the waters, realizing what was going on. Logan has been stressed out recently. A bit too stressed out, with the big city and all, the noises, smells (and the fact Althea was on some kind of cartel trip with her 'girls' to LA this week) he was on edge. It seems either it got too much or he let himself go, becoming a state that was much similar to a nervous rescue.

Logan looked up, blushing, and tried to hide his face against the counter with his hands, whose fingers were curled up close to his palm.

Wade smiles, coming around to try to touch him, but Logan jolted away, lowering his head and baring his teeth.

"Okay- okay.." his hands go up as he comes to the hook where puppins harness and leash was, pulling a blue collar off the wall. Crouching, He holds out his hands, smiling. "Logan. Here pup." Wade whistles some, showing him the collar.

"You want this big boy? Or do you want your other one?" The one stuffed under his bed in a shoebox labeled 'Logan's, DON'T open'

Dropping down, he sniffs the collar, backing away if Wade moves at all, taking a step forward with such hesitantcy. "This one? Blue? Or your red one?" He asks, letting Logan take his time only to sit, holding still and looking at him through those gorgeous hazelnut eyelashes of his. "Good job, champ, good choice." He says, carefully snapping the nylon around his neck.

With the snap of the collar, Logan backs up, shaking his neck and body to relieve stress.

"Better?"

Without a word, he crawls away, going to the corner of the room where puppin's small round pink bed was, stepping into it and circled a bit before laying down. The majority of his body didn't fit inside of the bed. Curling up best he could, Logan pulls her hello kitty blanket over him, too.

"Oh.. i.. Wolvie I don't think you fit in there. And that's not yours.."

Seeing the big man on the floor usually meant he wanted to play, coming to him, puppins tail wagged going around to sniff and lick at him only for Logan to growl lowly. And not the good kind. The kind he rarely did, mainly when feral.

"Oh- No, Logan, no. That's her bed you can't-"

With a brisk walk, he goes to pick up Mary, not wanting anything to happen that might damage their trust in one another.

But Logan snapped, instantly getting up out of the bed, hairs raised, snarling at the both of them. He didn't like being cornered. And he didn't like Wade standing over him like that.

"Alright, alright.. but that's not yours." He says to him. "Your beds in the bedroom, remember? Come on, pup. Here puppy puppy puppy. This way!" But He didn't come, Puppins did.

He sighs, leaning down to pet her. "No, not you, silly girl. You're such a good girl but papas trying to- Logan? Peanut?" Wade stands, stepping back into the livingroom before finding him in the kitchen slowly pacing like a caged tiger.

"Whatcha doing, big boy?"

Flopping down on the cool tile, a deep sigh came from him as he lays here like an old dog trying to soothe the aches in its bones.

"What's wrong, pup?"

Logan only stares, his eyes cold and glazed over as if his mind was far from here.

"Oh.. I see." Crouching about 2 feet from him, Wade sits cross cross, his hands in his lap. "Logan baby... they're not coming to get you. I won't let them. I wouldn't ever let them get my puppy. You're okay. We'll be okay."

Still, he is still, curled with chin on the floor, his tag making a small jingle sound when he moves slightly away.

"Okay.. alright. I can take a hint." While Wade wasn't perfect at this yet, he totally understood when enthusiastic consent wasn't given. It was kind of their whole shtick.

Standing up, Wade walks away, deciding he should do something productive while Logan needed space, he needed a calm environment, somewhere safe and sound to remember his past. Process it. He wondered what triggered it this time. Was it being alone? He knew how clingy Logan was and he hated being along. But he asked if he wanted to come along! He really did. And he would have paid for all three of their meals too. He hated when Logan did this. When he agrees to something he can't handle because his 'manly man' state of mind, that needing to be with Wade at all times is-

When Wade starts to walk away, Logan's head perks up, tears softly streaming down his face as he stares, watching him leave the kitchen. The hot tears hit the tile with a tiny 'Tnk' that only he could hear. Standing up, he slowly, silently follows him. "....."

His head stays lowered, more tears hitting the carpet, his face wet and eyes glossy with cloudy glaze. Sitting down, He watched Wade work throughout the apartment, his eyes trailing him as he starts to fold clothes on the bed, litsening to him hum.

The dead stare he has is enough for Wade to jump when he turns around, seeing nothing but the bright teary eyes in the dark hallway.

"JESU- Logan! You're going to give me a... oh honey.. what's wrong, baby?" Putting the folded shirt down, he crouches down to him. "Can you tell me?"

Logan tilts his head, innocent and terrified all at once, puzzled as to why Wade was even speaking to him. As if Wade was speaking a language he didn't understand. His ears rung, a high pitched beep coming though his ear, the other side holding the rhythm of his own heart beat. It was loud. Too loud.

His eyes, wide and wet, staring at him, the salty stream drenching his shirt and dripping down his chin.

"Wuhan? Ahutz uonhg?"

His head tilts the other way, blinking just the once, still staring.

"Sentwart?"

Wade takes a step forward. Logan's pupils get smaller, baring his teeth again. He can feel the growl inside his tight throat.

It's now that he realizes his stomach hurts. When was the last time since they fed him? Turning, He scampered away with a glance behind him, being sure Wade wasn't following him. He didn't like him right now. He smelled weird, he talked weird, his eyes stung, he didn't want him to touch him, but he didn't want to be alone either.

Coming back to the kitchen, he began to sniff at the bowl on the floor, trying to determine if it was safe to eat or not. Mmh... it didn't smell poisoned.. didn't smell good either. But it smelt better than some of the other mush he's been fed before. Taking a bite, he began to chew it up, making a scrunch in his nose at how dry the food was.

The small pitter patter of feet running over made Logan start to growl lowly again, pulling the bowl closer to him and tensed up, putting his bared teeth in front of the tiny dog.

There was a snarl and a yelp. A scream of pain. At least that's what Wade thought. Rushing out of the room, he gasps, witnessing Mary on her back and Logan standing over her. "Logan!! That's enough! Off! Go!" Shooing him, the man flinches away, backing up as he picks her up, Searching for bite or claw marks. Turns out she had just been so scared that she had just pissed herself, and was not injured.

Wagging her little tail, She licks Wade's face submissivly, looking guilty for peeing on the floor but not as much as Logan, Who's eyes were huge, looking up at him with his head almost all the way to the floor, limbs close to him.

"You can't do that, pup! She's tiny! And you can't eat dog food?? Why are you eating dog food? Are you hungry?"

Logan doesn't say anything. He doesn't even move. He only whimpers, But he's so stiff that Wade knows if he tried to go near him, Logan would bite his leg.

Sighing, He puts puppins down, letting her go to her food bowl. Logan shifts, pulling his head back up with a growl.

"Hey! Leave it! That's hers. I won't let you be mean to her, I know you're going through some stuff right now but you can't eat dog food Logan!" He expresses, his voice strained and stressed himself. "Puppins is your friend. You can't... You can't... She's not a wolf, peanut. She dosn't understand when you-"

Logans eyes are back on puppin's glaring as if this was her fault. He was being scolded because SHE tried to take the food HE was eating. He wasn't - no. Couldn't- process that this wasn't even his food to be gaurding.

Wade sighs. He needed Logan to understand this, that his wolf like corrections weren't going to work on the tiny bald dog. He didn't want to have too, but he felt there was no other way.

"Bad boy, Logan."

His head jerks up to him, mouth slightly open.

"That's a very bad boy!"

His entire demenure changes. The tears get thicker as he blinks, sniffling and looking at him as if he just kicked him in the stomach. His heart strings snapping as he stared at the ground, whining and shamfully went back to the kitchen, curling up in the corner.

He was bad ....and that was finale.

Wade had said it, immediately regretting it as he followed him trying to apologize, but it was as if Logan couldn't even hear him or just blatantly ignoring him..

"Alright, alright.. well...No. I can fix this. We can fix this. I really am sorry, though. I didn't mean it I just -" seeing Logan not even blink, he was convinced that he was millions of miles from here, mentally in a forest somewhere, burrowed and alone. "Okay- You stay here. Okay? You stay here and I'll get you your own stuff. Mkay, big boy? Here. I'll turn on your playlist. Come on, puppins. You can't stay with Daddy today. Were going to the pet store, princess!" He says, the little dog wiggling around as Wade clasps the harness around her.

Why wade Wade leaving him? Was he really that mad at him?

Logan's head perks up for a split second, watching Wade clip the leash onto her. Why was he taking puppins and not him? Oh yeah...

Why would Wade ever love a bad dog like him?

He wouldn't..

His head lowered back onto the floor, a sigh coming from his lungs as his eyes began to sting again, tears falling into his chops and down the crease of his nose.

"Oh! Right almost forgot-" clicking a few buttons, the speaker began to play. Turning it down a bit, Logan I'm going to the pet shop. Ill be back soon. Here, have some bread sticks. No more dog food! And stay out of the trash. I love you, wolvie... please don't do anything stupid while I'm gone.." he says, shutting the door behind him.

He turns away from the bag of bread sticks, curling up tighter on the cold floor.

..He wouldn't.... but he promised..
