Please stop sigmatizing small phalluses.
We see it in almost every queer space we go, and it is humiliating, degrading, and saddening that our own community can be so intersexist, altersexist, and transphobic, without even seeming to realize it.
We know that "small dick - big dick" is a joke, a meme, but frankly, its just not funny. Phallus size has been stigmatized and mocked so much that its caused countless people gender dysphoria, sex dysphoria, body dysmorphia, depression, anxiety, and stigma. This stigma leads to a lot of people with small phalluses having a more difficult time getting into relationships, because people are judgmental of their bodies. Small phalluses don't make a person bad in bed, nor is it something to be ashamed of.
Not only that, but it is rooted in intersexism. Micropenises are an intersex trait, and yet it is belittled, laughed at, and treated like some joke. People's bodies are not jokes.
Mockery of small phalluses, even if done with good intent or in "good fun", stigmatizes and humiliates real intersex people - people with congenital buried penises, clitoromegaly, fused labia & clitoromegaly, and similarly structured genitals. Please read (and reblog) about intersex variations & traits here, for a better understanding and compassion for their community - a community that very frequently overlaps with the trans community, and is a part of the LGBTQIA+ community as a whole.
It also stigmatizes altersex, transsex, transmasc, and non-binary people. This includes those that desire/have metoidioplasties and that desire/have T-dicks or enlarged clitorises. It also includes those that have penises/phalluses, and take estrogen (or intersex people who produce high estrogen) that causes phallus shrinking. It makes many people feel sad and ashamed of their genitals, as if there is something wrong with them.
We mean no hate to anyone that has made these jokes in the past. This post is simply a plea to expand your mindset, and think of the psychological and social damage those jokes do to real people.
Please reblog to spread awareness.

(ID in alt text)
Been thinking of posting some of my characters here, and I have a collection of intersex, altersex, and trans characters, so I made these banners to avoid confusion about which is which, as it's important to me that people understand that intersex does not equal altersex, and that not every character or person that doesn't fit into the usual expectations for their assigned gender/sex is trans.
These are free to use! I made more than I need because I'm a completionist like that. You don't need to credit me, although I'd appreciate it.
(divider not by me, btw! I got it from chachachannah!)

A[n intersex-inclusive] progress pride flag that explicitly includes disabled, altersex, a-spec, and ethically non-monogamous people.
The altersex symbol and intersex symbol interlock, to showcase unity within the varsex community.
The a-spec compass and ethically non-monogamous heart are both within a single symbol, to showcase the unity of going against amatonormativity.
Whenever I reblogged this post by @dhddmods, the flag and its meanings above got lost, so I'm reposting. -Ap

altersex and transsexual people can be both biological sexes without being intersex and its not intersexist or taking anything away from intersex people to acknowledge that. you cant become intersex if you weren't born intersex but you can transition to have mixed sex characteristics and be biologically both sexes, sex is not a static binary that is determined when you're created and you can, in fact, change it

queer discourse tumblr will be like "this group of queer people face hate crimes and this is obviously the fault of this other group of queer people and not the perpetrators" and not see anything wrong with it

To all those questioning if you're intersex
It's valid to call yourself intersex if you have PCOS
It's valid to call yourself intersex if the diagnosis you have isn't on one of the standard lists of intersex diagnoses
It's valid to call yourself intersex if your intersex variation wasn't evident at birth (most aren't!)
It's valid to call yourself intersex if your intersex variation was one where puberty Did Not Go To Plan
It's valid to call yourself intersex if you have totally ordinary genitals
It's valid to call yourself intersex if the only signs that you're intersex show up on lab tests/imaging and otherwise there's no way somebody could tell from looking at you
It's valid to call yourself intersex if you never had any coercive medical interventions
It's valid to call yourself intersex if you identify your sex as male or female (we are not a third sex!)
It's valid to call yourself intersex if you don't look like how white people with your intersex variation look
It's valid to call yourself intersex if you only found out through freak happenstance as an adult
It's valid to call yourself intersex if you think you were misdiagnosed
It's valid to call yourself intersex if no doctor ever told you you're intersex
It's valid to call yourself intersex if your doctor(s) dispute whether your diagnosis counts an intersex condition (it's not up to them!)
It's valid to call yourself intersex if you feel your intersex variation is a health condition
It's valid to call yourself intersex if you don't like the way you look
It's valid to call yourself intersex if you do like the way you look
It's valid to call yourself intersex if you started your questioning as part of a gender journey
It's valid to call yourself intersex if you started questioning to figure out trauma from your youth
It's valid to call yourself intersex if you started questioning to find other people like you
It's valid to call yourself intersex if you started questioning your intersex status just because you wanted to know
FINAL NOTE: you don't need to be 100% certain you're intersex to start finding, following, and getting involved in intersex spaces. People will understand if you're questioning, and it's the best way to find out if the label fits you! <3

I just wanna make it known that you can have mixed genitalia if you want. You don't have to have one or another. When I was younger I was very adamant about not wanting or needing bottom surgery. This was because I was only aware of one kind of bottom surgery. I wasn't aware that I could have both a penis and a vagina. And now I want bottom surgery for this reason. Getting top surgery also made my want for bottom surgery increase. I simply want to share that this is possible and want to share this information in case there is anyone else who was like me and didn't know that this was an option.

i have watched several trans friends, roommates & partners start testosterone and let me tell you, it is an absolute joy every time. i love the joy and excitement, looking forward to feeling and looking like themselves. there are moments of doubt and fear but it's good to be able to reassure and let younger trans folks how things will go, what to expect, and how to find clinics that will help. it's wonderful to help someone become who they're meant to be. it's awesome

Assigned Neither At Creation

Why?
Cuz not everyone was born!!!!! Sum r non human (for example may b a robot/AI, or in my case, an alien, through otherkinship nd fictionkinship) nd r a species who don’t go thru the traditional birthing process, or they may be an alter in a DID/OSDD system who feels as tho they were never “born”, but instead split off/created!!!

if you hear "altersex people want mixed sex characteristics" and think that means we "want to be intersex" then thats a you problem, thats a problem with you cutting the intersex experience down to just mixed sex characteristics and not thinking about how you have to be born intersex and it often comes with medical issues, non-consensual surgeries, and forced hrt
