If Adrien somehow wasn't chosen, who would you like to see as a black cat holder?

Oh dear, that is a very tricky question! Honestly, I don't think there is a character I want to see as the Black Cat holder specifically, but there are some that I think would be nice options and interesting to follow!

I guess you mean the canon setting and not my AU? Because I would be tempted to pick an adult - for the unlimited use of Cataclysm and because, come on, a teen would need the presence of an adult while she's constantly fighting villains!! - buuuuut... seeing how adults are in the show, I have some doubts! xD

So I willingly choose to take asides the tropes "Adults are useless". And here is the list of characters I think would be nice for the Black Cat if Adrien couldn't become Chat Noir:

Canon characters:

Tom Dupain-Cheng, I know it might surprise some, but it could suit him. If you take how protective he is towards his daughter, he would be a suitable BC holder and accept to go in the front line while Ladybug figures out her lucky charm or just keep her from harm.

Penny Rolling, she's very reliable and takes her job(s) seriously. She would rock her role and outfit (haha, sorry). Also, she's very well-organised, seems to adapt quickly, and is good at following someone else's directions whilst being strategic.

Alya Césaire, she was pretty good with the Ladybug Miraculous, but I think she'd be better with the Black Cat. But it's mostly a gut feeling and taking her stubbornness and brashness into account.

Alix Kubdel, while I have mixed feelings about Bunnix's role and powers, it does show that Alix can be reliable and wise: you don't want to give Time powers to just anyone! So she could be trusted with the power of Destruction. Also, she'd definitely be a sassy Black Cat and would know how to annoy the villains, it would be fun to watch/read!

Canon but "blank slate" characters

Okay, I admit that this is more a wish list of "I want this background character to get more screen time and development"!

Gisèle (Caline's wife for those who don't know/remember), I just love her design and have a feeling she'd be a good holder for this Miraculous.

Alim Kubdel, not sure why, I mostly like his relationship with his daughter. It would be quite ironic because his job is museum curator XD , but it would also mean he would be careful with this power and not abuse it.

Mireille Caquet, I guess Aurore has her fanbase, so why Mireille wouldn't have one?

DID Ghost x Soap

Ghost noticed how people flinched when he spoke or tensed when he walked into a room, everyone feared 'The Ghost'. They feared his cold demeanor, his skill with a weapon, his blank stare that just seemed to look right through you. 

But very few people knew the truth, the fact that the real threat wasn't his antisocial behavior but was actually his humanity, the part of him that wished to give back the cruelty that he had endured.

Simon was the bloodthirsty monster born from human cruelty that lived in his chest. Simon was the thing that emerged along with the rage, the itch to make something scream. Simon was an untamable, rabid dog that was all too eager to bite the hand that feeds, quick to meet even the smallest gesture of kindness with an open maw and violence. 

So Simon was hidden away behind impenetrable walls and a reinforced steel door, but Ghost could still feel him pacing the length of his cage, just waiting for the smallest hint of weakness to exploit in order to get free.

And his patience was rewarded when Soap --Johnny-- had been forced to dig his own grave under the brutal heat of sun after a mission gone horribly sideways, the various injures littering his body lazily oozing blood as he worked under the watchful eye of their captors. 

Ghost had three men flanking him, forcing him to remain on his knees and just watch as one of the men stepped forward with the command to stop and hand over the shovel. And Johnny, who was rebellious even now after the countless days of torture he'd endured, swung the blade of the shovel at the man's head, the metal connecting with his skull with a sharp crack.

The man crumpled to the ground as four men rushed forward to divest Soap of his makeshift weapon, the man's blood pouring out onto the dirt under his caved in head. 

Ghost felt a well of pride and had to surpress the urge to smile, since he was currently maskless, but all his mirth quickly melted into rage when the sound of the safety being flicked off a gun ringing out through the air before the muzzle of that very same gun was pointed directly at Soap's forehead.

Soap stopped struggling and held carefully still, the familiar burn of venom that followed a scorpions sting lighting up Ghost's limbs as Simon began to bodily throw himself at the door, snarling incoherent threats when Soap was corraled backward until he was standing at the edge of the hole he just dug.

The man was speaking but Ghost couldn't hear anything over the high pitched ringing in his ears, flashes of his own grave flitting across the forefront of his mind, and the hinges on the door keeping Simon contained gave with a deafening snap. 

So yes, Simon was a hidden part of Ghost, something so broken that it had lost all sense of purpose other than to survive. But survival had always meant being the bigger monster, it meant learning how to kill and how to carry the blood of both the innocent and the damned on his hands.

The price was Simon's kindness, his compassion, his ability to love in a way that wouldn't ruin whatever he touched. 

Which is why Ghost should have took heed of the warning signs of Simon's growing obsession with his Sergeant when he came back to himself caked in gore and viscera with Johnny's hand on his bare face, should have been worried by the soft look in Johnny's eyes, the vulnerable display of emotion out of place in a clearing with an empty grave and a number of mutilated bodies.

But by the time he'd realized what he'd stupidly let happen, any attempt at separation would've only resulted in bloodshed with Johnny potentially caught in the crossfire, and Ghost himself was in much too deep to do anything that would hurt Johnny.

Don is the embodiment of 90s alternative culture, particularly crust punk and skater culture. He dresses in a grungy/punk style that involves torn jeans (ripped either naturally over time or by hand), flannel shirts with patches sewn all over them, and high tops that he keeps until they're completely worn out. He likes making DIY projects/zines and sharing them online and with friends. Despite the disarray in which he tends to keep his room, he can always find his craft supplies and albums. It also likes going to punk shows, finding these as good opportunities to socialize as well as to get its feelings of anger out. It holds more anger than most members of his system, which sometimes comes out of nowhere. This includes feeling frustration to a stronger degree than others, as well as having general anger towards deserved targets (e.g. those who have mistreated the system, or at injustices). However, Don is good at distracting xself from xs anger, using music and DIY projects to cope. Xe makes zines and music about how xe feels, and he doesn't mind sharing these coping skills with other headmates who have issues with emotional self-regulation.

The mirror is not a mirror. Its a jewellery holder. I bought this mirror for £5 at a car boot sale when I was about 15 years old. It's served me well for the last 27 years. I've always used it more for jewellery, the curly bits lend themselves to that, and it means when they're not being worn they're still decorative to the room.

There's far too much here for me to go through it all, though the vast majority is thrifted or I've had for decades and I forget where its from. However, shoutout to my friend for the rosary style necklace (here's a post I did about them in more detail which includes a link to her etsy shop). She also made the green lady and the heart with the eye in it at the top and the dragon eye. I think they were all done with air drying clay.

I also assembled a few myself (can't really say I properly "made" them), the ones you see on velvet ribbons, and I have a full post about how I did that here.

Many of these were found or thrifted. The two sets at the top left are my Good Omens earrings that I put together with charms and beads, the onyx teardrops were my wedding earrings, the flies are by Katie Whittle, the Krampus ones were bought at a comic con but unfortunately I've forgotten the details of the seller (a shame because she had lots of other cool stuff).

The ravens I got from Etsy, but they're originally Ali Express. Be careful with etsy, there are a lot of sellers who claim their stock is handmade but are really re-selling items from Ali Express, Wish or Temu. Initially I found these for £19 ("on sale", regular price supposedly £30). All the seller had done was put an earring hook on them, which I really don't think qualifies them as handmade or warrants such a price hike. I did a search for "crow charm" and found them being sold elsewhere on etsy for £5. Then I did a reverse image search and found the original Ali Express listing where they can be bought for £2.37.

I did buy the £5 etsy ones for the convenience of having them shipped from the UK, but I would always advise checking more than one shop, or using Google lens/reverse image searching if you suspect an etsy item might not be legit.

You may notice, none of my earrings have hooks or posts on them. This is because my ears are stretched (the right has been 16mm for many years, and I'm currently stretching up the left to match, at present it's 5mm), so I can't wear conventional earrings.

You can get special plugs or tunnels that you can hang a hook earring from, but they usually make it very front-heavy which I don't like. I prefer the weight evenly distributed across my whole ear.

So, I simply remove the hook or post from any earrings I buy using jewellery pliers, and when I want to wear a set I hang them from a hinged segment ring (bottom left on my pin board, very cheap online), and put the ring through my tunnel. You just have to make sure there is a loop of some kind left at the top of the earring that you can put the segment ring through.

And if I want to wear them hanging from another of my lobe piercings I can do that too 😉. All my regular piercings are 1.2mm.
