TGCF Book 3 Reaction pt. 6 - We are going to Mt. Tonglu!

hahaha. So, funny thing. I got impatient and just breezed though the last two books and consumed all of the post-canon content I could find. But, even though I have finished TGCF, that doesn’t mean I didn’t leave notes that I want in big chunks like this. So I will continue working on this

I mean, Regina would have made Henry heir to her throne and then she is not Queen due to line of succession even though she was born a princess. Couldn’t King George change the law if he wanted? It may have been an issue if the secret was the reason he wanted to kill David’s father. Oh, in England it’s been illegal for centuries apparently. That is beyond stupid! What are you gonna do if the next in line to the throne is asexual or gay and wants to adopt or just wants to only adopt? Not that I’m a fan of the concept of royalty in the real world but that’s straight up discrimination! Laws may be different in the EF though. I just can’t remember why George wanted to kill David’s dad.

Why didn’t Regina give those hearts back once she decided to turn over a new leaf? I know she said she took so many she lost track but if everyone who’s heart was taken came forward, they might be able to figure it out through trial and error.

She really was hoping to get with this Robin so that they could be part of each other's fresh starts. But wouldn’t that feel like a betrayal to the other Robin? It’s kinda like replacing him with a copy.

Pleasure island makes me feel so uneasy. I used to be terrified of Disney’s Pinocchio. Pleasure island is just creepy in that movie.

I hate the fact that they put Pinocchio in the flashback of this episode so much. If we’re to assume this puppet is physically 6 or 7 then he’s probably older than David! He must have remained physically a 6 or 7 year old puppet for at least 20 years. I liked him being closer to Emma’s age. Why did they retcon this? And this Pinocchio has so much more attitude than the young Pinocchio we’ve seen in previous episodes.

I love James’ Prince outfit! It’s so cool! Omg! I’ve just realised it’s the same outfit the prince wears in the Snow White Disney movie!! How have I not realised this before?!

James doesn’t want to kill things! George completely manipulated him. He had a good heart and why would George do this to his frightened son?? And he’s only 6! So cruel!

Nope. That doesn’t make sense. No way August took the pages about Pinocchio out of the book. Henry had already read the whole book by then. The whole idea was that August added the story of Pinocchio to help Emma figure things out or something. Henry said the Pinocchio story wasn’t there before when he got his book back.

I feel so sad for James. He’s just a kid. Leave him alone! Let him run through the forest and sing to birds, as Disney princes should. George basically got James killed. Just be a decent father, George and don’t be so cruel to your own freaking son. Jeez! I bet he was a horrible, controlling husband too. He is so controlling! 

Random thought but I kinda ship James with Zelena. They both had terrible fathers. Zelena had two! I wonder if she ever met her other dad. Would she have pulled a Tom Riddle and killed him? 

David’s dad stood his ground. He was told of James’ father’s abuse and tried to protect James, even knowing he would pay dearly. And then afterwards no one was left to protect James. Maybe his mother did before she died and maybe that’s when George began trying to force him to become a knight. I like to think his mother was loving to him until she died when he was young like Zelena’s was. They got a taste of unconditional love in their early years and then it was torn away from them and replaced with control and/or contempt.

This guy has just told James he is his biological father, George acknowledges this and then tells them to kill him in front of Janes?! How freaking heartless!

Look how angry David was when he thought he’d found the man who killed his father. Then when he realises it was Killian he’s like “it’s all cool bruh. We chilling at Granny’s tonight?” Let. The. Charmings. Express. Their. Anger. And. Pain. It’s like Regina and Killian are Gods to them who can do know wrong, require instant forgiveness and nothing must be spoken against them. As for other villains, good freaking luck! And if your one of the Charmings or considered a hero from the start, if you so much as look at someone the wrong way you are the worst most evil villain in existence. Like Eva. Due to her deeds, which I agree weren’t nice, Regina considered her the villain as compared to freaking Cora. What??! She was the bully in that situation, yes, but how can you compare her misdeeds to Cora’s?!

Interesting choice for August to give Killian the pages with him killing David’s dad. He should have given them straight to David. Maybe that’s what Wish Pinocchio meant when he said that Emma put her faith in him and that he hopes she never does that again. I love August but maybe Blue imbued him with some of her shadiness when she turned him into a real boy.

And Killian was naughty to look at those pages. Or maybe that moment wasn’t part of those pages. Maybe Killian just recognise the face of the man he ruthlessly killed!

The thing is, why would Killian care if he saw him kill the King’s men? He’s spent years rebelling against royalty. I’m sure he’s known by now. 

Killian must be taking one of his trips from Neverland ordered by Pan at this point.

The heartlessness! He hears the man has a family and a child, he believed him and then kills him horribly afterwards. This has got to be one of the evilest things Killian ever did. And it’s Emma’s grandfather!!

Even one of his crewmates is look looking at him like “Wtf.” It makes me so angry. Don’t get me wrong, I actually think it was a great twist, but I hate how it was handled. I hate that David, who was so hurt by this didn’t get to express his anger at Killian towards him or at all. That’s just not realistic. I guess he was following how Snow forgave Regina for killing her father. But even that took many years, not freaking minutes!

At least tell Emma.

Timetravel au where the RWBY+JRN+Oscar end up back in time during the start of the series and they all have to lay low pretending to be their past selves so they won't get caught but they sometimes get confused which version of someone they're talking to like Blake would be trying to act like her season 1 self and Ruby's just like 'blake it's me' 'oh thank god' but it's really hard for them to see everything back when it was peaceful and JNR has a hard time seeing pyrrha alive 1/2

2/2 but eventually they decide they have to warn people about Cinder so they go to Ozpin and then there's the adults like Ironwood all making a big fuss about what they should do and if they should believe the kids meanwhile Oz is kinda eying Oscar because he knows Oscar is his next incarnation &this is the first time he's known who his next incarnation is going to be which means he can prepare like never before but Oscar's like 'no I know what you're doing you want to kidnap past me stop it' 

RWBY Time travel anon here, 1. Please consider Oscar meeting Ozpin and finally having someone understand what it's like to be an incarnation of Ozma& having someone able to teach him and get rid of some misconceptions he has 2 Please also consider past Oscar waking up on his farm one day only to have all these really important huntresses and huntsmen trying to get him to join a hunter school, Ironwood& Crow are fighting over custody of Ozs next incarnation &past Oscar is like 'wtf is happening?'

Speaking of that dramatic info-dump, I’m already thinking about That Conversation with Ozpin and Oscar because same hat my dear anon I’d love for Oscar to have the chance to talk to someone else, openly, who gets it. Who knows everything he knows now, and can’t lock himself away, and who gets it. 

I think (if this somehow happened just after volume 6 and present!Oz is still keeping his distance) Oz would at the very least speak up to Oscar in private, even if he doesn’t know what’s going on. I think he’d warn Oscar against talking to Ozpin, or letting on to Ozpin who Oscar is. It could lead to too many ideas or thoughts or emotions about things they have no actual power to change or control. That it would probably cause more problems than it solves (he’s not exactly wrong)

They do a pretty good job just writing Oscar off to the Oz Crew as just a kid they picked up in Mistral. They get through the conversation about timelines and where to go from here and what to do next without Oscar’s history or Oz’s backstory coming up. They’re pretty sure they can brush it off

but then everyone’s leaving Ozpin’s office and Ozpin says: Mr. Pine, If I could speak with you a moment?

Oscar’s nervous, and Oz wants him to leave, but Oscar’s pretty sure there’s no getting out of it. Then it’s just Oscar with Ozpin behind his desk. 

Ozpin’s looking out the window with his mug, and he asks: How old are you, Oscar?

Oscar says: Almost fifteen.

Ozpin sighs. He has to set his mug down. He asks: How long?

Oscar: I’m... I’m sorry?

Ozpin: How long have I been with you?

(Ozpin figured it out. Not right away, but through little things and little realizations stacking up. “I stand like that” “He asks the questions I want to ask” “He keeps looking to the side like he’s listening to somethi-- oh snap”)

(Step four: cry)

When the secret’s out to the past!RWBYJNPR teams that the future!RWBYJNR teams are there (because of course it gets out) Jaune marches up to himself, points to Pyrrha across the room and is like

“DO YOU SEE HER? LOOK AT HER. NO, LOOK AT HER AGAIN.”

Then he smooshes his face in his hands and is like

“You sweet summer imbecile take her on a date before the sun sets or I will fill you bed with molasses”  

From here it’s like re-imagining season 3 but with all these extra characters. Imagine the training fights oh man 

I kinda love the image of Oscar just hanging out in Ozpin’s office a lot, like during class periods he would otherwise enroll in if he wasn’t even younger than Ruby was when she started at Beacon. A 15 year old prodigy from a family of huntsmen and huntresses who’s been to combat school and breaths huntressing? okay. a 14 year old who’s never been to combat school, picked up a weapon less than a year ago, as is escalating in skill faster than conceivably possible? that’s a raised eyebrow or twelve

After witnessing several criticism about MK (Masquerade kiss)

Hopefully this will be my last post about MK for awhile, until new route for Kazuomi releases (no guarantee though. I might go on and spam my tumblr again😂).

I have seen several criticism about mk MC and Kazuomi. I, in advance, want to say that I do respect everyone's opinion. Not everyone will like this game, we all have different preferences/tastes. I still want to express about how I felt about this game regardless. Please do NOT take any offend for it. This is just my view of how I saw it.

As we all know, mc in MK is spy/agent who is supposed to infiltrate all secret "drug deals". On top of that, this mc is not our average 'happy go lucky' mc. This mc have no problem snapping at her "love interest", keeping a poker face, and holding a weapon/gun. But she also has a side that's genuine like other MCs we saw in other games. She also craves that someone will see the real her, hidden behind the "mask" (implied in Kazuomi's route). This both daring, savage but genuine mc made me like her. Here is where opinions crash:

1. MC is a "bad" agent. I agree to some degree with this statement, but I also do disagree. I agree because if she really was a "good" agent with excellent instincts, I feel like she should have confidently doubted that Kazuomi was part of drug dealing. I mean girl, you spend like 24/7 (if not, 18/7) with him HOW CAN YOU NOT GET IT WHEN YOU ARE A TOP CLASS AGENT. But it is not like she 100% suspects him. After their Thailand trip, MC starts doubting and 'hopes' that Kazuomi wasn't into any drug deals. It wasn't "confident" doubt though.

I disagree because I do feel like MC did extremely feel pressured by her boss. Mc clearly sees her boss as a role model, and has respect for him. I almost want to say that he was a "bad" boss for pressuring her so much. Maybe if he just said "expose whoever is related to drug dealings", it would have been better. Also the whole thing about penalty for failing a mission being 'death'... might have pressured her too. Don't forget, MC did HOPE. Like Kazuomi said in his POV, if mc wanted to quit, she could have asked him to help. But one, she won't 'quit' that easily. Two, she doesn't even know how kazuomi feels about her yet. Even if she did wanted to quit, she probably wouldn't have asked Kazuomi for help at this point (maybe later season she might). Besides... if they didnt have this part of the story, the story might have been SUPER DULL.

She totally isn't a bad spy. She is "trained", and she actually knows how to" do stuff". On top of that, she is GORGEOUS. She does have her clumsy moments, but that makes it more relatable and approachable. If she was just this "perfect agent" with no cracks, how is she different from the love interest (*cough* I am looking at you Yuzuru) ? If she didnt have any cracks in her mask, I would have gotten irritated more than those MCs in other games. I know Kazuomi figured out her identity pretty early on, but that is because Kazuomi probably saw or faced a lot of people. That's how his character is set up. Compared to other MCs, this MC's development was pretty well done in my opinion.

Kazuomi the "womanizer"

I understand many people being upset about this. During his chapter 1 or 2, it starts out by Kazuomi seducing a woman in his office (mc hears it). I mean, to be quite honest, I was like 'WTF?!' too. Yeah, we immediately get a negative first impression of Kazuomi. [Btw that woman's identity and intention are revealed along the way (end of chapter 3 and 22). In fact, she was actually in love with Matsuno (the manager), not Kazuomi. She was doing what Matsuno wanted her to do. ] But remember, even Eisuke had bunch of "one night stand" before MC stepped into his life. It just wasn't 'shown' in the game. So why is it that Kazuomi is getting different reaction? In fact, Kazuomi NEVER brought any of those girls into his bedroom, nor ever went on a trip with them. Kei and Yuzuru were ones who has excess to his apartment, and at the end MC does too. I know that his description depicts him as 'womanizer'. Partially because he feels 'lonely' and want to get away from feeling 'empty' (like Kei describes). But he isn't the type to go around and 'play' when he has his eye set on one girl. I am obviously speaking by only playing his MS, but if voltage is going with those cliche billionaire scenario, there is no way that Kazuomi will remain 'womanizer' after main story. He is 'loyal' man behind that womanizing mask.

So… Blue Angel is a storybook character now?

you know..my girls are complicated x) 

(quick backstory if u don’t know: parents were killed when the legion attacked, they fled into the wilds with their nightsabers. diily more or less had to raise her sisters despite being a child herself. they just wandered from place to place with their cats for a long time, just trying to survive. (they were kinda raised by nightsabers lmao. they’re very close to their sabers) Eventually Diily and Alaluria settled and became sentinels. Ladelia studied magic in secret since at that point arcane magic was a NO NO for elves after all that..sundering shit.

Diily and Alaluria ended up being some of Tyrande’s most trusted sentinels. This is where Alaluria ended up meeting Illidan. She fell so hard for this dumbass and genuinely agreed with his views on the war and such. (unlike Diily) and she ended up taking off and joining the Illidari later on leaving Diily and Ladelia alone.

Diily and Ladelia had no idea Illidan was trying to save the world and instead saw this as her joining the Legion. So naturally there’s a huge amount of pain and betrayal there Then as we know Illidan and the Illidari get locked up and just recently were let go and here we are! She’s been reunited with her sisters) 

Alaluria and Diily have a complicated relationship. They’re very close but Alaluria taking off to join Illidan was a devastating blow for both Diily and Ladelia (especially since at that time it was viewed as Illidan = Legion) And they’re still trying to heal the wounds from that but none of them have ever stopped loving the other. Even when they hated each other. In some ways it has helped them. 

It helped Diily let go of Alaluria and now she understands Alaluria needs to forge her own path. And it’s allowed Alaluria create her own identity beyond her family. (for better or for worse lmfao Illidari ftw) 

Ladelia and Diily are very close. They haven’t ever been apart for very long really? She’s learned from Alaluria though and is beginning to understand she can’t hold on quite so tight. Even if it’s scary letting them go. (”I will always hold you close but I will learn to let you go~” no but really Light by Sleeping at Last is completely perfect for Diily and her baby sisters. im emotionalllll)

Alaluria and Ladelia are close as well but that relationship is complicated too. Ladelia has more or less forgiven her for her actions now that she understands Alaluria didn’t fuck off and join the Legion. Diily has to for the most part although there’s still quite a bit to work through. 

Alaluria however...has been locked up in a cell for how many years? Diily and Ladelia have been out adventuring that entire time. there’s a closeness between Diily and Ladelia that Alaluria kind of resents sometimes She should have been there with them..but she was locked up in a damn cell. She almost feels out of place at times now. 

They’re all just getting to know each other again. And healing from some very serious emotional wounds. There’s still some anger and hurt there definitely but there’s so much love there as well. They’ll figure it out and they are. They’re all becoming close again and hopefully in a more healthy way. 

The three of them have all had a rather...codependent relationship with each other. How could they not? They grew up only having each other? Diily was more or less a child and yet she had to be their sole parent figure. Her entire life was taking care of them. That was her sole purpose in life for a long time.

Alaluria doesn’t respond well to being controlled and that’s where her and Diily butted heads often. Alaluria is headstrong and hot tempered and both Diily and her are stubborn as hell. So that doesn’t help. As painful as her leaving was it taught them all a lot. (It was terrifying for Alaluria don’t be fooled by her gruffness. For the first time she was without her sisters and she was thrust into a very brutal environment. Traumatizing really) And both Diily and Delia were absolutely devastated but they had each other and that kept them going. 

But Ladelia and Alaluria? They’re Diily’s entire world. “Take care of your sisters.” Were some of her mother’s last words to her and that’s what she’s done. No matter the cost. No matter how much she has to sacrifice or give. She does. She’s done the best she could with what she had. 

God, losing both of them would break her. Do whatever you want to her just don’t hurt them. Although she has forged relationships of her own too along the way so I like to think she might be able to find solace and support in others if something did happen to them. It would be extremely difficult and a very long, hard road but I think so. She has friends. She has..Khadgar. But before all that? She couldn’t survive it. 

Oh! Speaking of jealousy. Admittedly Diily’s hatred of Illidan doesn’t come from a completely selfless place. That’s her little sister and he took her away. Of course that’s not entirely correct and she struggles with reminding herself of that. Alaluria made her own decision. Yet, she can’t help but view him as the man who took her baby sister away and...turned her into what she is today.

And of course there’s the obvious and main reasons she doesn’t like him. He’s Illidan fucking Stormrage. The Betrayer. Illidan ‘murder everybody for the greater good” Stormrage. She doesn’t trust him nor does she particularly like his arrogant ass He’s the worst possible choice for her sister in her eyes but..Alaluria loves him and she has to support her in that.

Ah. Alaluria loves him despite him being in love with another. Despite him being...well, illidan. And oh, Diily knows...this is going to end with Alaluria’s heart breaking. And she doesn’t want that. She wants to protect her from it but she can’t. We can’t choose who we love. 

She’s better at controlling it then Alaluria though. Alaluria doesn’t dislike Khadgar per say? But she’s often rather snippy with him and it’s for a similiar reason. She comes back and is starting to become close to her sisters again and there’s this...human taking up all her big sister’s time. She’s never been good with Diily’s significant others for that reason but this one is different. And she doesn’t want him to take her away.

Also she dislikes that he’s a human for several reasons. She has a bit of a superiority complex. Why wouldn’t Diily pick another night elf? Why a human of all races? Sure he’s powerful and intelligent but he’s..a human.

Ah...and he will die. He will die soon in her eyes because remember night elves live thousands of years. 80-90 is the average lifespan right? (and that’s not taking into account Khadgar’s borderline suicidal reckless nature and the fact that he’s fighting in a war) although mages have longer lifespans I think...still 100 years even isn’t much to them.  Human lifespans are so very short compared to theirs. He will die and it’s going to absolutely shatter her big sister’s heart. Why did he have to be the one she chose? She doesn’t want that to happen. She really doesn’t.

Ladelia has similiar concerns for Diily/Khadgar but she;s got a much more positive outlook? She just doesn’t think about it. If she doesn’t think about it..she’s not sad so...we’ll deal with that when it happens. Gotta enjoy the present you know? Also she adores Khadgar. Best big brother ever. 

Ladelia is..wary of Illidan. He’s Illidan but...she tries to give him the benefit of the doubt. Alaluria loves him so there must be something good about him, right? She tries to see the good in him for her sake. She’s much more tolerant of him than Diily. She knows it’ll end badly for Alaluria but like with Diily and Khadgar..you just gotta enjoy the present.

Ladelia doesn’t really have a relationship at the moment. She’s got an enormous crush on Jaina but that’s not going anywhere. (She’s AWOL plus in a relationship with kalec? I think? are they still together? who knows) So, she’s just sad about that. 

Alaluria has never met Jaina and Diily is fond of Jaina so there’s that. But for Alaluria she’s like...wtf they both keep falling for humans?? Human mages with issues?? why?? they’re so?? human

When Ladelia does get into a relationship (with anyone) heheh...she’s got two big sisters who are very protective of her. I almost feel for the person except Ladelia can hold her own and would call them out if they overstep. 

They’re family. Got a lot of issues but what family doesn’t? But they love each other unconditionally. 

They’re my babies. 

Hm perhaps I’ll make a post on Laeona and Allueneth if you guys actually enjoy reading this xD I had fun coming up with their backstory and relationship. (lady and the tramp trope incoming) and I love them. Sadly because..well I killed them.

(you know i think i gotta change their dad’s name. when i picked it i didn’t realize it was the same as that damn staff’s. I got it from a name generator and i mean sure it could be a coincidence. People have the same names all the time but it might get confusing. -shrug- haven’t decided yet)
