Itâs a mess
NCT 24th member / Dream 8th member
Beeâs Masterlist
âThe C in NCT stands for Chaos: A copilation of random moments during NCT 2020âł
requested by: anon
a/n: Feel free to share your thoughts with me. Requests are open!đ
âDo you know how to wink?â Sungchan asked Bee when they were sitting behind the scenes of the photoshoot. âSome members were struggling earlierâ
âYeah, I doâ She giggled, politely denying as he tried to pass her a bag of chips âThanks but I havenât done my solo shots yetâ
âOh, okayâ He nodded taking a mouthful âHow many members have finished already?â
âI think half of them must be doneâ She answered, giggling after a few seconds âSmall talk makes things awkward. Do you want to go see what the rest are doing?â
âYeah, letâs goâ. Getting up, they walked along the staff until finding Jungwoo and Kun talking on the side. Sprinting towards them, Bee crashed Kun in a hug while the two boys greeted each other.
âDo I want to know what youâre up to?â The oldest giggled as she bounced on her feet.
âWeâre just passing timeâ She said casually and Jungwoo shook his head, placing both his hands on the side of her face and turning it towards Kun.
âDonât trust this little face. Sheâs ready to backstab us at any pointâ Squeezing her cheeks together at the last word, the boys laughed at her confused face and let it go. âOh, Taeil Hyung. Let us get a word from youâ.
Approaching them carefully, Taeil laughed as Jungwoo threw his arm over his shoulder and began asking random questions about the weather.
âWhatâs going on right now?â Bee giggled to Sungchan who only shrugged, also entertained by the random switches to English on their conversation.Â
âOh, the sky is showing signs of gloominess so maybe later weâre going to get a rainstormâ Johnny showed up talking in some very quick English making Taeil smile while repeating âYesâ and the little group watching laugh a little lost.
âDonât you think that rain is good for the environment? That way the plants get watered, and itâs part of natureâs natural cycleâ Turning to her, Johnny kept babbling the first thing that came to his mind.
Staring with wide eyes, Beeâs face broke into a beaming smile as she spoke in English the first sentence she had remembered âNctzens are so pretty. Thank you for your love"
âWe actually grew close as a group, I donât think thereâs anyone who needs a little pushâ. Taeyong answered a comment that asked if there was anyone who was still awkward with each other.Â
The vlive before the music video was going quite smooth so far, allowing Bee to just watch and rest her head on Xiaojunâs shoulder.
âActually,â Jaeminâs voice interrupted them for looking at another question, and he smiled at the girl âI havenât seen Jaehyun Hyung and Bee interacting even nowâ
âOh, trueâ Lucas clapped nodding and Doyoung agreed âItâs only when weâre as a group, maybe we need to make an episode for themâ
âBut weâre not awkward with each otherâ The girl tried to defend herself by going back to the original question âWe just donât interact that muchâ
âIf we left the two of you alone it would probably get awkwardâ. Taeyong laughed at her pouting, Jaehyun also joining on her side saying âIt wouldnât, we actually went out for drinks a few weeks agoâ.
Falling silent, the room turned towards him frowning making the boy shrug with Doyoung and Jaemin gasping âYou what?â âWhen?â.
Bee nodded swinging her feet around and added towards Jaemin âI told you when I was leaving, you nodded and everythingâ
âI have no memory of such thingâ The boy frowned further âAre you lying to us?â.
âDo you have a picture or something to prove?â Doyoung asked laughing incredulous and Jaehyun pulled out his phone, scrolling through the gallery as Bee laughed at their shocked faces.
âI canât show it to the cameraâ. He chuckled stealing a glance at the managers and turning his phone sideways. The screen showing to those sitting next to him the selfie he had taken along with the girl, Jungkook and Sunny from BTS.Â
âWhy is this getting weirder?â Taeyong giggled as Bee and Jaehyun laughed at their questions and turned his attention back to the iPad. âWell, letâs move onâ
âIf I hear âAyo listen upâ one more time in the next five minutes I might punch someoneâ Bee groaned sitting on the ground. Her threat doing nothing but entertain Shotaro who sat next to her and make Haechan and Ten laugh.
âWe only got a two-minute break, so I think Iâm changing placesâ. Hyuck chuckled walking lazily as the line formation was broken and stood behind Bee, making his legs work as a backrest for her.
Almost at the same time, Chenleâs voice could be heard shouting the same lines she had just complained about. Extending her arm, Bee softly tapped Shotaroâs heels and relaxed back into her position as he played along and pretended to be hurt.
âYun-hee donât hurt your friendsâ Haechan whined holding her arms and shaking her, the movement made her head roll loosely and a few giggles erupt. Poking the top of her scalp, Hyuck bent down to stare at her âWhy are you so tired, all we did so far was standâ.
âIâm doing a growing plan. Lots of food and sleep to see if I add a few centimeters to my heightâ She answered closing her eyes and missing the look between the boys.
âI think we need to wake her upâ Shotaro laughed getting up and holding her legs. Following his train of thought, Haechan held under her arms, and they began slowly swinging her body.
Laughing, Bee tried to loosen her body up as much as possible as they increased the speed. Some members around laughing as well and Lucas suddenly standing a little away from them, holding out his arms and joking âThrow her, throw her. Iâll catch itâ.
Scared of the possibility of being thrown around and falling because of the clumsy boy, the girl tensed up allowing Shotaro to drop her legs making her stand-up, shaking her head giggling.
âDid anyone see Doyoung?â One of the managers put his head through the door shouting and somebody shouted back âHe went to the other dressing roomâ. The door closing instantly as he left in a hurry.
Towards the back of the room, Bee sat on the ground with Winwin, Hendery, Jeno and Sungchan. Since they were all ready to go back on stage, they decided to play some racing game on their phones while waiting for the rest.  Â
âWhoâs red? Iâm after red. Red, please slow downâ The girl commented not paying attention to what they were saying and Jeno hummed.
âIâm red, youâre after me?â He asked but didnât wait for an answer before continuing âWell, not anymoreâ.
Just as he said that, his car released a black substance making Beeâs car slowdown and get left behind by the others. A cheer of laughter erupting from the boy and Sungchan, while Hendery chuckled a âNooâ.
Putting her phone down, Bee slapped his arm just on time for another manager to walk inside and prompt them to go back on the stage. Throwing their phones on the couch, the group, as well as the members who were just done getting retouched, made their way to the staircase.
After performing other songs, the members started doing some speeches, arranging themselves in a line. Just as Bee was going to her place, Jeno came from her side and bumped shoulders with her standing on the marked spot. Hendery who has watched the exchange laughed remembering the game they had played.
Smiling smug, Jeno pretended to look over her head before staring back at Mark who had been talking. Patting the girl on the head, Hendery bent a little forward, indicating her to jump on his back, that way gaining some height.Â
Poking Jenoâs head, Bee and Hendery each did a fighting stance with their arms, making the boy laugh this time a little louder. Taeil, Yuta and YangYang join them despite not knowing what was going on.
âOh, are we teaming up against Jeno?â Haechan said excited, throwing a few punches on the air and soon almost everyone was doing karate poses.
After ten seconds, almost in agreement, everyone stopped and stared at each other, laughing at how random the moment was. Clearing his throat, Mark said awkwardly not sure of what to do next âMay I continue?â

âWhy did Hondo want everyone in today?â She asks as she walks in right behind Luca. He sits in the last available chair, leaving her searching for a seat. Swiping Lucaâs elbows from his knees, she perches on his knees. They kept their work life very professional; so professional in fact, that no one knew theyâd been dating for a year.
âIâm not sure.â Street shrugs. Lucaâs long arms rest on her shoulders very relaxed.
âYou two should date. Wouldnât they be cute?â Cortez points as she walks in with Hondo, smiling at Ann with a knowing smile.
âLook more like friends to me.â Street shrugs, tapping Annâs shoulder with a chuckle.
âAlright, sorry for ruining your days off. Weâve got a problem downtown. Thereâs a foster agency being held up. A dad looking for his son. The sonâs been placed in a good home, dadâs abusive. They guy has shot two of the workers and is holding twelve other kids hostage. These are kids. You guys know, we gotta save âem. Gear up, Black Betty in ten minutes.â The team disappeared, congregating five minutes later dressed and ready to go. As they roll towards the agency, her heart thundered. The team loved children, and for children to be in danger whose worlds have already been turned upside down isnât right.
âLuca, Ann take the left side, wait for my signal. Chris, Street take the right. Keep each other safe. Tan and Deacon are going through the back to escort the kids out.â Hondo directs his team as they break off. She and Luca head to the left side door. She enters first on Hondoâs go and sees a little girl, holding a finger to her lips. âIâll be back baby.â She assures and continues on, signaling one person in that room, a kid. Once everyoneâs in position, Hondo starts talking to the guy. They needed the man distracted so she could get to the two kids in the closet right behind him. At the closet door, she ushers the first little girl out and Luca gets her safely out. The second one starts to cry loudly and catches the manâs attention.
âHoney listen to me. This vest is gonna protect you okay? You put this on and hold it tight. You see that guy at the door? Heâs gonna get you out safely. Okay? Hold onto your super vest and run.â She assures, giving her Kevlar to the little girl. With a confident smile, the little girl takes off towards Luca, who could no longer see Ann.
âDid that nice lady give you this?â He asks, eyes falling on the Kevlar. His heart stopped. His sweet girlfriend was in there alone, no Kevlar. âHondo, Ann gave the little girl her Kevlar.â He stammers, a cold sweat on his forehead. He was so scared. A few shots echoed, and Tan comes out with a kid draped over his shoulder and shouting about a bus. Luca stalked back and forth, hands shaking at his sides, chewing on the inside of his cheek.
Ann took her chance to jump on the guy, knocking him and his gun to the ground. She felt a sting of a gunshot, but she didnât think another second about it. The adrenaline kept her moving as she strutted out the front of the building with the man. Luca heaves a huge sigh, sprinting to her, handing off the man and gripping her in a hug.
âHoly christ. You gave up your Kevlar? Why?â He digs, giving her a concerned look.
âShe was too scared. Anyway, letâs go home. I need some Netflix.â She chuckles, holding her side as she got into Black Betty. She nodded off on the ride back, suddenly exhausted. No one found it exceptionally strange because she often fell asleep on the ride. Luca was the last one out, offering to grab her.
âHey, hey you ready babes?â He hushes, shaking her shoulder.
âYeah.â She whispers, standing and making her way into the car.
Once they were home, she went out onto the balcony with a glass of whiskey and started to inspect her injury. It still burnt pretty badly, like a hundred bees were stinging her, and she was so tired.
âShit.â She murmurs, grabbing at her side when she saw the hole in her stomach.
âBabe?â She was dizzy, her heart hammering in her chest as she grabbed the railing to steady herself. Blood was never her strong suit. She had totally forgotten sheâd given her vest up. She never once thought that sheâd been shot. With a dizzying stumble for the chair, she trips over the table leg and the low railing on the north side had her falling over the ledge and landing flat on her back on the ground below. Staring up at the sky, she felt her heart slowly quit beating.
âBabe?â Luca thought heâd seen her on the balcony. Actually he was sure heâd seen her on the balcony. Sheâd been acting super strange since her arrest today. She appeared to be in a lot of pain, but she didnât say anything. He looked across their little balcony, itâs emptiness was odd. A shriek lets out from the ground. Luca looks over the edge to find Ann sprawled like a rag doll tossed aside. His feet carried him to her, his heart ramming against his chest as he dropped to his knees. Hauling her into his lap he calls for an ambulance. People began coming from their houses.
âItâs okay babe. Itâs okay. I love you. Hold on, baby. Help is coming.â He sobs, rocking her. His heart imploded, he couldnât breathe. His whole world was lying still in his arms. He sobbed and cried until the ambulance showed up.
âLuca, Luca, let go. Let go.â Hondo whispers, pulling Luca away from her as the ambulance loaded her up and took her away. The wailing sirens slowly faded, but Lucaâs heart was still jamming.
He couldnât breathe.
Ann.
His sweet, loving girlfriend.
His favorite person.
The love of his life.
His angel.
Hondo watched as the zombie that Luca became wandered into the house for the keys to his bike.
âLuca! Let me drive you.â Hondo leads him to his car and they head for the hospital.
One hour.
Two hours.
Three hours.
âFamily of Ann?â Luca jumped to his feet and ran to the doctor, his eyes bloodshot and puffy. âSheâs suffered a few dislocated vertibrae and shoulder, a fractured ulna, and she suffered a concussion. She will be fine, given how badly sheâs fought already.
âCan I see her?â Luca drives, nose twitching back and forth as he sniffs to keep from crying more. With a hesitant look, the doctor nods.
âSheâs currently in a coma. Medically induced to give her body a chance to heal. It should only be about a week or two before she can wake up an get moving. We also found a gunshot wound we treated from earlier. Do you know how that happened?â Lucaâs eyes drifted down the hall as they got to her room.
âYeah, sheâs SWAT. She tackled a guy in a house full of kids and got shot. She gave a little girl her Kevlar so sheâd feel safe enough to leave the house.
âWow, she sounds like a real hero.â
âYeah.â He hushes, letting the doctor lead the way.
âMister Luca, donât be concerned at the amount of cords and wires. Itâs all protocol.â The doctor informs as they head into the room. Lucaâs eyes land on her and he stumbles, falling to the floor.
âOh christ baby. Iâm so sorry.â He sobs.
He went home and sat on the couch, cuddling her pillow against his body.
Luca found it harder to breathe as he walked into SWAT. He only thought about her.
âLuca? Go home.â Cortez calls from the doorway.
âNo, I wannaââ
âYouâre not sound. Please go home.â Luca hangs his head and nods.
Once at home alone, he filters through his memories like a movie. When the memory of her lying on the ground hits him, he folds against the pressure and collapses on the couch. A blanket they often shared during movie night falls into his lap and he hugs it, bawling so hard his breaths come out in gasps.
âIâm so sorry.â He cries, trying to stand only to hit the floor.
Two months passed like years, Luca found it hard to even get up ten minutes before work.
âLuca!â Chris shouts as she sprints into the squad room, grabbing the blondeâs arm and dragging him out of SWAT. Shoving him in the car, Street floors it towards the hospital.
âWhatâs going on?â Luca shouts. No one responds as Street hits the siren and lights as they fly into the hospital parking lot. âYou guys, please tell me whatâs going on?â He begs, his voice wavering.
âCome on!â Chris shouts as Deacon and Hondo fly up next to them. The team disembarks and starts towards the hospital. Luca sprints with the team, still confused. They run through the hospital, shouting âgimme two gimme twoâ as they get to her room. Luca was so confused and scared. Everyone was so serious.
âLuca! Open that door!â Hondo calls, waving to her door. Luca flicks open the door, everyone filing in. Lucaâs last. âRight side clear!â Hondo calls.
âLeft side clear!â Street shouts.
âTarget sighted!â Deacon calls, grinning at her with everyone else.
âLuca! Take down the target!â Chris shouts, and Luca slips through the crowd to find her sitting up in bed. Grinning and reaching for him.
âHoly shit.â He whispers, hands reaching for her and tears filling his eyes, throat thick with tears.
âHi Dom.â She whispers as he hugs tightly to her.
âBaby. Holy shit.â He whimpers, gripping handfuls of her gown in his hands and hugging tightly.
âYou guys are so silly.â She giggles, giving each team member a hug.
âYou almost look ready to come back.â Hondo chuckles.
âOh no. No sheâs not getting anywhere near SWAT for a while.â Luca barks, holding her against him. He hadnât quit crying the whole time. Tears still streaked his face as he held her. âI love you so much, Ann. You canât ever do some crazy shit like that again. Do you understand?â He warns against her hair, his nose pressed right above her ear.
âI love you too, babes.â She giggles.

Sister dear (Steve x sister reader)
(This is preseason one to show you what the background is on the whole story)
(let me know if you think this should be published as a separate book!)
You and Steve had a rocky start to being siblings.
You were born four years apart.
He was born in a time when your parents actually loved each other. They had time for birthdays and family weekends together. They went out to the park on saturdays. They were a picture perfect family.
It just so happened that when you were born, your father stopped being quite so faithful to your mother. When you came into the world, your father was in Europe on a business trip. And he wasn't only up to business.
Little Steve had adored you at first. He always wanted to hold you or play with you.
But then their parents no longer had time for him.
It was always work... and taking care of you.
It slowly changed over the years to only work, as your mother could no longer trust your father. Steve was left to watch you for weeks on end. He was good at it at first. He used to watch you carefully. He used to make sure you were happy and well...
Until he could no longer see his friends.
He was ten. You were five.
He began to leave you at home. At first it was only for thirty minutes while he went to the park. Then it was an hour every day during his elementary school days while he went to the movies.
You were seven when you began cooking your own meals.
You TRIED talking to him. You really did.
You tried catching his sleeve whenever he breezed past. You tried showing him crafts you made. You tried playing music you thought he might like.
That ended with twelve year old Steve pushing you away.
It ended with your works of art thrown in the trash.
Your music cassettes were thrown onto the road.
Your mother made sure both of you knew to never walk into the middle of the road, so you could only cry as some unknowing stranger destroyed your wonderful music. The music you had saved up all your allowance for. The music that you had thought your older brother would like. The music that you thought might bring you two together.
When your mother and father returned, you tattled.
Steve was grounded for a whole week.
But he always needed to have the last say. So he sold your boom box and spent all the money on comics. He threw your sketchbook in the quarry water. He shoved you to the floor, saying that if you ever tattled again then you would join your drawing book in the cold water.
You stopped trying to give Steve your attention and love. You no longer wished he would spend more time at home. So you began exploring the town by yourself at the age of nine. You didn't really have friends to hang out with so you would browse through stores.
The arcade was your favorite place.
You loved showing up early on Saturday mornings, before Steve was even awake, and leaving behind a new high score on the dragons lair.
Why?
Because it always riled up a group of boys your age. They had no idea who kept beating them over and over. Every Sunday morning you watched them walk in... only to scream a few seconds later about how someone had beaten their score by ONE point. Again.
You loved having some sort of connection to them. Even if they didn't know it was you. Or even who you were at all. They were a weird little group, strictly sticking with only other A.V club kids. Besides, you hardly ever talked. What would be so special about you?
It also didn't help that your older brother had begun to build himself a reputation. When you were ten, he began to be known as king Steve. You knew he bullied one of the kids (wills) older brother while beginning to flirt with another's (mike's) older sister.
You knew this because your father began forcing Steve to drive you home from school. That was the rule he set when he gave Steve the car.
Every day you trekked to the high school, only to watch Steve hang around Nancy Wheeler and push Johnathan Byers. You would have intervened and told him that you really didn't want to wait twenty minutes (out of sight) for him to be done. But the last time he did that he made you ride the way home in the trunk of his car.
When you were eleven, you started hanging out at Melvald's convenience store in the town square. Your favorite time to go there was at 7:00, because Mrs. Byers would always work the morning shift.
Wills mother was really quite wonderful. Every time you walked in she greeted you with a smile and lowered her magazine.
ââ-
"Whatcha lookin for today, kiddo?" She smiled softly, leaning on the counter to watch you browse.
"Any new cassette tapes." You shrugged, fingering each music case that caught your eye. "Do you have any Clash? I... lost mine." You didn't lose it. Steve broke it when he heard you mutter about how much you hated Tommy H.
"Yeah, we got a new box of cassettes delivered this morning." She hopped up and waved for you to follow her to the back room. "I miiiight have snagged a Clash cassette for you when I saw it." She grinned as she held the door open for the young girl.
"You didn't need to buy anything for me!" You gasped. You knew that the Byers needed all the money they could get. "Can I pay you back?" You immediately began digging through your pockets for spare change.
She placed a guiding hand on your back as you both entered, pulling you away from your search. "Oh no it's fine! It's the least I can do for my most frequent visitor."
She plucked the music case off the shelf and handed it to you. "You go to Hawkins elementary, right? You should talk to my son. Will. He also loves the Clash."
You turned red and clutched the cassette. "I've...seen him around before. I don't know how to talk to him."
"Oh it's easy!" She grabbed the spare paper and crayons you always used when you visited. "You just need to find common ground. For example," she pulled up a stool beside her for you to sit at, "you both like to draw!"
You placed down the paper and got working on your art. "Will it make a difference if I draw cartoons and he draws realistic? What if the difference is too big for him to want to talk to me?"
"It'll give you more to talk about!"
ââ
So began your quest to pursue friendship.
You attempted to speak to Will and his friends in the hall.
They were talking too loud about their latest campaign to hear you.
You tried asking to sit by them at lunch.
They were too busy launching potato's at the ceiling to notice.
Right when you almost gave up... Will and you were paired together as partners for a history project.
ââ-
'Don't mess it up, don't mess it up', you told yourself over and over as you moved to sit by Will. 'Don't be weird. See if he'll talk first. Don't be clingy.'
Wills was equally quiet. He just read through the rubric of the project and stayed silent.
'What can we talk about... what should I say?'
A drawing poking out of wills bag caught your eye. It looked like a wizard casting some sort of spell.
"I like your drawing!" You blurted out, wishing you could just shut up.
Wills jumped, startled. "Yeah... umm.. it's from... uh... it's from our last campaign.." he began fiddling with his thumbs, unsure of what to say to a girl. "Our DnD campaign... I mean."
You nodded along. "I like to draw to! I've never... I've never played DnD before... so I like to draw people."
Will cracked a shy smile. "I'll show you my drawing if you show me one of yours."
You agreed hesitantly.
He took your cartoon and you took his master piece. You desperately wished you could draw like him. Your cartoons looked so simple, as Steve always said.
"You're a cartoonist!" Will smiled, holding the paper out in front of him. It was a caricature of Mrs. Byers. "You must be the girl my mom sees at her job!" His eyes were wide with recognition. "This is so good! I wish I could draw cartoons. But whenever I try... they look like potato's." He laughed.
You flushed a deep red. "I... I'm also the one that beats your scores every Saturday." You admit.
His jaw dropped. "No way. We've been trying to figure out who that was for months! We formed a whole list of people to interrogate!" He ran a hand through his hair.
You giggled. "I can prove it... if you want. Next Saturday I could show you and your friends? At the arcade?"
"Yeah! I'm totally down to hang out at the arcade!"
ââ
Will had brought you to the A.V club after to ask the rest of the party. You had protested at first. What if they didn't like you? What if they said no? You would look so stupid! You tried to use your brother driving you home as an excuse.
But if you brought Steve up... no. You couldn't start a potential friendship like that.
Will proposed the ideas to everyone excitedly.
It seemed that Lucas had a problem with it immediately.
ââ-
"Sorry Will, but we can't." Lucas shook his head. "We've got plans."
Your heart dropped.
"Wait," Dustin frowned and turned to his friend. "What plans? I wasn't aware of any plans."
Lucas crossed his arms. "Remember? Our campaign?"
"We don't have a-."
Lucas elbowed him harshly and looked at you. "Can you leave for a second? We need to talk. ALONE."
You nodded and stepped out of the room. "Yeah totally! Just let me know when-."
The door slammed in your face.
You know you shouldn't have but you pressed your ear to the door anyway.
"What's your damage?" Mike Wheeler hissed quietly.
"Don't you know who she is?" Lucas accused.
"No... should we?" Will whispered in confusion.
"That's Y/N Harrington!" Lucas spat out.
"Steve Harrington's little sister." Dustin stated, now understanding.
Mike groaned. "The douche bag my sisters hooked on?"
"Yes! What if she's exactly like him?"
"You mean a total mouth breather? A player? An absolute jackass?"
You sunk to the floor. Of course Steve ruined the only chance you might have of a friendship. How could she think that these kids would look past her family's reputation? No one ever did. Even her teachers expected her to be disruptive and rude.
"Guys." Will intervened. "I talked to her in history."
"What?!"
"Traitor!"
"What about the party?"
Will lowered his voice, causing you to lean a little closer to the door. "She doesn't act like him. She never called me any names. She never told me that I'm a freak. She tried to talk to me about art."
"Steve definitely doesn't appreciate art." Dustin mumbled.
Wills continued. "She's a cartoonist. And I think she might be like us. You know who kept beating our dragon lair record?"
"Who?"
"Please tell me it wasn't Troy."
"Y/N Harrington."
"WHAT?!"
"IT WAS HER?!"
"GIRLS PLAY VIDEO GAMES?!"

Operation Big Brother - Chapter IIÂ Â âȘ I
a/n: this is so bad oops hope this doesnât make you too sad, or least not as sad as it made me while writing :/ ps: also thank you for a 100 followers hehe đâš
The sound of chatter coming from the cubicles is loud enough to disguise your almost unnoticeable sobs. Getting out of the office without catching too much attention is not that hard, if one is swift enough. You want to get out of there as soon as possible, but you wonder how youâll be able get pass Kun without him seeing you in such a troubled state.
When the elevator doors open to the backroom of the bar you make up your mind: you decide to play the âin-a-hurryâ card. Your heels now seem to be piercing the floor, not being the best option given the situation. Walking as fast as you can, you hope to not catch Kunâs gaze but itâs too soon to talk. âY/n, what- whatâs going on?!â he almost shouts at you when you get to the main exit. You turn around slightly. âItâs an emergency, I have to run!â before you can close the huge door behind you, you get a glimpse of your friend. Kun is looking at you, he doesnât need to say anything. This will be hard to explain when you get back.
A shiny black car is waiting on the main street, with its engine on, ready to leave at any second. Thereâs no need to look at the number plate, you get inside with no hesitation, like many times before. Yet somehow your hand is trembling when you close the car door. âAre you okay?â whispers a sweet voice coming from a suited-up man from seat next to you. âYes, Iâm fine, Xiaojun. Canât you see?â you answer almost automatically for the second time that night. âI was just askingâŠâ âI know, I know. Sorry, weâre on to something big, I donât really know how I should feel.â âHow about you tell me how you feel about this?â your colleague asks, handing you an envelope. Inside thereâs all the information Ten already told you about the mission, all the suspicious spots youâll have to check once in Hong Kong, lists over lists of names, and at the very end a fake ID. âSo, weâre going for Joanna Huang this time, uh?â you two force a laugh to try to lighten up the initial tense mood. âLucas just called me five minutes ago.â Casually states Xiaojun. Here we go again. Youâre sick and tired of hearing that name, you feel yourself holding your breath to hide your frustration. You donât want to unleash all your anger on the man next to you, but itâs clear that one more step and you wonât be able to see straight. âHe sounded⊠kind of sad. Do you know if anything happened- ââThen why didnât you ask him?â you cut him off. âWhat- ââHow the fuck should I know?!â The line has been crossed. Xiaojun is now staring at you with his mouth slightly open. You also notice the driver giving you a judgmental look from the rear-view mirror. You turn your head to the window avoiding eye contact from any of them. âIâm sorry Jun, itâs complicated.â âYeahâŠI could tell.â You snicker, hiding the hesitation and nervousness in your voice. âDonât worry. This wonât get in the way of the mission.â âI know it wonât. I know you y/n.â you smile at his kind words. âBut I also care about Lucas. I know you wonât ever tell me what happened between you two, but- ââNothing happened!â you snap again. âSure, whatever you say. Either way, please, I beg you. As soon as you get to him, please, can you have an adult conversation about this?â âI can take an adult conversation; I donât know about him though.â âY/n, please.â You know Xiaojunâs right but youâre not sure whether youâre ready to come clean in front of Lucas. During the silent car ride to the airport your mind finds its way to the events of the past weeks.
This is the last time. You had said that to yourself so many times, but here you were again. It was after successfully completing a mission in Paris. You and Lucas always celebrated your accomplishments together. But for the last few months those celebrations had taken a strange way. It had started as an innocent kiss initiated by Lucas, just a simple spontaneous gesture, that was he told you and you let it slide. But then the kisses and caresses where something you were getting used to, you almost expected them, and you felt disappointed when you couldnât receive them. You couldnât let yourself slip. Lucas was your colleague, your number one partner. You convinced yourself that what you were doing was wrong. Even when Lucas held you close and his arms felt like the only home you could come back to. You were afraid, completely terrified at the thought of you two risking your carriers. Yet, deep inside, what you dreaded the most was getting your heart broken. Everyone in the organisation knew about Lucasâ reputation with women. You had tried so hard not to listen to the rumours. You were so scared of becoming just a one-night stand to him, of ruining your relationship forever. And that night it was no different, as Lucas was peppering sweet sensual kisses your shoulder, you pinned against the window that held the most breath-taking view, your mind was running wild with all your doubts. You turned to your side, trying not to look into his magnetic eyes, if you did, itâd would have been over. âYou were incredible today, y/n.â whispered Lucas against your ear, making you shiver. You had trained your mind not to believe him anymore when he praised you like that, but somehow your body always reacted as if it were the first time. Lucas sensed your coldness and pondered for a few minutes, backing up to take a good look at your perplexed expression. Then he cupped your chin, forcing you to look back at him and you felt your heart sinking, feeling helpless against him. You didnât want him to have that power over you. Lucas placed a hot kiss against your mouth, shutting out your thoughts entirely, then he grabbed your waist and pulled you up, forcing your legs around him. He made his way to the bed carefully, keeping you in his embrace. He placed you on to the bed in the same delicate manner, his lips never leaving yours. You went on like this for a while, undressing each other nonchalantly. But as Lucas kept touching you, you wondered how many girls he had touched with those same hands. You wondered if anyone had noticed what was going on between you two at the organisation and how long it wouldâve taken for you to lose your job, then your mind fell into the same old rabbit hole. âYouâre so beautiful, baby.â âDonât call me baby.â Your response felt like poison to Lucas, who stopped immediately to look at you, hoping that you were messing with him. But your expression was stone cold, staring at anything except for him. âWhatâs wrong, y/n?â he questioned cluelessly. You asked yourself if he was joking. âYou know whatâs wrong, Lucas.â You answered getting away from his touch and getting off the bed. You fetched your shirt from the floor and put it on back again with robotic movements. âIâm- Iâm not following.â âOf course, you arenât.â you grumbled, sitting back down on the bed. âAnd whatâs that supposed to mean?â Lucas asked clearly irritated. âItâs nothing, forget about it.â âNo.â with a swift movement he sat next to you, demanding you to look at him but you refused animatedly. âWe just- we canât- I donâtâŠâ your mumbling was getting on Lucasâ nerves. âWhat?! Just tell me, whatâs wrong?! Why canât you be fucking honest?!â âWe canât do this anymore, Yukhei!â in that moment it was Lucasâ heartâs moment to sink. Not only because you had called him by his real name, which never happened because thatâs what he preferred, but because you were the last person on the planet who he thought could push him away. You went on and on about how you were risking your carriers, how you were putting everyone in danger but Lucas just shouted back, refusing to acknowledge any reason that you providing him. âPlease, Yukhei, try to be reasonable!â âNo, I canât let you throw away what we have!â he stood up angrily, rubbing his face harshly âWhat we have?!â you held back a laugh at the absurdity of his affirmation. âYes, what we have.â You had never seen Lucas so serious, and you felt so stupid realising that he wasnât joking. You decided to stand up as well. âI know you wonât believe me, and I know what everyone says about me. But let me tell you, theyâre all a bunch of liars.â Before he continued, he took both of your hands in his, biting his lips trying to gather his words. âWhat I feel for you is real. I never wanted us to be fuckbuddies, or whatever it was that you thoughtâŠâthe disappointment was palpable in his voice and the shame irradiated in your cheeks in the form of a bright red hue. You had thought so low of him and the guilt was consuming you. âI like you, y/n. Fuck- no, I love you. I do. I did for such a long time.â You could not believe your ears. One of your greatest friends was pouring his heart out in front of you. But did not feel happiness or joy. You had been shot in the side once, but this felt much worse. âPlease say something.â You tried; you really did. But silence fell inescapably. âI see how it is.â Lucas let go of your hands and you felt as if someone had ripped out a part of you. âSo⊠I guess to you this was just a way to pass the time.â You felt your heartbeat pounding is your head, unsure about everything, watching everything you believed in crumble down. âIt wasnât, itâs not like that. I care about you, Yukhei. So much.â âBut you donât love me.â Your throat run dry at the word. âOr at least, not like I love you.â âI-I donât know. I- âthat was the first thing that your mind thought of and it was the worst possible answer. Lucas was now staring at the floor lifelessly. You tried putting your hand on his shoulder but he brushed you off coldly. Then he started gathering his things from the floor, heading towards the door. You had no right to stop him. Before he closed the door, he looked at you one last time. âPlease donât contact me for a while.â After he left you broke down, sobbing loudly, mad at yourself for being so selfish. All you had thought of the past months were your own feelings, never once keeping in consideration Lucas. But most of all you were furious for not being able to figure out what you actually felt towards him. You had ruined everything.
âY/n, weâre here.â Xiaojun is tapping on your shoulder, bringing you back in real time. You just hum in response, getting out of the car and heading to get your bag. âYour flight leaves in an hour, donât be late.â âI wonât, sir.â You respond mockingly sticking your tongue out. âVery funny. I wonder why you didnât choose to be a comedian.â âBecause then all the other comedians would be unemployed.â The small talk makes your heart feel lighter just for an instance. âGood luck and remember what I told you. Donât just throw away your friendship for a little fight, okay?â you clenched your firsts around your bag. You silently say goodbye to both Xiaojun and the driver and head through the sliding doors. Unconsciously, you find yourself practicing already what youâll say to Yukhei when youâll see him. But nothing that makes sense comes to mind, and it scares you to death.

The Hudson Incident
8 Miles North of Hudson, New York
-1938-
The skies were clear as the full moon shined down on the dense woodlands flanking the road. The sound of two sedans being the only disturbance as they drove towards their destination. Aside from the music on the radio, the four occupants were silent, none saying a word since they left Brooklyn. One, a priest, was reading a passage from his Bible and holding his rosary which was wrapped around his left hand. The man next to him, a skinny built fellow with neatly kept hair and peach fuzz named Michael, was staring out the window as if in thought, he'd sometimes look at an envelope that contained a file and read it likely out of boredom. The man in the front seat, who was of average build with short dark hair named Vin, fiddled with the dial of the radio but settled with what they were listening to before. Finally the driver, a heavier set man with a slight Italian accent named Luca, spoke.
"Alright, it's been a few hours and no one's said a word."
"Maybe there's nothing to say." Vin responded.
"Really Vin? You've had a wisecrack or smartass thing to say about anything and everything and Now is the time you got nothing?" Luca replied
"Like I said." Vin repeated
"Calm down Luca, The Organization got us all on edge." Michael said.
"If you call going into a cultist compound full of trigger happy saps, all to destroy some artifact, on edge. I mean we don't even know what this artifact is anyway." Luca adds
"We don't need to know, just that these people plan to use it for something not good." Vin says
"Oh come on for God's sakes-" Luca starts only to be cut off by the priest.
"Do not take His name in vain." He scolds
"Alright, Alright...sorry Father Bruni, just nervous is all." Vin replied apologizing.
"You are forgiven. But be sure to go to confession as soon as you can." Father Bruni said.
The ride was silent for another few minutes before Luca turned off the main road followed by the second car. Michael looked at the file for the fifth or sixth time during the ride. The cult they were going after was set up in the old Bryant Sanitorium, closed during the peak of the Depression for lack of funds and unethical practices. The cult was called Pathway to Heaven, led by a man who was known only as The Speaker, a self-proclaimed prophet who claimed to know a way to Heaven. The Sanitorium had been under surveillance for a week, during which it was determined that there were thirty members, that they were armed, and strange lights emitted from the building's basement windows. Luca pulled off to the side of the road, the other car following suit. The gate was no more than fifty yards ahead, the main building just beyond it across a sizable front drive and of course the gate is chained, complete with a padlock.
"Ok...let's get the guns. And the bolt cutters." Luca said as everyone gathered at their car trunks. Michael pulled a strap in the floor to reveal multiple M1921 Thompson submachine guns, a pair of Browning Automatic Rifles; or BARs, a separate box had several Colt 1911s, and plenty of ammo for each firearm. The second car had a similar setup only instead of BARs they had a pair of Winchester Model 12 shotguns as well as a crate of dynamite and grenades. As everyone grabbed their weapons and some grenades, Michael took a 1911 and offered it to Father Bruni.
"Father I know you aren't allowed to carry guns but I doubt these cultists will be kind to you." He said
To his surprise, he took it and loaded a single magazine.
"There is no verse in scripture that says I am not allowed to defend myself. I am a man of peace, but I also understand that when peace is not an option then force is required." He explains.
As the rest of the group gathered, Father Bruni asked everyone to bow their heads. He then prayed for their success, their safety, for guidance in their mission, and protection from evil as he felt the sinister forces at work even from this distance. Upon him saying "Amen" Father Bruni asked Michael to take the lead with Luca and Vin while the others, led by a man named Thomas, watched their backs.
Vin cut the padlock and gently opened the creaky gate, the old sign on it read "Jeremy Bryant Sanitorium for the Mentally Ill", the group of eight men briskly made their way across the drive to the front double doors, only to find them locked.
"Now what?" Luca asks
"There's a reason I brought dynamite." Thomas suggests
"They will get a rude awakening." Vin commented as everyone gave Thomas some space. He rigged a three stick bundle on the door handles, set the timer and ran to hunker down with everyone behind a low wall off to the side. The following explosion practically splintered the tall double wooden doors, windows on the first and second floors were shattered sending glass everywhere. With the dust beginning to settle the men rushed in, firing their Thompsons and BARs at the cultists who came to investigate. Between dodging bullets and taking cover Bruni could see these cultists were not human, something was terribly wrong. Aside from the gunfire, Bruni could also hear faint chanting in no language he knew.Â
As the group of men proceeded through the halls, they saw many strange symbols written in blood. The further they went into the bowels of the Sanitorium, the more the men felt presences all around them, shadows danced and formed inhuman images. The cultists also seemed off, Bruni noticed strange and gruesome ailments had befallen the individual cultists.
Many were covered with injuries that looked self inflicted, bloodshot eyes, and blackened veins around the face.
"These men...they are under some kind of spell. Their actions are not their own." Bruni warned
"I don't think they'd listen to us anyway, Father." Luca said as he checked a corner.
Down the hall, just beyond a closed set of double doors, the group heard the chanting clearly as well as seeing a red glow on the other side. The group slowly walked towards the doors, feeling a powerful pulse of energy pass over them every few seconds. When they get close to the doors, the pulse is so strong it forces them all back a step. Bruni steps to the door and goes to grab the handle only for all of them to hear the sounds of multiple people screaming.Â
"Thomas, blow the door." Bruni ordered.
The group took cover in an alcove taking the time to reload their weapons, once Thomas joined them they braced for the explosion. Once the initial shockwave had passed the group eased their way towards the room, the doors were obliterated by the explosion, blackened burns on the stone floor marking the direction of the fireball into the room.
Inside the room the group saw a more gruesome scene. Gathered in a circle of candles and cryptic symbols were the bodies of five cultists, their throats slit, the blood flowed through channels along the floor to a dais covered in the same runes the group had seen throughout the building. Just past the dais stood a male figure dressed in a white robe, his brown hair was pulled into a ponytail and his face was clean shaven. He looked human but the air around him felt anything but, especially as an unsettling smile curled across his face.
"You are too late. It is done. The Path is open." He said in a distorted voice.Â
He then revealed an amulet from around his neck, both it and the symbols began glowing bright crimson he then resumed the chant. The room darkened as inhuman voices joined in, the candles flickered as the blood in the dais started gathering in a floating orb of pulsating liquid. The amulet siphoned the blood from the orb seemingly empowering the Speaker.
"Put him down!" Michael shouted followed by the hail of gunfire, when one of the men ran out of ammo in his BAR he dropped it and pulled two 1911s to continue the fire. The Speaker was hit so many times his robe changed from white to red, the orb splattered onto the dais as the runes ceased glowing along with the amulet. Everyone sighed with relief before investigating the room, Bruni walked towards The Speaker stepping over the blood as best he could. When he closed the distance the presence of evil was easily felt on the medallion, which he now realized was made of carved bones, dark forces were at work darker than any man could conjure. Bruni retrieved his bible and a flask of holy water, beginning to read whilst splashing the holy water on the dais and body. Bruni, as well as the others, were caught off guard when the body began to twitch; a little at first but more violently once touched by the holy water. The twitching was replaced with bones breaking and violent convulsing, The Speaker got to his feet revealing his full transformation. A pair of horns sprouted from his head, a tail whipped out from under his robe, and claws adorned his hands.
"You cannot stop me!" He roared.
Bruni did not stop his incantation while splashing the last of the holy water into the Speaker's face. Unholy screams of agony and pain were heard as the holy water burned the creature like acid. The creature lunged at Bruni only for its fangs to scratch the metal of Bruni's 1911 as the barrel was shoved into the creature's mouth. The first shot sent it to the ground, the next three to the head ensured it wouldn't get back up. The men came to check on the father only for him to finish his incantation.
"In nomine patri, et filii, Spiritus Sancti, Amen." He said while making the symbol of the cross with his free hand.Â
Bruni reached down to the amulet, upon touching it he was bombarded with multiple visions. Visions of a dark world filled with mountains of skulls, oceans of fire and blood, cries of agony while dark figures chanted and cackled at their nefarious deeds of slaughter. He watched vast armies rising and clashing, beasts made of iron and steel trampling the land, and cities turned to ash in an instant. He then saw a creature that looked akin to a dragon cloaked in shadow and flame, speaking a tongue he didn't know but it filled him with primal fear especially when it lunged to devour him. Bruni was then thrust back to reality with Luca and Vin restraining him while Michael calmed him down. Bruni calmed after a moment before Michael asked him;
"What should we do now Father?"
"This place is filled with evil. That amulet is an instrument of chaos itself, I fear the influence it would have if it ever left this place. Thomas, use what dynamite you have left to destroy this room and that infernal thing. We need to return to the Organization, tell them that this place must be buried along with its secrets." Father Bruni explained as beads of sweat drizzled from his brow.
Thomas went to work as everyone else began leaving the building Thomas caught up just as they exited the front door. By the time they reached the gate the fireball engulfed the entire right side of the building, the floors fell through into the basement. The group watched the fire for a time before finally getting into their cars, leaving the Sanatorium and it's dark secrets. Even still Father Bruni felt that what he saw, were they simple visions made to strike fear into him? Or were they premonitions of a future that has yet to come? Either way, they had succeeded in putting a fear in him he could not easily shake...nor escape.

The Zegba Chronicles Chapter 3
Header credit to @micoleggâ
The Zegba Chronicles Masterlist
Zegba reached into his bag of holding, pulling out his set of shackles of compliance and placed them on the assassin. As he was doing this, Rhea ran over to the crossbow men and started dressing their wounds. Zegba searched the assassins body and removed all of his weapons and all the items in his pockets. He quickly found Tuckerâs necklace and put it in his own pocket so he could personally return it to Tucker when they got back to town. Commander Luca rode up as Zegba was finishing searching the assassin. The Commander took a second to take in the battlefield then dismounted and came over to Zegba. âI already sent a man back to Pol to get some healers and a cart to carry the wounded. 6 of our riders were hit during the charge and it looks like we have 4 more injured here. I canât believe that this guy was able to take down half of our party. We are going to camp here for the night while we wait for the carts to get here.â
âI believe his daggers were laced in poison, Sir. He seemed very sure that old man Tucker wasn't going to pull through.â Zegba explained.
âI will make sure to inform the healers when they get here. Thank you.â Luca said as he eyed the assassin. âDo you think those shackles will hold him?â
âI honestly donât know, but I donât plan on leaving his side until he is in a jail cell.â Zegba said coldly.
âIn that case I will have the rest of the men bring the wounded here and set up a temporary camp. I am hoping that once the carts get here we can hit the road back right away. I donât like the idea of this guy being out in the open for any longer than he has to be.â Commander Luca pointed out.
The next few hours were a blur of movement. The wounded were carried to the clearing and treated as best they could. Rhea set to work making a couple of fires and cooking some stew for everyone. Commander Luca set up a guard rotation with the soldiers that were uninjured and not currently caring for the wounded. During this Zegba never took his eyes off the assassin. He had woken up a couple of hours ago but hadnât said a word since. He just sat there staring off into the distance and that was fine with Zegba. About an hour before sunset, one of the soldiers on guard duty called out that he could see three carts approaching from the south. It would be another 45 minutes before the carts would make it to where they were camped. Inside the cart were 20 more soldiers who were immediately put on guard duty, 7 Clerics who went right to work treating the injured, and one very intimidating man that Zegba knew to be the head investigator. He walked straight over to Zegba and stated, âI will take it from here you can leave.â
âYou donât want me to stay in case he tries to escape?â Zegba inquired.
âNo.â was the only reply that he got back. Zegba walked over to where Rhea was tending the fire and sat down. He got a bowl of leftover stew and ate it without saying a word. Rhea didnât seem to be in the talking mood either. After about half an hour Commander Luca came over to tell them that the healers had stabilized the soldiers so they would be moving out shortly. The Commander didnât like the idea of traveling at night but they needed to get the soldiers back to town where they could be better treated. Luca said that they healers did find poison in some of the soldiers but were able to treat it with relative ease. It would take about 20 minutes to get all the injured loaded up on the wagons and for the camp to be taken down but then they would be on their way. Zegba took this time to go over to Moonbolt and make sure that she was ready to go and so that he would be closer to the assassin. The investigator was just sitting there staring at the assassin not saying anything.Â
Once the company was ready to go, Zegba mounted Moonbolt and led her to the back of the carts. He knew that the assassin would be forced to walk behind the last cart so that's where Zegba wanted to be. He knew that it would take them about two and a half hours to make it back to the city, putting it at well past midnight before they returned. The first couple of hours were uneventful as they slowly made their way down the road. They were just starting to see the first lights of the city in the distance when the assassin suddenly collapsed behind the cart. Zegba jumped down and drew his sword as he rushed over to him. The investigator checked on the assassin, then yelled at the healers for assistance. The cleric told them that the assassin was dead, most likely from some form of poison but there was no way to be sure what kind. The cleric loaded the body onto the back of the cart and told them that a full autopsy would be done. Zegba didnât understand how the assassin was able to take the poison with so many guards watching him.Â
The remainder of the ride to the city was quiet. Once they reached the city, Zegba dismounted Moonbolt and patted her head before she ran off into the woods. The injured were taken to the infirmary while the healthy soldiers were told to retire their mounts and then meet at the guard station so they could be debriefed. The captain of the guard was furious that the assassin hadnât been brought back alive and vowed that someone would be punished for this. Once the debrief was finished, Zegba headed to the infirmary to return Tuckerâs necklace to him. Outside of the infirmary he ran into Rhea who was also heading into the infirmary. âWhat are you doing here?â Rhea asked.
âI was returning old man Tuckerâs necklace. What about you?â Zegba replied.
âA good friend of mine was one of the soldiers shot during the charge. I just wanted to check and make sure they were doing ok.â Rhea replied sheepishly.
   âA friend?â Zegba asked knowingly.
âWe have gone on a few dates but we arenât serious yet.â she admitted.
âDo you need a wingman in there?â he joked.
She laughed, âNo, I think I will be alright but i appreciate the offer.â She turned right down the hallway heading towards the military wing of the infirmary while Zegba headed left to find Tucker. When he got to the civilian ward he asked the guard where he was located and the guard pointed him to the end of the ward. As he was turning to head towards Tucker another guard stopped him to return his shackles. Zegba thanked the guard and put the shackles in his bag as he headed towards Tuckerâs bed. Tucker was fast asleep and Zegba didnât want to wake him so he very carefully returned the necklace to its rightful place. As he was turning to leave Tucker grabbed his hand and mumbled âthank you sonâ before falling back to sleep.Â
Zegba left the infirmary and headed towards the palace to finally retire for the night. He knew that dawn would arrive in only a few short hours and then it would be back to patrol duty. That is if his brother didnât find him first. Zegba knew his brother was sure to punish him for arguing with him in front of other soldiers. And knowing his brother the punishment would be even more boring than patrolling. But it was all worth it, because he had finally gotten a taste for adventure that he has always dreamed about.

Vendredi 17:00
Rehearsals finally ended for the week with a stern dismissal. It kind of sucked that they had hip hop as the last class of the day, because they were all dying by that point and nowhere near capable of executing their combinations to the standard they should. It was especially bad that week, as they were all a bit out of shape from spending their holidays slacking on training. No matter how much any of them had kept up with their training over the summer, nine hours of class five days a week with only an hour break in the middle was a whole different experience.
They had all begrudgingly accepted their criticism in class without complaint, knowing that the concerns were justified. Lucas didnât care too much, especially because it was just hip hop. He loved the class normally, but with auditions looming he didnât really want to think about anything other than ballet for the next week.
He was sure that heâd already clocked in more hours of extra practice time than anyone else, even though theyâd all been there less than a week. Manon had chided him plenty, lecturing him on the importance of letting his body take the time to rest, but he wasnât taking any chances this year. If he didnât get the role of Prince Siegfried, it wasnât going to be from a lack of work.
He tried to blink the thought away, not even allowing himself to consider that he might not get the role. Obviously, it was a large possibility, but it wouldnât help his confidence if he went in feeling defeated. He had to go into the next week and into the audition like heâd already secured the role, and everything else was just a formality. It was what people like Eliott and Manon would be doing, anyway.
He noticed the way the other girls in the year grimaced at Manon during class, knowing that the role of Odette was hers alone. At least, Lucas supposed, he had some chance at getting the role he desired. He didnât think the role of the Prince was as set in stone as Odette. Then again, he could just be fooling himself.
He packed up his things as quickly as possible to head to studio three, the room heâd reserved for extra practice that night. Heâd asked Manon to join him so they could practice partnering as well, and, thankfully, sheâd agreed.
She was already there when he arrived, sitting on the floor and pinning her hair back into a bun. âLong time no see,â she said with a raised eyebrow.
He smirked in return. âYou do what youâve got to doâŠâ
âOh, Lucas, come on now. You seriously donât need to be worrying so much. Everyone can see how much youâve improved over the past year and a half, youâre a shoo-in for a lead role,â she tried to reassure him as he sat beside her.
âThatâs just it, Manon. I donât want a lead role, I want the lead role. This is the only role thatâs ever really mattered to me.â He didnât know how to accurately explain his feelings, his yearning. This wasnât just another show for him. Even though they werenât even in a company yet, this would probably be an experience he remembered for the rest of his career, and he wanted it to be a good memory.
She didnât respond, just grabbed his hand and squeezed it once. It was nice to not have to communicate with her through words sometimes. There wasnât really anyone else he could do that with, not even Yann. She released his hand as her phone buzzed and she looked at it, blush spreading across her cheeks.
Lucas cleared his throat pointedly and she looked up with wide, falsey innocent eyes. âWho is it?â he prompted, wiggling his eyebrows. âCharles?â
Charles had been one of the stars of the class a year ahead of them, along with Lucille. Lucas had always suspected he and Manon had gotten close, so to speak, during Nutcracker rehearsals, but then heâd gone off to be a part of the Royal Ballet company in London, and sheâd never confirmed or denied their relationship.
âNo,â she said with a scoff, returning her attention to her phone.
âThenâŠ?â he inquired slowly, stretching out the word.
She took a moment to type, then set her phone face down inside her bag. âItâs nothing.â Lucas raised his eyebrows, not entirely convinced. âSeriously,â she added, rolling her eyes.
âSure.â
âSure,â she mocked, sticking out her tongue childishly. âWhat about you, any hot guys catching your eye recently? Are you seeing Charles?â she asked with a faux gasp, hardly containing her laughter.
âHilarious, Manon, truly,â he deadpanned, avoiding her question. It was no secret that he was gay, and it was also no secret, at least to everyone who knew him well, that he had never dated anyone before. Sure, heâd kissed a few people at a few parties in the past, but none of them were worth remembering or pursuing beyond those nights. Actually, his longest relationship might have been with ChloĂ© when they were thirteen. He cringed when he thought back on it. Heâd been at the height of his repression of his sexuality and sheâd been cute and nice, and he thought, maybe it could work with someone like her.
They went on one awkward date to the cinema, not knowing if they should hold hands or kiss or what. The night had ended by them both coming back to school, ChloĂ© giving him a small kiss, and him blurting out that he was gay right to her face. It was a wonder she was still friendly with him. Thankfully, sheâd kept his words a secret until heâd been ready to tell everyone, one reason heâd always have a soft spot for her, complicated history or not. Heâd probably have reacted much worse had their situations been reversed.
To answer Manonâs question simply, no. He didnât ever really have the time to think about romance, and had even less now. âYes,â he told her, âI have one, actually.â
âOh?â she prompted excitedly. âWho?â
âPrince Siegfried.â
She rolled her eyes again. âYou are impossible.â
âThank you,â he grinned, standing up and holding out a hand. She grabbed onto it reluctantly and allowed herself to be pulled up from the ground. âNow, we practice.â
âNow, we practice,â she repeated, rolling out her shoulders and facing the mirror, focused. He moved behind her and allowed her a few moments to prepare, a few relevĂ©s, a few practice pirouettes and balances in retirĂ© before he grabbed her hands and began spinning her, moving his hands to her waist as she spun around.
And around.
And around.
And around.
And around.
Samedi 13:42 Â Â
The door to Lucasâ suite was, fortunately and unfortunately, unlocked when he returned to his room after practicing on his own for most of the morning. The unfortunate part was that this meant Eliott was in the room, the fortunate part was that heâd accidentally forgotten his room key that morning before heâd left. He couldnât imagine the embarrassment of having to go to the director to ask to be let back into his room.
Eliott was sitting in the living room when he entered, fully focused on whatever work he was doing on his laptop. Shit. Lucas realized he must have been doing their general schoolwork, math, literature, biology, the like. All of their courses were taught online, so they could pace themselves individually, but there were still assignments due at the end of every week, Saturday nights.
Lucas had been so caught up on practicing for his audition that heâd forgotten about this work, forgotten that he wouldnât even be allowed to audition if he was behind on his work. Fuck. Hopefully there werenât many assignments, given that it was the first week back, but Lucas wasnât holding his breath.
âI was worried youâd forget about our actual schoolwork.â Eliottâs voice was soft enough that Lucas hadnât realized he was being addressed at first. Lucas paused where he stood at the counter, washing out his water bottle.
âYou werenât hoping Iâd forget so I wasnât eligible to audition for the show?â Lucas shot back.
Eliott actually looked up from his work as if stunned Lucas had responded. Apparently heâd been doing a better job ignoring Eliott throughout the week than heâd thought. âIâm not worried about auditions,â Eliott responded breezily, making Lucasâ blood boil. Of course he wasnât worried, he thought the role would just be handed to him, like everything else in his life.
âMaybe you should be.â Lucas shut the sink off harshly, picking his bag up off the floor and bringing it into his room, slamming the door shut before Eliott had a chance to respond. He threw his bag to the floor, annoyed at how easily he always allowed Eliott to get under his skin.
He opened his laptop and blasted his music through his headphones, drowning out any possibility of distraction so he could get his work done and possibly return to the studio later that night for extra rehearsal time. He still didnât have the solo audition piece completely memorized, and he only had about a week left to perfect it.
Thankfully, there were only three lesson videos for him to watch, each one requiring the completion of an assignment to go along with it. Straightforward enough.
Lucas got to work, taking notes as he went, finding that he was actually interested in some of the material they were learning. Weirdly enough, heâd always been drawn to science, and he was quite good at it. Maybe in another life he wasnât a dancer, but a normal high school student studying science. It was almost laughable for him to think of himself as anything other than a dancer, but maybe a universe existed where it wasnât such an odd concept.
He finished the work just in time, submitting the assignments ten minutes before the online due date, cursing himself for forgetting to do them earlier in the week. As a reward for himself, he watched a few episodes of a tv show he was into at the moment, forgetting for a minute that the time he spent watching tv probably should have been spent in the studio.
By the time he emerged from his bedroom to use the bathroom, he had assumed Eliott would already be in his room or asleep. No such luck, he realized, seeing Eliott sitting on the couch and scribbling into a notebook. Lucas couldnât tell exactly what he was doing, but Eliott had always loved drawing as a kid, so maybe it was a habit heâd maintained.
Eliott poked his head up from what he was doing when Lucas exited the bathroom, shutting the notebook gently. âWhatâs up?â
Lucas looked behind him to see if maybe Sofiane had walked in and he just hadnât noticed. He heard Eliott laugh softly. âLucas? Are you ok?â
âYou were talking to me?â Lucas asked slowly, still not convinced. What about any of their interactions over the past eight years had told Eliott they were at the âcasual conversationsâ stage of a friendship? Or even at any stage of a friendship?
âWho else would I be talking to?â Eliott asked, cocking his head to the side, his tangled mess of hair somehow still defying gravity. Lucas shrugged and continued walking back to his room. âWait,â Eliott said, âYouâre not going to eat?â
âI already did,â Lucas said, not turning around. He felt a hand grab his arm and turn him around, stunned a moment to be so close to Eliott, who was looking at him intensely. âI made dinner,â Eliott said.
Lucas scrunched up his face in confusion. âAnd? I ate before I came back from the studio with Manon.â He wrenched his arm from Eliottâs grip but didnât move any further, wanting an explanation for the weird parental behavior.
Eliott looked away somewhat shyly. âI⊠Iâm just trying to be a good roommate.â The words came out clumsily, as if they hadnât been what he really wanted to say.
âA good roommate,â Lucas repeated.
Eliott didnât say anything, looking at the ground, then back up at Lucas. The look in his eyes was unreadable, but familiar at the same time. It sort of felt like Eliott was able to see right through Lucas and he didnât know how far he could go before he ended up pushing too far. Lucas hated it, this familiarity. There should have been no familiarity left between them.
âI was Arthurâs roommate for years, you know,â Eliott said at last.
Lucas didnât know why this was relevant. âOk?â
âArthur talked about his friends sometimes,â Eliott continued, âAnd youâre one of his friends.â
âAre you really still trying to, what, psych me out? Tell me you know my weaknesses or something? Cool, Arthur talked about me. He never talked about you to me, if thatâs what you want to hear.â Lucas raised his eyebrows incredulously as Eliott rolled his eyes. âI havenât given a shit about your daily habits in eight years, and neither have you, so why pretend now?â
It wasnât strictly true, Lucas had cared a bit too much for a bit too long, but Eliott didnât need to know that. âYou know what? Fine. If this is what weâre going to do, how weâre going to live, fine. Excuse me for trying.â Eliott raised his hands in surrender, stalking away to his bedroom. Just before he closed the door, he added, âBut just so youâre aware, Iâm not going to pretend I donât notice.â
Notice what? Lucas would have asked had Eliott not slammed the door shut in a manner similar to the way Lucas generally did. He hadnât realized how harsh it could be from the other side. Whatever, if anyone deserved it, it was Eliott.
Lundi 13:14
Lucas had spent the rest of the weekend alternating between time in the studio and time working ahead on assignments so he didnât have to worry about them with the stress of auditions on Friday and result postings Saturday.
When heâd woken for his run that morning Eliott had been up again, but this time he hadnât bothered Lucas about what he was doing, or even spoken to him. In fact, they hadnât spoken to each other since Saturday night, and Lucas couldnât be more glad. Maybe Eliott would just let them drift through the year in uncomfortable silence. It wasnât great, but it was a hell of a lot better than Eliott trying to be a âgood roommateâ.
Yann, Arthur, and Lucas were off campus for their lunch hour that day, making their way to one of Yannâs favorite cafĂ©s. Lucas hadnât wanted to leave, but the boys convinced him to because Basile would be on his lunch break as well, able to meet up with them.
âHey! Gang high five!â Basile said by way of greeting when the three of them entered the cafe. None of them obliged him, as per usual, and Basile sat back down with a defeated grimace. Lucas wasnât entirely certain how Basile had become a part of their friend group, but one day he had just sort of started showing up more often and they found they mostly enjoyed his company. He was a nice break from the constant pressure of the ballet world.
âWhatâs up at ballet school?â Basile asked, shoveling food into his mouth like heâd been starving for years.
Yann shrugged. âNothing much, ballet this, ballet that.â
âFascinating,â Basile nodded, breaking into laughter.
Lucas frowned. âNothing much? Tell that to my callouses. Iâve been in the studio nonstop.â
âAh,â Arthur chimed in, pointing at Lucas with his fork, âThatâs because youâre crazy.â
âI am not,â Lucas said defensively, looking at Yann for backup. Yann merely bit his lip, holding back a smile. Lucas scoffed, slapping Yann on the arm. âEt tu, Brute? Iâm just trying to be prepared for auditions.â
âLucas, I say this with love, but I donât think working yourself to death is going to do you any favors when you pass out from exhaustion in the middle of auditions,â Yann said matter-of-factly.
Lucas huffed, crossing his arms. âI will not pass out from exhaustion. I sleep.â
âDo you though?â Arthur asked knowingly, and maybe he had a point. It wasnât from a lack of trying. Heâd actually been trying to get to sleep earlier to be well rested for practices, but his brain had other ideas. It wasnât something he could just will away, as much as he wanted to.
âYeah, dude, I didnât want to say anything, but I could probably see your under eye bags from Mars,â Basile added hesitantly. Lucas shoved his food away angrily. âI didnât come here for you to all gang up on me,â he fumed, knowing their worries were probably justified, but still being too stubborn to admit it.
Basile threw his hands up in surrender. âI just call it like I see it.â
âWhatever,â Lucas sighed dejectedly, stabbing a piece of lettuce with his fork angrily. Yann and Arthur exchanged a look, the latter clearing his throat. âSo, Baz, howâs non-ballet school?â
Basile shrugged, speaking with his mouth full. âSame old, same old. Oh, but get this, Alexia transferred out of the ballet school!â
âUh, yeah, Baz, weâre aware. We kinda noticed she was missing this year,â Arthur pointed out.
Basile frowned. âOh yeah. Well, sheâs hosting a party Saturday night if youâre all interested. I think she already told the girls about it. Maybe DaphnĂ© will come,â he added, hopefully.
âWe are definitely interested,â Arthur responded immediately, âHow much booze?â
Basile laughed, âItâs Alexia, Iâm sure weâll be covered.â
Arthur raised his fingers to his lips in an imitation of a chefâs kiss. âExcellent! You guys in?â he asked Yann and Lucas.
âWouldnât miss it,â Yann said, high fiving Arthur, much to Basileâs dismay. They all turned to Lucas expectantly. He folded in on himself a bit, twisting his lips uncertainly.
âI donât knowâŠâ
âCome on, Lulu,â Arthur pleaded, giving Lucas his biggest, poutiest expression. Lucas wouldnât be swayed so easily. âThe casting comes out that night, I wonât be much fun anyways, Iâll be too stressed,â he argued.
âFair,â Yann agreed, âBut what kind of best friend would I be if I let you wallow in anxiety, alone, with only Eliott for company?â
Yann had a point.
âWoah, woah, woah, Eliott? That douche Arthur rooms with?â Basile cut in.
âHeâs not a douche,â Arthur said, ignoring Lucasâ glare.
âYes he is,â Lucas corrected.
Arthur sighed. âHeâs not a douche to me. But yes, that Eliott.â
Basile gestured for Arthur to carry on, still clearly not understanding the full picture. Arthur continued, âRoom assignments got switched up this year, Lulu got stuck with his arch-nemesis and I got Yann and Sofiane. Itâs gone about as well as youâd expect.â
âNah,â Yann chimed in thoughtfully, âI was betting Lucas would have killed him by now.â
âIâve come close,â Lucas mumbled under his breath, quiet enough that his friends couldnât hear. He knew that they thought his rivalry with Eliott was ridiculous. Even Yann, who knew most of the details of their friendship and had to deal with the aftermath. He knew it was annoying to them, it was annoying to him too, but as long as Eliott was there, he was problem number one on Lucasâ mind. Not wanting to subject Yann and Arthur to another rant about Eliott he said, âFine. Iâll go to the party.â
Basile lit up. âReally?â
âReally.â
âReally, really?â Arthur confirmed.
âReally, really.â
Yann, Basile, and Arthur cheered, earning them glares from an elderly woman sitting a few tables over. âThis is going to be the best night ever!â Arthur promised, and Lucas hoped he was right, but for a different reason.
Just because he was going to a party, it didnât mean he wouldnât be checking his emails obsessively for the cast list. Hopefully heâd have something to celebrate but, if not, at least heâs have an excuse to drown his sorrows.

A Smash Kids Halloween: Pt 1
It was Halloween night. About 7:30, when all of the kids go out to get free candy, and the adults go get wasted out of their minds at the Halloween parties.
The group of Smash Kids went around to all of the hot-spots to get the rumored treasure troves of candy. They returned from each of the hot-spots to the candy horde site to drop off the candy. In about three hours, theyâve managed to hit all of the hot-spots listed on the map.Their candy pile was about the size of about 4-5 Bowserâs according to Redâs measurements.
The only thing left to do was split up and go to the waiting spots that each person wanted to go to. With that, the group split up into three, one going to the haunted house, one going to the graveyard near the dark woods, and Lucas was left with the Koopalings to guard the candy.
With Nessâ group, consisting of himself, Meggy, Villager, Pit, Red, and Toon Link in their Halloween costumes, they followed the map that would lead them to the haunted house that Richter had talked about.
âWell, this looks like the place on the map.â Ness said.
As Ness opened the door with a loud and errie creak, the group peered inside. The house was in complete shambles as it was covered in cobwebs and furniture was laying about everywhere. They stepped inside.
âAt least this place looks like it could be haunted.â said Meggy.
Toon Link chuckled. âPlease. Iâve seen way worse than this in a tower. Nothing in this house can scare-â
The door suddenly slammed shut. Toon Link screamed and ran down a hall in the house, holding up his dress.
The group blinked a few times in confusion and looked at Villager.
âYou said it, Vill. He does run faster in a dress.â Red said.
The group made their way down the hall, looking around at the interior of the house. Even though the house looked to be abandoned, there were still some relatively nice portraits. Albeit they were a crooked.
Meggy sighed. âI thought this was a haunted houseâŠâ
âMaybe Simon already killed everthing haunted in here.â Pit said. He noticed that Red had stopped walking and was staring at a door. âRed?"Â
Red didnât respond. He had the odd urge to open this door. He couldnât understand why, but something inside of him was telling him to. He placed his hand on the doorknob and opened the door.
Behind the door Red saw a man standing in a well lit room. He turned around. He had a similar hairstyle to Red.Â
Red gasped. "DâŠ..Dad?â Tears filled his eyes.
âHey son.â Redâs father said.
Red ran to his father and hugged him. âDad! Where were you! Mom was (sniffle) worried sick for years and lost weeks of sleep! (sobs). You NEVER came to any of my birthdays! Did you ever even love Mom?!â
âNo. Way.â Meggy said. Everyone elseâs jaw was wide open in confusion.
Redâs father held his head as Red cried onto his shoulder. âItâs okay, son.â He looked down at him. âIâm here.â
âA-amâŠ..Am I the only one seeing this?â Pit asked. Villager shook his head in response. To them, Red was hugging a Halloween skeleton and getting emotional over it.
Red sobbed. âI love you, Dad.â
âI love yyyoouuuu toooooooooooâŠ..â Redâs father slowly started slowing down his words as his voice. Part of his body began to become a liquid substance.Â
Red looked up at his melting Father. âD-dad? Whatâs happening?â
His face was the last to melt, as his head slowly drooped down. âI lllllllloovvveeeeyyyoooouuuâŠâŠssssooooooooooâŠâŠ..â Once the mouth melted into the wax like puddle, the voice stopped coming.
âDad? Dad?!â Red grabbed at the puddle, trying to understand what was going on as tears went streamed down his face.
Pit watched Red as was grabbing at the skeleton. âUhâŠRed?â He called, but wasnât getting a response from him.
Villager then felt something hit the back of his head. Villager caught a dizzy spell and rubbed his eyes. When Villager opened his, he was back in Smashville during the Halloween event. Villager looked around, wondering where his friends were.
âAh, Mr. Mayor.â A familiar voice called from behind him.
Villager turned around and saw Tom Nook standing behind him in King outfit. âAh, is that a psycho killer outfit like from the camp movies? Itâs simply smashing. However. Iâve noticed youâve gone a bit too long without paying your fees.â
Villager gave a nervous glance.Â
âNow I donât normally do this, but this whole pay me back charade has gone on long enough. So rather than keep you in debt, weâve arranged a much better plan.â Tom Nook said.
Villager seemed interested. He finally had a way out of this debt That is, until Nook started chuckling that is.
âItâs ironic, really.â Tom Nook said. âYouâre wearing that costume and,,,well, youâll see in a minute.â
Villager became worried. He then heard a chainsaw whirring from behind him. He turned and saw Isabelle.
âDonât worry, Mayor.â She said with a smile. Her eyes then became red. âThis will only hurt for a bit!â She revved the chainsaw and lunged at Villager.
âââââââââ
Ness, Meggy, and Pit looked at current scene. Villager was running away from an unseen terror, and Red was crying over a skeleton claiming to be his father. They heard Toon Link run past them before he ran out of hearing range.
âWhatâs going on?â Meggy asked. As soon as she said that, a ball hit her on the head. âOw! Huh?â She looked down and picked up the ball and examined it.
Ness looked at the ball in her hands. âWhat is it?â
âIt looks likeâŠ.some sort of nightmare orb?â She said, tilting to show him and Pit the label.
âNightmare orbs. Hit someone with this and their greatest wish will come true, only to become a twisted hallucination.â Ness read off of the description. âThat explains what happened to Vill and Red.â
âBut wait, if thatâs how it works, how come Meggy wasnât affected?â Pit asked.
âIt says if you donât fear anything or have wishes, it wonât work.â Meggy asnered. Two more nightmare orbs hit Ness and Pit, though both had no affect.
Ness looked at it again. âIt also says it doesnât work on people who are too dumb to be afraid. Otherwise known as idiots.â He and Meggy both looked at Pit.
â⊠Huh?! Iâm an idiot?â Pit shouted.
âWell, you canât exactly read.â Ness told him.
âAnd one in three people could be an idiot.â Meggy added.
Pit got riled up. âThatâs it! Weâre finding who threw these!â
There were quick footsteps coming from behind Pit. In one swift motion he grabbed the unknown foe and flipped them over. in a blur, they dashed back into the dark.
The group chased after the enemy and wound up in an open area by the stairs, surrounded by chairs. The group looked around in case it tried to attack again. âWhere the heck did it go?â Meggy asked.
The chairs began to slowly shake before levitating up and flinging themselves at the group. The trio ran into a corner to hide from the onslaught. The chairs were being thrown left and right from every direction.
They soon stopped, and Pit peeked his head from out the corner. He looked around and saw a ghost like specter staring right back at him. He then slowly moved his head back into the corner and turned to Ness and Meggy wearing a pale expression. âWe should start running.â
The three ran back the way they had came. Ness noticed that Villager was running around, still inflicted with his hallucination. He ran over to him and heaved him over his shoulder and ran. âPit! Go get Red!â
Pit nodded and burst into the room where Red was. Red was still an emotional wreck due to his hallucination. Pit grabbed him and ran with Red hanging under his shoulder.
Meggy looked back at the Ghost and fired ink shots at it. All of the shots phased right through it, however. âNess, do something!â
Ness threw a PK Fire at the ghost, and of course, it went right through it and hit the window curtains.
âI meant use PK Flash!â Meggy shouted.
âYou try using a slow to charge move at a ghost!â Ness shouted back.
Pit turned around mid-run. âGuys⊠itâs not chasing us any more.â
The trio stopped running and noticed that whatever was chasing them was no longer doing so.Â
âWhatâŠthe heckâŠwas that?!â Ness panted.
âI donât knowâŠbut we better-â Meggy started, but was cut off by a rustling in the corner.
Some bat-like creature leapt out to attack them. But just as it leapt, Toon Link was heard screaming as he was still in a panic. The three looked up at the balcony and saw Toon jump from it. As if in slow motion, he landed on the creature, knocking it unconscious. The trio looked down at the scene with utter confusion.
âââââ-
The group was finally outside. Pit was slapping Red and Villager back to reality while Ness and Meggy stared down the creature that Toon Link landed on as Toon was holding him.
âSothis little guy was responsible for causing all of that trouble?â Ness asked, pointing to Kid Dracula.
Kid Dracula looked down at the ground, unsure of what would happen now that he was caught. Ness, Meggy, and Toon all exchanged looks and started laughing, which confused him.
âKid, that was awesome!â Ness told him. âHow did you even pull that purple ghost trick?â
âI thought that this haunted house would be super boring! But Richter wasnât lying when he said that this house would give me nightmares!â Toon added.
Meggy crouched down to Kid Draculaâs level. âYou think you can do that again?â
Kid Dracula took a moment to take in everything that had happened in the past ten seconds, especially since he didnât know what Ghost they were talking about, then nodded energetically.Â
Ness cheered. âAwesome! Now we just need-â
The house then combust into flames. Red and Villager, who had just regained their senses, looked up at the flames along with everyone else.
â⊠Oh right. The fire. Oops.â Ness quickly said. He glanced at Kid Dracula. Kid Dracula had tears in his eyes and was on the verge of crying. âAw man.I-Iâm really sorry! That ghost thing surprised me a-and I panicked!â
Toon Link then held a hand out in front of Ness. âIâll handle it."He then crouched down to Kid Dracula. "Sorry about burning your house down.â He then moved his hair back. âBut if you want, you can stay with us for the night.â
A small blush grew on Kid Draculaâs stared at Toon Link for a minute. Meggy was on the side taking pictures of the whole thing, seeing as how funny it was Kid Dracula mistook Toon for a girl in the Zelda dress.
Kid Dracula then hugged Toon Link. Toon picked him up. âAnd donât worry. That mean old bonehead Ness wonât mess with you again."Â
"Well SORRY, Princess!â Ness shouted.

2016- 2017Â Â Class of 2018
Messy
September 29, 2017 11:17pm
Luke Alvez hadnât expected this, despite his explicit instructions to his team to do so in the case of an emergency. And yet he found his phone ringing in the late-night weekend hours from an unsaved Virginian number.
âHello?â
âIs this Luke Alvez?â
âIt is, and you are?â
âMy name is Frank Broadhead and I amââ
âThe principal for the International School.â
âWhy, yes, actually.â
âWith all due respect, sir, but why are you calling me so late?â
âWell, you see, Mr. Alvez. Or Coach? Do you prefer Coach?â
âSemantics, please continue.â
âRight, well. Phil and I just so happened to find a few of your students breaking into our football stadium tonight. Now I wanted to call Aaron Hotchner myself, but young Mr. Malcolm has convinced us that you were the right call. Are you?â
âSorry?â
âAre you the right call?â
Luke stared at the ceiling of his apartment and whispered a few choice curses beneath his breath.
âAre you pressing charges?â
âNow, Coach, we were very lucky to have apprehended the intruders prior to any hijinks. But, either you or another faculty member come and collect the lot of them or I am calling the police, followed by their parents.â
Luke could hear various protests in the background, this was not the way he wanted to spend his weekend. He also didnât have a large enough vehicle to cart around multiple teenagers. âBesides Trevor Malcolm, who and how many are there?â
Luke grabbed his keys and double checked his back gate as he continued with the phone call.
âWell, I have a very aggressive young lady by the name of May Howard, a more demur girl named Azalene Curtis, a disrespectful punk who refuses to tell me his name and Mr. Malcolm.â
âAlright, Broadhead, tell Brooks to sit tight and I will be there as soon as I can.â
âThank you, Mr. Alvez.â
Luke hit the end call button and sighed. It was late enough that the bugs and occasional cars passing by were the only noises on his street. He stared at his list of contacts for a solid minute before making the call, which finally connected on the fourth ring.
âMan, you better not be drunk dialing me.â Morganâs voice was amused.
âSorry, Derek, but duty calls.â
An hour later, HM Hotchner, Coach Morgan and Coach Alvez all stepped out of the large black Suburban. The rival school was cast in near darkness, besides a few lights in a first-floor wing. Luke led the way, Hotch and Derek shared a glance at his familiarity with the campus. When they reached the door, Luke was texting on his phone.
âK, should be just a sec for them to let us in.â
âAnybody know about this?â Hotch looked at his two current sportsâ coaches with concern.
âHonestly, Hotch, I had no idea. I gave the guys my number in case they needed a sober driver, I wasnât exactly expecting a full bail out.â Luke admitted, scratching the back of his neck. Aaron nodded, he was grateful to have Alvez on his team.
âMy whole focus has been putting in the work to stick it their football team come playoffs, Hotch.â Derek held up his hands as they were empty of precursors to the crime. âIf I had heard Howard and company would be trespassing I would have nipped that in the bud.â Derekâs eyes lit up as someone opened the secure door wide.
A tall African American guy gave them an annoyed appraisal, âLook what the cat dragged in.â
âItâs nice to see you too, Brooks.â Luke sighed. âThis is my boss, Aaron Hotchner,â he paused as the shook hands. âAnd Iâm guessing youâve met Coach Morgan?â
âBrooks. Sorry about this.â Derek patted the man on the back as he led the way through the dimmed hallways.
âThat bulldozer on your line?â Brooks started. âSheâs a pistol.â
âAre the students alright?â Hotch interjected.
âYeah, the guys may have been on something, but they lost their buzz fairly quickly.â
Luke and Derek both groaned, Coach Phil Brooks led the way to the principalâs office as they passed through a waiting room. In a row, spanning the spectrum of fear to boredom sat four Submariners. Lena Curtis, May Howard, Trevor Malcolm and one Iggy Cruz. When their teachers and headmaster stepped into the room, they erupted into a slew of explanations.
âSir, we didnât evenââ Trevor started.
âCoach, I am so sorââ Mayâs voice hitched as her favorite teacher looked at her with complete disappointment.
âAre you going to call my dad?â Lena squeaked, she had been crying.
âEnough!â Hotch raised his voice and the room quieted. âSubmariners on your feet.â Even the coaches beside him straightened up at the direct order. Iggy was the last one to stand, letting a huff fall from his lips. âYou will wait here with Mr. Morgan and Mr. Alvez. I am going to sort this out with Principal Broadhead, then we will discuss the consequences of your actions.â
October 2, 2017 12:58pm
Ms. Prentissâs phone buzzed against her desk, but it didnât register as she was reading going over the final act of The Crucible with her Sophomore class.
âNow Miller wrote this during the Red Scare, what parallels can you draw from the play and those events?â She looked out into the faces of some very bored and mildly confused teenagers. Her phone buzzed again, more obvious now in the silence left by the unanswering class. âOkay, letâs try this again. Red Scare? Anyone take post World War Two history, yet?â
Five hands were raised around the room, she sighed and nodded. Then Zachary Henkelâs hand shot up as if he was electrocuted.
âYes, Mr. Henkel? What can you tell us about the Red Scare?â
âNothing, actually, but Ms. Garcia is waving frantically and knocking at the door.â
The English teacherâs brow knit as realization sunk in.
âItâs time?â She asked the excitable guidance counselor.
âItâs definitely time. I donât want to into details. But, hospital, go, you now.â Emily Prentiss gave a wilted glance back to the waiting class. âGo, Emily, Iâve got them.â
âCommunism and Arthur Miller. You, go.â
1:14pm
The Kirsch Memorial Hospital felt like a maze, despite the now weekly appointments JJ had been having within. Emily soon found the birthing wing and signed in at the desk.
âYour partner is in room 13C. Breathe, Mama, you got this.â The beaming nurse said to Emily, who must have looked like a deer caught in headlights.
âRight, thanks.â Emily gave a half smile and pinned her security tag on her blouse. The rooms were set up like hotel suites: very comfortable and spaced in pairs down a soothing hallway.
âOh thank God!â JJ exclaimed as she saw Emilyâs black hair peek through the double wide door.
âOr just Penelope, hey you.â Emily grabbed JJâs hand. âSorry I didnât answer right away, I though it was an email notification.â
âYou really need to stop being so professional.â JJâs laughed cut short as a contraction started.
âWhere are we at?â Emily watched the monitors they had on her girl and her bulging belly.
âSix minutes apart, but only dilated to 4,â JJ grunted. Emily rubbed JJâs back with her free hand, as the pain eased so did JJâs grip on the bed rail and Emilyâs left hand.
âGood job, its like youâre ready to have a baby today.â Dr. Savannah Hayes smiled at the couple as she entered the room on her rounds. Emily watched JJ with immense pride as JJ sighed at her OBGYN.
âYa think?â
Oct. 8 3:40pm
Matt Simmons had wrapped up his Sociology class early, telling the kids to enjoy the fresh air before a set of storms was due in for the weekend. Between his amazing stories, his looks and his more relaxed teaching style he had quickly won the hearts of the student body. He regularly received assignments early and was asked more than once if he was single, for their mothers or aunts. He politely declined the offers. Today he made his way down to the sound booth at the back of the Rothschild Auditorium to help set up for the coming musical. Rehearsals varied by day of the week as Lucas Turner was a lead this year and had recruited a few other football players for backstage work as well. The actors wouldnât be in until 5:30pm. Matt found Alex Blake already playing with the levels as the set crew started showing up after the final bell. She held her chin in her palm, scrutinizing the coloring below.
âHowâs it going?â He leaned against the door frame, his large arms folded across his chest. Alex jumped at his appearance, holding her chest. He tried to bite back his amusement, but her rueful smile told him it wasnât going to be met with a scolding.
âMatthew! Damnit, I thought reporters liked an intro before they make an appearance.â
âGetting hard of hearing in your old age, Doc? Better keep up.â
âI am as quick as ever, thank you very much,â Alex tilted her head.
âYeah, I bet,â He smiled at her confidence. âIâve been meaning to ask you. Whatâs up with the âMs.â Did you decide to forget your PhD?â
Alex sighed, spinning to face him and away from the control desk. He had leaned back in another chair, all young and firm and handsome. âWhen Dave and I split, I wanted a fresh start, so I left the Doctor title behind as it was always paired with Rossi.â
âI was sorry to hear about that, and Ethan of course.â
âThanks.â She closed her eyes at the mention of her late son. âSo, what exactly brings you to teaching? Itâs not exactly high adrenaline, which I recall you always chased.â
âHannah had a rough go of it last year and I, well, I needed a change of scenery.â Matt flinched but didnât go into greater detail.
âDid your sister ask you to keep an eye on Hannah?â Alexâs voice was low and soothing.
âAre you kidding? She barely talks about Hannah, no, Hannah and I have been close since she was little. I figured there was going to be at least a temporary opening and I reached out to Hotch.â
âJJ probably loved that.â Alex smiled, turning back to the stage.
âYeah, well, she has her hands full now.â
âTrue. You sure you want to give up your nights to help run sound?â Alex teased.
âI like to be useful, plus, something tells me the Director can keep me in line.â
She gave him a look before rolling her eyes at him, âWelcome to life in the Theatre, Mr. Simmons.â
6:08pm
Jake wasnât certain his feelings meant anything in the grand scheme of things and that thought alone made him panic. But the gnawing in his gut was getting worse with each passing day. There was something about being in the wings, the dust and ancient currents were like layers of reality, secluding and enclosing them. Michel was going over their lines and Jake was trying not to stare or break their concentration.
Michel was had contoured today and felt drastically more confident now that the itchy school blazer had been discarded. They had their sleeves rolled up to their elbows and left the top buttons open, despite the draftiness of the theatre. Now if they could just get their lines down they would earn their bad ass title for another week. After rehearsal they had a late dinner with their parents, who were briefly stateside and probably another hour of homework. So much for senior year slacking.
Jake was going to lose his nerve, but the romantic leads were going over their first scene and it felt like they would be called on for their entrances at any moment. Michel had turned to him now, âCan you read Jacksonâs lines I just need to stop using the script as a crutch already.â
âSure. But, you could always ask him to run lines.â Jake didnât mean to sound snarky, but his self-consciousness came off as annoyance.
âJake, you are literally doing nothing right now. Come on,â Michel huffed. Jake stood up straight and accepted Michelâs script from their out stretched hand. He leaned over the folded booklet and waited for Michel to start, their character was Bellomy, the leading ladyâs father and they adjusted their stance as they got into character. Jake was transfixed, clearly, he understood acting, but watching Michel do it was like watching water boil or leaves change color. A natural transformation resulting in something completely different than who was there before.
âOh lady le di le da looâŠâ
âOh, lady le di le da looâŠâ Jake sounded it out choppily. Michel grabbed him tightly as the characters would greet each other in the show
âHucklee!â
          âBellomy!â
âNeighbor!â
      âFriend!â
Jake hadnât let go of Michel, though a wall was meant to be separating the men on stage. He dropped the script and turned to his longtime friend and crush.
âHowâs the gout?â
âWhat?â Jake looked down at Michel mystified.
âThatâs the line, Jake. Whatâs wrong?â But before Jake could answer or Michel could stop him, his lips were on Michelâs.
Oct. 10 6:54pm
âNow ladies and gentlemen, will you please rise for the singing of our National Anthem?â The announcerâs voice boomed over the stadium filled to capacity with Homecoming crowds. The F.B.I. Scarlet Submariners were on the East side of their home field as their opponents the gold and black Kingsford Knights were on the West side. The sun had set fifteen minutes prior, letting the overhead lights illuminate the turf for miles around.
Mr. Walker raised his arms and the Pep band began the familiar bars, as Sacha Kane began to sing. The song wrapped up with thunderous applause and the coin toss followed. The teams stood lining the field as the captains returned. Sitting and stewing in their jerseys without their pads were the benched senior Ignacio Cruz and sophomore May Howard. The defense took the field and Lucas Turner sighed as his right side felt empty with an unreliable substitute. Coach Morgan had made the call, which Headmaster Hotchner backed fully. Coach Alvez had given Trevor a comparable two-game ban and a parent-approved drug test as punishment for the theatrics at the end of September.
âIt had to be Homecoming,â Derek thought to himself as his back up kicker botched a punt, leaving the rival team on the Unsubsâ thirty-yard line. They went into the locker room down by six at half time. Thunder rolled in the distance. As well-spoken as Coach Morgan was, he didnât need to say anything, the team knew they had to step it up. He let them breathe before offering a few shuffles to the lines.
âUnsubs! Whose house is this?!â Coach Morgan bellowed to the cement lined room.
âOur House!â They barked back.
âWhose house is this?!â
âOur HOUSE!â A deep booming response this time.
âSearch and destroy, guys! SEARCH AND DESTROY!â The sweaty and pumped up bodies of forty teenagers jogged back on to the field to the enthusiasm of their stands. They went on to win by eleven, just as the cascade of rain flooded the stadium. After everyone had showered, Coach Morgan called Cruz and Howard over to discuss their reinstatements for the following weekâs away game.
âYou two care about your school, but there are better ways to defend it. Use your God-given talents to help your team, or you never were an Unsub. Behavior, Analysis, Unity. Earn it.â
Oct. 11 5:24pm
Chloeâs phone went off as she helped set the table for dinner. Her gaggle of siblings were either taking up space in the kitchen, trying to snag a taste early or lounging in the adjoining living room. All of her friends were off to take group pictures before heading to dinner at some posh restaurant or another. What a difference a year makes, the memories of last yearâs dance clouding her thoughts.
She glanced down at the caller id before answering. âLucas?â
âHey, Chloe, listen, are you busy tonight?â He seemed quiet, like he was secluded.
âHelping with dinner right now, why?â She propped the phone against her shoulder as she began dishing out the salad.
âWell, I was wondering if you wanted to go to Homecoming. With me. Like a date?â
She had not seen this coming, but that was probably because she had avoided romantic entanglements like the plague they had proven to be.
âLucasâŠâ She let her voice hang in the air. âI donât have a dress, this is really last minute.â
âWear anything, you can go in jeans. I just, I just want to dance with you Chloe, I swear.â He sounded sweet, not desperate and demanding. But nervous and sheepish.
âLucas, you can dance with anyone there, youâre classically trained.â His nerves seemed to be infectious.
âTheyâre not you, Chloe. Please think about it? Call me back when youâre done with dinner. I wonât be hurt if you say no, but just think about it.â Lucas waited for twelve seconds before she replied.
âYeah, I can do that.â
âThanks. Talk to you later!â
âLater.â Chloe ended the call and turned back to find her entire family had sat down to eat around her.
âWho was that?â Her mother Anita asked suspiciously.
âLucas, Lucas Turner.â
âWell, what did the boy want?â her mother sat down and patted Chloeâs seat beside her.
âHe asked me to go to the Dance tonight.â
A mix of âooohsâ and teasing burst from her siblings, her cheeks flushed and she ducked her head as she fell into her usual spot.
âDo you want to go, doll?â Her father asked as he started cutting into his steak. She shrugged and then nodded.
âHeâs a good guy, then, not going to get fresh?â Chloe smiled at her momâs concern.
âHeâs a sweetheart. He was there for me when I broke up with Brayden in the first place.â The name drew a stunned silence among the Roycewood family. It had gone unspoken for so long.
âAlright then, itâs settled. Aimee, youâre to help your sister get ready right after dinner. You hear?â
âSweet! Of course, Mama.â Chloeâs thirteen-year-old sister replied, the excitement of dresses and make up turning her weekend magical.
âThanks, you guys.â Chloe tried to bite back a smile, but her cheeks were determined to stay up.
âAnything to keep that smile on your face, doll.â Her dad nodded.

(Y/N) POVÂ
You carefully leaned on the bridge ramp from your hometown, Tree Hill, your helmet in your hand. A tear fell down your cheek as you thought about having to leave. Dan Scott, your boss, gave you the chance to go, or you wouldnât see the sun again.
You watched the sunset, as its last rays partially illuminated the town. You wiped the tears away, recalling all the blissful moments youâd had and the bad ones that put you in this situation. Starting from sleeping with a hunter, to Nathan being in a wheelchair, Lucas in the coma, Brooke injured, Hayleyâs miscarriage, and PaytonâŠ
You shook your head as you thought of her.
All this was because you didnât follow Danâs instruction in the first place. You technically tried; you gave them false directions, fake clues and even locked them away. Only, hunters are way too suspicious, smart, and hard to get rid of. You exasperatedly sighed at yourself for being too pretentious, for thinking you could outsmart them.
When darkness was surrounding you, and the lights of the city turned on one by one, you knew it was time, so you walked to your motorbike. Just as you were about to put your helmet on, you heard his voice calling you. You stopped, closed your eyes for a second, not needing him right now.
âLook, itâs no...â you started, turning to meet with a Colt 45. You pulled your hand up. âYou donât want to do that!â
âReally? Give me one good reason?" he said with his deep voice while unlocking the safety.
Three weeks ago
You rolled your eyes. âWhatever,â you said to your bossâs secretary as you walked in his office 10 minutes earlier than planned.
This new secretary was a bitch, always questioning your motives here and glaring at you from a distance. You started to miss the old one, Miss Hale. She was a very caring old lady, too lovely for this world, but she could also be manipulative. You smirked at that as you sat down in front of your boss's desk waiting for him. Miss Gile, the new secretary, didnât like that youâd arrived early and acted like the place was your own. But, you knew well that he never appreciated anyone being late.
He practically owned the town and was a member of the town council. You were his most loyal employee; he could always count on you to do his dirty work. You were the first one he called when he needed someone to clean up a mess. Just then, the door flew open, crashing into the wall with a loud âbang!â. Startled, you turned to see Dan Scott walking into the room before he slammed the door shut. The frown on his face made you immediately understand that heâd had a bad day.
You knew that his wife was demanding a divorce again and his sons didn't want to talk to him. On top of that, the council was questioning his recent action during the fiasco that was the new moon celebration. He stared at you with a harsh and scary glare. You swallowed, expecting the worst.
âWe have a serious problem. Hunters are in town questioning people about Keithâs death. I don't want that here, right now. I already have enough with the council on my ass about it. Make sure they leave, and quickly, or take care of them,â he ordered.
You nodded, knowing well that he was the reason Keith was dead, and youâd help him cover his tracks. âAlright. Anything else I should do?" you asked, standing up.
Dan frowned deeply. âNot really. Just try to be discreet this time. And if you need help, ask Rachel,â he said, thinking about it. âProbably need to scare James Howard a little. He is running for both mayor and president's council against me this year. You need to be creative with the hunters in town.â
âAlright. Have any idea where the hunters might be right now?" you asked.
Dan raised an eyebrow. âDo I look like I have time to do your job?"
âRight. Sorry, sir. I will do my best,â you said, walking out of the office.
A moment later you walked into what you called âyour office,â but someone else might call it a closet. It was a cramped space, only fitting you and probably one other person, if they were small. Well, at least thatâs what a regular person would see. You made sure nobody saw the real size of the room.
It was just like one of those crazy science laboratories from those movies where the scientist always fails to destroy the world. The room had a dim light; the walls were painted black and nothing hung on them. It was a workplace, and you didnât need anyone to learn about your private life. Not like there were many people who came here, but the few that did come werenât very worthy of trust. Besides, Dan already knew where you lived.
In the center of the room, there was a creamy marble table with a few oval tubes, each with a different color liquid inside and some connected to each other. There were also three heavy books at the end of the table and what looked like a cauldron in the middle. On the right side of the table was a library full of grimoires and potions. At the end of the room was a traditional desk among all those strange things. You went behind it, opened the top drawer and took out a map.
You pushed the things that were on it aside, barely caring if any of the stuff fell to the floor. You opened the map, then took the black crystal you had around your neck and extended your hand above the map.
âDimitte ergo me, inveniet eos,â you repeated three times (let me find them).
The necklace started to spin around slowly before going faster; you had to hold it firmly in precaution. When it was time, you let it land on a little part of the map, making you smirk.
Dean POV
The second Dean Winchester crossed the bridge to enter Tree Hill, he knew something was off by the vibes the town was giving him. He repeated it to Sam a few times as they arrived at the only motel in the city, called Hill Motel. Dean stopped complaining about it when Sam insisted that there were too many disappearances in the town to leave it like that.
The worst part was when the Impala broke down right after their visit to the police station. Â After checking his car for few minutes, he eventually let Sam call a garage. The tow truck came only after 30 minutes, and Dean was beyond pissed. He almost threatened the kid, that if his Baby was more hurt than it should be, then he would have to hide on another planet. But the teenager, only around 17, didn't seem to be very impressed by Deanâs temper and Sam had to calm Dean down a bit. Sam knew his brother would never let anyone touch his Baby and, thanks to him, no one would.
Somehow, probably with his puppy dog eyes, he made sure that Dean would be able to fix the Impala himself. It would cost a little more than expected and it would require them to stay longer than needed in town, but Dean didnât care. No one else would touch his car. Then, as soon as he fixed Baby, they would be able to leave the city.
They were about to leave the garage when Dean realized that the kid had the same last name as the previous victim, Keith Scott. His name was Nathan Scott, and he had short black hair and blue eyes. He was the same size as Dean and shared a slight resemblance with the victim.
âSam. Iâm staying here,â Dean said as they walked out to the car Nathan rented them.
Sam raised an eyebrow at him. âWhy? We still have other interviews to do. Nathan assured you no one would touch her.â
Dean rolled his eyes. âThat I know,â he said. âThe kid is related to the last victim,â he pointed out.
Sam immediately understood where Dean was going, but he scoffed. âDo you think he will talk to you after the way you treated him earlier? If I wasn't around things would be different.â
Dean just shrugged him off. âProbably, but worth the shot.â
âRight,â Sam said. âWell, Iâll go to the library. Call me if you need a ride,â he said, before climbing into the car.
Dean nodded, and then went back in the garage. âHey Kid,â he called as he walked in.
Nathan turned to Dean and held a hand to him, motioning that he was on the phone and would handle him once he was done.
Dean waited and watched him. He didnât look like a fierce person, more like a nice guy who youâd want to be friends with. But his gut told him not to trust anyone in this town. So, better safe than sorry, he would keep his distance and make sure he got the info they needed. A few seconds later, Nathan hung up the phone and looked at him.
âDo you need something?â he asked.
âI figured I would work on the car now,â Dean said.
Nathan narrowed his eyes. âSir, your partner already told you that no one will touâŠâ
âI know, I know. But the faster I fix the car, the sooner I am out of this place and can pay you for everything,â Dean interrupted.
He watched Nathan. He could tell the kid was debating inside if he should let him or not. Finally, after a few seconds, or probably minutes, Nathan nodded. âAlright. You will have to stop at 7 p.m. I don't want you to be here after that.â
âDeal,â Dean said with a grin before going to his car and starting to work on it.
After only a few hours of working on the car and trying to talk with Nathan, Dean learned that Keith was his uncle and that he used to own the garage until his dad bought it one or two months before Keithâs death. While he was under his car, he heard someone coming in, but didnât pay much attention. Nathanâs tone, however, caught his interest, since it suggested that the person wasn't friendly. He didnât have the opportunity to hear much of the conversation, but did catch the sound of a woman laughing.
The sound made his stomach flip inside him and he stopped in his tracks, looking towards it. From where he was, Dean could hardly see anything, just a pair of heels turning around Nathan for a second, then walking toward the exit. Dean waited at least a minute before sliding away from the car. He stood up and grabbed an old cloth filled with engine oil.
He noticed the concerned look on Nathanâs face as he wiped his hand with the old cloth. âHey Nathan,â he called. âYou ok, kiddo?â
Nathan sighed and raised an eyebrow at him. âYeah. You done with the car?â he asked, changing the subject.
Dean shook his head. âNeed a new carburetor,â he said. âProbably will take a few more days.â
Nathan frowned. âI will need to look if we have one for your car model, but I doubt it. This car is very rare,â he said walking toward his desk.
Dean was somewhat impressed with his knowledge for such a young age, but he knew not to be fooled by that. âAre you okay? You seem concerned since your girl visited?â
Nathan shook his head, typing on the computer. âShe isn't my girl,â he snapped. âLike I said, there aren't many carburetors for your car around here. We will have to order it online.â
Just like that, Dean knew that Nathan wouldn't feel like talking about anything else private, and that insisting would be a waste of time. Dean didn't want to look suspicious and lose the little trust Nathan had given him. Dean knew he had to take small steps with him, somehow.
Nathan POV
Around 8 pm, once he had closed the garage, Nathan decided to drive to the city hall to give his father a piece of his mind. Heâd had enough, enough of seeing her always around each corner and enough of her coming to his house, his school, and his job. And most importantly, heâd had enough of his father only caring about them when something big happened. Instead of coming himself, his father would always send her, (Y/N) Morris, his so-called assistant. In truth, everyone knew what she was and what she was capable of doing.
Nathan was tolerating (Y/N) because she was his cousin from his motherâs side. His mother took her in when she was six years old and took care of her until Nathan was born. Except things changed. He had no idea what happened when he turned five; she was taken to a boarding school until she came back three years ago. Nathan never understood her, and he didn't think he probably ever would.
He climbed out of his car and walked toward the city hall. When he was halfway there, he saw his father coming out of the building talking to someone. Nathan didnât wait for him to finish his conversation and walked straight to him.
âDad, you need to stop doing that!â he spat.
Dan raised his eyebrow. He sent his employee away before turning to his son. âNow Nathan, what exactly did I do to bother you.â He smirked.
Nathan frowned. â(Y/N)!â he said. âYou sent her again.â
â(Y/N)? I didn't send her or anyone to you,â he said. âProbably a friendly visit. She is family, after all.â
Nathan scoffed. âRight. You must have forgotten about that when you sent her away,â he said and started to leave. âJust tell her to stop coming to visit unless she doesn't work for you anymore.â
As Nathan walked toward his car, he could feel his father stare at him, but he could also feel someone else staring. Before climbing into his vehicle, he quickly looked around, but didn't see anyone. So, he shook the feeling off and jumped into his car. The engine was brought back to life as he turned the key in the ignition, and he quickly drove off, thinking he had won an argument with his father.
Later that night
(Dean POV)
After a long day of fixing his car, he had tried to interview Karen Roe about Keithâs death. She didnât understand the reason why the FBI would investigate his death and barely wanted to answer his questions. Her son, Lucas, made sure she wouldn't answer any. Dean decided to go for a drink. He wanted Sam to join him, but his brother turned his offer down in order to work on the case more. Dean sometimes felt like Sam worked too much and needed more fun. He smirked at that thought. However, a neon sign saying âTricâ he came across interrupted his thinking.
Dean raised an eyebrow at the sign. Was this town trying to send him a message? Or a threat? He wasnât sure, and as Sam said earlier, he should stop seeing evil everywhere when there wasn't. He shrugged, parked the car in the parking lot, and hoped he would be able to get inside of the nightclub seeing the long queue to get in. If not, he would head back to the motel. Dean usually went to bars, but the nightclub was close to his motel, and he didn't feel like driving around town in a rented car he didn't like.
He joined the queue and waited at least 15 minutes before he was able to enter the club. He ignored all the glares he had received and sat down in front of the bar.
âAgent, I told you I had nothing to say anymore,â a female voice said through the sound of the music.
Dean looked up at Karen Roe and sighed. âI know, but I am not here to ask questions,â he said. âI just want to drink a few beers and have fun.â
Her brows snapped together. âYou realize that now that the school let out, the girls in here are mainly teenagers.â
Dean rubbed his face annoyed. âThatâs my luck,â he said, looking at the bar and noticing that she wasn't wrong. He wasn't even sure how to tell the difference between those who were over 21 and those who werenât.
Karen opened her mouth but was cut short. âNot all of them are teens,â said a feminine voice, sitting next to him.
Dean didnât notice the weird look Karen was giving her, he only focused on the girl next to him, smirking at her and liking the confidence she had. He also liked the curves he noticed through her outfit.
âReally? Is it? Well, as long as you aren't one of them,â Dean said drinking in his beer.
She giggled, âI turned 23 today.â
âHappy birthdayâŠ'
â(Y/N) and you are?â
âDean,â he said with a grin. âLovely name you have, (Y/N)â he said. âWe should party in a place where there aren't teenagers around.â He glanced around once again.
She stood up. "Well, I think thatâs a good idea,â she said. âI know a place where they serve good alcohol and don't have teenagers around.â
Dean pursed his lips and stood up. âIâm game.â He put some money on the counter. He was caught off guard when she took his hand to leave the place, as her touch made his stomach flip again. He wasn't sure what it meant, but he quickly pushed it aside, as long he was away from teenagers.
In the parking lot, Dean gently grabbed her arms to stop her. âListen, my car isn't the greatest at the moment, itâs a rentâŠâ he started to say.
âYou that one? Donât worry. I have my baby with me.â She winked at him before walking toward her bike.
Dean shook his head. âI don't think so, sweetheart. This car isn't the best, but at least it's safe.â
(Y/N) laughed and Dean frowned recognizing it from earlier in the garage. âWhatâs wrong, Dean. Afraid of a little bike? Or is it just that you want to be in control of the ride,â she said seductively, grabbing the two sides of his jacket and pulling him closer to her.
Deanâs eyes darkened with lust, his hands automatically found their way on her lower back, and a smirk appeared on his face. âOh, sweetheart. Iâm good with letting my partners take control,â he said with a deep husky voice.
She licked her lips, went to her tiptoes and whispered in his ear, âThen let me give you the ride of your life.â
He was nearly panting. âYou know just how to talk to me,â he whispered as he was turning his head to kiss her. (Y/N) stepped back and winked at him then walked toward her bike.
Dean watched her as she walked, swinging her hips left to right. He bit his lips and sighed, hoping he wouldn't regret it. He followed her, took the helmet she gave him and sat behind her.
(Y/N) Pov
You parked your bike in front of an old building. It was a huge one that seemed to have 12 floors. You hid a laugh. You had felt Deanâs tension through the whole drive. He was gripping you hard every turn you made, and every time you raced over the limit. You saw that he tried to compose himself like the tough guy he was before you gave him the ride of his life.
Deanâs head turned toward the building and he tightened his lips. âUnless this place hides a smaller building with a bar in it. I doubt weâll find alcohol inside.â
âDonât worry, there is plenty of alcohol in this intimate bar, and no teenagers will bother us.â You smiled.
You watched as Dean glanced between the building and you twice. You could tell he had a quick mini-debate inside whether to follow you or not. You decided to interfere a little by extending your hand to him. âCome on Dean. It will be fun,â you said with a smirk. Dean gave in and took your hand before you led him into the building.
Your apartment was on the last floor and lucky you, there was an elevator to reach it. The minute the door closed, a sensual tension filled the room. Youâd always had a kink for elevators and couldnât help but imagine him all over you. You looked at the number and saw that you were only on the third floor.
âOnly nine more floors to go,â you thought.
You cleared your throat. âWell, this is kinda hot.â You watched him, saw his Adam's apple move, he turned to face you, his face was serious and his eyes shadowed with lust.
âIt is?â he asked with a husky voice. âTell me about it.â He stepped closer to you.
You eyed the number and saw that it was on the fifth floor now. âSeven more,â you thought.
You smirked. âHow about we just make it hapâŠâ You couldnât finish your sentence because heâd pinned you against the wall and his lips were over yours. His hands roamed your body up and down, making you moan against his lips. You gripped his shirt, then pushed him against the other wall. He grinned through the kiss, loving when a woman took over.
You almost ripped his shirt open and smirked before kissing him again. Until you heard the sound of the door opening, you grabbed him by his tie. Dean smirked, he grabbed his jacket that fell down to the floor, his bare chest visible. He liked that you didnât seem to care about the surroundings. In the doorway, an old lady was shocked to see you almost naked. Dean with his shirt half open while you had your shorts open. You chuckled as Dean blushed and mumbled some excuse as the old lady ran from the elevator.
As you opened your apartment door, Dean had his hand wrapped around you and his lips on your neck, sucking and nibbling it. He used his feet to close the door. You turned to face him, kissing him hard and rough without pulling away. You made your way to your room with him taking off both of your clothes.
You pushed him down on your mattress naked and straddled him, but he stopped. âHey, I donât want to ruin the fun, but do you have any condoms?â he asked, smirking.
You smirked in reply. âI am on my pills. Donât worry,â you said, leaning down to kiss him.
âStill, condoms are safer,â he replied as he stopped you, again.
You rolled your eyes and pulled away from him. âFine, but youâre lucky youâre hot,â you said, walking into the bathroom. âDonât touch anythingâ you called out.
You walked out with a condom you finally found after an exhausting 15 minutes looking for one. You showed it to Dean like a kid who had won a trophy. âDean, ready forâŠâ You stopped, seeing the book in his hand. âWell, weâll need to talk now,â you said.
Dean glared at you. âYou think, (Y/N)?â he said and was surprised when you straddled him again, but frowned. âWhatâs the matter? I like the occult, thatâs all,â you said.
âYou know, itâs called witchcraft,â he said. âYou seem to know more, according to this.â
You rolled your eyes. âYou seem to know a lot about it. Let me guess? Good Witch?â
âHunter,â he simply said. âYou know I have to take care of you, now?â
âYeah, I know.â You winked at him. âLook, Iâm not going to hurt anyone, at the moment. I was just curious. I swear,â you said, leaning down to kiss him but he stopped.
âReally? Just curiosity?â he asked, looking into your eyes, not sure if he should believe you or not.
You nodded. âYeah,â you said, grinding on him. He groaned, and you didnât give him the chance to answer as you started to ride him, forgetting about the condom.

There Goes Our Love Again

xiv. Is It Getting Better Or Do You Feel The SameÂ
âOooh, Farkle! You owe me two-hundred bucks for landing on my property!â Riley exclaimed, bouncing excitedly in her spot.
âWhat?! No way!â Farkle complained.
âYes way! Or are you trying to argue with the rules because youâre a big whiny baby?â she teased. Farkle huffed, narrowing his eyes and staring at her. Riley pushed her forehead up against his and stared back, challenging him in return. They held their positions like that for a good few minutes until Naomi sneezed, causing Farkle to look away.
âHa! I win! Fork the money over, Minkus!â she extended her hand out, waiting for the fake money to land in her palm.
âUgh,â he muttered, handing her the Monopoly dollars begrudgingly before turning back towards Naomi, âBless you!â She smiled at him, amused.
âGee, thanks,â she said, but he could tell she was only joking.
Life fell into a normal pattern for Farkle. Nowadays, it was mostly work and Naomi that preoccupied his time, with the exception of his friends as often as he could. He had a lot of projects that took up all of his time, causing him to spend late nights at the office. Their remedy to his busy schedule was to have a game night whenever he had an hour or two free, playing board games like Monopoly and Sorry! and just having a good time overall.
Sometimes it was Maya, Lucas, Farkle, Naomi, Zay, and Riley playing together, but whenever Isadora was in town, she took Rileyâs place so that the other couples could have a âcoupleâs nightâ. Farkle didnât keep in contact as much with Riley, but whenever she was over to play games, it was like their problems disappeared and they were kids again, fighting over who was going to get the red piece in Sorry! or the thimble in Monopoly. It was all good and easy for Farkle, and he liked not having to worry about much.
It was comfortable. Farkle liked comfortable.
Things with Naomi were going well, too. He enjoyed her company immensely, always loved hearing the stories she had to tell about her day at Minkus International and whatever weird experience she had outside of work (she had those often.) Farkle would try to explain to the best of his ability what project they were working on at his office, and Naomi would simply listen despite Farkleâs premonition that she had no idea what he was talking about. They had even told each other they loved one another, which was also a big relationship milestone. It was perfect, and Farkle loved everything about it.
He spent the rest of his week fairly happy, not even daring to let the rain that fell on Friday ruin his mood. Farkle was determined to believe that his life was making a 180°, and he was finally having that sort of peace he was longing for. He did wish he could get out from work earlier, but if that was just one little sacrifice that had to be made on his path to happiness, then he was A-Okay with that.
When he finished up for the day at work, he shuffled around to get his workspace cleaned up in the lab before setting off to retrieve his bag from his office, taking his lab coat off and hanging it up on the hook on the door when he reached it. As he gathered the last of his belongings and packed them up in his bag, his office phone started ringing. Farkle picked it up off the hook, answering it.
âHello?â
âOh, good. Youâre still here. Minkus, could you come to my office for a moment before leaving?â his boss asked.
âUh, sure thing,â Farkle told him.
âThank you. Iâll see you in a minute.â
Farkle hung up the phone, wondering what he was being called over for. It wasnât strange for him to talk to his boss at all, but normally he saved those conversations for during the day when they were working on things in the office, not in the evening when mostly everyone was leaving to go home. He exited his office and locked it up before heading down the hall and to the left, searching for Dr. Hollandâs own crook, hidden away towards the end. His knuckles rapped on the door softly before he opened the door, poking his head in.
âAh, Farkle Minkus. Come on in,â Dr. Holland told him, waving him inside his office. âCould you please take a seat? This wonât take too long.â
Farkle did as he was told, but he couldnât help shaking his own leg, nervously awaiting what Dr. Holland was going to tell him. Was he going to fire him? No, that was silly. He was an excellent worker, and they were well off at the company. Maybe he mussed something up and Dr. Holland was calling him in to yell at him? Again, that was an unlikely reason. Dr. Holland wasnât the kind of person to blow up at people randomly. He was nice and even-keeled, and he would explain calmly what wrong instead of yelling.
So what was he here for?
He listened to Dr. Holland type away at his computer keyboard for a moment before swiveling in his chair back towards Farkle completely, folding his hands at his desk.
âNow, I know youâre probably wondering why I brought you up here, and let me say first that this is not for anything bad at all. Itâs very good, actually,â Dr. Holland prefaced. âYouâre one of my best and brightest, which is why I thought of you first for this opportunity. I know you havenât been here for a long time and have settled well, but I figured youâd like to hear my offer.â
âWhat offer?â Farkle asked him. Dr. Holland grinned.
âThereâs a position open at BioLabs in Seattle, Washington. Itâs a biomedical engineer job, of course, but youâd be one of the higher ups, as well as have quite the increase in salary. Youâd be making one-hundred and five-thousand dollars a year, and youâd have to leave in two weeks to take the job. How does that sound to you?â
Farkle was dumbfounded.
This was an incredible opportunity for him. Heâd heard about BioLabs when he was back in California, but he never imagined working there himself. Plus, heâd be getting quite the pay increase, as well as doing more prestigious biomedical engineering work. Itâd be hard to say no to that.
But . . .
But he was very happy where he was. He was happy to be back around his friends and family, Farkle had only just begun his life over in New York. Was he really finished here? Was he destined to be elsewhere?
âYou donât have to answer right now if you need to think it over,â Dr. Holland told him after a long pause of radio silence from Farkleâs end. âJust let me know by Monday, okay?â
âI think I can do that,â Farkle agreed, standing up from his chair. âThank you so much for this opportunity, Dr. Holland,â he told his boss before exiting the room.
As he approached the elevator and hit the button to ride it down, his brain was full of a billion thoughts. He didnât really know what his choice wasâif he was asked months ago, before returning back to New York, he probably wouldâve said yes in a heartbeat. But heâs been back quite a while now, and heâs since re-rooted himself back in the city he loves so dearly. Can he really just leave that behind?
Farkle got on the elevator, pressing the first-floor button while thinking it over some more. When the elevators opened again, he hurriedly exited out of the building and hailed a cab, knowing exactly where he needed to go.
 //
Farkle knocked at the apartment door when he arrived, anticipating the resident to answer. The door swung open and Naomi stood there, Chinese take-out in hand, her brows raised in surprise.
âFarkle! I didnât realize youâd be coming over tonight. Câmon inside!â
He followed her in and she shut the door behind them, placing her lo mein on the dinner table, enveloping him in a hug.
âHowâs it going, babe?â she asked him.
âI need to talk to you about something. Can we sit down on the couch?â Naomi nodded her head.
âYeah, of course.â Farkle laid his bag on the table and walked to the living room, taking a seat in the empty spot next to Naomi. He breathed a moment before grabbing her hands, squeezing them.
âNaomi, Iâve just been offered a job to work at BioLabs. Itâs one-hundred and five-thousand dollars a year, and Iâd be one of the main engineers there,â he told her.
âThatâs amazing, Farkle! Iâm so proud of you!â she smiled, leaning in to hug him. Farkle stopped her before she could, holding up a hand.
âWait, thereâs something else,â he said. âItâs in Seattle, Washington, and Iâd have to move two weeks from now.â Naomi processed what he said a moment before tilting her head.
âSo are you going to take it?â she inquired of him.
âThatâs what I was going to ask you. I wanted to know if you wanted to come move with me to Washington.â Naomi remained speechless a moment, her mouth agape and her eyes wide as she thought over Farkleâs request. It was bold, for sure, but he thought it was what he wanted.
âOh, Farkle,â she began, brow crinkled as she offered him a tiny grin, âI would love to, butââ
âBut?â he asked.
âBut I canât. I love you, I really do, but I donât think this is what you want.â
âWhat do you mean?â
âIt means that while Iâve had a fun time with you, I donât think this is something that could endure,â she explained sadly. Farkle didnât understand.
âWhy canât we work?â
âBecause youâre still in love with Riley,â she answered him simply, leaving Farkle the speechless one this time.
That was ridiculous! He loved spending time with Naomi. He loved hanging out with her and watching movies and talking science together.
Before he could finish his own argument in his head, Naomi added something that shocked Farkle to the core.
âAnd Riley is in love with you, Farkle.â
âW-What?â he stammered.
âIâve seen the way you two look at each other like thereâs no one else in the world. You may love the things we do together, but you donât really love me as a person. You love Riley wholly, and if thereâs anyone you should be asking to accompany you to Seattle, itâs her. You owe it to yourself to be happy, Farkle. Donât throw away that shot; take it.â
âSo that means . . .?â he continued to press.
âThat means weâre breaking up, Iâm afraid. Iâve had a lovely time with you, but itâs hard to be in a relationship with someone whoâs in love with someone else. Thank you for everything, Farkle.â
As Naomi wrapped him in a hug and sent him on his way out her door, Farkle was trying his best to mull over what she had told him, thinking about it all the way to the sidewalk. He didnât hail a cab right away, just found a bench, sat, and thought. He thought so hard that it felt like his brain might explode or turn into jelly or something, because nothing and everything made sense.
Iâve seen the way you look two at each other like thereâs no one else in the world.
Because youâre still in love with Riley, Farkle.
And Riley is in love with you.
Heâd been trying his best to ignore that notion since theyâd danced at the wedding, but what Naomi said couldnât be anything but true. He would always love Riley, and he would always be in love with Riley, because she was the one. She was the one that kept him grounded, that could make him smile when he felt like his whole world was crumbling. She had always loved him unconditionally and he her, and they were each otherâs best friends and each otherâs everything. Farkle couldnât doubt that, not for a second.
Naomi was right, and he needed to see Riley.
Now.
 //
Rileyâs apartment had luckily only been a few blocks away from Naomiâs, and as soon as the rain began to pour down again, Farkle knew that trying to get a taxi would be next to impossible. So instead he ran down the sidewalk, his bag flopping against his side as the rain splattered against his face, his heart racing in his chest. He watched the street signs carefully and took right and left turns when he needed to, and as soon as he saw the familiar, faded red-brick building belonging to Riley, he made a beeline straight inside and to the side stairs.
Farkle only slipped a couple of times before reaching the fifth floor, swinging the metal door open wide, trails of rain droplets from his person following behind him. He stopped abruptly when he reached her door, only pausing a moment to catch his breath before knocking rapidly for her attention.
Come on, come on, come on, he urged in his mind. Be home.
Riley answered the door, her face full of concern when Farkle appeared before her, wet as can be from the pouring rain.
âFarkle, what are you doing here?â she asked, adding as an afterthought, âMore importantly, what are you doing here dripping wet?â
âCan I talk to you?â he asked a question in return. Riley shook her head, bewildered, but ushered him inside, disappearing for only a moment to retrieve a towel for him. When she offered it, he denied it, his mind focused on more important things.
âSo, what do you need to talk to me about all dripping wet for?â
âI got a job offer in Seattle. Theyâre asking me to move there in two weeks,â Farkle answered. Riley beamed at him.
âThatâs great! Are you going to take it?â
âThereâs another thing I need to address first.â
âWhatâs that?â she inquired.
âRiley, Iâm in love with you,â he stated firmly, dĂ©jĂ vu ringing throughout his mind. But this time he was confident, and nothing could stop him.
âWhat?â
âAnd youâre in love with me,â he told her. Riley dropped the towel in her hands immediately, an astonished expression on her face.
âFarkle, I donât . . . I . . . what?â He grabbed her hands in his, her hands that were wildly warm compared to his clammy, cold ones, staring her straight in the eyes.
âI want you to come to Seattle with me,â he said. âOr tell me to stay. Acknowledge that you have some inkling of feelings for me, because I know you do, Riley.â
âB-But Naomi?â she stuttered, a dazed look in her eyes.
âWe broke up,â Farkle stated. âSo?â
âSo? So? Farkle I . . . I canât,â she finally gave him her response to his question, making his heart drop like a weight into his stomach. He let go of her hands, a betrayed look crossing his face.
âCanât, or wonât?â he asked her. âThereâs one thing I donât understand, Riley. Why is it that everyone notices that you look at me the same way I look at you, and they all know you love me the way I love you, but you canât ever admit that to me?â
âItâs not that simple, Farkle,â Riley told him pointedly, but Farkle was just disappointed.
âYes, it is and you know it. I just donât get it. Is it really that hard to love me?â
âThatâs not it!â Riley yelled. Farkle stood there a long moment before uttering softly,
âThen tell me to stay.â
They both gazed at each other a while longer, the silence becoming unbearable for Farkle. But then Riley uttered one word, one simple, stupid word, and Farkle knew his decision on whether to stay or to go had been set in stone.
âNo.â
Farkle left Riley in her apartment without another word, angry, just angry, at Riley and at the world, and he knew that he could accept change.
He called his boss on Saturday and took the job.

Storybrooke
The people of Storybrooke watched the portal closing in the middle of the sea. Their Savior, their Prince and Princess, together with three of the worst villains Storybrooke had ever seen were disappearing as the portal became smaller and smaller. On the docks, Ruby, Granny, Belle, Archie, and the dwarves were waiting. For what? Even they didnât know.
âNow what?â Ruby asked, still staring at the water.
âRumple gave me this,â Belle said, turning to face them and showing the scroll of paper she was holding with both of her hands.
âWhat is that?â Ruby asked her new friend.
âItâs a spell. Rumple said others will try to come to the city now that Greg and Tamara are gone, and this spell wonât let them,â Belle explained.
âShould we trust any spell that comes from the Dark One?â Grumpy asked them with a frown; his eyebrows were down and close together and his lips were set in a straight line.
âWe shouldnât, but right now this spell is our only protection against anyone who might come into the city with bad intentions,â Archie tried to explain not just to Grumpy, but to all of them.
âBut who could enact it?â Belle asked him. âThe only people who use magic are gone now.â
âThere are the fairies. They can help!â Happy said out of nowhere.
____________________________
Everyone agreed that right now the fairies, especially Blue, would be their best chance to enact the spell. Together, they started to walk towards the convent without another look at the sea that was calm again. Almost as if a portal hadnât opened there just a few minutes ago.
While the protection spell was covering Storybrooke bit by bit, no one knew that exactly at that same moment, on the other side of the town, a black Mustang was crossing the town line and was entering Storybrooke.
The car didnât stop when it passed by the 'Welcome to Storybrookeâ Â sign, nor when the magic touched the town line, making the town invisible for anyone who wasnât from Storybrooke. The car continued on its way to the center of town, passed by the library and stopped in front of Grannyâs. Â If someone saw the new car in town, they all decided to ignore it.
When the carâs door opened, a woman stepped out. She was tall and her step was gentle when she started to walk toward the entrance of Grannyâs Bed and Breakfast. She stepped inside and the first person she saw was Ruby, who was at the front office.
âHello,â the woman started to talk to her.
Ruby raised her head from the book she was reading and looked at the person who spoke to her. She was stunned to see a new face in Storybrooke and, at the same time, she was frightened. They enacted the protection spell less than thirty minutes ago; there was no way someone already found a way back into town.
âHello?â Ruby said with an eyebrow raised. âMay I help you?â
âYes,â the woman took off her sunglasses and looked straight at Ruby with big, bright, and brown eyes. âI am looking for a room.â
âWe have a few here. Are you new in town?â
âOh yes, I just arrived,â the woman said, smiling at her.
âOkay,â Ruby said suspiciously. âI can help you with a room. I just need to know how long you will be here.â Ruby took out the notebook they were using to keep track of the occupants of the rooms.
âI-I donât really know that. I am looking for a person, so I guess Iâll stay til I find him. Is that a problem? The fact that I canât tell you for how long Iâll be here?â the woman asked with an eyebrow raised.
âOh no, I just need to know how long I need to save the room for.â
âI guess a few weeks should be enough.â
âOkay,â Ruby wrote down the information. âOh, and I will also need your name.â
âItâs Milah Spinner,â the woman, Milah, said smiling at Ruby.
âHere is your room key,â Ruby said, giving Milah a key. âEnjoy your stay!â Ruby said with a fake smile. She watched Milah leave when she realised that she had to find out one more important thing.
âHey!â Ruby yelled after Milah. When she turned to face her, Ruby started to talk. âDo you, by any chance, know Greg Mendell or his girlfriend, Tamara?â
âUh, no. Never heard of them.â
âYou sure?â
âYeah, I have a really good memory. I think I would remember one of them.â
Ruby wasnât as good as Emma when it come to spotting a lie. She didnât have any superpower, but she could tell when a person was lying and Milah was not lying. She told Ruby the truth. She didnât know Greg or Tamara and for the moment, that was a relief.
âOkay, thanks.â
Milah left with a smile on her face while Ruby was still wondering about her. She was curious about how this woman came into the city. Who was she, what did she want, and most importantly, who was she looking for? Ruby had questions and she needed answers to those questions. Emma, Snow, and Charming were counting on her, on them, the ones who were left in Storybrooke, to keep the town safe, with or without the protection spell. And if no one was going to help her, then she would do everything by herself.
____________________________
The next day, Ruby was at the diner behind the counter when Milah entered. No one noticed her, even though it was obvious to everyone with two eyes that she hadnât been in the town from the beginning.
âThese people were smarter in the Enchanted Forest before they discovered technologyâ Ruby thought to herself, rolling her eyes.
âBack to work Ruby!â Granny said behind her.
âGranny! Just the person I needed!â Ruby said turning to her grandma.
âOh?â
âCome here.â Ruby signaled to her to come closer. âThat woman is new in town,â she said, pointing her head towards Milah.
âHow?â
âI donât know, but we need to find out.â
âYou have her name?â
âYes, sheâs staying at the inn. Her name is Milah Spinner and she said that sheâs looking for a man. She doesnât know Greg or Tamara though. I asked her.â
âLet me,â Granny said, putting her apron on the counter.
Ruby watched as her granny walked towards Milah.
âHello, honey.â Granny started with a sweet smile.
âHello?â
âIâm Granny Lucas, the owner of both this diner and the inn. You might also call me the welcoming committee of the town,â Ruby heard Granny saying.
âOh, hi! My name is Milah.â
âWelcome to town Milah. I heard from my grand-daughter, Ruby, that you are looking for a man. I was wondering if I can help you since I know everyone from this town.â
âOh, that would be amazing.â Ruby watched as a smile spread on Milahâs face. âI am looking for Killian Jones. He is tall, dark hair, blue eyes. Itâs been⊠a while since Iâve seen him, but I know for sure that he is here. Or he should be here.â
âOh, Iâm sorry darling, but I donât know anyone with that name⊠Maybe you are in the wrong town.â
âNo, Iâm sure Iâm in the right town. He should be here. Maybe you just missed him. Heâs good at⊠hiding.â
âFor 28 years? Sure, darling,â Ruby said to herself, rolling her eyes again.
Even she didnât know anyone by that name, and she knew every man in Storybrooke.
âWell, maybe you just have to search harder.â Granny said without any trace of a smile. âEnjoy your meal, Milah.â
Granny came back behind the counter and made a sign to Ruby to follow her to the kitchen.
âSo?â Ruby asked when she entered the kitchen.
âYou heard what she said. Do you know that person?â
âI donât. There are many people that are tall with black hair and blue eyes in Storybrooke, but I donât know anyone with that name.â
âThen we have to find him before she does. God knows who he is and who he was in the Enchanted Forest.â
âI wish Emma, Snow, and Charming were here.â
âI wish that too, but there is nothing we can do about that. They have to find Henry. Hopefully they wonât kill each other in the meantime.â
âWhy would they?â
âDonât forget, Regina is there with them. And from what I understand, Gold and Hook arenât on good terms, either.â
âHook shot Belle after all.â Ruby agreed with Granny.
âBefore that. They hated each other in the Enchanted Forest. They hated each other here, and I am sure they hate each other where they are right now.â
âWhere do you think they are?â
âI donât know, but we have other problems here to take care of,â Granny said, looking at Milah again.

Neverland
Somewhere in Neverland, in the middle of the sea there was a ship. In the sky, the clouds of a storm were starting to disappear while on the ship everyone was worried for the life of Emma Swan, who almost drowned that night.
Below deck in his room, Killian Jones was in shock after Emma Swan almost gave up her life on his ship. He didnât know what shocked him the most; the fact that Emma was so insane that she actually jumped off of the ship in the middle of a storm just to make them stop fighting, or that she almost died in front of him. After a few more minutes of thinking and more rum, he realized what shocked him the most: the idea of Emma dying, right there and then in the middle of the deck, on the same spot another woman that was important to him gave her life, so many years ago.
Hookâs mind flew to another time, a time where he was another person. There was a woman he loved, a woman who loved him back and he was known to the world as Captain Killian Jones, not Captain Hook. The idea of Emma almost dying there reminded him of the moment Milah died on his ship. Another thing that scared him even more were the feelings he had in that moment. Because the feelings Killian Jones had when Emma Swan almost died were the same feelings he had when Milah died and he didnât know what that could mean. And if he was completely honest with himself, he was afraid to know.
____________________________
Okay, so this is the first chapter. I feel like I need to say that this is and will be a Captain Swan story! Milah being alive will not intervene in their relationship in any way! You will find out more about her in the future chapters and also Emma and Killian will appear more in the next one!
I am also NOT rewriting the Neverland arc in any way! I'd like to believe this is an original story and I did not seen something like this in the fandom so far.
So yes... That's it.Â
Please let me know what you think? It would mean the world to me.

My Comet Experience August 23 evening
I recorded audio which i will trade/gift so feel free to message me and also if you see an asterisk * next to a bullet point that means you can hear what I just described in my audio because I sat right on stage and it's sooo cool (like footsteps, singing, and slamming into the rail above me)Â
(Sorry if I repeat myself from the last post I don't remember what I wrote then)
-I sat on stage this time!!! Alex was my pierogi boyyy and I said Hi Alex! And he said Hey!! And placed his hand on his chest and then proceeded to give us the basket to pass around and explain the rulesss. He was so funny I love him
-After the pierogis Nick C was just standing above me facing the orchestra so I went "Hi Nick!" And he had to look for me for a sec and then he asked how I was and talked about how the dumplings needed chutney or some sort of sauce... ok nick... lol It was a bit random so I just kind of smiled and yeahed it all (he's gr8 tho I love him)Â
-Before prologue started Lucas was standing near my pit and he pointed to me (I'm assuming because I was wearing a Comet Tshirt) smiled, and wiggled/raised his eyebrows (literally died a lil)
-Kennedy was on for Helene tonight! Her voice is very different from Amber's but I actually enjoyed her a lot! Her and Lucas definitely did not have the chemistry that he and Amber did thoughÂ
-Also Nick B's costume change into Bolkonsky is incredibly quick wow
-I'm really sad I missed Scott by a day because I'm seeing Dave twice now but anyways I made eye contact with him a lotÂ
-Private and Intimate life Paul hobbles in as the servant, and the first time I saw the show I thought it was hilarious because I was in the mez and couldn't see his face but this time noooo it was so scary. His eyes are literally rolled into the back of his headÂ
-Bolkonsky screamed NONSENSE instead of songstress? *Â
-Mary pulls the young suitor from where I was sitting! He played into it and was great! *Â
-During No One Else Natasha was holding onto the rail above me and made eye contact and held it with me for like 5 seconds while she sang!!!
-I think I said this in my last post but Andrey in the snow and the blue lighting is so beautiful and he's so handsome and she's so cute ugh i love it a lot
-Andrew and Brad sat on the steps by me and caressed each other and sang some of the lines in the beginning of The Opera *Â
-I love the music when they announce Dolokhov and Helene so muchhh (also you can hear their footsteps as they run past me!) *
-Kennedy and Nick also did not have that chemistry Amber had but it was still greatÂ
-Ok but in The Opera 1 Paul's change into the opera outfit??? How did it he do it in like 2 seconds??? and 2 he was standing right above me and he opened his mouth and made the loudest most high pitched scream I've ever heard I was thoroughly SHOOK *Â
-Anatoleâs Entrance is godly as usual
-I love the part where Andrey is getting injured at war i just think it's so cool for some reason?
-He's as handsome up close as at a distance... Lucas is a beautiful boy but when he sang "I never remove my smiling eyes from your face" he was right above me and he was starring into Denee's soul and his eyes were so wide and it was pretty scary tbh I was like whoa
-The whole seize me from behind thing happened right above me and I could hear Lucas kiss her neck *Â
-THE DUEL
-I was so hyped for the duel it's one of my favorite songs to see live
-"Dear Andrey's betrothed" and Anatole's just like ehhhÂ
-Drink drink gonna drink tonight gonna drink tonight gonna drink drinkkkk Dolokhov's dance was performed right above me and wth is it đ it's bizarre I love it *
-lots of grinding, Reed's sparkly high heels omg
-Lucas and Grace come down into my pit... I've heard what happens and oh it happened. First Lucas's butt was literally in my face blocking my view of what he and Grace were doing (not that I'm complaining) but he was so close and so I touched his vest hehe ( i doubt he felt it really it was pretty thick) he whips her and then they switch places and Lucas is standing on the steps and unzipping his pants and Grace is down on her knees and then whoop the lights come on and he zips back up (you can HEAR the whips in my audio) *Â
-When dolokhov got shot he fell into the rail and spit on everyone đ *Â
-Dust and Ashes the main cast and ensemble stand in the rear mezz and some in the orchestra and singÂ
-Ok so Kennedy's Charming was so good! She doesn't have the Angry voice Amber has but her version was amazing and her voice went so high like wow I was not expecting itÂ
-IntermissionnnÂ
-LETTERS
-Letters is my jam and then Paul sat on the steps next to me and I mouthed "Paul!" And waved and he smiled and waved back and we lip synced a bit together. He also had some sort of squeaking quacking thing whenever he would move his body it was probably supposed to be to the beat but he was off lol *Â
-Also a guy had to get up and hand Natasha the letter and he played the part well too! He did like a courteous bow sort of thing after he gave it to her
-Preperations gets me lit ok and nick literally showers lucas with spit when he holds him against the rails
-Balaga is soooo much fun everyone where I sat got a shaker. Balaga is literally everywhere one minute he's in front of me the next he's in the rear mezz (what a madman). He stuck his tongue out at the people in the swivel chairs once or twice in front of me and he pointed at me and smiled big when he ran byÂ
-Ok I sat LITERALLY right underneath the Anatole and dolokhov kiss and... their lips did not touch?? Dolokhov was whispering something in his left ear and then he put his mouth super close like he was teasing him with a kiss but didn't and then dolokhov did like playful? hand motions by anatoleâs chest and smacked his butt (last time i saw the show im pretty sure they did kiss though)
-Slightly disappointed but just being right beneath them during their dance is like the best thing ever so
-ABDUCTION
-I didn't have a glass so I raised my pierogi box and Brandt clinked his glass with my box and some others where we sat :)Â
-Some people at the table beneath Anatole weren't raising their glasses so he yelled at them and forced them to raise them lol
-I love the abduction dance moves so much and idk if I mentioned it in my last post but CHEF BELTONS HIGH KICKS đđđÂ
-"May your numbers be numbered and counted..." Dave that's not the lyric but it's ok đ *
-Gelsey and Billy came into the pit and she sang in my face *
-Ok my best friend was sitting in the abduction seat and I'm not even gonna go into it because it was *no words* but @carnovalesque described it perfectly so thank youÂ
-Lucas's hair got so messy in Pierre and Anatole and his petersburg was on pointÂ
-I love Andreys voice so much also he didn't punch/ shove Pierre he just jabbed him a few times in the chestÂ
-Dave struggled to find his sleeves and that made me happy because when I saw Oak he didn'tÂ
-Only negative I really had was that Dave really didn't show much emotion, maybe he was just off tonight idkÂ
-But anyways I love the bows so much it's literally one of my favorite parts everyone has their own bow and their individual song music playingÂ
-The show was incredible and everyone was so good tonight!!! Sitting on stage was amazing but tbh if it's your first time I recommend NOT sitting on stage cause there's so much going on around you it's pretty hard to keep track of what's even happening, but if you just want to have fun then yeah sit on stage! and our audience was so enthusiastic it was amazing! the first time i went it was a matinee so it was pretty tame but tonight there was so much clapping, and cheering, and whistling WOW i had so much fun :)

Family First Chapter 6
Summary: Emily Tozier knew one thing. Her father loved her as if she was his own. Yet, secrets and lies kept for years will push her into finding out the truth about her real father and his connection with Richie.
Chapters 1Â 2Â 3Â 4Â 5
They found Ethan shaking on the front porch. He was sitting down letting the rain pour on his already soaked clothes. His lips were tinted blue and his hands were holding the step with such pressure that his knuckles almost looked translucent. No one said anything as they approached him. His face said it all. Ethan looked as if he stared death in the face and did not look away
. His eyes looked tired as if he had aged twenty years. Emily helped him on to his feet and walked him inside. The others distracted Ethanâs grandparents as Emily and Ethan headed upstairs. He made no sound other than the casual shiver. She wanted to say something but didnât know what to say.
âIâll grab you some new clothes while you take a shower.â He smiled lightly at Emily before entering the bathroom. She quickly walked into the room and began to go through his luggage for pants and a shirt. He had never been this quiet since she met him. She wanted to ask what happened. She knew something happened it wasnât just their fight. She found a thick sweater and sweatpants that would work well to keep him warm. Emily knocked on the bathroom door lightly. âIâm going to leave these on the counter is that okay?â
There was no response but the bathroom door was unlocked so she took it as a sign that it would be okay. Emily slowly opened the bathroom door. The room was filled with moisture causing the mirror to fog up. She quietly placed the close by the sink. Behind the shower curtain, a quiet sob was heard. Â She did her best to leave as soon as possible. There was nothing she could so and she hated it. Emily tried to understand her friends and people around her since others had a hard time understanding her. How do you understand someone who will not talk to you about what they are going through? Emily decided that hot chocolate may not be the answer to everything but it could help with the cold. Thirty minutes past before Ethan walked into the room. Emily sat there with two mugs of hot chocolate in her hands. She smiled awkwardly at Ethan before motioning for him to sit next to her. He sat next to her silently and took one of the mugs from her hand. They sat there silently for a few minutes. The rain bounced off the closed window. As calming as rain should be it was nothing of the sort. Emily could feel the anxiety coming off of Ethan. His breathing was hard and she thought of offering her inhaler.
âThank you.â Emily jumped at the sound of his voice. It was scratchy and Emily almost didnât hear it. He looked tired and worn out as if he was thrown around like a doll.
âOf course, I thought it would help, with the coldness.â Emily traced her thumb on the mug feeling herself becoming nervous. Ethan made a snorting noise before laughing for the first time that night.
âcoldness, really?â
âShut up. I am trying to help you.â
âWell, you are off to a bad start.â Emily began to stand up at that. Ethan began to laugh louder and grabbed for Emilyâs hand. âIâm kidding, Iâm kidding. You are helping please stay.â Emily sat down with a smile feeling victorious. They began to talk about small things anything that didnât happen in the last twenty-four hours. It didnât matter the time for one hour turned to two and two turned to three.
âSo I told him that if he ever tried to send Kelly dick picks again I would send them to his mother.â Emily giggled in between words trying to explain the story from tenth grade. Both mugs were left on the table empty.
âAre you serious?â Ethan was laughing so hard that he almost fell off the bed. âWhat did he do?â
âHe sent her another one a week later.â
âWhat you do?â
âI sent them to his mother. She was very sweet. I saw him cry during lunch it was fantastic.â Both teens broke out in laughter. Emily felt her breath quicken and she reached for her inhaler and took a puff before smiling at Ethan. Her asthma had been acting up since she started this trip. It had been very emotional and Ethan was there every step of the way. She wanted to be there for him too. Once they both settled down a comforting silence grew between them.
âIâm sorry for being so cold to you recently. I have been getting dreams too but not as nice as yours.â
âWhat do you mean?â Ethan sighed before continuing.
âYou see moments from both your fathersâ lives. Iâve seen some as well but they are not so happy. I donât know how to explain it but there is something wrong with this town. I understand why my dad stayed away from it. I donât know how Lucas does it.â Emily had noticed since they arrived that the town had been off. Everything looked normal but it also seemed like a façade. The adults seemed nice enough but none of them seemed very aware except for those like Mike.
âI saw Richie and Eddie by the bleachers today It wasnât a dream I pinched myself and they were there kissing behind the bleachers. I felt like I interrupted a private moment in time. Itâs great to know that they have this relationship but it was scary at the same time.â Ethan nodded in understanding. Emily didnât want to complain about what she has seen because it wasnât bad at all. She found out why her father was so sad. He missed his Eddie Spaghetti.
âAnd you canât move closer and they canât hear you right?â
âYeah! Thatâs how it was.â Emily felt relieved that Ethan understood it. She felt like she sounded crazy saying it.
âWhen you guys found me back at the house. Thatâs when I saw something like that.â Emily grabbed Ethanâs hand to stop it from shaking. He let out a deep breath before continuing. âIt was my uncle. It was a memory of the day he died.â Emilyâs eye went wide at his words.
âDid you see how?â
âYes⊠It wasnât how my father explained it at all.â Emily could see he was falling in that state again. His eyes began to darken at the memory and Emily knew they needed to change the subject.
âWell, Iâm here for you. You can talk to me about them now.â Emily smiled and began tracing circles over his hand to try and calm him down. It was a technique she learned from her doctor after she had an asthma attack when she was twelve. Her father sitting closely next to her as if she would disappear if he didnât hold her. Emily felt pain shot through her heart at the thought of Richie. She had not tried to call him since last night. She wanted to call him right then but the feeling of exhaustion took over her and she knew she would need to sleep first.
âDo you have a boyfriend Emily?â Emily turned bright red at the questions not really expecting it.
âOh no, those are not for more.â He looked confused and Emily felt like she was going to dig a hole she could not get out of. âWell, what I mean is I havenât found a decent guy. Not a lot of people in high school are looking for deep loving relationships.â Emily laughed at herself hoping her rambling wasnât too obvious.
âI understand that.â
âDo you?â What was she asking? Why was she asking? Emily wanted to look anywhere but Ethanâs eyes. Itâs getting late she should go to bed and not see him ever again. Â
âOh no. I have had some in the past but your right people are not looking for a real relationship in high school.â The mood shifted so fast Emily didnât know if she could handle it. Emily looked at the alarm clock to see that it was almost five in the morning.
âHoly shit. Itâs almost five.â Ethan turned to the clock before looking back at the Emily. Emily began to get up and collect the mugs when Ethanâs hand landed on her arm. He looked nervous almost insecure.
âI um, I was wondering if you could sleep with me here. I donât know if I can be alone with this.â Emily nodded and began getting under the covers. She didnât need to be told twice. Ethan smile before joining her. They were awkward at first, not sure how they should sleep next to each other. Their faces were so close together Emily didnât know how she would sleep. However, as there breathing began to sync and the exhaustion began to wash over them, Emily got closer to Ethan and drifted off. As they both began to drift into their dreams another woke to a nightmare.
Lucas woke up at five thirty in the morning every day to run. He liked to run around Derry and get his day started early. He needed to be in shape especially when it wasnât football season. It was also the best time to see Derry in its true form. In the early hours, Derry is a ghost town. Some say it is haunted by them. However, Lucas knew better. Living here all his life he knew that this town was anything but a town. Yes, there was a community, shops, hospital, schools, and jobs but it seemed fake. No adult other than a few could remember any of the tragic deaths in town. Many kids who were not adults even forgot about the death of Georgie. It was as if his memory was erased when he was taken down that drain. Lucas knew only because of his father. Mike wrote a book about the history of Derry and his experience with the creature that made Derry itâs home. Derry wasnât a town. It was a monsterâs nest. Lucas turned a corner on to the street of the old Ironworks. It had been years and the old crumbling building was torn down and built into another. He slowed down to a walk once he was in front of it. The architecture was not too great. They tried for a more modern look that made the building stand out like a sore thumb. Lucas looked at his watch, ready to continue. Yet, as he looked back up the building morphed into the old Kitchener Ironworks. It was barely a building only the skeleton of one but just like every year, IT appeared. From a distance, he could see his father approaching the building. At first, this moment terrified Lucas. He was twelve the first time he saw it, about the same age as his father. Lucas ran home crying and that was the day he learned about IT and what his father had gone through
Lucas watched as the illusion of his father screamed in terror at the giant bird in front of him. IT stretched its wings and began to approach Mike. Mike began to run for his life. Lucas was in a state of shock but not because of the memory in front of him. This memory never happened at this time of the year. It is always during the summer. Lucas didnât wait for the memory to finish. He began to run fast. Ethanâs face when they got back to the house should have been obvious. Ethan saw a vision, a memory. Lucas felt himself becoming more worried as he got closer to town. His younger fatherâs screams made him cover his ears. If they all are seeing what Ethan is seeing they would eventually see the monster who left its den.
âRichie why the fuck did you do that?â Eddie was applying rubbing alcohol to a cotton pad before dabbing it over Richieâs eyebrow. They were in an alleyway seconds after a visit from Tyler Silmore. Tyler was throwing slurs at Eddie and was about to throw some fists when Richie opened his big mouth. So instead of Eddie being the punching bag, it was Richie.
âThey were disrespecting my boyfriend. I had to defend your honor babe.â Eddie shook his head and began to wipe the blood off Richieâs face. Eddie looked down at the ground to see Richieâs glasses broken on the floor. âWell shit, got another reason for my mom to hate me.â Eddie knew Richie wasnât joking.
âHold on.â Eddie reached into his fanny pack and revealed an extra pair of glasses for Richie. He slowly moved them in front of Richieâs face careful to not touch his bruised eye. Eddie smiled as Richie stared at the teen in front of him.
âI love you.â
âWhat?â Eddie pretended he didnât hear because he wanted to hear it again.
âAre you fucking deaf? I love you Eds.â Richie looked embarrassed and wouldnât look Eddie in the eye. Eddie decided that even though there could be thousands of germs on Richieâs face, a kiss wouldnât hurt. He leaned in and placed his lips on Richieâs cheek.
âI love you too Trashmouth.â Eddie continued to patch up Richie. A comfortable silence grew.
âI need to toughen up for when we see that fucking clown again. So this is good practice.â Eddie knew he was trying to be funny but there was nothing funny about it. Eddie frowned at the thought of having to see that thing again.
âDonât say that.â Richie held Eddieâs hand in his and gave it a kiss.
âIâll be right by your side Eds.â Eddie looked like he was on the brink of tears.
âPromise?â
âPromise.â
Emily woke up with tears in her eyes and she played back the memory back in her head. Every memory was slowly becoming sadder. She had no idea where Eddie was or if he was even alive. She moved to her side and almost jumped at the feeling of another body next to her own. She calmed down when she saw Ethanâs sleeping face. Emily had forgotten they slept next to each other last night. Emily slowly sat up to look at the time. It was almost noon. Her stomach woke up as well and Emily decided to surprise Ethan with some sandwiches from the store. She slowly left the room trying not to wake him. She closed the door and let out a sigh.
âSo what were you guys doing last night?â Emily nearly screamed as she turned around to see Stacey with a big grin on her face.
âNothing, we were just talking.â Stacey narrowed her eyes as if Emily was lying.
âBullshit.â
âI swear to God. Do you want to go to the store with me?â
âNah, Iâm going to see what Lucas is up to.â Emily raised her eyebrow questionably.
âIf you are not going to give me details I donât need to give you mine.â Stacey winked before heading back into her room. Emily laughed and headed down the stairs.
Emily opened the door to the shop. A small bell rang letting the cashier know that she had entered. She looked at the man behind the counter who looked at her before looking back at his newspaper. It may be a small town but it didnât have that friendly small town feel. Emily walked through the aisle before finding what she needed. She looked through the sandwich options wondering what Ethan may like. She decided on a ham and swiss and began to reach for it but another hand beat her to it. She looked to her right to see Harry Hanscom. He looked as startled as her.
âIâm sorry did you want this one?â Harry shook his head before baking away.
âOh no, you take it.â He looked nervous as if she was going to yell at him. Instead, Emily handed him the sandwich and picked up another instead.
âDonât worry about it. Turkey is a good choice too. Where are you staying?â Emily smiled trying to seem as friendly as possible. She didnât want to scare him off especially cause she didnât know him well.
âIâm staying at the bed and breakfast across the way. The owners are lovely.â Harry began looking at his camera. Emily looked over, curious on what kind of photos he took.
âMay I see your photos?â Harry finally looked her in the eyes as a blush spread across his face. She had never met someone as shy as Harry. Maybe it was because she grew up with a charismatic father.
âS-sure.â Emily took a step closer and leaned in to see the camera. Harry started at the beginning of his time in Derry. He took photos of the sign and the buildings.
âAre you more of a landscape photographer?â
âYep, my father is an architect so he showed me the beauty of buildings especially the older models.â They continued to look at the many buildings he captured and pictures of the Barrens. All the pictures were shot beautifully, he had a real talent for it. One picture caught her eye. It was a house that wasnât much of a house anymore. Decaying wood surrounded the area where the house once stood. There was a well right where the middle of the house would be located. It was the only thing left standing.
âYou have a talent for it. Would you mind sending them to me? Here is my number.â Emily grabbed her phone to prepare to exchange numbers. Harry hesitated before grabbing his own. âAlso donât be afraid to hang out with us. We would love to get to know you. If you want of course.â
âI donât know if Ethan would be a fan of that.â
âOh donât worry he will! He is just going through a lot at the moment, we all are.â Emily gathers her things and began heading to the register. Harry followed and looked at Emily as if she was an Alien. Maybe he wasnât use to people being so friendly. She paid for her thing and thanked the man.
âIâll definitely do that.â
âGreat! Then Iâll see you soon then?â
âYeah! Iâll see you soon.â Harry smiled before waving at Emily as she headed down the street. She felt happy that she could get Harry to come out of his shell a little bit. She wanted to get to know everyone and see what they were like. Seeing all their parents in her dream made her curious about them. However, with the possibility of new friends came the worry that she would forget about the reason she was here. Eddie. Mike did not give her a real answer if her father was dead or alive. She felt like she was running in circles while others watched laughing. She felt stupid. Emily hated not knowing what everyone else knew. So far all she knew was that he and Richie had a relationship that she never knew about. It worried her cause Richie never told Emily about the things that hurt him most. She also wondered why they mentioned a clown. How could clown make them both shake from fear?
Emily was so lost in thought that she didnât take the right street back. She found herself on 29 Neibolt Street. The houses looked archaic as if they were all that was left during an end of the world movie. Emily looked at each house with interest until she heard footsteps in front of her. She turned to see a small boy wearing a fanny pack. Emilyâs eyes grew wide as she realized it was her father. Just like before she could only get so close before a force stopped her. She tried to get as close as she could to see his features. At the moment she could only see the back of him. He held an inhaler in his right hand. Emily reached into her own pocket and felt her inhaler. She never knew he had asthma.
âExcuse me.â Emily had a feeling he would not be able to hear her. There was no way he could since it was a dream. She watched as he looked at the last house on the block nervously. It was the one that Harry took a photo off. However, it was still standing. It looked like it was going to fall apart and second but it was in a completely different shape compared to the photo she saw. How could that be? A watch alarm went off and the boy stopped. Eddie opened his fanny pack and grabbed some pills from it. However, he didnât stop looking at the house. Even with his alarm going off he got closer to the house. Emily could see a good portion of his face now. He looked curious yet timid. She wanted to tell him to stop, to go home. Suddenly a figure appeared on the porch. It wasnât a clown. It looked like a human, however, his face was decaying on one side and the nose was practically gone. Eddie screamed and backed away from the creature. It rose up slowly as if it was rising from a grave. Emily felt her blood turn cold as she watched him offer Eddie a blowjob for a quarter.
âI donât have a quarter.â Eddie looked disgusted but mostly horrified at the sight in front of him. Emily mirrored that expression as she watched her young father struggle to breathe.
âIâll do it for a dime.â The man looked as if he was slowly decaying with every step he took. He smiled at Eddie in a predatory way.
âIâŠI donât have a dime either.â The man began to quicken his pace which made Eddie reach for his bike in fear. Eddie got on and began peddling as fast as he could.
âIâll blow you for free.â The man began to scream the words over and over as he chased Eddie down the street. The kid was screaming with no one other than Emily to hear. He peddled till he was out of sight. Emily stood there stunned. She was shaking trying her best not to breath harshly. Thatâs when the man turned around and looked straight at Emily.
âHow about you darling? Got a quarter?â Emily dropped the bag of sandwiches and ran in the opposite direction. She held back a scream for she needed the air in her lungs to run far enough without having an asthma attack. Her throat began to tighten but that did not stop her. Emily did not dare look back even though the man was gone, leaving the plastic bag alone in the street. Â
