The great comet is my third favourite musical! I first listened to it after reading War and Peace, because I heard it was a good adaptation (of a 70-page segment, but still) and I recommend anyone to listen to it right now. Spiral symbol you want to listen to Dust and Ashes Spiral symbol

weird coincidence that another good friend of mine wrote me a letter but this time because theyre taking a short story class that required them to write a letter to someone so they can assess their writing voice. im quite flattered im the recipient of their assignment :] but also wow what a letter filled month. i should do my part and start sending the ones i have drafted

re: letters, my best friend, who for now i will call dia, just handed me a late birthday present: lego set(but it's not from lego, just a kit from amazon), the new pjo book, and a letter! It was quite sweet. she writes me letters every year and i cant believe ive reciprocated only ONCE. so of course i immediately drafted her a letter. i've been sat for 3 hours in front of a google doc

i had a good day today. my friends and i go to different schools so we've orchestrated efforts to meet every wednesday at my best friend's school to study together. it was not productive. it's never productive. my other friend kept urging me to play bg3 so they can watch and as much as i wanted to, i am behind on 3 readings and a discussion post due tomorrow. i always end the night with dia though and it's so routine that sometimes i feel like i take it for granted. it will be such a fond memory in 5 years.. agh.. so friend pilled

relistened to Great Comet for the first time in a while. here's some things I noticed that I didn't notice before

-in Natasha and Bolkonskys, Mary specifies that Natasha snaps at her with "such dignity" because Mary just wants a friend that can be chill with her but Natasha already views herself as above her so she acts formally

-Helene sings "one of the finest matches in all of Russia" with the ensemble during The Opera. did she support Andrey and Natasha marrying and go with Anatole's plan for fun?

-in Sonya and Natasha, Natasha says "don't talk nonsense" to dismiss what Sonya says, which is something Anatole does often. she's becoming like him. Natasha noooooo

-i love when Sonya sings "don't be silly" to Natasha in Sunday Morning when it is kind of silly and superstitious to look for your future in a candle and a mirror. this isn't an astute observation, just something i find interesting

that's all i can remember right now. i know there were more so maybe I'll have to go through the soundtrack again
