US First Ladies Inaugural Gowns

Mary Lincoln

it is not confirmed what, exactly, Mary Todd Lincoln wore to the inauguration celebrations, but it’s believed that she wore the same dress in this photo taken after the event. It features the highly fashionable crinoline skirt of the mid-19th century, which is festooned with ruffles and a florets pattern. She accessorized with fresh flowers, worn like a garland sash across her bodice and in her hair. In keeping with the America First economic policy of her husband, Benjamin Harrison, Caroline’s gown was an "All-American" creation, made in New York City by William Ghormley's firm, Ghormley, Robes et Manteaux. I gotta admit, I fully did NOT realize Asha was even a Thiren until I friend pointed out her ears. the ears just blend right into the hair, and honestly her "fur" color is not outside the realm of Hoyo's typical, vampirically-pale skintones. she doesn't even have a tail, like what the hell was I supposed to think 😭

anyways, I actually struggled a bit with her outfit, so a friend helped me brainstorm some initial ideas. Asha just looks so boring compared to the other store owners, and I HATE her color palette, but I couldn't figure out how to maintain the "gamer" aesthetic while spicing it up a bit more. but I think we came up with something nice here~

Put together a collage of my Werewolf MC Hala from @barbwritesstuff Bloodmoon and decided to include some additional info and hedcanons about her.

Name: Hala bint Badr

Pronouns:she/her

Height: 5ft.5”/165.1cms

Appearance: An average height Arab woman with a tan complexion, dark brown curly hair, hazel eyes, aquiline nose and medium build. Hala is often seen wearing layered clothes, homemade jewelry, and a headscarf or hijab, usually in red.

Wolf form: Resembles an Arabian wolf with dark, brown fur, that’s darker on her back and tail tip, and lighter beige on her stomach, ears and muzzle. Hala is smaller than her packmates, with larger ears, and a shorter thinner coat.

Misc. Info & Headcanons

Hala’s name means halo around the moon in Arabic, and her surname means daughter of the full moon.

Her mother’s name was Sama which means sky in Arabic.

Sama’s pack originally came from a desert climate but like most werewolf packs they had to move to safer territories in other countries.

Hala’s mother never saw the ocean in person until her late teens, and she learned to swim from Jay during their brief romance. Sama later taught Hala how to swim as a way to pass on something from Jay to their daughter, other than his eye color.

Hala has a caffeine dependency but prefers tea. After moving to the city Ed introduced her to boba tea and she got hooked.

Hala prefers not to drink alcohol due to disliking the taste. As a result Hala and Farro usually wind up as designated drivers whenever their packs meet up.

Hala is prone to getting cold easily even in her wolf form. So she often dresses in layers and/or will cuddle with pack members for warmth.

Hala and her mom used to spend a lot of time in public libraries when they used to travel. They had free textbooks and resources to help with Hala’s education, and the nicer ones even offered free classes or activities for people.

Hala learned to make jewelry at one of those libraries and even used to sell the things she made with her mom. After joining the pack Ed helps Hala sell her jewelry online, but she still gives out jewelry for friends and loved ones for free as gifts. As a result every member of the pack owns at least one piece of jewelry or customized accessories made by Hala.

Hala also does little arts and crafts projects with the kids when she is on babysitting duty. This instantly made Hala Izzy’s favorite person when Hala made her a tiara from an old wire hanger, some beads, and glitter.

As far as Hala’s own jewelry preferences go she tends to wear clip-on earrings, usually made of copper or nickel.

Hala’s mother used to own some gold bracelets from the old country that were originally going to be passed down to Hala as a bridal gift if she found a mate. After their pack died though Sama wound up pawning the gold bracelets to support herself and Hala.

Back when Hala was still a stray she used to go out in deep water to swim on nights when there is the full moon, that way she was less likely to hurt someone late at night in the middle of the ocean or lake. Worst case scenario she might swim too far from the shore, wind up exhausting herself and drown. Hala figured that was a better risk than giving into the moon and killing someone, the Alpha and Minjo however did not agree. They were both very distressed at how casually Hala explained that she first wound up in their pack’s territory because she got lost looking for a body of water deep enough to potentially drown herself.

Hala still keeps her mother’s seashell necklace and wears it constantly. Jay made the necklace for Sama as a gift after their first date taking her on his bike to the coastline.

Hala learned how to apply jacket patches from Addie and Elma.

Hala’s favorite jacket is a denim and fleece jacket that used to belong to Marco. He gave it to her shortly after she first joined the pack when he noticed she’s more sensitive to the cold, and told her to keep it because she looked cuter wearing it. She started developing a crush on Marco after that and added rose patches to the sleeves so she could always be reminded of Marco when she wears it.

While Hala didn’t become as close with Vicky as she did with Ed. She always respected and admired Vicky. Sure they don’t alway agree on things but Hala understands that sometimes you have to make the hard decisions, especially since Vicky had to become another parent for Ed growing up when she was still a kid herself. After becoming the Alpha Hala knows she can trust Vicky explicitly to keep the pack safe, but she’s also trying to make Vicky understand she can also depend on Hala and the others to help protect and look after her too.

After becoming the Alpha Hala takes different jobs and learns new skills to help the pack and their new home. She starts working at a craft store so the pack gets discounts on everything from school suplies to fabrics. She becomes a certified notary to help the pack when they need to verify important documents and paperwork. She even undergoes training in her wolf form to become a registered therapy dog.

Likewise Hala tries to encourage and support her pack members with whatever they need. Like helping take care of Minjo’s kids if she eventually decides to complete her training to become an official registered nurse.

Chapter 21: Peculiar Siblings

Between you and Katsuki, he had far less back-to-school shopping than you did. Granted you had a new apartment to furnish as well. Realistically you could’ve gone without a new pencil case or bag, but you justified it as a ‘new college look’ to Katsuki. When you told him this, he just shook his head with a charming slanted smile. When it was time to head back home you passed a few more shops that you hoped to see again on the way out of the area. Katsuki’s hand was warm and rough against your palm, fingers entwined loosely as you came up to a shop window to view a coat on display. You admired the wooden buttons that were stacked along the edge of the red peacoat. It reminded you of a coat your mother wore when you were younger, she had since donated the coat but you felt like you were looking up at it now. You had been absentmindedly rubbing a thumb over Katsuki’s hand, he only noticed when you stopped the longer you stared at the coat. Katsuki was quick-witted when it came to making jokes or picking on you, the way you looked up at the mannequin gave him pause.

“You okay?” Katsuki was able to recognize the far-off glassy look in your eyes. He didn’t feel right making a jab at you for looking at clothes when something was lingering on your mind. When Katsuki had picked you up to head to the station he could see the thoughts bouncing in your head. You covered your reeling mind well, he noticed, something he silently hoped he could ease. “You’ve been looking at this coat for a hot sec.”

“My mom,” You finally choked out, the solid mass that was your grief sitting in your chest like a shot put ball. “She used to have a coat just like this one.”

“I think I remember it,” Katsuki vaguely recalled a winter memory.

“Really?” You turned to look at him in surprise. Katsuki’s eyes pinched shut as he scratched his head as he recalled the details from his point of view.

“I remember going to the shrine on New Year's with my family when we were about 5,” Katsuki said. “We had run into your family on the way out, at that point I don’t think we were friends anymore, so you were pretty upset when you saw me. I can’t forget you though,” His body began to feel warm inside his coat, sweat starting to turn his skin clammy. “You were wearing a pink puffy jacket with white fur on the hood, and a pair of green overalls underneath. You had little pink hair ties with plastic butterfly clips on a set of pigtails I used to pull on all the time.”

“Let’s be glad you got past that phase,” You chuckled bashfully, your cheeks and ears highlighting in bright pink. Your conjoined palms began to get uncomfortable to hold with the sweat accumulating in them. You retracted your hand quickly to wipe on your coat before holding your hand back out for him to grab.

“Who said I was?” Katsuki with a sly smile reached out to tug softly on a few strands of hair.

“Hey!” You smiled playfully and smacked his arm with your newly free hand. The two of you shared a laugh before your eyes landed back on the mannequin.

“You weren't lying when you said that you had a crush on me for a long time,” The thought of having to live up to those expectations began to fill your stomach with uneasy doubt. Katsuki had liked you much longer than you had him, so what happens if you don’t fulfill his expectations? Are you going to be a bad girlfriend if you didn’t like him as much and as long as he did? Are you going to be enough?

No, the voice in the back of your mind rang. Your breath caught at the sound of your voice reverberated back to you in a deeper tone. You’re not going to be enough. I don’t know how he’s happy with someone like you after what you’ve done to Haru. Poor boy must’ve been horrified of you.

“Why would I lie to you?” You turned to see Katsuki give you a soft smile, his voice pulling you out of your head. He nodded his head towards the mannequin in the window, “You wanna get it don’t you?”

“I do, but maybe not today,” You looped your arm under his and tugged him along the sidewalk toward the station.

“Okay, well, maybe we’ll come back tomorrow then?” He suggested.

“Maybe, certainly not tonight, it’s already getting late and I need to get to the restaurant for my mom's stuff.”

“Right, I almost forgot. Are you sure you don’t want me to tag along? I know you can take care of yourself, but…” His voice trailed. It wasn’t doubt or distrust in his tone, just concern, which you read loud and clear.

“No, that’s okay, thank you though Katsuki,” You rubbed his shoulder reassuringly. “This is something I want to do on my own.”

You came to a stop just around the corner from the bus stop you needed to take, sliding a hand down the smooth expanse of Katsuki’s arm to hold his hand again.

“Well, get home safe, okay?” Katsuki squeezed your hand as you began to back away, only connected by fingertips. As your hands lost each other's touch your arm swung back to your side. You gave him a sweet smile and a nod before turning to make it to your stop. You only look back to see him still standing on the street corner. You waved back at him, prompting him to wave and turn on his heels to leave.

The ride to the restaurant your mother used to work at was short, only getting off after a few stops. When you arrived, dinner service was beginning to wind down making it a perfect opportunity to follow the hostess to the office. Her things along with yours were packed and folded neatly in a cardboard box. You lifted the lid to see a spare chef’s coat along with a small box you knew to contain extra tools. Apart from other documents or items you were digging to find her knife set. As you picked up your clothes you could feel that they were heftier than they should be. The hostess watched impatiently as you unfurled the carrying case to reveal each of her knives carefully strapped into place. You wrapped them back up and slipped the case back into the box, satisfied that you had everything you needed you were led out back to the front. You held the box close to your person as you made your way to the nearest station, unsure if professional knife thieves existed or not. From what you understood, the knives in your mother's kit were very expensive. Some individual pieces cost more than 30,000 yen, a single knife could be worth more than you spent on school supplies. You relaxed as you entered the subway station, making a beeline for the line schedule. A glance at the nearest clock told you that there would be one final train soon on the line you needed to take. Lucky me, you thought as you approached the yellow line in front of the gate. A sign hung on the post, Under Reconstruction, Please Excuse Our Mess. Each of the gates that typically closed off the rail was wide open and had a sign attached. There must’ve been some accident recently if they haven’t fixed these yet, you thought.

As you stood alone in the station you couldn’t help but recall your insecurities from earlier. Katsuki admitted he had liked you for a long time, yet you had only begun to soften your heart to him recently. Am I leading him on?

“Do you want something from the vending machine?” You overheard a soft feminine voice say not too far away from you. Out of the corner of your eyes, you could see a woman much shorter than you walking away from a white-haired young man. His head hung low, staring at the floor between his shopping bags.

You faced your attention back to the rail, noticing the far-off glow of the train's headlights. What if this doesn’t work out because of me? You adjust the boxes and bags in your hand, hoping to avoid hitting off-boarding passengers. It would make the most sense after all. If I don’t meet his expectations he could just leave me. A thump of a bag hitting the ground broke you out of your stupor. In your hands were all of your shopping bags, so you didn’t know what could’ve made that noise until you decided to locate the source. You looked over to your left at the sound of shoes slapping against the ground to see the white-haired young man sprinting toward the gate, lifting off into the air as he jumped near the edge. Your mind connected the dots at a slower pace than your body did, before you had even realized fully why the young man was dropping his bags and running you had dropped your own. His feet crunched against the gravel as he landed on the tracks, turning his head to see the bright yellowing lights approach him rapidly. You instinctively created a rope out of the water, solidifying it as ice once it wrapped around him, and pulled on his body with as much force as you could without throwing him. He struggled against the hold you had on him, but as he approached the edge of the platform you reached under his pits and yanked him back up in time for the train to come barreling in. The young man flung himself off of you, huffing aggressively as he sat back on his knees. You sat back on your hands with your knees pulled up, taking in the young man a little better as he faced you. An old scar stretched across his forehead to his cheekbone, a single turquoise eye contrasting brightly against the red hair that dangled over half his face. From the angle you saw him earlier you could only see his right side, snowy white hair, and grey eyes. Now as he sat in front of you, there was very obviously a line that separated the two sides of him. His piercing eyes never left you, even as the young woman you saw earlier beside him came back. In her hands were clenched the drinks she promised before, a worried and horrified look plastered her face as she looked between you and her sibling.

“Oh my god, Shoto,” The woman dropped their drinks and fell to her knees with tears in her eyes, her arms stretched around Shoto’s shoulders and held him tight. All the while he never broke his glare at you. Uncomfortable by his glare, you stood, prompting him to move with you. The young woman holding on to him didn’t let go even as you all stood to your full height. “What were you thinking? Are you okay?”

“I’m fine, Fuyumi,” He grumbled, breaking eye contact with you and turning to his sister. As his eyes left you, you felt a sense of relief wash over you. It was strange how the hold of a simple gaze could leave you.

“Obviously not, you tried to-” Fuyumi broke out into tears, fat droplets rolling down her cheeks. She tucked her head into Shoto’s shoulder as she sobbed. The way the young man had glared at you made you feel dissatisfied despite having saved a life. Normally a hero would feel good, at least that’s what you thought. Yet here he was, giving you no thanks or praise for having pulled him away from death. The ice looped around his sides began to shift, you approached cautiously and pointed down at his coat where the ice began to leave droplets.

“I can get that for you, if you’d like,” You held a hand up gently as Fuyumi distanced herself some from Shoto, willing the ice to slip into liquid form. You brought it towards yourself and flung it towards the train tracks. You double-take at the sight of the empty platform. “The train.” You muttered as you turned your head fully, “I missed my train.”

“You would’ve missed it either way, what do you know,” Shoto’s sarcastic tone took you by surprise. He was right but you knew better than to agree in front of the frantic company.

“Shoto!” Fuyumi whined, “Don’t joke like that!”

“Whatever,” He bent over to pick up the cans Fuyumi had dropped.

“Not whatever!” Fuyumi was on the brink of tears again, “What if you had actually died.”

“One can dream,” He muttered. You slowly made your way back to your bags as the two continued their very loud private conversation. Turning to see the station, no one but the three of you were around. The box and bags you carried had tilted over, spilling their contents across the ground. You crouched low and began to repack the bags as the siblings resumed their conversation.

“Shoto!”

“What?!” He matched her tone unexpectedly, her face exhibiting shock at first then frustration.

“You know I have to tell Dad, right?” Fuyumi said in a flat tone now, less sweet and fluffy than she was just a moment before.

“Don’t tell Dad,” Shoto pleaded.

“Either way he’s going to find out when we call for a ride,” Fuyumi said, “That was the last train.”

Shoto smacked his teeth as he shook his head, not wanting to meet Fuyumi’s eyes. As he avoided her gaze he noticed you picking yourself back up with your belongings. Fuyumi followed his line of sight to see your back turned to the two of them.

“Oh, right,” Fuyumi approached slowly, her hand waving in your peripheral catching your attention. You turned to see her hands clasped together tightly as she fell into a deep bow. You stood awkwardly with your belongings in your arms. “Thank you so much for saving my little brother.” Her fingers reached back and snapped to point him down. Shoto rolled his eyes as he followed her instruction, giving you a short but deep bow. “Let us give you a ride home, it’s the least we could do after what you did.”

“Oh, I couldn’t,” You said as the death glare made your spine grow cold. Shoto’s eyes narrowed as he locked back on to you, his glare being the only reason you’d rather walk through the arctic tundra or swallow a hundred hot coals than be anywhere near the young man’s piercing eyes. What is with this guy?

“Please, I insist,” Fuyumi approached you quickly and grabbed onto the box in your hands. Your heart hammered against your chest as you lost grip on the sides.

“No!” You shouted, Fuyumi’s eyebrows shot up in surprise. Suddenly you felt sorry for having reacted so negatively and wanted to ease the hurt behind her eyes. “Sorry, yes to the ride, but no to the box. I’d rather carry this one myself, there’s some important items in here.”

“Oh,” Fuyumi’s voice was soft, despite the harsh behavior you just exhibited. She gave you an awkward smile and reached for the shopping bags in your hand instead, “I can take this for you then.”

“Sorry,” You muttered so low you were unsure if she even heard you. You released your hold on the bags, letting them slip into her hands.

“I’ll call a car to pick us up, then we can take you home.” Fuyumi began to dig in her pocket for her phone when she jumped at a thought running across her mind. “I apologize, I failed to introduce ourselves. My name is Todoroki Fuyumi, and this is my brother Todoroki Shoto.”

“Hamamoto (y/n),” You gave her a Curt bow with your head and a soft smile, “It's nice to meet you.”

Fuyumi smiled and went back to fishing her phone out of her pocket, finding her contact quickly. When asked you gave her your address so that you could be dropped off first. As she began to walk towards the stairs, you fell behind her with Shoto lingering just behind you. You couldn’t feel the icy glare but his mood was almost palpable in the air around him. Something other than his mood bothered you though, the name the siblings shared was familiar but you couldn’t remember why.

The three of you waited just outside the entrance of the subway station, patiently waiting for the cab Fuyumi had requested to arrive. The siblings silently sipped on their beverages, surprisingly enough Shoto had opted for a strawberry milk which you found odd considering the cold and calculating demeanor he let off. Fuyumi hummed excitedly as she finished her can.

“There it is,” Fuyumi pointed at a black sedan with a silver grill approaching.

The windows were tinted so dark you weren’t sure if you could see in or out of it, you could hardly tell if there was even a driver. Fuyumi grabbed Shoto’s can and tossed it in a recycling bin just outside the entrance. He approached the car as it slowed to a stop, signaling the driver to open the trunk. Shoto lifted the back and tossed in the bags he had in his hands, turning his back to you as he walked around to the street side door. You carefully placed the box in the trunk and helped Fuyumi with your bags. She climbed into the front seat after closing the trunk, leaving you to sit in the back with her grumpy sibling. Shoto with legs crossed and elbow propped on the door held his head up to look out the window, avoiding talking or even looking at you. Fuyumi on the other hand had her body half turned in her seat nearly the whole ride.

“So you were shopping nearby?” Fuyumi asked.

“Not too far out, I was picking up that box nearby, I don’t usually take this train,” Unless I’m going home from seeing my mom, you thought.

“It must be something pretty special, you seemed quite protective over it.”

“It has some of my mother's stuff in it,” You felt yourself pulling away from the conversation as the emotional weights began to return.

“Like what?” Fuyumi added. “If you don’t mind me asking, of course.”

“Can it, Fuyumi,” Shoto grumbled.

“What a sourpuss,” Fuyumi turned to face the front again. A few seconds pass by before Fuyumi passes you her phone, the display showing her note’s app. Typed in the first line was your name spelled incorrectly and a simple question What’s your number? You took her phone and corrected your name before typing in her answer, tapping the back of her hand with the device. Fuyumi took back her phone and whispered an apology before typing away on her phone. A moment later you felt the buzzing in your pocket, and pulled your phone out to see that Fuyumi messaged you a simple Hello! You were about to text her back after receiving the message when the driver announced that you were arriving. You climbed out of the vehicle and made your way around the back of the car, Fuyumi joined you and shut the trunk after you retrieved your items. Fuyumi had gotten Shoto to get out of the car, but his back was turned to you as you stood at the gate to your yard. He leaned against the edge of the door, half in and out of the vehicle.

“I have to say thank you again, Miss. Hamamoto,” Fuyumi bowed, a wistful tear in her eye.

“Don’t worry about it,” You shrugged her off.

“I promise, we’ll repay you somehow,” Fuyumi nearly cried again.

“Please, you don’t have to go through all that trouble-”

“I promise!” Fuyumi waved goodbye as she stepped into the car, leaving her with the last word.

The car drove off, leaving you behind to wonder about the Todoroki siblings.

So I'm back to talk about my lovely OCs again with this weeks prompts (I have serious brainrot over them thank you so much @green-eyes-and-orange-ties for starting this)

1.Ino Aristos

Hair: Short light brown bob with curtain bangs, curly, tighter curls near her ears Eyes: One teal, one bright pink, no pupils, people think they're contacts most the time Distinctive Markings: Other than her VT traits, she has a scar on her cheek from cutting it by accident with the edge of a cupboard door (she's short okay leave them alone), and a tattoo of the leo and cancer symbols intertwined on her shoulder Everyday Clothes: white or black tank top, baggy black jeans or black skirt with ripped tights, grey or, if she's feeling daring, pink custom made jumper with space for wings, big black floor length faux fur coat to hide wings, and black and pink platform boots Formal: Never really had a chance to wear formal apart from her wedding day, where she wore a black dress with real lace on the sleeves and neck, complete with poofy sleeves and skirt PJs: Pink tank top with "don't talk to me unless I've had my coffee" written on the front, and pink with rainbow stars short-shorts Something That Isn’t What It Appears To Be: The coat hides her wings pretty well that people don't know unless she takes the coat off

Hair: Sunset colours (pink and blonde), usually clipped back away from her eyes with her flower hairclip but it still somehow falls in her face, short wolf cut with bits that always stick out at the sides (Ino calls it axolotl hair) Eyes: Green with snake-like pupils Distinctive Markings: As well as her previously mentioned VT traits, she also has white egg-shell-like scales on her cheeks (luckily these can be covered with makeup pretty easily), and the same tattoo as Ino (matchy matchy) Everyday Clothes: White or pink graphic t-shirt with a cute design on the front, pink or white plaid skirt, thigh highs or tights, light tan coat or green leather jacket, pink and white platform boots, and her signature hello kitty backpack and my melody strap bag (one can never be over prepared) Formal: Like with Ino, only wore formal for her wedding, where she wore a blush tulle and lace off-the-shoulder dress, which had floral designs on the bodice and sleeves, completed with matching pink floral heels PJs: Black and pink kuromi pajama bra and short-shorts (if it's cold she puts her my melody onesie on) Something That Isn't What It Appears To Be: From how she looks and dresses, you wouldn't expect her to be the one in the couple that carries around self-defense items in case they get attacked for whatever reason, but in that cute sanrio bag, there's an equally cute and pink switch knife and pepper spray

Oh this was so much fun!!! I made them pinterest boards to get ideas for their outfits and such, and I made picrews of them too! The one with the pink background is Ino and the purple is Atlas

Cale Henituse hair headcanons

I think that as a fandom we don’t talk enough about Cale’s hair, which is a shame really, so I personally took it upon myself to write some headcanons:

Cale let his hair get so long because he was just too lazy to cut it. Before, someone would usually suggest him to cut it (usually Ron) but he would just push it for later and never actually get to it. Now they just don’t bother him

Everyone loves his hair. They like to style it, they like to play with it, especially the children. On likes to brain it or experiment with different hairstyles. Most of the hairstyles Cale wears were made by On (she got so good at it, everyone thinks Cale has a personal hair stylist). Hong likes to brush his hair or put little decorations like flowers or hair clips. Sometimes he also styles his hair in the most bizarre ways (cale always knows what he’s doing because Hong giggles every time he does that, but he just lets him do it as long as he’s having fun). Raon is Hong’s accomplice. He’s the one who gives the hairstyle ideas and “distracts” Cale so he doesn’t know what they’re doing. Also as a dragon, Raon has an eye for precious things so he pick up most of Cale’s hair accessories. The black ribbon that Cale wears most of the time was handpicked by Raon and is made by the sturdiest and most expensive silk sold in the whole kingdom

Cale’s hair grows ridiculously fast. Which is weird because he’s physically incapable of growing facial hair and has little to none body hair. When he first transmigrated his hair was just a bit below chin level. Now after just 2 years it’s way past his shoulders (I’m speaking from personal experience here guys. My hair grows fast but not THAT fast). Even tho he doesn’t truly cut it, he does trim it a bit now and than because having it too long would be a hassle.

His hair is really smooth and silky but when he had it short it would get really messy and every day it looked like he had bed hair. Now that it’s longer and it weighs more it doesn’t really get messy and he barely even needs to brush it.

Because his hair is straight that means that his hair gets a lot static especially during winter. One time it was so bad Cale almost grabbed a pair of scissors and chopped off his hair in annoyance (thankfully he was stopped by Choi Han). He compromised by tying half of it behind so it’s not in his face so much and that hairstyle just stuck. Raon also helps moisturize his hair with magic sometimes.

Also because it’s straight, his hair gets really oily. He can’t go 3 days tops without washing his hair or it would look like someone dumped a bucked on his hair. This gets annoying too but there’s nothing Cale can do because it got oily even when his hair was short. Sometimes during emergencies when he doesn’t have time to wash it Raon helps him again by washing it with magic. He also had oily hair when he was Kim Rok Soo

As Kim Rok Soo he didn’t have the luxury of time and money to really care about his hair. He just washed it with a soap, rinsed it and let it hair dry. Now that he has enough money to spend on anything, he has become more invested in his hair care. He does secretly enjoy the process of taking care of it but just brushes it off as enjoying spending money of useless stuff

His hair smells like fruits. That’s because he uses fruity shampoos, most of the time with berries or apples. The kids love falling asleep next to him while smelling the sweet scent of forest fruits. It calms them down and soothes them to sleep right away (Cale is fruity XD)

Cale has a lot of hair but his hair is really thin so it doesn’t look voluminous. And because it so thin usually it falls out easily. Most of his coats and his pillows are covered with cat fur and long red strands. But because he has a lot of hair he doesn’t really worry about any bald spots

Besides the times when On fixes his hair, he usually ties it himself. He doesn’t really care about hairstyles so he just ties it in a half or low ponytail most of the time, with the ribbon Raon gave him. Of course during special events he gets his hair styled by On most of the time and sometimes from the house staff

Since Cale is a ginger he expected his hair to turn white or lose pigment after a certain age which he’s thankful for because his red hair is too recognizable. But because life likes to fuck with him, he didn’t know that Thames’ keep their bright blood red hair for a long long time, sometimes not ever losing it’s pigment. And since he stabbed himself with the World Tree root he’s basically immortal so any hope of his hair whitening is completely lost, much to his annoyance

OG!Cale loved playing with his mom’s hair and so did Drew(Jour) with his. They usually made flower crowns together and put it on each other’s heads. He really liked the color of his hair that was exactly like his mom’s and is one of the few things that he misses now that he’s Kim Rok Soo. But he finds comfort in the fact that his mom’s, now niece’s hair is the same color as his, black.

When Cale faints for long periods of time after using his ancient powers, everyone takes turns taking care of his hair and washing it so it doesn’t bother him when he wakes

When Raon passes his third growth phase and is finally able to polymorph he makes sure he looks extremely similar to Cale and takes extra care of his hair to look exactly like his humans besides the part of it being black and not red.

If Cale is close enough with someone he let’s them do whatever they want with his hair. Choi Han, Lock and the wolf children like to decorate his hair with flowers and flower crowns. Rosalyn likes to spell his hair and dye it different colors judging which one suits him best (so far white is the winner). Mary likes to give him small braids all over his head. Alberu likes to brush Cale’s hair when he’s stressed and he’s within arms reach (its a habit he picked when he was young since brushed his mothers hair all the time). Eruhaben spells his hair to make it healthier and shinier which had become a habit because of his own long hair. Sherrit and Mila enjoy styling his hair in different and childish styles (they both can’t style their kids hair since Raon can’t turn into a human yet and Dodori’s afro is untamable). Basen, Lily and Violan like to brush and fix his hair when they see that it’s not properly fixed. When Cale was young Deruth always ruffled Cale’s head messing up his hair and that habit slips out even now and Cale’s long strands get tangled in between his fingers (Cale doesn’t mind at all when this happens because it reminds him of how Lee Soo Hyuk used to ruffle his hair). Ron and Hans take care of Cale’s wardrobe and they also help wash his hair when he takes baths. Beacrox makes sure Cale’s hair is always clean and always reminds him to wash it when it starts the get oily. Cale even let Bud tie his hair up a few times much to everyone’s shock. The only person Cale never lets near his hair is Rasheel (he’s seen that buzz cut and he doesn’t like it)

One of the reasons why Cale let his hair get so long (besides just being lazy) and let’s people play with it is because, back in Earth 2, Choi Jung Soo would always complain that Kim Rok Soo left his hair too short and he couldn’t play with it. He also told him that he would look handsome if his hair was a bit longer (much to Kim Rok Soo’s disgust), and made him promise that in the future when they retired he would grow his hair and let him play with it all the time. Rok Soo told him to not prank him by giving him weird hairstyles in the middle of the night

One time Cale woke up with his hair in a terrible braid and asked Hong if he had done it to which Hong replied no. Raon told him that he woke up in the middle of the night and this figure that kinda looked like Choi Han was messing with his hair so he asked him what he was doing. The figure replied that he was playing a prank kind of cheekily and than Raon fell asleep again. Cale felt like his breathing stopped and quickly went to find Choi Han. Choi Han was a bit shocked at first but he replied that he didn’t go to his room last night and braid his hair. Cale froze for a moment and than started to softly chuckle much to everyones shock. Choi Han asked him if something had happened. Cale wiped the corners of his eyes that had tears forming in them and simply said that Jung Soo had played a prank in him last night. Neither of them knew that a couple of trees away a Choi Jung Soo was also chuckling while sitting on a branch and staring fondly at the both of them

That’s all I have for now. Some of these were pretty long and the last 2 ones were basically a fanfic oneshot plot. Feel free to add whatever headcanons you have about Cale’s hair

After seeing how you changed their designs for a bit for Jilaire Day 2, like giving Claire longer hair, I was wondering- do you have theories on how their styles might change in the future? Do you think either of them will try to hold on to the past at some point? Would magic be commen by that point or are they still hiding?

(I love reading your stuff btw, and your drawing style is awesome)

"Style" is difficult to say because I barely have a grasp on current fashion trends lol, let alone any inkling of how to begin to guess what folks might be wearing in 100+ years. ^^;

But as for general appearances. I gave Claire much longer hair (it’s probably longer than it’s supposed to be in that drawing; pretty sure if it was straightened out there it would go far past her feet which is definitely longer than it should be oops lol) mostly for the “cool factor”. It just seemed more visually fitting for a powerful 116 year old witch to have longer hair that can flow around all epic-like with powerful spells rather than shorter lol.

I went with a braid rather than her standard ponytail mostly as another small distinction from her younger design (though brought back some clips as a callback to the very first), though at that length keeping it braided also helps stop it from getting all tangled and crazy. It’s also a small nod to Morgana’s style, since Claire is essentially her generation’s parallel to Morgana (like how Jim is Arthur, Douxie is Merlin, and Steve is Lancelot). Just, y’know, without the downward spiral into attempted genocide whoops ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

As for Jim, he doesn’t have much longer hair so much as just more hair haha, with his sideburns encroaching on more of his face. Basically he just gradually accumulates floof as he ages lol. He’ll never have a full-body coat of fur or anything, but he might wind up with a full beard eventually (well, a Trollish beard, so no mustache part), or maybe even a full mane like Arrrggh or Vendel, though I’m not fully decided on that yet. I also gave him longer, sharper horns, as a more ornate rack is associated with age and strength. Eventually he even bites the bullet and gets a nose ring, since those seem to be a popular choice among Trollhunters. It also reminds him of Draal ówò

He never gets any Trollish carvings, since I headcanon that he actually can’t due to his human half, but he might at some point get regular tattoos in similar patterns. Idk yet.

As for magic, yes, I headcanon that after the Titan battle (or at least, my rewritten version of it) the existence of magic, as well as trolls and Akiridions, is now common knowledge among humans. As they get older and their human friends begin to pass away, however, Jim and Claire themselves start spending more and more time in magical and/or Trollish communities that are naturally longer-lived.

Jim himself, if he manages to live out his full natural lifespan without first falling in battle, will live to be roughly 1000 years old--which is about ten times longer than the average human, but only about a fifth the lifespan of the average troll. Claire, as a wizard, has the option of being essentially immortal to age, but she doesn’t like the idea of outliving Jim, so she instead ties her aging rate to his so they will age together equally.

Sooo we’re not going to talk about how long I’ve thought about the girls and what they would look like in overblot. We are just going to except that the details I provided were solely due to this ask and not me just thinking about it in general... please

Sorry if the descriptions aren't perfect. Some things are hard to find names for but I did my best.

Valentina Corey

Her Overblot outfit would be reminiscent of a executioner to contrast with Riddle’s Queen of Hearts. She would have on a executioner’s cowl with the pointy hat end at all, but the window’s peak shaped hood gives the illusion of a distorted heart around her face, doesn't help that the lace mask on covers half her face--again much like executioner’s did so as to not be outcast from their communities for following through with sentences. The cowl hood is less of a cowl though and more of a short sleeved hoodie with the red sleeves tattered up and a black turtle neck is visible from under the hood. She also has a black strapped, underbust corset on with the hemming looking to be reminiscent of a castle wall edging. The snaps on the coreset are the card suits, all done in gold. She wears black leggings and a black petty coat skirt that is tatted and torn like her sleeves with ankle boots. Her hands are gloved with with workman gloves but the kicker of the whole outfit, is in her hand is a broken half of a scissor--like the kind you would cut hair with- is uses as her chopping ax.

Kristina Kaiser

If Leona looks like a humanized Lion from the Savanah during his Overblot, the Kristina looks like she’s stepping off the battlefield of the Scottish Highlands. She has on a black kilt and sash. Silver chainmail covers the top part of her body as well as a dark leather chest plate. She has black lines across her face almost like a bear clawed at her face, to fit in with Celtic war paint. She had a cape over her shoulders made of what looks like could be a black bear hide, clipped to her armor with black, inky metal. Her hair isn’t up in it’s usual ponytail anymore, but is lose around her and pushed back from her face save for a few fairylockes with black hair jewelry (think Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn) Her hands are stained with ink and on her feet are a set of combat boots. Her weapon, a giant black iron battle ax.

Anne Marie Ryland

Today, Anne will be serving us Carrie White vibes with her Overblot. Though like Azul, her design is rather simple (I mean his Overblot is literally just his true form with some inky/iron coral and shells attacked) She’s in a older and traditional style prom dress, all black lace and delicate with a black chiffon shawl over her shoulders, but the image is ruined of a perfect prom queen cause it looks like ink was completely dumped on her, forming a lace trail from her face and then droplets falling from the fair mask pieces like droplets and tears. Her hair is not in the normal braid is gone in favor of it falling straight and lose with a black flower crown on her head. She also has on a pair of kitten heals. No weapon for her though.

Judith Wieck

Ah Jude, serving us our dark Elsa vibes. She’s wearing what looks like a black velvet dress with black iron lacy armor around her core (think the armor detailing we sometimes saw in game of thrones) She has a fur lining around the off-shoulder neckline of what appears to be grey wolf fur. The sleeves of her dress come all the way down to her hands and loops around her middle fingers and shows black painted nails. black shackles hand from her wrists like stylized bracelets. She has on sharp stilleto heals and a thick, choker that could be dark leather or metal that comes down from her neck to cover part of her shoulder and collar bones--almost like it’s a collar to keep her chained. Her hair is braided and twisted into an up do with a icicle like crown on her head of black ink metal. Similarly to her counter part of Jamil, she has a ink lace mask, though her’s has more snowflake motifs, but just like his a single tear drop can be seen on the mask. She has a long silver and black rapier in hand to fight with.

As for the other three girls, that’s going into spoiler territory (Or I just don’t have a pair design to work with yet to know for sure that my designs won’t change) so I’ll keep Kim, Eva, and Fiona to myself for now.

Who is the most important person in your life, and why? Her mother, Chuckie and Lil. She loves and trusts all three of them with her whole heart, and she would do anything they asked her without a second of hesitation.

Who is the person you respect the most, and why? Kira, because even when her mother was a struggling, stressed single mom, she was kind and attentive. She never let Kimi feel unwanted or unloved. She sees how she treats others with kindness, but doesn’t let them walk all over her anymore.

Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? Tommy, Dil, Phil, Lil, Susie, Angelica. Lil is her best friend.

Sitting Front Row at...(On a Budget Obvs): Lookbook no.15

Hey to anyone reading!

And welcome to my fave lookbook I’ve done in a longggg ass time! Yes, that’s partially because it involved making collages and doing the low effort work of scouring Vogue Runway for “research purposes”, but I promise, that statement wasn’t made out of COMPLETE laziness-I am super happy with it too. It’s been a good use of pre-part-lockdown-lift time in the interim between that brief period of Christmas celebrations and eateries finally fucking opening again because let’s be honest, I always knew I was gonna get distracted by oat milk vanilla lattes and veggie all day breakfasts once I could actually sit down with them at my fave local cafe. You could say I was very much operating on a self-imposed deadline.

The “what I would wear to sit front row at...[insert designer here]” TikTok/Instagram reel trend was something I wanted to get on board with ever since I first saw one and whilst the option of doing my own live action take-I really cannot bear the thought of having to edit footage of myself awkwardly attempting to sit nonchalantly in front of a camera for hours on end-was off the cards considering my complete lack of screen presence, I decided a Tumblr text post would work just as well, and if not even better in a way. Given the absence of the time limitations you face when you’re making a reel or a TikTok I thought it’d be cool to present the looks as part of a mini moodboard for each designer which adds a bit of context to each look even if you aren’t familiar with their past collections and establishes the general vibe of the brand I’m attempting to replicate. Not to sound snotty or as if I am the font of all knowledge on anything high fashion related but even with my amateur knowledge I noticed that as the video trend took off and was adopted by big name influencers, it became less about the average person putting their own personal spin on the aesthetic of the labels we can’t ordinarily afford and more about them building outfits that only vaguely resemble the general public perception of the brand around the real corresponding (and often gifted and thus inaccessible to someone who doesn’t makes thousands for a sponsored post) pieces they own SO I thought I’d take the trend back to its roots and get a bit resourceful. All that being said, in no particular order, here are the outfits I would wear to sit front row at Gucci, Vera Wang, Miu-Miu, Marc Jacobs, Dolce & Gabbana, Brock Collection, Alexander McQueen, Etro, Burberry aaaand Saint Laurent based on their past collections and guess what? They didn’t cost a shit tonne of money :-)

-disclaimer: will include an asterisk before any new purchases if from a high street store though to be honest, I don’t think there are any, we shall see! I do include where I got old purchases from in case anyone wants to search anything on Depop/Ebay-

1. Saint Laurent (formerly Yves Saint Laurent)

I know technically abbreviating Saint Laurent to YSL doesn’t really make much sense anymore given the brand’s name change in 2012, but I’ll always think of it as that in the same way I’ll always associate it with the slightly dishevelled yet simultaneously glitzy rock n’ roll aesthetic. The thing is, whilst YSL hasn’t done anything wildly out of the box for a long time, it’s rare they put a look on the runway that I wouldn’t wear; they never end up being a fashion week standout but the Parisienne take on grunge we’ve seen Anthony Vaccarello establish as his go-to will always have a place in my heart.

2. Alexander McQueen

-embroidered leather jacket from Ebay (originally Topshop), harness from Amazon, dress from ASOS, boots from Koi Vegan Footwear-

Alexander McQueen is a brand that is pretty much universally liked, from the historically extravagant and groundbreaking shows the man himself put together to Sarah Burton’s more toned down but still beautiful collections. Obviously I didn’t attempt to do justice to the former, so I tried my hand at putting together a look inspired by Sarah’s blend of delicate femininity and nomadic edge, and it went...okay? Like it’s definitely not my favourite of all the looks because it does give off slightly cheap copycat vibes buuut outside of the context of this lookbook it’s cute.

3. Brock Collection

-boater hat from Ebay, midi skirt from morganogle on Depop, corset top from ownmode_, heels from amybeckett1, bag from Primark-

Brock isn’t as well known a brand as most of the others in this list but I adore everything Laura Vassar Brock does and I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to try and channel the vision of one of the OG pioneers of the cottagecore vibe through my own wardrobe. I mean fr, this woman’s work as a steady provider of meadow photoshoot worthy dresses and corsets and skirts is v slept on and I will not stand for it. I will sit in front of a camera and then write a paragraph in my blog post begging anybody who reads to give LVB (an abbreviation I acknowledge is unlikely to catch on because Lisa Vanderpump anybody?) some form of acknowledgement for her services to period romance novel inspired moodboards everywhere.

4. Marc Jacobs

-coat from House of Sunny, white shirt from Retro World Camden, co-ord from Sugar Thrillz, bag from Poppy Lissiman-

If there’s one thing Marc Jacobs always does, it’s COMMITS. TO. HIS. THEME. I just KNOW he has a secret Pinterest with separate boards for every fashion era of the 20th century and he is putting those boards to good use providing us with collections that are as immersive as they are eclectic year in year out.

5. Miu Miu

-beret from H&M, hair clips from H&M, jewellery from Primark, coat from mollyyemmaa on Depop, shirt from YesStyle, sweater vest from YesStyle, skirt from Depop, diamanté belt from Brandy Melville, shoes from Koi Vegan Footwear-

We all like to talk about Bratz dolls and Monster High dolls and Barbies as fashion inspo but can we all focus on Cabbage Patch dolls for two secs so as to acknowledge the fact that a Miu Miu collection is basically all their fits grown up? And made boujie as fuck? If I want my fix of Wes Anderson meets Scream Queens (what a combo) inspired outfits, if I want prissy and girlish but also glam, if I want to look like a bratty rich girl whose one redeeming quality is her eye for vintage clothes, I know where to look and that is the Miu Miu section of Vogue Runway.

6. Vera Wang

-blazer as in no.1, velvet bralet from catdegaris on Depop, harness from Amazon, skirt from Ebay, knee high socks from Ebay, lace up boots from Ebay-

Vera Wang’s RTW aesthetic, a blend of the ethereal, ultra-feminine bridal designs she’s known for and British style punk rock influences, is something I feel has only become firmly established in recent years but it is everything I ever wanted and more. I always find myself trying to balance the part of me that loves everything girly and delicate and pretty and the part of me that would love to be in a biker gang and Vera’s collections are always an inspirational reminder of just how well it can be done.

7. Burberry

Now I’m not gonna lie, I’m not the biggest fan of Burberry but there have been a few looks over the past few years I’ve really liked and as someone who owns numerous trench coats, high necks and way too much plaid, I thought it’d be an easy one to replicate. Plus, if you can count on Riccardo Tisci for nothing else you at least can rely on him giving you some layering inspo which is very much needed in a country where it literally just snowed in April and where my plans for today have just been cancelled because the iPhone weather app did a Karen Smith and didn’t predict rain for today right up until it started raining so thanks for that one British meteorologists. Your incompetence strikes again.

8. Etro

Like with Brock Collection, Etro isn’t a hugely well known brand, but it is always one of my favourites-to add a spanner into the works of any attempts to cultivate a firm sense of personal style, I live for the ornate Bohemian look that Etro does so well just as much as I love both grungy and girly pieces, and so I really wanted to include a brand whose collections go down that route. It was a toss-up between this and Zimmerman, the flirtier, free spirit counterpart to the dark romance of Veronica Etro’s designs; her vision really shines through the most when it comes to the brand’s winter collections, imo, and given that I live in a country where winter or some weather state resembling it does seem to take up 70% of the year, I did decide on channelling her work rather than that of the equally talented Nicky and Simone Zimmermann this time round.

9. Dolce & Gabbana

D&G is a brand I felt really conflicted about doing-I don’t include their current collections in my fashion week reviews based on the actions of designers Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce over the last few years because I don’t want to mitigate the collective effort of fashion critics to push them towards irrelevancy. Though people like to claim the brand has turned a corner since Lucio Di Rosa was brought on board as the manager of celebrity and VIP relations last year (they are as prolific a force on red carpet fashion as ever), we haven’t seen any real meaningful apologies or reparations made by Dolce and Gabbana themselves which once again leaves us in the all too familiar quandary of whether or not we can separate the art from the artist especially when it is far too much of a simplification to only credit the two men for their work given there’s a whole design team behind them. There are a LOT of shitty people working in fashion, the whole industry is a bit of a cesspit if we’re honest, but I don’t think that should stop us from at least being able to appreciate old collections if we make sure we aren’t engaging in any kind of promotion of current works whilst doing so. D&G are a brand of high highs and low lows, with looks that range from hideously ugly to showstoppingly beautiful in a single show-when the looks are good, they are GOOD-and their presence in the fashion world is most definitely felt whether we want it to be or not. It would just be shit to refuse to recognise the existence of some real iconic runway moments, the practical work that went into the ornate detail and opulence that helped cement D&Gs place in sartorial history, the styling that’s made goddesses and fairytale queens out of modern day women as they’ve glided down catwalks, the far more extravagant and, let’s be real, sexier version of our world D&G shows have transported us to in the past. Will I talk about D&G ever again? No, and if you Google the scandals their brand has faced over the past few years, there are more than enough reasons why, but just this once I did want to pay homage to some of the collections, the snippets of which I saw on my Tumblr dashboard back when I was about 13, that first got me into fashion.

10. Gucci

Now last but, if you ever read any of my fashion week reviews (the likelihood of someone actually having read one of them and reading this is incredibly, incredibly slim lol, I wouldn’t read me either) you’ll know, definitely not least, is Gucci because Alessandro Michele comes through every!! single!! time!!

The man is truly the king of quirky throwback maximalism and it hurts my heart that a lot of people seem to think of it only as a brand associated with ostentatious displays of wealth. Year after year since Michele was made creative director he has released purposeful, fully-fleshed out collections which unravel themselves to us on the runway like time capsules containing the belongings of the rich and whimsical and yes that can sometimes result in outfits which are *ahem* a bit mismatched but it doesn’t matter because through fashion he manages to take us to a vivid version of the past where people could dress as freely and lavishly as they wanted to, into the wardrobe of a person unaffected by the side-eyeing of others. You get the impression he doesn’t design so much as plays around with some kind of enchanted dress up box and takes inspiration from there and to give that impression is only a credit to his talent-to make outfits so kooky and extravagant look like they were meant to be takes a boldness and genuine love for clothes that I do tend to feel a lot of the big name designers have lost in the pursuit of profit and the necessary placating of the dying customer base that keeps that coming in. Of course I'm not for a second saying Gucci does not care about profit, but at the very least, they have on board a creative director who genuinely has fun with what they’re putting out there and wants to make a statement too and that really shows; you can rest on your laurels and sell tweed boucle jackets to rich old white women for eternity but nobody’s going to mention your brand name and the word groundbreaking in the same sentence ever again unless they’re talking about what it was a century ago, you know (mentioning no names...unless...did I hear someone say Chanel)? That feels like such a shady way to end, lol, but I’m sure said brand will survive-to be fair, they’ve been included in every other What I’d Wear to Sit Front Row At video I’ve seen so although I’m always slagging them off for doing the saaaaame thinggggg year after year, for that same reason their aesthetic is instantly recognisable and so will always be a source of imitation. There are obviously pros and cons to being a brand which constantly reinvents itself but I think it’s totally possible to do that whilst maintaining an overall mission, and Alessandro Michele’s work at Gucci demonstrates that with ease.
