thank you mo!! going with 7, as it suits a headcanon I've been meaning to write out for a while re: Rook's inability to swim.

Arlow has hydrophobia and water-related trauma, and though she can swim (physically at least) by the time of Veilguard canon, she could not when she originally joined the Crows.

Mind the CWs - in the early days, especially before he is Fifth Talon, Viago is far more focused on ensuring Arlow's survival and usefulness as a pawn than he is on kindness.

7. Rook being taught an important skill

She cannot swim. Viago learns this, not because she tells him—for which she will face his wrath later—but because one of the other fledglings teases her for it. She decks him, which is fair, and the trainer brings them both before Viago for admonishment.

He taps gloved fingers on the edge of his desk. Sends the boy off with Heir to learn the value of trust within his House. But Arlow—Arlow he keeps for himself. As always.

“Is it true?”

She’s standing loosely at attention, hands clasped at the small of her back, chin jutted out a bit too defiantly to convey respect. Her gaze is fixed somewhere over his shoulder. She nods, just once.

Of course it is. His question was only a formality—she would not have assaulted the boy over a falsehood, he knows. He made her more resilient than that. Still, his jaw tightens; his lips purse into a thin line.

She is not meant to keep secrets from him. Even by omission. Anything could be a weakness; anything could leave them vulnerable, and she is meant to be the one piece on the board that he can move without thinking—without doubting. He lets his anger bleed into his eyes, into the flare of his nostrils, and he sees her teeth dig into the flesh of her cheek. So, she knows that she is in the wrong.

Of course she does, because she is not stupid. An idiot, and a fool, sometimes, but not stupid, never stupid. They take contracts on, in, and around the water with great frequency. Under the water, even, on the rare occasion. With this, she puts herself at a disadvantage, she puts herself at risk—and by extension, puts him, puts their House at risk.

Unacceptable.

In theory, she could weave spells to breathe and propel herself through the water. But such a thing leaves her vulnerable, in turn, to dispels and Purges and magebane, to simple exhaustion at the end of a fight. More importantly, no mage casts well under the pall of fear—and he suspects that this is not a simple lack of skill, because she knows that he will teach her. Harshly, and with a demand that offers no yield, but he has always taught her, as needed, no matter where her abilities faltered.

No, she kept this hidden, for a reason, on purpose. Concealed carefully for years, which is vexing on its own. She should not be able to hide such a weakness, not from him, not for so long. Concern gnaws behind his careful mask. How deeply embedded must the claws of terror be—in her gut, her throat, her chest—that even knowing the consequences, knowing that eventually her secret must recoil with a snap, she had not been able to unclench the protection her mind had warped around it.

Frustration simmers in his mind as he turns over his options. She would need to learn—to swim, yes, but also that she cannot keep secrets from him. Not of this magnitude; ideally not of any magnitude, but absolutely not one that leaves them so blatantly vulnerable.

Learn is not quite right, though. That lesson has already been taught. She must be reminded. This insubordinate impulse burned away and the instincts of fear replaced by the muscle memory of rote training. He stands, suppressing a sigh.

It will not be pleasant. But it must be done.

“Come.”

She falls into step at his shoulder, not looking half as contrite as he would have liked, though her lower lip pulls into her mouth when he scowls.

He watches her from the corner of his eye. As they walk, she keeps the normal surveillance, checking idly for tails or threats or movements of interest while he winds their way down the roof paths and through the market. In this way, he sees the exact moment when she realizes their destination; her teeth release her lip and her eyes widen, ears flattening against the side of her head. Her fingers tighten around the spellblade at her hip, but she does not stumble, stays in perfect step in his shadow.

Her tongue darts out over her lips. “Viago—“

“No.” The word is steel and sharp and in one syllable it is the verbal whipping she was clearly expecting before. She flinches, and lapses back into silence.

In the shadows farthest from the bustle of the city, there is a dock without any vessels and this is where Viago leads her. Still watching from the corner of his eye, so he sees when she loses control and begins to shake. Little shivers that pass over her from tip to toe, like a breeze rippling through an endless wheat field, as much at the mercy of her fear as the chaff and straw in the wind.

The lapping of the water against wood is not bothering him today, but her ears twitch with each wave that comes to shore. Ignoring that, he stands aside and jerks his head, indicating her to walk ahead of him.

She hesitates, and he glares. Hesitation gets an assassin killed. She knows this, and he knows that she knows how to quash the instinct. That she is receding like this, falling backwards into bad habits, is almost as maddening as the secret that she kept.

The secret that he failed to notice.

He does not move his head again—Viago does not ask for things twice, and Arlow does not need to be told more than once. Not by him. This time she pushes past the hesitation; a thread of relief slips through his anger and frustration.

Her shakes come more violently as his presence at her back forces her forward at a steady pace. Released from her blade, her hands fist at her side and she stares resolutely at the sky, as if keeping the murky, dark waters of the Rialto Bay out of her gaze will remove them from proximity as well. Finally, when the toes of her boots align with the last plank of the dock, she stops.

“Give me your weapons,” Viago orders. Mutely, she unhooks her blade and her focus and passes them to him. “Your leathers, as well.”

Her fingers slip on the fastenings of her cape—not yet the finery of a full-fledged Crow, but a mark of…something, something like security and belonging, nonetheless—and it takes her several tries to strip it and her armor from her skin. Left only in a thin tunic and leggings, barefoot and shaking from the cold now, as well, her toes curl over the wood and she looks back up at the sky.

He does not give her any warning before he pushes her into the water.

Because she is expecting one—he can tell. She thinks he will ask her to jump, force her to take the fear into herself and swallow it, disperse it, tie it away in her gut where it cannot see the light of day. That is what they would have done, had she revealed this to him in the normal course of things, and they had come to this point under different circumstances.

That would have been a lesson. This is the reminder.

There are guildmasters who would find their pleasure here, take this as a hobby rather than a necessity. But Viago’s stomach sinks as Arlow does beneath the water. This is not a pleasure. And it is only a necessity because she made it so.

He glowers at the bubbles that mark her depleting breath, counting a measure of sixty before he lowers his walking stick into the water, handle-end first so that she can see where moonlight catches on the metal snakes, and latch on.

Back on the dock, she sobs and splutters, spitting the bay water out of her lungs and struggling to replace it with air even as fear seizes them. Better here than on a job, he tells himself, schooling the sour taste on his tongue into careful neutrality. Better here than at the mercy of a rival House. Better here than anywhere without him, anywhere that he could not supervise and smooth out this chink in her defenses that she has allowed to fester.

He presses his walking stick into her shoulder and she gasps, winces, turns her eyes—wide and glassy with fear—up to him.

“Viago, please, let me—“

“Do not beg,” he says. Not coldly, not quite, but not kindly, either. Stern, unyielding; like the hands that break a poorly healed bone before it can be properly set. “Know yourself. Control yourself, and you will control this.”

He shoves and she rolls over herself, back into the water once more.

zayne always has his guard down around you. he finds himself vulnerable when he’s with you, it’s like all walls and barriers disappear and he can just be himself and enjoy your company without having to worry about anything.

zayne reluctantly goes to cat cafes with you whenever you pass by one. he’s not very good with cats and they often run away from him, but it’s the opposite with you. they seem to love you, and they don’t mind him when your around so he supposes it's not that bad. 

zayne helps blowdry your hair after you shower, making you stand still in front of the bathroom mirror while still in your bathrobe. he enjoys doing these little things for you, it’s the least he can do since you’re so good to him.

zayne is always keeping an eye on you. mostly for health related reasons since sometimes you forget to take your medicine or don’t keep up with your weekly checkups. and when that happens, he’s often scolding you and making sure you take your medication on time and setting alarms on your phone so you don’t miss your appointments. 

zayne also knows when you’re on your period. once learning about your menstrual cramps and whatnot due to research and prior knowledge of it, as well as your mood swings, he’ll already have stuff prepared for you. pads, chocolate, red date tea, a heating pad: you name it. he’ll also massage your stomach whenever certain remedies don’t work or when he just wants to, just being next to you to comfort you and help you feel better is enough for him. 

zayne loves taking late night strolls with you. when it’s cold outside and you’ve forgotten your gloves at home, he’ll slip your hand into his pocket while holding your hand in his own. enjoying the scenery of the city, the bright lights, the way they reflect off your eyes, that happy expression on your face when you see a food stand with a delicious menu. it reminds him of how lucky of a man he is to have you, a man with a heart that constantly suffers from a great frost that you manage to melt with your warm touch. you're his dream come true.

Er uh anyway. The first thing that comes to mind is Barbatos because of course. I mean our guy barely shows any skin. Unless he takes off his gloves or rolls up his sleeves, he’s pretty much completely covered. Which means he could have any amount of tattoos. I think it would be really cool if he had hand & arm tats. I don’t really see him getting too crazy with it though so I think he’d just have black ink and it’d all be meaningful symbols of some kind. Maybe even magic like protection sigils for when he travels through time. He’s had them for ages, from way before he ever met Diavolo. They’re kind of a relic of his past now, but they remind him of when he was reckless.

I think Mammon would get something dedicated to MC. Like their name over his heart or something. I could also see him getting something gambling related, like playing cards or lucky numbers.

Beel kinda has one in his human outfit. I don’t know if that’s just supposed to be part of his disguise or if it’s real. But I think it represents the kind of tats I think Beel would get. Those sorta tribal style abstract situations.

Belphie would get some kinda constellation tattoo. Something small and in an unexpected place like his hip maybe.

Asmo of course the first thing that comes to mind is a tramp stamp. Sorry Asmo lol. But I actually think he would like something really beautiful and elaborate. Like a whole arm sleeve of cherry blossoms or something. But I also think he’d want to change it up a lot so I don’t think he’d actually get something permanent. I think I had an anon mention this before that he wouldn’t want to mess up his perfect skin lol.

I don’t really see Lucifer as the tattoo type. But if he was gonna get something, I think it would have to have a lot of meaning. And he’d want it somewhere easy to hide. But man I just can’t really imagine it with him for some reason?

Levi is too chicken but if he was gonna get something he’d either get some kinda fan situation, like his favorite character or a symbol from his favorite video game, or something like Lotan or a kraken or some such. Though it would be cool if he got one when he was more active as an admiral. Then it’d probably be something real traditional like an anchor lol.

Satan would get poetry. Or like his favorite line from his favorite novel. Words. I could see them like on the inside of his arm or maybe on his ribcage.

For some reason I love the idea of Diavolo with a huge back tattoo. Maybe of a dragon. Or at least something red lol.

Simeon would have something small and simple. Like a feather on the inside of his finger or something like that.

Raphael I could see getting a spear on his arm. He has an obsession lol.

Mephisto seems like he wouldn’t get one, but I do think it’d be cool if he had one that was in a hidden spot. Like it’s something few people know he has. I don’t know what it would be… I don’t think he’d get a horse tattooed on him lol. More likely some kind of meaningful symbol, perhaps for protection. Or like if his noble family has a coat of arms, he’d get that just below the nape of his neck.

Thirteen has a tattoo but if she was gonna have others… I really love the idea that she has something on her hip that’s really soft like a flower or a butterfly and it matches her hair. Or maybe on her ankle.

When Luke grows up, he gets Simeon’s tattoo.

a series of bug-related headcanons about Maxime Le Mal 👀🪳💚

🪳 Maxime's roach transformation is a genetic one, and one he can control to an extent. he is capable of transforming into his cockroach body and 'pushing out' his insect appendages at will, and can be at various half-stages of transformation (for instance, only manifesting the roach legs) 🔥

🪳 however, the longer Maxime goes without being in his full roach form, the more uncomfortable it is for him. this is why he tends to wear the big puffy coat and remain in his roach body: it's a lot like tensing all of your muscles all of the time to remain as his fully human self! 💪

🪳 the only things which Maxime can't fully hide are his antennae, which always pop back up when he's angry or frazzled. he uses a good amount of product to slick his hair back into that distinctive cockroach body shape, and the scalp around the base of the antennae is more sensitive than the rest 👀

🪳 Maxime wears the big, puffy coat not just to hide his cockroach body, but because the transformation has made him cold-blooded. as much as he hates to admit it, Maxime craves warmth. you can bet that Maxime has dozens of luxurious blankets and throws on his bed, and he is always curling around Valentina in an attempt to warm up 🥰

🪳 ironically, he also wears the green-tinted glasses because the transformation has given him an insect's sensitivity to light. he vastly prefers the dark, and becomes irritable when out in sunlight - hence why he's extra-grumpy in the bright environment outside of the gas station! ☀️

🪳 the reason why Maxime wears gloves is because his cockroach instincts compel him to compulsively clean his hands, and his fingers have taken on the appearance of smaller, cockroach-like appendages. cockroaches pull their legs and antennae through their mouths in order to get clean, but as this is impractical for Maxime, who still has a human mouth, he cuts out the middle man by keeping his hands as clean as possible through the use of fine gloves (of which he has many pairs!) 🧤

🪳 much like a real cockroach, Maxime has a tendency towards nocturnal behaviour. as soon as the sun sets he becomes far more energetic, talking off poor Valentina's ear about his latest evil scheme when she's trying to settle down for her beauty rest 😂

Some hogcanons. notes (me rambling) under the cut

So silver was the reason i wanted to make this in the first place despite him looking the most on model (not entirely obviously, but i don't have many hcs for him). Mostly i wanted to draw his height compared to the other hedgehogs since him being freakishly tall despite being younger than sonic and shadow is funny. I saw someone say hes probably the most conventionally attractive hedgehog and i think that's true, hes a pretty boy and his fur/quills are really sleek and well maintained. The fluff on his chest is less spikey and more fluffy looking plus i put some fluff in his ears as well. I think his paws and nails are black and he doesn't wear eyeliner his lashes are just really long and hes got black markings on his eyes. Coming back to this after writing Amy's desc but i think hes genderqueer in some way idk maybe bigender i need to study him under a microscope some more every character i touch becomes transgender

Sonic has a few more added details, i like giving him a little nick in his ear and top surgery scars because that hog is trans. I haven't really seen many people give him stylized top surgery scars surprisingly, i tried to make his look kind of lightning bolty because uh something about him being fast. idk man. i think i imagined its similar to what itd look like for him to run in a zigzag? whatever i think it looks cool. I think his claws are kind of uneven and he doesn't really care too much about how they look especially since he just has them under gloves most of the time

Amy is fat because i said so, also i gave her wavier quills and heart markings everywhere. Her ears might look a little strange since it like implies her skin is making that heart shape but i imagine thats her fur spiking into the point. Her nails are painted the same red that shadows markings and stuff are mostly because i think them being besties is cute like. i see shadamy as a queer platonic relationship. Theyve always been my favorites im going to to make them as close as i want. Anyway, i think she and sonic are tied for having the shortest ears, and hers are the rounest (might make them even rounder the next time i draw her) also not entirely related to her design but i think shes transfem and genderfluid.

Shadow my son. im taking custody from black doom and gerald. anyway, i have the most headcanons for him because he is my absolute favorite guy ever he rots my brain. I think he and Amy are the same height, his rocket shoes are like platform/heels and so when he has them on he looks like Sonic's height or maybe a teeny tiny bit taller. I give his quills extra little spikes for no reason other than i think its cute, i could bullshit that its a black arms thing but idrc. What are black arms things though are his eyes and claws, his scelera is a more yellow compared to everyone elses (jaundiced as my friend put it. thanks endy) and i didn't draw it but his pupils are slits. Claws are long but are even longer when all the way out (retractable) his gloves are thick enough that he doesn't pierce them but he probably has a few spare pairs. Also not pictured but black arms related: his teeth are fucking razors, larger than the other hedgehogs and also serrated because i think thats cool. his tail is the longest out of all of them though i think it used to be longer but was lopped off in the name of science and never properly grew back. also his inhibitor rings are connected to a sort of device that does the task of being a proper gateway between his internal energy and the rings themselves, i didn't draw them but essentially its like a smaller ring that is embedded into his wrists i think. also hes trans but in a sort of alien way, i think the black arms can do the clownfish genderswap thing and shadow has it to a somewhat lesser degree its like an internal tshot i guess idfk

Hand headcanons

Yeah you heard right, basically the headcanons I have for how kiddos' hands look. Posted them a while back on Twitter, I suppose it would hurt posting it here too. Added a lil more info than original Twitter thread + other characters I didn't include.

Daniel: I like imagining him having long, slender but calloused fingers, his hands big and veiny as an adult. The tips and knuckles are a little rosy and he has some small healed scars from small cuts he made while cutting ingredients for potions and small burns from popping bubbles.

I also headcanon that Daniel has a bit of a habit of biting his nails and the skin around them when nervous, so his fingers look accordingly. Sometimes forgets to heal them, not until they get inflected (I do think he eventually unlearns that behavior as an adult though). Because of that, his nails never grow out long, but he prefers it that way for convenience reasons. Doesn't paint his nails himself, but never declines when one of his friends suggest to paint them (usually Lottie, Cassandra or Ivy).

Ivy: has soft (if not the softest) big warm hands, but shorter fingers. Her knuckles and tips of her fingers are rosy, she keeps her nails short but likes painting them in pastel colors, although the polish wears off pretty fast, it's rare to spot her with perfectly painted nails. Not because she doesn't care, but because she often forgets to apply the nail polish again and only remembers at most inconvenient moments.

Winifred's hands are similar to Ivy's, but her knuckles and fingertips are a little less rosy and she keeps her nails a little longer. Although unlike Ivy, her hands are often cold. Usually wears a light blue nail polish, I like to think that Cassandra likes to do her nails. :3

Cassandra: keeps her nails short for convenience, to be able to wear gloves, peeling her nails into an oval shape. Bc of that, she usually uses transparent (?) nail polish (although there are days when she paints them black or emerald green), but still takes really good care of her nails, as expected. Her hands aren't particularly big, but her fingers are slim and long. Her hands surprisingly warm and soft under her gloves, but she does have little almost unnoticeable scars from the cuts she got when tending to her plants.

Lottie: probably keeps her nails the longest out of all girls, but they're still not really long. Always paints them in different colors each time, usually every few weeks, sometimes with patterns. Often has rests of paint under her nails, but she does clean under her nails before lunch. Her hands are pretty small and a little calloused, she also has an "artist bump" on one of her fingers.

Robyn: her hands are pretty big and calloused, mostly on the palms (bc of her constantly holding the broom or a bat). Her fingers are neither long or short, somewhere in the middle I'd say and her knuckles are the sharpest there are around. Keeps her nails short for convenience, doesn't use nail polish mostly bc she's not particularly interested in wearing one. Has a bunch of scars from cuts and bruises related to quidditch accidents.

After being hit by a lightning in one of Y2 side quests, her whole body got covered in Lichtenberg scars, including the back of her hands.

Kevin: has probably the biggest among all kiddos, his fingers long. Has a tendency to bite his nails when nervous, although he doesn't go out of his way to obliterate his fingers into the bloody mess the way Daniel does. Tries to unlearn this habit and regularly cuts his nails short. I feel like he's the kind of guy who's skin often gets dry, so he often uses one of those hand creams (potions? There's gotta be something like that in the wizarding world). Has small, almost unnoticeable healed cuts on his fingers (from papercuts).

Abigail: her hands are pretty small but she has long fingers. Her hands, especially her knuckles, are full of scars and bruises. Keeps her fingernails short, but they're hard to cut bc her nails are thicker due to her lycanthropy, not to mention that they grow out a lot faster, so they're cut/peeled pretty irregularly. Still, does her best to keep them good looking.

The Freys: both brothers have big but slim hands with long fingers. They both have a few scratches anc bruises on their knuckles, left by whatever antics they did, but Colby a little less. Their nails are trimmed irregularly and they're really dirty. Like, black line underneath dirty. There's always dirt underneath their fingernails which they don't bother cleaning, much to dismay of Cassandra who has a misfortune of having to see their hands on daily basis.

Wenshi: big hands with long, slender fingers and sharp knuckles. Takes good care of his nails, keeps them the longest out of all the boys, but still regularly cuts them. Similarly to Lottie has a calloused bump on one of his fingers, a "writer's dump".

I’m gonna cry… I had an entire analysis for this typed out but my wifi is shit so it refused to post😭😭 anyways, this is based off of the @ladybugout-au permanent superhero team. I decided against doing Luka’s Cadmeancio suit because I 1. Didn’t want to draw him in orange and 2. I was already pushing it with making a purple/red Neurofoxin. Only reason I made her purple is because natural coloring obviously doesn’t mean shit to the character designers if Juleka gets to be a purple red tiger. Anyways, here’s my take on their suits!

Hecattack: I wanted to diverge from the furry/bdsm influences Chat’s suit got, so I gave him looser fit pants, a hood and combat boots. His suit was lowkey inspired by Red Hood’s design because, dammit, DC may be super dark, but they know how to design characters well (something MLB could stand to learn from ಠ_ಠ) anyways, along with the hood and paneled top+cargo pants+combat boots, I gave him cat-shaped knee pads, similar to Ivan’s turtle shell knee pads. You will also notice a trend with a lot of my hero suit designs, which is fingerless gloves. Yes, this’ll take away from the cat claw thing Chat had going on, but I’m ok with that. To go with his punk/rock band aesthetic, he got combat boots with the signature cat paw steel toes. His tail is pretty much the same along with the ears. His mask is also different, covering the bottom half of his face. This also takes away from the cat sclera thing the original Chat had, but Luka isn’t a furry so… also, the mask covering his mouth alludes to his calm nature and quiet personality, not feeling the need to play around, especially during a battle,which was where the original Chat erred most often. Luka also has very expressive eyes, so I wanted to push that, like, even if he doesn’t talk much, he’s still a good communicator. Plus, when cats are hunting, they’re quiet! Which the original Chat cannot relate to!

Ladybug: ok, so her suit is still pretty basic, since I wanted to stick with he AU’s canon description of her suit. The main bodice/legs are similar to the season 4 suit after she calls on the lucky charm, but the sleeves are slightly different. I also got rid of the “reverse” polka dots cuz they just look ugly imo. Her gloves are also fingerless, since I feel like that would 1. Lend better to doing yo-yo tricks and 2. They just look better (u_u) anyways, her hair is still the same, as well as her mask. It’s pretty basic but eh…

Neurofoxin: her design is also super simple, but I also wanted to veer away from the gaudy orange normally associated with the fox miraculous. If she can make her tiger suit purple and red, I can make her fox costume reddish purple!! She’s goth, she’s not gonna walk around in *o r a n g e*. And I stand by that. Anyways, like I said her suit is relatively simple, the panels of the suit modeled after Volpina’s actually, because despite how I hate Lila and her stupid sausage link hair, her volpina suit was pretty cute. Instead of giving her a jacket w/coattails or a belt/sash to be her tail, I decided to make it her hair, cuz even in civilian form it’s pretty long. I also decided that instead of a dark grey/black to purple, I’d make the tips the same cream as her “underbelly” panel, as I wanted to incorporate the cream in more than just that singular spot. I also pulled her bang back because even if she’s goth, she still needs to be able to see properly as a superhero. Plus, I like Juleka’s eyes, and I feel like Trixx would like her to show off more. Anyways, besides the morph suit and her hair being a bit longer than normal+a different color, she has a cropped leather jacket,same color as her suit. There’s also paneling on the side/back of her thighs/back that’s a darker red/purple color. Again, to go with her rockstar/alt aesthetic, I gave her combat boots as well, though hers are knee high, plus I forgot to draw the laces, but eh. Fun fact: I headcanon the Couffaine twins as being super tall for their age, but Juleka is taller than her twin for now+her boots are heeled.

Fukiya: for Kagami’s suit, I pulled inspo from someone else’s LBO AU fanart, although I can’t remember who’s it was. Originally, I was gonna go for a suit similar to Kagami’s fencing gear, but decided to go w the suit she has now so it’d be more reminiscent of a bee. I gave her a sleeveless, cropped kimono, the bottom of which has a honeycomb pattern and an ombré going from dark yellow to black. Her obi has two layers, the bottom layer being a bright yellow and the outside layer being black. Her sleeves are similar to Queen Bee’s, but with an added black line. Her legs are completely black with the exception of her knee pads, which are a bright yellow and octogon shaped. I wanted her to look more bee-esque than Queen Bee or Vesperia (her character design is 🤢) so I gave her the yellow torso with black limbs, than made the kimono collar thick to look like a neck ruff or smth. I honestly struggled with her design a bit but it looks ok in the end so I’m happy with it :) also, Kagami is the shortest because I said so!

Heavy Matal: oh, Ivan, you absolute teddy bear of a guy. I adore the Iván of this AU, he’s so sweet, a gentle giant, so I wanted to focus on making him look slightly softer than the rest of the heroes, despite being the turtle holder. I gave him his signature cargoes, although they’re pants instead of shorts when he’s transformed, a sleeveless hoodie, and “turtle”-neck compression-esque undershirt, the sleeves long enough to be, you guessed it, fingerless gloves! The only reason Kagami is the only one with full gloves is because I wanted to giver a more serious/conservative look. Mari’s been ladybug so long she deserves to have cute, fingerless gloves! Anyways, back to Ivan! His hoodie is two toned, like a turtle’s shell, with the front being a light green. It’s patterned to look like a turtle shell underbelly, with a nice big pocket to hold whatever. He wears elbow- and knee-pads, which are shaped like little turtle shells. He wears regular Vans-style tennies, and his mask is similar to Carapace’s, except it cover the majority of the front of his face (think Kid Flash), and is colored/patterned similarly to a box turtle, with red accents along his cheekbones and his little tuft of hair is his usual blond with an ombré to that same red. (Ignore the ear I forgot to color in plz, I don’t feel like editing anymore T-T)

Ok, so that’s it for today’s character designs! I’m working on redesigning pretty much everyone’s civilian and hero costumes. I haven’t mentioned on this blog, but on pretty much every Gabe!Salt fic I’ve read, I will tell you, whoever the hell designed most of the characters in MLB, you deserve to be fired and then arrested. I’m so sorry, but there’s no way ur gonna convince me Fashion Designer™️ Marinette Dupain-Cheng walks out of her house every day, wearing ugly ass ballet flats+”denim” jeggings in that shade of pink. No way. And don’t even get me started on Gabriel’s candy-cane, red pants and duck hair headass, because omg… that man is supposed to be a world renowned Fashion Designer™️, one of the best in Paris. IN. PARIS!! No fucking way. No way. I get, you want ur characters to be simple and easily recognizable, but that doesn’t mean they have to be ugly!! And I get it, Adrien’s supposed to have a model-off-duty look, but wth are those shoes? Plus, why does he never change for his photo shoots? He’s a MODEL! I get it, you can’t even spend money to change the transformation animation to whatever the characters are actually wearing but wtf??? If you were gonna have any kid’s show where we get to see a lot of different clothes/outfits, this would be the show!! Two of the main characters are fashion designers, one of the minor antagonists is the daughter of a fashion magazine owner and your other main character is a model. IN PARIS!! A city known for its fashion and “romance”. And ur telling me you can’t add a few more outfits to the show??? That’s called lazy writing/animation.

Ugh, sorry abt that rant, but the character designs genuinely piss me off. It’s bullshit.

idk if I've posted this before, but an UT/DR headcanon I have and don't see in others often is that humans in those worlds are not the same as the humans from ours. They're definitely more similar to us than the monsters are, but they're not the same "species" as what we'd consider to be a normal human in our world.

For starters, they can have bright yellow skin. That is straight-up canon. While we've never actually seen two humans interact in canon unless you want to count the end of genocide (which I won't because I interpret it as Chara talking to YOU, not Frisk), the fact that we now have two separate individuals with this skin tone does sort of imply it's normal. It's not a colour it's possible for a human to naturally be in our world; even when one has jaundice, it's not bright-ass Lego minifigure yellow. These kids are the colour of poison dart frogs. They're the colour of a hazard strip. That's not normal.

Given both this hint that these humans are different and the fact that all 3 humans seen in canon are universally addressed by they/them pronouns and are completely androgynous, I have a headcanon/theroy:

Humans in these worlds have no male/female sexes, no concept of gender, and no differing sexually dimorphic traits.

I do not think these humans have men and women. I think all humans are born as genderless, completely androgynous beings, and have no concept of gender within their societies. I have no idea how they'd reproduce, but I imagine them as having either no genitalia, or all having the same "set," and what it looks/functions like I have no clue. Honestly, I'm kind of leaning towards mitosis.

I like this idea for the following reasons:

Mettaton EX being so androgynous despite his identifying as a binary male would be a thing he lifted from humans, being such a fan of them and all. The thing with the four, five and six fingered gloves heavily implies he wanted his body to appear as human as possible, and I suppose that could mean combining what we would consider to be masculine and feminine traits into one metal genderbeast.

It adds a touch of "gremlinous creature" vibes to all 3 human characters; "inhuman" anatomy despite being explicitly, plot-importantly human.

The confusion about reproduction and just how tf not having gender or bio sex would work I and you are feeling right now is EXACTLY how monsters, the main in-universe demographic of both games, would feel.

Feels kind of Homestuck troll-ey, which is always a plus in any Toby Fox project because it solicits groans.

Things I percieve as flaws in this headcanon:

Kind of discredits the non-binary identities of the human characters, especially Kris, whose themes of identity, control over one's body and teenage angst are strongly complimented by a trans identity. If these characters were born non-binary, though, they wouldn't be trans for continuing to identify as such, for the same reason Mettaton and Mad Mew Mew are trans for being born genderless yet having a binary identity.

While opening narrative doors, also closes them... this is again very Kris-centric because they're older, but I've just seen so many portrayals of Kris as a non-binary kid stuck in a perisex body going through puberty that are really interesting and compliment their angst. Binders, facial hair, periods, voice changes... can't do anything with that anymore if these humans don't go through puberty as we know it, and that makes them less relatable.

It just feels bad to hc away canon trans rep like this, yk? UT/DR certainly wouldn't be hurting for it without human trans characters, but they're canonically trans, non-binary playable characters in a mainstream game. That is INSANELY rare. I cannot think of a single other example. Trans mcs are rare enough in mainstream media as a whole, let alone non-binary ones. To strip these characters of that to non-binarify their entire species feels a little... tradeoff-ey.

Hemera design! For fun and to incorporate some headcanons, info under cut!

- I know pastel colours aren’t exactly… Sparklecare-ish? LOL. But!!! I love pastels. Who can blame me. So I gave her pastel colours :]

- I gave stem more markings, such as end-of-ear markings, an under tail marking, thigh and shoulder markings, and a mouth marking (which she also has canonically)! She also has blue tipped fur on her head, because I thought it was pretty!

- On the note of extra markings, she has blue freckles! Stem has them on both sides of her face, but one half is covered by plant juice.

- She wears socks. I personally headcanon stem as having sensory issues (which I think is canon to Cometcare?), and I’d like to imagine that while she loves working outdoors, stem hates the feeling of dirt getting in-between her paws. The socks help (but don’t totally eliminate) this!

- Her gloves are blue instead of orange now! I just thought it looked better than the orange, but there’s nothing wrong with the orange either LOL

- The band around stems ears is striped!

- ^ Relating to the above, I also gave her a band around her tail :] just to be cute! No other reason

- I gave her a TON of tiny spot markings. Sorry. I know there’s way too many but I LOVE adding them 😭

- She has a snaggle-tooth! Once again, just for fun, with no particular reason.

- Stem has flower patches stitched onto her gown, plus a pocket! I like to imagine Uni did it for her as a sort of gift :]

If he steps one TOE into a jewelry store, the whole village would immediately know what's coming, so he makes the ring himself.

All those invitations he kept? He used them to spell out 'Will You Marry Me?'

And you know as he was actually speaking the words she also pulled out a ring and asked him.

Clay and Viva Proposal

With the Bergens help they moved a bunch of the Hole n Funs buildings to Pop Village.

It left the Hole n Fun practically empty.

Viva knew this was a good plan but it was still a sad sight to see her former home stripped bare.

Clay had a plan.

Clay appreciated the symbolism of 'starting a new chapter'

He organized a campout with all of the PuttPutt Trolls on the last night there.

When Viva wasn't looking, Clay had the PuttPutts take turns leaving the group and arranging the leftover fairy lights.

Later in the evening, the lights were switched on and they formed a path.

Viva followed them to the highest spot on the course, where Clay was waiting for her.

Right at sunset.

He had a very long, carefully worded speech written ready to go but when the time came he was tongue tied.

So Viva asked him. 😏

And boy does Clay love a good plot twist.

And he cried.

All the PuttPutts were like "FINALLY!"

In celebration the PuttPutts threw the biggest, the loudest and the craziest party ever.

Everyone was joking about it for months.

🌑  (Specifics on where it’s located– the vein and placement of the connecting wrist to the arm that is mainly used for blood samples. The FCR Muscle is also used as a tendon of sorts which stabilizes the carpus. The Radial Artery is just one of the arteries that deliver blood back to the heart.)

🌑  It’s good to note that Reiji understands. More than most. Especially with the impulsive and intrusive thoughts and how it tends to keep one up at night. 

🌑  He knows it does for him. 

🌑  So also having an S/O who struggles with the same thing feels less scary. 

🌑  He feels less alone in the matter, and thus would ensure the both of them work together as a unit. 

🌑  He’s highly educated on these sort of topics, and it isn’t shocking for him to have come into contact with others in the past who’ve had OCD.

🌑  So Reiji would have some experience. 

🌑  He’d make it a point to have a conversation about their OCD, more specifically address what it is he can do to support them.

🌑  However, he’d find himself drifted when bringing it up. 

🌑  Even in light meaningless conversation, something about being labeled as ‘mentally-ill’ (in his standards) or having to need more accommodation for his needs makes him feel less worthy. 

🌑  Reiji is a firm believer of ‘no weakness.’ Anything that seems close to it would send him into a frenzy. 

🌑  So whenever he attempts to help his S/O a small lingering feeling would be present, as if he was looking down on the both of them for their shared weakness. 

🌑  Despite it all, he’d do his best to understand what exactly triggers them. 

🌑  For example– he finds that the constant reminder of Shuu outdoing him is a trigger. 

🌑  More so in the sense that he wants to actively tear him apart, limb by limb. It gets aggressively worse for the amount of time he looks at the blond. 

🌑  TW!! Specifically around 8 seconds, where he finds himself in deep thought, unable to tear apart his gaze. The way he wants to consume Shuu is a problem. In too many ways. As if he can feel the blond’s skin in between his teeth, gnawing and grazing it. 

🌑  Either metaphorically and literally, Reiji can’t seem to decide what’ll be better to remedy his aching mind.

🌑  It haunts him, just as much as his need to be rid of these impulses along with these triggers. 

🌑  TW!! And for that he’d forcefully brush his teeth before his gums started to bleed, reveling in the taste of his sin. 

🌑  TW!! It’s a trigger that mainly forces him to slam his fingers into the door, let the hinges dig into the tender flesh before he hears a familiar, yet soothing crack.

🌑  TW!! He’d continue this until he feels 80 surges of pain. It can be a throb, but hopefully enough for skin to break and blood to come rushing out his fingernails, turning his lithe fingers blue and purple. 

🌑  Something about the number 80 calms him. More so the number 8. Considering it’s the only perfectly symmetrical number, being able to be cut both horizontally and vertically, he finds solace in it. 

🌑  It’s gotten quite bad to the point where some of the maids would have to stop Reiji, this resulting in an upend of shame. 

🌑  Point is, Reiji has had his fair share and would do anything to ensure his S/O knows that he cares. In his own, semi-controlling way, of course. 

🌑  He’d most likely make them soothing teas and run comforting baths to ensure they aren’t losing their mind. 

🌑  He’d even go as far as to encourage other remedies. 

🌑  That being therapy or anything of the sort. 

🌑  Especially if he finds that he cannot provide the correct treatment as a professional. 

🌑  On the off chance they do take therapy, perhaps Reiji would attempt it himself. 

🌑  That would take some time, however. 

🌑  But Reiji has faith that they’ll get over it together, one step at a time.

hello I don't know if you are taking requests but if you do I wanted to give you an idea to write a headcanon with the villains of Gotham (I had thought about it only for jerome and jeremiah but it could be interesting with the others too). I was thinking of a situation where the reader is a walking encyclopedia, i mean, she knows a lot of stuff that might be irrelevant but makes them look more intellectual. Do you know those people who out of the blue tell you a random fact that you didn't know and when you ask them how they knew that they answer that they have no idea? Well something like that I was thinking. And maybe the reader also likes to read a lot and that is why she is always informed and has a rich vocabulary, and also she always speaks with metaphors. She is intelligent but without being very nerdy. It may be a silly idea but if it works for you, welcome.

Jerome tilted his head in confusion, his gaze on the victim he had tied up and kidnapped, his ginger eyebrows were furrowed and there was not a smile present on his face.

The victim was being more boring than expected, talking to him about business and things that he didn't fully understand, given that the man used technical and cultured terms that Jerome didnt know.

He was about to just grab his gun and shoot the man in the face when an idea came up in his head

"Dollface!" He screamed to catches Y/n's attention even though she was in another room, minding her own business.

Jerome's voice echoed in the room for a few moments and quick footsteps were heard shortly after. Y/n was a sort of salvation for Jerome, she was pretty smart and studied a lot, reading was her passion and her knowledge was unlimited.

The ginger could ask her anything and she always had a reasonable and perfect answer— she really enjoyed sharing her knowledge and found herself most of the tome share random facts related to what was happening at that moment.

Y/n stopped next to the chair where Jerome sat, letting his large gloved hands grip her hips, bringing her onto his lap

"Dolly, can ya understand what this fool is sayin to little ol'me?" Jerome murmured against the skin of her neck, placing little tessing bite and licks as she focused on the victim, listening and taking notes while explaining in easier words what was going on.

-Jobs in the group: secondary cook (anyone can cook really, but it’s mainly for those that don’t want too or can’t), keeping track of where everyone is and what they’re doing

Weapons of choice: Giant hammer like Blue’s but one side is a hammer and one side is an axe, bones that come from the ground

-Head canon voice: ???

-Uses he/him. But doesn’t mind any other pronouns. 

-Was a royal guard but was about to quit before the apocalypse, he found the job boring, he trained to fight, not stand around guard. He was a royal guard captain, which originally him and his squad were fighting but got pulled back to stand/guard in front of the royal families home. 

-Was relatively trigger-happy as a guard, but now during the apocalypse he’s relaxed a lot more, despite there being things for him to fight now. 

-To add to the point above. As a guard he never felt he truly had a purpose, he was just there to be there, since he liked fighting, he never cared about defending anyone because he never knew them. But now with the group he now has people to care for, which made him want to fight less and focus on taking care of them. 

-Likes to be on top of tasks, so tends to be quite bossy when it comes to getting things done. He knows some of the others don’t get along with him for this reason.

-Is actually a nice guy, and looks out for the others when he does notice something's off with them. Just a lot of the time the others don’t know he’s looking out for them. 

-Basically the mom of the group. Keeping an eye out for everyone, making sure everyone is well enough to do tasks. Making sure there’s no bad drama/bad blood between anyone. And making sure everyone is doing what they’re meant to be doing.

-Pretty much took the apocalypse in his stride. Was a little bit too calm about it, before he joined the group anyone he met tended to be freaked out by this calmness or would even claim he was happy about it. When in reality this calmness was a way for him to cope with it, as much as he adjust quickly, he knew there's nothing he could do to stop the apocalypse so got over it quickly.

-Was rather thrilled to have two other Royal guards in the group, Cross and Blue (even though Blue was training to be one Chief still classes him as one). Since he had others to relate too in terms of what they were doing before the apocalypse. 

-Tends to actually give good advice, but since he’s very hands on about the advice, e.g. advice that requires work to achieve. Most of the others don’t want to take his advice since they want more simple advice. 

-Like Cross and Blue he also does a lot of upkeep on his armour and weapons. He takes pride in having these things being in the best shape he can get them in. Sometimes complains to Blue that he’s not doing as much upkeep as he should be doing. 

-His horns grow relatively quickly so is often filing the horns down so they stay a size he likes. Also makes one bigger than the other on purpose. Since his outfit isn’t symmetrical (half a chest plate, and one of the waist pieces of armour being smaller than the other side) he also makes his horns not symmetrical. 

-The cracks in his skull he got from a fight, got them probably a month before the apocalypse. 

-Lust once offered to him to fix up his bandana but he refused, actually liking how it looks on him ripped like that. The bandana also has thin wire in it to help it stick up like that, or to allow him to shape it however he likes. 

-Wears his gloves most of the time, his gloves are quite thick, it’s to protect himself just in case he catches himself on his own armour. Since his armour is quite sharp in some places. 

-His triangle eye light can spin, mainly happens when he’s thinking, e.g. like a computer loading icon. The triangle can also take on other lengths and widths, e.g. when confused it can look more squashed. His other eye light can’t do these things though. 

-Will never admit to anyone but when he was younger he took dance lessons. He knew from the start he wanted to be a royal guard, and when he was a kid a royal guard captain once told him fighting was like a dance. Hence why he started to take dance lessons. So when he became a guard he was a lot more smoother than the others, had a lot more balance than them and would even fight as if it was a dance, allowing him to keep a consistent flow to his fights that most others couldn’t keep up with.

-To add to the point above he loves classical music that has an almost military sound to it (if you want an example sort of sound look up ‘Velkhana Iceborne theme’ it shows off the sound perfectly) (Velkhana’s fight in iceborne is also like a dance too, so both of their vibes fit perfectly)

-Loves sweet tasting things, but normally refuses to actually eat anything sweet, only really letting himself have sweet things when he thinks he deserves a treat.

How they feel about:

Nightmare: Doesn’t mind Night, respects the amount of work Night puts into the group. Never really has to Nag Night about anything due to the fact Night tends to stay on top of things. Night tends to be the one he goes too when there's a problem, since he knows Sci/Geno/Echo are hard to get a hold of.

Dream: Doesn’t run into Dream too often, but gets along with them when they do. Dream may help him from time to time, and does listen when told to do something.

Cross: They get along due to being royal guards and having things to talk about as well as train together. Does have respect for Cross, thinks Cross should be less polite about things though.

Blue: Likes blue, partly he misses whenever he had rookie royal guards with him. So having someone who was training to be a royal guard here who also listens to his orders he’s enjoying it. Partly views Blue as a little brother.

Ink: Doesn’t appreciate the pranks Ink pulls, but does appreciate the fact they keep the place more lively. So he can’t complain too much, just wishes less pranks were pulled on him.

Dust: Thinks he’s really unorginized. Does try to help him get more orginized, but also understands he (Chief) tends to catch him (Dust) when he has no energy. But also can never seem to catch Dust when he does have energy.

Horror: Sees him as a chill polite guy. Does think he’s a little bit forgetful of will often remind Horror if he has any tasks to do. But other than that they don’t interact too much.

Killer: Killer doesn’t listen to him half the time. So is on more neutral grounds when it comes to Killer. Will just go to Night and ask Night to deal with Killer if he’s having too much problems with Killer.

Error: Doesn’t see Error that often other than when he's doing his job. So is neutral with Error.

Lust: Lust listens to him and helps him out whenever they run into each other. Does respect Lust a lot for putting up with everyone.

Fell/Edge: Tends to pick up on when Fell is in a bad mood, will just pretend he never saw him to give Fell a break, knowing sometimes all someone needs is a moment to themselves. He does try to look out for Fell when he can, since he knows Fell tends to look after Sci and somewhat Geno.

Geno: Often looking out for Geno whenever they run into each other, will take tasks off of Geno if it’s a task he (Chief) can do. Will also try to get Geno to take regular breaks.

Outer: Since he tends to spend a bit of time with Outer he tends to notice when Outer is in what seems to be pain. He won’t question it, if Outer hasn’t told him already then he will wait for Outer to tell him. Will try to help out Outer where he can, and just generally tries to look out for him.

Sci: They don’t see each other too much, since Outer is normally the one giving info to Sci or doing tasks for him. He knows Fell is looking out for Sci, so doesn’t worry too much about Sci.

Reaper/Death: Seen him around Geno, tells Reaper to go away on the regular, though it's 50/50 if Reaper listens to him or not.

Fresh: Has briefly seen him, and tried to get to him, but Fresh had disappeared, assumed he was just seeing things and went about his day, but did tell Night about it. Noticed Night was quiet after he told him before telling him not to worry about it.

Gans/Echo: Doesn’t mind Echo, understands that some just like to be alone, and tries to respect it where he can. They sometimes do briefly talk about things not relating to their jobs, but only when Echo starts the convocation.

Nacho is the delivery guy of Peppino and the main rival of The Noise.

He is a playful, energized dude, generally outgoing and kind, probably the most fun person you’ll ever meet!

He goes super fast with his rollers and might act as a superhero sometimes, he also looks like one too ☆.

He is generally nice, and frank; he is not the type to lie (unless it would be for his own safety…). He still likes being provoking, teasing others, especially towards his enemies, he doesn’t waste the eventual fun!

He is also used to often drink orange juice, like, a lot of it. might be the reason why he is so energized heh?

And because of how energized he is, he can’t stay still for a second! (or at least it’s pretty hard).

Our dear hero isn't only able to make deliveries for Peppino, but also a pretty good dancer, (maybe even singer?? ✨)! He usually moves a lot and would usually twist a lot if he does a pre-existing dance, he puts his own touch into it! He seems to share some in common with the Italian man too ★.

Not only that, he is pretty good at playing basketball or any kind of sports in general. This helped him to make more precise shots if he had to throw something that requires that (on an enemy for example). It seems Nacho also has a good strength, he can lift pretty heavy things! (Even Peppino, crazy right-)

The Chipster is also used of doing pretty acrobatic moves while running, it can be pretty impressive to see him jumping around everywhere…

Outside of work, Nacho likes to spend time playing videogames, or going to arcades, it's more fun with friends! he would probably beat you on DDR haha

He also enjoys going to the cinema, always with some popcorn ☆.

Nacho is also mostly a joyful guy, filled with joy and excitement ★. He is always hyper-vitamined, cannot take a break and needs to move and do something constantly! No wonder why he gathered multiple skills and hobbies to stretch that endless stamina he contains.

Nonetheless, he can still sometimes be moody due to being upset or too tired (if he didn’t sleep well for example). In this state he wouldn’t like things he would usually do...

Nacho also likes having some attention or just showing off in general ☆. He is flexing!!

He takes a lot of care about his appearance (hair included), he is a superhero after all!

It's not hard to flatter him and he would appreciate compliments and support quite a lot ☆.

Nacho also does not really care much about money, he is even the opposite of greedy : he loves gifting, sharing to others despite not being *extremely* rich, a generous lad! ★

And just like most superheroes, no one knows what Nacho looks like without his mask nor his true identity (is Nacho his real name??).

He said that he decided to look like this to make him look "swag and mysterious".

Nacho also likes to dress differently from time to time, but he will remain keeping his mask and sometimes his gloves too while doing so.

💢 The Noise

Nacho and him are main rivals. They hate each other, and cannot stand each other for a minute. They would usually fight a lot, but they sometimes enjoy themselves on rare occasions, even helping the other at times but it’s not common.

It seems they know each other before the events of Pizza Tower.

Nacho doesn’t entirely hate him, but The Noise is not in the same way and wants him gone...

💖 Noisette

Him and Noisette are good friends! They share quite a lot in common, sharing the same interests like stuff with wheels ☆.

He sometimes likes to help her out with her café just to give his help.

We could see them as besties! But this friendship doesn’t make The Noise really happy about it as you may have guessed… He can be jealous, and even feel humiliated seeing his rival hanging out with his girlfriend.

Nacho sometimes needs to be sneaky while trying to chat with Noisette, her boyfriend always has an eye on him.

He also always gives a tip whenever he comes to see her!

🍝 Peppino

Speaking of his relation with Peppino, they're on good terms, and could even consider them as good pals now.

He first met him by hearing Peppino needing some help with his pizzeria, and Nacho took the opportunity to be his delivery man. At that time Peppino wasn’t really benefiting that much, but Nacho insisted on being hired him. Seems like he wasn’t really looking for money for this job. Peppino was pretty skeptical at first, not knowing Nacho at all but ended up accepting.

As time passed, Nacho was able to impress the Italian man by showing how fast he was with his job, always asking when the next order is coming! He is very motivated. After after a while, Nacho could gain some money with tips, and since he is fast for delivering the boxes, people were usually generous with him, wanted to see him delivering them!

Though, I wonder if one of them got unsatisfied with the order to come too fast heh…

When they are off work, they sometimes spend time together to have fun ☆.

They're both good cheesy friendos. Despite not spending a lot of time together, they still enjoy the time they spend when they do!

🍕 Pizzaface

Nacho and him are both true enemies. They both despise each other a lot, but they somehow can be cool but only in a comical way.

Pizzaface would messes a lot if Nacho was seen in the tower, Nacho does not hesitate a second to mock him or make him look like a fool!

Pizzaface doesn't want to deal with another speedy guy after all, and even more annoying.

⚙️ Nabot

Nacho and them are meant to be enemies. Nacho personally has nothing against Nabot but sees them more as a goofy robot who wants to defeat him. He is not worried about it though, he even takes it easy and prefers to tease them ☆.

❤️ Pepperoncino

Nacho only met him once. All he knows about Pepper' is that he was Peppino's mentor and that he is "a nice pizza".
