OKOKOK HERES THE AU IDEA

ive been revisiting Detroit Become Human bc of my partner playing it recently, as well as me reading some connor x readers that gave me this idea directly, plus adding in some other games that i feel like could fit, i had this idea:

The Narrator is an experimental Android named VA427 "Virgil", made as the ultimate assistant and sent to work at some office building

He follows the boss around, doing tasks given by them and walking around the office helping the boss manage it while they stay in their office

This is how he meets Stanley, an employee who is usually reserved around everyone except for Virgil.

He takes a liking to Virgil, signing to him and having chats whenever he passes by, and Virgil loves it.

The two grow close. Virgil likes Stanley because he treats him with respect and listens to him, Stanley likes Virgil because he's not judgmental and can understand sign language

However, as their friendship grows, the boss begins to assign more work to all his employees, causing most of them to be overworked with a few accidents involving people passing out on the job

Stanley is no exception, he stays late and does every task asked of him, Virgil is worried but keeps doing it since thats his task, however this is when he starts to deviate.

He starts questioning things during his time working, and realises his attatchment to Stanley

Stanley falls over one day at the office after staying overtime for a month straight for 3 additional hours.

Virgil runs in to help him as everyone else walks around him like its not a problem. Stanley dies shortly after in the office.

Virgil goes to call 911 when the boss stops him, telling him that its not neccessary and to dump his body in the basement.

if the police found out about the treatment of their employees, they could be sued, so the boss has elected to hiding the bodies and covering up their deaths.

Virgils furious, mourning the loss of his friend taken too early and the only person who treated him nicely. But the boss doesnt budge

they throw Virgil and Stanley into the basement together. Locking them in with a pile of dead bodies and all items that other dead employees used.

He goes to find a few spare computers and manages to find a way to hook himself and stanley up to it.

Connected to the PC, stanley's body and mind is uploaded. However, its not fully, since stanley was dead for a while before being uploaded, it only retains a few memories. primarily that of being in an office, and having a wife and an apartment, but not having the exact memory of who or what they looked like.

Virgil creates a VR world for stanley to live in. at first he had attempted to create sprawling stories for him just as stanley told him in past conversations, but Virgil hasnt really explored the outside all too much given he lives at the office.

He shifts the VR world so its centered around the office. He cant tell stanley he's dead either, so he acts as though hes simply playing a video game.

the next few years/decades are just the narrator falling deeper into the role of making stories for stanley and getting too into the video game idea. releasing the game offically however with stanleys consciousness only on his PC in the basement of the office.

during these years, is where im combining some aspects from portal blue sky and half life.

while virgil falls into the role of the narrator and is in the basement of this office with stanleys decayed body, the black mesa incident happens.

aliens come in, vorts n shit, and then the combine come in and take over. virgil doesnt ever see this bc hes safe in the basement.

decades pass by, then after a long while, an explorer wanders into the ruins of the old office building

they eventually find the basement and the narrators body hooked up to the computer and stanleys skeleton beside him

this explorer would take the keyboard and begin playing the game, until virgil, now the narrator, realises that its not stanley

however, so much time has passed and so little of stanley was saved that hes simply a dead man walking, an echo of a dead man, a memory

after a long time where the explorer and the narrator talk, the narrator agrees to end the vr simulation, he keeps it in his memory banks, but he agrees to not fully trap himself in the simulation to keep stanley going. hes gonna lay him to rest

getting up, the narrator finds his body to be alien to him, hes forgotten that he even had a physical form, and through the years of being put on sleep mode to allocate all processing power to the vr world, his bodys also decayed a bit

the synthetic hair doesnt grow, but begins to fade in its colour

his eyes dont work as well considering theyve been on standby mode, they still work, but theres a permanent blur to him that means he needs glasses

the synthetic skin on his face and hands only begin to sag and wrinkle

the parts of his body that dont have synthetic skin and are exposed from the rips in his clothing have rusted, the office building's basement being almost like the skip button where a break in the roof causes some water and plants and animals to enter and eat away at his body. making it rusty and making him slower to move

the explorer and the narrator leave the building, and take refuge in a small town of other survivors quite similar to eaden in blue sky, where the explorer lives

during the narrators stay here, he struggles to move past stanley, being focused and obsessed with him for decades before being brought out of it.

and here comes the whole reason why i got this au idea:

the narrator goes back to the vr simulation with stanley and the office, and shifts it.

what was once an office becomes a refurbished memory zone. with a desk for him to write in whenever the explorer sleeps and a place for him to calm down when tough things happen. its the closest he can get to a mind palace

however, hes not alone in here, he makes a small area for stanley to live in, he will never leave him and his mind, but hes moved on, hes past that grief.

he visits stanley in this new mindscape of his from time to time, to give an update, to just remember him, but he moves on.

the rest of the au would just be the narrator learning to take control of his life again, trusting the explorer and becoming more integrated with the townsfolk, managing his rusty body, and re-exploring his old hobbies that he forgot about.

lol a bunch of sappy semi serious stuff below bc i cant help but be a bit genuine about this ship today :’3

i cant possibly put into words how important this silly little ship and its community mean to me haha,,,, this comic was made in 2021 but i didnt really get serious about chscr until late 2022 after a bunch of pretty bad interpersonal stuff happened and i needed an outlet,, COINCIDENTALLY a certain someone was announced to be playable around then and i was already thought chscr was Pretty Neat™️ so i ended up diving headfirst into the ship. it also gave me a good excuse to work on more comics too!! i’d done a pretty big zhongven comic earlier that year in the summer, but in terms of lore there was only so much i could have worked with at the moment.

childe and scaramouche have that perfect combination of silliness and angst and violence that could be explored or expanded in so many ways and i love love love seeing other people’s interpretations of their dynamic and relationship. they’re so complex,,,,they’re narrative foils,,,they’re narrative parallels,,,they’re trans allegories,,,they’re flies in the spiderweb of the games lore,,,they’re my stupid little meow meows,,, they’re just two losers i want to see make out,,,

in a nutshell, they’re everything to me. well, i hope i get that kind of sentiment across in my own comics,,,,

and i cant get started on all the people ive met through chiscara or the way that having something i can call “my thing”, as in, the thing that i like and that i will spend a lot of time and effort (and money, but lets not talk about that) to surround myself with because it makes me smile. its stupid to say, but being a nerd about these two stupid guys who have never had a single canon onscreen interaction in some random game has made me a much happier and confident person that i could have ever imagined back in my freshman year of college,,, when i say i dont know who i’d be if i hadnt gotten into chiscara, i really do mean it lol

i’m actually surprised i’m making it to over a full year of regular-ishly making art, especially for the same game and ship! thats never happened before and my art has improved so much over this past year!! more than anything else, i’m happy! i get to be excited talking about these characters with my friends and i love to see art of them pop up on the tl. i make stickers of them and decorate my phonecase with them and have little figures of them in my room that i look at when im up late at night working on schoolwork. sometimes just the thought of finishing a comic or daydreaming about a scenario or seeing what my mutuals are up to are some of the few things getting me through a tough day.

since luigi seems to be so analytical and anal with his thought processes (like you mentioned), i can see him pre-relationship being a bit skeptical while getting to know you; just because that’s not how his brain works. at the start he’d ask you so many questions. you’d have so many conversations that would give him better insight into your mind, to make sure you’re not just in la la land all the time. it’s giving, waiting for 3rd or 4th date to talk politics?… no. 1st date we’re talking about thoughts on religion, the afterlife, etc.

also, that’s not an insult to right brained/artistic ppl, I’m one of them (if you couldn’t tell lol)! i’ve been perceived as dumb(er than others) because I’m so driven by creativity, english and the arts (NOT scientific or mathematical at all). It's only once someone gets to know me better, that they learn how intelligent I am. right brain thinkers are more likely to be dismissed or overlooked, imo!

someone like luigi may not have been too surrounded by many right brain thinkers let alone dated them, and he would be so curious about what goes on in your mind.

obviously, you do develop a relationship and the dynamic would be adorable. you balance each other out! there may be some minor situations and misunderstandings where his strict, logical, rational self isn’t sure where you’re coming from; but he always listens to you explain your POV, and does come around to understand it. he’s very open minded, esp when it comes to you!

he loves your brain. i mean, he’s so fascinated by it. you find art, beauty, creativity and meaning in things that he could’ve never perceived in such a way. both of your brains work in different ways that are both so important.

whether you come to him about a situation all pouty, or do the opposite, acting stubborn and silent about it until he picks up on your mood shift, coming over to help you.. he’ll have a solution. he’d drop anything to brainstorm a way to help you solve your problems. for luigi, because of his logical problem solving, the solution is usually simple for him to come up with. but then you’re standing there with stars in your eyes like ‘wow luigi😍❤️ i would’ve never come up with that🤩 thank you so much😩’ and he’s just there, giddy, bc you make him feel so smart and useful. he’s so happy when he can help you in any way.

there will probably be a lot of funny moments trying to make decisions together. you might want to decide based on gut feeling, or your emotions, but he’ll be so analytical; thinking of every detail. for example, buying furniture together. you might be like “omg! this couch is such a cute colour, matches the vibe of our apartment and it feels so soft!” and luigi would be like “uhm… yeah! cute! but… (pulls out tape measure) it isn’t the correct dimensions, the fabric isn’t stain resistant, the cushion covers aren’t removable, and it isn’t well reviewed online….😅🥸”

if he’s not with you, he’ll take photos of things he sees while out-and-about, maybe exploring, and send them to you. or!!! when he comes home, he’ll be all excited to show you stuff he took pictures of, wondering what your perspective on it would be, how you would interpret it. he’ll go through the pictures with you and just listen to you gush over something artsy or interpretive, like if he saw graffiti he thought you’d find cool, a quote from a book or painting at a museum. idk!

if he goes book shopping for his own yk NON fiction books, he’ll always come back with a book or two for you. he’ll get home, probably make some sort of joke like “i just chose the book that had the most colourful cover”, when in reality he spent time at the bookstore looking through the books, reading so many back covers to choose one that he knows you’ll genuinely enjoy. or, he’ll just buy a book he remembers you mentioning you wanted in passing. even if he wouldn’t enjoy reading it, he enjoys knowing it brings you joy. and if you talk to him about a book you’re reading/read, he’ll listen as if it’s his favourite genre.

me personally, idk if it’s the eldest daughter in me, but i LOVE being taken care of + i think he’d enjoy feeling helpful. like if i was drawing on an app on my ipad and it crashed or something, i’d go running to him for help.. with anything technology related (even if i had an idea of how i could fix it myself) like heyyy my lil compsci problem solver.. help pls😇

overall, i think this dynamic is so sweet as long as you can both embrace each others differences and find that harmony. he would add more structure to your life while appreciating your perspective, and you’d add more spontaneity, empathy & creativity to his!

also idk if i touched enough on this, but this dynamic is literally a humanitarian power couple. like fighting for what’s right, with his brain and your heart!! best of both worlds for a well rounded perspective!! mwhahaha

So I head cannon both bill and ford as aspec this is important for the rest trust (I'm Aroace myself so some of my words are based of of experience ) being aroace doesn't mean you can't have a toxic one-sided relationship with a triangle

(most of this is pretty vanilla but I still wanna talk about it)

I believe it started of as a one-sided relationship on fords part (wow shocker) but it wasn't really love because he's ace it was more of infatuation (this stems from the fact he is a science boy and like ooo demon triangle thing) mistaken for love (I'm pretty sure this is common among aroace people or I just had an original experience) and maybe bill had just a little bit of the same feeling but instead of infatuation it was just pure obsession and when they had there little “tragic break up” and bill finally came to realize his obsession and it consumed him (idk i think that how abusive obsession is) and he realized he can’t live with out ford (i man he can but unhealthy obsession) and thus bills one sided relationship with ford where he just tries to get his puppet back but can’t figure out why he needs him so bad so he comes to the (subconscious) cuncultion there in love (because of course that’s the reasonable decision) and then you all know what comes after

Ok so this one is the least perfect out of all of them cuz it only half what I want (obviously this song is a stretch but hear me out) It's mostly for the like the last half of the song (remember what I said about throwing out the meaning for get that i lied) this song about the struggle ls of growing up and is a heartfelt plea to be understood and accepted for who we are (which obviously ford was a wired kid) and this kinda ties into the one-sided infatuation because it also is about the romanticism of nostalgic love, and the pressure of society telling you to find someone and "settle down" as we get older (witch yk aroace can’t really do that) so he’s grasping at the fact that he is enamored with this demon he just summoned (because science) so he can come up with this narrative in his head of how he is in love and can finally fit at least one of the societal boxes (idk it sounds like something to me probly ooc but I'm having fun)

CAN I RANT ABOUT KEN SATO??? AM I ALLOWED TO? BECAUSE I WILL. ALSO LMK IF I GET DETAILS WRONG!!! LMAO!! I watched the film like 4 times I don’t think I should have missed out on anything or gotten anything wrong but if I do let me know I’m not good at writing shit like this😭

I wanted to talk about the themes of “balancing” mixed cultural identity being kinda hinted at bc it’s something I immediately picked up as an Asian living in a western country. I’m not even gonna say it’s an “interpretation” because I feel like it was quite obviously hinted at would be pretty easy to pick up for anyone that has a similar experience as mine.

In that first interview with Ami, Ken stated that people made fun of him for the way he looked, talked and behaved when he first moved to the US. Since he was born and raised in Japan for a bit, he kept most of that culture that he grew up suffered by with him and got alienated for being too Japanese or not white enough. It’s a really negative experience that I think most people, me included can relate to because you can’t control the fact that you have a particular ethnic background, or that you look a certain way.

But like I also think living in the US for a significant amount of time has also influenced the way he thinks and talks too, the press conference scene stands out with him repeatedly saying bro, as well as the baseball match where he got mocked and told that he should just “go back to America”. It’s kinda clear for most of the film that he’s “not Japanese” enough too.

It’s a difficult situation because on one hand he’s “too Japanese” in America but not “Japanese enough” in his home country. There’s this feeling that there’s no pleasing anyone here! So I believe to avoid having to “balance” his American and Japanese identity, he does things “his own way”. Or “giving the people something else to talk about” in his own words. At least that’s how I’ve interpreted it, idk if I’m stretching or yapping too much.

Him doing things the “Ken Sato” way is a kinda funny excuse for him to do whatever he wants, but I also think it’s just an excuse to avoid sticking to one “culture” (identity), because he can’t. Going back to the the first one-on-one interview with Ami, she points out that he’s eating noodles the “wrong way” and while it is just one single action, to me it seems representative of Ken’s behaviour as a whole when being confronted about tradition or culture. Am I wording that right? I’m not good at articulating complicated thoughts because I have A LOT!! It’s just difficult to type it out.

I just think the inclusion of all of these seemingly insignificant scenes makes Ken’s character seven more meaningful as a someone who’s Asian-Australian because I relate to it so much!! I just wanted to share my own thoughts and feelings about this movie and the little themes it hints at bc I don’t know any other big animated film that mentions this kinda experience😭 I’m not sure if Ken’s experience with his heritage/identity was intentional or not but it seems hinted at enough for it to be a purposeful inclusion, at least that’s how I see it.

I do wish they could’ve explored it a bit more in depth, maybe showing Ken’s life in America a lot more because I doubt they’d go back to it in the possible sequel, but I’m happy nonetheless because I feel really seen when I watch Kenji talk about his own experience. Sorry for yapping too much omfg

time for more rambling with frontier

this is just a general lore exploration of new game's world tbh!

in new game, the universe is based off of archie heavily--the characters live on mobius, teleporter rings are commonly used, the freedom fighters exist, moebius and other parallel worlds are a thing, stuff like that. but also it takes elements from idw, as in there are more modern interpretations of things than there were in archie! mainly just, what characters exist and which ones dont lol. i want starline and surge and kit to exist at some point in the world (not in the story, mind) but also sally and fiona are there too. ngl i even considered throwing manic and sonia in there but im still tossing that idea around honestly

some things that i kept around from archie include sonic having jules as his dad--yes the roboticized one--but jules "passed" way before the story starts. hell i figure he passed before the events of sa1, and same for sonic's mom bernadette. as for scourge, i figured his mom passed way earlier on, a little while after he was born, so his father jules was tasked with raising him (and he did kind of a shit job of it). with manic and sonia im torn on that bc id have to make it to where they were the children of bernadette and not aleena like in underground so im not sure what to do with them yet. but i love them a lot so idk. might go thru with it eventually. but i only bring them up because scourge does NOT have siblings, which if manic and sonia were a thing would be a very big difference between both worlds' sonics too

im also tryna figure out silver's deal. because i insanely love his 06 lore over the archie lore, but hes kind of essential to scourge's story in archie in hedgehog havoc, so i think what im gonna do is combine them and have silver come back to destroy sonic as the iblis trigger while still keeping it in a lowkey archie context. somehow. i'll figure it out lol. hes not rly relevant in new game so this is just extra lore for me to think about

and like ive mentioned many times before, new game takes place in the future after the events of frontiers, so the characters have aged significantly! the youngest is tails who is now 14 ^^ everyone else is in their early-to-mid 20s

One of the biggest problems people had with the L//S is how poorly developed it's been and how less effort it has been put into it, And don't get me started how Adrichat and Maribug barely interact basically making the ship have 0 chemistry.

But then when ships like Lukanette and Adrigami came along, then there's some Toxic L//S stans who bash the characters (and doxx lukanette and adrigami shippers), with their only excuse being "ThEy R iN tHe Way of adr///ette/L//s (Mainly because they're insecure that Lukanette/Adrigami has Chemistry, proper development and effort and their ship doesn't)

I'm so sick and tired of the hate that Lukanette/Adrigami gets.

I'm so sick and tired of seeing Lukanette/Adrigami shippers get d0xxed, threatened and bullied just because they don't ship the L//S or Adr//ette

Yikes, people doxxed each other because of ships?? For some reason I'm not entirely surprised. I've seen fandoms with super toxic people and the ml fandom sure can be toxic as hell. If you (general) get so worked up about people's opinions about characters from a kids show, you should be denied access to the internet and instead have access to tons grass to touch. But yeah, even just "normal hate" can be frustrating and discouraging, so it's best to just block those people. I completely understand your frustration.

Luka//nette isn't good because they were half canon, it's good because they have a meaningful bond and the root for drama is always outside circumstances and not the fact that they fundementally don't work together. If Mari wasn't Ladybug, they probably wouldn't have split up. That's why I love this ship so much. Besides, they never got in the way of anything. Realistically, no ship can get in the way of a confirmed endgame ship bc, well, it's endgame. So this argument is kind of falls flat (honestly most arguments against Luka//nette I've heard were either not really important or kind of a very outlandish interpretation of their relationship, I don't care about either.)

Heck, even if Luka//nette wasn't the rival ship but just friends in canon who interacted twice, who cares? Shipping isn't supposed to be serious, it's exploring different dynamics between characters and having fun putting them in different scenarios and have them have 6176310278 different first kisses. There's no rule that you have to be on board with the canon ship.

Now speaking of L//S developement (bc now I'm also in a salty mood and I have thoughts)

I and many others have already talked about how s1-4 didn't really do much with them. But I find it funny when people say that s5 did a great job developing they're relationship because... bitch where? I've watched season 5 (I have no self respect) and everything was confusing and over the place and I think that's bc the writers can't make up their minds about which problems the L//S might face actually matter and how they can be solved.

The season starts with Mari making a big deal about how loving Adrien is dangerous because hero stuff. Oh but actually it doesn’t matter, she likes CN now, problem solved! Oh wait no Chat friendzoned her and Adrien is pushing real hard for Adr//nette so they give up their fucking miraculous (in times of crisis I might add), problem solved! No wait, actually the new heroes suck so they take them back, but that’s okay bc being in love and being a superhero at the same time is actually no longer a problem for some reason! The actual problem is that Mari is incapable of expressing herself because she has trauma. And THAT’S the real shit because fucking everybody gets so invested they organize literal dates for them and watch from a distance until they smooch instead of, oh idk, letting them do things their own way. But actually that also doesn't matter anymore bc Zoe just confessed and Mari was so inspired she immediately ran to Adrien. Oh but Adrien is a senti without free will and he goes to england soon whoopsie. Also Gabriel and Tomoe are now Adri//gami shippers because of course we need an arranged marriage deal type of plot. Oh yeah there's also something about Monarch apparently having all the miraculouses but who cares amirite

See what I mean? There's no structure, no actually overcoming problems, it's just random shit happening without any connection to the previous random shit. The characters don't develop in a meaningful way. Mari's only life goal is making one cohesive sentence in front of Adrien and he's kind of just there. I mean he could maybe feel inspired by Marinette's passion for arts and crafts and try out some stuff or he could continue to have no direction in life. Yes, as a teen it's hard knowing what you want to do later in life, but Adrien doesn't even really have actual hobbies he can define himself through. The writers fail not only to develop the relationship as a whole but also the characters involved as people. They could as easily be a situationship where they meed every two days to make out and it wouldn't change anyting. It's just fan service here and there combined with shallow and forgettable dialogue (I think, there wasn't a conversation that stick with me at least) and idk this maybe works as a first love that maybe lasts for a year before they have a dramatic break up and then move on with their lives, But the show tries to sell this idea that the square will actually stay together forever (or have a constant toxic on-off thing bc that's the vibe I'm getting. Plus Bunnyx sort of implied that).

but you're right in that it makes him worse in different ways - he literally kicks your parents out when they want to be real parents to the only child that they might actually be allowed to raise. he's possessive and wildly entitled in ways canon!gojo never got to be.

he really does always just expect you to be there. in his mind, the struggles you have - being in his shadow, the only significance of your life being how much he cares about you, the fear of being abandoned - they literally don't even exist. he doesn't know about them at all.

another thing i i like abt tmms that i recently noticed is how it takes the personalities & archetypes of previous characters & interprets them differently. i think thats pretty rad & opens up a lot of ways to explore & play around with characters that embody certain traits and emotiona. like:

mr grumpy is probably the most noticeable case for this. in tmms hes more introverted and easily annoyed, but he doesnt have any malicious intent & his reactions are usually justified. he also really likes fishing & i think that extra flavor of characterization is dope. meanwhile in the books hes just a straight up asshole who stomps on people’s feet & demands for shit at stores. the contrast is so astounding??? like how are these two the same character. he must be studied under a microscope

mr happy is genuinely happy in the books, though he occasionally expresses other emotions like sadness or sickness when the moment calls for it. however, in tmms, he tries his best to be happy even if he clearly isnt. imagine how fun a character arc for this specific mr happy would be to play around with

miss helpful’s depiction in the books & tmms both include her ironically not living up to her namesake & just making things worse for others. in the books shes genuinely clumsy and incompetent about everything she does. in tmms she appears to be slightly more competant & informative about what shes doing, but leaves out vital information & still screws up on occasions. idk thats pretty interesting imo

this may lead into fanon territory bc of how i warped my perception of him, but mr noisy kinda qualifies for this. in the books, he's not that bad of a guy! he just isn't aware of how loud he is & eventually learns to speak in a way that doesn't disrupt the townsfolk's eardrums. in the mr men show, though, he literally doesnt give a fuck. hes loud & hes just gonna let you know damnit!!

Re: the Lost In Translation fanart, it makes an interesting point that is fun to explore (ie how Earth C’s perception of the beta kids is so wildly different from who they truly are and the conflict that creates) but only points out the surface level ways the public that literally worships them are wrong (race and gender), and doesn’t dive deeper into the much more interesting questions it leads to.

That being said, I also feel like the follow-up they did where June says “what do I say to them? I’m not white?” Is an annoyingly literal take on their original depictions. I feel like the hs characters are less white coded (bar a few characters like Dave) and more just Very American because Hussie is Very American.

Someone from a diaspora like me, for example, wouldn’t have much of any immediate indication that I’m Armenian other than my appearance since I’m culturally American (like the hs kids). Am I suddenly lost in translation, just because I don’t speak my father’s mother tongue, or eat dolma every day? Is Jade suddenly not [insert race/ethnicity here] because she talks like an American bc she grew up on the Internet/talking to the other Beta kids? Much like the story being set in 2009 is important in informing the reader of the cultural context, so is the fact that the author is writing culturally American characters regardless of what their intended ethnicity is.

Idk it just seems silly to take an obvious stylistic choice made to save time and use it as an emblem of white washing when 1.all races are valid hc for the kids and 2. Just because a character talks like what you think a white American talks like doesn’t necessarily mean they’re white coded, just American.

shes donald ducks twin sister, and mother of huey, dewey and louie duck. she is described as persustent, headstrong, bold... she would never let people tell her she couldnt do ghings just cause shes a girl. shes a pilot as well

shes not present in her sons lives, at least up until their canon ages of roughly 10 years old. in the older canons, it is simply left there, however eventually in one comic it was expanded upon and revealed that she is on the moon! i believe in this continuity she has no idea 10 years have passed, and is shown in one to only believe herself to have been away for 15 minutes. truly tragic, considering no one has the heart to tell her.

in ducktales 2017, thats where my expertise shines cause my autism show, she haunts the narrative for the entire 1st season, and is presumed to be dead. at the end of the season, it is revealed that her disappearance caused a major rift in scrooge and donalds relationship, with them going no contact from before the boys hatch up until the shows pilot. also, like before, shes on the moon. idk why im talking so formally.

the second season we finally get to meet della and she fucking rules. she reminds me of my mom personality wise, which computes to me as that is a woman who never got an adhd or autism diagnosis and very likely needed one. shes silly, shes brave, shes impulsive, shes reckless. she learned her uncle was making her a surprise rocket ship and stole it for a joyride before it was done. roughly a week before her kids hatched. i have thoughts about that, but thats for later or maybe another ask.

ANYWAY. evidently, stealing an unfinished rocket ship is a Bad Idea; it gets swept up in a cosmis storm and she crashes on the moon. her leg is pinned under some debris of her ship, and she is forced to amputate it. keep in mind she is Completely Alone. then she spends the next ten years, still alone, slowly trying to find a way home to her kids. she has a picture of her, scrooge, donald and the eggs taped up the the wall and she drew what she thinks her kids might look like on the back of it. she went from building SOS signs to trying to rebuild the ship herself (teaching herself ROCKET SCIENCE in the process)

shes in rhe final stretch and then she meets moon aliens who have been here the whole time and also have a thriving society and all the materials she would need to rebuild her ship. because of course theyve been right there the whole time. sure. ten years of solitude and theres been guys here the whole time. at least one of them is a hot butch like twice her height?

the moonlanders help her rebuild her ship and she finally gets to go home and see her family. donald is sent away until the finale because they dont want me to be happy /j fr tho the twins reunion was underwhelming but its wtv i can cope

the reunion of della and scrooge is magnificent though!! along with her meeting her kids <333 they spend a few scattered episodes briefly exploring how she missed so much of their lives and ultimately doesnt know how to be a mom, but theyre a family and theyll work to figure it out. they make like... 2 brief nods to how she spent a decade alone on the moon, but judging by the appearances of younger della in flashback stories, it seems as if shes nearly completely unaffected (i call bullshit but wtv. ill write it myself)

Okay so,

Steven and Mike, both got abandoned by their parents a little bit pre-miki era. They were already having a hard time. The parents either were both just not good influences and just straight up decided to leave or they lost custody of Steven and Mike became the new guardian for him.

Mike and Steven only have each other and their pokemon that they grew up with. Both have teams, but they both obviously are more connected with their Blastoise and Charizard. They temporarily stopped when Mike started to realize 'oh shit I have to get a job and actually raise my brother'. So during that time Mike wasn't training. Steven was tho.

Steven would mainly focus on training, Mike would help out and do some too but Mike was mainly working at one of the Pokemarts to help with bills and get food on the table.

Steven and Mike realized later on they haven't really had time to connect, so they eventually went back to Pokemon training and gathered badges.

Sooner or later Mike actually gets to the end with Steven, they fight, yada yada, and Steven wins YAYYYY he's the champion of Kanto YAYYYY.

Then Mike's like "you know it would be super cool if I could try to train with Miki bc y'know she's super strong. Maybe you can teach Dew a few things too whaddya say"

Steven says no, then Mike says "cmon pls" then they trade and yeah Miki's dead.

Obviously as everyone else probably sees it, Miki died from a short circuit when the bros traded with their Gameboys??? Or Pokedex idk. Some sort of a device where you got a linking cable y'know? And it electrocuted Miki (IDK how the damage was done to her neck, maybe something during the process focused on that and snapped it. Steven never got to see her body until later when he uses missing no but more on that later)

My brain is super fuzzy with this, so I'm sorry if this isn't accurate with the og creepypasta but,

Steven is just, at THIS point now, where he starts to be a selective mute. Shadows over the eyes, just straight up numb to everything. He is angry, yeah, he probably lashed out at Mike after it happened but the majority of his personality is shattered. Just an empty husk, doing what he can do besides being outside and trying to compete with other people because what's the point? His favorite pokemon died.

His other pokemon, he takes care of them well, feeding them and playing with them, but rarely does Steven ever feel anything anymore.

I don't see him being full of rage or anything like that until he actually goes outside after talking to Mike

"You should try to explore. I mean, walking outside for fresh air. Might help you." - mike

And Steven does. He does and it gives him time to think.

But Steven starts to realize none of the other pokemon approaches him. Just running away, immediately.

Give him time to really think, like "there isn't anyone who cares about me more than Miki" kinda??? Like yes Mike was there but not all the time.

Mike needed to go out and work, pay bills and only came by to help out occasionally but Miki was ALWAYS there for Steven when he needed comfort or someone to just listen to him ramble.

And yeah, basically he's like "I'm not going back home, not like Mike would want me to anyway"

Aaannnddd the further down he went, the more he thinks, and I think this starts a lil era where Steven kinda just lets himself stay outside for a couple months and goes missing so he can "think" more

Okay so... Now I say maybe it's been a month or two?? Stevens just uses leftover money, going around and finding places to sleep. He just doesn't feel right about coming back home yet but he did realize something

If he didn't trade at all, and if Mike didn't constantly ask about it then maybe this never should have happened. The more he thinks about this, the more he wishes he's never talked to Mike. This is where his anger boils up more. He's constantly in an echo chamber, by himself and wandering around.

Eventually this builds up to where Steven is like "oh shit I remember this one thing that I saw a while back maybe I should visit it"

Aaaaand missingno. Uhhhh yeah :3

Thanks to a friend I have a better understanding of it so basically, I can see it where Steven flies over to that area with one of the members of his pokemon team, sees missing no, and before missing no could really like, offer a deal, Stevens just like "whatever you say I'll do it as long as you can help me bring back " like DA devil y'know.

Missing no's like ":o oh wait really fr oh shit Kay. Well it's gonna cost you maybe... Gonna hurt yourself are you sure"

And Steven is obviously like "ummm gimme mine mine mine" bc he doesn't care about his body, he's stinky and covered in dirt

Missing no combined with Steven, Steven is in pain, twitching and gets all bigger and stronger. And he uses his combined power to revive Miki from her grave. And yay! She's back... But not... It's just a husk that's moving around.

She doesn't remember Steven but she's friendly with him bc oh wow a human. But Steven doesn't care, he's just happy his corpse of a Pokemon is alive :)

Steven comes home. He's a mess. Covered in cuts and bruises, and soaked in water.

Miki kinda was rough with him at first when he revived her so he has some fresh cuts from her. She's friendly now, but that's because Steven tamed her somehow I think???

He walks in, it's dead at night, midnight. Mike's sleeping in his bed soundly. He's actually tired, and has been setting up missing posters of his brother for the last two weeks. Was worried sick, never caught a wink so he's dead asleep until the door opens.

There's Steven. The room is so dark, Mike can only see the outlines of his brother's hat, hair, and a glint of Stevens eye.

Mike's sitting up right away, ecstatic that his brother is finally home and he's at the brink of tears. Just, he doesn't care and he isn't mad, he's just happy the only family he has left is home.

But Steven isn't moving from the doorway. Why isn't he moving? He's just staring at him.

Mike's asking what's wrong, are you hurt, did you see something.

Steven just lunges forward, faster than lightning and tackles Mile down. Mike obviously is fighting back, asking what happened and why he's doing this. And finally he feels two large, sticky hands whip to his neck.

They're tightening, grilling with such force that it just feels like a machine is doing the job. What makes it worse is that now Mike can see the cuts and blood on Stevens face. He can see a little bit of the expression. It wasn't smiling. But the eyes were dead and pin pricked.

Thumbs trap the windpipe, making it harder. Oh and bonus, a knee is digging into Mike's stomach to make it harder to breathe.

As this is going on Mike is still thrashing, nails digging into Stevens already sliced up arms and reopening wounds. And eventually, Mike reached up to swipe at Stevens face.

That immediately encouraged Steven to just jerk his hands, and snap the neck.

Mike grows limp, and Steven stays there for about a minute to process everything.

Then he leans back and stares.

Yeah. Finally it happened. He did what he wanted to do. Steven doesn't cry right away. He just slips off the bed, grabs Mike's arms, and drags the body to the backyard.

He's heading to the very same woods he disappeared off to, in the bitter cold.

There's blood that trails somehow, but it's not a lot. It's all from Steven. And finally when he finds a good place, he starts digging with his bare hands, a new grave for Mike.

kagehina, sakuatsu, yamayachi, kiyoyachi?

Ohhhh so many omg I'll try to keep this concise.

Kagehina: Absolutely makes sense, oddly does not compel me (at least romantically)

I go crazy insane for them as like narrative soulmates, rivals who are obsessed with each other for life. They both have this insatiable hunger for the sport that makes them feed off of each other in this singular way that I can't imagine either of them would ever have with anyone else. Furudate is a genius for the way they intertwine the kagehina relationship, it's so fucking good.

That being said, it's because they compel me so much in that way that they don't really work for me as a typical romantic ship. I totally get why it does work for people though, there's a LOT to work with.

Sakuatsu: Omg don't come for me but uhh, they don't make sense and it does not compel me...

😫 Sorryyy I just don't gett it. They barely speak in canon and I always saw their dynamic as mild at best. And then a lot of the interpretations I see of them in fanon aren't really my personal taste. Also I think my apathy toward them also comes from me being really picky about how Atsumu is characterized in fanon stuff

Yamayachi: Oh yeah this makes sense, but also does not compel me.

It's fine, they're cute. But that's about it for me. It just doesn't go much deeper than that I think and I enjoy them better as friends. Friendship potential HUGE I think tho, I think they'd have a lot to bond over in terms of like, feeling like they're on the outside, and just general anxiety things too. (plus i generally hc yachi as a lesbian and yamaguchi as bi and i always like to imagine them bonding over that when yamaguchi figures his shit out, but i'm pretty loose about how strictly i apply headcanons like that and it's not at all the main factor in not compelling me to them as a ship)

Kiyoyachi: Heyyyy the first makes sense AND compels me! Yay!

Not sure I even need to defend this one lol. SO many scenes, so many. Yachi is in love with her, borderline canon—and attracted to her? even closer to canon lmao. But of course their bond is more than just whatever fledgling crush Yachi probably has in the beginning, theres genuine care and respect and understanding.

The problem is,, and it hurts me, but they compel me the most when they're one-sided.. I think this is mostly bc of how affected I am by canon. I love them, I love them together, but also the potential for angst with them is SO high that I end up not engaging much with them as a pairing bc I don't like to read sad things about characters I love lmao. But then if I read happy fluffy things where they're the main pairing being explored, it sort of just feels, off to me—and while it's nice and cute, it compels me less?? Idk it's weird push and pull. Fanart rather than fic is the perfect happy medium with them for me, I think

You talked about this before, but he also is not very well written when you stop and look at it. His anger over Jaehaerys’ death is completely brushed over and nonexistent after episode 2, but you have stans who will argue him going out, getting drunk, and even humiliating Aemond is about Jaehaerys. Now I think that’s fine as a headcanon, but you can’t pretend that’s what the show tells us- or if you do, you then have to pretend Aemond is there in the first place because he’s sad about Jaehaerys, or Alicent demeaning Aegon is motivated by her grief over her grandson. None of that is explored because the story doesn’t care about it.

The problem is all of the actors are forced to come up with emotional connections because there are none in the script. But when Olivia does it to explain the ridiculous Dragonstone scene, certain fans will say she doesn’t accept the character she’s playing. Or when Ewan does it to say Aemond does feel guilt for hurting Aegon, it’s him whitewashing Aemond. They aren’t responsible for the writing, but they clearly have to do the work on their side to try and make it compelling enough. Idk it’s all such a mess 😭 TGC has now moved back to “Aegon is all on his own and has no one” because the show has him abandon his wife and child when he leaves. And that’s not his fault at all, he’s gotta work with what he’s given! He isn’t responsible for this. I wish we could just kind of admit every member of the Greens is shafted and the things you liked or felt were “good” character work probably came from these actor interpretations in the first place.

the actors are between a rock and a hard place because they have to do promo and the interviewers ask them all these questions on topics they can't make sense of. and the actors can't just say the writing is bad and the showrunners are incompetent! they want to have more jobs in the future

so you get these headcanons or borderline nonsensical answers bc they just have to wrap up that interaction somehow and go home. and, instead of acknowledging that sometimes they just literally have to make stuff up for answers, some fans eat it up and use it afterwards as gospel
