..... I think if we do a little side by side comparison. I think we can all pick out what the issue is:

People expecting the world to be sanitized to THEIR specific sensibilities, giving no thought to how it can and will affect people who are not them.

Someone can be deeply religious, feel dirty and gross for seeing ANYONE make out. But that doesn't make it okay for them to process their feelings by making another person change themselves.

Her entire backing for those feelings, was her religious views, and the need to press those views and ideals into others. It speaks to a specific lack of awareness around Christian cultural influence, that a good section of asexuals are falling to the same practices. Without even realizing it!!!!

I think the problem can be worded easily: Seeing a penis, or seeing sex- will not hurt you. What can hurt you, is processing it wrong.

Accidentally Seeing sex, and having your first thought be: this shouldn't have happened, so this should not exist, because I feel uncomfortable.

As a person on the ace spectrum, I'm finding an increasingly disturbing tendency in these circles to viewing ourselves as somehow "better" or "above" people who have sex, enjoy sex, enjoy watching sex scenes in media, or engage positively with sex or sexual content in any way.

Perhaps it's because I'm an extremely sex positive aego, though sex averse for myself (which basically means I do often find people attractive, enjoy engaging with sexual content, have private fantasies and am happy going solo but I have absolutely zero desire to ever have sexual contact with another person) I just find the judgemental puritanism I see so much of in these spaces disturbing - a particular sentiment I see very, very often is that movies/TV shows shouldn't have sex scenes in them because we, the audience, haven't "consented" to seeing them (leaving aside the gobsmacking offensiveness in equating watching fake sex on screen with the violation of sexual assault), and that people who do enjoy them are obviously stupid for doing so.

To be clear, I'm not saying that there's something wrong with being sex repulsed or averse and not wanting to engage with such content. Where you lose me is where you decide that something that is a normal, healthy part of life for most people is something shameful and dirty that should be hidden away and not talked about, because of your personal feelings.

I shouldn't need to tell anyone how much harm such ideas have caused throughout history, especially for women and queer people.

which led him to the conclusion that he should either A. run away or B. try and get you on his side

i... wouldn't say i'm exactly sick of hearing it, because it is an extremely valid complaint and literally everyone is always and forever right to make it- and i'd say i even agree with them on it- but. sometimes the amount of vitriol people have towards the mr cards ending is a bit. um. Extreme. at least in my experience. from my perspective. idk, as a power ending guy myself, i totally get where those people are coming from, it's just. sometimes i stumble across a post complaining about how the HD power ending has gotten yet another tie-in and all of the guys who make having the robe their entire personality are really annoying and the OP is completely justified in complaining about all of it because it Does suck that it gets so many things every other ambition ending doesn't and it Does suck that those guys are like that. but also it all just makes me feel weirdly personally guilty for choosing the ending in the first place. like. sorry i got this and you didn't. i'd give it to you if i could. y'know? like damn, i'm part of the problem

alright, u know what time it is. i've finished season 3 of voltron, so here's a whole dump of all my thoughts :o]

it was so weird starting out this season with no shiro. i felt so bad for keith, he was struggling so much without him and you could tell. it did throw me off that everyone was acting semi-normal even though shiro was missing?? like lance was so Lance (especially in the first episode) if that makes sense (which, like, if i think about it that's pretty on brand for him. i feel like he's the type to hide behind that flirty easygoing attitude when shit's going down.) i was freaking out when the lion swap happened ohmygod. i still have mixed feelings about it?? like i can kinda get used to keith in the black lion, but lance being in the red is so strange to me. they're just so red & blue coded, it's weird to put them in lions that don't match that. my heart was breaking when lance was begging black to let him be the new leader, you can tell he wants to prove himself so bad. and when blue wouldn't let lance in and he was having a mental crisis over it, i was genuinely in tears. he's got so much insecurity hidden behind that carefree mask and it makes me so sad i just wanna hug him😭 even though i'm not entirely on board with the lion swap, i did like the way it was executed. everyone gets in their lions to go fight, except oh wait! lance isn't following, where is he?? his lion is refusing him?? what! (i'll be completely honest though, i feel like i've read fics that have had something like this play out and they STILL did it better than the show did LMAO)

i also loved that it was LANCE out of all the paladins that became the new red pilot. he was worthy enough to be keith's right hand🥹 i feel like there was such a big emphasis on klance this season, there were so many important moments for their development.

key moment one:

the way EVERYONE was looking at lance to comfort keith??? and lance wasn't even thrown by it, didn't even seem to notice them staring at him. he was only focused on keith. he doubts himself in so many other areas, but when it comes to being there for keith there was no hesitation. he would have done it whether the others were there or not.

key moment two:

when keith came out of the black lion clearly upset and tried turning down the leadership position. again, everyone is chiming in and telling him that black has chosen him, he's their new leader, he has to do this. but he brushes them off, he's adamant in his decison. only when lance steps forward and tells him that he accepts his new authority, keith was willing to give it a shot. what if i scream

key moment THREE:

when lotor lured team voltron to planet thayserix and keith went a little cuckoo trying to catch him, he and lance end up having a moment where keith admits he's taken it too far, putting the team in jeopardy in his rush to capture lotor. and in perfect lance fashion, he agrees with keith. and then he supports him and says let's go fix it together.

this doesn't mean anything, he's just so prettyboy in this scene i had to add

moving on. lotor's character has me conflicted. his introduction had me thinking he was different from his father, and then it swaps to him talking shit with this inner group and sounding like he IS just like his father, he just presents a different front to the general public. but then a few episodes later, his plans are conflicting with what the witch (sorry i literally cannot ever remember her name) wants, and she's supposedly zarkon's right hand, so by that logic lotor is going against his father's plans?? and i think it's in episode 5 where he says "i am the leader! but i am not my father." so what is it really huh. i can't figure this guy out, i don't know whether to root for him or not

i'll tell you who i'm not rooting for though. lotor's group of misfits, that's who. i literally cannot stand them for some reason. that creepy blind person with the cat ANNOYS ME. they're so op it's actually crazy. i definitely dislike the lot of them because they're capable adversaries, which i know is the whole point, but also i just love these characters so much and i want them to be happy and win 😾 is that too much to ask???

i'm also a little bit of an allura hater...i'm still unaware of how that opinion is received in the fandom, so pls don't crucify me. i still have a bad taste in my mouth from her treatment of keith when the team found out he was galra, okay? i'm sure someday i'll get over it. or maybe i won't. we'll see. it was also frustrating to watch her try and pilot the blue lion. you're telling me this girl's dad is the creator of voltron, she was the one who instructed the paladins on how to connect with their lions, stressed the importance of teamwork, and she STILL thought she could boss blue around?? i'm sure it was purely to provide conflict for the story and deliver that payoff when she finally figures out how to work with her lion, but imo it was a little unrealistic for her character. yes, she's royalty and most people defer to her authority, but i just feel like she would have known better, especially considering most of the time she seems uncomfortable by people worshipping her. and episode 4?? her weak spot seems to be anything connecting back to her altean heritage, because she almost let the totalitarian alternate universe versions of her people into their universe simply because they were altean. yes, she quickly realized what was going on and switched sides, but i can't get over how easily she trusts anything altean, meanwhile she's skeptical of everything else. i know that's how bias works, but i can't standdddd hypocrisy it gets on my nerves like nothing else!!

episode 5 was wild. i don't know what they did to shiro, but it's got me so nervous for him and the team. the galra clearly let him escape, it was just too easy. him waking up alone, no guards or anyone to intercept him leaving his chambers? walking around, no sentries anywhere? he witnesses ANOTHER(?) shiro being experimented on before making his way to a pod and zipping away?? and most notably, the "notify command headquarters. operation kuron stage three is underway." to me, there's only one reason why a prisoner would be allowed to return to their group. sabotage. is he some kind of sleeper agent? but like, unknowingly?? and what about the memory that popped up while he was looking at the other shiro? and HOW is there another shiro? this is so fucking confusing. but, and this could also just be a change in artstyle, he looks different to me? why does his face look so weird🧍‍♀️

LOOK AT THIS MAN. THAT IS NOT SHIRO

not to mention, shiro's return causes some issues within the team. for one, there's not enough lions for everyone. i didn't think that was a huge deal, but obviously it's a little strange for someone like shiro to not be doing anything. and if he did get black back, what does that mean for keith? or lance? or allura? they've all been displaced. on top of that, there's now a conflicting power dynamic between shiro and keith since shiro is used to doling out orders, even though keith is the one leading them now.

special mention for another klance moment:

even with all the leadership confusion, i think it's important that lance chose keith to talk to about his concerns for the team. he views keith as their leader, which is insane(!) given that shiro is his personal hero/idol. also the fact that keith has been his rival up to this point, and here lance is offering to step down from the team (which he's obviously fought so hard to be a part of and holds a lot of pride for!!) and better yet, keith thinks this is CRAZY. "what are you talking about?" the inflection in his voice?? he literally can't believe lance would step down. voltron without lance? it's unthinkable. i think it's obvious that lance is still doubtful, so keith connects with him the only way he knows how: by getting on lance's level. "leave the math to pidge."

AND THEN THEY BOTH SMILE AT EACH OTHERBKANJKCLFJLWA

for cohesiveness sake, i'll be referring to honerva as haggar, considering that's what she goes by now.

the finale for this season really surprised me! i wasn't expecting to get a comprehensive history on alfor's era, but i'm not complaining. i can't believe that zarkon and haggar (the witch, that's her name!!) are MARRIED?? that's freaking crazy. and they didn't even remember???

what i found interesting is how their experimentation with quintessence affected them, both after they "died" and came back to life, and even before that. by the second half of the episode, the toll haggar's work had on her was obvious. she was clearly going crazy, suffering from malnutrition, and passed out after alfor argued with them and left. i could be looking into it too much, but i'm wondering if it had been affecting haggar for longer than that. when zarkon first met her, she seemed kind, almost sweet. definitely capable and incredibly smart, but she had a soft disposition. years later, when alfor has allura and zarkon and haggar are married, she's lost any sign of a smile and doesn't seem to care for pleasantries or idle chitchat. her responses are clipped and noncommittal, unless it's pertaining to her work. i think that was the first sign. the whole situation is just so horrific.

i'm also just realizing, does this mean lotor is the son of haggar and zarkon?? IS HE HALF ALTEAN???

another small detail i wanted to mention before i finish this off:

is this the same cat?? it's either the same species or it's the actual same cat from alfor's era. i just thought it was interesting that he was included and, if it is the same cat, he's really fucking old LMFAO

OP blatantly lies about Aang and just doesn’t understand or remember his character. For one the show NEVER uses his age as an excuse for his actions. His age is only really brought up in the context that he has so much pressure thrust upon him as the Avatar, something no 12 year old should be put through.

Aang is genuinely a kindhearted person, but whenever he does do something wrong, he’s either called out for it, apologizes or at the very least realizes his mistake. When he hides the letter from Hakoda, Sokka is pissed and Katara is disappointed, Aang doesn’t try to justify what he did, he knows it was wrong and accepts the consequences. When he burns Katara he swears off firebending, he feels remorse over giving into negativity and hatred when Appa was stolen and bottles up his emotions. In EIP he clearly realizes kissing Katara was stupid and the latter is rightfully annoyed.

The whole point of the show is Aang taking responsibility and actively seeking to save the world, which he does. He grows up and faces many challenges, in The Storm, he says

“I’m done dwelling on the past. I can't make guesses about what would have turned out if I hadn't run away. I'm here now and I'm going to make the most out of it”.

That’s precisely what Aang does during the series.

“Aang tries to push his own ideals on other people, and gets frustrated when they don't agree. But Ezran understands and acknowledges that people are in pain. He knows peace doesn't come easy which is why he uses his position to take the first steps.”

I am so sick of this notion that Aang tries to push his ideas on people. I know what episode they’re referring to, and Aang never tried to force his ideals on Katara. He actively acknowledges that Katara is in pain.

“Wait! Stop! I do understand. You're feeling unbelievable pain and rage. How do think I felt about the sandbenders when they stole Appa? How do you think I felt about the Fire Nation when I found out what happened to my people?”

He knows that peace doesn’t come easy, he urges Katara to face the killer, she doesn’t forgive him like Aang expected her to, but Aang takes no issue with this, he’s just proud she didn’t give into her hatred and chose to forgive Zuko, who need I mention, Aang had taken the first step by offering him friendship and saving his life.

The thing is, I and many other don’t take issue with criticism regarding Aang, for example I wish he was shown apologizing to Katara in EIP and I wish his conflict about killing Ozai was set up earlier. All Anti-Aang criticisms essentially have no merit to them, this one in particular actively fails to understand character and makes up elements that were never at play, the stuff they say Aang didn’t do, he actually did, you’d have to be blind not to notice.

Everyone in the Bridgerton family knew by now well the personality of the eldest son, even the lucky lady who agreed to become his wife taking the title of Viscountess but that did not mean she tolerated it.

Her husband Anthony could be sweet, protective, a true gentleman but at the same time also competitive, annoying and stubborn; according to him everything was on his shoulders, which had been true since Edmund's (the father's) death, but there was no need to be so closed-minded and dedicated to work because if not you would become frustrated and exactly what happened one evening.

The newly married couple got along well, they loved each other and enjoyed each other's company but there were times when there were small quarrels that did not turn into something serious since Y/n's personality was able to let it be and calm the situation down before the situation  escalated but to everything there is a limit, even to the viscountess's patience.

It happened shortly after dinner, they had enjoyed a family meal and she had retreated to their bedroom, returning downstairs only when she realized that Anthony was still not joining her.

This was not expected, Anthony should not have let the comment slip from his mouth even if it was a confidential conversation with his siblings, but as one can well see from the considerable amount of children Violet Bridgerton had with Edmund Bridgerton, nothing remained a confidential conversation in that house; for that reason an argument also began that evening but it did not end as the Viscount expected because this time his wife's patience reached a limit and although they had moved to their rooms she refused to calm the situation and ignore again but answered in the same tone, letting out of her lips all the things she had been thinking and holding in for several months leaving Anthony silent for a few moments but still angry.

He had no chance to respond because as soon as Y/n finished screaming she grabbed a pillow and headed for another room, locking herself in there.

The Viscount wanted to follow her but realized that maybe it was better if he let her sleep wherever she preferred for that night since the next morning everything would be back to the way it was or so he thought.

The next morning there were no words exchanged between the two of them, Y/n just had breakfast with her husband's family while she ignored him completely refusing to talk to him, infuriating Anthony who followed her into the kitchen where she had moved and stopped his anger which turned to guilt when he saw her wiping away tears.

Apparently yesterday's words had hurt her more than the gentleman thought, it was not his intention and he did not really mean them rather he actually claimed the opposite but at that moment it had seemed right to say it to win the argument.

The silent treatment continued throughout the day, there were attempts by the viscount to try to apologize or talk to his wife but she continued with that punishment that caused Anthony to break down in the evening.

He needed to put things right as soon as possible, which is why he locked himself in his office and only came out when he was sure he had everything ready, after which he went to the rooms where his viscountess had decided to spend the night again and knocked on the door while waiting.

No one answered but he did not allow himself to be demoralized and began to recite the mediocre poem he had attempted to write in his office, waiting for a response, which there was as Y/n opened the door to the room shortly after, looking at him completely serious.

Anthony continued with his courtship for three more days before she gave in completely by forgiving him and going back to sleep in his arms at night, gladly accepting their first heir also as a way of proving to Anthony that she could be a great mother even though she might be childish at times, thus proving to him that his claim of the now-forgotten quarrel was completely false but Anthony didn't need to have proof to realize that.

He loved his Viscountess and would have done anything for her, even wooing her all week long despite the fact that they were already married, just to see that smile on her sweet lips or a giggle come out of her gorgeous mouth, her love-filled eyes directed only at him and her body asleep or awake in his arms.

You want me to get canceled so bad-- If I speak-- But idk, I guess I'll say the controversial opinions I can say publicly without a bunch of people coming at me!

Zo$an is a bit... Overrated? And by overrated I mean extremely/annoyingly overrated. I like the ship and its canon dynamic but I think at least 80% of the fandom portrays them in a very mischaracterized way. Not to say that... The ship is literally everywhere and the shippers always look for every little thing to prove they're canon, even if the "proof" has literally nothing to do with them. It's not that I don't enjoy the ship (although I must admit I prefer other dynamics a lot more) I just can't stand shippers that go to extremes. It's funny because I think Zo$an's dynamic is way more interesting and romantic in canon than it will ever be in the fandom. It's a bit sad, ngl. I liked them a lot at first but it got so tiring and now I am pretty exhausted from seeing it everywhere. The people force it to be more than it is when the canon is already pretty fucking great.

Adding to the Zo$san thing. I think that relationship would only work if Luffy is there somehow but it wouldn't last a day without him in the relationship. Unless there's like, a ton of character development most of these people don't make them go through.

One Piece Film Z is my worst enemy. It's such a boring movie. The only good thing is the soundtrack and maybe the suits but God watching that was torture.

Boa hate is uhhhh weird. I mean, I get why the joke about her being in love with Luffy might be annoying, but I think most of you need to learn to understand that Oda's sense of humor is sometimes a bit too exaggerated (and not funny) and it has basically nothing to do with the actual canon dynamics between characters. Boa likes Luffy because he's one of the first men who has ever treated her right, so of course she confuses that feeling with love. And of course, yeah, it isn't canon. Whatever. Just read between the lines, maybe? And also, stop using words like "pedo" to describe her because using that term so lightly about 1) a fictional character and 2) somebody who's clearly not a pedo is fucked up. Lmao. Once again complaining about Pudding hate and saying that it's stupid. I won't overanalyze because I always do it with her, but the only reason people hate her is for misogynistic reasons and because they're babying Sanji. Evil male characters are okay and hot and very traumatized but the second it's a woman she's the most evilest person ever! Because God forbid they make mistakes! Suddenly their character development isn't valid because they hurt their babygirl!

Now that we're talking about my dearest Pudding. Not tagging anybody of course, but I saw this post with so many interactions of people agreeing about Sanji considering violence as a sign of love which??? Doesn't make sense at all?? OP said it was because he couldn't tell the difference between love/abuse because of his family, but that's just... Not accurate. That could only happen if they had manipulated him into thinking abuse is a type of love, but he had healthy love growing up. Even when he was with the Vinsmokes (Sora and Reiju, I love you). And yet OP said Sanji considered Pudding's behavior flirting (wrong) and that's why he let her attack him (nope) and that it was proof of Zo$an. And okay, it's not a hugely popular theory, but a lot of people agreed with it and it bothered me a lot because it's both out of character and also using Pudding (complex female character) once again to try and prove the canon of a ship (that doesn't have anything to do with WCI either???). It just bothers me. People can perceive the story however they want but... Y'know.

OPLA isn't that good. Or good at all? I only like it because I like the cast and it's funny seeing my blorbos irl. But the script is simple and dull and just stupid most of the time. The characters are either simplified, mischaracterized, or forgotten. And tbh most of the shots are very awful and could be a lot better. The directing is also nonexistent. It's 6/10 and 3 of those points are because both the Zolu and the cast.

Apparently this is a very common theory about Nami's origins, but, uh, I don't think we need to know? What else do you need to know about her? People say she's a lost princess or something like that as if we didn't have a lost princess already (Sanji ily). Repeating the same plot would be boring and underwhelming, but also? It'd be extremely useless for the plot and it'd go against everything about Nami's story and the way Luffy reacts to it.

Luffy isn't canon aroace. In fact, the reasoning people use for him being "coded" is the same Oda uses for Zoro too and Zoro is almost never portrayed as the "idiot who doesn't know what sex is" the way Luffy often is. If you're calling Luffy canon aroace for what Oda said about him being focused on adventures, the same goes for Zoro being focused on his dream. They could be coded arospec but there's nothing confirmed and the constant discourse about it is stupid. Attacking others because of their ships just because you don't agree with them and saying it's wrong using our identity to do it is very fucked up. Especially since most of the time people complaining aren't even aroace. The only reason people do it (attacking others saying they can't ship Luffy and that it's "weird" and "wrong") is that they infantilize Luffy/Don't want him getting in between their ships (<- aroace person writing this) (also, it's very ableist since people agree on Luffy also being neurodivergent coded and treating him like a kid bc of that but this isn't about that now).

Somehow this is very common. Some fucking how. I can't believe I have to say this. I'm tired of people blaming Usopp for what happened in Water 7. Or in general hating Usopp. Actually, he's one of the best-written characters in the whole show and he's so underappreciated it's so frustrating.

Sanji's perv jokes are annoying af and we all know that, but people who hate the character and consider him a red flag for that are missing the point completely. The point being "Oda exaggerates jokes to an annoying extent and most of the time they don't even reflect the character". I understand they can make you uncomfortable (same here tbh) but reducing Sanji to only those jokes is a waste of his character. You need to take jokes less seriously.

If I see one of these "red flag OP boys" TikToks adding Law/Ace/Zoro/Sanji next to fucking Doffy I will riot. Also, stop adding Crocodile there. He's a mafioso, there's NO way he won't be a sweetheart to his lover.

Baron Omatsuri's artstyle and animation is amazing and it fits the plot and aesthetic of the movie perfectly and people saying it's ugly will forever bother me.

People reduce Nami to her "mean"/"sarcastic" personality a lot when she's quite literally one of the most kind-hearted characters of all. That being said, morally speaking she's probably one of the worst. I could explain how that works but I don't want to do it now, the point is-- Let the girl be sweet instead of making her mean all the time. And also, let her be mean and selfish without making it her entire personality. There's something called "balance".

Film Red was kind of bad. Like, the songs are amazing (thanks, Ado) but the ending is awful and the plot is very meh. I'm only here for Uta and Shanks but the rest of the characters are just useless. I do appreciate Sanji's hair in the movie, though.

Just because you hate a male character, don't mean you're all for female characters. That very same person could hate female characters, too, but choose to "try to save face".

I hate it when people go about hating female characters and act as if they are always the bad ones or if they do wrong they should be constantly bashed for it but if they're "goody-goodies" they're Mary-Sues and annoying, yet love male characters for what they hate female characters for.

The problem lies with the gender. If you're going to hate or love a character, their gender should be the last thing you consider.

Yes, their gender plays into their story... sometimes. But it's not what should only be what you acknowledge from that character to hate or love about them.

Okay, what if someone doesn't find Bakugou annoying? That doesn't mean that person don't like female characters. I don't find Bakugou annoying and I also happen to really adore Miruko, a female character, who people tend to compare to Bakugou. (Which I funnily enough, I find her having more common with Midoriya.)

My question is, if Bakugou was a girl, would they still hate him (her, in this case) or would they switch up and be like "how dare you call her annoying"!

I don't find Megumi useless. In fact, really thinking about, good or bad, Megumi is somehow useful to somebody in the story directly and indirectly. I just felt like that person really just wanted to throw him in there. At the same time, Miwa, who I have seen people call useless (herself being one of them, baby girl, you're not), I also don't find useless. She actually is one of my favorites of JJK, I adore her. SHE IS DOING HER BEST!!

I can't speak on Sanji since I'm not that knowledgeable in One Piece.

But what I noticed is that OP chose to use Bakugou and Megumi as examples for the simple fact they know in recent times, people tend to already hate on those characters. They chose those characters because they're playing into people hating on those characters to agree with them. Megumi and Bakugou are also very popular and liked characters. They're wanting attention to that post to rile people up. Slick, that is slick but very childish as fuck.

I would say that's why they chose Sanji, too. I am aware some people don't like Sanji (for his behavior towards women, I believe, I don't know. My OP followers and mutuals I'm sure you can correct me on that) and he happens to also have fans.

So again, OP (original poster) chose those specific characters to draw attention and cause chaos. They don't really care for female characters.

Each to their own, though I would like to add that it isn't "manipulative gaslighting" to see certain characters and their interactions through queercoded lenses and talk about it so much. I understand op's pov about how some stsg are annoying and send death threats to people who just want to have fun and ship gojo with whichever character they want because at the end of the day they're all fictional!! Let people think however they want and ship whoever they wish to!! But this argument also coexists with let stsg shippers make theories and art and memes and have fun without shitting on them so much just because you think it isn't canon. Fandom interactions are what makes a fandom, and fandom is a backbone of the series, I am sorry but that's the truth! You cannot separate fandom and the manga but sure you can choose not to interact or look away if it isn't what you like. And yes it's not canon but if a person chooses to view their interactions through queercoded lenses it's on them and you don't have any say in that. The artists and writers who take these characters base their art/fics around them are doing so because they love it, it can be delusional for you but that's how fandoms work, you take the characters and the interactions you like and choose to add onto that and it's fun!! Most fandoms do this, why do you think there are so many fix it, time travel, hurt-comfort fics? Sure it might get annoying because that's the most prevalent and loud part of this fandom and yes I agree shoko didn't get enough screentime and gege really fumbled with her (let's be honest he fumbled with all the potential his female characters had) but there are still some of us who root for them and wish to see more of her but thinking that just having more interactions of the trio would somehow "force" us to focus on "her dynamic with other characters in a meaningful way" as an argument against how that'd lessen the focus on ship is honestly very dumb. We have people dissecting the single panels of geto/shoko and gojo/shoko interactions, we have pages of thesis on "i was there too" panel, we have people writing and wondering about how everything effected her and we have art of her with both of them together, upon that if we had more of the trio the fandom would've simply shifted their focus on the trio+the ship, neither is going to lessen the focus on other. Her presence wouldn't take away but rather add more and fleshen out more personalities and quirks which inevitably would've led to more stsg content, just think about it. At the end of the day people who feel strongly about certain topics will continue to feel them and a stranger on internet stating their opinions isn't going to persuade them to do the otherwise easily, so think what you will!

Pumpkin Spice

Doflamingo should know better than going to a coffee shop. He wouldn’t have normally, but his ‘coffee machine’ broke after spilling a coffee all over him. Now his office was in the middle of being cleaned up and he forgot where the metal coffee machine was. So he was left to go to a shop for a caffeinated beverage.

Walking into the tiny shop, he was hit with a warm nutty smell. Looking around the place seemed to lean into the idea of luxury. With dark brown leather chairs and sleek white tables. Walls in a dark charcoal gray, with dark wood accents. The accents matched the leather chairs, making the whole thing look more cohesive. The floor looked to be a recycled wood, with the variation in wood grain. It was stained to have a slightly lighter color of brown than the chairs. All in all, not a bad place. Though he would have liked more color. Like a pink flamingo on the empty wall. Yeah, that would really draw the eye to it.

Other than the fact there were a bunch of people here, it wasn’t that bad. He didn’t want to wait in line, but he also didn’t want to get back to his office yet. A line was a great reason to stay a bit longer. So he let it slide.

“Hello. What can I help you with today?” The barista said, smiling at him. Doflamingo never met a more blinding smile. The boy looked to be able 16 years old. With a small scar on his left cheek.

“Pumpkin spice latte.” Doflamingo said, trying not to look at the smile. How does someone get to be so bright?

“Pump lat! Got it.” The boy cheered.

“Huh? No- “Doflamingo said, but the boy walked away from him. He heard a sigh from behind him. Turning around, he saw the most beautiful person ever. Even with the scar across his face, Doflamingo couldn’t think of a more beautiful person.

He glared a little back at Doflamingo. Which only made him prettier. “AH! DAD!” the boy called.

“Luffy, what is that drink?” the man asked, pointing to Doflamingo's drink.

The boy looked down then up and smiled, “Pump Lat!”

“It’s supposed to be a pump spicy lat.” The man said, sounding a little like he was speaking a whole other language for a moment.

“OH! ops.” The boy turned and ran off. Making a new drink.

“Sorry about him.” The man said, crossing his arms. “I thought him getting a job would help him learn to listen more.”

“Well, I’m sure he’ll get the hang of it.” Doflamingo said, happy for the chance to talk with the beauty. It wasn’t often that he met someone as beautiful as this.

“Here you go!” Luffy said, giving the drink over.

Doflamingo waited a moment to pay. He wouldn’t have bothered waiting, but he didn’t want the boy’s father to be mad at him later. Not when he wasn’t done talking to him. The boy seemed lost at why he was still standing there. Even going as far as to tilt his head. “How much will it be?” Doflamingo asked.

“Hm oh it’s free.” Luffy said, and he wanted to tell the boy that wasn’t how things worked. But the loud sigh behind him told him that the father was already going to do that.

“Go,” the man said, rubbing the bridge of his nose with his fingers.

Doflamingo looked around to see people watching. The younger ones looking at the barista. The older ones looking at the father. Things began clicking in his head. The reason that this shop was filled with people. Why they were busy even with a barista that couldn’t get your order right?

He wanted to stay too, but his phone chimed. It is his family, Pika. They finished cleaning up and now he could go back. Not that he wanted to. Well, he could come back again. Plus, it was annoying seeing all these people watching what was going to be his.

After that it was easy to show up at the cafe. Some days they had more people, other days they were just waiting for the father to show up. Doflamingo would drink his coffee using the method the boy noticed last time. Calling his drink spicy was not something he agreed with, but whatever it took to get it right.

When the father showed up again, he listened to Doflamingo order and was shocked. “You order like that now?” He asked.

Doflamingo knew this was his chance. His opening to talk with the man and was not going to let others mess it up. “I do. I have children that have their own needs, too. It helps to speak in their language. Plus, it gets me the right drink. Mr… I never got your name.”

“Crocodile. Well, I’m glad that you are getting the right drink,” Crocodile said, looking away from him.

“Nice to meet you, Crocodile. Would you like to sit and chat for a bit? Maybe this job isn’t suited for your son, but there could be others. If you tell me more, I can find a place that might suit him more.”

Crocodile looked at him with little to no trust. It wasn’t like he didn’t that people came here to see them. It was part of the reason he didn’t want Luffy closing alone. Even if one of his friends had to come pick him up. Luffy couldn’t be left here for something to happen. “What are you-“

“I have a few connections that might help, is all. You don’t have to take me up on it. But, personally, I wouldn’t mind having a barista that could get orders right the first time.”

“You think you can help?” Crocodile asked, crossing his arms.

If there was anything about Doflamingo, it was he was confident. He would find Luffy a place that he belonged easily. It wouldn’t even be hard for him to do so. “I know I can. For the price of one dinner with you.”

What set abuse allegations did Rachel Bilson brush off?

Here's a rough timeline... sorry I went maybe deeper into detail than you were expecting

Mischa to E! on May 14, 2021: "[...] sort of general bullying from some of the men on set that kind of felt really shitty. But, you know, I also loved the show and had to build up my own walls and ways of getting around dealing with that and the fame that was thrust specifically at me. Just dealing with like the amount of invasion I was having in my personal life, I just felt very unprotected, I guess is the best way to put it.”

Within I want to say a week or two, Rachel and Melinda are asked about Mischa's interview on their podcast (or Danny Pellegrino's, it really doesn't matter, it was uploaded as part of the show podcast for 106) and they both say they never saw bullying on set. And they both extend an invitation to MB to come on their pod to explain herself? It's maddening.

RB says, trying to be funny, "I mean come on, clearly she was having fun. I mean, this episode she’s just making out with Ben McKenzie. What could be so wrong? And listening to Rooney.”

And because we know now that Ben and Mischa dated during s1, that's extra salt in the wound. Rachel of all people was aware of their saga, even if it was 20 years ago. As if dating someone and listening to live music..... means there was no mistreatment?

So then the show's mysterious entities speak to Page Six on June 2, 2021, probably mad that Mischa's interview is now costing them money because the podcast purports the show experience to be sunshine and rainbows and that Mischa herself was the problem, not them.

Their set source (I repeat, this is a 20 year old show with a random set source talking to Page Six) says, “So now she wants to go say that she was bullied,” the source continued. “It wasn’t that she was bullied. People didn’t appreciate waiting for hours for her to show up.”

The source also added that Barton — who played Marissa Cooper until she exited the series in Season 3 — had a momager who was “annoying.”

“It was a mess,” the source sniffed.

And that's its own POS mess. They also try to throw MB's mother under the bus in the book by saying she...... advocated for her daughter? By working as her manager and being on set? Nuala is on my shit list for a 1000 reasons and none of them are because she was on set advocating for her child/client. They really thought they did something with this Page Six hit job.

But Mischa responded to it with this kickass statement, "There was a lot going on. Whether I was late or not doesn’t excuse certain behavior from individuals in powerful positions. Everyone experiences things differently and where I acknowledge some of my past behavior may not have been helpful in certain instances, I will tell my truth when I feel ready.”

Then on June 11, 2021, Mischa published this op-ed in Harper's Bazaar UK.

There's radio silence on the issue until Adam Brody appears on the podcast for 126 in November 2021 and the pod women tell him (poorly, I may add) about the E interview from May. He says he didn't see any bullying but that he rarely worked with MB. Says he feels good about his own behavior with her. He does say that set is not a protective environment and several other nice things about her that put him in my good books forever.

Then there's true radio silence until Mischa finally agrees to be on the podcast during a weekend fandom convention she attends with Melinda and Tate in August 2022. They film the pod ep in December 2022 and it's posted in January 2023. None of the bullying allegations are discussed.

The allegations are also never mentioned in the celebratory book that is published in November 2023.

MB is asked about on-set bullying on CHD in February this year and in her answer mentions backtalk with some people behind the scenes, and brings up friction with guest stars.

Since then, Mischa has posted photos on IG that Rachel has commented on and Mischa replied to one of them in kind so I'd say things between them are... decent.

I think you can also block posts containing certain phrases?/gen but also I can understand that when hc's mix into/flood a certain tag without the additional tag to block you from seeing it, it can get frustrating and hard to create your own experience.

Note to everyone else that isn't the OP: To those who agree with OP's post (I know OP's intention isn't for this to happen, I can understand getting annoyed because they aren't able to see the content they want to usually) it's not okay to target/ harass certain creators that you think OP is talking about, it's just not on.

But overall OP does make a good point of tumblr etiquette: some of us want to be able to have our feed specific to what we want but it's hard to do so without the additional tag that we can't block so we don't have to see certain posts. You can still use the tags that you normally use but the additional tag is very useful for those of us who aren't so eager for the AU's and HC's.

In regards of the first sentence, I actually didn't know that. It could indeed be useful for very specific sentences, but I can't filter very general words because I could miss posts on female characters that I like. Anyway, I still believe that a tag would be in order. Ive been told that one has already been coined, and I hope that people will use it, since apparently the blogs on that trend took it personal (for what I've been told, I don't go stalking them), then, perhaps many of them won't be willing to use it out of spite.

About the second topic, I did not made these posts for others to go harassing anyone. Again, it was not some petty callout thing, and I did not implied anything different from what I wrote. No, if you (general) out there agree with me, don't go harassing users, instead you could reblog my requests in a leveled manner so that it gets taken into account.

The Strawhat answer to the question is, very clearly, Luffy for favorite, he is... everything I adore in an anime protagonist. He is goofy and filled with love and fully unhinged and feral if it's about helping his friends. Also ace coded to hell and back.

Favorite female Strawhat is Vivi YES SHE WILL FOREVER BE A STRAWHAT QUITTING DOESN'T MEAN YOU NO LONGER COUNT. I will love her forever, I miss her everyday, the Reverie giving her back to me, even if not with the Strawhats, actually gave me life.

The non-Strawhat answers would be uuuh so I'm gonna say two boys here and it counts because it is kind of a "passing of the torch". My favorite was always Ace. And then they took Ace away from me just as they introduced Law and Ace's death was when I really fell for Law as a character because him being there for Luffy meant the world to me. So, pre Marine Ford Arc it's Ace, post Marine Ford Arc it's Law.

Favorite non-Strawhat female character goes to Perona so hard I ADORE her she is so fun, she is the perfect woman, she is Zoro's annoying little sister, she needs to be in more episodes. Whenever Perona and their dad Mihawk show up, I SQUEAL in delight. After the Strawhats, the Pastel Goth Family is my favorite platonic dynamic of the show (I am So Sorry Shanks-Luffy, but have you considered: if you marry Mihawk you could both be dads to three disasters together!! Okay I think I am amending my answer from the other ask if I ever end up writing for OP it's gonna be a LawLu fic where Shanks and Mihawk are married and where Zoro gets to be protective big brother and Perona weird creepy stepsister).

What I would want to change... Honestly, there is one thing I did hate and it was Momonosuke becoming leader of a fucking country at age eight. That was unhinged. Aging his body up to make him look like an adult didn't give him the years of experience and maturity he would need for that. That arc should have FULLY ended with his older, adult sister becoming leader, as she has been trained in etiquette and also knows their country because she lived in it for the past twenty years. That was so uselessly patriarchal.

Also, shout-out to Yamato not leaving with them. If I had any say on the matter, my boy would be a full Strawhat right now, getting to come full circle after Ace offered to take him, for him to now get to go with Ace's brother would have been poetic especially after Oda-san did let him and Luffy talk about it and them basically agreeing that he should join the crew like don't give me hope and don't pull through. I do have faith he will join later, but... you see... I want to see it now.

"Soft confirmed lesbian" it was a deleted tweet from one writer that no other writers corroborated, it's not any sort of confirmation at all, and chances are valve probably made him delete the tweet because it was misinfo.

it's also uncomfortable that you refer to it as "straight shipping" when (if I'm telling right from the current influx of Sc*utP*uling posts in the tags rn) the person in question headcanons both P*uling and Sc*ut as bisexual, and while I can somewhat agree with the concern of it attracting the wrong people, there were better and less biphobic ways to express that.

In defense of me saying "Soft confirmed lesbian" sorry for feeding off the scraps that get thrown to me. I didn't know he deleted the tweet either. Also we don't really have any proof one way or the other valve being the ones who made him delete it, i remember him getting a bit of harassment from it back in the day so it could also simply been because of that. (sorry ik thats a big nitpick but like there are other reasons lol) Also saying that it has no weight because none of the other writers said anything about it doesn't really make the tweet more or less proof. Once again I picked my wording carefully, i referred to it as a soft confirmation exactly because he was the only writer to say it. And her being a lesbian doesn't show up solidly in any cannon content. This is like a dumbledore is gay situation but in my opinion less shitty.

And I referred to it as "straight shipping" as that was what the original discourse was called. As sc*ut/p*uling was a very popular straight ship in the tf2 fandom when i first joined, expiration date making it even bigger than it already was. So jay saying he wrote miss p as a lesbian was kind of a big deal and a lot of lesbian fans took it very seriously (myself included for a while). So of course there was a lot of arguing and drama over it. Which kinda tainted the whole ship for me. And seeing the discourse get revived live on my dash with only input from sc*ut/p*uling shippers who were regurgitating the same arguements I and i'm sure other have heard before without any voices from people who HC miss p as a lesbian was annoying so I complained.

TLDR i don't really care one way or another about sc*ut/p*uling it's just a ship and it isn't hurting anyone. I personally just think its kinda mid and the discourse surrounding it is annoying.

Once again I am sorry I didn't mean for my post to come across that way, I was simply frustrated to see a pretty watered down version of the same discourse that been happening on here for years.
