Begin Again.
Sneak peek: Reader got out of a relationship about eight months ago and was sure love was meant to burn and break and end…but this particular Wednesday made her believe that maybe, just maybe, she could begin again with someone new.

REQUESTS ARE OPEN - not edited - please be kind. Requests are open and feedback is welcome if it's constructive!
Warnings: My blog is 18+, minors DNI, implied age gap (kinda?), anxiety, self-consciousness, Past abusive relationship, explicit LANGUAGE, no use of y/n, mention of Jack, mention of Hotch’s previous relationship, story is guided by begin again by Taylor Swift (lyrics aren’t all directly used), mention of a love of the Beatles. I think that’s all, let me know if I missed any!
I do not consent to having my work translated or reposted to any other site. That being said I do not own the characters portrayed in this story.
You glanced at yourself in the mirror, second guessing your outfit choice. Were the heels too much? Would he comment on them, would he be okay with them? Maybe you should switch to flats, they would be a safer choice.
“Babe seriously. Do you have to wear heels?” He berated you. “These are the shoes she told us to wear. I can’t switch shoes I’m a bridesmaid and were all supposed to look uniform.” You explained. “Really? You’re going to make me look so fucking stupid. Who cares if she chose those, just tell her the didn’t fit or the clasp broke or something.” “I’m not doing that.” You said. “You’re so difficult. Just change your shoes, it’s not a big deal. I just don’t want to look like a fucking idiot because my girlfriend is towering over me.” He continued.
You could remember multiple arguments that went that way. Him yelling at you for dressing how you wanted, so you didn’t. He started picking out your clothes and you complied, because that was easier than having him tear you down.
You smoothed your hands over your clothes and made your way out the door. The drive to the Café was a short one. You parked and made your way across the street, ready to go in and get a table for the two of you, fully expecting to have beaten him there.
To your surprise, when you opened the door, there he was. Aaron stood from his seat and walked toward you. You met him halfway and he pulled you into a gentle embrace. You didn’t fail to notice how he still towered over you despite your heels,
“Hi! It’s so good to see you.” He said pulling out your chair.
“Oh, thank you! It’s good to see you too, I was really glad you called.” You smiled as Aaron returned to his seat across from you.
“Yeah, sorry that it’s a random Wednesday, but with my job it makes it so hard and with us being free today I wanted to take the chance and spend it with you.” Aaron explained.
“I am happy to be here! The day doesn’t matter.” You shot Aaron a shy smile.
“You look beautiful by the way.”
You couldn’t help but blush at Aaron’s words. He had been so kind and gentle with you since you had started seeing one another. You had only gone on a few dates, but things were really good. The two of you had agreed to take things slow, having both gotten out of relationships not too long ago and Aaron also had Jack to think about. You guys had texted and talked on the phone quite a bit. He had gone as far as to call you late one night after a particularly rough case.
The two of you were currently talking about how your respective weeks have gone. Aaron had just gotten back from a case (hence why you were on your date now) and you had just completed a pretty big project at work. In the midst of your conversation, the song playing in the café changed to I Will by the Beatles, one of your favorite songs.
“Oh my god I love this song!” You gushed, quietly humming along.
“You like the Beatles?” Aaron asked.
“I love them! I have every one of their albums on vinyl.” You blushed.
“I don’t think I have ever met a woman with the same level of Beatles obsession as my own.” Aaron smiled at you in admiration.
The two of you ate while quietly enjoying the music and one another’s company.
“For if I ever saw you, I didn’t catch your name. But it never really mattered, I will always feel the same. Love you forever and forever, love you with all my hear- “ “Jesus, can you stop fucking singing that song?” He huffed. “Babe, it’s a really good song, I wish you would just listen to the words.” “I don’t give a shit about your stupid song. I don’t get it anyway.” He shut you down.
Aaron and you continued your conversation upon finishing your meal. You were in pure bliss with how amazing things were going. Aaron was attentive and gave you his full attention. He nodded and responded when it was needed. He also held conversation so well, he gave just enough information about himself in combination with asking you about yourself.
Another thing that had you swooning over Aaron was the fact that he had thrown his head back in laughter a few times throughout your conversation. You truly couldn’t wrap your head around how lucky you had been to have met Aaron. Your ex had never found your sense of humor funny, and it was nice to be in the presence of someone who appreciated it.
“Can you not make jokes like that when we’re in front of my friends? Like seriously what the fuck was that?” He demanded. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean anything by it. It was just a joke. Your friends laughed.” You shrugged. “It wasn’t even funny. They just laughed out of pity to save you from the embarrassment of nobody understanding your stupid ass jokes.” He rolled his eyes at you as he stormed off.
Aaron checked his watch and noticed how late it was getting. He looked into your eyes and smiled, neither one of you wanting this day to end. But he needed to go pick up Jack from soccer practice.
“Can I walk you to your car?” Aaron asked.
“That would be great.” You smiled, wrapping your scarf around your neck.
As you made your way over to your car, you thought about talking to Aaron about how your ex had truly broken you, and that part of the reason you’d requested to take things so slowly is because you had to relearn how to accept love from someone. The last eight months had allowed you time to fall in love with yourself again, but loving someone else was a whole new obstacle you were working through.
Aaron’s voice pulled you out of your thoughts, he had been talking about how he wanted to introduce you to Jack, not now, but in the near future. He had come up with a nice way to do so.
“So, Jack and I always watch Elf and the Grinch around Christmas, I think it could be nice if one night you came over and watched one of them with us, you know. It gives us a few more weeks to really solidify things between us and by then we will have been seeing each other for four months. What do you say?” Aaron looked hopefully at you.
“Only if it’s the Jim Carrey Grinch movie. That new animated one is cute and all, but it doesn’t hold a candle to the live action.” You smiled back at him.
“Of course, it’s the Jim Carrey one. We take things very seriously at our house.” Aaron smirked at you.
Aaron and you shared a laugh, and then he brushed his hand over your cheek, leaned in, and kissed you gently. December couldn’t come fast enough. Things with your ex had really messed you up, and he’d left you believing that love wasn’t meant to flourish, just burn, and break and end.
But on a Wednesday, in a Café you watched it begin again.

John was being honest when he described himself as dead lazy, and so having a partner and bff like Paul was perfect for him since Paul is such a workaholic and can hardly sit still.
John needed a push, someone who could carefully and patiently nudge and drive him along, or at least light the fire under his butt, because if not he could become listless, lethargic, and stuck. I'd say this was pretty obvious during the 70s.
Paul was perfectly suited for John in this, like in so many other ways too. Paul seemed not at all bothered, but quite comfortable with this position in their relationship, as far as I can tell. I'm thinking back to Paul making his way to John's house in Kenwood, that he'd often have to wake John up, this involving cups of tea or coffee. Maybe they did some writing and playing, maybe they didn't, as Paul said it was his way to get out of London.
Or, how Paul, John, and Ringo (sans George) had to do a Christmas recording, and how Paul, the whole time, was gently and patiently urging John on to just do it.
I think they're a perfect encapsulation of their relationship, these moments and memories caught.
They both gave each other a harmless need to compete, and to accomplish, together. I mean I'm sure there were plenty of times Paul's patience wore thin with John, and I'm sure John was very intentional in needling that, but insofar that I can tell, Paul really did have exceedingly, almost near limitless patience and love for John as both a partner and a friend.
John needed that, he needed someone like Paul, who could truly and unapologetically put up with him, and love him, and still want to work with him every day, day and night.
Even when the band broke up, the divorce finalized, and John was both loving and hating Paul in tandem for the next ten years... Paul was desperate to write with John again, and John was desperate just to write, you see.
PLAYBOY: But wasn’t it clear that John wanted only to work with Yoko?
LINDA: No. I know that Paul was desperate to write with John again. And I know John was desperate to write … desperate. People thought, Well, he’s taking care of Sean, he’s a house-husband and all that, but he wasn’t happy. He couldn’t write and it drove him crazy. And Paul could have helped him—easily.”
— Linda on John and Paul in the late 70’s and 1980. (X)
While Yoko was definitely driven and career oriented, that didn't necessarily mean she influenced, inspired, or drove John on herself. Not in the way Paul did. I think that's pretty evident, considering he subsumed himself to "house husband", only occasionally baking bread before even that lost his interest, in which he'd keep to lazing about, sleeping hours on end, and mindlessly watching tv.
John was no house husband, the role he took with Yoko was pretty far removed from his potential, even with Cynthia it wasn't that bad.
With Paul, John even thought of writing musicals, and he apparently wasn't even that fond of musicals—but if Paul wanted to do it, like so many other things, then why couldn't John? If John had Paul, then he could do just about anything and everything, really.
“MM: In the early days, did John and Paul really write together?
MARTIN: Yes, but they also wrote separately. “Please Please Me” and “From Me To You” and “I Want To Hold Your Hand” were undoubtedly collaborative efforts. They’d sit down and literally construct the songs together. I can’t remember the first individual songs, although obviously even before I met them they were writing individually, but if you go through them you can hear which of them are John-oriented and which are Paul-oriented. “Yesterday” is obviously Paul, and that’s an interesting point because it was the first time we ever used anyone other than Beatles on a record. There was no one on that record but Paul and a string quartet.
MM: Did you notice them growing apart, developing distinct personalities?
MARTIN: Paul and John had their own identifiable styles: Paul was the syrupy one and John was the hard one. But the rift wasn’t there then. They were really a unit.
MM: Could you tell me what you think of what each one has done individually since the last Beatles record?
MARTIN: I have great admiration for George. He’s done tremendously because it’s a sort of devotion to duty as far as he’s concerned. We forced him into being a loner, I guess … he could never collaborate with anybody in his writing and therefore when the split came he had more strength because he was forced to be alone. He learned an awful lot about producing, studio techniques, and so on, so that he was able … obviously, any one of them had the power - because they had the money - to spend as much time in the recording studio as they liked, and I know that when George made his album he spent six months doing nothing but overdubbing his own voice 16 times and producing his album. To have the tenacity to do that in itself is something of an achievement, but to go along and actually produce good sounds and good music and good lyrics with it is tremendous. I’m full of admiration for that.
I think the other two have suffered by comparison, because they’ve each indulged themselves in their own way. John’s become more obvious in a way … “Power To The People” is a rehash of “Give Peace A Chance,” and it isn’t really very good. It doesn’t have the intensity that John’s capable of. Paul, similarly with his first album … it was nice enough, but very much a home-made affair, and very much a little family affair. I don’t think he ever really rated it as being as important as the stuff he’d done before.
I don’t think Linda is a substitute for John Lennon, any more than Yoko is a substitute for Paul McCartney.”
— George Martin, Melody Maker Interview, 1971. (X)
John was very partner orientated. He needed someone, whether he liked it or not, and he needed them to need him too.
He didn't like being a husband, but he liked having a wife, someone there for him constantly, who loves him and will care for him. John had Cynthia for that, at the start. John had Pete as his partner in crime, bestest of mates, when they were just kids.
Then, John had Paul, and turns out, Paul just about covered all of that, too, and plus it. A best friend, a coconspirator, a wife, a collaborator, his partner, his rival and his greatest ally and muse. Cherry on top, Paul needed John just as badly, madly. Maybe John never saw it that way, maybe that was why he had his fear, his insecurity that Paul never really needed him as much as John needed him.
“IRVIN: Back then people were very keen on knowing who the leader of the group was…
GEORGE M.: Yes, I was. When I first auditioned them I said, “Who’s going to be the leader, is it John or Paul?” Such an odd couple really, because they were diferent and yet very similar, both had big egos, both very good songwriters, but they needed each other like mad.
IRVIN: Did they really like each other? It wasn’t just a competitive partnership.
GEORGE M.: Oh no, they loved each other! They were brothers, and like brothers they pissed each other off quite a lot. John could be maddening at times, Paul can be very bossy and even more maddening and George would get fed up with both of them. But they did love each other and adored what the other did and had an incredible bond.
Paul always took inspiration from John, especially in his lyric-writing. ‘Eleanor Rigby’, for example, wouldn’t have happened without John’s influence. Paul wrote all of it but John’s influence was there and similarly John was knocked out by the freshness Paul brought to melodies and harmonies. He learnt from Paul how to put in the odd chord that choked you up a bit.”
— George Martin, interview w/ Jim Irvin for Mojo: Sir George Martin: The Mojo interview. (March, 2007) (X)
I think I've gone off tangent, but the point of this was to say, John was dead lazy, vastly intelligent and talented, but very prone to sloth. Paul was a rather perfect stopper to that. He could whip John up, get him moving, shaking, ever patient and ever loving, just the right enough of mean, bitchy and stubborn, smart and quick tongued, to meet John toe-to-toe. Like a house on fire these two fired each other up, talk about all-consuming and intense.
They were pretty perfectly matched for each other.
“It was like a tug of war. Imagine two people pulling on a rope, smiling at each other and pulling all the time with all their might. The tension between the two of them made for the bond.”
— George Martin on Lennon/McCartney (X)

any introductory beatles (just mclennon tbh) fics? 🤲
LORD OKAYYYYY i'll try not to go too crazy and just stick to my alltime faves.....
first of all anything @forthlin (milaway on ao3) has written literally ever. i am going to eat them one day. they are the yin to my yang and also the best writer this fandom has ever seeeeen. um. anyway! like i said, all their fics. but i'd Particularly rec your lucky break which is an au where john is a 30 something rockstar and paul is an up and coming musician in the 70s. and well! what can i say about this fic except it's sooo in character, hot, and also the reason i started talking to the best person on this earth so whatever
also completelyyyyy selfish but hey i only wrote half so i'm counting it but we also have an ongoing series: i want you, i need you, i love you where they're writing john's povs and i'm writing paul's! it's just basically our take on their timeline & relationship, but the third installment's going to be a fix-it
now onto me not being gay or selfish here's some of my favorites that i think are Must Reads.
Boy, You've Been A Naughty Girl
explicit. 49k. John makes Paul a bet. Paul takes him up on it. Crossdressing shenanigans and angst ensue, and ~feelings come out in the wash. 1961. rec notes: okay look. this one is just a classic. it's great. esp love it bc it's right up my alley with its "paul isn't an oblivious moron" takes. also.... hot.
I Still Miss Someone/I Know That I Miss You but I Don't Know Where I Stand
explicit. 64k. It's 1976 and Paul keeps showing up on John's doorstep with a guitar. Eventually John turns him away and Paul goes off to sulk in his hotel room the night before his flight from New York. Based on real events. rec notes: aaaaugh this one haunts me there's one scene i think of literally every time "i still miss someone" by johnny cash comes on, which is one of my fave songs. it's not a fix-it, but it's so so so good for the Vibes of their 70s relationship :(
Like Love, The Archers Are Blind
explicit. 22k. He wants to push Stuart out of the way, not even with a violent yank of his collar like he sometimes imagines. Just to melt into his place like butter sliding in a pan. Have it be an effortless breath of fresh air when John looks up at him and sees it all reflected back in his eyes. It’s you. rec notes: this one is just... soft. and so good for a snapshot of the hamburg vibe.
i was a younger man then (now) (post hoc)
mature. 27k. John’s twelve when a bloke appears from a flaming pie and says, “From this day forward you are Beatles with an ‘a.’” The bloke is Paul. Or: paul and john meet at all ages and eras and john is the time-traveler’s wife the way only john lennon can be rec notes: literally my favorite mclennon fic everrrrrr ever ever. other than your lucky break. this is everything. this is it. like it nails their dynamic even though it's a magical au. it explores their relationship sooooo fucking well. i think about it like weekly.
John My Beloved
explicit. 33k. They've always loved each other, in their own way… rec notes: OTHER FAVORITE EVER it broke my heart it changed my fucking lifeeeee it changed my world. major character death warning but fuck man. i think about this literally constantly. this fic haunts me. i think it changed me. i had to stare at a wall for like 30 minutes after finishing it. i got choked up.
two of us (burning matches)
explicit. 6k. It won't stop raining. Paul doesn't know what his feelings are doing. John's practising his right swing. Somewhere along the way, they fuse together. rec notes: this one is just cuuuute and perfect for the Early Days Vibes.
Grow Old With Me
explicit. 8k. fix-it. Paul breaks his arm, and John panics. rec notes: SOOOO FUCKING SWEET. this is what they deserved and i like to live here in my mind when the reality of what actually happened gets to be too much.
1967
mature. 11k. canon-divergent au. In 1961, John Lennon and Paul McCartney left abruptly on a trip to Spain, via France. In 1967, they finally come home to face the consequences. rec notes: the style of this one is INSANE. it's so unique and i love it sososososo much. also the plot? is super unique???? basically it's an au where they never came home from paris and it's.... so fucking good. i love the way it looks at their dynamic like fuck. it's just perfect.
Way Up Top
explicit. 12k. Falling out of the sky, together. | Snapshots of the Beatles in Greece, July 1967 rec notes: LOVE this one for its portrayal of all non-mclennon parties. it fleshes everyone out, especially jane and cyn, in ways a lot of fics just skip. just sooo well written and melancholic in a great way i think.
When You Are Young They Assume You Know Nothing
mature. 26k. But Paul knows John. There’s something about Paris, though... rec notes: THE paris fic to me. this is soooo good and so fucking soft and it just. augh. it killed me.
a brief interruption, a slight malfunction
explicit. 12k. During the rooftop concert, John remembers why he used to find Paul so irresistible after a show. One more time won't hurt, right? rec notes: perfect breakup era fic. my rec notes on ao3 were "this was devastating :)" so. god. this fucked me up.
aaand honorary mentions to the two non-mclennon fics i've read but !
Knocking at Your Door
george/paul. explicit. 6k. It's easy enough, this time, to lean in and touch their lips together. A firm press of his mouth to Paul's; first at the corner, then right on the centre of his yielding, expressive lower lip. Paul and George: a few meetings over thirty-six years. rec notes: the opening sentence to this made me sick to my stomach and then the rest of the fic destroyed me permanently
Where The Sailors Go
ringo/paul. explicit. 5k. A drunken German mistakes Paul, alone in Hamburg's red light district, for a rentboy. Ringo, the Hurricanes' terrifyingly adult drummer, intervenes. Things happen, but Paul can't stop thinking about John. rec notes: PRINGOOOOO. with background mclennon. this was so real to me. also in the same universe as this fic is (It's Just) Another Day which is a transfem paul mclennon fic that rooocked my world. it's still a wip but holy fuck. made me rearrange the way i see paul tbh.

hi! I'm new to the beatles lore and I've been trying to catch up on an insane level of information for weeks. it's been fun but also heartbreaking 💔💔 anyways, I wanted to ask a couple of questions if that's ok? for example, I keep seeing this narrative that john was using yoko as some sort of weapon against paul... what was john trying to achieve by that I mean where does this idea even come from? according to this, john was hurting paul on purpose while he was singing him love songs in the studio asking him to be partners again (as in songwriting creative partners) WHAT WOULD JOHN ACHIEVE DOING THAT? also it sounds very one sided like paul is the most innocent in the break up eventho he was the one who came up with a secret album and a lawsuit. I don't know what to think. before knowing them I used to think lennon was in love and on drugs so he got so annoying to the point that he broke up the band but now...
Hi there! Welcome to the fandom! don't worry about feeling overwhelmed at first there is a LOT to take in.
I want to say, I do get the feeling you are somewhat mixing things up here, though I don't particularly blame you for being confused. (if not then sorry! just want to clarify as much as I can)
Tedious as it sounds, I find keeping a timeline in my mind (ideally, accurate to the month) helpful to provide some clarity regarding the breakup era specifically, so the period of 1968-1971. John's studio taunting you're referring to would have happened between mid '68 and mid '69, but Paul worked on his solo album (what I presume you meant by "his secret album", though it wasn't all that secret – John had already released solo music of his own by that point*) in late '69 and early '70. He filed a lawsuit against the others in late '70.
*I think you're conflating the album itself with the fact that, along with the release of McCartney (said album), Paul "surprise revealed" he had quit the band to the public, which the other band members, especially John, were not impressed with.
That being said, the events of the breakup are still convoluted at best, even to "seasoned" fans, I'd say. One of my main pieces of advice I can provide as someone who's been doing this for more than 3 years is get comfortable with not knowing things and with some of the actors involved doing something fundamentally irrational sometimes. They're humans, they don't always make sense and they won't always be forthcoming about why they behaved the way they did.
Which brings me to the narratives you mention: I say this as nicely as possible, but sometimes people want to tell themselves the best story rather than the most truthful one. It's more important to some that John is taunting Paul out of some twisted form of love than why specifically.
To answer your question regarding where this particular idea comes from, I would say: Paul has indicated that he felt John replaced him with Yoko (in whatever way he meant by that – some think it's sexual, some it's about creative partnership, or simply as a best friend); John's behaviour clearly and drastically shifted for the worse in mid '68, which is around the time he got together with Yoko, left his family, and started doing heroin; footage from Get Back shows John both all over Yoko and trying to reach out to Paul periodically.
There's probably more, but I don't know if there's much point in getting into the weeds of it right now. My point is: it's not the only valid theory, IMO, and probably not the whole truth if it is true, but it's not unfounded.
I think it may be a misstep to dismiss a theory because "what would John achieve by that?" Again, people are not always acting in a way that strictly makes sense, especially not people with the issues John struggled with. Some people might say John was testing Paul, trying to make him fight for him. Some might say John had an outright sadistic streak. Others that he was too out of it to notice the pain he was inflicting on others. I think it could very easily be a mix of all three. When dealing with human emotions, I personally think it's a mistake to assume things are simple and straightforward, which is why a lot of tinhattery turns me off. It very often feels like a blanket-statement self-confirming axiom, rather than a truly thoughtful and multifaceted argument.
My most condensed version of events would be: John became incredibly difficult to work with in multiple ways (including but not limited to bringing Yoko to the studio) by mid '68; Paul, for the most part, tried to accomodate him, to diminishing returns, while having his own longterm relationship fall apart and being completely in over his head running a brandnew business; Paul deals with distress by burying himself in work, the other three do not – this leads to further conflict, along with issues over creative control; the band decide they need a new manager type to help them out with their new business and provide the guidance they haven't had since Brian died; cue John wanting Klein and only Klein and massively distrusting Paul's "nepo" choice of Eastman + apparently not trusting Paul's belief that Klein was bad news; extreme resentment over money issues which are incredibly underrated by the fandom because at their core they are boring, emotionally, ensue; John decides he's "over" the band and tells the others he's out; Paul is destroyed over this (and everything that led up to it), spends months spiraling and recording his album; wanting to get this all out of the way, Paul finally breaks down and admits he's leaving the Beatles to the world and to the band itself, even though he had asked John to stay quiet about his own quitting the band months earlier; John (understandably, IMO, though I don't blame Paul exactly – this is what I mean by not everything makes perfect sense) assumes Paul is using the band breakup for PR and gets a hell of a lot angrier than he already is about the money stuff; John undergoes primal therapy which opens up about 43273289635298 wounds; John does an interview in which he spills his guts and tears down almost everyone in his life except Yoko; meanwhile more financial issues. I cannot overstate that those matter too, tumblr is just not a place where finance peeps hang out; Paul is getting more and more fed up with all of this and he, as a last resort, files a lawsuit to no longer be legally tied to the others.
I for the most part left out George and Ringo here* and I'm writing off memory here without re-checking sources, so take what I say with a massive grain of salt. My main point is that this shit is complicated and don't let people tell you it isn't.
*I'm of the opinion that John and Paul are at the center of the breakup, but they also aren't the be-all, end-all of it. But because in the end George and Ringo fell "in line" with John and you didn't ask about them, I decided to mostly leave them out.

I’m still obsessed with Ken Womack deciding a cartoon strip character was Paul on 9 May 1969.
Mainly because it seems like a misinterpretation of an image based on a misrepresentation of the situation?
Here’s what Womack wrote thanks to @muzaktomyears.
To summarise: Womack says the other three cornered Paul, insisting he appoint Klein. Paul started to lose him cool when the others accused him of creating needless roadblocks and wanting to appoint his relatives, Paul refused to sign, there’s a quote from Paul saying that was the night we broke The Beatles and that it was the liberty bell moment and… that’s it, end of chapter with some musing about Mal’s heartbreak and the pic of ‘Paul’ (i.e. Maisie) framed like this:
But… that seems a pretty lopsided view of how it went???
According to You Never Give Me Your Money, on 8 May the other three had signed with Klein without Paul’s knowledge (though George tried to tell him but he’d changed his phone number). The contract appointed ABKCO ‘exclusive business manager’ to Apple Corps Ltd ‘on behalf of The Beatles and The Beatles Group of Companies’. They knew at this point that Paul might not sign and it still needed to be ratified by the Apple board of directors (I.e. The Beatles).
On 9 May they gathered to do LIB overdubs and the other three tried to strong arm Paul into signing with Klein, bullying him and growing furious with him:
You Never Give Me Your Money p. 130
[Note: Womack included a quote from Paul about the 15% stuff but not the bullied and ganged up on bit.]
Rolling Stone
Edit to add one more:
And In The End, p. 113
So in the above we have:
‘They really bullied me and ganged up on me’
‘The others grew furious, but McCartney held his ground’
‘They said “Oh, fuck off!” and they all stormed off’
‘Lennon, Harrison and Starkey lost their cool and unleashed an unsparing verbal assault on McCartney leaving him bruised and bleeding on the canvas’
(These are selective quotes so this post doesn’t get too long - more context here which is also the source for the below paragraph. Also the quotes are all Paul’s POV - I’d like to find what the others have said about this day).
John then called Klein, who was on his way to the airport, and Klein came back, lied to Paul about needing approval from the board of ABKCO to try and pressure him into signing and, according to Glyn Johns “… all that equipment was not enough to prevent me hearing Paul McCartney defend himself from Allen Klein’s attempt at bullying him into submission. It was extremely unpleasant to witness”.
[Note: Womack doesn’t actually mention Klein being there]
Paul continued to refuse but the other three carried on anyway. John and George signed the document ratifying their decision to appoint ABKCO exclusive business manager to Apple Corps Ltd. The unanimous agreement rule which The Beatles had always had was resoundingly broken (though they’d already broken it on 21 March 1969 when they appointed Klein against Paul’s wishes the first time).
The full page from You Never Give Me Your Money is here but here’s the really pertinent section:
The signing of this resolution is surely the Liberty Bell moment and Womack doesn’t mention it, nor the fact that they’d previous made unanimous decisions.
So turning back to the cartoon - I imagine Paul was furious (YNGMYM mentions his rage on the next page in the context of drumming for Steve Miller), but from the sources above it seems that there were four other people who’d be equally good candidates for someone going apeshit and screaming at the top of their lungs.
Also, I don’t even know if Mal was there for these bits of unpleasantness (he’s not mentioned in YNGMYM).
Here’s Womack’s sources by the way:
Womack’s source for the events of the day is Anthology p. 326. I went and looked it up. It’s all from Paul and Neil’s PoV and says the same as above - the closest thing is Paul says about anger is “there was a big argument and they all left, leaving me at the studio”. (Here free on the internet archive). The fact that it is all from Paul’s PoV suggests JGR haven’t spoken about this day but I could be wrong on that.
That twitter link is Paul saying that was the day the liberty bell cracked.
And here are my sources:

Is YNGMYM wrong about the day or is it just that no one thinks it specifically matters?)

#this feels like stupid Paul girl nit picking but there’s enough shit where he’s the main one at fault#this day isn’t one of them#also disclaimer: maybe I’ve got all of this wrong#sorry for this Ken#you seem very nice in podcast interviews

Hi, I'm a fan of you, your posts here and how and what you write about McLennon. I'd like to know when you became a fan of the Beatles and how did you end up here. How and when did you become a shipper/truther. I am too, sh't I'm deep in. And ofcourse it'd be interesting to know your views on this messed up ship. I especially like that you, like me, see that it wasn't one sided. I'm totally crazy about them, The Beatles, solo/post Beatle and Well, I truly love all four of them, but because I'm really a Ringo fan girl, I adore him to this day, he's so handsome still and lovely, in his very Ringo way I understand why they ll got along with him so well but that's why I haven't noticed this I think, but now I'm obsessed and I can't unsee it even if I try. I'm still quite bit shy about it so that's why I write anonymously If you don't wanna answer I understand and it's ok. I'm still a fan!
Hello there <3! Thanks for your question! I actually became a Beatles fan back in 2022. After I got into their music, I also became obsessed with their history and began researching a lot about how the band started, how they developed, and how they ended. But the thing was that I never really understood their whole breaukup thing. I always felt like there had to be more to their story than they were telling us. I saw an interview where they asked Paul about this, and he replied, "We had to find women, which we all sort of did." And I was like, What the hell is he talking about? (He also seemed a bit uneasy when answering the question). Then I read that John got married a week after Paul did, and I found that very odd. Then I watched Get Back, and their chemistry onscreen was shocking. The way they would look at each other, the inside jokes, the flirting, and the, "it's like you and me are lovers" bit all made me think that there must have been something going on between these two. Then I read some excerpts from Philip Norman's book, John Lennon: The Life, which confirmed that John was indeed attracted to Paul, although it said that Paul did not reciprocate his feelings (he was supposedly an "inmmobable heterosexual"). So I thought that maybe the problem was that John wanted to have more than a friendship with Paul and that Paul rejected him. I held this view for quite some time, until I started reading a lot about Paul. The way he talks about John—as well as the way he always brings up him out of nowhere in interviews—made me realize that it's extremely unlikely that Paul didn't also have romantic feelings for John. I recently made a compilation of insane things Paul has said about John, and there is no way someone would say all of this unless they are in love. Besides, it's been more than 40 years since John's death, and Paul admitted that he still hasn't gotten over it. If this was a mere friendship, I don't think he would have been that emotionally attached to John throughout all these years. Also, if John had been in love with Paul all along, it's very unlikely that he would have waited in 1967 to make a move.
Finally, by total chance, I became acquainted with someone who has recently been in contact with a few people who were once close to the Beatles, and they all have said that they knew there was something going on between John and Paul based on many things they had seen. And the things they said all matched up perfectly with things I have read from other sources. So that pretty much confirmed it for me. However, I still don't know for sure why John and Paul broke up, but I have my theories. It's possible that John wanted something more open and serious, and Paul, who is very conscious of their public image, didn't want that. When John said, "It's a plus that your best friend can also hold you without…" and then he didn't complete the sentence, maybe he meant that it's good that his best friend and him could hold hands without the world creating a whole drama over it. Paul was always very worried about what the public might think, so that definitely caused tensions between him and John, who was much more bold. Paul wasn't ready for that. Also, Paul wanted a normal family life, which is something John said during an interview when he was asked about the differences between him and Paul that caused their relationship to sour. He said, “Paul always wanted a family life. Linda knows this and has given it to him. The complete family life”. This is an odd answer because why would Paul wanting a "complete family life" damage their relationship? It would only make sense because, obviously, with John, he couldn't have a traditional family life. All this is speculation, but it's what I have in mind so far, based on all the information I have compiled.
I apologize that this got too long, but I wanted to to give you a thorough answer. Thanks again for your question. I'm glad you are a fan of my posts. It means a lot to me <3

Re: John being demi - don’t you think it’s possible he had sex because that’s what was expected of him? His age, lifestyle, etc. Especially because of his self-destructive tendencies and not always acting on how he truly feels. Or acting in a way that doesn’t express how he truly feels - i.e. Barcelona. He could have easily slept with Yoko early on, with her throwing herself at him but it wasn’t until correspondence and a deeper connection did he engage sexually. Not to mention him not wanting to have sex with men later in life because he couldn’t find one he connected with in that way. To me even the lyric “My love will turn you on” - is revealing.
If you want to interpret John Lennon as demisexual then you certainly can and I can't and won't stop you. But since you're asking me directly my answer is just a flat "no." John was sexually attracted to women so he slept with them. He was conventional that way. He was also hooking up with Yoko soon after Indica, he did not wait until the night he took LSD with her and recorded the sex tape.
You need to remember the cultural climate John existed in. It was "expected" of John to get married to a woman, settle down with her, have children, hold a steady uninspiring job, and then die at 70 with a gold pocket watch in his waistcoat without ever standing out from the crowd or doing anything that would express his individuality and personal needs. These were the stultifying expectations John grew up under and he hated it.
The Beatles kept their orgies secret because it would have destroyed them as a band if it got out that they were nailing groupies, this is the exact OPPOSITE of it being "expected" of them to have sex with lots of women.
The performative aspect was the groupies expectation of John to act like Beatle John while he was thrusting. That doesn't mean John disliked it or was carrying out an act he found distasteful for the sake of expectations. And remember: John kept posters of Bridget Bardot and Elvis Presley in his bedroom at Mendips because he was jerkin' it to their images. He only had a parasocial fanboy relationship with them but he was deeply sexually attracted to both. This is the opposite of demisexuality which requires a personal connection of some kind.
I talked about this in the McLennon server this afternoon so I'll just repost what I said in there:
Leggy「IT'S A GUNDAM 」 — Today at 5:20 PM john was just so laden with PTSD and agoraphobia
like Shotton talks about how John started turtling up once he got Kenwood, the hibernation years were a long time coming. but he was so deeply separated from other people even as a child and that just got worse and worse over time.
like sex was a way for John to connect with human beings and I wonder if it was the only way he could. that's not to say he couldn't fall in love if he met people but he had to keep his connections shallow as a matter of survival, he wasn't able to form those relationships easily and when he did connect to others it was because they pursued him.
Cynthia was the aggressor in her relationship with John, he liked her but he didn't pay attention to her until she dyed her hair blonde to catch his eye. Paul was super down bad. Yoko stalked him.
Otherwise even as a teenager John's relationships were strictly about sex, not romantic love, and he wasn't interested in romantic love until Paul and art school came into his life.
***
This is the exact opposite of demisexuality. John could form personal relationships and he could fall in love with people but when he did, he seemed to back away from them sexually. If we count Paul as one of John's lovers (and I do) then we see this happen to where John broke it off with Paul to pursue someone else physically (in this case Yoko.) John liked using sex as a way to connect with others but the moment genuine feelings got involved he got skittish. Note that he initially was planning to buy a house with May Pang but then he went back to Yoko when the Montauk plans began solidifying. John was certainly attracted to May Pang and he certainly had a personal connection with her but when that started getting a little too real and too deep, then he left her and would only hook up with her occasionally in controlled environments where he could ghost her easily afterwards.
The same thing happened with Yoko: after Sean was born, she and John stopped having sex and she sent him to the massage parlors to avoid dealing with him.
And don't forget how John's relationship with May Pang started: Yoko hired May Pang to be John's mistress. May was paid by Yoko to have sex with John and to keep him within Yoko's reach while they were in Los Angeles, what with Yoko's daily phone calls. May did fall in love with John but John knew that May was a business asset controlled by his wife and that she was being paid to never leave him. This was the foundation of their affection for each other. When May and John went back to New York and started looking for houses in Montauk, John opted to go back to Yoko for her smoking cure and came back ready to leave May Pang, aka the relationship with May Pang was becoming too real and too deeply rooted in actual Love (with that capital L) that meant May would no longer be forced to stay with John due to receiving a salary from Yoko Ono.
What seems to be more of a pattern in his life is that he was very wary of forming personal connections with others, when they did form it was because the second person pursued him vigorously, and then he had a saddening tendency to leave once his love with that second person began to develop into a deep, long lasting adult relationship. If anything, John seemed to use sex as a way to keep himself hidden and to stop forming connections with others because the moment he had sex with someone he could safely label them "disposable" which is exactly what he did with Paul and May despite his intense connections with both of them and the fact that he was sexually intimate with both of them.
John seemed to fear love and the responsibilities and ecstasies that it brings. This is not demisexuality as I understand it and I simply cannot agree with the assertion that John was demisexual.
#there is a McLennon aspect to all this but that would require an entire post of its own#john lennon#yoko ono#may pang#the beatles#beatles meta#my meta

so here’s part 2 of my james potter hcs bc this shitbag lives in my head rent free :))
(part 1 for those interested)
his prescription isn’t really heavy and he can technically get around without his glasses, but he gets really bad headaches if he doesn’t wear them
tried muggle contacts for a bit but got an eye infection after a month, went back to glasses permanently
can get really, really mean in the blink of an eye if he sees or hears something he doesn’t appreciate—something as innocent as feeling jealous or something as bad as blatant bigotry, doesn’t really matter. fandom may say that he was sirius’ moral compass but ohhh boy
“imagine sirius black having to reel you in” - overheard in the hospital wing by a random hufflepuff after a group of wannabe death eaters got hexed so badly for terrorising some muggleborn students they had to stay there for two days
can argue himself out of any sticky situation by being passionate and arrogant (like only getting a month’s worth of detention for hexing said group of wannabe death eaters into a two-day stay at the hospital wing)
did not relentlessly pursue lily, actually. he didn’t ask her out until their fifth year and stopped entirely after the slur-incident
did form a relentless (at times one-sided) rivalry that often went way too far with severus snape though, i’ll give you that
he’s got hazel eyes with a bit of green thank you
his nose isn’t longer than harry’s (he’s got a ‘hidung pesek’, like my mum would say). his nosebridge can’t hold up european glasses and it’s a struggle
sirius looks physically like his father which means james does, shamefully, find orion black handsome in a purely aesthetic way. he’ll take this tidbit to the grave with him though as sirius would have an aneurysm if he found out that james thinks orion is a bit of a dilf
james has tackled peter multiple times. most notably, that one time it was over the last digestive in the biscuit tin that hope lupin sent remus
peter broke his nose and james cried because he felt so bad
he’s got a dab hand at healing spells and sirius is good at cleaning spells so it was fine in the end
also ugly crier james 2k23. that man can WEEP
gives the BEST hugs. you’ll feel so safe. he just presses your face against his chest and you’ve got to take it, because it’ll relax your entire body
“it’s like i’ve been reborn” - peter pettigrew after The James Hug following the orange marmalade incident of 1975
will never talk about the orange marmalade incident of 1975 because peter asked him nicely
great secret keeper!! should’ve been his own secret keeper, actually!!
big beatles fan and really cringy about it: he even considers getting a mop top for a bit.
thinks george harrison looks like sirius (but not as handsome) and therefore george is his favourite
same james
ALSO he would be so flattered that some parts of this fandom see him as ATJ’s john lennon i swear lmao
would kill for sirius and has considered killing for sirius on multiple occasions
harry’s ‘trouble usually finds me’ gene comes from him and he has been face to face with acromantulas on multiple occasions purely by accident
harry’s ‘there’s no need to call me sir, professor’ gene is a mix of lily’s sass and james’ smart-assery. part of the reason jily started dating is bc they could match each other’s quips so well
good at practical magic with several seemingly random interests in the theoretical background of certain types of magic. will go off on a tangent on the Braach’s Sixteen Laws of Weight when someone offhandedly mentions a featherlight charm
created the runic sequences of the Map that ground the spellwork woven into the object to ambient magic all by himself and was SO proud of himself that severus was valid in saying james strutted around like he owned the place
human embodiment of the following emoticon= >:3

THIS WILL BE MY YEAR: EDDIE MUNSON
Part Two: The group minus the leader
Warnings: Mention of Previous Relationship, Possible Smut and NSFW Content in later parts
PREVIOUS PART
Audra left the plane with messy red hair in a ponytail. She was exhausted and had no energy to even mumble a thank you to the flight attendants. They did not mind, they could see the dark circles under her eyes. They also could not blame her as there was a crying baby right behind her followed by a child kicking the seat right behind her.
She scanned the baggage pick up area for her ride, she had not seen her uncle’s family in a while. In fact, she could not recall how long it has been. But from what she heard, Nancy is her age attending her last year of high school, so she will at least have someone to talk to.
“Audra Wheeler” A cardboard sign read. She walked closer to meet eyes with a blonde woman in her late thirties. She was accompanied by a man with glasses and a teenage boy with dark hair.
“Audra?” The women said.
“That’s what they call me.” With that statement followed a hug from the blondie.
“I am your Aunt Karen, this is Uncle Ted and your cousin Mike. Nancy is away on a trip with a couple friends so she could not make it. However, she will be back in a few days.”
“Nice to meet you all” Audra said. She will be living with a group of strangers so this will be interesting.
************************************************************************
Audra’s parents did not really say much about her uncle’s family. All she was told was that her uncle was a man in business and his wife stayed at home. They did not say much about her cousin’s Nancy and Mike, however, it may be due to the lack of knowledge on them.
She sat down at the table with her family for dinner. She could not recall the last time she had a home cooked meal, so it was a real treat. Her family was often out of town, so it was only her and her older sister who left their small town of Hannah, Alberta a couple of years back.
Aunt Karen was the first one who broke the silence. “So, Audra, do you have a boyfriend?”
Uncle Ted had glanced at his wife shaking his head “Karen, good way to break the ice.”
Audra shook her head “Nope, no boyfriend.” She never dated a guy, but she did have a girlfriend last summer. A cheerleader who hid their relationship at school until one night at a party, she walked in with her girlfriend with the captain of the football team. Relationships are the last thing on her mind.
“Shame, you will find someone here or in Harvard.” Aunt Karen smiled. “Nancy and Mike in a long-term relationship right now with Jonathan and El.”
“Way to talk about our love lives at the table “Mike muttered.
“She deserves to know; besides shouldn’t you be calling her now” Aunt Karen had commented.
Mike glanced at the clock and took one last bite of the fried chicken before standing up and dismissing himself from the table. “Ok, going to meet with the DND gang after this phone call. We are planning for our sessions this year.”
Audra’s eyes lit up as she smiled at Mike “There’s a DND club at Hawkins High?.”
Her Aunt and Uncle had looked at each other with a knowing look. They were going to have another geek in their household. Mike tried to restrain from immediately inviting her, knowing how his Dungeon Master can be.
“Really, you play DND.” Mike slipped the words out of his mouth.
“Yes, I do, I have for years actually, can run and play in sessions.” Audra said confidently.
Mike still was not sure, he decided to investigate her ability further “Can you show me your character sheets?”
************************************************************************
After dinner, Audra was shown her room by her Aunt Karen. It was the guest bedroom, but her aunt had decorated it nicely. Even with the short notice, the walls were painted neon blue with a few photos of bands hung up on the wall. Audra chuckled to herself at the posters: Bowie, Blondie, and Beatles. She appreciated the effort, but she will be fixing it up later with Sabbath, Kiss, Alice Cooper, Metallica, Judas Priest to name a few. However, she must admit that the black furniture had complimented the room well. She thanked her aunt, and she left the room and took some time to unpack.
Audra had so many characters that she could have picked to show him. However, in her new room, after his lengthy phone call with his girlfriend, Audra shown him her character known as “Thia Nova.” A wood elf druid with extensive knowledge on nature with the ability to shapeshift. Mike had taken interest in the character as he had examined the notes and a few other characters: Selene, Garnet, and Astrid. All the characters were intriguing to him, and he was heavily convinced she knew what she was talking about.
“You busy tonight?” Mike asked her, his dark eyes not leaving Astrid’s character sheet.
She shook her head. All she was going to do was unpack, which she did and watch tv. A night planning DND sounds better.
“Great, we can meet with Hellfire tonight. I have a feeling you will have a good relationship with them. We are meeting at the High School grounds.”
************************************************************************
It is safe to say that Mike was wrong.
Through the smell of pine by the school sign, there was a strong aura of uncertainty amongst the group of men, wearing their fall jackets. Yet nothing was as bitter as their glares at the new girl.
At first, the group was conflicted due to her profile and being fresh meat in Hawkins. Audra was a girl wearing a blouse with shorts and boots and had a full ride to Harvard. She liked DND, but it was questionable to them if she was good.
Then Mike had passed the binder of Audra’s DND character lore to Dustin, a close friend of his.
Each of the members took a moment to scan the notebook and appreciated the time and quality of each of Audra’s characters. They all smiled at Audra about her skills and ability to manage sessions, according to her notes.
“While she clearly can play and create sessions, I don’t think Eddie is going to be happy with us just inviting a new girl without him knowing.” Gareth, a senior wearing a red plaid shirt stated glancing at the other members.
“Eddie?” The name has not been mentioned amongst the group during their discussion while they were mumbling amongst themselves.
“He is considered as the leader of Hellfire, the DND group. Not a bad guitar player and lead vocalist as well for our band Corroded Coffin” Jeff, a senior wearing a Black Sabbath shirt spoke up.
Audra crossed her arms “Then where is he? If he is in charge, where is he?”
There was silence followed by another senior named Patrick coughing trying to hide the awkwardness of the situation. Gareth and Jeff had looked at each other, obviously trying to cover something up in front of Audra, Mike, Dustin, and Lucas.
“He had to take an extra work shift.” Jeff snapped his fingers. The younger kids seemed to have bought it, by Audra was cleverer than they thought. However, she dropped it for now.
“Cool” Lucas said, “Just as long as it doesn’t impact Basketball practice for future meet ups, we are good.”
“I think Eddie would be fine, she seems chill enough for our group.” Dustin stated with the older members nodding in agreeance.
“I am sure he will once he sees how skilled she is” Mike stated. “You have a spot at our table. I am sure everything will be fine.”
Audra was not even in classes yet and she had found a group of friends who can accept her, especially her prime interests. So, she thinks she will be ok.
With all the boys in agreeance to allow Audra to join Hellfire, they only hoped that Eddie would be as willing. They did not want to discourage her, but Eddie tended to not like people upfront, especially people who did not have the same look as his group did.
Audra was going to stick out like a sore thumb in the group. Especially with her clothing choice. The boys could see it now, Jason Carver trying to persuade her to come join to Jocks and Cheerleaders. But the group did not want to bring her to reality quite yet. She was new and they did not want to scare her off.
Mike, Dustin, Lucas, and Audra were going to head back after having a few sodas with the group, then the older members had cleared their throat.
“Hey Audra, we need help with some instruments at the hide out, think you could give us a hand?” Gareth rubbed the back of his neck “With Eddie working he probably won’t be able to give us a hand.”
The younger group members gestured that it was ok for Audra to meet them at home. She wanted to make a good impression. Especially, she was worried she would not get the chance to do this again.

Hi! Uhm...I wonder....About the lovely interests of Mojo Jojo and HIM. I mean...I know Mojo was in love with Mono Joko and it seems HIM loves Professor Utonium...but is that true? And they personally take this point clear to us, please?
I’ll answer your question about Him in particular but I’ll also use your ask as an opportunity for me to do a bit of a deep dive into Mojo and Him’s love lives, because……. why not? 😆
So we’ve definitely seen Mojo in love before/knows how he acts when he loves someone. He’s a romantic goofball and absolutely dotes on whoever he likes (which is freakin’ ADORABLE). And he absolutely only had eyes for Moko. You could make some sort of argument that it was for the bit and it was to parallel how the Beatles broke up IRL, but there’s also a whole comic written before that episode where we see Mojo sending in tapes to a dating agency ~for the ladies~. He then gets so desperate because the ladies are afraid of him that he ends up Frankensteining his own bride. So… take all that as you will when it comes to Mojo’s romantic preferences. 😆
Meanwhile, yes, Him definitely has shown, um, interest towards the Professor, which I think is hilarious and great. I think the biggest example of that is the big ol’ wet lick he drags across poor Professor’s cheek in Tough Love. However, did he do it just to antagonize the girls? Is it because he really does think the Prof is a hottie (like any sane person should)? We just don’t know. I feel like with Him being Him, you can see him going aaaaany which way romantically, but how he acts towards the Professor is, like, the only indication in the series of where his romantic interests may lie.
I know I mentioned my dislike of Mojo/Him earlier today, and I feel like I can’t not touch on it while on this subject, so I guess I’ll tack this on because I don’t think I ever explained why I don’t like it. As far as the whole ship between these two… I mean, I get why people ship them. Because, you know, ~they hugged~ that one time. 🙄 They’re both also evil, and people want those evil couple goals. So I get it. But to me, it feels uninspired and just… too obvious, I guess? No real thought behind it aside from surface level stuff like with PPG/RRB. CMC likes to claim Mojo has high respect for Him, and… yeah, Mojo called him “sir” for, uh, ONE EPISODE. Otherwise they’re rivals, often seen sniping at one another, calling each other stupid, maybe occasionally band together to try to defeat the PPGs, and in my perspective? I wouldn’t respect or even love anyone who was lazy enough to just outright steal my evil creations and recolor them (i.e. with the RRB).
That said, I feel like I have to always have a disclaimer whenever I talk about stuff like this, because there’s almost always one person who flips out and screams at me about how, “I can ship what I want!” Yes. I know. You absolutely can. Personally, per my reasoning above, I just don’t vibe with it. But, as evidenced by many things, fandom is an unstoppable force, and I’m not out to stop anything anyway. I just do not dig the thing.
…so, yeah, sorry I went off on a bit of a tangent, but I hope this answered your question! 🤣
#mojo jojo#him#powerpuff girls#ppg#file in my uhhhhhh notp list lol#this ask went off the rails I AM SORRY

[How far Paul pushes the discussion and the extent of what Brian reveals are both up to the author. Tone and any pairing involving the three also up to the author.]

Taylor Swift is being way to much overhyped that's the problem. They show her down on everyone's throat. She's not legendary just because she is popular and she has many fans.
Seriously, I can imagine NFL fans being tired of seing her face. I for the love of god can't imagine Football fans being fans of her music. She doesn't appeal to every generation and her music doesn't have long lasting impact. No matter how hard they try. It just isn't working.
The damn comparsions like Beatles, Madonna, Michael Jackson. Mostly Michael Jackson. And it's not even fans ( sometimes I wonder if they are her haters who set her up like this). It's also these trashy tabloids. " Oh she's like Michael Jackson." And then they fucking lie to make it seem like she broke one of his records to make it seem impressive. Like once they claimed that she broke the record of the highest crossing concert tour film. Which was previous hold by Michael with This is it. This is it wasn't even a concert tour. He died before he could do any show it was just a documentary. Or that she broke his record of selling the most in the 21 century in a year. This isn't impressive. He didn't even live like 9 years in this century. And he has only released one album during that time while he was still alive. How is that even? I swear...
And of course if you do comparsions like that. People have Standards. And when they see that she can't dance and is a mediocre performer they start dragging her. Well then of course these Swifties come in and say: " Well she is a singer not a dancer. " " She doesn't need to know how to dance. She's just having fun." Well newsflash if Michael Jackson (sometimes for no reason) is constantly being brought up to her name. Of course people are going to expect someone who can perform. As he literally was said to be the greatest entertainer of all time.
"She doesn't appeal to every generation and her music doesn't have long lasting impact. No matter how hard they try. It just isn't working."
This is absolutely true, anon, you are a pinnacle of wisdom.
I might not be the greatest fan of all of these artists you mentioned but they were/are legendary performers. It's almost blasphemous to compare Michael Jackson with her, because if you remove the numbers of tickets sold, people in concerts and the hype of the moment, what do you actually have?
A pop performer who can't perform because as you said, she can't dance and all instruments she holds just seem like adornments. She is basically supposed to be a doll on stage and she actually is, because the impact she causes on me is basically the same as an inanimate object.
Everyone is expecting a pop singer to be not only a singer, but a dancer, an actual entertainer. You can see even Blue Ivy, Beyoncé's daughter, puts a great effort in her dancing and her improvement is actually pretty visible. I find it insane that someone that has that amount of money can't do the bare minimum to actually perform her job decently.
"No, but she has been through stuff"
My sister in Christ, Michael Jackson had to deal with the fact he had to deal with traumas he would never get rid of due to his abusive father and being a black minority in a deeply racist country. Having to deal with break ups is not "being through stuff", it's just what a very average person has to deal with.
But I don't know, maybe we're just all wrong. At this point she can just take a big shit on stage and they will cry their eyes out for being disruptive.

Fucking Fuckery
Hi to all, As said when my computer broke "by magic" last Friday, I can't work on photo anymore (except with a camera ? Well there's also something - nevermind) nor post on sites with images that appear with ten levels of overexposure and all colors pale as an ass that hasn't seen the sun for 20 years on this fucking Hewlett Packard.
Artists working on Microsoft, if you have this problem and you keep these shitty comps, YOU have a problem. This is valid for galerists, museum staffs, art journalists, etc. Gates has created a sick world which is clearly NOT for us, in spite of his permanent "philanthropic" declarations - and this will take you to one of my last French texts about another "huge philanthrope". This computer stuff is literally unbearable as it's available - not available - I understand myself and the interested too. What is the panorama of my websites ?
-Instagram : Has been unavailable because of a technical problem since November 2 021. 500 followers lost, you know, when someone is not here anymore even if somewhere else, people act like that. I'd never think of doing this, but people are people. -YWAMag Fb : unavailable, as our shared Fb with Anne, which was largely used for the Fb Choice of the Day of the mag, since Anne's kidnapping (August 2 021). Yes she's free now, but the boxes are full of forced prostitution stuff and she refuses that I see this. -YWAMag Tumblr : unavailable since a technical change by Tumblr (last September). I don't know, as explained there, how to change the template that Anne had installed, and she's not able to do this for the moment. Anyway what will the mag be with about 50 of the best photographers of the mag having been clients of Anne as a forced prostitute, the gang's goal in this field being to destroy the mag ?
-Flickr : fine, just waiting for my computer to be gotten back -My Fb : writing, information, shared art, etc. Don't go there if you hate facts and are a collaborationnist with zero desire of getting out of your psychosis.
-Twitter or X : same as my personal Fb, though, not very used except on some periods as the current one, but always essential informations in several languages. Very few personal posts by me. Again, not interesting for collaborationnists.
-My Lens Culture : currently unfed but you have a part of my bio (half of the photo one), reduced by half by the staff without consent
-My Cargo Collective : a high level selection of my photo work, stopped ten years ago. I was more spectacular and accessible then.
Brilliant text about me by David Gibb Smeaton
-My Fine Art America : again, a collection (larger than the Cargo one) which is more spectacular than my latest production. Published between 2 013 and 2 014, for works (or photos, call them as you want, it doesn't matter) between 2 011 and 2 014, which is to say the start of my pro photo career.
The site is sale cheat - contact me for prints, not the site. Because, yes, I sell photos outside the exhibitions, I love and need it. -My YouTube : gathers a collection of the tunes broadcasted on my sites for years, currently about 700 songs or pieces. A single look by the shitheads who say I'd be "racist" and "anti-Semitic" to these collections should calm them - or not, we're speaking about fanatics -Our ISSUU : some of the mag's interviews, plus some before the mag - Graphic design Anne Pangolin Guéno under my supervising
Thus, this Tumblr, which is the only one technically available as long as I don't get my computer back (another technical reason linked to a mailbox), has become a writing one. I'm hoping to get it back, but when the fucking fuck ? And little by little put the texts on my main Tumblr so that this one is "lemmings' adapted". Indeed this 2nd Tumblr has for only goal to be a nice, ideas-free, truth-free cocoon for lemmings. I care for lemmings. They are nice. Or not. Basile Pesso, Land of Somewhere, 11 July 2 024 The Beatles, Get Back Modification 28/08/2 024 : 1. No forced prostitution, nothing of the kind. It was a strategy. The facts are about paedo-satanism, Anne having been hostage. I'll tell more later. 2. Lens Culture bio fine again now. As said in French on Fb a few days ago, thanks.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. As I said, I got the idea from another post that explains it better than me (but I can't remember who posted it). And also now that I think about it, I wouldn't say it's dangerous, but majorly stressful (as you said), and I don't think that's good for someone his age. Coming out in general can be really stressful and scary, even if it's private. And especially if he were to come out to the public, which I'm guessing is what that anon was talking about when they wondering why Paul hasn't come out yet if he really is bi/pan/queer etc, he has millions of fans with different thoughts and opinions. And I want to say that there's progress with accepting queer people and respecting them (and there is!), but at the same time, there's still a lot of hate and violence towards them. Hypothetically, if Paul comes out before, let's say, a tour, there could be a risk of some bigot in the audience seriously injuring him. And again, he's in his 80s, and who knows if he could heal from life-threatening injuries.
Stepping away from the potential danger of Paul coming out, I also think that he doesn't owe us or his fans anything about his sexuality/personal life. If he comes out, he comes out, and if he doesn't, then he doesn't. The Beatles didn't get a lot of privacy during their fame (and after the group broke up as well) and after years of dealing with that, I think Paul should have the choice to keep his sexuality private or not. As that other anon said, he said he's comfortable with his sexuality and if being comfortable with his sexuality means not coming out to the public, then so be it.
Extremely clear and well put response anon ! Definitely we’ve made great progress but as you’ve mentioned there is still much hatred and bigotry in the world, Especially with the older fans who would definitely have an opinion if Paul ever came came out. I just want Paul to be happy and healthy for the rest of his life, and if he wants to be private with that part of himself, then I’m more than happy for him.

I have a hard time with writing, only because I have so many ideas and thoughts, but getting them down in a grammatically correct way that is also readable is unbelievably hard. I envy the people that love to write, because I love to talk, love to share my ideas more than anything, but finding people who want to listen? Harder than it seems, so writing seems like the best answer right? I wish it were as easy as that, I just word vomit on a page and hope it's coherent enough to get my point across. I think that one day I will get good enough at writing that people will want to read and enjoy my writing. I have so many good ideas, and enough time on my hands to perfect a short novel. I just can't find it in myself to write well, and I am sitting here going "I think I am writing this Tumblr post well, so what will people think?". But as it seems, I still don't think it's good enough to share.
Sometimes I write things down in a diary and then leave it, but it's too much pressure, what if someone reads it and starts to not only judges me but also judges the writing. "That's not where a comma goes" they'd say.
I started writing my thoughts and feelings on paper, then trying the courage to burn them. I got scared of that too, I don't want to start a fire I reasoned. I held the matches up to the pages, the same matches that light my grandmas yahrzeit candles, it just didn't feel right, so I put the papers down and put away the matches. "Tomorrow I will do it" I said to myself.
The pages are still in a box I like to call "My shit box" where I keep all of the "shit" I don't know where to put. Inside said "shit box" are small weird glass animals (lol) that I got from my ex-therapist's office every time I went to see her. I later fired her for "being too empathetic" and then moved all of the animals from my desk into the sad repurposed shoe box. And Thus "the shit box" became as it is now.
Over the years it has started to accumulate, pictures I liked, but not enough to hang up, movie tickets I saved from a cancelled "date", old math homework that I got 100% on, "My kids might want to see this: I said to myself at 3AM while hurriedly cleaning my room because I saw a beatle in the corner of my room while trying to sleep. The box also has small knick knacks I found while "out and about", a leaf I thought looked perfect enough to save, a bottle cap that had slightly melted into the asphalt during the summer from hell, and a pair of earing that my grandma gave me for purim. "I saw these and thought of you" she said to me. They are ugly sparkly red white and blue giant studs that are possibly the last thing that I would ever wear, even after I got my ears re-piecered.
The earings themselves aren't what made me put them in there, but instead I put them in there because my grandmother is 80, and "She's going to die soon, keep everything she gives you as a memory". I think I only just realized truly, I don't really want her to die. I mean I never did want that or wish for it in the slightest. I just never really thought about it until she broke her hip, and started to "make the turn".
I made her paper flowers the other day. I used some old news papers (she still buys them every day and asks me to get them for her when the porch is icy) and cut them into separate flowery pieces on accident. I had originally been looking for something to cut, I had just found my good scissors and wanted to make something. I was going to use paper, but my grandmother had called me into her room a week prior to tell me "I worry so much about your generations paper usage" as if her generation didn't also use an outrageous amount of paper too, given that they didn't have computers for better or worse. Anyways, I used some news papers, stuff I assume was from a while ago because it had made its way under one of our three couches in a living room clearly designed for no more than 1. I started by taking the newspaper and making some paper snowflakes, because you know scissors and paper and fun and all that. But that slowly blossomed (lol) into paper flower heads. I stuck all the newly made "blooms" onto some already destroyed paperclips that I wrapped in a destroyed sock (curtousey of the last time I found my good scissors) and then put them all in an empty medication container that I then wrapped in stickers. I set this all in her room with a note that said "Thought you may enjoy some flowers that don't wilt" and left it at that. 2 days later she walks into my room and goes "did you make these for me?" "yes I did" "oh how nice", then over the next week she kept walking in and asking the same inquiry if I had made them or not. Sometimes she would compliment them and other times she would simply state how wasteful I had been. I realized then, I should start saving all of the moments I have with her. So now when I look into my "shit box" and see the ugly patriotic earings (I was born on July 4th and she takes that very seriously), I no longer see what a younger me would have seen "she doesn't know me that well" has a brand new meaning. I decided I no longer wanted to look at the earings she gave me, and dwell on the fact that I had indeed saved them for a reason, and instead started to sift through the box. Finding all of the letters I had written and meant to burn. "Maybe today is a better time, after all it just rained". So I pack up my papers under my arm and put away the "shit box" and head downstairs. I start my hunt for the matches forgetting why I didn't burn them the last time. I find the matches, but evidently I put them away again. "better save those for my grandmother" I say to myself, unaware of the truer meaning behind those words until now.
"oh" I say as I head back up the stairs.
"Maybe next time," I say as I put the letters back into the "shit box" pointedly avoiding eye contact with the earrings.
I sigh, and sit in my chair, and try to write another letter, that evidently, will never get burned.
