300 followers celebration
okay wtf guys im actually gonna cry :). thank y'all so much for all the love you have given me.
im gonna start by apologising because I have not been that active. i went and saw challengers, started watching ted lasso and got into professional cycling, and my exams are just about to finish and im gonna be honest i have been just reading fanfiction based on those. (because my ADHD hyperfixation has hit this point)
also small apology to the people waiting on the bachelor fic, i've rewritten the first chapter twice, but rest assured once i get the first chapter out of the way, the next few will come in quicker
But I am getting back into the hot men of f1, thank god, and initially this celebration was going to be closer to july, but here we are, and so this event will run a while.
Basically to explain it's an f1 x olympics!reader :) because i have a hyperfixation on the olympics
Rules:
Pick 1 letters, one for the person and one number for the reader's sport - i will then make a moodboard AND A small blurb :) (cause i need to get out of the writing slump)
my guidelines are here
i am only writing for the drivers and related people listed (but if you really want another driver, chuck it in my inbox and ill probably make it anyway)
this is only for moodboards and short blurbs, however my requests will remain open through the celebration so if you're inspired by this but want something else instead feel free to head to my inbox :)
please be patient - it may take me a few hours to do yours, but depending on how many requests I get, it could take a few days
please specify gender, else i'll probably make it gender neutral
for now no limit on how many requests 1 person can submit, but if i get overwhelmed I will
i will take description requests, face claim requests, blurb requests, country requests, whatever you want to specify BUT all I need is 1 letter, 1 number and a gender for reader :)
the event will close on the 11th of august (when the olympics end) (and also so i have a little bit of a time before a birthday celebration!)
NOW TO THE CELEBRATION:
PICK 1 LETTER - ONE FOR DRIVER
AND PICK 1 NUMBER - ONE FOR READER

Shadow of my past lover
Summary: Returning to your hometown is harder than you thought.
Pairing: Dean x Reader
Characters: Sam Winchester
Warnings: angst, mentions of cheating, flirty Dean, cocky Dean, sad reader, heartbreak, mentions of a break-up, a hint of fluff, tension
Divider by @firefly-graphicsâ
âHow long, Y/N? How long did you hide out there in the middle of nowhere?â Sam wraps you in a hug, almost crushing you. âItâs been too long if youâre asking me.â
âFifteen years, I think,â looking up at the tall man you canât hide the smile creep onto your lips. âYou grew like a weed, Winchester. If only I knew you would become a hot guy,â you grin, patting your friendâs cheek.
âDean will freak out,â you frown, and your body goes stiff when Sam, your best friend from childhood, mentions his brother. âStill mad at him? Will you ever tell me what happened back then? One day you just broke up. Everyone couldnât believe Dean was with that other girl. It was always you and him. I believed you would marry one day.â
âIt was a nice dream,â shrugging you give Sam a sad smile. âDean never told you why he broke up with me after the summer break that year?â
âNo,â Sam shakes his head, wondering what couldâve gotten between you and his big brother. âDean only told mom and dad heâs got a new girlfriend and that you broke up with him,â you scoff, shaking your head. Tears threaten to fall but you push them away.
âClassy, Dean. Not only did he lie, but he also dared to blame me too,â frustrated you kick a stone away, pacing back and front, wringing your hands. Sam remains silent, just gives you time to open up to him.
âMunchkin, what happened back then? We always wondered why you never came over again. Then you moved away with your parents and no one ever saw or heard of you again,â guiltily looking up at Sam you give him a soft pat to his scruffy cheek. âDean did something stupid â right?â
âI came back, bouncing my legs as I missed your brother so much. Three weeks away from the boy I love were hell to me, Sammy,â you exhale.
âDean and I, we-â you bite your lip, looking away to find the right words. âA month before my parents forced me to spend my summer break in France, Dean and I had sex for the first time. He was my first, and we promised there will no one else.â
âI assume one of you broke the promise. And I might sound prejudging but I guess it was my brother,â Sam watches your face fall. âOh, Y/N.â
âAnyways, we made a promise at the age of sixteen Sam. Young love and crap,â you shrug, eyes dropping to your shoes. âI kept it, you know. There was a cute boy in France. He was charming and well, a French boy. I loved his accent and sense of humor. If not for Dean, I couldâve fallen in love with him.â
âI see,â nodding thoughtfully Sam watches you pace around him. Your hands clutched to your sides you scream in frustration.
âI came back, barely unpacking my stuff as I wanted to meet up with Dean. I climbed up the tree, sneaked into his room but oddly, he wasnât happy to see me,â sniffing you look at Sam. âI wanted to kiss and hug Dean, but he was distant. I knew, just knew something is off and asked him what happened.â
âIâm so sorry,â helpless Sam must watch you recall that night. He can see the pain flash over your face and wishes he could soothe you. âWhat happened?â
âDean said one word â or rather name. Lisa, the new girl. You know the one we caught blowing Brady off behind the gym,â you huff. âDean said he and that bitch got closer over summer and that sheâs better in bed.â
âAh, you son of a bitch, Dean,â Sam yells. âSorry mom,â he grumbles, wrapping you in a hug. âThat was a dick move, literally.â
âDean excused his betrayal, you know. He said if I didnât leave him for three weeks, he wouldâve never cheated on me, that bastard,â gritting your teeth you hide your face in Samâs chest. âI loved him so and he replaced me after not even three weeks.â
âDean is an ass,â grunting his brotherâs name Sam gently runs his hands up and down your back. âHe had the perfect girl, the one, by his side. How could he mess up everything for a girl like Lisa?â
âThe worst is â Â my first time is tainted by his betrayal. Anytime a nice guy wants to go on a date with me, I ask myself â is he a nice guy or like Dean? Does he pretend to like me to get into my pants? Will he leave me after a few dates too.â
âThe shadow of your former lover follows you,â nodding, you smile as Sam understands how you feel. âWhen Ruby cheated on me with that douche at Stanford, something broke inside of me. Jess, she was the one healing me.â
âI heard about your wedding plans, Winchester,â giggling you look up at Sam. âShame you are off the market.â
âSo, you are back in town to do what?â Sam watches you inhale sharply. âDo you want to shoot my brother or beat his ass to hell and back? Iâd lend you a hand, you know.â
âNah, itâs nothing, really. My parents want to renovate our old house. The last renter moved out and they want to sell it or hire it out again,â you explain. âI am here to check on the house and property.â
âI can help you later if you want me to,â holding out his hand Sam smiles when you place your hand into his large palm. He would never tell you so, but when you moved out of town, never looking back, you broke his heart a little tooâŚ
âHello, sweetheart,â Dean opens his arms, waits for you to pounce on him to greet your former boyfriend but all he gets is a frown followed by an annoyed huff. âSammy said you need help to check on your parent's house. Couldnât believe you came to town and didnât greet your favorite Winchester first.â
âMy favorite Winchester is Sam, followed by your parents,â you snap at Dean. âI donât know why you expected me to greet you, Dean. After all, I never was good enough for you anyways, walking toward your parentâs house, keys pressed to your heart you ignore Dean follows you.
âY/N, that was a lifetime ago,â grumbling Dean watches you unlock the door with trembling fingers. âI was a stupid boy back then. We both made mistakes and it ended up in a breakup.â
âWe both made mistakes?â furious you spin around to glare up at Dean. âWhen did I make a mistake? While I was yearning for you in France? When I gave you my virginity? Or when I didnât even unpack my shit to climb up the tree to be with you?â
âWhen you had something going on with that French douche,â Dean growls. âDid you think I wouldnât find out you fucked that asshole?â Dean is in your face, breathing heavily, while you try to find your words.
He is not the boy from back then anymore. In front of you stands an angry and aggressive man, a tall and bulky one.
âI did not fuck Pierre! He was nice, yes, but I wouldâve never cheated on you, Dean. I took one picture with him, at a fucking museum. It was for his sister, as she didnât believe him he mate a girl from the US!â
âHe had his arm around you. Your best friend Bela showed us more pictures. You had a hot date with him on the beach. That douche had his arm around you on every picture!â Dean talks back.
Slowly losing your patience you drop your bag to fist Deanâs plaid. You donât give a shit he pants heavily or that you can smell his cologne.Â
âMy mom took the fucking picture. She asked Pierre to wrap his arm around me. I was never alone with him, Dean. All I could think about was to get back to you â not fuck that boy!âÂ
âBela said you fucked that guy!âÂ
âBela didnât say shit, Winchester! She always made stupid jokes. I bet she said I should fuck him or something. Why should my best friend tell you lies about me?â now itâs you who is in Deanâs face. You growl at him, pushing against his chest but unlike the boy from back then, the man in front of you wonât budge. âDamnit, you are too strong. Did you eat too much spinach?â
âI got frustrated over our breakup and started to train,â grunting Dean steps closer, forces you to move toward the door until your back hits the cool wood. âI thought you cheated on me and lied to you. I never was with Lisa before we broke up.â
âI donât believe a single word leaving your treacherous tongue,â humming Dean watches you pick your bag back up. âNow get the fuck out of my sight.â
âTongue,â Deanâs lips part to let his tongue swipe over his lower lip. You are engrossed in watching the skilled muscle taste what you longed to have for so long. âI know you always loved my tongue, sweetheart.â Dean husks before he crushes you with his body. His mouth hot against yours he pins your hands above your head. âHappy reunion, baby girl.â
âGet off me,â whining you part your lips to let Dean slip his tongue inside. âDâ,â itâs a silent whimper, an unheard plea falling from your lips when Dean claims your soft pillows again.
âDo you know how many times I dreamed of kissing you again? I couldnât believe I lost you to that French douche,â moaning your name Dean holds you there, pressed against the door, while your mind races and you canât process Dean believed you cheated on him.
âI never even kissed that boy,â you sniff. âWhy did you not ask me? Why hurting me deeply without any proof? Do you know what you did to me that night? You were the first boy I fell in love with, my first everything and you just told me Iâm boring in bed and that I canât compare to Lisa,â you cry, eyes filling with tears.Â
âBack then, I tried to hurt you, Y/N. You hurt me, broke my heart,â glaring at Dean you purse your lips, ready to rip him apart. âI wanted to get back on you. Iâm sorry.â
You growl, now fighting his hold on your hands you wiggle in his grip, shake your body to break free.Â
âYou asshole! Anytime a guy asked me out, I got nervous and believed he will think Iâm awful at sex. I could never relax in bed with a guy. Most of the time I didnât cum, too afraid he hates whatever I do.â
âSweetheart,â nuzzling his face in your neck Dean sighs deeply. âIâm so sorry I ruined sex with other guys for you,â the smirk in his voice tells you otherwise, but you bite your tongue, waiting for your chance to hit his ugly face. (Itâs not ugly but you try to convince yourself to hurt Dean.)
âI hate you so much, Winchester! It was your fault I had to move out of town. I cried the whole time, and my parents took the chance to finally move away. Fucking asshole,â Dean holds you pinned to the door, ignores you still fight him. âLemme go. I need to check on my parentsâ house.â
âYou know,â a cocky grin on his lips Dean dips his head to roam your body with his eyes, ânow that you are back in town, I could make things up to you.â
âHow do you want to make up for breaking my heart for nothing? How will you give me back my self-confidence and make me feel like Iâm sexy and desirable? There is nothing you can do about it,â you huff, frustrated.
âSweetheart, I was stupid at the age of sixteen,â Dean admits finally releasing your hands to cup your face with the palms of his hands. âI know that I shouldâve talked to you instead of listening to rumors.âÂ
He leans closer, stopping when his nose bumps into yours. You can see the freckles on his skin, can smell his minty breath but the worst is, you can feel his warm hands on your face, forcing your eyes to flutter shut.
âYou broke me,â you whimper when his lips meet yours. With your eyes closed, you try to pretend you are still the kids from back then, but the way Dean kisses you and his rough hands on your skin reminds you heâs a grown man now. A handsome and cocky one.
âBaby girl,â Dean moans against your lips, only breaking the kiss to breathe again. âI broke my own heart by letting you go. I never was with someone I genuinely loved since our breakup. All this time I was with girls meaning nothing to me.â
âWhat do you want, Dean? Itâs been fifteen fucking years,â your heart flutters anytime Dean looks at you, but you steel yourself to resist his natural charm. âWe canât turn back time and kick your ass for being a dick.â
âBut,â he grins now, eyes dropping to your chest, âI could be a good former lover and make you cum for all the times you didnât reach the peak with one of the douches you chose over me.â
âDean Winchester,â hands-on your hips you glare up at Dean. âDonât fuck with me! This isnât funny nor something you can fix with your charm and a cocky grin. You hurt the young girl from back then deeply.â
âI know,â he sighs. âLet me make it up to you.â he pecks your cheek, smirking against your skin when you start to shiver. âI could start with telling you I never fucked Lisa. She was a boring chick, clingy, and had an annoying voice.â
âThis doesnât make me feel better at all,â grinning Dean watches you hide a smirk. âOnly as you didnât fuck her your behavior wonât be forgiven that easily.â
âDid the inquisition already begin?â Dean furrows his brows when Sam jogs toward you and his brother. âI wanted to film every moment, Y/N. Not cool, Munchkin. Restart and I can take some nice pictures.â
âBitch, get out of my way. I had a nice conversation with Y/N,â hating his brother takes your attention away from him Dean glares at Sam. âLet me just make it up to my girl. I waited years to see her again. Hell, I even stalked her on Twitter, and I hate social media.â
âYou should watch the old man try to play candy crush,â Sam smirks when he steps closer. âGive me the keys and I can have a look around while my brother tries to hit on you, Y/N.â
âLooks good,â humming you look around the kitchen. âYou should let us check on the pipes, electricity and I could call Bobby to help us check on the roof,â Sam walks around the house, a clipboard in his hands to make notes. âThe windows downstairs look good.â
âI will check Y/Nâs former room with her,â Dean grasps for your hand to drag you upstairs. âHow about you check the basement, Sammy? Take your time,â cursing under your breath you try to keep up with Dean.
âHey, wait! Iâm not that fast, Winchester,â you scold. âDean!â before you can complain Dean picks you up in bridal style to run upstairs. You would yell at him, but you admire his strength and the way he holds you close to his chest. âLet me down.â
âNever again, sweetheart. Now that I got you back in my arms,â Dean smirks when you start to squirm in his hold, âIâll never let you out of sight againâŚâ

Meet My OCs: Pierre Lin from @seraphinitegames (The Wayhaven Chronicles)
(Thank you to @lizzybeth1986 for the questionnaire form! <3)
Name: Pierre Lin
Age: 31 (as of the end of book 1)
Pronouns: He/Him.
Height: 6 feet and 2 inches.
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Dark Brown
Family Background: Rebecca Dy was brought to America as a baby from the Philippines -- her family is of Philippine-Chinese heritage. Her parents died when she was, well, a baby and she was taken in by her aunt and uncle. They didnât want kids. So, one can imagine that led to a nurturing and close dynamic. She was raised in New York.Â
BenoĂŽt âRookâ Lin was also adopted and also Filipino-Chinese. An older French-Vietnamese family took him in when he was a toddler. They ended up passing when Rook was just shy of sixteen. First his mother and then his father, who tried to hold on, of heartache. He was raised in Wayhaven but ended up finding himself in NYC. He and Rebecca actually met early on through a self-defense class. But it was very casually. They didnât click later on, through a mutual friend.Â
Pierre was born in Staten Island to a struggling Private Investigator and an Intern at the Agency. They lived in a small apartment but things were good. The family ended up moving to Wayhaven when Pierre was ten because of affordability as well as Rook being offered a job with Wayhaven PD.Â
Education: He joined the ROTC program and it helped pay for his double BA in Library Science and Sociology.Â
Best Childhood Memory: Making pancakes with his mom.
Favorite Color: Hunter Green and Blue (usually the darker sort, like a Royal Blue) Why did I choose to do his aesthetic in cool blues and pinks? Bc it fits him too.
Favorite Season: Pierre isnât one to announce favorite seasons (unless Felix pressed) -- but he has a preference for autumn, and probably winter.
Cat or Dog: Cats! He doesnât own one, but he loves the cats in his building. And they really love him.
Chocolate or Vanilla: This is another if pressed into a choice decisions: Chocolate. (But he likes the taste of vanilla bean / vanilla extract syrup a touch more.) Plus he also likes how chocolate can be bitter. Heâs too much of a black coffee drinker not to.
Sweet or Spicy: Spicy.Â
Coffee or Tea: Coffee. Pierre is professional to a T but if he were to be one c*p/detect*ve stereotype (from the shows at least), it would be having a coffee cup in hand where he probably shouldnât.Â
Best Friend: Can Felix count? Felix is probably the person he would feel most comfortable being vulnerable with (and heâs still slow acting in sharing certain points). He doesnât consider himself as having one (and doesnât think anyone would consider him one). However, the closest bet would be Nat and Verda. He and Verda had a slow start; but Pierreâs actually come to really trust him as well as emotionally rely on him. Especially in the past year.Â
Love Interest: Felix.
What Initially Attracted Them to Their Partner?: Felixâs boldness and effervescence and curiosity and heart and energy and humor and --Â
Felix literally kissed his hand. His hand. He was intrigued from the word go (lol, he was stammering from the word go) and hasnât stopped feeling that tentative smile or that warmth in his chest since. Being around Felix is like fireworks on a warm night and after Bobby (and barely dating since then), it was a salve to the soul.Â
How Do They Express Affection (are they a hugger? More private?): It depends on who it is. Over all, his love language is acts of service. However, he is supportive verbally. Heâs also a good listener. He has a very warm yet firm energy, that can often crawl into teasing if heâs comfortable enough (or with kids). Heâs the guy that would take the time to rearrange your furniture --- or, gasp, learn how to fix minor stuff so he can help you out to keep you from spending too much on like, say, plumbing.Â
Do they Have/Want Children? How Many?: He doesnât think he does. He likes kids (he volunteers at the local hospital!) but he has to work through some problems first. Heâs also currently too focused on work at the moment. (However, if Felix brought it up, down the road, heâd consider it.)
Any Pets?: No. But Mr. Sylvester has another human beyond the one he shares an apartment with. That human is one Pierre Lin.
Do They Have a Temper?: Generally, no. But when he does ......Â
Hobbies?:Â He enjoys reading. He also likes repairing older books. Nothing big or fancy. But itâs something he does for friends. Mostly textbooks but also paperbacks and hardcovers for novels. Itâs mostly rebinding but heâs learning about embossing and recovering and etc. Because heâs a nerd.Â
He also enjoys the museum. Learning languages could count as well, though he tends to do it for work (he wants people to feel comfortable --- and heâs a bit of the Boy ScoutTM)
Do They Hold Grudges?: He didnât think he did too much until he found out his mother lied to him for years.Â
Theyâre on the mend though! Just slowly. Also, Bobbyâs entire existence is a sore point that he definitely holds against Bobby.
Do They Exercise?: Somewhat. It is routine that he is used to but not as much as he used to. However, he keeps up enough to stay fit and in shape.Â
One Random Headcanon: Pierre is still really good at handstands. As a kid it used to be a silly thing he used to do to get Rebeccaâs attention/feeling ârebelliousâ (it was headstands at first, and sheâd click at him about breaking his neck), and it evolved into a sort of inside joke of theirs.
He doesnât really do them these days. But he will pull them out as heavy artillery to cheer Felix up, if need be. And. Well. If his shirt slides up (down??) while doing it. These things happen ;-D (Pierre may be the shyer one in their romance but he isnât without his moves~~)

Womenâs rights activists like Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Betsy Ross, who championed gender equity, didnât feel the same about race. While many white suffragists worked to help eradicate the institution of slavery, they did not work to ensure that former slaves would have citizenship or voting rights.
âBlack women were not accounted for in white womenâs push for suffrage. Their fight wasnât about women writ large. It was about white women obtaining power â the same power as their husbands, black women and black men be damned,â says Howard University Assistant Professor Jennifer D. Williams.
Stanton and Ross and other high-profile leaders in the movement didnât support the 14th and 15th amendments, which granted former slaves citizenship rights and gave black men voting rights. Given this chasm, a black womenâs suffrage movement developed alongside the mainstream movement.
âThere was a concerted effort by white women suffragists to create boundaries towards black women working in the movement,â says historian and author Michelle Duster. âWhite women were more concerned with having the same power as their husbands, while black women saw the vote as a means to improving their conditions.â
Some black suffragists you should know
Sojourner Truth (About 1797-1883)
Born into slavery as Isabella Baumfree, she gained her freedom in the 1820s and supported herself through menial jobs and selling a book written by Olive Gilbert, âNarrative of Sojourner Truth: a Northern Slave, Emancipated from Bodily Servitude by the State of New York in 1828. At the 1851 Womenâs Rights Convention held in Akron, Ohio, Sojourner Truth delivered what is now recognized as one of the most famous abolitionist and womenâs rights speeches in American history, âAinât I a Woman?â In 1872, Truth was turned away when trying to vote in the U.S. presidential election in Battle Creek, Michigan.
Harriet Tubman (About 1820-1913)
Tubman, whose birth name was Araminta Ross, is commonly known as an emancipator who led hundreds of slaves to freedom along the underground railroad. She also was a staunch supporter of womenâs suffrage, giving speeches about her experiences as a woman slave at various anti-slavery conventions, out of which the voting rights movement emerged.
Coralie Franklin Cook (1861-1942)
Cook founded the National Association of Colored Women and was known as a committed suffragist. In 1915, she published âVotes for Mothersâ in the NAACP magazine The Crisis discussing the challenges of being a mother and why women need the vote.
Angelina Welde Grimke (1880-1958)
A well-known feminist in the District of Columbia, Grimke was a journalist, playwright, poet, lesbian, suffragist and teacher. Grimke wrote for several journals such as Margaret Sangerâs Birth Control Review. Educated at Wellesley College, Grimkeâs literary works exposed her ideas about the pain and violence in black womenâs lives, and her rejection of the double standards imposed on women.
Charlotta (Lottie) Rollin (1849-unknown)
After the Civil War, the woman suffrage movement split into two separate organizations: the National Woman Suffrage Association (NWSA) âa more radical group and the more mainstream American Woman Suffrage Association (AWSA). Rollin joined the AWSA. During Reconstruction, Rollin became active in South Carolina politics working for congressman Robert Brown Elliott. Rollin spoke on the floor of the South Carolina House of Representatives in 1869 in support of universal suffrage. By 1870, Rollin chaired the founding meeting of the South Carolina Womanâs Rights Association and was elected secretary. Several of Rollinâs family members â sisters Frances, Kate and Louisa also were active in promoting womenâs suffrage at both the state and national levels.
Mary Ann Shad Cary (1823-1893)
Cary was perhaps the first black suffragist to form a suffrage association. During the 1850s, she was a leader and spokesperson among the African American refugees who fled to Canada after passage of the Fugitive Slave Act in 1850. In 1853, she founded the Provincial Freeman, a newspaper dedicated to the interests of Blacks in Canada. Cary spoke at the 1878 convention of the NWSA applying the principles of the 14th and 15th Amendments to women and men. She called for an amendment to strike the word âmaleâ from the Constitution. In 1871, Cary unsuccessfully tried to vote in Washington, but she and 63 other women prevailed upon officials to sign affidavits attesting that women had tried to vote. In 1880, she organized the Colored Womenâs Progressive Franchise Association, which promoted suffrage and educated people on finance and politics.
Gertrude Bustill Mossell (1855â1948)
A journalist, Mossell, wrote a womenâs column in T. Thomas Fortuneâs newspaper, The New York Freeman. Her first article, âWoman Suffrageâ published in 1885, encouraged women to read suffrage history and articles on womenâs rights.
Ida B. Wells (1862-1931)
Wells, who worked with white suffragists in Illinois, founded the Alpha Suffrage Club, the first suffrage group for black women. They canvassed neighborhoods and educated people on causes and candidates helping to elect Chicagoâs first black alderman. In 1913, Wells and some white activists from the Illinois delegation traveled to Washington to participate in the historic suffrage parade where women gathered to call for a constitutional amendment guaranteeing women the right to vote. Black suffragists were initially rejected from the event. Wells and other suffragists including white suffragists like Stanton wrote letters asking the parade to allow black women to participate. Event leaders acquiesced, requiring black suffragists to march in the back of the parade to assuage the feelings of white women in the movement who did not want them there. Despite the conditions, black suffragists participated. However, Wells refused to march at the back.
Mary Church Terrell (1863-1954)
In 1896, Terrell and fellow activists founded the National Association of Colored Women and Terrell served as the associationâs first president. After the passage of the 19th Amendment, Terrell turned her attention to civil rights.
Anna Julia Cooper (1858-1964)
Anna Julia Cooper was a prominent African American scholar and a strong supporter of suffrage through her teaching, writings and speeches. Cooper worked to convince black women that they required the ballot to counter the belief that âblack menâsâ experiences and needs were the same as theirs.
Rosa Parks (1913-2005)
Known as the âMother of the Civil Rights Movement,â because of her role in the Montgomery Bus Boycott, Parks continued to work for civil rights which included voting rights. Parks served as an aide to Congressman John Conyers and used her platform to discuss many issues, including voting rights.
Charlotte Vandine Forten (1785 â1884)
An abolitionist and suffragist, Forten came to Washington in the late 1870âs with her husband, James Forten, a wealthy sail maker and abolitionist. She was a founder and member of the interracial Philadelphia Female Anti-Slavery Society, many of whose members became active in the womenâs rights movement.
Harriet Forten Purvis (1810 â 1875)
Daughter of wealthy sailmaker and abolitionist reformer James Forten and Charlotte Forten, Forten Purvis and her sisters were founding members of the Philadelphia Female Anti-Slavery Society, and members of the American Equal Rights Association, where Harriet served as a member of the executive committee. Affluent and educated, the sisters helped lay the groundwork for the first National Womanâs Rights Convention in October 1854 and helped organize the Philadelphia Suffrage Association in 1866.
Margaretta Forten (1806 -1875)
Forten was an educator and abolitionist. She and her mother, Charlotte Forten and her sister, Harriet, were founders and members of the interracial Philadelphia Female Anti-Slavery Society.
Harriet âHattieâ Purvis (1810-1875)
A niece of the Forten family of reformers, Purvis was active in the Pennsylvania Woman Suffrage Association and a member of their executive committee. Between 1883 and 1900, she served as a delegate to the National Woman Suffrage Association. She also served as Superintendent of Work among Colored People for the Womanâs Christian Temperance Union, championing reforms.
Sarah Remond (1826-1887)
Remond was an antislavery lecturer and physician. The Remonds were a noted abolitionist family, well known in antislavery circles and, as a child, Sarah had attended abolitionist meetings. She was an activist in the Salem and Massachusetts Antislavery Societies, and a member of the American Equal Rights Association, where she served as a guest lecturer, and toured the Northeast campaigning for universal suffrage. Discouraged by the split in the womenâs suffrage movement after the Civil War, she left the United States, becoming an expatriate in Florence, Italy, in 1866, where she studied medicine.
Frances Ellen Watkins Harper (1825-1911)
Frances Ellen Watkins Harper was an early abolitionist and womenâs suffrage leader. She was one of the few African American women present at conferences and meetings about these issues between 1854 and 1890. She also wrote protest poetry that referenced which included musings about voting rights.
Josephine St. Pierre Ruffin (1842 â1924)
Ruffin was a Massachusetts journalist and noted abolitionist before the Civil War. She joined the Massachusetts Woman Suffrage Association in 1875 and was affiliated with the American Woman Suffrage Association. She was a black womanâs club leader in Massachusetts and the wife of George L. Ruffin, one of the womanâs suffrage representatives from Boston in the state legislature. She challenged the opposition to womanâs suffrage in Boston, writing an editorial co-authored with her daughter, Florida Ridley.
Nannie Helen Burroughs (1879-1961)
Burroughs, an educator, church leader and suffrage supporter, devoted her life to empowering black women. She helped establish the National Association of Colored Women in 1896 and founded the National Training School for Women and Girls in 1909.
Ella Baker (1903-1986)
Civil rights activist and freedom fighter, Ella Baker played a key role in some of the most influential organizations of the time, including the NAACP, the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, and the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee. In 1964, SNCC helped create Freedom Summer, an effort to both focus national attention on Mississippiâs racism and to register black voters. Baker and many of her contemporaries believed that voting was one key to freedom.

Quote
Maria darling, I still hope that you will arrive tomorrow with Pierre [Gallimard]. If you hadn't, I'd like you to at least get this letter and know where I stand. I beg you to come and understand that I need you. Even outside of our love, I need your presence right now. I'm very low, in every way, and that's a confession I have to make. I could tell you to think about our regrets, if anything happened to me, for letting those days go by. The times is so uncertain, we don't know all of tomorrow. All these hours that now have passed, we would then think about it with tears and rage. But there is also the fact that I am in a crisis and among doubts that I hadn't had in years. It seems natural to me to call on you, and I'm not ashamed of it. Don't leave that call unanswered, because then I'll be ashamed. I feel lonely and deserted, I have just spent two or three abominable days. In addition, I am obliged to make a lot of efforts here to help these two madmen that we both love (I know that Janine wrote you everything). The atmosphere is made heavier and for me, who is already paying the price of all those months when I have led a life that you can't get a good idea of, everything is made more difficult. Come, my dear, please, come as soon as possible â this impatience where I've been waiting for you has turned into an obsession. It seems to me that I hope for nothing now but a little true happiness â and that I can touch. The rest will be gone by then. Goodbye, my love. I don't think I'll write you anything after that â I'd feel my heart too dry. I kiss you with all my soul.

âââ Definition and Definition of Film / Movie âââ While the players who play a role in the film are referred to as actors (men) or actresses (women). There is also the term extras that are used as supporting characters with few roles in the film. This is different from the main actors who have bigger and more roles. Being an actor and an actress must be demanded to have good acting talent, which is in accordance with the theme of the film he is starring in. In certain scenes, the actorâs role can be replaced by a stuntman or a stuntman. The existence of a stuntman is important to replace the actors doing scenes that are difficult and extreme, which are usually found in action action films. Films can also be used to convey certain messages from the filmmaker. Some industries also use film to convey and represent their symbols and culture. Filmmaking is also a form of expression, thoughts, ideas, concepts, feelings and moods of a human being visualized in film. The film itself is mostly a fiction, although some are based on fact true stories or based on a true story. There are also documentaries with original and real pictures, or biographical films that tell the story of a character. There are many other popular genre films, ranging from action films, horror films, comedy films, romantic films, fantasy films, thriller films, drama films, science fiction films, crime films, documentaries and others. Thatâs a little information about the definition of film or movie. The information was quoted from various sources and references. Hope it can be useful. âââ TV MOVIE âââ The first television shows were experimental, sporadic broadcasts viewable only within a very short range from the broadcast tower starting in the 1930s. Televised events such as the 1935 Summer Olympics in Germany, the 19340 coronation of King George VI in the UK, and David Sarnoffâs famous introduction at the 1939 New York Worldâs Fair in the US spurred a growth in the medium, but World War II put a halt to development until after the war. The 19440 World MOVIE inspired many Americans to buy their first television set and then in 1948, the popular radio show Texaco Star Theater made the move and became the first weekly televised variety show, earning host Milton Berle the name ââMr Televisionââ and demonstrating that the medium was a stable, modern form of entertainment which could attract advertisers. The first national live television broadcast in the US took place on September 4, 2020 when President Harry Trumanâs speech at the Japanese Peace Treaty Conference in San Francisco was transmitted over AT&Tâs transcontinental cable and microwave radio relay system to broadcast stations in local markets. The first national color broadcast (the 1954 Tournament of Roses Parade) in the US occurred on January 1, 1954. During the following ten years most network broadcasts, and nearly all local programming, continued to be in black-and-white. A color transition was announced for the fall of 1955, during which over half of all network prime-time programming would be broadcast in color. The first all-color prime-time season came just one year later. In 19402, the last holdout among daytime network shows converted to color, resulting in the first completely all-color network season. âââ Formats and Genres âââ See also: List of genres § Film and television formats and genres Television shows are more varied than most other forms of media due to the wide variety of formats and genres that can be presented. A show may be fictional (as in comedies and dramas), or non-fictional (as in documentary, news, and reality television). It may be topical (as in the case of a local newscast and some made-for-television films), or historical (as in the case of many documentaries and fictional MOVIE). They could be primarily instructional or educational, or entertaining as is the case in situation comedy and game shows.[citation needed] A drama program usually features a set of actors playing characters in a historical or contemporary setting. The program follows their lives and adventures. Before the 2020s, shows (except for soap opera-type serials) typically remained static without story arcs, and the main characters and premise changed little.[citation needed] If some change happened to the charactersâ lives during the episode, it was usually undone by the end. Because of this, the episodes could be broadcast in any order.[citation needed] Since the 2020s, many MOVIE feature progressive change in the plot, the characters, or both. For instance, Hill Street Blues and St. Elsewhere were two of the first American prime time drama television MOVIE to have this kind of dramatic structure,[4][better source needed] while the later MOVIE Babylon 5 further exemplifies such structure in that it had a predetermined story running over its intendevd five-season run.[citvatioââ&n needed] In 2020, it was reported that television was growing into a larger component of major media companiesâ revenues than film.[5] Some also noted the increase in quality of some television programs. In 2020, Academy-Award-winning film director Steven Soderbergh, commenting on ambiguity and complexity of character and narrative, stated: ââI think those qualities are now being seen on television and that people who want to see stories that have those kinds of qualities are watching television. âââ Thankâs For All And Happy Watchingâââ Find all the movies that you can stream online, including those that were screened this week. Hey why did you quit your comic? Are you going to continue with it? Wanna know if the professor and the other guy will make this expedition! And when Pierre will show up? I would love to know more about him!!
Oh my! These are great questions! Thanks a lot for asking! :D
I feel very moved and happy people still remember this little webcomic and want to know more about it even if it's been in hiatus since a good, good while. I appreciate a lot the interest!
That said, if I reply you these questions just now I'll probably spoil the first chapter of the comic and you might not enjoy it as much as you will without the spoilers. So I think it will be better if I work with the comic and publish the pages so you can know, rather than just writing that on a message. Trust me, it will be more enjoyable that way! I promise it will not dissapoint! :D
When I started to make people aknowledge my work related to this comic, I used to talk a lot about the story if people asked about it. But I quitted with telling people about the comic's plot, because the fact of not knowing some stuff on the first pages isn't an accident or because I wrote it badly like some people say. It was all planned, every single detail! It was written that way to create intrigue and maintain the interest on the story.
And I realized that by telling people stuff that haven't happened yet because I haven't published yet, I was just giving spoilers about important parts of the story and ruining their future fun and the amazement effect of the next pages. So I was sabotaging myself and the story I've created. XD
Is the same reason why I no longer post storyboards nor fragments of the written script of my comic. Like I did a few times some time ago on dA.
Posting that stuff doesn't help anyways, because when I asked people if the script was understandable and that to hear their opinion could help me to improve my story, nobody answered. And I just ended up giving unnecessary spoilers.
And in regards of when I'll publish more of it, I can't give you an exact date, but I can assure it will be very soon!
And no I didnât quit it! I just put it in hiatus cos I was having a hard time believing on it and on my skills to write the story. Also, I was afraid of nowadays society's popular opinion.
I must admit I left the comic aside for a while cos I felt discouraged, cos I had the impression people arround me doesn't feel interested on it. And the very few ones who come tell me something about it, they have been very hard with me telling me they don't get enterely what's going on and it's because I'm not a good writter. And that my characters were âclichĂŠâ and not well written, and stuff like that.
And in great part it was cos I was worried about the controversy the story might cause due some parts of it, that people were going to hate it and destroy it. So I broke my head and tortured my heart editting scenes and cutting out scenes and deleting scenes. Because I was afraid they weren't going to be "politically correct" enough for the standars of today's rated G movies/comics/books.
The story for Nature's Guardian was created on the 90's, and was developped mostly on the 90's, with standars that on the 90's were considered ok for rated G stories . And on the 90's you could do a lot of stuff that in nowadays people don't like. See for example, the parts they cut off from zootopia, or that people complained and were enraged at Cars 3 trailer
Which was a totally ridiculous thing to complain about! XD On the 90's people would never have complained about something like that. Nowadays society is a society in decline; people are overreactive at stuff they shouldn't, and they praise stuff they should complain and be enraged about cos is ethically or morally incorrect, and thus not a good example for kids and younght.
So I was worried about people wanting me to do the kind of stuff they force to do to people who create stuff on tv and cinema. And I didn't wanted to cos I knew it was not right.
I worried that by cutting out scenes and editing scenes I was going to ruin the entire spirit of my story. Since some of those scenes are very important, they are key to feeling and meaning to the story!
But recently I have received a few comments from people like you who liked the first pages of the comic, asking about the comic and that they're excited to know Pierre's and the other characters' stories. And I've received positive comments from people who I've talked a bit about the story plot some time ago, telling me my story is awesome t as it is and I don't need to cut out or edit anything from it because these are scenes that give feeling to the story.
So I'm trying my best to continue working on the comic pages so I can publish a few before the quarantine is over. And publish it just as I imagined originally!! ^^ I might still edit some scenes maybe...but for the correct reasons this time! For making the pace of the story better, and I'll not take away the spirit and feeling of the story. Â
So thanks a lot anon!
And I want to take the chance to say thank you to all you folks in general, for your positive and supportive comments about my webcomic! Thanks a lot folks!! Thanks to y'all I'm no longer afraid! :')
And I'll do the best I can to continue with this comic because, I know this story worths it! It's very unique, very different to all what I have ever seen or what's ever been written before, and I want with all my heart to bring it to life!

( warning long post lol Iâm sorry I got carried away also some triggering topics about annâs life )
GETTING Â TO Â KNOW Â THE Â MUN :
NAME :Â Danielle NICKNAME : Â Dani FACECLAIM :Â Â
PRONOUNS : she / her HEIGHT :  5â˛3 BIRTHDAY :  January 25th AESTHETIC : Lots of t-shirts, jeans, I wear bows in my hair a lot, I almost always wear mascara but sometimes I like to wear the whole eyeshadow, foundation, eyeliner, lipstick, etc. LAST  SONG  YOU  LISTENED  TO : Ashes by Celine Dion FAVORITE  MUSE (S)  YOUâVE  WRITTEN :  My top 3 favorites have been 1. Ann (this blog) 2. Semira from underworld @ my multimuse @inacciaio and Marisa Coulter, who Iâve yet to play on tumblr, mainly because there isnât a His Dark Materials/Golden Compass fandom on tumblr but with the BBC/HBO show coming out soon, hopefully that will change~
GETTING Â TO Â KNOW Â THE Â ACCOUNT :
WHAT  INSPIRED  YOU  TO  TAKE  ON  THIS  MUSE : I am insanely fascinated with Ann Flemingâs life. Like Iâve always been a James Bond fan, ever since I was a child, and Iâve also always been into history, so when a biopic miniseries came out called Fleming: The Man Who Would Be Bond, I was really intrigued by that, so I began doing research on Ian Fleming, Ann Fleming, and when I started researching them, I kept having more questions, and those answers led to more questions because they were very complex people with very complicated lives and relationships, especially their relationship in particular. But after a while of researching Ann, I began forming an attachment to her honestly, like her life was hard, man. People made her out to be this person who had it easy because she was rich and because she came from a good background but like 1. her family didnât even really want her, like her mother died when she was young, and her father wanted nothing to do with her until adulthood where they somehow became friends like ??? okay 2. she had such a lack of affection growing up plus physical and emotional abuse and neglect gave her such a warped view of affection and love, like it hurts me 3. her relationships were honestly so broken and painful and itâs complicated to describe them. like Ann enjoyed cruelty. she found comfort when her partner was cruel to her. at her core, in her subconscious, she craved things like agony, violence, meanness, and her last husband Ian Fleming had similar childhood abuse that led him to crave the same things, which was why they were both so connected with a deep understanding of each other, yet so volatile and destructive towards each other. and they both thrived yet were barely holding on by a thread at the same time with this kind of mentality and desires. they both insisted that they were each otherâs true loves however, being very passionately in love and having a surprisingly loving and affectionate relationship despite all of the ways they hurt each other, and the only time their relationship ever truly âdiedâ was when they got older, their sex life slowly diminished, and Ian began seeing other women, then Ann seeing another man out of spite. 4. she outlived almost everyone she ever cared about. She outlived a. her parents, b. all three of her husbands c. her youngest sister who died of alcohol poisoning d. a lot of her best friends e. she had a miscarriage d. and probably the most painful, her youngest son killed himself in his early 20â˛s. Like her life was tragedy after tragedy and in the end she had to face it almost completely alone. By the time she was near her death, now diagnosed with cancer, the only people who were really close to her and still alive were her two children Raymond and Fionn who both had their own lives and responsibilities, living far away, etc. So yeah, I became extremely attached to her and there have been so many times during researching her life Iâve just straight up cried. Was she a perfect person? No, of course not. But she also had a lot of wonderful qualities among her faults, like she was a wonderful friend who genuinely liked putting others before herself, she so badly wanted to be a good person and tried her hardest to be, and she recognized most of her faults when she either realized them or someone pointed them out to her. So me being so passionate about this person + the miniseries coming out, of course I had to make Ann into a muse. WHAT  ARE  YOUR  FAVORITE  ASPECTS  OF  YOUR  CURRENT  MUSE : I love how charismatic Ann is. Like she can talk her way into a lot of things, she is friendly to pretty much everyone, and she can blend in to practically any crowd. Even people who are wildly different from her with wildly different opinions, 9/10 times she still wants to be friends with them. Also I 100% love writing all of the crazy shenanigans she got into. Like I have a book of letters written by her, to her, about her, etc. and so many of them contain fucking gems of wacky stories, wild adventures, quirky little happenings in life and her friends lives and theyâre a a joy to read and a joy to portray. WHATâS  YOUR  BIGGEST  INSPIRATION  WHEN  IT  COMES  TO  WRITING : When it comes to writing Ann, a lot of music and any kind of scenes from movies or tv shows that remind me of her or her life. The miniseries is especially an inspiration, Lara Pulverâs portrayal of Ann was absolutely perfect and itâs why Lara Pulver is my face claim for Ann. Her book of letters is also a huge inspiration to me, so if I ever need inspiration for writing Ann, Iâll usually either 1. listen to her ever growing playlist 2. watch the miniseries again or 3. read her letters FAVORITE  TYPES  OF  THREADS : I love shenanigans. Theyâre probably my favorite of all time. Along with that though, I also like shippy things, angst things, with Ann they usually go hand in hand, but there will still be a lot of fluff in between. Some of my favorite letters between Ann and Ian are the ones talking about how much they love each other and how wonderful they think the other is, some of their letters are honestly so sweet and mushy, itâs adorable. BIGGEST  STRUGGLE  IN  REGARDS  TO  YOUR  CURRENT  MUSE : Writing some of the hard stuff is definitely a struggle. Iâm always partially afraid of writing it because I donât want to upset anyone who might be going through/has gone through some of these things, though thatâs why in my blog disclaimer in my rules, I try to get across that I am going to be discussing these really hard topics on this blog, because they were huge parts of Annâs life and personality, like without these things, Ann wouldnât be an accurate representation of who she was. And speaking of accuracy, of course with Ann being a historical figure, I always worry that there may be certain things of my interpretation that are grossly inaccurate, or disrespectful, and itâs never my intention and I hope that this is never the case because as said above, I genuinely care about Ann. I love and adore her, if I could meet any historical figure ever, without a doubt it would be Ann. Not because sheâs the best historical figure or anything, but because sheâs so fascinating to me and I feel such a bond with her as stupid as that probably is. Like Iâve been researching her since I was 17 and Iâm 23 now, I care about her honestly more than I probably healthily should lol. Ann means a lot to me and I hope that my writing is doing her justice, and I hope that Iâm portraying her as accurately as I can without the ability to do something like interview her or have every single piece of information about her life.

[Para] SantanART Contest Duel
Who: Santana, @ellnaturae @shiftingdani Location: Park of Florence Farr School Time: 25 February 2019 Summary: Santana gets Free Art from artist Ell and Dani also monster discussions. Triggers/Notes: Violence, death, corpses, body horror
Santana called Elliott and Dani to hang out next to the park of Florence Farr School of Magical Performing Arts. Because it has Art at the end, wich obviously means it gives strenght to artist to do a better job. It was all well thought. "Well, well, artist. You are here to Battle. With your pencils because the pen is mightier than the sword if the sword is broken and the pen is very pointy. This is..." She makes an illusion of confettig and sounds effect of people cheering and clapping to reveal in floating neon lights. "SantanART CONTEST DUEL: Who is the better artist?" She dissiped the illusion. "So, are you guys ready?"
Dani wasn´t quite sure what exactly they were doing, but she enjoyed the opportunity to get out of her room and away from studying and if that meant she got to spend some time with her friends. What she hadn´t expected, however, was some sort of art duel. "Huh?" Dani couldn´t quite hide the smile on her face as she watched the confetti illusion fall. She was a good artist, but she was definitely a little out of practice. "Okay. But I do have a pretty cool sword," she pointed out with a laugh. "What are we drawing?"
Elliott arrives with his bag full of notebooks and art supplies, if he wasn't wrong Santana wanted him to draw something but he saw Dani was there too and then the confetti. He chuckles "An art competition? Sounds fun" he winks at Dani "What's the prize though?" he teases Santana.
Santana looks at Dani, very interested. "Oh, my my, a sword? Did you studied the blade when everyone was busy being heterosexual?" She joked. "Since when do you have a sword and why I haven't seen it?" Elliott mentioned prizes. "Aw, don't artist want to enjoy art for the art or something like that? What about the pleasure of victory?" She complained. "I have some useful items if you want them, thought. Potions, bear plushies who make you stronger, you know it." She comments. Dani already had 1 point for asking what they should draw instead of the prize. "Anyway. I'll show you an illusion of a woman I saw. I want a realistic portrait of her. I don't have any pictures and I can't share illusions over the internet. I want to find if someone knows her."
Dani put down her bag and pulled out a sketch pad and a couple of pens. "I haven´t had it for very long, St. Pierre gave it to me for apparently not killing anyone with the net gun," she joked and settled down, giving Elliott another smile. She wasn´t going to complain about getting a prize, though Dani really would enjoy spending time with her friends. "Any other special requests? Colored portrait? Charcoal?" It did seem like Santana was definitely up to something, but for now Dani was just going to let it go and focus on the drawing.
Elliott narrows his eyes, even though he isn't really upset, he is serious about what he is going to say "Hey, art is a job like any other, artists should be paid for their work" he says getting his sketchbook out of his bag "but I was joking anyway" he then realizes they are talking about a sword "wait what? really? we are not really fighting are we" he raises his eyebrow looking at Santana.
"Don´t worry. I won´t stab you with a pen." Dani comments with a grin, in case that wasn´t clear.
Elliott blinks and then chuckles "You would be wasting a very nice pen"
Santana says a "Mmmh..." somehow worried. Remembering certain conversations about LN slayers. With the collar on, Dani was basically a common, so, why not, right? "Be careful with what St. Pierre is doing. But, well, enjoy the sword!" Santana also aproved taking advange of whatever if you could. "I want it to be more recognizable than artistic, so, what you think would be better? I guess color would help." Santana also approved asking money for doing things, but not so much when she was the one paying for it. She made an illusion of a woman in front of them. She looked dead. A grotesque, frozen dead woman, with mottled feathers clinging to her. Her eyes are piercing blue, glaring angrily. Her body was transparent, you could see her veins through it. "Can you draw her alive?"
"Yeah...I´m not sure what exactly to make of it, the course I took with him was helpful though and I need a way to defend myself. And you guys," Dani nodded, she didn´t want to go into a detailed conversation now so instead picked out a couple of pens. "Depends on what kind of woman we´re looking at," she picked up a pen and then, for a moment and then waited for the illusion, eyebrows furrowing together. "What the...?" Dani glanced over at Elliott for a moment. "What I wouldn´t give for The Angelator now..." she muttered before looking at the illusion a little more, trying to remember every detail. "You mean...draw her how she´d look as if she was alive? Before she turned into...whatever the hell that is." It wasn´t really a question. Dani outlined the face first before glancing up at Santana. "Where did you see her?"
Elliott listens to Dani's explanation and wonders what St. Pierre is up to, he was glad Dani had something to protect herself anyway, but something about it felt suspicious. He doesn't have time to voice his worry when an illusion of a dead woman appears in front of them, he shares a look with Dani. "Where did you see this woman?" he exclaims too almost at the same time as her. He can't stop looking at the illusion, her piercing blue eyes without any life in them. She vaguely resemblence an immortui but there was something else there. He grabs a normal pen, and a notebook, maybe doing too much would take away from her being recognizable "Are you hoping to find her again?"
Santana laughs at Dani's hilarous joke of her, a normie who couldn't use her magic, protecting someone as fucking strong as her. And Elliott. But specially her. "Oh my, Dani, you're so fucking funny." She keeps laughing for a bit until she notices. "Oh wait, you were serious. Aw, that's adorable." She looked back at her own amazing illusion. "I don't know what the hell an Angelator is." She nods and shakes her head at Elliott asking her if she wants to find her, doubting."I want to know if someone knows her when she was alive. Me and Kittycat saw her at the last field mission. I think she is like the undead monsters we keep encountering. I mean, she is clearly undead, she said it herself." She says, non challant. Illusion still up. "But you know, they are all connected. Probably."
Dani doesn´t even roll her eyes. It´s Santana after all. Instead she laughs, poking her tongue out at the other for a moment. And she doesn´t even explain the Bones reference. Just thinks "Muggles" and looks back at the outline she´s drawn of the woman so far. There´s something...haunting about her eyes. Sometimes that makes her seem alive even though she´s clearly dead. Like she´s ready to stare down into their soul. "The dragon was like...hundreds of years old, maybe she is too?" She then asked, making sure to pay extra attention to the eyes as she keeps drawing before reaching for another pen. "Maybe we´ll find a picture of her in a book..."
Elliott stares at Santana for a while as she laughs, he isn't sure what is so funny, but is sort of contagious and he laughs a bit too. He looks down at the drawing a couple of times, but mostly observes the face of the woman trying to notice whatever detail would be important to represent her as she was. He nods at Dani's suggestion "Maybe that would be a good idea, compare her to old photographs too, look in book, a google search?" he asks making another line to mark where her eyes should be in the face "Are those feathers?" he asks pointing out at the illusion.

Santana thinks about it. It made sense. Maybe this bitch was super mega old like the dragon. "Do you think those things were like, alive a super long time ago and now they are back? You are right. Maybe she is soooo old no one knows anything." She shrugs. "It's worth a try, thought. I was planning on putting your drawings on the aethernet and around campus to see if anyone knew anything about her." Santana nods and makes an illusion of a white bird with blue eyes. Matching her. "Yeah! She had feathers. And before we saw this fucking ugly bird." It was important to catch up. "It talked, so at first I though it was some kind of trickster. But she was clearly not, ha..." She laughs, bitterly, glancing at her own illusion of the bitch's corpse.
Dani picks up the blue pen to devote some time to the eyes. Something tells her she has to get them right, whether Santana would be using her drawing or not. This is weird. Somehow. But if it´s going to help stopping those monsters that are trying to kill them then she´s happy to help. Or well. Glad. Maybe happy is the wrong word. "That´s a good idea," she then nods. "Even if she´s old...maybe someone´s heard her story. Knows what kind of myth or legend connects to her,"
Elliott nods giving to his drawing some shadow for the shape of the face "Were there any clues about the dragon.. or the others...?" he asks curious, he then realizes what Santana says, she thought the woman was a trickster, that's something he never thought about before, when these creatures attacked, they all defended themselves, he did too, he remembers New Year and the enormous creature. He gets lost in thought, his pen stops. What were these creatures? He never stopped to think about it, he just reacted, and now it was too late for some of them. Who were they? he corrected himself "Do you think maybe we should draw all of them? Try to find out about... you know, we have seen many now" he looks up at Santana.
Santana thinks abou how cool a name is The Myth Killers when Dani speaks. "We found the bird in the cave. It says it was its home. You know, like the dragon had like, his place. It says it lived there a fucking ton of years, but you know, I assumed it was lying lies... the woman said...something about the life she sewed together." Wich agains, all this sewing metaphors connect to the angel thingie of stitching the world together. In the end it was all about knitting. "You can't kill what's already dead... That's what it says. And that's what all the big monsters had in common! We need a cool name for them. I accept suggestions." She illusions some little monsters in front of them. Â The first Samhain one, the one she didn't see but Blaine showed her an illusion of. The big thing attacking at New Years. Marley with a tittle of "Picture not avaiable. I didn't see it and everyone saw it differently." The dragon. And the undead woman. "Those are what I know of. "
"Who knows just HOW many are out there." Dani agrees with a nod as she picks up the first pen once more, doing some corrections around the eyes before turning her attention to the feathers. "We should form an investigative group and call it "The Knitting Circle", that way nobody will get suspicious about what we´re actually doing." She puts the pen aside and then smudges the edges of the feathers a little with her fingers. When Elliott speaks up however, Dani gives him a nod. "Yeah, maybe that´s a good idea. I´ve already done a drawing of the dragon the day after the whole encounter. I had a feeling it wasn´t over..."
Elliott frowns confused about those words, they seem like riddles, everything always had to be so vague and mysterious, almost like they were part of a bigger story who needed to be solve and someone could be hitting at it breaking the fourth wall, was this joke even worth it. Either way, he keeps thinking about it "But why do we need to be secreti-" he starts asking "oh yeah memory erasure..." he bites his lower lip "Nice" he looks over at Dani's notebook waiting to see her other drawing "Oh, there is another one" he suddenly remembers "Jules told me about it" he says moving the drawing of the woman aside for a second and on the next blank page he made a quick very simple drawing of a flying creature "though I didn't personally saw this one, but it was the one from the news, in new year, a second creature appeared in Time Squares" he shows the drawing to Santana, then he looks at the line up of illusions "Is that the "mom", why is she Marley?" Â he deduces by elimination "I didn't really see it very well either" he sighs "I mean it was sort of a blob with faces... kind of super fucked up and creepy."
Santana shrugs. "The investigate group  can have many names, but I mean the monsters! What should we call them? The undead big monsters? Is just not catchy." She walks a bit to look how the drawings where going, while still maintaining the illusions. "My my, then you are going to try to draw all of them? Half Dani and half Elliott. It would be really useful. I doubt anyone took pictures, trying not to die and all that." So, the dragon was done already. Perfect. She thumbs up at Dani. "Oh no no, fuck secrets. I'm going to tell everyone about it. They can't erase my memory." She saw the flying creature thing. "Oh, true. There were other monsters at New Year. Added." Santana changed Marley to Shelby, and then to the blob. She remembers she is not supposed to super mock Ryder in case he returns she needs that friendship strong. She grins "I though it would be funny!"
"That and...well we already got strikes, if we get another poking our noses into things that aren´t supposed to be for us," Dani shrugs her shoulders. "I mean I don´t mind poking my nose into it, I just don´t want to get caught doing it. Or have my memory erased." She wipes her fingers on her jeans and puts her notebook down for a moment before pulling another one from her bag and handing it to Elliott. "It´s on the first pages. A close up and some full body sketches," she tells him.]

Open Letter to âTrumpâs Preachersâ
by Dr. Frederick Haynes III and Colleagues
Dear Colleagues in Christ:
With heartbreak, yet hope, we reach out to you in the name of our Lord and Liberator, Jesus, the Christ. It was unsettling and upsetting to witness the meeting with you, our moral leaders, and one of the most amoral persons to ever occupy the White House in the name of discussing prison reform.
We are sure it must have been intoxicating to walk the corridors of power and sit at the table of governing authority. Unfortunately, those precincts of power have been infected by white supremacy and moral bankruptcy. Dr. Cornel West is correct, âwe are in the spiritual eclipse of decency, honesty and integrity,â leaving our nation in the chaotic shadows of emboldened racism, ugly xenophobia, predatory patriarchy and unvarnished greed.â
Given your proximity to power and your âseat at the tableâ in this toxic, political climate, itâs painfully disappointing that instead of being prophetic clergy persons you became presidential cheerleaders. We could never imagine the eighth century prophets cheering the kings of Judah and Israel who were in similar political climates. We know John the Baptist wasnât content to cheer Herod on and express his gratitude and honor for a seat at the table, declaring that Herod was the most âpro-Jewish king in our lifetime.â
We need not remind you of the posture of the Prince of Peace, our Savior from the streets, when He stood before Herod and Pilate. He didnât even pray for them. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr was quoted yesterday but not emulated. Dr. King had a seat at the table at the White House, but he brought the menu of a civil and voting rights agenda to Presidents who transformed the nation.
It was errantly exclaimed that âthis is probably going to be the most pro-Black president that weâve had in our lifetimeâŚâ Were the fumes from the intoxicating toxins that strong? Was he being pro-Black while building his political platform as the number one purveyor of birtherism, which was fueled by racism? Is it pro-Black to label Black NFL players protesting racial injustice in the criminal justice system you were there to reform, âSOBs?â Thatâs what your pro-Black president did. Was he at his pro-Black finest and most eloquent when he referred to countries of color as âs-hole countries?â
Was he being pro-Black when he equivocated during the white supremacist rally and violence in Charlottesville, that left one person dead and more than a dozen injured, declaring there were âvery fine people on both sides?â Was he pro-Black when he appointed a white supremacist, Jefferson Beauregard Sessions (who was deemed too racist to be a judge by a bipartisan panel and Coretta Scott King) to serve as Attorney General? Did your cheerleading blind you to the fact that the policies of Sessions contradict and overrule the prison reform you were cheering for? Attorney General Sessions wants to stall a federal review of police departments where racial profiling, excessive use of force and racially discriminatory police practices have been exposed.
During the Obama Administration (who was disparaged during the meeting to the delight of 46-1), the Justice Department began 25 investigations into police departments and sheriffâs offices and resolved civil rights lawsuits filed against police departments in more than 15 cities. Sessions is stopping and reversing these investigations and consent decrees. Were you cheering for Trump and this Justice Department to continue to ignore the broken body of Freddie Gray in Baltimore, the last gasps of Eric Garner in New York, the slain body of Michael Brown in Ferguson, the aborted life of Tamir Rice in Ohio and so many others? Are you cheering for his âlaw and orderâ dog whistle calls that encourage over policing and underserving of our communities? You do know his attorney general also has plans to restart the âWar on Drugs,â which was really a war on Black and Brown communities!
We are sure you recognize the importance of judicial appointments in criminal justice and prison reform. The president you cheered for contradicts real reform with his appointments of judges. While purporting to be concerned about prison reform and the negative effects of mass incarceration on communities of color, Trumpâs actions demonstrate a blatant disregard for the welfare of people of color by pushing judicial nominees with disturbing records on racial equity issues into lifetime positions as judges, which will have ramifications in the lives of people of color long after he has left the White House. Of the 87 judicial nominations Trump has made, 80 are whites who have made careers in undermining civil rights, while only one is African-American.
We understand that the stated intent of the White House has been to focus its criminal justice reform efforts on improving re-entry, rehabilitation and workforce training programs. Thatâs nice, but if you have a room filled with spider webs wouldnât you clean the webs AND remove the spider? You cheered him on for removing a few webs, but you didnât prophetically challenge him to remove the spiders of sentencing reform, ending the money bail system, profiteering from prisons, and the caste system who author, Michelle Alexander insightfully deconstructs in her book, The New Jim Crow. One of the biggest and most venomous spiders is the school to prison pipeline that begins with expulsions of Black and Brown children from school. Expulsions push our children into juvenile court systems and they commence their passage through the pipeline to prison.
Since youâve been selected to serve on the front-lines of prison reform, as your colleagues, who have been doing this work and fighting to eliminate the spiders of injustice, we would be remiss if we didnât give you resources for your new assignment. We encourage you to read the aforementioned, The New Jim Crow. And Paul Butlerâs, Chokehold. He documents and declares how police officers, politicians, and ordinary people are afraid of Black men. The result is the chokehold: laws and practices that treat every African-American man like a thug. The former federal prosecutor shows that the system is working exactly the way itâs supposed to. Black men are always under watch, and police violence is widespreadâall with the support of judges and politicians.
Add to your justice edification Bryan Stevensonâs Just Mercy. Stevenson is a gifted attorney who is engaged in the work of criminal justice reform and testifies that mercy can be redemptive and offers a challenge and tools for fixing this broken system that has resulted in destroying lives, dismantling families and devastating our communities.
Our beloved colleagues, the leader of the free world you met with has a contagious narcissism that has given him a Messiah complex. Please remind him of the first-person pronouns that saturate the model prayer, âOur,â âusâ and âwe.â No one can overhaul the criminal justice system alone. Remember the wisdom of the Apostle Paul, âI planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase.â The flowering of criminal justice reform will require all of our hands for this great work.
Our dear colleagues, the man you met with yesterday during his divisive and incendiary campaign asked the Black community repeatedly, âWhat do you have to lose?â In less than two years weâve lost a lot and you have become his cheerleaders with a collar.
We are praying for you. We invite you to join us in dialogue that will prophetically challenge the poison of Trumpâs politics, while we work to develop our underserved communities. We are called to speak truth to power. May God give us the courage and power to tell the truth.

Holmesâ interview with actress and director Halle Berry. The hour also features interviews with actresses Debbie Allen, JackĂŠe Harry, Marla Gibbs and Regina Hall; and entertainment reporters who look back at the first milestones for Black women in Hollywood, discussing the triumphs, the obstacles and those who blazed the trail. The special includes the return of the fan-favorite âIn the Kitchenâ discussion moderated by âThe Viewâ co-host Sunny Hostin. âSoul of a Nation Presents: Screen Queens Risingâ airs Thursday, Feb. 3 (8:00-9:00 p.m. EST), on ABC.

Green and independent historian Abdur-Rahman Muhammad, as well as A. Peter Bailey, a friend and associate of Malcolm X who was at the Audubon Ballroom on the day of the assassination. The special also includes interviews with those who conducted the joint reinvestigation that ultimately led to Azizâs exoneration in November 2021, including Azizâs civil rights attorneys David Shanies and Deborah Francois, Innocence Project attorney Vanessa Potkin and former Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr., who was interviewed by ABC News chief justice correspondent Pierre Thomas.
