Hiiiiii omg your head canons for the fellowship are so cuttteeee I love it. Do you think you could write how the members of the fellowship would be around a character who has a dragon companion? I’m sorry I know that is soooo weird but I literally love dragons so much and Lotr so y’know. Preferably a f reader or just Gn. Sorry if that’s weird and no pressure!!!!🫶🫶
What a fun prompt! I’ve literally thought about this before. I’m picturing you show up at Rivendell just casually with your dragon. Totally breathes fire because that’s cool as shit.
How the Fellowship reacts to a dragon companion
Aragorn:
-Has to do a double take
-wtf
-He’s a chill dude, but this feels unhinged
-He will introduce himself with you only once you’re not with your fire friend
-Once you introduce the two he’s back to his chill self and act like this is totally normal
Legolas:
-Fascinated, and immediately introduces himself to you and your dragon
-Elves have a way with nature and animals so I don’t think he would be scared
-Wary, maybe, but he just wants to pet it
-He sees is as a big puppy
-Will tell you a billion dragon facts
Gimli:
-Listen, dwarves have a bad record with dragons
-Doesn’t trust you, and certainly can’t believe the “beast” could be friendly
-Keeps his distance and is definitely a bit cold to you like he is to Legolas, at first
-He eventually warms up to you but still doesn’t like your companion
-The dragon wouldn’t hurt him, but he doesn’t know that, and the dragon totally takes advantage of that and will scare him
-“I don’t like the way it looks at me”
-Big “it don’t bite, yes it do!” energy
Boromir:
-I just feel like he would not care
-He would be casual about it like the cave troll
-Totally sees the advantage of having a literal fucking dragon on their team
-Talks to it like a person
Frodo:
-You thought his eyes were big before? Well guess what? They are literal saucers
-Mostly knows only of Smaug so he doesn’t have a particularly positive view on the species
-But he’s also nothing if not curious
-Asks you so many questions
-This I think applies to all the hobbits except maybe Sam, but it would be so cute if they cuddled up with the dragon at night to keep warm
Sam:
-Big nope
-He’s heard Bilbo’s stories
-His main priority is keeping Frodo safe
-Probably wouldn’t warm up until he saw Frodo petting it with a big smile
-Would ask if it wants a bowl of stew when you all settle for the night
-Worried it might eat him if he doesn’t keep it fed
Merry:
-Guess what?! You now have a new biggest fan! Congrats!
-No fear in this hobbit
-Maybe that’s not a good thing, but he’s a confident boy
-“Hypothetically how would one go about acquiring such a creature?” “You can’t have a dragon Merry” “…I was asking for a friend”
-Will brag about knowing you and that he’s friends with a dragon when they eventually get back to the shire
Pippin:
-?????
-So confused
-He must have smoked too much and is now hallucinating
-Once he gets over that shock, he’s probably the type to watch from afar, but weary to ask to pet it
-“Do you think we could roast marshmallows with its breath?”
-It’s a genuine question. And yes, the answer is yes
-That is if you like your marshmallows burnt and basically disintegrated
Gandalf:
-He probably invited you to the council
-Wary because he knows what dragons are capable of, but trusts you so therefore he trusts your judgment
-He’s got his eagles, you’ve got your dragon, unstoppable duo
*Bonus Elrond:
-“Um…whatcha got there?” “A smoothie”
-Wouldn’t let you in until Gandalf convinced him
-Then he just decides he’s seen so much shit that he shouldn’t even be surprised anymore by anything
I definitely don’t love all of these answers, some feel ooc, so as always I may edit when I get a different idea. It’s like how my mind will be blank when doing an assignment but the second I submit it I have so many better answers

hi there spring! :D i'm the anon who made the thranduil hcs request, and they are so so lovely, thank you so much💗
um i don't know if you write poly relationships, so feel free to ignore this request if you don't do that.. but if you do, may i request some fluffy headcanons about how thorin, bilbo, and a male dwarf reader might settle down together after the trip to the lonely mountain? (also thorin is alive in this au because canon is painful and he deserves to be happy dang it :^3)
Wahh thank you so much the requests <3 I have no problem with doing poly as long as it's like a paring that's healthy/I like ! ❤
° it definitely took you and Thorin time to adjust to living in the shire, though it's peaceful and the perfect place to relax after such a long, tiring and dangerous journey.
° once Bilbo got all his belongings back from the other hobbits, he rearranged things so there was room for yours and Thorins things, even buying weapon stands !
° Thorin at first is still recovering from his injuries, you and Bilbo have to practically tie him down so he'll rest because he kept wanting to help in the garden, making food, unpacking, everything.
° Bilbo insisted you two get your own armchairs, it was very important to him that you and Thorin had a lovely place to sit and read, or smoke.
° Thorin really enjoys gardening, he gets pretty competitive about it to!! He'll grumble sometimes about how his vegetables are far better than a neighbors, that he took better care of his garden than them. You and Bilbo find it adorable
° hearing you and Thorin sing is absolutely something Bilbo loves, he'll sit in his living room, on his beloved armchair, just listening to your songs fill his home. It's precious to him and he has no problem letting you and Thorin know that
° the biggest thing was having to get a new bed for you all to comfortably sleep on!!! The first few weeks had a lot of sleepless nights caused by accidentally elbowing each other, yours and Thorins beards getting in Bilbos face, as well as trying to be careful with Thorins injuries.
° Bilbo did get a much bigger bed, you all have plenty of room to lay comfortably but of course you still cuddle, Bilbo quite likes being snuggled between the two of you, despite him complaining about your beards being scratchy at times.
° the other hobbits are really confused by you and Thorin but are polite, it's just not common to see dwarves everyday but they adjust. And they definitely like how you guys party!
° also when Frodo is born, he has three uncles now and he brags about it when he's a little kid. Frodo will be like "oh yeah well uncle Thorin was actually a king so we're rich :3" "all my uncles fought a dragon and survived!"
° he's you three's biggest fan and loves braiding Thorins hair, and yours if it's long enough!

More facts about "Smaug, The Golden" and a review of The Hobbit and Greed.
— Modus Operandi of Smaug —
Smaug dreamed, or had a nightmare, of Bilbo (after Bilbo first entered the Chamber and stole a Cup). Smaug dreamed of:
"A warrior, altogether insignificant in size but provided with a bitter sword and great courage, figured most unpleasantly" — The Hobbit, book.
Later Smaug is enraged when he wakes up and realizes there are intruders (whom he judges to be Lake-Town humans). After roaming around the mountain, eating the Company ponies acquired in Lake-Town (and knowing that they were ridden by dwarves) the dragon returns to the mountain and PRETENDS to sleep, while waiting for someone to return to the hall, knowing that there are still intruders there to steal him again.
Then Bilbo goes down the tunnel a second time and both exchange the dialogue that inspired the movie scene (althoug have changes in the dialogue, the basis is the same).
Smaug can sleep with his eyes open, smell and feel the air where Bilbo walks. Bilbo is startled when realizes that the dragon is awake and talking to him:
"Well thief! I smell you and I feel your air. I hear your breath. Come along! Help yourself again, there is plenty and to spare!" — The Hobbit, book.
Bilbo is astute at doing Riddles (he knows it's not a good idea to reveal his name, just as it's not wise not to answer Smaug's questions. So he finds a middle ground by making Riddles, which was smart because it ends up interesting the Dragon, rather than boring him), knowing that doing so would intrigue the dragon, who was already curious because not to recognize the scent of a Hobbit.
Bilbo also uses flattery, which Smaug loves even though knows Bilbo is lying. The dragon's voice and majesty are mesmerizing, and he tries to weave distrust in Bilbo's heart against the dwarves (and succeeds, even though Bilbo tries to remain loyal).
Both Bilbo and Smaug have an "polite" talk. But no more.
— Smaug Personality —
Smaug is most specially greedy, strong and wicked. He has vast knowledge about all the treasure he has (so much so that he missed the Cup that Bilbo took), the dragon delights in unraveling riddles, is a great conversationalist, adore to hear his own voice and brag about himself, and can manipulate his victims through speech almost like an incantation (Bilbo tries hard not to reveal anything in front of Smaug's grandeur and his inquiring voice, but even so the Hobbit lets slip that he wasn't alone, although the dragon already knew, Bilbo lets slip about "barrels" too, and finally the Hobbit talks about the "revenge!" which some crave against versus Smaug).
Smaug is a spiteful and vengeful dragon, presumptuous (he laughs and scorns when Bilbo speaks of Revenge, and he plans to take his anger out on Lake-Town, given that they helped the intruders), in addition, the dragon having a confidence, superb and tremendous self-esteem (ignoring, oblivious and underestimating his weaknesses and opponents, which causes his death).
— Size of Smaug —
He was so big that his head didn't fit into the passage through which Bilbo entered (which was 5 feet and three could walk in it side by side).
In addition he seems to be able to swing the mountain and things like that, he destroyed Lake-Town with ease (killing almost half of the city in his attack) and when he falls on the place he destroys what was still standing (unless book such claims are hyperbole). And there is this:
"My armor is like tenfold shields, my teeth are swords, my claws spears, the shock of my tail is a thunderbolt, my wings a hurricane, and my breath death!". — The Hobbit, book.
Apart from hypotheses, and a probable letter from Tolkien, about his size: The book itself NEVER reveals Smaug real size. And in the drawings made, Tolkien says it are out of proportion.
I always pictured Smaug as huge (although I pictured him as Golden, given his title name "Smaug, the Golden", even though in the drawing in the book he is, in fact, red). Most likely the "golden" refers to the glow of all the golden wealth in Smaug's red skin (besides what is embedded in while he sleeps on top of the fortune) or maybe he's REALLY part red and part golden. Lmao.
— About the Interaction Between Bilbo and Smaug —
Bilbo's confidence against the Dragon. He was afraid, but there is also a moment where he enters the chamber (for the first time, I think) where he is afraid, goes ahead anyway and after seeing all the wealth he seems so delighted what he FORGOTTEN the dragon for a few seconds.
(and remember that in the book the dragon was on top of the treasure, while in the film it was sleeping under and submerged. That Bilbo forgot the dragon in front of his sight, shows how momentarily the hobbit was enchanted by the treasure).
When Bilbo picks up the Arkenstone (after the dragon leaves) Bilbo is also drawn to the stone as if by an enchantment, he doesn't know exactly why he does this (but he accuses himself of being a thief, so something in his behavior gives him away).
So for me, when Bilbo talks about "revenge!" (against the dragon) it's more of a scene where he's confident and full of himself, but then he realizes himself that "you shouldn't mock live dragons, Bilbo fool" (or something like that).
— The Greed/Gold Disease —
What I mean? Well, something was wrong with Smaug and that treasure. Bilbo is the first to be enchanted, as well as the first to realize that all the riches there are worth nothing really important. There is an enchantment, and when Bilbo says, in the book, that the place "stinks of dragon" just when Thorin, Thranduil and Bard are almost at war over the mountain's spoils, it seems to me that he is referring not only to the smell alone, but that "something" of aura still permeates that place.
That's why I interpret the "revenge!" of Bilbo as a recklessness motivated, if not by the dragon, by the aura that makes everyone feel self-centered and indestructible there (be it the Dragon himself, be it Bilbo, be it Thorin later, or Thranduil and Bard).
Bilbo may have been enchanted, but later he becomes sensible when he realizes that there are more important things than treasure, starting with life. But not only that, Bilbo realizes that he would trade all the mountain's treasure for his "hole in the ground", his peace, tranquility and comfort.
"If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world" Hobbit, book.
So when the others are fighting over the Mountain's Spoil, Bilbo is above them in realizing that greed is getting the better of everyone around. And Bilbo is the only one who can see this because he is the only one who is no longer in the grip of greed (with the extra exception of Gandalf, who also thought that Thorin, Thranduil and Bard were going too far).
— A Foolish Plan —
Bilbo's plan is an idiotic plan, he plans to use the Arkenstone as a "hostage" and then force Thorin to pay Bard and Thranduil. But it's a stupid plan because even if Thorin complied, his heart would still be full of hatred and distrust, the dwarven, elven and human kingdoms never understood each other, and Thorin would harbor a grudge against them, and because their kingdoms are very close, commercial relations and all it would be bad between them.
Very likely the strife of war would come upon them in the near future.
It wouldn't work out in the long run. And neither was the short term, as Dáin's army was coming and Thorin planned to fight, whatever the circumstances.
Okay, Bilbo's plan was foolish. But I forgive him because Bilbo did everything with the best of intentions. Bilbo wanted the best for everyone and didn't want anyone to get hurt (not the dwarves or humans or elves).
Even if Bilbo's plan was idiotic and foolish, he was the only one there who was trying to avoid unnecessary bloodshed. His plan was foolish, but his intentions were noble.
That's why what scares us the most is not Bilbo using the stone as a hostage and "betraying Thorin", what scares us the most is that Thorin was so mad that he was trying capable of killing a friend/ hobbit over a silly stone.
—The Ending and Moral of the Story —
And even Bilbo, with his best intentions, is no mean protagonist. Bilbo acknowledges at the end that he "made a mess of that stone thing". Bilbo recognizes his mistakes and that he didn't have the best of ideas, although his intentions were noble, he really made a mess.
In the end, what really unites them all is the need to join forces against a common enemy, making them realize that it was silly to fight for the spoils when they could do more together...
...Dwarves, Elves and Humans (with a little help from the Eagles) unite against the Army of Orks and Wargs, getting rid of the disease of greed. Although there are consequences and deaths, in the end, remains the legacy of unity and friendship Between people in front adversity (But obviously there are other lessons throughout the book/movies besides this one).

lovesick fools
pairing: bilbo baggins / reader
word count: 2279
summary: reader and bilbo think that the other harbors a crush on thorin, and the dwarven king is the only one who can smash their heads together hard enough to make them see sense
a/n: this is my january fic for both @oonajaeadira & @writeforfandoms and the year of themed creation challenge i joined! this month’s theme is “requited love but they’re idiots” & the overarching theme for the year is “the year of idiots”
another a/n: reader’s race/gender/appearance are left ambiguous. also jsyk i’m a sucker for idiots to lovers, it’s literally my favorite trope
you learned the hard way to not ask if things could get worse. when you muttered the cursed phrase after narrowly avoiding turning to warg chow, the offense and abject horror on the dwarves’ faces made you think someone had died.
“oh, you’ve done it now!” dwalin grumbled, continuing to complain in angry khuzdul as the company of thorin oakenshield took a moment to breathe after running for their lives yet again.
instead of acknowledging dwalin’s bitching, you slumped against a shady tree, letting your breathing slow down so the rest of your body could catch up. if you had known that the journey to reclaim erebor would include this much running, you would have fought a lot harder to keep the ponies that ran away ages ago.
in the distance, you could see nori and dori tending to their littlest brother, ori giving them both half-hearted swats away from their prodding. bifur and bofur were gathering wood for a fire to cook a quick meal, and you heard thorin delegate the task of hunting to his nephews.
thorin and bilbo were otherwise enthralled in conversation, their attention solely focused on each other. you couldn’t decipher any words or tones from your slouched position, simply noting that it was significantly less hostile than their previous interactions. they were situated so close together you’d be hard pressed to slide one of fili’s daggers between the two without nicking one of them. the only reason this rankled you more than it should have is that a week ago, bilbo wouldn’t have been caught dead sitting so close to the king, damn near snuggling him.
after bilbo risked his life to save thorin from azog, the latter gained a deeper respect for the company’s burglar. it seems that this newfound respect and acceptance made your dear hobbit more bold in showing affection to thorin.
you could almost feel your skin turning green with envy of the dwarf’s position, curling that close to bilbo and sharing hushed whispers with the same intimacy you’ve been craving to receive since before the trolls.
a nagging part of your brain told you that the tight embrace they shared on the carrock was a bit more than a gesture of friendship. the rest of your brain (the parts with common sense) told it to shut up, rationalizing that it was an act of camaraderie in the throes of emotion. but getting your thoughts to silence themselves was as likely as getting gloin to stop bragging about his dear gimli.
the underbrush surrounding you and your tree are ruffled around as you’re joined by balin. he eases himself to the ground beside you without a word, knowing that he’s always welcome company. the smug bastard.
“are ye tryin’ ta finish the defiler’s task for him?” you give the older dwarf a look of confusion, not knowing what he meant. his soft laugh mildly jabs at your nerves, unsure of his meaning and now growing insecure. “if looks could kill, fíli would be king under the mountain before we even reach it.”
of course, the one dwarf that put himself in your presence was the only one who made a habit of not speaking plainly. an eye roll conveys this frustration and he clarifies. “your eyes bear the same ferocity as the drake’s roar and are just as deadly as his fire, and they’re aimed directly at thorin.”
well now you’ve gone and done it, offending balin and openly showing animosity towards thorin. you’d be lucky to remain in the company at this rate once thorin finds out.
you’re sputtering through hasty, fearful apologies. it was your fault for not realizing that your feelings were on display to that magnitude, and now you were trying to cover your ass to keep from being booted from the company in the closest town.
balin, the ever observant dwarf, notices this budding anxiety and rests a calming hand on your shoulder as he continues. “matters of the heart are rather tricky, and while i’m not one to meddle in the lives of others, i can give some sound advice if asked.”
balin not meddling? that’s a pile of shit if you’ve ever heard one. next to nori and bofur, the eldest son of fundin was the biggest meddler this side of the misty mountains. you half expected there to be a gossiper’s guild established once the mountain was restored.
“then tell me, master dwarf, what is your advice?” you didn’t mean to snap at him so, but your temper flared when bilbo and thorin seemed to scoot even closer to each other than they already were. once again, you apologize for your rashness.
he hummed in thought, shooing your hand away gently with a knowing smile that had a frightening resemblance to gandalf’s. “tell him how you feel, no matter how grim the current situation seems to be. even if his answer is not what you wish, he will not let it interfere with the quest or your role in it.”
that made sense… almost.
not even the most ardent love such as yours would sway the stalwart bilbo baggins from his commitment to the company. when he gives his word, it’s guaranteed to be kept. why would admitting your feelings to bilbo even hypothetically derail either of you from the objective? he didn’t have a personal stake in the quest outside of his promise, only the kindness of his heart and tookish sense of adventure kept him on the road to erebor. kept him with you.
rationally, the only person who had a true say in who stayed or left the company was thorin. he was the exiled prince, the future king, the leader of this quest. his word was law; he could order you to walk on your hands and eat with your feet the rest of the journey and you’d be obligated to comply.
…wait a minute, did balin think you harbored affection for thorin?
you didn’t know what was worse, balin believing the falsehood or knowing where your heart truly lies. only time would tell.
“simply put, i haven’t the slightest idea what to do!”
bilbo’s been lamenting on and on about you to thorin for nearly thirty minutes. didn’t even ask to sit next to him by the fire, just plopped himself down, scooted in close, and began his woeful soliloquy.
while thorin respects the hobbit and appreciates his friendship, he’s just about had it. each time you and bilbo catch each other’s eyes, every soft word you exchange, it gets repeated back to him in a level of detail only found in the romance novels dwalin pretends to loathe.
to thorin, the solution to bilbo’s problem is simple: he needs to give you a gift worthy of your hand while stating his intentions towards you. maybe a little bit of affection while he was at it. he didn’t understand the nuance that bilbo kept applying to courting you, especially since you would accept anything given to you by the genteel hobbit.
back in rivendell, he caught you gazing at bilbo with gentle longing and pure intentions. despite every feeble attempt made to hide your feelings from the dwarf king, he called you on them far too quick for your liking and swore to keep your secret.
shortly after, bilbo asked him for advice on how to court you. the advice was given with a smile, hoping that it would be taken eagerly and no one else would have to deal with the lovesick fools dancing around each other.
he hoped in vain because here bilbo was, asking the same questions as if thorin would miraculously give a different answer.
thorin groans, pinching the bridge of his nose in resigned exasperation. this was almost worse than the trolls. “i’ve already given you my thoughts on the matter, bilbo. whether you use that information to your advantage is solely up to you.”
bilbo’s eyes nearly popped from his skull. he was quick to begin hushing the dwarf (the nerve!) and placing himself even further into thorin’s personal space. “i beg of you, thorin, keep your voice down!”
a handful of the others looked on, wondering why bilbo exclaimed so loud when thorin was simply talking.
“i’ll keep my voice down when you tell me something that not every man here already knows,” thorin scoffed at the hobbit, almost talking louder out of spite. “quite frankly, i have half a mind to take care of this problem myself.”
f and k return from hunting, both of them laden with plenty of meat and a few foraged bits and come upon the edge of chaos. their uncle and their burglar are locked in a staring contest fueled by frustration and fear. barring your fiery glare towards the two, the others are suspended in anticipation, eyes flitting back and forth between their king and their burglar.
neither of them can find it in themselves to be ashamed of the way they flinch when you storm away from your tree and towards thorin. you’re right scary when your features are pulled into a scowl that rivals the pale orc.
“what did we just walk into, fee?”
“i believe the proper term for this situation is ‘shitshow’, brother.”
you push your way between thorin and bilbo and plant your feet firmly, your eyes nearly setting thorin on fire with the same intensity balin noted earlier. “you don’t have to take care of a damned thing, your majesty.” everyone flinches at the malice laced into the honorific. none of them ever heard you speak with such vitriol in your voice and it was rather jarring.
“i know what you and bilbo have been scheming about, so save your breath.” bilbo’s pained gasp almost made you turn around and hug your dearest friend until he was laughing again. but you were furious and determined, a lethal combination when targeted at a specific someone and you couldn’t stop now.
thorin’s confusion and frustration was palpable. “what could you possibly be referring to? there’s been no scheming done by anyone here!”
“don’t take me for a fool, oakenshield! your intentions with bilbo are clear!”
“and just what might those be?”
you growl in fury as you lay the accusation bare. “you intend to court him, make him consort of erebor! even after everything i told you!” tears are fighting to escape but you push them back. you can’t cry yet, not before you make your feelings clear. “i confided in you, you were my friend! how dare you!” with every word a finger is harshly jabbed into his chest.
every other dwarf was shouting over another, trying to make heads or tails of your words. the anticipation gave way to confusion, no one knowing where to start. thorin and bilbo as king and consort? but what about your feelings for thorin? wait, doesn’t bilbo have feelings for you? where was thorin’s heart in all this?
you had tear tracks on your face despite your valiant efforts to keep them at bay. bilbo had a hand pressed to his mouth as he sat himself back on the ground, struggling to keep himself together. thorin’s company was going back and forth with no end to the bickering in sight.
thorin was pissed.
“enough!”
near complete silence followed thorin’s shout, broken only by the occasional sniffles of you and bilbo.
thorin turned to face you, resting a hand on your shoulder and hoping you wouldn’t shrug it off. “i am sorry for leading you to believe i would ever betray your trust in such a fashion.” his eyes met bilbo’s for a moment. when the hobbit nodded solemnly, thorin continued. “bilbo’s been seeking my advice for a while now on how to go about courting you. unfortunately for everyone, the lovesick fool hasn’t done anything to follow said advice.”
“i only see you as a friend, both of you. you’re important members of this company and have grown into admirable companions.” thorin offers a hand to bilbo, encouraging him to stand and face you. “now for the sake of my sanity, please profess your love for each other so we don’t have to deal with your constant yearning anymore!” with that, thorin walks away and shoos the others off to give you both space.
your eyes meet bilbo’s. every negative feeling is now replaced with hope, your heart mending itself just as quick as it broke. the pad of his thumb gently brushes away the fresh tears that were about to fall, his smile soft and eyes kind. “i’m afraid that the oaf of a king is right, i do love you. i love you most ardently, my dear. and i apologize that i didn’t have the courage to tell you sooner.”
“there’s nothing to forgive,” your head leans gently into his hand, enjoying the affection that you’ve been craving for so long. “i love you too, bilbo, so much.” you both leaned in and stole a tender kiss, finally able to indulge the way you deserved.
in the not-so-distant distance, the others were being their usual loud selves trying to watch you without letting you catch them. they weren’t doing that well of a job. you hear slightly muffled whoops and coin bags jingling as they’re swapped between the rest of the company. most of them were going to thorin despite the fireless grunts about cheating.
“the gall of those dwarves! they placed bets on us!” bilbo’s offended huff made you laugh. your hobbit admired the way your eyes scrunched, surprising even himself with the way he snags another kiss from your smiling lips. the courage of hobbits, indeed.

Hi! This is for the Ship description thing from the Group Chat. I’m an Autistic Bisexual Woman, and a Writer and Craftsman who draws, writes, bakes bread, keeps way too many journals tbh, and I’ve recently gotten into smithing and sewing, as well! I’ve been described as many things, ranging from “Merry Brandybuck or Aragorn Vibes” to “Owl-like”, and I know myself very well.
I’m 4’ 11” (149.86 cm) tall with messy brown hair, crooked glasses, light blue eyes, pale skin covered in moles and scabs, with freckles on my arms and shoulders. I always seem to bundle up no matter the season, and I love sweaters and my wool-lined corduroy jacket.
I grew up in the Mountains, and I also have a ridiculously good sense of Intuition to the point where I can feel when it’s going to rain before it even really happens, and I have yet to be proven wrong in my weather predictions. It’s hard to describe, I can just kinda feel it in the air, I guess. My love language is absolutely Gift Giving, as I love making and getting my loved ones things that remind me of them, and I have a habit of collecting books, gemstones and sentimental items. My interests include Writing and Craftsmanship, Ireland, Fantasy and Tolkien, Witchcraft and Spirits, Classical Literature, and certain Aesthetics like Dark Academia or Cottagecore. I'm Excitable, Curious, Creative, Intelligent, Kind, Aloof at times, Introverted, Nervous, Silly at times, “Wise beyond my years”, Oddly Mature for my age, Eloquent, sometimes Depressed, Career-oriented, Largely Focused on self-betterment. Sorry this is so long, but thank you so much in advance!
i ship you with thorin!
headcannons:
* thorin thinks your height is absolutely adorable (even though you aren’t that much shorter than him), resulting in:
* endless forehead kisses
* oh you got a papercut? thorin will carry you to the infirmary
* ranting about your hyperfixations while thorin looks on lovingly “that’s my girl”
* you become great friends with thorin’s sister dís, and she helps you plan your wedding

* your weather intuition contrasts humorously with thorin’s lack of direction
* you have so many khuzdul nicknames!!! (his favorite for you is ghivashel- treasure of all treasures)
* thorin loves giving you gemstones he finds around erebor to add to your collection
* he crafts many things for you: jewelry, chainmail, trinkets, you name it!
* you are total besties with bilbo, you go to him to complain about thorin’s hard-headedness
* you write beautiful, romantic poems for thorin and he is blown away every time
* and if he wipes away a tear or two after you’re done reading, well you don’t mention it
* he LOVES to brag about you to anyone who will listen
* since you are queen under the mountain, you get nervous during meetings and such, but thorin is always there to sooth you with secretive under-the-table hand holding
* whenever you get insecure or overwhelmed, you always have a pep talk on hand
* you are amazing, beautiful, intelligent, talented, and more, and thorin never lets you forget that!
* whenever thorin gets stressed about his duties as king, you are always there with sage advice
* you give him the tough love he needs to hear
* when thorin is having trouble sleeping (nightmares, overthinking) you read him tales from his childhood
* thorin tries to learn to knit so he can make you sweaters,, he is not very successful, but hey it’s the thought that counts!
* thorin braiding your hair!!!!!!!!!!!
* thorin finding your love of learning so endearing
* he tells you whatever you want to know about middle earth, dwarves, etc
* you learning khuzdul!!!!!!
* you being a human (with the lifespan difference and whatnot) is a subject of anxiety at first, but after nearly dying, thorin learns that time with loved ones is precious, and he wants to spend that time with you
* “not even mahal himself could keep me from you”
(you’re the only one who can make him smile like this)

🍇🍍🍪🍕 for the whole bunch <3
Aces- amethyst dragonborn fighter thembo. A little crude but amicable and friendly. They decided the weird gremlin group they found are now their friends forever. Honestly? Aces personality is like if you crossed a golden retriever with a possum and then gave it sentience.
🍇What sort of friend are they? Where are they in the group dynamics?
Aces may be a little slow on the uptake but they're very dependable. If you want a shoulder to cry on they'd let you, and then they'd ask if you wanted some soup, and/or for them to go beat up your problems.
🍍Where does your OC feel most comfortable?
Generally anywhere, they're very chill and easy going. They don't like loud noises for extended periods though, it's a sensory nightmare so don't ask them to go to the club. Because they'll agree, because they like hanging out with you, and then they'll be miserable after about half an hour but they won't say anything, and then when they get home they'll have a major headache and need to lie down in a quiet dark place for a bit.
🍪What is sentimental to your OC?
Aces hasn't got any items they consider sentimental but their fighting style is unique, having been passed down through their family
🍕How does your OC spend a lazy day?
As a jock thembo they work out shirtless. And bake bread or make something tasty bc they like to cook and they're good at it.
Adelaide- she's described in more detail in a previous ask but she's a soft spoken psi-touched halfling rogue.
🍇: Big sister vibes. She's the eldest in her family and she is a very supportive and positive person. She likes to see the best in everyone but honestly she trusts way too easily. It doesn't occur to her to lie about things so she never thinks someone else would lie either.
🍍: Wherever she's able to be sort of hidden away, or back in her family's home, or hanging out with her friends. She's not super good at dealing with social situations but that doesn't stop her from trying.
🍪: answered in a previous ask!
🍕: Hang out with one of her friends and ask them about their hobbies, try out new things to see if she likes them, buy poisons
Mal- half elven bard who has an attitude and a love of the finer things in life. Her gf turned into a goddess and now she brags about banging her. Once got fake engaged to like 50 people at the same time at the request of an archfey (to repay a favor) and then pulled a a Bilbo Baggins 111th birthday trick by throwing a big party, inviting them all, revealing the trick, and then disappearing.
🍇: Mal is *Lizzo Voice* One hundred percent that bitch. She won't admit she's even friends with you, you're just somebody she knows or something. But if anyone threatens her friends she will hold a grudge until the END OF TIME
🍍: In the spotlight, at the center of attention, she's an attention whore and she is NOT sorry or ashamed of it
🍪: Sentimentality is gross no thank you, how dare you imply Mal has ever had feelings about anything, disgusting (do not mention the way she stares off into the firelight with a fond, sad smile some nights. She will cut you)
🍕: Spa day pampering and indulging in all her favorite self care stuff, eating tasty food, maybe a bit of window shopping and casual pickpocketing
Murk- agender firbolg cleric. Gently slaps the firbolg this character can fit so much trauma in them. They've got my most traumatic backstory. They're also very, very sweet, and technically a pirate.
🍇: Mom friend. Wants to make sure you're hydrating and getting enough sleep. Mordin was a role model when I was crafting their personality (I'm a healer, but- meme)
🍍: sitting and sipping tea, surrounded by plants.
🍪: they haven't got anything they can say is sentimental bc they had to leave everything they had behind but they're very attached to the ship and people who are on it.
🍕: tend to their small garden and the shrine to their deity, read some books, ANY books.
Tu'an- half elven barbarian, she is unbothered, her skin is flawless, she has great hair. She's down to fight and/or fuck just about anyone. Tu'an is surprisingly laid back for a barbarian, she's rarely ever actually angry. She also has a pretty tragic backstory, but she was also like, one of the first dnd characters I ever made.
🍇: go with the flow friend and also the one who encourages you to do the most impulsive shit. She's here for a good time not a long time, probably.
🍍: fighting, for fun or for profit. Also in bars and taverns, usually provoking assholes into throwing the first punch
🍪: that's dangerous territory, because all her rage stems from a major loss, and its too painful for her to keep anything.
🍕: sleep in til noon, eat a big meal, go find somebody to pester, wrestle shirtless
Ven- a pale elf from Luz, a barbarian/druid. She's Elle Woods but mean. Her family is from a part of Luz that hasn't been conquered bc it's a forest full of feral militant elves who worship a tree and drink it's sap. As a result her people are so pale they're partly translucent, and their blood and veins are golden. Part of her rite of passage into a full fledged protector of her people is to go out and commit domestic terrorism against the Luz government.
🍇: she's the mean lesbian of the group. She doesn't know how to be outright nice, but if she likes you then she will commit unspeakable acts of violence for you.
🍍: in the woods, surrounded by nature, and in beast form. People are less likely to be annoying at her if she's a bear.
🍪: Sentimentality will get you killed.
🍕: Lazy days will also get you killed.

20 Questions
Oh dear... I’m soo late with this one as well...but, hi!
I was tagged by: @phantomessangel
1) Name: Classified (but if you are looking for a nickname than Griffin works. That one is from an old writing pen name that I used to have when I’d write a lot of fanfiction. And since you already know my real name, Kayleigh, I figure its all good.)
2) Nicknames: Griffin (Other than that, there is really nothing besides that one time a super annoying scary creepy idiot of a boy who was determined to call me, Liz. Ugh. Liz. I hate that.)
3) Not too tall, and not too short. Maybe 5′3? Not too sure. I never measure myself, and when it comes to getting my ID renewed at the DMV, well... I constantly guess... so as long as it is not something so ridiculous as 6 ft, well, they don’t look too deeply into that sort of info.
4) Orientation: Straight
5) Nationality: American (but I am ancestors from all over Europe... Some Irish, Danish, and maybe Germany?)
6) Oranges
7) Favorite Season: Winter because it means that I won’t melt.
8) Favorite flower: hmmm.... my Achilles heel is Orchids. Usually they die on me after a couple of weeks but I keep going back because I’m in love with ‘em. They are beautiful and exotic.
9) Favorite Scent: Vanilla Extract. Tho I particularly enjoy the essential oil called Anxiety Ease, by Edens Garden.
10) Favorite Color: Orange but I am also particular to shades of colors that fit well together like pinks and purples vs oranges and reds
11) Favorite Animal: Cats, Dogs, Betta fish, lions, tigers, frogs, eagles, wolves, buffalo.
12) Coffee, tea, Hot Chocolate: Hot Chocolate for sure. Though one time I accidentally had a coffee. I was trying out my (ex) community college’s food spots. They had two cafes and I was excited to find out that there is such a thing as White Hot Chocolate. I was trying out one of the cafes... A language barrier kind of mucked the order of hot chocolate up. The lovely lady behind the counter...well, her first language wasn’t English. And as for me, I really am not well acquainted with cafe lingo. A question occurred while she was making my drink. And I left with what I thought was hot chocolate. I burnt my tongue on the first sip. And so naturally, I thought to myself that that was why the drink tasted slightly unusual. But I keep sipping as I slowly walk to my next class. I take my time. But I still feel a bit suspicious. Eventually I asked my fellow students about it... I really did think that coffee was supposed to be bitter but I later find out that no, there really is many different types of coffee. So I stop drinking just to be safe. The class starts. I understood more in that class than I had ever understood before. So yeah, it was coffee. And I think that it was one of those mocha latte drinks.)
13) Average Hours of Sleep: 11 hours is preferred, though lately I have been making due with 8 hrs
14) Cat or Dog Person: Both.
15) Favorite Fictional Character: Huh... its too many to count, really. But I really adore Luna Lovegood. And I like Hermione Granger too. But there is this wonderful person who writes amazing female!Bilbo stories and they are all so amazing and different characters even tho they share the same name.
16) Number of blankets you Sleep with: Maybe 4? It all really depends on how restless my legs feel.
17) Dream trip: Yellowstone (been there once, it was lovely), Patrick’s Point (another lovely place that I would 100% recommend but I wouldn’t if you have mobility difficulties. To get to most of the beaches there, you have to take a short hike, and then climb down really wobbly uneven ladders made of logs... and generally, its just really precarious? I wouldn’t quite recommend it to people who have children who are clumsy/unsteady on their feet either. Its not a good place to get hurt.) I’d like to see New Zealand, Ireland, Pennsylvanian...
18) Blog created: Maybe 5 years ago?
19) Number of followers: its in the 300′s.
20) Random Fact: I may be 24 turning 25 but I have an AMAZING credit score. Yeah, I went there. I’m totally going to brag about that one even though I won’t go into details about that. Also, I love to write! I especially like posts that are resources for writers. So if you see any posts like that, please tag me so that I can find them too. :) :D
I am going to tag:
@avilociraptor
@excalibelle
@wonderrbat
Its not even close to 20... but I really don’t know that many people. And so if you are interested in joining in, go ahead. :) :D
