SOME RANDOM THOUGHTS? DPS CHARACTERS AS HOGWARTS HOUSES AND VARIANTS
NEIL PERRY - GRIFFINDOR I am talking the full look - Red Converse - House Scarf - Head Boy - Seeker and Overall Party Person Variants - Both Sirius and Regulus Black
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Todd Anderson - GRIFFINDOR!!!!!! Hear me out on this - Is a Neville Longbottom type of Gryffindor - Has that spirit - Lesser known than most others and definitely wonders about not being a Hufflepuff Variants - Remus Lupin and Neville Longbottom
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Charlie Dalton - Okay Two Ways this can go down? 1) Has that Draco Malfoy vibe - I mean look at him and like his whole dynamic with Meeks - Could definitely come from a Pure-Blood Family and still flaunt that energy
2) A Gryffindor - I mean hear me out on this - A bit like Sirius and Regulus but also a dash of Bill or like Fred Weasley - Loyal to the freaking core - So yes - there might be a higher chance of him being the outlandish Gryffindor, the long lost child of Slytherin House Variants - Sirius and Regulus Black but also Fred Weasley and Draco Malfoy
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Knox Overstreet as Slytherin or Gryffindor ? Hear me out on this one. He is the Poster Child for both houses. Sticks to his family and definitely values it - The whole thing with Chris showed more or less his ambition - determination to get what he desires - Yes people wonder why he is in Slytherin though If in Gryffindor he is just James Potter's long lost great uncle or something - Is probably Quidditch Captain who chases after the first girl he saw on the train Variants - James 'Freaking' Potter - NOTHING ELSE TO SEE
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Steven Meeks - REVENCLAW I am talking about being sorted in Record Time - That's it - He is in the Wizard's Chess Club and has founded an array of speakeasy style clubs around Hogwarts (for dancing - muggle drinks - and well GREAT MUSIC) - Like Ravenclaws poster child who everyone freaking hates (affectionately) - Aces all exams and has a time turner to attend classes - As for variants? Well - he has his nerd > geek energy so Yes - LUNA LOVEGOOD Variants - Luna Lovegood - Alice Longbottom
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gerard Pitts - The One True Hufflepuff No questions asked - I am talking about Pitts the all Star Chaser of Hufflepuff - Sneaks into kitchens to organize midnight feasts - Stays up cramming his head for exams style Hufflepuff - But also very very sweet - People see him hang out with Meeks and yes there seems to be a weird Black Cat Golden Retriever Energy - Late to class but gets shit done Variants - Newt Scamander - Tonks- Frank Longbottom energy is there somewhere
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Richard Cameron - Slytherin Well who is proud of it - I'd say he holds it altogether - He does a few extracurriculars but is extremely ambitious about shooting up a career at the Ministry - Has definitely invented a number of secret curses to get around Hogwarts and to meddle with Dalton - Head Boy in his final year - Everyone Hates Him but in truth everyone is just kinda scared of him Variants - Lucius Malfoy but also Severus Snape (tries to be friends with everyone - but does not work out) BUT MAJOR PERCY WEASLEY FLEX

it’s been so long since i’ve posted about dead poets society but. i’m having thoughts
can someone PLEASE write a fic about cameron reconnecting with the other poets later in life. a fic about the boys finally reuniting as adults after years apart and taking the time to forgive each other and really process the loss of neil. bonus points if there’s extra angsty tension between cameron and charlie that’s eventually resolved in a tearful apology scene where they both realize that they were just scared kids trying to do what they thought was right please-

THE DEAD POETS
Dead Poets Society Band AU
This will be a fic in the future but here are the headcanons that I have as of now:
Other than the usual extra-curricular activities that Welton implores each student to join, it has been expected for them to be at least proficient in one instrument, which is why there is a music class that was made for this one rule.
On that note, most parents who wanted their child to be a Welton graduate took the initiative and taught their children an instrument (usually it's chosen by their parents rather than the child itself) to get ready when their child will start going to Welton.
Some students who actually enjoyed their instruments started to play well, and those who despised it had their lives living in this despairing life of playing something they don't want to, just for a future their parents wanted them for.
A group of students found friends and decided to create their own ragtag group to play music on their own musings, and sometimes create their own bands to pursue a career in music. Some do get their break, while others end in disbandment either to the pressure or friendships breaking.
Outside Welton, there is a cafe that funds a yearly band offs a tradition in which any bands who would like to join would compete for the grand prize, which is usually a lifetime supply of their delicacies there and a cash prize to boot. Many of the Welton alumni have joined this in the past some even won, and this tradition went off to the later students of the school.
That's basically world-building for now. But I know you're most curious about the poets right?
Mr. Keating would be an example of the alumni who joined in the past, proficient in bass he was one of the heart-throbs of the band, which Charlie always reminds him in jest.
Before Todd Anderson arrived at Welton, the Poets had already a group featuring; Knox Overstreet on the Drums, Charlie Dalton on the Bass Guitar, Stephen Meeks on the Rythym Guitar, and Neil Perry on the Lead Guitar and Vocals.
They were called "Welton Misfits" a Rock Band who was known to make women swoon and heads rock with their creations and covers, unfortunately, this double life is hidden from their parents, most especially to Neil due to his father wanting him to focus on his studies and not dwaddle in other extra-curricular activities that would just be a block to his future.
Unfortunately, their parents do find out, due to Richard Cameron telling Principal Nolan due to a fight with Charlie, which in turn tells their parents about it.
The other parents were lenient about it, especially finding out how popular they've become and how it wasn't really affecting their grades.
Mr. Perry is another story, he got so angry that he confiscated Neil's Lead Guitar and destroys it in front of Neil.
Neil took this loss personally after all he saved money to buy that guitar, which caused the group to a temporary hiatus, with the others not wanting to play without Neil. Charlie hated Cameron for what he'd done, while Cameron tried to make amends not foreseeing the consequences of the action he made, Neil the always caring one forgave Cameron meanwhile, Charlie didn't.
And so the poets continued on Welton, without playing for a while.
And then came Todd Anderson.
Todd Anderson, unlike any of the Welton students, weren't actually taught an instrument by his parents, because his parents didn't really expect that they'll put him in Welton, after all, Jeff Anderson is already going there so what use would Todd be if he went there too?
But he actually loves playing Instruments, so he self-taught himself the Bass Guitar, the instrument in question was something given to him by Jeff, after he changed the instrument he will be learning when he was young. He also learned how to sing, due to him joining his brother when he's practicing. He was glad that he still had his brother to support him when his parents doesn't.
Then came Welton and he was called in by Nolan to talk about how his parents didn't write an instrument that he learned, which Todd corrected by saying, Bass Guitar and Vocals to the other poets and Nolan's surprise.
"Why don't your parents know about this Todd?"
"Oh they don't really care about me at all, so they wouldn't know."
"Oh."
Neil and Todd finally meet and it was love at first sight, not to mention how Neil managed to hear Todd's singing that was music to his ears and fell in love even more.
Neil on the side was teaching himself violin after his own father destroyed his own instrument, Charlie and Knox wanted to buy him another one at their own expense but Neil lost his muse to play that instrument so he just requested the violin, an instrument that he always wanted to play since he was a child but decided with the lead guitar due to the needs of their band. At the time only Knox and Charlie knew of him and his violin, and then there was Todd, who found him practicing in the basement of the dorms.
"Wow, you play amazing Neil."
"I ... I do?"
"Yeah!"
"T-Thanks!"
"Can you play that again?"
"What?"
"I just wanted to add something, if that's okay?"
"Sure..."
And Neil did play again, this time he was accompanied by Todd's vocals who was sonorous, something he never heard in his life and it was beautiful. It added so much more to what he was playing and it was as if they complete each other.
After that, they decided to continue to practice in the basement of the dorms, with Neil still hiding him playing the violin and Todd still being shy.
That didn't last long when Charlie found out and decided to join, and come soon the others.
Some were welcomed with open arms.
While Cameron was objected to by Charlie, as much as what he did, Cameron was amazing in the Clarinet.
And so the ragtag group of them were created, who played on a whim and created some really good sounds. Mr. Keating found out one day and complimented all of them with how great they were. And would soon be their manager when Charlie shows them that yearly Band-off. To which this year's category is perfect for them: Jazz.
Some were excited to join while some were unsure; Neil due to his fear of Mr. Perry finding out (Cameron already promised that he won't fink this time but the damage has been done and Charlie doesn't fully trust him to go fulfill that promise) and Todd still being shy at playing in front of others.
But after a week of coaxing and mending of friendships, they all managed to agree and form a band to join the band-off, which was monitored by Mr. Keating. And the Band consists of;
Knox Overstreet - He plays the Banjo of the group, the one who would 100% help with any financial problems between the groups, which he has shown when he helped Todd in fixing his worn Bass and gave it an upgrade to Todd's satisfaction.
Neil Perry - He's the violinist of the group, he found his muse back due to Todd Anderson which he was glad, he also wrote many pieces that only included him and Todd but he doesn't let the others know just yet, they already know he was down bad for Todd but them finding out about that put the nail in the coffin.
Gerard Pitts - Drummer, Knox helped in his instrument since Knox was the drummer in the old band, he was actually really great at the drums and his long legs and arms helped a lot. The one Todd runs off to when he wants to just chill, after all, Pitts is a comfort giant.
Richard Cameron - He's very proficient with the Clarinet which boasts, as much as Charlie opposed to him joining the band after a little mending of friendships he managed to say yes, and Cameron really was sorry about what happened and he intends to show it by winning that band-off
Charlie Dalton - Saxophone, the one true instrument for him, or so he says. We'll he really is amazing at the saxophone and would often practice with the others just to get used to how they play, and due to them having wind instruments Charlie and Cameron got to play a lot, which was the tool for their friendship to mend, hopefully.
Steven Meeks - The Pianist of the group, really is amazing in it. And usually is found helping the others in composing their own creations, after all, he is the better one when it comes to composing. Usually, the one who creates the piece for them or helps Neil and Charlie when they write theirs. Although he doesn't need to help when Todd composes, he would say he just knows whatever Todd makes would be amazing regardless of his help or not.
Todd Anderson - He is both the Bass Guitarist and the Vocals of the group, always seen with Charlie around due to Charlie being a bass player as well and Neil Perry when they're both composing or practicing. As much as he wanted to help he is still very shy and is working to come out of his shell and show the world what Todd Anderson is really all about.
They named their group "The Dead Poets" in memorial to the group Mr. Keating played in the past which have also won the band-off and are practicing their first piece which was co-composed by Neil and Todd, entitled Carpe Diem.
The Welton students know of the band practicing under the basement of the dorms but also protect them from any teachers finding out.
That's it for now HASDJAHSJD that's all I know for now but yeah! This will become a fic so hehe kindly wait for that

How You Meet
master list
Charlie Dalton: Charlie Dalton, known as the schools flirt. You knew him since childhood, seen him grown and become who he is now, although a tad disappointed. “Shut up Charlie.” Is your most said phrase, say it about a hundred times a day.
Chris Noel: You and Chris go to the same friend except you were a theater/band kid and she was a cheerleader. You didn't become friends until a mutual friend introduced you to her. Surprisingly you two had a lot of common interests and quickly became best friends.
Gerard Pitts: Gerard Pitts is a shy guy whose grades could be better. You go to a different school, an all girls academy, which coincidentally is next to Welton Academy. You were “hired” to be Gerard Pitts tutor as the future valedictorian of your school.
Knox Overstreet: Your sister is Chris and like always you were cast aside as Knox became obsessed with your sister. “You should give up now, Chris is taken.” You mumbled when he looks awestruck at the fading figure of your sister.
Neil Perry: You like him wanted to be an actress and again just like his dad your dad was unsupportive of it. “But dad!” You would shout. Your dad would have none of it, you sneaked off to the audition with the help of your friends when you met Neil.
Richard Cameron: You and Richard were family friends, although you two never really talked to one another. That's until you were invited to a party that Cameron also was attending and because you didn't know anyone but him you talked to him.
Steven Meeks: Being a lover of Latin, Chemistry, and Trigonometry loads of people would come to you for help. You’d help of course but at times it was exhausting to have to help everyone. The one comfort you had was Steven aka Meeks. Who was your shoulder to cry on and your #1 fan.
Todd Anderson: Being Neil’s sister came with great advantages, just like being friends with none other then Todd Anderson. Who like you was shy, you liked to keep to yourself, reading a book under a tree, staying out of the limelight, unlike your brother who loved being the center of attention.

How You Two Meet - Dead Poets Society Preference
Masterlist of Masterlists
Guide: Y/N: Your Name Y/F/N: Your First Name Y/L/N: Your Last Name
Warnings: Mentions of death in Gerard's
Tumblr media
Neil Perry: You met when you both auditioned for a play at a community theatre Audition day has arrived, but Neil was more nervous than ever. The boys accompanied him into the theatre just in case something were to go wrong. Neil was reading over the audition lines, which come from Romeo and Juliet. The boys were really hyping Neil up in the back of the theatre until an older man came up on stage and got everyone's attention. "Attention everyone. Thank you for coming out for the auditions for Antony and Cleopatra. I truly believe we will have a wonderful cast for such a great Shakespearean tragedy. Ladies, please hand my assistant your paperwork and line up for your audition. You will perform your monologue onstage by yourself and then you will exit and take a seat. We will have a brief break and then begin with the men. Break a leg." He said as he exited the stage and sat in his seat next to the assistant he mentioned previously. One after the other, girls performed their monologues and the boys gawked. But then you got onstage and the group of boys just stopped dead in their tracks. "Hello, I am Y/F/N Y/L/N and I will be auditioning for Cleopatra." You performed your monologue of Juliet II ii 85 with all the passion and strive you could muster. Once you finished you had a standing ovation. You bowed and sat next to a girl you befriended at the audition. The girl auditions finished up and you all went on a brief break so the boys could prepare. "Neil, if you don't go after her, I will" Charlie said cheekily as he elbowed his friend. "That was the most beautiful and talented girl I have ever seen." Neil said as he looked in your direction across the room. It was soon the boys turn and one by one they went across the stage and performed, and then appeared Neil. "I'm Neil Perry and I will be auditioning for Antony." He performed his heart out, reciting Romeo III iii 33. He sat down right behind you. When all the auditions were officially over, the director came on the stage once more, "Brava ladies and gentlemen. Those were some amazing auditions and my assistant and I will have a hard time deciding the roles. This can take up to an hour so just be prepared. You were all amazing but remember that we have to make decisions. See you all in an hour or so."Just as the director and assistant left to deliberate on the casting, Neil turned towards his group of friends who were all enthusiastically giving him 'thumbs ups'. Neil smiled and turned back around. Suddenly you turned to the boy behind you. "Neil, is it?" "Uh, yeah I'm Neil. And you're Y/F/N, right?" "Yup! I wanted to let you know you were amazing up there! I was really invested. You have a promising career as an actor, I can't wait to work with you." You said with a smile as you turned back to the girl next to you and started chatting up a storm. Neil's heart melted at the thought of just simply being around you.
Todd Anderson: You were chilling in Mr.Keating's classroom because he's your dad You were sitting in a desk in the middle of your dads classroom, discussing some novels and plays before his students showed up for the class. You and your dad were discussing the interesting aspects tagged along with Franz Kafka's "The Metamorphosis" when you were suddenly interrupted by a few boys entering the room. "Don't mind them, they like to come early." Your dad said as he waved the boys into the classroom with a smile. "How was Death of A Salesman, Mr.Keating?" Neil asked, knowing he went to see the play over the weekend. "Oh magnificent Mr.Perry. I do wish I could've brought you boys with me but I had some great company with me either way." Your dad as he shot you a smile. "Oh did you bring a lady friend with you?" Knox asked but as soon as those rolled off his tongue you shifted uncomfortably in your seat. "We keep forgetting about this doll in Todd's seat. Who are you darling?" Charlie asked as he looked from Todd to you and winked. Your dad chimed in before you could get a word in, "That is Y/N. She's my daughter. We actually saw the show together." Charlie blushed and leaned back in his seat, trying and failing to make himself seem smaller. "Sweetheart, I know you had some rather bold opinions of the play. Also you can sit in the front so poor Mr.Anderson can sit down." Your dad said as he motioned to a desk near his desk. You looked back at Todd who was staring, he turned and blushed as your rose from the seat you were just occupying. "I am so sorry Todd." You replied as you got up and moved seats. Todd quickly sat down but started to stare again as you began to explain how you felt about the play you had seen with your father.
Charlie Dalton: Select girls are allowed to attend Welton, and you were chosen and played in the schools orchestra Welton was known for only letting in some of the best, and when they were letting up to 10 girls into the school for the very first time, your parents did not hesitate to make sure you got one of those spots. Top of your class, president and captain of several clubs and teams, and first chair in the saxophone section with several professional orchestras vying for your skill made Mr.Nolan not even hesitate to welcome you to the school. You walked into your first class of the day. which was English, with your bag on your back and your saxophone case in your hand. You walked in and everyone turned around and stared at you in awe. "Miss Y/L/N, I was wondering when you would be joining us! You can take the empty seat next to Mr.Dalton and tell us a little about yourself." Mr.Keating said with a smile as you made your way to the empty seat. "I'm Y/N, I transferred from a boarding school about an hour away from here. I am top of my class and I play first chair saxophone." "That's brilliant! I love seeing a bright, young mind in my presence. I see you have your instrument with you, would you liked to play something for us?" "Uhm, yeah I would love to." You replied with a smile as you took out your saxophone and assembled it and tuned it. "This is Flight of the Bumblebee, one of the most difficult songs to play on any instrument." "Do you need someone to hold your music?" Charlie asked, rather enthusiastically. "No thank you, I actually have the piece memorised." Charlie looked sad but immediately perked up when you started to play. You were so engrossed by playing you you didn't notice Charlie making heart eyes and melting as he stared at the beauty in front of him.
Steven Meeks: You're staying your uncle Keating at Welton for the year as a foreign exchange student You and Keating just finished the meeting with Mr.Nolan about the terms and conditions about your stay. It was early in the morning and Keating offered to make you a cup of tea before classes were supposed to start, you agreed and stayed in Keating's classroom. It was supposed to be about another 45 minutes before classes began, so you popped a Beatles album into the record player and was just sitting at Keating's desk and absorbed the atmosphere of an American classroom. You were reading "Catcher in the Rye" as you waited for you uncle to come back to the classroom. You heard some robust laughter come closer to the room and you recognised it as your uncles but there were other voices you didn't recognise. You looked up from the book as soon as the laughter was in the classroom. Your uncle entered with two students by his side, he gave you your cup of tea and looked at the boys. "Mr.Pitts and Mr.Meeks, this is my niece Y/F/N. She's an exchange student from England this year. Can you boys help her around during the day so she doesn't get too lost?" Keating asked with a smile. Both boys were starstruck by the girl in front of them, but Steven was falling in love by the moment. Gerard snapped out of the fit first and elbowed Steven to get his attention back to the real world. "Of course I can Mr.Keating." Steven stumbled out, Gerard just facepalmed as you looked at your uncle and both of you chuckled. Steven finally noticed the music playing, and he may not listen to music all that often but he didn't recognise. "I really like this song, who sings it?" Steven asked shyly. Your eyes went wide open and your mouth went agape, "Do they not have The Beatles here in the States?! Let me show you them, they're AMAZING!" You grabbed Steven's hand and led him over to the record player. Keating looked at you two and back at Gerard with a smile, knowing that look better than any poet he's ever researched.
Richard Cameron: You two competed against one another several times during debate competitions First debate competition of the year was in a few hours. The two teams were in the respective classrooms preparing for the competition ahead. You had to go use the restroom so you excused yourself and walked over to where the restroom was located. You bumped into someone as you rounded the corner. "I am so sorry, I didn't see you there. Are you okay?" The boy asked. "Yeah I'm perfectly fine, just got a little spooked." You replied with a smile as you made eye contact with the boy in front of you, you blushed. He stuck his hand out with a smile, "Richard Cameron, Welton Academy." You returned the smile and took his hand, "Y/F/N Y/L/N, Hamilton Academy. I look forward to seeing you on the debate court." You shook his hand as you winked and walked toward the bathroom.
Knox Overstreet: You tutor his sister back at home Knox was coming home today, his parents told you that before they left to pick him up and bring him home. You were tutoring his younger sister in English and geography. She wasn't bad by any means, but her parents always believed she could do better. You never pushed her too far because she would always reiterate that she is doing the very best she can. You knew how it was to be pushed passed your breaking point and you would never want to do that to a student you tutor. You two took a break and the front door flung open and the sound of teenage boy filled the hallway. He immediately went upstairs and put his stuff away as his parents came into the kitchen to ask how their daughter was doing. In the middle of the conversation Knox came into the kitchen as well. He immediately stopped in his tracks as he made eye contact with you, you blushed as soon as he smiled. "My my, Knox Overstreet, I hadn't seen you since you started attending Welton. You look dashing if I may say so, growing into a fine young man." You said with a smile. "Wow Y/F/N, you look beautiful yourself. Going to be an amazing woman one day." He said as blushed back at you. "Maybe, Y/N, if you're not too busy you could tutor Knox as well. Make sure he doesn't lose his muster during break." His father chimed in. His sister came in unexpectedly and said, "I think he just needs a tutor in general, I'm pretty sure I'm smarter than him." This earned a chuckle from everyone and a blush from Knox and you shot an empathetic glance his way
Gerard Pitts: You met when you were forced to attend Welton by your father, Mr.Nolan, because your grades were slipping "You are attending Welton and that is final, young lady." Your father practically spat at you. You got up in a huff as he escorted you to your English class. "Mr.Nolan, what brings you in here for today?" Mr.Keating asked with his usual smile. He practically shoved you into the classroom, "This is my daughter Y/N. She's going to be attending here because her grades slipped too low for my standards elsewhere. Don't go easy on her." Mr.Keating shot you an empathetic glance, "You may sit next to Mr.Pitts. And rest assured Mr.Nolan, I will help whip her into shape in no time." Mr.Keating motioned to the empty chair with a smile. You walked to the empty seat and sat down. Gerard could not take his eyes off you. Mr.Keating had everyone work on a poem as he came over to your desk to ask you if everything was alright. Gerard was tuning in. "I don't know anymore My mum didn't even want me to come here. I got one C because my friend passed away and suddenly it's the end of the world for my father. You'd think he would care a little more since I'm his only child, you know?" You ranted, letting a single tear roll down your face. Gerard immediately noticed and got a tissue and gave it to you. "Thank you that was really sweet." You said with a shy smile. "Well, I can't let a pretty girl cry when I'm around." He said with a smile filled with empathy.

What It Would Be Like Dating Knox Overstreet
I tried to keep this as gender neutral as possible :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As you could probably guess, Knox asked you out with a poem and a pretty sad bouquet of flowers he had collected from outside. This boy had been pretty obvious about his feelings towards you for a bit of time now. You had often heard him talking about you and little did he know, Charlie had ratted him out to you, clarifying your theory’s. You were really just waiting for him to make his move, and that he did. Like I said, he wrote a poem all about you, making all the poets read it first, and then he set off on his mission. No matter where you were or what you were doing, when ever he had gained enough courage and confidence to read it out to you, he did. And it just so happened that you were in the middle of reading out a presentation for class when he burst through the door and read you the poem. It was pretty embarrassing but as soon as he locked eyes with you, it’s like everything else disappeared around the two of you, it was only you and him. And you happily said yes, jumping into his arms, which made the entire class erupt into cheering, whistling and clapping.
For dates, Knox has grown a liking for taking long and romantic walks. Preferably on the beach or by a body of water. He loves to hold your hand and just talk about what ever comes to mind, pointing out how beautiful you are as much as he possibly can. He loves watching the sun slowly set behind mountains and clouds and having his significant other by his side. He also said “I love you” by the end of your first date, which was a bit alarming, but like I said, you had known each other for a bit of time so it wasn’t like you were complete strangers.
Knox is always making contact with you, be it holding hands, kissing or having his arm wrapped around you, he’s always touching you. He likes being so close all the time, knowing that you are his and he is yours. But secretly, he also likes to just show off that you’re his, a pretty person in his arms is the biggest ego boost.
He cannot be without you. He wants to spend every minute with you that he possibly can. Sometimes, it’s cute, other times, it’s annoying. Like when you’re trying to study and he will not leave you alone, then it’s annoying, but when he’s constantly showering you with gifts and affection on Valentine’s Day. It’s cute and bearable.
If you’re cold, he will give you the clothes off his back. He will let you wear anything of his that you so deeply desire. There has even been multiple times that the two of you have crossed paths with a puddle and instead of just walking around it, Mr. CEO Of Romance placed his jacket over it, letting you make your way across the puddle without getting even a drop of water on yourself. I cannot say the same for the jacket that is.
There has been many times you have over heard your boyfriend talking about you to his friends. Just so smitten with you. It always warms your heart and makes you blush when you hear him say how attractive you are, even when you aren’t present. He could talk about you all day if he really wanted. And I think the other dead poets are getting kind of annoyed by how much he talks about you.
Knox spending his money on you isn’t a rare occurrence. If you even mention something you saw at the store that day, he will immediately go out and retrieve it for you. No matter how expensive the item is, he’s wasting his money on it, just for you. No matter when or where you are, if you’re in a rush or not, he’s purchasing what ever you please.
Knox calls you “princess/prince”. Because in his eyes, you’re the most beautiful creature to walk this Earth and like I said, he wants to spoil you with all the riches he possibly can. You’re royalty to him.
He tends to keep his emotions from you, in his head, telling you how he feels is like taking the chance of hurting you. Most of the time, you have to force his feelings out of him, you don’t really push unless you can tell he’s about to hit rock bottom. And even then, most of the time, he just brakes down in a full out sob and tells you everything that’s been on his mind. And that situation usually ends in him being cuddled and over all comforted by you.
Mr. Overstreet has become extremely popular with his peers that attend other schools so he’s been invited to numerous party’s hosted by students of other schools. And he loves to attend these party’s, going up on the popularity chart, and what makes it easier for him to become popular? Bringing a hot date, which is always, of course, you. He’s usually absolutely drunk by the end of the night, which means you have to get him back to Welton safely. He sure does flirt a lot when he’s intoxicated.
when neil befriends a girl at rehearsals, he has no idea that she will single-handedly deliver him his doom... in the form of one, stupidly wasted knox overstreet. chaos ensues. also Todd and Stick are boyfriends because I can, and because that funky lil man will have a place in everything I write (I am but a stick stan account). ENJOY!!! let me know what you think!
Neil Perry had always known he was gay. He knew right when he kissed Charlie in the first grade, on a dare from Pitts, that this was what a crush was supposed to feel like. He accepted early on in life that the world was not kind to people like him. He understood that words like “queer,” “fairy,” and “homo” were names for people like him, and that the sneers of disgust that accompanied them were just part of a package deal. He knew when he started school at Welton Academy that there was the inevitable danger of crushing on roommates and friends, and by his senior year at the all boys school, he was used to the routine of identifying and burying unwanted feelings until they were forgotten. So, when Knox Overstreet had leaned against his doorframe on the first day of school, smirking like an idiot, Neil had no problem identifying the beginnings of a crush bubbling in his chest. He had no problem, when Knox had reached out to shake the hand of Neil’s new (incredibly shy) roommate, pushing down the goofy smile that had threatened to spread on his face at how sweet Knox was being. Neil Perry had a crush on Knox Overstreet, and, given his previous experiences, it was about as scary as a kitten.
He had no problem hiding his disappointment when Knox announced he wouldn’t be at study group that night, even trying to pull him out of his obvious state of disappointment- “anything’s better than Hell-ton hash, Knox…” he had said, with just the perfect amount of nonchalance to make it convincing. Oh well, he thought, at least it would be easier to focus on the trig homework he needed to finish.
And, when Knox returned, looking like his head was stuck in the atmosphere of Jupiter, Neil had so convincingly feigned his excitement when Knox had announced his infatuation with Chris- “are you crazy? What’s wrong with that?”- when the only thought going through his head had been you idiot, she has a boyfriend. What about me? I’m right here?
Neil Perry was, for the most part, a good actor. He could play the part of the excited friend, the matchmaker, the hopeless romantic, and he could play them with ease. It was Todd’s fault, really, that everything had begun to unravel. That the feelings became too much to bury. In Neil’s experience, once it was out in the open, there’s no going back. If only Todd wasn’t so damn observant.
The conversation had gone somewhat normal, in the beginning:
“I dunno, Todd… I guess I just don’t understand it! I mean, she has a boyfriend already! If Knox really loves her so much, why isn’t he happy for her?”
“Neil, no offense, but don’t you have more important things to worry about than Knox’s love life?”
“Like?”
“Like, just about everything else? Why is it so important to you, anyways?”
That had shut Neil up. Maybe he wasn’t too good at hiding his feelings, after all. Then, the dreaded question reared its ugly head.
“Do you… like Knox?”
He had never been good at this part, the part where he had to lie about his feelings. Usually, nobody could even tell something was off, and he never even had to think about what to say if someone guessed. Todd was just… different, somehow. Neil knew he was also queer. He had seen Todd holding hands with another boy from their hall, nicknamed Stick. They were a nice couple, and Neil had to bite back his jealousy at seeing what he only wished he could have with Knox.
“Neil? You know you can tell me, right?”
“You know the answer to that question already.”
Todd gave a small nod and moved to sit next to Neil, putting an arm around his shoulders.
“You know, I may be the newest addition to this friend group, but I don’t think Chris is the one Knox really wants.”
And before Neil could process the implications of the statement, Stick was at their door, and Todd was waving goodbye to Neil and leaning to kiss his boyfriend hello, and then they were gone.
But, if not Chris, then who? The question haunted his mind for days, and by the end of October, Neil Perry’s crush had grown into quite a bit more, which meant that burying his feelings was about to get a hell of a lot more complicated. Thanks to rehearsals and a new friend, maybe even impossible.
Neil enjoyed rehearsals. He loved watching his fellow actors lose themselves in the performance. He loved listening to the chatter of the tech crew as they discussed backdrops and lighting. He loved the smell of sawdust and paint that lingered in the air and on his clothes. The one thing he never really got the hang of was the talking. Despite being known as a social butterfly at Welton, the mixture of Henley Hall girls and public school kids was a whole new atmosphere for him, and if there’s one thing Neil Perry hated, it was change. So, when the girl who played Hermia walked up and introduced herself, he was so overjoyed at the prospect of a friend that he hadn’t stopped to ponder over the familiarity of her surname.
“Hey, you look a little lost! I’m Ginny, Ginny Danbury. I play Hermia.”
He had looked up, unsure at first of whether he was the one being addressed. In discovering that he was, his face broke out into the trademark Neil Perry Smile, the one he reserved for his dad and Dr. Nolan.
“Neil. Perry. I, uh, I play Puck.”
They had shaken hands, he in his crown of twigs, and she in her pink tulle dress, and a friendship was born.
Two weeks before the performance, she mentioned her older brother.
“So, I got home last night, and Chet- that’s my brother, by the way- Chet asked me if I had been hooking up with someone. Apparently, he thinks the only valid reason to be out late is if you’re getting laid…”
She had kept talking after that, but Neil had stopped listening. What had Knox said about that girl? Practically engaged… to Chet Danbury. When rehearsal was over that night, Ginny asked Neil a question.
“Would you mind giving me your phone number?”
The smell of cheap liquor greeted Knox before he had even opened the door. Charlie’s words rang in his head; you don’t really think she means you’re going with her? He was right, after all… this was Chris’s boyfriend’s house, and he was a guest. His guest. He was really starting to regret passing up a Poets meeting for this, when he could have been cozied up next to Neil in the cave. Neil… with his perfect brown eyes that should be considered national treasures, in Knox’s opinion, and a voice like velvet… Neil, the reason he had even begun pursuing Chris in the first place, as a way to distract him from the true object of his affections. Neil, whose absent-minded, yearning looks were surely reserved for everyone, not just him… keep it together, Knox, tonight is the night you forget about Neil Perry, once and for all.
“Carpe diem, Knoxious… carpe diem.”
He opened the door.
About an hour later, he was wasted. His earlier attempt to get a beer had been sabotaged by two football players who were a little too closely acquainted with the bottles of vodka and whiskey lined up on the counter. Before he knew what was happening, his beer had been replaced by a shot of liquor that smelled exactly like the stuff his sisters used to clean off their nail polish, and he had been affectionately dubbed “Mutt Sanders’ brother” by the shorter of the two jocks, despite his protests of never having met a Mutt Sanders. A few shots later and he was stumbling into the basement, nearly incoherent. What happened after that would surely remain burned into his memory forever, but the most that he could bring himself to tell anyone was that he had somehow ended up on the floor with a bloody nose and a splitting headache.
The full story is a bit more complicated. Knox, intoxicated and feeling brave, had begun his search for Chris in the kitchen, weaving around crowds of people he didn’t know. If he had been sober, he certainly would have been a little less obvious, but Knox Overstreet was a man on a mission, and although the alcohol helped him focus on the task at hand (find Chris, woo Chris, (maybe) hook up with Chris, fall in love with Chris, forget Neil Perry), it certainly didn’t aid him in his attempts at subtlety. By the time he managed to get to the basement, he forgot why he was there.
Neil, Knox, you’re here to find- no, you’re here to FORGET Neil. Find Chris, forget Neil. Find Chris, forget Neil. It was here that Knox began to feel the fourth shot in his legs, and he quickly moved to sit on the couch before they gave out. Cursing his low alcohol tolerance, he began to scope out the crowd in the basement for Chris, when he suddenly became aware of two things at once: the presence of an annoyingly loud couple mid-makeout on his right, and the sleeping presence of Chris Noel on his left. And Knox Overstreet, in a burst of alcohol-infused idiocy, began to stroke her hair, and suddenly it wasn’t Chris on the couch beside him, but Neil. Neil Perry, and he was smiling up at Knox, saying something that Knox couldn’t understand because all he could see was the shape of Neil’s lips, moving ever so slowly towards his, and in that moment, as their lips met, time seemed to slow down, and the voices and music were all combining into a kind of ambient soundtrack- that is, until the distorted voice of Kitchen Jock #1 made its way into Knox’s alcohol-muddled brain, pulling him back to earth in word form.
Chet… CHET, it’s Mutt Sanders’ brother! And he’s feelin’ up YOUR GIRL!
And he wasn’t kissing Neil, he was kissing Chris, and she wasn’t asleep, she was sitting up, asking him what he was doing, and, hell, what was he doing? As he opened his mouth to answer her, he picked up a bright red blur in his peripheral vision, moving towards him.
Next thing he knew, he was on the floor.
There was a knock on the door.
“Mr. Perry. You have a phone call.”
“Yessir, I’ll be right there, sir.”
Todd shot him a confused look from where he was sat on the floor with Stick. He and Neil had left the Poets meeting about ten minutes after Charlie showed up with girls and liquor, and Meeks and Pitts had soon followed. The latter two had denied their invites to a study group, which meant they were most definitely making out in their room, so Todd had asked Neil about inviting Stick to work on the Latin conjugation assignment together, to which Neil had happily agreed.
In all honesty, Neil was glad for the phone call. Todd and Stick were so cute together it was nearly maddening, especially when Neil could so easily imagine him and Knox together in the same ways. The gentle brush of their shoulders against one another as Todd checked Stick’s spelling, the way Stick watched Todd’s lips moved as he practiced his pronunciations… to anyone else, it would have been endearing, but to Neil it felt like a lifetime prison sentence.
Dr. Hager handed him the telephone when he got to the end of the hall, and he nodded a “thank you” before watching the man disappear into his room.
“Hello, this is Neil Perry?”
“Neil, thank goodness you’re there!”
“Ginny?”
“Yes, oh, I’m so sorry to bother you on a Friday night, but there’s been a bit of an… incident…”
Shit. Knox had been at the Danburys’ house. Neil’s blood turned to ice.
“What sort of incident? Is everyone alright?”
“Well, sort of… do you happen to know Knox Overstreet?”
Boy, did he ever…
So that’s how Neil ended up at the Danburys’ house at 10 pm on a Friday night, picking up a bleeding (and incredibly drunk) Knox. Ginny hadn’t been able to tell him what happened, and nobody else got a good look, but the story was that, while an intoxicated Knox had been trying to dance with Chris, Chet noticed and punched him in the nose. Neil believed it.
So there they were, sitting on the dock near the lake as Neil pressed snow to the bruise that was rapidly forming around Knox’s eye.
Around 11, Neil deemed Knox sober enough to take back to the dorms without causing suspicion, and they crept up the stairs and down the hall to Neil’s and Todd’s dorm.
Neil softly pushed the door open with his foot to see Todd at his desk, surrounded by crumpled pieces of paper. Upon seeing Knox’s inebriated state and the exhausted look on Neil’s face, he immediately jumped to help Knox out of his coat and tie while Neil guided him to sit on one of the beds.
“Neil! Buddy! How’d you get here?”
Neil and Todd immediately shushed Knox, whose bruised face contorted into a frown.
“Sorryyyy” was the slurred response, given in a sort of whisper-yell smoothie.
“Knoxy, don’t talk. Your nose is still bleeding.” Neil’s voice was dripping in concern, which caused one of Todd’s eyebrows to perk up in his tell-tale “I told you so” smirk. Knox was preoccupied with trying to lick the blood from his nose “to clean it!”, and Neil was trying to get him to sit still.
After about an hour, Todd had gone to room with Hopkins for the night, to his immense gratitude (drunk Knox was not a character Hopkins was particularly interested in dealing with, and neither Todd nor Neil blamed him one bit). Knox, who had sobered up enough to gain the ability to form coherent sentences (but not a filter) was delighted to fill Neil in on the happenings of the party, to which Neil couldn’t bring an objection from his lips. As annoying as he could be, Neil loved Knox’s ramblings, sober or otherwise.
“And then, I was sitting on the couch and the strangest thing happened! Chris was there, but it wasn’t really Chris! It was you, Neil, can you believe it? You were there!”
Neil hummed in mock surprise, grabbing the cup of water he had gotten from the bathroom and wetting another towel.
“No, Neil, you gotta remember, you kissed me! Well, you almost did…”
Neil froze, almost dropping the water.
“I.. did what?”
“You kissed me, silly! And I thought I was drunk…”
“Knox, I wasn’t at the party… I didn’t kiss you.”
The crushed look on Knox’s face at Neil’s words would have been adorable if it hadn’t been so sad…
“You… didn’t kiss me?” Neil shook his head slowly. “But then, who did I kiss?”
“Knox, Chris’s boyfriend punched your lights out. You were seeing things.”
“But Neil, you don’t get it. That was supposed to be our kiss!”
“Shh, Knox, stop moving so much. Your nose isn’t bleeding anymore, so let’s get you to bed. Can you stand up?”
Knox pouted, pouted, which almost caused Neil to drop dead on the spot, and stood up shakily before giggling and leaning into the wall.
“Nope!” He sang, popping the “p.”
Neil sighed. Knox was wearing jeans and a dress shirt, which meant he was going to be incredibly uncomfortable. Might as well do it now, then at least he won’t remember if anything embarrassing happens…
“Knox, you’re going to be uncomfortable sleeping in that.”
“So strip me, Perry, I’m not afraid,” he said with a drunken attempt at a wink that should not have made Neil’s heart flutter in the way that it did. He sighed and moved to unbutton Knox’s shirt, breathing another sigh of relief when he was met with the sight of a cotton t-shirt underneath. Crisis number one, averted.
“If I hold onto your shoulders, can you get your own pants off?”
“Yyyyyyeup!” It took Knox three tries to find the button on his jeans, but eventually, his clothes were folded neatly on Neil’s desk and Knox was sitting on the bed in just a t-shirt and boxers.
“You know, Neil, it’s your fault I went to that stupid party anyways.”
“Pardon?”
“Your fault, Neil. You and your stupid hair and your stupid face… you’re so stupid and fucking hot and it drives me so insane. It’s your fault I tried so hard to get Chris, and… and it’s your fault that my fucking nose is broken. There, I said it.”
There had only ever been a handful of times where Neil Perry was rendered fully speechless. Usually, it happened when his father said something particularly nasty, or when Todd occasionally worked up the courage to read his original poems at DPS meetings. But nothing could have prepared him for what Knox Overstreet said to him at 11:30pm on that fateful Friday night as he knelt on the floor between his legs.
“Wh-what?”
“You’re so stupid, Neil… I can’t do this anymore.”
And before he could say anything, Knox pulled him in by his tie and captured Neil’s parted lips with alcohol drowned ones of his own.
Neil pushed him away with no hesitation. “Knox, I-“
“Neil, come on… first Chris, now you too?”
“Knox…”
“No, Neil. You always talk, now I’m talking. I’m in love with you, and I thought maybe you might have been in love with me after tonight, but I was wrong and I’m starting to think that maybe going after Chris was a good thing, because she made me forget about you, even if it was just a little bit for a little bit of time. I’m…” Knox went silent as Neil kissed him again, softly.
“Knox, I like you. I like you a lot, actually, but you’re still really drunk and we should wait to talk about this, yeah?”
He stroked Knox’s hair softly, smiling when the other boy nodded and leaned into his touch.
“Okay. I’m gonna get ready for bed now, alright? I’m not leaving, I promise.”
Knox hummed affirmatively, getting under the covers of Neil’s bed.
“Smells like you… smells nice.” He buried his face in Neil’s pillow.
Neil smiled as he turned off the lights and got into Todd’s bed, listening to Knox’s quiet snores until he fell asleep.
“Fuck”
Knox opened his eyes, and immediately regretted it when the world exploded, sending shards of light and color into his aching brain. Groaning, he buried his face in his (no, not his,  his was softer?) pillow, wincing at the unexpected throb around his eye. He rolled over, facing the ceiling, moving an arm up to cover his eye when he heard the door open and relaxing immensely when he heard Todd’s voice.
“Morning, Knoxious. You okay?” Todd’s concern was evident, which made Knox feel a lot better. He loved that about Todd, he made up for what he lacked in confidence with an abundance of love and care for other people. Here he was now, handing Knox a bad of ice and a plate of pancakes from the diner he loved in town.
“Stick and I got breakfast this morning, thought you could use a hangover cure. Oh, which reminds me, I also brought you this,” he said, handing Knox a cup of water and a bottle of aspirin. He took everything with a smile, which widened when he saw Todd return it. Todd never smiled, and when he did, it was almost always genuine, and it made Knox feel warm inside to know that he had caused it.
“Where’s- ahem- where’s Neil?” Knox cleared the sleep from his throat and gulped down a couple pills before digging into the pancakes- blueberry. My favorite! Todd knows my favorite!
“Oh, uh, I actually don’t know,” Todd shrugged, furrowing his eyebrows, “He might be down by the dock? He goes there to study sometimes when he’s conflicted.”
Knox nodded, drinking the rest of the water and making quick work of the remaining pancakes.
“I’m gonna go find him. We gotta talk. If you see him, let him know I’m looking for him, alright?”
Knox got out of bed, only slowing for a moment when he realized he wasn’t wearing pants, before grabbing his jeans from their place on Neil’s chair and tugging them on before leaving the room.
Knox Overstreet had shitty hangovers. He had the headaches, the nausea, the fatigue, the dehydration, you name it… but he couldn’t seem to get wasted enough to ever forget anything. Usually, that was a good thing. As Knox marched towards the dock, he couldn’t decide whether he was glad to have the memories of the previous night, or if he wished that they would disappear forever.
His eyes are so fucking pretty. Fuck, how could I ever think I was in love with Chris when he was right here in front of me?
“Knox? You okay?”
“Mmm. You’re pretty, that’s all.”
He had laughed, then. God, his laugh was like music. His laugh was music.
“You’re pretty too, Knoxy.”
Fuck. It was too much, he was right here, and he had just taken Knox’s shirt off, and he was sitting on the floor between his legs, and it was all too much.
Carpe fucking Diem.
“You’re so stupid, Neil… I can’t do this anymore.”
Knox was grateful for Neil’s tie in that moment, because it was the one thing tethering him to the mortal world. Neil’s lips felt like home, and he knew it was more than just a drunken kiss. He was made to be kissing Neil, and he felt like he could do it forever.
And then it had ended.
“Knox, I-“
“Fuck.” He cursed at himself, the memory hurting his head worse than the alcohol or the bruise.
“I like you a lot, actually…”
“You’re pretty drunk still”
“Wait to talk about this, yeah?”
“Knox! Down here!”
Speak of the fucking devil. Neil Perry, looking as beautiful as ever, was sitting on the dock, long legs sprawled out, reading glasses balanced on the tip of his nose. He looked delicious. Knox shoved back those thoughts before they made themselves known on his physical form and waved at Neil, walking towards him.
“Hey, Neil.”
“I’m glad you’re up! How are you? How’s your head?”
“‘M fine, Neil. Really. Thanks to you and Todd.”
As he sat down next to Neil, he couldn’t tell if the look the other boy gave him was a look of concern or of longing.
“The bruise actually looks a lot better. I’ll bet it’s gone completely by Monday.”
Knox tried to hide the way his breath hitched as Neil’s hand moved to cup his cheek, stroking the area around his eye so tenderly it should have been illegal.
“Neil…”
“I know. We need to talk about last night.”
“I shouldn’t have…”
“Actually, I’m… I’m glad you did. Considering you meant it, at least.”
Knox was speechless. He had planned a whole speech out on his way down, only to have all words robbed from him by the flecks of sunlit gold in Neil’s brown eyes.
I love you
“I did. Mean it, that is… I definitely meant it.”
Jesus Christ, I love you, Neil Perry
“Then you won’t mind if… if I did it again?”
Knox met Neil’s eyes with his own.
“Not in the slightest.”
Then, he did the same with his lips.
And I love you, Knox Overstreet.
Headcanns for the DPS boys during the summer?
yes bless you
Todd Anderson
hates sweating with a passion, so going outside is a big no-no for him
but he does really enjoy going to the movies
and summer is prime time for new movies
so he’ll go almost every week, sometimes more than once to see the latest feature
he also spends a lot of time at the local library
there’s a/c and it’s quiet bc no one there during the summer (unless youre me lmao)
he checks out a couple books and finds a private spot to read
will and has spent hours reading
can be convinced to go out for an ice cream cone but it takes A LOT of talking into
And it has to be at a specific time or he won’t go (Todd! Is! Dramatic!)
he enjoys strawberry swirl and actually really enjoys hanging out but he needs that push
just please make him socialize, he won’t if you don’t force him
Neil Perry
Shakespeare in the park!
he goes to every showing, mouthing the lines and cheering the loudest at the end of every one
he’s their number one fan
the local theatre loves him
approached him multiple times about his interest in joining
he eventually does, telling his parents that he’s doing some,,,,group studying?
HE LOVES IT
the boys will go to the plays when he has a part and get ice cream afterwards
but Neil likes all aspects of play production and even though he wants to be an actor, he also likes to step back and learn everything that goes into a production
he spends the summer learning as much as he can. he is a sponge, thirsty for knowledge
Charlie Dalton
Charlie is that guy who is ALWAYS at the pool
he literally has no reason to because his family has one in their backyard?? bUT
there are no cute ppl to ogle at home, so he goes to the public pool
walks around wearing sunglasses and if he sees a reALLY cute girl, he’ll slide them down his nose and wink
has SOOOOOO many summer romances and no one can keep up with them
“wait i thought kayla was the one with the pug?” “no that was christine!”
but then he meets a girl he really likes
she wants nothing to do with him and he really likes that
he was visiting Todd at the library bc he forgot his keys at his house, so Charlie was returning them
when he sees her stacking and putting away library books
“Bye Todd” “What--”
“Are you a library book? Cause I’m checking you out.”
he deadass says that and there’s like a fifteen second pause where no one says anything. it’s so quiet you could hear a pin drop. Charlie is internally freaking out at this point.
“Seriously?” She finally speaks up. “That’s the best you can come up with?”
Charlie leaves with heart eyes and Todd is subject to his interrogation
“Tell me everything you know about her.” “I don’t even know her name!”
Is this 👌 close to getting banned from the library
Knox Overstreet
Will 100% be cruising around in his dad’s fancy car trying to look cool
but then his dad finds out and he has to ride his bike everywhere
It’s okay bc he looks cute with the wind in his hair and his lil sunglasses :^)
burns really easily though so he usually has sunscreen with him at all times in his basket
omg he goes on mini adventures and packs ‘emergency’ supplies in the basket on his bike. it’s actually useless but it makes him feel better so...
He’s 10/10 down to go picnicking alone but prefers having company
He’ll go all out; packing sandwiches, sparkling cider, maybe some hard lemonade ;), chocolate, cake, fruit....the boy knows how to pack for a picnic
Just imagine Knox sitting on a blanket in the park, arms crossed over his knees, looking up at the setting sun with a soft smile on face
he’s a hopeless romantic ok? ok.
Steven Meeks
kinda like Todd, he won’t go outside a lot
not for the same reasons but he just kinda forgets to?
like Pitts loves to go outside (see below for more dets) and will make him but if it was up to Meeks he wouldn’t
he likes going to the arcade
Pitts and him compete over the highest score on EVERY game
it’ll go back and forth every time, sometimes they tie and they’ll be there until it closes
they have been known to tear it up on dance dance revolution (it’s their secret!! shhh!!)
He also goes to a lot of museums
Art museums are his favorite but he’ll go to any and every single one in the area
Sometimes he’ll go with Pitts or Neil, but he kinda prefers to go alone
Like there’s just something about being in a museum by yourself that is just...so good™️
He buys a lot of souvenirs
dedicates a shelf to each type of museum and it’s kinda weird?? But really endearing too
enjoys a low key, quiet summer
Gerard Pitts
Loves!! Being!! Outside!!
There’s a lot of open woods by his house and he can almost always be found there
When he was younger, he helped his dad build a mini cabin out there and it’s a really cool space
But his favorite is the treehouse that has a view of the house and the lake (totally brings the ladies to the treehouse wink wink)
The lake is like half a mile from his house and he spends a lot time down there; fishing, swimming, suntanning (it’s useless he’ll always be pale smh), sometimes his dad will let him take out their boat
Imagine this: Pitts, wearing cute lil sunglasses and a sunhat, slathered in sunscreen because his mom caught him on the way out. His cheeks are flushed pink from the heat. Whistling as he sits on the dock with a fishing rod in hand. Kicking his feet back and forth.
Sorry, I was really struck by that image, moving on
Pitts likes to host lil bonfire parties at his house down by the lake
The boys will come and they’ll be doing what boys do™️ down at the lake
Until they get tired and Pitts will start a fire from the skillz he learned as a Boy Scout (Pitts and Meeks as Boy Scouts!!! Aahhhh!!!)
Roasting marshmallows for dayz
Sometimes they’ll stay the night but usually they all kinda disappear sporadically throughout the evening and he doesn’t question it
He’s fallen asleep in the treehouse more times than he can remember
Loves to stargaze at the lake because if it’s a clear night and there’s no breeze, the lake is still and looks like a mirror reflecting the stars perfectly
He’s such a romantic sigh
If he’s not alone he’ll point out constellations space nerd uwu!!
Pitts is the perfect person to spend summer with because he’s down for anything
So I've been slowly getting into dark academia. And I kept seeing 'dead poets society' EVERYWHERE!. From quotes to GIFs to aesthetics. So I decided to hop on the train and finally watch it.
Spoilers ahead
I love this movie to bits. From Poetry, literature, passion and a teacher who inspires his students, this movie ticked all my check boxes.
Despite seeing it everywhere I did not expect that end. I thought it would end with Mr Keating fired and the kids who continue his legacy in secret.
I WAS BLINDSIDED!!! I DID NOT EXPECT THAT ENDING! I SOBBED!
I WAS IN PAIN, STILL AM IN PAIN!!! Oh my poor Niel, my baby Todd!
Fucking hell!
A friend of mine had the audacity to tell me that
"it was in the name, you should've known."
can you imagine her audacity to say those words while I was in pain
But despite the now gaping hole in my heart, I love this movie, I love what it represents and what it stands for.
I love the idea of a society like that, where kids who are shy and hesitant and afraid to be passionate about something lest it's taken away from them can come together and let "poetry drip from their lips like honey"
That's all I have to say right now, because I watched the movie just last night and still btw BLINDSIDED!
Also the name Knox overstreet for some reason has really got to me.
Sweet Rebels - Pt.1
Tumblr media
A/N: So this is different and I don’t know whether to make part two or not. This is kind of not a Harry Potter fic but I am so in love with Charlie Dalton that if I don’t do this I might as well expload from my love to him. Please, please tell me what you think of this. I’m really nervous about it.
PAIRING: Charlie Dalton x reader
You wouldn’t deny that going to Vermont was a bad idea. The idea of a new city, new people with accents and diverse culture... it drove you so happy that you couldn’t even stop smiling. Not for a day since you got here.
Your uncle never meant to invite you but it happened so fast that the last thing you remembered was your parents shouting “ No!” but being a rebel yourself you convinced them and you were already on a plane to America.
It passed a month and a half since you arrived. The school was going exceptionally well, even though you were from a different country... because American high school seemed too easy.
You didn’t hate it. You loved it actually and the rules weren’t as strict as in your home high school, which meant being a rebel was challenging.
Your uncle never minded the rebellion as you never rebelled to him about anything. The two of you functioned in harmony, so no fights were ever needed. He was fun, wise, smart, intelligent, funny as well and he was a great cook. He was also a teacher, who thought in Welton Academy for boys, and you always wondered how he ran his teachings.
He told you to never come to visit him as girls your age shouldn’t be allowed in this school. If the headmaster saw you, John would be in much trouble.
Today, however, he let you come because the two of you were planning a field trip to the city and if you wanted to catch the museum, you had to get an early start.
You were already walking down the halls, making your way to the playfield as one of the professors instructed you.
You walked joyfully on the playfield, seeing as your uncle was playing soccer with one of his class, all boys.
You stopped before you got close enough to get a ball to hit you. All the boys continued to yell, your uncle of course, enthusiastic about everything, yelled the loudest. “ GO! GO!” he shouted, whistle around his neck jumping off his chest as you let out a chuckle.
“ DON’T LET IT IN, CHARLIE!” one of the boys shouted, beaming at him as he tried to get the ball from one of them but couldn’t run fast enough to succeed.
And the goalie, Charlie, stood his position and was preparing himself to block the goal got distracted by the light reflecting off your watch right at his eyes, glanced up at the source and spread his eyes wide.
He kept looking in your eyes and somehow, not even realizing what he was doing. Before anybody else knew, another boy shouted his name, he turned his head and was faced with a ball flying at his head.
Your uncle quickly ran to him, as well as the other of his classmates. “ You alright, Dalton?” asked Mr. Keating as he leaned over Charlie.
“ Never better.” Charlie smiled broadly before sitting up and looking at you chuckling at the scene. “ Who’s the girl?” he asked and all the boys turned where he was staring.
As you saw them all turn, you stopped chuckling and waved at them.
Mr. Keating smiled, chuckling as well before pulling Charlie on his feet and patting him on the back. “ That’s my niece, completely off boundaries.” he smiled backing away and making his way towards you. “ Class dismissed!” he shouted and looked at you, grinning. “ You just couldn’t wait by the car.”
“ I was curious.” you winked and started walking alongside him.
“ Know that hormonal, teenage boys surrounded by only male population won’t forget you that quickly, (y/n).” your uncle chuckled.
“ Well, I hope not. I didn’t dress this well to be forgotten.”
---
The next time you saw another of Wellton’s boys was at a house party. You were the new girl, rebellious, gorgeous and foreign. You were friends with the most popular students in your school, so being invited to a party was sort of weekly thing.
Though there was a new face in the crowd and you just knew he was familiar.
“ To Mutt!” one of the jocks shouted, making you roll your eyes as they took a shot.
You saw the expression on the poor guy, feeling slightly sorry for him being forced to take shots like that.
“ To the mighty Mutt!” he shouted again and another shot was taken.
Nobody wears fancy clothes to a party...and he looked so familiar... you kept wondering at the corner before finally deciding to go up and talk to him. The jocks left and that gave you the perfect opportunity to talk to the familiar guy.
“ You’re not from around here, are you?” you smiled, leaning on the counter.
He looked at you, eyes wide and gulping down another shot.
“ Here...” you took the cup from his hand and offered him another one, filled with water. “ I know I’m kind of lame but water is your best friend at parties like this.” you smiled and he took a sip of water, returning the gesture.
“ Thanks.”
“ No worries.” you kept smiling, your curiosity getting the better of you. “ So, fancy pants, have we met because I swear I saw you somewhere but can’t put my finger on it?”
He chuckled, looking away for a moment before looking back up at you. “ Uh, yeah. I remember you.” he smiled. “ You might remember me in soccer shorts and a ball.”
“ OF COURSE!” you laughed, finally remembering the familiar face. “ Wellton.”
“ Hah!  Yeah.” he laughed as well. “ Couldn’t quite forget the only girl that stepped foot in that school. Especially, Charlie. He couldn’t stop dreaming of you.”
“ The goalie?” you smiled.
“ Yup. That’s the one.” he reassured, pouring himself a beer in his cup.
“ Well, it was nice meeting you....”
“ Knox.” he offered you his hand. “ Knox Overstreet.”
“ Nice meeting you Knox Overstreet. I’m (y/n) (y/l/n).” you introduced as well. “ And if you’re looking for a pretty blonde girl named Chris...she’s just around the corner, living room.” you smiled before walking away and searching for your friends.
---
“ Meeting. Tonight?” whispered Neil as he sat down next to his friends, holding on to some chemistry books.
They nodded, looking around if anybody saw them whispering. “ I’ve been thinking to bring my baby with us.” grinned Charlie.
“ Your what?” asked Meeks, furrowing his eyebrows at him.
“ His saxophone.” Cameron rolled his eyes. “ His “baby” .”
“ Why don’t you rather take Keating’s niece?” smirked Knox. “ (y/n).” he cooed, making everybody stare at him.
“ How do you know her name?” asked Neil, grinning.
“ Yeah, Knoxie. How DO you know her name?” asked Charlie more seriously.
“ I met her at a party last night. Quite friendly.” Knox stretched his smirk into a grin, leaning back on his seat.
“ How friendly exactly?” asked Cameron, smirking curiously at him while everybody watched.
“ Not that friendly. I still got my eyes on Chris but she gave me her number soooo...”
“ So invite her to the meeting!” Charlie cut in aggressively.
“ Charlie!” whispered Neil. “ We can’t just invite random girls to our meetings.”
“ Neil...have you seen her.” Charlie stated the obvious.
“ Charlie’s right. Have you SEEN her?” grinned Knox.
Everybody looked at Neil as if looking for his permission though they didn’t need it. “ Fine.” he sighed.
---
Knox turned the number and waited for you to answer on the other side. The boys kept staring at him intensively, hearing each ring as it came from the payphone.
“ Hello?” you sounded cheery, unusual after a night of partying.
“ He-Hey, (y/n). It’s Knox. Knox Overstreet. From last-”
“ Last night, yeah. I remember you Knox Overstreet.” you smiled, which Knox could tell from the sound of your voice. “ What’s up?”
“ I’ve been thinking...well, I’..I..” he stammered, not knowing how to start this conversation. “ Well, firstly I want to thank you for stopping me last night before I had too many and getting me out of the trouble.” he smiled while Charlie rolled his eyes, grabbing the payphone and shoving Knox away.
“ Hello, darling. This is Charlie Dalton, also known as Nuwanda.”
“ The goalie who couldn’t stop dreaming of me.” you teased, making Charlie flush and look up at Knox who was quietly laughing under his breath.
“ Yeah...that goalie,” he spoke through his gritted teeth as he kept glaring at Knox. “ So, we’ve been thinking if you want to join Knox and me, and my other friends as well, to a meeting?”
“ A meeting?” you quivered. “ What kind of meeting?”
“ You’ll just have to come and see.” he grinned, not even letting you speak first. “ The cave beyond the stream. If you’d like I can escort you there myself-”
“ No need. I know where it is.” you cut in. “ Name the time.”
“ After ten pm. Don’t disappoint me, love.”
Charlie Dalton never knew when he started to fall in love with Todd Anderson. It wasn't your run-of-the-mill romance that starts with love at first sight, no that was for Neil and Todd. And it's not like his repertoire of quick bouts of desires that quickly wanes after satisfaction has been achieved.
In short, Charlie doesn't fall in love.
Well, that's what he believed he was.
And that's why he found himself in Knox's room with the said man, who is looking at him with a worried expression, and he couldn't blame him after all Charlie all but grabbed his arms and whisked him to his room with only the words "We need to talk." and "Important Matter" to satiate the others inquiries.
"So," Knox speaks after a few minutes of silence. "What happened Charlie? I can't help you if you don't tell me what's wrong." Knox said it as if he doesn't want anyone but him to hear it, that even in this empty room he still wanted only Charlie to hear it, and with the revelation that dawned on Charlie? He's grateful for it.
"I," he starts, taking a deep breath. "I think I've fallen in love with some guy."
He felt pride in himself for answering that in a vague term just to not give any hints to Knox on whom it was. After all, confessing that he loves a person of the same gender was never a problem with the poets, especially Charlie who is out as bisexual. While the others aren't out to the world but have come out to each other. And with Knox being his best friend and a fellow bisexual he knew he was the best one to talk to.
"Fallen in love? You?" Knox couldn't help but smile despite his incredulous tone. "I thought you don't do love, Dalton?" It's a generous question, especially coming from Knox who knows all about his love life, with Charlie also knowing his.
"I thought so too, but it's different with him Knox." Knox nods signaling him to continue. "I found myself smiling to everything he does, how I always find ways to help him in any way, how my heart always beats fast whenever he's near, or when I want to keep him with me all the time, and-" He stopped himself when he saw Knox's grin grew wider and he continued. "What?" Charlie asked. "And you guys call me the hopeless romantic."
"Oh, you and I both know you could've described what I said in more detail, you dork."
"Yeah," Knox's smile ever grew wider. "Still I'm happy for you man, when are you going to ask him out?" Charlie's own smile disappeared on his face.
It was a simple question really, when was he gonna ask Todd out?
Never. "I can't ask him out."
"Why?" Knox looked confused at his answer.
"He's in love with someone else."
After all, Todd is hopelessly in love with Neil, his best friend.
And Neil's in love with Todd too.
And they are perfect for each other, Charlie knew this for a fact because he's seen it firsthand.
And that's why he can't ask Todd out. Because Charlie always makes sure that his friends are happy before himself. So if that meant that Todd will be happy with Neil, he'll be okay with it.
Eventually.
Right?
"Charlie," Knox speaks again after a few seconds, eyes furrowed. "Correct me if I'm wrong but I think I know who this person is."
It has been a known rule to Charlie and Knox that they don't ask for the person they are seeing if it's a casual fling or something that won't last long, usually in Charlie's case. After all, almost every person that Knox's told Charlie about were people who Knox believed were the ones, but lo and behold, still single.
This was the first time Knox asked Charlie for a name, and it felt odd that he wants Knox to know, maybe because he know he'll understand. But it can't be ignored that a part of him also wants Knox to not know so that Charlie can wallow in despair alone without dragging his friends on it.
"Shoot ahead Knoxious." He smiles, hiding the nervousness in his tone when he speaks again.
"Is it Todd?"
Damn Knox Overstreet for knowing him too well, or maybe Charlie was just too obvious. Charlie hopes it's the former.
"Ding ding ding, you're right Overstreet" Charlie's voice was meek as he spoke again, his cheeks slowly darkening to a shade of red since it was the first time he spoke it out loud. "I've fallen in love with Todd Anderson."
There were a few seconds of silence as the two just stared at each other before Knox spoke again, "Somehow I wished I wasn't right?"
"Why?"
"Cause I understand why you can't."
Charlie smiles, bittersweet. "They look great together don't they?"
Knox returns his gesture. "They sure do, but will you be okay?"
Charlie ponders the question. Will he?
Sure Charlie can say right now that he might since it's pretty much confirmed that he'll be the best man if ever those two get married. Which is very likely.
"I think I'll be."
"We'll if ever you need someone you know I'm here Charles right?"
"Of course Knoxious, you're my ride or die."
"Oh please." Knox smiles, which made Charlie smile as well.
And the two stayed there a little longer, the topic still about Todd as Charlie gushes over little things to which Knox's happily listened, one time saying that he's rubbing off on Charlie, to which the other begrudgingly accepts.
And sure maybe he can still feel this ache in his heart for a romance that can never bloom, something that's a first for him. Something that even if he wants will never reach anything. He found himself happy that at least Todd was a part of his life.
And he couldn't help but be excited on being Neil's wingman, and helping the two finally get together. After all, they deserve each other.
Charlie found himself imagining Todd walking down the aisle, with tears in his eyes as he looks at Neil as they were going to wed.
He felt happy, yet ignore the ache in his heart, the yearning.
And he found himself on his own bed in his and Cameron's shared room. Thinking that everything will slowly become okay.
Nothing bad is going to happen after all.
Right?
Nyeheheh behold a long awaited series that I've been wanting to write.
It's CHADD folks, finally, the wait is finally over and I'll finally write something for this ship AAAAAA.
So this is the Redemancy series that was on my WIP
This is a three-book collection of the story of Charlie Dalton and ToddAnderson;
Before - Of which Charlie falls in love with Todd a little too late, since Todd is already head over heels for his best friend Neil Perry.
(Won't go full detail on this one, think of this as snippets of the moments on the movies on Charlie's POV and have taken some liberties to change some points in the movie)
Now - The day before, during and after Neil Perry's passing.
(I've always upheld that if Chadd will happen either it is canon compliant or it's Chamderperry, since it's usually Anderperry and Knarlie. So yes Now focuses on the latter part of the movie, and after it.
This is pure Hurt Comfort, slow burn at its finest.)
Forever - Todd Anderson and Charlie Dalton together at until the end of time.
(Nuff said)
----
Hopefully, you all will like it! Thank you and see you on the new post.
Which isn't angst.
I promise.
...
He Meets Your Parents
master list
Charlie Dalton: Surprisingly Charlie wore a suit to met your parents during winter holidays. Your mom adored Charlie and approved of his high status and his parents income. Your dad on the other side didn't think Charlie was very fun, which was really funny to you.
Chris Noel: Chris is such a lovable person there was no way anyone could hate her. Of course you were wrong, your parents didn't really like her. Your mom strongly disliked her, saying that she wasn't up to your level. You apologized on their behalf after and she completely understood.
Gerard Pitts: Gerard visited you and your family on the summer holiday's. Your mom didn't like him very much, she thought he was very quiet. Your dad liked him very much though, liked that he was tall, smart, good looking, and played soccer. He also really liked that he had his future planned out and was head strong.
Knox Overstreet: Knox visited your parents while Chris was away at summer camp, you were to go to an acting camp the week she came back. Your mom loved Knox and your dad adored him too. Your mom approved of him because Knox knew how to keep a conversation going and was extremely kind towards you. Your dad at first was effy with Knox but slowly warmed up to him.
Neil Perry: Neil visited you during the spring holidays when you invited him over to meet your parents. Your dad didn't like that Neil wanted to be an actor didn't think it was sustainable enough and had a reliable income. Your mom on the other hand adored him and thought he was great for sticking up for what he wanted.
Richard Cameron: You and Cameron had known each other for a very long time and your parents already knew him. But still your mom was insistent you brought him over for dinner because, "We'll be meeting him in a new light!" Cameron knocked on the door and you answered leading him to the dinning room where your parents sat dressed all fancy. Safe to say that your parents adored him as expected.
Steven Meeks: Steven walked you home, you rushed him to leave before your parents saw him but it was too late. Your parents invited him inside and he couldn't say no. Your dad loved Meeks and praised him for being outstanding and future valedictorian. Your mom didn't like him as much though, thought he was a bit boring.
Todd Anderson: Todd was Neil's best friend and Neil had invited him to stay over. That's when it slipped that Todd was dating you and your parents wanted to "formally" meet him. Your mom loved Todd but didn't like that he was so reserved and nervous. Your dad didn't mind it and reassured your mom that he need time that it was very sudden.
