but so royai, they’re not explicitly canon. but arakawa. the author, put a lot of details in that implies more is going on and their relationship is very deep. there’s a detail that rizas grandfather is general grumman, a mentor to roy in the military (also note rizas dad was roy’s alchemy mentor when they were growing up), and at one point before roy is transferred to central along with the rest of team mustang, general grumman asks roy to repay him by making his GRANDDAUGHTER the future first lady of amestris since roy’s plan is to become the fuhrer. roy says not to jump the gun. there’s details of roy ahd riza have a secret way of communicating that we do see when riza is transferred to work with fuhrer king bradley, cause roy was being to nosy so bradley said BACK OFF and relocated his entire team but kept riza as a hostage to get him to play nice (royai assigned divorce by the fuhrer) and roy responded by staging a coup on the government (he did this for multiple reasons. i’m making a joke), at one point roy calls riza after he buys a shit ton of flowers (don’t ask it’s a joke/plot relevant) and he hears something in her tone that makes him ask “WHATS WRONG?” (riza was just threatened by pride, again these two aren’t the main characters and there’s so much explanation im glossing over) and she responds with nothing but mentions to her dog that “he always knows what to say when i’m down” (or something along those lines, my manga is upstairs and i’m not walking up to grab it now so bare with me), during a bonus chapter that’s canon we see roy go on one of his “dates” with his informant (he has a womanizer facade and goes on dates with woman that gather intel and they’re implied to work for roy’s paternal aunt/foster mother who runs a brothel/informant buisness WHO HERSELF HAS CONNECTIONS TO GENERAL GRUMMAN, AGAIN RIZAS GRANDFATHER) and in this chapter he’s noted as being lazy (also apart of his facade but i like to headcanon him as having adhd like me anc this chapter is something i like to use) but he is notoriously known for not doing or finishing work but he finishes EVERYTHING in time to leave on time to go on his date BUT THEN RIZA WALTZ IN with a huge ass stack of papers that would take him hours to get through and says he needs to finish it all before leaving MEANING HE’D MISS HIS DATE but roy (in true adhd fashion) powers through it in like 15 minutes and goes on the date then riza goes down to the rifle range and instead of taking her training rifle takes her actual one and shoots the targets (implying she’s taking her frustrations out, i didn’t know how to phrase that. bare with me im tired), riza says she’ll shoot roy in the back if he ever starts from his goal of restoring peace and democracy (this is where the ICONIC “i’d follow you into hell if you ask me to” comes in) to the country and during a confrontation where she THREATENS HIM WITH DOING IT he asks what SHE’D do if she shot him (basically trying to call her bluff) but she then flat out says that if she shoots him she’ll kill herself after the smoke had settled on that day (it’s the promised day) and he comes down from his fucking insanity DISARMS himself by taking off his gloves and lowers her gun and apologizes to her, then like thirty minutes later the bad guys are like “hey roy, you need to do human transmutation to be a sacrifice. so do it.” and he’s like “no.” SO THEY SLICE RIZAS THROAT and say “okay, do it or she fucking dies” AND THIS GUY US SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING IT BUT DOESNT CAUSE RIZA GLARES AT HIM WHILE BLEEDING OUT AND LATER HE SAYS LIKE “i’ve known you long enough to know that look. ‘if you do human transmution, i’ll shoot you’” (riza also says to the doctor who’s saying she’ll die that “i won’t die, im under strict orders not to die.” BECAYSE EARLIER ROY SAID THEIR ORDERS WERENT TO DIE!),

BUT THEN ROY IS FORCED THROUGH THE PORTAL OF TRUTH AND LOSES HIS EYESIGHT SO DURING THE FINAL BATTLE WHERE HES SHOOTING FIRE HE IS HOKDING ONTO RIZA WHO IS ALSO HOLDING ONTO HIM CAUSE THEYRE BOTH INJURED AND SHES HIS LITERAL EYESIGHT AND TELLING HIM WHERE TO SHOOT CAUSE SHE TRUSTS HIM RHAT FUCKING MYCH AND *screams*

but yeah, they don’t end up together canonically because when someone asked arakawa if they’d get married, or something like that, she says “i can’t have them be married because then they couldn’t be surpior/subordinate.” which is insane if her to say cause she’s never not phrased them in a way like “they’re not together” but like “they can’t be together officially”. so they’re not canon but they’re heavily implied as canon and are, i think, the most popular ship for the show on ao3 (actively going out of my way to help but am being stopped by my depression/constanly being fucking tired)

I WASNT READY FOR IT TO END AND ITS NOT READY TO END EITHER aka the sam and bucky show episode 6, season finale 😭

Let it be known that i wILL be rewatching this episode as soon as i can thANK you very much but for now here are my initial thoughts, as usual, there will be SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

Okay so.

1. Sam Captain America >>>>>>> I WAS SO HYPE TO SEE HIS SUIT and man it did not disappoint. Im kinda disappointed tho that we didnt get to see Sam react to what was in the box from the Wakandans, but the reveal during the fight was AWESOME.

2. REDWING IS BACK AHHHHHHH!!!!! The fact that the suit was Bucky’s favor from the Wakandans and that he gave Sam another Redwing 🥺🥺🥺🥺 (even tho redwing kinda blue now lmao)

3. Seeing Sharon use the facial changing tech from Winter Soldier was neat!

4. “Bucky you had one job” LMAOO

5. Sam’s fight with Karli— OMG. It was such a hugeee throwback to Steve vs Bucky at the end of Winter Soldier, where both Captain Americas refused to fight someone that they knew wasn’t the true enemy. It was scary to see Karli absolutely losing it but also heartwrenching to see Sam refuse to fight her. When she said “stay down” and he said “no” I instantly thought of “I can do this all day” LOL

6. Karli’s death scene was honestly beautiful. And Sam descending from the sky holding her 😭😭😭😭😭

7. Bucky’s phone call with Karli too. I’m glad they had a chance to talk because they have some stuff in common too. And Bucky sort of playing the “talk it through” role is 100% something he learned from Sam.

8. Sam saving the helicopter and then people clapping for him. Sam saving the truck and the man being like “that’s Captain America.” Bucky being proud of Sam. Sam giving the speech and Isaiah and Sarah and Torres being proud of Sam. SAM.

9. Bucky saving the hostages from the truck and finally using his vibranium arm to its full strength and the man thanking him. He wasn’t used to being seen as a hero and it was so wholesome and sad 🥺🥺🥺

10. Walker just entering and suddenly getting a sort of redemption arc??? Idk man i kinda like it. And him and Bucky working together for a short time was lowkey hilarious ngl. “Lincoln, really?” “Great man, great quote.” “Not when you say it.” LMAO. Im super interested to see what becomes of Walker’s character with him being the US Agent and all.

11. Okay but Bucky falling off the side of the building gave me CHILLS it reminded me so much of when he fell off the train in First Avenger 😭😭😭😭 but the superhero landing AHHHHhHH

12. Whatever Zemo’s got going on here needs to be sorted out in some future MCU movie or show cuz this man be out here playing 4D chess

13. Also whatever Sharon’s got going on here DEFINITELY needs to be sorted out too bruh this woman is the freaking power broker for all thats good and holy

14. Sam going back and talking to Isaiah. I’m so happy they got that second conversation. And Isaiah finally receiving recognition for what he did. Talking about Sam being the new cap and how it won’t be an easy fight but it’ll be a worthwhile one 😭😭

15. Bucky going back and giving Mr. Nakajima closure about his son. And finally acknowledging that he didn’t have a choice about his actions as the Winter Soldier 😭😭😭

16. Domestic sam and bucky and BUCKY WITH KIDS. AHHHHHHHHHH

17. and lastly THEY CHANGED THE NAME TO CAPTAIN AMERICA AND THE WINTER SOLDIER. WHOOOOOOOOO

With that being said I feel as if this show was a bit too short. Even within the episode there was some stuff that i wanted to be explained more. Like Bucky’s conversation with Mr Nakajima or Karli’s motivations and giving her closure with that. Theres so much that the show introduced and didnt finish as well, like Sharon as the power broker or whatever Zemo’s doin and Sam as the new Cap and Bucky slowly detaching himself from the Winter Soldier. I heard there was a new captain america movie in the works and honestly i hope either that or a second season of tfatws will be in the future because THIS ISNT FINISHED. Sam and Bucky have just began their new arcs and theres soooo much new stuff going on. Phase 4 or even phase 5 of the mcu will be so insane. Im gonna have a sam and bucky shaped hole in my heart until we see them again but Loki’s in June so I will be alright : D

The Wicked Powers Theories

The Wicked Powers has recently been getting me excited WAY too much - which says a lot about how weird I am since Cassie hasn’t even started on it yet (LOL).

aND, so, I kind of thought it’d be nice to jot down some predictions and theories on how the series might go and maybe some thoughts on THE SHIPS (that really do be the real TEA).

So.Here we go.And do let me know about any thoughts you have on this topic as well - I read anything about TWP like a crazed creature these days istg.

1)The POV has already been envisioned to be from Ty, Dru and Kit. I absolutely love this settlement since they are all very intriguing characters. Ty is an interesting person and his actions are always unpredictable, so we might enjoy this one. And,I believe he is at The Scholomance while the story progresses, followed by Livvy (Ghost Livvy, I mean).It’s still unclear what Livvy’s situation is, so I can’t wait to know more about that - it’s bound to be something unexpected. And, as for Dru, it’s kinda obvious. We all know that WE HAVE A LOVE TRIANGLE COMING UP. But, other than that, we also know she attends The Academy and finally starts to makes some friends and even has that really close Italian (..or was it Spanish???) Shadowhunter friend who’s her age and Cassie also revealed that the two are really tight indeed. And I will be honing in on the Love Triangle soon - I told you I’ll be trying to spill whatever tea I’m guessing at.  And, as for the last character WE HAVE KIT! OMFG YOU DO NOT KNOW HOW MUCH I LOVE OLDER BROTHER KIT.LIKE GOSH DARN IT HE IS SO ADORABLE AND MINA IS SO EFFING CUTE I CAN’T EVEN-                          AND KIT’S TRAINING WITH JEM AND HE IS GOING TO BE A WELL-TRAINED SHADOWHUNTER IN TWP, SO YAYYYY!! And, I absolutely CANNOT wait for MinaXKit interactions, they are the cutest siblings ever and I absolutely know that Mina grows up to be sarcastic. I can’t wait for the possible sarcastic arguments between Kit and 4-year old Mina. YOU THINK I FORGOT ABOUT KITxTY? NOPE.THE REAL SHET’S COMING UP.

2)Now,we know that the storyline is going to have something to do with that Faerie Heirloom that was from the Rosales Family. And, Cassie also said it was going to be kind of an Arthurian Legend-ish story. If you don’t know the Arthurian Legend, I suggest you read on it. I’m not sure if Cassie meant the characters and LOVE Aspect of it or the LEGEND aspect of it as in the stuff about Excalibur and all. But, for now we’ll view it in both and examine it, shall we?

This is the drama in the legend.But, there are no relationships with the MCs yet. So idk. I’m clueless. Like, maybe Dru has a relationship?? Okay I’m clutching at practically nothingness so don’t judge me. :/

So,it’s obviously something to do with the LEGEND.

I am afraid I cannot say too much about it, since I have never read too deeply about it. But, here’s some of the basics:

-He managed to pull out Excalibur from the rock it was stuck in.

-He wielded Excalibur for the people and not for his own self-interest.

-He gets help from a wizard named Merlin.

-The peeps go on a quest.

So,now I thought this was interesting- the destruction part. After all, it’s something I’m expecting about the Shadowhunters. Will the Clave maybe be destroyed? Or maybe Faerie will be destroyed? So,there were three things that brought on this uh Destruction.FIRST, his wife and his best buddy were going behind his back and doing them lovey-dovey stuff. And they all go on some quest to retrieve something important to them. So, this sounds like something plausible to be the plot of TWP. Maybe the Heirloom’s missing? And who goes on the quest though? Maybe they venture through Faerie? BLAH MY HEAD HURTS SOME THINGS ARE BETTER TO BE SURPRISED WITH ;)

-----I kinda scrolled back up while writing about Janus down there and remembered CLARY MIGHT BE TAKEN HOSTAGE LIKE YESS AND THEY GO FIND HER MAYBE?

3)We will defo see Christina, Mark and Kieran at some point- no worries, Emma and Julian too. Happy Couples! XD

4)So,then we can look forward to Dru and Jaime’s interactions. I am absolutely excited for this the most, as a shipper of the two. If you remember, we saw Jaime ignoring her for a while back there at the end of QOAAD and then he says “See ya at the Academy soon ig”. I really do hope they meet and hang out as friends, at least. I am excited to see what kind of trope it’s gonna be tho. Like, do they ignore each other and remain awkward until they start the adventure stuff in the book where they eventually have to talk to each other after years or smth. Or, maybe they’re really good friends rn. But, what I’ll warn y’all shippers is that they might not end up together, and could wind up as brother-sister-ish kind of best buddies. Which is equally cute a relationship imo. It’s a really sweet thing to be, really. I lowkey hope Cassie spins something beautiful for their relationship like a sibling-like best friends kind of thing. But, I feel like they might have feelings for each other in secret. Or maybe they date. Or maybe they suppress their secret-feelings for the sake of friendship later on in the book and end up having that really sweet friendship I was talking about.There are SO many options and that is precisely why I am so freaking excited.

5)JAIME ROCIO ROSALES.       Like, I have this gut feeling that he might end up being my fave male protagonist character in TSC. He’s got it ALL. Like, the sense of humour, the looks, the bubbly yet brooding personality, the quirks and OFC THE FRICKING NAME ITSELF IS CUTE AF LIKE BRUH I CANNOT WAIT TO READ ABOUT HIM.I have so much to say about Jaime but I’d rather we let ourselves simply wait for the crumbs Cassie might give us or maybe reread all his parts in TDA like I do everyday or just wait for the book to come out rather than simp for someone we know nothing about yet....

6)Ash Morgenstern.         He’s a cute lil bean.        That was random and untrue lmao. He’s not a ‘lil bean’. He’s totally badass with dem wings and all, but we know he’s soft inside for Janus and ofc Dru, I believe. I find him the most intriguing character, honestly. I would love to know what goes through his head. He’s actually, like, the one character in TSC that I don’t have all figured out. He gon surprise us all for sure tho. He is awesome. That’s all I have to say for now. And he looks up to Janus which is SO GODDAMN SWEET AHHHH. And THE WINGS I CANNOT WAIT TO READ MORE ABOUT THE WINGS IT SOUNDED SO BADASS ISTG I LITERALLY CANNOT WAIT GOSH DARN IT. But he really do be a cute lil bean lowkey tho.

7)Kit and Ty LOL. I have no words really. But lemme tell you how it might go. There is definitely going to be some kind of reunion. AND THEN THAT’S WHERE IT GETS CUTE. They could either be awkward and we know what tension that gets us-perhaps some whisperings of My Watson...(?  ;) and maybe they go all sad and brooding with dem looks later OR, they could be the sweetie-pies they were before and be happy and all HIII BUDDDYYYY MISSED YAAA LESS GO BE DETECTIVES YAY BURN IT UP MAH BUDDY!! Either way it’s going to be cute af and we know it . TRUST IN CASSIE Y’ALL.I trust Cassie to let this ship sail the seven seas and seven more like it deserves.

8)Ash and Dru So, Ash has a strange lil fixation on Dru and I believe he even thought she was ‘pretty’ or something. It was definitely a good adjective, but I think he said ‘pretty’. idk but we know he likes her. and I can imagine a nice relationship. I can picture them with her hair flying in the wind and they meet for the first time or smth. IHNI WHAT IM SAYING. But, there will be DRAMA. They are going to be real cute with each other YOU CAN BET ON THAT.And, by cute I do not necessarily mean ‘Oh, you have the loveliest eyes’ or some shet like that. I have a feeling it’s going to be a case of ‘Well,that’s not weird or anything YOU WEIRDO - NO U - NO U - NO U’ However this relationship is going to go, I know that it’ll be a sweet one.And, for all you shippers of these two, I have no assurances that HE IS THE ONE or anything but he is definitely a candidate. Jaime is going to be some competition I can tell. So, idk. It depends on the Jaime x Dru ship to decide things for Ash x Dru ship imo, since it might be a no-brainer if the two have feelings for each other- I mean,Jaime is an actually perfect love interest in TSC, while Ash is strong potential Best-Friend material, so it’s ONLY if Jaime and Dru don’t like each other that way that Ash could make it as a love interest. So, if y’all wanna find out what’s in it for you guys, ask Cassie maybe about how the Jaime x Dru ship might go, the next time u wanna ask her ;)

9)Tavvy and maybe the kid Helen and Aline might have had We were getting hints of another baby, so HERE WE GO.Tavvy might have a playmate. :D. YAYYYYYYYYYY

10)Janus  I’m honestly worried about him. He is a worrisome character. I hate empathising with the antagonist, personally. AAAAHHHH . I hope we see some character development in him. I really don’t want to see him as an antagonist in the story. He’s sweet and feels cheated, but he should realise that it ain’t Jace’s fault but SEBASTIAN’S fault. I would like for him to make amends with Jace :( And, also, he might get the story started in TWP tho idk. But, seriously tho, when he went home in that short story and Ash asked, “I thought you were gone forever?” or something of that sort and he shook his head sadly and Ash went soft for him. Like, that fricking broke my heart. I love this relationship tho. And, i hope Clary and him can be good friends. But, I feel like he might end up dying to save her or smth and make us all cry . T_T

11)WHAT TF IS GOING ON WITH THE SHADOWHUNTER POLITICS RN THO?HOW AND WHERE ARE THEY ALL SURVIVING TOGETHER WHAT IS THEIR SYSTEM AND STUFF THIS IS NOT A POINT WITH POTENTIAL THEORIES COZ HONESTLY I WANT TO BE SURPRISED BUT I THINK THEY MIGHT ALL JUST BE IN HIDING AND THEN IN TWP THEY MIGHT HAVE TO COME OUT FOR A QUEST OR SMTH AND WHAT IS HAPPENING TO THE SHADOWHUNTERS AT THE CLIMAX OF THIS WHOLE SERIES??? IT IS THE END OF TSC SO IM SCARED AND KINDA SAD TOO :(((((((

12)Thule We might learn more about the Thule world and maybe they restore it or maybe the Quest is in Thule. idk. we don’t know much, but Thule will most probably be explored a lot. Cassie wouldn’t have opened up Thule for no reason.

13)Zara and Emma  Showdown? Befriend e/o ? What’s in store for these two? If it’s a showdown we get to see CORTANA YAY I AM OBSESSED WITH CORTANA NOW BECAUSE OF CORDELIA AND HER OBSESSION GOSH DARN IT WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO ME

14)BIG WAR I see a huge war coming I just know it. It’s a climax so there MUST be a big war and so I cannot wait! Feel like there’s gonna be some deaths as well. Lowkey feel like Jia might die. I can feel it. :(

15)The best-friend shadowhunter of Dru is a nice thing to look forward to! I can’t wait to read about the two! And I love the fact that Dru is finally exposed to new people. And, for anyone who’s confused as to how she goes to the Academy, in QOAAD she only said she’ll have some maturity done AFTER some years .  Those years are over and she at the Academy now hecc yeah I BELIEVE THE BFF IS CALLED THAI AND SHE’S FROM THE SPANISH INSTITUTE CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG???

Warning long post and warning some headcanons are angst triggering

Ok I know I should finish up some Headcanons I already write but then BSS SPY AU is super fun af and I don't think i can stop cos i established so much.

Like I mentioned before the SPY AU actually have no specific fixed team the current was ALPHA, BETA AND GAMMA.But the team have a few shuffles already before BSS SPY AU HAPPENS.

Also I am trying drop more info here so that maybe we could spice up BSS SPY AU later on

My defo main point for SVT DEPARTMENT = theme song would be Chuck and ending song would be CALL CALL CALL

Headcanon for overall would be them very look up to their sunbae, Suju.

But they are also trying hard to walk away from the stereotype people are making.

They are hardworking and went for mostly all the classes hence they basically can do everything.

I am thinking idol Olympic is kinda like the sport test for K-SPIES. And SVT is famous for aceing the archery part.

Except for languages lol that is the reason why Foreigner line is here.

Them sitting down to discuss are always noisy af lol

They are known to be noisy on par with Shinhwa and Suju lol

It was devastating when angst happened where Jonghyun could not get past trauma and killed himself and poor SoonYoung cried his heart out and SVT members just hugs him.

ROCKET TEAM - Joshua and Vernon

What to expect : Gentleman, Suits and looks like rich kid. Perfect to place them in socialising event to collect information.

MY I TEAM- Jun and Minghao

What to expect : They were doing their own thing prior joining. Wushu. They were deeply touched by the family feel SVT department gives out and decided to stay and leave their homeland. Maybe used to be fighter assassins for other places Then were captured or held custody by some other groups prior joining SVT (My I MV where they got tied up)

Will purposely use chinese to converse too annoy members lol. Them 2 will often social with their other China line spies in K-SPIES. Jun is the bright one and easy to mingle with other members but Minghao took some time. Minghao observes how they treat Jun and then decided to drop his guard.

If you use SVT members as hostage, prepared to get beaten, especially China line. They values SVT alot.

BRING IT TEAM - HOSHI AND WOOZI

What to expect : Spandex and leathers (kinda like the undercover mission as seen in The man from Uncle), fight scenes, SoonYoung being hyper and Jihoon being the calm one. Of course, SoonYoung could be the calm one too sometimes. Cues in SoonYoung's "Woozi, praise me! I did a good job right!"

What to expect : if you think they are soft, you are wrong. You could them singing or dancing on street maybe at Melbourne or Tokyo serving looks, captivating audience to misdirect and distract. For this team DK WILL BE THE SNIPPER hiding at rooftop and gives support. Jun and Mingyu would be the double fighter.

JUST DO IT team- BSS, also the Gamma team in BSS SPY AU. One of the best combination made.

What to expect : misdirection/blend in team, loud crackheads during meetings, they can just go in somewhere or to someone and then puts eavesdropping gadget with a straight face. Spy kids meets James bond. More you can go read the posts for BSS SPY AU. The best imitating group ever. They can imitate other members so well sometimes they just stand in for other members to confuse enemies.

What to expect : If BSS is the perfect balance, this group maybe the most aggressive one. Also fight scenes while wearing suits. Using ties to tie up opponents wrist. Fast in speed too. MALE ALPHA PHEROMONES OVERLOAD.

CHANGE UP Team- S.COUPS, Hoshi and Woozi

What to expect : expect twist yo, you thought they look civilian, but this is like the mini version of the most aggressive team. Also awkward but not awkward team? S.COUPS AND HOSHI TEASING ON WOOZI TO GIVE THEM MOTIVATION SUPPORT LOL. These 3 are the dads of the team don't mess with them. Don't ever use SVT members as hostage to make them bend. Maybe during the process, S.COUPS got injured or captured then Bring it team just happened.

4 - Has your character ever witnessed something that fundamentally changed them? If so, does anyone else know?

I am still debating on whether Lyd was there to witness her sister die, or whether she came back to their apartment after the turf war and saw everything destroyed and Rou’s mangled body in the rubble and realized what happened and that it was her fault, and sat quietly for several hours in the ruined house before packing up what little remained and leaving for good. even if she didn’t “see” it, the death of the only person she ever cared about, this girl who she grew up with and who trusted her with her care, was the moment she realized that if she continued down the path she was on by remaining with the Reds, she was going to end up dead or in jail before she hit 25, and it’s what drives her to make a change. She doesn’t talk about how much it changed her, but a few people know she had a sister who died. Anderson was the closest thing she had to a father figure and as a fresh recruit so soon after the trauma, I think she was still caught in that “I need someone to know but I don’t want to TALK about it” stage, and he happened to be there and squeeze it out of her. I think Garrus parses together later that she’s lost someone close, but doesn’t realize it was family/a sibling until she discusses it herself, and even that conversation is like pulling teeth. I do think Lyd might have mentioned it freely to Samara during one of her talks, though; Samara has a calming maternal presence Lyd hasn’t ever known before and she knows she won’t be judged.

Akuze was also an Experience, tho it wasn’t something she can really put to words on how it affected her behavior or mentality. That brush with death and traipsing through the desert for two days suffering heat exhaustion and dehydration was the worst part of it, obviously, but during the attack, she saw her CO order several teams into strategic positions to bomb the maws, which she realized was a diversion as he attempted to escape on a shuttle as the maws killed the platoon. (One of the maws shot up from the ground and broke the shuttle in two, killing everyone onboard, and obviously she was the only one who witnessed that and survived.) later when she thinks about it, it infuriates her. I don’t think she includes it in the official report because so young and new to the Navy, she’d feel bad betraying a senior officer KIA, but she carries that into ICT training and it kind of hardens her resolve to become a good PERSON, not just become a good leader. when she realizes people are going to start looking to her with the same trust one day, she puts an immense amount of pressure on herself not to be the person who’d leave behind a cremate because it was tactically reasonable. As for if anybody knows that, no. She doesn’t talk about Akuze much, for obvious reasons.

6/7 - Does your character have recurring themes in their dreams/nightmares?

She doesn’t dream much. (She definitely doesn’t dream about that little shit running through the woods in ME3! If she ever did, though, I think she’d dream it was her sister.)

When she does have nightmares I think they are of those two days she spent wandering the desert on Akuze, trying to make it back to the LZ but knowing she’s far more likely to die there, and no one will ever know or care about her again, wondering if anyone would ever find her body, talking to hallucinations that visit in the heat. By ME3, she’s got a repressed fear of asphyxiation (coming from suffocating in space/drowning when talking to the Leviathan) so that might also feature as a theme, but not the main core of dreams themselves. I have this idea that a particular nightmare she has in 3 that haunts her might be one in which the Leviathan refused to let her go and she was trapped in Despoina’s ocean for the rest of time, watching the Reapers destroy everything and the rest of the universe carry on, until eventually someone forgets that she’s down there at all.

19 - What is your character’s biggest relationship flaw? Has this flaw destroyed relationships for them before?

so I think some of my characterizations reflect what’s usually there in canon, just exaggerated tenfold lol. Shepard’s got this huge urge to fix every problem and be everybody’s therapist and 2AM call, but the instant someone turns that lens around to try to help her with her own problems, she shuts down, because why aren’t they minding their damn business? So there’s a bit of a hypocrisy thing (and I feel like I really didn’t portray this at all in my fic, where Shepard lays everything at Garrus’s feet because She’s Sad, so I’m doing my best to make this emotional repression integral to the emotional plot of my next fic). but I also feel like it’s because she sees herself as a caretaker to almost everyone she considers a friend - she’s the caretaker, she’s the top of the pyramid of responsibility, if someone sees she needs looking after, she subconsciously takes it as a question of her capability/status. The only exceptions are people like Anderson (and to a lesser extent, Hackett), because she knew them as superiors first and is more likely to rationalize comfort from them as her officers comforting their subordinate.

When I say caretaker btw I don’t mean that like, she’s gonna make sure everyone on the ship eats and brushes their teeth and packs them lunch every morning. But she lowkey sees their emotional trauma as her duty too, and she tells herself it’s because (in ME2) she’s trying to recruit them to her side in case TIM decides to betray her, because she needs them ready for the upcoming war, because she needs them at their peak performance to do their jobs, etc (all of those things are true, Shepard, but also you’re just lonely). So also I think the nature of her urge to fix-it, while it comes from a good place, is also a bit presumptuous: she’s not gonna be your mom and if you’re on her ship, she’s gonna treat you like an adult, but she does consider everyone her responsibility beyond the line of formality. she doesn’t want a repeat of her sister and Akuze and Alchera, and she expects her team to bring up personal issues to her if they’ll be problems. It only occasionally crosses her mind that some people might not be entirely comfortable with telling a stranger their life story, and she NEVER thinks about how if she were faced with a similar situation, she’d rather die than let a CO knew that SHE has an emotional weakness lol.

SO ANYWAY. Has this ever damaged her relationship? The argument with Joker in ME3 is a prime example, though I think Shepard calmed down and apologized before it did any real damage. Since developing this tick the people she’s been closest to have been Anderson and the crews of the Normandy. Of those people, I think Anderson, Garrus, Liara, and Chakwas would go out of their way to specifically check in on her wellbeing. I went into this above, but concern from Anderson and Chakwas she rationalizes as genuine but also professional care; Anderson is her mentor and Chakwas is her physician. Liara she knows means well, but chafes when she pries too far in ME1. (She’s not offended, she knows Liara is just curious, but her past is a locked door that she will not be opening unless she can help it.) Garrus is a former cop, and before he was a detective I think he might’ve been a first responder to hostage situations or been on calls on domestic violence, etc. I think he recognizes trauma when he sees it, and years of knowing Shepard (and following her example) have taught him to recognize when someone wouldn’t be receptive to traditional consoling. Soooo I think he would know not to try the usual approach he would with victims, what he does is be himself and give her company and remind her to sleep and make sure none of his friendly suggestions come off too cloyingly, and if she wants to talk about it, then she’ll talk about it. (NGL this is also wrapped up in my complicated ideas of how Garrus treats Shepard: despite what he says he’s still got a turian urge to defer to her authority and not overstep his boundaries, but he’s struggling to reconcile that with his new status as a partner, and also HE’S got a bit of a fix-it complex himself that he turns right back on her, so.)

(Kaidan is also a person who subtly offers Shepard a shoulder to lean on in ME1, and she doesn’t really pick up on the hints. It’s possible he may have succeeded in getting her to open up in ME3, tho he died on Virmire in my playthrough. I’m sorry, Kaidan.)
