Very interested to see how Livvy & Ty’s relationship worsens throughout the wicked powers.

We already know that the ghost bond between Ty & Livvy is not good on Ty physically. Ie: Livvy being away from Ty made Ty literally pass out. I can imagine that by TWP, things have gotten worse.

My theory is that during TWP, I think at some point Ty will realise that keeping Livvy around is cruel- and that she deserves to rest. I think they’ll do something to finally relinquish Livvy’s soul (and by doing so, let Ty finally let go of his grief). However: I think ghost Livvy will retaliate from this.

She would hold onto Ty for as long as she could. I’m interested to see how this would go. My theory kind of ends here- but I could see Ghost!Livvy kind of start to drain Ty’s life force. WHICH would lead Ty to probably telling his family what’s going and what happened to him.

Except: I do think that Livvy would be the one to finally let herself rest. She’s mad about the way she died, she’s mad that she didn’t get to live her life. I think once she realised shes hurting Ty she will let herself leave, which references what Magnus told her.

IE: which plays into the fact that Livvy’s fate has already been sealed (her death)

Since we have seen that shadowhunters can pass between worlds (however it may happen), and since Cassie said that she’s been reading her work again to find any plot-holes, etc. I think she may do something about this paragraph in TWP, what with it being the last series

ending with the Nephilim having found a way to keep the demon invasions from happening in the future.

bestie I need your help because I always see people mention that it's canon that jem and will were in love but I can't remember anything like that in the books so are they just kind of exaggerating or is it actually canon 😭😭 it's been too long since I read these books

so the answer no but also yes but no but yes hope that helps :)

if your question is "do they have an on-screen romance on par with the other romances in the books which involves them mutually acknowledging their romantic feelings for one another", the answer is no. in the infernal devices, their relationship is presented as a really close platonic relationship (with notable homoerotic overtones, but which man in tsc hasn't been there). HOWEVER,

there's two quotes from other tsc stories that people usually bring up when disussing this:

Clary took a deep breath. "Were you ever in love? Before the Brotherhood? Was there ever anyone you would have died for?" There was a long silence. Then: Two people, said Brother Zachariah. There are memories that time does not erase, Clarissa. Ask your friend Magnus Bane, if you do not believe me. Forever does not make loss forgettable, only bearable. (city of lost souls)

and

“What you said before,” she asked. “That Jace Herondale loves Clarissa Fairchild more than anyone you’ve ever known except someone — you never finished the sentence. both of these are notably from spinoff stories set 100+ years after the infernal devices, though, so basically..... interpret it how you want to. cc said she did not intend to write them as a romance (and i don't think they are in tid), but that's what death of the author is for.

in MY humble opinion they were in love but only in the same way will & jem are one person. so like, yes, but not in the most literal sense, but it's kind of woven into every word in those books so you'd have to be quite blind not to catch it, and the story is stronger for it being a natural interpretation of the text rather than it being something that is outright stated (more than a few times, at least). but what do i know. hope this helps!

I think there’s something really interesting about the fact that so much of Livvy & Ty’s ghostly bond being unhealthy due to the spell being poorly done, also reflecting the fact there relationship is growing unhealthy.

Should preface: Livvy & Ty love each other very much - I don’t think either is toxic to one another but I think there situation is unhealthy.

When Ty first raises Livvy, Livvy warns Ty that what he is doing is wrong. But Ty tells Livvy that all he wants is her, there is nothing without her. And she says “is that what you want”

Not what SHE wants, what he wants. Livvy knows she can’t come back, she knows it’s wrong but she would do anything for Ty. It kinda puts it into perspective, should Livvy be allowed to rest peacefully? I feel like this line is sentiment that Livvy would never put her own happiness above Ty’s. Livvy deserves to rest, but if Ty wants her back, shouldn’t she go back? He said it so. There’s nothing here without her.

Binding Livvy to this world and to Ty himself has made them develop this kind of co-dependency on each other.

Ty & Livvy have to be with one another or else they start feeling wrong. They’ve grown to always rely on each other.

Livvy doesn’t have any other options. She can ONLY talk to Ty, and Ty feels very obligated towards Livvy as well. Bringing Livvy back and how her ghostly presents work is like then tying there souls together, like there just one person.

Neither of these characters really feel as if they get to the live there own lives, again- feeling very responsible for the other person.

All of Ty’s relationships are limited because of Livvy. She’s probably his greatest sin. He literally can’t tell anyone about her. Bringing someone back is strictly forbidden in shadowhunter society. How imagine how he thinks Julian would react to the news? He probably fears that his entire family would hate him.

It’s almost as if Ty has isolated himself because of Livvy. Never really giving himself out to anyone or letting himself that the opportunity to do so.

And again, it’s the same for Livvy. She has no option but to talk to Ty. She could talk to Kit, but Kits made it obvious he doesn’t really wanna talk to her. Livvy, a character so full of life- has to watch others live the life that she wishes she could live from a far. In GOTSM, we see how much she actually hates being a ghost. But she loves Ty to much to say that.

And again: Ty & Livvy being away from each other physicallys hurts one another. There always bound to be together. And I wonder if maybe Cassandra wanted to play on the fact of those old sayings that twins have one soul split into two.

As much as I want Livvy to come back, I think there arc is meant to end as Livvy finding peace in the afterlife- and Ty finding peace without Livvy :,( my doomed siblings

After overanalyzing the comic I've come to the conclusion the first panel IS canon (I want to kiss you, but—) and we don't know why Kit won't kiss Ty cuz it'd be a HUGE spoiler. Not need to say I'm terrified for my life.

Am I the last person on earth to realize I have loved you and you haven't known it might mean that Ty not just did know what Kit meant with I love you, Ty, I love you but that he also regrets not saying it back? That maybe if he had, Kit wouldn't have left. That maybe, on top of the guilt he feels for the ritual, he's also carrying the guilt of not saying it back? Because maybe, just maybe, if he hadn't been so shocked by [everything that was going on at that moment] he could've stopped Kit from leaving. Maybe if he could've said it at the time, Kit would've stayed. That he thinks he lost Kit because of it. That part of his self imposed penance is related to that.

I was rereading sobh because I remembered we had some letters written by Ty. Which, like the gold it was, I had to reread so I could get a better understanding on his voice.

And of course I ended up reading more than I intended. Specifically, I read Emma catching Ty speak to Livvy's ghost (tho she didn't know it was Livvy). And now I can't help but think that everyone is going to think Ty is secretly dating someone when he's really not. Like maybe Kit having a secret girlfriend was a clue to the drama of Kit thinking Ty has a girlfriend or boyfriend.

Just imagine that within the first two or three chapters of The Last King of Faerie Kit hears Emma or Julian mention this and freaks out. And because he's bad at communicating (Dru said it, not me) during the whole book, Kit is angsting over Ty being in a relationship. (Except he isn't. It's all a big misunderstanding. Which seems to be the theme of KitTy tbh 🤔)
