Max does the whole “this is my hallway!!” thing and Kai’s like “fun fact I literally do not care” and he pisses her off so much she kicks him in the balls- she meets the rest of the prudes while on the run from various teachers who’re trying to expel her or something

Kai was in the Waylon Place night of the prank to try and relax and get away from the chaos of Hatchetfield. There isn’t a sign of anyone breaking in bc Kai knows how to pick locks. Kai hangs out there a lot.

She walks in on them looking at Max’s (almost) dead body and is like “woah you guys killed that guy!!! ö haha I’m gonna go call the cops on yall I’m OUT!!!”

…Grace then blackmails her into helping bury/hide the body because she threatens to pin everything on Kai (bc Kai breaks in and shit)

Theres this scene with max and kai im making into a comic that has something to do with snickers and it needs to be real because it’s silly and also it makes way for this idea:

What’s Neel’s family like? Friends? How did he become Hunt’s assistant?

Neel is kinda-sorta a self insert so im not gonna go to into detail about his related family but i will say: big and mormon. his immedeate family left the church when he was a kid though so hes normal. mostly. not really.

his other family is that he's Chris' second divorce! it was amicable if awkward and theyve grown past it. mostly. kinda. like they can work together. the feelings between them are a little muddied bc they do still love each other but also they wanted different things out of their lives

since he's lowkey A Version of the hwu mc (basically an amount of what isnt canon for hwu!Avalon is canon for hwu!him, & since rcd!Avalon never went to hwu he is the Only hwu mc in the rcd version. barring the differences between hwu and rcd of course. he never started his own production studio in either lmao) hes friends w all of the main cast of hwu. hes closest w Holly and Ethan bc he still regularly works with/sees them, next is Crash, then Addi, then Lisa and Aria. he & Marco weren't ever super close but they do hang out from time time to time :) they do like each other a lot, its just that theyve got their own things going on. also Chris-but-kinda-not and he and Hunt have Something going on. its weird tho.

so in hwu, during maybe his second or third year he becomes Hunt's like TA for a work/study thing bc by that time Hunt's started making movies again & doesnt have as much time to focus on his teaching stuff. it was initially going to be just for the teaching stuff, but he was a good enough teaching assistant that he eventually became Hunt's straight up assistant

for rcd, Hunt only taught a single year before being like Actually Fuck This, but the students w a lot of potential did stick out in his mind as people to watch and/or work with (like Addi), & he just remembered Neel from that. originally Neel was doing something other than assisting him (im stuck between set design, best boy (either electric or grip works for him), and cinematographer. but he can do all of these and more. this is where the self insert part gets a little wish fulfilling lol) & Hunt liked him enough that he kept hiring him for stuff, & eventually his roles kept branching out to other stuff to the point that Hunt just dubbed him "assistant" and put him on a constant pay. he calls himself Hunt's Most Special Little Guy On Set bc he knows it pisses Hunt off lol but it is accurate bc he does A Lot for Hunt. i just love it when there is A Guy who is the lynchpin for an entire business & if he stops working it grinds to a hault lol hes part of a union btw and Hunt is a really good employer

I'm right there with you, Mephisto definitely seems to be incredibly snobby. I'm trying to withhold my judgment until we get more interaction with him, though. I didn't like most of the characters at first until I got to know them better. I also think he's probably especially like that around Lucifer, considering the whole Mephisto is supposed to be Diavolo's best friend thing... I think Mephisto means well, but he's just a little misguided.

Oh yes, I absolutely think that Lucifer knows something. In my post about this lesson, I included screenshots of all the times Lucifer said only "..." which was an unusual number of times lol. So I'm pretty sure he knows something that he isn't saying. Just one of the many things about him that makes me crazy. My MC would probably ask him about it directly like hey what's with all these awkward silent pauses? What do you know?? Not that Lucifer would tell them, but at least they could say I'm onto you lol.

mingi is truly truly such a fun and fascinating character to both write and unveil to you guys ;-; he's exceptionally intelligent beyond the scope of understanding emotions period but he gets treated like he's dumber because he doesn't understand emotions bc in the others' eyes emotions are just simple and easy to understand. mingi def possesses a different kind of intelligence but that kind of intelligence is on the same level of yeosang iw ould say! so it's easiest to think of it as mingi has a different kind of smartness compared to someone like say,,,,jongho or san who both have very good and high emotional intelligence!

1) DOES the man have a conscience? this interim is very telling in that regard and his thought process and the what some would call "intrusive thoughts" really showcase who he is as a person!

2) there are so many layers to him and you really get it bc he does keep everyone at arms length, even seonghwa to some degree bc the whole reason him and seonghwa aren't together is bc hongjoong shut him down the moment seonghwa started expressing his feelings towards hongjoong, he likes to keep to himself and doesn't like to leave his space for many reasons but we now know that one of those reasons is the past feelings of failure and loss coming back to haunt him, and bingo right on the money, he changes the way he wants to come across to people. prime example in yunho at the end of the interim, i think that scene is the absolute best showcase of hongjoong's character and who he is and how he operates.

3) he is DAMN CRAZY!!! i feel like i haven't so much shown that to the degrees that his character really is batshit insane so we're tiptoeing into those waters more now. you do have to think though, with the notion that he changes the way he wants to come across to people, when he's being "called out", is it accurate? or is it what hongjoong is presenting so they think they know what kind of person he is? when mc calls him out on his shit, it's often a two way punch where it as much about her as it is about him so much to think about! he's far far beyond a control freak tehe :3

the fun paradox in mc is that dynamic of wanting to be approved and accepted by him but also having this point blank issue with authority and also how hongjoong excises his authority. and that's been a big point of confusion too i think so im trying to delve more into it and expose more of it so that it makes more sense but there is meant to be a contradiction in her actions for sure

yeosang has been the only one to beat hj at chess, and he is not the lieutenant. we know that hongjoong personally selected seonghwa before yeosang joined the crew and that the position has never swayed, and we also know that yeosang is the master strategist on the crew, which is something a lieutenant would usually take care of so it lends to some questions about how hongjoong views authority in his crew? as far as the chess game goes, his queen was indeed seonghwa, the main bishop he used to both attack and sabotage his own pieces was san, he himself was king, then though not as heavily touched on, the other pieces i had in mind were: mingi and jongho were both knights, yeosang was the other bishop, then mc, wooyoung, and yunho were pawns. who minho was really referring to ;) is quite the twist but a fun one :3

You know how people are like well Ozzy and Marshall have to be twins or brothers but then some people think it’s just the artists just drawing Islanders similar? Well this is absolutely intentional since the account with all the leaks released the future islanders expressions and the og islanders expressions. I’ve seen so many people say they think it’s just the avatar being recycled but it can’t be.

If you look closely Marshall and Ozzy are drawn almost exactly the same. Same eye colors and even same face features to a degree. The eyebrows are almost the same shap except Marshalls had the slit and are more angular. Their face lines are also the same even around the eyes. One of the only differences other then the eyebrows is that Marshalls have a redder undertone or shading around his eyes sometimes. Another is one of the expression that is slightly different but almost identical is the half smile they both blush on Ozzy’s half smile is drawn more lopsided and to the left while Marshalls is drawn more towards the center. Their angry face Marshall shows teeth, Ozzy does not. Yet the expressions are all almost identical there’s only like slight differences meanwhile all the other islanders facial features are unique and they have different looking expressions. They didn’t change the facial features almost at all except for the eyebrows and slapped a beard on his face. Idk how people don’t see them being related. Artists recycling the face feature is one thing but then they’d all look just as much a like as Ozzy and Marshall do but they don’t.

I feel like that officially proves their related because the art shows it being quite intentional. I wanna know if their twins or brothers though. I would love another set of twins in the villa tbh like let other people in the villa feel how awkward it is to have your sibling here. 👀

IT’S KAIRI.

KAIRI HAS POTENTIAL BUT DOESN’T DO ANYTHING WITH IT. SHE CONSISTENTLY FAILS TO SUCCESSFULLY EXPLORE AND MAXIMIZE HER POTENTIAL BECAUSE SHE AS A CHARACTER IS STUCK.

SHE WAS INTENTIONALLY WRITTEN TO /BE/ STUCK. IT HAS TAKEN HER NEARLY 20 YEARS TO EVEN TAKE THE FIRST STEP TO BECOMING /UNSTUCK/. IT WAS GRUELING AND BORING AND ABSOLUTELY INFURIATING. BUT THAT’S THE TYPE OF JOURNEY SHE’S BEEN ON. And it wasn’t an easy one, for her or the audience.

But the thing holding her back isn’t the writing, nomura, misogyny, or any other bs.

It’s been Kairi herself.

Kairi, being the person she is, having the mindset she has, has been holding herself back. She is her own biggest obstacle, and that’s what I keep trying to explain.

And it’s not that kairi holds herself back by “being a shitty character”. She literally just has a stagnant world view that HASN’T DEVELOPED OR GROWN OR CHANGED SINCE KH1.

That is canonically her role. The one friend who doesn’t want her life, friendships, or world to change. Regardless of the reason, that’s her character. That unwillingness to change is what Kairi EMBODIES.

So it makes COMPLETE sense for people to become frustrated and hopeless. It makes sense that people are “pushing” her, begging and praying that Kairi “do something” already. Because we genuinely want her to succeed.

But think of a person in real life. Sometimes you can’t just PUSH someone to grow when they’re not ready, before it’s their time.

And that’s what i get frustrated with. I completely understand that the role Kairi plays will purposely ELICIT that type of reaction, of pushing and expecting and anticipating and pushing—only to be let down again and again.

But it’s a shame some people don’t realize that she’s been set on this path with no end with /purpose/.

And now that she’s straying from that endless path, people are sighing with relief. “Oh, /finally/, they /fixed/ her.” As if she as a character just happened to be broken and needed mending.

Like, no. She is /supposed/ to be broken. Character wise, and story wise. We even get an explanation for what broke her. But people still act like she’s just been a poorly written, unlucky girl character who got shafted for the sake of the two main characters.

Like, that’s literally the embodiment of her story. She /is/ a poor, unlucky girl who got yeeted from her home and family at like age four and she’s been traumatized and trapping herself in the past ever since.

“Well, her story should be of kairi /actively working through her trauma/, instead of just doing nothing.” Except that’s not how it WORKS. Not everyone will just “deal with their trauma” right away, or even decades after the traumatic event. Many kh characters /do/, but they’re not kairi, and kairi isn’t them. She’s living with her trauma in her own way, and I want people to understand that. Even if it’s unhealthy for her, even if it comes at the cost of making her story “boring” and uninteresting. Trauma doesn’t always have to be packaged as some action-packed superhero story that’s fun to consume. Realistically, it isn’t, and that’s why i think kairi’s way of living with her trauma is under-appreciated. She represents a story that’s underrepresented in media.

But it’s like some people “do not see it” and just, shit on her. Like, fair, you don’t have to love her or even like her. A PERSON LIKE KAIRI can be hard to love to some people. That’s a hard truth. People in real life won’t wait around for you to get your shit together, sometimes. That’s just how it goes.

But I’d like for her role, the journey/story that she embodies, to be appreciated, at least. It’s done very well, and very subtly. She isn’t written to be EXPLICITLY OR EXPRESSLY “the one who falls behind bc of trauma or weakness”. She just /IS/, and that’s why people genuinely don’t recognize that she has a role of her own. A necessary evil, in order for the payoff to be worth it once she does grow out of it.

Like, think of Riku. His necessary evil was falling to darkness. And he worked like hell to climb his way out of it.

The difference between riku’s and kairi’s necessary evils is that Riku’s is more interesting on paper. It’s Riku against an Outside Force, as well as himself.

Kairi has little to struggle with other than herself, her own stagnant character and trauma. It just isn’t as interesting when there isn’t any physical embodiment of her internal struggle for her to physically fight against (such as Riku vs Ansem). Xehanort /was/ both her internal and Outside Force, but he’s been controlling her behind the scenes. It’s all a very good metaphor imo, bc it meant Kairi literally never got to confront him face to face until recently—ONLY FOR HER MEMORY OF SORA TO FIGHT HER BATTLE INSTEAD.

Which is maybe why lots of people hate that fight.

But as with everything, it was definitely done for a reason. We just don’t know why, yet. At face value, it really just seems like Kairi was (subconsciously) unwilling to face her Outside Force, even within her own mind. This was her chance to confront the cause of her trauma face to face, and she didn’t. Again.

See what I’m saying? But maybe now she’s beginning to realize that she has to become stronger, physically and mentally, in order to steel herself against the battles to come, both external and internal.

Anyway, this is all my opinion and personal interpretation. I’m not saying my interpretation is factually correct and that i’m tryna indoctrinate people lol. And it’s only one of many rambles i’ve jotted down 😭😭😭 I just want Kairi’s role to be understood, even if it’s to understand how difficult it is to appreciate lmao.

he ends up whispering something into your ear, and your eyes light up in realization. “oh! so how princess bubblegum likes marceline?”

but being shouto todoroki has it’s advantages. he isn’t afraid of being as direct as he could possibly be.

“may i have the honor of being your lifelong partner?”

“oh, romantically. i’d love to be your lover, Y/N.”

the way he sees you stumble with your words, as you pace back in forth— completely flustered by his words

you’re so kind, sweet, and helpful. you’d help anyone— regardless of their personality. and that’s what made tamaki interested in you

but you’re also very popular. which he could see why— since you’re attractive in a unique and special way.

tamaki absolutely disliked the idea of your kindness being taken advantaged of. i mean,, the guts of some people!

but he also hated being the one to break the news to you good or bad

he’s not good with the blunt stuff either, and he might’ve been worried about being around you— because well,, you look like you wouldn’t even hurt a fly.

nejire and mirio are SO amused by this pairing. i mean, it’s an interesting dynamic! how could they not be invested?

yet, they refuse to even explain things to you, especially when tamaki’s around to do said explaining

because apparently, ‘it’ll help you socialize more, especially with Y/N!’

but remember when i said that tamaki wasn’t great with the blunt approach? yeah— he’d have a heart attack, just trying to explain his feelings

“oh sure! i should go tell mirio and nejire” you’d say that with a smile, and it felt like he was going to pass away on the spot.

nejire and mirio were the ones the tell you that ‘no, tamaki doesn’t want to be friendly with you, because he wants to romantically date you.’

and it felt like forever when they were explaining how and why, while tamaki was sitting in the corner.

but thank GOD! because you like him too!

speaking of that, despite the fact that he’s socially awkward— he will not hesitate on defending you from any haters!
