and another one: would we wanna centralize it to tumblr like the olden days? i know the rp/askblog scene on tumblr definitely aint what it used to be, but ive picked up a couple of tips n tricks from the indie rp blogs that still exist on some workarounds for problems that slowly trickled in over the years (like uneditable reblogs)

i know discord rp servers have been the New Rage in askblog fandom rp hype and they ARE convenient but, personally?, one of my main motivations is i miss the interactivity with the readers, not just the fellow rpers, so i, personally, would probably do a blog and i wouldnt wanna be all alone lmfao

(also i think interactivity with the viewers/readers is a core aspect of slenderverse at least to an extent)

or if anyone has a suggestion for some other format, that's open too? idk. because like i said: the reader influence is something i, personally, wanna try and emphasize so it'd need to allow for that semi-easily

i can’t believe i have to discuss communication for the thousandth time but i have to discuss communication for the thousandth time. if a person im’s you continuously when you write together, it’s them being engaged in your dynamic. which isn’t actually a sin, it’s pretty normal if you’re a neurodivergent individual who just has hobbies and enjoyments. taking every message you get insanely personally is… ridiculous. the amount of non communication that goes on around here, and i don’t mean when a genuine issue is in question, i mean shit like taking someone’s message and applying your own feelings to it. it’s perfectly cool to ignore someone’s message, but if you never respond to them, the person often thinks you don’t want to talk to them. i’m not saying it’s true of everyone — from my own personal experience, whether a person intends it or not, i automatically feel like someone doesn’t want to engage. am I wrong? absolutely. that’s my brain being my brain in its most dysfunctional way. but it’s an innate response — if you don’t engage, the other person will inevitably assume you’re either uninterested or being irritating, and this mentality spreads outward toxically to everyone else. it’s very, very easy to make a person feel like you don’t want to talk to them at all and mixed signals are just shitty to do to a person.

being overly sensitive is a bitch. source: i’m an overly sensitive human being, but some people forget the extent of what tumblr/chat is to some of us just isn’t that serious. some people don’t agonize over the reason somebody said something, or what their content is for saying it. some people are more likely to be talkative than others, which isn’t a bad thing and should stop being treated like it. everyone comes here to rp for different reasons, whether they be involved or loose. some people privatize their space and curate it accordingly, and others are very open and public and more than willing to associate with the community at large. the issue is that it’s become more or less popular to excessively privatize one’s own space, and it means if you happen to be a very social person you’re just ‘annoying’.

is this a me thing? absolutely. i cannot pretend it’s not a very personal pet peeve of mine when enthusiasm is mistaken for being ‘pushy’. engagement and interest isn’t ‘pushy’, even if there are degrees to which it can be (a person spamming you over and over within the same hour, a person actually lovebombing you and not the internet definition where someone’s just really nice to you and you don’t Like It). can neurodivergent people get a little over the top with their interests? yeah. it’s the nature of being nd. but it’s also the reason why i see so many apologies on ooc posts ‘talking about things that don’t have to do with their blog’. there’s no social mores to which you must adhere, this is the fucking internet. it’s genuinely awful to spam and bother someone for a reply or even for attention no matter the situation, but the definition of ‘spam’ has become pretty subjective in the community. don’t harass someone over and over, but there’s a difference between genuinely harassing a human being and just showing interest.

just be clear about communication and try to be open-minded about the way you’re approached. and for the love of god, stop projecting your own thoughts and feelings onto the people you interact with. or, to be more specific, don’t. no one can read your thoughts and you can’t read anyone else’s. it’s a perpetual cycle of making a lot of something out of a whole lot of nothing.

about jun!

born and raised in a well to do family. his dad's a prosecutor and his mum is a retired high fashion model, who does a lot of consulting work nowadays

he didnt have that much of an interest in being an idol at first but would get scouted from time to time because of his face

at 13 he finally decided to join an entertainment company and discovered how much he enjoyed performing. he was never particularly talented though, and the company would remind him of that

in 2014, they were slated to debut a new boy group, but jun didn't make the cut. when he asked them why they simply said "you're handsome, but there's no substance. you can't sing, or dance." that destroyed him and his confidence

he spent the next few years brushing up on his skills, but he still suffers a lot with his confidence

in 2019, he got signed in ydh entertainment. again, they told him that he was a good face, but jun felt like he still lacked substance

debuted in 2022 after working his ass off. he's honestly a pretty decent singer, and good performer all things considered, but his confidence is pretty low and he doesn't feel comfortable covering a song solo

the company began pushing him into more 'acting' roles, and jun took an interest in that as well

he's now dreaming to become an idol-actor, but is restricted by his company when it comes to the roles he can take and that frustrates him

his personality!

junyoung has always been known as an approachable guy, with a friendly personality. he’s always had a boy-next-door vibe that made him seem easy-going.

he likes to smile a lot, and laughs easily around people.

easy to get along with, and seems a lot like the 'perfect boyfriend'-dol

in truth, junyoung easily worries a lot but prefers to keep his worries to himself. he has low self-esteem, and confidence – which has only gotten worse since being kicked out from his first company, and the comments that he gets for being ‘untalented’.

( tw: anxiety ) junyoung has an anxiety disorder and requires a prescription. this is something that he doesn’t share with anybody (unless he considers you extremely, extremely close). he has a tendency to pick at his nails and cuticles. ( tw: end )

after debuting, he’s grown more and more frustrated with the lack of freedom his company has given him, but he sticks closely to the image that they’ve set for him. 

most of his moves career-wise are calculated, and jun has set his sights to move up further in the industry (eg he will up the fanservice by 100000x. make use of weverse. play up the parasocial relationship. the ships. anything to climb that ladder.)

Due to the experience i have with writing, when i am in charge of writing starters i tend to break not just the basic character limit in discord but also the nitro character limit. No way do i expect you to mimic that length!! It is a starter which (in my mind) means length isn't 110% needed to be matched! When it does come to replies though, I don't have any sort of set expectations. As long as i see you replying with effort, I don't mind!! I always try my bestest to mimic my partner's reply length and style! Triggers n such ; I don't have many? I mean.. I do, but its something I can often work through if it's relating to the plot. I am a victim of SA so like I do my best to avoid that so I don't do dubcon, noncon, ect. and stalking puts me off too considering I have history of that too. Again, I don't know if these are truly triggers if I can work through them if it's plot-related or completely goes with the story we have. Things off the table though are incest, stepcest, skat/piss kink, weird ass age gaps (15+ yrs), & things that fall under those umbrellas. What do I work with? Well, I mostly enjoy focusing on OC x CC! Obviously there can be CC x CC but just not as the main focus. Since I'm interested in OC x CC, I would love to double up! A I scratch your back, you scratch my back type exchange! I also do NSFW stuff but I'd rather the plot mostly be focused on a plot rather than anything NSFW related! But the option is there!
