(Basic context is that AU of Duel Desinties where the phantom impersonates Phoenix to get him found guilty of Clay's murder, I talk more under the cut abt it jkhlj)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
-Basically meant to be a parallel to turnabout trump, cause if you can have ONE boss get found guilty of murder, why not a second one?
-OK basically: everything in DD happens normally until like- a day before clays murder, Phoenix gets yoinked by the phantom somehow (he is still alive, just being held captive), Phantom is still Fulbright, but they've decided to be silly goofy (target Phoenix and get him found guilty of murder, escape police custody and then murder phoenix and make it seem like Phoenix accidentally died while on the run, thats why they didn't kill phoenix right away unlike the real Fulbright) there is an imposter amo-
-I dont have the logistics as to how this affects solving Metis's murder, and how it effects what evidence is used n whatnot and turnabout for tomorrow as a whole, so im just going nuts HGJKHLJ
-Originally I was actually imagining this taking place during turnabout for tomorrow and I wanted that case to be apollo v klavier instead of phoenix and edgeworth and thats why klav is in here instead of Simon (I decided that Simon got badly injured and couldn't stand in court for the retrial, so klavier was asked to step in)
-The courtroom bombing still happens the same way it does normally, but Apollo decides to take up the case again instead of taking a leave, instead of like, you know, healing from the traumatic event that just happened, turnabout countdown still happens as well
-Apollo and Athena do not find out about the phantom's existence until well after this trial, so they have no idea that Phoenix could've possibly been replaced, though simon, after hearing about the trial, might be suspicious about whether or not that was the real Phoenix
-The Phantom had been not only keeping an eye on Simon for a while, but was also stalking Phoenix and Edgeworth after they both started looking into UR-1, so they were able to impersonate phoenix so well that not even his own daughter thought that anything was up (though while Trucy did find him a *little* bit off, but she figured that it might've been the bombing that caused him to act ever so slightly weird, so she didn't pay much mind to it until she heard about his confession in court and realized it might've been because he possibly, ya know, killed someone)
-it's pretty much just switching Athena being framed for murder with Phoenix, and instead of the trial ending on a cliffhanger, it continues on (probably with Klavier insisting on it) ending with soloman being found innocent and Phoenix being declared guilty
-There's a couple days inbetween the end of the cosmic turnabout and the start of turnabout for tomorrow, so Athena, Apollo and Trucy all get a little bit to process the fact that "oh god my boss/my dad killed someone" (simons execution date is pushed back a bit in this au) and they probably get to talk with Klavier and eventually a lil bit with Simon after he gets out
-Im not sure how it all winds down in turnabout for tomorrow (Phoenix escaping and being at large is basically the perfect cover for the phantom to resume being fulbright for that trial) but they do eventually realize that the phoenix who confessed wasn't the real one and now there's a search on going to find out where the real one is being held captive, hes fineeee just ready to take a week long nap and a good vacation (along with every other waa member)
-I dont have anything else to add on rn but if you want to add something or just throw in a scenario feel free to!! this idea has been bouncing around my head for like a month now and Im very happy to finally show yall it

New day, new discussion with a Snater who twists the canon to justify bullying Snape
The other day I commented on a Tiktok video listing James' good deeds (with fanon additions, as usual) to say that James was a good person and didn't deserve to die, I wrote this comment
Tumblr media
Obviously I expected someone to reply, but some real gems came out xD
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So follow the reasoning, because it's funny.
First let's discuss whether James has matured or not, that's fine, it's a matter of interpretation from the little we know from the canon but then we get to the point, Snape was a special case, he responded to James' attacks after seven years of bullying.
So according to this person if a victim of bullying responds then he is no longer a victim. Clear, right? If someone attacks you you just have to suffer and maybe even in silence. Realizing that the thing doesn't hold up he goes to the classic "But it wasn't bullying, they were rivals" But when I say that 2 vs 1 is not equal and cannot be rivalry then he changes again by putting in the field guess what?
ASSUMPTIONS
Death Eaters SA Mary. False, we don't know what Mulciber TRIED to do to Mary. In the fandom this Headcanon is very popular but it is indeed a Headcanon. But then what does what Mulciber tried to do have to do with the fact that Snape was bullied? Was James responding to something Mulciber tried to do by taking it out on Snape who had done nothing? This doesn't make any sense at all
And then of course we only see Snape's point of view so it could be different, maybe he wasn't the victim. Really? The Snaters don't know the canon. Memories are OBJECTIVE, we see the facts as they happened, the thoughts and feelings are Harry's watching.
Then strangely he didn't bring up the point "Snape cursed Muggle-borns" I hope this person has come to his senses and realized he said something non-canonical
Ma preparati perchè ora ridiamo:
Tumblr media
"It wasn't always 2 vs 1" most of the time Snape was with Death Eaters gang.
WHERE? But when? This is another assumption, if Snape had been with others who defended him then James and Sirius would not have attacked him (because they are cowards)
But at least he admitted that Snape was the victim in this episode. So why continue, he admitted it, stop, and instead in order to blame the victim he puts forward other ASSUMPTIONS, Snape created the Sectumpsempra, so what? To curse James? We don't know why he created it (which I then wrote to him) But hey Sirius admitted that they were idiots BUT they bullied Snape (Another admission, they BULLIED SNAPE) because he was a racist. But this is also false
Tumblr media
So it's never said that James never attacked Mulciber and others, so it could have happened? But of course, it's never said that Hermione isn't actually The Rock with a wig so she could be. But do they really do that?? Plus they wouldn't have attacked Malfoy because he was older? So they only picked on the weakest, just like real bullies
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
James and Sirius as the twins? Well on this point I have a lot to say, I know I've been saying it for months but I'll soon publish a chapter dedicated to this. Let's say that if the Twins had been Slytherins everyone would have called them bullies, so this similarity does not go in favor of the Snaters. But here comes a pearl
"Snape was attacking muggleborns"
Snape attacked muggle-borns? Dude, have you ever read the books? When, for Morgana's sake, would this have happened?
Tumblr media
Let's see what he'll answer.
(and then he also brought up the fact that Snape was to blame for the attack on the Potters and that he only asked for mercy for Lily, but now this point is so stupid that I have an automatic answer)

I kind of think that people focus a little too much on the Lasat Merc that Kallus mentioned in the Honorable Ones. I get it, because it's an interesting scene that Kallus describes but I think focusing on the mercenary himself is, like, not the point. I don't know whether he worked for Saw long term and was a partisan himself, or if he was just a hired gun because Saw needed some extra muscle, but him staying hidden and kind of shrouded in mystery is just so much better for Kallus.
First of all, focusing on the merc makes what happened to Kallus kind of fall to the wayside, it takes the focus off of him almost entirely. I do think that it makes sense from Kallus' pov because I think he fixates on the mercenary after the fact, maybe as a way to cope, but there was a lot more going on with him specifically.
He was the only survivor, for one. No matter what side someone was on, surviving that situation is traumatizing. Especially with the calculated way Kallus described it (we also have to remember that he may be something of an unreliable narrator here, he's traumatized and biased). I remember watching The Pianist which was, unfortunately, a great movie (I say unfortunately because it's a Roman Polanski film, and I had no idea about the allegations at the time) (I watched it for class and wrote a paper about it, WWII movie) but there's a scene in it where there are people who are laid on the ground face down and shot in the back of the head one-by-one, except the last one because the soldiers clip runs out. So he takes the time, standing above this guy, to reload his gun, then shoots. Even just as a film scene that shit stuck with me. You can't tell me that living through that and not knowing whether or not the gun was going to turn on you wouldn't be the reason you have nightmares for the rest of your life. You can debate about motivations and the partisans all you want, but it doesn't change the fact that living through that means you're never sleeping through the night again.
Kallus also says that he couldn't move. I don't know if he was pinned down, or if he was in shock, but I always took it to mean some kind of injury. Something like an incomplete paralysis, nerve damage to his spine, that causes temporary paralysis. Long recovery time, surgeries, physical and/or occupational therapy, etc.
He would've been a very young boy, trying to do good (even if he was misguided), injured, unable to move, watching all the boys his age die one-by-one, waiting for his turn, being the only survivor, the medical trauma, the physical pain - that mercenary doesn't need to be evil to make this properly traumatizing for Kallus. He could be a completely neutral actor.
Second of all, Kallus' anger at the mercenary is exaggerated. He's angry at himself. A lot of people I think ask the question of "how did Kallus stay with the Empire after what happened on Lasan?" Honestly, I think the answer is denial. There's no way to deny what happened on Lasan, but there is a way to bury your head in the sand. Not ask questions, assume that there was some grand plan you're just unaware of and that if you knew all the details then everything would make sense, put more trust in the people you definitely shouldn't be trusting, and find someone else to blame. Basically, double, even triple, down, because if you don't then everything you've done is for nothing. He takes his anger out on Zeb and clings to this narrative about this mercenary to try and throw together some explanation he can get behind mentally. Also keep in mind that Lasan happened like, two years or so before the beginning of the show. So as little time as Zeb has had to deal with what happened to his home, Kallus also has had two years of mental spiraling to try and tie himself into knots to justify what happened, and he only seemed to get crueler and angrier in that time frame (that random stormtrooper he kicked to death??). It wasn't until he was able to talk to someone about what happened (and I don't imagine talk therapy is encouraged in the Empire) that he was able to come back around. Kallus only lasted three, maybe three and a half years after Lasan before he finally couldn't take it and left (and, maybe it's just me, but I don't really count his time under Vader. You do what Vader says in order to survive)(but that could completely be my perspective). But all the while, every time he fought Zeb, he was fighting that mercenary and himself.
The mercenary left him alive because 1) he just flat out didn't see him, 2) Kallus was so badly injured he thought Kallus was dead, 3) Kallus was the only one without a helmet and the mercenary saw a young boy. We never see this mercenary. I don't know if he died, or if he left the partisans after deciding he didn't like Gererra's tactics, or if he was a hired gun whose job was done. Either way, I don't think Kallus should ever see him again. I don't know if I have the words to explain why (sorry if I repeat myself, but I'm trying to put words to my thoughts) but somehow Kallus' ability to let this issue go, in my mind, is directly tied to his ability to heal from the Empire. I don't necessarily think that this is a thread he needs to chase, or an issue he needs closure on. His lingering resentment is petty and small compared to Zeb's capacity to forgive, and I think he would beat himself up for still feeling angry. His ability to close the door on this is directly related to his ability to accept Zeb's forgiveness. When people talk about the mercenary, I just, I feel like, they're missing what the mercenary is for Kallus. And in real life I could understand wanting answers about something that happened to you, but in this instance, narratively, the mercenary is left unnamed for a reason. This character is a catalyst or a shadow in Kallus' story, he's not meant to be examined for his own sake, he's meant to be examined for what he means to Kallus.
Idk hopefully this makes sense I should've gone to bed a while ago, this was just something I've had on my mind for a minute. (and as always, this isn't me trying to absolve Kallus of anything he did, just thinking, trying to understand him, etc., cuz he's interesting)

I can't believe I'm getting into this silly discourse but here we go:
First of all, I'm assuming we're drawing our "Mt. Lady is a pedophile" accusations from S5 E13 (E105 out of the entire show) when she basically gives 1-A media training. In that episode, she calls Shoto up first and calls him "my dear" which isn't hitting on him per se. It's no different to someone like Midnight or even real life teachers (I have a teacher who calls us things like 'darling' and 'flower' and they're the least likely person to be a pedophile I know).
The second part she says is that if Shoto were to save her "my heart would go into overdrive" while also calling him "handsome". This is a little weirder, I will respect that fact. However, it's important to understand the context. She's playing the role of a reporter and reporters are ALWAYS going to make a big deal with heroes. So, it makes sense that she'd make such a comment as it draws attention to something the public would already be focused on, the fact that he's a handsome guy as well as a skilled hero (and we know this is important because hero rankings are affected by their popularity in the public iirc).
The last thing is that she says "So dense but cute. He's just my type." I do believe this is the part people have a problem with and that's fair, I certainly can't blame them for that because it is kind of weird. However, I see that as just a comment on Shoto's personality and looks. She doesn't actively say it nor make a move on Shoto so she's not actively hitting on him. It's a comment and while it is a weird one it's not something she follows through on via hitting on Shoto. Once again, merely a comment on his personality. Also, a decent amount of Mt. Lady's hero persona is her using her looks/sex appeal to be noticed so it makes sense that she'd take note of someone else's appearance and possibly mentally rank them on how well their looks could impact their popularity.
Either way, view it however the hell you want. Everyone is entitled to their own views and opinions, just be respectful. I really don't care if you think Mt. Lady is a pedophile or not (hypocritical because I wrote this but I just needed to get this out of my system) this is just my view on things.
(Feel free to ignore and delete this, I get it if you don't want to continue this discourse.)
Starting to really just not care about the discourse, but I'm answering this cuz your points make a lot of sense and I feel like people need to read this to get le context

Having shared my RINGS OF POWER s2 eulogy, and while assuring you all that I am also mourning the loss of one of the best things about the show, I would also like to take a moment to defend the decisions being made by the showrunners and writers here.
Before I get started, I just want to acknowledge the members of my writers' group. This post owes much to our discussions. Anyway, when it comes to Adar's death, there are three reasons why I'm not calling his death pointless, or blaming the showrunners for bad writing. The overall reason is this: Adar represents the show's efforts to treat Orcs like people. In this sense, his character was a blazing success. Look at us all, with a hopeless crush on an Orc? Success.
But let's go a bit deeper.
SIMON TOLKIEN'S EXECUTIVE MEDDLING
The fact that Simon Tolkien made an EXCELLENT call in asking the showrunners to keep Adar around for an extra season...still doesn't stop what he did from being executive meddling, or from causing tricky ramifications in the second season. Adar was a first-season antagonist, brilliantly well-written, but ultimately only intended to be a supporting character. The decision to keep him on, suddenly made him more charismatic, more mysterious, and more sympathetic. Given how he'd been set up as a warm-up baddie...season 2 suddenly turned around and made us think he was here to stay. The writers had cornered themselves: on the Tolkien Estate's behest, they had a dark horse who was about to run away with the show. I'm not going to fault them for going ahead with their original plan, because they would have had to retool subsequent seasons massively in order to fit in an Adar redemption arc, and you can't necessarily do that when the whole arc of your story is already planned.
JRR TOLKIEN'S LEGACY
All of us have written things we're not proud of. JRR Tolkien wrote a story world with something problematic hard-baked into the foundations: an entire race of beings for whom genetics determined ethics. Can you even imagine what it must have taken for him to get to the end of a long life spent in the dedicated pursuit of this story world, and to have the courage to admit that he might have been wrong? That really isn't something most authors are capable of. When Peter Jackson went to make LOTR and HOBBIT into movies, he did nothing to scrutinise this issue. His Orcs are flat: monstrous, comic, but never people.
TROP challenged that, and exercised significant skill, care, and wisdom in doing so. But they are still attempting a faithful adaptation of Tolkien's source material. We know where this story is going. Galadriel will end up in Lorien with her elf wifeguy. The Orcs will fall under Sauron's dominion and become his tools, enslaved to his will with the Ring. I did fantasise about Adar being Celeborn, and possibly some of his "children" getting to nope out of Sauron's dominion or even be turned into Elves. But we now know that was never on the table. The Orcs were always meant to fall to the Enemy. But here's the point: for the first time in the history of Tolkien works and adaptations, TROP allowed them the dignity of a fall. Going forward in the show, the Orcs won't be monstrous cannon fodder: they'll be people we knew, people we were pulling for, people whose deaths matter. They are, not a waste, but a tragedy.
TOLKIENIAN TRAGEDY
Look...there's nothing more Tolkienian than a beautiful disaster of a man who dies far too early.
And yes, I know that it's something we've seen before and wish storytellers would move away from - the Moment of Grace that never becomes anything more than a Moment. The villain who has a five minute redemption, then dies conveniently so that the heroes never have to work through the messy business of forgiveness and accountability (although I always did wonder how it would play to see a redeemed Adar, possibly Celeborn, living the rest of his life as a redeemed Uruk among people who hold an undying enmity with his children). It's happened so often that when I, Suzannah Rowntree, sit down to write a six book series where the irredeemable villain has to live and build a new and more accountable life for himself, there's startlingly little template for it, at least in Western media. We live in times that are starved for happy endings and genuine redemption arcs. I wanted so badly for Adar and his "children" to be blessed, and not cursed, by this narrative. So I get the rage. I get the grief.
But tragedy is still a valid art form. Again, all this is a function of the show successfully making the Orcs matter. And the reason the Orcs needed to matter is because they are about to be enslaved to Sauron. They were so close. They genuinely could have been good. Adar could have led them into an alliance with the Elves against their enemy - but instead, just like Celebrimbor, just like Galadriel, they are deceived by him. They turn to him out of fear that their father figure is treating them like cannon fodder, and now they have no one to advocate for them. And that's the tragedy of their situation.
We might all be a little tired of tragedy, but it's still valid, especially insofar as it never, ever forgets to treat its characters like people. Did the writers have to choose tragedy? No. Adar might have lived and undergone a redemption arc.
But the writers didn't have to give Adar a redemption arc, either. Any more than they had to so deeply humanise the Orcs and their father. It's not perfect writing, but it's not bad writing, either. Indeed, for a Tolkien adaptation trying to both honour the author's work and scrutinise his failings, in my opinion it's doing brilliantly.
And...honestly, I'm kind of happy that they left me wanting more, and better, for Adar. Because now I get to write that story myself.

The Harley Quinn show is amazing... probably.
youtube
Okay, so when I was in like middle school, I was a huge DC fan. I'm not as much anymore as I've dedicated my life to Star Wars. Now, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy are my favorite femfatile villains and have been the lesbian couple Gotham really didn't want, but the LGBTQ fans needed. Both have been abused by the men in their lives and found companionship with each other. Now let see how Lily sees it.
So Lily isn't a fan of the DC universe. Mainly, her problem stems from batman saying that she stopped caring about batman when it became something dark and edgy and used the dark knight as an example of it getting too dark, which if you're gonna blame something for a franchise for getting to dark don't use the dark knight. The batman franchise has been a dark thing way before 2008. Batman, in the 85 years he's been around, has always had a dark streak. All of the villains are crazy patients with a killer clown running around a corrupted city and the main hero becoming who he is after the death of his parents. If you want to blame something for how Batman is now. Blame the dudes in charge in 1939.
Now, Harley Quinn has been the Jokers "girlfriend" ever since her first appearance in 1992. With them being an off and on relationship. Lily says that the abuse Harley goes through with the joker is never really touched upon, which is both true and not. Everyone in comics and shows knows that Harley is in an unhealthy relationship, and all have asked why she stays. It's not that it's not touched upon. it's more of everyone knowing she's not gonna leave him, no matter what he does to her. To everyone around her, they know Harley doesn't want to leave the joker, so why bother convincing her. Like Lily said, you can't help someone who doesn't want it.
Lily starts talking about Ivy and how dispirit the fact that she's a doctor (most of the villains are doctors in their own field) she sexualized except for The Batman where she's just a teenager. Then she talks about clayface being a D list villain who's now a struggling actor (he always was). While she's talking about other characters, her straw man is constantly asking Lily what she thinks of Harley Quinn herself and spoiler alert she doesn't like Harley. What a surprise.
She claims that Harley's character is boring and is only centered around the love between her and Ivy and the abuse between her and the Joker now that might be true for the show which is pretty lame if you don't want to read her comics but what makes me mad is that Lily thinks that Harley being a stand alone villain never made sense because she has no evil goal like Ivy or the penguin but the Joker also doesn't have a goal either. A villain doesn't need to have a goal to do evil things, and Harley is no different. Harley Quinn is straight up crazy thanks to the chemical dunk and has HPD (Histrionic Personally Disorder), meaning she does things for attention. She doesn't need to have a goal in mind to cause trouble, and personally, I think the scariest villains are the ones who start shit just because they could.
Lily then goes on to say that Harley is only a villain because of the people she's dating, then brings up how Harley was the Jokers therapist but threw it away because of
"Bog standard fangirl hybristophilia"
Tumblr media
Harley was fucking manipulated by the Joker to see if he could make her fall in love with him not because she had a thing for bad boys. I have not seen the Harley Quinn show, so please tell me that's not what the writers wrote in for her backstory.
I try to watch the whole video, but her saying that a victim of manipulation and abuse did this to herself because she had Bonnie and Clyde syndrome pissed me off so much that I couldn't finish it. All I can say is that Lily really has a problem with victim characters, and we've seen it time and time again from her hating Hunter to Catra, how she's willing to end friendship to save her own mental health and completely forgetting that the person who is reaching out probably has no one else to go to. Lily has no empathy, but I didn't need to tell you that.

Honestly, I keep forgetting that tom riddle was like 11 in some of the memories because of the way dumbledore talks about him. I keep picturing him as older teenager young adult. Like bro he's not Conniving he's trying to not die
Exactly! Dumbledore never sees him as a child or an innocent or someone who can be saved (or even needs or deserves it). This is despite the fact that what he knows of 11 year old Tom's behavior is actually not nearly as disturbing and psychopathic as James Potter's behavior for example. James grew up with everything and shows clear sadistic tendencies from a young age. He obviously actively enjoys violently tormenting and assaulting other people for fun. He actually fits the 'serial killer who was a psychopath from a young age' trope better than Tom does, though that wasn't JKR's intent at all.
I think she possibly meant to do something very different with Tom's character but bungled the exectuon. I think she was going for the whole 'serial killers are psychopaths who are un-saveable and torture and kill smalls animals as children" trope but that's not what she wrote. Tom killed one rabbit. Obviously that was wrong, but it wasn't part of a pattern where he routinely small animals for sport. He also didn't kill it for fun (nor did he do it in a particularly prolonged or cruel way). He did it as retribution after an argument (and presumably since he didn't do anything to Billy Stubbs directly, this was an argument with someone he felt unable to take on). Obviously this doesn't make what he did right, but it is a VERY different context from what JKR is trying to imply (since we the readers are supposed to agree with Dumbledore's reactions to and assessments of him). We never even find out what the altercation with Billy Stubbs was about or who initiated it etc.
Aside from that, there's the cave incident where...something happened but we don't know what. It is notable that Dumbledore mentions that it would be virtually impossible to climb up to (or presumably down from) the cave without magic. Which means Tom used his powers to not only get all of them up, but also to bring himself as well as Dennis and Amy back - rather than simply leaving them to die either for fun or to cover up whatever he did to them. (Personally I think he performed magic on/in front of them but then went too far and panicked and tried to wipe their memories but did it badly due to being inexperienced and uncontrolled which is why they are odd afterwards and can't remember what happened). But yeah. We have no idea what happened there. Only that Mrs. Cole, who hates Tom and doesn't know what he is, suspects him of having done something bad. Dumbledore never bothers to get Tom's side of things.
It's also important to remember that while Tom learned to control his powers, at first his use of magic would have been random and uncontrolled. This means that some of the incidents for which he was blamed were outside his control and simply instances of his magic reacting to his emotions rather than him deciding to do something.
Given that Dumbledore hasn't read the later books where Tom Riddle becomes Voldemort and given that he knows that Tom is universally hated and feared in the orphanage for his strange powers (to the point that Tom consequently lives in mortal fear of being thrown in an asylum and seems to have had bad experiences with doctors) he can't even really reasonably be certain that Tom wasn't acting in self defense in the only way he knew how. But he simply takes Mrs. Cole at her word that Tom Riddle is no good and evil even though it makes no sense in-universe to do so since he doesn't know yet that Tom is destined to be the villain of the series.
Tom lives in a tough and dangerous world where strength rules. He has no one to look out for him. The very concept of a caring and trustworthy adult is probably alien to him. He is loathed and feared. He suffers from privation and is surrounded by want and disease and death. The only way for him to exert any power over his own life is to use the strange abilities he posses but doesn't understand and can't fully control. This is his reality. Characters in Game of Thrones live in a violent, dog eat dog world, and that influences their behavior. Similarly, Tom's environment influences his behavior. Given his circumstances his behavior (at least what we know of it), while wrong, is not that shocking or even that extreme. He is trying to survive as best he can.
Maybe all the help and guidance in the world couldn't have turned him from his dark path. But the point is, no one ever gives him that chance. Dumbledore shows immediate bias towards him - and we're supposed to think this bias is justified, but that's not supported by what's actually in the text.

Do you have any thoughts or analysis on necrobutcher?
I'm not fond of Jørn nor Jan (Jan is worse in my opinion), but I find it interesting how his friendship with Øystein gradually deteriorated.
I find it easier to part Mayhem in two sides: the ones who cared and were 'in it for real' (Øystein and Pelle) and the ones who were there just to 'pass the time', so to speak.
Musically speaking, he doesn't stand out with anything, he's rather a typical example of a 'basic bassist' and his lyrics were at best mediocre at best.
Now, returning to his personality, he seems rather lazy and disinterested to contribute with anything for the band, I mean, he wrote the lyrics in the beginning but other than that I feel like the hard work of maintaining the band fell on Øystein. This is not too surprising because, after all, Øystein was the leader, and his word was more important than Jørn's at that time. Also Jørn's trivial interests in partying and doing drugs/ smoking weed with Jan inevitably brought them closer to one another.
I don't blame Øystein for losing patience with him because it seems like he drastically changed his priorities after his girlfriend got pregnant (this is understandable though), but basically, it looks like he abandoned the band completely. I'm not here to judge his life's decisions and I won't do it, but Øystein seemed reasonable enough to understand Jørn's struggle, so what I believe that drove them apart was Jørn's lack of motivation to keep playing and coming to rehearsals when the band was in a financial impasse.
He states that he tried to help Pelle with his self-harm behaviour by giving him duller knives that wouldn't do much damage. He also helped Pelle get unemployment benefits from the Norwegian state if I remember things clearly. If he did so, this is the only good thing that I can tell about Jørn (even if by a 'good thing' I refer to something that it's common sense and expected to do for a friend in need, not such an act of charity that he kinda seems to portray, but I digress).
I find it a bit far-fetched that he states how 'he was like Pelle's best friend' or 'Pelle was like a little brother' to him because it is clear that they weren't that close. Pelle talked far more often about Øystein in his letters than he did about Jørn (if he even talked about him at all). But this statement is very expected for someone who lived after half of the band died tragically and is able to speak his own truth, a truth that cannot be verified in any way, shape or form.
What pisses me off is his statement about 'wanting to kill Øystein too' and 'being on his way to do it, but damn, Vikernes did it first'. This is obviously a cheap try to gain attention, shift the story focus on him, put him in a somehow heroic light, and milk the band's history for money even more. I don't believe he was in any way after Øystein. Øystein was probably a long-forgotten name in his mind at that time, but if a great opportunity to remain relevant in the scene occurs, Jørn will be more than ready to come up with such shock-value statements.
I don't like how he says that 'Dead (refferd to his stage name for the shock-value again) liked to fuck with people'. It's just another example of Jørn trying to milk Pelle's story.
'A couple of times I felt like cutting myself too', he says in an interview very firmly, after that he pauses, sighs and tries to come up with a narrative that supports his declaration. It's very obvious that he is not true. Naturally, I wouldn't comment on this particular subject, but the fact that he stated so many shocking facts about him and the band (now that the band is famous, of course) makes me think that most of what he says is said to sell. (on his way to kill Øystein, on his way to harm himself, etc, etc. )
It's hard for me to explain body language especially because my English is bad, but the way he talks and presents himself, he seems chronically tired and disinterested until the opportunity for a few minutes of fame occurs.
The way he talks about 'Dead' being a character who wanted to freak people out is not how one would refers to their friend, but to an soulless icon or a stranger.
This is embarrassingly long now, but this is my take on Jørn. Not the worst name in the story, not the best either.

As much as I have Taranza and Susie being best friends, I don't have them mourning their losses the same way. In fact, in my interpretation, they handle grief differently despite their friendship.
While Taranza is more straightforward about mourning Sectonia, how Susie handles her father's death is a lot more complicated.
Susie does take Haltmann's death hard early on, but in general she doesn't outwardly grieve as much as Taranza does. She doesn't open up to as many people as he does, and keeps it to herself more by comparison. She also has an easier time letting go and accepting her loss than he does.
There's something to be said about how Taranza literally grew up with Joronia/Sectonia, and had her in his life up until she was warped by the mirror he gave her. I headcanon that they were childhood friends, and they were close up until the mirror accident. Taranza knows exactly what led to Sectonia's spiral, he understands that she was warped beyond her control, and that it was a grave mistake on his behalf for accidentally corrupting her with that mirror.
On the other hand, Susie really only truly had her dad when she was a child. She was separated from him for a long time after the Another Dimension accident, and then she comes back to what's effectively a shell of her dad's former self as he forgot about her by that point. She doesn't know how he became that way, because she wasn't there to witness how Star Dream erased his memories of her.
She has no idea that he was trying to make Star Dream get her back. For all she knows, he could've just willingly moved on from her, and that's enough to make her wonder if it was intentional for him to forget about her. And it's led to her resenting him.
Susie has very complicated feelings about her dad in my headcanons. The thing is, she does care about him, but she also really resents him because she was offended by him forgetting about her, and she feels a strong sense of disillusionment with him in general. She certainly doesn't love him as much as Taranza loves Sectonia, and honestly I don't blame her. I think it's understandable, considering everything that happened between her and Haltmann.
This isn't to say she doesn't mourn Haltmann at all. She absolutely does mourn him, especially early on. As much as she resents him, she really did want him back, and she really wanted to find out what led to his memories being erased. That's why she aggressively stole Star Dream's controller from him in an effort to force him to answer about what happened. She really didn't mean to get him killed, and it did in fact mess her up that she accidentally caused his death.
Kirby introduced Taranza and Susie to each other shortly after Planet Robobot when Susie was struggling with Haltmann's death. And quite frankly, that was the perfect timing for them to bond. That was a clever move on Kirby's behalf. He noticed many similarities between Taranza and Susie, and thought they could be friends because of that. He succeeded at making it happen, especially with the timing of when he did it.
Susie moves on from Haltmann's death quicker than Taranza moves on from Sectonia's death. But despite that, Susie still keeps Taranza around as one of her closest friends after how nice he's been to her. He's a big reason why she's been able to let go of her dad.
I have Susie and Francisca bonding over daddy issues, considering how I recently wrote about how I imagine Francisca (as well as Flamberge) having complicated feelings about Hyness after what happened during Star Allies. I also have Taranza and Zan Partizanne forming a close friendship because they overlap quite a bit in terms of how they feel about Sectonia and Hyness respectively.
Despite this, however, Taranza and Susie stay as each other's closest friends because of the timing that Kirby introduced them to each other. Although Zan is Taranza's second closest friend, and Francisca is Susie's second closest friend.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk on me exploring parallels that I envision between all these characters.

I wrote a post about Davos and Aeron's Hogwarts houses, and I think I still have a few things to say about these two, so here's my daily dose of Davron obsession. First about Aeron.
Aeron is a Hufflepuff and I think he would be very happy and proud of that. I know people have an image that Hufflepuff is the worst of the houses but that's purely the fault of that crazy JK Rowling who didn't bother to develop the characters of each house better besides the protagonists. Hufflepuff is about effort, dedication and loyalty and I feel like those are some of the pillars that make up Aeron. Aeron is not someone who is super talented, he is not someone who stands out right away or who people put a lot of faith in. When he appears (during the three measly minutes of the episode, seriously I hate this damn show-), his friends even call him "the worst knight among us" and he just laughs with them. He knows how people see him, he is fully aware that he is not the best or strongest among his cousins in Stone Hedge, but he seeks to improve upon each failure.
And that is what he does. He is someone who strives and dedicates himself to the maximum, he knows what he wants and will do whatever it takes to get it. He also values courage, but I think that hard work and persistence are much stronger in him than the fearlessness and boldness of the Gryffindor.
He can also demand a lot from himself at times, especially when his insecurity gets the better of him. He wants to be good, he wants to be a good nephew, a good knight, someone who will honor his house. For a while, this came from a desire for glory and recognition (due to all the doubts people had about him) but, in the future, he realizes that he doesn't need that. His relatives love him for who he is and he trusts his ability and effort enough that he no longer needs to seek their approval. He fights for loyalty and for the love of his house.
Another point, and one that is explored a lot in fanfics (In fact, "Kiss a Man or Slit His Throat" addresses this very well and I LOVE IT) is Aeron's relationship with religion. We know that the Brackens follow the Faith of the Seven and I personally agree with many authors who show Aeron as someone devout and who deals with a lot of religious guilt. I feel like he's someone who's very attached to a sense of duty and right and wrong, which is something that's very present in Hufflepuffs as well (his element is earth, stable and firm in his judgments). I think he would agree with Alicent's phrase "Where's the duty? Where's the sacrifice?" because for him it's much more about what he should do or what's "right" and much less about what he wants. I think his relationship with Davos becomes so interesting because the two are very opposite in that regard.
I think I had more to say but that's enough for today. I was going to talk a little bit about Davos and his relationship with Gryffindor but this poster would be huge so I'll leave it for another time. These are some thoughts from the middle of the night because these two haven't left my head since they appeared in that episode, (someone needs to put Kieran and Ryan together more often, seriously, so much chemistry). Also, many of my headcanons came from @herofumi fanfics on AO3 so they are to blame for all of this (that's a lie, I'm just dying for the next update). Thanks for coming to my podcast.

Say Yes (2) | pjm + jjk
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
‹ previous | next › » warning(s) › stalking, jikook missing you hours, nothing really happens » pairing(s) › jungkook x reader x jimin | student(s) x professor » word(s) › 1.1k+ » note(s) › yes. this is a repost from @/googikoo <3. also, I have to re-write the first chapter because it got lost in the void. so for now... just bare with me until I remember what the hell I wrote lol.
Tumblr media
[01:24pm] "I miss her..." Jungkook sighs dreamily. It's their free period and what better way to spend it than watching you go about your day? You have watched them sit at your desk to grade papers, talk with other students, or just stroll around campus.
Right now, they're watching you walk down the entrance hall with one of their other professors. Professor Kim Namjoon. They know you're most likely discussing lesson plans but they can't help but feel a pang of envy when they see you with someone that isn't them.
"She's avoiding us."
Jimin stares at you until you make eye contact. Your chest rises slightly before falling, and they know you haven't forgotten what happened the last time you three were in a room together.
"She's just being shy, Hyung..." Jungkook counters but Jimin simply hums at the younger's naivety. It's cute.
You swiftly bow to excuse yourself when one of your students, Yeonjun, stops you from leaving. Jimin can see your smile is strained. He knows you know he's watching you. You leave without looking back. Jimin's gaze follows you until you are out of sight. You take a few deep breaths to regain your composure.
"Fucking Teacher's Pet..." Jimin rolls his eyes but he can't help the irritation that's bubbling up inside of him. And as you walk away with Yeonjun following close behind, it takes everything in Jimin to look away. He takes deep, sharp breaths to push that ugly green monster down.
Though, the more Jimin thinks about it, the more he notices a pattern.
Every time they see you, you're with a student or teacher. At this point, they know you're doing it intentionally. They can't blame you. In light of what happened last time, you can never be too careful. Being alone with them is something you tried to avoid. Even inside your classroom. They know this. They love watching you struggle to remain professional in their presence while their seated at their desk.
Watching.
Waiting.
You can sense the tension rising with every passing day. They know you wouldn't go to the dean for the simple fact, you don't want any of this getting out. You don't want to lose our job either.
Even though it would make it much easier for them.
"How do we get her to see us again?"
"We have to wait."
Jungkook frowns at his words. He doesn't want to wait. If he could, he would whisk you away from everything and everyone. Keep you locked away, not only for his benefit but for your safety. Jungkook knows he can't rush things. He knows he needs to give you time and space to come to terms with the situation.
But... It's hard to do that with you flaunting your curves all over campus.
They also know they can't give you too much space or you'll think they've given up on you. Which is far from the case.
Jimin hearts plummets to the floor when he realizes who you're with now. His nose twitching with irritation.
"She's with him. Again."
Jimin's expression shifted from one of contentment to one of resentment when he noticed you speaking with Professor Kim Seokjin, your spouse. His grumbling betrayed his growing frustration, his inability to tear his gaze away from the couple whose joy seemed to be exclusive.
He sighed and glances away, forlorn as he pulls out his phone to type out a message to send you.
[01:46pm] Jimin: Meet us in your office, love.
Jimin adds the pet name for shits and giggles, knowing how you feel about them when Seokjin says them to you. They watch you when you make eye contact with Jimin as he smirks. He sees you shutter before frowning at your watch.
"Hyung..." Jungkook whines, catching Jimin's attention. He can't lie, he misses you too. He can't tell you how many times he replayed that video for his viewing pleasure. He's been content with it but he'll want the real thing very soon.
You lean up to kiss your husband's cheek. Jungkook and Jimin faces twist in disgust when you mouthed the words 'I love you' to him.
Pretty soon, you'll be theirs and you’ll be saying that to them. They’ll make sure of it.
"C'mon." Jimin tugs on Jungkook's jacket as he watches you walk back toward your office. You're picking your nails. They know you're nervous.
"Where are we going, hyung?"
"To her office."

Hi Hello it’s moi <3
1. If Leo/Donnie lost their twin (like Draxum did) (and didn’t have April growing up) would they have followed a similar path as Draxum? Did Draxum recognize anything faintly alike in the twins that he and his sister shared/did/had as well, or does that go too hard against his son-fantasies?
2. What was your favorite scene in Third from the Son?
1. At this point in the story, if Leo were to meet Gale right now, on the street (highly unlikely but if he were to) would he try to kidnap him? Or would he follow through with his current way and only talk to/actively avoid Gale? - Leo did nearly get him killed, I do imagine Gale does hate him deeply. But at the same time, I didn‘t get the feeling that Gale harbors any revenge fantasies/a particular rage for Leo rn… probably mostly because he has other problems rn
stay safe!! Thank you for the bird pics, I wrote an answer but it didn’t get past the drafts. Pls give angel strichies from me! (Also yay, the bird is playing sims 4 lesbians, a win for diversity)
Angel was on my boobs getting pet when I read this lol. Then he went over to beep at my mom while she was reading a book. She thought he wanted to read with her. (he actually wanted her chocolate kisses, which he did not get because he is a bird)
1-If they had lost their twin really young, probably not. It would have still colored a lot of their development and stayed with them for the rest of their lives, but unless it was particularly violent or something (like one twin witnessing the other getting beaten to death by a mob of racist humans) I don't see it shaping their worldview too much.
If it happened now, I don't think they'd strictly go genocidal-but they'd wrap a lot of themselves into destroying whatever it was that killed their twin. If Draxum had killed Donnie after he refused to join him and then started his army, Leo would lose himself in taking Draxum down. By the end of it he wouldn't be recognizable anymore. He wouldn't blame all Yokai, but he'd definitely do some morally fucked-up shit to objectively innocent people in his quest to destroy Draxum. I feel like that happened to some extent in the bad future after Donnie and Raph were killed by the Krang.
1.5-Draxum really hasn't spent enough time with Leo to form an opinion on that. The only thing he's really noticed is that the twins really look alike. That's no surprise, of course, they're biologically half-brothers and their human DNA is all carbon copies of each other's, they're not clones in the sense that they're perfect replicas of their DNA donor but they do all share the exact same grab bag of traits when it came to selecting their features. If anything, it's surprising that he got as much visual variance as he did. But he has noticed that Leo and Donnie look more like each other than they do Raph or Mikey, or Mikey to Raph. Just in terms of body type and facial features, they're the ones who look the most like Lou Jitsu.
And Draxum has a-weird relationship with his image of Lou Jitsu. He does a lot of compartmentalizing, for one, he knows that Splinter and Lou Jitsu are the same person but they are very separated in his mind. He likes to think of Galois as his and Lou Jitsu's son and the other boys as Splinter's children. He knows this doesn't make sense. But he spent thirteen years assuming that Lou Jitsu and the turtles died shortly after escaping his lab, and when he found out the turtles were still alive he assumed that Lou must have died of his injuries and a human or Yokai had found and adopted them. The groundwork was already there, so it wasn't necessarily too much mental gymnastics to just go on thinking of the person who raised the turtles as a completely unrelated interloper into his family.
All this to say, Draxum has a weird way of dealing with the fact that his beloved son is also the child of the person he loathes most in the world and is completely in love with at the same time. He hadn't decided exactly what the cover story he would tell Galois would be, but before Gale said that he knew Splinter was Lou Jitsu he was leaning more towards telling him that Lou Jitsu was the corpse he took Gale's human DNA from and that the rat was just some loser pretending to be him. So it's very uncomfortable, with Gale looking like Lou Jitsu and also knowing that Lou Jitsu is the rat, meanwhile Leo is here looking for all the world like Gale's long-lost twin brother. (part of his guilt over hurting Leo might actually be the fact that Leo looks so much like his son, so it's easier to visualize Gale in his place-he does genuinely feel bad for other reasons, but that could be one)
Thankfully Donnie and Raph were never super close, so other than their combined 'fuck it, we ball' attitude-which Draxum hasn't seen much of from Raph because he's still trying to be a polite young man-there hasn't been many similarities to raise Gale's suspicions or bother Draxum.
2-Despite not giving myself a ton of time to work on them, I think the last two chapters came out pretty well. The reverse-kidnapping attempt from Gale's POV, the chapter where everyone finds out about the Mikey-Galois library trips, and Draxum and Leo's fight on the roof are also ones I really like how they turned out. And a little understated, the chapter where Draxum has to take care of a sick Galois was something I really wanted to show despite really not being important to the plot.
3-I'd say at this particular moment, he'd either pretend not to see him or would try to ask about Raph and make sure he's okay. He's accepted that the reverse-kidnapping attempts did more harm than good and are not going to work, and he can't go with his back-up plan of surrendering himself to Draxum and leave his dad with just Mikey. He's hoping Raph has his own plan, and Leo's meddling could only work against him.
But that's also right now. That answer might change if Draxum was winning or losing the war to a great extent. The former because "dude so many people are dead because I let that sheep use my brother," the latter because anyone in Draxum's party when he loses is going to lose their head in a very literal manner. He might trust Raph, but if it looks like they're going to be executed for Draxum's bullshit he is definitely going to intervene.
I would also like you to know that Angel is gay and loves men. Whenever our landlord is over Angel goes wild over him. (landlords also have a preteen daughter who loves Angel, but of course he could care less about her) He's still not quite sure about my sister's boyfriend but I think he'll soon want to sit exclusively on boyfriend's shoulder when he's over. We're not entirely sure if his mate was female, she whistled like a boy and they never did the dirty bird, so possibly they were just gay birds. This terrorist is a walking diversity win.

undertale yellow spoilers!
spoilers for the end of undertale yellow's no mercy route, neutral route, and major parts of pacifist. please do not read if you do not wish to be spoiled. you have been warned.
i apologize for any possible inaccuracies. i tried to be as accurate as possible by rewatching cutscenes, but there's always a chance i got things wrong. it also might be a bit rambly because i wrote them as messages. still, i have a lot of thoughts on this decision undertale yellow made, which i'd like to believe i backed with solid evidence. and in the end, it is only my opinion. i'd just like to have my point of view seen.
so, in regards to martlet and undertale yellow's no mercy route:
i think martlet is the perfect choice as no mercy's last stand, actually.
in undertale, it's sans, and yeah, he shows that he's menacing no matter what route you're on, but for the most part he comes off as a goofy slacker with some mysteries.
it's the fact that the player drives him to the state where he has to do something, because they're on a killing spree with nobody spared, literally. and he reveals that he's actually been working hard on all the time anomaly shenanigans behind the scenes that make sans such a good character to be the last defense between the player and asgore (until flowey kills him, and then the player kills flowey, and then chara kills the player...)
with undertale yellow, martlet is a very optimistic and genuine person. she's a bit of an airhead, but she still tries her best as a member of the royal guard. all the other major bosses fight clover in pacifist for reasons such as mistaking clover for the blue soul believing to be tracked down by them and defending themselves (dalv), blaming clover for their ruined relationships and believing that bringing in their soul themselves will repair their reputation (starlo), and of course, requiring clover's soul in a last-ditch effort to save their daughter from being at death's door (ceroba).
martlet is literally going by protocol. she's following the rules to the letter, and gets confused when clover refuses to attack, not even doing so herself before she gets to the part where she's allowed to. and the part where clover insults her behavior as a royal guard is where she falters and decides to spare clover, because it's true. her best isn't enough for them. the royal guard is under asgore's rule to take human's souls for monsterkind, but that isn't enough for her to finish the job.
this is where you keep in mind martlet and chujin's conversation that clover sees in the no mercy route. her mentor, that she admired and was close to, is extremely cautious of humans due to the incident with the blue soul. but even after knowing the damage they can cause, she has hope that not all of them are bad, as she'll say in no mercy herself.
so that's why in no mercy, when clover is delivering their twisted sense of justice and killing every monster they can, she knows she has to stop them. in the first encounter, after she realizes clover is the culprit, she tosses the guide book and puts everything she's got into the fight. but that, just as well, isn't enough. she has to retreat because they're too powerful, even though clover could continue their rampage. but still, after almost dying to them, she tries to convince them to end the violence because she wants to believe that they have an ounce of sympathy for their victims.
if no mercy is aborted, when clover meets her on the roof, she throws away the determination serum she picked up from the lab just like in regular neutral. because she sees that, at least in one instance, they didn't choose murder. and that's good enough for her. that's all it takes, even if flowey goes in for the kill and martlet blames clover. she only goes so far to do so in her dying moments, and because flowey purposefully hid in the shadows, so how would she know it wasn't them?
when no mercy is fully initiated, she doesn't even instigate the combat; clover does. they're so trigger-happy that they waste no time. and at that point she has to use the last weapon monsterkind has to prevent clover from reaching asgore. she waited until the last moment, hoping clover would change their mind. but when there's no hope for them, she harnesses that determination to become the most powerful monster in the underground, the zenith of monsterkind. she'll wield the determination to deliver justice unto clover.
even if it kills her.

•• <<────≪•◦⚜◦•≫────>> ••
Cherri bomb slightly gawked, holding firmly her drink.
"Wait- Halloween actually existed during your time???" Cherri bomb asked to Vagatha as the two women sat on the bar, bewildered. Vagatha raised an eyebrow at her question, scoffing slightly at such obvious question, her permanent smile wavering slightly.
"We actually didn't called it "Halloween", especially when people would go crazy over the smallest new things and would scream witchcraft and heresy at the top of their lungs. It was either labelled as "Samhain" or just "pagan festivities" in general." The captain explained before adding quickly. "But yes Halloween actually existed during my time of living on Earth."
"Technically Halloween has already existed many centuries ago, if I'm not wrong." Pentious piped in, cleaning up the bar and the remaining shots that weren't being used. Cherri turned her head to look at the barman, raising an eyebrow, even more surprised. "Wait really??"
"Actually it was even already present after Charlie's and Sera's fall!" Luce's voice butted in as he was holding Keekee's food bowl in which the one eyed cat kept demanding her food, meowing loudly and scratching her papa's pants. The hotel owner couldn't help but chuckles a bit at the cat's antics as his tail picked up the small female, earning a startled meow from her, however she quickly relaxed upon recognizing the pattern, her own tail swishing in impatience.
Luce then continued, using magic to pour down kibbles in the bowl. "Sera was not really fond on the holiday itself, since it wasn't supposed to be a religious holiday in the first place but more like an esoteric one, despite her being officially recognized as a fallen let's say. Still, it was those times where she would actually let me go outside of the temple since it was dedicated to other beliefs so I was freer than other days and holidays primarily." The prince said the last part with an almost nostalgic tone, laughing slightly.
Vagatha raised an eyebrow at him but didn't added a remark as Cherri rolled her eye, her tone sarcastic.
"Wow. Sera must be really fun at parties."
Luce winced at the words.
"She was not actually that much of a killjoy. It's Just- Halloween was not her thing."
"I'm even surprised this kind of holiday is something Vagatha is into too if I have to be honest. You know, being the whole angel thing and stuff." Alastor added, looking up from his book. Said Vagatha hummed, shrugging her shoulders while her finger traced the shot on her place. "I cannot really blame you, dear. After all, we were taught above that Halloween was a demonic and antichrist festivity that needed to be erased at all costs."
The atmosphere in the hotel's lobby suddenly became thick before Vagatha laughed out loud, the rest of the hotel's residents, except Kitty who was who know where, looking at each other with concern.
"Oh but us exorcists weren't even supposed to exist in Heaven in the first place! Why should we even follow this doctrine even though we already purge those antichrists?? Not celebrating their festivities was something wimpy compared to what we do to them! Pff what an idiocy."
No one didn't really seemed to follow her own jovial and jokey tone as Luce coughed up, trying to shake off the awkward moment that occurred.
"Uhm- anyway- why the sudden question though? Halloween is barely a week later." The hotel's owner asked.
Cherri made a sound with her mouth, waving her hands around. "Well we are in the season of it! We're supposed to be in Fall if we refers to Earth's weather." She then added, smiling mischievously and in excitation. "Oh oh! I remembered me and my friends used to scare people or scam them during this time of the year where we could threatened them with false ransom." She then sighed in content, crossing her arms, smiling lightly. "Good times really."
"I didn't understand half of the things you've said but I suppose it's what mainly make you stuck here." Alastor deadpanned at her before Cherri blinked innocently. Pentious stared at the woman, midly concerned.
However, before she could add anything else, Luce suddenly beamed as he gasped loudly, grinning.
"Wait guys I have an idea!" He said, almost dropping the now full bowl as he quickly apologized to Keekee before continuing, letting the cat eating her food quietly. "Why don't we organize a Halloween theme costume party it in the hotel?? Plus it's also a way to celebrate its reopening AND our newest member Hu-!"
"Crymini." Everyone corrected.
That took the prince a back before he rubbed his neck, chuckling awkwardly before continuing. "Yeah. Right. Crymini not Husk. Sorry. Anyway! What do you guys think about it??" He asked, looking at everyone.
For a moment, no reactions until Alastor spoke, pursuing his lips at the idea. "Yeah I don't see why not? Plus it can be a way to bond with others." The deer argued. Then, Cherri hummed, considering it before the rest agreed to the prince's concept, much to Luce's joy...
•• <<────≪•◦⚜◦•≫────>> ••
"Holy fucking shit Alastor WHAT DO I DO??!"
... Or not.
Alastor and Luce were in their shared bedroom, the deer waiting patiently for the prince to stop pacing and creating a hole on the carpet. After realizing that it would have been fruitless, the taller sighed and reculantly got up to calm down his prince.
"I just said that out of impulsion! I don't even know how the fuck Halloween is even supposed to work! Wait Cherri said she would scam people during that time- but what if no one actually like this AND-!!"
"-No one is going to die if you don't actually follow the same traditions." Alastor piped in, going behind Luce as he put his hands on his shoulders to calm the anxious little blonde. However, before the later could say anything else, the deer added furthermore, his tone indicating that he was already used to this kind of outbursts, whatever its degree of negativity it was. "And no. No one is going to hate you forever because of a failed party."
"But-"
"No. Cherri will not abandon you nor myself."
"And-"
"Yes I would still love you even if you make a complete fool of yourself. Yes Vagatha will still stay by your side. Yes Charlie too no matter what because she really wants to bond with you again and NO-"
Alastor then proceeded to turn Luce around as to face him before finishing his sentence, firm.
"You are NOT going to throw yourself in a ditch if it doesn't go as planned."
Luce pursued his lips, feeling a bit embarrassed at how Alastor could read him so easily like an open book. However, the deer couldn't help but chuckle slightly without malice but more of fondness as he let go of the prince.
"Luce mon ange everything is going to be alright. It's just a party between friends and acquaintances! Not some-" the deer made vague gestures with his hand before continuing. "-Official royalty kind of ball of whatsoever. Just a costume halloween party let's say? Uh whatever you get it."
The deer stopped as he straighten his back while Lucifer was processing the other's words, getting calmer although he still had an weird feeling about it.
Then it hit him.
"Shit I don't even have a costume-"
"What did you say-?" Alastor asked as he was going through his wardrobe, not looking at Luce who seemed to feel another wave of panic going through him again.
"Shit shit shit shit shit FUCK-!"
"Probably you should stop swearing that much first thing first you know how the butterfly effect with curses and stress works on you Luce." Alastor calmly adviced, while he himself was looking for any inspiration or what to exactly wear.
And, if he had to be honest, even himself didn't really knew WHAT was the clothing he needed to put on-
Well technically he knew! But his own choice of style was actually adequate for it-? During his time of living as a human, his mother was actually religious thus it was unsurprising that he wasn't familiar with all of this even if being around horror was something he was used with.
While he was still rummaging through his clothes with Lucifer having another stressful episode, he accidentally bumped on a black cloth that he almost forgot its own existence.
Curious, he pulled it from the other and couldn't help but frown albeit it wasn't out for any negative emotions.
A black creole dress.
Uh. Weird. He didn't remembered having this in his wardrobe, especially this unique with that color. Was it grief? Probably during her mother's death anniversary? There were chances, plus it was still his size surprisingly. Now it has been a while since he wore any considered feminine attires but maybe he could do something with th-
"Al I finally found it!"
The concerned one couldn't help but bleat slightly in surprise, finally turning back to look at Lucifer as he calmed down, pretending to not have been startled, as he lightly smiled in curiosity.
"Really Luce? What is i-" he stopped on his track when he saw the toned down purple almost pitch black toga with golden motives sewed on it with a golden apple pin. Said Lucifer was smiling widely, feeling victorious until his eyes widened his surprise at Alastor's own choice.
"Wow-" he siffled out, his eyes sparkling in wonder. "It's- this dress is actually really pretty Al! I love it!" The prince beamed before growing confused. "Wait- but where do even got that? I've never seen you wear it before?" He asked, titling his head to the side. Alastor looked down at the fabric before shrugging slightly.
"Have no ideas either. Probably when I was grieving my mother but either forgot about it or just couldn't bear myself to wear it." He said, not missing the flash of sympathy going through Lucifer's eyes but he nodded, understand.
"Well I think this can be an opportunity then! Augh- I mean if you want of course-" Lucifer choked out and said in flushed embarrassment before he continued. "Well- I don't know exactly how can you work with it- but for me it's more the angel of death let's say" he justified, holding up the toga in his arms with a wider grin
Alastor couldn't help but also mirror the same expression, the prince's excited energy infectious.
"Well you sure are having ideas don't you?"
"I need to. After all, I'm the idiot who impulsively requested a costume party even though I didn't even had one." Lucifer shook his head, still not over the fact that he did that.
Alastor suppressed a laugh before pondering as he was contemplating the creole dress.
Maybe he could try and dress like those ladies during carnivals in New Orleans? Or just doing a more over exaggerated caricature of those voodoo priestess or a queered version of... What was his name again? In the movie about the frog? Faciler? Whatever. Probably something among those lines but either way, the deer was mainly just trying to find a spark of imagination.
Until.
"Maybe an allegory of Clémentine Barnabet?"
Lucifer blinked his eyes in surprise.
"Clémentine Barnabet-?"
Alastor shrugged.
"Yup. The serial killer. Now the photos of her were in black and white obviously this her dress was definitely not this color but-" he sighed. "Meh. It's just a costume so why not. Might as well just play it." He said.
Lucifer listened to his explanation before he nodded slowly. "Oooh I understand-"
When he realized that Alastor had nothing else to say, he continued, now smiling again. "Well. I think you would be really amazing as a costume of Clémentine Barnabet."
Somehow Alastor couldn't help but blush, despite finding his own idea ironically stupid.

"... Guys let's be real these two tried to do some matching or not?" Cherri asked, wearing her Harley Quinn outfit while sipping on her weirdly good but nonalcoholic punch drink while she watched from afar the owner and the manager discussing with Vagatha who wore a bloodied nun outfit while holding her spear, under the suspicious gaze of Crymini.
Anthony, who decided to tag along and mainly because Cherri invited him, hummed at the cyclops's observation before watching the two as well.
Pentious, who only found himself tracing a cut line on his neck, slowly slid between the two at the counter, squinting his eyes as to analyze before the snake approved. "Uh. Now that I think about it... And that you bring that up... They both did wore black!"
Cherri deadpanned at him while Anthony raised an eyebrow. Pentious looked at the two, wide eyes. "What??"
"Uh forget it-"
"It's actually not just the color theme. Isn't that also the same jewelry they also use?? Okay what the fuck even shortie here has the same ring as Bambi-" the spider realized, also squinting his eyes to see more details.
"Almost looking like Morticia Addams and Gomez... Except it's a Louisianan guy and his greek demigod."
"So basically just Clémentine Barnabet and Icarus." Pentious concluded.
"I have no ideas who's that Clem but I guess so" Cherri added, still finding it cute that he two were trying to be seen as the couple of the party.
Well. Party was a big word there weren't that many and the queen Charlotte even had to recluse herself for an apparently important matters but hey, as long as Lucifer seemed content with it, the first patron of the hotel would say nothing.

This isnt about jikookers vs tkkrs. This is about the incomparable violent hate jimin gets from a very specific demographic. Please stop publishing certain asks to answer to justify your echo chamber. What you observe in shipping communities doesnt mean shit when it is jimin only that has the biggest amount of hate from a certain category of people. If you actually do care about jimin as you claim you would stop looking at it from a this shipper vs this shipper perspective and start seeing it through jimin, the actual real human being, getting violently hated on by a group of people for so many years. (And stop comparing apples with oranges by saying someone else gets hated on too, when the capacity of said hate is objectively vastly different no matter how you wanna see it.)
As someone who has been following BTS for ten years now, you think I don't know that Jimin gets the most hate out of all of the members? You think I don't know that?
The hatred toward Jimin is not rooted only in shipping dynamics, it's also rooted in bigoted perceptions of him, people often using misogynistic language toward Jimin due to his traditional "feminine" appearance and/or mannerisms. Also, because his family is more public eye, it unfortunately makes them easier targets. You think I don't know about that and that I'm trying to ignore it?
Like I said, you can go on my page at any time and see the countless times I have defended Jimin (and Jungkook) from baseless claims. But you have decided to ignore that in favor of the conversation I talked about today.
I think what people are failing to see, the point that I'm trying to make, is that people on twitter decided to cyberbully two people profusely on the grounds of something that is a silly thing to bully them over. You can't say you hate seeing Jimin get bullied, and then in the same breath, accuse me of ignoring the "bigger picture" in the name of other people being bullied. That's not how it works.
Fact: Jimin gets bullied a lot. We all know that and we all hate it. Also fact: People who write fanfiction are not always trying to incite hate against people and are just artists trying to tell a story.
I said, this fic writer who is not a Jimin anti, who doesn't hate Jimin, who doesn't wish the worst on him or his family, wrote a fic. A taekook fic. Sure, taekookers have a large portion of delusional and hateful fans, that is true. But you know what else is true? The author who wrote the FICTIONAL story, cannot control if a good apple or a bad apple reads it. No one had an issue with any of their other stories, none of the yoonmin, jikook, or yoonkook ones. Not to mention, like jikookers, some taekookers are against the idea of fanfiction altogether.
By the logic that many people have been telling me today, art should not be allowed to be made if the audience that consumes is has a considerable toxic side. Most anime fanbases wouldn't make it to next week, and you know how much they love to hate on their Mangakas. Kpop fanbases are also extremely toxic in nature, therefore it's a bad idea to have these artists release music and content, since Kpop stans have a reputation of spamming people and doxxing people over their idols.
But... that sounds entirely ridiculous. We all know these idols are not responsible for their fanbases, especially when they grow into the millions. This is sort of akin to people blaming idols for inciting certain actions by their fanbase even though they didn't do anything. If an idol tells their fans to attack someone, then yes, they are entirely responsible for what happens afterward. I mean, we have one NewJeans fan account, talytokki, who purposely and maliciously used her influence to send hundreds of bunnies to doxx and cyberbully multiple Kpop creators.
But just think about, just a year and half ago, Jungkook was accused of "feeding the shippers" because he would talk about the other members within his livestreams. It doesn't make any sense, it's not his fault that people move the way that they move.
It's kind of a dangerous precedent, and fanfiction itself is not solely responsible for the actions made against Jimin. Most of the authors who write these fics know it isn't real, and yes, there are some stories where these authors take advantage to make Jimin the villain, that is true. We have seen it. But it's not always the case, some people just like the dynamics and want to write a nice story.
That's why we punish and out the individuals who do write these terrible stories. Like that one Ocean story, or that infamous military comic.
It doesn't change the fact that what happened is that hundreds of people dog piled on two other people, caused one to deactivate (who was a jikooker and loved jimin), and made baseless claims about their characters.
So instead of bullying people who are not Jimin antis about people being Jimin antis, we can make valid criticisms instead. Why blame someone who is very pro-Jimin? When I was in my writing acc prime, I'd get like 100+ quote rts a day, and like I said, I wasn't going through those accounts to check and see what they were up to because it was an impossible and tiring task.
So maybe, we can kindly ask these authors to be more conscious, to make sure that the people that they repost onto their platforms aren't potentially bad people. Some fic authors don't even repost qrts. It's really that easy. No death threats or excessive bullying necessary.

Hi! I’m the anon who wrote the ask about Hunter’s parental issues and about his attachment to Kevin. Thank you for answering my asks, I absolutely love the way you write and how you explain everything! You’re extremely talented!🫶
I honestly didn’t notice how in love Hunter was with Kevin until I watched the movie a second time. It’s crazy how you can literally see all feeling in Hunter’s eyes when he looks at Kevin. I also loved how you said that their relationship fits a BDSM bratting dynamic, because I totally see it.
[and as someone who has ADHD and deals with RSD on a regular, I completely understand him. It sucks.]
Hey 🤘 [prev ask for context] Yeah I obviously couldn’t be 100% sure they were from the same person but it definitely makes the most sense lol
Thank you so much! I’m really glad you enjoy my rambling thoughts about Hunter as a character <3
If you do like my writing, I’m tempted to sheepishly gesture over to my actual Metal Lords fics over on Ao3 if you haven’t checked them out, even tho it makes me feel like a bit of a dick to do so 😅 (They are mostly locked to registered users, blame AI data scraping. The only Metal Lords fic not locked rn is a tiny ficlet. An Ao3 account is free tho 👀)
In any case, I really appreciate that you pushed me to do a bit of analysis again. Because sometimes I tend to forget that all the stuff that lives in my head as “obvious” isn’t always stuff I’ve said out loud on here lmao
There’s a lot to pull from the film if you’re willing to be a bit mentally ill about it.
And you’re absolutely right about the way he looks at Kevin, I mean, it happened enough for me to make a whole ass gifset of it lmao
Tumblr media
Look at him. The boy is smitten. Clueless, of course. But smitten.
Which I credit basically entirely to Adrian Greensmith, as it was a vision he had for the character. I really can’t imagine Hunter having been played by anyone else as he brought so much to the role. (Fun fact, if I remember correctly: Noah Urrea, who plays Clay, originally auditioned for Hunter. No harm but I'm very glad he didn't get that. He makes a good Clay and Hunter just needed to be played by Adrian.)
One of the key things Adrian brought to the role also being, probably accidentally, his anxiety.
"I spent a lot of Metal Lords feeling a bit anxious [...] and in hindsight I wonder if some of that was just a sign that Hunter was quite an anxious character [...] I mean his body's so tense all the time." - Adrian Greensmith.
I shortened that quite a bit so I'm including a slightly longer clip of the interview audio for more context. (I can upload a subtitled video clip if anyone wants that as well as link the video on yt but I'd have to do a bit of a search for that)
Aside: If I had to guess I'd say he's probably referring to Peter Sollett who directed Metal Lords when he mentions a 'Pete'.
And yeah the bratting thing was a little bit of a joke but mostly not a joke. Without going absolutely off the deep end, the mentality behind bratting is something I really see in Hunter.
Evie Lupine has a wonderful video about bratting and why people would be interested in it (and why some people hate it) but a short snippet that always spoke to me from that is the following:
"The motivations behind bratting are pretty varied. I think one of the main ones would be a sense of security and comfort. This is when the acting out is sort of a way to be reassured that even when you, break rules, even when you push at things, the partner that you're with is not going to abandon you." - Evie Lupine
Obviously, with Hunter's fear of abandonment, it's easy to see why this would appeal to him.
He also just...idk he has brat energy - sincerely, a brat.
Tumblr media
And Kevin does just play out the counterpart to that. He doesn't always have Hunter under control but he tries to.
And he does mostly act as that safe person to brat against, which again amplifies the impact it has when Hunter starts to think he's actually losing Kevin, destroying that feeling of safety.
Aside: I obviously don't think that these characters, in universe, negotiated for a bratting dynamic. In universe it'd be something that just sort of organically developed within their friendship/relationship. But even more than that it's an archetype of a dynamic that we as the audience can easily read into their interactions if that makes sense.
Can you believe the shit they will accidentally put in movies? lmao
And yeah, I have ADHD as well. And RSD is something that affects me pretty fucking severely. I've only really become more aware of it in the past year or so as my partner has pointed it out more and more.
So it's definitely something that I then noticed more and more in Hunter too.
Obviously this is all just my take on the character, and other people might have totally different interpretations. That's the beauty of art, we all get to find what we need in it and read it in our own ways, influenced by our own life experiences.
Thank you again for asking, Anon 🤘 (if you want to use a nickname or smth to identify that you're the same Anon, let me know. If not, that's totally okay too, but I might not always know it's you)
