What brushes do you use and are they available for Ibis paint?
The program I use to draw is FireAlpaca, however I still am willing to share the brushes that I use if you are interested in finding or creating your own equivalent! Brushes highlighted in This Color are my staples. All of the brushes I show here are avaliable on the FireAlpaca brush store for free!
Also for a note, I have SEVERAL custom brushes not included in this post, if asked, I will make a post trying to find the files for everyone.
Lineart Brushes
Pen-My staple lineart blush ESPICALLY for polished works.
2. Pencil (Canvas)- Used often for sketches and messy works
3. Rough G Pen- Used for works I want to complete quickly
Often Used Brushes
Airbrush- Me and the airbrush hold hands, we had a spring wedding, if there are no airbrush defenders left it means im dead. Without exaggeration I use it in 95% of my works.
2. Watercolor Flat Brush 1- I sometimes use this for texture work and for redinish shading
Specialty Brushes
These are brushes I reach for on rare occasions! I will only show the brushes themselves instead of explaining their use.
Twinkling stars 3 and Grunge 3 are two favorites!

Let me just quickly say, cross-overs can sometimes get REALLY difficult to map out and write in a cohesive way but you have absolutely NAILED IT!! I absolutely ADORE LoF!!! I usually don’t even bother reading fics with the ‘Richard Grayson is Richard Parker’ premise cause I felt like they were super confusing and overcomplicated but this fic?? SUPERB. ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. OH MY GOD I ADORE IT. Everyone’s characterizations are so nice and wonderful aaaaaaah!!!! <33333
Ok ok I did actually have a question as well: would you be willing to share what your writing process looks like in terms of a chapter you’ve already posted? I was just wondering since I’m also currently working on my own fic (it’s been a few years but I managed to get fixated on an idea and it grew legs lol) and I’m currently fighting the organization of it haha.
How do you keep track of the plot points and/or foreshadowing you want to get a ‘lightbulb!’ moment for later? Do you have any tips?
Thank you so much! I absolutely adore your writing AND your art is so gorgeous omg it adds so much to the incredible story :DDD I hope you have a good day!!
I have a secret: I actually didn't like "Richard Grayson is Richard Parker' tag for a while for the same reason. Sometimes they felt like they missed the mark or it's just. A thing that's there? I almost didn't include it for LoF, but I'm glad I did because it changed the direction in such a big way.
Another secret: this made me incredibly happy because I have read so many wikis and scoured the internet to make sure that I had enough info on both fandoms so LoF could make sense to anyone who's reading it, whether they know Spider-Man, Batfam, or neither at all. Sometimes I worry a lot before I post that I'll miss a mark and will confuse people.
As for the question: I definitely am willing to share what my writing process looks like!
Be prepared for under the cut, I love to yap. It's in my blood to yap. And that's why it took a minute to get to this ask haha
(Spoilers for Leap of Faith!! Everything mentioned has already been published ((Chapters 1-11))
I had to go and find out which chapter I wanted to use as an example and I think we're gonna go with Chapter 5 for the most part :)
My writing process is, as described by alighterwood:
I think the description fits because while I'm all over the place, I have to be very detail oriented and I store everything in one spot.
Starting with the overall process, what I find is most helpful for me, when organizing, is having a notebook rather than doing it all digitally. I've been using a 70 sheet notebook that I had lying around waiting to be used, and as of yesterday, I officially filled the entire thing front to back. It's been an incredible help, for a lot of reasons, but mostly because it's a lot easier to remember something I physically wrote down than it is to remember something I typed. I'm now on to my second notebook for LoF, and I might even have to get a third.
In another ask, startupkat asked me this:
And I shared a little about my outline process there, but I'll try to go into a little more depth here. Emphasis on little because this is so long.
I write a truly insane amount of outlines in this notebook.
This is just what I can show you, but a good chunk of the notebook is just outlines. Over and over and over again. That's because they're always changing/adapting based on so many different factors. Sometimes I get to a chapter I thought I had fully planned out and then realize it just doesn't work anymore. Other times, I get to the chapter and realize I don't want to write that anymore/isn't as interesting as I thought it would be. A few times I got halfway through a POV of a scene I was struggling on and decided to switch POV's, which will change up the outline for a chapter every now and then.
Which is why I don't write incredibly detailed outlines and try to keep it vague until I actually get to that chapter. It's a lot less daunting to rewrite a chapter outline than it is to rewrite the entire outline.
Fic outlines and Chapter outlines look a lot alike.
This is what I said in the other ask, but I didn't elaborate on it all the way.
I make a list just like that, and then I try to put it in chronological order/in an order that makes sense. I keep the Fic outline vague by writing down "Goals" for a chapter rather than scenes. But I also keep notes to myself if I really think something is important. The more important I think a scene needs to be, the more details I write down to make sure my future self recalls what I had in mind when I thought it up.
Really simple example:
Chap 1 Goal: Peter gets to Gotham and meets Babs while running around. Meet Nightwing too? Get shelter.
Chapter 2 Goal: Bats are like "???" about Peter. Batfam dynamic important... Peter stalking Batfam back? Peter meet Batman >:)
When I get to a chapter, that's when I make a far more detailed list of wants/needs/goals. It's the Step 2 from the Step 1. Here are some examples from Chapter 5:
Needed to have:
More POV's from universe 1299 (Peter's home universe)
Tony's POV more specifically, how he's doing/feeling, what he's figured out
What they've figured out on 1299 side vs what's going on in 1300 (Gotham)
Explaining more about Peter's trauma/his past
Dick learning more about Peter, and vise versa
Wanted to have:
Ned being a more central character
Natasha :)
Loki being a little shit
Tony and Cap bickering
Peter talking to Nightwing again
The last name Grayson
Gymnastics!!
(This is the shortened list, because the chapters are so long)
When I looked at this list before writing my outline, I had to figure out how I could incorporate everything. If I needed more 1299 POV's, and I wanted Ned, Natasha, and Loki, there's one scene accounted for. I had to get their side of things and wanted that trio together. I needed a Tony POV, and I wanted Tony and Cap bickering, so those went together, plus I got 1299's POV of Ohnn and his plans explained.
I needed to have Peter explaining more about his trauma, and Dick and Peter to talk/get closer. I wanted a Nightwing POV, to have Peter say his last name, and them doing gymnastics. I knew Peter wouldn't willingly talk about that, so I had him have a nightmare. Not only did it give readers perspective but it made Peter more susceptible to talking to Nightwing because he was more emotionally vulnerable/lonely, and that's how that scene came together.
That's when I would write down the chronological order of these events by writing out "Scene Blocks." (This is what I wrote down but my handwriting was so bad I can't subject y'all to it):
scene 1- Ned talking to Loki. Natasha should be nearby and observing Loki's behavior. They are not on friendly terms. Ned is more worried about Peter than he is as to what Loki could be up to, so Natasha takes on that role.
scene 2- Tony is freaking out about Peter being in an alt dimension. He should attack Ohnn when he's not prepared for it. Beat his ass? Beat his ass. Cap there too.
scene 3- Peter's nightmare. "Ben, where do you go when you die?" "Where do you think?" "With you. Where you went."
scene 4- Nightwing and Peter.
Of course, things come to attention when writing. Like originally, Tony and Cap were arguing in the Tower. But it was a little too much like his and Natasha's argument, and I kept in mind that Tony is smart. Sometimes I forget that the characters are smarter than I am, so I have to account for what they would figure out. So Tony would have picked up the puzzle pieces and come to more conclusions than I originally thought about, and I figured he'd be way more proactive about it than just. Being in the Tower and waiting.
Which means that that scene ended up being as listed above: having a squabble with Cap, learning more about Peter's dynamic with the Avengers in this universe, and seeing how Tony is reacting to it by throwing himself head first into trying to capture Ohnn.
I'll realize I need something else to be mentioned or put in and I'll have to shimmy things around, but that's basically how it goes.
As for other forms of organization:
Keeping a timeline is so important because it tells you a lot about the environment your characters are in. It's also important to remember what a character has on them, what money they've spent, who they've met/who you have mentioned, every alias that is being used, to read your work and write down edits you want to make before you make them, to write down ideas beforehand of situations you can use, and, most importantly: MAKE A MAP!! This has saved me so many times. Sometimes your brain WILL trick you or make it harder on you to envision a scene. Make a map of where your characters are physically!! It will save you too!!
As for foreshadowing and plot points, I'll let you in on yet another secret:
Your subconscious is doing a lot more than you think it is.
Sometimes when I foreshadow something, I didn't even know I was until I got to it. I very often go back to read chapters that came before this to see what I've mentioned and what I haven't, and when I do, I'll see something and go "I have to bring this back" or "I almost forgot about that!"
Other times, I am very aware of what I'm foreshadowing, and that's because I follow a mystery plot formula. You have to keep in mind everyone's intentions, all the time. How are they feeling? What are their motivations? And: what are they doing right now, while this character is doing this?
Like Beck and Ohnn. From the very beginning, I knew I had to make sure that it was obvious Ohnn wasn't working alone. From there, I had to weave through the story and slowly build him up as someone who's working behind the scenes. Even from Ned's first POV, I made sure to mention that this person knows Tony and is tech savvy.
My biggest tip is to make sure you reread your work or at least skip through it, because sometimes you don't even know that you placed something there.
And sometimes, it's very purposeful. :)
I hope this helped! I really tried to keep it short but I am insane and the process is sooooo long. It sounds complicated but it really is simple when you're actually doing it I swear

why do you continue to watch gmmtv shows when you clearly don’t enjoy them?
This is the kind of rude, cowardly anonymous ask that I would typically just delete, but I’m in the mood to be generous so I will respond and use it as an educational moment.
I have to start by rejecting your premise. I enjoy plenty of GMMTV shows. My favorite Thai bl of this year is Cherry Magic Thailand. I wrote quite lovingly about it on this hellsite for 12 weeks. I was also a big fan of Cooking Crush and The Trainee this year, Kidnap is giving me joy weekly, and I’m currently in the midst of a really interesting discussion with people far more mature than you about Peaceful Property. GMMTV is also responsible for some of my all time favorite Thai shows including Bad Buddy, 3 Will Be Free, Midnight Museum, Theory of Love, Moonlight Chicken, and Dark Blue Kiss, and many more besides that I liked a lot. You don't know me. You have made the mistake of assuming that because you’ve seen a small fraction of my posts about specific things, you know what I think about all kinds of things. But as my beloved departed grandfather loved to say, when you assume you make an ass out of u and me.
So with that out of the way, let’s get to the real question underneath your logical fallacy: why don’t I keep my mouth shut instead of posting about the flaws I observe in these shows? There are a number of reasons for that.
First, I am extremely open about the fact that I am interested in the art and science of narrative storytelling, and I often post about it from a critical lens. This is all in the pinned post at the top of my blog, but I doubt someone with your lack of manners bothered to look there before sending me this ask.
Second, I don’t believe in the popular fandom idea that all meta discussion of shows should be positive and centered on stanning for actors or pairs and their shows. That's a fine pursuit for folks who enjoy engaging with media that way, but I personally find that boring and intellectually empty, and have very little interest in it. I like to learn from the things I enjoy, and you can't learn if you're not willing to think critically about why something in a story may or may not be working.
Third, my favorite thing about watching media is discussing it with like-minded people, and the way to find like-minded people is to share your honest feelings about what you're watching. I have made some of the best friends of my life by posting my unfiltered thoughts about whatever I'm watching in various social media spaces, and having people come and say "hey, me too" or "I don't quite agree but what an interesting thought." We connect with others through sharing our thoughts and feelings. If you censor yourself in fandom spaces, you will not find your people.
Fourth, on the specific topic of GMMTV: they are the largest and best resourced ql-producing studio in the biggest ql-producing country, and part of a giant media conglomerate that controls much of the media in Thailand. Their shows matter in terms of the influence they have over the rest of the industry, and so the messages they send with their shows also matter. I will never ignore them completely even when I choose not to watch some of their shows, because where they go, the larger ql industry follows. When I see a trend in their shows that is harmful, like, say, the repeated use of marginalized identities for marketing their shows that they then disrespect in the way the stories are executed, that needs to be pointed out and examined, and I am hardly the only one doing so.
I'll end by asking you a question, anon: what did you hope to accomplish by sending me this ask? Unlike many of the other folks who have been engaging in critical discussion with me over the last couple days, you had nothing constructive to say. You didn't put forward an interpretation or share your own feelings, you didn't contribute to the collective analysis process, and you didn't offer any commiseration or even a clear disagreement with anything I said. From where I'm sitting, your only intent was to attempt to shame me for speaking. You will never be successful at that, and it's a pretty ugly impulse that you should examine in yourself. When you find yourself being awful to real human beings because you can't manage your emotions about fictional media, it's time to think about what you're doing here. I hope you'll reflect on that, and take good care.

Hey guys! Just wanted to let everyone know to be extra careful if you get randomly dmed by someone for a commission! Even if your commissions *are* open, it could be an attempt to scam you, so be mindful of some red flags even if you’re super excited to get a first big commission!
Some Red Flags
My recent experience with this involved me being messaged by someone who didn’t follow me or anyone in my circle 🚩asking if I do commissions. When I said yes, they explained what they would like and I gave them the estimated price, which was around $120. In response they offered to pay $200 instead 🚩🚩🚩, and asked me for my Paypal email 🚩🚩🚩 .
If a payment seems too good to be true, It probably is.
Some people are passionate about supporting small artists, or just artists in general, and may want to pay you extra, but to do this before any work has been done on the commissions is something to be suspicious of, especially considering they wanted a drawing of a dog, when I have no examples of dog art on my account onceoever. It is likely that scammers doing this don’t even look at the kind of art you create and just follow the artist hashtags.
I then replied to their ask for my email with instead my terms of service, sharing what I am comfortable with my art being used for and what the process for payment will look like (half up front, and half later upon completion), to which they replied with “yo don’t worry, just give me your email.” Obviously this is a big tip off that a commission isn’t worth pursuing, because in any regular case a customer would probably want to make clear that they understand the TOS.
Safety
The style of scamming involving acquiring one’s Paypal email, to my knowledge, involves the scammer sending you an email from “Paypal” stating that you will have to upgrade your account to receive the offered payment, which will involve sending the scammer some sort of personal information or money. Additionally, the use of a baseline number such as $200, which was well above my asking price, could be both to add stakes so that the artist more strongly wants to pursue the commission opportunity, but also potentially to make the process easier for the scammer who would probably be using the same images and/or copy pasted email across scams with that amount of money in the email.
While it is true that to my knowledge people can send you money using your Paypal’s email as an identifier, and people asking for such may not be scammers, I would suggest advocating for the sake of privacy that instead you use your Paypal Username for the transaction. Additionally, try not to get too excited from the get-go about opportunities that may seem too good to be true, because this can make it more difficult to turn back later when red flags begin to show up. Lastly, be skeptical and look out for yourself. If someone is not willing to simply agree to your terms of service or follow any sort of normal purchasing process, do not bend and in turn compromise yourself with your flexibility. Everyone be careful out there, and best of luck!!

Hi! I read your TMNT 2012 separated au that you made with ellestrade and it really gave me brainworms so I wrote a small one-shot for it! The characters kinda ended up writing themselves haha.
anyways, wanted to share it with you and also make sure that you're okay with it. Not sure how you feel about other people taking inspiration from you ideas, so if you would like me to take it down, just let me know!
Thanks for sharing such fun ideas. Here's the post (I've also tagged you in it but sometimes tags are weird and don't always show. Also its on my fandom specific sideblog, but I am the same person haha)
Gotta love those brain worms! (Ironic statement from a 2012 viewpoint, actually-) HOLY CHALUPA, BRAIN WORMS IN THIS AU UNIVERSE, WAIT WAIT ACTUALLY WAIT-
*background rambles and spazzing*
Okay, I’m back.
I’m always a-okay with whatever fan things anyone wants to create with inspiration from something I made or helped make. As long as it isn’t containing some stamp that says “this I deem canon” when neither me (nor my partner) deemed it canon, no one ever has to worry with me getting upset over some story/comic/art.
I’m going to give some thoughts and I want to disclaimer.
When I discuss my thoughts on your POV of events in the AU, I will never, in any way, intend to diss or attack the story. I think the flow was excellent and Raph’s analysis of the events occurring was intriguing. I loved it! And nothing I say will be a statement otherwise.
But, since I have a distinct inability to keep my mouth shut when it comes to turtles and you asked, I have thoughts 🧐
My brain is now turning and ya’ll have to deal.
Characterization:
Donnie: Much distrust. Much sass. A strong sense of duty to defend his brethren turtles who don’t deserve it but he’s doing it anyway.
Very on point. Much approval 👌
Mikey: Could not be more perfect. I love him. Sweet soul ✨
Leo: He’s a bit less… Forceful. Cold and calculating. Than I envision.
I’d imagine that he had to learn to shut feelings down in order to survive. Fidgeting/smiling/visibly hesitating is out of the question. Staying in Shredder’s graces meant learning to play the game. His silence is what earns Raph the ability to be loud. The only times that he’s himself is when him and Raph are alone, outside of the sight of cameras, or when someone in is danger and fear/fury overwhelms all else. He seems bland to outsiders and it takes the Hamato brothers a while to see that that he’s just a scared little boi at heart that’s just trying his best in a cruel world.
He’s also set in his beliefs, so he’s going to assume that they’re being tormented mentally, if not physically. There’s no place in his mind that wonders if they were actually safer elsewhere.
I do like your POV, though. Plenty for me to play with.
Raph:
He’s ABSOLUTELY the first to question the differences between how Shredder treats them and how Splinter treats their brothers. He doesn’t jump the gun, but as devoted as he is, he’s never really liked Shredder. I love the implications that he’s been filing away concerns subconsciously and his brain keeps poking him like “HELLO?!”
He’s very deep. I can’t decide how I feel about that 🤔
Shredder would have wanted to fan that temper into something unforgiving and vile. Or course, that doesn’t mean he stops being a sensitive soul. It could… Have something to do with Shredder manipulating him into being angry when he wills it (basically all the time) and solemn and still when he doesn’t (such as during lectures, punishments, etc).
His brain registers this situation as one where he’s not meant to be loud and angry, and so he’s kinda… Shut down. Sassy, but mellow. Processing. Adapting. Letting what happens happen because he’s not meant to stop it.
It’s a reason that Leo gets so defensive when punishments come into play. It forces Raph to feel small. It make him vulnerable.
HOLY MOTHER OF MUTATIONS- I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS NEW TAKE ON THE AU @ellestrade TELL ME IF I’M ONTO SOMETHING
Anyway, commentary:
“in one of Takeō's strategy books he couldn't care less about”
It’s like Space Heroes. He claims so and YET he read, recalls, AND clearly has DEBATED the passage so I call sus vibes.
I get giddy when I think of Takeō discovering Space Heroes-
“Junkō and Kōta— or Donnie and Mikey, whatever false name they’d been given—”
My brain made connections. I don’t know if it was intended, but I always believe that they knew them by Shredder’s names through the beginning of season one, end of season one/beginning of season two they were associating them as both, and then by the time that the City is under attack, they’ve adapted to using their real names. (But the Saki brothers still keep their Foot names.)
So, now I assume this is somewhere in that middle plot.
Fun little Easter egg~
“Takeō and Akihitō were the offense, and Donnie and Mikey were the defense” “They held their own. In fact, they dominated.”
I’m in love with Raph’s simple acknowledgment of their roles in battle. It’s a very practical outline of exactly how their dynamic on the field plays out and he's so certain of his place.
On the other hand, I’m a bit uncertain about whether they’d dominate. I do believe that they are trained and can hold their own, but I don’t know about them being as impressive as Raph&Leo, simply because Splinter trained them to defend and Shredder trained them to kill. The Hamato brothers haven’t had much time to practice in the offensive, especially since that’s Leo&Raph’s job. (In non-AU canon, they are all offensive/defensive.)
I think Mikey might learn that kinda strength at the farmhouse after being taught by Leo&Raph, and Donnie will step back from that, finally finding his place not as a fighter/leader, but as a scientist.
Definitely an interesting take, tho 🤔
“Only now does he think that, perhaps, there was a reason their master made their primary weapons blunts and not blades.”
I am chewing on this line so hard. It’s so powerful.
I can’t even tell you why. It just is.
“Akihitō knows that Takeō isn’t lying. He’d already tried to take tonight's blame all on his own shoulders, spare Akihitō of the punishment. But Akihitō knows all his tricks and he won’t let his brother suffer alone. Again.”
100% behind Raph learning to butt in when Leo tries to take the fall as they get older and punishments get worse.
“Seeing the situation, the evidence glaring at him, Akihitō cannot deny that this wasn’t exactly a great sell. Takeō and him are tied to the ground, trying to convince these two strangers that they would be safe with them. That their clan would not hurt them while that same clan was just about ready to beat them to a pulp.”
I was thinking the same thing 🤣
Leo, dude, seriously. Look around. Think for a second. You are not selling your point. You are doing the opposite.
In the end, it doesn’t even matter. Sensei will always find them no matter where they run. It was better to follow than be chased.
SOMEONE NEEDS TO TEACH THESE KIDS THAT THIS IS A TOXIC RELATIONSHIP. YOU SHOULD NOT FEEL MOTIVATED TO STAY WITH DAD BECAUSE HE WILL FORCED YOU TO REMAIN OTHERWISE. BRUH. RED FLAG.
These were Foot Ninja binds made specifically to hold them. Mutant strength and all.
It makes sense that Shredder would make these. But.
But man. He made those. For them.
Takeō tries to take control of the situation again, the bossy oldest sibling coming out in him.
HA. Got him. Leo is Leo in any universe.
“His name is Mikey.” Donnie glares. “The rat is lying and he has—” “Donnie, its fine.”
Absolutely how they view things. Mikey doesn’t care what they think or do as long as no one he cares about is paying the price. Donnie feels it is a manner of principle that they accept logic and truth.
Leo talking over both of them is valid. This kid, I swear.
“Then tell your older brother to shut up about—”
LEO IS IT OFFICIAL YOU HAVE BEEN DISOWNED
“Sounds like a you-problem.” Donnie stands. “Mikey, we saved them. It's time to go.”
Donnie would die for them <3
A hand lands on his shoulder, and he recognizes it. Takeō always knows when to give support. He’s a good brother. He hopes Donnie and Mikey will know that one day too.
OH. OKAY. WELL. 🥺
THOSE FEELS CAME OUT OF NOWHERE-
He loved his big bro sm hjkhkjhkjhjkkjhkjhkjhku
If Akihitō didn’t know any better, he’d say it was longing.
Oh, don’t worry, he is dying to have other people in his life who genuinely care for him, but as long as you guys are with the enemy, you’re a threat to his baby brother and daddy and not to be trusted
And, just maybe, it could be their world too.
Oh, so that’s what pain feels like. Glad to be reminded.

CLAY PIGEON COMMISSION DETAILS
Commission Slot List
Please see my price list for approximate prices, as well as examples of the shapes/sizes of pieces I can make
Commissions are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis
I reserve the right to refuse any commission
Please send me a private message to arrange a commission—not an Ask (you can also email me at [email protected] but I am more responsive here)
and I’m still accepting dibs on my unfired original pieces
I will make copies of my existing pieces, or work with you to create something new
I can make a close copy of my own work, or I can change the colour and carving choices
If it’s a new work, I will send you pictures of the sketch for your approval
Large scale revisions can only be made during the sketching phase. Literally. Once it’s carved, there’s very little I can do to change it.
Small additions or adjustments can be done right after the piece is carved, when I send you pictures, that is the time to mention anything you want changed.
Please be detailed in your description and send reference pictures if possible
I don’t charge extra for original pieces, despite sketching time
Once I’ve created your original design, the design will go into my repertoire for other people to commission copies of it, unless you ask for it to remain separate
WAITLIST
If you ask for a commission when the slot is closed, I have waitlist slots for each type of commission. Usually there’s only one slot, but every once in a while I’ll add a second. If the waitlist slot is open, I can put you on it after getting some details about your commission to confirm that it’s one I would be willing to take.
If you ask for a commission when the waitlist is closed, I'll ask you to message me again once the slot is open again.
I will do my best to give you an accurate timeline for when I will start your commission and when it will be completed.
PAYMENT, ETC
I take 20% of the cost of the piece before starting
You are responsible for shipping cost, on top of the cost of the piece (I can estimate shipping cost for you, but it won’t be exact until the piece is ready to ship)
I do all my transactions through Paypal invoices
All my prices are in CAD
Prices vary depending on size of the piece, the style of decorating, and the amount of detail
Commissions can take as long as six months, depending on piece size and kiln schedules
I will do my best to keep you updated about your piece’s status and approximate timeline, but if you have questions feel free to message me
If there’s a problem with the piece (warping, a flaw in the glaze, no longer food-safe, etc), I will either lower the price or remake it, if you choose
I reserve the right to refuse to remake a broken or flawed piece, but I will refund your deposit
Once the piece is finished, you have two weeks to arrange payment and shipping. If you communicate with me about needing longer and give me a specific date, I will hold it for you until that date. After that (and a couple reminders) I will make it available for other people to buy. I can’t hold pottery for people indefinitely
If you want a piece by a specific date, I will charge an extra $20 if I successfully get it to you on time, since it’ll mean juggling kiln time with other potters and coordinating with the studio’s kiln tech. I cannot guarantee that it will be done by a specific date, I work with a shared kiln and don’t always have access. The farther out you order it, the better.
I WILL
make portraits of people or animals
make prose or poetry into pottery
make memes into pottery
depict nudity or sex
depict blood, death, or gore
I MIGHT
depict original characters
depict fan art
I WON’T
copy another artist’s work without the permission of that artist
ONCE I'VE ACCEPTED
I will keep you updated with an approximate timeline and do my absolute best to get it to you in a reasonable timeframe, but…
Please remember that pottery is a slow process.
Once I build the piece, it has to dry for a few days up to a couple weeks before it’s ready to carve. And once it’s been carved, it can take a couple months to be fully dry, especially if it’s a large piece.
Drying pottery slowly prevents warping and cracking, so it can’t be rushed, and if a piece goes into the kiln before it’s fully dry, it will explode. Any moisture in the clay will rapidly expand as it turns to steam and literally blow the piece apart.
And, unfortunately, with a shared kiln, sometimes the schedule just doesn’t allow me to fire for a couple weeks-months.
Thanks for reading, I appreciate it!

why do you make art? is what you make honest and true to your beliefs and values? does your art center, or distract? These are a few questions I’m thinking on after attending an artist teach-in for Pal3stin3 yesterday.
I’ve been sitting with current events and processing a lot lately. We are out here watching whole human beings being mass bombed and murdered every day, because the powers that be are fine with sacrificing entire family lines and destroying history and cultures for oil and land. It’s soul-crushing. The islamaphobia, orientalism, and casual anti-asian hate I’m seeing people in my life share on social media, is also soul-crushing. as william faulkner once said, and as all my professors have always said, the past is never really past.
when i see all this, i feel consumed by horror, and disgust, and anger. when i see our government continue to murder Indigenous people like it always has, it’s still jarring witnessing what has always happened, happen again. Hearing my partner’s refugee family stories, and watching more people become refugees, is terrible. I don’t understand why Pal3stinians need to do so much to prove their worth and humanity to others, and am equally freaked out how videos of their struggles are not enough for some to care. But watching the homies continue to make art, share stories, share information, and build community through protests + teach ins, reminds me that people have always been fighting oppression, and always will– the past of our resistance continues to the now. I make what I make because it’s useless to just sit with my feelings and the facts, and take them nowhere. I would also rather die than make dishonest work. I hope that if I keep writing and posting about this, that you dear friends, will consider how much power your individual and group actions can have towards creating a world we can all live in. Your feelings right now are important– they’re motivation to do something. It’s a privilege that we’re able to sit with them. If you’re unsure of what to do and are feeling overwhelmed, don’t worry– I’ve got a list of things you can do right here.
1) you can learn more! If you don’t feel well informed enough to be sure that your actions match your intentions, you can check out @palestinianfeministcollective, or @bayareapym to sign up for a teach-in session with organizers and academics. You can also check out the readings & educational resources they have linked in their bios. Ethnic studies and Feminist studies scholars from around the world have a lot of great stuff to say on these pages.
2) you can attend protests, and share info on protests! @JVPLA is the LA branch of Jewish Voice for Peace, a great org that has been leading huge c3as3fir3 protests all around the world. @bayareapym is also another great page to check out for protest information and political education. If you are located near a school or university, you can also check out its branch of SJP (for example, @ucsbSJP), or students for justice in pal3stin3. JVP, SJP, and PYM all have local branches all over the place, so see if your town or city has a branch you can get together with! USCPR is also a great org that’s working to end US military support to 1sra3l. Our elected officials are ignoring us when we ask politely for them to stop murdering, so going out and protesting will help make sure they hear us and actually represent our values and beliefs.
3) if you don’t have money or time, there is also the power of boycotting! Never underestimate the power of a “no”. Check out the next slide to see how boycotts work to help defund the war machine, and save lives. Art credit for slide 2 goes to Mona Challabi. Withholding your time and money from corporations that are willing to sacrifice people’s lives for resources will teach them through boycotts, that people are not down for mass murder for the sake of material wealth. I definitely don’t want my tax or spending money going towards killing random people. if I can help it, I will make sure my money goes somewhere it will do good.
4) email or call your elected officials to tell them directly that the people want an immediate c3as3fir3! Check out @woketeachers for info on what numbers to call, and some scripts if you need help figuring out how to voice your demands. You can even use those phone scripts as a template for emailing your elected officials– I like to use it as a little outline before expanding it into a longer message.
Anyways, there are four powerful ways to take action instead of stewing directionless in feelings. Please do something– your voice matters.

Intro post!!!!
(But redone for the second time lmao)
Hello!!! I’m Apavlovs, I am the creature behind the screen drawing the silly guys you see before you :]
This is mostly just a place where I can share my art and ramble about my ocs, and occasionally draw fanart of the stuff I like… just a little corner to have fun, yknow?
Other stuff about me!!
I love being sent drawing requests!! The only catch is I can’t promise I’ll always get around to them, and if I do it might take me centuries because I have trouble working up the motivation to draw anything more than sketches </3 (I see you people in my inbox and I am so very sorry)
Related to the last point, I also love being sent asks in general!! Whether it be asking about lore, world building or art tips, or even just to say hi! It always brightens my day :]
Officially diagnosed with AuDHD, which means I’m extremely forgetful and sometimes overly energetic— if I forget to respond to asks, comments, etc or am overbearing I promise it isn’t on purpose LMAO
I have trouble processing tones, so you might see me use tone tags a lot (these little bad boys —> /silly, /nf, etc. if you need any clarification let me know!!!)
I enjoy rambling so very much, if you’re willing to listen (and to come to me first,) I’m always happy to talk to you :]
Some other social media accounts I have;
YouTube Channel - https://youtube.com/@apavlovs2007?si=t80uIN3pXVb9PO07
Artfight - https://artfight.net/~Apavlovs
Toyhouse - (still) in the works!!!!
Various hyperfixations I have at the moment;
- Psychonauts
- Bioshock
- TF2, medic is neat and so is engineer
- Atomic Heart
- Minecraft
- Inanimate Insanity (would put object shows in general but I still gotta watch all the other popular ones)
- Medical/Sciencey themes, if you have a scientist character I WILL go feral and that is a promise
- Object heads
- Cookie Run (specifically Kingdom I have not touched ovenbreak ever)
- That one guy I draw 24/7™️
Will probably continue editing this occasionally to change up the hyperfixation list but yeah!!!! Intro post!!!!!!! Yippee ki yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
#intro post#introduction#pinned intro#don’t be afraid to ask if you need any clarification on anything :]]]

Hi, thank you for reaching out. It means a lot to me especially because this is something I enjoy doing. I like learning about people and their behaviors and their opinions. I have a lifestyle that makes it complicated to reach out to others and have honest discourse.
I ask very open ended questions. Some of the questions may feel like they have little direction on how to answer them but I hope to get some great results with them.
In person I am really friendly, but for some reason I can come across kind of robotic on the computer. I believe the main reason for that is I became a customer support agent and use to answer emails from people all day. My literal requirement was to answer 100 emails to all sorts of emails so my typing became very...tense. I am unlearning some habits so that I may have my writing reflect my personality better. If something comes across cold please know that I don't mean to offend or trigger. You are free to not answer any questions that result in that emotion and I want to apologize if anything I say upsets anyone. It may be helpful to read through all of the questions before responding or only choosing to answer ones that you read and instantly want to rant about. I want whatever answers you have to give. Don't hold back on opinion or page numbers :)
If you want to be anonymous I am A-Okay with that friend. I would still like you to answer the questions honestly. Please leave out any information that you feel would unveil you mask.
So on to the questions.
Would you be willing to share a little background about yourself? I am interested in what you would share when asked to describe yourself in terms of a person being interviewed about art. What background information do you think relevant to this interview?
Do you do art purely as a hobby or work or a mixture of both? If you do sell your art what is the price range of your work? You can be general here. I am looking for brackets of what type of artists I am working with.
What type of mediums do you work in? Do you stick to certain genres or themes? Are there any the frustrate you but you still enjoy the process and end result?
What compels you to work on art?
Do you have a process in how you get yourself set up to work on art?
When do you consider a piece done?
Do you seek out other artists to befriend? How do you interact with other artists?
What hot topics are making you excited in the art world?
Is there anything new in the art world you would like to share with other people?
Do you consider the environmental impact that art has on the world? This can be in general or your art specifically. Please consider that if you are a digital artist you have an impact with electricity types and server usage.
These next set of questions might trigger those sensitive to AI.
What is your opinion on AI?
If AI is here to stay, do you think there will ever be a happy medium between AI usage and artists?
It has been suggested that some companies use AI but hire artists to train them. If a company approached you with a business model where you create assets for a hypothetical project but then wanted to use those assets to also train an AI "artist" so they could continue to create with your style, what would your response be?
What if you were paid royalties? Does your answer change?
I may come up with more questions but I am going to start off with these. If you would like to be contacted with more questions for possible future editions of this please let me know. If you would like to be tagged in the article I write or DMed a copy please let me know that information as well. Again, thank you for taking the time out of your day to participate in something as random as this.
Helloooo! I’m so glad you reached back. I absolutely did not see your writing as cold or robotic at all! I actually thought it was very well articulated and straightforward, which I appreciate because sometimes I cannot understand questions very well :-)
Q & A time! (warning for some triggering topics)
Would you be willing to share a little background about yourself? I am interested in what you would share when asked to describe yourself in terms of a person being interviewed about art. What background information do you think relevant to this interview?
I think a person’s background is almost 100% of what makes up their person, isn’t it? My upbringing was very violent and I feel like this has influenced a lot of my art, be it the process, the results, and the themes or topics chosen. I was exposed to violence and thinly-disguised neglect as a child, and I turned to NSF-W and gore media as a sort of escapism when I was as young as 7. I can recognize now that that had a negative impact in my way of thinking. That combined with me knowing I was queer on the down-low from a young age didn’t really help my situation, so I would lash out in specific behaviors. I was the weird kid and I’m still a little bit convinced I might have some low level of autism, but I’ve never been one to self-diagnose. I was raised Evangelical but to my own shock I was never really one to Bible-thump onto others, even with how easy it was to fall down that alt-right rabbit hole. I think Tumblr had a lot to do with that. If I hadn’t found it in the moment I did, I’m afraid to think I’d be one of those right-winger youths we have nowadays. I went through the religion resentment phase for a long time but surprisingly I’ve found faith once more a couple of years ago, in a critical way of course. I love God but not the church, and I feel like most Evangelicals have lost the plot long ago.
I started drawing at a very young age, probably before I even had a conscience. I went through many phases. One of the most influential ones in my life was fantasy art, specifically dragonsonas. I remember it as being longer than it probably was, though. I went through the manga/anime phase. I went through the typical vent art phase, the literal one in terms of my then works being ‘what you see is what I mean’ pictures: edgy, gory, I want to die’ messages all over the page, etc. I think from the moment I was like 16 and onwards I started focusing more on realistic human art. And I think my art might reflect my progress as a person in a way? I’ve evolved backwards, but not in a necessarily bad way. When I was young I acted an adult because I was forced to grow up too soon, but now I’m 25 and I act more like a kid because I’ve started finding the whimsy in life. I think my art might reflect that because I now draw the things that make me happy, not the ones that make me sad.
Do you do art purely as a hobby or work or a mixture of both? If you do sell your art what is the price range of your work? You can be general here. I am looking for brackets of what type of artists I am working with.
I do it as both a hobby and a side job, hoping one day for it to be more like a main job. The thing is I’m not famous enough yet lol, and I am open to suggestions of websites where you can find those kinds of work more easily.
My ranges vary wildly because I work with different styles, some of which will take me a lot longer than others. For reference my least expensive style starts at 40 USD but in a very near future I’m going to open a new, more accessible tier that’ll probably start at 25 USD. There is no definite maximum in the range I work because that will be defined by what the client wants me to do, but for reference my more expensive styles can start at +100 USD; the priciest thing I’ve been asked to do was 460 USD and it took me a bit less than a month. I’d work faster if I lived on my own though because I take so long due to all the things I’m made to do for others (a life I didn’t choose).
What type of mediums do you work in? Do you stick to certain genres or themes? Are there any the frustrate you but you still enjoy the process and end result?
I do all my work digitally, but a lot of the time I try for it to emulate a traditional medium, such as making a semi-realistic illustration look like an old oil painting. I used to work on paper and pencil but I found a lot more agility in digital mediums since I can’t really ctrl Z or distort a pencil drawing lol.
I typically like to draw humans and humanoids mostly because it’s what I’ve had more training in. I’m also getting more interested in interior design due to a better understanding of Blender and how you can use it to easily lay out the basis of an interior. As for themes I’m not really sure if there’s any recurring one. I guess if you could count NSF-W as a genre then that’s one I aim at more, lol.
I think any style or theme could be frustrating enough if you get to a tricky part you can’t advance in. I find that mostly one of my styles, which tries to emulate a “poster” or “Marvel comic” drawing is the more difficult one since it’s hard to place a black shadow in a way that doesn’t eat at important parts of the drawing, but the hard-worked result is what makes it worth it. In terms of genre or theme I think I’m kind of fried if I have to be creative and think up intricate designs, for fantasy characters and landscapes alike. I feel like my creativity in general started drying out some years ago.
What compels you to work on art?
Usually fandom and specific existing characters. I feel like that’s the one thing I’ve always looked forward to, since I was really young and found fandoms such as the Avengers. I’m not sure if it’s the want for a sense of belonging, the need to see an idea on paper, or both. I’ve had maladaptive daydreaming for the longest time, thinking about my favorite characters/fictional crushes as an escapism, and this is probably one of the ways I’ve had to turn that into actual scenarios and stories, which is why I also started writing at a young age. It’s stupid to me when people say fanart and fanfiction aren’t valid forms of media, because I think they’re a valid, low-stakes outlet you can have, both to give tribute to your fictional muses, and to improve your art in a way that no one can really critique, since you’re doing it for free and for the love of those characters.
Do you have a process in how you get yourself set up to work on art?
If it’s on a topic or a character/s that I don’t know then I’ll start looking for a lot of references, both appearance and information, especially if this is a commission, just in the case I’m being made to draw something against my terms of service unbeknownst to me. Actually, I’ll look for references even if I know the characters or subjects perfectly, because you never know if taking your last memory of them as reference can turn into a ‘broken telephone’ sort of situation.
When the general idea is laid down in my mind, I’ll open up Blender and set up a scene with OpenSource 3D models. Sometimes this might be time-consuming instead of just starting with a sketch but I find this helpful in order to find the perfect angle and ‘camera’ rotation, something that would be a lot harder to do from zero. After this the process will follow according to the style chosen and will most likely involve sketching 100% of the times.
When do you consider a piece done?
This varies a lot from work to work, but the timing is usually long, because I’m too much of a perfectionist. There’ll be a point where I think the piece can’t be improved any more, and at that point I’ll probably distance myself from my computer for some hours or maybe even a day and come back to the piece, to see it with fresh eyes. If the style is similar to a sketch then the process to the finish line won’t be that much of a problem because it’s a sketch after all, but I’ll pour all my effort when it comes to more complex pieces like a semi-realistic. I think my signature has the final word in it; after I’m done with all the possible FX and filters, when I put it in a piece it’s like putting the bow on a giftbox, it gives me a sense of finality.
Do you seek out other artists to befriend? How do you interact with other artists?
I have to admit that I don’t usually seek up people with the purpose of looking at their art or for them to look at mine. If I find art I like it’s probably because I got it recommended on a page or I was looking at specific fandom tags and a piece from that fandom caught my attention. But when I find artists I make sure to interact with their works and leave them nice words.
What hot topics are making you excited in the art world?
To be honest I don’t follow much of what’s ‘hot’, I usually just do my thing or what clients want to see. I’ve been tempted once or twice to recreate art trends just for the clout but I can never connect with them fully, I feel like it’s too artificial of me. But never say never because I might find one I like in the future.
Is there anything new in the art world you would like to share with other people?
Not exactly new but for those who use Paint Tool SAI and don’t know, there’s a SAI 2 version that’s been out since 2020 and it has a lot more cool features like rulers, perspective grids, Bezier curves in linework layers and more.
Do you consider the environmental impact that art has on the world? This can be in general or your art specifically. Please consider that if you are a digital artist you have an impact with electricity types and server usage.
Not really, unless we’re talking about AI, which I’ll state down below. In terms of what it can do for the world then I think there’s a lot of value in impact works that serve to bring awareness to environmental issues. I did a digital piece for a university assignment last year about the desecration of wetlands and it really stuck to a few of my relatives who weren’t even aware of that issue.
In terms of how digital work affects electricity, I would say it doesn’t, much. The amount of energy a person uses to draw something in their tablet can’t possibly equate to how much electricity big corporations use for their own nefarious purposes, and I feel like this is probably something they’ll use to guilt-trip us into lowering our own usage, just like they do with plastic straws for contamination.
These next set of questions might trigger those sensitive to AI.
What is your opinion on AI?
I hate it, and I can’t even resignedly accept it like I did with NFTs. One of the things I hate the most about it is how it’s changed the vision of non-artist snobs, who are now like “I could have easily made that in 5 seconds with Midjourney,” when you show them an amazing piece made by a real artist. It’s like they said: in the future we’ll build robots to do our jobs so we can make art, but it’s now the future and they’ve built robots that make our art and we still have to do our jobs.
I wouldn’t hate it so much if it was only public domain paintings that were fed into it, or drawings from people who were paid and consented to it, but they had to go and steal hard-work from people and they still have the gall to call those amalgamations ‘theirs’.
I think it won’t stay for too long, though. One of the deterrents of AI even snobs can’t deny is how much electricity and water it consumes. Not even a session, but a single command consumes as much as dumping a bottle of water on the floor or something like that. Over time whoever runs those servers won’t be able to, anymore.
If AI is here to stay, do you think there will ever be a happy medium between AI usage and artists?
I personally don’t think so. I think any self-respecting artist wouldn’t want to get associated with that. Some people try to start the argument that for example being against AI is ‘ableist’ because AI helps people with physical disabilities with the process of their art, except it’s not like that. I’ve seen people without any limbs drawing with their mouth and while I believe comparison is the mind-killer, I think this argument is just plain stupid, because AI isn’t helping you. It’s creating for you, and that’s what has people so angry. It’s not a tool, like 3D posing programs to get pose references, or automatic perspective grids to make the process faster, or the likes of those. I don’t think there’s any value in just stating your idea and just letting something else create it for you, unless it’s to hire a real artist who can see your vision and who you can bounce ideas off of.
It has been suggested that some companies use AI but hire artists to train them. If a company approached you with a business model where you create assets for a hypothetical project but then wanted to use those assets to also train an AI "artist" so they could continue to create with your style, what would your response be?
No, I don’t think I will. I know that styles don’t ‘belong’ to a person in particular, but regardless of that, like I said, I don’t think any real artist would want to go through that. It just serves to perpetuate the idea of AI ever staying for good.
What if you were paid royalties? Does your answer change?
As much as I need money and as tentative as the idea could be, I wouldn’t, because it would be short-lived if I did. You get a hefty paycheck from a place like Outlier.ai for training their machine baby but have to walk out of it knowing you’d be appropriately ostracized by your fellow artists if your name ever came out of that site. And when the money runs out, what self-respecting client would want to hire you after knowing that?
#ask#Q&A#Hope these answers are appropriate lol I sometimes cannot tell the appropriate tone#Also I forgot to say but I would love to be tagged in the article :-))#and also for further questions :-)

Art Questions From xenokhi
Would you be willing to share a little background about yourself? I am interested in what you would share when asked to describe yourself in terms of a person being interviewed about art. What background information do you think relevant to this interview?
I'm self taught like many online artists and I've been drawing since early high school. I got lucky and somehow managed to make art my full time job before turning 18 and it's what I've been doing ever since.
Do you do art purely as a hobby or work or a mixture of both?
Art is mainly my work but I still maintain it as a hobby.
If you do sell your art what is the price range of your work? You can be general here. I am looking for brackets of what type of artists I am working with.
The things people usually commission me for end up in the $75-$150 range on average I'd say.
What type of mediums do you work in? Do you stick to certain genres or themes?
I stick with digital but if necessary I can work in traditional. I also enjoy sculpting with clay and I do 3d modeling. As for themes, I am a furry artist so that's my primary thing but I try to keep in touch with the fundamentals so I can hopefully draw anything to some degree if need be.
Are there any the frustrate you but you still enjoy the process and end result?
I've found 3d work to be difficult and frustrating at times but also satisfying and I almost always enjoy what I came up with in the end.
What compels you to work on art?
It's basically the only thing of significance I've done with my life. It's what I know how to do and I've found a purpose in it: helping people to express themselves via their ideas. I personally know what it is like to grow up with my self expression and self of self stifled. As I've learned, it is essential to our proper function to let ourselves be who we are so helping make that happen is my calling right now.
Do you have a process in how you get yourself set up to work on art?
At this point I just do it, I've cultivated a robust schedule over the years I've been doing this and more or less eliminated the need to feel motivated or otherwise in the right mood. For work at least, it's a job that needs to be done so I will do it.
When do you consider a piece done?
I have a fairly rigid process so after I complete that, it's done. Along the way are checks where I determine if individual parts are "done" like if the background composition is adequate or the anatomy is okay.
Do you seek out other artists to befriend? How do you interact with other artists?
I do not talk to any other artists. This is partly because other artists would often reach out to me first in the past and they were always doing it to network. The people I've interacted with like this have often cared more about the fame part of being an artist than the actual art so I do not care to reach out anymore. The more passionate ones tend to keep to themselves like I do.
Do you consider the environmental impact that art has on the world? This can be in general or your art specifically. Please consider that if you are a digital artist you have an impact with electricity types and server usage.
Everything has a cost, this included. The impact of digital art is quite small I imagine, especially compared to something like the food industry and indutrial emissions. Because of this, I do not conside the emissions of my art any more than the impact of my household and me as an individual in general.
What is your opinion on AI?
Not a fan but I do not think "progress" can be stopped. Like with many things, I choose not to engage with it because I do not have to. It won't stop me from drawing the way I choose to.
If AI is here to stay, do you think there will ever be a happy medium between AI usage and artists?
I think art is what we make it. We as people literally invented the concept so it is whatever we want it to be. I can see a world where it becomes acceptable to the majority to implement AI in some way, just like it's normal to work digitally now. I think back to all the older people that would hear I draw on the computer and dismiss it because the computer "does all the work." People will do what they want and the best thing I think we can do is to be non-judgemental towards each other while also only engaging in the spheres we are comfortable with.
It has been suggested that some companies use AI but hire artists to train them. If a company approached you with a business model where you create assets for a hypothetical project but then wanted to use those assets to also train an AI "artist" so they could continue to create with your style, what would your response be?
I wouldn't do it.
What if you were paid royalties? Does your answer change?
No.

Hello all! My name is Pokichu, or the pseudonym Penelope Apidae, my pronouns are she/they/fae and this is my main account. I’m still experimenting with neopronouns, so I might change these in the future. My posts range from activism to memes to being a lesbian on main. I of course will also talk about my special interests on here because I am autistic.
I am lovingly taken by @professionallylesbian , who has my whole heart. (They helped me proofread the disclaimer at the end of this post!)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have two alts, both of which are for my creative works, mostly art and writing.
@myautismisnowyourproblem is my fandom alt, where I post about various fandoms. I’ll still probably put some fandom stuff here, but I will put art and writing about fandom stuff there.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My special interests:
Psychology (more specifically, human diversity and the stuff that makes people unique. It’s more complicated than that but that’s the gist of it)
Science in general
Content creation, like streaming and animation videos (I do want to do content creation, but my specific interest is in the content creation process itself)
Digital art
Arts and crafts
Creative writing
Fanfiction
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My tags:
#PokichuDraws for original art
#PokichuWrites from original writing
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My current hyperfixations:
MCYT (I’ve been on this one long enough that it might just be another special interest tbh)
Vtubers
Honkai: Star Rail
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And finally, despite what it might look like here, I am very deliberate about separating my online presence from my personal life. I will never share my real name, age, face, or other similarly private stuff. I may tend to overshare, but I have certain boundaries for what I do not want the internet to know. Pokichu is a persona, a representation of myself I use in online interactions as a shield for my own safety and comfort.
I do not mind questions about my identity or other stuff, but I might not answer those questions. I am willing to share certain parts of my life, but I reserve the right to choose what I will be private about.
If you happen to ask a question that is too personal, or broach a personal subject, I won’t be offended. But if you push past my “that info is too private for me to share”, or break known boundaries, I will block you.
I have a small enough online presence that I doubt this disclaimer is necessary, but I am making it because I would rather be safe than sorry when it comes to curating my online space. If you are bothered or offended by me simply reserving my right to privacy, then you aren’t worth my time anyway. I don’t like getting serious, but this is something that is important to me.
I am mohammed Ayyad, I am 17 years old, high school student, I have 7 brothers, including 4 girls and 3 boys and my mother.
Since the beginning of the war, my family and I have been displaced 4 times, each time more severe than the other.
The first is from Gaza City to Khan Yunis, and the second is from Khan Yunis to the shores of Bahr Khan Yunis, then to the city of Rafah, and then to an area called Al Qarara .
My house was completely destroyed , everything is under the rubble my childhood, my memories, my books, and my ambition and Many relatives and friends were killed and life was completely destroyed.
so l please you to help me and help my family collect donations to evacuation the war zone, get out of Gaza safely, and complete my school studies, via my donation link.
Hi, Mohammed! As someone who is also trying to finish her education, I know how important it is for a future. Yours was interrupted by senseless violence, and now you're having to fight so hard for yourself and your family. This is not a burden children should have to carry. Please take care of yourself as well. You're important.
Mohammed's campaign is not verified. He may already be in the process of obtaining one, but I'm wondering if anyone knows the process and how long it would take? Even if he doesn't benefit from it, I'm also considering sending my wonderful, kind Gazan friend Abeer to Tumblr, since her donations over Instagram have been slow. They're slow everywhere, but I know the people of Tumblr are especially passionate about collective aid.
We are broke here on Tumblr. I know. I think that's why we are so willing to make donations even when it affects our personal comfort, but we all have our limits. And because Gaza is far away, it's not like you can just volunteer to show up and hand out water bottles. Money is the most immediate way to provide relief, and while, yes, it's overwhelming to be faced with so much need when you cannot possibly help *everyone*-- hear me out, guys.
It doesn't have to be your money.
Plug into your local community of people who care. Organize. Hold fund raisers. Rub elbows with all those liberals who played the capitalism game. Many are willing to help, and the fund-raisers also serve as a chance to educate the people who just showed up for donuts or to look at art.
And if you can't do that? Just exist. Show up at pro-Palestine demonstrations, as you are able. You don't have to do anything; your presence alone signals that this matters to you. It gets people asking questions. Why are all these people here? What's going on? And if you can be visibly, obnoxiously pro-palestine, even better.
You still need to take care of yourself and know your limitations. But everything is so much easier when you realize you're not alone
Mohammed has his go-fund me on his blog. Donate if you are comfortable, and if you know the vetting process or where to go to find it, please share.
I did in fact never share anything about it.
Ok. So hear me out. Because I will write so much more than usual.
First I need to give you the context that I am absolutely anormal about zombie stuff. I love this typa shit. I am also absolutely anormal about ISAT. Love the game. I am also also really bad at writing dialogue.
Have been thinking about it since october. Started with this thing here:
Mostly because I 1- Love knowing what people would do given this scenario and 2- I have free will so I might as well put my blorbos in it.
Right after this I made it the main point of it that-
Siffrin gets bit. And the AU (can I call it that? I'm not really doing a lot with it) cooked from there. I tend to go making more stuff for it at random times (and mostly on my sketchbook and I religiously don't really show anything from there)
Not that I have a solid idea- It follows the main plot of the game, the island is painfuly not there, Isabeau leaves juvente to go with Mira try to fix things and the party assembles, craft exists, the loops happen and both Loop and Siffrin get stuck in it, the whole nine yards.
I haven't decided which route I go with the Sadnesses- because I can go the L4D2 way and make them being mutations of the virus or just let them be sadnesses as is- Something that came from the sorrow of these that have been zombified (I honestly don't know which route to go because I just like all ideas stated) and are part of the wish King made.
I feel like that is too much text so break for sketch of when Siffrin found out he was infected (I just noticed I drew it flipped lmao.)-
So this is past loops- defeating the King didn't fix things entirely (there are no longer people frozen in time but they still have the zombie issue) so the party is lead to think that they'd need to figure out a cure for the virus (or maybe its not really a virus but I only considered it as such for the time being- Its what I default to. I may change it if a better idea comes to mind, ngl) or wait it out.
And the party doesn't want to wait it out so, with a new member (that has 0 time to be able to lie, to run away or anything at all other than being forced into this- The universe (in this case, ME) loves to see their favorite cosmic joke suffer, doesn't it?) they go look for a way to fix things for real, Odile taking the lead on this part since I do believe (in more 2020~ ages) she would have at least a PHD on stuff like these. I just... Forgot what the thing in specific is.
Though Odile can't just make it alone so the party is now trying to go to Ka Bue to see if there is anyone up to help them make this thing from scratch. Unreal? Probably. But also (just like the game) the only afected region is Vaugarde, so I think it's believable that someone would be willing to help an entire country (even if just for the selfishness of saving a country yourself) and study what the actual fuck is going on in there.
Another break for art of the AU- My strongest soldier(s), Mirabelle (and Isa)
SO. The main thing of the AU is an entire (new) journey in itself, after believing things would be finally over. They have a second Siffrin that just doesn't run away because in this situation it would be asking for it to be a thing they need to deal with later anyway or for death, and I think Loop would be too stubborn to let them go on a entire new journey once they're already forced into the group again. They're not happy about it though. Anyway.
Siffrin gets bit halfway through there. The closest call he had was when defending bonbon that time, but he just (JUST?) lost an eye on the process- Don't ask for specifics I havent. Thought about it yet. So ontop of all the stress they're also trying to keep him sane, and there. And not a zombie. Because they can't lose someone from the party, not after everything. Not now.
And here! Here is where I am mostly at. I love this type of conflict in zombie stuff- Where you know something has to be done but you can't bring yourself to it. Not to a loved one. And considering we have craft here, I think they'd go through reasons on not using wishcraft, Mirabelle using craft to try and keep healing Sif and all painful cenarios one can think. Which brings me to why I don't really cook further; Is it worth it to do what is already done - A virus causes people to turn to zombies - or just try something else. Wishcraft is the entire reason why this is happening and it isn't entirely tied to King so either the universe held his wish in a different way or something else happened and I am a bit stuck.
At one point I'll figure it out, I doubt I will drop the ISAT zombie au idea, I'm too stubborn for that lmao
ANYWAY thats a lotta text so have more art
Like to think that Loop is never looking at them in the eye for a long time- Unless they're lashing out, anger does that to you.
And after the loops Siffrin is probably going thru it with having the party be so careful with him- Specially after craft withdrawal, being almost killed by himself and some time later (being doomed by the narrative) getting bit.
Mirabelle is just already done with it, think she'd get a bit more stressed than already was- The house is still tainted by what King did in a way.
Bonbon always hearing whenever they think they're not as per usual but in this case I just think they'd be more inclined to cling to people. Already lost (not really but feels like it, doesn't it?) a sister, imagine they don't want to lose anyone else.
ANYWAY. Now I'm running off into the sunset, never opening tumblr again because this is the most I've ever talked abotu something I am passionate about and it is scary good bye forever (not really forever but you get it)
I was gonna post something but it is IMPERATIVE that I check if I even shared anything about it here so give me a minute
#pipposketchdump#isat#in stars and time#isat fanart#isat au#isat spoilers#in stars and time spoilers#uhm#uhmmmm#this is so far off of what I usually do#I also thought of doing something like this for the winged au but#husdhsudh#i feel even more afraid of sharing stuff from it#not used to this#but heyyyy i cant get used to talking about shit I like if I never talk about shit I like#ok i am 100% going to stay at least more time out of tumblr#im done now thank you for reading this thing#isat... uh#In supernovas and time orrrrrrrr whateveeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrr#I am not naming it that btu I am noting it down so I can shame myself over it for years to come
[“The compulsive worker, over-worker, or control freak might come to understand their needs in the following ways:
I need trusted friends who I can talk to about what is going on, who I can ask for honest feedback about my behavior, and who can help support me and soothe me when I feel afraid of doing something in a new way. For example, these people might remind me that even though someone else in the project will do this task differently, it is better to let them do it so they can build their own skills and I can use the time for something healing that has been missing from my life. These people might help remind me that it will be okay if I say no to a task or project. These friends can help me give love to the wounds underneath my compulsive, competitive, or controlling behavior, reminding me that I am worthwhile and my value does not hang on what the group does, how much work I do, or what other people think of me.
I need supportive people who can also point out compulsive, competitive, or controlling behavior or ideas when they hear them from me or see me engaging in them. It can be difficult to receive such feedback, but it is truly a gift.
When I get feedback from friends or collaborators about concerns they have, I need to resist the impulse to defend myself or critique the way they delivered their message. This feedback, including any anger they express while sharing it, is likely a sign that others think I am a leader and that what I do matters. They are doing the hard and uncomfortable task of raising a concern because they see me as a person with influence. I can remember that, no matter how it is delivered, this feedback is an investment in me and in our work, and an act of love. I can seek out a friend separately to process the difficult feelings that receiving this feedback brings up. The need to avoid acting out my defensiveness, or taking on a victim narrative, is especially important when I am in a position of privilege of any kind and/or have more developed leadership in the group or project.
If I hate everyone I’m working with or feel like I am going to die or like I have to stay up all night working, this is probably about something older or deeper in my life, not about the current work/workplace/group/coworker. If my heart is racing, if I feel threatened, if I feel like I can’t get out of bed, if I feel like I can’t speak to my coworker or I’ll explode, I am probably experiencing pain deeply rooted in my life history. To get out of this reactive space, I need to devote resources to uncovering the roots of my painful reactions and building ways of being in those feelings that don’t involve acting out harm to myself or others (including the harm of overworking). The first step is recognizing that my strongest reactions may not be entirely or primarily about the work-related situation directly in front of me, and being willing to slow down to explore what is underneath.
I need a healing path for myself if I want to be part of healing the world. What that looks like is different for everyone, and could include individual or group therapy, 12-step programs (including Workaholics Anonymous), exercise, bodywork, spiritual exploration, art practice, gardening, and building meaningful relationships with family or friends. Whatever it is, I have to engage in a gentle way and be careful that it does not become another thing to perfect or to try to be the leader of. Pursuing a healing path can be a way to practice doing things because they feel good rather than because they accomplish something.
I need to stick around. It may be tempting to disappear altogether from a group if relationships have gotten difficult and I am experiencing negative feelings about myself and others. If I want move toward a more balanced role in the group, or even transition out altogether, I need to do so gradually and intentionally. I need to transfer relationships and knowledge and skills that I hold and make sure that my transition is done in a way that ensures support for the people continuing the work.”]
it’s crazy because i always liked haylor but as time passes by and more songs come out i’m starting to realize that they were or potentially could have been soulmates because the way they write about each other is insane, i know theyre both in a relationship though and are happy (at least taylor is) but idk theyre always on my mind.. that “what if” really kills you😭
you don’t have to answer this but what songs do you think are haylor?! in terms of harry and taylor (including unrelated hs1 songs)
i just wrote you a long response to this and tumblr ate it 😭😫 but i'll try to say it again lol
they both have said they're the happiest they've ever been now, so i am willing to trust and take their word on that, and i truly want and hope that for them!
a friend of mine and i were just talking about this, and how fate isn't a strictly determined thing, that because we have agency, we have the ability to make decisions that alter outcome. no one is "meant" to be something or have specific things happen, there are different paths along the way, and things we can control, and things we can't at all. it's more like fate is lightly playing strings in the background, and you follow a melody. so because of that, there's not only "one" soulmate, but potential for love that people find. it's like that quote from the good place, "if soulmates do exist, they're not found, they're made."
taylor found and made hers with joe, and has sustained it for six years, it's the beauty of why invisible string and mastermind can both exist in tandem. they were drawn together by breathless happenstance, and then she made a plan. it's clear from what she's written that that was right for her life. he quiets the noise for her, gives her a place to be safely held, compliments her mind, loves her for who she is as a real person. we know this from what she's written (and now what they've written together). she deserves that.
that doesn't mean that you never wonder about other situations - it's human nature to ask what-if. it doesn't undermine the devotion of what you have at all. it's why she said one of the things that has kept her up at night in the past is wondering what might have been, that was a theme for the album. obviously, if she's sharing that with us, then she shares far more with her partner, what we have is a tiny little cracked window, where they have an entire life and world (and that's how it should be). doubtless they've talked all these things through, and she knows what's okay to share, what's comfortable for both of them. i've seen people act like, "omg he must be upset that she's still thinking about ____," and it's missing the point. he respects and loves her enough to know she does that through her art as a form of processing and healing, he knows it all! he understands. she wouldn't be able to be this raw and vulnerable had she not worked really hard, singularly and with him and with those close to her in her life, to get here, and that's admirable.
so, phew!, to get me thus to question...? she's looking back on that situation and realizing she never got the answers she fully needed, and she still had some things to express and get off her chest, and it turns out, there was some upset and annoyance there (my friend wrote about this too). she just had to ask the questions, and send them out - like a message in a bottle - into the universe.
this is already long so i'm putting the song list under a cut for you <3
songs!!! anything i say is conjecture and fitting little puzzle pieces together in the way i hear them and the picture they paint, full disclosure i could always be wrong.
taylor: from red, we have message in a bottle and come back, be here. there's also the question of the very first night, and i know most people have decided it's about jg and from an earlier point in time, but hear me out - i have trouble believing she'd refer to that relationship as "children running," when the crux of the whole thing was that she was trying so hard to seem grown up and capable, and was feeling adrift and confused and belittled and hurt because of their age difference and the way that caused him to treat her. "i'd pick you up" seems ill-fitting for him too, there's an innocence to it. there's also, well, the mention of the night at the hotel and the polaroid picture, and i'm not saying that means anything, but if i hear a little bit of harry in it instead, well...i know i'm wrong on this one, okay, let me pretend. this song is so sweet that scarf stealer doesn't deserve it shhhh
as i mentioned on 1989: style, out of the woods, all you had to do was stay, i wish you would, how you get the girl, this love, i know places, wonderland. she gave us context and stories for some (i love that quote about style, "we should've just called it, 'i'm not even sorry'," the grammy museum performance of ootw talking about her anxiety, the story about how he drove past her house at night wanting to go in, the green eyes, the sinking ships, the cheshire cat smile...).
i'm going to link you to another post of zoe's too
i have a couple of stray thoughts about other songs but i feel like i should keep them to myself aksfdkljghkl
from midnights, question...?, of course. i know i mentioned this somewhere else, but there's also the fact that question...? borrows a little cadence from keep driving.
harry...there are so many 1D songs that i'll probably forget, but from my memory - perfect, if i could fly, olivia, stockholm syndrome, where do broken hearts go, happily, there's debate about something great because harry wrote it with jacknife lee and gary lightbody not long after taylor wrote the last time with them, and taylor and harry wrote songs (that have never seen the light of day, it's mentioned here) together at that point.
unreleased, there's half the world away, don't let me go, hunger, already home, without you, lay down...that whole spate of demo songs that leaked back in april.
he gave just a little bit of your heart, i love you, and someday to other artists (ariana, alex & sierra, michael buble)
from HS1: meet me in the hallway, two ghosts, only angel, woman, from the dining table
unreleased from HS1: him (which, question...? directly speaks to this situation), baby honey, complicated freak
(a reviewer of fine line said golden was about taylor because of, "i know you were way too bright for me," and i don't think that was his intent, but it permanently stuck in my mind, thank u rolling stone or whoever u were)
when taylor starts with, "good girl, sad boy," it's no joke. when you listen to all those songs, it was a lot of sad boy season.
like i said, this is only glimpses of the story and guessing in putting them together, but it does give us a lot.
