the one thing i have to say tho, even tho i agree with your whole ask, is that snc don't actually fly first class most times, at least from what they have told us. they said the only time they really do that is if they are travelling overseas on a long flight. so for australia… they probably will lol

the only way i would mod for free is if they let me be on the site for free. comp the money i would be spending on there and maybe i would be okay with watching an insufferable chat full of ppl i blocked on twitter and insta.

look old xplrclub had it's issue, mostly bc the app would crash all the time, it couldn't handle having ppl spam in chat during livestreams, and it would just be kinda laggy overall. also, my main gripe, there was no tagging system so if you wanted to see a video, even from a month ago, you would have to scroll and scroll to find it. now times that by the fact they've been on there since 2021. so a lot of videos are basically lost to the test of time lol

but this one… it's definitely better. it has a tagging system. the members feed where ppl can post stuff is kinda nice (but also deeply concerning how many ppl trauma dump and then beg snc to say hi to them in the same sentence) and the content itself is good. but this chat is just not necessary and will cause so many more issues later down the line, i just know it.

and the chat talking about snc's dicks like that is very concerning. look, i get it, we're all human, and sometimes that means having sexual conversations. you wanna do that in dms with another friend of yours, go right ahead. but doing it in a PUBLIC CHAT where SNC CAN SEE YOU is…. very odd behavior. i think some forget that snc see what they post.

Lysithea is probably my least despised in the sense that I only dislike her overall but I don't just outright loathe her? i have no idea anymore tbh lol. i can tell u that the first fic i ever wrote was an episode tag for the mentalist, and that i was probably was somewhere between the ages of 12 and 15???? but i don't remember the specifics that got me into it. i started reading fic (also for the mentalist) when i was like, 11, so, probably because after a year or two i convinced myself to just give it a shot and the rest was history. at the end of the day, though, it probably just comes down to an uncontrollable urge to put that blorbo into a situation!!

🔪 ⇢ what's the weirdest topic you researched for a writing project?

not for a fanfic, but i had to know SO MUCH about a limited model run of a special drag racing car that ford made in the early 1960s (only a few hundred made, very rare, etc etc) due to a personal writing project i started and then kind of abandoned when i was like, 16 lol. i used to know the production run numbers and engine size and the paint colors and everything by memory. it was ridiculous.

if you love something, do it. even if you fear you won't do it well- if you love something enough, you love it enough to do it shitty. that's so much better than not doing it at all. learning to let go of my incredibly creativity-freezing perfectionism is an ongoing task that i am not even halfway thru, so trust me when i say i know how tough that rly is. but you always regret the things you didn't try more than the things you did.

🐚 ⇢ do you like or dislike surprises?

aaaaaah do we still mean in writing lol? or irl? i like a surprise twist or turn in writing quite a lot! i also love foreshadowing and being chased down by the narrative. there's no perfect right answer! as for irl, it depends, but i don't like to get scared or to have plans suddenly changed at the last minute. if it's a surprise outside of those circumstances, then yes, i do!

🧩 ⇢ what will make you click away from a fanfiction immediately?

for me it's either poor formatting (i.e. no paragraph breaks, no quotations, no commas, that kind of thing), or (and i hope this doesn't come off rude in any way bc i know we all make different choices stylistically and are all always learning and growing too!), and this might just be a me thing, but if the pov is from like. a god-mode position where the third person narrative knows what every character is thinking at the same time and it's not just switching povs or like. one character's prediction of another's pov. but like. idk what that is called. it just kind of breaks my immersion to the story i think, so i don't tend to vibe with it!

Hiii!! Honestly what helped me overcome being discouraged when writing is posting on AO3 instead! I’ve never had work on ao3 not have at least a few comments. I’ve been on tumblr since 2011 and I’ve noticed that fanfiction is only popular when the fandom itself is popular (for example with mysme, just when mysme was huge back then & then the revival during quarantine, same with the other few fandoms I’m in). Aside from that, I never rly saw my own work or fellow authors work get many notes here, especially considering the tag system sucks for searching for fanfiction 🙃. If it’s not seen the first few days it’s just not seen at all. Anyway, just wanted to suggest that & to let you know that I appreciate the work you put into this blog. Thank you!

You see, I am on AO3. I've started at some point to carry my stuff over (my one shots at least, I wasn't too sure if the hc format works so well on AO3). I stopped because. Well actually no good reason other than I was not only just copy pasting them over but also trying to fix them a lil bit (and also setting the upload date to when I posted them on Tumblr because I didn't want to clog the mysme tag lmao) so it ended up being a lot of work to my hellbrain. I should actually get on that again, so thanks for the reminder.

Overall however, the outcome on AO3 is the same for me as here. A few hundred hits, less than hundred kudos, and max 5 comments. Except there, the comments aren't from my friends lol

You see. The reason why creators on this site, including me, keep complaining, is because it didn't use to be like that*. Most of us don't want to leave. For many of us, Tumblr is our main platform to post because it's our home.

*regardless on the popularity of the media at the time. If you didn't get many reblogs, people would at least interact (ask games, random convos etc.)

But seeing that you have been here since 2011, I probably don't need to tell you that lol

These posts in particular are about the people that are still interacting, which is plenty actually when it comes down to it! They are about the people that go through a writers blog, reblogging every single piece of art, but leaving just a like on the writing, because they don't understand how "read more" works and I suppose a wall of text is ruining their precious aesthetic (well and because they refuse to understand the tumblr algorithm).

Plus this is the exact thing the post is warning about:

"Appreciate the writers before they leave" (this includes to another platform)

Because yes, the sensible thing to do is to leave to another platform (the most obvious being AO3).

hi anon!!! thanks for the clarity of tone, i appreciate that you’re willing to hear out why people are upset about it all. here’s my take on the whole thing, but there are definitely dissertations to be written about it, and other’s opinions flood the tag rn, rightfully so, so you can go check those out too!

i’d say there are definitely MANY reasons people are upset, so i’ll go point by point that you mention. i definitely think the idea that wtfock stepped back, looked at an opportunity for an all new season, and then said you know what we’re gonna do? make this about the redemption of a white racist and EXTREMELY privileged character, AFTER baiting with moyo and yasmina. the idea of people being redeemed and learning is necessary bc they do, but this isn’t a revolutionary idea, as it’s been conveyed across media for ages. the messaging itself doesn’t even feel..... aimed at the target audience, and if it is, it’s kind of ridiculous to show kato as this girl who doesn’t know better bc.... she’s literally growing up in the 21st century. that’s not to say young people can’t be racist, but young people are exposed far more to global social conditions, ESPECIALLY those who use social media, so the whole thing is not only a little far fetched, but also just kind of a tired and uninventive idea. there are so many tropes wtfock could and are choosing to follow even in just their current storyline that feel.... outdated and ridiculous and like the worst way to tell this type of story to young people. the people in this world who actually need representation to be understood and redemption in the eyes of the society and the audience aren’t skinny white chicks with everything going for them, lol.

moyo was majorly homophobic and misogynistic, and a lot of people have pointed out misgivings about that over the past 2 seasons with the writers of the show themselves. wtfock have a very limited number of poc acting in their show, and so for them to make the active decision to have the one nonwhite character in their boysquad be the overtly homophobic one was racist too, however intentional. it’s why people are so willing to forgive moyo and recognize that... the character himself is being done dirty in those characterizations, but not only that, moyo was not the love interest or even a main character in robbe’s season. we saw that growth in the background, and because robbe was willing to forgive him and understand where he was coming from, the audience themselves were able to do the same. there’s plenty more to be said for this, but it’s worth it’s own post, and i have a couple asks i’ll answer about my opinions later on moyo as a character.

since we don’t know the EXACT trajectory of the season and it’s all just speculation rn.. it’s hard to tell whether or not moyo being the main would fix the whole issue of the plot and writing that’s going on rn, lol. but i can say for sure though that it would mean a hell of a lot more for representation and storytelling if he were. to have a black boy be the main character of a tv show in belgium??? and get to tell his story?? there would be more intrigue and more learning going on on the whole... and if wtfock handled it properly, we could finally get some nuance and a whole actual black person’s pov in this time of worldly political upheaval but also just... daily life and the way he has to wake up every day and deal with the concept that there are people he’ll interact with who genuinely look down on him for his skin color or being biracial in general, maybe the issues that would raise internally about his own identity. we could see HOW moyo’s home life actually is, rather than just how it looks from a rich girl’s perspective, and we could see him work through his own issues of toxic masculinity and misogyny, where some of that came from and how he can tackle it. now imagine all of that, and then take a look at what we ARE being given instead.

the storyline itself is something that has it’s own load of problems, and a lot of them stem from the fact that kato is the main. if kato were the love interest, and we were seeing moyo have to work through this from his own pov... i think the story would end up vastly different than i expect it’s going to. i hope this helped you understand in any capacity, but whether wtfock try to make kato a redeemable character or not, they’ve wasted a very wide open opportunity to actually......... do something meaningful with a story. white people don’t need to be told we deserve redemption, we already are in like 99% of the media out there. it could have been so much more impactful on a young audience to see the reverse. to convey that maybe... sometimes people don’t deserve that forgiveness, and you SHOULD know better, especially in a world with an abundance of information and resources right at your fingertips.

Hi anon! Thanks for telling me. I think I fixed it as I can once again access the files without being logged in or logged in a different account.

And anyway, it makes me happy to be able to share this with other people, because up until a few years ago I couldn't watch a lot of things because the content just wasn't available in my country (some still aren't) and I had a shitty internet connection. I depended on online communities to watch shows I would never get to see otherwise, so I'm very thankful for that!

There's nothing like being able to watch a show along with the rest of the world, honestly. You can follow the shitposts, the clowning, the analyses, the small posts with context, the beautiful creative content or just laugh at the memes that could go unnoticed after a few months or a year when/if the content is made available in your country (I'm not even going into prices of streaming services nowadays lol).

another thing about that incident is that it seems like the fan doesn't think Changkyun and Jooheon undersood them?? (an extension i guess they assumed they don't understand english very well) and that's pretty problematic. it seems to me that when they didn't respond the fan assumed they didn't understand and kept repeating it, as a joke. but they literally did That to the two with the most proficient english in the group... it's rly a mess all around. it's disrespectful through and through

(in relation to that gross “d*ddy” incident from a while ago) ik i feel like some intl fans think korea is a land completely culturally and linguistically alienated/divorced from the rest of the world or something and while cultural relativism is real to some extent... the idea that koreans are completely unaware of ~outside~ things is deeply racist. like mostly white ppl think that diasphoric poc are completely Different from them? when my mum went to the states 15 years ago some ppl literally asked her if there were newspapers in china lol...

i just randomly thought of monsta x as sesame street characters mostly bc i wanna see kihyun and wonho duke it out as bert and ernie (kihyun w/ the waste paper bin on his head and wonho asking 'where's the waste paper bin' and kihyun saying 'ask me that again and look into my eyes') and also minhyuk being elmo tbh...

it’s bc they’re intp x intj they don’t rly... Understand each other with minimal effort/real communication lmao it’s very efficient. both quiet lil darlings who aren’t emotionally That Open but enjoy their own little space together sometimes?? their dynamic is like... they’re weird in different ways but they’re v chill together. u can tell hyungwon is super fond of changkyun like he has this Expression when ck does anything at all.... i think these two rly love each other’s personalities bc they’re both kind/gentle/peaceful types and their overall ?? vibe is just highly compatible... they’re absolute darlings... v soft together... i can’t think of a favourite moment but i rly rly love their birthday messages for each other last year like changkyun’s message for hyungwon was like “ur rly cool bruh ur rly such a great person” and hyungwon’s message for changkyun was rly... just him obviously doting on him n finding him cute jksfdhg i lov them a lot :(

The whole thing about Knetz and wonho's "scandalous" past reminded me of something. As a PSA to those people who are so insistent and pushy that idols aren't allowed to have sex/date/be anything but straight: Fuck all of you. You do not own these people, and if you really cared about them you'd be happy if they were happy. Like tbh, if anyone that famous and busy could also balance out a relationship at the same time, I'd be so happy for them. It really bugs me how all idols are supposed (1/2)(2/2) have this squeaky clean innocent image where they have to look and act a certain way and have these stupid fucking dating bans because once they don't meet up to that image their success suffers. Idols already give up so much privacy, and the last thing they need is millions of people scrutinizing every little thing they do. I don't even know where I started this rant from, but basically, GIVE IDOLS PRIVACY AND DONT JUDGE THEM FOR THEIR PASTS OR FOR BEING IN RELATIONSHIPS OR WHATEVER
