Hellsite Nostalgia Tour 2023 Day 182
Dinosaurs on a Spaceship
“Dinosaurs on a Spaceship”
I honestly could not pick a better episode to watch at the half way point…I also can’t believe I’m (probably technically more than) half way done with this. I WILL put together a perfected calendar at the end of the year (because we know my watch has been FAR from perfect), but I would not recommend liveblogging all three series in one year to anyone. I cannot, in good conscience, do that. ANYWAY
Plot Description: The Doctor battles to save an unmanned spaceship and its impossible cargo of dinosaurs
Why is it almost always ONLY the women of history who have the hots for the Doctor? Why is it Queen Nefertiti and not Not-Detective-Lestrade-From-Sherlock-Because-I-Can’t-Remember-the-Character’s-OR-Actor’s-Name??
Obligatory “Britain has 12 actors” comment because I know just about every actor in this from somewhere else…2 of the big ones from this episode are from [fandom redacted]. Rory’s dad is precious though, and he just got SUPER ABDUCTED by the Doctor
Remember how I said I missed low budget Doctor Who like two days ago??? Yeah…I take it back for this episode specifically. I’m glad they spared no expenses on this one
My little kid, dinosaur-obsessed brain goes brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Jurassic Park still did dinos better
I love that dinosaurs FLYING the ship is absurd but labeling them as passengers, like they exchanged currency for tickets isn’t
Rory can’t catch a break. His dad being freaked out about their circumstances, The Doctor bitching about Brian being there in the first place, but somehow they manage to come together to (unintentionally) make Rory feel inadequate and small
Amy’s love of ancient history strikes again. I love her fangirling over Queen Nefertiti
This episode has EVERYTHING. Egyptian queens, sassy robots, and as the title clearly states dinosaurs on a spaceship
I forgot that it also has Silurians…or maybe HAD Silurians. I expect Silurian tragedy at the hands of [fandom redacted] actor #2/Not-Walder-Frey
That is also my reaction whenever I see a triceratops, Doc
“I’m a Sagittarius…..probably” the wayyyyy I was about to read him just based on that. But like…it WOULD make sense
There is something at least slightly attractive about the Doctor’s anger for people who have been egregiously wronged. When it’s quiet and simmering because this douchenozzle woke up and ejected all the Silurians from THEIR ARK on THEIR SEARCH for a new home
Brian is so unexpectedly useful on this trip
Queen Nefertiti can have little a fling with Not-Lestrade as a treat if she wants
I already loathed this man but now he’s gone and killed the last living triceratops in existence (as far as we can tell)
Ugh he’s so fucking gross. David Bradley is so good at playing absolutely WRETCHED men
Don’t do it Not-Greg!!!! Don’t also shoot the dinosaurs!!!
I love that she played Not-Walder like the chauvinistic idiot he is
Oh Brian, just sipping tea and eating a sandwich at the door to the TARDIS and seeing the whole Earth from there…and that inspiring him to go traveling. I love that for him

OK SO LIFE UPDATE!!! So me and my mom have this tradition of getting coffee together every Saturday morning and since I just turned 15 and I’ve been asking her to teach how to drive since I was 14 she decided THAT SHES GOING TO TEACH ME HOW TO DRIVE EVERY SATURDAY TOO!!!!!AUDHEIEJENSJIWKSB- plus I really wanna get my permit so I can drive around my mom and stuff like a chauffeur AND TOO RUB IN MY OLDER SISTER AND BROTHERS FACE THAT THE YOUNGEST SIBLING GOT THEIR PERMIT when they just turned 15- and brother literally called my mom asking for help on his permit test like 2 or 3 years ago so if she doesn’t help me then that’s just favoritism and she proclaimes she doesn’t have favorites when we all know it’s ME.....jk jk (kinda) and this weekend my mom said she would take me too the bookstore since we didn’t get to go last weekend :( OH AND ON MY BIRTHDAY MY MOM, SISTER, BROTHER, MY SISTERS HUSBAND, AND HIS NEPHEW THREW ME A SURPRISE PARTY!!!! oh and even though I don’t have to tell you this I want to anyway because 1.) I’m ranting and 2.) I’m comfortable with you and I trust you!! Ok so for the couple months almost a year we’ve been living with my mom’s fiancé’s mom, his sister, and his sisters daughter (we nvr get along with each other) and everytime my mom puts in an application for an apartment or a house they never have room or something came up because of STUPID (ง'̀-'́)งCOVID but a week ago my mom put in another application which is also where her best friend who is also my god mother stays at with my god brother and sister (fun fact: my mom has been friends with my god mother since they were in middle school and now there both 43- like WOW and her kids are so nice like me and her son are 2 years apart and her daughter who I’m older than are also two years apart) so fingers crossed 🤞🏽 we get in!! Because I’m not really comfortable at where we are now because his mom is a HARDCORE CHRISTIAN and I’ve been talking to her about lgbtq+, BLM, and other things like that and everytime she says she doesn’t want me to be like the people in the lgbtq+ community because they’re gods enemy but newflash based on what she says I already am because I’m bisexual and this one time I asked her if she didn’t know me would I look like a boy or a girl and she asked me “do you wanna be a boy?” And I said no I was just asking and then she dismissed me telling me to put on some girly clothes and earring when I’m literally having issues with my gender I LITERALLY HAD A PANIC ATTACK AFTER THAT CONVERSATION WHEN I GOT BACK INTO THE ROOM I WAS STAYING IN and I can barybe in the same room with any of them without getting nervous or anxious because I’m not comfortable around them AT ALL, and this one time when I was somewhat comfortable around I told her that I had Social anxiety and depression and she told me to go READ THE BIBLE because if I do then I wouldn’t have that anymore and in my mind I was like: 👁👄👁- what? But anyways enough about that update me on your life and thingz- 🥺 anon
SCREAMS CUTIE'S LIFE UPDATE YES
coffee together every saturday help that is so cute 🥺🥺🥺🥺 anD YOU GET TO LEARN HOW TO DRIVE NOW???????? COOL?????????? and you had a surprise party 🥺🥺
i'm so glad you're comfortable with me and trust me oh my god 🥺 and IKR THOSE KINDS OF FRIENDS ARE AMAZING OMG (tmi my mom has this one friend from when they were in kindergarten and they lived just across each other so they always hung out together every weekend and they're still friends until now and they're 44 🥺🥺 they got married roughly around the same time and had kids nearly at the same time too skfjjs and we still go to visit them every weekend despite our houses being like quite far away lol)
sjdhfjd but that kind of thing? omg HARDCORE CHRISTIAN ?? pls i go to a catholic school (where i know a bunch of lgbtq+ people) and i'm pretty sure the point they're trying to teach in catholicism is to ACCEPT EVERYONE ??? and omg why's she there telling you what to wear and what to do when your own mother is literally fine with it ??????
AND YES THAT'S ANOTHER THING like my teachers once told my parents about me being so quiet and me shaking every time i'm told to present for a group and they just brushed it off, got mad at me when we got home, told me i shouldn't embarrass them like that, then they proceeded to tell me that people who have depression and anxiety are weak and they have weak faith in God so i should start reading the bible and pray instead... i s w e a r...
i'm literally part of the bible quiz group every year and istg i used to read that thing everyday, i go to a catholic school so we're always praying, but i swear when i begin shaking and stuttering like mad in front of people, nothing's helping me there. like ik it does for others, like one of our teachers who ACTUALLY TRIED HELPING ME WITH THIS SHAKING PROBLEM OF MINE, but idk it just doesn't for me and i'm sure it doesn't for others as well...
sometimes it just makes me wonder how some people think that just because this one thing this one way works for them, it'll suddenly work for every single human being on this planet omg 🤦‍♀️
cutie i love you and please don't feel forced to do anything by that godmother of yours... ik you probably aren't, but if that happens again i think you can tell your mother 🥺 like maybe tell her it's making you uncomfy so she could probably talk to her friend about it ?

Summer of Whump #4: Escape
Warnings: drugging, vomit, blood
Villain's face was smacked against the roof of a "Villain Containment Practices" AKA a VCP car. He groaned and elbowed the ruthless Hero who dared to lay hands on him.
"Calm down," the unlucky Hero seethed. "Things will be easier for you."
"But not for you," Villain sassed which resulted in the hero lifting his head and smacking his nose hard.
"Will you mind?!" Villain yelled. He felt blood pouring out of his nose and draining into his mouth. Broken. He groaned, annoyed.
"Serves you right," the hero taunted close to Villain's ear. She pulled on his earlope and clicked the handcuffs into place.
The second that Villain was settled into the VCP car, he started blabbering and wiping his nose against his sleeve.
"Okay," he said between wipes. "So here's how it happened. I was literally walking home, minding my own beeswax, when this homesless guy comes up to me. Now, me? I am very clean and I like my cleanliness. So anyways, this guy comes up to me and now, he is begging for money and I'm like, 'Dude, personal space here'. I mean, of course this guy has no etiquette skills so he attacks me. Now, my wallet was in my pocket. Still is, for your information, you can find some nice cash in there. Anyways, this guy he touches my wallet and tries to grabs it- wait, guys, I shouldn't be being arrested. It was self-defense! Hey, hey!" Villain reached his hand forward and jostled one of the hero's head. "Wakey, wakey," he said. The hero turned and scowled at him.
"Did you hear me?" Villain asked. "It was self-defense."
"But, Villain, did you have to steal that guy's own wallet and hospitalize him?" The hero asked. "We know that he was doing something illegal also, but he being taken care of. So, please, shut up."
"But, but," Villain whined.
"Zip."
Villain threw himself back against the leather seats, scowling himself. This was unfair. Why couldn't he be a normal citizen without being arrested?
He placed a hand over his nose and summoned his healing powers. In a flash of painful light, the nose clicked into place.
"I thought we inhibited his powers," The driving hero mumbled to the other.
"Shoot. Pull over," the other, also known as the sassy one who broke Villain's nose (we'll call him Nosey), hopped out of the car and joined Villain in the backseat with a clipboard.
"So, Villain," Nosey said. "We are going to have to administer a power suppressor. Do you have any allergies to any drugs or medications?"
Villain glanced at Nosey with a "you serious?" expression. He then shook his head.
"Verbal confirmation."
"No you idiot," Villain snarled. "Are you blind in there." He waved a hand in front of Nosey's face.
"Cut the attitude man," Nosey warned and started to recite all of the questions in a bored tone like they have done this one too many times. Villain answered with the same montone tongue, sneering at Nosey like he was trash- which, in Villain's mind, he was.
"Okay," Nosey finished and plucked a hypodermic needle from their pocket. Villain watched suspiciously as they filled it up with a clear liquid from a small bottle. It was something actually from a pharmacy, he could tell. He reached forward and plucked the bottle out of the other's hands with a sharp, "Gimme."
Villain quickly skimmed over the words, stopping at each -zephines or -pams with a confused look on his face.
"What's in this?" Villain asked. Before Nosey replied, they jabbed the needle into Villain's neck and administered the contents.
"Hey!" Villain exclaimed, pulling the needle out. Almost immediately, he was hit by a cold sensation.
"Hey," he mumbled drowsily, his eyelids drooping. "Did-did you drug me?"
Nosey grabbed Villain's chin and forced the Villain to look at them.
"Of course, you were quite intolerable," then they reached behind them and pulled out another needle. The power suppressor.
Nosey easily emptied the drug into the vein on Villain's wrist with a satisfied smile at Villain's shock. They then unbuckled Villain and helped him lay down on the seats.
"Sweet dreams," Nosey said right before the darkness engulfed Villain.
Villain woke in a damp room, shivering out of his skin. He groggily looked around, found nothing of interest, and closed his eyes again. He vaguely recognized that the drug was still running through his system- whether it be the sedative or the suppressor, he didn't know which. He also knew that he should take advantage of the chance to rest while he had it.
That "chance to rest" actually became only five minutes. The damp coolness of the cell was replaced by a gust a warm air. Villain didn't care, or didn't realize, that Hero was standing in front of him.
He did open his eyes, however, when he heard Nosey's pipsqueak voice, "I thought he was awake."
"He is probably still drugged up," Hero said in her calm, orderly tone. "Oh there he is," she ran her fingers over Villain's cheek, checking for any type of reaction. Finding none, she stepped back and whispered something to Sidekick that Villain couldn't make out.
His head felt like it was stuffed with cotton, but being the positive guy he was, he decided on cotton candy. Make the situation a little better.
He closed his eyes again, even though Nosey and Hero were standing right there and talking about him. He picked up bits and pieces:
"Move him to a warmer cell, one with a bed," came Hero's assertive voice.
"He doesn't deserve it!" came Nosey's ear-shattering chirps of a voice.
"He is laying on the ground in a cell, hardly able to keep his head from rolling around. Make him comfortable. He needs the rest for what's about to come."
Even though Hero's voice was indeed calming, it still made Villain's heart pump faster. They were going to so something to him. He frowned weakly- hardly a frown in the hero's eyes. He didn't know why, but it sounded like they were going to do more than just hurt him.
Kill him, or maybe do tests on his healing powers.
Villain whimpered loudly which brought the heros attention. His eyes were squeezed shut, unable to look at them. A wave a fear came over him when someone's (hopefully not Nosey's) arms wrapped around him and lifted him from his spot. He squirmed, trying to break free.
"Shut up," came a sing-song voice. It made Villain freak out, kicking and panting. It was Nosey. Nosey was touching him.
"Sheesh," Nosey exclaimed at the outburst and readjusted Villain so that they (Nosey) was much more comfortable, but the newly formed position stressed Villain's limbs.
"W- w," Villain croaked. "... taking?"
"Aw look at you, so out of it and quiet. Hardly able to form a complete word," Nosey gave a fake pouty face that Villain didn't even register.
Sleep once again tugged at him, but he tried to keep his eyes pried open. He would never forgive himself if he fell asleep in Nosey's arms.
Suddenly, after what seemed like an eternity of floating through the air, Villain was sat down on a bed. Without any resistance, he allowed his limbs to be moved around and a thick, warm blanket to be draped over his body.
He closed his eyes, relishing the warmth and inviting comfort. He let out a few grumpy mutterings as the drug took hold once again and he fell into a deep slumber that only time could wake him from.
Nosey left immediately after tucking Villain in, if they even called it that. More like heeding to their boss's orders, but they hated it. Hated the way that Villain was being treated like a hero himself.
Hero entered the warm cell that Villain was placed in. The room was much nicer than the damp one, with a bed, light, and heating unit, but still a cell nevertheless.
She walked over to Villain's sleeping figure and traced his cheek with her long, unkept, fingernails. He didn't stir, which was good. Very carefully, she lifted the covers off and placed her hand on his chest.
And then she worked her powers, digging into Villain's conscience. It was foggy, which was understandable, and very difficult to navigate through, but she still found her destination.
The truth about what happened.
She watched the scene in her head. An imposter homeless man stalking up to Villain, asking for cash. Villain refused, beginning to walk away, but the homeless guy took out a gun and smacked the back of Villain's head. Villain then wheeled around and shoved the man against a nearby wall, giving him a round of punches. As Villain performed his beating, the homeless guy reached around and took Villain's wallet out. Villain quickly finished his work with a devastating punch that left the man in a heap. He then swooped down and grabbed his stolen wallet with a shrug.
Hero gasped and stepped backwards, quickly making sure that Villain didn't wake up. He didn't, so Hero put the blanket back over him and left the room.
As she strolled down the hallway, she thought of the feeling that she was getting from Villain's memories. Innocence. Villain was innocent. Not that he didn't do the extravagant illegal works that he regularly took part in, but that he had no idea that what he was doing was wrong.
He was misguided.
It took Villain some time to completely recover from the suppressor, but when he did, boy he felt like he could fly to the moon and back.
The downside of having healing powers was that you needed them for everyday function. They run your body systems like your nervous system does. It powers them like food and water does, so when those were taken away, Villain's body went on momentarily shut down. Hopefully Hero realized this before she decided to drug him again.
One day, Hero entered his cell as he was picking through breakfast. He had no recollection of Hero's impediment of his memories only days before.
"Villain," Hero cleared her throat and eyed Villain's plate in curiosity. "It's not poisoned," she laughed, wondering why he wasn't eating much.
"Not hungry," Villain replied, glancing at Hero for a brief second.
"You need the energy. We are going to start, uh, well, work today."
"Work?" Villain asked, absent-mindly.
"Yes. You are a prisoner," the words hurt Hero almost as much as she was the one receiving them. He really wasn't a prisoner. He was going to get reformed, learn morals, and hopefully become a hero, which was a long shot, but one should always hope for the best.
Hero sat on his bed as he finished lapping up the breakfast, which took a good thirty minutes. Hero was patient, however. Villain would need time to be assimilated into a hero's society. Spending some time in silence, watching him eat was insignificant compared to what he was about to do.
Two days later, Villain was throwing up in a toilet. Throwing up, not due to sickness or eating something funny, but from stress and exertion. The exercises that the heros made him, along with all the other "reforming" villains, were insane and taxing. Not to mention the mental strain with all of the "moral speeches" and assessments. Mulitple choice questions like: Which is the right thing to do when you see someone being beat up? A.) Call the cops or heros; B.) Stop the fight; C.) Talk them out of it calmly; or D.) All of the above. Villain put down B.
He failed the test.
Villain rested his forehead against the cool toilet seat. He had to get out of here. Runaway and leave. If only two days led up to the this, Villain glanced down at the bloody vomit in the toilet, then what would two weeks result in? Power suppressing? Villain shuddered. He couldn't go through that again.
So, Villain made the decision right then and there, infront of the toilet, that he would escape tonight and leave the city.
Forever.

fly away with you
an ezra x reader fic~
rating: m for smut; virgin reader; some violence
word count: 6,780
summary: Waking  up with no memory after a head injury, you find yourself in the presence of your rescuer - a handsome stranger named Ezra.
a/n: I AM SO SORRY i’ve had this fic like...finished but i just never got around to posting it. i had it broken up in chapters, but i just decided to post them all here w/ breaks to signify where the chapter would have ended. (im also adding the first two parts - so if anything seems familiar this is why!)
Tumblr media
Ringing. There’s a loud ringing in your ears. Your vision is blurry, and that ringing won’t stop. You can’t hear anything else, and you’re not sure what you’re seeing. The color brown and green seem to blur together. What happened? Did you hit your head?
Reaching up to touch your temple, you feel wet. Your hair having been matted down with something sticky. Pulling your hand away, you look at it. Not that it does any good because your vision is still blurred. But there’s enough red on your fingertips to know it is blood.
Suddenly you smell it, your blood. And dirt. And earth.
Something else is mixed in, maybe smoke? Something in the air is foul.
The air.
You panic. Where’s your helmet? How long have you been breathing in this air? It’s the air you smell that’s foul. What if it’s toxic? Frantically you try to get up, but you can barely get your legs under you. You’re still too dizzy.
When your vision finally clears, you see your helmet on the ground next to you. There’s a large crack leading to a hole. Shards are everywhere. Some have blood on them, and you assume this is where your head injury is from. But upon further inspection, you see blood on the rock nearest you.
What happened?
It’s still foggy, but you try and retrace your steps from the day.
You had been with your cousin, whose whereabouts now you have no idea. It wasn’t even your choice to come along. But he claimed that your hands were the steadiest, and you’d be best for the harvesting. You had no idea what he was even talking about. You only agreed because your home world is the last place you want to be right now. And hey, he said he’d pay you so why not?
The ship ride over was a nightmare. It was smooth sailing quite frankly, but you’ve never been a fan of space travel. You like it on the ground. Though at the present moment the ground is covered in your blood, what a day it’s been. And you can barely remember it.
You do remember harvesting a couple of those things, you can’t even think to remember what your cousin called them. It wasn’t easy but it wasn’t hard either. You did just fine.
You also remember some arguing? Something was happening? There were these other people?
It’s starting to come back to you, but this air is getting to you. How long have you been walking? Are you even going in the right direction? You feel dizzy again and things are starting to spiral.
Then everything goes black.
A voice this time brings you out of your stupor. You can’t make out what they’re saying, but you can make out it’s a male voice. It’s not your cousin, this voice has a thick accent.
You blink several times to clear your vision again, and you take in your surroundings and this stranger.
First you notice you’re inside laying on a cot of some sort. Everything in the room is an olive green. An ugly yellow light shines overhead. It’s very dim. The space is small, it seems to be a large tent. There’s medical supplies and strange photographs on the wall. Where is this?
The man is sitting near you in a metal folding chair. He’s got no choice but to sit close to you, there’s not any room in this area.
He’s in a suit not unlike your own. His face is kind. His voice is deep, but nonthreatening. Light scruff dusts his cheeks and jaw, and his eyes are pleasant. There’s a small blond streak in his brown hair. And a haggard scar on his cheek. His kind eyes and kind smile almost seem out of place next to that scar.
He’s still talking, but you can’t make out what he’s saying. He’s gesturing with his hand. Just one. It’s only then you realize he’s missing his right arm. You feel dizzy again. What if this man is dangerous? Or did he just lose that arm in some accident?
You reach up to touch your temple again, and you feel cloth. A bandage has been wrapped around your head. And you notice, other than a slight headache, you’re not in any pain.
“Where am I?” you wonder aloud. Your throat is so dry your voice croaks.
“At last, the lady is with us!” the man speaks and this time you understand him. His voice sounds nice. That accent is so strong. “Alas, I must admit, I myself do not know where this is. But I was out and about on my harvest when I saw you lyin’ unconscious on the ground. You were gaspin’ for air. So, I took it upon myself to bring you to shelter and here we are.” he gestures with his arm while he looks around the room. That ugly yellow light shines on his face, and suddenly the light is not so ugly on his tan skin.
“Thank you,” you tell him sitting up a little. You’re still feeling dizzy, but you feel safe. “What happened?” you think aloud again. And where is your cousin?
“I heard what sounded like gunfire off in the distance,” he explains, “that’s how I came to find you.”
“I was with my cousin; did you see anyone?”
“I am afraid I only saw some bodies, miss. You were the only one I saw alive.”
Your cousin, and whoever attacked you must have been near where you first woke up. But in your daze, you started walking and missed the bodies entirely.
You were warned this was dangerous work. Sniffling, you wipe your nose with the back of your hand. Grief and shock are setting in. Your cousin is gone, and your harvest.
“I’m stuck here,” you whisper.
“Nonsense,” the man smiles, it’s a warm smile. He seems so kind. You want to trust him. You may have no other choice. “I could not in good conscience leave you behind. You have suffered a mighty fine wound to your noggin, and your poor lungs have breathed in this nasty shit air we got around here.”
He is talking so fast that you can barely keep up.
“Now, I’m sure you’re a-wonderin’ if you can trust me. And right now, little birdie, I’m all you’ve got.”
In any other situation, if a stranger called you a pet name, you might recoil. But he says things so casually, you don’t feel any malice or perversion behind it.
“You can help me harvest, and I can get you outta here. There is my offer plain and simple. You can surely decline, but if your cousin is gone, my condolences. And you have no way to get home.”
Home. You don’t want to go home. You don’t want to stay here, but you don’t want to go home.
“What’s that?” he leans forward, his eyes squinting. He’s trying to hear; you didn’t realize you’ve just said that out loud. “Where are you from?”
“Zulara,” you mumble.
He winces, clenching his teeth, “I do not blame you one bit for not wantin’ to head on back to that planet. I am currently residin’ on Anvarvis V, and I’d be glad to take you along with me.”
You sit for a moment weighing your options. You’ve heard good things about Anvarvis V. or was it IV?
“We’ll split the harvest 50/50?” you ask.
He nods.
“Ok. It’s a deal,” you nod and stick out your hand.
“Alright,” he grins. “I’m Ezra, what can I call you?”
 XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
And that’s how you began a partnership with Ezra. You worked well together. Tuns out you were really good at the harvesting part, and Ezra’s wit and charm made him a good salesman. He brokered deals and sold the product you’d harvested for a lot of money.
You’ve been so busy; you’ve not even gone to his home planet yet. But somehow you liked this life with him. There’s space enough of his ship for you, and you quite enjoy his company.
Truth be told you enjoy his company more and more each passing day. Your cheeks warm now when he calls you “little bird.” Your heart leaps into your throat if he ever touches you.
That first week with him he touched you a lot. Yes, okay he was checking the bandage on your head, but his fingers would graze skin and he was standing so close to you.
That’s when it first started you think. Being so close, seeing his soft lips surrounded by a dark stubble. His gentle brown eyes looking over your wound.
Maybe you were just lonely. Or maybe it was sharing such a small space with your rescuer. But you had a crush that only seemed to grow.
It started to suffocate you being so close to him and not being his.
The two of you fell into a natural routine and you grew accustomed to seeing him shirtless. That first time seeing him without a shirt almost sent you over. You ached to touch his olive skin. He looked so warm. You had to force yourself not to stare.
He thought you were looking at his right shoulder, where his arm used to be. And he began to ramble on about how it happened. You were embarrassed because that’s not what you were looking at, but you listened to his story all the same. He was opening up to you.
Ezra has the gift of gab, and he talks nonstop. But if you ever have anything to say, he listens with a deep interest. You’ve never felt so heard before. He never talks over you. His constant talking if often stories or little tidbits of trivia, but after that night of him opening up about his arm, things changed.
He was almost always in a good mood, but when he couldn’t complete a task due to his arm, he’d be a little grumpy and frustrated. But after telling you what happened, he let you help him without protest.
Maybe he got the feeling he could trust you back.
“Thank you, little bird,” he always said. And the last time he said it, you know he saw your cheeks turn red.
You figure at some point he’ll ask, or you’ll admit your feelings. You’re not sure which, but both options scare you. You’ve never done this before.
Back at home, you spent most of your life in school or working. There was no time for relationships, as much as you wanted one. You read stories of lovers, you kept them hidden under your mattress. The want was there, but no experience to fulfill that big question in your mind of what it’s like.
What it feels like to be loved by someone, to be held. You always were a little shy about the sexual parts of the book, yet those were the parts you couldn’t tear your eyes away from.
“What are you thinking about over there?” Ezra’s voice cuts in. A deep blush stains your cheeks. You’d been remembering of a story you’d read where a man pleasures a woman with his mouth. You look at Ezra’s mouth and feel your stomach drop and pray he can’t read your mind.
“Nothing,” you chirp at being caught.
“From that look on your face, I’m gonna wager a gamble and say it’s definitely something clanking around in that head.”
Scrambling, you try to think of anything to change the subject. He’s watching you squirm, and he’s delighted in it. Maybe it won’t be too hard after all to tell him if he can already see it.
“When’s the next sell?” you ask, nibbling the skin off your bottom lip.
“Pretty soon,” he replies. “I will head out soon. Won’t be gone long. Will you be alright to wait here until I make a triumphant return?” he grins.
You nod, returning his smile. You feel a heat pooling in between your legs. You shift a little in your seat trying to relieve the pressure. As soon as he’s gone, you’ll do something about it.
Two nights ago, you touched yourself thinking of him. That was the first time. You’d seen his bare ass when he was exiting the shower area. He had to have known you might see, and you couldn’t decide which thought thrilled you more. But the image of him naked was seared into your mind. And that night while he slept soundly, you touched yourself - wishing it were him.
You’d come up with a dirty fantasy, one you will play out again as soon as he leaves. And he can’t leave soon enough.
Normally, you’d go with him. But this buyer is a familiar one and can be trusted. You’re not worried about Ezra taking care of himself in a fight. He’s been in plenty of a scrap or two.
But if you’re honest, your brain is so clouded with the thought of getting a release you’re not worried about him in the slightest.
The thought passes in your mind you don’t know how long he’ll be gone, so you elect to leave your pants on. You lay down on your bed in your little corner of the ship.
The main hanger is around room, your beds are on opposite walls but still in the same room. So, you can see his bed from yours, and you consider going over to his bed, but you’ve already got your hand down your pants thinking about him on your bed.
You begin to tease yourself and you’re already wet from your own imagination. You think of him naked. What he looks like from the front. What he must look like when he’s hard for you. You think of his lips, and how his hand feels. What they must feel like on sensitive skin. You think of his stubble scraping your thighs. How good his long thick fingers would feel like inside of you. How he’d be gentle taking you for the first time.
Your thighs shake and you clench around your fingers wishing it were him.
The release hits you hard, and you gasp. It echoes through the ship. Your breathing is heavy but beginning to calm, when suddenly you hear:
“Well hello there little birdie!”
 XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Horror floods through your veins and your heart is pounding in your head. You’re still coming down from your high, while fear spikes within you. Your eyes are wide, and you’re frozen staring at him. Your mouth is hanging open, and his mouth is curved in a playful smirk.
When tears begin to fall from your eyes, his expression softens completely.
“Little bird, I-,” he sticks his hand out trying to demonstrate he didn’t mean to embarrass you, but it’s too late. Tears pouring down your cheeks you run into the bathroom chamber and push the button to close the door harshly. It hisses loudly, and the moment it closes you sink to the floor. Cheeks red with embarrassment.
In those books you’ve read, maybe the character wouldn’t have cared. And would have let the man know what she was doing. But this just isn’t how you wanted this to happen. As much as you do want Ezra to know you want him. The shock of the moment startled you.
Ezra outside in the main hangar is uncharacteristically quiet. You can hear him rummaging around. From the sound of it, he’s taking off the bulky outer suit. It takes him a moment since he only has the help of one arm.
He’ll be sitting down on his bunk and unfasten the clips and zippers. He grits his teeth sometimes, other times he bites his lower lip. You tease him about the different faces he makes when he’s concentrating on something.
Deciding to clear your mind further, you turn on the shower. For a moment you hope he doesn’t need to take one after being outside, but you imagine he’s letting you have your space for a moment.
While you shower, you try to decide what you’re even going to say.
“Hi Ezra, I was touching myself thinking about you.”
Well. That might not be a bad way to start. But that feeling of nerves hits your gut. What if he doesn’t want you back? What if he does want you?
You mull this over in your mind and wash yourself clean. Normally the thought of being naked in here while he’s out there has sent you a thrill. Now you’re even more aware of him.
You decide you do want him. But you don’t know where to start. Him seeing you is one way to break the ice.
Gathering your courage, you wrap a towel around yourself and exit the bathroom into the main hanger. Your eyes fix upon him, and every nerve is on fire.
As expected, he’d changed out of his suit. He’s sitting on his cot in comfortable pants, a worn black Henley, and some socks. His hair is sweaty, but it’s sticking up in multiple directions from obviously running a hand through it. His right arm sleeve is tied in a knot near his shoulder to stay out of his way. He’s got something propped up on his left knee, and he’s practicing his hand strength with his left hand. He pauses when he sees you, he doesn’t speak.
He’s waiting for you to say something first. He can read the terror in your eyes as you step closer. Giving you full attention, he frees his hand, and watches you approach him slowly.
When you’re right in front of his spread legs, he reaches out a hand to grab yours.
“You doin’ alright there little bird? You are tremblin’ like a leaf on a tree with strong winds blowin’ every which way.”
You open your mouth trying to think of what to say. You’d forgotten your entire plan you’d cooked up in the shower. Now that you’re here in front of him and he’s looking at you with those soft eyes, your mind is blank.
You almost wonder if you should just drop the towel and climb on him, but you can’t help but want some romancing.
“Say what’s on your mind little bird, I see the wheels turning in your head.”
“I’m sorry you had to see that,” is all you can think to say. But are you sorry? You don’t know what’s going on.
“I’m not,” he grins, but the grin softens, and his eyes are gentle. He stands and presses his palm to your cheek. Shaking a little from the touch, you lean into his hand. “But I am sorry that my presence startled you so, and that I saw such an intimate act without your permission. I admit I was only present for the uh, grand finale as it were, but on my honor, I will not speak of this again if you would prefer it.”
Your cheeks darkened as he spoke, and you can see the look in his eyes. It’s a gentle attraction.
“I-” you start but only blush deeper under his gentle gaze. His eyes are big, he’s listening intently.
“I understand your profound embarrassment, but there is nothing to be ashamed of seeking a fine release such as that. If I may say little bird, I’m only sorry I was not the one to give it to you.”
Your eyes widen at the last sentence. You swallow hard.
This is it.
“You want me?”
“I do little bird. I have for a quite a spell now. You are, simply put, the sweetest thing I have ever had the pleasure to know, and you have brought a light into my dark life I did not know I was needin’.”
His hand is still on your face, his thumb brushes you bottom lip.
“I want you too,” you give him a shy smile which he returns, “only I don’t know what I’m doing.”
“You surely seemed to know a few moments ago,” he winks.
“Ezra,” you groan and bury your face in his shoulder.
“My sincerest apologies,” he teases, “I already broke my promise.”
He’s trying to make you laugh, which it does. And the two of you share a moment of laughter before you pull back to look up at him again.
“I’m serious though, Ezra. I don’t know how to do this. I’ve never-”
“Never what?” he repeats, thumb rubbing your flushed cheeks.
“I’ve never even been kissed,” you tell him.
“Well, little bird. It would seem the honor has been bestowed to me to teach you the lovely ways of liplockin’.”
“What do I do?” you whisper, which he seems to find amusing.
“You know something, I have never once been in situation quite like this in my lifetime.”
That coaxes a smile from you, and you’re already feeling relaxed.
“I can’t say that I have either,” you laugh.
“First step, is to close those pretty little eyes of yours.”
You close your eyes, and smile, you trust him. You think back to when you met him all those weeks ago when he saved your life. You certainly didn’t imagine this happening then.
“Now, tilt your head just a little,” he pushes a little with his hand guiding you. “And open that mouth of yours, just a smidge.” He pushes down your bottom lip with his thumb.
His voice stops, and you feel his breath on your face. He smells like mint and sweat. You decide it’s a good smell.
You feel the tip of his nose first press against the top of your cheek. Then his lips gently press against yours. His tongue just barely touches your lips. His stubbly chin and upper lip scrape on your skin in a way you didn’t know you’d love this much. His hand holds your face gently, and what he doesn’t say, or can’t say during this kiss, is he wishes he could wrap his other arm around you.
Your knees buckle, and you let go of the towel that’d you’d been holding on to so tight and mold your body to his. A strong thigh is in between your legs, your hands cup his face and you pull away gasping. Your heart is fluttering.
He’s slow to open his eyes, the smile splits his face before his eyelids even flutter open.
“Now that,” he licks his lips, “was simply divine.” He leans in and places a couple quick pecks to your lips getting a laugh from you.
You take a step back, and the towel is going to fall. And you were going to let it. But much to your surprise, his hand stops it by pressing his hand against your chest, keeping the cloth from exposing you to him.
“Hold on now,” he breathes. “That little heart that’s fluttering under my hand has surely had enough excitement for one day. And as much as I would love to see that body of yours, I am not wanting to take you to bed in this dirty old ship. I would rather take you home. Since I am unfortunately missing a tool of the trade, I am not experienced in taking lovers into my bed with ol’ lefty here. It’ll be a learning experience for us both little bird. You alright with that?”
You nod, putting your hand over his on your chest.
“Then let’s get you home.”
 XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Your head is pounding, and you can see him. Your cousin. It’s like you’re on the outside looking in. You see the clearing of trees and two men with your cousin. It’s a standoff, everyone is frozen. There you hear a sharp crack somewhere in the woods, causing the men to take fire. One man shoots your cousin, the other steals the harvest from your cousin’s dead hands. Then that man is shot, he killed his own partner and took the harvest from his hands. He turned around to face you, and you saw his face.
It was Ezra.
With a sharp gasp, you jolt awake. Sweat is on your brow, your heart is racing, and you feel sick to your stomach. Panic sets in because you can’t remember where you are.
Looking around you realize that you’re home, with Ezra.
After your kiss with him, he got the ship ready and punched in the coordinates to head home. His home, but now it would be yours. You expressed to him your apprehension of space travel, and he took down the med pack to give you a medicine to calm your nerves.
“Fear of flying is not uncommon,” he’d told you warmly with a kiss on your cheek.
After the flight and landing, he gave you another medicine to help your lungs adjust to the air of this planet.
You were so nervous, but full of excitement! You have a new home with this wonderful soul.
The planet is gorgeous. The ship landed out the outskirts of the city. It’s nighttime so you can see it’s all lit up, and it’s blue. Every light is a twinkling blue.
“It’s beautiful!” you’d gasped. Ezra was proud to show you his home.
He was not originally from this planet; this is where he lives now when he isn’t prospecting.
He owns a small house is near the outskirts. He could afford a city apartment if he wanted, but he preferred living out away from the hustle and bustle of city life. He likes his view of the trees from his living room, which are also blue.
His house is humble. One bedroom, one bathroom, a quaint kitchen, a small table, and a sitting area. The shelves and walls are covered in artifacts and trinkets from other world’s he’s visited. You love it. It feels like a lived-in home.
“We will have to share this bed unless you want me to take the couch?” Ezra tells you when you collapse onto his bed. It’s been too long a day with all the space travel.
“I don’t mind,” you tell him, and he grins easily.
“No gettin’ to business tonight little bird. I gotta rest, you do too.”
You nod, you’re too tired for that. Though if he wanted to, you wouldn’t have said no.
You fell asleep that night with his body close to yours.
He’s still close by when you wake up from your dream.
“Little bird?” he asks waking up, rubbing his eyes with his hand. “You alright?”
You scramble out of the bed to get away from him. Your heart is beating so fast.
“It was YOU,” you gasp, tears are beginning to fall.
“Me? Birdie, I do not have a damn idea what on this planet you are referring to.”
“You shot and killed my cousin! I saw it in my dream!!”
He sits up and tries to calm you down.
“Little birdie-”
“Stop calling me that!” you cry. You hug your arms around your waist.
“Look at me. Look at my face.” He waits til you look at him, there’s no joke or smile on his face. His eyes are wide, and you can tell he’s upset you’re upset. “I did not kill him. I didn’t even have my gun with me when I found the bodies.”
You think back to when you first met him, and what you can remember from then, he didn’t have a gun on him.
“But it looked so real,” you sniffle.
“I had hoped this would not happen to you, but one of the side effects of the medicine I had given you is nightmares. You’re on a new planet, in a new place. It would not be a surprise to me if you had weird dreams. Now as to your cousin, I do not think you will ever uncover the mystery of his death. I can recall to you what I saw again if it will ease your mind.”
You sniffle again and nod.
He tells you what he remembers, and you do trust him. But that dream still felt so real.
You had been finishing up a harvest when your cousin went to look for another. Your memory is hazy after that.
Ezra fills in the gaps based on what he saw. He’d seen two bodies; one was your cousin and then another man. Your harvest was gone, and there were footsteps leading in another direction. Ezra, not wanting to get into it with this guy, went the opposite way. Which is when he found your shattered helmet and blood. He followed your footprints which led him to you.
“So, I killed my cousin,” you bury your face in your hands, sitting down on the bed.
“You are making less and less sense,” his eyebrows crease.
“You said there was a large branch and I must have tripped, so me tripping sounded the alarm causing the gunfire to go off,” you being to cry into your hands.
Ezra scoots closer to you to wrap and arm around you. He holds you close to him and kisses your hair while he shushes you.
“That was a whole tricky situation and no one’s fault. I have been in a sticky situation like that before and it would seem that people who are trigger happy need no cue to fire away. You are not at fault. Besides, if all this had not occurred, I might not have met the love of my life.”
You look up from your hands, tears still in your eyes.
“What?”
“You heard what I said,” he kisses the shell of your ear.
Crying now tears of joy, you throw your arms around his neck and kiss all over his face. He topples backwards, laughing the whole way down.
“I love you too,” you say between kisses. “I’m sorry I accused you of murder,” you laugh.
He laughs, rolling over so he’s on top of you. He kisses your face and dries your tears. You start to writhe under him when you feel him beginning to harden on your thigh.
“What do you say to some breakfast and then we come back to this bed huh?”
Feeling a little bold, you reach down to cup him through his sleep pants. He gasps out in surprise and buries his face in the crook of your neck.
“Why leave?” you ask, unsure of what to do, but you like touching him. You continue to, until your stomach rumbles loudly. He raises an eyebrow teasing you, even though you still have your hand around his cock. “Fine,” you laugh, “breakfast first.”
 XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
While Ezra makes breakfast, you look around your new home. Since the house is small and his voice carries, you ask him questions about different objects, and he rambles on from the kitchen.
There are photographs of him when he was younger, those are your favorites. You’re looking at one particular photograph, when he had both arms and no blond streak. He looked like a completely different person.
Your thoughts are torn away when you hear him call your name.
“Could you reach that spice for me off the shelf?” His one hand is too busy to stop and reach. “Just set it down on the counter there,” he nods. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome,” you smile and wrap your arms around him from behind. Kissing his cheek, he hums. “I’m sorry I’m acting so strange, I think I’m a little nervous,” you admit kissing his shoulder blade.
“Well birdie, it is no small feat to be joined in a union with another person in such an intimate fashion, especially when one is not experienced. It is a lovely thing but can be an overwhelmin’ experience. I am glad to assist and ease the knot in your belly of nerves.”
“I love the way you talk,” you smile kissing his shoulder again.
“And I quite love the way you are holdin’ me right now.”
“I’m sorry again about this morning. I’m sure that’s not the morning you had in mind.”
“No to worry. Grief and change do a wonder on your mind. I know that from losing my arm.”
“Tell me how you got that blond streak in your hair,” you murmur and lean your cheek against his shoulder.
“Now that is an interesting story!” One of which he tells for the rest of the morning. And when he’s done, you’re still not sure what exactly happened. But you laughed and all but forgot about the nerves in the pit of your stomach.
So much so that when he stands and reaches out his hand for you, you’re not sure what he’s doing.
“You ready?” he asks, motioning his head toward the bedroom. Your heart skips, but you nod, yes.
He leads you back into his room, and has you sit down on the bed. He moves around the room setting the mood. First, he pushes a button on the wall that lowers the curtains, dimming the room. He closes the door behind him and sits next to you on the bed.
“How does this work?” you ask a little timid, but very eager.
“Lay back,” he tells you. He lays down on top of you and begins to kiss your face and your lips. Anywhere his lips can kiss, he kisses. Your cheeks, your ears, your eyelids even. The tip of your nose.
Then he moves to your neck and chin and jaw. He adds some bites to your neck, and sucks on your clavicle.
“Can I?” he asks tugging on the hem of your shirt. You nod, and with his help, you pull it off exposing chest to him now. You swallow, feeling a little shy watching him eye your breasts.
You’ve never seen him so speechless. Instead of talking, he puts his mouth to use and suckles your perked nipple into his mouth. His hand cups your other breast and thumbs over your nipple. When you gasp, he sucks harder and pinches his fingers harder. Your hands fly to his hair and you pull. He growls a little and you feel slick between your legs.
“Ezra?” you whine. Your breast is shiny with his saliva, and there’s a sting left behind from his teeth and grit from his facial hair.
“What do you need birdie?” He murmurs into you flesh. His hand smoothing down your skin and gliding over your tummy and to the waistband of your pants.
“Ezra wait,” you gasp.
“Are my ministrations too fast for your likin’?” he questions, lips dragging along your stomach. He’s trying to make you laugh again, or at least relax you further.
“I-” you pause.
“It’s ok,” he smiles and kisses your tummy. “Help me?” he says tugging on your pants a little. You help him push your pants and underwear down, and you watch in equal parts arousal and embarrassment as he sees you.
He touches a pointer finger to your entrance, touching the slick gathered there. He dips inside and you arch your back feeling the drag of his finger inside. His thumb brushes your clit and you jolt.
“Now remember, I am not as well practiced with my left, so you’ll have to excuse any inexperience on my part, though I do know how to please a lady.”
“Ezra!” is all you can think to say when he slides a second finger in.
“But as it seems, you’re enjoying this regardless. That’s good,” he smiles and presses a loud kiss to your thigh. He doesn’t stop the toying with your clit. Even after you hit that first high and come around his fingers. He keeps going. Teasing you just a little more. “You are doin’ so well my girl,” he purrs.
He looks up at you when he pulls his hand away, his grin is pure lovesick. Your eyes are hazy from the high you’ve just been given, and there’s still more to come.
“I want just one more from you before we get down to it alright?” He tells you. He’s working his way up the bed, and you’re not sure what he’s doing. He pulls the pillows together, and he flops down on his back, his head on the pillows. “Alright little bird, c’mere,” he says and taps his chin.
Taking his meaning with heat covering your body, you climb up and carefully lower yourself onto his face. His tongue and mouth ready to accept your heat. You groan in unison as he makes the first lick. You’re still so sensitive from before, but wow it feels good.
Oh.
This is really good.
His mouth, of course, of course his mouth is as skilled in pleasure as it is in talking. His tongue moves expertly on your flesh as if he’s done this to you a million times. You’re coming on his tongue in mere minutes.
His arm is tight around you, and you buck against him as you come down.
His eyes open, and he looks up at you, he’s quite pleased with himself.
“Now if this isn’t the best view a man could have then I don’t know what is,” he smiles, his eyes lingering on your breasts for a beat, then back up to your face.
Carefully, on wobbly legs, you lay down on the bed, and Ezra works to take off his pants. You lean up to look at him, he’s on his knees now, naked. He’s stroking himself lazily, getting ready for you.
“Can I?” you sit up reaching for him.
“Be my guest,” he reassures, and you wrap your fingers around him. He winces and groans a little. “It has been far too long since I’ve been held but someone other than my own hand.”
He feels nice, and you have the desire to keep moving your hand until he finds his high. But he pushes your hand away.
“I do appreciate the eagerness, but if you keep that up, we won’t get to all the fun. Lay down for me alright?”
You do as he asks, and he pauses for a moment. He’s thinking.
When he gets the idea, you see it come across his face with a little “oh!” and a grin. He lays down on top of you, you’re chest to chest.
“Little birdie, I need you to wrap your legs around me? Got it?” You nod and do as he asks. From this position you can feel the tip of him at your entrance. Putting his weight on you for a moment, he reaches down between your bodies and lines himself up with you. “There might be a little bit of a pinch, but we’ll work ya through it alright?”
You nod again, and he pushes inside. He moves his hand back up to smooth your hair out of your face. He moves slowly, watching your face, kissing you more to get you relaxed. Once he’s fully inside, he waits.
He gives you a moment to breathe, then when you give the ok, he moves. His arm is up by your head now, keeping him from putting his whole weight on you and giving him some leverage. His thrusts are steady, and your body moves with him, gasping each time he hits that spot in you.
“It pains me that I cannot reach down to tease that lovely pussy of yours, but birdie, you gotta touch yourself for me. Can you do that?”
You slip your hand between your bodies and touch yourself in rhythm with his thrusts.
“Good girl,” he coaxes. “Don’t stop,” he tells you nibbling your ear. And you don’t. You keep going until you feel the high approaching. When it hits you, he’s not far behind. His cock twitches and pulses, and he comes deep inside you.
Exhaustion hits him and he puts more of his weight on you. Now with a free hand, he pushes your hand away and touches your clit again just to touch you a little one more time. That touch has you jolt, and he laughs darkly in your neck.
“Ezra?”
“Mmm?” he looks up at you, and you start to smooth his hair back.
“Can we do this again? Tonight?” you bite your lip.
“Hmm,” he pretends to think. “I’ll have to think about it.”
“Ezra!” you laugh and playfully hit his chest.
“Okie,” he shrugs and begins to blow raspberries on your chest.
You stay with him then, tangled in the sheets all morning. And all afternoon, and into the evening. You can barely keep your hands off one another. And there’s not much desire to go prospecting any time soon, not when you’ve discovered something much richer in each other.

The Third Time of Three
This was definitely what I expected the most! TW: Abortion
part 1 | part 2 | ao3
‘’Sorry’’ Ginny mumbled in the midst of sobs, lying in a fetal position on the bed while hugging her knees, feeling like scum, the worst of the species ‘Sorry’’ She could barely see a foot in front of her face
‘‘Please don’t say that’’ Harry was crying too, hugging her from behind and looking like he was about to pick her up to lull her like he did with his kids ‘‘Please Gin, don’t apologize’’
‘’I didn’t know .. I don’t-- ’’
‘’- I know my love, I know’’
Two days ago..
Harry and Ginny had decided to have another child, no matter how much James and Albus were being less argumentative with each other and the Weasleys had grown up considerably in the last few years, it seemed right.
And it felt right when he took his goddaughter Rose on his lap, or when they saw Ron braiding his daughter's hair, when Dominique climbed onto Harry's lap so she could makeup him, and when little Molly asked Ginny to teach her Flying. It felt right to try again.
Harry was no longer going on suicide missions and had become the Head of Aurors, which made his workload very short, and that Ginny was starting to think about retiring from the Harpies, since The Prophet offered a job as a journalist. James was at an important stage in his life and now he was beginning to enter a stage that he would be able to remember when he was older, and none of them wanted the boy's memories to be of his parents' absence. And Teddy was almost going to Hogwarts, which demanded even more attention.
But it seemed like a good time to try.
They tried - not that it was a horrible thing to do, honestly - and as much as it was sad when the test came back negative, they didn't give up.
Ginny had warned Gwenog this time, told her about the plans and that possibly she would not return after the third child, everything was going well.
Until she fell off the broom in the middle of the World Cup.
It had been chaos, from when the bludger hit her in the ribs and caused her body to be thrown away from the broom, until the time she fell on the floor unconscious, remembering nothing else.
Harry despaired, there was a frightening amount of blood on the floor and Ginny looked quite hurt even though he saw it from several feet up. For a few seconds, as he stared at her lying on the floor, he thought he had lost her. He thought that for some cruel reason, his children would be without their mother, they would lose the best person they had ever met.
But she moved, very little, but she moved, and he started breathing again.
In the next instant, Harry was in the Hospital, walking in the room where Ginny was, still unconscious and looking absurdly fragile. Molly had stayed with the boys, however much Teddy looked like he was about to break down and Albus seemed to lose his lungs with every step his grandparents took away from Harry. James was darkly silent, looking over his grandfather's shoulder towards his father, as if he expected Harry to disappear forever. He later blamed himself for leaving the boys that way, without even explaining that he would return.
When Ginny woke up, she barely remembered where she was or what had happened, the healers kept her under observation until they were sure that everything was fine, and that she would not have any fallout. And when Healer Swattye arrived with the papers in hand, they expected the worst, because no one would bring good news with that face;
‘‘I’m sorry Mrs. Potter, but you lost the baby’’
Ginny has been blaming herself ever since, crying endlessly since she knew, avoiding anyone but Harry, hiding inside the room and finding herself the worst of monsters.
''Albus is worried'' Harry said after her crying soothed, hugging her to his chest and stroking her red hair ''Let him in just to see that you're okay'' He asked, already imagining that his son could barely make it stop in place, anxious about the mother's silence since they returned from the Hospital
‘’What if he sniffs that I’m a bad mother? Children can feel’’ She murmured against his chest, her voice shaky and low. Harry had thought he had never felt so much pain in his life
‘’You’re not, Gin. You will never be .. You didn't know you were pregnant and the Bludger was really strong'' Harry repeated for what seemed like the tenth time, but he wouldn't stop until Ginny understood ''Let the boys come and see you, it'll be good'' The woman sighed, seeming to ponder, before nodding. ‘’I’ll call them’’
Harry knocked on Teddy's room, knowing that the three were there, as they had been since they had returned, sleeping together and holding each other as if they were going to be safer. ‘’Mom wants to see you’’ He said, taking Albus on his lap and waiting for Teddy and James to get up.
The second, had not yet expressed any reaction beyond the silence - deafening - and the few words he had spoken during breakfast today, commenting on not wanting to go to his grandparents' house.
Harry thought he was the one who was suffering the most from Gin's situation.
As soon as they opened the bedroom door, Ginny was sitting on the bed, still looking crying, but at least she smiled when Teddy and Albus ran to the bed, throwing themselves on the mattress and hugging her as if she had run away for decades. James continued to hug Harry's leg.
‘’Come on buddy, I’m going with you .. Mommy wants to see you too’’ Harry whispered, lowering himself to the son who looked like he was about to cry, his brown eyes shining towards his parents bed
‘’Doesn’t she love us anymore?’’ James also whispered, looking at his dad this time.
''Of course she does, she is just in pain… she is missing you'' Harry looked at Ginny, who faced the situation as if it were a horror movie, still being hugged by the other two boys, but still looking about to cry again with the reluctance of the other son ''Come on, let's go'' James moved, accompanying Harry to the bed and climbing with the impulse his father had given him, sitting next to Gin's waist, looking at her with curiosity.
''Mommy, are you okay?'' James asked, not taking his eyes off her eyes ''Daddy said you got hurt'' Ginny swallowed, her heart aching in her chest, wanting to pull the boy close but also wanting respect your moment.
‘’Mom will stay’’ She said hopefully
''I wish I came here to read to you, like you did when I fell, but Dad said I needed to be with Al .. I took care of him, Mom, I didn't fight'' James was still serious, but now his eyes were running tears. Gin was the same, and she couldn't take much longer, pulling him into the collective embrace, kissing the top of his head
''Thank you dear, Teddy told me that you were very patient'' The godson nodded, smiling at James, lying on Gin's shoulder as if he were still small, while Albus was precisely lying with his head on her belly, as if wanted to hear what was inside. James lay on the other shoulder, within her embrace.
‘‘I was scared’’ James whispered in her ear ‘‘But I knew you were coming back’’.
[...]
Ginny managed to sleep that night, and the others too, even when Harry had to leave at dawn to help an Auror who was calling him, and Teddy came to lie with her, hugging her and barely keeping his eyes open for more than a minute before to go back to sleep (and she knew there was Harry's finger on it). She was recovering.
She went to see a healer a few days later and followed his orders about retiring entirely from Quidditch, in order to avoid more moments like that. Ginny could barely contain a few tears when Gwenog hugged her and thanked her for all the years they had worked together, and that she fully understood that it was time for her to go. Asking her to be kind in sports columns involving the Harpies.
And after a few months, after telling her mother what had happened and crying like a baby in her lap; she and Harry tried again.
The healer had said that maybe it would take time, her body was weakened and maybe it would be better for her to talk to the Muggle obstetrician and gynecologist who had delivered the baby and all the monitoring of James and Albus, just to clear conscience.
She and Harry listened carefully to the doctor, did the tests, and Ginny told about the loss of the baby and how it had affected her. Dr Iven, as always, had been calm and empathetic with her situation, reaffirming - even if she had not spoken - that she was not a bad mother for having lost her child and that this was more than she could have imagined.
‘’But now, we’re going to work for the next one to come, and to be healthy’’ He said, before prescribing some more routine tests.
In the first month, nothing happened. Not in the second, or in the third, or in the sixth ... Nothing. But then, after Teddy's 10th birthday (where he secretly asked for a little sister), a few weeks later, Ginny was in a much bigger spurt than usual, and she was sweating a lot, even if it was autumn.
At first she thought it was because working with Rita Skeeter was really stressful, but the woman had spent a week in Wales. Afterwards, she thought she might be entering menopause, but it was impossible, witches only entered after 100 years old. So Ginny took off all her clothes and put herself in front of a mirror, just because she had read this in one of the magazines that Dr Iven kept it at the clinic.
Her breasts were heavier, and her stomach seemed higher than normal, and her vaginal lips were darker, as indicated in the magazine that was due to blood flow in early pregnancy.
It didn't take long for her to put on her clothes and apparate near the Muggle pharmacy, buying several pregnancy tests and then returning home. It was late afternoon, Harry was in the yard helping Albus to plant whatever he had gotten from Neville, James was hanging out with Ron, Mione and Rose, and Teddy would only come tomorrow ... She could hardly stand her curiosity, but she held on until it was later and Harry could be on the side, just because Ginny would feel safer that way.
‘’I bought pregnancy tests’’ She commented as soon as her husband closed the door to their room after putting the two boys to sleep ‘‘I haven’t done any’’
‘’Do you think you are .. are you pregnant? Forget it, of course it does'' They both laughed ''Whatever the outcome, I'm here'' Harry said, and she nodded, running to the bathroom and lowering her pants, anxious to pee soon ''Not even with me you get naked so fast''
''I had three liters of water in the last two hours, I need to pee'' The two were silent while Ginny peed as much of the test as she could, placing them on top of the sink and barely being able to get up from the toilet, hiding her face in her hands and trying not to create too much expectation.
‘’I love you’’ Harry whispered, sitting across from her on the floor ‘‘So much’’
‘’Me too’’ Ginny looked at him, smiling and feeling her chest rumbling with each heartbeat ‘’ How long?’’
‘’One minute’’ He looked at the watch on his wrist ‘‘I think I might pass out at any time’’
‘‘Please don’t’’ Ginny laughed, taking a deep breath and looking at the test row. She wanted it so badly, wanted so much more opportunity ... one last time. Maybe if a girl came now, a little redhead - just this once ... Of course, she would love the baby with her whole life, regardless of sex.
‘’Three minutes’’ Harry spoke, but remained still, looking at her
‘’You take it, I can’t look’’ Ginny hid her face again, blood pounding in her ears .. She wanted it so badly…
''Ginny?'' Harry was trembling when she looked at him, he was looking at the row of tests and tears were falling from his eyes as if it were a running tap, a small smile formed, before giving way to a huge one ''We will be parents’’.

CHAPTER 1: The First Lesson
There are only three lessons you should never forget, kiddo…
The voice faded away like a thin fog vanishing from your view, and you couldn’t help but wonder why your sub-conscience felt the urge to remind you about it every single day of your life. You fluttered your fingers ─intertwined on top of your chest─ beginning to regain your consciousness over your body, feeling every inch of your form wake up along with your mind before you slowly opened your eyes to fix your gaze on the ceiling.
At the age of seventeen, you should be used to have this same dream over and over again ─ as if your brain was some kind of broken parrot, who couldn’t stop replaying it on your mind every night ─ but you weren’t, and you didn’t really feel like you would ever be.
The ceiling looked like the usual: Woody and leafy, as you liked to define.
You didn’t need to look around to know exactly what it looked like because, for seventeen years of your life, you woke up in the exact same spot. You lived in the exact same place. You interacted with the exact same people. You lived the exact same life. You had the exact same dream. You heard the exact same voice. You learned exactly… Well, at least you learned different things over your life.
And again, none of those answered your questions.
You felt your sweat dripping slowly from your forehead; all your body burnt as if you were baking something all day long ─ except you weren’t ─, and at this point, you weren’t even surprised anymore. Every day you woke up like this: Dripping sweat and burning fever.
The Coven swore to you that you weren’t sick.
It was just Nature manifesting itself.
You never saw Nature manifesting like this on any of your fellow members.
You knew it had something to do with your dream but you couldn’t completely understand it. The scenes were blurry ─just like when you’re crying and the tears make it impossible to discern anything before your eyes ─, and the voices that surrounded you were loud and incomprehensive enough to confuse you to the core. The only thing you could really point out was that at the center of whatever place it was and surrounded by the crowd, something was consumed by the flames.
It was easy enough to assume that something had a name…
It was only logical to assume that the voices resumed the existence of that something ─ who was indeed a someone ─ in the only thing they could understand; chanting it in a tone filled with hatred and fear… You could only assume that the nameless figure who was engulfed by the flames ─ the only discernable thing in your dream, a bright orange-ish dance that emanated all the warmth that you felt burn your body at night─ was being called a witch.
   Just like you.
You couldn’t even count the times you woke up afraid of being that nameless figure burning down on that stake… You couldn’t even count the times that you prayed for Nature to protect you like She had protected so many of yours… You couldn’t even count the times that you wished your undiscovered power wasn’t premonitory… You couldn’t even count the times you asked for The Elders to take this away from you.
   Yet, They couldn’t.
Nature wants you to live with it, They said.
   Pretty convenient.
“Do you need me to throw cold water on you or will you raise that butt by yourself?” The door shoot open as the old lady ─ also known as your grandma─ opened all the windows with a flick of her hand. The wood slammed on more wood, sounding loud and clear into your head, and all the brightness of the day got to your eyes, hurting them “I’ll give you three seconds!” She chanted, walking around the space, and picking up things around.
   She was loud as hell.
You would expect an old lady like her to be really slow and quiet, maybe feel a lot of pain and complain a lot.
Actually, one of those could be checked.
   She complained a whole lot.
“And three!” She snapped her fingers.
You felt the mattress whip under you ─ twitching in a way that projected your body out of it─, making you yelp as your body raised in the air, limbs floundering around as you waited for her to do something to prevent you from falling to the ground. You raised your voice as you yelled, eyes widening and heart bursting out in your chest, feeling despair wash over you as your body began to make its way to the ground.
“And two!” She snapped her fingers again, sounding giggly as she did it, and you made a mental note to make a hell out of her life by the end of the day.
The vines that hung from your ceiling came to life, tangling over your limbs to pick you up right before you hit the ground. They lifted your body enough to get you to her eye level, and she grinned at you, looking harmless as her eyes molded into crescents. You shot her a scorn grimace, waiting for her to give the order, so the vines would peacefully place you to the ground. She took one step back, taking the bucket she had under her arms and smiling brightly at you before snapping her finger, a coil of fluids forming of thin air to fill it up.
   Oh, boy.
“And one!” She sang before jolting the bucket and hitting your face with cold water. You shut your eyes, mouth agape as you felt the drops rolling down your face, the cold feeling penetrating your skull and waking you up completely “Let’s go, we have a lot to do today!” She dropped the bucket with a loud thud before clapping her hands twice, turning her back to you and heading to the door.
“A little hand here?!” You yelled as she disappeared from your view, and her head came back into your view, peeking over the doorframe slyly. You waved your arms in the air, gesticulating to yourself and tightening your lips, suggestively looking at her, so she would realize you were still stuck on there.
“Oh, right!” She chuckled dismissively “Vivi, let her go, Sweetheart!” She said friendly, and the vines ─ Vivi, as they were called─ promptly dropped you to the ground. You hit the floor with a loud thud, arms preventing your face to smash on the floor, raising your head to glare at your grandmother.
“Really?!” You whined, yelling so she could hear you after disappearing again behind the doorframe. You rolled over your back, watching as the vines retracted to the ceiling, adorning the wooden beam there “Well, thank you, Vivi!” You sneered but they didn’t give you any attention, tangling over the wood and resting peacefully.
“What is all that commotion?” You tilted your head back, taking into your view an upside down Chan framed by the door “Again?” He giggled, dimples digging his face as he approached you, extending his hand for you to take. You took it gratefully, standing up with his help and dusting off your clothes, trying to look presentable enough.
The blond warlock didn’t seem to mind your soaked self or your sticky hair to your face, keeping his smile as if he didn’t even notice the mess you looked like right now. He ruffled your wet hair, chuckling as you shrank embarrassed, before he raised his index finger, spinning it around. The warm and soft air jet that twirled from his fingertip slowly dried out your hair and clothes, and you took the opportunity to fix them once again.
“This is so cool!” He chirped “I never thought I would have this honor” He sighed, satisfied.
Chan was an expert among the few Warlocks you had at The Coven. It was general knowledge that magic manifestation in natural forms ─ such as elemental spells ─ was uncommon for Warlocks but there he was, playing with the warm air. No one believed him when ─ at the age of nineteen, only halfway through his witchcraft studies ─ Chan said he learned to use some basic air spells.
It had been a week and he had yet to grow used to the idea.
Although some of the others related his abilities to the fact that he was the grandson of The Airy Elder, you didn’t agree with them. None of the others could make spells, and some of the Warlocks, such as Changbin, were grandsons of other Founders too. The fact was that Chan had a pure soul; pure enough for Nature herself to grant him the honor to hold her power.
You may be a little biased, though.
“First, stop flattering yourself!” You joked, pushing him lightly, getting a giggle out of him “Second, I was totally going to get up!” You defended yourself, which he dismissed with a knowing look that made you blush. You cleared your throat ─ a vain attempt to hide how your heart drummed inside your chest ─, feeling embarrassment wash over you at the mere thought of your painfully obvious crush being there for anyone to see.
It was especially uncomfortable to know that Chan had a great hearing.
The young Warlock specialty was to hear the soul and heart’s voices.
At this point, you could just deafen him just by your heartbeat.
“Oh?” He blurted out, arching his brows as he shot a look to the ceiling. You followed his gaze to meet a small bird flying around in a spiral right on top of you two. He extended his finger in a twig-like gesture that invited the tiny creature to approach him, which it did. The bird landed on his finger, fleeting and tilting its head to glance at both of you, blinking rapidly. You stared at it curiously, tilting your head to the side, and it funnily mimicked you.
Stop flirting around and come help me, you ungrateful child!
You rolled your eyes when your Grandma’s voice sounded through its opened beak, embarrassed. Chan seemed to find it funny enough, though, because soon he was in stitches, holding his stomach as his laughter sounded like jingling bells. The bird flew off right after, startled by his sudden motion, letting you and the amused boy by yourselves once more.
He recomposed himself, wiping a tear from his eyes and chuckling before looking softly at you and gesture to the door, accompanying you out of the cottage. You closed the door behind you ─ rubbing your arm awkwardly as you averted your eyes ─, trying to figure something cool to say that could cover up all the embarrassing moments before. He took it in the wrong way, though, taking off his coat and covering your shoulders with it, throwing you a warm smile.
“Oh, no! There is no need for such a thing!” You rushed to say, trying to take out his clothes. He grabbed your shoulders, squeezing them lightly before chuckling. You glanced at him coyly and he patted your shoulders, fixing his gaze somewhere behind you before leaning closer to your ear, his breathy giggle fluttering some hair strands on your temples.
“Keep it… Who knows how many surprises she holds for you?” He whispered, turning you around to look at your impatient Grandma, tapping her foot on the ground. He pushed you lightly, waving goodbye when you threw a look over your shoulder before picking up your pace to reach the upset Elder.
                                                                       /////
The trees' crown rustled, allowing the thin light beams to dance on the ground.
The gleam caught your eyes for a split of a second, bringing a content smile to your face as you felt the warmth of the woods impregnate your body; the blowing wind inciting you to spin around with the dancing trees. You fluttered your limbs in a dainty motion ─ spiraling once while feeling the breeze dance along with you ─, connecting yourself with every single living creature around for just a brief moment, enough to bring you to tears.
The moment was overwhelming and you felt your heart swell before the gentle breeze and calming tune that came from the deepest parts of the woods shattered in small pieces right before you. The silence that came along was overbearing. It was like every single one of the creatures mourned and yet gloated, choosing to retire themselves for a while; a suffocating hollowness falling to the woods.
The sudden gale hit you like a slap, pushing your body backward before spiraling around you ─ and you around ─, bringing altogether thousands of voices that didn’t seem to belong to anyone, and yet seemed to belong to everything. You shot your head up, eyes roaming around the woods as you tried to spot whoever was the source of such powers, but meeting no one to the sight. The whispers resounded in your mind, bewildering you, and the mix of voices buzzed to your ears before dying out gradually.
Nature allows you to be who you truly are… Never turn your back on her
The First Lesson was chanted by a soft voice brought by the wind, a voice that soon enough fell silent again; just like the woods. You roamed your eyes around ─ urging to make sense out of the suspicious situation ─, noticing how the animals hid far from the sight, a less than best-case-scenario for your hunting.
The silence was broken once more by the wind itself, a sourceless yowling blown into your ears, making you snap your eyes to the side, startled. Once again, no one was in sight. You had this odd feeling in your gut, like an intruder just came into your home, and the bitterness that grew on your tongue prompted you to grunt, sharp eyes darting between the trees.
“Reveal yourself!” You demanded, head swiveling but meeting nothing but the forest before you. The wind blew again, whispering through the leaves, and this time you followed its flow cautiously, eyes attentive to every single flutter you caught in the way. It faded away just like this, without a path for you to follow, and you groaned in frustration.
What ─ in the name of the Goddess ─ was happening here?
“H-Help…” Your ears perked up, eyes shooting to your left “P-please…” It was a small voice, undoubtedly owned by a human, and the realization made you shiver. You closed your eyes for a few seconds, sighing as you pondered what to do. Should you pretend you didn’t hear it?
The wind blew again, violent, as a not so silent warning.
You tsked, sighing before slinking through the trees for a few minutes until you spotted the boy on the ground, curled up. He seemed to be young ─maybe around your age─, dark hair stuck to his sweaty skin and eyes unfocused, roaming around. There was no doubt that his intoxicated figure ─pale skin, delusional eyes, and dry lips─ were caused by the one thing that had your hands tied: The River.
As much as you pitied his agonizing end, he deserved it.
You would never forget the day when all of the younger ones ─ such as yourself─ joined to ask The Elders why you couldn’t go into the woods like the older witches and warlocks, upset that you couldn’t do anything for The Coven.
You would never forget the way your Grandma looked at you ─ letting the pain wash over her features right in front of your eyes─ before averting her gaze to the horizon, a stern and distant self that seemed to look directly to the past as if she could see everything unraveling right before her eyes.
“The Humans… They were cruel to us” You remembered her saying “They tortured us over the years in ways that I wouldn’t dare to tell you kids in details… The Coven is protecting you from them and you should listen to us because no one else out there will care for you as we do” Her answer wasn’t satisfactory for any of you, so you whined, prepared to make a commotion. She stomped the ground ─a loud roar echoing from under her foot─ and looked at each of you with a steel-cold gaze.
“Take a look at those” She raised her feet, exposing burn scars all over the sole, making all of you gasp in unison “I was captured by The Humans ages ago… Before The Coven was even founded... I and tons of other witches were tortured for being what we are… Women. They hate us and persecute us. They wanted us dead…”
“They restrained us to the point we couldn’t feel our own blood running through our veins… The blood that connects us to this Nature… Some of us lost our hands or our feet… Some of us lost our lives at this point… It didn’t really matter to them” The pause revealed a suffocating silence but none of you dared to interrupt her rewind, keeping your breaths withhold “The ones who survived were already deprived of water, food, or light… We had only ourselves, our voices, our hope, and our faith with us. We didn’t even have clothes, as they stripped us and let us freeze to death. Some of us did. Some of us didn’t”
“The ones that still survived all that were beaten up to the ground… Battered to the point they couldn’t even bear to stand up and fell dead right there, in front of our eyes… I wish I could say it was just it… Just once… They selected some of us to go to the woods, to let us have the chance to survive” She scoffed, looking away “The ones that weren’t selected were allowed to drink some water before going through all that over again… And again… And again… They had us for about three weeks” Her eyes teared up, and you still had the urge to cry until today whenever you remembered her broken voice.
“When my time to go to the woods came, I discovered we weren’t simply thrown in the woods… No, we had to bear with our bare feet the red-hot soil under tender skin… Dehydrated… Starved… Ruined… I almost wished they could only burn me down at the stake. They didn’t. All of the survivors were marked for their lives… Not only here” She pointed out to her temples “But in a way that they could identify us in the future…” She raised her feet.
“They said the ones who survived were witches and the ones who didn’t weren’t… So we couldn’t have any winners. It didn’t matter if you survived or not. It didn’t matter if we were witches or not. All of us somehow deserved to be dead…” She looked at you filled with sadness and regret before she averted her eyes, ashamed “They even poisoned the river… They knew the first thing we would do was to look for water, drink to relieve the dryness of our soul and body… And so did tons of us… Especially the younger or the least experienced ones… The exhausted souls that couldn’t think of purifying the water anymore… Who couldn’t handle it” She sighed, lowering her head “All dead”
It wasn’t out of vanity that The Coven enchanted the river.
The first thing they thought you at the age of fourteen was how to purify water so it would be safe to drink from the river; so you wouldn’t be killed by the cruelness that flowed through its waters if they ever did it again. The enchantments and spells threw all around the place were the only way to protect all of you from them… The only way you could afford to have somewhere to survive. The only way that you could be yourselves.
If it meant the death of some meddling humans… Let it be.
They killed you enough for regret to wash over your souls.
The River now was a symbol of your rebellion, of your power and urges to live… It was also the symbol of all the deceased witches you had because of their cruelties. It was the blood that ran through your veins. It was the magic that imbued your souls and body.
The magic that ran through the body of this unaware guy struggling right in front of your eyes… The magic you couldn’t undo even if you wanted to…. He was a lost cause. You turned your back to him, ready to go back to your hunting and leave him behind, but one broken sentence was enough to make you stumble over your feet.
“I don’t want to die all alone…” He cried, holding his throat tightly in despair.
Never turn your back on her…
You sighed before approaching him, sitting right beside him before taking his hand into yours. He shot his eyes at you, startled at the sudden presence, and you made your best to throw him a gentle smile even though you could see his face slowly swelling up as he suffocated right in front of your eyes.
“The river is flowing… Flowing and growing… The river is flowing down to the sea…” You chanted, caressing his hair gently “Mother, carry him… Your child He’ll always be… Mother, carry him… Down to the sea…” You wiped his sweat, opening your canteen to give him some water to placate his thirst, wetting your hand before carefully rubbing your palms over his face.
You could feel how the woods sang along with you, the soft rustles of the leaves following your tune, and birds tweeting to the rhythm. You felt your heart swelling, connecting to your surroundings once again, and even his heartbeat seemed to sing along with Nature for a split of a second.
The attuned orchestra was interrupted by his muttering ─ soft voice under his breath─, something impossible to comprehend that made you nod anyway. You kept your smile firm on your lips to reassure him in his last moments, hoping that Nature could have some mercy on him. He tried to hum along with you ─ like he was tempted to pray before his end but could only follow your lead ─, and even though his rattling lungs couldn’t keep up with your chant, you slowed down a bit, getting a single grateful tear from his eyes.
The emotional moment was broken by his strangled gasps ─a desperate attempt to breathe normally─, and you made sure to avert your eyes to look straight ahead. You shouldn’t witness his moment of weakness like this. You squeezed his hand to reassure him, to remind him that he wouldn’t die by himself, and as soon as he squeezed back ─ as strong as he could, trying to get your attention─, you obliged yourself to return your gaze to him.
“K-Kim Seungmin” He struggled to say, sharp intakes of breath hinting he wouldn’t last much longer.
“I’ll let your family know” You lied, bringing his head to your lap so he could feel more comfortable, allowing a little bit of air to get to his lungs. He tried to nod, and you averted your eyes again, looking into the woods to distract yourself.
   And distracted you got.
The scene that met your eyes was, to say the least, amusing; your Grandma strode in your way, staff floundering in the air as she approached the guy in a rush. She took a look at him, musing before shoving some herbs inside his mouth out of nowhere, gripping his jaw in a way to force him to munch it.
You looked at her startled but utterly ignored as she snapped her fingers over and over again.
“Come on, young man” She said in her best elder lady voice you had ever heard “Gulp it down so you won’t die” She instructed, snapping her fingers to get his attention. Except it wasn’t the case. You could almost feel the frisson around his body as she kept snapping it over and over again, drawing circles in the air. The heavy layer of magic covered him like a blanket.
He gulped down before you heard a sharp intake of breath ─ one that signalized he could really breathe right now─ and he gasped, again and again, feeling the air burn his lungs as he coughed for dear life. His torso snapped up, hand meeting his throat as he tried to recompose himself, practically back from the dead, eyes roaming around the place.
The purple that once painted his face dissolved into a more healthy color and flushed cheeks. You took a better look at his face, warm brown hair hiding his forehead and dark eyes that were big as saucers for the moment, completely taken aback by his luck. He had just survived. He opened his mouth a couple of times, and you couldn’t help but notice how red his lips were right now, and also exceptionally well-shaped.
“Don’t talk right now” She advised, taking the canteen from your hand “Drink this… You must be thirsty” She said kindly, adjusting the object so she could allow him to drink some of the water inside it. He took large gulps, eyes overflowing with relief before he had enough strength to raise his hand to the canteen and stop her motions.
“I don’t know how to express my gratefulness for both of you” He said sincerely “I own you my life” He was quick to kneel, lowering his head in respect, one arm bending on his back and the other one rested on top of his knee. You extended your hand, ready to dismiss the unnecessary formality, but your Grandma seemed to think otherwise.
“You do” She agreed, standing up and supporting herself on her wood staff, like an elder. You almost scoffed at her antics but a single twist of her feet made you shut your mouth, the hard inaudible pang on your ass making you think twice before disrespecting her “Unfortunately, I may have to take some of it from you” She smiled apologetically.
She acted before you could even understand what she had just said.
The staff was raised to strike his stomach in a quick motion ─ so quick that he couldn’t help but hunch his back, hands over his stomach as he huffed in astonishment ─ before her hand covered his face to push his head to the ground, tipping him over.
“What strings are plucked beneath the mound? Awake the seeds to break the ground” She chanted, hand gripping his head firmly. You could see his right eye widen, peeking between her long fingers, mouth opening to scream for help. She jerked his head once, the sudden movement silenced him, and as you watched the scene with your mouth agape ─ utterly startled─, you noticed how his eyelashes fluttered close, hinting he was under a sleeping spell.
“Grandma, what are you doing?” You hissed, looking around the woods as if Nature herself would come to punish both of you.
She raised her other hand in a sharp movement, signalizing that you should keep quiet. You shut your mouth, pursing your lips to make sure not a sound would drop from you. It didn’t prevent you from stretching your neck, trying to get a better look at whatever was happening right in front of your eyes.
The scene before your eyes had your head tilting.
You never saw an enchantment like this.
You watched as strings of translucent energy oozed from his ears, slowly drenching the ground underneath his head in a spiral that seemed to fuzz the grass. The delicate flutters of her free hand seemed to hasten the energy flow, and soon enough she released his head, fluttering her fingers as if she was seasoning him. The mere thought of the unconscious boy being treated like a roasted chicken made you chuckle, and she shot you a glare to keep you quiet.
“No question asked… No answer found” She continued, and the energy coiled to the ground, knotting there before a small flower gradually sprouted, “Young man, now list to me…” She snapped her fingers, and all the fuzzing you felt around vanished. She caressed his head, thumbs running through his cheeks “It’s all a strange dream; don’t worry too much about this… It was really dangerous to fall asleep in the woods, wasn’t it? They should be worried about you by now…” She sighed, getting up and gesticulating for you to follow her.
You straightened up, prepared to obey without a question.
A sudden breeze made you shiver and you stared at the boy on the ground, musing for a second before taking Chan’s coat from your shoulders and covering him up. You threw a look over your shoulder to check up on him as you rushed to your Grandma, watching his asleep form snoring peacefully in the middle of the woods, resting next to a tree as if he was in a secure field. When you finally got on her tracks, you threw her a look, clearing your throat before voicing your thoughts.
“Shouldn’t we wake him up? He could be eaten by a wolf…” You pointed out but she kept her pace, waving her hand dismissively.
“He’s not our problem anymore” She shrugged, walking fast “Furthermore, it’s not the time for his death yet…” You narrowed your eyes at her, humming in wonder.
“Was that why you meddled?” You asked curiously, and she finally glanced at you over her shoulder, pursing her lips “I never thought you would save a human” You admitted.
“My mission is to respect Nature… If Nature herself wants this young man alive, I’m not the one to go against her wishes” She declared, intending to drop the subject. You hummed again, and before you could open your mouth, she cleared her throat “I thought it was clear that neither of you should approach a human until the age of eighteen” She stated matter-of-factly.
“I’m just a few months away…” You rolled your eyes before grinning “Also, I thought the first lesson of The Coven was to never turn our back to Nature… As you said, Nature herself didn’t want the young man to die” She scoffed, amused by your retort “Who am I to go against her wishes?” You chuckled, noticing how she shook her head in disbelief, though it was clear she found it funny.
“Don’t forget the other ones” She muttered seriously before snapping her fingers twice, probably releasing the poor boy from the sleeping spell.
                                                    ////
I won’t lie to you all, I’m really excited about this SUHAHUSAHUSASHUAUS It’s the first time I’ll be writing any kind of fantasy stuff. I have the general plot in my mind and I may be dropping some hints to make some kind of spin off if people like it or if I feel like it in the future lol

Caffeinated drinks, black dots and I should’ve stayed at home
Kanene’s Notes: Heya, heya awesome beans! Howz you are all doing?!
I am very glad that I finally finished this idea dfghjkderty. Shinsou was the second character that my mind screamed that I NEEDED to put in a cat cafe and kjhgtrertyu I think that one is a litol more funny and fluff than hurt/comfort, like the one with Midoriya, but worry not! In the end of the day one more kid is adopted :D
Warnings, fun facts, random things and stuff:
* That fanfic has Dadzawa and Yamadad and their relatonship can be seen as romantic, if you wish.
* This happens in the same universe as This Fanfic Here and you can also find it on AO3.
* There is passing out due exhaustion, sleep deprivation and cursing, but besides that i don’t think that there are any more warnings. This is more funny and fluff.
* This characters do not belongs to me. They all belongs to the amazing the manga/anime Boku no Hero.
* Something around 2.500 words. -w-)b.
* Sorry for any spelling, pontuation and grammar mistakes! Any advice is very very welcome!
* Tô com preguiça de postar a versão em português brasileiro aaaa! Oh!! If you have an idea for another scenario in this universe, hmu! I would love to hear it !!Thankys so much for reading this. Take care! Drink water! Eat well!! Pet a cute animal today!! And please sleep a bit, okie? <3 Byeioo!~
                         [~*~]
Shinsou blinked for what it felt the fifth time on the last minutes, which was probably the same amount a normal human being was supposed to blink but right now it just felt wrong. He rubbed his stinging eyes again, suppressing another yawn, firm on his purpose to concentrate his brain enough on the task of remembering his order, an almost impossible action by the way a growing headache involved his mind since he woke up.
The teenager focused again on the colorful, full of doodles of paws and whiskers menu, wishing for the first time in nearly two months attending the place that the drinks’ names were objective and direct, and not awful cat puns that made his braincells prefer to combust themselves instead of gathering the necessary information to remind him of the beverage he should ask.
He squinted his eyes, dots appearing in the air. Hm. Definitely not a good sign. Maybe he should order two of the most caffeinated drinks instead of just one? He stared the menu again, frustration flaming on his veins as the words blurred and lost their signification, dancing together with the café’s lights.
And it was only 7 AM.
Perhaps he should have stayed home, on the safety of his bed and the darkness of his room. He knew he should have cancelled his training.
And yet, even thinking about that possibility made Hitoshi’s stomach be consumed by anxious tugs and knots, leaving an unpleasant taste of displeasure on his mouth. His trainings were one of the best moments on his entire week. They were events he would catch himself smiling as he thought about a newest move he learned or how his body seemed to recover quicker from the lessons. Or even how good, how right and free he felt on the gym, tired and sore, in the moment that his mentor nodded, proudness flicking in his eyes.
… How amazing it felt to look at the mirror and see that same feeling reflected on his own gaze.
He couldn’t deprive himself of that sensation, even if dealing with the painful consequences of his sleep deprivation and probably a lecture if his mentor caught him was the only other options.
“Just one more. Just one more person and then I can ask for the strongest caffeinated shit here.” Yeah. This time those cups would be enough to make him endure at least his afternoon classes, he repeated to himself in mumbles. Two cups. Two cups and some minutes petting a cat and he would be ready. He would be ready for the world and society and the whole being a functional human being thing. And then he would get on the metro and nap until he gets home where he would have the real opportunity to properly sleep. Almost there. Just two cups. Two. Two cups.
Gosh, he probably sounded like Midoriya, mumbling non stop like this. A mental image of the energetic teen looking as tired as Shinsou and drinking coffee as if his life depended on it popped on his brain, leading to a sudden urge to giggle manically take over the purple haired boy, and for the way some other customers eyed him warily he possible vocalized that impulse as well, limbs feeling at the same time too much heavy and too much light.
 He was so fucking tired.
“Next one!” Loud. So loud. Shinsou obligated his body to step closer, opening his eyes enough to realize that dark spots still painted his vision. Huh. When did he close his eyes, again? “Good morning, little customer! How can I help you today?”
Hitoshi stared at the figure in front of him, senses slow like he was under water, trying to understand the distorted sentences being directed at him, the dots growing and twinkling. Black dots were supposed to be able to do that?
The world swayed a bit under his feet. He tried to move his lips but they didn’t obey him.
“Little customer?” The voice sounded worried, and maybe that is what compelled the boy to take a deep breath, putting all his will in forming word after word when a nauseating wave of tiredness hit him, leading his conscience’s grip in reality weaken.
“I am going to pass out.”
And then the world got completely black, his senses disappearing together with a background screech.
 Well, fuck.
 […]
Yamada had seen a lot of crazy, strange things while working at the cat café.
As example that one shift when an adult of blue hair, strict pose and clear exhaustion dripping in waterfalls from his form was convinced that he was in a library and fiercely tried to return a book to them, doesn’t taking a ‘no’ as answer until the blond was left stupefied with a book of “The Secrets Hidden in The Bottom of The Ocean” on his arms.
Or that occasion when a boy with a blank expression wearing Victorian clothes and completely surrounded by crows opened their door, looked from a side to another, stared at the deepest parts of Yamada’s soul, analyzing all his dark fears and secrets before slowly blink and say “Wrong store, my apologies” walking back and calmly ignoring the hissing and battle yowling of dozens of cats and crows.
Or the day a green haired woman with a kind, calm aura just walked behind the counter completely unphazed by Hizashi and Aizawa’s unbelieved looks, made two healthy snacks, patted their cheeks saying ‘You two need to eat more, dears’ and then disappeared as if nothing had happened.
However, none of those events ever prepared him for the moment which purple eyes would stare his in an unfocused state, not really looking at anything and a wobbly smirk – if he wasn’t accustomed with Shouta’s grin, he would easily call it ‘creepy’ – would paint his customer’s pale face, the silence ringing alarmingly on his ears.
“Are you okay, little listener? Do you want to sit for a minute? You look extremely tired.”
As the words came out of his lips, a spell seemed to break, the other’s face getting even paler, smile falling and eyes widening leaded his body to stumble forward instinctively, something on his guts screaming for him to get ready. A few other customers on the line grumbled in impatience, looking at their watch and protesting. Somewhere, in the deep part of his brain, Yamada wondered why those things only happened when Aizawa was out and no procedures for those kinds of situations were previously discussed on their contract.
“Hey, guy,” a blonde teenager behind the paralyzed one said, tipping forward in an attempt to catch the other’s expression, his kimono following each move, “are you… here with us?”
 “Little listener?”
A hesitant poke on his cheeks, two pair of eyes warily watching a third.
 His mouth finally moved.
“I am going to pass out.” His voice was light, stitched together by certain. His legs trembled under his own weight, body collapsing.
“You WHAT?” A terrified shriek mixed itself between Hizashi’s words, flying across the whole store.
 “Oh, shi-”
His blonde client didn’t waste a second before holding the other, arms locking under his armpits in a strange kind of hug, knees weakening with the sudden, unexpected effort, the limp teenager not even flinching with the touch, laying there completely motionless.
Hizashi blinked, gulping, adrenaline exploding on each one of his fibers, color slightly draining from his own face, a piece of his conscience wishing with all its strength for this to be only a dream. When his eyes opened, everything would be the same.
He blinked, the deafening silence still crushing the room, one set of black eyes staring at him in confusion and growing panic, another set closed, heavy, dark circles under it.
Right. He didn’t have time for this.
So, he blinked again, finding himself in front of them both, pushing his feelings under a mask of a calm, an easy reassuring smile already slipping on his face, crouching to get the legs of his customer, catching the gaze the other and winking, “let’s get him on a more comfortable position, right?”
A determined nod, quick, careful steps as they both laid the purple haired one on a small couch placed under some shelves, having to gently dislodge three sleeping cats, who hissed in irritation. The voice of Nemuri, attending the rest of the line filling the space and being acknowledged in the back of his mind, serving as a firm ground and helping his muscles to relax, even if just a little bit.
Hizashi stared the young boy in front of him, looking somewhat peaceful, a bit of color having already returned to his face, soft snores coming out from him.
… Hitoshi. That is his name, right? He wasn’t a new client, always coming at every fifteen days, always by morning and always caffeinated drinks that only Yamada - on his most delirious moments - ever thought in trying, quick to go to play with any feline who appeared in front of him. Although, he never stayed more than ten minutes, the quiets ‘bye’s he gave to the felines never failing to melt Yamada’s weak, bleeding heart.
A childish voice pulled him right out of his thoughts.
 “Mom, is he dead?”
A snort escaped his lips before he could help it. Kids.
“Sir?” The teenager shook a small device with a shiny screen in front of him, the logo of a new rock band he hadn’t a chance to listen to yet on the background “I found his phone, I think we should call his emergency contact…?”
“Of course! Thank you, little helper!” He ruffles his hair, flashing a smile and thumbs up as his finger quickly clicked on the call button, listening, not trying to show his impatience as it ringed.
“You’re late.” A tired voice answered him, and Hizashi felt his entire body relax completely, right before the surprise shook its frame, too much pieces clicking together in a puzzle he didn’t even know he was solving.
 “SHOU?”
 [~*~]
 “I am sorry.”
“You will be writing a formal letter apologizing to Hizashi, Nemuri and to me, our classes will be cancelled for this week and, if I notice you didn’t recover properly on this free time, for the next week as well. I am not going to stand by and watch you running yourself to the ground, damaging your potential because you lack of some sense of self preservation, do I make myself clear?” Shinsou tried to not visibly flinch at his sensei’s words. He almost forgot how much intimidating Aizawa could be when totally serious. They stopped by the Cat Café’s door, the black eyes staring at him.
“Yes, sir.” He answered, lowering his gaze. Shouta sighed, his worry stopping to come out as harsh and necessary words to materialize itself in the form of him patting the boy’s head, messing his hair for a few seconds before opening the door and getting into the establishment.
“Good. Now come in, Hizashi has been worried and he won’t stop pestering me until he sees with his own eyes how you are.”
Hitoshi didn’t had time to question how someone that he just met – if you consider passing out in front of him a proper meeting – could be worried about his well-being when, as the door clicked behind him, an excited screech filled the room, forging the realization that maybe that weird high sound before his faint wasn’t just the ring of his ears.
“SHINSOU!!” And, in a blink of eyes, the blonde was in front of him, hands on his face, turning it from a side to another, up and downwards, “You look so much better with some color on your face! I am glad that you finally took some necessary rest, huh? Your eyeshadows even got lighter, which, phew, is such a relief! For a very terrifying moment there I almost thought you would be as bad as this guy right here.” Yamada locked his arms around Aizawa’s shoulder, using the time to take a breather and smile, gladly giving the younger some time to process the flow of words thrown at him. “You gave us both quite a scare, kiddo.”
“I am deeply sorry for inconveniencing you and interrupting your work, Yamada-san.” He bowed, a slight embarrassed blush dusting his cheeks.
“Just please don’t do that again and you will be fine, little customer.” Hizashi then squinted his eyes on his direction as Hioshi brought himself back to his previous position, shoulders tense and straightened back, much different from his previous more slouched pose. Yamada’s eyes got a few inches wider. “You gave him The Talk!” He turned himself to Shouta, his excited sentence, loud enough to probably making his friend deaf, if the black haired adult wasn’t already used with the other’s attics, previously covering his ears before the outburst.
His response was a grunt, Aizawa dislodging himself from his touch with scoff and half heartedly mumbles, ignoring the confusion on his pupil’s gaze. “Maybe he looks like that because of your total disregarding of personal space.”
“Don’t worry,” Hizashi put his hand at the side of his mouth, as if he was confiding Shinsou’s a secret. “He only does that because he is worried about you, too. Don’t let yourself to be fooled by his grumpy façade. He is a mother hen at heart.”
“I am going to lock you outside and give all your CD’s to the kittens a their new toys.” The other threatened, going behind the balcony and turning the coffee machines on, preparing the store to open. The few cats who were already wandering around the place yowled and meowed in despair, as if the blonde hadn’t feed them fifteen minutes ago and they were starving under the hands of such unloving and uncaring creature. Aizawa crouched and distributed the treats hidden on his pockets for everyone of them, nevertheless. His friend used the distraction to mouth a ‘see?’ at the younger’s direction, eliciting a snicker from him, his body language more relaxed.
“Feel free to do whatever,” Aizawa proclaimed, not staring at the boy, who felt a flower of warmth blossom on his chest. “Just be sure that all your homework is completed by lunch time or the moment you decide to go. Sushi is probably napping now, but when she wakes up, I will warn you.”
“But first,” Hizashi clapped, capturing the attention as he walked with a dance on his step to the bakeries, taking two plate on his way. “breakfast! For you both. And that means something substantial and not just a cup of coffee.”
Shinsou startled from the table he decided to place himself, shaking his head. “Yamada-san, it’s okay, you don’t need to-”
“Nonsense, nonsense! I want to. Eating breakfast alone is just sooo boring, you know?” Hizashi spun on the place, almost throwing the muffins and breads around as Ochaco used his distraction to attack his shoelaces. “Uravity, stop, I need those.”
“Her name isn’t Uravity.” Shouta appeared again, bringing drinks and yawning, his focus changed to the boy’s. “Better give up. I’ve been fighting against him for years now.”
“Also, her name is Ochaco Uravity Fluffy Second and you just refuse to call her that because you’re just jealous of how much genius I am.”
“I refuse to call her that because I care for her sanity.”
 “Lies, lies.”
Hitoshi snorted, hiding his smirk behind his hand. “I prefer his name better, sensei.”
Aizawa watched them high five between the cheers of the blonde with an unimpressed expression. “Cheeky brat.”
“You’re just grumpy because he has a good taste. Friendship ended with Shouta, now Shinsou is my new best friend.”
"I am truly devasted." Aizawa deadpanned, taking a long sip of his beverage, hiding his smirk as Shinsou snorted, Yamada's dramatic wailing in the background.
And, as the playful bickering engulfed them between the warm food and purrs, Hitoshi decided that maybe losing his weekly training wasn’t so bad if that was what waited for him.

FLY AWAY WITH YOU | an ezra x reader fic series - part 1 of 6
rating: m for eventual smut; but none in this chapter
summary: Waking up with no memory after a head injury, you find yourself in the presence of your rescuer- a handsome stranger named Ezra.
a/n: all the parts are written except the final part, i’ll probably post them every few days or so!!! this is my first time writing ezra!! feedback is much appreciated! and thank you so so so much to @pascalispedro for everythingggg i couldn’t do this w/o you.
FLY AWAY WITH YOU
Ringing. There’s a loud ringing in your ears. Your vision is blurry and that ringing won’t stop. You can’t hear anything else, and you’re not sure what you’re seeing. The color brown and green seems to blur together. What happened? Did you hit your head?
Reaching up to touch your temple, you feel wet. Your hair is has been matted down with something sticky. Pulling your hand away, you look at it. Not that it does any good because your vision is still blurred. But there’s enough red on your fingertips to know it’s blood.
So I took it upon myself to bring you to shelter and here we are.” he gestures with his arm while he looks around the room.
“I was with my cousin, did you see anyone?”
“I am afraid I only saw some bodies, miss. You were the only one I saw alive.”
Your cousin, and whoever attacked you must have been near where you first woke up. But in your daze you started walking and missed the bodies entirely.
You were warned this was dangerous work. Sniffling, you wipe your nose with the back of your hand. Grief and shock is setting in.
And right now little birdie, I’m all you’ve got.”
He’s trying to hear, you didn’t realize you’ve just said that out loud.

An Almost Perfect Life - 1/?
Tumblr media
Summary: You are a young career woman at one of the bank in London and, at the same time, attending a PhD in Statistics. Your life was perfect until your apartment was invaded by two demons.
Pairing: Sebastian Michaelis x Fem!Reader x Claude Faustus
Chapter: Page 2
I. A tragic decision
The alarm clock above the nightstand rang with the usual deafening singsong, making a silent snort escape your lips.
You forgot to unplug it so you wouldn't let that thing hit your eardrums the night before. Yes, you used to do it, because your lack of practicality with that hellish affair...
Speaking of hell...
The curtains in your room began to creak, letting the light of day enter to illuminate the darkness in which you used to bask. You growled disturbed as your (Y/E) eyes closed on a tall figure, with a pair of glasses and the hardest facial expression of a marble statue.
You took the pillow with your right hand and turned on your side, allowing one side of it to cover your ears and eyes.
Even though you were well covered and hidden, you still warned that man to approach your alarm clock and click on its top to silence it. And a voice reached you anyway, as if it were speaking directly to your ear and this made your nerves jump.
"Miss, it's time to wake up. I made you the usual coffee and pancakes with slices of strawberry and raspberry, on a bed of maple syrup."
You hated it when they talked like they were fucking waiters in a five-star restaurant.
"It's Sunday, disappear!" you murmured, still covered by the pillow but certain that they had heard you the same.
The pillow was gently removed from your head and hands, but still with enough force to make you drop all the weight on the mattress.
You got up on your elbows, casting a look of pure hatred towards the demon with glasses who had put your soft protection of soft cloth under his arm.
"If I'm not mistaken, you had planned to go for a run this morning after yesterday's dinner."
You frowned, sitting with your back against the headboard of the bed and ran your fingers through the tangle that had become your hair during the night. You hoped that the makeup on the eyelashes had not poured all over your face but from the spots you saw on your pillow you shouldn't have been a good show.
"Don't throw programs in my face that I say just to make myself feel good, damn it ..."
You brought your hands to your eyes, to erase embarrassing traces, and at the same time something was resting on your knees hidden by the gray and heavy blankets because the terribly harsh weather of London.
You turned around just in time to observe a flash of red eyes very close to your person but before you could slap him away, he was already retreating to the base of your bed.
In front of you, on a table, the food seemed to give off a sweet aroma that asked to be bitten despite the thousand thousand calories that governed. You got watering but you took it down as if it were a hard pill to swallow. You wouldn't have given any satisfaction to those two.
You observed them, statues at the foot of the bed as if they were really waiting for your order or your comment. There, in their white shirts and black pants.
"You have no intention of leaving, huh?"
As an answer, only that usual cryptic and malicious smile came from both.
It all started four days earlier. It was a Wednesday like any other. You had your morning coffee, you dressed in the usual uniform with a black skirt and white shirt and you went to work. Your apartment was located in the center of Westminster, in the small district where about 40 families stayed but not more and about 400 meters away from the underground.
You had a car, of course, but you preferred to save money by taking an annual public transport pass and avoiding, at least during the week, the terrible traffic that filled the streets of London.
By divine grace, that day had decided not to rain and you cursed randomness for it.
At the end of your shift at the bank you worked for, you collected your things and said goodbye to all your colleagues. The bank was located in central London and wasn't very close to the tube station but still busy and viable enough to be reached.
Besides, it was also a beautiful day, until...
Many passersby seemed to stop in front of an alley but, after being vaguely interested, they passed on. Intrigued, you approached and the sound of flapping wings and a loud croaking came to your ears.
It seemed as if a bird was stirring. Maybe he must have got caught in something.
The alley was dark, so many left it alone and went their own way, but don't let that put you off. You loved all the animals except the flying insects, those you just couldn't stand them and thinking that maybe that bird could have stumbled into some trap made your heart tighten.
You took your cell phone from your pocket and turned on the torch, to allow you to better see in the darkness and there, a few steps away from you, a black crow was flapping its wings furiously.
You didn't see anything blocking him or forcing him to the ground but he seemed irritated by something.
"Hey, shh, shh-" you tried to murmur, trying to get him back to the ground but suddenly, as if the light had momentarily blinded him, with a strong blow something hit the crow and they both ended up against the wall sliding on the ground.
With a lump in your throat, you advanced quickly to that point and pointed the flashlight at the two animals on the ground.
The crow had bruised wings with rivulets of blood that wet the ground and what appeared to be a bat even had one of the wings pierced.
"What am I doing now?" you wondered, going back around you. You couldn't run out into the street and yell at someone to rescue beasts, but you couldn't even abandon them there. You were sure that some wild cats would eat them at the first opportunity.
You pointed the flashlight away from there and near a garbage bin you found an abandoned cardboard. It was dirty and even slightly wet on the sides but it would have been better than putting the two blood-filled creatures directly on your shirt. Then, you weren't sure they didn't bring disease.
You grabbed it and went back to where they were slumped and, with the help of a handkerchief, placed them inside the cardboard. Your phone indicated that it was 6 pm and if you had not hurried your area would have been packed with neighbors returning from work. Seeing you come in with two potentially sick animals would not have been an easy topic to avoid.
The journey home was quiet, London had seen oddities far more gradual than a woman carrying a dirty box.
When the bat woke up he began to scratch the crow that croaked in response and with a nervous tic you shouts to stop. In addition to receiving disturbed looks from the passengers, what surprised you was that the two had started to stare at you and at the same time stopped poking themselves.
You entered your apartment in the most discreet way possible, avoiding to greet someone and placed the box on the ground near the entrance door.
The two creatures watched your movements and suddenly that pair of yellow and red eyes started to upset you a lot.
You went back to them with two pieces of cloth you had made from an old hole in the sheet and you started to treat the crow first.
You passed a piece of wet paper on its wings but as soon as it came into contact with a wound, it croaked. You were about to drop it for fear that it would prick you with its beak but didn't venture anything like that.
You came to the conclusion that his wing was broken and that you couldn't do much without being practical. You cleaned it with the greatest possible care and together with the cloth, you placed it gently in an empty shoe box, then you returned to the bat.
That seemed like waiting for you, resting with your front and back legs as he stared at you.
You lifted him by his hairy chest, but beyond one of his clawless legs and pierced wings, all you could do was put him in a small box surrounded by cloth.
In the end, you decided that you would take the animals to the vet before going to work and they would take care of the situation.
Or so you thought ...
When you woke up the next morning, you felt that something was wrong. More a feeling than a real conscience.
You got out of bed, carefully, intending to check the two creatures that you had placed in the bathroom but when you arrived at the door that was already open.
You entered and in the makeshift kennels there was no trace of anything but the blood that had been left there.
As you closed the boxes, hoping that the animals had come out of the window and that they had not wandered around the house, the unmistakable sound of the gas being solicited was heard in the kitchen.
The blood froze in your veins.
Your ex-boyfriend no longer had the keys to your apartment and your parents would have warned of a possible surprise visit. You left the bathroom and grabbed the collectible dagger that your ex had left at your house on the shelf in the hallway.
You knew that one day, a weapon at hand would be useful.
The house keys were exactly where you left them the day before, hung on the wall in front of the small mirror above the shelf and swallowed loudly when you arrived in front of the door that separated the corridor from the kitchen.
Now the sound of cutlery and a pot on the fire was unmistakable.
What should you have done? Calling the police seemed the obvious choice, but when you turned to grab the charging cell phone in the same place where the dagger was lying, you only found the cable. The cell phone was gone.
You held the weapon tightly in your hands. You had possessions at home, possessions you cared about a lot and you didn't want them to be taken away but you had no other choice. Maybe if you started screaming down the corridor that a thief had entered your house someone would have rushed, even if only to put him on the run.
You took one last look at the kitchen and advanced towards the exit but when you tried to open the door you found it locked, you never locked it.
You raised a hand to grab the keys but took the void.
Confused you turned your gaze to where they were supposed to be but you found nothing in their place.
You opened your lips but immediately covered your mouth with your free hand to avoid that no sudden sound came out. You were sure you saw them there moments before.
"Are you looking for these?"
You turned suddenly and there, a few centimeters from you, a man was waving the keys of your door in the palm of his hand, a sharp smile on his fine lips.
You pushed yourself against the door, trying to put as much distance as possible between you and the stranger and you raised the knife in front of your stomach as if to protect yourself.
His abnormally red eyes seemed to pierce you from side to side.
"W-What do you want from me? I have no money in the house, I swear! " squeaked, letting your anxiety pour over your hands causing the knife to vibrate.
The man looked down at the weapon and raised an eyebrow.
"But take a look, the kitten has claws." He raised his hand to try to grab you but before you knew it you pushed the knife against it, trying to stop his advance but he stopped the blade as if it were made of rubber. He squeezed it tight and pulled it from your hands with little difficulty making you almost collide with his chest.
Caught off guard by your advancement, you managed to escape from under his arms and ran to your room desperately looking for something that could protect you or contact someone.
"Now, now, don't you think the best solution is to play after a good breakfast?"
The man in the corridor was right in front of the door of your room, watching you as a cat observes a trapped mouse.
Not panicking, you felt the cold breeze of the London air go through the pile of your pajamas. You had the window open, it would have been enough for you to come closer and scream and someone would surely have arrived...
But just as you took a step, your back collided with what was definitely a body.
You had checked the room, there was nobody there, there could be absolutely no one! And the man with the mocking grin was right in front of you!
You turned your head just to look at a serious, square face with a pair of glasses that covered bloody yellow eyes.
Thieves and even madmen. How many of them were still in there?
You tried to escape from the newcomer, turning around to reach the window but before you could scream the man grabbed you by the arm and forced you against him placing a hand in front of your mouth.
You clawed his arm, trying to hurt him as much as possible but that didn't seem to move in the least. Just as if you were a stupid butterfly in a spider's web.
Tears came to your eyes and you didn't bother letting them run down your cheeks and on the hand of your kidnapper.
Distracted and desperate, you couldn't even notice that the red-eyed accomplice had bent over you and raised the blade right in front of his lips.
"You used so much discretion when you let us in, Miss, let's keep it, okay?"

Yeah, I know.I still don't know how to use verbs properly but try to understand, I'm an Italian girl who still has some difficulty with English.
Let's say that by writing this story, I keep myself trained.
Please let me know what you think because I am going to continue it for an audience, not just myself.

nothing's sweeter than summertime and american honey
(written under the influence)
(also on ao3)
lena thinks she might be hallucinating, because there is no way kara danvers is skateboarding in the luthor family pool.
wait. go back a step.
why is the luthor family pool empty??
it’s the second last week of summer, and lena stands on the back porch, her arms now self-consciously folded across her half-naked body. she stares in confusion as kara danvers appears on one side of the pool and then promptly disappears, only to pop up at the other end moments later.
‘kara, can you quit it?’ comes a gruff, familiar voice. alex danvers from ap bio is fiddling with some pool equipment at the edge of the yard. ‘this is a huge job for dad and you’re gonna get us fired.’ neither girl has noticed lena yet, for which she is very thankful.
‘take a chill pill,’ comes kara’s reply. ‘you just wanna finish quickly so you can go see maggie.’
even from her distance, lena can see how red alex’s face goes. ‘shut up! we’re just friends.’
kara snorts. ‘sure, jt and britney are also “just friends.” just admit you like her.’
lena assumes they’re talking about maggie sawyer, who had transferred into alex’s grade late last year. alex grumbles something in response that isn’t a denial, and lena feels her heart soar. alex danvers is a l-- she likes girls?? lena bites her lip.
this summer has been a nightmare of loneliness, even more so than usual. her mother hasn’t been home in a month and lex had flown in yesterday and spent the day with her, only to fly out early this morning before she woke up. she’s spent the summer sending emails to her penpal jack, lazing by the pool, and clearing her search history of questionable googles. she’s also been grappling with a huge secret, something she can’t tell anybody (not that she has anybody to tell in the first place.) her secret is this: she really wants to kiss somebody. and that somebody happens to be in her grade. and that somebody happens to be a girl.
it happens to be the girl who is now skateboarding in the suspiciously empty luthor pool, the girl who’s impossibly smart and funny and kind. the only person at Midvale High who’s not seemingly shit scared of lena.
the realization has been haunting her all summer, refusing to give her a single moment of peace. and now, knowing that alex is, is also like she is, and hearing the way kara gently teases her about it... well, lena doesn’t feel as lonely anymore. she wants to say hello to the sisters, to ask alex a million questions and ask kara how her summer is going and if she wants to maybe, like, hang out together or something. but just the thought of either thing makes lena’s heart race uncomfortably fast and her mouth go all dry. she turns around and slams open the sliding glass door, but apparently she doesn’t know her own strength. as she steps into the doorway, the door ricochets against the the end of its track and bounces back, hitting her in the side of the head.
‘FUCK,’ she screams, before turning white and whirling around.
both danvers sisters are staring at her. kara looks concerned and alex looks livid.
‘yo, luthor,’ kara calls out. ‘you okay?’
lena wants to say yes, but then she feels something sticky on her temple, and brushes her hand against it.
great. she’s bleeding.
next thing she knows kara has her sitting on one of the deck chairs, and lena’s not sure if she’s got a concussion or if kara just looks extra.... phenomenal today. she’s wearing a basketball jersey and shorts and lena keeps catching glimpses of her sports bra. kara takes off her baseball cap and wipes her brow.
lena frowns. ‘you cut your hair.’
kara’s gorgeous long hair is no longer, instead it’s short around the sides with a messy tuft on top.
‘you don’t like it?’ kara asks, running her hand through it.
‘it looks... dope,’ she replies, immediately regretting her choice of words.
‘i did it out of solidarity with alex,’ kara says, grinning. ‘she wanted to get a buzz cut but she was a bit self conscious.’
alex comes back into view, carrying a first aid kit with her. her hair, too, is shorter than lena remembers it being. alex cleans up the side of lena’s head.
‘look, i don’t think you have a concussion, but you can hang out with kara and i while we finish the pool and i can keep an eye on you.’
‘alex is a junior EMT now,’ kara says proudly. ‘she’s also pretty much single handedly running our dad’s pool company this summer.’
right. the pool. that’s why they’re here.
‘why were you skateboarding in it?’ lena asks.
‘it won’t leave any marks,’ alex says quickly. ‘i promise. don’t worry about a thing.’
‘no,’ lena says, wincing as alex keeps prodding her tender head. ‘i mean, why is it empty in the first place?’
alex averts her eyes. ‘it was empty when we got here. we just gave it a scrub and an acid wash to get rid of some of the, uh, stains at the bottom.’
okay. lena thinks she knows what that means. and it also explains why lex left so early this morning. he fucking killed someone in the pool and needs to clean up after himself. fuck. she’s so damn stupid, thinking he’d actually come home to spend time with her. and she feels so embarrassed, having to explain how she’s used to her brother killing people so she’s not surprised or shocked by this.
kara lays a hand on her shoulder and smiles down at her. lena thinks she’s about to comfort her in some way, and she feels her heart start to race again.
‘can i grab something to eat?’ is what kara says instead, and lena’s face falls at the same time Alex whacks her sister’s arm.
‘kara, that’s unprofessional.’ but lena just smiles.
‘what do you want?’
///
lena didn’t think her day would be spent watching the danvers sisters fill her pool and eat sandwiches prepared by bertha the luthors’ cook, but here she is. kara sits on the grass across from lena, her toes digging into the green grass. she has what lena can only assume is a birkenstocks foot tan -- four fat white strips of skin on an otherwise perfectly browned body.
the pool is filling behind them, and alex sits on the other side of the yard, whispering into her cell phone.
‘how’s your summer been?’ kara asks with a mouthful of turkey sandwich.
‘quiet,’ lena replies. ‘my family’s been busy and not around much. i’ve hung out with our staff, but i don’t think it counts if they’re paid to spend time with you.’ she laughs, trying to detract from how sad it sounds. ‘how is yours?’
‘busy. my dad’s been, uh, he’s sick. so alex and i have been doing all the pool jobs. not much time to hang out with friends.’
‘and alex... she’s... with maggie sawyer?’
kara chokes on her sandwich.
swallowing painfully, she lowers her voice. ‘could you, like, not say anything? i was teasing her and she’s freaking out because she’s not sure if you heard anything or not and it’s still... new and our parents don’t really know and if the school finds out---’
‘don’t worry,’ lena assures her. ‘i won’t say a word.’ her chest swells at the way kara smiles gratefully and lena realises she’s an absolute goner, head over heels for someone who could never like her back. lena almost wants to tell her the truth. maybe it’s the sun beating down on them or the welcoming scratch of grass against her legs or the summer feeling that has finally settled over luthor mansion. but before she can say anything, alex calls out.
‘kara, come help me finish treating the water!’
///
‘it should be good for swimming after about twenty four hours,’ alex says, packing the last of their equipment into the truck. lena hands them both the envelope lex had left, plus a hefty tip for each of them.
‘we can’t accept this,’ kara says, shoving the notes back into lena’s hand. alex doesn’t follow suit.
‘don’t be dumb,’ lena rolls her eyes. ‘my brother left it here for you, and i don’t want it.’ she hands it back to kara, who pockets it angrily. alex looks pleased her sister’s conscience hasn’t cost her the cash.
they climb into the truck and it rumbles to life.
‘catch you later, luthor,’ alex says, giving her a little salute.
‘hey,’ lena says, before she can talk herself out of it. ‘did you guys wanna come hang out tomorrow? the pool’s all clean and it feels like it’s a waste if i’m the only one using it. and you can bring ma-- a friend, if you’d like,’ she directs the last part to just alex.
alex’s eyes bore straight through her, trying to size her up.
‘we should be finished work by the afternoon,’ she says finally. ‘we’ll see you then?’
lena grins. ‘awesome.’
///
the last few weeks of summer fly by with a new routine in place. the danvers sisters finish work in the early afternoon and make their way to lena’s house, picking up maggie on the way. they lounge around the pool and bertha makes them mountains of food and her husband michael teaches them how to barbecue and lena finally understands what summer is supposed to feel like.
alex and maggie give up whatever pretense they were holding onto a few days into the routine, holding hands and stealing kisses whenever they thought the others weren’t looking. kara pretends to be grossed out but lena sees the happy gleam in her eyes as she does so. she wonders if kara can see the wistful look in hers.
spending time with kara feels like a dream. she tries to teach lena how to skateboard on the long, winding driveway that leads up to the house. lena stands as rigid as can be on the board and kara holds onto her waist and guides her along, assuring her that she won’t fall, catching her when she inevitably does. in return, lena teaches kara the basics of fencing because kara seems oddly excited to learn, and it’s the only thing that lena can actually teach her. kara’s skill-set seems exhaustive and incredulous. it’s like she’s a superhero or something. after just a couple of afternoons of practice, she’s better than some of the people lena’s been fencing with for years.
kara, lena is learning, is impossibly great. like, she’s known that for years; they’ve been in the same homeroom for two years, and are in lots of other classes together. she’s seen kara’s brain in action, and her humor and her kindness. but now she’s learned of a different kara, one that isn’t always in a great mood, one that isn’t always trying to please people.
kara still has walls up, lena’s sure of it, but she’s letting lena into the inner fortress, one layer at a time. and in turn, lena welcomes kara into her own heart, desperate to know the girl, and in turn, be known by her.
///
‘you know i’m... i’m... gay, right?’
it’s the first time lena’s said it out loud, and the sound of it alone makes her feel warm and comfortable in a way she’s never imagined. it’s a few days before school goes back and they’re floating alone in the pool -- maggie and alex taking the afternoon for themselves. she doesn’t quite know why she’s telling kara; maybe it’s because she knows how accepting kara is of alex and maggie, maybe it’s because she needs kara to figure out her big, overwhelming feelings.
‘i didn’t know,’ kara says with a small smile. ‘but thank you for telling me. i’m glad you feel comfortable enough to tell me.’
‘nobody else knows,’ lena confesses. ‘i mean, i barely know. i only really figured it out earlier in the summer.’
‘what made you realise?’ kara asks, before shaking her head. ‘sorry. you don’t have to answer that.’
‘it’s okay... i just... i realised that the feelings i had for this girl felt more... urgent? than i’ve felt about people before? like, i needed to be near her in a way i don’t usually need to be around friends.’
‘what’s she like?’ kara asks, and lena blushes.
‘she’s beautiful. and she’s wickedly smart. i feel like she would’ve been a handful as a kid, but she’s learned how to balance out that recklessness a bit. and she makes me laugh a lot.’
‘she sounds great,’ kara says, and lena laughs.
‘you have no idea.’
a lull settles between them as they float side by side. the sun begins to disappear behind the woods at the back of the property, and with it goes the warmth of day.
‘you know...’ kara says. ‘alex told me she thought you were gay. said she got a vibe.’
‘really?’ lena doesn’t know if she should be embarrassed or scared or proud.
‘yeah. she also said something else.’
‘what’s that?’
kara leans forward, no longer floating on her back. lena does the same and faces her.
‘she said... she said she thinks you like me.’
lena wonders if drowning herself is a viable way to get out of this conversation. or maybe she can just... swim to the other side of the pool.
‘lena?’ kara prompts.
‘yes?’
‘is she. is alex. is she right?’
lena looks at the water, unable to meet kara’s eyes.
‘yes.’ she says, in an impossibly small voice.
kara closes the space between them. she rests a finger under lena’s chin and tilts her head up. lena bites her lip as she looks into kara’s annoyingly blue eyes.
and before she can register anything else, kara is kissing her. she tastes like chlorine and sunscreen and cola lipsmacker and lena has never tasted anything quite as good. lena’s hands find kara’s neck and kara’s find lena’s hips and they stay like that -- making out in the pool -- until the sun is no longer in the sky and they’re both just slightly shivering.
‘do you want,’ lena says, slightly breathless. ‘do you wanna maybe go up to my room?’
kara grins and kisses her again, chaste and quick. ‘can we stop by the kitchen first?’

Growing Together - Chapter Seven - Storms and Earthquakes
Author’s Note: A special thank you to @aim170, for the beautiful quote. I hope you enjoy the chapter.
He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water,
Which yields its fruits in its season
And its leaf does not wither;
And in whatever he does, he prospers.
Psalm 1:3
Victor had heard many life stories filled with hardship and sorrow that usually ended with the protagonist rising above it all. He had heard more than he could count, but the one that warmed his heart the most was the one of the woman with whom he was sharing a bed.
He had said it before, and he would say it again: Andrea was a tree. He hadn’t seen the abuse, but he had witnessed her valiantly take everything that made her life ugly and turn it into beauty with love, perseverance and a touch of stubbornness. He watched her as she faced all the seasons, with courage and faith, and he was the one that sat beneath her luscious branches and ate from her fruit, proud to see her still standing tall, even after the wind, rain, and snow.
For that, and so much more, he loved her. There was nothing he wouldn’t in the name of love. And this was important to her. This was her lifelong dream, the thing she wanted the most, so he would give it to her. He wanted nothing more than to see his tree grow, thicken her trunk and stretch her branches to the sky, embellishing the landscape with her vibrant leaves and beautiful flowers.
When she mentioned the fertility clinic in Switzerland, he carefully read every piece of literature she provided, along with the information obtained by his private investigators. She led him to that doctor’s office and he gladly followed, with a patient smile on his face, open-minded and cooperative, even though his heart was filled with worry.
He listened to the doctor explain how Andrea would receive newly developed hormonal shots to stimulate ovulation, and how her eggs would be fertilized and inserted inside a surrogate womb. That woman would stay under the clinic’s care, and they would be informed of every step in their child’s growth and health. Victor had already prepared a set of questions to ask the doctor, and he posed every single one of them and remained receptive, although surrogacy was something that made him extremely uneasy.
When the doctor left them to discuss their options, Andrea looking at him with pleading eyes, Victor had no choice but to hold her lovingly and kiss her. He walked into that room filled with distasteful porn magazines and ignored them, making love to his wife in his mind instead. She didn’t even need to make her case, she had already won.
The first injection barely had any consequences. Andrea spent the majority of the first day sleeping, probably due to jet lag as well, only mentioning some mild nausea. After the second injection, however, Andrea’s health took a turn for the worse. Victor found her kneeling by the toilet late that night, heaving painfully, her face swollen due to the effort. Her body soon followed, to the point where Andrea found it hard to button her pants or even walk, due to her swollen feet.
Victor brought her every kind of meal he could think of, in hopes of finding something that she could keep in her stomach, only to see her run to the bathroom minutes later to empty it. While she slept, the only thing that seemed to bring her any kind of comfort, Victor would call the doctor, worried that, in the attempt of creating life, Andrea was actually killing herself.
Every night, every single night, he would ask her if she wanted to quit the treatment and fly home. Every single time he would tell her he loved her, that she was all he needed, that their life of two was already more than he ever imagined for himself. He would try to talk her out of it, saying that he didn’t like seeing her make herself sick like that, that he wanted nothing more than his wife happy and healthy. And every time she would put on a strong face, tell him it was not that bad, that she wanted to keep trying. Victor found himself with no choice but to kiss her forehead, secretly checking for fever, only to tell her to get ready for another injection. He would clench his shaking hand to steady it, torn between the feeling that he was helping her make her dream come true and simultaneously making her sick.
The day after the last injection she started eating again, preparing herself for the next phase. The color returned to her cheeks, as well as some of her energy. That allowed Victor to feel some relief, even though the concern never went away. The first battle was over, but the war was yet to be won.
He held her hand lovingly as the medical staff put her under anesthesia, promising her that his would be the last face she would see as she fell asleep, and the first one when she woke up. He never left her side. He witnessed the doctors take from her eight eggs, the seeds that would make one baby hers, and take them to the laboratory for fertilization. He stroked her curls as she slept off the medicine, knowing she would wake up with anxious eyes and a heart full of questions. He would be prepared for all of them, and he would soothe any worry in her heart. The ground was shaking violently under his tree, making her shake due to the consequences of abuse, so he would keep her rooted.
Victor watched as her eyelids fluttered open, a groggy look on her face. His face was the first thing she saw. And his hand on hers was the first thing she felt. He gave her a soft smile.
“When are we starting?” She was still half-asleep. Victor chuckled at his sleepyhead of a wife.
“It’s already finished.” His hand caressed her face, like he could remove the remnants of the drug-induced sleep. “It went very well. They collected eight eggs.”
Andrea started to fidget. Victor’s hand rested on her chest, steadying her.
“Are you in pain? The doctors said you could experience some soreness or cramps.”
“I’m fine, I just need some help sitting.” Victor’s hands immediately rested on her waist and back, supporting her as she tried to sit up. “They just collected eight? They said fifteen was the go-to number.”
“It’s an estimate, they don’t need fifteen eggs. They just need one good egg.” Victor squeezed her hand lovingly. “They are on fertilization as we speak.”
“So it went well? We are going to have a baby?” Her eyes filled with tears. “Is this really happening?”
“It appears so.” Victor smiled, trying to hide his concern.
In all honesty, he should have told her that she should wait, she shouldn’t hope this much, this battle wasn’t over, they weren’t winners yet. But that was the grey, dark, cynical part of him, which used to be all of him before she came into his life. When she did come, she filled his life with sunshine, flowers, branches heavy with leaves, the cool shade for his aching heart, so much in need of a place to rest. He couldn’t repay her with shades of grey when she needed light. So he allowed her to hope, a bit selfishly, because her colors made his colors so much more vibrant, the world becoming a better place when she had a smile on her face and hope in her eyes.
So he wiped away her happy tears and allowed himself to laugh with her, feeling his heart also becoming lighter. That was the power of her smile.
Unfortunately, her happiness would be short-lived. The doctor appeared shortly after, a grim look on his face, making Andrea’s smile fade instantly. Victor took her hand again, offering her his strength.
“Is something wrong?” Andrea questioned before Victor could, and he could swear he felt something shaking in her core.
“I’m just returning from the laboratory.” The doctor explained. “The procedure was a success, however, upon more thorough analysis, we came to conclude the eggs aren’t healthy enough to undergo fertilization.”
There was a long pause. Victor and the doctor were expecting Andrea’s reaction.
“Well, ok.” She nodded after a long deep breath. “We’ll try again, then. We can return next month and-”
“Mrs. Lee.” The doctor interrupted her, and Andrea drew in a ragged breath. “I am so very sorry to tell you this, but despite our previous assessment, your ovaries may not be as healthy as we thought. If we stimulate ovulation again, there is no guarantee that the next eggs will be viable, and doing so could lead to dire consequences to your health. I can’t in good conscience advise that.”
Again, the room fell silent. Andrea’s eyes focused on the comforter covering her legs and she remained still, reactionless. It was Victor that broke the silence.
“Thank you, doctor. My wife and I will reassess our situation and figure out the next course of action.” He looked at her, hoping for her to return his gaze. She didn’t. “She may be released today?”
“Yes, she will be more comfortable at home. I’ll come back in an hour with her release papers and to perform a final examination.”
Finally alone, Victor waited patiently for her to speak. She seemed to be taking a long time forming the words, her eyes watering, sadness seemingly building a deep pit inside her, and she was falling. He took her chin in his hand and made her face him, letting her know he was there, he wouldn’t let her fall.
“We can get an egg donor.” She finally surfaced from her thoughts. “I don’t care if it doesn’t have my DNA, it will still-”
“No.” Victor stopped her.
“Victor, we-”
“No.” He reinforced. “Either it’s from both of us, or it won’t happen.”
“Didn’t you hear the doctor? Mine aren’t...” Her voice failed. He hated to be the one giving the final blow that would crush her dream, but he wouldn’t want a child from another woman. Andrea was the woman he loved.
“Andy…” His voice was soft. “It’s over.” Victor’s heart broke as he spoke the words. He hated to be the one giving the final blow that would crush her dream, but he wouldn’t want a child from another woman. Andrea was the woman he loved.
“That’s it?” She looked down, her brows furrowing in disbelief. “We lost?”
“I’m sorry.” He wiped one of the tears that fell. He hated to see her cry. He wanted to give her everything she could possibly dream of, but it was painstakingly obvious that somethings can’t be bought.
“I should be the one apologizing.” Her voice trembled once more. “I’m the one with a broken body, I’m the one who can’t conceive a child.”
Victor pulled her closer to him. Andrea quickly broke the embrace.
“A hug won’t help. It won’t change the fact that I’m malfunctioning. It won’t ease the fact that I’m a disgrace of a woman, of a wife, I can’t give you a family. And it’s just so unfair!” She smacked the comforter in rage. “I don’t get it, women get pregnant all the time without even wanting to. Why can’t I? Why, Victor?” She turned to him, her eyes full of pain.
“Andy…” He tried to caress her, only to have her evade his touch.
“No! I don’t need comforting, I need answers!” She yelled at him, her emotions out of control. “I want to know, if there is a God, why would he do this to me! Why does he think that it’s fair that some women give their kids away or mistreat them, and I have to suffer through this! We would be such great parents; we have so much love to give, we have the means, the education, everything to make it work. You would be such a great father, we could be such a happy tight family, and I WANT IT SO FREAKING BAD, WHY CAN’T IT HAPPEN?”
The ground was shaking harder, stones coming to surface, her core shaking violently, and all Victor could do was watch. He could hear the storm rumbling inside her chest, the heavy rain taking away the ground, leaving her roots exposed. For a moment, he didn’t know how to stop it.
“This is all my fault! I let that asshole into my life, let him beat me into a worthless piece of crap, who can’t do something as simple as PRODUCE ONE SIMPLE DAMN GOOD EGG, LET ALONE BEAR A CHILD!”
Victor couldn’t stand it anymore. Pulling her towards him quite forcefully, he buried her face in his chest, holding tight to his tree. He would not let her roots be released from the earth. He wouldn’t let her topple over. He would face the storm with her. She wasn’t alone.
“Enough of that!” He commanded the storm. “I understand you are hurting, that you are disappointed, but you are never to speak about yourself in that manner again, do you understand me?” His voice spoke powerful and low in her ear, perhaps a little more sternly than he intended. “You are the most amazing woman I have met in my life; you are so far from being worthless. And you are not a disgraceful wife, you purposefully made yourself sick so I could have a chance at becoming a father. I’ve never had anyone in my life go to such lengths for me, ever! It’s only fair that you are sad, more than legitimate to be angry, but not at yourself, do you hear me?” He pushed her shoulders back and leaned his forehead against her, making her face him. “I understand that you feel like throwing punches, and the world does deserve some of them, but never at yourself! Am I clear?”
Her body shook with sobs, and she finally let herself be properly held. Victor kept her pressed to him,  so close that for a moment he feared she would suffocate. He could feel the rain beating hard against her now naked roots, threatening to wash her away, as the earth broke beneath her. He wouldn’t let it happen. They would weather the storm together; he would allow no rain, thunder or lightning to ruin the most beautiful thing in his world. And at that moment, he too became a tree, and he buried his roots deep in the ground, entangling them with hers.

(Not So) Secret Letters
word count: 2010
pairing: scorpius malfoy x rose weasley (harry potter)
A soon-to-be sixth year Scorpius Malfoy had his fair share of troubles. He had a healthy stack of homework he had yet to do (and school was starting in two weeks), the summer was too hot for him to bear, and the Potters and Weasleys were on vacation. Especially the latter. He had been so bored the entire summer without Albus to accompany him. Of course, there was his father, but he was so busy at the Ministry that it made Scorpius wonder how Harry, Ron, and Hermione had managed to catch a two-month break.
So yeah, he missed Albus and their stupid little adventures. No one else. Just Albus.
The blonde boy rubbed his hands over his face and groaned. Who was he kidding? He missed his best friend, of course, but there was also Rose Granger-Weasley. A beautiful, charming, and feisty Rose Granger-Weasley.
She was...perfect. She had a mesmerizing smile that rivaled the sun in its brightness. Her laugh was like music to his ears. It was adorable when she would bite her lower lip when thinking. Even her scowls made her appear more attractive.
And there he goes again, staring off into space thinking about her. The boy sighed. He liked her too much for his own good. It drove him crazy that he couldn’t see her until September 1st, and the first was still so long away.
Still so long away regarding Rose, yes, but not so long away considering his pile of homework, the dutiful student part of him thought.
Shut up, conscience, he retorted.
Oh god. Did he really start arguing with himself inside his head? Scorpius shook his head. What was wrong with him? (He knew perfectly well what was wrong; he was lovesick. But knowing that didn’t mean that he had to admit it.)
“Ugh. School’s starting in two weeks and I’ve barely touched my homework. Dad’s gonna tell me off again,” muttered Scorpius as he lifelessly flopped back down onto his bed.
At that exact moment, a noise from his window decided to interrupt his quite depressing monologue. The blonde lifted his head to the right slightly, before hurriedly heading towards his window. It his haste he almost tripped over something on the floor, but he didn’t bat an eye.
It’s Albus’s owl!
He eagerly opened the window, and in came Arthur, his best friend’s owl. It carried an envelope, and after tearing it apart, Scorpius discovered a postcard. He smiled fondly. It was sweet of Albus to send something to him.
Wait.
If Albus could send stuff to him, then...couldn’t he do the same?
Scorpius almost face palmed. It was so obvious! He could’ve just sent letters to Albus via owl from the start.
As Arthur was about to take off, Scorpius hurriedly closed the window. The owl looked over, and Scorpius shot it an apologetic smile. From the postcard, it seemed like they were in Scotland for their vacation. Of course, it was definitely closer than many other locations in the world, but flying back and forth probably took a toll on the poor animal. He made a mental note to give it a treat later.
Excited, Scorpius sat down at his desk and pulled out some parchment, a quill, and ink. Sometimes he preferred to write with the Muggle pen, but his handwriting looked a lot prettier with a quill and ink.
The letter to Albus was quick and easy; just a summary of his boring summer and how much he wished he was with Albus. They were best friends; he didn’t need to put everything into words for them to understand each other.
Now, the one for Rose. There wasn’t a single doubt in his mind in regards to writing to the red-head. It was only a matter of how. The blonde boy wasn’t blind; he had seen how annoyed Rose was whenever he tried to talk to her at school (although he’s sure that she’s slowly warming up to him with time). Chances were, no matter how harsh it sounded, the girl was probably going to throw the letter away when she read the “from Scorpius” on the envelope. So, he decided he was just going to have to write it anonymously.
Dear Rose,
Hello.
I hope you are having a wonderful summer. I happened to hear that you were on vacation in Scotland. I’ve been there before, years ago. It was quite a lovely place overall.
You probably aren’t interested, but for me, summer this year has been quite boring. The sun shines all day, yet it seems a little dimmer than usual, for I don’t see you. The sun is no match compared to your smile. When I take a walk outside, the vibrant flowers remind me of your hair. The wind reminds me of that day last year at the Quidditch finals. It was pouring, the rainwater being accompanied by the sounds of thunder and the streaks of lightning. You almost fell off of your broom because of the gusts of wind, and I was so relieved when you managed to stay on. It was quite an exhilarating match, and Gryffindor definitely deserved the win. I think I’ve never seen you happier when your team received the trophy. It was a beautiful sight.
When I try to work on my homework, the bookish smell reminds me of you. My thoughts are filled with you to the point that I can’t focus on the homework. It’s no wonder you smell like parchment and ink; I feel like your nose is always in a book, except when you’re playing Quidditch. (I’m not saying it’s bad; I personally love the smell!)
All in all, I can’t wait for the school year to start. Merely a look at you is enough to make my day.
Sincerely,
Your Secret Admirer
Before his thoughts could convince him otherwise, Scorpius enclosed both of his letters into their individual envelopes, simply writing a “To Albus Potter” and “To Rose Granger-Weasley” on each. After attaching it to Arthur, the owl flew away, leaving behind an anticipating Scorpius Malfoy who was wondering if this was such a good idea after all.
☆彡
Rose awoke to the sound of knocking at her hotel room door. Glancing down at her watch, she was even more annoyed to discover that it was five a.m. Sure, she woke up at ungodly hours like this often when at Hogwarts, but this was summer vacation and she was having none of it.
“Go away, I’m trying to sleep,” she cried meekly, pulling the covers over her head in a fruitless attempt to block out the noise.
“Rose, it’s me,” said a voice she knew all too well. “There’s mail for you.”
“You’d think that it would make more sense to give me this at breakfast, but no, gotta give me this at five a.m. in the morning,” muttered Rose, walking over to the door. She was tempted to just ignore him and go back to sleep, but the thought of something arriving from one of her friends was more than enough to convince her to get up. Plus, it was Albus. She always found it hard to say no to the green-eyed boy.
Opening the door, Rose found a yawning Albus on the other side of it. He smiled down at her before handing her an envelope.
“Here,” he said.
“You know you could have picked a better time, right?”
He merely laughed. “I was afraid I might forget it later.”
“Yeah, right.” Albus was incredibly thoughtful and attentive, and the girl knew it. He wouldn’t forget to give her something. She guessed he just wanted her to have it as soon as possible. “Thanks,” she added.
“It’s nothing. See you later.”
Rose closed the door and settled back onto her bed. After examining the envelope closer, the only thing written on it was “To Rose Granger-Weasley.” It didn’t even say who it was from.
Weird.
With the first few sentences, Rose was confused and slightly concerned. Did she have to deal with another stalker on top of that Malfoy? But after she was finished, she could conclude that this was from Scorpius himself.
That idiot, she smiled to herself with a slight smile. He just doesn’t know when to quit, does he? And this whole anonymous thing is so lame. It’s not really hard to figure who this “secret admirer” person is. Plus, I recognize his handwriting.
It was stupid, but it was sweet.
The red-head shook her head. Sweet?! Since when did I think Scorpius Malfoy, of all people, was sweet?! My brain needs to stop working.
So, Scorpius being (not) sweet aside, Rose decides she might as well humor him by writing back.
Dear My Apparent Secret Admirer,
I would just like to express my gratitude that you seem to think of me quite excessively. No words could possibly express how flattered I am by your delightful compliments. However, as prefect, I would like to remind you to finish all of the homework that you have been assigned over the break. I think it would be quite a sight to behold to see you receive detention before even a single week of school has passed just because you failed to complete a reasonable amount of assignments in the span of over two-and-a-half months, most of which I’m sure you have wasted by doing nothing productive.
I am pleased to read of your recognition for the Gryffindor Quidditch team, although I have to admit that last match wasn’t exactly the most “exhilarating” by far. The current Slytherin team seems to lack a bit of talent and skill in regards to their Chasers, and their Keeper, the only good player, might I add, had received a fairly troublesome injury a week prior to the match, and subsequently had to be replaced by a far inferior player.
I myself am also looking forward to going back to Hogwarts. I believe that if you put as much effort as you do thinking of me into your schoolwork, you will no doubt become one of the top students of your year. Just some friendly advice.
Yours Truly,
Rose Granger-Weasley
Satisfied with her letter, Rose gave it to her owl to deliver it. All she had to do now was wait. She was looking forward to Scorpius’s reply.
A smile blossomed onto her face as the girl looked out the window, her mind filled with a certain blonde boy with gray eyes.
☆彡
Scorpius glanced up from an essay that he could care less about at the now familiar pecking sound.
To hell with homework. Rose is more important.
The boy eagerly opened the window and received the letter. Even before reading its contents, a smile made its way onto his face.
The two teenagers had been communicating for a week at this point. Aside from getting put off by the first letter, the experience had been pleasant for Scorpius. He had managed to learn a lot more about Rose (and managed to fall even more in love, if that was possible), and he found himself looking forward to these letters everyday. And Rose seemed to buy the fact that he was some random person who liked her. Made the process a lot easier. He sometimes wondered what her reaction would be if she discovered that it was him she was writing to all along.
For some odd reason, Scorpius doesn’t think it’ll end well, and decides to never tell Rose about this.
It’ll be his own special memory, and even if she never knows, it’s enough for him.
☆彡
(Turns out luck isn’t by his side, for Rose broke the news to him that she knew all along that it was him she was writing to a week into school, and made it her life mission to tease him about it every chance she got. Scorpius swore he forgot how it felt like to not be blushing that school year. The only positive was that they were dating by April.)
☆彡
This is my first story on tumblr, hope it wasn’t too bad hahaha. Constructive criticism is always welcome!

BTS Reaction: You accidentally confess to them
Tumblr media
‘Spilling the goods’ means confess right? 😂 26 going on 86 over here.
Namjoon
Tumblr media
You were sick and Namjoon came over to take care of you, he was so worried about you. He walked in the door and saw you laying in bed with tons of blankets curled around you. You were so exhausted and out of it you barely noticed he was in the room with you. He fluffed up your pillows for you and made you some soup and hot tea. He came into the bedroom and lifted you up in his arms and placed you down on the couch so you could eat. You were still a little delirious from all the cold medicine you had taken and the words just slipped out. “You always take such good care of me Joonie. I love you so much.” You leaned your head onto his shoulder and he just froze. He heard you lightly snoring next to him and he wrapped his arm around your waist and laid you down on his lap. He ran his fingers through your hair as you slept. “I love you too. But maybe I’ll tell you when you’re feeling better so you actually remember.”
Jin
Tumblr media
Jin was laughing with you hysterically at a funny story you had just told. Without even thinking the words just came spilling out. “See this is why I like you, our personalities match so well together and we have the same type of humor. I can’t remember the last time I laughed so hard.” Jin stopped laughing and just stared at you. “You like me?” “Uh.. I mean. Maybe? Yeah? A lot?” He leans in and kisses your forehead. “Oh my gosh I’ve had a crush on you since the day we met and you mean to tell me you like me too? I really had nothing to worry about?” “I guess so Jin.” You wink at him and blow him a kiss. He dramatically throws you a flying kiss and yells out “I found my soulmate!”
Yoongi
Tumblr media
You and Yoongi were sat on the couch watching TV together. It wasn’t unusual for you to be cuddly with one another, neither of you mentioning the intense butterflies you both get in your stomach whenever your hands brushed against each other. Yoongi was tightly holding his hand in your own when he quietly mumbled, “I like holding your hand.” Without even thinking as you were half paying attention to the movie you blurted out “I just like you.” You felt Yoongi’s hand grip tighter on your own and you realized what you had said. “I-I mean,” “Please don’t take it back. I really like you too and it’s going to hurt if you tell me you didn’t mean it.” You picked up his hand and kissed the back of it, comforting him and showing him that you did in fact mean what you said. Even if the confession was accidental it didn’t make it any less true.
Hoseok
Tumblr media
You were texting Namjoon, not realizing that Hoseok had sent you a message in the process and you had somehow accidentally switched over to his conversation. The message you meant to be typing to Namjoon sent to Hoseok instead. I really do like Hobi Namjoon, I’m just not ready to tell him yet because if he doesn’t like me back then it’s really going to hurt me. Hoseok couldn’t help but smile at your message. He does like you, so much. He texts you back instantly. I’m not Namjoon sweetheart. But I do really like you too. Can I come over so we can talk in person. I don’t want to fully confess to you through a text message. You blush furiously and call him. “I’m so sorry Hoseok!” “It’s okay y/n! Really! I am so happy you made that mistake and texted me.” “To answer your question yes you can come over now. I’m home, I’ll leave the front door unlocked.”
Jimin
Tumblr media
Jimin was very physically affectionate how were you not supposed to fall in love with him? He was so sweet and took amazing care of you. He was always so gentle with you and every time he smiled at you it made your stomach do somersaults. You two were laying in bed, Jimin had his arms wrapped tightly around your waist. You were drifting off to sleep when you mumbled something. “What was that baby?” “Love.. Jimin. Love.. you Jiminie.” He immediately shot up in bed and the sudden jolt woke you. “Jimin? What’s wrong?” “Did you mean that or was that just your sleepy brain talking?” “What? What are you talking about?” “You just told me that you loved me.” He took his hand and cupped your cheek making you look into his eyes. “Did you mean that?” “Of course I meant it Jimin. I’ve been in love with you since the first day we met. I was just too scared to confess but I guess my sub-conscience did it for me.” He leans in and presses a soft kiss to your lips. “I love you too.”
Taehyung
Tumblr media
Taehyung had been teasing you all day. First he took your headphones and hid them from you because he thought you were ‘cute when you were frustrated’. Then he snatched your phone from you and held it above his head so you couldn’t reach it, claiming that ‘you weren’t paying enough attention to him.’ And now he had you pinned against the floor as he was mercilessly tickling you because he thought ‘your laugh was adorable.’ He was flirting with you that was no surprise to you, he did it all the time but he also did so with his other friends so you didn’t even think anything of it. However during your fit of giggles from his tickling, your brain blurted out the first thing that came to mind. “I swear to god Tae sometimes I wonder why I like you so much when you annoy me half to death!” That gets him to stop. Now he gets a smirk on his face as he leans closer to you. “You like me jagi? Tell me how much.” “T-Tae you’re too close.” “Mmm no I think I’m fine right here where I am at. Tell me you like me and I’ll move.” “I like you okay? As more than a friend now please get off you’re crushing me.” He shifts his weight so he is hovering over you as he places a kiss to your cheek and then your ear. You feel his breath on your ear as he whisper that he likes you too. Very much.
Jungkook
Tumblr media
Jungkook knew how tired you were. He had picked you up from your job and took you out to dinner to treat you and help you feel better. After you two had finished eating you couldn’t get up from the table because you were so sleepy. “I can’t move Jungkook. I’m too tired just leave me here and they can roll me out the front door I’ll sleep on the sidewalk.” “No way! I am not leaving you like that now come here.” He leans down so you can jump on his back. He carries you the whole way home and doesn’t complain about it once. He even opens his front door for you and tucks you into bed. When he goes to walk away you grab onto his hand. “You always take such good care of me Kookie. It means so much to me and I love you that much more for it.” You were half asleep and tired out of your mind so he wasn’t quite sure if you meant it, but it made his heart leap into his stomach. He tried pulling away from you but your grip tightened on his hand. “Stay. Please?” He’s so weak for you and he can’t say no. He crawls into bed with you and you snuggle close to him. He has the biggest smile on his face and he can’t wait to tell you about this and find out if you actually meant it or if you were just half asleep and delirious. When you told him the next morning that you did mean it he spent the day in bed with you, holding you and placing soft kisses wherever his lips could reach.

Dead Apple Novel Info/Trivia:
There are some inconsistencies in the movie, but that’s actually because some things aren’t explained. In the novel because the inside of the characters are protrayed too so there’s some better explanations.
So I thought I would share them here as well(kinda random and kinda what I have picked up so far): DEAD APPLE SPOILERS
Soukoku Scene related Info:
In the novel it is stated that //"That blockhead Dazai is in there. There's no mistake" What Chuuya was looking at was the giant dragon surrounding Yokohama. The fact that Dazai was in there, Chuuya felt that (by instict) //Aka Chuuya knew it!!! He knew Dazai's plan and trusted him with his life!! HE BELIEVED AT HIM!!! This woke me up so much!!!
The helicopter Chuuya was riding was flying above the mist so it wouldn't affect them. After Chuuya jumped down the mist didn't affect him because he was pushing it away using gravity!!! //proud this boy has such good control of it now ;;
(funfact?) If anyone was wondering where the knife Dazai was stabbed with went, it came out when Chuuya punched Dazai!!! //Can we guess Chuuya realised that even while in Corruption and used gravity to push it out?? XD jkjk
Chuuya wasn't surprised at all when he heard Dazai's voice (who was supposed to be dead) [referring to the midari scene] //I cry Chuuya trusts Dazai so much I can't anymore ;;
(I am dying) When Dazai said "Isn't this a rather rough way to wake Snow White up?" He was rubbing/touching his cheek (which Chuuya punched) while laughing slightly!!! //Can I die yet?? Can I???
This was how it was described that Chuuya fell on top of Dazai!!! (I didn't know this phrase so I had to search) Idk why it sounds so gay (look at the 2nd translation) //Alright I am done with skk scene xD
Tumblr media
Fyo-Shibu related info:
Shibusawa died, when he died his ability seperated itself from him and that is the Shibu we see in Dead Apple. Fyodor revealed that to him that’s what led Shibu to join the other abilities “in the dragon”. So how come he came back and fought Atsushi after that?
Fyodor put the gem/the ability that brings all the others to one place on top of Shibu's skull . It collects abilities which is the reverse of Shibu's who scatters abilities (seperates them from their user) . Due to the difference of these abilities a singularity was caused. (Sth like what happened with Oda and Gide in Dark Era).
But normally nobody should be able to know what abilities to mix and what result the singularity would bring. But Fyodor for some reason knows!
Also: While Shibu's ability was with the dragon, Shibu's conscience was together with Atsushi's conscience in that illusion of their sealed memories 6 years ago. When Shibu revived he left from there, leaving Atsushi alone.
Some other miscallenous info:
The mist wasn't covering all of Yokohama. It was even stated there were people from the Abilities Department(how was this called in eng?) were just outside the mist on surveillance. Until it started expanding due to the singularity. Not making it in time to run away they got swallowed by it.
Fyodor used the words "Dead Apple" referring to the earth after the mist covers it all. As it will be red like an apple and everyone would be dead/swallowed by it. It is also mentioned that he thinks the only way for sins to be forgiven(?) is death ... Should I say I expected this?
Mori murmuring: "Now what will you do Dazai-kun?" "Well I guess I am not in the place to worry about others, huh..." *Elise appears* While saying these Mori was actually calm and not worried. // Mori believed in Dazai's (Skk's) abilities!! Daddy material
Why could Shibu hit Aku and Kyouka while their attacks passed through him? -There's no logic behind this. -This inconsistency was caused by the singularity that occured. -Singularities occuring due to the "mixture" of abillities cause these inconsistencies and it is explained as such in the novel too.
And my comment on the novel so far:
 I just read the scene Atsushi and the tiger merge together again and it's so beautiful <3 Atsushi accepting the fact the tiger is always by his side even when seperated ;; Initiating a friendly rivalry ;;
Admiring Iwahata-sensei's writing skills here! I can’t believe this person hasn’t written any other novel the portrayals are so <3
NOTE: My japanese aren’t perfect and it won’t be something strange if I have missed other info. I am sorry for that. I still have some 20 pages to read left but I will finish with it today so feel free to drop me asks regarding it. (Asks regarding the other 4 previous novels are welcome too btw) What I have deleted are my comments just so we are clear. I thought I should get all the info together here as it’s pretty all over my twitter XD
Hope you found this informing!

For You-Bucky Barnes x Inhuman!Reader
A fanfic to the song ‘For You-Rita Ora and Liam Payne’
Tumblr media
(GIF credit to @gliceria)
(A/N: There’s no way I’m writing about Infinity War, that was too traumatic to me and I’m pretending that it didn’t happen. Also this will be in the third person.)
Masterlist
Summary: Although Bucky has been welcome to the Avengers team with open arms, he still can’t help but feel that something is missing. Every day he feels as if he has forgotten something, he is never quite complete; that is, until he meets an extraordinary woman.
Characters: Bucky Barnes x Reader, mentions of Avengers.
Meanings: (Y/N)=Your name
Warnings:None
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
In your eyes, I'm alive Inside you're beautiful Something so unusual in your eyes I know I'm home (yeah)
“Remind me why we’re all here again?” Sam groaned, clearly annoyed that the whole team was already being called into a meeting this soon after a mission.
“I don’t know. We were just called in by Fury for something important.” Steve explained, keeping a cool head.
“Ok, who fessed up? Who told him about me?” Tony called out.
“What do you mean? What have you done?”
Tony hesitated.“Nothing, absolutely nothing.”
Bucky was tired, he was frustrated, and all he wanted was to go home and rest. Ever since joining the team, after everything that had happened before, he always felt...not complete. Whenever he woke, it felt as if something was missing. Bucky had always blamed it on his memory loss, he was still recovering from years of brainwashing; but after a while of feeling that way, he wasn’t so sure he could ignore it any more. Bucky had never confided in the others about this, for some reason his conscience told him that they wouldn’t understand. He didn’t understand himself, how could they help?
Bucky let out a long sigh.“Come on, the quicker we get there, the quicker it’s over.”
The Avengers were led into a viewing room, all of them standing at a large glass window. Confused, they looked down, seeing a young woman flailing her arms around but not in a crazy way, it was quite beautiful; what was crazy was what she was creating in that room.
“Avengers, meet your newest member, (Y/N).” Fury stated as he joined them.
“Wait, another one?” Clint spoke up.
“I know the number of you has increased over the years, but believe me, you’re gonna want her on your team.”
Their focus went back to (Y/N), all of their eyes widening as they watched a transparent shield appear from thin air, defending her from the simulated rocks being thrown at her. She then swung her arms from side to side, breaking the rocks into tiny pieces before they got close. Behind her, the robots used for training emerged from the walls, all of them charging towards her. She conjured up a rope, lassoing them all together before lifting them into the air, slamming them onto the floor, their parts scattering everywhere. She was breathing heavily, but she didn’t seem to be panicked.
“She has telekinetic construct, she can create objects, weapons and animals through the power of telekinesis.” Fury explained.“I think she would be a great asset to the team.”
“How long have you had her hidden away?” Tony crossed his arms over his chest.
“For some time now. She actually volunteered to train at S.H.I.E.L.D.”
Bucky had paid no mind to their bickering. His eyes were still trained on the girl, enticed by her as she moved around the room, coming up with new ways to defeat those attacking her. Everything around him was drowned out, as if he was under her spell; perhaps he was, maybe she was a witch of some sort, it wouldn’t be the weirdest thing he had heard of. He felt his body tense up as she directed her attention to the window once the simulation was terminated. Her eyes were glowing a bright green, dimming as she let her guard down. Unbeknownst to himself, he was smiling slightly, amazed by her. Why was he so intrigued?
Every tear, every fear Gone with the thought of you Changing what I thought I knew I'll be yours for a thousand lives
Bucky couldn’t stop thinking about (Y/N). He was somewhat excited for her to join them, it was a strange feeling. The others had noticed the change too, though no one made any comments. She arrived a week later, the poor thing feeling apprehensive about the train despite her years of training as a S.H.I.E.L.D agent. These were the Avengers, worlds mightiest heroes; pressure much?
Although she had thought she would feel somewhat out of place, it was never like that. From the first time she took a step into the building, something changed; she felt lighter, a more positive attitude took over. It felt right, like she had slid into place. As she unpacked her things, someone knocked on the door, making her heart beat fast at the thought of who it could be.
“Uh, hi, is it alright if I come in?” It was Bucky, a unusual visitor.
(Y/N) started to stutter.“O-oh, y-yeah. Course y-you c-can.”
She felt like an idiot, desperately trying to not blush as he entered. He looked around the room, noticing how little personal items she had, sympathizing with her as he had gone through the same thing.
“You’re amazing.” Bucky suddenly blurted, fear rising in him as he realised what he had said.“I mean you’re powers. I’ve never seen anything like that before.”
“Pretty strange, aren’t they?” she chuckled.
“Useful is what they are.”
Her shoulders sunk at his words.“Mm, useful.”
“Oh no, wait, I-”
“Don’t worry Bucky, I understood what you meant. I’ve just heard so many people use words like that around me.”
“You know my name?” He was shocked.
“How could I not?” Her focus went back to her bags, taking out the folded clothes and laying them on the bed.“You were the talk of S.H.I.E.L.D for almost two years.”
“I would have thought I would have heard about you by now. It seems odd that they kept you a secret for so long.”
“Is it though? They are a secret organisation after all.”
As Bucky chuckled, (Y/N) looked back at him, looking each other in the eyes once again. This felt different though, like a moment had just happened. Bucky had always wanted this feeling, this strange, amazing, warm feeling that he had never felt with other girls. He wasn’t sure what it was. Love? Lust? Passion? He couldn’t put his finger on it.
(Y/N) had felt something too. At first, she blamed it on her ability, wondering if it was somehow reacting to the nerves pulsing through her body; but she had experienced that before, it wasn’t the same thing. No, this was a welcome feeling, it was different to anything she had felt. She had watched the movies, she had read the books, she had an idea as to what this could be. Something was pulling them together, though neither were brave enough to admit it.
When they realised that they had been staring for a  long time, they broke away, nervous laughter coming from both of them. (Y/N) couldn’t help but admire him again, daring to ask a bold question.
“Bucky, do you believe in the one?”
He was surprised by the sudden topic change.“I guess so. Haven’t had much time to think about stuff like that really.”
(Y/N) closed her eyes for a few seconds as she turned away from him, mortified that she had asked him that; of course he hadn’t had time, he was cryogenically  frozen for seventy years before being brainwashed to be an assassin, and then he became an Avenger. When would he even have time to think about dinner?
Bucky could see her embarrassment.“B-But I used to...I would like to think that there’s something like that, like soulmates. Sometimes it just takes time to meet them.”
“How much time?” She smiled, glad that he didn’t think she was crazy.
“It could take years.”
“Like a thousand years?”
“Hopefully not that long.”
I'm free as a bird when I'm flying in your cage I'm diving in deep and I'm riding with no brakes And I'm bleeding in love, you're swimming in my veins You've got me now
“Look at him.” Sam scoffed as he shook his head, watching Bucky gawking at (Y/N).
“Hey, be nice. It’s good to see him finally socializing.” Steve nudged Sam with his broad shoulder.
“Socializing? We must be looking at different people. All I see is a creep staring at an attractive woman from the bar. Why doesn’t he just go up to her and talk, they do it all the time.”
When the Avengers had been invited (and forced by Fury) to attend the city’s gala to commemorate all the hard work the local heroes (including police, firemen, army etc.) did every day, Bucky had been excited. It was the perfect time to ask (Y/N) on a date, everything had been building up to this moment.
The months after their first encounter weren’t awkward, not like they had assumed they would be. They connected quickly, finding it easy to speak to one another about anything and everything. The team were very confused at first, it was an odd match indeed. Bucky was never this open and calm to any of them when he first joined, yet here he was being best friends with the newest member. They trained together, hang out after hours, partnered upon missions, the list was endless.
Despite the amount of time they spent together, neither of them were willing to admit what they had between them. Although they flirted and were affectionate, the pair were too scared to talk about their feelings, finding that it was an odd territory to cross into. Bucky had had experience in the past with women, but that was something that hadn’t stayed with him; (Y/N) had never even talked to a man this way, having been sheltered from the world due to her powers. All she cold base her knowledge off of was the movies she would obsess over when she was younger.
Bucky had built up his confidence over the months, preparing himself to ask (Y/N) to go to the gala with him. But every time he went to do it, he just froze. (Y/N) herself had an idea to ask him, or she at least hoped he would ask her first. Both missed their opportunities, now both were miserable at this party.
“Buck,” Steve snapped his friend out of his trance,“you need to go over to her.”
Bucky sighed, looking down at his drink.“No, I don’t want to disturb her.”
“She’s all by herself, I think you’ll be doing her a favour.”
“I’ve not done something like this in a long time, Steve. What if I mess this up?”
“You won’t know if you don’t take the chance. We’ve lost enough time already, don’t waste anymore.”
With a friendly pat on the back, Steve walked away, hoping that his best friend would take his advice. Bucky threw back the rest of his drink, glad that the alcohol wouldn’t effect him, he didn’t want to embarrass himself further.
As he walked through the crowds of people, he never took his eyes off (Y/N). How could he not? She looked beautiful tonight, she looked beautiful all the time when he thought about it. Bucky felt extremely lucky that no other man had swooped in and whisked her away. Her focus was somewhere else when he approached her, clearing his throat to catch her attention. (Y/N) turned, the fake smile on her face turning into a big, genuine one as she saw it was him.
“Hi.” (Y/N) beamed, relieved that she was with someone she knew.
“Hi.” Bucky smiled back, unconsciously moving even closer to her.
“Great party.”
“Is it?”
“I wouldn’t know, I’ve never been to one.”
“Then trust me when I say that this is no party.”
“That’s a shame. I hope I get to go to one.”
“I’ll take you, I promise.”
“Thank you. I actually quite like getting dressed up like this.” She picked up the long dress, swaying it slightly.
“I do too. You look beautiful.”
(Y/N) waited for him to start stuttering and rephrase his sentence. But he didn’t, and that made her feel amazing. Recently they had been more bold with their conversations, yet there was something always lacking. Perhaps it was finally breaking through.
“And you look very handsome.”
“Thank you.”
(Y/N) hesitated before speaking again.“Bucky?”
“Hm?”
“Can we dance? Please? I’ve never done it before. Though I understand if you don’t-”
Bucky stopped her rambling, grabbing her hand.“Come on, this old man still has a few moves left in him.”
Back at the bar, Sam and Steve kept a close eye on the pair, surprised that they were already dancing together. Sam smirked, nodding his head towards them as he spoke.
“Man, he is so whipped.”
Been waiting for a lifetime for ya Been breaking for a lifetime for ya Wasn't lookin' for love till I found you (oh na-na, yea) For love, 'til I found you (oh)
The gala was over, people were drunk, tired or moving onto the clubs as the event closed. Although everyone was just leaving, Bucky and (Y/N) had left hours before. They had simultaneously loved being so close to each other, not really dancing to their full ability, just enjoying the closeness. Nothing had been said between them, they somehow knew that the other person wanted to leave, to have time to themselves. Bucky took the leading, guiding her out of the building and onto the streets. They wandered for the next two hours, talking and laughing, there wasn’t a moment of silence between them.
They stopped on a bridge. It was quiet around them, there was hardly anyone out so late. The river running beneath them created a calm atmosphere, the adrenaline from earlier fading away.
“I’ve seen this a thousand times.” (Y/N) giggled.
“What?”
“In the movies. A lot of things happen on bridges in the movies.”
“Like what?”
“Arguments, break ups, confessions.”
“Confessions?”
“People declaring their love for each other.” (Y/N) ducked her head, suddenly embarrassed by her topic of choice.
“Would you like that to happen to you?”
“You know what, I think I would.”
The hints were building up. They wanted to say it out loud, shout it to the heavens above. There was no point in being afraid anymore. Why should they be wasting all this time tiptoeing around the subject?
“(Y/N),” Bucky made her look at him, standing up straight as he took both of her hands in his,“I never thought this would happen to me. After everything that happened, after all the battles and people I have had to face, the last thing I thought about was love. And even though I wasn’t looking for it, I think I found it.”
(Y/N) forgot how to breathe for a second, shocked at the choice of words.“I was exactly the same. Everyone thought I was dangerous or some sort of freak when they saw that I had powers. I had always lived through the movies, and I think I had grown used to that until I met you.”
“You don’t have to rely on them anymore. I don’t want to wait around any longer.”
“Then let’s waste time together.”

Chapter thirty-two
This plane’s first class section was actually quite amazing, I had never traveled in one before so I was like a little girl in a candy shop. Marco thought that was funny and kept laughing at me but I was so exited for this trip.
The first thing he had said to me was that, since he wasn’t going to the European Championship anymore, he had plane a two -week trip to Punta Cana, so we would be able to relax as long the Championship lasted. He apparently had planned everything on his way back to Dortmund and that was the “surprise” he wanted to give me. Needless to say I was very surprised indeed.
We had packed our things a few days after that and we were currently into our plane, which was very long for my liking. I was lying on the airplane seat, which resembled a bed somehow. There was a movie playing on my screen and I was drinking a strawberries and raspberries smothie that the flight attendants had given to us a while ago. I wasn’t playing much attention to the movie instead I was using it as a background noise as I relaxed into the comfortable mattress.
Marco was next to me as he had bought adjacent seats so we could keep together the whole trip. He was asleep now, his head was bent to my side so all I could see was his dirty blonde hair, which was a mess, hair flying in all directions creating a fluffy cloud on top of his head. His eyes was closed and I could also spot his eyebrows either side to his nose, his lips pressed into a thin line as well. He was snoring slightly as well, his chest coming up and down slowly and steadily with every breath he took.
We were both wearing comfortable clothes because the flight was extremely long. I was wearing a pale pink hoodie and a pair of black leggings as well as a pair of white trainers, which I had currently taken off as well as the hoodie, wearing now a white t-shirt. Marco was still in his gray hoodie since he was always so cold and also a matching gray tracksuit pants, he was also wearing white trainers and a black sponsored cap that he was holding in his hand, his arms crossed over his chest.
The first couple of hours on the plane we had been playing the plane’s video games and listening to music. We had also been catching up since we had had spent a few days away from each other when he had been concentrated with the National Team for the European championship. And I had really missed him so much because I had been super stressed and I had needed him a lot to calm me down and relax me because he was a pro when it came to doing that.
The flight attendants had brought us dinner about three hours into our flght since it was an overnight flight. We thought that we would have more time to have fun if we slept on the plane instead of wasting a whole day travelling and we really wanted to enjoy the time we had since after this holidays we would be spending two moths apart.
For dinner, I had picked a lasagna and an ice cream as dessert but Marco wanted to be healthier and choose the roasted chicken with veggies. I had told him to stop dieting while we were on holidays because one of the fun parts was to eat as much new things as you could and he said he was going to try. So far, he wasn’t going well. It was my personal goal over this trip, to make him stop dieting for two weeks so he wouldn’t have to worry about what he was eating all the time, which was pointless since he wouldn’t playing in a long time, his injury being far worst than we initially thought.
After dinner he had laid down and he had fallen sleep within a minute, I had always been jealous of his capacity to fall sleep so quickly. On the other hand, I had been unable to fall sleep, since I was so excited about our holidays. Instead I has stayed awake, watching that damn movie that was so boring and trying to relax instead. I didn’t grow tired until it was really late but when sleep kicked it it took me and I fell asleep really fast.
I woke up with a ticklish sensation in my cheek. As I was gaining conscience I got to know it was someone brushing his fingers gently against my cheek instead of tickles. When I opened my eyes I saw a pair of green ones looking back at me lovingly and I followed my gaze to his, watching as his fingers traced patters over the skin on my face, leaning into his big hand.
“Morning, liebe” he said sofly “I was getting bored”
“Morning” I said stretching “I was good sleeping”
“Sorry” he said laughing.
“But they are bringing us breakfast in a moment anyway” he said.
“How thoughtful of you” I said jokingly.
Amazingly I wasn’t even a bit sore of the night of sleep I was feeling actually quite rested, I really could get used to the first class section in planes. I usually was so tired after my flights back home or to Dortmund, which were fair shorter than this one and I didn’t even have to sleep in them. But ovbiously I didn’t fly in first class when I was paying for the ticket because I didn’t have that amount of money to spend in them to begin with. That was one of the perks of dating Marco, that he was rich, and even though it was a determinant factor in our relationship I certainly like the little things like this trip that he could afford, and was so kind to be sharing with me. Not that it wouldn’t be OK if he didn’t chose to spend it on me.
“I love you in the mornings” he said laughing as I glared at him.
He was usually at a good mood at the mornings and I kinda of hated it because I was not. I wasn’t a morning person, I hated to get out of bed early, and I sometimes woke up in a mood not knowing why. Marupco on the other hand, wasn’t much in a mood just because he had to woke up early, he usually liked to wake up early and make exercise before he had breakfast because he said he would get fitter that way and that it was a very healthy habbit. But I really hoped he wouldn’t be doing that on holidays because I would kill him, he really needed to learn how to relax.
“Are you tired?” he asked.
“No, why?”
“Because it would be morning when we get to the resort and I was wondering what you would like to do”
“I was thinking we could relax in the water” I said “I mean, we had two weeks to explore”
“I’d like that” I said “Plus, Germany is playing today and I wanted to see it”
“OH” I said “Me too”
“Good, we have to unpack too anyway”
“God, I’m gonna hate hat” I said frowning.
“Cheer up” he said “It’s not going to take you that long”
“Too much for my liking anyway”
“Look, breakfast is coming”
“Thank god” I said “I’m starving”
They brought us two muffins and a cup of coffee for breakfas, as well as a bowl with fruit salad. Everything was delicious and me and Marco had breakfast together in silence and then I put my head onto his shoulder and I took a nap because we were about an hour ago from the airport.
“Liebe, wake up” I heard Marco said “We’re going to land”
I moaned and leaned on his shoulder, trying to sleep a little bit more.
“Liebe” he said “C’mon”
“I’m awake” I protested “It’s got nothing to do with the landing anyway”
“You gotta be awake” he said,
“Why?” I said “The pilot’s not going to care”
“But it’s more exciting. I want you to land with me”
“You’re the chesiest person in the world, I swear to god”
After we landed we waited for our luggage and we walked through the airport carrying our bags in a carrier. As we stepped out of the gates I saw a guy in a suit waiting for us.  He was carrying a sign with Marco’s name on it, holding it in front of his body so it would be visible from us. We greeted him and he lead us to a luxury-looking car in which we got in.
The ride was quite long but the car seats were really comfortable, our bangs were in the boot. I was resting my head on Marco’s head, really tired from our trip. Luckily it was still the early hours of the morning in Punta Cana and we had the whole night to rest.  There wasn’t many cars out in the street and I could see what was visible of the landscape. There was indeed dark outside and all I could really saw was the shapes of the trees and what I could distinguish as the sea.
After a short ride we arrived to an aerodrome, where a helicopter was waiting for us, if I hasn’t been so tired I would be on cloud nine. The driver helped us carrying our bags to the helicopter and he left a few minutes after we took of.
We were staying in a private island with a few small houses scattered around one of those bridges you usually see in rich people’s photos and I had almost had a heart attack when I found out about it. The pictures seemed like a dream came true and I was so exited to spend this two weeks here with Marco. Our villa was quite secluded so we wouldn’t be disturbed and we could do as we pleased on holidays. We had a bit of a schedule planned but we were not going to swear by it, it was a flexible planning.
The helicopter ride didn’t last long and it was a shame it was dark, because the views would have been breathtaking otherwise. Once we touched land we headed to the reception, where a woman and a man dressed nicely were waiting for us. I felt a little down-dressed in my plane clothes but I guessed they were also paid to ignore that because they didn’t even threw us a weird look. Another man came by and picked us our luggage while we registered in the hotel, and we were giving two glasses of champagne as a welcome.
After that the woman lead us to our room, it was quite a walk but It was very nice and quiet outside so I didn’t mind. Our room was breathtaking and it was more like a mini apartment than a hotel room. We had a small kitchen and a table so we could have our meals there and then there was the room and the lounge area next to it, in the middle of the little house. It looked so comfortable and relaxed, and definitely luxury, there was also a glass  window placed in the floor at the end of the bed, through which we were able to see the fishes and sand in the sea below the room. On the other side of the bedroom there was a double bathroom, with a huge shower and a huge bathtub, placed in front of a full height window, which you could open. There was also a deck going from one side to another of the house with two lounge areas, stairs to the sea, an infinity pool and an outdoors shower. Our suitcases were placed on the wardrobe, waiting for us to unpack them.
“Do you fell as shitty as I feel?” Marco asked me, taking me away from adoring the room which would be my house for the next to weeks.
“Probably more” I said hugging him, my head falling onto his chest “But I’m starting to feel better by the minute”
“How about we try that tub?” he asked arching his brows as he looked down.
“I would really love that” I said smiling.
“OK, you ran the bath and I’ll go unpack”
After the bubble bath with Marco we were both feeling really relaxed and ready for our day, it was eight in the morning already in Punta Cana’s time and we were asking for our breakfast in a minute. We were currently laying in our bed, with the doors opened, cuddling as we watched the sun coming up. My hair was still wet for the bath and it was getting the sheets and Marco’s chest a bit wet, but we didn’t mind. Marco’s hand was traveling up and down my bare back, relaxing even more my body and mine tracing patterns on his chest, with my eyelids going heavier by the minute.
“Are you going to fall asleep?” Marco asked as he pushed my hair away from my face.
“I’m trying not to” I said looking up.
“You can take a nap” he said “I’ll wake you in time for breakfast”.
I woke up next hearing voices, as I woke up I saw the sun has already coming up and its light was entering the room nicely, the door that lead to the kitchen was closed and I hadn’t even fully woken up when Marco opened it and he brought in breakfast.
He was carrying fruits, cereals and pancakes on a serving tray and also two pitchers with juice and milk on them and a coffee pot..  There was also two plates, with two bowls of them and four glasses and two mugs.
“I was bringing you breakfast in bed” he said. He has his bathrobe back on and he was barefooted as well.
“You can still do it” I said reaching down to pick up my bathrobe as well.
Meanwhille Marco placed two trays on the bed and started to serve us breakfast, which was delicious.
