Okay so saw the ask about Cullen and now I have some more questions cause I love hearing people talk about characters they like. Is there any part of his story throughout the series you wish was explored more? And, how do you think his character progresses post Trespasser?
Me when people ask me my thoughts on Cullen
Thank you for the ask Archi! I will try to answer as best I can.
I honestly think his relationships between other characters should’ve been explored wayyyy more. One of the downsides of having a character be essentially benched at skyhold or haven for most of the game is that you hardly ever see them interact with other characters. The war table banter is one of my favorite parts of the game because you get to hear Leliana Josie and Cullen all tease each other like siblings - imagine if Cullen had been a companion!
If Solas and Bull were in your party with him, maybe there could’ve even been dialogue with Cullen remarking how either Solas or Bull was going to win with their mental chess game? Sera teasing Cullen? Dorian picking his brain about the Templar order? Vivienne asking about his time in the circle? Blackwall and Cullen exchanging about how they are leashed to duty? Cole sensing Cullen’s thoughts during difficult demon oriented missions? Varric asking Cullen about his hobbies (or lack thereof)? Cassandra and Cullen telling stories about the champion of Kirkwall? Like there is so much we missed out on in regards to Cullen’s relationships with others.
I think the reason why his romance does a lot of credit to his character and makes him feel more fleshed out is because being an advisor doesn’t allow him to get that with other companions. I would’ve chopped off my left hand to have Cullen as a companion during the mage or Templar quest just GAH i think BioWare in a way underestimated how interesting he is as a character.
As for post trespasser:
I think a lot of people disagree with how his redemption arc went in game (I don’t agree with them but that’s besides the point) but I think him having the Templar sanctuary is a good bow to wrap up his arc. Helping Templars leave the order when they feel like they have no other choice is a fitting end to his story across all three games, you have the chantry turning them into mindless zombies through lyrium and Cullen offers a way to break the leash, something he worked towards throughout all of dai. I think he becomes more human, more like himself from before - you could say he went full circle :)
As for romanced Cullen I think he becomes a dad (or a really good uncle) because I am a girl dad Cullen propagandist and him trying to use the commander voice on children who will not listen is funny. I also make him join clan lavellan because I don’t agree with the idea half the fandom has that lavellan doesn’t return to their clan, let us go home!
So yeah these are my thoughts and I hope they made just a little bit of sense sjks thank you!

Thoughts while rewatching season 3 of Riverdale:
1. K why did Alice’s farm style slay so hard? Like she looked so great
2. Love how Archie is literally in this prison FOR FUCKING MURDER and still nobody is scared of him - they saw this man in his nice little shoes his rich girlfriend gave him and were like “yeah this man is ducking useless”
3. VERONICA STOP BUYING YOUR BOYFRIEND NICE THINGS WHILE HE’S IN PRISON! He’s just gonna get this shit stolen your dad was in jail how do you not know how a prison works?
4. It’s so sad that the normies got hold of the “epic highs and lows of high school football” line because it really is such a perfect Archie line - this man is naive and kind hearted enough to believe a game of football is all that’s needed to fix the structurally broken prison system but if you haven’t watched the show and don’t know anything about Archie then it’s obviously gonna seem ridiculous
5. Riverdale relationship drama is so funny cause it’s like “Betty had a stress related seizure due her mother and sister joining a cult and didn’t tell Jughead” or “Veronica isn’t sure of the best way to help Archie through his time in prison”
6. Kevin asking Moose if he’s embarrassed by him of course he is Kevin have you met yourself? Your literally the worst
7. Organising a musical number and cheerleading routine for her boyfriend while he plays a game of football in prison is actually the most normal reaction Veronica Lodge has ever had to any situation ever
8. Realising I talk about Riverdale the same way all of the G&G players talk about G&G
9. Imagine being an adult in Riverdale and hearing that a new bar opened up under Pop’s and going for a night out to check it out but you get there and it’s just a load of teenagers doing musical numbers and drinking mocktails
10. Why is FP’s immediate reaction to any situation ever to just grab his son’s face and yell at him? Begging for this man to have a normal non-abusive reaction to something just one time
11. Will never stop thinking about the Midnight Club. It was the first episode of Riverdale I really watched and it’s still one of my favourites. Like the way all of the parents tried so hard and came so close to breaking their moulds and forging their own paths but they never did and just fell into exactly what the world and the people around them wanted to be AND how their kids are all in the same situation now? The narrative, the cycles, the generational trauma! This episode has everything
12. Knowing now that Sheriff Keller actually WAS into guys the whole time and it was just that he didn’t want to be with Moose’s dad makes the whole situation so much funnier
13. The idea that they were all booking out the bunker for certain nights a week is so funny - like did they have physical a schedule? Who kept the schedule? Did it just sit in like the offices of the Blue and Gold?
14. I fucking love Archie and Josie together and have fully convinced myself that Josie is somehow California Women
15. It needs to be studied what exactly the Heathers episode did to my brain because that one episode of TV completely rewired my brain chemistry and changed the trajectory of my life
16. It’s so sad that the happiest Polly ever got to be was when she was part of a cult. It’s also sad how much everyone’s farm fashion went off cause they all looked so good during that era
17. It’s actually a miracle it took so long for Fangs to actually die there were so many attempts on his life
18. God Veronica running multiple businesses at age 16 and none of the Riverdale adults batting an eye and just respecting her as a business women will never not be funny to me
19. The plot twist that Alice was actually working undercover to take down the farm actually makes her being so awful to Betty make less sense. Sure, she was doing it for the greater good I guess but like she didn’t have to give away her college money or sell their fucking house leaving Betty with the options of homelessness or moving to a cult to get it done
20. FP maybe if you need to get your teenage son to regularly come and help you with your job as sheriff then you shouldn’t be doing it? Although on the other hand Jughead would’ve gone to those crime scenes anyway so like maybe it’s a good thing FP was there as adult supervision
21. GOD the cult break out and scavenger quest are such amazing finales for this season. Everyone nearly dies about ten times, Kevin and Fangs no longer have kidneys, the core four staggering through the woods in formal wear close to death together, Cheryl and Toni coming to save them all with the power of gangs and bows and arrows, it had literally everything you could want!
22. Love how Hal Cooper is canonically one of the worst serial killers ever and every woman he’s been with tells him this to his face

Commercial sell-outs
One of the more obscure Marvel Comics super villain was The Chairman, who made his appearance across several comic books in 1978. He had the power to turn people into chairs and was on verge of doing so to Spider-Man. I guess he just may exist in the same comic book universe as this alternate band, Josie and the Cup Cakes. We are not too far from mainline Archie here -- this premise for this story -- something of it was done with The Archies a couple times as Betty and Veronica needed to shoo away temporary replacement of "hot chick".
And a premise that shows up in Josie as well as Archie -- a psychic or medium or guru exposed as fraud. Though on this one -- I guess this guy ends up checking out.
A recurrent. Melody slips and slides on ice, panties flash a couple times, and guys rush in to pick her up. On the marathon dance contest, seems like a sitcomy set up.
And this is the world where problems are solved through Hostess snack food. So alluring, the guys just drop Melody. Familiar set ups continue to arise. Melody runs a lemonade stand. It's been done. For this particular lemonade battle, though, I see a plot hole -- why are they in competition at a charity bazaar? And won't this deplete the profits pretty totally?
And gorillas love Josie. At least twice. To be fair, in this third off-note time, the gorilla does not particularly have any affection toward Josie -- but he sure likes Hostess foods.
And while DC and Marvel are running with superheroes foiling dastardly actions by off-note supervillains through the help of Hostess pies and cakes, Archie has their teenagers deploying the pies to win favor or attention with either specific love interests or the opposite sex in general. Real "pie appeal" -- as a title of one of them puts it.
They make for good conversation fodder on a boring blind date! But if you find a shared interest he is interested in rambling on about and you are interested in hearing, go for it I guess.
Hostess food stuff is also useful to show up the snooty rich. The class war theme rears its head.
Proper motivation for athletic deeds.
And fighting crime and monsters. Now we are we are in Hostess universe Superhero territory!
Other good uses for Hostess products: insulting and taunting your supposed friends.
Dude really likes his Hostess products.
Good for sports injuries.
White trash candlelight romance.
Andy Warhol lives.
Whatever can Josie do to appease Alan M after a battle of the sexes saw the girls best the boys ... 30 to 9??? Good lord, that team stinks! On overhearing Melody in the changing room, supposing they assume she is trying on clothes -- what are they to make of Melody referring to some piece of clothing as "Yummy"?
Funny thing. Josie Hostess add did not appear in the pages of the Josie and the Pussycats comic book. There they switched out for an Archie one. The logic for this -- keep the comic book content separate from ad copy -- might be an explainer on why there are more Josie Hostess ads than Archie, Sabrina poking in with a few at the end. I am guessing that DC Hostess Superman would stay clear of Superman Comics and Hostess Fantastic Four not appear there either. For that matter Wendy the Witch is hawking Hostess titles not her own. Hostess Archie could not stay stay completely clear of the Archie titles, but they lightened the load.

I love your takes on things. I just wish people would stop reading these crazy articles by the screeners/ reviewers (what ever you want to call it) and just watch the show. You’re right, they are not subtle on how they do things. The story they are telling is quite obvious, the three main endgames are bughead, Varchie, and choni. We just need to sit back and watch as it unfolds. I know some/ most of the storylines have sucked this season but once everything gets out we will all probably look back and say now I see why they did what they did. Except for the ba storyline that was just stupid and unnecessary
❤️ have a great day love
you're sweet to me, lovely!💜
yeah, it would be better for people to watch the show and discuss what's happening on the screen (and not assume the promo is 100% the truth or that stills are giving away all of the context) rather than freak out over everything screeners or reviewers say. especially when it comes to interviews.
they lie. it's part of their job. they want to create hype and this show does it badly. always has. ras is infamous for bullshitting on ships he has no intention of delivering on (i hear he did the same with harvey and sabrina in caos). b/archie? how many different ways can the man say they have a deep bond or it will get deeper or we'll see a change to their relationship and nothing happens before we realize even if he goes there, he's not staying there?
my vote is, if you can replace the names of whatever ship he's talking about with betty and archie and it sound the same, then i say ehh. you know who he doesn't talk like that about? bughead. varchie. choni.
more anons below the cut:
in everyone's defense, it's been like, 3 days? but also i feel you so i mean, yeah. everyone write some stuff, let's goooooooo—
i saw that. also for 5x15 i think? josie and sweet pea, what are you getting up to?? dirty birdies. kitties? yeah, i walked right into that pussy joke, didn't i?

Pairing: Archie Andrews x FemaleMccoy!Reader
Warnings: Angst, swearing, underage drinking, mentions of sex
AN: Hope this what you asked for 😊. Also this doesn’t follow the exact plot of the first episode of the series.
Word Count: 1853
Archie and Y/N had something in the summer. With her sister and her band she had no one else to hang out with. Then she started hanging out with Archie and hanging out turned into having sex. They both agreed to not involve feelings since it would make it more complicated and they didn’t want that.
But Y/N started to have feelings for him.
She knew that he didn’t feel the same since he was the one to recommend the no feelings part of their relationship. She knew he cared about her but just as friend he sometimes has sex with.
When the times they did hang out and didn’t have sex they had really meaningful conversations. They would make each other laugh and all in all they were happy with this arrangement.
But then the summer came to an end and so did their fling so it seemed.
When her and Archie didn’t hang out she hung out with Kevin and Betty. They knew about the thing between her and Archie and her feelings. She has known Betty and Keven ever since they were young and she knew she could trust them with this information.
Betty would lend a shoulder for Y/N to cry on when she talked about her feelings for Archie. And Kevin would always say the he had feelings for her to. But it was to hard to believe for Y/N.
She knew she shouldn’t have started his fling with him. She knew she would have a broken heart at the end of it.
Everything seemed to go back to normal at school except for the disappearance of Jason Blossom. Even thought Y/N didn’t know him she hope that he was ok. But she did know his sister Cheryl.
She didn’t exactly like Cheryl but wouldn’t start anything with. Y/N didn’t like Cheryl because she would always make fun of Betty and as friend of hers she would stick up for her which made Cheryl hate her.
Then Veronica Lodge came to the school.
She didn’t hate the girl but Y/N could sense that she liked Archie. But Y/N didn’t do anything since her and Archie weren’t even dating hell they weren’t even having sex anymore.
She couldn’t even hate Veronica for it. Since Veronica knew of her feelings and promised to stay away. But that didn’t help the nagging voice in the back of her mind that this wouldn’t end well.
Then the dance came.
Archie asked you which made Y/N’s heart race and could feel her body warm up and agreed to go with him a happy smile on her face.
Her and Betty helped each other with their outfits Betty didn’t go with anyone but that didn’t stop her being happy for Y/N.
Archie was a complete gentlemen, he held the door open for her, and held her hand.
The night was so magical.
The dance was romantic. Y/N could feel butterflies in her stomach whenever he looked at her. She hoped that her and Archie could have something more real.
Y/N and Archie talked the night away with smiles and laughs. She felt so much love for him and she hoped he felt the same for her.
Everything was perfect.
That was until they got into Cheryls after party were Y/N, Archie, Betty, and Veronica attended.
As the walked in Y/N sat next to Archie with Veronica on his other side.
When Cheryl started talking Y/N rolled her eyes at the red head not in the mood to deal with her.
She heard Cheryl talking about seven minutes in heaven. God this was such a sixth grade thing to do.
But unfortunately she saw that Archie would be going in the closet with Veronica which made Y/N take a deep breath to try and control her emotions.
She saw Betty give her sad look and a comforting look in her eyes.
"So Y/N how was your summer," Y/N heard Cheryls condensing tone in her voice.
"Oh just great," Y/N answered Cheryl's question with a bit of sarcasm in her voice.
"What's going on with you and Archie," Y/N could hear humor in her voice which just made her roll her eyes.
"Why do you want to know," Betty stood up for Y/N which made her mentally thank Betty.
"Oh Betty I almost forgot you were here," Cheryl almost beamed with malice in her tone.
"I just don't think it's right for you to involve yourself if someone else's relationship," Betty snapped at Cheryl who just rolled her eyes in return.
Y/N felt bad for Cheryl after finding out Jason has been missing but times like this just made her hate Cheryl more and more. When she want after her friends and herself. Y/N doesn't know why Cheryl does this but it annoys the crap out of her.
"Listen before I get even more angry why don't just stick to your relationships and I'll stick to mine," Y/N stood up from the couch she had her voice at a steady calm breathing. She didn't want to get angry and focused on her breathing.
"Oh looks like times about up," Cheryl smirked as she walked over to the door to where Archie and Veronica were. Y/N hasn't notice it's been about 9 minutes which didn't follow the rules.
Y/N had a bad feeling in her stomach when Cheryl walked over to the door. She knew it was going to be something bad.
When Cheryl opened the door it revealed Veronica and Archie making out.
Y/N felt like she couldn't breath when she saw them kissing. She saw the two break apart and look at everyone in shock.
Y/N saw guilt flash both of their faces. She was about to cry and she didn't people to see her cry. She always prided her self in being a pretty confident girl. But right now she didn't feel like that.
Y/N didn't let either of them speak before she ran out of the door with tears rolling down her eyes.
Betty glared at Archie and Veronica. Then turned her eyes to Cheryl who had a malicious smirk on her face.
“This was your whole plan wasn’t it,” Betty asked while glaring at Cheryl.
“I just wanted to prove that Archie didn’t care for Y/N,” Cheryl shrugged not seeing with what she did wrong.
Betty shook her head before leaving running after Y/N wanting to comfort her friend. She left behind Archie and Veronica who let guilt set in.
Betty found Y/N in her car crying in her hands. Betty felt bad for her friend she had never experienced heart break herself but from looking at her friend she could feel it radiating from her.
Betty got into the car comforted her friend while hugging her for what felt like hours. When Y/N finally calmed down she dropped Betty off at her house and after reassuring her she was fine left or go to her own house.
Now she knew Archie didn’t have feelings for her.
For the next few days Y/N avoided Archie and Veronica which was hard since she had some classes with them.
After she went home she told Josie what happened which made her sister comfort her and to tell her everything would be fine.
During those few days her mother told her that there was this art school that Y/N got accepted in. She applied to this school during the summer with the permission of her parents. She only told Betty though.
She thought she wouldn’t get into that school.
Y/N was finally happy about something. She had been down ever since Cheryls party.
Her parents only allowed her to go to the school because there was some family close to the school that she wanted to go to.
The next day she told Betty who was overjoyed for her but sad that one of her friends wouldn’t be there. Y/N reassured her that they could talk and write each other which made Betty nod happy for her friend even though she was sad about that.
While she was packing her stuff out of her locker she felt someone walk up to her.
“Hey,” She heard Archie softly day. Y/N took a deep breath before turning towards him.
“Hey,” Y/N muttered turning her attention to her locker again.
“You’ve been avoiding me,” Archie pointed out after an awkward moment between the two.
“I wonder why,” Y/N scoffed.
“Y/N-,” Before He could continue Y/N put her hand and speaking herself.
“No I don’t want to hear it. I thought you asked me out I thought you liked me. I just I can’t pretend anymore that we are just friends,” Y/N shouted at Archie angry tears running down her face.
“Why are you packing your stuff,” Archie asked seeing all the stuff in her bad.
“I’m leaving I got accepted into an art school,” Y/N answered his question closing her locker after she was finished.
“This isn’t you. You wouldn’t go pack your stuff without telling anyone,” Archie explained with furrowed brows.
“Well I did tell someone I told the people who actually cared about me,” Y/N explained while glaring at him.
“I do care about you,” Archie pleaded with Y/N trying to get her to understand that he really did care about her.
“If you did you wouldn’t have kissed Veronica,” Y/N pointed out. “You broke my heart,” She whimpered trying to not let any of her tears fall.
“I know and I just want to prove to you that I really do care about. And ok now you’re going to say that I don’t but you’re wrong,” Archie began to explain. “I know I can never make it up to I just hope that one day you can forgive me,” He ended trying to not let tears fall from his eyes.
Y/N herself tried to not cry as she nodded. Even though he did hurt her she was going to miss him.
“Maybe one day,” Y/N whispered and she heard her own voice crack as a tear fell from her eyes.
“Just one last hug and I’ll leave,” Archie smiles and Y/N nodded letting him wrap his arms around her and she did the same. She took a deep breath and she smelled his cologne that she always loved.
When he pulled away he pressed his lips against hers softly seeing if she was going to kiss back. When she did they stood there kissing for a minute before they pulled back.
Archie walked away from Y/N and leaving the school.
Y/N let out a sad smile and let out a sniffle before grabbing her stuff and left herself setting her self on a new journey.

I saw you reblogged a post from a Jabitha shipper and you seem to generally like Tabitha and seem pretty level headed, and while it wasn't the main focus of the post it was mentioned so I'm going to use this to ask, do you honestly not see how problematic and racist some BH stans are when they talk about Tabitha. I honestly read some of their posts and cringe. No one says you can't have negative feelings or dislike a character, but the tone and wording of these posts are yikes. If you switched out Tabitha for Veronica most of these blogs would be up in arms about the racism encoded in them, but because it's Tabitha it's ok?? I've shipped BH since day one, and they can pry them from my cold dead hands, but the fandom is just a completely different vibe now, and it's not a good one
Hey, anon!
I can most certainly believe fans have problematic reactions against Tabitha, as I have first-hand experience of fans having problematic reactions against Betty. In every fandom there’s bound to be all kinds of people. If there are bughead -or any other- fans who vent their post-4x17-frustrations by being pricks, my advice is to curate your experience to exclude their hot takes.
The problem with Riverdale is that it talks the talk but never walks the walk. One of the reasons the writers are so vocal about their ‘wokeness’ is to hide the fact that their day-to-day narratives are very problematic and have been so since s1: Val disappearing once she broke up with Archie? Check! Melody speaking barely a line? Check! Villain bully Reggie and villain harasser Chuck? Double check! (I mean, sure, the ultimate s1 villain was Clifford but he wasn’t in the picture until the penultimate episode, was he?).
The writers love to advertise the fact that they populate Riverdale with actors of colour but usually forget to mention that they systematically deny them any kind of agency by making them secondary characters.
Supporting characters are disposable, there is no way around this. More so, in a show like Riverdale, where canon is being rewritten on the regular.
Tabitha was created to be Jughead’s scene partner, when they decided to isolate his character from the rest of the group. Her role, from the very beginning, has been to prop the main character up. This would have been the case, no matter Tabitha’s skin colour. The fact, however, that this is the n-th time the writers have used a poc in this way, is undoubtfully infuriating. People have a right to be upset, because before Tabitha, there was Jessica (for Jughead). And before Jessica, there was Toni (also for Jughead). And before her, there was Josie (for Archie), and Val (for Archie), and Minerva (for Cheryl). Because Reggie was never portrayed as a threat to Archie, in the way that Chad was. Because Betty, the white female protagonist, was never given a male poc love interest (and I'd bet good riverdollars that she never will).
The Riverdale writers’ activism has always been performative. This is nothing new. Conversely, just because this has always been the case, it doesn’t mean that people shouldn’t complain about it.
Another problem is how shortsighted the writers’ choices are. When Tabitha says she’s travelled back in time 1384 times in order to save Jughead, it is not presented as a token of her love for him. On the contrary. In an episode where everyone and their mother had sex, Jabitha couldn’t even share a kiss. This is ridiculous! The 1348-times line was meant to create a sense of dread for Riverdale’s future in general and Jughead’s fate in particular. The reason why I shared that post is because, albeit a Bughead fan, I share the og poster’s indignation over this. Just because the 1384-times-line is serving a specific narrative purpose, this doesn’t preclude any other narrative implications. Objectively speaking, your girlfriend travelling back in time 1384 times in order to save you, should mean something. If Jabitha is not meant to have a future together, carelessly dropping these lines and prolonging their partnership, is not doing any characters any favours.
I hope you enjoy the rest of the season, anon, and -most importantly- I wish you a great fandom experience. Curating said experience is an ongoing process. Be generous with that block button, if need be. We're here to have fun and enjoy ourselves! ❤️
Thank you for the ask!

Riverdale S5 Ep16 Thoughts *Spoilers*
Thoughts under cut to keep tag clean!
- Archie feeling guilty about his platoon :(
- “Considering you always screw things up…” GO OFF QUEEN!
- Oh thank you for stopping the random musical number but still fuck you Penelope. ‘A young man of few words’ the writers coming after themselves wow
- Jughead 🥺🥺 but what was the point of that scene with Alice (though I’m glad to see her) like—they could’ve just waited for Betty to be available…
- Jughead apologizing to Principal Weatherbee for his apology tour
- Hermosa and Reggie ew but also Veronica’s reaction is priceless. "What KIND of thing?"But it’s sad yet telling that she had more reaction to Reggie x Hermosa than Barcheating. Fuck these writers smh
- I mean Penelope should be in jail but we’re gonna skirt over that huh… but anyways lets upstage her for the millionth time
- THE ANIMOSITY IN VERONICA’S VOICE ASDFGHJKL;
- God poor Archie…
- “I don’t think it’s a war you can win.” “Maybe not, but it’s a war worth fighting.” YES ARCHIE GO TAKE DOWN GENERAL TAYLOR!
- Hiram being dumb enough to not change his locks after his previous co-worker (?) goes to work with his daughter/rival
- OMG CHERONICA?! FUCK. bugdead really helping everyone actually get screen time together we love to see it! fuck bhva <3
- Jughead wearing purple, Jeronica’s color muah
- Jabitha in Pop’s <3
- Betty sabotaging Jughead in whatever way possible without even truly meaning to r.i.p.
- I hate this ministry cult church bs plot but Cheryl’s outfit is *chef’s kiss*
- Archie being Archie and doing the good thing by asking him to step down, hoping/believing that he would be as good as him and step down :(
- … He’s still a solider who WENT TO WAR? Saw awful shit? The army is not some elite group you freak
- Better opening wounds than to let some asshole gets away with murdering many men and therefore CREATING those open wounds...
- Jughead don’t use her novels… don’t do it… I know you will and that you’ll end up not going through with it but PLEASE
- God seeing the boy in the hallway all messed up is amazing cinematography, but feels kind of out of place for Riverdale. They can only write and shoot well when it’s a character and plot focused episode instead of an insane all over the place episode
- LMAO VERONICA SAID FUCK YOU HIRAM AS SHE SHOULD HAVE! Not Hiram calling Veronica petty…??? He’s the petty child, aka a little bitch as Josie puts it.
- Of COURSE Nana Rose was a beekeeper…
- That coptercab thing sounds like an awful idea asdfghjkl;
- Veronica finally getting rid of Chad from her life as she should!
- Jughead drinking alcohol :( He was clean for a week my poor baby, but it’s so hard to kick… hopefully the writers actually allow him to grow and get better
- I know bh don’t have sex or anythning but this music is so… suggestive?? Why make it sound like they’re gonna get together again stop babying the Bughead’s after all they’ve done to everyone and this show??? Let them whine and cry
- The guilt Eric must feel for doing that FUCK “let me bring this home for you, it would be my honor” stop this is so 🥺😭
- Penelope decides to stop them after they’ve done two “miracles”??? okay… lol
- WHOREMONGER AND ESCAPED CONVICT if you want her gone just send her back?? QUEEN OF TTHE BEES BROOOO her making her mother flinch damnnnn
- ERIC GOING WITH ARCHIE AWW what a G though
- VERONICA IN PINK MUAH! “If you’re gonna bee a big boy, you gotta party like a big boy.”
- “You’ve impressed me, Chad.” ew over an awful idea fajsdlfahsf okay
- “probably not, Jughead, but-“ the way they’re speaking is so awkward
- Why does Jughead have to apologize for the voicemail when he said nothing wrong?? Sure it was a bit much and toxic but he was RIGHT why can’t people call out Betty?
- “I’m in recovery”Jughead says, drinking alcohol...
- Betty’s not gonna apologize for cheating huh… oh yeah lets also bring up the fact that you stole Yale from Jughead.
- Betty’s more comfortable with serial killers than being a normal person… yeah we know Betty
- Betty choosing a serial killer over Jughead BUGDEAD!
- Jughead she’s never taken accountability, she’s not going to stop

- “Why are you so nice to me?” Jughead never being able to tell when anyone (aka Tabitha and Veronica) is into him what a babie
- It’s so telling that Betty sees Jughead drinking and says absolutely nothing and only talks about what’s going on with her, but Tabitha immediately makes sure that he’s going to continue going to AA and get better. Jabitha eating Bughead up (which isn’t hard to do considering Bughead was never anything good)
- THEY TOOK GENERAL TAYLOR DOWN!! And Eric isn’t in trouble 🥺🥺
- Tabitha going to help Betty muah we love one of the best girls in Riverdale!
- Not Cheryl thinking she’s a witch… like sure I’ve thought of this for a CAOS/Riverdale crossover but—

- When the two miners are Archie and Eric and we get Betty digging him out despite how dangerous it is!
- “If Archie dies, you die.” We stan Veronica Lodge <3

Why focus on the bitch part of that voicemail so much when him calling her a horrible fake person and saying he should have seen that she is a horrible person seven years ago is probably the reason she was angry and hurt? You keep saying Betty is mad because he called her a bitch. No I don't think so. And more than likely being called a horrible person hurt more especially since Betty already had insecurities about this since s2. You don't recall these scenes in s2?
I kind of answered this somewhere else. I'll answer it again though.
I said she could be hurt for being called a horrible person. Yet wasn't she kind of being precisely that? Even in season 2? Didn't she use his insecurity to break up with him? When she covered up the kiss with Archie and kind of told him it was due to his insecurity! Do you remember that? So if it's been repressed because those two have gone through so much. He has a right to feel that way. Just like she has every right to feel hurt by it.
Does it mean Jughead, in his anger, was thinking what is Betty going to think? Probably not. He put himself and his emotions first. You can tell he regrets it. Good for him for owning that; it could be hurtful. Cheating is horrible. Awful.
I keep bringing up bitch simply because some women don't approve of being called that by men or other women. Her being called horrible, which she kind of was for doing what she did. Plus, fake because he might not have known who she really was if she could just lie straight to his face the way she did. Yes, they hurt, but in his anger, was he wrong? Is he? Plus, he was drunk and hurting. Clearly, so she wasn't the only one hurt.
So anon, it's not necessarily bitch it's a fact people were saying women shouldn't be called that. Women can be called horrible and fake. True it can hurt, but the truth hurts sometimes.
If Betty was so hurt by this Voice Mail the first day back, Jug gave her in to discuss it. She hasn't. Instead, she showed his boss and ex-girlfriend. She might have been high, but is she going to apologize for that? One up because Jessica baited her? Is she going to finally tell Jug he hurt her feelings? Maybe she understands why he left it after being drunk when she showed it to people after being high, and Jug wasn't even there to defend himself. He also helped her with her case and she with the missing kid. It could have gotten brought up again it didn't. They were sitting by each other at the concert. She kind of defended him to Josie but not really. I think in her own way, she realizes her and Jug need to talk, and the VM is just her reasoning for not getting too close. Maybe in her own way, because she's not ready yet, after all, we saw her tie some guy to a tree and now the last one in the school. Plus, if the VM hurt her so badly, why did she jump into bed with Archie, her best friend's ex, knowing Jug was staying there? To get back at him? To feed off his insecurity some more so it might be over before it's done if she got caught? Instead of just talking and being honest about it?
Also, it is the writer's fault. They tried to make them appear on equal ground by having Jughead leave that voice mail. I get why Betty's hurt but I also understand why Jughead did what he did. Especially if he was drunk, hurting verbal diarrhea. I think even Betty herself has been there. So why hold Jug to a higher standard? Why hold herself?

Riverdale Season 2 Ep 9
All the spoiler warnings
- Riverdale writers really have colonized my brain. I watch Ep 8, write a whole thing about how FP should’ve let Jughead be a Southside Serpent from the start, and then the very next episode, Jughead says to FP:
This life, that you want to protect me from? I’m proud of this! I’m proud of who I am! You can’t take that away from me!
Send help. I repeatedly believe I’m doing analyses but actually all this has seeped fully into my subconscious and what I’m really doing is regurgitating plot points and dialogue.
- There were so many callbacks to this episode from later seasons!
Betty has a terrifying dream about a hooded killer coming for her (her anxiety nightmares are exactly the same as after she becomes an FBI agent).
Jughead becomes totally consumed by a mania (in this case, his decision to hunt down and cut up Penny P) and he has that crazed look during Gryphons and Gargoyles when he’s convinced he’s going to ascend and meet the King.
Nana Rose has the precise amount of information necessary to introduce and justify a plot thing that was never mentioned before (in this episode, the lynching of an innocent man, and most recently, mothmen).
Penelope Blossom’s sex work begins this episode!
Alice Cooper goes Full Stepford and cooks a huge amount of food ‘just in case Polly comes home’ (because right now she’s pregnant and at the Farm, in S5 because she’s probably dead.)
Veronica and Hiram get into it about the true ownership of Pop Tate’s Chock’lit Shoppe. (When I first saw this I had no idea the Title to this damn diner would be the focus of so much drama).
Betty whacks a man on the back of the head with a big tool! In this case, a shovel, and in Season 4, a golf club.
Sweet Pea does what Toni says, and Fangs does what Sweet Pea does. I like this set up. Also, SWEET PEA! What a looker! Wholesome chubby cheeks, enraged bold eyes, that regulation Serpent Hair of Raven Drama and so. very. tall.
This is the first time FP calls Jughead BOY! [fingerpoint!]
- Other favorite moments: Reggie smirking and winking at Veronica! Kevin singing for the first time and harmonizing with Josie! The face of absolute disgust that Cheryl makes at discovering her mother in flagrante delicto!
- Jopaz, low key, and once again, Toni backing up what Jughead wants to do re: Serpents and that’s what cinches it. I wish I knew more about why she backs him up. Oh and Toni wears a beanie! Hers is slouchy and black, so I think beanie + jacket is a Serpent dressing rule, and it IS why Jughead feels compelled to wear the hat. It was his inner Serpent being expressed all the time.
- Barchie first kiss. I liked the urgency, and I’m sort of jealous that Barchie have each other ALWAYS as the backup option. To have someone who looks like Archie or Betty as *your backup* - phew! I don’t have this, so I resent it. Also re: Bughead, they are on a break, because Jughead broke up with Betty explicitly. But Varchie, they were at an impasse about saying I Love You. Archie is a jerk. And of course, to expertly twist the knife in there the show shows us that Jughead called Betty ‘my beloved’ and signs it “Love, Jug” in his cute handwriting in the note he included with her present. And Veronica tells Archie he is made of goodness (which is so not true!) and gives him a sweet kiss under the mistletoe. He just ACCEPTS IT as his DUE. I say again, Archie is a jerk.

So here's an ask: rate, on a scale from 1 to 10, the canon Riverdale ships, either just the main/current ones (bughead, varchie, choni, kangs, falice) or the main ones *and* the passing ones (add in veggie, archosie, josiepea, Archie/Valerie, moovin, joavin, gladsythe, etc)
OKAY LET’S DO THIS.
Bughead: 100/10. The best developed relationship in Riverdale (romantic and otherwise). Soft investigative cuties who believe the ends justify the means. OTP quality content. How Bughead came from the same team who brought us the Gargoyle King, I will never understand.
Varchie: 5/10. They are... okay. For most of Riverdale’s four seasons, I have quietly accepted Varchie’s existence and occasionally enjoyed them (weirdly I think I like Varchie best when are “just friends” with suppressed feelings for each other than when they are actually together?) I think Veronica Lodge is an amazing girlfriend. I find Archie’s actions in 4x17 and 4x18 inexplicable. I don’t know how to understand or interpret them at all if we are to accept that he does in fact love Veronica. I fully expect Varchie to be endgame, but I would not be sad if Veronica ended up with someone else.
Choni: -5/10. I think of all the ships on Riverdale, Choni is my least favourite? I liked parts of their relationship in season 2, but their breakup in season 3 was cringe, and Cheryl’s gaslighting of Toni in season 4 was just... horrendous and awful. Toni, please run away. Please find someone else.
Kangs: 5/10. I don’t really have strong feelings either way - like all of Kevin’s relationships, this ship has barely been developed and only gets screentime sporadically. They seem cute I guess. A stable boyfriend for Kevin would be nice. They can bond over how they both gave up their organs to the Farm.
Falice: 1/10. I am generally not here for Falice. I don’t understand this relationship at all. I accept that they were high school flames, but it seems like Alice having FP’s secret baby and then giving it for adoption and then thinking he was dead but then not and now he is back as an adult should have been a bigger deal? Like warranted a conversation? How do you get past something like that in a relationship? But fine. Also, I can’t get over these two awful parents hooking up with each other when their kids are in love with each other and not even having a conversation about it with their kids like who does that WHO DOES THAT. + I fully agree with you @arsenicpanda that while initially Falice had spark, Gladys/FP was clearly the superior ship and why couldn’t we have that instead.
Veggie: 8/10. I love Veggie. Their season 3 chemistry was so great. I loved their partners-in-crime vibe. I agree with @imreallyloveleee that it would be nice to see Veronica with someone who is her intellectual equal (and Reggie is not lol) but he did seem to share her instincts for business. And he just seemed to THRIVE when Veronica gave him breadcrumbs of trust in helping her with the Bonne Nuit. Like, you just know he would be loyal to her and love her forever if she opened herself up to him. Would take over Varchie any day tbh.
Archosie: 5/10. Archie and Josie were cute! I thought they had good chemistry. They probably lasted as long as they needed to.
Josiepea: 3/10. I honestly forgot this even happened lmao - was it at the beginning of season 3? I barely remember.
Archie/Valerie: 6/10. Maybe my favourite Archie canon ship? Who knew!! I liked them! But good for Valerie for dumping him when she saw what a hot mess he was lol.
Moovin: 6/10. Like Josiepea, I barely remember this relationship. But I like Moose! His name is Moose! I hope he is doing well since leaving Stonewall Prep.
Joavin: 2/10. Joaquin was bad news and Kevin can do better lbr.
Gladsythe: 7/10. I am here for Gladys in all of her forms. Remember that time she took out Penny’s eye! And the knife fight!! An icon. FP and Gladys have a lot of baggage, but damn they had chemistry, and honestly I would take their baggage any day over Falice’s baggage. bring back Gladys.

Josie and The Pussycats is the Spinoff Riverdale Deserves
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
This RIVERDALE review contains spoilers.
Riverdale Season 5 Episode 15
“Our story is about three young women bursting with talent.”
When last we saw Josie McCoy (Ashleigh Murray), she was in New York City trying to make her dreams come true on the ill-fated (and gone-too-soon) Riverdale spin-off Katy Keene. Often when characters are spun-off and their subsequent shows fail, they vanish into the pop culture ether — The Ropers from Three’s Company being the textbook case of this phenomenon. But not so for Josie. This latest episode debuts a new iteration of the character, one who has achieved her dreams but still finds herself wanting more. It is a decidedly more mature take on the previously underwritten character, and one that allows Murray’s considerable acting and musical abilities to shine.
In short, it is the Josie that fans have always wanted to see.
But what good is the character without the backing of her Pussycats? Drummer Melody Valentine (Asha Bromfield) and multi-instrumentalist Valerie Brown (Hayley Law) have been estranged from Josie since she blew off the Pussycats for a solo career when they were in high school. Seven years later and the wounds are still raw, even though Melody has since become a renowned author with movie rights optioned by Tyler Perry, and Valerie is a talented artist and actress.
When Josie returns to Riverdale to take stock following the sudden death of her father, she finds herself coming to terms with her past. More than that though, she has found her voice in every sense of the word. She dismisses Mr. Lodge, the show’s big bad in a hilarious kiss off that sums up many viewers’ opinions on the often irksome character. Better still, the episode allows her to get meta to discuss how Riverdale often sidelined the Josie character in her previous iteration on the series. “I didn’t have much to say in old times,” she plaintively declares, commenting on the problem that Riverdale had with diversity in its early seasons. She then accurately dismisses Archie, Betty, Veronica and Jughead not as old friends but as acquaintances. It’s a bold and surprising scene that takes responsibility for past sins that the series committed, further illustrating that it is aware that it can do better and has been attempting to do so.
After a steamy reunion with old flame Sweet Pea (Jordan Connor), Josie begins the work of reaching out to Valerie and Melody. It is here that the episode goes from great to an all-timer. The chemistry that Murray, Bromfield and Law possess is lightning in a bottle. As old injustices are aired and attempts to repair wounded hearts and egos are undertaken, these actresses embody the old friends they portray fully. But this backdoor pilot, fortunately, has zero interest in having its women of color tear each other down. The characters candidly discuss their shared past, and begin to repair the rift that will — if The Pussycats goes to series — lead them to becoming the global superstars they are destined to be.
Josie, Melody and Valerie are icons. They know it, and the world will soon follow.
Inspired by her renewed friendship with her once and future bandmates, Josie decides to do a concert with the Pussycats that will raise money to help reincorporate the town of Riverdale. It is a performance that highlights each of the women’s musical strengths, even if Josie does steal the spotlight for an emotional rendition of Nina Simone’s “Stars.” Despite being cut short when Toni goes into labor, the concert is enough of a success for The Pussycats to agree to go on the road together — playing in towns where Josie’s late father wanted his ashes scattered. The women consider themselves to be equals now, thus the “Josie and” is jettisoned from the band name. This still being Riverdale, a friend of Josie’s dad appears moments before she leaves town to tell her that her father may have been murdered in New Orleans, and that voodoo might be involved.
With this incredible/ridiculous plot development thrown at us, the full image of what The Pussycats will be as a series comes into view: A mixture of Fame and 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo that celebrates these characters and their comic/cartoon legacy in an unexpected way. (As an Archie comics historian even I was taken off guard by the last-minute introduction of the potential show’s mystery angle, and my mind reels at the possibilities).
Hopefully sooner rather than later a series order for The Pussycats will be announced. There is so much potential here to tell exciting, fun, music-packed stories featuring strong women of color that it feels like a surefire hit. “The Return of the Pussycats” is not only the best episode of Riverdale this season, but a perfect pilot episode. There desperately needs to be lots more long tails and ears for hats in our future, for these are the Pussycats we’ve been waiting for.
cnx.cmd.push(function() { cnx({ playerId: "106e33c0-3911-473c-b599-b1426db57530", }).render("0270c398a82f44f49c23c16122516796"); });
Riverdale Rundown
While nothing has been officially announced as of yet, it feels ridiculous for The CW to not do a full series of The Pussycats, yes? This logo appearing at the end of the episode instead of the usual Riverdale bumper bodes well for things to come. Fingers crossed…
My guess is that this episode didn’t have Alexandra and Josie cross paths due to their Katy Keene past, which had the characters begin as enemies who were slowly forming a friendship before that series was cancelled. By not having them interact, the writers didn’t have to figure out where their relationship currently is — making this a narrative thread that The Pussycats could potentially pull on down the line.
The character of Alan M. briefly appears as Melody’s love interest, which indeed he is in the comics and fondly remembered 2001 movie.
Speaking of the Josie and the Pussycats movie, that film’s ever-growing cult continues to delight me. Thanks to multiverses, there’s no reason why that version of these characters and the ones of The Pussycats can’t co-exist in the same pop culture landscape.
Let’s give a special shoutout to Robin Givens, who not only reprises her role as Sierra McCoy here but also did a terrific job directing this installment.
Melody narrates this episode a la Jughead, except that her writing is bright and full of hope, a sharp and intentional contrast to her brooding counterpoint.
If you didn’t cheer when Josie and the Pussycats took the stage to their cartoon theme song, you are dead inside.
“Entertainment Tomorrow” enters the Riverdale fake product lexicon in this episode (which also includes the returning chestnut “Vanity Flair”).
Toni gives birth to a boy, Anthony.
Expect to see more about the franchising of Pop’s in upcoming restaurants, and Tabitha’s speech about the importance of the Chok’lit Shoppe being a black-owned restaurant in a time when Riverdale had no other such establishments was one of the most powerful scenes this series has ever done.
It’s worth noting that a franchise for real-life Archie restaurants did exist in the early 1970s. However the idea never really took off, and pictures of the three diners that were opened have never surfaced online.
What the hell was up with the Old Navy product placement in this episode, which felt like it was ripped from the Josie and the Pussycats movie, minus the irony.
Kevin’s dancing during the Little Shop of Horrors musical number was, unsurprisingly, everything.
Melody’s book being named Summer Storm is a sly reference to actress Asha Bromfield having a newly released novel called Hurricane Summer that was released in May.
Josie uses the alias Ms. Newmar to check into hotels. Julie Newmar famously portrayed Catwoman on the Batman TV series, which not only plays into Josie’s feline motif, but also is yet another of the show’s near-constant DC Comics references of late.
Mr. Lodge being called a “little bitch” was so unbelievably pleasing to watch. Josie is just SO OVER Riverdale’s bullshit.
In a nice character moment, Cheryl immediately leaps into action to help deliver ex-lover Toni’s baby.
Dr. Curdle Jr. being a Josie and the Pussycats superfan is comedic brilliance (as is the fact that nobody trusts him enough to have him anywhere near Toni’s delivery.

Recappin’ Riverdale, 1x02 : A Touch Of Evil
Clicketh the read more for some random thoughts!
- I’m pretty sure Jug pronounces “irrevocable” wrong
- Penelope actually being comforting?
- Ahhhh Jason’s corpse. You stuck around....longer than anticipated.
- JUG STOP NARRATING I BEG YOU
- Things that nobody notices but me - Betty has never changed her phone case. I change mine every 2.5 days.
- And again, we are meant to thirst over Archie and overlook the grooming
- The fact that he’s sleeping with her and still calls her “Ms. Grundy” when they’re not even in school is just...so ick.
- Fred being the ONLY A+ parent in Riverdale. And yes, I am very much including all the parents we haven’t met yet. And yes, that very much includes Hermoine Lodge and 1 FP Jones.
- Hal being the moral high ground. Kiss me, I love it.
- Alice Cooper would have been a very effective serial killer and I will die on that hill.
- Yeah, while I completely believe Archie didn’t OWE Betty his affection, this walking to school scene was weird for me
- I hadn’t realized how little Jughead was in the pilot before now
- Ah yes, the show, with its usual subtlety, wants you to know JUGHEAD IS A MOVIE BUFF. Please accept that as why he makes references a teenager would never get.
- Mrs. Phillips? I thought that was Mrs. Bell?
- Veronica trying to make up for her perceived sin is adorable. She so wants to hang onto Betty.
- “And his cold-blooded killer is walking the Green Mile to sit in Old Sparky and fry” - oh Cheryl.
- It breaks my heart how Veronica is so genuinely trying. She wants her and Betty to be friends so much
- Archie struggling with thoughts. He may have two, which is a thought and a half too many.
(I really don’t hate Archie. I actually find S1 Archie kind of endearing)
- Oh so this is Dr. Curdle? And we’re to believe that Dr. Curdle Junior who looks deadass older than this dude, is his son? Please, Riverdale.
- You, my approximately 1 reader, should know that I skipped the whole song and Grundy scene, but I am upset Betty didn’t eat those cupcakes
- Cheryl is so Cheryl. I am writing a chapter in her perspective for someone else is singing along, and I am already excited about it.
- “It is not my fault he doesn’t like you.” That’s...true.
- “We were meant to be best friends” I love this Beronica content I miss it
- “I’ve never felt the way I’m supposed to feel about Betty.” I feel like we don’t pay enough attention to this.
- This pan down shot of Betty. I know it’s supposed to be intimidating but it just comes off as...ridiculous?
- I saw this post, I think by my fandom twin @go-ldy and @arsenicpanda where it’s like there’s always two friends forced to be the responsible friend to the stupid friend. I think that’s what Jughead is invoking here, the “oh my god Archie sleeping with your teacher is a BAD idea!”
- A kid is dead. LOL. Remember when they used to care?
- I’m really loving this swoopy hair that Jughead has
- There’s a lot of intense staring here. Getting some Jarchie vibes.
- See, here’s my problem with this show. They tell us Beronica are best friends. That’s backed up with a decent amount of time together, last season aside. But they also tell us Jug and Archie are best friends. And aside from a few moments in a few episodes, I really don’t see a lot of narrative scaffolding for this.
- Look at Betty’s season 1 outfit
Compare that to the cropped sweaters and miniskirts of season 4. In the hands of better writers, we could say that her confidence has evolved and so has her wardrobe. But I somehow doubt that’s the case here.
- Gonna say I like the replacement Reggie better. Nothing against Ross Butler, but Charles Melton brings a certain Handsome Squidward stupidity to the role.
- Love the reaction to this Archie/Reggie fight. Like, they want to stop it, but not really enough to intervene. Betty just looks mildly exasperated.
- “I want to do this thing with this girl” you’re coming off as speaking about something entirely different, Arch.
- Again, a lot of intense Jarchie staring.
- Archie recoils from Betty touching his eye. We saw that, right?
- This doesn’t even sound like Josie singing....
- Jughead is looking straight at Betty with an expression that further solidifies my theory that he was into her LONG before they started working together.
- I love how he goes straight around Veronica. I need more Jeronica snark in my life.
#Riverdale#Recappin' Riverdale#Betty Cooper#Jughead Jones#Archie Andrews#Veronica Lodge#Alice Cooper#Did I get everyone?#Episodes 3 and 4 are on the list today#Which means it's a day where I get actual Bughead interaction!

YES FINALLY COME FORWARD WITH IT ARCHIE PLEASE, THANK YOU SO MUCH
never fucking mind.
Really. Vegas. What the fuck. She deserves prison.
Oh Veronica’s date is cute
Ooh I like Jug’s sweater
Betty’s “I hope you’ll come write for the gold and blue :D” is cute
Betty and Jughead’s friendship 🥺
Y’all that is a public space-
SHUT UP TEACHER LADY. YOU DESERVE TO BE EXPOSED
Don’t protect her Archie
Oh god I hate mean girls, like get a life please I’m begging
VICTORIA SAYS NO TO SLUT SHAMING
ummmmm Victoria not that he doesn’t deserve it but you aren’t really holding up your nice girl persona thing
Betty covering her eyes lmao
FUCK YOU CHUCK
is that his name??
Jughead’s very pretty. Like dark hair and light skin and grey-blue eyes is a very attractive combination
I think I stan Josie
“I’m grounded” what she’s thinking: the hell you are, which you aren’t
I sorta like V’s mom, idk, I need to get more of a feel for her. She’s pretty engaging with her daughter
Oh hey the Sierra Burgess actress
SHUT THE FUCK UP CHERYL THIS SHIT IS TRAUMATIZING
Boys will be boys is the oldest fucking excuse in the book and I will not tolerate it.
YES VERONICA RAISE UP YOUR SISTERS
Forget everything else, the biggest indication that Jughead is not straight whether aroace or if that’s confined to the comics gay or bi or whatever is that this bitch cannot sit right
Hmm the discussion with Josie and The Pussycats is nice. It’s not letting Archie off the hook. “No, you don’t get it.” And him conceding that she’s right
Oh uh she’s got long legs
I’m sorry Cheryl but you can’t let your brother off the hook for this hun
Come on Cheryl please
Yes I am unironically falling for Cheryl Blossom, yes I recognize that I have issues
DAMN HER VOICE
awww Archie looks super happy when he’s writing with them :)
Fuck Betty’s mom all my homies hate Betty’s mom
Her mom seriously gives me gaslighting, emotionally abusive vibes.
Let him do it Archie’s dad
Love Archie calling out his dad’s weird masculinity bullshit that allows football to be prioritized
Oh uhhhh
I’m gay
Why wouldn’t I be surprised if Betty’s mom sent hate mail to the mayor
OOOOH DAMN SHE FUCKED HER UP
oh she’s brushing her hair behind her ears 🥺 how fucking quaint
Hiding in secluded spots while people watching—A very gay sport, Archie and Jug.
I hate to agree with the teacher but he does have talent. Stop it, Mr. Andrews. Let your kid live. It is not your job to ensure a life career for him. It’s hard to imagine him failing, but stop. Just stop
I hate alpha bitch moms who aren’t direct. If you’re going to be a bitch, be direct, otherwise you’re just a spineless coward. I’d respect you more if you were upfront with your fuckery.
Oh damn oh damn Betty’s kinda really sorta making me gay
Like the heel while she pushes him down and like um I hope this doesn’t awaken anything in me
Betty dial it back, I know it’s horrible, I do, but stop before you do something you regret
Oh hey, Archie’s dad is coming around
NOOOOOO SHUT UP DO NOT LIKE MS GRUNDY
bye bye chuck
That’s it Cheryl. You’re on the right track
No, no, Archie, no. Please please please.
Ohhh he saw her car. It’s all coming together.

Riverdale 5x15 Review
I really loved this episode. I do think it was more of a stand alone episode as it didn’t really contribute anything to the overall plots of the season but it was still a very entertaining one. I kind of got the same feel from it as I did from those earlier episodes of the time jump and I think its because, like those earlier episodes, it was something new, the focus was new but it still had that nostalgia about it. I loved the focus that was given to the pussycats and the other POC on the show particularly the WOC. So lets go through the episode naturally these are just my own thoughts and opinions and there will be spoilers.
The Pussycats
The episode starts out with a new narrator and this time it is Melody that is narrating instead of Juggie. I also love how she starts out saying ‘this is a story about a town’ but then changes it to ‘no this is a story about three girls.’ I like that emphasis that this is focussed on the pussycats and not the usual Riverdale town plots. We get given some information on what Val and Melody have been up to in the seven years+ since we last saw them. Melody is now a published writer and Val is an activist and actress looks like she also does alot of painting. They both are in healthy relationships. I have to say I did love how supportive Alan, Val’s boyfriend is of Val and how he doesn’t rush her on the whole marriage thing if she isn’t ready. Also love the relationship between Melody and Nancy and again they seem very supportive of each other and like I said both relationships seem very healthy. Also I love getting more backstory on them both especially Melody because she barely talked the last time she was on the show and the actress is very good so I am glad that she was given the chance to shine in this episode.
Josie arrives at Pop’s and it was really adorable seeing Tabitha fangirling over Josie. But right away its a bit of a mystery as too why Josie is back and I actually like that they didn’t tell us right away. I did think it was a little cheesy when Josie began to sing ‘It’s All Coming Back To Me Now’ but its the kind of cheese I like and I love that song, it the kind of song you just have to sing along with, plus Ashleigh did an amazing job with the song. I also think it worked well with the trip down memory lane that she takes. Also those dresses the three girls were wearing when Val and Melody showed up were stunning. All three of them just looked amazing. Also it leads into one of the best moments in the episode which is when Hiram comes to Josie’s room complaining about the noise and she calls him a little b*tch, not once but three times. I just loved how sassy she was in that scene and not intimidated by him at all. Josie goes to the school because she wants to do some writing and wants to use the music rooms which makes sense if she is trying to kind of go back to her routes and reconnect with herself then she spent alot of time writing in those rooms. Through teaching a music class as payment for using the rooms she reconnects with Archie who convinces her to come out with the gang that night. Once again we see Josie’s no holds barred attitude come through when she calls everyone out on all the crap from the past, pointing out that she was never given a choice during there old times to veronica, about jughead robbing pop’s, betty never really talking to her in school and Cheryl with the pig’s heart. As she is leaving she runs into Sweet Pea and I think he is exactly what she needed at that moment, he was able to offer her that comfort she was looking for and they were super sweet with each other.
Josie reaches out to Melody and Val and they all meet up at the Whyte Wyrm, I think Josie was really looking to reconnect with them both because they were such a big part of her time in Riverdale as were the Pussycats. Josie is hoping they’ll record a track with her for old times sake. I do love that when she asks if they still perform both girls get their own solo performances. They kill it too I really enjoyed the songs in this episode and it does make me wish we had seen more of them in previous seasons, I think episode really did show just how much their talent was wasted in those earlier seasons. Also I am glad that they called Josie out on the way she treated them back then and how she didn’t appreciate them. But I also like that when they left it wasn’t on nasty terms you know, they weren’t trying to tear Josie down or be hurtful or mean they were just saying it how it was. They tell her that it was good to see her and they promise to think about making the track with her.
When Josie gets back to her hotel room her mother is there and we see Josie just break down in tears and we find out her reason for coming to Riverdale, whilst in Berlin she gets a call from her mother telling her that her father passed away suddenly from a heart attack. Devastated and unable to perform she just leaves it all behind and heads back to Riverdale hoping she could disappear for a while. As a quick side note here one thing I am confused about and that is are Tom and Sierra still married? Because Josie is surprised her mother is in Riverdale but that could just be because she was expecting her mother to be in New Orleans dealing with her father’s death as Sierra told Josie on the phone that she would deal with it all. But also at the end of the episode Sierra leaves with Josie. Yet I am pretty sure I saw her wedding ring still on her hand. Also in Katy Keene which I am pretty sure was set five years after the original Riverdale timeline so two years ago in the current Riverdale timeline Josie introduces Kevin as her stepbrother so if Tom and Sierra did break up then it was in the last two years. On top of that in ep 11 which I think is the last time we saw Tom he was wearing a wedding ring. So many questions. But anyway back to business. Sierra calls Val and Melody and I love her for this, she clearly understood that her daughter needed her friends support in that moment and so she explains that Josie had just lost her dad and this is what urges them both to agree to record a track with Josie but they also decide to do a one night only concert to help raise funds to reincorporate Riverdale. Josie is inspired to do this because she was given a second chance by Val and Melody and so she wants to give the gang and Riverdale a second chance too. I do feel like that has been a theme of this season, of making amends, mending broken relationships and starting over, of healing. I think last season was very much about exposing the trauma the town has gone through and this season is about trying to heal that trauma.
So we are treated to some more amazing musical performances from the Pussycats and I actually got a really warm fuzzy and very nostalgic feeling when I saw them back up on the stage with that Pussycat symbol behind them. Also the way it was shot just looked really cool, how it started out with just their silhouettes. It was also really great seeing those iconic cat ears and tails again. Josie also had a really emotional performance when she sang a song for her dad and she sees him there. Ashleigh did an amazing job and it did bring me to tears. Come the end of the episode the three girls talk about how good it felt to perform together again and how right it felt. So they all decide to go on tour together. When they are boarding the bus we learn that Alan has chosen to go with Val on the tour but sadly Nancy will not be and her and Melody have a really sweet seeing Melody off scene where Nancy assures her that they will talk on the phone all the time. Again loving the supportive significant others. Then Sweet Pea shows up and asks if he could come with them too which is another sweet moment. I am sad to see Sweet Pea go but I am also happy that he is going with Josie and that they can be happy together. Just before they leave Josie replies to her mother asking if she is ready to go with ‘Unless this town has anymore surprises for me’ and girl honey you shouldn’t have said anything this is Riverdale. So of course a old band mate comes up to Josie and Sierra and tells them that her dad was messed up in some bad things including voodoo and that he believes Josie’s dad was actually murdered. So Josie decided that her first stop on the tour is going to be New Orleans. Personally I think this would be a perfect opportunity for a spinoff.
Tabitha, Veronica and Alexandra
The other storyline in this episode was centred around Tabitha and her endeavours to turn Pop’s into a franchise. At first she asks Veronica if she would be willing to invest but Veronica explains that it would be a bad idea because of the bad money schemes Chad has got her mixed up in. But then Alexandra Cabot shows up in Riverdale and it turns out she is one of the people that invested in one of Chad’s schemes and now she wants to withdraw her money which isn’t a good thing for Veronica. So she tells Alexandra about Pop’s and encourages her to invest in that. I do have one complaint about this plot point though and that is I wish they didn’t have the part where Alexandra has come back to withdraw her money and instead just had Veronica call Xandra up and tell her about Pop’s as a way of helping Tabitha out. As it was it seemed more like Veronica was more helping Tabitha because it was getting her out of a sticky situation than because she legitimately wanted to help Tabitha. For me just having Veronica call up a potential contact/ investor just because she wanted to be a good friend would have given that women supporting women moment more impact. I mean I do kind of understand why they did it the way they did, it was to remind the audience of that plot so that when it comes up in the next episode there is some consistency there. Also it was still good of Veronica to help Tabitha out I am just a little wary because from what I remember from Katy Keene Xandra was a bit of a shady one so I am really hoping that going into business with her doesn’t cause problems for Tabitha down the line. I really enjoyed the performance of Little Shop of Horrors but what I loved even more was when Xandra suggested changing the recipe for the milkshakes Tabitha stood up to her and explained the history behind Pop’s and how its wasn’t just a milkshake or just a diner it was a legacy. Also this is kind of irrelevant but I really liked Tabitha’s lavender suit. So now Tabitha is going into business with Xandra who after being inspired by Josie’s speech has agreed to not change the recipe. I do wonder if that means she is going to be on the show more often now or whether it’ll just be a background type thing with phone calls between them. I am also wondering what Veronica’s involvement in it all is. Is she just going to be redirecting the money Xandra put into Chad’s scheme into Pop’s so that Xandra doesn’t find out that Chad’s scheme was a bad one and tell the other investors so they don’t pull out too before Veronica can fix the situation? Finances and businesses are not something I really understand. Still I did like having that representation of three strong independent business women. I just really hope this deal doesn’t go wrong somehow.
Toni and Baby Anthony
Toni’s back! I also love that the way they introduced her again was just to have her pop up from behind a counter during a musical number. In this episode Toni is about ready to pop. I enjoyed those moments when she was hoping to induce her labour like when she was dancing. In the end she goes into labour during the Pussycat’s concert interrupting the performance. Still like they said better to be upstaged by a new baby than a dead body. I am still a bit unsure as to what the family situation is going to be and whether Kevin is still going to be involved. I mean Fangs was in the room with Toni and was often seen standing next to her like at the end when they came to introduce the baby to everyone. But then Kevin was pacing outside the room like an anxious father to be and when Josie commented about how gorgeous the baby was she congratulates all three of them, so she does include Kevin in it. I mean just because Kangs broke up doesn’t mean the three of them can’t still co-parent. I also loved that Cheryl jumped in to help deliver the baby even if that delivery did happen in true Riverdale fashion and take place in the back of a diner. She also looked genuinely happy for them too. It was also super cute that they named the baby Anthony after Toni’s grandfather.
Little Moments
There were some little ship moments in the episode, obviously Cheryl helping Toni deliver her baby and also she looked a little sad when Toni was introducing the baby at the end which I think indicated that she was regretful about how things ended up between her and Toni. Also when Josie congratulates them Fangs does look over to Kevin so I think he too is happy but also a little sad about how things didn’t really turn out exactly how they planned it. There was also a glance between Barchie and another glance between Jughead and Tabitha. But I am glad that whilst there were little moments there wasn’t anything that would detract from the Pussycats as this was their episode. There were little crumbs just to plant seeds for the next episode but the main focus of the episode was never overshadowed.
Overall I do think this was a great episode that really celebrated the POC on the show and the pussycats in particular. I just really hope that this continues into the rest of the episodes going forward and characters like Tabitha and Toni do still get the attention they deserve. So far this season they have done a decent job of giving them screen time and keeping them involved with the plot. The same with the other side characters that were often neglected like Kevin and Fangs and Reggie. I would also love a Pussycats spin off so fingers crossed for that. Anyway that’s it for now so until the next episode.
