I was really, REALLY hoping that I wouldn't have to make a post announcing this, because the last thing I want to do is cause any problems/drama, but I feel like I need to give a heads up/explanation or something for some new...I guess policy changes regarding who I will be blocking in the future. I've already had some...let's just say not so great/passive aggressive comments on some of my Peaky Blinders fics and posts featuring my OC. In all honesty, the Peaky Blinders fandom kinda intimidates and scares the shit out of me. I'm already pretty paranoid about receiving hate, so this was just sort of the nail in the coffin as far as my tolerance for this stuff.

Personally, I like Grace as a character and I have chosen to portray her and her relationship with Tommy and my OC as positive. I understand that for many, you probably don't like/agree with that choice which is fine. But I am also not going to unnecessarily open myself up to getting sent shit over this.

I want to make it clear: I do not care if you like or dislike Grace. Hell, I get it. The way many of you feel about Grace is probably how I feel about Lizzie. That isn't what this is about. This is about me needing to make sure that I keep my fandom and writing experience as positive for myself as I can. Frankly, if you constantly are posting things that are nasty about Grace or her fans, I don't trust you anymore to not come onto my blog and leave me hate comments. But at the same time, if I block you and you're someone who posts negative stuff about Grace, please don't take it personally. I'm sure that most of you are nice people who wouldn't be shitty and comment mean stuff about someone's fic or posts. I'm just trying to take preventative measures to make sure to limit the possibility of me receiving hate.

How is it that the only people who ever randomly message me seem to always end up leading to incredibly surreal conversations. Shout out to:

the guy who messaged me to try and tell me to "stop denying myself" when i said i didn't do/really believe in energy work, and then instablocked me after saying "I doubt you're really Luci then"

the person who messaged me insisting that i was familiar to them and, even though my entire reaction was uuh we have conflicting beliefs and also ?? who are you, tried to say it was "probably safe to say we could know each other"

Hey, I’m Bosstoaster, also known as Boss, BT, and to some, Chao.  I have been in many fandoms over the past 15+ years of geekery, but most recently has been Voltron.  That’s probably why you’re here.  I am a bonafide adult who pays bills and has a job, and both of those things suck but here we are.  Cis / She/her pronouns / mid-20s / Aro / Bi

Age Headcanons?

If you go through my writing, especially Spectrum, in one fast sitting, you can see the progression of my thoughts on this (as the age discourse rose and fell).

I think it’s the intentions of the writers that they’re all in the teenage bracket, because that’s the protagonist demographic that appeals to young children (like the show wants to do) and to older audiences.  I’m almost certain that’s a top-down decision as well.  If I had to put a nail on what they’re supposed to be in the show, it would be 17-18 for H/K/L, 15-ish for Pidge and 19-20 for Shiro (and maybe Allura).  This matches the show’s timeline and their interactions, and since none of the staff seem to have discussed this, it’s a nebulous topic to begin with.

How I treat/write them is that Pidge is 16-17 (old enough to be trusted to drive a goddamn car), H/L/K is 19-20 (old enough to be going to a school that teaches you how to fly a spaceship/be proper military academy as is implied), and Shiro is 23 (based on the math of when Shiro had to be born given the dates of the show).  Allura would be 21-ish on this scale.  To me, this makes the most sense given the world building and dynamics of the show, and at this point I don’t care anymore.
