Writeblr Intro
Hello, friends!
I never made an official intro for myself, so I guess I’ll make one now.
Pls, reblog/and reply to this post to help boost this blog and support my writing. ✍️
Anyways, let’s get started:
Personal Stuff 🩷💜🩵
My real name is Teagan, but I like to go by Rue Jay Hamilton, Cosette Altair, Saga Rose, and Vanessa Night. Each pseudonym is catered toward a different audience, so for the sake of this blog, I’d prefer to be referred to as Rue, or Rue Jay.
I identify as bisexual or queer, and I am autistic. My pronouns are she/they/fae. I believe in God, but in a very progressive way (as in God is love). I also believe I was a faery in a past life, and I believe that all religions have their right to exist.
I’m a Gen Z American 🇺🇸 who took five years of French class and was in French Honor Society. I wouldn’t say I’m bilingual, as I still have to use WordReference to look up words, but I’m mildly conversational in French, chaotic in English, and eager to learn other languages. I’m a pharmacy tech in addition to writing, as well as an actor/actress, dancer for fun, singer/songwriter, and novelist.
Fun facts!
My music taste is unconfined. As long as it has a good message and beat, I love music.
I’m a Shakespearean fanatic — Romeo & Juliet is my favorite play.
I love Sarah J. Maas. I have most books by her.
I love the Descendants franchise. Cameron Boyce was my favorite actor in the series. (RIP Cameron Boyce 😔)
One of my favorite musical artists is Dove Cameron. My favorite song by her is Lethal Woman.
Another series I love is The Hunger Games. I’m currently reading The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, and I can’t wait for Sunrise of the Reaping. (Also: RIP Donald Sutherland 🪦)
A show I love is High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. My favorite character is Ashlyn (played by Julia Lester) because she’s so powerful in her character arcs. (Madlyn forever 😻)
I have a boyfriend (Taken 🔒❤️ 7/13/2024).
About My Writing!
I write a variety of fiction genres, but it mainly comes down to romance (contemporary/tragic/dark), plays, historical fiction, fanfiction, contemporary fiction , fantasy (high fantasy/dark fantasy/urban fantasy/etc), and occasionally sci-fi (dystopian).
The most common themes are love, self-discovery, and identity, with focal points on diversity, especially in the LGBTQ community. Serious topics can be found. Moral ambiguity has piqued my interest. There is a lot of drama and death, with some comedy. I call my stuff dark. Relationships are also central to my books.
I'll add a WIP intro later.

omg sandra headcanons…
i feel like people headcanon her as being a “popular girl” in high school but i feel like this ignores the fact that she’s a theatre kid who’s very serious about it and thinks too much of herself… like realistically people would have HATED her. idk if you’ve watched glee but i think high school sandra is very rachel berry coded. i don’t think she really had that many friends because she spent all of her time dedicating herself to being an actress.
AWFUL driver. getting a lift with her is like getting in a death trap. she has road rage and tests god any time she is behind the wheel.
she loves the idea of baking but she consistently burns everything she tries to make. this frustrates her because she tries to follow the instructions perfectly and it still never comes out right. it’s a curse.
you know that i’ve got some thoughts about her family. personally i think she’s the youngest of 3-4 girls. i know you have the same headcanon as me of her mother being a failed actress and so pushing sandra to succeed where she couldn’t, but my addition to this is that she tried this with sandra’s sisters too but they went into more academic fields (eg medicine, law) and so that pressure kind of fell on sandra as like a “last resort” if you know what i mean. and then because of that sandra kinda became her mother’s favourite which caused a bit of tension with her sisters.
has glasses but hates wearing them. usually wears contacts instead but as she gets more comfortable with the drama society she starts to wear them more often.
firmly believe her bi/pan awakening was the movie charlie’s angels. i think teenage her loved that movie. like it just fits in my head.
i think she knows a little bit of guitar and piano. not heaps, just kind of your basic chords and melodies, but enough that she can play and sing at the same time y’know.
that’s all i have for the moment but if i think of more i will send them your way
1. She was that theatre bitch and her only friends were also people in theatre who took it as seriously as her (cough cough, nothing’s changed!)
2. Her road rage is so bad literally anyone else with Cornley wants to drive but won't let her know it's because she's so bad. Even pre-drivers license Lucy broke the law (at Robert's behest) to drive instead of Sandra.
3. I agree!! After she and Max get together, he bakes everything, and she reads the recipe. 5 outta 10 times it doesn't turn out not the best, because Max misheard her. But it's still better than when she bakes.
4. I fully agree about Sandra and her mother pushing her dreams on her, with her sisters. Even though I do headcanon she only has one sister, but still in STEM, much to their mother's chagrin.
5. The glasses thing is so real!!! And it adds to a goes wrong of her glasses breaking and not having contacts and having to do shows kinda blind (so me coded) and running into people and props and sets.
6. I love the idea of her bi/pan awakening being Charlie's Angels, not only on brand but because of the meta pun/joke. Also so real of her, honestly.
7. OML, I just had the thought of her playing a duet with Jonathan when they were dating, but always falling behind/hitting the wrong note. And him politely correcting her (but it still getting on her nerves because it's Sandra and she has to be the best and he shouldn't be correcting her!) And then after she gets with Max, or just with any of her other friends (Annie or Vanessa), they'd play bad together and laugh at their mistakes, and she wouldn't get angry at herself because she'd be so focused on the other person.

White male fandoms r a mess and a lot of them do too much when it comes to the gf, Austins fans r the same. Bt Kaia also is *allegedly* a Zionist, does seem to social climb and is seen as a bad actress, beyond the Austin fandom lol so i get why folks dnt care for her. Hating someone is, imo a lot, so i dnt personally condone that tho bt sum ppl just aint going to lik her, it is what it is
Giiiiirlllll.... if you think White male fandoms are a mess, you should see the KPop fandoms rofl 🤣 They make the White male fandoms look like CHILD'S PLAY lol 😆
Re: Austin's Fandom/Kaustin...
Like any fandom, there are some who strongly dislike who Austin is dating rn, but with Austin's fandom, I get the impression that it's more so who they think Kaia is that they don't like. I don't get the impression that they're against Austin dating ANY woman, I just don't think they like him dating her.
Some fandoms out here can get real territorial and don't even want the guy dating anyone.... (like Chris Evans' fandom for example lol 🤭) and that's usually because the actor stayed "single" in the public eye for way too long, so now, when he does start dating someone seriously, his fans don't know how to handle it lol 😅
I don't get that impression from the Austin fans. Most fans were already used to him dating Vanessa for years, so it's not like they don't want him to date anybody. I think most people DO want to see him with a great woman! 👍🏾 Most of us just want to see him dating a genuinely sweet, talented, and kind young woman, who is (preferably) close to his own age 🥴, and doesn't seem like a clout-chaser or attention-seeker. In addition to the things you've already mentioned, some fans also have picked up on certain things re: Kaia's personality that are not congruent with the type of person they would prefer him to date. But that's a topic for another day. 👀
Other fans just don't think he looks as happy in this relationship as he has in others, and they wonder why he's still in this thing when they both sort of seem a little "meh" about each other at this point lol 😆
Idk... if there are any other Austin fans out there 👋🏾 who can chime in? Lol 😅 I can't speak for the entire fandom. I can only say what I've personally witnessed some fans say. 🤷🏾‍♀️
Anyway, I don't hate the girl, I just think they are a bit ill-matched.
And like you said, nobody HAS to like her just because he's dating her. 🤷🏾‍♀️ I def don't think fans should be sending her death threats or anything crazy like that, but I don't think fans have to love her. Most didn't really care about her before he started dating her, and they won't after they break up.
Honestly? #REALTALK I know this is a very unpopular opinion in these parts, but I personally think that Austin and Vanessa should have just stayed together, at least until after the whole "Elvis" press and awards stuff was over, and THEN broken up. 👀
I think he should have put a ring on it, and rode the Elvis thing TOGETHER. But hey, that's just my personal opinion.🤷🏾‍♀️ I'm sure their relationship wasn't perfect, and obviously there had to have been some issues if they broke up in the first place, but I just feel like things would have been very different had they stayed together.
With that said, I'm really happy for V and her hubby Cole and her new baby! ❤️ 🥰
I think she def won the breakup if you ask me lol. 😅🤷🏾‍♀️ She looks happy, thriving, and glowing, and Austin looks....in his relationship 🥴 👀

not me watching the Five Night at Freddy's movie and getting emotional- this movie was so well written for the fans, I LOVE that a producer finally stopped appealing to the critics and the masses and just wants to do as much fanservice as humanly possible. (Spoilers, duh)
The lore, as complex and sometimes contradicting as it can be, was shortened to the core of the entire franchise and was basically all you needed. Also the decision to include Vanessa as Williams daughter?? hello?? And Mike just being a rando that stumpled upon the entire thing while having a connection to it, UGH, so good.
Abbys actress was so cute and played the role just right, children are highly imaginable and just accept weird stuff so her being friendly to ghosts because they're children like herself is pretty realistic. One thing I wish they would've expanded on was Garretts fate, I was lowkey expecting him to possess Golden Freddy - but oh well, maybe we'll get a sequel in the future that'll tell us more? I got pretty emotional during the scenes where Mike found out that the animatronics are basically vessels for vengeful, sad child ghosts who cannot escape their murderer and the fort scene made me tear up a bit.
They could've easily went the full on horror route and made the animatronics the villains who tried to randomly murder people but they gave them personalities, reasons on why they're so aggressive and why they want Abby to stay with them.
And Springtrap/William was just - so good. They used him just right in the movie, not too much and not too little, the ending was AMAZING. The springlock scene fullfilled all the memes we had over the years with people traumatizing their parents with this exact scene LMAO.

Good morning, sweet Alice. I haven't read anything yet, so I'm coming in blind. I'm also glad I did send my thoughts in before so this doesn't sound disingenuous. I totally expected this but I'm gonna be honest it hurt my heart a little and here are the scattered reasons I noted.
What was the point of the donor story? Because if this was gonna go this way, all they did was separate Buddie all 6A for no reason. And again, I honestly don't get why it was there. Being the eternal cheerleader, I kept making excuses for the 6A storytelling, but apparently, it was just messy and bad.
They stole our couch metaphor. I'm sorry, but they did!!! All of the symbolism was just wasted. That was a low blow. Along with honestly all of the symbolism since the will reveal. Such wasted opportunities.
I actually don't understand the choice of Marisol and Natalia. They honestly just were extensions of Taylor and Anna again in different packages. Even the undertones of the stories looked like the same format as the latter's.
They robbed Ryan of an amazing opportunity for a coming out story. I honestly don't get what it was building, too, if it was this it. Marisol is adorable, but I don't see any difference from Anna, the actress, or the cute blind date. It just feels weird.
That's the short version. Trust me, you will be my therapist the next few months. I don't think season six will be something I rewatch again for a while. I'm so grateful ABC is taking over and that wasn't just it, because I will say again, just seemed vapid
I do feel optimistic that ABC took it for a reason, and a small part of that is the investment in Buddie. Don't get me wrong, it's all an investment, but the rest are pretty settled storylines. So fingers crossed!!
Also, just to make you laugh. ABC if you are reading... I wouldn't be mad if you opened with Kameron and Buck platonically raising BK Jr. (Buck Jr) together. Just some chaotic besties who Mother Maryed a baby. And Eddie spends all his time with his best friend and said baby because also, why not raise another kid together. Then they fall in love, and Kameron wants to get her groove back, and Buddie are overly gay protective big brothers about it all. Till one day, it's Ravi at the door. Then Kamerone and Ravi with Buddie raise kids and build an apartment empire together!!!!
Hello, my lovely darling! *hugs* Thank you for sending your thoughts! If you've read my 618 meta by now, you probably know that I feel very similarly to you...
I've mentioned that I see three possible scenarios for how s6 was shaped, and IDK which one we witnessed. Did the donor story play out as it was meant to, or was its ending changed in a rush? IDK, but the way it ended up playing out, the only thing it tied with is Natalia's name, which tells us they planned for her to be at the birth as soon as she was introduced. And I would be devastated if we found out that this was the planning all along, since 6a. If it was meant to be progress for Buck, it wasn't quite like how they wanted to present it, 'coz once more he was going above and beyond for others, regardless of the personal toll for himself, and then at the end it tied in with a romantic r/s that seems to be the same type of mistake, of jumping in with his whole heart into a commitment before he's sure, based on time and getting to know each other, not fantasy, that this girl really is who he wants to buy furniture together with...
Yep, I said the same in my meta about Natalia and Marisol. 911 literally hit the same beats with them, with even less investment in these LI's. And while Marisol was cute in her phone call, she and Eddie had even less of a build up than either Felisa (the actress) or Vanessa (the blind date).
It would be my honor to be here as your therapist until we get s7. ;) *hugs even more* Trust me, I think we all need that. But yes, endlessly happy that ABC took the show and I wanna believe they understand exactly how much letting Buddie go canon would benefit them and their new investment.
LMAO That was one wild ride, you should def write that as a fic! Sending you all the love. And as always, my ask tag. xoxox

Sam Hanna is heading to The Aloha State!
Vanessa Lachey is thrilled to welcome LL COOL J to Hawaii! ET was on the set of the third season of NCIS: Hawai'i, when the actor, whose real name is James Todd Smith, brought Sam Hanna, his NCIS: LA character, to The Aloha State.
Lachey, who plays Jane Tennant on the franchise's Hawaii iteration, gushed about the addition to the cast, which came after LL COOL J wrapped a 14-season run on NCIS: LA.
"Todd fits in great," Lachey told ET. "... He fits in like he's part of the family. That is the beauty of NCIS, and the beauty of casting as well. They put so much thought in their characters, into their agents, and there definitely is a camaraderie that they have. It's an unwritten and unspoken rule, and I think more so in Hawai'i. We welcome everyone with open arms. It's called our Ohana for a reason. We've definitely welcomed him."
Lachey added with a laugh, "He fit right in, just smooth and silk, but don't tell him I said smooth and silk. I don't want it to go to his head."
The actress additional noted that she is thrilled to have LL COOL J around as much as possible, for both personal and professional reasons.
"First of all, Vanessa Lachey would keep him here because he's constant entertainment, but I would be a terrible Special Agent in Charge if I didn't keep Sam Hanna in Hawaii and utilize him for what he can give," she said.
As for how his transition to the island life has been, LL COOL J told ET that it's "just a different world, but I'm enjoying it."
"Los Angeles is obviously much more cosmopolitan. Hawai'i is an island, and it has an island vibe, and an island feel. There's definitely a good energy and a charm," he said. "... A lot of the tensions that exist on the mainland don't really exist here. They're much more subtle. Its volume is turned way down on a lot of the social and political rhetoric that may be so prevalent on the mainland... It's just good energy and a good vibe here."
When it comes to his season 3 arc, LL COOL J teased, "We're delving into this special unit that Sam was a part of called NCIS Elite. He has a lot of tricky things associated with NCIS Elite. It's a top secret thing, a little pilot program. He's talking to Jane about it, things transpire, different things happen. Sam's on a mission. I promise you, it's always a surprise, baby."
Not a surprise is the NCIS franchise's continued success, as it gears up to celebrate its 1,000th episode.
"I still can't believe I'm a part of this incredible franchise. To be the newcomer -- the baby at three seasons -- and to be able to celebrate 1,000 episodes of a television show, I don't know if people really know how big of a feat that is," Lachey told ET. "... I'm just honored and I'm constantly humbled and I'm very grateful. But I also don't take it for granted."
LL COOL J agreed, noting, "It's pretty amazing. It feels nice to be a part of a big franchise like this. It's one of the biggest television franchises in the world and the fans are embracing it and loving it. It's pretty impressive."
The reason for the franchise's success, LL COOL J speculated, is thanks to "the banter, and the fun, and the humor combined with the action."
"The fact that it really delves into things that are going on in the real world," he added as another reason the franchise continues to be popular. "... The cases may be more condensed and we may solve them a lot quicker, but ultimately, we're dealing with stuff and stories that are out there. There's an endless supply of material and writers really care about what they're writing."
Lachey concurred, noting, "Every time I get a script I know it's going to be something that I'm going to have to live up to and that excites me."
"I think that that's why this team is so great at what they do; they don't get complacent," she said. "... They want to keep bringing it to the fans, and they want to keep reinventing it, and they want to keep evolving it. I mean, we brought Sam Hanna to Hawai'i. Who knows what's gonna happen next! That's what I love about it."

Watched V/H/S 99 tonight! Glad I got to see it before spooky month is over. Some brief comments by segment (in order of appearance):
Shredding: 5/10, pretty standard ghost fare. I appreciated the ending quite a bit, that was less standard! A neat twist. Points docked for some nasty racism between protagonists.
Suicide Bid: 5/10, more standard ghost fare. If I hadn’t read about the worst fraternity and sorority hazing had to offer, I’d think this was ridiculous. To be honest, though, I wouldn’t be shocked to find out that a real sorority pulled the stunt that the fictional one did here.
Ozzy’s Dungeon: 7/10. This is rated partly on potential—the seeds of amazing things are here. It needed to be a full movie, where character motives and supernatural lore could be more fully explored. Right now there’s some awkward pacing and twists that arrive without good buildup. But the base concept was REALLY strong and creative. Sonya Eddy (lead actress) absolutely killed it, I was riveted by every second of her performance. And I hope to see more from Flying Lotus (writer and director for this segment), especially something full length.
The Gawkers: 8/10. Do we really need to have more men treating women as objects and committing various sexual crimes? I’m tired of seeing that in this franchise. The good thing here was that hot damn did they get their comeuppance for their behavior. I loved seeing a mythical Ancient Greek monster starring in her classic role! As I’m typing this, it also occurs to me that the stop-motion segments (which provided the frame story and were a part of this segment) were almost certainly a shoutout to Ray Harryhausen’s stop-motion work on Jason and the Argonauts and Clash of the Titans. I definitely recognized a few moments in those connecting bits. Very nice touch.
To Hell and Back: 9/10. LOVE this take on demons and hell. It’s funny, gross, creative, and pleasantly ominous. I can’t wait to see more from Vanessa and Joseph Winter—they also did Deadstream. And there’s Melanie Stone, who was ALSO in Deadstream, and plays the delightfully unhinged witch Mabel here.
All in all, a good time. Definitely hit or miss, but that’s been my issue with all the V/H/S movies. In an anthology made by so many different creative teams, not everything will meet my personal taste! It won’t all be the same style or quality or theme. And that’s okay.

As the NCIS universe gears up to mark a major milestone, Vanessa Lachey is opening up about how the moment holds extra significance in her life.
On Monday, April 15, NCIS will be celebrating its 1,000th episode, followed by NCIS: Hawai'i airing the franchise's 1,001st episode. Lachey, 43, currently leads the Hawaii-based series, starring as Jane Tennant, whom she has portrayed since the show debuted in September 2021.
"It's just a beautiful franchise to be a part of," Lachey tells PEOPLE. "We are hitting 1,000 episodes on April 15th, which not very many scripted primetime shows can say that. And I am just honored to come on in some capacity to add to that."
According to Lachey, the season 3 episode won't just serve as a reminder of how far the franchise has come and to "kick off the next 1,000" — it'll also be a way for her to reflect on her own past.
Calling the episode a "full-circle moment," Lachey explains, "It dips into my mother who abandoned me. It is a very emotional episode, it is a very deep episode."
"It's actually Daniela Ruah, the actress on NCIS: LA, directed it," Lachey continues. "A lot of stuff happens, and I'm nervous. I'm always going to be nervous."
Those nerves, she says, often rise up due to her background on television, which previously consisted of light-hearted roles or gigs.
"I came from hosting and comedy acting, and this show has allowed me to really dive into some depth," she says of NCIS: Hawai'i. "And this episode, specifically with Dani directing, I think has got some really great stuff that I hope the fans love and take to."
Lachey also admits it was "hard" to have a storyline on the show mirror such a difficult moment in her life.
"It was crazy to be walking that line," says the actress, who also currently co-hosts Love Is Blind with husband Nick. "It's so literal, because looking at this person that's playing my abandoned mother, while I'm thinking of the literal woman who abandoned me, and then, [the director says], 'Cut, bye, Vanessa. Great job, see you on Monday.' Getting on a plane, going to Love Is Blind."
Even with the jarring contrast of her two jobs, Lachey says she found the experience to be rewarding.
"It was great that I had that in my arsenal, and I could see how people say acting is healing," she explains. "So in the same way that Love Is Blind gives me and Nick that marriage therapy and healing, this show — and specifically this episode, the 1,001 — is allowing me a lot of healing."
"And it brought up a lot of things that I've done since then, personally, as Vanessa Lachey, and also Jane Tennant, which she's done since her mother left her," she adds. "So I hope you like it."
During season 3 of the CBS hit, Lachey has also gotten a chance to work with LL COOL J, who is currently guest starring as Sam Hanna, his character from NCIS: LA.
"We've been fortunate to have him," Lachey says of her costar. "He just adds another layer. What I've realized is he adds another layer for my character, Jane Tennant, to be more — I don't want to say that my guard is down, but it's definitely another layer to her that the audience hasn't gotten to see yet. So I'm totally grateful that we are able to do that. It's a fun dynamic."
"He is who he is, like what you see is what you get," she continues. "He comes in and he's larger than life, and he's a big teddy bear, and he's always got music going, and he's always bringing the good vibes... So it's been a great layer for us to have in Hawaii."
Lachey also believes LL COOL J's guest appearance is representative of the franchise's overall growth and expansion.
"I think that LL's character, Agent Sam Hanna, is allowing our ensemble of NCIS: Hawai'i to expand in a way that we weren't before," she shares. "And you're able to see different dynamics grow. We, as the cast, are able to kind of dive into different layers of each character. And so he's literally and figuratively shaking things up for us. And what more can you ask for when you kick off another season?"
"Every year, you want to kind of think of a way that you can evolve the franchise, and I think this is a really great way that we can do it," she adds. "It gets people talking about the show, and that's a beautiful thing."

I’m fortunate that I’ve found someone who has that philosophy … [Love] is the most powerful thing. When it comes to my family, friends, a relationship … it centers me. You only live once, and I want to be proud of everything that I do and just have fun. I want to be able to say that I had a really fulfilled, fun life.”
Talking about Nick, an ex:
“I was in a relationship previously where I had to hide everything and it wasn’t my choice. I had to go through different exits and take separate cars and do the craziest things, and it just really wasn’t worth it. It was like a year of my life completely wasted.”

March 30th:
Justin sits down with Complex and talks about Selena and growing up in the game:
Complex: Obviously, you and Selena are fodder for the gossip blogs everyday. How hard is it to keep your relationship private?
JB: It’s so hard, because everyone’s got a camera-phone, and now everyone wants to get their picture on the blogs. So they’ll send anything that they have to the blogs. So you don’t really get any privacy. If I want to go out to eat, if I’m in L.A., I just have to expect that there’s going to be someone there. That’s the only thing that I don’t like.
Complex: Is it tough for you guys? A lot of people like, hate it. Do you guys hate it, or is it like, “This comes with the territory, we’ve got to deal with it, it sucks?”
JB: I’m kind of both. I don’t like it, but I understand it. I’ll be covering my face or something, and the comment that pisses me off so much is, “Oh, get over it, Justin. You’re famous. People are going to take your picture. Just suck it up. You’re rich. You’re making a lot of money. Suck it up. This is one of the things that you have to do.” I’m like, “Yo I just got off an eight-hour flight. I’m tired. My eyes have bags under them. I’m not trying to take pictures.” I’m not going to come to your house, wake you up out of a deep sleep and start snapping your picture, no matter how you look right now. It doesn’t matter. When I get off a flight, I’m not trying to sit there and let them take pictures of me. I’m tired. I’m scratching my eyes. I just don’t like taking pictures in general.
Complex: There’s been high profile couples in history: Justin and Britney, Jay and Beyoncé. Jay and Beyoncé kind of kept it private. Everyone knew they were together, but they kept it quiet. Even with the kid, they kept it so under wraps. Do you learn anything from those relationships? And do you guys talk about that?
JB: Yeah. I mean, for me, it’s like, there’s no way to hide it completely, because then it would be unfair for us. Then, we’re not even able to have a relationship. It’s like, “You take this car, and I’ll take this car, and then we’ll meet up at the spot. Then, you go in this door, I’ll go in this door. We’ll end up crossing ways. You get back in this car. We’ll cross over, do a James Bond. You go through the kitchen. I’ll go through the back area. Then we’ll meet in the dressing room and see each other.” At that point, it’s like, it’s not even a relationship. You’re just hiding from everyone. That’s unfair and unhealthy, man.

"They wrote a song together and it’s beautiful - it’s amazing - I don’t know if it will make the album, but if not I’m sure they’ll release it at some point, because it’s a really great record. Justin: I dunno! She just carries herself in a very elegant way. And my family loves her, which is usually hard because my mom’s really picky. My mom wants, you know, a good Christian girl with good manners.
UsWeekly: Do you understand girls better now?
Justin: Well, every girl is different, so they are hard to figure out. Like, the way most men work is the same. But each woman works differently. It’s like I can’t figure them out! But I do know girls like you to tell them you love them and that they’re all beautiful all the time. So I do that a lot with any girl I’m with. I tell them that as much as possible.
UsWeekly: Most romantic gift you’ve ever given?
Justin: I’m not saying to who- but I gave a girl an expensive diamond bracelet recently. It was so pretty, I knew she’d love it!

Selena and Justin were strolling an outdoor mall in Calabasas when paparazzi began harassing them as they were trying to leave. According to witnesses (and photos taken) this photographer was so aggressive that he even blocked Justin's car, and was said to be rudely harassing Selena "about the herpes (coldsore) on her lip" while trying to capture a photo of her. After they began harassing Selena, Justin got out of his car and went to smack the camera from his hands and him and the photographer both fell off the curb.
The photographer was taken away by ambulance AND filed a police report that named Justin as the culprit. The Los Angles County Sheriff's office is investigating and say they will talk to Justin.
One of the girls who supposedly was there shared this:
"long story short; the paps were blocking his car and wouldnt move, he got mad after asking them to move, justin tried to knock their camera, the pap and justin both fell off the curb, he lost his shoe and hat while fighting him, selena and justin left and came back because selena lost her phone, and the paps would not get out of her face, and then they left and now the paps are trying to get money from the whole thing"
Another girl that was allegedly there as a witness had nearly the exact same story as above, except in addition she added the paparazzi were rudely asking Selena "about the herpes on her lip," and that's when and why Justin knocked his camera.

Law enforcement sources said Selena is among the witnesses detectives would like to talk to. The photographer complained of pain and was taken by the Los Angeles County Fire Department to a hospital, where he was treated and released, officials said. The sources, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the investigation was ongoing, stressed that the probe was in its early stages.

June 28th:
Justin cut short a pre-taped interview with U.S. radio show Mojo in the Morning after the host compared him to Justin Timberlake and quizzed him about a potential romance between his mother and One Direction's Harry Styles.
Thomas Carballo, the host of the show, was in the middle of a phone chat with Justin when he (rightfully so) took offence at his line of questioning - and hung up.
The 10-minute interview got off to a bad start when Carballo told Justin he thought he was Timberlake the first time he heard him.
Justin said, "That's funny because our voices sound nothing alike... Saying I sound like somebody else is definitely not a compliment."
Justin eased up when talking about his new song Maria, which was inspired by the woman who falsely claimed he was the father of her baby last year, but he lost his cool when Carballo got personal and asked if he was worried about Harry Styles falling for his mum.
The DJ said, "Do you worry about Harry around your mum, since he likes older women?"
Clearly upset, Justin then mumbled something about Carballo's mother and, as the radio presenter explained his mum was dead, Justin had already hung up the phone.
A record company representative then tried to convince the DJ that Justin's phone had cut off, explaining, "I can't get him. He's in a really s**tty area."
She later revealed Justin was "really upset" with the questions, adding, "He probably won't be calling back."

Lewis McAskie, Caitriona Balfe, Jude Hill, Kenneth Branagh, Jamie Dornan and Ciaran Hinds attending the Irish premiere of film Belfast at the Waterfront Hall, Belfast
‘Belfast’ leads the way as slew of Irish stars receive Bafta nominations
There is a distinct green hue to this year’s Bafta nominations, and leading the way is Kenneth Branagh with his coming-of-age comedy-drama
It has received six British Academy of Film and Television Arts award nominations, including in the Best Film category.
The film’s Irish co-stars, Ciarán Hinds and Caitríona Balfe, have also made the awards shortlist.
The movie, which was inspired by actor and director Branagh’s experiences growing up in Belfast during the Troubles, has received rave reviews and awards, including the People’s Choice Award at the 2021 Toronto International Film Festival and the Best Screenplay Motion Picture at the 2022 Golden Globe Awards. It also received six Golden Globe nominations.
Branagh (61) was also nominated for Best Original Screenplay while veteran actor Hinds and Dubliner Balfe received their first Bafta nominations for Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress respectively.
The film was also nominated for Best Film and Outstanding British Film while Belfast-based film editor Úna Ní Dhonghaíle was nominated for Editing.
Branagh, who was made a freeman of Belfast in January 2018, said the slew of nominations for what he described as his “most personal film yet” is “an amazing tribute to a remarkable part of the world”.
“This news, on top of the incredible box-office support from UK cinema audiences, is truly fantastic. We are humbly and delightfully gobsmacked,” he said of the €13.8m the film has taken at box offices globally since its release.
The film, which is currently showing in cinemas, is set in 1969 in Belfast and depicts the life of a working-class Protestant family from the perspective of their nine-year-old son, Buddy. It co-stars Belfast actors Jamie Dornan and Vanessa Ifediora as well as veteran actor Judi Dench.
Balfe said: “Thank you so much to Bafta for this nomination. This film, this story, is such a beautiful exploration of love, kindness and the need for tolerance at a time when it’s needed more than ever.
“I am so grateful to Ken for entrusting me with playing Ma. And to be nominated alongside this wonderful group of actresses truly is an honour.”
Co-star Hinds said: “I’m quietly thrilled and genuinely grateful, not only about my nomination but for all the nominations the film has received from Bafta.”
Meanwhile, fellow Irish actors Ruth Negga and Jessie Buckley were both nominated for Best Supporting Actress.
Buckley, from Killarney, Co Kerry, was given the nod for her role in US actor Maggie Gyllenhaal’s directorial debut The Lost Daughter , which also features Normal People star Paul Mescal.
Ethiopian-born Negga – who shot to fame following her role as Rosie in the RTÉ gangland series Love/Hate – was nominated for her part in the black and white Netflix film Passing , based on the 1929 novel.
The Bafta winners will be announced in London on Sunday, March 13. The nominations were announced yesterday in London.

HITTING NEW HEIGHTS
BY MARCUS SCOTT
ORIGINAL RENT STAR DAPHNE RUBIN-VEGA TAKES YOU INSIDE THE IN THE HEIGHTS FILM
Qué quiere decir sueñito?” The disembodied voice of a girlchild ponders. “It means ‘little dream,’” responds an unseen authoritative figure, his feathery tenor with a soft rasp and tender lilt implying there’s more to the story.
Teal waves crash against the white sand coastal lines of the Dominican Republic and a quartet of children plead with the voice to illuminate and tell a story. Usnavi de la Vega (played by Anthony Ramos), sporting his signature newsboy flat cap and full goatee, begins to narrate and weave a tall-tale from the comforts of his beachside food cart: “This is the story of a block that was disappearing. Once upon a time in a faraway land called Nueva York, en barrio called Washington Heights. Say it, so it doesn’t disappear,” he decrees.
And we’re off, this distant magic kingdom ensnared within the winding urban sprawl of farthest-uptown Manhattan, the music of the neighborhood chiming with infinite possibilities: a door-latch fastening on tempo, a ring of keys sprinkling a sweet embellishment, the splish-splash of a garden hose licking the city streets like a drumstick to a snare fill, a manhole cover rotating like vinyl on a get-down turntable, the hiss of paint cans spraying graffiti like venoms from cobras and roll-up steel doors rumbling, not unlike the ultra-fast subway cars zigzagging underground. So begins the opening moments of In the Heights, the Warner Bros. stage-to-screen adaptation of the Tony Award-winning musical by composer-lyricist Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton) and librettist Quiara Alegría Hudes (Water by the Spoonful) that is set to premiere in movie theatres and on HBO Max on June 11, 2021.
This stunning patchwork of visuals and reverberations combine to create a defiant and instantly memorable collage of inner-city living not seen since Walter Hill’s 1979 cult classic The Warriors or West Side Story, the iconic romantic musical tragedy directed on film by Robert Wise and original Broadway director Jerome Robbins. With Jon M. Chu at the helm, the musical feature has all the trademarks of the director’s opulent signature style: Striking spectacles full of stark colors, va-va-voom visuals, ooh-la-la hyperkinetic showstopping sequences and out-of-this-world destination locations.

A Kind of Priestess
Joining the fray of proscenium stage vets in the film is Broadway star Daphne Rubin-Vega, who originated the role of Mimi in the Off-Broadway and Broadway original productions of Rent. She returns to major motion pictures after a decade since her last outing in Nancy Savoca’s Union Square, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2011. When we caught up with Rubin-Vega, she was hard at work, in-between rehearsals with her In the Heights co-star Jimmy Smits on Two Sisters and a Piano, the 1999 play by Miami-based playwright Nilo Cruz, a frequent collaborator. Rubin-Vega netted a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Play for her role as the enraptured Conchita in Cruz’s Anna in the Tropics; that same year Cruz was awarded the 2003 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, making him the first Latino playwright to receive the honor. Despite significant global, social and economic disruption, especially within the arts community, Rubin-Vega has been working throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
“People around me have [contracted] COVID… My father-in-law just had it. I’m very fortunate,” Rubin-Vega said. “This collective experience, it’s funny because it’s a year now and things seem better. Last year it was, like, ‘Damn, how inconvenient!’ The one comfort was that, you know, it’s happening to every one of us. That clarity that this is a collective experience is much more humbling and tolerable to me.”
The last time Rubin-Vega graced Washington Heights on screen or stage, she acted in the interest of survival and hunger as a probationer released after a 13-year stint in prison and given a new lease on life as an unlicensed amateur masseuse in the basement of an empanada shop in Empanada Loca, The Spalding Gray-style Grand Guignol horror play by Aaron Mark at the LAByrinth Theater Company in 2015. In In the Heights she plays Daniela, an outrageously vivacious belting beautician with a flair for the dramatics, forced to battle a price-gouging real estate bubble in the wake of gentrification.
“She’s like the deputy or the priestess,” Rubin-Vega said. “Owning a salon means that you have a lot of information; you’re in a hub of community, of information, of sharing… it’s also where you go for physical grooming. It’s a place where women were empowered to create their own work and it is a place of closeness, spiritual advice, not-so-spiritual advice. Physical attention.”
She said, “Daniela also being an elder; I think she’s not so much a person that imposes order on other people. She’s there to bring out the best—she leads with love. She tells it like it is. I don’t think she sugar-coats things. What you see is what you get with Daniela. It’s refreshing; she has a candor and sure-footedness that I admire.”
With the film adaptation, Chu and Hudes promised to expand the universe of the Upper Manhattan-based musical, crafting new dimensions and nuances to two characters in particular: Daniela and hairdresser Carla, originally portrayed as business associates and gossip buddies in the stage musical. On the big screen they are reimagined as romantic life partners. Stephanie Beatriz, known to audiences for her hilarious turn as the mysterious and aloof Detective Rosa Diaz in the police procedural sitcom romp “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” co-stars as the fast-talking firecracker, Carla.
It’s been a year waiting, you know. It’s like the lid’s been on it and so we’re just so ready to explode.
Where Is Home?
“Well, Quiara and Jon really expanded on what Lin and Quiara originally created and now they’re partners—and not just work partners, right? But they’re life partners,” Beatriz said at a March press event celebrating the release of the film’s two promo trailers. “What was so gratifying to me as a person who is queer is to see this relationship in the film be part of the fabric of the community, and to be normal, and be happy and functioning, and part of the quilt they’ve all created.”
She continued, “So much of this film is about where home is and who home is to you. And for Carla, Daniela is home. Wherever Daniela is, that’s where Carla feels at home. I thought that they did such a beautiful job of guiding us to this, really, you know, it’s just a happy functioning relationship that happens to be gay and in the movie. And I love that they did that, because it is such a part of our world.”
Rubin-Vega said she had no interest in playing any trope of what one might think a lesbian Latina might look or act like, noting that the queer experience isn’t monolithic, while expressing that the role offered her a newfound freedom, especially with regard to being present in the role and in her everyday life.
“Spoiler alert! I felt like not wearing a bra was going to free me. Did I get it right? Am I saying that gay women don’t wear bras? No, it was just a way for me to be in my body and feel my breasts. To feel my femaleness and celebrate it in a more unapologetic way,” she said, laughing. “To be honest, I was really looking forward to playing a lesbian Latina. It’s something that I hadn’t really explored before. Latinos [can be] very homophobic as a culture, and I wanted to play someone who didn’t care about homophobia; I was gonna live my best life. That’s a bigger thing. It’s also like, maybe I’m bisexual. Who knows? Who cares? If you see that in the film, that’s cool too, you know?”
Stand-out performances abound, especially with regard to the supporting cast; newcomers Melissa Barrera (in a role originated by Tony Award winner Karen Olivo) and Gregory Diaz IV (replacing three-time Tony Award nominee Robin de Jesús) are noteworthy as the aspiring fashion designer Vanessa and budding activist Sonny. Olga Merediz, who earned a Tony Award nomination for originating her role as Abuela Claudia, returns to the silver screen in a captivating performance that will be a contender come award season. However, Rubin-Vega may just be the one to watch. Her performance is incandescent and full of moxie, designed to raise endorphin levels. She leads an ensemble in the rousing “Carnaval del Barrio,” a highlight in the film.
Musical Bootcamp
“We shot in June [2019]. In April, we started musical bootcamp. In May, we started to do the choreography. My big joke was that I would have to get a knee replacement in December; that was in direct relation to all that choreography. I mean, there were hundreds of A-1 dancers in the posse,” Rubin-Vega said. “The family consisted of hundreds of superlative dancers led by Chris[topher] Scott, with an amazing team of dancers like Ebony Williams, Emilio Dosal, Dana Wilson, Eddie Torres Jr. and Princess Serrano. We rehearsed a fair bit. Monday through Friday for maybe five weeks. The first day of rehearsal I met Melissa [Barrera] and Corey [Hawkins], I pretty much hadn’t known everyone yet. I hadn’t met Leslie [Grace] yet. Chris Scott, the choreographer, just went straight into ‘let’s see what you can do.’ It was the first [dance] routine of ‘In The Heights,’ the opening number. He was like, ‘OK, let’s go. Five, six, seven, eight!’”
Rubin-Vega said that she tried to bring her best game, though it had “been a minute” since she had to execute such intricate choreography, noting that they shot the opening number within a day while praising Chu’s work ethic and leadership.
“There was a balance between focus and fun and that’s rare. Everyone was there because they wanted to be there,” she said. “I think back to the day we shot ‘96,000.’ That day it wouldn’t stop raining; [it was] grey and then the sky would clear and we’d get into places and then it would be grey again and so we’d have to wait and just have to endure. But even the bad parts were kind of good, too. Even the hottest days. There were gunshots, there was a fire while we were shooting and we had to shut down, there was traffic and noise and yet every time I looked around me or went into video village and saw the faces in there, I mean…it felt like the only place to be. You want to feel like that in every place you are: The recognition. I could recognize people who look like me. For now on, you cannot say I’ve never seen a Panamanian on film before or a Columbian or a Mexican, you know?”
Another Notion of Beauty
Rubin-Vega’s professional relationship with the playwright Hudes extends to 2015, when she was tapped to [participate in the] workshop [production of]  Daphne’s Dive. Under the direction of Thomas Kail (Hamilton) and starring alongside Samira Wiley (“The Handmaid’s Tale,” “Orange Is the New Black”), the play premiered Off-Broadway at the Pershing Square Signature Center the following year. Rubin-Vega also starred in Miss You Like Hell, the cross-country road musical by Hudes and Erin McKeown, which premiered at La Jolla Playhouse in 2016 before it transferred to The Public Theater in 2018. With her participation in the production of In the Heights, she is among the few to have collaborated with all of the living Latinx playwrights to have won the Pulitzer Prize; Hudes won the 2012 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for her play Water by the Spoonful, while Miranda took home the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for Hamilton. Speaking on her multiple collaborations over the years, Rubin-Vega also acknowledged having known Miranda years before they would join voices.
“Lin to me is like a little bro or legacy; he’s a direct descent to me from [Rent author] Jonathan Larson, which is a bigger sort of all-encompassing arch,” she said, though she stressed that she auditioned like everyone else, landing the role after two or three callbacks. “Quiara and I have a wonderful working and personal relationship, I think. Which isn’t to say I had dibs by any means because…it’s a business that wants the best for itself, I suppose. […] So, when I walked in, I was determined to really give it my best.”
Life During and After Rent
Rubin-Vega has built an impressive resume over the course of her career, singing along with the likes of rock stars like David Bowie and starring in a multitude of divergent roles on Broadway and off. From a harrowing Fantine in Les Misérables and a co-dependent Stella in A Streetcar Named Desire to a sinister Magenta in The Rocky Horror Show, her evolution into the atypical character actor and leading lady can be traced back 25 years to January 25, 1996, when Larson’s groundbreaking musical Rent, a retelling of Giacomo Puccini’s 19th-century opera La Bohème, premiered at the New York Theatre Workshop. On the morning of the first preview, Larson suffered an aortic dissection, likely from undiagnosed Marfan’s syndrome and died at the age of 35, just ten days shy of what would have been his 36th birthday.
On April 29, 1996, due to overwhelming popularity, Rent transferred to Nederlander Theatre on Broadway, tackling contemporary topics the Great White Way had rarely seen, such as poverty and class warfare during the AIDS epidemic in New York City’s gritty East Village at the turn of the millennium. Rubin-Vega would go on to be nominated for the Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical for her role as sex kitten Mimi Márquez, an HIV-positive heroin addict and erotic dancer.
The show became a cultural phenomenon, receiving several awards including the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and four Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Rubin-Vega and members of the original Broadway cast were suddenly overnight sensations, recording “Seasons of Love” alongside music icon Stevie Wonder, receiving a photo shoot with Vanity Fair and landing the May 13, 1996 cover of Newsweek. Throughout its 12-year Broadway run, many of the show’s original cast members and subsequent replacements would go on to be stars, including Renée Elise Goldsberry, who followed in Rubin-Vega’s footsteps to play the popular character before originating the role of Angelica Schuyler in Hamilton, for which she won the 2016 Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical.
When the screen adaptation of Rent hit cinemas in 2005 under the direction of Chris Columbus, Rubin-Vega’s conspicuous absence came as a blow to longtime fans. The confluence of pregnancy with the casting and filming process of Rent hindered her from participating at the time. The role was subsequently given to movie star Rosario Dawson.
“First of all, if you’re meant to be in a film, you’re meant to be in it,” Rubin-Vega said. “That’s just the way it goes. It took a quarter of a century but this [In the Heights] is a film that I wanted to make, that I felt the elements sat right. I always felt that Rent was a little bit darker than all that. Rent to me is Rated R. In The Heights is not. It’s also a testament. Unless it’s sucking your soul and killing you softly or hardly, just stick with it. This is a business and I keep forgetting it’s a business because actors just want to show art. So, it’s really wonderful when you get a chance to say what you mean and mean what you say with your work. It’s a really wonderful gift.”
Rarely-Explored Themes
Like Larson’s award-winning show and the film adapted from it, In The Heights is jam-packed with hard-hitting subject matter, addressing themes of urban blight, immigration, gentrification, cultural identity, assimilation and U.S. political history. When Rubin-Vega’s character Daniela and her partner were priced out of the rent for her salon, most of her clientele moved to the Grand Concourse Historic District in the Bronx. Her salon, a bastion of the community, is met with a polar response when she announces she’s joining the mass exodus with the other victims of gentrification who were pushed out by rising rents. The news is met with negative response from long-time patrons who refuse to take the short commute to the new location. Daniela counters, “Our people survived slave ships, we survived Taino [indigenous Caribbean people] genocide, we survived conquistadores and dictators…you’re telling me we can’t survive the D train to Grand Concourse?”
The question is humorous, but also insinuates a more nuanced understanding of the AfroLatinidad experience in the Western world. The film also looks at the American Dream with a naturalistic approach. Leslie Grace, who plays Nina Rosario, a first-generation college student returning from her freshman year at Stanford University and grappling with finances and the expectations of her community, noted that while her character “finds [herself] at some point at a fork in the road,” she may not have the luxury to be indecisive because of the pressures put on by family, community and country.
“The struggle of the first-generation Americans in the Latino community is not talked about a lot because it’s almost like a privilege,” Grace asserted. “You feel like it’s a privilege to talk about it. But there is a lot of identity crisis that comes with it and I think we explore that.” Speaking on the character, she elaborated: “Home for her is where her heart is, but also where her purpose is. So, she finds her purpose in doing something outside of herself, greater than herself and going back to Stanford for the people she loves in her community. I really relate to where she’s at, trying to find herself. And I think a lot of other people will, too.”
Worth Singing About
For Miranda, a first-generation Puerto Rican New Yorker that grew up in Inwood at the northernmost tip of Manhattan before attending Wesleyan University where he would develop the musical, this speaks to a larger issue of what defines a home.
“What does ‘home’ even mean? Every character is sort of answering it in a different way,” he said. “For some people, home is somewhere else. For some people, home is like ‘the block’ they’re on. So, that’s worth singing about. It’s worth celebrating in a movie of this size.”
Given the current zeitgeist, it’s no wonder why Chu, Hudes and Miranda decided to pivot with adapting the stage musical for the big screen, leaning in to tackle the plights and predicaments of DREAMers [children of undocumented immigrants seeking citizenship] stateside. In one scene, glimpses of posters at a protest rally read “Immigrant Rights are Human Rights” and “Refugees Are People Too.” Growing up in a multicultural household as a Latina with a Black Latina mother, a white father and a Jewish American stepfather, Rubin-Vega said she was used to being in spaces that were truly multiracial. Nevertheless, there were times when she often felt alien, especially as a du jour rock musical ingenue who looked as she did in the mid-1990s through the 2000s.
“Undocumented people come in different shapes and colors,” she noted. “To be born in a land that doesn’t recognize you, it’s a thing that holds so much horror… so much disgrace happens on the planet because human beings aren’t recognized as such sometimes.”
The film “definitely sheds light on that, but it also talks about having your dream taken away and its human violation—it’s a physical, spiritual, social, cultural violation,” Rubin-Vega said. “There’s a difference between pursuing dreams and being aware of reality. They’re not mutually exclusive. What this film does, it presents a story that is fairly grounded in reality. It’s a musical, it’s over the top… but it reflects a bigger reality, which is like an emotional reality…that people that are challenged on the daily, have incredible resolve, incredible resoluteness and lifeforce.”
She said: “Growing up, looking like me, I got to ingest the same information as everyone else except when it came time to implement my contributions, they weren’t as welcomed or as seen. The dream is to be seen and to be recognized. Maybe I could be an astronaut or an ingenue on Broadway? You can’t achieve stuff that you haven’t imagined. When it talks about DREAMers, it talks about that and it talks about how to not be passive in a culture that would have you think you are passive but to be that change and to dare to be that change.”
Dreams Come True
Dreams are coming true. Alongside the nationwide release of the much-anticipated film, Random House announced it will publish In the Heights: Finding Home, which will give a behind-the-scenes look at the beginnings of Miranda’s 2008 breakout Broadway debut and journey to the soon-to-be-released film adaptation. The table book will chronicle the show’s 20-year voyage from page to stage—from Miranda’s first drawings at the age of 19 to lyric annotations by Miranda and essays written by Hudes to never-before-seen photos from productions around the world and the 2021 movie set. It will be released to the public on June 22, eleven days after the release of the film; an audiobook will be simultaneously released by Penguin Random House Audio.
Hinting at the year-long delay due to the pandemic, Rubin-Vega said, “It’s been a year waiting, you know. It’s like the lid’s been on it and so we’re just so ready to explode.”
Bigger Dreams
“Jon [Chu], I think, dreams bigger than any of us dare to dream in terms of the size and scope of this,” Miranda said. “We spent our summer [in 2018] on 175th Street. You know, he was committed to the authenticity of being in that neighborhood we [all] grew up in, that we love, but then also when it comes to production numbers, dreaming so big. I mean, this is a big movie musical!”
Miranda continued, “We’re so used to asking for less, just to ask to occupy space, you know? As Latinos, we’re, like, ‘Please just let us make our little movie.’ And Jon, every step of the way, said, like, ‘No, these guys have big dreams. We’re allowed to go that big!’ So, I’m just thrilled with what he did ’cause I think it’s bigger than any of us ever dreamed.”
Speaking at the online press conference, Miranda said, “I’m talking to you from Washington Heights right now! I love it here. The whole [movie] is a love letter to this neighborhood. I think it’s such an incredible neighborhood. It’s the first chapter in so many stories. It’s a Latinx neighborhood [today]. It was a Dominican neighborhood when I was growing up there in the ’80s. But before that it was an Irish neighborhood and Italian. It’s always the first chapter in so many American stories.”

Emerging of Kalon
Tumblr media
Request: I need some new johnny depp fics in my life where I want a reader with insecurities and johnny reassuring her that he loves her the way she is.Maybe she is a bit more chubby than his past gfs and she has to wears glasses.Abd thanx so much for accepting it.
Yooo this imagine is soo important to me. As a person who had a lot of insecurities and has suffered through depression. It is really important for me to spread a certain message to others like me. I have this belief that you aren’t born with insecurities, you are made to have them.Don’t point out things to people that would make them uncomfortable in the long term guys it becomes quite scarring for them and it also makes you a damn bully. Also it is normal to have stretch marks, tummy rolls ,acne, scars ,body hair and all that stuff, Man or Woman or any other gender you identify as.That’s what makes you human. If people can’t accept you for who you are please cut them out of your life.Ya’ll beautiful and I love ya’ll. Hope you like this !!
................
Pairing : Johnny Depp x Reader
Warnings : TW,Nosy people who like putting others down for fun, Signs of depression,Suicide attempt,Angst,Swearing, Fluff, Johnny being the absolute sweetheart he is.
................
Kalon ;Latin for ideal beauty in all, physical ,spiritual and moral forms
1.Instigation.
“I still can’t believe THE Johnny Depp went for you after his past ones”,said someone snapping her out of her trance.”Pardon ?”,she asked as if to confirm whether she heard him right . “I mean look at you....His exes were all supermodels weren’t they? Not a single flaw..”,the man guffawed.”Well you have have a micropenis why did your wife choose you?”,her bestfriend snapped crudely making her cringe.”Let’s go Y/N “, Y/BF/N said dragging she out of the restaurant .Well this wasn’t how I wanted college reunion to end up like, thanks Nathan she thought. “Are you alright Y/N ?”, Y/BF/N asked. “Of course”. No I’m not. “It doesn’t bother me at all.” It bothers me too much. “Nathan’s a dick .Don’t let it get to your head EVER”. But he’s right, his words are already in my head. “Yeah...”
2.The disquieting
“Hey glasses ! Looking ugly as always.”
“Look at her hogging like a pig, hey fatty you want more?”
“Darling why don’t you try going on a diet.”
“Don’t watch telly, you’re blind enough already”
“Jason what do you think of Y/N ?” “Damn man she was not even my type”
“Please Stop !”, Y/N woke up with a jerk, breathing in short gasps .”Johnny-”,she stops cutting herself off as she looked at the empty looked at the empty side on her bed. He isn’t in the country she remembered . Silence. She stared at the framed picture of them together on the wall. Plip. A tear fell. Plip Plip. Two more, before she couldn’t control it any more. The past wouldn’t change. She knew it would haunt her forever. But they had stopped for a while. But since Nathan ,it came back harder than ever. She didn’t tell Johnny, she’d never tell him , the last thing she wanted to do is to become a larger burden. So she cried herself to sleep every single day.
3.Repressing
Y/BF/N frowned as she looked at Y/N’s lunch. “Since when do you eat salads ?Hell, that isn’t even salad it’s just *ugh* lettuce....”,she says looking at the leafy stuff with absolute disgust. Y/N looked at her as if she did not understand what she was saying “I love salads, you know what? I’m not that hungry.....better get back to work! See you later!”,she said leaving as she didn’t even let the other speak. Starving, Hurting, Looking into the mirror and hating herself. The cycle continued. This was going to be dangerous in the days to come and she knew that too.
4.Avoiding
6 missed calls from Mom
19 missed calls and 87 messages from Y/BF/N
40 missed calls and 150 messages from Johnny
3 notifications from Twitter.
No one had seen her in 4 days .The telly changed channels at Johnny’s apartment .Things scattered around as a trembling hand set down the remote . Fat tears dampened the pillow as her eyes read the news headline. ‘Johnny Depp at a dinner date with ex wife Vanessa ? Is he finally done with his simple girlfriend ?’
5. Falling
This was it.She ended up the way she predicted she’d end up 10 years ago. Weak,Tired,Empty and Lonely. She stared at the bathtub as it filled itself until it was overfilled, water spilling out of its sides as it splashed onto her feet. She didn’t flinch at the coldness. She stayed robotically still, looking down at her palm. A blade. Without hesitating she got into the tub,the tap still running. She didn’t think anymore, tears wouldn’t fall even if they wanted to. She closed her eyes as she let her self go ,ignoring the frantic ringing of her phone and the banging on the apartment door.
6. Alerting
To say Johnny was concerned was an underestimation.Y/N wasn’t picking up his phone since several days .He was distracted, couldn’t concentrate and worry filled his entire existence. He didn’t know what to do,even going as far as asking his ex wife for advice. He decided to go back ,back to his girlfriend’s loving arms.
The moment he stepped back into the city he took his time.Picking out her favourie flowers ,the chocolate she always loved and a little something of importance. He ignored the notifications is phone was chiming with, his mind only full of thoughts of her....The thoughts were short lived , disturbed much to Johnny’s dismay by Y/BF/N’s call. He ignored once, ignored twice but after that he knew something was wrong.”Johnny !”, panicked voice spoke through the phone. A frown replacing the man’s smile “Did Y/N text you that absurd note too?” “No,wait Y/BF/N let me check”,he put the call on hold as his eyes skimmed over the words displayed on his screen. His phone now dropped on the car floor he wished all of it was a dream. They stopped as he stormed out, back to his apartment. He knocked wildly on the door but not a voice came nor a cackle. He threw his body on the door several times ,”Goddamitt Y/N OPEN THE FUCKING DOOR DON’T PLAY WITH ME RIGHT NOW !”.In his panicked feat he had forgotten he had the keys until they dropped out of his jacket pocket. He didn’t wait a moment as he fumbled it into the key hole ,kicking the door open as soon as it opened.
Silence.
Splosh . The sound of water hitting the ground from the bathroom echoed in the whole house.
“Y/N ?”, Johnny softly whispered as he pushed open the bathroom door. A horrific scene unfolded before him.
7.Mourning
It had been two days and Johnny wouldn’t budge. He saw red that day and the site still wouldn’t leave his thoughts alone. He would neither eat,nor sleep as he sat beside his beloved girlfriend who lay on a hospital bed. Dark Enough by Amanda played on the radio. The text message, and the talk with Y/BF/N replayed in his head as if war replayed in a retired soldiers dreams. “I didn’t know you were hurting that bad”,he whispered, tears threatening to fall again. He place his head on her stomach as he let the silent tears fall, until her hand fell on top of his head.
8.Resuscitation
Johnny jerked up ,his eyes as wide as saucers, as he froze with eyes full of pain and hurt.Y/N did not dare meet his gaze. She felt ashamed and disgusted. But those feelings were immediately replaced with shock as Johnny almost lunged at her, hugging her tight. “I was so scared I was so fucking scared when I saw that text and then you drowning in the red water filled in the bathtub ! I thought you’d left me ! I thought you died you weren’t breathing...How dare you think of yourself that way how dare you think you were not good enough !? You were the best fucking thing that happened to me since my kids goddammit !”. Y/N had never seen Johnny this mad.Hell, she had never even seen him cry. She didn’t know how to answer him, she was too ashamed. He wouldn’t break the hug, as if he would loose her if he did. He loved her too much. “Why ?”,he asked again,as if he was begging for an answer. Even a word. He just wanted to hear her voice. “I was scared...”,her voice cracked coming out much broken than she predicted. “ I didn’t think I deserved you, I thought I’d never reach the levels of those beautiful actresses and models.I was scared to tell you about my past..I was scared to bother you...”. Johnny’s heart broke. He never thought his Y/N would think that way. She was always smiling .Not even a little frown on her face. Always there for everyone. Yet no one comforted her. How could he never see it? Of course he couldn’t see it she was perfect to him.His Y/N was the most perfect person in the world. “I love you”, he blurted. He never said that.He was too shy. But he hugged her tighter ,” I love you so much. Even with scars, insecurities or that ugly face you make when you see things you do not like. You were, have and always will be the most perfect to me. Please....don’t do that again...”
9.Emergence
Y/N was discharged from the hospital in a few days. Johnny wouln’t leave her side. All his attention would be on her to see if ate well, and loved herself. Y/N felt safe. And she wasn’t wrong . Johnny was everything she deserved.
They sat on the rooftop of a cafe in Paris. A calm silence passing over them. “Y/N ?” ,Johnny asked. “Hmm?”,she hummed along, silence entailing after. ”Marry me ?”,he asked. That was the day Y/N was the most happiest, and did the beautifully emerged Kalon say yes? you’d ask. She said it without a second to spare. After all our Kalon had found her wings.
“No one is born ugly, we’re just born in a judgemental society”~ Kim Namjoon(BTS)

All right, reactions to Mando 2.05, “The Jedi”, in...semi-coherent form. Spoilers, obvs. I hated this episode, so keep scrolling now if you don’t want to see negativity.  This is not in any kind of order except stream-of-conscious.
again, I reiterate, spoilers.
again, I reiterate, this is REALLY negative.
Rosario Dawson...yikes.
how...did Bo-Katan know that Ahsoka was on Corvus? are they in contact? since when? Ahsoka seems to have been on Corvus for long enough to be a nuisance to the Magistrate (Morgan Elsbeth), but normally Ahsoka is very efficient and she just...really does not seem to be here? I did not get the impression she was planning on sticking around for any period of time.
(the same could be true for Frog Lady and Bo-Katan on Trask several episodes back. that wasn’t a convert, that was three Mandalorians hanging around the port in cloaks. I guess they could be doing that on the regular, but? would the Empire not then be more worried about being attacked by Mandalorians?)
there was only ever a very, very slim chance that I was going to be happy with any translation of Ahsoka from animation to live action.  I am on record as thinking that animation is the medium for Star Wars and that live action is always going to be a weaker medium than animation and that a lot of things that can be done in animation just cannot be translated to live action in any meaningful form.  I knew Ahsoka’s fighting style couldn’t translate to live action convincingly (here’s what I said about the mo-capped duel in TCW); it never occurred to me that they couldn’t pull off TOGRUTA given that Shaak Ti, you know, exists, and also there are so many excellent Ahsoka cosplayers.
(Consider KM Creations’ excellent silicone lekku (S7), which have beautiful movement; the cosplayer behind that is CallMeSnips and her epilogue prototype is from SWCC is in there somewhere.  I think Rei Kennex’s are latex (you can tell they don’t have much movement) but at least they’re the right length.  I think Ahsoka94′s are also latex (again with the movement); this is her Mortis vision grown-up Ahsoka.)
AND YES, THE LEKKU/MONTRALS WERE A DEAL-BREAKER FOR ME.
I feel very “you have made your bed and now you have to die in it” about that -- apparently the reasoning is for stunts and movement, but for me here’s the thing: her lekku length wasn’t optional.  This is not the equivalent of changing a hair style, which some people seem to think (believe me, I have read so many hot takes); this is like...I’m trying to think of a good comparison.  Like putting Peter Mayhew or Joonas Suotamo in a wig because Chewie’s head was too hard for the actor to see out of, or giving them normal human hands because they can’t grip with the Wookiee hands.
Also your main character wears a helmet at all times that (if it’s anything like my Mandalorian helmet) is pretty poor visibility and full body armor and THIS was your breaking point for stunts?
Ahsoka’s lekku and montrals grow as she ages. These are about S7 length; as @reena-jenkins put it, THEY DE-AGED HER HEAD.  Ahsoka fans coming in know this.  PEOPLE SAW THE REBELS EPILOGUE.
I wonder how many of the people being self-righteous about being totally fine about Ahsoka’s lekku are the same people who claim that Katee Sackhoff is too young to play Bo-Katan.
this also puts them in a weird position in regards to the inevitable merchandise: do they go with normal Ahsoka from TCW and Rebels, the one everyone is familiar with, or do they go with these stunted lekku?
(I can’t believe they’re going to make Her Universe sell merch with this Ahsoka on it. it’s not going to happen but I wish HU was going to be petty enough to not sell any nu!Ahsoka merch.)
Here is some nice art of how Ahsoka’s lekku and montral should have looked.
hoo boy were those prosthetics also just Bad.
“but the stunts” buddy I’m sure Pedro Pascal and his various stunt doubles aren’t having a great time in full armor with almost no visibility either
if you’re going to put the character in, do it right
YOU CAN’T CHEAT
look, I am really, really aural -- the best example I can give is that even though intellectually I know that Matt Lanter and Hayden Christensen both play Anakin Skywalker, I literally cannot parse them as both being the same Anakin Skywalker and for that reason TCW and the PT don’t exist for the same continuity for me.  (This also goes for Ewan McGregor and James Arnold Taylor, Natalie Portman and Cat Taber, and Samuel L. Jackson and TC Carson. I can kinda cope with the multiple Palpatine VAs. Yes, the decision to use Hayden and Sam in Ahsoka’s vision in “Shattered,” even blending into Matt’s voice from Hayden’s, threw me so badly I couldn’t take the vision seriously.)  Ashley Eckstein has a very distinctive voice, and moreover has been the only person to ever voice Ahsoka up to this point (even in the Ahsoka novel audiobook). Barring a MIRACLE I was never going to be able to parse another actress’s voice as Ahsoka’s, solely because of how my brain works.
I could probably have parsed someone else’s face because animated Ahsoka is pretty stylized but the voice thing is a huge problem for me because of how aural I am.
(I say this but when Squadrons did a more live action-style Hera -- knowing they mo-capped Vanessa Marshall I think they used Vanessa’s face for Hera’s, which is also what it looks like on the revised art and face sculpt for the Black Series Hera -- I kind of had a meltdown about it (for...weird reasons). And that was the same VA.)
(The timeskip between TCW and Rogue One, then Rebels, probably saved Saw Gerrera for me here, but he was also never a main character.)
can you believe that Sam Witwer’s Maul got more live action respect than Ashley Eckstein’s Ahsoka
I love Sam’s Maul but wow
this is particularly jarring because Dave Filoni and Ashley Eckstein always seemed like they were friends? I realize that this gets skewed by how little of their actual lives we see online, but that is the vibe that I’ve gotten from interviews and social media posts.
can you believe that TROS gave more respect to Ashley Eckstein’s Ahsoka than Dave Filoni’s Mando episode did (here is her statement on TROS.)
back in March, when the Dawson casting rumors first dropped (or leaked, as the case may be), Ashley posted a statement about it saying that she was not involved in The Mandalorian. she has over the years been very vocal about desperately wanting to play live-action Ahsoka, who is a character solely associated with her up until today, and honestly this just breaks my heart.
I am not the massive Ashley Eckstein fan that many Ahsoka fans are, but I have never heard anything bad about her (I saw her at my hotel at SWCC while I was waiting for my roommate to arrive! that’s the closest I’ve ever gotten to her, a distance of about six feet), and I really desperately hope that someone told her about this beforehand and she didn’t find out from watching the episode.
Also, while I’m here talking about Ashley Eckstein, the characterization here was extremely off, in that specific way that happens when a writer/director is working with their absolute favorite character, DAVE FILONI. I do trust Ashley to course-correct Dave on Ahsoka (in the same way we’ve heard about Sam Witwer pushing back on people about Maul), and that...was not happening here.  (I think Katee Sachoff said something similar to this about Bo-Katan in her interview last week, as well.)
how did you get Bo-Katan so right and Ahsoka so wrong
look, Dave Filoni is truly living up to George Lucas’s legacy in that he can story tell pretty well but he’s not actually that great at nitty-gritty of writing and directing. (none of the really good TCW episodes are his.)
this episode made me think of A Friend in Need (which he directed) which is not, like, a BAD episode but quite notoriously includes the Bo-Katan ass-slap and also Ahsoka beheading four Mandalorians at once.
it also includes a helpless village of oppressed and exploited Asian-coded civilians who are there mostly as background scenery so the bad guys can be bad and the heroes can feel righteous
I’ll come back to that one
the level of violence in this episode was...weird. honestly, too high? in a way that probably would not have registered if it was anyone but Ahsoka. look, I am an animated shows person. I know TCW and Rebels inside and out. I know that neither one is particularly shy about killing off faceless bad guys (though if you watch Rebels S1 compared to Rebels S4 they really dial back the amount of fatal violence the main characters commit in the last season, lol).  But this felt off for Ahsoka in a way I can’t really articulate.
why is Ahsoka attacking a random Mandalorian (her allies are Mandalorians!) who is walking through the woods WITH A BABY? WITHOUT WARNING?
part of that is just her movement -- when they animated her for TCW back in 2008, they made a deliberate decision to give her mannerisms and movement and a fighting style that a human can’t do because she isn’t human and animation can do that. which means that they hobbled themselves when they came to translating her to live action because uh a human can’t do that.
something about her lightsaber blades looked really, really wrong and I can’t put my finger on what. it’s like they just used the illuminated blades of the stunt sabers but didn’t do the extra CGI that the films do? I don’t know.
Ahsoka did a LOT of dramatic posing and what WAS that?
Dave can’t direct live action, that’s what that was
since when can you canonically convey that much information mind to mind
are Ahsoka and Grogu a dyad in the Force (I know the answer is no but also: what? what was happening?)
the only people we’ve seen who can do that sort of thing are Quinlan Vos and Cal Kestis, who both have the rare talent for telemetry, and even that’s not mind to mind communication, that’s touching a thing and going “YIKES”
you are telling me that Ahsoka Tano, whom six months ago we saw take on Darth Maul, a whole barrage of Mandalorian warriors, and her entire clone trooper battalion and walk away without a scratch, had to work up a sweat fighting one woman with a spear
you do know that we all saw TCW and Rebels right
and here’s the problem! this episode makes zero sense if you HAVE seen TCW and Rebels because (1) she doesn’t look right (2) she doesn’t fight right (3) timelines? we’ve never heard of them? (4) is Thrawn back? did you find the Chimaera? (you all do remember that Ezra and Thrawn aren’t out there alone and are in fact with a 40,000 man crewed star destroyer right) (5) did you NOT find them? (6) are you even looking? (7) this is supposed to be AFTER the Rebels epilogue unless you’ve decided to take advantage of that specific ending scene not being super specifically dated and if it’s before IT MAKES IT EVEN WORSE! because I desperately hate that epilogue and its implications EVEN AS IT IS! (8) why would you call this episode “The Jedi” when since 2013 Ahsoka’s whole thing has been not being a Jedi
to be fair I’m pretty sure S7 tried very hard to course correct that but unfortunately, they could not because the rest of canon exists
are you still trying to deny me grown Ahsoka and Rex when we know you got Temuera back for a five second shot of Boba
to be fair I would have the same aural problems with Temuera voicing Rex because that’s Dee Bradley Baker as far as I’m concerned (I reiterate that this is because of how my brain process character and sound, not anythign else)
if you haven’t seen TCW and Rebels this is a random Jedi wandering around for no specific reason namedropping a completely random person who has no prior significance unless it’s going to turn up later
this entire show has consisted of namedropping random people and things with no prior significance within the show itself and it remains entirely unclear whether they’re ever going to have significance within the show itself
look, I can buy Ahsoka not wanting to train the kid both for her stated reasons and for some implied stuff from earlier on in canon (the kids in the Ahsoka novel, the babies from Future of the Force), even what happened with Ezra, and obviously she has Plans and cannot haul a baby around with her when that baby is going to be a baby for an indeterminate amount of time
which honestly is something that ought to come up because even if Ahsoka wanted to train the kid by the time she grew old and died he might, if we were very lucky, have advanced to being essentially a pre-teen and then would be on his own again? this is also true for Din.
lol sure go cast yourself out into the Force, I’m sure there’s absolutely not a single darksider still wandering around the galaxy who might perk up at “ooh, free apprentice!”
I’m literally starting to think that this show takes place in an alternate universe where Luke and Leia either don’t exist or died at some point in the OT
me, baffled, last season: you’re telling me Cara Dune, Alderaanian, had never heard of the Jedi? was she not keeping up with whatever Leia Organa was doing? was the Rebel Alliance actually big enough that PEOPLE IN IT HADN’T HEARD OF LUKE SKYWALKER?
what...is Luke doing right now. isn’t he training Leia?
WHAT HAS AHSOKA BEEN DOING FOR TEN YEARS are we seriously supposed to believe she peaced out of the Rebel Alliance after Malachor and whatever the hell they’re going to make that out to be (honestly at this point I’m betting on “they will never touch it”)
does or does Ahsoka not know that Luke exists
hoo boy can you just see them trying to cast a younger Luke, or do you think they’d CGI de-age Mark Hamill?
oh yeah let’s go through this again in a season with someone else playing young Luke, let’s, I’m not emotionally invested in that so I’m prepared to be entertained
hasn’t Sebastian Stan been floated (even if just on Twitter) for young Luke?
why are these not-imperials on this planet. what are they doing here. what’s the point.
why is the planet...being burned? I was half-expecting, like, normal deforestation (in terms of logging for lumber) but I’m also a bit ??? about this.
since when is beskar resistant to lightsabers, I thought cortosis was the only thing that was? whatever, it’s new canon, they can do whatever they want. (ETA: apparently that’s been true for a while; I am more a Jedi person than a Mandalorian one as far as the EU goes and my Mandalorian lore is my weakest point.)
dear god were these fight scenes bad
I did spot Morai and I appreciated the tookas
okay, I am taking the next thing out of bullet points because I was really, really upset by it, and as an Asian-American woman it affects me directly.
I was really, really shaken by the use of village of (space) Asian people who were portrayed solely as background victims to be tortured and exploited.  Star Wars has a long history of Orientalism, and some of it I can look away from and some of I can’t.  Mando especially has a very bad track record with its treatment of Asian characters (Fennec Shand), and in recent years the rest of Star Wars live action has also been pretty bad about it; I will never forget how shaken and upset I was by Paige Tico’s death at the beginning of TLJ, and Rose’s sidelining in TROS was a lot to deal with. There has also been some pretty appalling anti-Asian racism from the Mandalorian fandom that I have seen in regards towards casting rumors about Sabine (which brought me to the point of tears as recently as yesterday).
I had been braced for Rosario Dawson Ahsoka because it’s been rumored for so long, if never officially confirmed by Lucasfilm, and after they pulled the original VA for Leia from Resistance a few years ago (without ever making an official statement but it was after she made really dismissive statements during the Kavanaugh hearings) I was still really hoping they’d pull Dawson for the transphobic assault allegations, or that the rumors were false, or...something.  I was not expecting the way that they treated the Asian civilian population here.  I kept hoping that there was going to be something, and it’s like they kept almost going there with Governor Wing (you want to make either his name or his position clear in the actual episode, maybe?) but then kept pulling back, which just made the whole population victims that had to be rescued by outsiders. And exploited, and tortured, and abused in general.
And yes, I’m aware the Magistrate/Morgan Elsbeth is an Asian-American woman.  That doesn’t make it better?  Since Ahsoka presumably kills her offscreen?
(Also Diana Lee Inosanto is a stunt performer and a fight choreographer, why is that fight scene so wooden, damn.)
okay back to bullet points to wrap up
I realize I haven’t said much about Din and the kid and that’s because they didn’t...do...much? I guess if you’re actually invested in them “YAY HE HAS FEELINGS” is a major thing but I’m not
I have flashes of being invested in Din, but the problem is that I never know what the hell this show is doing because it’s all over the place.  We are 5/8 of the way into season 2 and I have no idea what it’s trying to do: they keep setting stuff up and then not doing anything with it. I can make vague predictions based on what’s set up and based on my knowledge of canon, but this show is so weirdly set up and paced that I can never tell if they’re something for A Reason, for the lulz, or for the Aesthetic.
I feel extremely vindicated by the revelation a few weeks ago that Din grew up in a cult but I also straight-up feel like I spent the past year being gaslighted about what Mandalorians were, and that’s...not a great feeling. Do I think that the show is going to do anything with that? Fuck, I don’t know. I hope so. I know what I’d do as a writer. But I can’t predict anything they’re doing and that makes me really uneasy.
jeez, at least when George Lucas was making Star Wars you knew he was doing it to entertain himself and tell a specific story rather than constantly having to go back and wonder what story lines got compromised for a project down the road.
like, is this why they did mo-cap Ahsoka in S7, to brace us for live action Ahsoka here? I know they had already filmed Mando S2 before S1 came out. WHY THEY DIDN’T THEY REUSE LAUREN MARY KIM AS AHSOKA’S STUNT DOUBLE THEN? it’s not like she hasn’t stunted in Mando before?
if this was supposed to be a backdoor pilot to a Rebels sequel...I will flip a table
I enjoyed the Bad Batch eps in TCW S7 but knowing that there’s going to be a Bad Batch show I’m now wondering if they’re only in S7 to backdoor pilot that show
how far back does this go? did they put the Legacy of Mandalore story line in Rebels S4 solely to set up for this? especially considering that that’s the one thing in S4 that actually has saga weight and then they immediately got rid of everything it accomplished to set up for this?
I presume that this is the reason they refused to release the turnaround for Ahsoka’s epilogue look two years ago. apparently it doesn’t matter given they changed her entire epilogue color scheme and also her lekku and personality.
Look -- at the end of the day, there was only about a 2% chance I was ever going to like this episode, but I was holding out for it nevertheless. I do get surprised from time to time! I liked the Bo-Katan episode! This was, however, a hot mess. And yes: a lot of the things that bother me are not going to bother other people. (I haven’t seen anyone comment on the Asian villagers, for example.)
