Also, because I need to remind myself sometimes, there is no "wrong time" to brush your teeth in the day. You don't have to do it before breakfast and after dinner and right around lunch time. If you just ate and then remembered you haven't brushed your teeth yet, you can do it then. If you're about to eat dinner but you just got out of the shower so you're already in the bathroom and you might as well, do it then. If it's the middle of the day and you're just taking a pee break and see your toothbrush on the counter and remember you didn't brush this morning, now is as good a time as any. I used to not brush my teeth because I'd say "well I know I want ice cream after dinner, so i should wait until after the ice cream to get all the sugar off" and then by the time I had dinner and ice cream, I'd forgotten all about brushing, or I was too tired to go do it. But brushing your teeth before eating something sugary is still brushing your teeth. It's still going to be healthier for them than not doing it at all. OP is right that there's nothing shameful or immoral about not brushing your teeth, but it is important to look after your health as much as you can, and I know I always feel better mentally when my hygiene is taken care of. You deserve to have a healthy, comfortable body, as much as is possible for you.
it's never too late to start brushing your teeth again. i basically never brushed my teeth for a whole 10 years. a decade. A DECADE. i still struggle to brush my teeth once a week, but it all started with brushing my teeth once every few months. so i mean it when i say brushing your teeth once a week, a month, a year, or even a decade, is better than nothing.
and still, nothing is not shameful. it is not immoral to struggle with self care. and it is also not pointless to keep trying. anything you can do, even if its wiping plaque off with a towel, is enough. it is good to take care of yourself however you can, even if it's just trying to muster the will to. reading this post is good, too.
i believe in you and i am proud of you, even in the smallest of steps. it's okay. you can give yourself grace.
#also get an electric toothbrush if you can!#they can be expensive but only if you pay for them#they require less effort and they do a better job of cleaning your gum line and between your teeth#which is where most of the problems really happen#theyre noisy and sometimes they feel weird so i would recommend keeping a backup manual brush#esp if you are prone to sensory issues#but they do help!#also also! you can have as many toothbrushes as you need! especially if you live alone!#you can keep one toothbrush and a tube of toothpaste at each sink in your house!#keep one in the shower! my therapist put me on to brushing my teeth in the shower#and i dont do it anymore bc of the electric brusg#but doing that is what got me to start brushing my teeth more often and now i brush them just about every time i shower anyway#and re: sensory issues#its so so important to find a toothpaste you can deal with#you can use kids toothpaste!!! you are allowed to buy the bubblegum flavored toothpaste if you want!!!#if its going to help you be able to brush more!!

hello! im vegan; I love our nonhuman friends and hate speciesism. but like what is to be done about cockroaches. i have an infestation in my apartment. i recognize that humans are a minority on this great big planet, that we have taken space that belonged first to insects and animals, but. cockroaches. are there ethical ways to make them stay outta my place? is that an ethical desire in the first place. also great blog you are eloquent and patient and i tell all my vegan friends about your posts in da group chat
Thank you for the support, I really appreciate that! This is a common ethical dilemma for vegans, and I've answered it in general terms in my FAQs here, but I'll offer some more specific advice as well.
With cockroaches, prevention is the best thing you can do. I realise that it is too late for this for your apartment now, but you should start doing these things regardless, if you don't already, since they may drive out the roaches already there:
Do a deep clean immediately. That means disinfecting everything, paying special attention to areas like the top of your fridge and behind it, the backs of cupboards, behind the oven (if you can move it), under your bed, the tops of doors, behind furniture. Anywhere that you don't clean on a regular basis. Get all your furniture and appliances out and clean thoroughly. If you're doing this properly, it should take a full day of work.
Once you have done a deep clean, throw out or seal away any clutter that cockroaches could live and nest in. Paper is especially attractive to them - so any books, letters, cardboard, but also linens, piles of clothes, dishrags, tea towels etc. Get rid of it or seal it away in plastic boxes. You want your space to be as empty as possible, at least until they are gone.
While we're on throwing out, look up what their eggs look like. If you find anything with their eggs on it, sterilise it or throw it away. If it is something like a book, you will not be able to sufficiently sterilise and you'll need to throw it away (in an outside bin). Check all of the books you own, even if they look pretty clean on the shelf.
Keep your space extremely sterile after this, you need to go overboard on this now. Especially make sure you clean all surfaces that you have prepared food on, or eaten nearby. Do this daily, or as often as you can.
Wash plates and utensils immediately after use. Dry them and put them away, don't leave them on the rack.
Keep bins completely covered, clean, and empty them regularly. A separate bin for food waste (emptied daily) is a good idea. This applies to pet bowls as well.
Cockroaches are most active at night, so before you go to bed, check all the above has been done. Leave nothing out over night that they can shelter in, eat, or drink. Make the environment as inhospitable for them as you can.
With you being in an apartment, they may be coming from a neighbouring property. Seal gaps around doors and windows to prevent entry - you may need to speak to the landlord or property manager about this if you're renting.
Cockroaches need water, so take a look at whether you have any leaks around water pipes that could be providing them with a drinking source. Things like mop buckets, wet toothbrushes, drip trays in the fridge, the bottom of the bath/shower, and wet sponges also count. Anything moist needs to be covered up, or dried off after use.
This alone may well be enough to drive them out and prevent them from returning, but there are also natural deterrents (and chemical ones) that you can use. This includes bay leaves, pepper, garlic powder, dishwashing liquid, essential oils and baking soda. There are many pre-made natural ones online too, if you're concerned about chemicals.
Try these things over a period of weeks, but if that doesn't work, you need to call an exterminator as your last resort. You just cannot live in close proximity with cockroaches, they pose a health risk and they may damage the property. Your landlord or housing association may be able to pay for it or at least help with the costs, especially if you can get one or more neighbour to come out and say that they have cockroaches as well. The law requires this in many places.
Hopefully it won't come to that, exhaust everything else here before you call a professional, but don't feel bad if that is what you have to do. So long as you're doing everything possible and practicable to try and drive them out humanely, then you really don't have any other choice available to you. Just know that even if you do call an exterminator, if you don’t do everything else on this list, they will almost definitely come back
It speaks well of you that you’re concerned about this from an ethical perspective, but remember that veganism has to be practical for it to work. You have to look after your own wellbeing first, and it just isn’t reasonable to expect anyone to tolerate cockroaches in their home purely on ethical grounds.

hi, do you have any tips for living alone and romanticising your life? i am about to live on my own for the first time ever and i am excited and also a bit sad about it
oh, i totally get that feeling! i'm a person who really enjoys being alone and it still feels like kind of a bittersweet way to live sometimes. hopefully you'll settle into it easily and with some joy!
these are a couple things that have helped me, even if some are obvious:
ask people to send you mail - especially if you've just moved in. it makes such a difference to have something waiting in your mailbox when you come home to a space you're still getting used to. it reminds you that people are thinking of you, and you already belong.
this is possibly just me, but i feel unhappy in spaces if i don't "use" them enough (as in, if i've not cooked in my kitchen for a week, it feels less like "mine" and i get sad about it). in my mind feeling at home in a space is kind of like bonding with a person, it needs maintenance and intention. however you like to care for your space - organizing it neatly, cooking in it, decorating it, playing board games in it - do that with as many parts of it as you can.
find your niches - explore around where you live, find out what's close to you that you might find interesting or beautiful. it can be a café, a pretty tree, the post office, a walking route, but make a conscious effort to know your area. there's always something to love.
knowing your area includes knowing your neighbours! i'm socially pretty anxious so this hasn't always been easy but it's worth a lot to know there's someone else in the house who cares, knows your name, and can be relied on to lend you some salt, even if you do live alone.
keep necessities for guests, just in case. it can be a luxury for others to know they have a friend whose roommates don't need consideration if they want to visit or need to crash. i try to always have enough in the pantry to make a few meals for more people than myself, and i keep toothbrushes and my terrible air mattress and extra sheets and towels around. even if you don't host that often, it's good to know you could put up a friend at the drop of a hat.
have some little rituals! i pick up something from the bakery every sunday morning, and it kind of anchors me and gives me something to look forward to. having routines like this also settles you in community more easily: if you always take the same bus, you'll see a lot of the same commuters. if tuesday is your grocery day, you'll eventually know the guy on check-out for the tuesday shift. familiarity goes a long way to make you feel safe.
wishing you the best, anon; i promise there's a lot to be excited about :')
#annnnd (as if this post wasn't long enough lol) never hesitate to switch things up!#it takes so much time to settle into a space. especially if it's all yours and you have freedom to change things#see what works for you and doesn't with time and adjust it as you go; it's your world#asks#anon

Techno Magick and the innovator
I was scrolling through web pages this morning on google trying to figure out why there was such a lack of techno magic articles. Then it hit me, it’s not that there’s a lack of info out there, it’s that people are comfortable with the basics because it’s tried and true. The secret to witchcraft is to be innovative. Techno magic specifically is already a super new form of magic even with all the ways we have progressed in the modern age. So for this particular post, I am gonna outline my personal daily practices as they stand right now. As someone who uses tech more often than the average person due to my autism and natural forgetfulness, I find that magic is just as prevalent if not more prevalent in the digital space than the natural one.
My daily practices:
Every morning when I wake up, I turn on my tv to do a bit of pop culture magic with a tv show. Watching a witchy tv show helps me to get in the vibe.
Brew and breakfast: after I do my morning videomancy session, I grab my phone and headphones and go downstairs to make my coffee and start journaling or in some cases meditate through listening to an audiobook or reading a book. My coffee serves as a daily divination tool. I use incantations to scry through my coffee to see if something’s going on in the lives of people around me.
Brushing teeth and Bathroom scrying: I have an electric toothbrush and believe it or not, after practicing techno magic for so many years, I can actually feel the power level of the toothbrush and communicate with it. It serves as another way to zone out to commune with the spirits. Especially since I do this in front of a mirror.
Showering and spell craft: during my shower I use the water to rejuvenate myself and use the ambient noise of music or a YouTube video from my phone to gather my thoughts and prepare spells for the day. This also allows me to check my aura as the water and lighting is conducive to seeing my own aura.
Shaving and glamour magic: when I shave I also mentally cast glamours by listening to an instrumental music album on my phone to shift my aura to get what I need.
After I get dressed, I hop on my phone and either listen to music, prepare a digital charm bag for the day, or perform automatic writing to gather info that I might need.
Travel and tarot: on the way to work I read the tarot to see how today will go and also use spells to change traffic lights to green to get me where I need to be faster.
This is just a tidbit of what I do daily. How do you integrate tech into your daily routine? Can you use magic to help you out through the day with a bit of tech?

Love Just Happens
Part 1 - 24 in December
Description: Bill Skarsgård, a 40 years old separated father of three tries to live as simple as he can but then he meet Aurora Lou and life becomes even more complicated.
Characters: The future's Bill Skarsgård and others close to him. The rest is my own characters.
Setting: This story is set in the future but because it's hard to say how the world is then (and it isn't that important for the story) the future is similar to our time now, even with fashion and so on.
Warnings: 18+, age difference, smut, alcohol, ageism, a lot of talk about height.
Notes: New story! I must learn that I write for myself but it is nice to get some sort of interaction if you read. This is a story about a forty years old Bill but I see him looking similar to now. You know, he age well! This story can contain themes everyone isn't comfortable with so see warnings. Thank you for reading 💕
40. Forty. Forty years old. He tried the words in his head, tasted them on his lips. He didn't feel much taste at all for now, maybe the bitterness would come soon, slamming him in the chest in a weak moment. He looked at his face in the hotel mirror, he had more lines around his eyes, a darker color under them. In some ways his eyes look even bigger because of it. More scary perhaps or just wonky and funny looking? Maybe it just made him look more mysterious, dangerous and sexy? Or it was just his usual face but he just saw the signs of aging much clearer than others. He had never felt aging was something to hide, to feel bad about, but now when he stood there with his forty year old face and graying temples he felt conflicted. Two of his older brothers, working in the same industry, had said that they became adults when they were like forty, that it made them change their view of life but it would probably not be the same for him. He already felt like an adult when he was thirty and while they had only just had one kid in their forties, he already had three. He couldn't even pretend to be that liberated type of forty year old because he had three kids waiting on him at home.
"Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you!" Sang his childhood friend while walking into the bathroom where Bill stood with a towel around his hips. He smirked at his friend and shook his head while taking his toothbrush from one of the hotel's ceramic toothbrush mugs.
"How are you on your special day?" He asked and hugged Bill's shoulders from behind a bit too hard. Bill squirmed out of his hold and sighed while starting to brush his teeth.
"Same old, same old, you know? Nothing new," he said with his mouth full of foaming toothpaste.
"But you're up for a party tonight right? We want to celebrate our young man!"
Bill spat and laughed.
"Sure! Definitely! I probably need that." He sounded excited and his friend smiled big.
He had faced some stressful months with filming, producing and at the same time being there for his daughters. He had also finally found an apartment that was big enough for him and his girls. After he and their mother broke up he was the one standing without a home and finding a place suitable for him and his three daughters wasn't the easiest thing in Stockholm, especially when his oldest was almost a teenager and looked at everything skeptically. The apartment he had found was big enough so they could each have a bedroom. Even if they would probably live more with their mother because of his schedule. Still there was plenty of time they could be with him, but earlier both his oldest and second oldest daughter had chosen to not live with him because he couldn't give them the space they asked for. He had heard of it so many times, how dads would get much less time with the kids after a separation but because he and his ex had split on good terms he thought it would never happen to him. Then he realized it wasn't that easy to create a new life that would suit his daughter's needs while their mother could just continue with the life the both of them created for them.
The latest month had been stressful but his friends had forced him to make time for a trip with them over his birthday. They had hoped for at least two or three weeks but he didn't really have time for it so to make the trip as long as possible they decided to celebrate in the country he would film in after the trip, Italy. In that way his friends could stay and they could use the time he had to hang out. Several of them still had no kids and flexible jobs so they could stay that long while others just had their two weeks to set aside but Bill was happy for the time he could get with his friends. Just him and the boys, like it always had been. They could have fun, relax and eat well. He couldn't ask for more for his birthday.
×××
They had been out eating and drinking a bit too much so suddenly a loud nightclub felt like a great idea. Bill felt pumped in a way he rarely did and he actually thought the music that streamed out from the open door was okay. But the pumped up feeling started to die down when the line didn't seem to move. He sometimes succeeded in coming into these kinds of places because someone would recognize him but here in Italy no one seemed to have seen his movies. This was also a spontaneous visit otherwise he could probably fix it so they were standing on the vip list. Bill leaned against the wall and listened to his friends talking about the original old man they had seen earlier on the day. Neither they nor Bill reacted on the limo stopping outside of the entrance to the club because the line finally moved forward so they stood face to face with the guard but then they were stopped.
"It will be your time soon my gentlemen," said the guard then looked towards the limo. It prompted Bill and his friends to look at the limo too. Standing there, it felt like he had shifted place and he didn't really feel comfortable standing behind a rope like he was a fan. It was probably just some Italian Eurovision Song Contest singer with too big of an ego but when three security guards jumped out from the black limo Bill furrowed his brow. Some of his friends started to whisper just like the people after them in the line. From the limo's open door you could hear giggles and playful screams from girls but finally a high heeled strappy sandal was placed on the ground. A hand with long red nails took the guard's hand. A beautiful young woman came out from the door but Bill couldn't place her as someone famous but then another girl came out from the door and another and another. The fourth girl made some in the line whisper more loudly but when the last woman came out from the limo several people screamed of excitement. Bill looked around at the people before he even looked at the fifth girl and then listened to what his friends whisper;
"Oh, shit that's actually Aurora Lou."
"Who?"
"That singer… Don't you know who she is?"
"No?"
Bill knew who Aurora Lou was but couldn't tell you one song she sang. She felt more like the celebrity that was famous for being famous. He looked towards the girl group standing together talking and laughing between the body guards. He recognized Aurora at once. Of course she was the prettiest among the group of beautiful women. She was petite and wore high platform sneakers and a short dress. She looked young and undamaged. Bill didn't feel like he was ogling or anything, he just looked at her with curious eyes like everyone else but suddenly she looked him straight in the eyes without averting her gaze. Bill's first impulse was to look away but when he looked back at her again she turned her eyes toward him again. One of his friends looked between Bill and the giggling pop star and nudged another one to see if they saw the same thing. Bill felt his heartbeat heavy in his chest and butterflies he thought would never come back to his stomach again flutter like they were having a fist fight. Aurora continued to look at Bill and whispered something to her friend and then giggled. When a body guard started to move towards the entrance the girls followed him and Aurora looked away from Bill but he didn't feel done. He missed her gaze on him and felt almost some sort of panic in losing it. He knew it was stupid, because the eye contact had probably been by accident and the feeling of pure luck by seeing her was probably just the charisma that had once made her famous. But still he just wanted some sort of confirmation that the eye contact wasn't accidental.
The girls walked into the club led by one body guard and followed by two more. Bill looked after them then rubbed his eyes to make himself come back to reality instead of being in a fifteen year old's daydream but when he opened his eyes his friends and also others in the line looked at him with a weird expression.
"What?" He said and tried to sound nonchalant even if his heart hammered and he could feel the pride spread in his chest. Had she, that wonder of a woman, checked him out?
He tried his best to forget Aurora's eyes. He started to realize that it was a silly thought that she would have looked at him. She must have been a lot younger than him and with her beauty she could pick and choose any guy she wanted. He tried to tell himself she probably was vain and childish even if he didn't have a clue. Him and his friends sat out on the sky bar, looking out over Rome and talking memories. It was a perfect night and slowly he forgot the moment of infatuation he had experienced before.
"Bill Skarsgård?" Bill looked up at the staff girl and swallowed his drink.
"Yeah?" He asked and gave his friends a look with a big smile. He thought this was something they had planned but they looked just as surprised at the girl as he had.
"We have room for you and your friends in the VIP room, there’s a private sky bar there."
He still wore a big smile and looked at his friends with an expecting gaze. He had been in VIP rooms before and many times the parties were really wild there because the club looked between their fingers when it came to the rich and famous. His friends hollered in excitement and after some shuffling the staff girl led them up the stairs to the VIP section. While walking up the stairs Bill thought again of Aurora and silently wondered if she would be in the VIP room. He pushed his hands deep in his jean pockets and tried to follow his friends' bantering but it was hard when he just thought about dark eyes with long flattering eyelashes. He would totally embarrass himself if these thoughts continued. He wasn't the sort of guy to crush on young pop singers, but here he was mesmerized by just a look.
The VIP section wasn't as crowded as the rest of the club but still there were many people, people Bill didn't recognize at all. He guessed they were Italian celebrities and rich people outside of the public eye. Many of them were younger than him and his friends but he didn't really care. The sky bar was much more luxurious than the regular one and they were served drinks before they even sat down. Above them were small fairy lights that made it look like a million stars and the chairs were more or less regular armchairs. With an amazing view and the drinks flowing it couldn't be much better. He looked at the surrounding people while talking and laughing with his friends. His eyes paused when he saw a flash of red hair. It was one of the friends of Aurora, standing on the side of the bar balanced on chunky heels. He wished he could just ignore his curiosity and could act as unfazed as he usually did. He blamed the liquor and shook his head but when he stood up to go to the bathroom he saw Aurora dancing with a girlfriend on the dance floor. Even if they were in the VIP section people stared at her like she was a zoo animal. She didn't seem to care and danced sexily with her girlfriend and laughed so freely Bill felt his hands shake and his stomach flutter. What the hell was this? He marched away to the bathroom, annoyed at himself that he was like this. He couldn't recognize himself. He met his eyes in the bathroom mirror. He looked at his forty year old face. He looked good. He heard it often. His skin was so clear and his lips plumped and red like cherries. He dragged his hands through his hair, first he made it more messy, to look relaxed but thought he looked fake so he fixed it again. He smelled his armpits through the sleeves of his black short sleeved button up. He smelled mostly of cologne but also faintly of sweat. He sighed and dragged his hands over his jeans before peeing. He took a last look at himself in the mirror while washing his hands and took a deep breath before walking out to the club again.
The girl that made his stomach flip stood alone now by a high table messing with her phone with long nails. In front of her stood a highball glass with a clear liquid. Bill felt his heart beat hard again but felt a need to actually talk to her so he didn't have to wonder later on how she was as a person. Again, he didn't think he looked at her so intensely but something made her look at him before he even had dared to walk towards her. She smiled genuinely and gave him a sign with two fingers to come up to her. Bill smiled and swallowed hard before walking towards her with slow steps to try to calm himself down.
"Shit, you're so tall!" Aurora said and giggled. She was probably just 5'1 or something but taller thanks to her platform sneakers. Bill smiled big and scratched the back of his head.
"Yeah, yeah. Can I say you're short then?" He teased, surprised that he hadn't stuttered once. They looked deep into each other's eyes like they were magnets, pulling towards each other.
Aurora giggled and stood up more straight and fixed her long hair.
"I'm not!"
"Oh come on, you're even short in those shoes!" He looked down at their shoes and it made her look down at his scuffed sneakers. The white on her platforms looked even more white compared to his well worn shoes. She looked up at his face and smiled and giggled.
"You're Bill, right?" She asked and put down her phone on the table. Bill smiled surprised and furrowed his brows.
"Yeah?"
Aurora shrugged her shoulders with a teasing smile.
"I like your work…'' She mentioned some of his latest movies and even quoted one of his characters. He looked at the petite girl in front of him and felt a blush creep up on his cheeks.
"Thanks… I, I like yours… Work, I mean," he said and dragged his sweaty hands over his jeans again. She looked at him amused and licked her glossy lips.
"No, you don't!" She laughed and it made Bill laugh too.
"No… To be honest I haven't heard a song of yours," he said embarrassed and looked down at the table he was leaning against.
"I knew it. You don't look like a pop boy."
"A pop boy? No, no I'm not… It's actually my fortieth birthday today…" He looked at her, deep in her eyes to see her reaction she continued just to smile with her cheek supported in her hand.
"Happy birthday, birthday boy," she teased and with her other hand she patted his bare under arm. Bill gave her hand a fast look and felt his stomach flutter again but also how it continued down to lower areas. He really was fifteen again.
"What are you drinking?" He awkwardly change the subject to think about something else than the blood traveling to his dick.
By reflex, Aurora took her glass and looked down in it.
"Water, I actually don't drink when I'm out like this," she said but Bill could see her vibe changing before his eyes. She looked around at people and twisted the rings around her fingers around and around. He just nodded a little and guessed that it probably wasn't safe for a girl like her to drink out even if she had bodyguards.
"So you know my age Can I know yours now?" He asked sweetly but with some humor in his voice. Aurora laughed and once again fixed her hair.
"You will just judge me for my age!"
"No, no… But like you didn't judge me for my forty years?" She looked him deep in the eyes and Bill looked back with a soft gaze.
"I'm 24 in December."
It was cute she answered like a little girl would but that made it also so much more real. She was more than 16 years younger than him. It wasn't anything extraordinary in Hollywood or neither in his family but he had never thought he would be attracted to someone so much younger than him. But he was attracted to her, he couldn't even remember the last time he was so attracted to someone.
Bill smiled a little and nodded. He didn't want to show his conflicted feelings, especially because they had just met. Aurora started to spin her rings again and looked towards one of her friends on the dance floor. Bill looked at her nervous behavior and wondered if he made her nervous and why in that case she looked nervous in an uncomfortable way.
"I'm sorry… Maybe I disturbed you… But it was nice to meet…"
"Hm?" She looked at him confused. "No?" She swallowed dryly and gave him a hurt look.
"Oh, I just… It looked like…" he said and dragged a hand through his hair, messing it up.
"No? I thought you reacted towards my age?" She said and looked up at him with flattering eyelashes.
"No, not at all. Do you want to sit down a bit?"
It was obvious they weren't really in sync, he was afraid of not showing enough respect and felt a need to be careful with her while she looked a bit nervous and distracted. Bill realized after a while he couldn't be just kind and careful without bordering on being a pussy, he must step up so she could relax. He moved a bit closer to her on the couch and searched for that deep eye contact they have had from the start and laid his hand on her bare thigh. He looked at her to get consent and as answer she laid her hand on his and moved it up her thigh a bit.
"I know that you have probably heard this before but I don't really know how to say this otherwise… I don't want to hurt you, okay? I just think you have this amazing… charisma and I just want to know a bit about you?" He said lowly so only she could hear him. She smiled and moved her hand up over his arm and hugged his upper arm.
"I have learned, or I think I have learned, to recognize a good guy and I can see that you are, Bill. I'm just nervous in this sort of environment, when I talk to a guy. You know, people make it such a big deal."
He nodded. He knew what she meant but also knew he had no clue. He had never been as famous as her and paparazzi had rarely followed him around.
"Can we maybe go somewhere else? So you can feel comfortable. Your body guards can follow, just tell me their names so I can be polite." He joked and moved his hand from her thigh, suddenly it felt stupid to do such a thing in a room full of people. Aurora smiled and took his hand in hers instead, her long nails scratching the back of his hand lightly.
"I can go to the limo then you can sneak in like ten minutes after?"
Bill smirked and played with her hand in his. Even there the difference was big. He had never been with a woman that made him look so big.
"That sounds good."
Aurora nodded and stood up, Bill looked at her smooth legs and the shortness of her white dress. He gave her a little smile before she walked out with two of three bodyguards. Bill saw her disappear down the stairs and his heart started beating hard in his chest again. He didn't really know why he had put himself in this situation. This would never end well and it would just cause unnecessary feelings. He wondered if this was just his cock leading the way. It wasn't like he really starved when it came to sex. He had two women he had sexual arrangements with, one in Sweden and one in L.A. but sure, not one of them looked like Aurora. While he squirmed in his seat one of his friends sat down next to him and looked at him impressed.
"Shit, Bill. What was that?" He asked with big eyes. Bill smiled but then dragged his hands over his face.
"Me being stupid I think." His friend laughed and stood up.
"Come outside with us and tell us everything." Bill looked at his friend, the group outside and then towards the door.
"I can't… I'm going to meet her…" he said lowly in his friend's ear when he had stood up.
×××
"So you have three daughters?"
Aurora sat with her feet up on the limo seat tucked under her bum. She had taken her shoes off and looked really comfortable in the limo. Bill sat with spread legs and was almost as comfortable. They spoke much more relaxed now and started to talk about their private lives.
"Yeah," he smiled and looked down on his feet with both pride but also some sort of embarrassment. He wasn't embarrassed of his girls but he felt awkward talking with her about his life in Sweden.
"How old are they?" Aurora looked at Bill's face closely with a small smile.
"Emm… 12, 7 and 4."
"I would have never believed you had three kids." Bill looked at her with a confused face. It wasn't like he was the irresponsible type.
"I mean, you look so young. Especially for having a twelve year old."
He laughed and leaned his head back.
"You're too kind to me."
She smiled and moved closer to him, so close he suddenly became nervous again.
"Can I kiss you?" She whispered and laid a hand on his chest.
It came on so suddenly Bill couldn't find his words to answer, he just looked at the girl next to him with a surprised expression. She looked more and more nervous again.
"You can say no," she said and moved a bit backwards.
"No, no, no. Or I mean yes. Yes, we can kiss. I just got surprised, that's all," he carefully took her hand in his and gave it a little tug so that she would come closer again. Aurora followed his motion and sat down so close to him her knees brushed his thigh.
"Why?"
Bill was quiet for a moment and looked around after the words on the ceiling of the limo.
"I guess I still can't really understand how I got here, with you. You're so beautiful, young, vibrant…"
"And you are sexy, mysterious and kind," she said and laid a hand on his thigh. Bill looked down at it, smiled a little then he took her face in his hands and let their pouty lips meet. It was a soft kiss but much more intimate than Bill was prepared for. It was not a hookup kiss, this was a kiss that made his skin tingle. They kissed again right after the first kiss and Aurora crawled up closer to him almost in his lap and while they continued to kiss more and more passionately Bill pulled her up on top of him and she straddled his long legs. Time and space disappeared around them and the kisses became more and more heated. They let their tongues drag against each other messily and it made every kiss more and more wet and passionate. Bill was fully hard and was sure she could feel it against her bum that was just over his crotch but he didn't care. He was deep into the make out session that an erection felt totally natural even if he earlier would have thought he must have some sort of distance between them. He made a groaning sound when he felt her grind against him and he started to think about actually having sex in the limo. Who cared really? And it was his birthday, it would be an awesome ending to his fortieth birthday. He dragged his hands up her thighs, up to the hem of her dress and pushed it up a little bit just to try her. She just continued to kiss him and held a vice grip around his collar.
He pushed her dress up a bit more and slowly dragged his hands from her hips to between her legs but then she took a hold of his hands and released his lips with a loud smack. He looked up at her with big eyes, worried he had done something bad.
"Not here," she just said and pulled her short dress down again and sat down in his lap. Bill nodded feverishly and laid his hands on her knees, at a safe place.
"Do you want to come home with me?" She looked at him carefully and played with the hair on his neck.
"Do you want that?"
She gave him a crooked smile and made a sound of amusement.
"Otherwise I wouldn't ask, Billy."
He preferred that new people in his life called him Bill but it wasn't like he would correct her. And also, he kind of liked that she was so relaxed she already called him nicknames.
×××
She lived in a house by the coast south of Rome. Bill had been in many luxury houses but still he got a bit uncomfortable seeing the big house and the land surrounding it. He didn't care that she had more money than him so it wasn't that, he just felt like he didn't really belong in her world. Aurora looked at him while he stood in the hallway with his hands in his back pockets of his blue jeans. She smiled a little and played with her fingers.
"Ehh… Should I take my shoes off?"
He saw that she had done so and looked at her pink ankle socks.
"Oh, do whatever you want," she moved in so she stood leaned against the spiral stair and turned to him. Bill smirked and took off his shoes, she had done it so he thought it was probably what she wanted him to do too. He walked up to her and stood in front of her, smiling down at her. Even if he was so much taller than her she didn't look intimidated by him. He was pleased with that, that he didn't need to crunch down to seem less threatening. He moved her long hair from her shoulders and looked at her lips. She must have coated them with a new layer of lip gloss because they were just as pink and glossy again.
"Maybe I should show you around?" She said and stood up at her toes to be able to touch his shoulders. Bill nodded and took one of her hands from his shoulders and entwined their fingers. It was a nice gesture but Aurora was forced to change the grip because his fingers didn't really fit between hers. It was like they tried to push two puzzle pieces together that obviously were not fitting.
She showed him around, mostly so he could find the right bathroom. The house had three but there was just one that was suitable for guests.
"Here is my bedroom… The other ones are used by my friends so…" she gave him a pointed smile and he understood those rooms were private, just like the bathroom next to her bedroom. He looked at the bedroom, white with details in pastel pink and luxurious materials. It was so girly he felt even more big and clumsy. It looked like a room his daughter's would die for. Aurora looked at him and took his hand again.
"Do you want something to drink? I have some bottles of wine. And whiskey."
"Whiskey?" He looked at her surprised.
She smirked at him and walked down the stairs.
"Just because I'm a girly-girl I can still enjoy a whiskey."
Bill grinned and looked at her hair swaying down her back and her soft looking thighs. He liked that she surprised him, that she wasn't as predictable as he first thought, it made him curious of what more surprising things he could learn about her.
She poured them each a whiskey with an ice cube in each glass. She showed him the bottle and said it was her favorite. He had never heard of it but guessed it wasn't anything he could find in Sweden.
"So this is your summer house?" He asked while walking around in the big living room. It was mostly beige and white, it was nice but a bit impersonal. Aurora sat down on the big couch with her short legs resting on the coffee table.
"Yeah, I live in L.A."
Bill nodded and looked at the big black grand piano.
"I don't really like L.A." he said honestly and smirked. Aurora laughed.
"Me neither. I wish I could live here but my job requires me to live there."
He moved closer to her and lifted her feet so he could sit down on the coffee table with her feet in his lap.
"Why? I mean, you don't work all the time, I guess?" His hands engulfed her feet and the both of them looked down at it with an amused gaze.
"No but the song writers I work with are there, my team is there, my handbag brand has its office there and the studio."
Bill nodded and looked at her. She was a business woman.
"I guess I have it good that way, that my job isn't really stuck in one place."
"Will you always live in Sweden?" She looked down on her feet again, which he kneaded lightly.
"Yeah. I have my girls there. And the rest of my family." Bill listened to his own words and could hear how this would just be one night thing. They were too different from each other.
Aurora smiled a little disappointed but dragged her toe along the inseam of Bill's jeans. Maybe she also realized that it would just be a hook up and rode with it. Bill released her foot and leaned back on his hands while Aurora's foot came closer and closer to his crotch. He bit his lip and looked down but closed his eyes when her foot started to do slow circles over his balls. He could feel himself get hard again and started to beg in his head for more action than her foot on his crotch. When she pulled her foot away he couldn't stop his disappointed facial expression.
"I don't know when the girls will be home… Maybe we should go to the bedroom?" Aurora said and dragged her long nail extensions over his thighs. He looked at her nails, baby blue with white swirls. He didn't really like the trend with those sorts of nails but at that moment it was the hottest thing he had seen.
"Sure, sure. Let's go upstairs."
They went up to the bedroom, the girly bedroom with more pillows on the bed he could count. Everything was so fluffy and sweet he felt a little nauseous. He thought they would continue where they ended so he sat down on the bed leaned back, waiting for her to climb his lap but instead she sat down by the vanity table and started to brush out all the hair spray she had in her hair. Bill looked at her and felt a bit stupid that he had laid down in bed.
"I’m just going to take off my make-up," she said and stood up. Bill smiled a little even if he felt a bit fooled. He was so horny and could feel his cock stir just by looking at her legs when she walked out from the room. With a heavy sigh he laid down his head on the bed and closed his eyes. He laid like that until he felt Aurora sitting down next to him. He looked up at her and saw her face free from makeup and her hair gathered in a long braid. She was just as pretty without makeup, maybe even prettier because she looked so much more relaxed.
"Hey, sorry, are you bored?" She patted his chest and smiled sweetly.
"No, no." He rose up on his elbows and looked at her, just dressed in an oversized t-shirt. He couldn't stop himself from smiling big by the vision. She was way too cute. Aurora giggled again and leaned down and kissed him. Bill, who knew well what he wanted, threaded his fingers through her hair and deepened the kiss over and over. He was so hard now it started to hurt and he really needed the release. Aurora pushed him away and smiled.
"Slow down a bit."
Bill looked between her eyes and lips. He was horny but he also felt stupid for being so rough suddenly.
"I'm sorry…" he breathed heavily and let her go but she just straddled his lap, right over his erection.
"It's okay. But… Do you just want to sleep with me? Is that it?"
He wondered why she straddled him just before asking that question. Right then and there it was the only thing he wanted.
"No of course not… I really want to get to know you…" he said with a strained voice, focusing on not grinding against that little pussy on top of him. Aurora smiled a little and leaned down to kiss him again. They kissed a few times while Bill tried to move closer and closer to her pantyline with his hands.
She looked at him and put her nose tip against his.
"Because I will not sleep with you tonight…"
"Hm?" Bill looked at her with big eyes. The disappointment rising so fast he could feel sweat break out on his forehead.
She gave him a little smile and moved away from him. Bill took some deep breaths and tried to accept that he would probably need to fix his problem by himself in the bathroom.
"Okay…" he said lowly and nodded a little. Aurora smiled and looked pleased with his answer and started to unzip his jeans.
"But I can give you a really messy blow job if you like…" Bill sighed in relief and leaned his head back and laughed.
"Are you trying to kill me here? But yes please, please suck my cock," he said and smiled at her while she dragged his jeans and boxers down his legs. He helped her take them off and then stood up on his knees so she could be in front of him. She looked at him, standing in front of her with a blushing hard on dripping precum. She took his cock in her hands and both of them looked down at it. Even Bill could see how big he looked in her hand and he liked the vision. She giggled a bit but didn't say anything but the both of them thought the same thing. She wanted to kiss him but even on their knees she had a hard time reaching his lips. He bent down, kissed her and licked her lower lip with a teasing tongue.
"You are short." She giggled and jerk him off slowly while kissing him again. Both of them couldn't stop smiling into the kiss. Bill didn't think about it right then but after he would think of the moment and realize he almost felt like he was in love.
She bent down while continuing to jerk him off and gave his tip a kiss. Bill looked down at her, looking closely while she teased him with the top of her tongue. He breathed deeply but his breath hitched when she took him in her mouth and sucked with hollowed cheeks. He groaned while she worked up and down his shaft, just stopping to apply saliva on his sensitive tip and tease the underside with her tongue. He could feel his eyes involuntarily close even if he wanted to watch her passionate blow job. When she started to use her hands to jerk him off at the same time she worked his shaft with her mouth he felt his orgasm build in his stomach.
"I'm close…" he said with a strained voice and gave her cheek a soft pat so she could move away from him. She lifted her head to look at his face while she jerked him off to the finish line.
×××
Bill's eyelids were heavy the next day but the room he slept in was so bright his eyelids felt too thin anyway. He looked around a bit confused at the white room and down at the pink silk sheets. He sat up and rubbed his eyes. He was naked and the air conditioner prickled his skin. He smirked a little when he thought back to the night he had and dragged his hands through his hair both by some sort of embarrassment and also pride and satisfaction. After having thought a minute on Aurora and her mouth he started to search for his phone. He found it in the pocket of his jeans.
10 am. He didn't really know what he would do with that information but it felt calming to know it was still quite early. He took his boxers that were stuck in his jeans and stood up to pull them on. Just when he adjusted his member the door opened and Aurora walked in carefully with two coffee mugs, one pressed between her arm and chest so she could open the door.
"Hey," she said and smiled sweetly. She was still dressed in the oversized t-shirt but had let her hair down from the braid and it hung down to her waist in messy waves.
"Hey." He just mimicked her, it was just reflex to answer the same way. He smiled a bit bashfully and scratched his neck.
"I don't know how you take your coffee but you felt like the sort of guy who drinks it black?" She put the mugs down and Bill looked at the black liquid in one of them while the other was more light brown.
"You're right." He said and sat down on the bed again with a smile. He was as tall as her when he sat on the edge of the bed. "How did you know?"
Aurora smirked and sat down next to him.
"You are way too mysterious to not drink it black."
Bill smiled amused and took the mug with black coffee.
"I don't know why you say I'm mysterious." He shook his head and took a sip of the coffee. Aurora took her mug and also took a sip.
"You have just that aura. Like you have many layers to explore."
He licked his lips and looked between her eyes and lips.
"Maybe so," he said lowly with his most mysterious voice and then gave her a soft kiss. He probably shouldn't have kissed her the morning after instead of just taking his stuff and saying goodbye but even if he knew there could never be anything between them he couldn't stop himself. Aurora dragged her finger along his dimple and smiled and with that smile had Bill a reason to kiss her again. After some intimate kisses, they sat close together and just watched each other. They smiled a bit sadly. Both of them knew this was it.

Bathroom Accessories
wholesale bathroom sets refer to a range of practical and decorative items used to enhance the functionality and ambiance of bathrooms. They include items such as soap dishes, toothbrush holders, towel racks, shower curtains, bath mats, and toilet brush holders, among others. bathroom accessories wholesale can come in various styles, colors, and materials to complement any decor and improve hygiene, organization, and comfort in the bathroom.
What Are Some Common bath accessories wholesale?
1. Soap dispenser: Used to store and dispense liquid soap.
2. Toothbrush holder: Used to store toothbrushes and keep them from touching each other.
3. Towel bar: Used to hang towels and keep them off the floor.
4. Bath mat: Used to prevent slips and falls on wet bathroom floors and to absorb water.
5. Shower curtain: Used to prevent water from splashing outside of the shower area.
6. Toilet brush holder: Used to store a toilet brush and keep it off the bathroom floor.
7. Tissue box cover: Used to cover a box of tissues and provide a decorative touch.
8. Wastebasket: Used to dispose of trash in the bathroom.
9. Mirrors: Used for grooming purposes and to add a decorative touch to the bathroom.
10. Shower caddy: Used to store shampoo, conditioner, and other shower supplies.
Can I Put My Shower Curtain In The Washing Machine?
Many plastic or vinyl shower curtains can be washed in a washing machine, but it's important to check the care label or manufacturer's instructions before washing to make sure that it's safe to do so. Generally, it is recommended to wash shower curtains in cold or warm water with a mild detergent on a delicate cycle. It's also important to remember to remove any metal hooks or rings before washing, to avoid damaging the washing machine or shower curtain.
To prevent soap scum buildup on the shower curtain, you can add a cup of vinegar to the wash cycle. Additionally, if you add a towel to the wash, it can help scrub the curtain clean. After the wash cycle is complete, allow the shower curtain to air dry completely before rehanging it in the bathroom.
If the shower curtain is too delicate to machine wash, it can usually be cleaned by hand using a gentle cleaner and a soft-bristled brush. Either way, maintaining clean and mildew-free shower curtains can help keep the bathroom looking fresh and hygienic.
Do I Need A Bath Mat In My Bathroom?
A bath mat is a great accessory to have in a bathroom. Here are a few reasons why you might need one:
1. Safety: A bath mat can help prevent slips and falls on wet bathroom floors. This is especially important if you have young children or elderly family members living with you, who may be more vulnerable to falls.
2. Comfort: A bath mat can provide a comfortable and soft surface to step onto after a bath or shower, instead of a cold, slippery tile floor.
3. Protection: A bath mat can help protect your bathroom floor from water damage caused by moisture or splashes from the shower or bath.
4. Hygiene: A bath mat can help absorb water and keep your feet and the bathroom floor dry. This can help prevent mildew and mold buildup in the bathroom, which can be unsightly and potentially harmful to your health.
5. Aesthetic appeal: A bath mat can be an attractive addition to your bathroom decor. With a variety of styles, colors, and materials to choose from, you can find a bath mat that complements the look of your bathroom and enhances its overall appeal.
Overall, a bath mat is a practical and useful accessory to have in any bathroom.
How Do I Clean My Bathroom Accessories?
1. Toothbrush holder: For plastic or ceramic toothbrush holders, use soap and warm water to scrub away any toothpaste residue. For a deep clean, you can use a mixture of white vinegar and baking soda to remove any stains.
2. Soap dispenser: Fill the dispenser halfway with warm water and add a drop of dish soap. Pump the dispenser a few times to clean the inside. Rinse it out thoroughly with warm water and refill with soap.
3. Shower curtain and liner: Remove the curtain and liner and put them in the washing machine on a delicate cycle with a mild detergent. For a more thorough clean, add some white vinegar to the wash cycle.
4. Towel rack: Use a damp cloth to wipe down the towel rack and remove any dust or dirt. For metal towel racks, you can use a metal cleaner to restore shine.
5. Toilet brush and holder: After use, rinse the brush with hot water to remove any remaining debris, then place it back in the holder. To clean the holder, remove any excess water and spray it with a disinfectant cleaner. Leave it for a few minutes, then rinse it thoroughly with hot water.
6. Toilet seat and lid: Use a damp cloth and a mild cleaner to wipe down the toilet seat and lid. Rinse the cloth frequently and use a scrub brush to remove any stains.
7. Mirrors: Clean mirrors with a glass cleaner and a microfiber cloth to avoid streaks. For a budget-friendly option, use a mixture of water and vinegar instead.
How Often Should I Replace My Bathroom Accessories?
The frequency of replacing bathroom accessories largely depends on the quality of the products, how well they are taken care of, and how often they are used. However, here are some general guidelines:
1. Towels: Replace every 1-2 years, depending on how often they are used and washed. If they start to feel rough or lose their absorbency, it's time to replace them.
2. Shower curtains and liners: Replace shower liners every 4-6 months, or as soon as mold or mildew begins to form. Replace shower curtains every 1-2 years, depending on wear and tear.
3. Toothbrushes: Replace every 3-4 months, or sooner if the bristles become frayed or the brush becomes discolored.
4. Toilet brushes: Replace every 6 months to a year, depending on usage. If the bristles become flattened or discolored, it's time to replace it.
5. Soap dispenser: Depending on the quality and type of the dispenser, you may need to replace it every few years if it becomes worn or damaged.
6. Towel racks, toilet roll holders, and other hardware: These fixtures can last for many years, but may need to be replaced if they become damaged or outdated.
In general, it's a good idea to periodically assess the condition of your bathroom accessories and replace them as needed to keep your bathroom clean, hygienic and functioning well.

🦷 Improving My Dental Self-Care 🦷
Hello, friends. Mod Lia here. Today I am sharing a self-care experiment with y'all.
I've always had great luck with my teeth—I have a slight overbite for which I declined Invisalign, but otherwise, I've never needed orthodontia. I've never had a cavity. My wisdom teeth extraction went incredibly smoothly. I like my teeth and they have yet to cause me major issues (🤜🪵).
However...
I work at a pediatric dentistry now. Naturally, having been privy to various mouth-related horror stories over the past couple months, I've developed some dental anxiety. It's not entirely unfounded, either; I know my oral hygiene could be much improved, and that's what I'm planning to work on!
This post is going to be VERY long and VERY detailed, so buckle up.
📣 DISCLAIMER:
I bought products from Amazon for this little experiment. In general, I get most of what I buy off the internet, as I can't drive, don't have access to functional public transportation, and live in a forest. I also do not make a livable wage, so I pinch pennies whenever I can, and Amazon tends to be more affordable than other options.
That said, it is absolutely an evil corporation that exploits its employees, harms the environment, strangles small businesses, monopolizes whole industries, and perpetually bloats Jeff Bezos' inordinate wealth. I very much want to achieve a situation where boycotting Amazon is more logistically and financially realistic for me. I do not feel good about supporting such an unethical company, and I want you to know that I'm aware of its issues.
Also: while I need to conserve money (especially since this year I'm finally moving in with my partner [Mod Cass] and our dear friend), I do have the privilege of indulging in some monetary laxity, as I live with my parents and don't have to pay rent. Not everyone has that advantage, and I realize how fortunate I am. Many people would be unable to drop ~$60 like I did.
😁 Things I Do Well:
I brush my teeth every night. I always have. I have severe depression and pretty bad executive dysfunction, but that's something I've managed to do consistently.
If it's not plain tap water, I'm almost certainly drinking it through a straw.
I've seen a dentist every six months for as long as I can remember.
I keep a toothbrush and toothpaste by my bed. When I'm intoxicated or the executives are Dysfunctioning, I can start brushing my teeth in bed. By the time I'm done, I'm almost always able to get up and spit into the sink, but I do have an empty bottle I can spit into if necessary (I've done that once or twice, but I emptied, washed, and disinfected the bottle in the morning). Gross? Whatever. No shame in doing what you have to do to work with your brain.
I chew sugar-free gum almost daily, which stimulates saliva production, which in turn prevents decay.
After buying coconut oil for skincare initially, I was pleasantly surprised to find that oil pulling (swishing oil in your mouth) actually works for me. It's very low-effort and I've been doing it for 15–25 minutes every night. Studies suggest oil pulling may help prevent plaque, gingivitis, and bacterial build-up.
⚠️ Areas of Concern:
I have a mild enamel defect on some of my back teeth.
I occasionally swish 1.5% hydrogen peroxide around my mouth as a teeth whitener. I doubt this is significantly harmful, since my dentist has me do it before cleanings and I checked with my doctor that it wouldn't hurt me. But H2O2 is caustic, so I'm certain it can't be good for my teeth.
I put Mio energy drops in the water bottle I drink from at work. Their second ingredient is citric acid; acidic substances corrode your enamel.
I'm very prone to BFRBs (body-focused repetitive behaviors), presumably related to my likely OCD. For this reason, it's a struggle to put down the toothbrush, and I brush my teeth—hard—for 5–20 minutes at a time. Brushing your teeth too vigorously for too long is rough on your enamel and gums.
I use CBD vape juice as a nightly tincture to help me sleep. The second ingredient is propylene glycol, which apparently breaks down into various acids.
I've tried many times, but I've never been able to consistently brush my teeth twice a day. Or floss. Thanks, brain xoxo
Since I don't brush my teeth in the morning, I eat a lot of mints so I don't inflict morning breath on people 😫 Sucking on hard mints exposes your teeth to sugar for prolonged periods (and you can damage your enamel if you bite them).
❗ DISORDERED EATING TW - I am relapsed. I eat little in the mornings and do not eat at work. This is very very dangerous and once caused a medical crisis in front of my coworkers, so I keep hard candy in my purse for harm reduction purposes. It's a great source of fast-acting glucose when I get hypoglycemic, but it carries the same issues I mentioned with hard mints. HOWEVER, preventing another crisis is my top priority, so I am NOT getting rid of the hard candy. ❗
🎯 Goals:
Stop whitening my teeth with hydrogen peroxide.
Start brushing my teeth more gently and for less than 5 minutes at a time.
Brush my teeth in the morning.
Floss more nights than not.
Remineralize my teeth using enamel-strengthening products.
Use some protective measure (e.g. mouthwash, gum, oil pulling) after eating mints or candy, taking my CBD tincture, or drinking my flavored (albeit sugar-free) water.
🪥 Products:
Soft toothbrushes ($4.39) - Not only do I need to be more gentle on my teeth, but I've always found brushing my teeth more pleasant with soft-bristled brushes. I don't know why I haven't been buying them; I guess in my head they're a "kid" thing 🙄
Floss picks ($3.69) - I was significantly better about flossing my teeth when I used floss picks as a child. They're not as effective as regular floss, but I think they're easier and more pleasant to use—good for executive dysfunction. Again, I've been avoiding them because I've thought of them as a "kid" thing, which is silly.
Xylitol gum ($10.22) - The sugar-free gum I currently chew is sweetened with xylitol, a sugar substitute that research suggests could aid in cavity prevention. However, Mentos Pure Fresh gum in particular is one of only eight chewing gums approved by the American Dental Association. And it's good.
Alcohol-free fluoride mouthwash ($4.82) - Alcohol is acidic, carcinogenic, drying, and an irritant, so it's no good in mouthwash. Conversely, appropriate doses of fluoride support enamel health. Not sure about this violet mint flavor, though...
Fluoride toothpaste ($11.49) - Due to my distrust of hydrogen peroxide, I did some research and found a study that failed to identify any concerns with H2O2 toothpastes, so that's how I will replace my whitening** rinse (though I did opt for the Colgate variant with less H2O2). It will be far milder than actual H2O2, and more importantly, it contains fluoride.
**Note: No one needs to whiten their teeth. Enamel is slightly translucent and the underlying dentin is yellow, so yellow-y teeth are perfectly natural, and sometimes healthier than intentionally whitened teeth. A smile is beautiful regardless of its color, and I do believe this! I see sooooo many adorable, charming, lovable kids at work who don't have "perfect" straight white teeth. Unfortunately, I am not immune to arbitrary societal pressure, and I know that for now I'll still want to use a teeth whitener. At the very least, I'd rather use one I'm sure is safe.
Nano-hydroxyapatite (n-HA) toothpaste ($11.95) - n-HA is the synthetic form of a naturally occurring mineral compound that comprises most of our enamel. Research shows that n-HA's enamel benefits are equivalent to fluoride's (actually, n-HA produces slightly more uniform remineralization), but their mechanisms of action are different, so I want to try both. n-HA is more expensive, though!
Fluoride-free toothpaste ($8.72) - If I'm going to brush my teeth more often, I need a toothpaste I can default to if at times I feel like the other ones are too expensive or don't taste as good. I heard that this one has a nice subtle flavor, and it comes in spearmint, which I prefer to peppermint. Also, like most ED folk, I have stomach issues sometimes. When my stomach is sensitive, I don't want to risk exposure to fluoride, since it can hurt your stomach if swallowed (though n-HA is safe to ingest).
Total cost: $55.28 ($57.77 with tax) - That's a lot of money, and way more than I ever wanted to spend on dental care products. However, all this stuff is gonna last me a while, and it's worth the price if it means my oral health might improve.
📑 Plan:
I will brush my teeth with fluoride toothpaste in the morning. At night I'll oil-pull before using my n-HA toothpaste, a floss stick, and fluoride mouthwash.
I will use my non-fluoride toothpaste if I ever, for whatever reason, don't feel like using the other two. If the other two end up tasting bad, then I'll just alternate them for my night brushing and use the non-fluoride one in the morning, when I'm more likely to be put off from brushing.
I will set a 5-minute timer on my phone when I brush my teeth. Once it goes off, I have to stop. Ideally, I'll work my way down to the recommended 2–3 minutes.
If I don't feel like brushing, I give myself full permission to brush in bed or just quickly swipe my toothbrush over my teeth. If that's still too much, I can use mouthwash or gum instead.
I will bring a bottle of plain tap water to work to sip from (and thereby rinse my mouth) after taking a drink of my flavored water.
I will chew Mentos Pure Fresh gum after eating a mint or hard candy.
I will use mouthwash or a brief oil pull after taking my CBD tincture at night. (I could also brush my teeth, but I do worry about rubbing any acidic byproducts into my enamel.)
I will offer myself understanding, compassion, forgiveness, encouragement, and validation no matter how my self-care experiment goes. I am trying to get better, and I am not a failure if it turns out to be harder than I anticipated.
I will update this post by reblogging it with my progress!

I have a few suggestions on the divide here!
Ways to Collect Spares
Multiple notes have addressed that there is a country divide here with regards to toothbrushes being handed out at the dentist, so I won't go into that. Some hotels will also provide toothbrushes, so if you travel a lot in that type of place, that could also contribute to a stash of spares. If you tend to shop in bulk (and you or someone in your household uses manual toothbrushes), you also might usually have extra by default.
Rural/Urban Divide
I think your tendency to keep spare toothbrushes might be affected by how urban an area you live in. People who live in more rural or suburban areas are often more likely to have daytime/evening guests become overnight guests unexpectedly, simply because it takes more time and there are less transportation options (especially late at night) for their guests to get home. So if your guest stays later than they planned, they become intoxicated and can't drive, there is some bad weather, or there is some other barrier to their journey home, it isn't always worth it to try to find a way when it might take half the night anyway.
Plus, in less populated areas that just don't have as many things to do, you are more likely to spend time with friends at your home to begin with, rather than somewhere out and about as you might in a more busy area.
In addition, if you needed to buy a cheap toothbrush at a store, you have fewer options for stores and most stores that are around are probably not open that late. So it's genuinely less hassle to have a couple spares in your home.
Children
If you have kids, I think you are much more likely to keep spare toothbrushes, because if your kid's friend has an impromptu sleepover at your place, you definitely don't want to neglect a child's dental hygiene.
Even if you don't have children living in the home, if you are a grandparent, aunt/uncle, other relative, or involved family friend (often also referred to as an aunt/uncle) etc., and you live near the kids, you might keep toothbrushes and other necessities in case the kids stop by.
People with young adult children, and adults with siblings who are still children or young adults, might also try to be prepared for impromptu visits.
Social Circle and Socioeconomic Factors
Also, it depends on your social circle, and I do think there is a socioeconomic element to it, although not necessarily an easily definable relation. Because if you tend to have family or friends who do not have stable living situations (whether that's general housing insecurity or a permanent living situation that isn't entirely safe), you might be more likely to expect that loved ones will crash at your place in an emergency.
Conclusion: Yes, I think keeping spare toothbrushes is common, but there are a few factors that might affect the likelihood.
Honestly, this was very interesting to think about, so thank you for giving me the chance to ponder this.
Also, OP, if you are that curious, you can try a poll. It wouldn't necessarily be an unbiased sample, but it might be interesting nonetheless.
What is it about fics then, where characters always, ALWAYS, have a spare toothbrush conveniently just hanging about in bathroom cupboards for that time someone is, usually unexpectedly, staying the night?
I have lived a few decades now, and I have never known anyone who keeps spare toothbrushes. Is it really common??

The Best Microwave Cleaning Hacks
New Post has been published on https://thekitchnpro.com/the-best-microwave-cleaning-hacks/
The Best Microwave Cleaning Hacks
Microwaves are fairly useful appliances, we use them every day for many tasks like heating up food, but they can also be a major annoyance. Firstly, they tend to get dirty very easily. The surface of a microwave becomes coated in grease, oil, and so on after a while, and it is these contaminants that are the most likely to cause problems.
Microwaves are great until they break. They are one of our favorite appliances because they cook everything fast and efficiently, but they can also become dirty. If you’re like me, you don’t want to scrub the thing with a toothbrush every time you use it. Here are some tips and ideas that you can use in order to keep your microwave clean and in good condition.
Tips and Ideas to Clean Microwave Effectively
Microwaves are used a lot in our daily lives, and they are actually more energy-efficient than many other household appliances. Surprisingly, a lot of us still don’t know how to clean a microwave properly. Here are some ways you can get your microwave ready for a fresh spin.
Use air freshener. Run some air freshener inside the microwave and let it dry for a few minutes.
Clean the microwave door. The door is the main culprit when it comes to messy microwave cleanups. The easiest way to clean the microwave door is to use a damp cotton cloth, which will help you wipe away all the dirt and dust.
Clean the microwave vent. The microwave vent is another key area that needs attention to keep it clean and working.
Cleaning Your Microwave
If you want your microwave to last for years, you should care about cleaning it every time you use it. It’s not hard to do your own cleaning, but you might struggle if you don’t know what you’re looking for.
Most of us have had the experience of cleaning our microwave only to have it spark up again during the next use. It’s annoying, and those little grill marks you’ve been trying to get rid of since the day you bought it are now burnt into your microwave’s upper surface. Make sure that you do the cleaning properly so that you will not get into this annoying and difficult situation of having a microwave malfunction.
Cooking is obviously an important part of everyday life, but one of the most important is to clean up after yourself. It is not always easy to remember to do this, especially when you have just finished a meal. This is why you should be sure to look into the different ways to clean your microwave and other kitchen appliances. You will be surprised to see how many there are.
Bottomline
Cleaning your microwave is a chore that many of us just perform without thinking. Most of the time, it gets dirty just from cooking and reheating food in it. However, with a few easy tips and tricks, cleaning your microwave can be as easy as a weekly wipe down.

Sulfur is a common component found in many household appliances, but did you know that it also has a special purpose for vampires? It may seem like an unlikely pairing, but sulfur is actually an essential ingredient for keeping these creatures of the night happy and healthy.
One of the main reasons why sulfur is important for vampires is its ability to control odors. Vampires have highly sensitive senses, especially when it comes to smell. The smell of garlic, for example, is notorious for repelling vampires because of its strong odor. Sulfur, on the other hand, has a pungent smell that masks other scents and can help vampires to blend into their human surroundings without being detected.
Furthermore, sulfur has antibacterial properties that are beneficial for both vampires and their appliances. As vampires do not have circulating blood in their bodies, their saliva is their main source of moisture. This can lead to bacteria buildup in their mouths, causing bad breath and other health issues. By using sulfur-based toothpaste and mouthwash, vampires can maintain good oral hygiene and keep their mouths free from bacteria. As a result, their appliances, such as toothbrushes and dentures, are also less prone to bacterial growth and can last longer.
Sulfur also plays a role in preserving the longevity of vampire appliances. Vampires have a unique physiology that allows them to regrow lost body parts. However, this ability does not apply to inanimate objects such as appliances. Therefore, vampires need to take extra care of their appliances to avoid regularly replacing them. Sulfur, with its ability to repel pests and inhibit corrosion, can help preserve their appliances and save them some costs in the long run.
In addition, sulfur is also a key ingredient in creating artificial blood for vampires. As vampires cannot consume regular food, they rely on substitutes or artificial blood to survive. These blood packets are made to mimic the taste and nutrient content of real human blood, and sulfur is added to give it a metallic and blood-like taste. Without sulfur, the artificial blood may not be as appealing to vampires, making it difficult for them to maintain a healthy diet.
In conclusion, while sulfur may seem like an unlikely choice for vampire appliances, it serves a crucial role in their daily lives. From controlling odors to preserving appliances and even contributing to their diet, sulfur is essential for the well-being of these supernatural beings. So the next time you see sulfur in your household appliances, remember that it is not only for human use but also for keeping vampires happy and healthy.

All these things are well and good but this list is also completely unrealistic for most people, ESPECIALLY if you are disabled.
Cleaning, maintaining your space, is an important of a healthy living environment, but what exactly a Cleaning Schedule looks like will be different depending on your unique living situation.
This will range a lot depending on the place you live, if you have any pets, how many people live with you, etc, there's a lot to factor in
Take these with a grain of salt, make your own list for whatever works best for you!! 💛
Daily Cleaning
1) Personal Hygiene
FIRST, strive to consistently get your basics done first! Personal Hygiene is key, make sure you are taking care of your body first. Not only that, but make sure you are feeding your body and drinking water! Take meds, use mobility aids, whatever you need to help you! Your hygienic routine will also affect what daily cleaning you do!
2) Put Items back where they belong after using it
I cannot stress enough how much this will help, even if it is only a little bit. Letting clutter pile up makes it harder in the long run. Establish designated places where things go and try and return them there when you are done!
This will help you tremendously in the future and is a great habit to establish early on. It helps minimize clutter early before it gets bad!
(Dirty Laundry after you change goes in the hamper, ingredients if you're cooking go back when done, TV remote where it belongs, etc.)
3) Spot Cleaning
Spot cleaning is cleaning certain areas that need the most attention sooner, rather than completely cleaning the whole area or areas.
if you spill something, if there's any sticky residue, oil, anything that is difficult to clean up later, either start the process or clean it up fully ASAP!
You can start something and pick it back up another time, leave yourself reminders or notes if there's something that needs attention but isn't as urgent.
* If you have pets, or cook a lot, sweeping or vacuuming daily is something worth considering! only in main areas, where a lot of crumbs or dirt accumulate. Try and sweep/vacuum to keep the dirt to a minimim!
Weekly Cleaning
again, this depends on your environment!
1) Bathrooms
clean the toilet bowl, toilet seat, and sink counters! Just a disinfectany wipe does the job for the most part, and a toilet scrub brush and toilet bowl cleaner!
I also try and take the time to sweep the tile as well, this depends on how dirty it is
2) Trash
Make sure to have designated areas for trash / recycling, having a certain day of the week to gather up and take out trash can be helpful! I usually go room by room and put all the small trash bags into a bigger trash bag, and take the whole thing out. Make sure to check fresh fruit/Veggies, just in case...
3) In-Depth wipe of surfaces
Does not all have to be on the same day, but making sure the kitchen counters are wiped, dining room table, any desks, or other surface areas regularly used. If you are SPOT CLEANING then it makes this much less of a hassle!
Monthly Cleaning
1) Personal Hygiene items
Make sure you wash your bedsheets, linens, towels, rags, etc, at least once a month! Please check your washcloth/loofa, toothbrush, you shouldn't be using items like these for months on end. I don't know the exact number, it's not exactly every month, but replace them ever few months.
* Please launder your bathroom mats, dishwasher mats, etc
**PLEASE launder your shower curtains
2) In depth Sweep/Mop
Before you sweep/mop, always wipe down surfaces to get all crumbs on the floor, then sweep everything, then mop everything. WHEN MOPPING always leave at least 1 bathroom available for use while the floor dries elsewhere.
*A little bit of soap and water goes a long way! Be careful not to overdo it, especially be careful of Real hardwood and water damage
3) Inside Machinery
Please clean the inside of your dishwashers and washing machines, be on the lookout for mildew or mold build up with these things!!
4) SHOWERS
please in depth clean your showers/bathtubs. Barkeeper's Friend is a product I love 💛 Also the shower liner, if it's plastic, mold/mildew is very important to prevent!!
Seasonal Cleaning
1) Dusting
Dust yout Air Vents, and Ceiling Fan Blades, monthly is good but if it doesn't build up that much, every 3 months or so!
2) Kitchen
Fridge shelves, every 3 months or so with spot cleaning factored in.
Points on the list above are pretty solid I just think how they're prioritized is difficult, sorry not everything is on here 😔
Dish soap and Hot Water are amazing for grease, oil, sticky residue, most anything really
Distilled White Vinegar is acidic and great for stain removal!
Baking soda and white vinegar are best friends btw 💛
I'm 50 and still need tips and reminders on Adulting.

Cherry Willow Apparel Custom Donations
We are looking to collect certain items to distribute to homeless people in addition to what the shelters are able to provide. Our goal is to be able to facilitate a donation with every purchase made so we can help to redistribute the excess that is already out there and not add to the waste that is so often generated by corporations in this country.
The number 1 need of most homeless people is clean clothes. When living on the street it can be difficult to keep up with hygiene with the lack of access to showers and laundry facilities. Any items donated will be distributed through local shelters and other outreach programs. Any blank apparel items that we are able to print on will be printed with the Cherry Willow Apparel logo and given to shelters so that homeless people may wear it and know that there is a brand working on their behalf and to help them in whatever way we can.
In particular with clean clothes, socks and underwear are of huge importance. Used socks and underwear cannot be accepted, for obvious reasons, but we are working to find a partnership with a manufacturer to have a pair of socks and underwear be donated with every sticker purchase to local shelters to ensure they always have a supply to give out to those in need.
Winter clothing, especially in areas like Chicago and other midwest cities with large homeless populations are of huge importance. Anything from thermal underwear, to sweatshirts and jackets, to gloves, hats and boots are very much needed in order to survive the harsh winter. Please don’t only think of donating these items in the winter. When you are doing your spring cleaning consider donating these types of items to us or to your local homeless shelter. It goes a long way towards helping preparations for the winter when we are able to collect these items all year round.
The second largest need is personal care products including sunscreen, hand/body lotion, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, menstrual care products and hand sanitizer. Living outside and exposed to the elements can have a tremendous impact on our skin. These items help the people who are homeless take care of themselves and protect their skin from the constant exposure to the elements. They also help ensure that they are doing everything they can to prevent infection or illness from exposure to germs and bacteria.
Third would be supplies that will help people who do not do well in the shelter environment. Many people that are dealing with homelessness are also facing mental health issues including anxiety. The shelter setting is often very crowded and loud, with lack of privacy or space for yourself. Many people, especially those with anxiety or other social behavioral issues choose to camp instead of living in a shelter. To help support these people everything from backpacks, to sleeping bags, tarps & tents are a huge help. In order for someone to make progress on their mental health they have to be in an environment that they feel safe in. Ensuring we help provide the people that need space with the goods that enable them to create a safe space for themselves will go a long way towards helping them work on their mental health issues.
Please share this with anyone who is looking to help the homeless as many of the donations to Goodwill, Salvation Army and other similar companies end up in their retail stores rather than directly going to someone in need. We are also looking for local businesses that are willing to be donation centers for those who would like to donate until such a time when we are able to set up a warehouse. Please if you are a local business owner or know someone who is and would like to help support homeless people while also generating some additional foot traffic for your business to get in contact with us and to read the donation center sign up document which is listed on the site under “Donation Center Sign Up” page under the Resources section of the website.

Feast of the Dedication of the Lateran Basilica in Rome
Reflection: Rechannel Your Anger
We have a different Jesus in the Gospel today—one we rarely read about. Jesus was angry: “Get these out of here! Stop turning my Father’s house into a market!” Not only was He angry, He was downright violent: “So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables.”
A husband once said to his demure wife, “When I get mad at you, I get uncontrollable. But you never fight back. How do you control your anger?” The wife calmly said, “I rechannel my anger. Whenever you hurt me, I clean the toilet bowl.” “And how does that help?” inquired the husband. “It helps all the time,” the wife responded. “Whenever I clean the toilet bowl, I use your toothbrush.”
A Christian can feel anger. Anger is not necessarily bad. It is a natural emotional response to a situation. How you act on it determines whether it will be good or bad. Jesus also experienced it, but there was a purposive quality in His anger. Thomas Aquinas defines His anger as “the passion to set things right.”
When motivated and put at the service of love, anger can be a creative force. Look at the famous “angry” men of history. Martin Luther King, Jr. was angry at racism, but he did not want to eliminate the whites. His dream was a world where the white and the black live in harmony. Gandhi was angry at violence and colonial domination, but he did not wish the extinction of the white British colonizers. St. John Paul II was angry at communism, but he repeatedly addressed the communists as brothers.
In the latest iteration of the Superman series Man of Steel, the young Clark Kent was shown many times as being tempted to use his superpowers against bullies. At each time, his father, Jonathan Kent, persuaded him not to. The young Clark was taught to put his anger at the service of a higher purpose and not only to massage his bruised ego.
Yes, your anger can be rechanneled, not by using someone else’s toothbrush when you clean the toilet bowl, but by placing it at the service of love. We pray for that creative kind of anger—the passion to set things right.
~Fr. Joel O. Jason
What is the quality of your anger? What motivates it? What is its goal?
Jesus, purify my anger and transform it. Direct it to the service of good. Amen.
Prayer
… for a deep and profound respect for life, especially for the unborn.
… for the strength and healing of the sick.
… for the healing and peace of all families.
Finally, we pray for one another, for those who have asked our prayers and for those who need our prayers the most.
GOD BLESS!

How to Clean Earrings at Home
What are earrings and why do they need to be cleaned?
Earrings are ornamental jewelry worn on the earlobe. They have been around for centuries and are worn by people of all ages and genders. Earrings can be made from various materials, including precious metals, gemstones, and plastic.
There are many different types of earrings, including studs, hoops, dangles, and drops. Earrings can be simple or elaborate, and they can be worn to dress up or down an outfit. Sterling 925 Silver Basic Methods For Taking Care
Why do earrings need to be cleaned?
Earrings need to be cleaned regularly to maintain their beauty and to prevent the buildup of dirt, debris, and bacteria. Earrings can become dirty from a variety of sources, including:
Body oils and sweat: When you wear earrings, your body oils and sweat can accumulate on them. This can make your earrings look dull and can also cause them to tarnish.
Makeup and hair products: Makeup and hair products can also get on your earrings and make them dirty. This can be especially problematic if you wear earrings that are made from porous materials, such as wood or bone.
Airborne pollution: Airborne pollution can also settle on your earrings and make them dirty. This is especially true if you live in a city or an area with high levels of air pollution.
Cleaning Methods
General cleaning method:
Gather your supplies:
A bowl of warm water
Mild soap (dish soap, hand soap, or baby shampoo)
A soft toothbrush
A microfiber cloth
Instructions:
Soak your earrings in a bowl of warm water and soap for a few minutes.
Use the soft toothbrush to gently scrub the earrings, paying special attention to any areas with dirt or grime.
Rinse the earrings thoroughly under running water.
Dry the earrings with a microfiber cloth.
Specific cleaning methods for different types of earrings:
Gold earrings:
To clean gold earrings, you can use the general cleaning method above. However, you can also use a jewelry polishing cloth to buff the earrings and restore their shine.
Silver earrings:
To clean silver earrings, you can use the general cleaning method above. However, you can also soak the earrings in a solution of one part white vinegar to two parts water for 30 minutes before scrubbing them. This will help to remove any tarnish from the silver.
Diamond earrings:
To clean diamond earrings, you can use the general cleaning method above. However, you can also soak the earrings in a solution of one part ammonia to three parts water for 30 minutes before scrubbing them. This will help to remove any dirt or grime from the diamonds.
Pearl earrings:
To clean pearl earrings, you can use a damp microfiber cloth to gently wipe them down. Avoid using any harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as this can damage the pearls.
How often should you clean your earrings?
Earring cleaning is an essential part of maintaining your jewelry and keeping your ears healthy. Earrings can accumulate dirt, debris, oils, sweat, and other contaminants over time, which can make them dull, tarnished, and even unsanitary. Regular cleaning will help to remove these contaminants and keep your earrings looking and feeling their best.
The frequency with which you should clean your earrings depends on some factors, including the type of metal they are made from, how often you wear them, and your lifestyle. For example, if you wear your earrings every day, you will need to clean them more often than if you only wear them occasionally. Additionally, if you live in a humid climate or sweat a lot, your earrings will need to be cleaned more frequently.
