It always seems insane to me that when Titanic (1997) came out, people said Kate Winslet was “too fat” in the film, “Jack couldn’t fit on the debris because of how fat she was”, etc., because I can distinctly remember being a child watching the film several times when my mum bought the DVD, and that whenever I saw the scene where Rose gets out of the car at Southampton and the camera shows her looking up from underneath her hat, I would ALWAYS without fail think “oh my god that is the most beautiful lady in the world”… like nine year old me genuinely thought Kate Winslet was the single most beautiful woman on the planet, you could have told me that she was a goddess and I’d have fully believed you.

I stand by that opinion by the way, anyone who thinks she wasn’t beautiful can fuck off

upsetting myself making the cuddly topmew gifset because that last bit when they reconciled in episode 11, mew looks so relieved and grateful, ready to heal and release all his anger and pain. that scene is such a beautiful display of forgiveness and CHOOSING to love someone; you not only feel how much mew loves top but how much he wants to love him too, and how much of a relief it is to let himself.

love is often portrayed as something you have no control over, something that you can't choose, and while there's space for that, topmew's love story is about love as a choice. (you know, besides when mew went totally feral over not being able to get over top.)

i choose to be with you. i choose to forgive you. i choose to love you.

i choose to keep you.

it wasn't an accident. it wasn't fate. they found each other and they chose each other, and they continue to choose each other. sometimes that means hard work and difficult conversations and compromise. sometimes it's dancing and cuddling and teasing. but it's always a choice. i love you on purpose. and i think that's one of the most romantic things two people can do for each other.
