I’ve seen some genuinely detailed theories that I respect, but 99% of those theories are based on blatantly incorrect info. The first campaign mission in MWII is literally Ghost working with Shepherd and Graves?? Does this mean Ghost is a traitor, too???

Like. Of course Soap worked with them?? Shepherd was literally the commander of the 141, even Price had to answer to him, and Shadow Company was an allied faction! Notice how after the betrayal in Las Almas, Soap was hurt and wanted revenge against both of them – doesn’t seem very traitor-y to me??

I get wanting a big twist. I get wanting drama. But, like, dude. Betraying the 141 completely goes against Soap’s character, and not in a good way. Soap suddenly being evil wouldn’t be a good twist, it’d be a fucking nuke to his character, for both the reboot and the original. Another fear I do have is the response if I do post again, and it’s completely different than what those 2.4k subs are expecting to see. I’ve already warned about it literally a year in advance, and then again very recently in multiple places. I don’t have immediate plans to make more animatics, they’re kind of long term thing to consider. Back when I used to make them I had NOTHING but free time and my biggest concern was feeding myself cuz my home environment was horrid and I had zero means of leaving since I lived in bum fuck nowhere! Since my last yt upload I moved out, was in a car wreck (not even 2 days in), my own car went through thousands of dollars in repairs, i got a job, went through a period where I worked nearly 100hrs for several months consecutively with hardly any breaks, and to think! It wasn’t and it’s still not sustainable. Things changed. And I do not want to go “home.” After being forced to visit family again a month ago I especially don’t want to go back.

The channel was literally a dumping ground. I got those 2k subs when I wasn’t posting for a year. So! You can imagine I might not be prioritizing a channel I only used as a dumping ground or in a state to make fully or even barely boarded videos and shitposts weekly or monthly. Idk what these people want from me schedule wise. I make $0 from it, and monetizing for a few cents isn’t worth it. I didn’t even get paid when I made thumbnails and assets for bigger channels lmfao. Yeah, I did do that. Wouldn’t know tho. Paid in “exposure” hurr hurr or “omg i need that money myself XDD cmon” whatever backwards excuse.

So what’s next in line but a bunch of strangers with fickle attention being passive aggressive and demanding I make more stuff when I say multiple times that I don’t intend to, and if I do (big if) it WON’T be what they came here for. They aren’t paying me. It’s not like I have a gajillion other things to be concerned about.

Those few condescending comments make me just wanna outright cancel what iz stuff was left on the backburner. It was more like an indefinite hiatus until I can stomach finishing them. When it came to signature moves, Jay had a few that he always relied on. Some of them you were sure he didn’t even realize he was doing, like the little half smirk and the eyebrow raise. But others, you knew he did on purpose. Especially what you had decided months earlier was your absolute favorite.

It didn’t matter what you were doing in the kitchen, whether you were making food, washing dishes, getting a cup of coffee; Jay would come up behind you, turn you around, and lift you onto the counter. You weren’t sure if it was some macho masculinity thing or some ‘look how strong I am’ flex that he needed to prove to you that he could physically lift you off your feet. You knew you were neither petite nor thin and you definitely didn’t pull off that whole ‘wearing his shirt like a dress’ thing Gabby or Erin probably had but you were far from insecure about your relationship or yourself. You were a firefighter after all, you ran into burning buildings and hauled people out of them, you didn’t need a boyfriend who treated you like a delicate flower. And Jay never did but you knew he liked showing off (and liked taking you on the counter).

You’d dated guys in the past who always wanted to prove they were somehow tougher than you. Whether it was undermining your job, being condescending, or being oddly competitive with you, you were used to shitty boyfriends thinking it somehow threatened their masculinity to date someone who could probably kick their ass. Jay showing off wasn’t about showing you up though, it was simply about impressing you which is what made it so endearing in the first place. Like a funny quirk, it was a habit he didn’t seem willing to break.

You loved it honestly, even when you knew it was coming. The feeling of Jay leaving you slightly breathless as he lifted you onto the kitchen counter, caged you against the cabinet, and littered your thighs with kisses, gently pushing your legs apart…it was a good way to start your morning, especially when you were on shift and wouldn’t see him again until the next day.

“What are you watching?” It was Sylvie, or rather her new obsession with watching couples on TikTok, that sparked the idea.

“This woman did this video,” she passed the phone to you, “it was so cute and wholesome.”

You watched the woman in question lift her boyfriend onto their kitchen island and you almost laughed out loud, the image of you doing the same thing to Jay immediately coming to mind. Despite it feeling like your own personal inside joke you were surprised when the idea didn’t go away, instead nagging at you for the duration of shift until you finally decided to do something about it.

By the time you got home it was nearing 8am. Coffee was already brewing in the kitchen and you could hear the shower running from the en-suite bathroom. Jay was up, getting ready for work and reminding you why you hated off days more than shift days.

It didn’t take long for the shower to shut off, the quiet padding of Jay’s feet in the bedroom filling the silent apartment. You were sure he knew you were home, whether it was years of detective work or just a sixth sense he had, you very rarely managed to sneak up on him.

“Hey, you eat yet?” Jay asked, catching your attention as he walked into the kitchen in his boxers, grabbing his toothbrush off the counter. He wasn’t shy about the appreciative once over he did of you while he brushed his teeth, waiting for your answer. Your schedules didn’t always sync up the way Jay would’ve liked but he tried to be intentional about the time you did have. If he could get an extra hour of time with you before work he’d gladly take it.

“Not yet. But I’m not making you breakfast.”

“I wasn’t gonna ask you to make breakfast!” He insisted, toothbrush bobbing in his mouth as he spoke, “that was one time and I was incredibly hungover, to be fair.” Jay spit out his toothpaste, wiped his mouth and leaned against the kitchen counter, your mind immediately wandering to the video Sylvie had shown you. “I was gonna ask if you wanted to grab something before I head in.”

“Okay,” you agreed, closing the distance between you to kiss him. The sharp mint taste still on his lips made you scrunch your nose.

Without giving him any warning, you bent your knees just enough to wrap your arms around Jay’s waist and lift up, lifting your very solid boyfriend onto the kitchen counter the same way he’d done to you a hundred times.

“Holy shit!” Jay practically shouted as he grabbed at the butcher block counter. You couldn’t help laughing too, leaning forward into him, pressing your face into his thigh as you tried to catch your breath. You hadn’t honestly expected to be able to lift him that high and you were genuinely as surprised as him that you had hauled him onto the counter successfully.

A second later Jay was grabbing at your arms, pulling you away so he could see your face, hands moving to cup your cheeks, “what are you doing?” He asked, still amused.

“I was trying to be sexy,” you laughed, “you always do it.”

“Yeah…” he nodded, looking at you with that raised eyebrow like he was trying to figure something out, “I kinda liked it.”

“You’re so full of shit.”

“No, I’m serious, that was…hot.” He admitted, a light blush obscuring his freckles. He leaned forward enough that he could kiss you, tilting your head back as you leaned against the counter between his legs. You were convinced that Jay had a natural gravity about him, something that always drew you in, urging you to be as close as possible to him. If you were out somewhere together you always wanted to have a hand in his or his arm around your shoulder, when you kissed him, even at this height difference, with the counter more in your way than anything, you tried to be as close as possible, hands on his bare thighs, his knees caging you in, kissing him with your whole body leaning into his touch.

When you finally pulled away Jay hopped off the counter, backing you up to the island only to kiss you again. He kept his hands on your waist, squeezing just above the hand of your yoga shorts. “I thought we were getting something to eat,” you mentioned once he broke the kiss.

“I was distracted by you manhandling me first thing in the morning,” he teased, “just came out here to get some coffee-“

“I did not manhandle you,” you laughed, “get dressed, nobody needs to see all that this early in the morning.”

“Look who’s talking.” Jay’s hands left your waist, running over the spandex of your shorts to your ass.

the rumours that went around about the doctor were really far from lies— il dottore truly is ruthless. he does not care for anyone’s lives and will dispose of anyone who steps in the way of his pursuits, even if he were to end up putting a carbon copy of himself onto the surgical table to be used as his next test subject.

I'm super clueless about radical feminism (meh about liberal feminism too, I just live my life tbh) but the recent events has led me to wanting to read the Handmaid's Tale. You see, in the school I attend, a lot of people have been talking about it (because abortion debates - the male teachers are hot on it) which led me to want to check it out. I have anxiety, so the plan was to go to the library with my best friend and get a copy of the book.

However, she discouraged me from getting the book, which led to a heated argument because once I'm interested in something, I NEED to know about it. Essentially, she told me a lot about TERFs and how they promoted an 'unhealthy feminism' that targets cis/trans woman and hurts good men — but it was spoken in such a condescending, 'wow, you really know nothing, do you?' tone that it left a bitter taste in my mouth, you know, trauma and all.

For now, I've blocked her and decided I was going to go at it alone, so do you know any reliable websites for an e-book? I had a bad experience with sketchy websites before, so I'm being cautious here. I want to be able to participate in the debates but I need to read up first.

I mean, radical feminists hate all men. I honestly don’t believe that there are any truly good men out there and if they are then they’re few and far between. If they’re not rapists, they don’t see anything wrong with rapists and victim blame. If they’re not abusers, then they’re using weaponised incompetence. If they’re not raging misogynists, then they’re refusing to recognise that they are privileged because they’re men and that this has affected multiple aspects of their lives. We’re not quiet about the fact that we hate all men. All of them. Even the ‘good’ ones, especially as they’re often just putting on a show and they’re actually misogynistic. Like, I remember there being one dude on TikTok who was good at recognising misogyny and did a lot for Native American people and then it came out that he was dating and sleeping with multiple women while they were lead to believe that they were in an exclusive relationship. There was another who put up basic feminist arguments which people thought were amazing and then it came out that he was lovebombing underage/just legal women (despite having multiple posts about how creepy and paedophilic it was when men did that) and that he was stealing posts almost word for word from feminists on Twitter and Insta and not giving them any credit (which was basically the reason I blocked him in the first place -every take he had was something I’d already seen somewhere on Radblr but everyone acted like it was groundbreaking somehow). And these are the ones who are supposed to be feminist allies! And people expect me to trust the average man?

Anyway, I don’t know any links to it myself though I imagine that someone else will have one somewhere. I know it got hated because the author has apparently said some transphobic shit and because it focuses on the oppression of women on the basis of our sex and therefore it’s inherently TERFy, because even in these times where women are having their sex-based rights stripped from them, we’re not allowed to recognise that our sex is oppressed. Also, seen lots of people call it out for focusing on white women using the historic oppression of black women (guessing that’s linked to the sex slavery part especially) which I personally think is just ignorant to the fact that there are so many women of all races and classes who are forced or coerced into having children and reproductive control/abusive is massive so even if we haven’t all experienced it in the same way due to the intersections of different oppression, it doesn’t make our sex-based oppression any less valid.

The Etiquette of Reviews

Hold my purse, I’m about to rant.

Since my dive back into fandom, I have fully immersed myself into the whole fandom culture. Previously, I was part of the 2009 FanFic.net crew (if you know, you know). 

It was a simpler and yet harsher time back then. I’ve seen a few posts floating around Tumblr outlining the history of fandom and how far we have come in terms of Ao3 and rights etc etc etc. 

That’s not this post. 

This post is about the plethora of other posts that I have seen regarding, what I have come to call, ‘gatekeeping’. 

It goes without saying, that the majority of any fandom are consumers of media in any form. It also goes without saying, that everyone is a critic. What I’m about to say, will boil down to this one simple statement: 

You absolutely have the right to say and express yourself in anyway you wish -  but this does not give you the right to hurt someone. 

As readers and consumers of fandom content, there will be stuff that you disagree with. This is now a well-established message - you’re an adult, if you don’t like X out. 

In light of the tiktok cancel campaigns, I feel like an insidious part of fandom needs to be addressed. 

This incessant need to cannibalise ourselves. 

Did that grab your attention? 

Good. Now listen.

Authors and artists are receiving instantaneous feedback from tens, hundreds - sometimes thousands of people and humans are not built for this type of psychological assault. It hurts when you receive a bad review - Hell I’ve had a few! The worst being:

This is fucking shit. Don’t waste your time.

(You can’t fault them really, they were to the point.)

As a creator, you accept that you will receive bad reviews, and as much as it hurts you accept that that will be the case because not everyone will like the art that you produce. 

But what is worse, when someone from within fandom, someone who is either a fellow creator or hides behind an anonymous guest tag, deliberately sets out to  find fault in your work. And then they decide that it’s appropriate to leave “helpful” comments in the review section. These comments are from people who portray themselves to be better and more knowledgable than you, and then they try to teach you how write or draw or whatever - as if you haven’t spent hours on the thing that they are reviewing. 

They come across as the friendly helping face, and yet they leave patronising and condescending messages publicly either in the review section, or on a public forum like Discord. 

Let me make this clear. 

YOU ARE NOT BEING HELPFUL

YOU ARE BEING RUDE

YOU ARE BEING PATRONISING

AND YOU ARE BEING AN ODIOUS BLOODY BULLY

If you would like to be helpful and leave constructive criticism, reach out to the author privately via DM and say:

‘hey, really sorry to say this, I hope you don’t mind. I found a typo in x paragraph. I thought you may like to know.’

Or, if you are going to leave a public review - SHIT SANDWICH! 

‘hey I really like this thing that you did here.

I hope you don’t mind me saying, there’s a typo here.

This thing you did there was fantastic. Looking forward to the next chapter!’

AND THAT’S IT!

Calling out creators in this patronising, demeaning way in public, does not make you look big, nor does it make you look clever. 

If the creator does not ask for constructive criticism - do not leave it. Chances are, their work has already gone through multiple hours of edits and peer-reviews and all-sorts. If they do not ask, do not assume that your concrit will be received well. 

SECONDLY

Other creators who think that it is their place to gatekeep. They do this again, by appearing like a friendly face, when in fact they come in and say that ‘this FANDOM detail is wrong’. 

OR, highlighting their own work as being an example of good or correct, when criticising yours!

NO! NO! NO! NO!

If your opinions are that strong, do it behind closed doors in DM’s - that’s just common fucking curtesy! We all receive the same negative press from the general readers on public forums, we don’t need it from our own too! 

Finally

I feel like this needs to be said, because the people who do the above, also tend to portray certain characteristics and behaviours when they interact with people. 

STOP. TAKING. YOURSELF. SO. GODDAMN. SERIOUSLY!

Arrogance translates across written text, far more than you think it does. 

Everytime you leave one of these  insidious patronising comments, or take over a thread to self-promote when NOBODY FUCKING ASKED, you leech the fun from fandom, just that little bit more. 

This is not me saying that you can’t leave bad reviews - darling, if you want to go off, be true to your belief. BUT you do not have the right to hurt the creator with your words. Just don’t come in, acting like a friend and ally, only to stab the knife in our backs at the last minute. Have some fucking integrity and own your shitty behaviour.

But he is evil. If there is ever an alternate route to an end that doesn’t result in the loss of innocent lives, and you know that but you willingly choose the once that costs innocent lives, that is an evil decision. Maybe Thanos isn’t evil, but he’s not good. Far from it. He’s obsessed with this idyllic Utopia but he rushes to one method of getting there. Yes, people suffer. It sucks... it’s unfair... it’s horrible. But it is never the right of someone else to dictate whether or not said person would be better off dead. Who lives, who dies. If Thanos truly was neutral and not selfish, he would have thrown his own life into the mix of the potential 50/50 snap. Thanos is not good. He’s not misunderstood. He’s a murderer. A genocidal cult leader. I have no tears for him. Only for those who suffered more at his hands.
