tbh this is just me perhaps but I don't really like having the marauders do the sort of spectacular school-wide whimsical pranks that fred and george did, I think this is largely fanon that is based on the comparison to the weasley twins. the marauders were very different people. Yeah, they obviously got up to no good but a) I think they definitely worked more in the shadows, James's cloak and the knowledge about the whomping willow passageway led them to explore the school and create the map b) their idea of fun and high jinks was more at the expense of others, like they very much were bullies and canonically hexed random people for the fun of it.

Fred and George were showmen first and foremost, while the Marauders were more secretive. They were defined by their secrets, the exclusive nature of their little group, and I think their idea of mischief was more about sneaking around at night and jinxing people for their own entertainment, rather than that of others like F&G.

McGonagall describes them as "troublemakers," saying they're the worst the school has ever seen, then Hagrid goes on to compare them to F&G, and while I definitely believe that they caused trouble I simply think the sort of trouble they caused was markedly different. I don't think their "pranks" were as light-hearted and whimsical as the Weasley twins' were.

Like I love them and they were definitely mischievous little brats who constantly broke the rules but I think there's a darker twist to them than there is to Fred and George. ~The Prank~ (fanon name if I'm not mistaken, its referred to as a trick or a joke) was extremely dark and even though it was just Sirius's idea I don't think it came from nowhere, I think Sirius really thought it was more par for the course with the stuff they'd normally do

It's such a familiar scene, for family to see you dressing up out of obligation and then being like, 'Oh, NOW you're so beautiful, you should do this more often.' And internally, your body is screaming that it feels so wrong, why did you perform your perceived gender for this event! Or like, for me personally too, the whole missing the vibe of the event and dressing up way more than anyone else, and then feeling so out of place. I've joked before about Red Hood having older brother vibes, maybe she has trans vibes for me too now, lol.

Also, strange that Liliweiss is saying 'for the future' to Red Hood. Who, y'know, is basically terminally ill (corrupted). Red Hood doesn't 'have' a future, she just has the present and past. At this point in this mini-story thing (I'm assuming it takes place around the time of the Red Ash event), is Liliweiss aware of the plans to integrate Red Hood into Rapi, and therefore 'have' a future? Or am I just reading into this way too much? Lol. Just sounded like a really weird and inconsiderate thing to say to her.

My URL here is simply a version of the name "beyond birthday" ... I first made this blog when I was in the midst of writing a B-centric fic and got stuck on it. TK bites at the top of Carlos' left pec, muffling soft moans into his skin as Carlos fucks into him. The right side is covered by his husband's hand, blunt nails digging in almost viciously.

Carlos’ chest has been bruised for weeks at this point- the second one mark fades, TK is replacing it with another. Every time the heavy fabric of his vest rubs against a bruise, he winces, and he's fairly certain his co-workers are starting to notice. He's barely even allowed to wear a shirt at home- every time he tries, TK looks like a dog whose bone was stolen. Even when he does manage to put a shirt on, TK still pulls at his nipples, or squeezes his pecs, or even just stares.  

He's always either sucking, biting, licking, staring at, squeezing, poking, or resting his head on Carlos' chest. And, frankly, Carlos is a bit worried that he'll never be able to put on a shirt without wincing again. 

Not, of course, that Carlos doesn't enjoy his husband's obsession. Anything that has TK dragging him into bed, shoving him against a wall, or otherwise demanding immediate fucking is positive in his books, even if his dick is sometimes a bit worn out from how often he's been coming lately.

𝐂𝐋𝐗𝐈𝐈𝐈. Today I woke up earlier than usual and chose violence upon seeing yet another couple of details missed in translation that make me salty, specially because they're related with Travail and, once again, with the subtlety play Dain is known for in many miscellanies.

So apparently, the first detail that I read up is that the use of thrones or divine thrones of Celestia doesn't necessarily allude to a throne of power, given that gods in Teyvat are pretty much rulers. But instead, it's more so related with the concept of "throne of destiny" given that the Chinese term used for both thrones and constellations are one and the same. This could give some room for speculation and wonder if, when there is mention in Before Sun and Moon that the second throne came and warred against the Primordial One and 3/4 shades, a new vision of the future was also brought. Which, for better or for worse, could fall in place with Phanes' concerns about the rise of delusions and more that comes with Forbidden Knowledge. But knowing what's happening and the premise that at least to some extent he's responsible for the mess we're witnessing by the hands of the gods: even though the Second Who Came brought Forbidden Knowledge, in terms of raw knowledge is it actually negative or positive? And my reasoning to wonder this is that the Abyss is known for delivering knowledge and it's also known that the Abyss acts like some kind of gateway to influences outside Teyvat, and the potential that some of these tried to enter or are even aware of what's happening but their way to Teyvat is blocked. It would make further sense if we think that its skies are fake as yet another layer of "protection" from the outside.

And now what concerns Dain, he's always tied with destiny in some shape or form. Starting from the fact that he was searching his own destiny when he lost everything with Khaenri'ah's destruction, to his title as the confluence between the past and the future (future isn't exactly a 1:1 of destiny, but they are related), the fact that he has something to do with reweaving all threads of destiny and rejecting this world, which to my interpretation what he's rebelling against is the fate / Heavenly Principles as he keeps saying time and time again that he's an advocate that everyone is masters of their own destiny, as in saying that it's not being the case as things currently stand. To wrap this point up, it's curious that the Heavenly Principles (sometimes interchangeable with destiny / fate) started with Phanes and that, if the Second Who Came is meant to represent a new destiny, the Heavenly Principles continue to predominate.

Reading this brings something new in question: what isn't reserved for someone is that they can't achieve godhood despite that's what it's said to be the case (perhaps godhood but with a shit ton of small letters that no one reads) or that it is their destiny that they aren't allowed to choose? We have a "Loom of Fate" operation undergoing, and a new interpretation of Lumine's quote of "I won't rest until the Abyss has engulfed the thrones" is added if we re-shape the quote as "I won't rest until the Abyss has engulfed the constellations".

This here is what makes me salty the most, and it's because apparently the Chinese wording of "overstep" can also mean "to usurp". While for now I don't have anything major to say about this, it's the subtlety play that I talked about earlier that makes me raise an eyebrow because in the past (recent and distant) Dain proved to have a way with his words that at first glance and given the timing, it's hard to pay attention to as something relevant but once more information comes that is related to that, it makes you realize that his word choices aren't coincidental and this is one more detail that sheds some light with that. If anything because any knowledge about usurpers seems to be among the highest most classified knowledge of this world (there is an interesting ranking of that, but the lore is too extensive to make one of those) and as always, even though he doesn't state it openly, he once again says something that only those who know about it would understand.

Honestly, has nothing to do with anything in the published hcxfw fic at all, but given the year setting I couldn’t help but be curious (since it sounds like Scar keeps good contact with his mom). If firewatch!Scar and Grian ever hitched up together someday way down the line, you think Scar would try to hide it from his mother (be it his or Grian's request) or is she understanding that Scar is able to be open to her about his feelings?

Hello anon! This is honestly a very specific question that I just have not thought about? Well, not in the context of their families/friends. I do think that the time period would influence things of course. This is a story grounded—often very tragically—in realism, so it wouldn't just be ignored. It is even implied in the main fic that one of the reasons Grian's boss is awful toward him is that he doesn't actually believe that he and Mumbo were just "roommates." How fw!Grian and fw!Scar themselves would navigate a relationship could go a million different ways depending on how the post-storyline/au-storyline goes. (Is this their first gay relationship? Is this a version of the story with past Grumbo or not?)

I haven't written that and do not presently plan to, so I don't want to definitively lock down any specific ideas. You're free to theorize what you want.

However, in general my answer is that I feel like I've traumatized both of these characters enough that I'd rather give them a little peace with supportive family/friends. I think his mom would be okay with it. I think she probably just desperately wants him to be happy after the last decade. Losing your husband and almost losing your son at the exact same time probably does that to you.

Hey Pix! Have you read His Empire of Dirt by pearlandpine on Ao3? It's a slow burn fix-it (slow burn because it's longfic but also very much worth it). Mike accidently falls through the ballpit, de-corpses and becomes little Will Afton's first friend. And makes a found family and breaks the laws of time! Emotional rollercaster, will make you laugh and cry.
